Buying should be.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Friday.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yes, big Friday and a happier Friday for some teams
than others. But I Mike, we need to do this
right away out of the gate, because.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Whenever you find the monkeys, no no, no, when telling
you Blood of the Apes is real, it's happening. Where
in the day, I saw an update that said there
was still no resolution as to their whereabouts.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Well, I did.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
See one video from South Carolina. It was really grainy,
but I did see one somebody with a camera, uh
bring it up to one of the one of the
monkeys and was saying, hey, do you need help? And
the monkey went family and then went back.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Into the woods.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
So I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I mean, maybe it might be happening. I don't know,
it might be happening. Caesar, can we get you for
a quick quotes Caesar? Caesar quick quotes Caesar.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
From running out of the woods, all dressed in Mets
World Series gear that got dumped.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
No, no, come on, let's be right, it's Yankees World
Series gear. Oh okay, Yankees World serious gear. But anytime
we make a good prediction on the show, uh, and
then we have to move up the timeline we got
to start with because we told you, hey, you know,
about a week ago, we said, listen, this is you know,
starts in all everything. I know it's early in the season,

(02:10):
but hey, the Bucks are an absolute mess and Doc
Rivers may not make it to Christmas. Okay, now after tonight,
now they are playing second night of back to backs.
They play the Knicks and the Knicks just absolutely beat them,
and they just bludgeon them. The Bucks are never in
this game, watching this get They just look like a
team that was out there playing. And I know it's

(02:31):
back to back, but it's on the schedule. They never threatened,
They never looked like they had anything more than here's
a bunch of guys out there just playing basketball. They
dropped to two and seven, and now I gotta say,
you know what, Doc may not make it to Thanksgiving
because remember Thanksgiving is later this year. Yeah, we got
another tw it's not in a week, you know. No,
it's not till the twenty eighth to another twenty days

(02:52):
to Thanksgiving. Doc might not. I mean really, at their
two and seven and you're talking about their next game
is Sunday against Ball, right then the schedule kind of
lightens up a little bit. But you're gonna be starting
two and eight and at one point, at some point,
it's gonna be well, what do we do. Do we
get a new coach or do we wait for Giannis

(03:12):
to say he wants out? Or do wait for Damian
Lillard to say I want out? Get me to the
heat That's where I always wanted to be. I mean,
we said Doc wasn't gonna make it to Christmas. Now
I gotta move that up because now he really is again,
only because Thanksgiving is later. It's later this year, he
may not make it to Thanksgiving. That's more the accurate
prediction right now.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Yeah, the big thing is you can't even sell me
on the back to back notion, because yesterday's game was
an absolute beatdown of the hapless woe be gone Utah Jazz. Right,
twenty three point victory. You use the word.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Woe be gone.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I don't know if that's ever been you. It sounds
like ed TJ. Maybe the Jazz are woe be gone
Kenobi this year? Nice with their start TJ.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Yeah, I just pulled a really nice obi wan Kenobi kart.
We'll talk about it later. But twenty three point victory,
which means not a lot of stressful minutes and not
a lot of minute it's being played by your starters
as you're finishing the job, which meant hey look ahead
to New York and another opportunity. And we'd seen a
couple of their last losses, right, they were finally closed
one point loss to the Calves. Then they come back

(04:14):
and they lose another game to the Calves only by two,
but otherwise, going back to early in the season, they
were getting their asses beat with regularity in double digits.
And here's another game where the Knicks go out and
blitz them. So yeah for the Bucks. A lot of
finger pointing and questioning coming up. We'll get more hot
takes on Giannis and and people going to all their

(04:36):
various sources because this is my favorite. Like, he's not
going anywhere. Well, I have sources that say he's unhappy
and wants to go I Eventually we're gonna have insiders
and NBA scribes fighting at center court over Yeah, well
my guy's closer to Yannis. Well my guy may or
may not be his brother. Whoa, And then we'll have fights.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
No, you know, you know what the best part of
it's gonna be is that, like it'll get to that
point and Yannis will ask for it. Look, he's he's
got a contract from that. You can't opt out and
go to free agency. He's got to get a trade.
He's got to demand a trade. And we hear varying
reports about how happy he is. But if that happens
and Yanna says, I want out, I want to get somewhere,
all of a sudden, the most upset person in the
world is gonna be Joel Embiid because he's going, that's

(05:18):
supposed to be me.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
That's supposed to be me getting out that I'm unhappy
and I want out.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
It's supposed to be me. How is it Giannis? All
of as su I was leading up to this moment
for so long. Look, I even got suspended when I'm
not even playing yet.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
That's really hard to do. What I got suspended?

Speaker 4 (05:33):
How is it not me?

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Yannis is gonna go where I want to go.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
He's gonna have all the things I want, and he's
gonna be like Saliarian Amadeus, going, why is this kid
who gets playing the piano that way? I'm a guy,
I study, I knew all this stuff, but look at
this kid just shows up and he plays a piano
and the magic flute and all this stuff. I'm very
upset now. I bet that's what's gonna wind up being that.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
And you got the Smurfs and the magic fluted. Nicely done.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
I did. I did.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
I didn't know if I'd get that because you know,
you know, I got that in today because I heard
rock me Amadaeus for the first time. It was a
good It was a good rock me Ama Dais because
it was the one where they had the story of
his life in the middle.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Oh nice.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Sixteen forty five, Wolfgang, I'm a Dais. Mozart becomes a freemason.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
You don't often get the free mason. It seems like
they try to avoid that one us to go, you know,
into politics, sex, colt swear or any of those kind
of things in our world.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Sixteen fifty five Mozart, Mary's constant waiver. You know, it's like, oh,
I know all about up a days because that's a shit.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Well it's funny because I also in my time, i'd
had a you know, Frankie goes to Hollywood Live version
of Relax and it was a video from some performance
on a talk show and out of the out of
nowhere comes Lemmy Killmeister, who grabs the woman that's sitting
there dancing with him and walks off stage with her.
So you never know what you're gonna get in your timeline.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
In September that same year, Mozart dies. It's like, oh,
you had to take it down, didn't you. Okay, that's
that's that's the last one. That's the last one. That's
like I think, honestly, kids would have learned better. That
was an unbelievable way to have kids learn about history.
Oh that was just such a one off song in
the eighties that like, you could have done that for anything.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
You could have done all did it.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
You could have done instead of rock me Ami day As,
you could have done rock me George Washington or so,
and it would have been like the big precursor to Hamilton.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
You would have known all about that stuff.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
See, now you've figured out the next next line of
alongside your radio career. When you've got some extra time,
No no, no, stop playing your spider Solitaire. Now it's
time to learn an instrument and start writing some sick
beats about history.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I'm gonna go learn about umdas mota.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Really.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Oh that sounds interesting. What'd you do?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
I listened to rock Me Ambi day As forty seven
times in a row, and I wrote down all the infront.
I couldn't get it all the first a few times around,
but then I got everything down at the end. I'm
gonna study that now I know it. So if I
ever a test on Mozart, I know. I mean, I've
known Constance Weber's name since I was sixteen years old.
Don't have never seen what she looks like. I did,
but I know Constant Waiver because of that.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Now an artists rendering of Constance.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
In November of that same year, the Bucks fired Doc Rivers.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Every team could have their own thing.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Oh that's good.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
In July of that year, the Bucks hired Doc Rivers.
In January the same year, Doc Rivers is fired.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
What's that new compilation album? I here? It's three or
four dislung. It's called timeline.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Oh, I mean, look, I don't crack.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Is the timeline of a player or team something glory
or fall from grace?

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Well, that's what it's always.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
It's always taking flight if you're new, and it's called
to glory if you win the first time, and return
to glory if you're winning.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
For the second time.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Okay, that's like every NFL films Year in review, it's
every single one.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
It's taking flight, call the glory, return to glory. That's
all you have.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
That's all you have, because that's all NFL you're they're
starting over, and then you know when they show hardly
any highlights from the season, maybe the one or two
games you win and then all here's but here's a
new coach who has hired, here's a draft pick, or
or you win it all, or you're a team that's
won it all before you win it all again. That's
why three ways that's on. That's only three teams in
the NFL. You think you guys all these different tiers

(09:19):
of teams as contenders, pretender spell you're either starting out
on your on your quest to win it all, you
win it all, or you've won it all again.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
That's it. Three teams, that's all.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
You really kind of went down and you added a
third category. Otherwise you're really sounding like Ricky Bobby.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Look, tonight's also gonna be a big college football night
as well. Coming up in a few minutes, we're gonna
preview the biggest games of the weekend too, incredibly large
games to take a look at ones a loser, leave
town match when it comes to the playoff. But you know,
right now, big college football game on Fox tonight watching
Iowa and UCLA, and this game is tied to ten apiece,
and I gotta say, Mike, you know it's I've avoided

(09:57):
doing this because I just feel so bad, you know,
living living in LA But it's really it's time to
put UCLA into the Sports Stonehenge Ucla football and go
on the Sports Stone.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
What they get if they hire Peak?

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Yeah, I Do're gonna say what if they hire Pete Carroll?

Speaker 5 (10:14):
Now?

Speaker 1 (10:14):
I I mean, I mean, you know, you know sports
in case you don't know, sports Stonehenge is what we
refer to as teams who meant something a long time ago,
but no one really understands what it was. No one,
no one really remembers why this team meant so so well,
it meant so much to people because now they're just
a bunch of guys that are the team is in

(10:35):
disrepair and they're not playing well. Kind of like you
go to Stonehenge and you go, I don't I don't
know why is this such a big deal? Nobody knows,
but it was a big deal a long time ago.
Like UCLA football at three and five, Uh is there
and it's and it's not gonna get better because in
the Big Ten, like okay, US can go to the
Big Ten. You can think, all right, maybe uh they
could wind up winning some games. Maybe Lincoln Riley gets it.

(10:55):
You know another, you know, one hundred and five hundred
and ten plays go differently. Usc he's undefeated the last
couple of years. But you know, they tell me, but
UCLA is in here just to get drubbed, like UCLA's
here for teams to take the trip to LA for
recruiting and.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
All kinds of other reasons.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
But UCLA football man sports stonehenge hundred percent.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yeah, it's funny, right, because they're playing a bit better
of late, so you know, trying to find some semblance
of consistency. Tonight, running the ball very effectively against Iowa
with about nine minutes left in the first half. It's
now ten to ten with seven minutes remaining, but with
about nine and a half minutes remaining, I scrawled down
the quick little graphic one hundred and six rushing yards

(11:36):
for Ucla to nine from Iowa, and they've moved the
ball effectively through a pick in the end zone. So,
you know, showing some signs of life. But overall, yeah,
I mean, you got to go back to Kate McNown
to where you had a high flying attack that really
resonated and coming into the conference, it's all about how

(11:57):
you're going to shift with the friends in styles, and
as we know, the cliche of cliches styles make fights.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Man sports another team. Welcome, Welcome, you see a good
rock Sportstone Inch Welcome.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Will they painted blue like you painted it orange when
you visited?

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Maybe they might?

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Maybe I was not me the painted I did go
there the week after it got painted orange, but I
did not pay it.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Was not sending someone ahead.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
I was not.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
I'm figuring, all right, I'll have this guy do it
and then while it's still kind of orange, I'll get
my photo op and nobody will be any of the wiser.
Not me.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Not I was.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Again, I was there the week after it got painted orange,
and they didn't close it down. The people did it
and just kind of sat there, waited for the police
and was like, not that bad, because I asked the
guys when I went there, I said, hey, what happened
when they painted this thing orange? A couple of weeks ago?
I thought this is gonna be the most exciting thing ever.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
In stone It.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Jayda said, oh, yeah, well you know the police game
they sat after and then you know the paint just
kind of fell off after Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Yeah, yeah, okay.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
The museum folks when you know these whatever you'd like
to call them, hoodlums is what I call them. I'm
going to an art museum and splash pain or whatever.
And because they're protesting something, nobody gets really excited, because
you know what, a lot of times it's a reproduction on.

Speaker 1 (13:12):

Speaker 3 (14:22):
No, can't get that. I gotta talk to you about history,
ty Shirt.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Okay, about Wolfgang amadais pe Alonzo Mozart.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
You could have learned about him, but no, no, no, no, no, no,
very gentleman names.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
I just want to continue to troll you with a
song that I know makes you upset. Now put you
in an upset frame of mind.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Just accept and we can move on. Could have just
played rock Me Amadayas. Could have just played that, tell
Mike pop pop hoop hoop hoop hoop hop pop pop
hop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Poc The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon live the
tire rack dot Com Studios. We're gonna take a look
at the two biggest games in college football coming up
in a couple minutes. But first, Lakers playing the Sixers tonight.
Still know Joel Embiid still not healthy and not legally
cleared to play it because there's a suspension. But things
afoot already with the Lakers. We talked about this the

(15:12):
other night that it just took two weeks and the
Lakers have broken. JJ Reddick right, very upset with the
Angelo Russell pulled him out of the game. Wouldn't really
talk about it in detail the other night, dropped the mic,
very upset leaving the press conference. What he was asked
a question about how do you get through to a
guy like D'Angelo Russell. Well, apparently JJ Reddick is trying
because D'Angelo Russell not in the starting lineup for the

(15:36):
Lakers tonight. Instead Cam Reddish x Nick maybe now good
in the starting lineup for the Lakers. They're leading the
Sixers right now twenty one to ten, so hey.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
It's working.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
But this goes into and Cam Reddish is the guy
that just hit a big three. Look, this goes into
where the Lakers are and what they might need to
do at some point during the season. And look, I've
talked aboutd' Angelo Russell. Yeah, oh, Jeni Ruddy's gonna come in.
He'snna unleash d'An angelo Russell. Yeah, you know what if
it's if if you wanted him to come in and

(16:08):
unleash D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reeves. Yeah, okay, but these
guys have been in the league a little bit, right,
I mean, Reeve's not as much, so maybe he's a
little The younger players are always more open to coaching
and changing. But d'anngel Russell's been in the league a
long time. It's his second stint with the Lakers.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
He is who he is.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
You're not gonna suddenly commit and say, oh, I'll coach
that guy up. Yeah, I know, the guy's been in
the league for almost a decade now. He's not gonna
suddenly change who he is. This is what it is
to think you're gonna come in and change that. It's
not gonna work younger players. Yeah, And the best thing
for the Lakers to do right now, honestly, is to
get him back to the point where they where his
images is rehabilitated, to where they don't think there's a problem,

(16:46):
because you know, getting benched after two weeks is not
a great look. And he's gotta be a guy that
they dangle with somebody else at the trade deadline, and
I'm telling you I'm gonna I'm gonna say it right now,
because I'm gonna say it. Between from now to February,
there's gonna be some kind of trade because you're gonna
watch the Phoenix Suns kind of fall out of contention.
You see the love fest that has gone on in

(17:07):
the last year, especially with Kevin Durant Lebron Browny taking
pictures before the games. Kevin Durant's going to be a
Laker at the trade deadline, and it's gonna be D'angela
Russell and another good player like maybe in Austin Reeves
or something else that's gonna go to Phoenix to try
to be the big impetus for the Lakers to get
through if the big trade I'm seeing the deadline. Absolutely,

(17:28):
Kevin Durant's gonna be a Laker.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Let's see, we've got eighteen nineteen million dollars thereabouts for
D'angela Russell on that deal. Tonight Suns with a thriller
ahead of this Laker start fourteen thirteen in the final
over the Mavericks, Durant twenty six, five and four for
the victorious Suns so eight and one thus far, and

(17:52):
those trade wins are pretty calm. Right now, the flags
are hugging the polls.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Okay, I like that now that I'm picturing, like like
the old uh Yankee Stady when Burman would do the
highlights and go and the New York Football Giants see
the big penance all sway at the top of the stadium.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Gun he goes into the highlight of the game.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Sure, sure, it's pretty good. I mean I really painted
a picture for America and the Globe right there. Our
friends in Australia knew exactly what I was trying to
be Sure.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Hey, we're afternoon driving Australia. Don't worry about that.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Got it a big deal, no question about it.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Uh So again we'll keep updated on this game again.
Eleven point lead by the Lakers. Look, Cam Reddish has
always had the talent. He's just never figured out a
way to put it together. He's a guy that JJ
Reddit could potentially a Let me try to see what
I can do with him, because he's never really had
the chance. But like you think, Oh Russell, he's still young.
He's to It's been around way too long, man. This
is kind of who he is. You have to know

(18:47):
the players that you can mold and get them to
buy in and play, and he's not one of them.
I mean, I don't know, man. I mean, look, you
want him to be some kind of of asset if
you can trade him. And at this point, it's Hey,
he just trying to get his image of the point
where teams will see him. Oh, if he's thrown into
a deal to make the money work, all that might
be able.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
To be okay for us.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
And then you have to throw in another good player
with them that people actually really want, and then you
can make that trade and then it'll work.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
I just remember Cam Raddish coming into the league. You
know how young he was and everything else. He turned
twenty five on September first. Yeah, this is his sixth year.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
You know.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
It could also be that the Dodgers are at the
game tonight, like Freddie Freeman and a bunch of Dodgers
are at the Laker game. And if the Lakers actually struggled,
just but Freddy Freeman in and then that's all you need.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
That's not a bad way to go. And I mean
a couple of guys were at Disneyland earlier today.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Yeah, I mean it would be tough seeing Freddie Freeman
hobble up and down the court. It would be a
little bit, but you know, look, he's just gonna hit
a home run, so it doesn't matter.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
You can go on. I mean, he could play like
Captain in his final year, find a nice spot on
the court where he's deadly.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
We'll got more basketball coming up throughout the show.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Again, big lead for the Lakers right now over the
Sixers playing without Joel Embiid, without Doc Rivers, without Julius Serving.
I'm trying to think brother Docs without Doc. Hollywood with
you guys.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
So yeah, what do you have to do from the
seven Dwarfs?

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Jam Reddish's trade value right now? Is that an all
time high?

Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah, you might be able to make that trade now
for KD cam Reddish after another who Sandwich, Cam Reddish
and D'Angelo Russ.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Come on, let's do it now.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
It's like those fantasy trades you have to make when
a guy has a really big game. It's like, if
I don't trade him now and he has a bad game,
nobody's gonna want him.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
I gotta make that trade now, now.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Now, now, now, now, all eat some spinach and then
hit the blue button in your face.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Okay, in the face, head of face.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
All right.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
So looking ahead to tomorrow, two big games on the
college football schedule, and one I have to give credit to,
even though I have been extremely critical of them for
most of the season and their head coach. But and
it's kind of weird to say this, but I have
to give Deon Sanders in Colorado a lot of credit
because they did something and they've been doing something I

(20:55):
didn't think they could do. They're just playing football. I
didn't think they could do that. I didn't think Deon
Sanders could be someone who was out of the headlines,
who wasn't gonna stir the pot every week with some
kind of controversy, whether it's.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Real or made up, or it's the media's.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Fault for this. You saw the way the season started.
It looked like it was gonna dovetail into ridiculousness. And
you had Schadur Sanders throwing his offensive line under the
bus after the lost in Nebraska. It's all this is
gonna be it. But Colorado has done something I didn't
think they could do. They have just shut up, put
their heads down and played great football. The last few
weeks to the point now they're six and two and

(21:34):
maybe a little bit inflated. They're ranking a little inflated
because it's Deonus Colorado and you do have two of
the best players in the country on your team, and
maybe the players are go one to two in the
draft next year with Travis Hunter and Shudua Sanders.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
But they're back.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Into the the fringe of contention for the playoff, and
certainly tomorrow's a big one with Texas Tech because Texas
Tech is pretty good, but their defense is awful. But
I gotta give Colorado credit because I didn't think they
could do this, and can they do it for the
rest of the season. That's the point. But I'll tell
you when somebody does something, I'm wrong. I didn't think

(22:07):
they could do this, and they are.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
I just feel pretty good about them. Remember before the
CA State game, I was talking playoffs, talking playoffs. I
went full Jim Mora and then they went out and
lost thirty one to twenty eight the final, Like, what
the hell are you doing to me? I tried to
build the arc, the bandwagon and get it fired up
somewhere outside of Boulder, and then you go and lose
and people jump back off.

Speaker 6 (22:30):
But sitting at number twenty right now, they're in a
pretty pretty decent spot if they can finish out the
slate well playing good balance football. And the other thing
we didn't think they could do was run the ball
with any level of effectiveness, and they've just gone to
the idea of playing balanced football, something that was not
in the offing.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
And guess what. It usually helps to preserve your quarterback
if you have a threat of a run game, So
Shedor Sanders gets to remain.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Upright now, this game, I'll give you a big ball
for this game tomorrow because Texas Tech defense is absolutely awful.
I mean, I like the I think the over for
this game is like ninety three and a half because
Texas Tech their defense is that bad. I'm gonna say this.
I'm gonna say Shador Sanders goes for five hundred yards.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Tomorrow, five five, not four.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
He goes for five because it's a gas burrow, it's
a big game, it's national television. All they're gonna do
is throw this is He's gonna go for five hundred
tomorrow and you're gonna see it early. He's gonna be
at like three hundred by halftime, you're gonna say, Wow,
he goes for five hundred tomorrow in this game.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
I gotta see what his prop bets are. Sixty two
and a half four and a half point the the
line of this one. But yeah, sixty two and a half.
We're expecting some offense.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Telling you man, it's he's gonna give me, give me
five hundred yards.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Past the five five bills. I like, I like the Bravado.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
I always like five hundo, five hundo.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
Five slapping, five hundred.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
Play five hundred.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Now the game of the week, the game of the week,
which is a loser, because I know you love this
game because it is a loser.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Leave town match.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
Oh absolutely, old school wrestling at its final you.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Got Alabama LSU because the loser with three losses likely
is gonna end up on the outside looking. And now
we talked about this a couple of weeks ago. The
best part of the new playoff is that you don't
know how many losses is gonna knock a team out
of contention. Potentially, there could be room for a three
loss team somewhere, but when you're going one through twelve

(24:30):
and again, it's gonna be different. The top four seeds
are gonna be conference winners, then you know you're gonna
take the best teams from the other big Power five conferences.
Maybe there's room for one college football team not in
a quote Power five conference, even though there's not five
big conferences anymore. So maybe Boise State's a way to
get in. But you know, you don't know, like, could
you get in with three losses?

Speaker 4 (24:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Maybe, but an SEC team with three losses already isn't
gonna get in. So you're talking about this being a
loser leave town match with Alabama and LSU. And I'll
tell you what I'm I'm gonna go right back to
the well that I dipped in last week and drank
a nice, cool trough of water from. I'm gonna say,
like I did last week, I'll pick James Franklin and
Penn State to win a big game when James Franklin

(25:13):
and Penn State win a big game.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
For the first time in eight years.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
I will pick Brian Kelly to win a big game
at LSU when he wins a big game at LSU.
I have seen Jalen Milroe and Alabama win big games. Yes,
they've been up and down this year, but you know,
LSU is gonna have a tough time containing him. Look,
every defense has a tough time containing him, but they're
not really built for what he does. I will take

(25:36):
Jalen Milroe in this game. They won't be able to
do anything. And LSU kind of finds ways to lose
games like this. We've seen this in the Brian Kelly era.
So for me, it's it's mill Row and it's Kelly
and Klen de Boor gets a big win. They are
really desperate, and I'm gonna go with the team with
the better quarterback and the team that I've seen win
big games like this.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
It's got to be shown. If LSU wins tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
And basically elimited Alabama, Okay, hey, but until Brian Kelly
wins a game like that, I'm.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Going with Alabama.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Yeah. So here's one of these stats. As you go
and dig into this game, LSU is only giving up
four stacks and eight games twenty four tackles for loss altogether.
And we know the strength of the Alabama offense. What
that means nus Meyer's just making bad decisions with the
football beuse He's got nine picks on the ear. I
trust that they can't run the football only one hundred

(26:27):
and fifteen yards per game on the ground. And to
your point, Brian Kelly's a guy that'll find his way
to have sour face on the sidelines at the end. Yeah,
give me Alabama big in this one, especially because they
get to embarrass LSU in front of a live tiger. Now.
I did find the line for you, and I could
wager on it for you if you're feeling good about

(26:49):
it in the fun and exciting world of our apps.
Three twenty seven and a half. That's the passing yard
over under for Shdor Sanders.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Oh, I thought that you're gonna say that that's how
many That's how many people the live tigers could be
uh could be afraid of injuring if he gets out.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Well, I mean we did see the report that allegedly
the handlers have had on two occasions the tiger get free.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Yeah, that's not a great thing that you're gonna bring
a tiger to a to a place where there's gonna
be sixty thousand people and these are people that have
lost track of a tiger before.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Yeah, you don't get three. I mean, he's not at
three strikes yet, I mean he could fall tip it
where I mean, maybe the chains a little longer. Jay,
they thought.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Instead he could be at three stripes on this tiger.
I mean really, I mean.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
Hey, what you did.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
We're gonna bring a ti a live tiger to the game.
That's great.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Yeah, but here's the thing, the people bringing up that
they've lost tigers before.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
There's lots of allegations of mistreatment and abuse. But yeah,
let's do that.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
We're gonna bring a tiger.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
We haven't fed it in a while, so it's gonna
be hungry and really strong too.

Speaker 7 (27:57):
Like me.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
He's broken like five or six chains and we bring
him playing. I mean, he's really he's strong, man white.
It's gonna be fun seeing, isn't here.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
You watch a gladiator in the in the studio right now?
Is how what you're doing?

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Tiger just stands up and hold hold hey, man, forget
about we got Planet of the Tigers tomorrow, not Planet
of the Apes. We got Plant of the Tigers tomorrow.
Forget about the monkeys that escaped in South Carolina. We
could have Planet of the Tigers. This tiger escapes and
who knows what happens in the woods who knows what happened.
He almost in the Tiger come back with like this
is a half tiger, half spider. It's like some sort

(28:30):
of weird Darth Mole thing.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
Yeah, but all of a sudden he shows up with
sixty two of his.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Friends we got from It's like the it's like the
stampede seat from Flying only see is a cloud of dust.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
I don't know. This is three yards in the cloud
of dust. Offense right here, old let me tell you.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Uh so, both Mike and I like Alabama tomorrow over LSU.
Right now, let's find out what's trending in the wide
world of sportsman.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
A man who is only slightly more calm right now.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
When UCLA had coached to Sean Foster, Oh it is
Steve de Saga.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
I believe, was our be loved producer said, nit can't
run that live audio on our.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
No, he's winning seventeen ten.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
He was not happy, and UCLA was down ten to
nothing at the Rose Bowl after the first quarter. Now
leads Iowa seventeen to ten, and the final seconds before
the halftime break, Bruins got a fifty seven yard field
goal and then a couple of touchdowns for the lead
in this.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Then Big ten game on Fox.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
TV Iowa six and three coming in by the way
Saturday afternoon on Fox number twenty Colorado.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
At Texas Tech.

Speaker 5 (29:35):
That's after the Ohio State Perdue game. Caw is in
the acc oh to four in that new League of Theirs.
They are holding on to a lead at wake Forest
twenty nine twenty one with two and a half minutes
to go in the third quarter. Memphis leads Rice late
first half fourteen to six. Just getting underway on FS one,
San Diego State hosting New Mexico Titans. Quarterback Will Levis

(29:56):
will start Sunday. He missed three weeks after his shoulder injury.
See running Back Tony Pollard is off the injury report
after a foot injury. The forty nine Ers say they
plan to activate running back Christian McCaffrey tomorrow, so he'll
make his season debut Sunday after the Achilles injury. Jacksonville
quarterback Trevor Lawrence is listed as questionable but likely out
this weekend with a left shoulder injury.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
He was limited in practice again today.

Speaker 5 (30:20):
Dallas says quarterback Dak Prescott will go uninjured reserve with
his bad hamstring he could miss at least four to
six weeks. Bucks QB Baker Mayfield is off the injury report.
He'd had a toe injury. Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike
Evans is still out with the bad hamstring. Eagles quarterback
Jalen Hurts is off the injury report. He'd had an
ankle injury. The Yankees picked up manager Aaron Boone's contract

(30:42):
option for next year. In college hoops, number one Kansas
ninety two to eighty nine winners at home against ninth
rank North Carolina. The Jayhawks had blown a twenty point
lead late in the first half. Currently, George Mason leads
at number eighteen Marquette fifty one fifty with thirteen minutes
to go. The NBA Cleveland is ten and zero after
beating up Golden State. Phoenix got a last second free

(31:05):
throw to win at Dallas eight and one. Record for
the Suns. Oklahoma City eight and one after beating Houston
Nick's over Milwaukee, the Bucks fall to two and seven
Boston and overtime edge Brooklyn. Dallas beat Atlanta one twenty
two one twenty one. Cade Cunningham with a last second
block after making the go ahead basket with eight seconds left.

(31:25):
Lakers lead as they wind down the first quarter against
Philly thirty six to twenty nine. Anthony Davis fifteen points.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve.

Speaker 1 (31:34):

tirerach dot Com Studios. We'll give your upset special picks
in the NFL coming up in a couple of minutes.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
But this story today, the boy.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
You know, it's kind it's always kind of fun, uh,
when a phrase or a word suddenly becomes synonymous with
it team or an individual in sports. The Yankees have
decided to bring Aaron Boone back for next season, which
you think, well, he made it to the World Series. Yah, yeah, yeah,
But now they've decided they're gonna bring him back. They

(33:13):
made it to the World Series, which tells you what
they think of Aaron Boone, his tenuous hold on the team.
That he gets to the World Series and there's not.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
An announcement, then hey, we're gonna pick up your option.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
All this now, obviously they're hoping to work with him
on a new contract, but you don't announce that like
the day after the World Series. We're gonna wait a
while and talk about it and say, hey, we're bringing
you back just for next year.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
As good of a season as.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
The Yankees had look winning the Pennant, getting to the
World Series before they throw up on themselves. I'll tell
you what, man, lazy Yankees is gonna follow them and
follow this team and follow Aaron Boone, I mean, Joe
Kelly sounding that out, saying, hey, we beat the yank
We knew we were gonna win.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
The Yankees, you could see their stars. They were lazy.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Miguel Rojas does a podcast says, yes, Yankees were lazy,
even though it's not quite accurate.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Lazy Yankees.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
That's now this team, that's now the image and the
impact when you saw them puke all over the front
of their jerseys during the World Series, really during the
playoffs too, but just you didn't pay attention because they
kept winning somehow. But seeing that happen, they're gonna be
tagged with that lazy Yankees moniker into the offseason into
next season until they prove they're not. And it really

(34:29):
is something that just really quick, all of a sudden
this past week, Wait, Yankee, No, lazy Yankees, that's what's happening.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Lazy Yankee, the companion piece to the classic Damn Yankees
opening off Broadway twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Five, asking TJ, can you take us high enough and
fly us over yesterday in the World Series.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
TJE, nicely done. But yeah, Lazy Yankees. I mean it
rights itself. It becomes the moniker. How you didn't extend
pickup options whatever during the playoff run is just laughable,
Like it's a non story. It's like, yeah, we're crushing
why bother? So when you do it at this point,
it's either he thought he had leverage to get more
money and years out of you, which is kind of

(35:10):
funny and options out out there, or you really are
sending the message that you're settling, because that's all you're
doing at this point a week a week and a
half after the season ends. It's saying, all right, he's
good enough, as opposed to that's our guy. Look at
the effort. We're getting a wait, I said, effort.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
See, that's the whole thing about lazy. The effort's a
big thing with Lazy.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
I tried to sell it and then I walked right
into my own trap. By the way, we also I
mean showing people can change though, and that's the hope
for the Yankee fans for next year that no longer
can they be tabbed as lazy. I just saw D'Angelo
Russell save a ball from going out of bounds, get
the ball back. Wait, and then he drove the length

(35:57):
of the court and hit a layup.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Wow, maybe he does want to stay.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
And then he ran over to Mookie Betts and sold
the trophy. Yeah, the Dodgers brought the World Series Trophy
to the game tonight. They just go to the game.
They all brought the World Series Trophy.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
That's bold. Yeah, Lebron put it on his head like
a crown.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
I can see that happening. I can see him trying
to dribble down the Flacia. He just breaks the bottom
of it off and puts it on his head. I
can see that one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Uh. So we'll have more basketball on the way again.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
A nine point lead for the Lakers right now over
the seventy six ers.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
But Mike and I do it every week. We give
your upset special picks.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
In college football and the NFL, I took a really
bad LS, one of the toughest beats of the last
few years.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
I had Duke getting twenty.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
One, and come on, man, I was winning like forty
nine seventeen in the fourth quarter, you were, and I lost.
That was an awful, awful beat. But putting my fourteen
and five record on the line is still a great record.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
Still very happy.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
Give me the Pittsburgh Steelers getting two and a half
over Washington in the other game of the week. But
you're looking at the NFL as we going wow, man, yeah, Pittsburgh,
and yeah, who knew, But that's the game of the week. Look,
Pittsburgh's defense is really physical. It's one of the top
defenses in the NFL. They get after the quarterback, they

(37:17):
make plays. They're going to do that to Washington. They're
going to force turnovers. There will be short fields for
Russell Wilson. Won't be a lot of points in this
game because look, mat the Steelers don't allow a lot
of points. And I'd be really surprised if if Jayden
Daniels goes up and down the field against the Steelers
and goes four touchdowns and two hundred and fifty yards
passing and seventy five yards rushing, I'll say, yeah, put

(37:38):
him at the front of the list for MVP. But
I don't see that happening. And the Steelers are gonna
have enough because defensively, this is gonna be a bit
of an education and adjustment for Washington. The Steelers win,
and I'll give you a big bold prediction. Mike Williams
scores his first touchdown for the Steelers. Red zone or moonball, No, no, no,
red zone, red zone. I don't think he's enough to

(38:01):
get in and play enough between the twenties. But red
zone where they play red zone touchdown for Mike Way, Oh.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
The way Russ throws a deep ball though you got
plenty of time to track it. This isn't a red line,
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
He doesn't know where the red line. The red line's the.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
Same Mas and he needs to know the red line.
He needed a team.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
You gotta know the red line.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
Red one's out there with a laser pointer, damn and
run the red line like he's the fox going to
steal stuff in Ocean's twelve.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
Don't tell anybody, but you're gonna see. We got we
got one of our We got one of the interns
who's gonna train the laser pointer. Just follow the laser
pointer down the field and when you don't see it,
turn around.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
For the ball.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Okay, just follow the laser pointer and then turn around
for the ball when you don't see it. We'll get
completion every time.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
It's superimposing the route grid onto the field. I love that,
all right. I am going to take the short home dog.
I'm gonna take two first. I'm gonna take Arizona to
beat your Jets, with James Connor and Trey Benson being
the guys that lead the way forty six and a
half year total, Kyler Murray. Uh won't be able to

(39:07):
do much against the past defense, but he won't need
you because they're gonna be able to run. And then
I'm gonna take New England to beat the Bears out right.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
Oh no, no, no, no, you can't do that, man,
that you're just you're just saying that because you're mad
at the Bears.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
I'm not gonna allow you to make that pick. I'm not.
I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Hey, best friends talk each other out of bad ideas.
I'm gonna not allow you to make I'm gonna talk
to you. I know you're emotional, I know it's I
know you're upset. I'm not gonna allow you to.

Speaker 4 (39:30):
Make a last case of emotions.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
I'm not gonna lie. The first one is fine.

Speaker 4 (39:34):
I'm not bad.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
I know I understand this, but you have to be
emotionless on this. I can't allow you to make that pick.
I gotta tach.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
He made me walk the beach and I missed my feelings.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
Gotta pull that back, man. That doesn't count. That does
not count.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
Uh So there's our official upset special picks UH Bears Patriots,
Bears Patriots does not count? Uh exit out about a
Fresco exit swolling down The Jason Smith Show with My
best friend Carbon. Coming up next, we'll take a look
at this weekend two NFL teams who may, by the
end of the year be two of the best teams
in the league overall.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
That's next. Fox.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
App Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
The Jason Smith Show with My best Friend Mike Harmon,
Lockthetirack dot Com Studios. Big goings on in college football.
Nobody better to talk to you on a Friday night
than the owner proprietor Grand Pooba of College.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
Footballnews dot com.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
You are one stop shopping for everything college football, all
the picks, all the prognostications, all the analysis. It is
Pete Feutech, longtime front of the show, Pete few Tech,
who is taking time away right now from a phone
call with Miller Mares to tell him all about what
it's going to be like in Michigan to talk football
with us right now.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Pete, what's happening?

Speaker 1 (41:05):
Man?

Speaker 7 (41:06):
It took him long enough to figure out how to
get the right quarterback there at USD. I mean, look,
it's this is you know, look at the history of
the quarterback the lineage under Lincoln Riley. I mean you
start with Baker Mayfield, number one overall pick. Obviously he's
playing well. Now Kyler Murray number one overall pick, playing well. Now,

(41:29):
you had Jalen Hurts come in pretty good. You know,
Spencer Rattler, he's in the league. You know, Jesus is
a player. And then that Caleb Williams got pretty good group.
That's a that's a pretty good uh you know as
a John Jonzale. That that's the Godfather actor who has
played Fredo where like every movie he made was like

(41:49):
a super hit, Like that's that's been Lincoln Riley. Every
quarterback has been a hit. Miller Moss isn't quite that guy.
Uh So you think that they've been well, I get
that's that's where I thought Curtis Rourk would end up
ended up going out Indiana talked about a segue, but yeah,
they let's do what they do with this quarterback situation.
Because now at the moment as we speak, kind of

(42:11):
crazy that if we had talked a few weeks ago
and I suggested the idea that U c l A
is a bear shot of going bowling the USD. Yeah,
at the moment, that probably true.

Speaker 1 (42:20):
Hey, so are you believing the the reports linking Miller
mass transfer portal to Michigan or is that something that's
just a wishful thinking because anybody in the portal Michigan
is going to be interested in a quarterback.

Speaker 7 (42:31):
I'm just gonna say, is John o'corr not not available anymore?
I mean, like that that has been such the land.
I mean, and who's the one guy who led you
guys to the promised Land? It was the guy you
got in the recruiting class with JJ. But that for
years was always the place that you know, they always

(42:51):
kind of got the okay, uh quarterback transfers, and you
just assumed that because it was horrorball back then, that
you know, he was going to make something out of
whatever quarterback ahead. That was always the that was always
the differentiating factor. Whereas you know your house, you know
house they would have, you know, the Dwayne Haskins and
the you know J. G. Barritt and the superstar quarterbacks.

(43:12):
The Michigan would gain would get thrown at, you know,
Wilton's fight or just it just I don't know. Miller
Us is fine, but if you're in Michigan, go pay
for someone better.

Speaker 4 (43:21):
Pete. With one of the big games tomorrow Alabama LSU,
there will be a live tiger in attendance.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (43:28):
Will the Tigers actually show up and play some solid football? Well,
Nussmeyer take care of the ball enough for Brian Kelly to.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
Get a win.

Speaker 7 (43:35):
Among the many disconnects between me and the common man
is I could not possibly care less about a live tiger.
Ba Oh, come on, I like, I don't know what
there's a part of me it's missing. I am not
exactly you know, Joe Q. Lunch pail when it comes
to you know, these these sorts of things. I don't know,
if the tiger's actually playing and you know you have

(43:56):
to avoid them, then I guess that's the thing. But
I mean, oh, there's a tiger in a cage on
the sideline.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
Okay, man, the tigers on the field, though, let's think
of just it's gonna it's gonna be very difficult to
move that football down the field.

Speaker 7 (44:09):
I guess because you're you're worried about the tiger, you know,
gladiator time. But but you know, this is this is it.
This is you know, a college football playoff game that'd
be's an elimination game because the lother of this, as
much as the committee is going to want to do
everything possible to put Alabama in, and the fact that they
are ranked so high to begin with, this last week

(44:29):
just shows you, you know what I'm telling you guys
three years because it's Alabama clause that's in the CFP contract. Losers,
this is out. You know, it's kind of crazy to
think that, you know, these two really good teams are
kind of fighting to stay alive in this thing. But
it should be spirited, should be fun. These guys put

(44:49):
put on great shows. I'll be really disappointed if it's
not a back and forth firefight.

Speaker 3 (44:56):
So here's here's where I come down on it. Pete.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Is that like last week we talked about Ohio State
and Penn State and I said, Okay, I'll pick Penn
State when James Franklin wins a big game at Penn State, right,
he hadn't done one in eight years.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
I'm going the same way here.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
I'll pick LSU when Brian Kelly wins a really big game.
Until that moment, I'll go with Jaln Milroe, who I've
seen win big games before.

Speaker 7 (45:17):
I might be a little fuzzier. Didn't they win a
couple of years ago? Was he still there? Was he
the coach? Then two years ago that recently when they
pulled it off and the last second win over Alabama?
I was at it. I think I was at a
James Addtionen concert actually when this was happening. I think
it was a couple of years ago. Yeah, exactly, You're
in a Dennis Dixon concert.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
I mean, the former Oregon quarterback. Wow, that's pretty bad.

Speaker 7 (45:39):
You know he was a musician and I was watching
it on my phone. Yeah, really, you know, a professional
job by myself.

Speaker 4 (45:46):
But look it's.

Speaker 7 (45:49):
It's yeah, I get it. Like, look, Brian, it goes
back to the James Franklin thing too. You know, who
beats top five teams. Nobody like this whole thing is like, oh,
can't beat a top five people. That's because they're top
five teams and that's why everyone's like one nineteen against them,
because it's really hard to do. So I always had
this complaint when it came to Harball. I have this

(46:10):
complaint when it comes to Franklin. You know, you know
how many coaches out there have been with the same
team since twenty twenty one and are winning it'd beast
seventy percent of their games. It's Kirby, it's Davo and
like Lane Kiffin, and it's James Franklin and Ryan Day.
That's it, you know, Like it's really hard like to

(46:30):
win college football games. And for all those well James
Franklin can't win a big game. Well, you know, ask Florida,
that's Nebraska, that's Texas for you know, for the most part,
how hard it is to win, you know, seventy percent
of your games every single year. It's just not that easy.
But say to me, Brian Kelly, I don't particularly like
the guy, but he's a whale of a college football

(46:52):
head coach and he gets a lot out of the teams.
Let's see tomorrow, you know the well Steve, then let's
see this element can get back in the mix, and
all of a sudden they win tomorrow. Then yeah, they're
still alive for a lot of big things come out.

Speaker 4 (47:06):
We got Carson Back, Jackson Dart, two great names offense,
one point line in this one. Does Beck take care
of the football to get them a victory?

Speaker 7 (47:16):
I was gonna say, you know, I saw that stat today.
I thought you'd think I would have known that one.
But what the ten touchdown passes and eleven picks you
know in his last several games. That's not good. They're
just Ohio State and Georgia are in the same boat.
Those are Those are two teams you kind of started
against Penn State last week. You saw it with Georgia
and Florida those there's still the two best teams in

(47:38):
the country. I know the Oregon thing and all that,
but they're just playing so tight. It's like every single
snap is microanalyzed, like, oh no, they missed a third
Duncan version. Ryan Day's on a hot seat and oh no,
Carton beck is, you know, throwing an interception. He's not
the number one overall pick. It's just like they are.
So they're just playing with so much pressure. And I

(48:01):
know they're professionals now, and I know, you know, the
different world there's use of this, but there's still college
kids and they, you know, unlike you know, teams like
Indiana and teams like even Oregon, who hasn't really won anything.
It's gonna be playing with a lot more fun. That
just seems like a little more confident. But these two
ulter talented teams were if you don't win the national championship,

(48:22):
your season is a complete failure. Especially now that they're
on there's a you know, twenty million dollar payroll things
happening here. Yeah, it's he's playing like a guy who's
got all the pressure in the world on his shoulders.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
Because it is college football insider Pete you Tech, our
guest Jason Spith, Mike Harbon live the TIRAQ dot com studios.
All right, Pete, let's go to Colorado and Texas Tech.
Colorado suddenly is back and I got to give them
a lot of credit because they did something this year
that I didn't think they could do. They put their
heads down and played football for the last six weeks.
I didn't think it was possible. I didn't think they

(48:56):
could just win games and do it in fashion without
gain crazy ass headlines and distractions from the team. But
I give them a lot of credit. They've been able
to win and get back on the fringes of the
playoff picture.

Speaker 7 (49:08):
Yeah, and you know what the crazy part about all
this is that if it wasn't Dion and all the Dion,
that's who I said before, I'm a big fan of.
But if it wasn't for all the fringe stuff, you'd
have said that that's the progression. If you're a good
head coach and you are starting out and you are
taking me over just a horrible program. I mean, Toleraud
didn't win for years, and then all of a sudden,

(49:31):
you won a few games. You boosted the team up,
and you know it wasn't a bowl season, but you
know you won a few more games in your first year,
the first year of improvement, and then year two is
where you make that little jump up. There they're making
the progression that's what normal teams do when this works
without all the fan fair and you know, look, I'm
not sold on any Big twelve team. I'm kind of

(49:53):
under the belief that the Big twelves just got awful.
But hey, someone's got to keep winning, and they're doing it.
I mean, they're playing some defense now, they're not really
running the ball still as Tudor still is, you know,
the main man there and there, he's still getting rocked.
But look, they just kind of keep winning games now.
And like you said, I mean, it's being in the
college football playoff picture along with everyone else in the

(50:14):
Big Twelve except for the teams we thought were going
to be in the College Football playoff pictures before the season.
The Big Twelve just get in the Big Twelve championship
game and spin in the wheel and you're gonna, you know,
get in this thing. I don't think they're gonna be
the fourth seed maybe, but they're gonna certainly get in
obviously if you're the Big Cowld champion.

Speaker 4 (50:33):
Pete, we only had a couple you know, head to
heads between top twenty fives, anybody on upset alert up
at the top, you know, like Michigan getting fourteen and
a half at Indiana and things like that.

Speaker 7 (50:44):
I was gonna pull That's exactly what I was gonna say.
I it's some point. Reality is gonna have to come
to breakfast here with this thing, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
I can't give Indiana one year every thirty years, Pete
come on and they had Anthony Antoine Randall l and
now they have this year.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
That's what it is.

Speaker 7 (51:03):
Thirty years, try one hundred and twenty six years they
lay This program has never had a ten win season
in its entire history. They beat Michigan tomorrow, they not
only pretty much lock up a college football playoff spot
because they got a free space against Purdue to close
even tho they're gonna get roasted by Ohio States. So basically,

(51:26):
you win tomorrow, you one beat Michigan. Two, you have
the first ten win season in program history. Three, you're
gonna probably be eleven and one. And actually, and here's
the cork cleuely in now that I think it's the
glitch and the matrix. Being eleven to one and not
playing for a conference championship is actually the dream. Because

(51:49):
if you're Penn State and you're gonna probably go eleven
and one. If you're ATMU and you're probably gonna go
eleven and one, though they might play for the ACC championship.
And if you're Indiana and you go eleven and one,
that means that you are going to get a college
football playoff home game, and so your thirteenth game is
going to be at home. You get an extra few
weeks to rest, you don't have to deal with the

(52:11):
conference championship game.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
You know.

Speaker 7 (52:13):
The big losers in kind of this is the college
football playoff world are the conference championship losers because they've
got to play an extra game, which means they get
an extra loss, which means they probably don't get a
home game, or if they do, it's you know, an
eight nineteen or a seventh seed, so they kind of
drop down a little bit in the ranking, and so
they don't they'll get that extra time off. So if

(52:35):
you're Indiana, best of all world, Yeah, go go go
for it, go eleven and one and let Oregon in
ohiose they beat each other up for a game, you know,
for the championship. Well, you're resting up and getting ready
for the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
He's on Twitter at Pete Feutag that is at Pete
feutech again college.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Footballnews dot com.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
You're one stop shopping for everything college football, all the breakdown,
all the analysis, all the picks.

Speaker 3 (52:58):
And he's gotten eight.

Speaker 1 (53:00):
Hundred words coming on the history of Indiana football going
back one hundred and twenty six years. Pete, looking forward
to it. My friend will talk to you. Enjoy the games.
Great stuff there. Look, I'd love to be able to
pick Indiana. I mean, I don't know why we have wrong.
Indiana is the Hoosiers. Michigan's the Wolverine pirates. There are

(53:22):
no pirates, No wolverine. Be a pirate, boy.

Speaker 3 (53:26):
It will be interesting dressing up a Wolverine as a pirate.

Speaker 4 (53:29):
Yew, dude, I'm making an animated wolverine.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
If you dressed up Away as a pirate, it would
look like Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Speaker 4 (53:36):
But if it was Deadpool pirate and oh it does.

Speaker 1 (53:39):
See now you got something, Now you got see, now
you got something. I didn't think about that. I would
love to pick Michigan to win this game. And I
can say this because my wife is gone to pick
up my daughter and she's not listening. I would love
to pick Michigan to win this game. But their offense
just they have nothing. I mean, they figured out what
they probably should have figured out early on, is that
they have Okay, Davis Warren is the quarterback and then
you know Orgie comes in the has the gadget guy.

(54:01):
But the offense is just so limited. We've gone over
the fact that it's been a horrible season. How you
not have another quarterback ready to go. I'd love to
see Michigan be able to stay in it and stay close.
I don't know if they could cover. I mean, it's
probably gonna be close a little while out of the
gate because Michigan's defense is good, and I don't see
Indiana running away and you know, running up a whole
bunch of trick plays. But eventually this game has like

(54:24):
thirty one, thirty four to thirteen written all over it
for Indiana.

Speaker 4 (54:27):
Just that offense churning at a whole other level, and
with Michigan's offense struggling as it is, no matter how
good Michigan's d is, you're broken down by the second half.
So I think that's the fair assessment. Close early, hope
for a turnover to keep you in the game, maybe
give you a little bit of a puncher's chance. But overall, right,

(54:48):
now Indiana's just clicking on on a whole other level
unless they get caught looking ahead, right, because they do
have a big game the following week, So maybe that
opens the door for you. How about that. I'm going
down to the Michigan football going, well, maybe maybe they're
looking past Michigan food.

Speaker 3 (55:11):
Oh my wife hates you. She she just hates you.

Speaker 4 (55:15):
What man, if after ten plus years she already didn't wait,
then I'd be this ain't gonna change it.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
And if you wind up ruining Michigan, like if Michigan
becomes bold ineligible because they can't beat Northwestern in a week,
and she'll hate you even more because that's Michigan's last
win on the schedules is Northwestern.

Speaker 4 (55:31):
I already have a bunch of Northwestern gear yourse
