Speaker 3 (01:16):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Uh, yes, welcome in Happy Tuesday, Jason and Mike, and
yes we're gonna don't worry, we'll get to Joe Douglas
in a second. We will get to Joe Douglas. DJ.
Clearly the Jets putting a jolting Joe d today by
firing him tj Uh. Yeah, Look, my teams exist for
you to just laugh at and that's absolutely the case today.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
I only keep an empty suit sitting around. But hey, again,
like I said, what do I need?

Speaker 1 (01:45):
I need Gottlieb to get to the tournament, right, I
need JJ Reddick doing his part already in the top six,
and then the broadcaster to coach. Pipeline can really work.
So if those things happen, man, I could be the
coach and the GM at the I mean, that's pretty cool, man.
At this point, I'd rather be the GM. There's a
lot of work involved in coaching, and you know, I'd

(02:05):
be a lot of people. You have to be in
the building and watch a lot of tape and everything
and also quarterback, you'd match Aaron Rubbers. I wish I
could still throw. I wish I could still for quarterback GM. Yeah,
my shoulder, coach, My shoulder hasn't been the same. But
I would like that if you ever talk about the
first ever quarterback coach, it would be Aaron Rodgers. I'm
sure that would be him. I think we're already there
are we, But the newest college football playoff polls are

(02:29):
out and there's a couple of shockers at the top.
And you know, look, with the college football playoff poll,
we were all excited to get to twelve games and
how great this was and there's no downside and everything else.
And I just know that a large portion of the
of the population just says, yeah, you know, I don't know.
Give me a couple of weeks to get used to this,
and I'll find something to get mad about, don't I
will find something in this twelve team playoff that I

(02:51):
don't like. I'm gonna get mad about.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Just remember, everybody, there's still a portion of the larger
quasi college football world. And I say quasei college football
or you know, the folks that don't pay any attention
to it. Yeah, except for the times that they have
to yell about rankings. Sure that they were just mad
at the concept of twelve. It's too many water down,
it's terrible.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I want to get mad. Now there's a drop my lawn.
There's an easy point and a bigger point to make
coming out of this. Right, The easy point is this,
and but sometimes you have to start with the easy
because we sometimes can be the lowest common denominator society.
So much the Boise State ranked fourth, I know shocks
a lot of people, But you can never go under
the assumption that that fans don't understand why this is all.

(03:37):
Why is suddenly Boise State who was twelve to thirteenth?
How the hell are they fourth? Well? Because for the
top five teams, division conference champions get the top four seeds.
That's the rule in college football this year, and Boise
State right now is deemed to be the number four too. Okay, great, awesome,
We're great Mountain West. I don't know, don't know if

(03:57):
I agree, but you know that the conference champions automatic
get those one through four. They get the buyers.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
And then this was the point of clarification though, right, Jason,
So other than leaving it sit out there, and then
all of a sudden they make the jump.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
This is the slow it'll bring folks along. This is
the way it actually But that's why they did it
because if you waited till the end, because really does
any rankings thing Boise State it's the number four team
in the country, of course not. But if you wait
till the end, you get a big portion of college
football a population. It gets on social media and says things.

(04:31):
So again, as we've learned anything in the last years,
something doesn't have to be real for there to be
a controversy around it. And then all of a sudden
at the end, Oh, how has bois he stayed for it? No, no, no,
that's the rule. I don't care. I'm mad. And then
a groundswell starts that makes no sense. But then what
happens is you get the piling out of Yeah, I
don't care about that, but this is what I don't like.
So college football playoff comant is saying, okay, let's just

(04:54):
take care of this right now. Let's just make sure
the top four seeds are all the teams at the
tops of the conferences where they sit right now and
where we would put them if we had to, so
it's east of the top four teams. We know now
you have to put them in order where we think
they are one through four, and so they obviously you
have Oregon number one, Texas to Miami three, Boise State four,

(05:14):
the leaders of all the conferences. Okay, it's fine, but
this was a lowest common denominator move to say, boy,
we don't want people going crazy. Let's put this out there.
Let's let be some kind of controversy on Tuesday night,
and then people will hopefully understand that conference champions get
the top four seats. Whether you like it or not,
that's a different story. But this is how it goes.

(05:34):
This is nothing has done. There's no bending the rules.
Is no all of a sudden people are stuffing the
votes for Boise State off a bunch of stuff coming
in from the blue field. No, sometimes you gotta go
LCD in that that.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Would be entertaining if that were in fact the case
that suddenly you know the hanging chads, well, chads, Chad
and Jeremy Sweet Soft Store, and.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
You have to explain to millennials what hanging chads are.
Come on, the election was in two thousand, man, you
gotta explain that.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Yeah, that also consumes folks voted and whatever else.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
But the other side is just the.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Big blinking lights now in week thirteen, take care of it.
I think the bigger, more laughable thing was the fact
that the Big ten had to come out with the
statement of oh, by the way, Oregon's in the title game.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
No celebration, no fanfare over.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
The weekend, get the w move on whatever, Like, oh, yeah,
they're showing they are locked in to the title game.
Oh by the way, the ranking come out later on today.
But as we look at it for week thirteen, you've
got a bunch of big matchups right off the jump
right in Indiana, and folks get mad because of.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Where they are. Well, rubber meets the road this week, right.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
There's a lot of incongruities when we look at some
losses not being equal to others.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
How are they behind them?

Speaker 4 (06:56):
They lost on a new trophyat this that the end
they lost to them earlier in the sea. It's the
joy and pain of the college football season as we've
known it forever, and that's never going to change. Trying
to say every slot in your top twenty five is
going to be dictated by logic and results on the field.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
The hell have you been watching all these Now here's
the bigger point, and this is legitimate. And Lane Kiffin
actually was the guy that brought this up and put
voice to it. He was the guy that said, listen,
I'll say the quiet part out loud. When he was
asked today during his weekly press conference about the situation. Look,
his old Miss team is right, would be the number

(07:40):
ten seed right now and in the playoff, he said, Look,
I've talked to a lot of coaches, a lot of people,
and they don't want to be in a conference championship
game because this is schools that would be the number
two seed in. They don't want to be in the
conference championship game because they think that if they go
in with two losses and they lose the conference championship
game to get to three losses, a team that doesn't

(08:02):
make their conference title game with two losses will get
a playoff spot before them. Right. So what he's saying
is that, hey, if everybody's got two losses, but we
have to go play the best team in our conference
and lose, that's going to keep us out of the playoff.
When we achieved more than another team because they didn't
even get to their conference championship, which is a legitimate gripe,
and I completely get.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
That to a degree, but it's also a matter of
happenstance circumstance, because maybe you were just left out tie
breaker or whatever beat with your two losses, right, you
just didn't happen.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
No, he's more, he's this is the point more that
at the end of the year when they have to
weigh the at large teams, Okay, here's an ole MISS
team with three losses that lost that lost in the
conference championship game, versus a an SMU team that lost
once and didn't make the conference. That's up. Whatever it
is that that's what he's going. That's he's gonnat. And

(08:55):
here's the best part, right, because that's a legitimate concern.
Like I said, wait five minutes. People come with something
they're angry with. And but here's the best part is
that this is why we're going to sixteen teams as
soon as possible. This Remember we had that little bit
of a push after the end of last year twelve
team playoff. Then there was that bit remember those headlines
for a few days where hey, there's a bit of
an interest in going to sixteen teams, and basically college

(09:18):
football said, let's just do twelve first and see where
we're at. This is going to get everybody to sixteen.
This is going to be Okay, Now we need to
get to sixteen because we can have teams making a
conference title game and getting left out. Okay, we see
this controversy whether it's next year, because you know, the
one thing sport that can change on a dome you're
not locked into anything is college football. It doesn't matter,
you can change. That's a sport that can change every

(09:39):
five minutes. So whether it's next year or the year after,
they will go to sixteen teams. So that doesn't become
a thing. This is not The college football Playoff is
not we're going to twelve teams and we're locking it
in because I think college football realized the mistake when
they said we're going to four teams. We're locked into
this format and that's what we're doing. Okay, Well, since
it's something new, you don't know how it's going to
play out. How about we say let's do four for

(10:00):
a couple of years and then see they could have
done this years ago. They could have tell you know,
four is little too. Let's go to eight, Let's go
to twelve, Let's go to sixteen like all other sports. Hey,
not enough Berson. Major League Baseball will let a wildcard,
let another wildcard, let a third wildcard. So you can
do that. And I think they realize that now, okay,
since college football changes, let's go to twelve for now
and then see and something like this. Absolutely, one hundred

(10:22):
percent they will go to sixteen teams. I would say
by next year, but two years at the latest. And
that's what this is gonna prove. No, but that's what
we're watching. Conference to conferences, things move. What do you get?

Speaker 4 (10:32):
You get a twenty four month cycle to replenish your supplies. Right,
the PAC twelve was dead. Get taa, it's resurrected. Who
wants in jump back.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
In wherever you were.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
And it doesn't mean that it's the same strength that
it once was, as you have the attrition, But it's
just that very point, you know, we talk about nil,
We talk about the potential of Hey, if this coach
decides to jump to you know, the opposite coast and
a totally different conference, he can take half his team
with him. Hell, he could take three quarters of his
team with him, fire the rest of the folks saying

(11:05):
you're in the portal, goodbye. And that's how Dion started
last year, right, Hey, everybody here, you're not gonna be here.
I got my guys and they're coming. And then year
two fortified a lot of other things. One of the
great debates of how good or poor whatever they are
based on strength of schedule, and that's where we start
getting into fights and where maybe they tweak rules as

(11:27):
well in terms of these early season games and how
much weight they have. Right it's one of the arguments
against where Indiana is ranked right now.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Is how poor that schedule was.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
But they're a great example of Hey, I'm going over here,
I win a lot. You want to come with, there's
gonna be money for you, and we're gonna have an
opportunity to do great things. Ready, come on aboard. And
so that's it shut the NCAA. Following that same rule,
Jason becomes the weight. There's that much more money. Yeah,
forget about the cop They'll take the bad headlines. They've
been a bad headline as an organization for a year.

(12:02):
We're just gonna head more teams more.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
And look and and and that's and that's going to
be a great byproduct of the system they put in now,
because as long as everybody's got something to fight for,
it's okay. Because you could say, all right, we're going
to sixteen teams. What are these teams like five through fifteen?
What are they fighting about? Doesn't matter if you rank
six or Matt at tanthroll. What are we fighting for
At the end of the end, obviously you need to

(12:25):
win enough games, But as long as you have something
for everybody to fight for, that's great. Like if you're
at the top, you want to win and get that buy, right,
And let's just say the next group, Hey, we want
to win and get that home game, right, we want
to play at home. Everybody else is fighting to get in.
So if you have the first group that wants that
wants to win the conferences and keep the buys, then

(12:46):
the next group is fighting to either get there or
to get the home games. Okay, Now you're talking about
one through ten in college football, and then then eleven
through sixteen, which is really eleven through twenty five are
fighting it out over the course of the past few
weeks to make into the top sixteen. So as long
as you have people fighting for something and there's no
irrelevant games, that's terrific. Now once in a while, you're

(13:06):
gonna get a team. Hey, we're kind of locked in,
like Notre Dame. Hey, we have one loss, we're not anywhere.
We're ranked eighth. We're gonna be eighth. We're gonna stay eighth.
No one's gonna move. We're gonna be fine. But that's fine.
I don't think that that you're talking about one tiny thing.
But as long as it's not a host of schools, like, yeah,
this is gonna work. I'm telling you you'd like twelve teams.
We're going to sixteen, and it'll be buys, It will

(13:28):
be could be double buys, it could be buys at
home games. We're gonna go to sixteen next year or
the year after. I guarantee it. Army and sounding the
charge for everybody.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
How about that Army usc the final two games on
that Notre Dame schedule.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
But so, I mean Army could get it. Think about that.
If you have sixteen teams, Army could get in. Tell
me that's not America's team.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
Army loses and not because I've been influenced at all
by Jeff Goldbloom that game. But if Army loses to
Notre Dame and it's really close, like in a sixteen team,
could you keep Army out of the playf course you can't,
but you know me, whenever there could be chaos in
between the white lines, I am all for it. And
even going back to the four team playoff, if we're

(14:10):
really truly honest with ourselves, how many times do we
really have a problem. It did not happen nearly as
much as revisionist history would like to have you believe.
But there's a lot of money to be had, and
November games have meaning, not less all the scare tactics
and yelling from the mountain that this was going to

(14:31):
be a disaster. Down the stretch, there's so many more
games that still have consequence, because again it goes back
to who did you beat and when and how? And
an early season win may may look worse as a
team slides down the back end and may affect how
the computer looks at you and how folks are looking

(14:53):
at your squad. Well, they beat up on cream Puffs,
whole bunch of non twenty five, Well they were number
eight when we played them, and then now they stink.
So we see how that slide happens. And that's what
the great debates are as you get into the holiday season.
See it's a much better debate than you would normally have.

Speaker 1 (15:09):

coming up next, Yes, the Jets fired their general manager today.
Does this mean Aaron Rodgers has done? He's never gonna
play again after this year and he's not going to
be a Jet? I guess so I got some news
for you on that one. That's coming up next right here,
Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
We've already hit the Alex tie shirt promising I'll play
this song for my girlfriend portion of the show. Okay,
what are you talking about? I don't know who referenced
this artist I did. I did his mouth so big.
I just picked a song I did.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
That was my pizza guy. When we were hanging out
in I ran into was your pizza? I ran into
him at the pizza joint twice? Did he stay at
the back nights? Dude, looks like it out of my
way so I can get my pizza. No, I had
to tell people that we were with to leave the
guy atlone so you can eat his pizza. He was
there rehearsing. It ended up being the rehearsals for Stern's
sixtieth Oh. Okay, so when we're first you and I

(16:36):
were first together, I was already uh had everything book
to go to the super Bowl week in New York
and so late at night we're wandering. We go find
a pizza bloy place to grab a bike to eat,
and there he is.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
That seems kind of dangerous for Steven Tyler to being
a late night pizza place in New York City by himself. No,
you had a guy with him, just a good guy,
but just one guy. Yeah, one guy is not enough anymore. Again,
that more than one.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Guy, because then we ended up having a woman that
was with us, that knew him or knew his mom
from years before.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Say hi to your mom for me, Hey, what the
hell is that? It really it really kind of was mom,
says Aerosmith front man Fights crazed fan had to do
with mother? Mean like Lee's guy. Let me just slice,
Yes it is. If you've watched any NBA tonight, you know, Hey,
it's the NBA Cup night again. Let's go, come on now,

(17:27):
good time. We'll get into Lakers are going to put
their wind streak on the line coming up in about
ten minutes against the Jazz. And oh, by the way,
we'd like to say we're ahead of the curve on
the Lakers. But earlier tonight, the Celtics end the Cavaliers
unbeaten season. The Cavaliers will not go eighty two and zero.
They fall to fix one, the Celtics winning it one

(17:48):
twenty to one, seventeen. Look, it was a big game
from Jason Tatum. Was a terrific game across the board.
You knew this is gonna happen. It's an unbelievable start
for the Cavaliers. They're here to stay in the East, obviously,
but you know, just oh, by the way forgetting here
are the Celtics. We have no problems. We're twelve and three,
if you're not fifteen and one. We're still the story
of the NBA. We're the defending champions. We're just as

(18:09):
good through we're a year ago. But okay, this pesty
Cavaliers team won't lose. And I'm sick of reading about
Donovan Mitchell because it's no longer about him wearing Knicks gear.
I really want to get to the Knicks. I want
to get somebody look at me. I'm wearing my Mets hat,
I'm wearing my p Alonzo jersey. I'm wearing my wan
Sodo jersey. Oh okay, I got it. I get it.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Eight.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Now people are gonna understand, Hey, we're still here. Didn't
go anywhere.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Thirty five and eight for Mitchell in this one, but
he was minus fourteen on the night. But for the
Celtics is the best.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Way to be.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Like Opening Night, it was a lot about the revenge tour.
These guys are salty about the Olympics and everything else.
And then it got to be quiet, just go, do
your work, get better, figure out your rotations. Eventually your
guy will get back in the mix. Your guy, Yeah, eventually,
and we get to say this song again.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Eventually, eventually until that day he's gonna be out, then
he's gonna back in. Well we go, well, like he's
doing the hokey pokey.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
But six starters in double figures tonight are all five
starters and then Pritchard off the bench with thirteen but
thirty three, twelve and seven. Jason Tatum saying, hey, take
your undefeated recordstick it because this time it counts because
it's a cup game.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
We're still the Hey, maybe you wouldn't have come out
with some kind with this, with this sort of impetus
to win in this sense of urgency, but it's an
NBA Emirates Cup game. Man. We talked about how big
it is to win the Emirates Cup in the locker
room all the time.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
If you're Adam Silver, do you not try to sell
that in tonight? Look at the effort that we got
from the Celtics.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
I think I think they sold it's the Emirates Cup now, Okay,
if they already sold it, yeah, no, m fan, Hey,
the Emirates Cup is tonight? Fans would go soccer? Okay?
Is there is there a soccer tournament somewhere? Is that
the next live golf event?

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (19:56):
All right?

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Is that is that?

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Okay? What is that?

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Is?

Speaker 1 (19:58):
That is Emirates Cup? Is that way?

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Are they?

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Is the Premier League taking a break for Morgan? Is
MLS playoffs? Are they taking a break for the Scott? Okay?
That's great? H So again, we'll keep you updated again.
Lakers five in a row now, uh, going up against
the Jazz and we'll have more on them coming up
next hour because hey, like we say, we like tell
you we're ahead of the curve on things. Meanwhile, the

(20:21):
Jets killed Joe Douglas. Jets killed Joe d he took
Carl down? And how they they killed Robert Sala? Now
they killed Joe Douglas.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
Is this you made my like list from natural born killers?
We're talking to hint list like Steve Buscemi, like, which
one do you want to do?

Speaker 1 (20:39):
Like every day man, between the between the Jets and
the Cowboys and the Bears, they are fighting, well, we
want to be the biggest dumpster fire in the NFL.
And every they're taking big swings. Man, these are haymakers.
Eber Flus not trying to move the ball up to
kick a field goal, the roof coming off in Cowboys Stadium,

(21:00):
the Jets firing Joe Douglas. What's Eberfus? What are you
gonna do tomorrow? To top what's happened last couple of days?
What could the Bears possibly do?

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Man?

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Have you gotta do something atop this? I would say this.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
I was very excited because one of the things I
pointed out in the problem with that field goal. Forget
about the fact that they also then sent the letter saying,
wait a maud that apology because he was it should
have been a penalty on the plane. Now, forget that,
the fact that they didn't move to the right hashmark,
and then the great Robbie Gold That was the.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Thing he brought up today, like I was right. I
was right.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
That was the bigger problems that you didn't want to
play at least to put it on the proper hash
where he normally kicked everything.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
So it was already jacked. But no, they plenty of time.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
As I said last week, there was a lot of
hot air about a million other things.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
It was Packers week. It was Packers Week, and it
didn't matter. It was Look today, I'll tell you this
because one obvious thing and that and then we'll get
to Aaron Rodgers. Is this an awful move? Is this something? Oh,
it's an embarrassing thing. No, because clearly the Jets season
is lost, and the Jets want to get their a

(22:09):
big jump on who they would hire next to be
their GM. Obviously, if you fire a GM, now you
can start talking. Didn't want to have to go through
the lame duck series of season of hey, this is
a guy we really like, but we still have our
general manager. We're not going to the playoffs. Reportedly, Woody
Johnson was fuming after the loss against the Colts. I'm like, dude,
that's the loss that broke you. That's the come on, man,
that's the loss. So no, this was something that had

(22:31):
to happen in the Jets. Not it's a lost season,
and at this point that could be looking at Dion
and Shadura Sanders. But they want to jump ahead and
they want to get a jump on who their next
GM is going to be. Right, So I completely get that.
This is not the Jets tire fire part of the conversation.
There is a Jets tire fire part of the conversation.
This is not that part of it, but this part
of it.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
I mean, there were quotes from around the league calling
him a quote dead man walking.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Well, yeah, look, I mean, because there's nothing I can say.
He had a horrible run as a GM. He brought
talent into the building, but they didn't win. He had
two shots to get the quarterback right, and most people
get one shot to get the quarterback right. He had too.
He inherited Sam Darnold said, no, we don't want Sam,
we want Zach Wilson. No, now you have a chance
to go get Aaron Rodgers. Okay, his specialty is the

(23:16):
offensive line. But every year, what was it. We're going
to give a guy well past his prime twenty million
dollars and he's got an injury history. We're gonna see
if it works like that was supposed to be that.
That's so many people told me this roster was full. Problem.
There's a lot of star power. It was. It was
a lot of star power.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
No matter how many times I shouted at the doorway
yelling your line, stakes.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Look the offensive line. He's never it's been the Jets
offensive line turnover has been like the Chiefs at wide receiver.
They just keep We're gonna keep doing it, except those
guys show up and actually do their damn towny. Some
of them show up, but.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
But they do more than what you got, only they
don't flip like a turnstile at which one of them
is Canarious Tony.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Smart guy, but is he a champion or is he not?
That's the biggest thing is that he couldn't get the
offensive line right and he is an offensive line guru.
That was what it was all was coming from the Eagles. Hey,
this guy's gonna get the O line right. And he
whiffed on the O line every single Stanley College.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Night.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
I mean, how do you whiff every Everything was the same.
We get a guy wrong in the draft, but we
make up for it by going out and signing guys
to risky contracts because they're coming off of injury or something,
they're older once upon a time, how do you not
get it right?

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Hey, that veteran savvy was gonna pay off eventually.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
But the big question now coming off of this is
all this means Aaron Rodgers has done with the Jets
right he's done after this year, they're walking away. It's
gonna be a new regime. Come in. Not so fast, man,
not so fast. I will give you that. It's the
Jets are nothing because that there's no other team in
the NFL that's gonna pick up Aaron Rodgers right now.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
I liked everybody making the dots so he could do
the full bread farm and show up in Minnesota. Right
Kirk doesn't have the guarantees and McCarthy hasn't played it
down and just had another knee surgery, so I'd not
bring him back to the NFC North.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
I mean, real, look, it's the Jets are nothing, right
and he knows this. So what does this mean all
the Jets are gonna completely turn the page. Well, what
if they don't finish high enough to get their quarterback
that they're gonna draft in the top three? They could,
I mean, they could finish in the top three, top
four and gets But what if they don't. Aaron Rodgers
knows right now he is playing for his NFL future.

(25:29):
This is the only little bit of a change. We
told you how the rest of the series was gonna
go for Aaron Rodgers. A couple weeks ago, he's gonna
find a way to not play the last few games
and see if there's some kind of interest in him
in the offseason. He would go somewhere else if not retire.
But now he's really left faced with his NFL mortality.
All the guys that brought him into the building with
the Jets are gone. He knows nobody else is gonna

(25:51):
sign him the way he has looked so far. So
he knows that if I want to keep playing, I
really got to do something. So really for Rogers the
rest of this season, he's got a play, and it's
in an audition to stay with the Jets for one
more year. Yeah, doesn't mean a way, doesn't mean they're
not gonna draft a quarterback, but it means that instead
of hey, getting a guy that they threw into the

(26:11):
fire twice with Zach Wilson and Sam Darnell and it
didn't work, the new guy's gonna come in and say, Okay,
this is a complete and total rebuild. Sorry, Jets fans,
I know we've sucked for the last decade, but you're
gonna have to put up with some more suckage while
we get this team going. So if he plays well,
Rogers will come back for one more year and and
it will be his final year in the NFL. He'll

(26:32):
announce it somewhere that he is retiring and it's gonna
be it for him, and the Jets will probably keep
him and bringing the quay. He knows that his job
is day. We'll bring the next quarterback along he's gonna
get next year, and then we're moving on, and that's
how we'll endf him. That's about as gracefully as it
could end for Aaron Rodgers. Now is there a bit
where he could play great the end of this year
and say I'm not gonna finish any better than this

(26:53):
and I'm done. Sure, but he still wants to play,
so so by and large, he's gonna be playing this
next few weeks for his NFL future and if he can.
If he stinks and is not better, sometime after Christmas,
he will announce this is it for me. I'm playing
three more games, two more games, and this is it.
I realize that's it. I'm putting everything I have it in

(27:14):
these last couple of weeks and I'm really excited for this.
It's the end of my journey. And that's how it
But that's how it's gonna go for Aaron Rodgers. He's
playing for his job, for his NFL future. If he
plays well, the Jets can keep him while they bring
in their next quarterback. If he doesn't, then by the
end of this year, by the top before the calendar
turns twenty twenty five, Rogers will announce I'm done. This

(27:34):
is it for me. Another couple of weeks, I'm happy,
and then I'll be on TV. Then I'll be on
Pat McAfee every day. It's not just Tuesdays. It'll be
every day with Aaron Rodgers next year with me and
I'll be doing my own show that's on late at
night where I can talk about conspiracies and football and
all kinds of crazy ass stuff. But that's how it's
gonna go for Rogers.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
It has nothing stopping him from doing that now, and
he does. He'll playing quarterback, does it now? Yeah, given
to give it time.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
He's kind of held off a little bit on that.
That's what I'm saying. Once it's done, If he's done,
I don't I absolutely got that. Yeah, you think he's
gonna bow out that gracefully get out of here? Well,
what about all that's left is the fall. How you
fall is a big deal. That's the only thing.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Here's what they need to do, though, if they draft
the guy in the first round, perhaps it can spur
on greatness that's happened. I'm just kidding, but really it
comes down to Johnson and Johnson and how they feel
about it all because that was the power move that
was made. I don't have, you know, copious notes. I
haven't didn't bug the franchise, but you can't tell me

(28:39):
it was all Joe Douglas going, Yeah, let me bring
in this guy and all his jackass buddies to be
my wide receiving corps. Oh and Hacket doesn't matter that
he's no good, but let's have him be the guy.
Oh and we're gonna strip him of his duties, but
he's still gonna have you know, titles, and and still
gonna be around the building as opposed to being out
on his ear like all of that.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
That that's not Joe Douglas. Don't be too sure, I
mean the whole thing. If Rogers plays well, there will
be a big push to say, hey, it wasn't his fault.
It took him a while to come back from his injury,
there'll be a lot of pus and and let we
don't want to rush because whoever they draft first that
screw that and play right away?

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Sure, and then be told no because Aaron rod But
you bring in a new coach, you bring in a
new GM. They're both empty suits. Again, So long does
that guy's happen? Because it's Johnson to him.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
He's lost, but he's lost so much. He's not playing well.
He's lost so much power that all he can do
now is try to hold on to what he has.
The only how that matters is the owner. The rest
of it doesn't matter. Talking here, everybody, look at this point,
he would love to get out from under Aaron Rodgers,
but he can't. But if Rogers plays well down the stretch,
I can see a bit of a Hey, next year's transition. Anyway.

(29:53):
We have money that we have to pay to some guys.
Let's bring our young guys in. Let's not go too
crazy because I'm sure the next gem is gonna come
in and say, hey, I see your problem. You put
all these young guys out there at quarterback way too early, right.
You ruin Sam Darnold's development. You ruin Zach Wilson's development.
Let's go here, we have Jordan Travis on the roster.
We like, we're gonna draft another guy. I'm sure let's
do this, and Widy Johnson will say, yes, yes, let's

(30:15):
do it that way. I don't close the door on
Rogers playing next year. I'm telling you don't.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
No, I think he's still there, Like I don't think
he's going anywhere. I think it's one hundred percent to say.
But again, you're putting a lot of weight on what
the GM, new GM and coach want, Like, hey, would
you like this job?

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yes, here's the rules of engagement. I got him for
a year. That's a free they'll care. It's a free year.
It's a free free we If we suck, we suck. Okay,
it's a free year. That's fine. We're good, we're good.
If Aaron Rodgers sucks, moving on, then our quarterback's taking
over the end of the year. We're good. We're moving on.
We're fine, We're fine. But if he stinks, If Rogers stinks,
he will announce his retirement before the season's over. He's
not gonna allow the narrative to get out of his hands.

(30:55):
Where nobody wants you, so I'm retiring. He's not gonna
do that. He will get he will be well ahead
of that and say this is it for me, and
he'll figure out some sort of payout from the Jets,
who would owe him a certain amount of money. I
think it's a little b less than twenty five million dollars.
They could hold on to him till after June first,
I think, and save half the money. Rogers doesn't want
that to happen. This little figure it pulls up lame,

(31:15):
I mean, cause already hurts. Oh my arm, it's broken.
Oh oh it's broken. That's just like, oh he tried
to move, you know what.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
He'd been dealing with the league injury, that lower body injury,
and they'll turn it like it's a hockey injury.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Lower body injury that felled him. Time to find out
what's trending right now in the wide world of sports.
Martin Wie has everything, including the Mets getting an outfielder
with the initials JS. Because that happened today. Hard is that?

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Siri?

Speaker 5 (31:39):
Welcome to New York, thank you, thank you, Welcome to
New York. U. But the NBA Cup Guys group stays
in ef fact, I know everybody's super excited. The Cleveland
Cavaliers lost, and as also their first loss of the season.
They're fifteen and one after the Boston Celtics beat them
one hundred twenty to one seventeen. Jason Tatum had thirty
three and twelve in the win. Donovan Mitchell had oh,

(32:02):
I had it right here. Donovan Mitchell did not play well.
He's minus fourteen perm Mike Carmen. Earlier today the Hornets
and the Nets Brooklyn wins fifty one, sixteen to one fifteen.
The Nuggets beat the Grizzlies one twenty two to one.
Ten games going on right now, Well, this is by
definition the game, but the Mavericks beating the Pelicans by
forty with two minutes and thirty eight seconds left in

(32:24):
the fourth quarter, one twenty six to eighty five. Luca
has twenty six points three steals at halftime. Between the
Thunder and the Spurs, San Antonio with a three point
leads sixty to fifty seven. No win beIN Yama in
this game. He is resting. The Oilers beat the Senators.
Earlier tonight the Lightning and the Penguins Tampa Bay won
three to two. Wild four to two over the Blues Panthers.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
I'm sorry, Jets six to three over the Panthers.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
Games going on right now, ten minutes left in the
third period between the Ducks and the Blackhawks, Anaheim with
a three to two lead, and started with the third
period between the Islanders and the Flame games New York
one to nothing and the NFL. As you guys were
just talking, the Jets fire GM Joe Douglass. He had
been in the role since twenty nineteen. He drafted the
offensive defensive rookie of the Year during that time, but

(33:12):
also at a record of thirty and sixty four three
and eight this season. Former Browns Jim phil Savage will
take over on an interim basis. Nicolea Jokis miss today's
game against the Grizzlies. He had because of personal reasons.
In Major League Baseball, as Jason said, the Mets acquired
all fielder Jose Siri from the Tampa Bay Rays. The
Dodgers reportedly meeting with another free agent outfielder with js

(33:36):
that's one, Wan Soto. The AL manager of the Year
is Guardians manager Stephen Voit. NL manager of the Year
is Pat Murphy of the Milwaukee Brewers and in college
basketball Top fifth, Top twenty five matchup between Perdue and Marquette,
the Marquette with a fifty seven to forty nine lead
six forty five left in the second half. Jason, Mike,

(33:57):
back to you guys.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Thanks Martin, So there you go again, Aaron Rodgers Dove
be surprised anywhere.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Coming up next, there's one NFL head coach who says,
I Am not even listening to the rumors that I'm
on the hot seat. Here's the thing, if he got fired,
he would get a better gig right away. That's next,
right to here, Jason and Mike Fox.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best friend
Mike Harmon Live the Tireck dot Com Studios. You know,
just think about this for one quick second. Yeah, when's
the last time has it ever happened? Where the Lions
Thanksgiving Day Game was going to be infinitely bigger and
more important than the Cowboys Thanksgiving Day Game. I mean
last year the lines are really good, right, but still

(34:48):
the Cowboys Cowboys were goodlast year. Yeah, everybody's gonna want
to watch the Lions and I'm already ready for the
nap I'm gonna take for three hours during the Cowboys
Giants game. Is the trip to.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
Yeah, well, I mean that's one where if you don't
have any wagering interests, it's second screen experience, Like what's
the movie you've decided you're gonna stream?

Speaker 1 (35:12):
You know what series?

Speaker 4 (35:13):
You know what on your your cable package or YouTube
TV or whatever you got. You know what are you
going to stream during the course of the dam and
you got all of those kind of things. Uh, but yeah,
Lions Bears, we're really looking forward to. We've already figured
out when we start drinking, and that's gonna be when
you wake up.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
I'm gonna be hanging out with my brother that day.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
So yeah, well all right, if I need to bail
you out of gen well no, no, no, we'll be sitting
together and numbing the page.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Now.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
I think I can just VENMO you out of I
don't need to actually show up. I could just VENO
that's true. That's true.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
I mean facial recognition software just to prove who you
are and will be good to go. I appreciate you
and looking.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Out for Yeah, speaking of get out of jails come
Stefanski and the uh uh the Browns head coach today
with defending, well, that's the whole thing. The Browns head
coach today was asked about his spot on the hot
seat with the Browns underachieving this year, and he said, listen,
I don't think about that. I'm just coaching what's in
front of me. You know the answer You normally get

(36:11):
sure and I understand that, but I think I think
the guy, the guy gets that. Hey, if Jimmy Hassel,
who's the worst owner in the NFL, if he wants
to fly on me in competition, yeah, but I don't
know he's Yeah, but he also I signed the quarterback
to the worst contract in the history of the game. Somehow,
Andrew Berry continues and in a situation time in the

(36:34):
NFL when everybody's contract is tradable, I may have the
most ironclad one that's not tradable. Uh. If he gets
let go, he gets a better gig the next day.
I mean, even quicker than Adam Gase when he got
fired by the Dolphins and the Jets hired him ridiculously
like Kevin Stefanski. This is a guy who is a
two time NFL Coach of the Year, that got the

(36:55):
Browns to the playoffs last year, playing four different quarterbacks,
that has found a way to navigate the Browns through chaos,
through bad quarterback play, and the team has never quit
on him. They have stayed together. And now he's got
a little something something with that three wide receiver said,
he's got there with Tillman and Elijah Moore and Jerry Judy. Right,
this is a guy that has done nothing but succeed.

(37:16):
Is this year coming at him for No, it's not.
But look, it's not like the Browns were set up
for success and you can't get over having really bad.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
Quarterbacks play, right, But otherwise you have roster except for that,
you know, that one position, except for the most important
that kind of where.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
You were force fed. That's like terback on your driver's test.
Well outside of when you hit the light pole, you
had a really good driver's test. No, that's it. But
if he gets let go, he has a new job
within twenty four hours. There's no you're coming in. I
don't care what we have to hear coming. You're our guy.
He is a terrific head coach. All those things I
outline that he does. He can bring to a team.

(37:52):
He can bring stability, he will bring starting over, he
will bring a plan. He will bring a long distance plan.
He will bring a plan to get if the quarterback
position stinks. I mean there's no situation that he's faced
with that he has really failed on. Whatever the Browns
threw at him, and they threw a lot at him. Man,
all that chaos, he was able to say, Okay, we're
gonna go in this direction, We're gonna do this this.

(38:13):
I mean, he's able to tackle everything. And that's why
he's so valuable. I mean, two time coach he does.
You don't just lose that over the course of a year. Now,
could your message get stale after a couple Yeah, I
get it, But this is still two time coach theater.
So Jimmy Asam wants to be crazy and say we
need a new head coach. Yeah, I'll take Kevin Stefanski,
give I'll take him in a second is Yeah, no

(38:34):
doubt you would. I would. Giants would stand oney. The
two thirds of the league, all the non playoff teams
would take Kevin Stein Even a few of those would
take him as well.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
But you know, to your point, last year, you look
at the roster, and coming into this year, it was
all right, it's a good roster. Can you get to
Shaun Watson to be functional?

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Not even good? Right?

Speaker 4 (38:57):
It was hold things down till Nick Chubb gems back.
You figure out what you got at the wide receiver position,
and then you push forward and you made a deal.
You've made some moves and Djoku has been in and
out of the lineup, all of that, but you look
at the roster that you have is still solid top
to bottom.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
Right now as we sit here, he is two fours
tied for the seventh.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
Best worst however you want to term it, odds for
the next coach to be fired. Number one jug Peterson
of course, followed by Matti Eberfus, followed by Zach Taylor, McCarthy, Dable,
Gerrod Mayo, which seems really odd. And then he's tied
with Super Bowls at twenty to one.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
Oh there we go, Bo Tu Stefan. Yeah, right away,
how don't even need to interview you. We'll just send you.
Are you done?

Speaker 4 (39:46):
We're gonna send the contract over to you right away.
Just burn all the Polos. We'll send you new ones.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
Exit outbout a Fresco exit swallen' Dome. Coming up next?
What NBA star is just a matter of time before
he's traded to another team. That's next box.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
The song goes out to Joe Douglas Flyaway Joe Douglas,
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon. The Jets fire their general manager, Joe
Douglas out today, the Jets Bears Cowboys. Who's the biggest
dumpster fire? With such a great story to talk about,

(40:35):
we had to move our next guest up from his
normal spot with us on Wednesdays to Tuesdays. He is
a longtime NFL insider. He is a Hall of very
good voter. I'm sure he will have very good takes
with the story on us tonight. You can follow him
on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two, thirty thirty Third

(40:55):
team as well and likely the new general manager of
the New York Jets. Congrat you relations it's Jason Cole. Congratulations,
shake hole.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Oh yeah, you know. I was spending today considering all
the most prominent woodies in American culture, like Woody Hayes,
Woody Widenhoffer, Woody Guthrie.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Sure one from which one?

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Sure? Yeah? I mean but yeah, Woody Johnson, which one
is the most like? And it has to be Sheriff Woodie.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
There's a snake in my boot.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
Okay, that's a water hole.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
Now, before we start this, I want to ask a
question because this is something I've been wondering now the
last few.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
Weeks, not much longer. Should I be a Jetsa?

Speaker 4 (41:57):
No, no, no, no, no, wow. I mean that's dude,
that's forty years. He's going to go to the pearly
gates with that one.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
I introduced you, you know, I introduced you to come
on the show. We give you a big introduction all
the things you're doing, or he play sound bites everything else,
and I say what's happening, and there's like a three
or four second pause before you say something.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
To the music. You know.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
See, I think you're doing the whole I think you're
doing the whole Pat Summer all murder. She wrote and attacking.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
And that I mean, you see how long he could
drag it out.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
It's the murderer, she wrote, She.

Speaker 3 (42:42):
Wrote, maybe you can get a laugh out of Madden.
See that's what we miss in the booths, like every
every booth now and even Drake then last night he
was going through that dismal performance by the Cowboys. He's

(43:03):
they're they're like, they're they're harkening back to Dandy Dodd
saying yeah, turned out the lot of parties, you know,
like that. He wants to do that. He wants to
do it so badly, and he goes, yeah, maybe I
should order a cocktail here. Yeah, I could have used
one about ten minutes ago. Like that's what we need
more of in a football booth. Like when I was
watching Belichick Manning and Manning, you know, and you know

(43:28):
last night, for the first half, I was like, this
is sensational. When you get the curmudgeon, you know, you
get Belichick's curmudgeon, and then you get Eli and then
Peyton's enthusiasm, and they're just and and Eli and Belichick
are both basically ripping on Peyton, which is so great,
and it's like it's a mystery science Theater three thousand.

(43:50):
It's just perfect for a Monday night game because they
have personality and then like you get Troy going, yeah,
I wish I could order a drink to get through
this thing. And it's it's just awesome. But you know,
like the dumpster fire that is the Cowboys, I gotta
say it's worse. But wood he Johnson, like Jerry made

(44:12):
one horrendously bad move where you know he you know
actually too he said he was all in and then
they didn't sign Derrick Henry, and Derrick Henry would have
made them by himself just a normal looking team, and
then the injuries would have caught up with him and
Deck and.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
You wouldn't have the money left to fix the big
piece of metal falling from the roof. That's going to
be a few million dollars.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
They were replaced in that palace. That's not telling back up.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Okay, it's welded for eternity.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
Yeah, don't test that nowhere up there. We don't know
what's gonna fall down anybody. Because I put this, I
told everybody spent a lot of money on it, but
not pocketing most of that from Fort Worth. I got
to tell you that. So that thing is hanging up
by like balin wire. I gotta tell you that whole
roof balen wire and string and I haven't replaced the
string yet and it's not a few games. So that's

(45:06):
how things are going in Dallas. But you could say,
I could see that when Dak gets hurt and then
they've got the injuries on defense, like you can see
why it falls Apartner's logic to it with the Jets,
like you just go, what was the reason? Like you

(45:28):
had everything in place, there have been no major injuries.
Nothing is yo, god, and it's just it's a It
is the dumpster fire of dumpster fires. And then the
owner comes in and decides, oh, I'm going to fix it.
And he knows nothing, absolutely nothing less than zero. Okay,

(45:50):
everything means less than zero. To quote Elvis Costello, he
knows nothing about football, zero, zip, nada. He is the
same guy who used to wear that little propeller cap
owners meetings because he thought it was a joke, and
really the joke was on him. Literally, he would wear
the propeller cap until the league finally said that's not

(46:13):
a good look. Don't do that. We're trying to look professional, right,
but it didn't change the fact that he was the
guy doing that because he knows nothing, zero zip. He
has been the owner of that team for twenty five
years and has not learned anything about football, not us
and that's just amazing to me. Like there's only a

(46:34):
few guys in the league he can say they've learned
nothing over an extended period of time. Now Mark Davis
shockingly knows doesn't know anything about football either, and he's
been around his entire life. So that's that's a crazy
indictment of it. Okay, And Jerry's owned the team longer
than what he has, so he could he could say,

(46:55):
but at least Jerry hired Jimmy and hired Parcels and
he's got the three titles show for it's just been
a train wrecker ever since. What he's got nothing zero, nothing,
and it's only getting worse right now because he is Sheriff.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
Wy Comparing Condrass, McCaskey, Allas and ever flus Go.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
So the Bears the third on this list of dumpter fires,
like they are far below the Jets and the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (47:26):
Well you just but see you knew coming in see
you just know that the Bears like don't know how
to do this, like you just accept it. And again,
George McCaskey, the same guy. I've met him four times,
and every single time I've met George McCaskey, he's introduced
himself by his full name. Hi, I'm George mccasky, And

(47:49):
like George, I meant you three three times before. Okay,
I know who you are. We've met. I promise you
that we we've met. I promise. I mean, like it
just it's just kind of on mind boggling that that
there are teams that they just don't know how to get,

(48:12):
you know, owners who don't know how to get out
of their own way and understand how do you build
a team? You know, when you take a quarterback, what
do you do? When do you stay with a team?
You know, with a coach? And when do you not
stay with a coach? You know? When do you understand that?
By the way, you know, Jets, you opened your season

(48:33):
on the West Coast on a Monday night game like
eleven days later you were playing in London or whatever
it was. You know, like you had this crazy schedule
that you had to deal with. You lost two really
close games and all of a sudden, you got to
fire the coach, Like, how about just be a little
bit patient. I mean that that's every decision that what

(48:55):
he has made this this year has been a panic decision.
Every decision and that the Bears have made and that
Dallas has made has been just normal. That's what they do.
They're just bad at this. Okay, Wood, he panicked, Okay,
and just decided he wanted to take control of it

(49:18):
and just running into the ground. And this is the
he has bottomed out this year.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
Jacole, I hear what you're saying, and I get it,
but you know that the Jets is going to be
the ninth year in a row. They're not going to
finish higher than third in the division. No team has
failed with three four gms, three four head coaches, five s.
Everything they have done for the last decade, they have
failed that. So I kind of understand. Okay, we're not

(49:46):
going to stick with.

Speaker 3 (49:46):
What the common denominator? What's the common denominator? Okay, the
Johnson's run the team found? Okay, what was the song?

Speaker 1 (50:00):
Here's the thing. If they kept Robert solid, this is
still going on. If they kept Joe Dunn, this is
game they were terrible.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
They should call jets Place whatever they call that thing.

Speaker 1 (50:11):
One jet, one jets draw, one jets drive, yeah, one
jet that.

Speaker 3 (50:15):
Thing they should call it the toy barn.

Speaker 4 (50:17):
Now, like big ass toy barny, what do you toy barn?

Speaker 3 (50:23):
That's where you go to buy, you know, all your
favorite toys for Christmas? Such what it is like everything
should be model around Toy Story and which is not
bad because the trilogy of Toy Story ended up pretty good.
So you're thinking it's going to take a turn at
some point in time being equality. But you know the

(50:45):
fact of the matter is, I mean I just don't
even deserve that because toys I'm doing, I'm hurting Toy
Story in this problems.

Speaker 4 (50:52):
Well you know, the fourth one included four caps, so
they might have gone a bridge too far.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
But I'm also thinking now of something like, hey, the
Aaron rod doll, when you pull the string, it says,
not my fault, run on the red line, not my fault.

Speaker 3 (51:05):
What's the story? What's the story of the athletic today?
That woody? Why the bench Aaron Rodgers earlier this year?
Like yeah, for what? Why? What? What nonsense is that? Like?
How how do you know that, like, Aaron's not playing well,
how can you possibly measure whether this is whether this

(51:28):
is working or not based on how little you understand.
He's just you know, he's he's panicking. It's it reminds
me a little bit of Al Davis over like the
last ten years that Al owned the team, where it
was just everything was a knee jerk reaction. Everything he did.
You know, there was never there was never really a

(51:50):
plan in place that you followed. It was just he
did something and then if it didn't work, he just paniers.
And that's that's what you have with the Jets right now.
Like that, that's where you are the last nine years.

Speaker 1 (52:01):
J Cole, It's not just now, it's the last nine years.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
Well, you know, it takes time to develop this and
Jake Ole.

Speaker 4 (52:10):
I've watched him age rapidly in the seat next to
me these nine years.

Speaker 1 (52:14):
And we have the longest earth of not making the
playoffs in North America.

Speaker 3 (52:19):
Come on, man, it's really bad. It's bad. Like it's
it is just humiliating to watch because you made all
these moves that she thought, oh we nailed it. Now.
It's like when George Bush used to speak, remember and
George Bush would get up there and had like he'd
just he'd mangle a few phrases and then he walked

(52:39):
off the stage and nailed it. Nailed it. That's just awesome, right,
you remember those days, right, and that's that's sort of
worth the Jets are at right now. Nailed it, got it.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
He's on Twitter at Jason call sixty two.

Speaker 3 (52:55):
Then I know the question of the Chargers. They have
as many wins. That's both Bears and and the Jets combined, right.

Speaker 1 (53:04):
Uh yeah, so yeah, that math works out absolutely. Here's
your new theme song.

Speaker 3 (53:13):
For you, my new inter music.

Speaker 1 (53:18):
Yeah, thank you, Jacob by Jacoll. There goes Jason Cole
on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. It's at Jason
Cole sixty two.

Speaker 3 (53:32):
Uh yeah.

Speaker 1 (53:33):
That kind of sums up the state of the Jets
and the Cowboys and the Bears.

Speaker 4 (53:37):
Until your third of the Metal Stand buddy. Congratulations. That's
pretty impressive. The fact that he just says, well, they
just continue to not know what they're doing. Yours is
an active participation in the active destruction of your squad
and the continued futility mine is really just their nature,
that's all. He's saying like's just doing they are. I

(54:00):
wanted something a little deeper. I wasn't getting it today
