this is just the first three episodes they released are

beatdowns in the NBA playoffs, because you've had some marvelous games,

a TV show and or something different from what I

mean with the TV on and you playing on your

what it's been the last two games for the Miami Heat.
The Cleveland Cavaliers say hello to the second round by

beating the Miami Heat tonight one thirty eight to eighty three.
In case you di do math really fast, that is
a fifty five point victory for the Cavaliers. This game
was absolutely never in doubt. First quarter, Cavaliers led forty
three seventeen, They led seventy two to thirty three. At halftime,

you say seventy two to thirty three, you would go, wait,
is that old Bellichick and his girlfriend? No, hey, we
don't talk about that. At least nine more we're not
talking about it. Look, it doesn't get more embarrassing in sports,
and I'm serious, it doesn't get more embarrassing than what
the Heat put out there the last two games against

this Cavaliers team. I get that the Heat should not
win this series. They probably shouldn't win a game. They're
eight games under five hundred. This is how it goes.
You get hot, you win a play it, you want
a playing game. I'm not expecting them to win a game,
but you show up and lose by thirty and then
basically it's we've been up, We've been on the plane.
We've been gone ever since, ever since that game three.
This is just embarrassing. It just excited that. That's it.

This is as embarrassing as it gets. Like this is
where pat Riley and Eric Spolst have to look at
each other and look in the mirror and go what
a doing? Like like what what what are we doing?
I mean, we thought things were terrific during the playing week.
We found Tyler heroes our guy. We got to build
around him. Now you see not only just how far
they are from real competition, but how far they are
from caring, from care about about Hey, we'd lose by

the four game four. We're just going through the most.
We're done. We're absolutely well, that's a difficult part of it, right,
You're gonna lose, and you may lose handily. Here you've
got search even lost handily. Losing handily is losing by

and like, all right, we're done.

Damn it. I can't get over just how bad this is,
like when a franchise, you go, I can't even talk
to anybody postgame. I can't even do it because I'm
so incredibly embouded. But it's the antithesis of everything they've
been right.

The identity was toughness, going all the way back to
when he Culture is on two, when those guys showed up,
and the years hence, there was always just an attitude
in the building. Now they didn't have to like Spolster,
you don't have to get along, you don't have to
like pat Riley. But it made it work and the
guys that showed up, you at least knew they were
gonna put their hard hat on and for four quarters

they were gonna battle your ass.

The last two games were on embarrassment. This is Cleveland.
It's as bad. It's bad. This is really It doesn't
get worse on the court in the NBA than this.
Like this is like we we have to question everything
we're doing. If this is how our team shows up
back to the wall. Yes, are you coming back from
die and at home? And I get it, Hey, we're

on the run. You're at home. Men, this is how
you show up. I mean, I get, I mean you
are in Miami and it is a distraction. I get,
I get that Cleveland was gonna win the series. When
you're at home, it's a distraction. I think I'd be Look,
I don't. I think I would take if you made
it the Miami Heat versus one guy and no gorillas,

I would still I would take the one guy over
the heat. Well, we need to do that. I would
take the one guy right from that whole one hundred
men versus a goerilla who wins the whole, this whole
thing going on. I would take one guy scrawny, maybe
five to five, maybe like Steve Rodgers before he took
the serum, and I would take that smart captain of America.

I would take that Steve Rodgers over the Heat. In
this game, he would have won. This is one where
you really wish there was an obligation to where if
a game truly gets out of this sort a camera
is on or a phone has to be turned onto
Adam Silver for the fourth quarter and you have to
watch his face the entire time as he's sitting with whoever.

He could be at dinner. He could be having a
nice bubble bad. I don't care. You have to watch
this Drek too. I mean, I can't get over. I mean,
this is just there's not a lot to say other
than just wow. You should be absolutely impact. And if
there was relegation you would think, okay, maybe he should
maybeach a B. But this is a playoff series. Wrexham
moves up and the heat go out. You're relegated. Things

were so bad losing by fifty five at home. Yeah,
you're getting relegated. You're playing in the you're playing in
the CBA. You're plot Tyler hero.

So you haven't needed to take a shower in a

in twenty minutes. Come on, I get like six minutes
if I'm lucky, and at the end, if we're mopping

up with the other team, I get eight minute. You
can't play me twenty minutes. Can't throw me out exhausted.
You had eight bench guys get at least twelve minutes
of playing time today eight and then the ninth was
I really I can't but look, but this is part
of because you think about this, right, going back to
what we talked about, I'll talk of the last few weeks,
is that as entertaining and fun as the NBA playoffs are,

there's all kinds of drama. You got the NBA now
apologizing for miscalls or fouls to the Lakers, to the Pistons.
Right for all this going on, what do I say,
I don't know that anything is going to stop Cavaliers
or the Celtics against the Thunder in the NBA Finals.
And clearly this is what's going on. Look at all
these other teams that are having some level of difficulty

in their first round play and here are the Cavaliers. Yeah,
we're not even breaking a sweat and we're gonna win
this in four. We're go the last two games by
a combined eighty five points. Yeah, okay, just again, this
is how good the Cavaliers, the Thunder, and the Celtics
are in this one piece of analysis. What's that Wolves
are the best?

Hey at this point, at this point, I would be
surprised if it's Frostburg would hit me over the head.
So I'm not gonna say it. Yeah, go to it.

with the Nuggets and the Clippers and every other series,

knocked down. The first round of the playoffs is knock down,
drag out. This is no longer. Hey, we're up against

the team we're gonna beat in the first round. We
really we're just gonna go. You know, we're gonna play
at a pretty good pace and then we really get
things going in the conference semis. Right, this is way
we feel. No, this is where every year is. You
have to it's a knockdown, drag out brawl just to
get to the second round. Except look at what these
teams are doing. Right, and again this shows you just
how good these three teams are. It's incredible. I mean,

I don't know what it's a it's a complete and
total upside. If we're not talking Thunder Calves or Thunder
Celtics in the NBA finals, that's it.

so there's that. Uh so they're just following year old strategy.

third round, but they liked him in the throat.

I really I feel like it's a bunch of fans

off than you were when you weren't drafted in the
first round? You got to the team that you were

It's a long, circuitous route, rife with storylines, conspiracy, theories,
and chaos, no question about it.

Buy? So we're try and explain how how for you know,
now that the draft is over, we're looking ahead for
Shador Sanders. How the Browns liked him in the fifth
round but didn't like it in the third round like that.
That's the big thing I keep coming back to.

It's odd. It's certainly odd. I mean, I understand that
we're picking people and we're projecting, and it's not just football.
It's not just college level production. It's not just you know, size, height, weight, projectables,
and there's a human element to it. And how these

interviews went, how he presented himself, and how eager he
seemed to do or not to do things in the
run up to the draft. So I get it, but like,
I have a hard time thinking even if you have
concerns about the scope of Pat Shechrmer's offense, and even
if you think the completion percentage was sort of goosed
(18:56):
by all the high percentage passes, and even if you
are concerned by the first down sacks and holding the
ball too long, I mean, I have a hard time
thinking that right now Dylan Gabriels are better NFL developmental
quarterbacks and Sugar Sanders. You know, I just I just do.
(19:22):
I don't think it was just about football. Then I'm
not saying that it has to just be about football,
because especially at that position, it's not. But I mean,
I just have a hard time thinking that, Like if
Sugar Sanders doesn't create any issues, and if his personality
(19:45):
and ego or whatever are sort of held in check,
I have a hard time thinking he's not going to
be one of their two best quarterbacks. I mean, Watson's
not even really a factor. Placo has a four to
six week expiration on him, and then you know his
(20:05):
age and everything starts to show. I think we know
what Kenny Pickett is. I don't think that anybody in
Cleveland's dying to play Kenny Pickett. And then you've got
these two kids, the one who was the far more
successful college quarterback, the one who was more decorated, the
one who multiple general managers told me they thought would
go in the first round. Like you're telling me he's

not going to be better in a pro setting than
the kid from Oregon. I mean, I guess we'll find
out over the next few months, but yeah, it was.
It was an odd, odd situation.

A couple of Super Bowl champions on that squad and
well an undersized lefty that I have to throw my
fortunes in as a fire plug of a man myself.

Away from the draft, Jason, with that, you know, that
controversy and all the would be conspiracies that go into
the Sanders stuff aside, where was it?
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Where was the best storyline for you?

Best storyline.

Team in terms of what they were able to accomplish?
If that sure?
Speaker 3 (21:13):
I mean there were some teams that stood out. I
mean the Browns, you know, they don't have a quarterback still,
so I mean everything else, you know is it's kind
of interesting. I think they probably you know, set themselves
up to raise the overall caliber of their rafter, you know,
(21:36):
in a fairly significant manner. I don't know how many
more wins it's going to produce this year, because again
I've did the five quarterbacks, and I don't love any
of them, but they certainly have made themselves more interesting.
I thought the Cardinals had a great draft. Again, do
I it? Does it bump them up my power rankings
and my buying Cardinals futures to make the playoffs Cardinals
(21:58):
over win total, No, I'm not, but I just found
myself liking what they were doing. You know, the ricks
tend to get richer in these situations. It's not the
deck is stacked. Like if you have a great roster
already and you don't have as many holes to fill,
and you can take some risks and you know, go
out on the limb here or there because of you know,
(22:21):
you're gonna win twelve games no matter what, for the
most part of your quarterback stays healthy. Then you go
into this with an advantage and teams like the Ravens
and the Chiefs and the Eagles are able to sort
of make some luxury picks that maybe some other teams couldn't,
you know, based on some health risks or some character
risks that will probably pay, you know, some interesting dividends
for them this year, and in the case of Simmons
(22:43):
with the Chiefs, probably for years to come.

You know.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
I just the Giants. I just kind of laugh at them, like,
I don't know, man, like, really are we don't think
that this feels like like more deep South Daniel Jones,
Like this doesn't like I feel like I've watched this
movie before and this guy's got longer hair, and this guy,
you know, is this It's it's not Duke, it's all miss.

But I don't know, man, I can't give them the
benefit of the doubt when they make a move like
this for a quarterback. I just really wonder. And I
know a lot of people are lauding them and falling
all over themselves about them, but I don't. I don't
know that this kid's going to do anything to help
them win football games this year. And if he doesn't,
then I think they're all gone and the next group
(23:32):
might want their own quarterback. So be fascinating to see,
you know, how that plays out. I thought Jerry Jones
had a pretty good weekend. We obviously don't know how
any of this is going to shake out for years
to come, you know, but those were those were some
of the things that sort of caught my attention. But yeah,
I mean, obviously this Shador Sanders thing eclipsed everything else.

So okay, So now speaking of quarterbacks, all the underwhelming
draft class come in and now looking ahead, there's two
big quarterback Domino's Aaron Rodgers Kirk Cousins, whichever order you want.
What happens with both of these guys. Now the draft
is over, the dust is settling.

I mean, it certainly seems like Aaron Right is going
to Pittsburgh. I mean I would be giving him a
cutoff point, like I'm not letting this guy who doesn't
know my system, doesn't know my coaches, doesn't know my players.
I mean, this isn't like back in the day Green Bay,
where you know he was already embedded in everything there.
This is a very you know, jumping teams like I
would be giving him a cutoff of, like, hey, rookie
(24:35):
mini camps this weekend, you don't sign here by then,
good riddits. You know, we're not. We're not wasting our
time here, like we're trying to win and we need
to do in our building, learning our people and learning
our philosophies and learning our offense. So, you know, cousins,
I don't know. I mean, you guys, tell me who
(24:58):
where's the fit right now? I don't really kind of
see it. I think most of these beds of the mate.
There will invariably be injuries during OTA for the injury story,
training camp, in preseason games, and it may create a
real situation there. But I don't. I have a hard

time seeing a match right now, you know, Like I mean,
if the Colts were going to do something like that

a fifty five point victory for the Cavaliers. This game
was absolutely never in doubt. First quarter, Cavaliers led forty

is that old Bellichick and his girlfriend? No, hey, we
don't talk about that. At least nine more we're not
talking about it. Look, it doesn't get more embarrassing in sports,

the Heat put out there the last two games against

this Cavaliers team. I get that the Heat should not
win this series. They probably shouldn't win a game. They're
eight games under five hundred. This is how it goes.
You get hot, you win a play it, you want
a playing game. I'm not expecting them to win a game,
but you show up and lose by thirty and then
basically it's we've been up, We've been on the plane.
We've been gone ever since, ever since that game three.
This is just embarrassing. It just excited that. That's it.

This is as embarrassing as it gets. Like this is
where pat Riley and Eric Spolst have to look at

I would still I would take the one guy over
the heat. Well, we need to do that. I would
take the one guy right from that whole one hundred

is that as entertaining and fun as the NBA playoffs are,

there's all kinds of drama. You got the NBA now
apologizing for miscalls or fouls to the Lakers, to the Pistons.
Right for all this going on, what do I say,
I don't know that anything is going to stop Cavaliers
or the Celtics against the Thunder in the NBA Finals.
And clearly this is what's going on. Look at all
these other teams that are having some level of difficulty

in their first round play and here are the Cavaliers. Yeah,
we're not even breaking a sweat and we're gonna win
this in four. We're go the last two games by
a combined eighty five points. Yeah, okay, just again, this
is how good the Cavaliers, the Thunder, and the Celtics
are in this one piece of analysis. What's that Wolves
are the best?

we're picking people and we're projecting, and it's not just football.
It's not just college level production. It's not just you know, size, height, weight, projectables,
and there's a human element to it. And how these

seemed to do or not to do things in the
run up to the draft. So I get it, but like,
I have a hard time thinking even if you have
concerns about the scope of Pat Shechrmer's offense, and even
if you think the completion percentage was sort of goosed

by all the high percentage passes, and even if you
are concerned by the first down sacks and holding the
ball too long, I mean, I have a hard time
thinking that right now Dylan Gabriels are better NFL developmental
quarterbacks and Sugar Sanders. You know, I just I just do.

I don't think it was just about football. Then I'm
not saying that it has to just be about football,
because especially at that position, it's not. But I mean,
I just have a hard time thinking that, Like if
Sugar Sanders doesn't create any issues, and if his personality

and ego or whatever are sort of held in check,
I have a hard time thinking he's not going to
be one of their two best quarterbacks. I mean, Watson's
not even really a factor. Placo has a four to
six week expiration on him, and then you know his

age and everything starts to show. I think we know
what Kenny Pickett is. I don't think that anybody in
Cleveland's dying to play Kenny Pickett. And then you've got
these two kids, the one who was the far more
successful college quarterback, the one who was more decorated, the
one who multiple general managers told me they thought would
go in the first round. Like you're telling me he's

not going to be better in a pro setting than
the kid from Oregon. I mean, I guess we'll find
out over the next few months, but yeah, it was.
It was an odd, odd situation.

more wins it's going to produce this year, because again
I've did the five quarterbacks, and I don't love any
of them, but they certainly have made themselves more interesting.
I thought the Cardinals had a great draft. Again, do
I it? Does it bump them up my power rankings
and my buying Cardinals futures to make the playoffs Cardinals

over win total, No, I'm not, but I just found
myself liking what they were doing. You know, the ricks
tend to get richer in these situations. It's not the
deck is stacked. Like if you have a great roster
already and you don't have as many holes to fill,
and you can take some risks and you know, go

you're gonna win twelve games no matter what, for the
most part of your quarterback stays healthy. Then you go
into this with an advantage and teams like the Ravens
and the Chiefs and the Eagles are able to sort
of make some luxury picks that maybe some other teams couldn't,
you know, based on some health risks or some character
risks that will probably pay, you know, some interesting dividends
for them this year, and in the case of Simmons

with the Chiefs, probably for years to come.
