And I'm telling you what, watching the Mets just chase
Walker Buehler's curve and and his sweeper out of the
strike zone tonight, no matter when they needed to they did.
Seeing him do that, I'm sinking tomorrow going, boy, what
they're gonna be doing. A Yamamoto a gonna be swinging
it down those pitches in the dirt every single throw.
It's gonna be. It's gonna be something tomorrow night. I'm

Well, I mean, that's the thing.

They got a Mets hitters chasing and then he was
able to freeze him with a couple of backward ks
mixed there in six strikeouts in his four innings there. Uh,
And the way they were talking on the broadcast, you
would have thought it was the seventh.

I'm like, it's the fourth inning, man, Like I get it.
It's a great start comparatively to what we've seen from
from Bueler.

But it's like wow, it's like he's barely getting into
this back end the lineup for the second time, and
it was like this herculean he's throwing a complete game.

But he did the job.

Now, I have to ask you, how much do you
think Garrett was rattled after he got called for a balk? Yeah,
and that was got the home run to mister October.

And that's a bit of a dicey balk, you know.
I he came to a stop. It was it was
very momentary. He did come to a stop. But you
know still, you got two outs, man, You got two outs,
and you got two strikes. You got to find a
way to get out of here.

you picture of his pregame outfit.

Grimas just kind of waddles out.

Uh, well, the primary colors will become purple after this
this postseason.

What it's all said and done.

They made need purple uniforms tomorrow, and I go wear
these black ones anymore. Uh No, Look, this is when
we talked last night and I said, look, this is
an absolute must have win for the Mets. With Walker
Bueller going and and facing the prospect of their two
best pictures back to back, they need to win this game.
And Bueller has not been good. Right, He gets six
runs in his last start, and it's all it was

alternating good at bats, bad at bats. Like he he's
behind in the count. He's on a sweeper that's eight
feet off the plate and the Mets are chasing it,
and I'm saying, wow, I mean, look it was it
was difficult to watch because I'm saying, okay, we have
chances we're gonna nope, nope, we're gonna We're gonna find
a way to let them off. Look, they left run,
two men on bases loaded, Lindor strikes out like they've

had their chances. This is this is a dream for
the Dodgers. You what's the perfect scenario for you? Being realistic,
Dave Roberts would say, Walker Bueller goes four innings, fourish innings,
we score four three, four runs, and we're winning for
nothing in the in the sixth seventh inning, and and
that's what's going on right now.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Yeah, that would have absolute perfect situation. I don't even
think it would have been that aggressive. I think it
would have been we're tied after four, whether you're up
or not. I mean, if you got four four from
Walker Bueller where you drew even and we talked about
it yesterday, like thought, I thought, you know, the Mets
would if they were gonna get him, they were gonna
jump on him early. And he was able to pitch
out of a couple of things. Your guy made a

bunch of pitches. He just couldn't field the ball.

Oh, his his pitching was equal to his fielding, like
I mean, And that's the most frustrating part is the
Dodgers get the first two runs because the Mets misplay
not one, not two, but three balls in the inning.
And it was So that's the hardest thing as a
fan in all of sports for me to watch, right
when when when my team makes errors both mentally and
physically on the field, When when I when I watched

the Mets, when when you make errors like that, that's
the stuff that just drives me crazy because that you're
you're handing the game to the other team. I mean,
three misplays in the second inning, and the worst one,
honestly was Alvarez. Who's got to make Who needs to sit?
He needs to sit the bench. He is killing them tonight.
The one guy hit, he's lost at the plate. I mean,

he swings in a pitch that's two and zero up
at his neck when it's gonna be three.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
How the hell are you swinging at that pitch? What
they say is five of his last thirty three or thirty.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, he's he's absolutely lost, right And and and when
that happens and you're not hitting, you try to make
up for it defensively. And what are you doing the
second on that swinging bunt, go to first and get
the out. You got the out. It's a dice. He
played to throw it down to second. And not only
does he throw, it's a it's a throw to the side.

It's and and and.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
The and the Mets have to jets and the Mets
have to get there to cover it. And it's Devontae
Adams fault and and you know, and the glaciers has
to get there to cover it and he can't. And
instead of one out runner at second, it's nobody out
first and second. And then then the bases are loaded
when Severino can handle a comebacker that should have been
a double play.

And it was just it was.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
It was play after play that was so incredibly frustrating.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
That you know, look, kik Andre is heading home. Run. Okay,
it's all run, you know what.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
But just watching them give the gift the Dodgers those
first two runs, that was that was the toughest thing
to watch tonight.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
Yeah, I mean the play by Alvarez absolutely monstrous. And
then several Reno not being able to get into a
get it, get himself into a fielding position coming through
his his motion.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Uh, it cost him terribly.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Because you watched out how it affected him, you know,
the next sequence of pitching. So all of that to
say some of the fundamentals, because we talked about this
Monday night, watching that horrid Monday night football game with
all of the penalties, A lot of them are are
just suspect, uh suspect from the officiating side. But the
ones that are just the all right, you lined up
off the line of scrimmage right, or you you pre

snap penalties. All of those things that are just mental
and basic are all the same things your Mets did tonight.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah, look, this is a game the Mets had to have.
I had, but look and it's still Look, Mets games
don't start till the eighth thing. I get that we're
almost there, but I mean, they lose this game, boy
or the Dodgers and the driver's seat after all, after
all the great vibes, splitting the first two games, winning
the second game the way they did, and they come
in and throw up on themselves in the second inning.

But they can't.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
I mean, when the Mets were feeling good in this series, Hey,
they come to the first game.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
What happens.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Sengle walks the bases load in the first inning of
Game one, and that's the game. They can't field the
ball in the second inning, and and that and that's
the game, right and and they can't hit Walker Buehler
because they're a combination of being too aggressive and not
aggressive and no, and it's just that this is a
perfect conference of circumstances for the Dodgers. I mean, I
know the Mets. Wait, they've had a lot of escape

so far. Look, nobody knows better than I do. But
been living and dying with it every day for the
last two and a half weeks. But at some point,
you know that the bottom of that miracle sock drawer, Uh,
you gotta do laundry, and no more miracle socks here.
I use the last one. And when Vento's hit the
grand Slab, I use the left. So at some point, yeah, yeah,
leave it over the door. Uh, you know, you know

we have to you know, we have to talk about that.
That that's a that's a topic that's near you. But no, no, no,
all right, at some point, at some point that's going
to happen. And at some point, uh, the better better
play is going to win, and the miracle is not.
And now the Dodgers, right now, it looks like they're
headed into Game four up two games to one.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
They have the two starters they want going right.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Of the first three games of the series, two of
them were guys. They were nervous as hell about the
bullpen game and Bueller tonight, and so far they're gonna
get through this most likely with the two games to
one lead, and now they're looking at saying, we want
to end it here. We don't want to go back
to La and have to worry about what do we
see and a bullpen game in game six and who
knows in game seven, Like the Dodgers have to be

(10:12):
thinking we need to end this series in New York.
We need to see Yamamoto and then we need to
see Flarerty with another big game like That's that's the
mentality the Dodgers are going to have right now. And
then look and they have everything going in their favor
right now, because this is a game that is picture
perfect for how they could have carved it up. This
is absolutely going there.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
With Jason, Yeah, guess where I'm from?

Where are you from the future to.

Lose, and then you got two things that come out
of this also on the Dodgers side, One Sho Hao,

But and then Will Smith dropping in the batting order
where it's you know, he becomes a second leadoff man
kind of thing, you know, where you're trying to get

from the five hole. He couldn't do anything, but here
he comes up with a hit. Crazy it all works
out for you Smith.

It's one of it's you know, it's one of those
things where you know, hey, obviously there, you know, you
want to say there's a lot of baseball up at
the same time, it's not.

I thought the medical jump on. Oh yeah, I thought
the Mets would jump on Bueller tonight, and they would
they would get up big and and it would be

a game in which they would pull away and win,
and then the pressure would be on the Dodgers to
get the next two games to be able to go
up and But instead it's the this is the this
is the one hundred and eighty degrees away from how
I thought this game was gonna be.

by the TV. He's looking behind the TV to see
if the animals are coming out the other side.

He is having a party by himself.

have a lot of season in front of them.

wants out at some point, as when the losing keeps

he could be a chief who knows how it's gonna go.
They will absolutely get at least one. I'll say even
I'll go. I'll say they get two new wide receivers
they bring in by the deadline. But they're not gonna
be antsy. They don't need to be proactive because they're
five to zero and everything is good. But they will
get at least one, maybe two guys at the deadline
