Speaker 3 (00:57):
Now, you know, I have to talk Tireraq. You can
do it. You Aaron Rodgers, whoa we come on man? More? Uh? Roy,
you got everybody running out of the back.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Let's just I know, let's just everybody doubt let's just
be you harming you, me, Frostburg and Ty Shirt.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Let's just be four little.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Foss We're all right now.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
It's too nothing in the sixth inning, patently untrue. It's
too nothing in the sixth inning. That's what's happened. That's
where the game is right now. The Dodgers are winning.
It is to nothing in the day. People are turning,
su is the game over? Did I miss it? Did
I miss something? What about the helmet? When you hear Newman,

(01:45):
I mean it means well, well, now it might be
because Keith k Hernandez has just homered off of Reed
Garrett make it for nothing, Dodgers. I shouldn't have said anything.
I just said, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's over. That would
have been a fly out to left field.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Keith k hernanes just clears the wall and left field
for nothing. Now, Dodgers with the lead over the Mets
in the top of the sixth inning.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
It's another perfect day.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
This has been.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
This has been everything the Dodgers can the games in
New York. Uh, this could be. This is everything the
Dodgers could have ordered in this game.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
So far.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
You get four shutout innings from Walker Bueller, who was
in and out of trouble.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
The Mets have chances to make him pay, they can't.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Uh. They get two runs on the board in the
second because the Mets can't field the ball, and now
a two run homer by Keith Hernandez for a four
to nothing lead.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Like this is this is everything. The Dodgers drew it up.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
And I'm telling you what, watching the Mets just chase
Walker Buehler's curve and and his sweeper out of the
strike zone tonight, no matter when they needed to they did.
Seeing him do that, I'm sinking tomorrow going, boy, what
they're gonna be doing. A Yamamoto a gonna be swinging
it down those pitches in the dirt every single throw.
It's gonna be. It's gonna be something tomorrow night. I'm

(02:59):
not feeling great right now, Not great, Bob, not great.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Well, I mean, that's the thing.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
They got a Mets hitters chasing and then he was
able to freeze him with a couple of backward ks
mixed there in six strikeouts in his four innings there. Uh,
And the way they were talking on the broadcast, you
would have thought it was the seventh.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
It's like all right here. He is this cruise.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
I'm like, it's the fourth inning, man, Like I get it.
It's a great start comparatively to what we've seen from
from Bueler.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
And some of his others.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
But it's like wow, it's like he's barely getting into
this back end the lineup for the second time, and
it was like this herculean he's throwing a complete game.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
But he did the job.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
Now, I have to ask you, how much do you
think Garrett was rattled after he got called for a balk? Yeah,
and that was got the home run to mister October.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
And that's a bit of a dicey balk, you know.
I he came to a stop. It was it was
very momentary. He did come to a stop. But you
know still, you got two outs, man, You got two outs,
and you got two strikes. You got to find a
way to get out of here.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Hey, are you guys really surprised? I mean I sent
you picture of his pregame outfit.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Are you shocked at a way?

Speaker 6 (04:04):
No?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
No, No, it was a great It was a great
pre game outfits game outfit.

Speaker 6 (04:10):
Yes, is upset that his outfit was bettery?

Speaker 3 (04:14):
How come you?

Speaker 1 (04:14):
How come he's wearing purple. I thought, I I'm the
guy that wears purple. Grimerson Steve Cohen's office going, I
thought we had a ban on people wearing purple here
at City Field, and you let this guy come in
here wear purple?

Speaker 3 (04:24):
What the hell is wrong with you? Cohen? And then
Grimas just kind of waddles out.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Uh, well, the primary colors will become purple after this
this postseason.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
What it's all said and done.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
They made need purple uniforms tomorrow, and I go wear
these black ones anymore. Uh No, Look, this is when
we talked last night and I said, look, this is
an absolute must have win for the Mets. With Walker
Bueller going and and facing the prospect of their two
best pictures back to back, they need to win this game.
And Bueller has not been good. Right, He gets six
runs in his last start, and it's all it was

(04:55):
alternating good at bats, bad at bats. Like he he's
behind in the count. He's on a sweeper that's eight
feet off the plate and the Mets are chasing it,
and I'm saying, wow, I mean, look it was it
was difficult to watch because I'm saying, okay, we have
chances we're gonna nope, nope, we're gonna We're gonna find
a way to let them off. Look, they left run,
two men on bases loaded, Lindor strikes out like they've

(05:17):
had their chances. This is this is a dream for
the Dodgers. You what's the perfect scenario for you? Being realistic,
Dave Roberts would say, Walker Bueller goes four innings, fourish innings,
we score four three, four runs, and we're winning for
nothing in the in the sixth seventh inning, and and
that's what's going on right now.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Yeah, that would have absolute perfect situation. I don't even
think it would have been that aggressive. I think it
would have been we're tied after four, whether you're up
or not. I mean, if you got four four from
Walker Bueller where you drew even and we talked about
it yesterday, like thought, I thought, you know, the Mets
would if they were gonna get him, they were gonna
jump on him early. And he was able to pitch
out of a couple of things. Your guy made a

(05:56):
bunch of pitches. He just couldn't field the ball.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Oh, his his pitching was equal to his fielding, like
I mean, And that's the most frustrating part is the
Dodgers get the first two runs because the Mets misplay
not one, not two, but three balls in the inning.
And it was So that's the hardest thing as a
fan in all of sports for me to watch, right
when when when my team makes errors both mentally and
physically on the field, When when I when I watched

(06:21):
the Mets, when when you make errors like that, that's
the stuff that just drives me crazy because that you're
you're handing the game to the other team. I mean,
three misplays in the second inning, and the worst one,
honestly was Alvarez. Who's got to make Who needs to sit?
He needs to sit the bench. He is killing them tonight.
The one guy hit, he's lost at the plate. I mean,

(06:43):
he swings in a pitch that's two and zero up
at his neck when it's gonna be three.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
How the hell are you swinging at that pitch? What
they say is five of his last thirty three or thirty.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, he's he's absolutely lost, right And and and when
that happens and you're not hitting, you try to make
up for it defensively. And what are you doing the
second on that swinging bunt, go to first and get
the out. You got the out. It's a dice. He
played to throw it down to second. And not only
does he throw, it's a it's a throw to the side.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
It's and and and.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
The and the Mets have to jets and the Mets
have to get there to cover it. And it's Devontae
Adams fault and and you know, and the glaciers has
to get there to cover it and he can't. And
instead of one out runner at second, it's nobody out
first and second. And then then the bases are loaded
when Severino can handle a comebacker that should have been
a double play.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
And it was just it was.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
It was play after play that was so incredibly frustrating.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
That you know, look, kik Andre is heading home. Run. Okay,
it's all run, you know what.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
But just watching them give the gift the Dodgers those
first two runs, that was that was the toughest thing
to watch tonight.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
Yeah, I mean the play by Alvarez absolutely monstrous. And
then several Reno not being able to get into a
get it, get himself into a fielding position coming through
his his motion.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Uh, it cost him terribly.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Because you watched out how it affected him, you know,
the next sequence of pitching. So all of that to
say some of the fundamentals, because we talked about this
Monday night, watching that horrid Monday night football game with
all of the penalties, A lot of them are are
just suspect, uh suspect from the officiating side. But the
ones that are just the all right, you lined up
off the line of scrimmage right, or you you pre

(08:14):
snap penalties. All of those things that are just mental
and basic are all the same things your Mets did tonight.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah, look, this is a game the Mets had to have.
I had, but look and it's still Look, Mets games
don't start till the eighth thing. I get that we're
almost there, but I mean, they lose this game, boy
or the Dodgers and the driver's seat after all, after
all the great vibes, splitting the first two games, winning
the second game the way they did, and they come
in and throw up on themselves in the second inning.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
But they can't.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
I mean, when the Mets were feeling good in this series, Hey,
they come to the first game.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
What happens.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Sengle walks the bases load in the first inning of
Game one, and that's the game. They can't field the
ball in the second inning, and and that and that's
the game, right and and they can't hit Walker Buehler
because they're a combination of being too aggressive and not
aggressive and no, and it's just that this is a
perfect conference of circumstances for the Dodgers. I mean, I
know the Mets. Wait, they've had a lot of escape

(09:08):
so far. Look, nobody knows better than I do. But
been living and dying with it every day for the
last two and a half weeks. But at some point,
you know that the bottom of that miracle sock drawer, Uh,
you gotta do laundry, and no more miracle socks here.
I use the last one. And when Vento's hit the
grand Slab, I use the left. So at some point, yeah, yeah,
leave it over the door. Uh, you know, you know

(09:29):
we have to you know, we have to talk about that.
That that's a that's a topic that's near you. But no, no, no,
all right, at some point, at some point that's going
to happen. And at some point, uh, the better better
play is going to win, and the miracle is not.
And now the Dodgers, right now, it looks like they're
headed into Game four up two games to one.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
They have the two starters they want going right.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Of the first three games of the series, two of
them were guys. They were nervous as hell about the
bullpen game and Bueller tonight, and so far they're gonna
get through this most likely with the two games to
one lead, and now they're looking at saying, we want
to end it here. We don't want to go back
to La and have to worry about what do we
see and a bullpen game in game six and who
knows in game seven, Like the Dodgers have to be

(10:12):
thinking we need to end this series in New York.
We need to see Yamamoto and then we need to
see Flarerty with another big game like That's that's the
mentality the Dodgers are going to have right now. And
then look and they have everything going in their favor
right now, because this is a game that is picture
perfect for how they could have carved it up. This
is absolutely going there.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
With Jason, Yeah, guess where I'm from?

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Where are you from the future to.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Lose, and then you got two things that come out
of this also on the Dodgers side, One Sho Hao,
TONI still can't hit with that with nobody on.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
He's Oho for three. He didn't draw a walk.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
But and then Will Smith dropping in the batting order
where it's you know, he becomes a second leadoff man
kind of thing, you know, where you're trying to get
runners on for Tony. He actually got a hit it
from the five hole. He couldn't do anything, but here
he comes up with a hit. Crazy it all works
out for you Smith.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yeah, I know, I know.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
It's one of it's you know, it's one of those
things where you know, hey, obviously there, you know, you
want to say there's a lot of baseball up at
the same time, it's not.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
So what's the Ogi barrephrase?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
It gets late early like it get it, get it
gets late really early after night. Suddenly it's hey, two
to one, we lose tomorrow. Like you're thinking, oh my goodness,
that could be it, right. I mean, you can only
sit back and say, hey, man, we got we got
some more miracles.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Yeah, I'm ready for a miracle. I got some more.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
We got we got plenty of we got a whole room.
We haven't even been to the second miracle room. We're
still in the first miracle room. Oh no, no, we
got tons of miracles for you're ready. Well, yeah, I
don't know, I I don't know. I mean, this is
this is not how I thought tonight would go. This
is not how I thought it would go at all.
I thought the medical jump on. Oh yeah, I thought
the Mets would jump on Bueller tonight, and they would
they would get up big and and it would be

(11:54):
a game in which they would pull away and win,
and then the pressure would be on the Dodgers to
get the next two games to be able to go
up and But instead it's the this is the this
is the one hundred and eighty degrees away from how
I thought this game was gonna be.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Run on one out and uh he as another baseball
wizard used to say, ed, farmer, as long as your
you're within a slam, you got.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
A chance keep it within a slam. Oh man, I'll
tell you it is. It is tough. It's tough, my car.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
Where you can get the one swing in the bat
like just a little bit of a run, Yeah no,
I know, psychologically, I know you're gripping. Benny has probably
been the recipient of a lot of yelling.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
No, no, no, but no, Benny, when when when I'm
worried Benny is in the house and I'm working, he knows,
like at this point, he knows, Okay, when when Dad's
in this room, I have to I have to go
and be by myself.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Twice if the met's up.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
No, no, no, here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
So, Benny, here's what I did for Benny jerks, which
he whisperg I have video of you punting a dog
over a into a ravine.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Okay, on the car. H But here's an I did
for my desk.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Okay, you know, and I feel about working tonight and
everything else in the mets.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
So I set Benny up in.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
The living room, first time I've ever done this, and
I put on one of those uh nature channels where
it's just like, here's three hours of squirrels getting nuts
and birds landing, you know, and he is having the
time of his life. He's like that dude from ESPN
a few years ago. He is having the time of
his life. Benny is having the time. He is enraptured

(13:25):
by the TV. He's looking behind the TV to see
if the animals are coming out the other side.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
He is having a party by himself.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Because he's watching anything but the Mets right now.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Of course, he's stopped to Sergio dip reference. I done
name indelibly etched in my brain. I have no idea.
What's the comfort food tonight though Smith snack food? Well,
the comfort food tonight?

Speaker 1 (13:50):
I actually okay, I have three kinds of popcorn ready
to go.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Off.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
I have white cheddar popcorn, I have cheese popcorn. I
have the mix with the chocolate drizzled popcorn. I got
all kinds of popcords. Like, what do I want tonight?
What am I gonna need?

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Okay? I might need? Okay, I got three kinds of
popcorn ready to go. That's what I have. That's me
tonight right now?

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Uh so, right now, bottom of the sixth inning, one
out Dodgers with a four to nothing lead, but the
Mets do have two to one and one out. Ken
Delita is up Osaic Iglesias. Uh he is one for two.
We'll have more on this game coming up, but straight ahead,
oh boy, uh do we have big stuff in the
NFL today. The most hated player in the game is

(14:33):
now on notice that's next right.

Speaker 7 (14:37):
Now?

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Wait a minute, Shirt, you may be right about it.
I know, well, listen, I know it was between that
one and you play in the Cleveland Drop. So you
played the now you played the right one.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
The most hated player in the NFL is on notice.
We'll get into that coming up next. Jason and Mike,

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Well, I like baseball butt not to night because the
Mets they stink and the Dodgers keep scoring, walking all
the batters. The Mets can make the plays. I'm watching
Coloff Mendoza. He's frowning in his face. Fox Sports Radio,
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmony.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Jason, you told me that the Mets start playing at
the eighth right.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Yes, it's it's only the seventh inning. Little to go
a little bit of an intro like this is like
the uh.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
What what? What? Do we go to the opera and
this is this is it? This is our night and
you know the heights will hit on with the show.
This is it.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Yeah, it's like a big curtains prologue. Yeah yeah, oh wait,
it's a big curtain rise. Oh, it's kind of fun.
We're gonna watch curtain riser. Dodgers have two on, two
out in the top of the seven, threaten to break
it open against Tyler McGill and the Mets. Again Dodgers
up for nothing. Mets had a great chance last inning,
but once again Dodgers escape. They get a ground ball
for a double play to end the inning, and again

(17:08):
for nothing. Dodgers over the Mets in the top of
the seventh inning. It's it's just not the Mets night.
It's just not the Mets night. And this is a
perfect night for the Dodgers. Everything they've wanted is happening,
and it really it's it's their night and it's not
our night.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
And you know what, I guess I could say nights
like this.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Happened, Jason, real question for you. Yeah, why would the
Mets dress for their own funeral tonight?

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (17:31):
They like the black uniforms.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
They like the black uniforms.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Black uniforms used to be a big Friday night thing,
the Mets black uniforms Friday Night at the EDD when
we were in Chase Stadium, and they've tried to maneuver
it here with City Field.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
I don't think, well, I don't purples the color of royalty.
I don't.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
I don't think Rob Manford's going to allow a uniform
change in between games.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
But they have that one that's somewhat purple ish. The city, yeah,
the city, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
The city connect Ones. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Uh, they gotta do something. I mean, Grimace has to
throw the first pick. Grimace and hawk to A have
to throw the first pitch out tomorrow, bore Strawberry, Yeah, really,
why not Strawberry?

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Come on? What what? What? What?

Speaker 1 (18:10):
What?

Speaker 3 (18:10):
What you got against Strawberry? He threw it to good number?
What is it? Thirty six years? Right?

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Yeah, come on, man, obviously obviously they can never do
it again after tonight, he said, the wrong with that?

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Got an inning left in his arm?

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Really, Strawberry or Grimace, No, Grimace, I mean I can't.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
But they made the choice.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
They might be saving Grimace for tomorrow, Grimace and hawk
to A for tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (18:32):
I doot, that's just reeks of desperation as opposed to confidence.
Uh no, no, I think you just bring Look Grimaces
look just like it's old time rest.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
I mean, just like just like old timer's day. Hey,
it's a familiar face. People, the ballpark, like to see it.
He comes out, he waves his cat. You give the
fans a thrill. That's all you need to do.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
We're just quoting a league of their own. Yeah, wave
your little hat.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Just need Grimace, that's all. I just need Grimace tomorrow. Now, Hey,
let's get grims ate himself to death. Oh hey, whoa whoa, whoa.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
Whoa whoa escalated quickly and now last thing off the
Dodgers in their performance.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
There's performance.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
When you're talking about the Dodgers performance, fred we have none.
We talk about their performance.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
Kind of question is that question asked me about the
performance of the Dodgers, But but a lot about Freddy
Freeman and uh getting what it was taken to get
his leg ready to get out on the field. He's
won for four tonight and watching him run is painful.
A couple of times he's hit the ball and just
been the hell with it, uh and walk to.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Go get his glove.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
But on the field, boy, he's made a couple of
big plays at first base picking the ball off the ground.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah so yeah, no, he's made No, he's made some
big plays. Wow he looks good, but no, no, he's
gonna limp. He's gonna limp bag. You gotta make me
see that he limps. He's making these great plays.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
No, no, are.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
You doing Tom Brady yelling thing you don't like somebody?
That's what you do. You just hey, listen, I look
at him yelling at people. He's beating your ass. But
look at him yelling when he's not having.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
I got I got a big tom Brady hote coming
up in a few minutes, don't Joe.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
We got a big Tom Brady coming up. But Mets
get out of the jam.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Tyler McGill gets a strikeout, so for nothing, Mets coming
about seventh inning stretch. Meanwhile, Davante Adams speaks for the
first time as a member of the Jets. The biggest
NFL story of the week gets even bigger as the
Jets say today they expect Devanta Adams to.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
Play on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Part of what he talked about when he got to
talk to Jets for the first time and talk to
the media. Hey, you know, it's a crazy game. He's
happy to be here. He's ready to get started. Davonte
Adams wants to be a Jet for a long long time.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
If I can change you can change. We move with.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
Oh, he was pumped.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
I don't know that we needed the Russian interpreter because
I think everybody understood what he was saying.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
I don't. I don't. I think we need well. I
mean we're a global show. That is true. We've got
trans all over them.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
Yes, yeah, I mean so we want to make sure
we grab everybody with a big hug.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
The Kremlin very interested in what Davanta Adams.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Did you not know he was a big deal in Russia.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
I didn't. I did not know that. I didn't know.
People are walking around Russian Davante Adams jerseys. Yes, well,
now there's the old packer jerseys.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Who wears one. That's all he wears when he rides
his horse.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
What do you think of Davanta Adams? He is like
a piece of iron.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Here is Adams from today talking about how happy he
is to be a jet.

Speaker 7 (21:38):
It's been a roller coaster, for sure. It's a weird.
It's a weird thing to say, you know that that
I'm happy. But you know, obviously it was time for
a change, and uh, you know, this whole thing kind
of transpired a little a little weird, but it's at
the end of the day, I'm you know, we're in
a better place. I think that Raiders are in a
better place as well, and you know, everybody can kind
of move on.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
So there he is.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
And he also went on to say that he hopes
to be a Jet for a long time. I don't
want to be here as a rental. I'm hoping to
work it out. He wants to stay and play with
Aaron Rodgers. All that is great to hear. I mean
that is that is awesome to hear. He's of course
he's gonna play Sunday, because what did I tell you?
I have no doubt the Jets are gonna be terrific,
But they got to be terrific.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Now.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
You can't be terrific in a month when it all
comes together and you're still a couple of games under
five hundred, No, you can. You have to go eight
and three the rest of the way to make the playoffs, right,
to we get to ten wins.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
You need to put it together. Now. It's got to happen.
Now it can, but it's got to happen now. Time
for the Adams administration. But Duvante Adams, I know him.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
So after that today It's really fun to see how
absolutely everybody hates Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
Everybody hates Aaron Now.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
The last couple of days has all been Aaron Rodgers
is a bad leader, and Aaron Rodgers throws his teammates
under the bus. Aaron Rodgers. Why can't we blame him?
It's his fault. Why can't we blame Aaron Rodgers? Why
are we blaming people around him? It's like, this is
what everybody's been waiting for, been chomping at the bit
for Aaron Rodgers. Because I'm sick of the drama the

(23:16):
last couple of years. I'm sick of his crazy conspiracy
theory takes. I'm done. I'm just done talking about him.
So when the jets stink, now, I'm jumping on top
and I am going to jump on top of this
jet's corpse right now, and I'm going to see brains
leaking out from between people's ears because all of this,
this is Aaron Rodgers, the last couple of days, it's
his fault. We should blame him. He's a bad teammate,

(23:39):
he's a bad leader, he's past his prime. All of
this stuff right now, I can't say I disagree with
all of it.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
But none of this is new, none of we saw
from Aaron Rodgers, Jared Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Not going to take the blame for a lot of
stuffy ever, does like all of a sudden it's new
because that Mike Williams ran the wrong route? Should he
has said that? No, probably not, but that's what Rodgers
does it. And Aaron Rodgers is not going to be
at fault for what happens to Aaron Rodgers. However, I'm
gonna say this because this is the absolute truth right now,
and this is what's gonna make people foam at the
mouth that can't stand Aaron Rodgers and and makes people

(24:13):
like me nervous about how the rest of the season
is gonna go. Is that if you don't like him,
and you say he's a bad leader with the Jets,
he's a bad teammate, he's passed his prime. You want
to say all of these things, I'm gonna say, Okay,
you know what, can't say that yet. They're two and four,
they're into the seat, they just added DeVante Adams, they
have a lot of season in front of them.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
You can't say that yet. But here's the show today.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Right, all that, right, But here's the thing. It's not
like he's played poor. It's not like he's played awful, right.
I mean, he played pretty well in the last game.
The offense looked a lot better than it did. They
threw for three hundred yards, they ran for one hundred
and fifty yards. It was pretty good. But I will
say this because this is what this is. This makes
everybody happy, Because I could say something's gonna make everybody happy.

(24:55):
The rest of this season is a referendum on Aaron Rodgers.
The rest of this year, we're gonna find out if
he's a bad teammate, if he's passed his prime, if
he can't do it anymore.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
We're gonna find out. Can't hide from it. They have
everything they need, He has everything he needs.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
Twenty five teams in the NFL twenty five to twenty
seven quarterbacks are saying, man.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
I wish I had what he has. Garrett Wilson and
Devonte Adams.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Oh, by the way, Tyler Conklin's a pretty decent tight end,
Breist Hall and brayln Allen. A revamped offensive line that
is better than it was a year ago.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
I would love to have these skilled position.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Guys, We're gonna find out because now the rest of
the season is about Aaron Rodgers. Is he still good enough?
Can he do it that? The rest of this is
all about that. He can't hide, he can't say it's
somebody else's fault. They already fired one head coach, they
promoted a different guy to call in plays. They've done
everything for him to put him in a position to succeed.
Everything he's wanted he has gotten. He got his teammates.

(25:52):
Last year, he got whatever he wanted to have done
coaching wise. This year is done. He's gotten everything. There's
nothing else.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
To give him. There is nothing else to give him.
There's nothing.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
It's like, what can we do if something happens company?
There is nothing else to him, Like, Okay, I've given
you all I got. Now you gotta go do something.
Now you gotta go do it. The rest of this
season is a referendum on Aaron Rodgerson. All these things
that people are saying, Oh, he's done, he's a bad leader.
We're gonna find out. Like it's it's hey, hey, all
the talking that's done before a prize fight. This guy
can't do this. This guy can't do this. You know

(26:22):
what we're gonna find out because we see you, we
see you in the ring. We are now gonna find out.
And all this talk and everything else going on the
rest of this season, the last eleven games, the last
hang give we are gonna see how it goes, and
we're gonna have our answer on Aaron Rodgers by the
end of this season. He cannot hide from anything anymore.
So lovers and haters are all gonna get what they want.
They're gonna see it unfold in front of them because

(26:44):
he can't hide from it.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
No, that's the beauty of the NFL.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
Though week to week league, and we watch, we evaluate,
we listen to the quotes, and we react. Right, we
did it when he threw Williams under the bus immediately
on Monday night. Okay, what are we doing here? I mean, yes,
he did not run his red line and all of
that fun stuff, and every guy that ever played football decided, Hey,

(27:09):
we have to explain the red line in painstaking detail
and make sure that we don't talk about how Bree
Hall was jumping up and down, going me me. He
was Arnold Horseshack going back fifty years on telling you
got you gotta explain to Jen Xers, who Arnold Horshack?

Speaker 3 (27:27):
You forget about millennials, man, You gotta know, I'm trying
to think of other shows.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
I mean, it's every classroom show has the nerd that
wants to screen out. I know the answer, shut up,
not you? Okay, So horsseeshack and all the iterations thereafter.
Or think about your own school experience. Y'all had that
kid that you didn't like because they were a know
it all? That might have been me, I don't know,
but the idea being that that you had. Nobody had

(27:55):
the guts to ask him in that moment. It's like, hey, yeah,
well Mike and you what uh why not breeze Hall.
It's a thirty yard game, Aaron U and he hasn't
been perfect. The offensive line is still a great, great
concern to me.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
But that's it.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
We evaluate week to week through six weeks, and that
postgame presser, there was a lot to not like, three
winnable games for the ninth straight year, a three game
losing streak, all of which were winnable games. And then
when he had the opportunity to be instructive, constructive and say, hey,
we had a miscommunication. Nope, you took that guy out

(28:33):
back and you shoveled him to the head. That's what
you did to Mike Williams, and then immediately he's on
the trade block.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Come on, man, well look, look, clearly they needed to
find a way to get Devonte Adams, and that's how
they found a way to get to I mean, look,
if that's all you know, he like, look, and you
brought this guy in, that was your call.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
I want I want this other guy. Uh yeah, I
guess that's it. I mean, you know, distance yourself. You know,
he's dead to me. It's like, you know, Paulie handing
ray Leota three thousand dollars in Goodfellace, I kind of
turned my back for a lifetime.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Three thousand dollars for a lifetime. That's what's that now.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
But look, but that, but that's who Aaron Rodgers has been.
But you know, look for the flip side of it
real fast. It's not like Aaron Rodgers walked around the
last ten, twelve, fifteen years and his teammates all hate him. No,
I've not heard that. I've not heard one teammates. He's
an awful leader, he's awful, but it's just the I
hate Aaron Rodgers crowd is so loud now. And here's

(29:36):
the thing, Okay, are you a little people?

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Yeah? Well yeah, because exactly.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
It's it all goes into it, right, all goes into
the hopper with him, with with what he said, with
his conspiracy theory stuff, and.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Just sick in that.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
Yeah, and the fact that he sucks, well, no, come on,
he doesn't suck.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
The fact that you've been hearing about him for three years.
Like that's what it's like with with stars and celebrities
in the United States here. You know, we're into people
for a certain amount of time. Then it's like okay,
now we're done.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
Yeah, I'll bag what mos commercialize?

Speaker 1 (30:03):
You survive long enough to be the bad guy, right,
Like that's what it is. But but but that's the thing,
is that all that other stuff that's just kind of
here saying, oh, he's a better No, we're gonna find out,
We're gonna find out about it.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
We will get the answers. I'm telling you, the answers
are gonna be there.

Speaker 5 (30:15):
It was a terrible look in the moment, and we've
never had anybody come after him. Well for whatever reason,
maybe it's true. Maybe it's not, but everybody shut them out.
The only people that didn't like him were his family
or was it him all doing the non liking? Yeah,
the world may never know. There's a lot of non liking.
But none of them played for the Jets, so I'm
okay with it. I am all right with they don't

(30:37):
play this.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Uh time now to find out what's trending in the
wide world of sports. From a guy who was frantically
trying to find the Padres game on local television, it
is Brian Finley, BF, what do you got?

Speaker 6 (30:48):
Well, I thought you were going to say something like
and nowt to a guy who he really despise coming
off what you're talking about liking.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
But yeah, no, Brian Finley, I love you, despite the
fact that all season long it's been Jason, your Mets
are below my podres and who's sitting on the couch
right now?

Speaker 3 (31:03):
And who are we watching? One?

Speaker 6 (31:04):
Well, Jason, that is why I am now an adopted
Mets fan. Will you accept me as part of.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Your own How much money you got?

Speaker 6 (31:12):
I mean I can rub a couple of Nickels sandwiches, Yeah,
I can rub a couple.

Speaker 8 (31:15):
Of nets together. By Woods. Yeah, the jug of ice
cream or something.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
Long sandwiches, sandwiches and ice cream, sandwiches and ice.

Speaker 8 (31:22):
Cream, sandwiches and ice cream.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
All right, all right, I'm told that I need to
go through this rapid fire.

Speaker 8 (31:28):
So all right, here we go.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
Right now, guys, we're watching what's going on Game three
NLCS and you can watch this on FS one. The
Dodgers are in front foard to nothing against the Mets
top of the eighth, and the.

Speaker 8 (31:41):
Mets they've really struggled.

Speaker 6 (31:42):
They left a tonnement on base, including three in the bottom.

Speaker 8 (31:46):
Of the third.

Speaker 6 (31:47):
But as of right now, Dodgers are on their way
if they continue to play like this to taking a
two games to one lead in the series best to
seven series.

Speaker 8 (31:56):
They're playing this game three in New York.

Speaker 6 (31:58):
There was a game winner and buy Sabrina Ionescu for
the liberty eighty to seventy seven Liberty. Over the linksy,
I were talking WNBA.

Speaker 8 (32:06):
It's game three of the.

Speaker 6 (32:07):
WNBA Finals, and I'll work it right back to you
guys here on this note.

Speaker 8 (32:12):
And that is Kevin Durant. When he's not trolling on
X he.

Speaker 6 (32:15):
Did tweet out quote cold blooded killer and then added
Sabrina close quote, considering that she hit the twenty eight
foot three pointer to give the Liberty that fifteen point
comeback win. They were down fifteen points in Game three,
so as they get it back to you, Mike Carmen
and Jason Smith, they can't help.

Speaker 8 (32:33):
But think about you, Jason.

Speaker 6 (32:35):
I don't even think you could reach the rim trying
to take a shot from twenty eight feet.

Speaker 8 (32:39):
But that's another story.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
What about Sorry, I can't hear you, friendly because.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
I'm all the way up here in the playoffs and
you're all the way in the offseason. So I really
can't hear you because I'm still all the way up
here and you're all the way down there.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
I was calling in from Cancun.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
I can't hear it. Crystal clear right there.

Speaker 9 (32:56):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Brian Fentley.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon Live the Tirack
dot Com Studios coming up next. Well, Davante Adams trade,
the Amari Cooper trade. You want to talk about a
team that says, hey, we didn't need to make a trade.
Wait what they made a trade?

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Ty shirt?

Speaker 8 (33:13):
Sorry didn't I didn't allow it.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
One team says we didn't need to make any trades,
and they absolutely had to.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
That's coming up next right here, Jason and Mike fod
Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (33:25):
Jason, is Amari Cooper really a trade?

Speaker 3 (33:28):
Yes, it is time. Dick's by Jelli.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon Jason Street.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
Like two birds in the air.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
The Dodgers now lead by a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
Show hail Tony with an upper deck three run home
run off of Tyler McGill. This ball was gone the
moment it was off his bat. It was just a
question to whether or not it was gonna stay fair
near the top of the upper deck ad City Field,
a three run homer.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Dodgers lead at.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Seven to nothing now on the top of the eighth
inning and well on their way to a two games
to one lead in the NLCS.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
On the high way through the valley.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
That's some dopey, terrible managing one out a guy who
is sixteen for nineteen now seventeen for twenty with runners
in scoring position and absolutely murdering the ball.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
And there's an empty base. I get it.

Speaker 5 (34:42):
Everybody's got to move up ninety feet. You got one out,
put them on.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
It's another perfect day.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
I don't know that there was anything that to help
them met tonight. This is just this is a perfect
day for the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
It's everything they couldn't step it. You better man with
a really a pressing song by the way.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
It is, it is it is, But but you think
you know it's good, kind of like when they play
time of your Life by Green Day. No, it's actually
a very sad song about a bad breakup. But oh
it's great time of your life.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
You know it's not the press when you're a Dodger fan.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
No, No, I mean a lot of celebration right now,
pulling all the strings and you know there there you
have it.

Speaker 4 (35:22):
And Jason, you're gonna wear these runs like it's your jockstrap. Latest.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
I'm already wearing them. Did you order another Chicken Big Mac?

Speaker 2 (35:30):
No?

Speaker 1 (35:30):
I may need I mean I may need chicken Big
Max after the night is over. I may need Chicken
Big Max after this. Here's the best part. Another game tomorrow. Right,
have to wait a couple of days and say another
game tomorrow. It's okay, we're bouncing right back.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
It's going to come back for more.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Bouncing right back. You get bouncing right coming back for more. Uh,
you should have never come back. Uh.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Set more in this game coming up in a few minutes. Again,
Dodger's about to take a two games to one lead
in the NLCS. But after all the big trades the
last couple of days. So a wide receiver go to
the Jets, wide receiver go to the Bills. No wide
receivers to the Kansas City Chiefs, who are now running
with Carlos Carson as their number one receiver. Patrick Mahomes
today was asked about hey, didn't get a wide receiver.

(36:12):
He talks about how happy he was. He's okay with
the wide receivers they have, and look the Chiefs are.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
Five and oh happy with my guys.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
I just every day I spend the first like three
four hours seeing what if my wife and my brother
said anything social media. There's pictures anywhere. I got a
very busy day. It's a full day that I go
to practice and then I leave and they come back.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
To a lot of stuff happening.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
So he says he's happy with the Kansasity Chiefs wide receivers. Okay,
what's he gonna say? Exactly what do you expect to say? Now,
this guy's all stak man. These guys are all terrible.
It's that terrible man.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
That's it. Terrible. They can't catch the ball. They're all awful.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
Of course, that's what he's gonna say. But you know,
the Chiefs are in on a trade. You know, they
need at least one wide receiver because while it's good
enough now, and it's good enough to be five and oh,
they've played well enough, they're escaping. This is not an
offensive juggernaut team.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
Right.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Mahomes has been a game manager for the last year
and a half. Right, we have enough a sample size
to know that, Right, that's kind of what they are.
They need more weapons. If you are talking about, hey,
what's the best way we can navigate through January and
February and into the super Bowl. It's just that they're
not going to pay any price right now because it's

(37:23):
still a long time away from the deadline and the
Chiefs have all kinds of time. Right, they're five and zher,
they're undefeated, They're at the top of the division, half
of the division, is terrible. The Chargers are the only
team that are halfway decent, so they know, listen, we
have time to make the right trade and we're not
gonna have to go overboard. We're gonna find somebody who
wants out at some point, as when the losing keeps
getting more. You know, Deontay Johnson wants to stay a

(37:45):
Carolina Panther for now, but if it comes out that
he could be a chief who knows how it's gonna go.
They will absolutely get at least one. I'll say even
I'll go. I'll say they get two new wide receivers
they bring in by the deadline. But they're not gonna
be antsy. They don't need to be proactive because they're
five to zero and everything is good. But they will
get at least one, maybe two guys at the deadline

(38:06):
to bring in because they're not going to go with
this team and try to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (38:09):
Yeah, I mean, coming out of a bye week and
watching the other movement in the AFC, certainly you're gonna
look around and test the uh test the waters. Maybe
not actively calling just yet, but reviewing depth charts and
where teams are. I mean, there's always the potential you
bring back MVS unless Aaron Rodgers commands that he shows

(38:30):
up in New York because he just got released by
the Bills with their acquisition of Amari Cooper.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
So you know, there's still gonna be movement.

Speaker 5 (38:39):
Still plenty of guys who are disgruntled and teams that
are already recognizing, hey, if we can get a mid
round draft pick or conditionals based on some of this
that it's all in our best interest to do so.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
So Yeah, for the Chiefs, the roster's not nearly done.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
The other thing you forgot is Mahomes no doubt rapt
attention watching Travis Kelcey's new game show today as well.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
Oh you know I watched that today was good.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
It was how do I say this, the Travis No,
the Travis Kelcey Game Show was, Boy, how do I
explain that? How do exe the Travis was a celebrity
we've ever heard of?

Speaker 4 (39:22):
Because anything like his play of recent it probably sucked.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
I could have used more Nicki Glazer. That's one hundred percent,
can use my way more Nicky Glazer talking about over
exposed very fast. Yeah, it was, it was. It was
something that was on TV. I'll say that that's okay good.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
Coming up next, more reaction from the last big twenty
four hours in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (39:39):
This is Fox Sports Radio for eight in the ninth
inning to win.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
Well, what are you going to do?

Speaker 1 (39:44):
I don't know, but I'm allowed to do something really
really bad to you. I'm allowed to do something really
really like I'm allowed to drive your.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
Car into the river.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
How about you get a run first?

Speaker 1 (39:54):
The long road begins with that first weetet eight in
the ninth I can drive your car into the rest.
I'll just put the I'll put one of those cinder
blocks on the gas pedal and just watch it go
into the river.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
Well, you know what happens when you mess with me?
You got to go through j Cole.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Big news in the NFL, to break down nobody better
than longtime NFL insider. Check him out thirty thirteen on
Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two haul of very good voter.
A man who may or may not be watching the
Mets and the Dodgers right now.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
It is Jason Cole. What's happening, buddy.

Speaker 9 (40:30):
I'm just enjoying the music, baby, I'm just going with it,
just loving it. But I have a couple of things
I wanted to say. I won't quote kikey Hernandez, but
I will say kik and I will say show hey,
and finally I will say beelerk heeler, beeler, beeler, feluk

(41:04):
fry fry fry feeler, Hi feeler.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
Buller.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
Love you guys, Celebrate you guys, celebrate Game three? Yeah,
you're like when I watched the Brewers in the series
with the Mets, Did I get a one two three fourth.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Inning and go up? They just want the pennant?

Speaker 9 (41:32):
Don't even? Don't you guys?

Speaker 3 (41:33):
Are you guys are celebrating the Game three?

Speaker 9 (41:36):
Women the World Series? I have got I got one
question for you, whiny boy, okay wi which hurts worse
the fact that you just got road graded by the
Dodgers tonight or the fact that you're your quarterback rogue
grade in one of the teammates this week.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
Oh let's say, wait a minute, he wrote graded Mike Williams,
but we got Davante Adams.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
That's a win, I tell yeah.

Speaker 9 (42:01):
I think that's I'm sure, I'm sure that that that
that locker rooms really feeling the quarterback right now? He's
really Yeah, Oh, No, he had nothing. He had nothing
to do with Soli getting fired. No, not a word. No.
The owner called me the night before, but he didn't
say anything to me about whether Solig is fired. And
now I throw Mike Williams, you know, under the bus,

(42:25):
because I know I'm getting Devanta Adams. That's a hell
of a teammate right now. That's great. And by the way,
you know how that burst that that you know that
really pushed that Woody Johnson did. How'd that go? Oh?
And finally, Greg Zerlin, how's that? How's that going? You're
liking that? Greg Zerlin? How many games as he caught?

Speaker 7 (42:44):
You?

Speaker 9 (42:44):
Aredic?

Speaker 3 (42:45):
Stop stop, he's already dead. You feel good now, I mean,
if you feel.

Speaker 4 (42:51):
Good, get him with the mony home run real quick.

Speaker 3 (42:53):
I know this is the best ten minutes of your week.
You feel good.

Speaker 9 (42:58):
It's glorious. It's you know what, it's a very good week.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
Oh good, Okay, very good. I'm glad.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
But you know what, you know, it's game three. This
is not game it's not Game six that you not
win to go to. But yeah, celebrate game three like
the series is over.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
Okay, that's cool. That's all good man, it's all good.

Speaker 9 (43:15):
Well I did. I did text my friend who's a
Cowboys fan that you know, I you know, I took heart.
He should take heart. In effect that the Dodgers scored
as much as the Cowboys, you know, on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (43:30):
I think the next defense tonight has been as bad
as the Cowboys on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
So there's that too.

Speaker 9 (43:36):
Just think chat ular. I'll say this, as bad as
your day is right now today, as bad as this
week has been with the Jets, you know on Monday,
the whole thing, you know, all of that, you know,
at least you're not Jerry Jones. No, at least at

(43:56):
least you're not trying to at least you're not trying
to get a couple of radio it's fired during the
middle of the week.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
Well, that's my whole thing.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
All I gotta do is take a tape of this
segment or whatever you say for the last last few
times you've been on, send it to Jerry Jones. He'll
have you fired or removed as a Hall of Fame voter.

Speaker 9 (44:13):
Well, since I voted him, man, I think he owes me.
So that's right.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
He's trying to get Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (44:20):
You have, we have the evidence of you saying I'm
getting all the cowboys out of the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 9 (44:25):
We j oh No, I never said Jerry. I said
all the other players saw absolutely, but Jerry I actually
spoke up for I have to own Jerry because I
spoke up in his on his behalf. So I did
say that. Yes, So I own that one. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (44:47):
So what do you make of the whole thing with
Jerry Jones?

Speaker 1 (44:50):
You're going join a lunatic on the radio host in Dallas.

Speaker 9 (44:55):
Uh, it's just the you know, angry old man embarrassed.
I mean like they're like, this is this is a
kin to Tom Landry going one in fifteen, because at
least with Tom Landry when they went one in fifteen,
you knew that was a bad thing. You know, they

(45:16):
had they had cratered, the roster was old. You know,
Danny White was shot, the whole you know everything about
when they went one in fifteen and everything went off
the rails, and then Jerry took over and they brought
in Jimmy. That's the whole thing. You knew that was coming.
Jerry made a promise like you can't escape the two

(45:39):
magic words, the five little letters of all in you
just cannot escape that ever, to say that you're all
in and then you put this product on the field.
And I know they have some excuses defensive lineman out
and Michaelpartment, but this is just horrendous. I mean, it's really,
really truly horrendous because as bad as the defense has been,

(46:01):
the offense has stunk too. It's just that the defense
is covering up for how bad the offense is.

Speaker 5 (46:07):
That certainly has helped. You know, we got Smith getting
his guy in trade. Meanwhile, Buffalo makes the move to
bring in Amari Cooper, while Stefanski still has to say
Deshaun Watson is our guy. It is really an interesting
week in the National Football League.

Speaker 9 (46:25):
It feels so bad for Stefanski, like he just you know,
like every day do you do you just sit there
and go how do I say this? Like do you
rehearse the speech where you say to the owner, look,
this has got to stop. I've got to take a
stand for my team. Or do you just continue to

(46:47):
swallow your pride and wait for the owner to come around,
Like do you just which way do you go? Do
you go in and say, look, let me out of this,
because if you're not going to bench him. We're not
going to allow me to bench him. Let me go
and go get a job somewhere else. Do you do that?
Or do you or do you just you know, swallow

(47:09):
your pride? What do you? What do you do? If
you're Stefanski At this point in time, he is totally
and completely trapped, and I know that by default he's
made the decision to swallow his pride to take this.
But man, it's I just I feel so bad for
him because I don't, Man, I don't know what's going
to work with Deshaun Watson. I mean, I don't know

(47:29):
if he's done or not. But this is just every
bad thing that you can do to yourself, you know,
to undermine your career, you know, starting with everything that
he did in Houston, all the trouble he got into
in Houston, and then doing the deal with the Devil,
where you took the money to go to a place
that you never wanted to play for. You never wanted

(47:52):
to be in Cleveland. You're never going to be happy there.
You wanted to go to Carolina, you wanted to go
to Atlanta. Do you want to be at one of
those two plays? But you took the deal with the devil,
and you took all the money, and now you're completely
and totally miserable in the way that you're playing because
you're putting like zero effort into this.

Speaker 1 (48:15):
Jason Call with Us, the Jason Smithszer with Mike Carmen
live from the tiraq dot Com Studios.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
You know, I come at it from this. Jay Cole
is like, Okay, I get the hole.

Speaker 1 (48:24):
They're stuck. He's got the contract. They can't get out
of it. Okay, they can pay they don't have to
play him. I mean, I don't know if I.

Speaker 3 (48:31):
Think people do't understand that. Okay, yeah, you have to
pay him, you do all this. I get. You don't
have to play him.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
You have another guy on the team that might actually
be a little bit better. You could go to Jameis Winston.
You still, with all this, still been able to fit
in a backup quarterback that's been dynamic in the past.
That's what I just can't get past is that, yes,
you have to pay him, but he doesn't have to
be on the field.

Speaker 9 (48:52):
Tell that to the owner who guaranteed all the money.
That's it's that you don't have to do this.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
You don't you don't.

Speaker 9 (49:03):
I mean, like it's so it sounded so good coming
out of your mouth that way. Now you have to
walk to the owner's office and say, yeah, the guy
you promised two hundred over two hundred million dollars only
guaranteed and gave up a truckload of picks, I'm mentioning
that guy, how do you feel? How do you feel?
Jimmy has one? You know, I mean Jimmy Hasom's already

(49:24):
been made to look like a fool for his entire
time as an owner of the Cleveland brown including the
famous story that Seth wickersm did about you know, the
I can't even get into her. I'll get banned from
your program permanently if I discuss that one. But just
say it's two letters that rhyme and yeah, like just

(49:49):
not good.

Speaker 3 (49:49):
Right.

Speaker 9 (49:50):
But everything that they've done with the Browns since they
took over this team has just been a mess. And
this is the coup de gras. You're going to be
the one who marches in there and says I'm benching
Deshaun Watson to just further cement the biggest embarrassment of

(50:11):
what has been an atrocious career as an owner of
a team, that's what you're gonna do.

Speaker 3 (50:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (50:19):
I just like the fact that you have to say,
he's the best chance we have to win.

Speaker 3 (50:22):
Meanwhile, you trade away.

Speaker 5 (50:23):
Your best and your wide receiver to Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
What's he do in that offense?

Speaker 5 (50:29):
How quickly does it take to get acclimated with Brady
and Josh Allen over there.

Speaker 9 (50:35):
I think that they'll you know, they'll give him five
or pattern the first, you know, the first week, and
then I'll get the work his way after ten or twelve.
I mean, this is a veteran guy who's been around.
He'll be okay, and this for what they need. They
just need a guy that's dependable. And he's still a
really really good route runner. He's a terrific route runner

(51:00):
out of Chastit he once was, but he can run
round and his hands are good. So he'll fit in
for what they need. And that takes a little of
pressure off of key On Coleman. Yeah. They were expecting
that Dalton Kincaid was going to come a lot, a
lot further, a lot faster and sort of take up
a lot of these and that just hasn't happened the
way they expected. And they've had the lean on the

(51:20):
receivers too much. But you know, Cooper will be fine
in that.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two.

Speaker 9 (51:27):
That is, at Jason Cole's again.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
Hate nothing, he ate nothing.

Speaker 1 (51:33):
It's okay, Hey, listen, I wonder you know, Look, we
didn't get to do this, but I'm sure you're going
to change. From getting the Cowboys out of the Hall
of Fame to keeping Chris Berman out of the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 3 (51:44):
Oh my god, he's made the court.

Speaker 9 (51:48):
What the hell is going on? Mane but broadcasters saying later,
I'm out.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harvin Live the tirect
dot Com Studios. I mean, I thought he was gonna
bring it up, but he got He got caught up
with the Mets and the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
It happens, and oh that's funny.
