In the middle of the second week in a row
with dual Monday night games, right now, people are flipping
(00:55):
over from the Eagles bucks going okay, this is done.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Eagles are winning, have a two touchdown lead with three
minutes left to go. It's over. Let me see what's
going on with the Rams and the Bengals. What have
I missed? And the answer is you've missed nothing, absolutely nothing.
This game is awful. You've missed a Hopefully all the
good stuff happens now and maybe that's in the script
that way. Listen, don't have any big plays while the
other game is going on. We'll let you go on,
(01:20):
have a couple of field goals each side. But then
let's have the play really amp up once the other
game is over and people are turning over to our game.
Maybe that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
You mean the offense has actually come to life and
it's not a field goal kicking contest.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Like there's a sign that someone gives off the field, like,
oh now we can now, now we can. Now we
can do it as instead of running into the line
and and and a lot of you know, passes the horizontal,
gain a couple of yards here and there. Yeah, now
now let's go downfield. Now we can do it. The
other game's over, people are turning over. There's two minutes left,
it's a two touchdown lead. Yeah, now we can do it.
Because this game is this bame is bad. It's terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
And look the only thing that's left for the the
Eagles Bucks game is if you can get some eat out,
some extra fantasy points. Maybe you need the you want
the touchdown from aj Brown. Maybe you'll actually see Jalen
Hurts complete a red zone pass oh for six on
the night with a pick uh. You know, all stop
throwing the ball you've run for two hundred yards. Just
run it down their throats and finish the damn game.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
But listen, Jalen Hurts doesn't get to do extra Hulu
commercials if they run the ball all the time. He
needs to be able to throw it once in a while.
Or Jalen Hulu has Live Sports is not gonna get
to do more commercials.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Jalen Hulu has his Live Sports just needs to keep winning.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Has Lives Sport. No more commercials. They don't do that.
How about we get DeAndre Swift into a commercial with
Taylor Swift. We have the new Swifties. Why do we
do that as the Swifties.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Well, you know what, though she abandoned the Eagles, I
mean since you went there, she abandoned.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
The dating someone on the chiefs now so she should
have fully trolled Swift.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
I am a Swift You just lost all not not
anymore appointed that she didn't suddenly do the big reveal
to have a Jason Kelsey Eagles jersey underneath, because it's
all been about I'm an Eagles fan, and then all
of a sudden, there she is, fully ensconced.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
You better. You better hope the Swifties don't know the
address of the radio station here where we're at Fox
Sports Radio on Venturable. You better hope they're not. They
don't know because you're down here. You've lost your you
lost your card, you lost Swifty card. You criticized Taylor
Swift in front of the America and God and everyone.
You criticized her.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
I just I'm just saying she's always been about grabbing
fold of everybody. She should have been wearing a jersey
like Mama Kelsey did during the Super Bowl, because you
still have to recognize those Philadelphia ringside.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Sure it does. She's dating Travis that she's allegedly she's
in the but still not Okay, they were at the game.
They left the game together. She's at the game. Good
pr stunt. If you're just friends, good pup. She needs publicity.
Taylor Swift needs publicity.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
You lean into the bit, you go have some fun.
I got an off day on a Sunday.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
I'm gonna go to Kansas, go to Kansas, flying to
Kansas and see a game, get to market, and then
be seen on camera.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Let's effing go, my favorite say, she wasn't potentially unhinged
as a football fan.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I mean, I love that part of it. That was great.
Let's affing go.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Guys in the boot didn't seem terribly comfortable with the
entire Taylor shift thing. That didn't work out. It didn't
seem so seamless.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Now, listen, we have a big question to ask about
Taylor Swift, and we'll have that coming up in a
few minutes. But yes, here's what's happening tonight, right now,
just under two minutes ago, in the fourth quarter the
early Monday night game. Again. I can kind of dig
these these dual Monday night games because it's good. If
you get a bad one, maybe the second will be good.
You know, it's kind of how it works. It can
hit you with quantity over quality.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
And it's still football. It's like that's and you know,
getting it on. It's all good.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
The game has not really been in doubt for a while.
Philadelphia is kind of cruising to a very easy victory
over Tampa. They lead a twenty five to eleven. They
have the football deep in Tampa Bay's and whether they
get in for a another Cosmetics score or not as
yet to be determined. But this has been a game
where for the entirety of the contest it has been
(05:07):
a dominance by the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Eagles so far, honestly,
they've been playing B games, right, this is this is
your typical team that is still on the hangover from
the Super Bowl. But because their roster is so incredibly talented,
they're gonna win games just because. And that's where they're
playing B games and they're blowing teams out well. And
you still have the changeover in coordinators right with Stich
(05:29):
and having left. Yeah, the passing game has still had
its issues. A couple of times they've tried to push.
You had the throw that look, the ensuing play ended
up being a safety because of a terrible play call
by the Buccaneers and obviously the dominance of that defensive line.
But yeah, to your point, you're still gonna be three
and zero to succeed and proceed. Yeah, style points don't matter, no,
(05:53):
And you can tell just watching them their attention to
detail and there. I don't want to say how they
came into the game, but you can just tell that
this is not the same we're on a mission team
that they were a year ago, because it's again still
going through the super high. But to be three and
oh and you're still on the hangover is great. When
you're the Bengals and you're one and two and you're
going or on two coming this game, it's a little
(06:16):
bit different. But for the Eagles, they're fine, and I'm
glad they're winning this game big because Tampa Bay is
a fraud. They stink and they were two and oh
and people are talking about a look at Tampa. No,
Tampa Bay stinks. They stink. An all game, their offense
looked worse than the Jets offense.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yet day not saying no, no, no, that kind of trash.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
They already lying America. They had one hundred yards of
offense the point in time where the Jets at one
hundred and twenty. So you just stopped right there. The
offense is worse than the Jets.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
I would it was more aesthetically pleasing than that Jets worse.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Okay, well, aesthetically pleasing. That's that right.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
I had a couple of big passes to Mike Evans,
Like you saw some stuff, but you can at least say, hey,
they look like they know how to play in a
passing game, whereas you could not.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Okay, all right, okay, all right.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
I went back and watched that game again Command of Jona.
I mean, I really, I really had to give it
its due attention. You know, I'm on the one nine
hundred Lose my Ass challenge again, so you know, when
you when you get the game, some of the games right,
some of the games wrong, and the picks against spread,
(07:28):
I gotta do some miles on the treadmill. I got
that game right, but I still wanted to watch it
again just to see how abysmal it was in full
because when it's on the eighth box.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Yeah, it doesn't look as bad.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
No, you looked up and it's it's not a great game.
And obviously see the score, like you know it's not good.
But to see some of the reactions on X was it.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Really that bad?
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:54):
It was it was. Now, look, there's a lot to
get to with this, but how do I feel at
this point after give up thirteen points? That told you
the defense is great. After they we give up one play.
They give up one play, one fifty eight yard pass
to guy who hasn't scored since two thousand and so.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
No, two great players on that possession, right, so you
have the good pass play, Yeah, but Jones, but Will
Williams has to come off the fields. I could stand
in the pocket ext second.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
And boom, yes, so here, Honestly, we're gonna there's a
lot of things to get to with this, with this game,
all right, but let me just tell you this, Jetsho.
I I understand, and I'm beginning to understand more. When
I meet people who are in their sixties, maybe they're older,
and they've been big fans, and you try to talk
to them about football, and they go, yeah, I don't
(08:41):
you know, Yeah, I don't watch as much as I
used I don't watch my team as much I used to.
And it's like why and and and everybody that I
talked to that used to watch football and doesn't anymore
has one thing in common. And this is not politic.
This is not political at all. Every t have one
thing common. Who's your team? My team is the Lions.
My team is the Raiders. My team is the Browns.
My team is the Jets, because there gets to be
a point when you just get too old to watch
(09:04):
your team just suck for a long period of time.
I tell you right now, it's it's you know, look,
I'm fifty two and I've been I've given my life
to the Jets, and this is what I've gotten back.
A decade a deck my entire forties, No playoffs, my
entire forties. Okay, no playoffs, not one. Biggest drought in
the NFL. They can't get it right, chance and nothing.
(09:26):
It's it's difficult to see a team not get it
right for a debt, three or four cycles of hiring
and bringing in players and you can't get it right.
And so I'm beginning to understand when as people get
old and they go, you know, I want my sports
teams to bring me joy. I want to be happy.
They don't have to win every year, but boy, they
got to give me some kind of hope. I can't
(09:47):
have every year be seven and ten or five and
twelve or four and thirteen, and hey, I get a
little bit of hope because it's the off season. I
can't have the offseason be the only thing that excites
me because we're just not playing any games and losing,
so I can be excited about the season. But I
get when people get to a certain point in their
life and they go like, yeah, I'm not the fan
I used to and you have weird like usually conversations
like this happened at holidays when you're when you have
(10:08):
family members around. You know, uncle Pete's, Oh, uncle Pete's.
Uncle Pete loved the jet. But it's towards the end
of the scenes, Pete, how do you feel I have
a watch? Why? I don't know. I just haven't. And
what he doesn't want to tell you is that I
can't watch this crap every single week and I'm done.
I don't need the negativity. I don't need the feeling
(10:29):
awful on a Sunday. I don't need that. Because you
want anything you watch, you can say oh, but being
a fan, you can no. No, it's being a fan
of anything, being a fan of a musician, being a
fan of a music group. I hate when they have
a couple of bad albums in a row because I'm
not gonna buy the next one, because you show me
you stick now, you wrote all your good songs when
you were twenty years old. It's being a fan. It's
being a fan of a TV series where you know,
(10:49):
why am I watching this right You're in the third season.
It's derivative. I'm done. I'm walking away from this because
I'm because I'm done now, because I'm no longer I
no longer get joy of watching this, and I complain
about it with my friends after It's like, what hate
watching can only go so far? And that's That's one
thing I'm really starting to get now, is that, yeah,
it's easier as you get older that I've been through
(11:11):
my whole life and the Jets didn't do it for me.
So I'm cutting the cord and I'm moving on to
something else. And now I do other things on Sunday.
What do you do? I go to festivals, or I
go to a farmer's market, or I do woodworking in
the yard, and I listen to you. I listened to
you do different thing, and I get I get people
just saying I've had enough and I'm unpluged because at
this point now with this, with all this stuff, it's
(11:31):
like I get it. I get that after three weeks
because the Jets still can't get the quarterback position right,
and they still want to go down the road with
Zach Wilson, even though the guys had two seasons and
three games to show you that he stinks. No, no, no,
We're still going to go forward Zach Wilson. It's really depressing.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Yeah, it's really got marble mouth trying to answer those
questions to get to that as time goes on. But
to your point, on a larger scale, it's also you know,
last night and this weekend down here in southern California
had a Beach Life festival down in Redondo Beach. You know,
built up this big stage, big music acts, and in
(12:05):
the fall they bring a bunch of country music Americana. Right.
So you had the Marshall Tucker Band, you had the
Doobie Brothers, Jessy but yeah, what cat Jessy. And the
last artist was Brad Paisley last night, and one of
his songs is you know there's only so many summers?
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Okay, the same thing for these folks instead have been
watching these teams suck for forty years. At some point
you're like, you know what, that's a Sunday that is
fully invested. Right if you go to games, and you've
been going to games. You're talking about driving there, however,
far from your home. Getting in and out of the
parking lot add what to hours. If you're in LA,
you're adding two and.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
A half hours to your experience related to parking lot,
plus your games another three to three and a half hours.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Like, am I committing seven hours to this? And more
than that because you're spending time thinking about it during
the week and reading about your investing at a whole
other level. At some point you're like, I only have
so many Sundays, yeah, or your free time.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Maybe you're still working a ton. You've got kids that
are in a bunch of activities, so you're in the
car doing the shuttle back and forth. All of these
different things that add up to I can't invest in
this anymore. It hurts too damn much.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Look at me.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
I'm a Southside chicagoan by birth. I've got four hours
of monologues on the Bears ready to go, right to
the point where YouTube TV did a mercy killing on me. Yes, yeah,
they would let you see the halftime. They said, you
know what, you don't need to see this anymore. Even
if Taylor Swift is there, you get an extra helping
of the Cardinals and the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Mike Harmon, we've actually tapped into your blood pressure. It
is too high, so we're taking this game off of
your screen. This is how things work now in twenty
twenty three, you can do that. If your blood pressure
gets too high, they cut away from the game, so
I can't watch.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
The game any minority risk to my health.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Cut it right up.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
But like, legitimately, I'm sitting there, I've got the three
bocks going right. It's like, all right, there's a Seahawks
and Panthers get after it. There's the Arizona Cardinals running
all over the Cowboys, and all of a sudden, it's see, hey,
it's halftime. But you know what, we're gonna switch to
the more competitive games, like I'll see you in Hell.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
I gave you my money check clear pal.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
You should be able to see any game I subject
myself to whatever misery I want, one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
No, that's a bit, that's a big question. That's a
big question. See how bad it was gonna get gotta
be able to I gotta be able to stick with
the game. I paid for the games I paid you
give me all these games. No one else is making
me cut.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Out of it.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Suddenly black me out for my own health. No, I
was in a different region. I mean, it wasn't like
I was in Chicago and you wanted to play Blackout rules. No,
I was sitting at home here in the greater Los
Angeles area and you said not for you anymore.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Well, they decided, they decided to help you a little bit.
They should have met the Jets with me after Zach
Wilson turtled and wasn't touched when he got sacked on
the jets first possession. I should have said, I'm going
to another game. I'm going to a more competitive game. Ah,
but it's nothing nothing, Nope, nope, I'm sorry. This is
no competitive anymore because I just watched my quarter turtle
and fall to the ground without getting dead. No, there's
no us about it. I'm gonna go to another game.
(15:05):
I'm gonna go watch something else.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Well, but I mean, look, you flip around, you try
to try to fight through, and you're still in a
one possession game. You're still at an opportunity. I mean,
think about this, like even as the clock expired, it
shut up said it's gonna reach the end zone. It's
gonna reach the end zone.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
It's better than that. Was a chance to make the play,
and Tom could not hold on. It was right in
his hands. Oh my gosh, that almost happened. It was
right at his hands at Phil said, the play right
at him. Look at this.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
He almost caught it.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Jim Jim. Can't believe that, Jim, he almost caught it.
Jim Jim. That's the most exciting play of the game. Jim, Jim.
That was so great, Jim Jim. We running that back, Jim, Jim,
that was great. I want to see how much feedback
they got. Remember what he used to call plays that
he was a genius. Yeah, they must have really hated that,
because now he sounds like a guy who's never played
(15:58):
or watched football, like they.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Did the Men in Black fleshy Jim Jim.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
They're not gonna make us two Jets games anymore, are they,
Jim Jim, Jim Jim. This game, to Jim, it was
every Jets Patriots game to the last year's, which is
basically unwatchable. And the Patriots, of course, have enough, and
Belichick walks off the field laughing like a lunatic. Going.
Whatever happens, I can always beat the Jets. I can
beat the Jets with my eyes closed and not practicing.
I could show up and play eight guys on defense
(16:24):
and seven on offense, and I'll still beat the Jets. Ah,
I'm so fun. I'm so happy. Right now, I'll make
a Taylor Swift joke and my Monday press conference. Eh.
I'm telling you, I get the people who say I'm done,
I'm done, and I just don't watch it. I just
don't And will that be me one day? Yeah? When
I stop doing this, Yeah, I can see where that happens.
Like I said, no, I don't need to Pam's gonna go.
Do you want to watch the game, somebody? No, I
(16:45):
don't want to watch the game. I want to go.
I want to go to a beer garden. I don't
want to go watch.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
The I'm gonna go and drink beer, eat sausages and
lots of cheese.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
I want to go to a minor league baseball game
and sit and sit in the Peter Pan family section.
That's what I want to do. I want to go on.
I want to watch a Jet.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
In this scenario, has the mc caskey slash Hollis family
sold the Bears, oh man, because if they still own them,
odds are I'm in the same boat. I'll see you
at the beer garden.
Speaker 2 (17:12):

Speaker 1 (17:59):
The most interesting thing from the Eagles Bucks game earlier tonight.
Eagles win it twenty five to eleven, first ever twenty
five to eleven score in NFL history. Right score Agami,
which is a Twitter account that keeps track of all
the differ of all the different scores that that happened
in the NFL, And their whole thing is we tweet
(18:21):
out when a score happens that the NFL's never seen before.
We have never had a twenty five eleven game before
in NFL history. So here you go, first time that's
ever happened. How about that twenty five eleven you got?
You got a big deal here tonight. Yeah, it's like
the one, the one thousand, like the one thousand and
eighty seventh, uh score Agami of the of the of
(18:44):
all time. Like it's like we're up in the thousands
now of scores. So you pretty much think we've seen
a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
We've seen a lot of go right. Brayton said it
happened in another game too. What was the other one?
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Seventy to twenty? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
That's an easy one. Yeah, seventy to twenty. I didn't
see that. Sorry, yeah, I didn't even think of Denver
at Denver getting fifty one feeling.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
You know, some folks picked them to win outright, and
some folks still believe in their coach.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Yeah, yeah, no, not so much.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
And that Super Bowl is a long time ago, and
Drew Brees ain't walking through that door.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Uh. So again, that's where we're at right now, Bengals
with the football deep in their own territory. The Rams
were driving when they got picked when Stafford got picked off.
So again, thirteen to nine, uh five minutes ago in
the third quarter. The best part of this game so
far as the Bengals helmets. Yes, I love Yeah, Tiger's
(19:34):
pretty good, don't forget me, and I'm don't. Actually it's
glass Tiger, but it's close. It could be white Tiger's
pretty any my heart will break. I have loved you
for so long.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
If you want to go down the road, I mean,
we can then celebrate the wrestling history of LT Gray
and name or other bands with the name Tiger it is.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Uh now, Yeah, I'm gonna say something about the NFL
this weekend, and I want your gut reaction. Okay, think
about the biggest story in the NFL this week when, thankfully,
even though as large as it was, it's not Zach
Wilson parody is a myth. As many points as they scored,
it's not the Miami Dolphins the best team in football.
(20:23):
If I said to you, yeah, what's bigger, what's more popular?
The NFL or Taylor Swift, what's your answer?
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Mind?
Speaker 1 (20:33):
After this weekend, the NFL or Taylor Swift.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Taylor Swift dwarfs everything everything.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
I was surprised. I you know, obviously, being there, I
knew it was going to be a big deal, but
I don't think I was ready for just the enormity
of what it meant. Of how Taylor Swift at a
football game was a big deal. I'm like, she sells
out stadiums all the time. She's not like she's a
recluse selling. Hey until you're seeing a yetti Hey, I've
(21:03):
seen Taylor Swift. No, you can see it till you
go to concert. Guess they're expensive. Taylor Swift is the
biggest star in the world.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I get that stars all the time, but this is
the biggest luxury box sighting since Roger Kleman.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
But like, if MESSI was at a game, it wouldn't
be this big a deal. But here's Taylor Swift, who
now allegedly is absolutely dating Travis Kelson, and it dwarfed
everything every even Zoe who came home from rehearsal this
weekend and said to me, Dad, was Taylor Swift in
a football game? I'm like, wow, Okay, Like I can't
(21:36):
get over how big of a deal it was. And
when you think of how how you know, we've had
unbelievable storylines this year and to guess it was a
really weird day, one of those days where let's check
you out. This happened in the NFL and Taylor Swift
and just seeing her yell, let's Evan go in the
in the in the suite with Kelsey's mom was just
it was the moment and you can't get away from it.
(21:56):
And no matter what else happened, Taylor Swift is out
of an NFL game. What's the biggest story to it?
Could be MVP. Nope, Hey, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey
were seen together. Now, Travis Kelsey's jersey is being sold
more than Patrick Mahomes's jerseys. I bet just swifties are
buying Travis Kelsey's jerseys.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
All the Times had the report that it was plus
four hundred.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Taylor Swift is bigger than the the NFL, which is
the biggest sport in the world, the biggest sports league,
the best, and Taylor Swift basically said, yeah, if I
want to go to a game, I'll help you out
with some publicity about.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
This for a minute, right because the dumpster fire, that
was the week for the Chicago Bears, and in that game,
the malfeasans, the usage, the reinsertion of Justin fields after
a bogus concussion protocol, I'll call it what it was,
forcing him back out on the field down a thousand
(22:50):
points to get back in the game. That meant nothing
like the It's like that week didn't exist because Taylor
Swift showed up. It goes out the door, now dating
or not, Well, they're hanging out. He's wearing the suit
inspired by an album, and you've got the big thing
in terms of if you want to go down the
(23:11):
dating highlights. It was the subverter film of her cleaning
up part of the suite as they were getting ready
to leave, saying she was trying to impress Mama by
cleaning up like that was the one piece of any
of it that made sense of oh, that they could
definitely be dating. There because she's trying to show mom,
Hey Clayton and again antiquated stuff. But folks went down
(23:32):
that road in the way started to run. But yeah,
it became the biggest story on every game that you
were watching or switched to. It became, hey, Taylor Swift
showed up in Kansas City. Now let's give you a
couple of highlights and on the game. I was kind
of upset that I didn't get to watch the second
half live because I mean, you were trying to keep
track of the over unders that were being said, of
(23:54):
how many times they'd reference a song, reference her or
cut away to the box.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
I don't know that I was ready for that level
of dominance by her. Like just like Taylor Swift, be okay,
that's gonna be a big deal. And yes it was
a big story this week, but I'm seeing the story. Hey,
it kind of cuts through the clutter. Here's Taylor Swift,
very big dating life. If she was dating somebody else,
is that big a deal? And I get that now
here we are twenty twenty three. If something happens with
(24:20):
a celebrity couple, it becomes really big news for a while.
Like I'm done reading about Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's divorce, Like,
I'm done reading about sh Okay, Okay, I get it,
I get it. Yes, they're divorcing and she wants the
kid to go back to England with her and it's
his fault and it's her fault. I'm done, But that
gets big deal. Okay, here's Taylor Swift and she's dating somebody.
Oh it's a big deal. But then just realized the
(24:41):
enormity of her and who she's dead, and there's nobody
else that could pull that off. And we have times
over there, there's other people who are the most dominant
forces of nature and music. You know, this would have
been like Beyonce, you know, fifteen years ago, showing up
at a concert, showing up at a game and she's
dating shading another play Madonna and Rodman.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Yeah, way, if you want to hit the way back machine,
because that was when Madonna was still a monster. Deal.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yeah, but was it?
Speaker 3 (25:09):
I mean it's hard to compare eras right because we
didn't have social media the Internet to do what we
would have done to Madonna, Like we need Taylor Swift's,
Slanna Gomez and all these people.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Now, if there was social media. When Madonna was in
her heyday, there would be no other stories. It would
be a story every single day about what Madonna did
last night, every.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Single But that's the thing with Taylor Swift right, the
number of people that camp outside of any place.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
She has been cited, people standing outside the No, I
don't need to watch the game. I'm gonna stand outside
her suite. I mean they were winning the game, like
fifty to nothing, but like stand inside sweet not for
an autograph, just to get a glimpse of walking out.
Son of Walter.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
He's the guy that got the clip of them walking
by in the hallway that goes viral and all of
a sudden he's on TMZ and do all sorts of
publicity because he had his phone out in the hallway
Aaron Stone Street.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
It's it's it really baffled me that this becomes that
big a deal. And then and then I kind of
then as as they unfolded, I was like, oh no, now, no,
not now, I'm getting it now a little bit more
like it's not that it's not that I I never
It's not that I didn't I didn't think it could happen,
or it wasn't something. It was just, boy, is it
really that big a deal? And as a day went on,
(26:25):
it's like, yeah, no, this is dwarfing every even Terry
Bradshaw's talking about her when when when they're they're giving
out game balls at the end, and he said, he said, well,
my game ball goes to Travis Kelcey. And he says,
he actually says, you know, Taylor's been a big fan
of mine for a long time. She's bought my last
couple of albums and come to my last couple of shows.
So I want to help you. I mean, every single
pore of the NFL, no matter what kind of fan
(26:46):
you are, this was the top story.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Well the other thing is And as much as I
may be done with Travis Kelcey to a degree, right,
I mean, because he's been everywhere since the last Super Bowl,
and good for him, right, run with that. Do your
commercials take out? He reminded, everybody, shoot your shot, Shoot
your shot. Why not pretty girl at the at work,
(27:10):
pretty girl at the at the gym. Whatever, you don't
be creepy, right, don't be that guy gotta be if
you go down, whatever you can't be, it's to fail, right,
if you go down in flames, and go down in flames.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
No, that's it, that's it.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
I always say, if you're gonna fail, fail spectacular, you
go down, take your shot. You took your shot with
the largest star in the galaxy. Right now, And whether
you're just hanging out or you're legitimately in a romantic relationship,
right now, you are the envy oh yeah, yeah of everybody. Hey,
eventually you're the scourge of everybody. Yeah if when this
(27:42):
goes bad, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, everybody. Now, Look,
players get two thirds of all revenue from Jersey since
so the last twenty four hours, Travis Kelcey was already rich.
But we always talk about how he's underpaid, right, that's
what everybody kept telling me. I don't know, he just
up whatever gap in the last twenty four hours.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
And now we're gonna get famous because we we got
to continue to mention how when we interviewed Travis Kelcey
the Super Bowl a couple of years, he sat right
across from hers. I got a picture of us. I sat,
I sat twelve or twelve or sixteen inches away from
Travis kels It was a good conversation. Yeah, he had
he had the oj sim he had the truck. Hat
I I sat that that clubs Now, TMC's gonna call
(28:23):
me shit? What was it like that picture? Who was
it like sitting that close to Travis kelce two years ago? Well,
I can tell you for ten grand. Here, here's ten grand.
Tell me that story. Well, here's what it was like.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
That's good. Get in there and sell, sell sell. I
mean if I say that, hey, I you and I
sat sixteen inches away from Travis kelcey at the Super
Bowl two years ago, do you think, like suddenly our
Twitter followers are just explode?
Speaker 3 (28:50):
But think about this, I mean, how much this blows up?
I mean the degrees of separation. I tried explaining that
to my daughters today and like, wait, you've talked to
him before.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
It's like, yeah, yeah, we sat right a crap sat
right next. I'll find the He was a great interview.
He was great, He took twelve minutes, he was awesome,
he was great. He was supposed to leave and he can't.
He just and his guys are sitting there the whole time, Like,
come on, he was dating. Now he's dating Taylor Swift.
Now he's the most famous guy on the planet.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
And I think to myself that one a wonderful world.
Shoot your shot, ladies and gentlemen. This goes on both
ends of it. Let's go Twitter and out about you know.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
You know, It's got me thinking about all the times
when I shot my shot earlier in my life and
it just didn't work. And there's nothing I regret about
that because I'm like, well I would she wasn't gonna
say yes if I wasn't gonna say It's a numbers game, man.
It's like one of the It's like they say in golf,
you miss one percent of the putts you leave short.
Your you miss one hundred percent of the shots you
(29:49):
leave short. So it's like, okay, you will not date
one hundred percent of the girls you did not ask out,
you know.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
I mean, I forget what sitcom was, but like it
was the Hey, I'm going to show you how well
I U, you know, do with women. And he keeps
asking whom out and finally gets a phone number. It's
like all right, going, yeah, but you asked out like
sixty weeks ye yah yah, yeah, but I got one.
I got what I got on I work.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
BOL prediction Sean Payton's won and done in Denver right now.
The flip side of this argument is going to be
Jason wait, wait, wait, they just brought him in. They
gave up a couple of big draft picks to get him. Yeah,
they're paying him thirteen million dollars a year. Yeah, but
two things one seventy to twenty changes a lot of
(30:44):
minds really fast. Because that's not on Russell Wilson. That's
about that is how do you not show up to
play a game in the NFL to the point where
you get drubbed unlike any team in history? You leave
Russell Wilson out there the entire game. You're down by
fifty and he plays every snap at quarterback. What are
you doing? Like? What are you doing? Do you want
(31:04):
the guy to get hurt?
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Like?
Speaker 1 (31:06):
What the hell are you doing? Leaving him out there
for the end, taking every single snap. Fantasy owners were happy, Hey,
I'm still getting points in Russell Wilson. I got twenty
one points of rust wils Why would you leave your
quarterback out there? It makes no sense. We talked about
last week against the Commanders, blowing the second half lead
and calling a time out to get your field goal
unit on the field and losing time to try for
(31:27):
that final drive to score a touchdown. Sean Payton's lost
his fastball. Nothing but bad news has been coming out
of Denver since the season starts, since before the season started.
But you're gonna say, but they gave up so much
and they're paying him thirteen million a year. Yeah, Jaguars
are paying urban Meyer twelve million a year. They didn't
get through one year. I told he's not gonna make
it to the end. He didn't make the biggest bull
(31:48):
prediction I've ever made.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Well, But you went from this guy's gonna be coaching
the year and he's the hero of the day. You
know what, I'm done with this guy. Times changed, new information,
new about I'll see you in hell.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Jack, and he was gone. He didn't even make it
to the Otherence sunk costs.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Right, you get to the point of all right, because
they're turning on him in the media and Denver quickly. Right,
because we've seen it over the last couple of weeks,
questions raised about the level of play decision making, and
then you come out of this one and you just
got absolutely drummed and you'd put bulletin board material. We
(32:27):
talk about it a bunch, right, the disrespect guard and
the ability to go and talk. And Peyton did a
lot of his talking.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Remember while he had his fox at I'm sure sure you.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Can't couch that you're still on the sideline. Now you
actually have an opportunity for someone to come and kick
your ass.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Now, and they did. I will say this turns out
he wasn't wrong about the Jets offense.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
But the Jets offense, but about Tua and the Dolphins
like Mganiea can play aw shucks all he wanted. We
didn't want to do that. It would be disrespectful. Whatever else. No, no, no, no, no,
tell me with either of those touchdowns, there wasn't some
level of satisfaction as two is just dicing up this defense,
right because Denver, we talked about it from the fantasy
(33:12):
realm and we talk about it in general. It's like, well,
the offense might have needed some coaxing, you might have
needed a little work. You got some pieces that you like.
Courtland Sutton, pretty good player went healthy. Jerry Judy, pretty
good player went healthy. Dulci the tight end, Pretty good
player went healthy. Go on and Mims a question mark
and everybody in the fantasy land going ooh, that could
(33:32):
be an extra guy. Javonte Williams coming off, like, all right,
the offense might take a little time, but it'll get there.
But that defense, that defense is gonna be ready. That
defense is gonna keep the game. Defense got its asking
from here.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Here.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
I mean, they got run over like you're you're the
pre limb bumb on a WWE card where they're counting
to twenty as the guy rams your head from post
to post.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
Yeah, yeah, especially Yeah. The Broncos were special delivery jone.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
No, that's exactly a jone, right, And that's what they got.
And that's the workout that they got yesterday. And don't
tell me that in that on that sideline in the
coaches boxes, they weren't all flipping him off at every opportunity,
for every throw and every play to a maid and
most are running wild and all of that stuff.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
A chen no longer a change a CHENCHENA well, when
you run for two hundred yards and get fifty Fantasy points.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
Whatever your name decided, I'm changing my nay, okay, never
it is, Hey, you're the guy. But tell me they
didn't enjoy every bit of that taking super genius got
all chesty when he was in his you know, hiatus
working as a larger member of the media, that they
didn't take some pleasure in watching his team go out
(34:48):
with their tail tucked between their legs.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
I mean, this could be an entire teardown in Denver
in this ay you talk about we could be one
and done for Sean Payton, and we got to move
on from Russell Wilson and we'll eat money and find
a way to trade it. Well, they're gonna trade Russell Wilson.
There's no way. Jason's untradable. The Packers found a way
to trade Aaron Rodgers. When you want to get to
(35:10):
someplace else, when a player is motivated to get to
another destination because it's not working in one destination, it's
amazing what they will give back to get there. And
we made a lot of money, right he will he
will say, hey, okay, we can do stuff here. The
money my next team that I'm gonna go to it's
not working out here. I will take a little bit
less here. I'll maneuver my contract around every If Aaron
(35:33):
Rodgers and his untradable contract was trading, and we told
you Aaron Rodgers is not untradeable. The contract is trade
anythink and money can be figured out. If that's the case,
that could you can see an entire teardown in Denver
after this year, new head coach, new quarterback, knew everything
next year in Denver.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Now remember this, there's no no trade clause. I don't
believe here, right, at least in this new new contract
that he's got. It's the Walton family that runs the Broncos.
Money is not an issue, all right in terms of
the Oh wow, I mean they've got that.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
No, it's just some cast Hey, beware falling prices though,
Beware fallingware. Beware falling prices. Yeah, I would have to
go back through it and talk about where where the
realistic opportunity is. But I'm pretty sure that at the
end of this year it's pretty easy to get out
from the rest of Russell and for Peyton, whatever we
(36:28):
made a mistake, yeah, it doesn't cant he took a
shit talking about See you're talking about almost fifty million.
You have to find a way to eat which okay, yeah,
we gave up draft picks. Okay, it happened. If the
team has quit on you already, If they have quit
on you, which looks like the case, how do you
make it? How do you make I don't know how
he makes.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
It this because here's the problem is that you're also
looking at a rebuild situation, right, You've got a fractured
space where you are now, and the media has already
turned on you. Yeah, it is already ugly, as evidenced
by so of the postgame presser and everything you got
going on, Like he's short, he's kurt. He's already getting
very angry with folks asking obvious questions.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
M R.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
I mean, sure, look, you signed up for this, you
came back into coaching, and you got your ass kicked
bad hard questions are.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
You're gonna get them?
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Right?
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Going to get them? So when we look at it.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
And look, you've got two winnable games in theory coming
up against Chicago and the Jets. I get that, But
does that that alleviate anything You just showed what happened
playing a contender. But if you were the Walton family,
it's it's clearly an easy thing of sunk costs. Right,
(37:42):
you got to do a rebuild in that division. Now
the Raiders can't get out.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Of their own way. No, and we know it's very difficult. Yes,
the Chargers keep trying to give, they keep charging, they
keep charging. Yes, but they got out charged by the Viking. Brandon,
I'm going for it on fourth or one of my
own twenty four. Oh, it worked out because the Vikings Viking.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
So let's you know, they said hold my beer. Now
we're gonna show no urgency getting to the line of scrimmage.
And then Captain Kirk throws the pick to let Staley
off the hook. But okay, so the Chargers may not
be able to get out of the way. But guess what,
Jeeves aren't going anywhere. No matter how much everybody's ah
they turned over these wide receivers they did, it doesn't matter.
(38:23):
Fifteen's still there, The mustache guy is still there. Andy
Reid's still getting his sacks of Tommy Burgers sent in.
He's unstoppable. So you're still chasing that. So if the
organization after three weeks is already everybody doing the Spider
Man me met each other and angry. And now you've
(38:43):
got the the media and Denver, which is not They're
not a bunch of shrinking violets there. Yeah, just what
you're in trouble can happen one and done for Sean
Payton and Denver. If Eberflus gets the better of you,
just walk Twitter and how about a fresca Mike gets
swollen home. Tonight show brought to you by Progressive Insurance.

Night football tonight, and we'll get to the Rams and
the Bengals coming up in a minute. But earlier tonight
we watched the Eagles go to three and zero, they
beat the Bucks, the Bucks drop to two in one.
(39:27):
The two truths about both of these teams coming off
Monday night, the Eagles are playing B level game right now.
The first three weeks, you could tell they don't have
the same sense of urgency. They don't have the same
sense of we have a chip on our shoulder approving
you how good we are. They have the most talented
roster in the NFL, and right now they're winning games
because they're more talented than anybody. They're playing D level games.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
But this is what happens. It's very natural coming off
the Super Bowl a young team. Hey, we feel like
we're still playing that game over and over again. So
it's going to be a bit until they hit their stripe.
Every is fine for Philadelphia because in a Super Bowl hangover,
if you're three and oh, everything is great New OC.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
So we're seeing some some hits in the passing game
a little bit, and Hurts at times has been reticent
to put the ball downfield.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
That's especially a fee who has Live Sports, not Hurts.
Hulu has Life Sports. He opens his jersey, you see its.
Hulu has Life Sports. Yeah, they're not paying me to
read it. A Hulu has Life Sports. Hulu has Live Sports.
They also have what there's plenty of shows, uh that
we're now going to get charged more for him. So
that's it for the Eagles. Everything is great for the Eagles.
(40:34):
The Bucks they lose, and you know what, I'm kind
of glad they lost because you hated them, the idea
that people were propping them up that they were good,
because I knew they stunk. And they had a Jets
Night tonight on offense Jets Night tonight that was slightly bad.
They were slightly better looking that had well, we had
(40:54):
Garrett Wilson. They couldn't get on the ball, but that
that too, just because he ran routes. He didn't get
a bad football team. They're not good. They're two and oh.
Teams get to two and o by smoking mirrors, some
of them do. That's Tampa Bay Is.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
By way of contrast, though, we do stipulate that the
Eagles are the class with the forty nine ers of
the NFC, right, yeah, sure, Okay, So so we take
that a little bit with a grand salt, because they're
gonna play a lot of teams that are at their
level or lower.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
But there's a lot of bad teams for the NFC.
Still one hundred yards of offense and three quarters it's Jets, Like,
it's still one hundred yards and three courts. Still that
bad Jets show. I mean, even if you have but
you've done that multiple weeks. Yeah, because our offense is
really really bad. That's why. That's how SPA is.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
You do it multiple weeks if they only did it
once against the top defense flowing.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Yeah. But if I say something is Jets bad, you
know how bad?
Speaker 2 (41:45):
No?
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Look the eye tests and look in the mirror and
what happened bad?
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Bad?
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Look?
Speaker 3 (41:50):
At times this game was clockwork Orange. I'm going to
tape your eyelids open and you have to watch the
horrors on the screen.
Speaker 1 (41:58):
I get do they do that in Chicago for the
Bears to make make sure people look data Look? Man?
Speaker 3 (42:02):
YouTube TV decided from my own health that they were
going to take that game away from that.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
Probably was a right choice. It might have been. Yeah,
I'm sure I went back and watching it anyway. Why
do you get to watch it? Why are you going
back to watch Bears games over and over again? Why
this hasn't been abysmal first three weeks of the season
for you?
Speaker 3 (42:20):
No, Like you know, if you're gonna commiserate with your
friends and family back in Chicago, you really need to
be able to understand their pain, dude.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
Other than I got a couple of high lights in
a box, they're all saying I turned the Bears off
at halftime, and I watched the Bear. I went from
the Bears to the Bear because a bear is more entertaining.
Now bear more entertaining, just like, just like, just like
Carmie had to google fun, like Bears fans have to
google fun. What has fun look like? Because watching football
ain't it? No, that's it, that's it. No, I get that.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
But you know, if we're gonna speak intelligently here on
Fox Sports Radio, and that's what we aspire to do,
not I saw a couple of highlights, and I saw
a couple of people write some bad tweets about them
with some cool memes. You know that they would act
black or you know Heffernin on there. I had a
lot of Kevin Jaymes over the last I want to
be able to speak to an intelligently having watched it
(43:08):
and not just getting an, you know, a summary from
someone who might have watched even less than I did.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
So here I am. I watch it like you watch
the Jets. So other people don't know. But I'm not
going back to watch that crap again. I'm not going
I didn't get to watch most of the second half.
Life did they switch to All you do is look
at say how many times do they show Taylor Swift.
There's Taylor Swift. You left after the game with Travis Kelsey.
Speaker 3 (43:31):
Okay, Now there's questions of how she got out of
the suite, and people are theorizing it was in a
popcorn machine.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Wasn't really Taylor Swift, It was Ai Taylor Swift who
was in the stands and in the suite, And then
it was real.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
It was one of the clones they had from that
Capital One commercial when they announced the tour.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Oh man, I'm telling you that Tampa Bay is bad.
Oh it was a bad day and they're a bad team,
and they had a couple of opportunities.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
Are moving the ball, I mean they had they had
a completion dwipe out of the backfield. Then he spins,
he takes his football move and idediately loses the ball,
Like come on, first down move those chains keep the
ball hold on secure ball. Baker Mayfield at times looked
smallish tonight. Evans made a couple of plays for him
(44:13):
oton but all in all, yeah, one hundred and seventy
four total yards and an abysmal Jets Like that's how bad?
But look at the Eagles, I mean and I gotta
