Speaker 1 (01:01):
There's two two things to tonight in the NBA, right
we're waiting for the late game. Right now, it looks
like the Cavs are gonna beat the Pacers. They're up
one twelve ninety five with about seven minutes to go
in the fourth quarter. But really, there's two things going
on tonight. There's the games. But what we're really all
doing is we're waiting for the Knicks game tomorrow. Like, really,
we're waiting for Nick Celtics, right, I mean, honestly, we're
(01:23):
we're waiting New York, go New York.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Go there we go.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Yeah, We're wait. I'm on drying, I'm walking around just
going go New York. That's in my head today. Hey
signal you jerk. Yeah, go New York, O New York.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yetta.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
How you doing, Yeah, go New York, go New York
co go to Oh yeah, absolute stuff. Really, we're waiting
for the Nick Celtics. That's what tonight is. We have
a couple of games to take our attention, but we're
waiting for the Knicks and the Celtics, which has become
the series of all the NBA series. I don't make
the rules. I don't make the rules. I just follow them.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
I mean, you're not wrong that that game, for some reason,
is drawing a lot of attention. I am interested and
to see what happens at Madison Square Garden for Game three.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
You are not wrong.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
I am one hundred percent probably more into that game
then this Game three, even though it's a very similar
situation where the Cavs, who should be a to zero
are down to zero.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Same thing with Boston, very similar situation. But you're right, the.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Knicks and the Celtics have been the exciting matchup.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
If the roof is still on at MSG tomorrow when
the game begins, I'll be disappointed because I'm telling you,
I said it right after the one game two four
that you're not yet know and we'll play outdoors, We'll
we'll play in a battleship. No find that people aren't
going to understand. You say, oh, home court advantage. It's
going to be the most insane basketball crowd you have
(02:43):
seen at MSG or anywhere else in probably a decade plus.
That's how crazy. Like I'm three thousand miles away in
on this crazy, I know crazy it is. In New York.
It's seven hundred dollars a ticket. And that's if you
want to just go stand.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Just be there.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
Do you want to breathe there?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
If you want to stay and bring Spike Lee something
to eat, Like that's what it's gonna cost you. Hey,
can I come down for a second? Yeah, yeah, come down.
Like no one is ready for what that atmosphere is
gonna I wouldn't be surprised if the middle of the
first quarter people start running on the court, Ben Stiller
and risk A Hargetey run out. There's there's a big
brawl happening, Like that's what the crowd is going to
be tomorrow. It's gonna be absolutely crazy.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
And you know it's also gonna be crazy outside of
Madison Square Garden. I can only imagine people just want
to be there because of the excitement.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Even if you can't get in, I go there. I'll
just go just to be there, just to see what
I could see.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
It's actually one hundred dollars to get within five blocks.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
I would not surprise me if that's the real situation,
because there is so much hype on it, and it's
just like not that the Celtics are down to zero,
but it's like Jalen Brunson actually being mister clutch. It's
you know, Jason Tatum not delivering in those crews.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
It's so much to it.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
There's so many storylines within one matchup and it's yeah,
I mean, you might.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Be right, but that is probably what we're all waiting for.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Ye And I'll tell you that right because now, because
this whole week has been going New York, Go New
York though, right, yeah, but honestly, because I do have
a big concern, a big way, and it's not gonna
be where I'm gonna say, here's my big worry. How many
points are we gonna win by? No? No, no, no.
I do have a big word because this is this
is legit for the Knicks and what we've seen the
last few days. Can they handle success, because that's the
(04:20):
big thing, because now they go win, they win two
games they weren't supposed to win. The entire city is crazy,
the media is crazy, the fans are crazy. It's hard
not to get caught up in this. And for a
lot of teams that play in big markets that haven't
had this success that they're used to, once they get
to that point where hey, the spotlight's on you, we
(04:40):
start to wilt a little bit. Right. You look at
teams in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, some of the
second teams that are hey, we're starting to get some attention. Yeah,
the minute it gets to be really difficult. Guess what
they melt right, it happens to the Jets. I'm worried
to happen to the Knicks. You see it with the Clippers.
Sorry too soon?
Speaker 3 (04:56):
So okay, it's never too soon.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
The minute there's any sort of expectations, Hey now we're
here is when things just happen to them because they're
not used to it. And that's my honestly, my big
concern is are they gonna come out, like, even with
that crowd, Are they gonna come out flat? Is Tatum
gonna come out and hit four shots in the first
you know, thirty five seconds, suddenly it's twelve nothing and
TIBs is getting a time out, and it's what the
hell is happening? Right Like, are they gonna come out
with some kind of the big effort they're gonna need
(05:21):
to really put a dagger in the series, or are
they gonna Hey, we're playing our game and eventually we'll
take over in the third quarter. Because neither team has
played well in the series, like it's basically it's been
the Celtics have just played worse, right, and the Knicks
have played more physical and better in the clutch. But
it's not like the Knicks have played great. I'll look
at the first two and a half quarters. Knicks have
been awful, but they find a way at the end.
(05:42):
But that's my big thing. Are they ready to handle success?
That's honestly, that's the only question because the matchup being
up to zip home, having having home court three in
the next having the Celtics have to win four to
the next five like everything else is there. But how
do they handle success?
Speaker 4 (05:57):
And that's a really good question, because you're not wrong.
If you don't know how to be successful consistently, you
won't know until you get there.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
And they are having success.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
The thing that I'm going to give you the silver
lining here is how they have won in Boston. Right
They're not playing in a small market and winning. They're
playing in a tough market, probably getting yelled at, probably
getting booed every.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Second that they step on the court.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
So they're familiar a little bit with maybe a controversial.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Area or arena.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
But you're right, how can you maintain success if you've
never really been there And they haven't been there in
a minute.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
So right now they're.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
Successful, But can they maintain that, And that is a
good a good question.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Honestly, it's my big it's my big concern. Am I
going to be watching Ben Stiller just throwing up on
the sideline tomorrow? What am I going to see going
to run on the court and start yelling at Jalen Brunson,
Like what am I going to say?
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Right? Are you going to see the Knicks stayed disciplined
in this very you know?
Speaker 3 (06:55):
You know Boston is going to come out swinging, trying
to kick your you know what.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
See.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
I'm hoping they come out like, hey, it's done.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
This is not our year.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Let me tell you that I wanted them to come
out that, come out like that.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
No, No, they might all call Draymond Green to give
them a pep talk to come out as the Draymond Greens,
all five of them, sure, because that.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
They know they can't go down three. They know that.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
So you have to already anticipate Boston coming out like
you haven't seen them before. Boston, though, has won, right,
they've been here, and that's what you're saying. The Knicks
have not necessarily been here. Can they maintain maintain the success?
Can they stay disciplined in game? Three at home.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
It's a big question me. Look, question, it's the biggest
and at least we have these games tonight to distract
us from that big question.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Yeah, distrect you.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
We should get to the games a little bit. Well,
distract every Look, I think if you told everybody, you
told every NBA fan, Okay, you can either watch every
series but the Knicks and Celtics, or just the Knicks
and Celtics. The average NBA fan would say Nixon Celtics.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
I don't think that's ess that's the series. Now, it's
set the two second see his teams right? All the
other teams you're talking about some small market teams, Uh
not with the not nearly the star power of Boston
and New York. Yeah, they that's it. I'll again, I
don't make the rules. How big the Knicks and Celtics is.
I don't know. The Lakers Rids all of a sudden,
Hey look at the Nigs all of a sudden.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Hey all right, Spry's injury all of a sudden. That
doesn't seem as interesting.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
No, no, no, I'm just thinking, Okay, we win this series,
we beat the Pacers, we go to the finals. Who
were playing in the final. We're gonna play the Thunder Like,
that's whe I'm at right now? What do you got, Frostburg.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
It's such a big game that it's not even on
in prime time.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Well, here's the thing. I am a little surprised that
it's at three point thirty in the afternoon, Like, what
the hell are you doing? I can't believe they didn't
change that like three four days ago. But I don't care.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
I don't I don't care what it's gonna go to work,
New York.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Play that game at midnight. I'll play that game at
four am. I don't care. I wanted to play the
game yesterday at noon. That's how fast I wanted to
play this game. Let's go, let's go. I'm ready.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
That's probably how fast you're going to fast forward this game.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
That is it? And just think about this, Just think
about this decision by the NBA, knowing ahead of time,
they're gonna put this game at three thirty in the afternoon,
even if the Celtics were up two zip over the Knicks. Okay,
two zip Celtics going home against the Knicks. We're gonna
put this thing on a three thirty in the afternoon, Like, okay,
that that could have been a better decision, Absolutely could
have been a more flexible.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Decision, especially in New York. Yeah again in the market.
Yeah again, we're talking markets here. And you think the
NBA would have adjusted it. Why they did it, I'm
not sure.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
I mean, maybe they don't want to compete with the Mets.
I mean, you know, the met Mets are on Soto's
heating up, you know, I never know, really, you can't
compete with the Mets. Now, the other game tonight, as
we said a few minutes ago, it looks like it's
going to be a victory for the Cavaliers. And yes,
with just under six minutes left to go, Cavaliers lead
the Pacers one, fourteen to ninety six. Donovid Mitchell at
(09:47):
the free throw line, shooting technicals. Look, this is not
surprising because sometimes it's as simple as Hey, a team
that runs nine deep rotation wise, this is why they
had the best offense in the NBA. Right, you can
lose one star, you can lose one really good player,
and you can plug and play. Right, this is what
the best coaches do, what the best teams do. Hey,
(10:07):
when when your star player is out this is one
piece of the puzzle we're taking out and now we're
gonna go here. Yeah, we'll miss him, but we have
a good enough team. When you when you play a
nine person rotation and everybody contributes and you're missing a
third of those guys, you're gonna struggle. I mean, sometimes
it's just as simple as bling the Cavaliers three healthy studs.
(10:27):
It all came back tonight, right, including Garland, an All
star who's missed the last few games with a bad toe,
who they were able to get by without. Right, They
were able to get by without Garland, no problem. But
now you're missing two other players that are big parts
of what you do. It gets really hard. You get
guys who haven't played in months and they're going, I
gotta play. I usually have popcorn and and and and
try to look for any any really really good looking
(10:49):
people and or what stars are that I don't play
many minutes? You really want me to now? I mean
I've played like eight minutes in the last three months.
Now you want me to play like That's what the
Capers have had to do. So it's no surprise because
the Pacers are a bad matchup for Cleveland, right, in
Generally they're a bad matchup and you're down three of
your best players. I mean three are big rotation guys.
(11:10):
It's impossible. I mean it's really right. And now they're
back tonight and it hasn't been a game in a
long time. Is now a twenty one point lead for
the Caves.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Yeah, it started eleven zero and you're right, it hasn't
changed anything. I think Indiana brought it within maybe eight
or seven at one point.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
But the Cavaliers seem comfortable.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
They took a sigh of relief right before the game
started when they were told all three of their players were.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Coming back for this one.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
And Indiana, as I know, it's not a good matchup,
but Indiana also I feel like for the playoffs, you
can't just rely on scoring by committee, and the Pacers
do that. So I knew they were going to come
back down to earth, you know what I'm saying. And
here we have Tyrese Haliburn four points today, four points
yea after what he just did in Games one and two.
But scoring by committee gets hard when it comes to
(11:55):
the postseason, when it comes to the playoffs, and here
the Calves are just kind of like great our team
is back, what do we have to worry about?
Speaker 3 (12:01):
And that's what it looks like.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Yeah, and you know you mentioned Haliburton, and that's a
big thing because too many games. For he's too good
a player to have the number of games like this
that he does. Right, So he had a horrible game
last game until the fourth quarter we had four shots,
Like how did your best player have four shots in
the first three quarters? Right, that's not happening. But he
has too many games like not that it's every game,
(12:23):
but there's too many. When you notice, boy Halliburton really
is not he's not really into the game. He's only
got eight shots, Like he gets caught up and distributing.
He's got to understand that you make this team go.
And he has too many games where you look at
his numbers and go, wow, it doesn't even feel like
you tried to impact the game. Right, there's one thing
about if he was two for sixteen or two for eighteen, Okay,
I get it, you tried. It wasn't your night. But
(12:45):
when I say next when he's two for eight and
you know, I like, like that can't happen. That tells
me you're not aggressive enough. And there's too many games
he has like this.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
That's what I saying.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
It's like the Pacers rely on scoring by committee. We
saw that throughout the season, when yes, Tyree should be
they but he is a bit streaky, and I don't
know if when he doesn't feel it he just rather
not try so he doesn't make mistakes. I'm not sure
that's the approach because he has five assists. But if
we like the plus minus, he's minus eighteen and you
(13:15):
can't have that. You are the leader of this team,
even though you do score by committee. I think that
way for Indiana, you are the leader, and you've been
awfully quiet in this game, awfully quiet.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
You didn't bet this, did you bet? You didn't bet
Haliburton's numbers?
Speaker 3 (13:27):
No, thank goodness, I bet, goodness.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
I bet more than ten shots. I'm really struggling now.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Eight shots. That is what I yelled at James Harden
FORO and Gay. At least that was a game seven.
I mean no, not at least at least for Tyre's aliburn.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
This is only a game three.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
James Harden doing eight shots in a game seven elimination game.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, last time I do eight shots in a game like,
it's usually the Jets and it's a big, close game
and I'm doing eight shots in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 6 (13:49):
Come on, it's never a close.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Guest.
Speaker 7 (13:52):
A couple of times a year, it's close on the ice. Yeah,
talking about Winnipeg. Yeah, when Hella Buck gets pulled and
I'm like, what is he doing? And all of a
sudden no, no no, and I'm watching made that name
up Winnipeg. You can't name three players on the Jets.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Uh, the New York Jets or the winnip Connor hell
of book, Real Clucier and Morris Lukawitch.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Those are not really he just named the three stooges.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Those are.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Those are all players who played on the Jets at
one point, Will I try to go there, Garret Wilson, Yes,
sauce Gardener, you're good. Ice spice, I gotta say I
spice and sauce. Guarden you got ice and sauce. Oh my,
ice and sauce. Never hey, speaking of ice and sauce.
We got to order pizza, right we the pizza tonight.
We're gonna have special New York Knicks pizza tonight. Go
New York, New York Coat, Go New York co New
(14:42):
York h X. It out about a Fresco Monsieur Monte
on Twitter. Right, that's just you, not Moncey Bolos Clippers. No,
not Moncey. James Harden sucks.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Not that, but maybe I'll make it that. Maybe that
can be my fake account.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Oh you're burner account. Yeah, okay, that's good. Yeah, just
picture his beard.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Maybe that's what I'm gonna do. Don't tell people though.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
I mean that's pretty easy.
Speaker 6 (15:56):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
I mean everything you said a few minutes ago, I'm
just hearing go New York. Oh yeah, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
My brain is usually just Olivia Rodrigo Trader. I'm just like,
you know, wow, Yeah, I love that song for some reason.
Always Trader in my head.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Are you okay?
Speaker 8 (16:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (16:11):
All right, wow Trader.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
I wish I could sing and scream and yell at
the same time, Like what's the paramore girl, Haley? Yeah,
so good, like the being able to like scream, but
sing is something I wish I could do.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
All right. I just want to make sure you're okay.
It's a Friday. It's like positivity Friday, Trader. That's the
song I'm thinking about right now, Trader, and you know
who you are.
Speaker 8 (16:38):
I totally thought she was calling Olivia Rodrigo a Trader.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Wow, that's a hot sake right there.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
I thought that I love her.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Who doesn't I'm going to put that on Twitter? Does
not Monte hang on at Monte Bolanos just call the
a trader no no though, Yeah, and I had her Yeah, no,
it's all good.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
I can sing that one too.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
That was a song I know men like the early nineties. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
then Mindosa, Yeah, mint Rosa and Rico Suave and Rica. Sure,
I'm playing those songs on the radio in college, playing
Rico Suave nice in college nice when you were probably
like five years old, going Rico Swave. I'm going swavey
(17:29):
and then they there, you're responsible for the baby boom
that I am. Well, me and Girardo we were. We
were both responsible for the guy that sings Rico Suave.
Coaldo No no, Gerardo. Gerardo was his name, Roaldo Heldo
River maybe I know, maybe heraldic, but Gerardo beg Gerardo
who he was? Yeah he was uh yeah spoiler. Yeah
(17:51):
he killed Frogman in Colors.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
Yeah that was tough.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Yeah, yeah, that was tough. Yeah. Uh do you know
if I say colored, do you know what that is?
Speaker 4 (17:58):
No?
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Movie colors? Oh Man, movie colors, Sean Penn, he's a he's.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
A police officer.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
It's gangs in LA and early nineties Colors, iced Tea
does the song when iced Tea first came out. We're like,
oh my goodness, this guy is amazing.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
That's all he did.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
No, no, no, no, I just walked like a giant
police defiant. You'll say to stop, but I'll say that
I can't. Ah. Oh yeah, Colors is I think that
was his first big song was Colors, just one color.
Colors color looks cold? Oh you color? Yeah, well you
are young Maria Cochinah Alonso. Oh yeah, yeah, wasn't Mario
Lopezn't there? No, no, he was. He he was in
(18:35):
Access Hollywood right after. That's what I'm pretty sure he
was in it. Him and Screech, they were both in it.
Speaker 6 (18:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Screech was the rookie patrolman.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
I don't know, man, what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (18:46):
All right?
Speaker 1 (18:47):
I'm just saying I'm trying to trying to give some
love to save by the Bell crew, because show that
I watched even up to the college year, to me too,
I stopped in the college years.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
I watched it all the way through through the wedding
in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
You went through the wedding.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
I went through the wedding in Vegas.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
There.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Yeah. Once they got to college and Bob Golic, I
used to work with once by. I was like, okay,
now I'm like it's just kind of lost its thing,
like it was Bayside and.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
It was you know, and then Lisa wasn't in it. Yeah,
Screech wasn't in cage at the Vegas wedding.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
They were all back. It was like the O G
Crew of the college people.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Yeah. No, no, it was a redhead in college. I
can't think of her name, but the redhead in college.
She wasn't in the Las Vegas episode. I found that weird.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Oh okay, now you know I used to know Dennis
Delson really well, Principle Oh yeah, yeah, Dennis Haskins really well.
I mean he was principal Belding. He came on my
show in ESPN a few times. I had lunch in
a couple like we've lost touch over the last few years,
but like our birthdays are the same day, and he
was really nice hung and he listened to the show.
He was really good friends. He might still be, but
(19:50):
he was really good friends with Tony Romo. Really, him
and Romo we're really good. And one time he called
me from a karaoke bar Dimples, like the big carry
okey bar in the valley here. He called me and said, hey,
I got I got Romo. You wanted to come on
the show? I go, can he be on the show? Like,
I mean, if you're out hanging out like this is
not time to come on the rings? Well, let me see,
let me see. And then I didn't call me back.
(20:13):
Probably a good idea. Probably good idea, not put Romo
on the What a great story? Yeah, oh no, he's
as I'm sure I have a really good I have
an even better uh, mister Belding story. But it's an
off the air story.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Oh I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
I mean, it would be an on the air story
if but I would have to get his permission to
tell it. I'm sure he'd be okay with it, but
I don't. I don't want to respect. But it's a
really good it's one of my favorite stories ever.
Speaker 8 (20:40):
And while you're telling that one, you can tell the
one where you stalked Mark Paul Gostler at the moment.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Oh yeah, I forgot about I didn't stalk him. Yeah, okay,
so it's fine, no no, no, no, no, so okay, okay, okay, no, okay.
So it was a day where I filled in on
five seventy here in l A. And I was in
bur Bank and I did the show from like twelve
to three, and then the show here starts at seven.
I'm like, am I gonna drive all the way home
and then drive all the way back? Like, no, I'll
(21:07):
just come here. I'll go to the mall, I'll shop,
have dinner, and then come to work.
Speaker 8 (21:11):
Right.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
So I go to the mall and and uh up
and you know, not too far from me Encino, and
I go to the food court and I'm sitting there
and I'm meeting also look up and I go, oh
my god, it's Mark Paul Goslar. As like he was
like five tables away from me. So I go on Twitter, like,
I wait till after it's over, because I don't want
to put it out there that I'm at, like just
in case, I don't want anybody know where to tell
people where he is. So I wait till he's done,
(21:32):
and he leaves, and like, you know, probably a half
hour later, put out Wow, just had dinner about six
tables over from Mark Paul Goslar, And I said, boy,
it was really tough for me to not go over
and say anything to him. And then he hits me
back on Twitter and says, oh, that was you staring
at me the whole time. And I'm like whoaa people, no, no, no,
whoa because he didn't read it, he didn't see, he
didn't know. He was just like saying, that was you
(21:53):
staring at me the whole time?
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Like no.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
So then I'm in my timeline people are going, dude,
what were you doing? Like no, I wasn't doing anything.
He's just being funny. It was actually forty five minutes ago.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
That would happened.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
One time I was having dinner at the ESPN Zone
and I was one table away from zac Efron, like
he was at the next table.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
When he was really really cute.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Oh no, this is this is this is right after
High School the musical. So this is Zach and this
is before Greatest Showman, after High School the music. He
is like, oh my god. So I'm like, wow, Zach
Efron's that's pretty cool. So I wait again until he
leaves and I go, oh, wow, was next to you know,
was right next to Zach Efron having dinner tonight. And
then I said, you know, should have told him I
(22:36):
had him on my high school basketball fantasy team, right
something like that within a minute, within a minute of
me tweeting that out, within a minute, I'm not lying.
Within a minute, Boom, I get hit up the official
Zach Efron fan Club, the count going, were you at
the game tonight? Are you at the game? Are you
across the street at the game? But I'm like, whoa, wow, Okay, okay,
(22:57):
That's why I waited till he left. Okay, just so
something like this, are you across the street at the game?
Like all right, I'm sure he's going to the Laker game.
I'm sure, so okay, but I am okay, that's you know, okay,
just went nah. Then I waited to write back you go, yeah,
oh sorry, I didn't see this. I did deal. I
didn't see your tweet until a while ago, and I'm like, okay,
I'm not gonna I don't know. I get official account
(23:17):
of Zach f Rod had a lot of followers, like
you know, in the hundreds of thousands of followers. Whatever
it was. I'm like, okay, but I wasn't gonna say, yeah,
he's right next to me at the ESPN zone.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
What do you want?
Speaker 1 (23:26):
What am I to ask?
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Right now? Hey, let me get him up let me
get up live on Live. I've done before me. Yeah, hey, Troy,
pick up your shirt. I want to just see if
they're real. Just pick up your shirt. Let me see,
let me let's see.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
Yeah, we're on this together.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
So wow, I didn't think we go down that, but
you know, hey, you mentioned saved by the bell. Let's
where we go. So the as we wait Oklahoma City
and Denver just underway eight and a half to go
in the first quarter, Thunder lead at eight to five months.
Who will have more on this coming up in a
couple of minutes. This is the last show we'll have
before the NBA Draft lottery on Monday. Now, let's file
(23:59):
this under the cagory of I'm not saying, I'm just
saying I don't know anything. But okay, if anybody except
the Sixers, the Mavericks, or the Bulls get the first
pick in the draft, I will be the most surprised
(24:20):
guy in the world. Cooper Flagg is going to start
his career in either Philadelphia or Dallas or Chicago. Now
maybe Chicago, because now they got a pope. Who's probably
gonna even what a perfect time to get the pope?
Right Bubbles three days before the draft lottery. I mean,
I mean, I'm sure he's gonna be there, blessing the
ping pong balls and everything else. I'm sure you gotta
(24:42):
do something. But I don't know anything. And I'm not
saying there's there's you know, hey, here's a cold envelope,
and here are some bigger ping pong balls and the others.
I'm just saying, you have a guy coming into the
league that could have a Caitlin Clark like effect on
the WNBA. Where here's the next big score, here's the
next big star coming in that could really just put
(25:03):
up put a former heritage team popular team on the
map right away, right like we see stars all the time,
right Wenby came in a couple of years agoing now
the Spurs are back on the map, and and everything
he can do. But really, Cooper Flagg coming in a
guy we watch him a bigger deal because we watched
him in college. You know, Wemby was a guy we
knew he was really good. Here's some highlights from overseas.
(25:24):
All right, that's great, But Flag is coming in once.
What guys like Cooper Flag and Zion and and guys
that come in once in a while and you think
the NBA is looking at this going man Zion in
New Orleans has really just sucked for us, right like
it's really it sucked for him. It sucked for us.
He can't stay on the court. Uh, Cooper Flag ware
where I'm not saying I know and I'm not saying it,
(25:47):
but boy, Sixers, Mavericks or the Bulls with a heavy
favorite for the Bulls because now they have God on
their side. Heavy favorite for the Bulls for Cooper Flag
on Monday.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Okay, I hear what you're saying.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
And in all honesty, he does need to go to
a team like that in order to have the success
or an effect.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
He can't go.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
I'm sorry, he can't go to the Hornets, right like
you can't go to the Washington Wizards.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
I hear you. But what about you listed three teams?
What about the Spurs. You don't think.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Cooper Flag can Oh you can't get no, no, you
come on Wemby and get no, come on, no, no,
the Towers already I know, no, come on, you can't
do that.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
They do that again.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
You can't do that to the NBA. You can't go.
We won Tim duncan we stunk for that. Now again
they went from David won the lot for David Robinson. Hey,
we won chance. They won the lottery for Tim Duncan. Okay,
now they win it again for Webby. No, they're done.
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
Putting them two together would be for the NBA. He
goes to Chicago. It's good in theory, Kury is not
ready to win with just him. How many moves to
Chicago made over the last couple of years and they
just cannot.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Get They're all terrible, they're back.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
So just bringing Cooper flag in theory is good because
of Chicago have a new pope. Obviously Michael Jordan and
all that.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
But you got a new pope and they had Michael Jordan.
That's Chicago's legacy.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
They have all the goats and all the goats. I
get that.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
How do you know that this pope is a goat?
He hasn't done anything yet. He's I mean, he's the
he's the he's the American pope goat because he's the
only one. So I just feel like, go ahead, rank
the popes ranked the rank the popes one through two
sixty seven.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Go the Francis.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Okay to John the second the second. Yeah, everybody likes him.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
He was really really liked it.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Yeah, oh you know he was before your time. Everybody
loves you.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
She had a picture of him for like years, so
I you know, I grew up looking at my mom's cat.
I'm not very Catholic, but my mom's right Catholic.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Okay, you know, does the Rosary every.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Day and this h wow. Okay, so everybody Pope John
Paul on the second is on everybody's left.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
And then that's as far as I can go.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Well, then you know there's thirteen other leos. Sure, so
you could go one through thirteen there that suddenly now yeah,
it's like it's like you're doing the NCAA tournament. Okay,
all right, very good, Okay, all right, So without your
Pope rankings and your point on.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
Chicago, Chicago in theory, I like, but they would not
be successful. So wouldn't he go to a team Like
if we're believing that the NBA is gonna maybe you know,
manipulate a little bit of the draft to put Cooper
Flag in a situation where the league benefits.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
He has to go to a team that can be
successful immediately.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Lakers.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Yeah, okay, Okay, we're being serious here, Frostburg.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
We're I mean, like, I know, I also thought of
like Utah, like pairing him up with Lori marking in.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
But Utah is not a place I think that he
would end up. So San Antonio to me, keeps coming
up as a possible place.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Yeah, I know that if they didn't have Wemby, I
would say, okay, I to it. You know what, you
don't you know what the owners would do if I's
the Spurs winning again. Come on, no way, years just
two years ago?
Speaker 5 (28:51):
They just years ago.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
I'm sorry you said that. I was thinking like a championship,
won the lottery.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Two years ago, right, he only win two things. You
win the NBA Championship and you win the lottery. That's
two wins in the year. That's all it is.
Speaker 6 (29:05):
He's only allowed to go to the Spurs. If Ji goes.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
To the Lakers, Jannis is gonna maybe, I don't.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Know Connes anywhere. He's going to the Knicks because because honestly,
the Knicks are the only team that can trade for him.
They're the only team that has the assets that get
They can give you a couple of good players. He
can do it to trade for him. Well, I mean, yeah,
here's a thousand first round picks. Yeah, okay, theory they
could do that Isaiah Hartenstein and seven first rounders. Yeah,
but I'm telling you that Chicago's the favorite Philadelphia, Dallas.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
But the only reason, I mean, I don't want it
to be Philly just because I have a you know,
bad taste in my mouth Philly because of Paul George.
But Philly would be better with him, right, Like, they
would be immediately successful with him.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
I don't want to see Nico Harrison at the lottery
middle fingering it to everybody.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Yeah, yeah, this was the plan Dallas.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
He would be immediately successful. But Chicago, I like it
in theory, but he would not be immediately successful.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
H it doesn't matter. It would be he would be relevant,
and it would flip the script and Chicago would be back.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Chicago would be in the plaque next year.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Yes, okay, have a play again, same day. We need
to figure out Monday through Friday. During that we got
to put good teams in it, right, we had, We
had the Warriors in it. This year worked out fine.
The Eastern Conference has no juice in the playing round.
No they don't. No, they don't uh time now to
find out what's trending in the wide world of sports.
As monts, he continues to rank her popes, what's happening
in the NBA, and further with what's trending?
Speaker 4 (30:34):
All right, Well, the Cavaliers did not go down three
as expected from the jump. They did defeat the Piecers
one twenty six to one oh four. Donovan Mitchell forty
three points. He had such a good game. His acrobatic
style was up and down the floor at halftime. We
were talking about Tyreus Halliburn at halftime, Jason, he had
(30:56):
two points at halftime and he ends.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
With four points. He took shots in the first half
and he ends with eight shots in the second half.
So it's like you did nothing in the second half.
Tarre's Halliburton. But the Cavs win it. So Indiana still
leads this series two to one. Okay, see and Denver
going at it.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
I don't know if you guys saw that Nicola Yoka
showed up in the Joker outfit, not with the makeup,
but like the outfit was a Joker outfit. And the
thunder are up right now seventeen sixteen, with about five
minutes to go in the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
Jalen Williams Nikola Jokic both have five points.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
We'll check in the NHL how things are going Maple
Leaves and Panthers.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Is it officially over?
Speaker 4 (31:34):
They were in overtime tied app four a piece. Are
we going to another overtime?
Speaker 3 (31:38):
No, it's over?
Speaker 4 (31:40):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (31:40):
It's over? Johnny, it's over over. Brad Marshan, it is
Brad Marshan. Literally, I guess game.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
I did not bet that it is over. We've got
the Stars and the Jets. The Jets are up to
zero after the first period.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
In baseball, it's the twelfth inning between the Red Sox
and the Royals.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
They're tied at one apiece. The Padres are all over
the Rockies twelve to two. Bottom of the sixth inning.
The Orioles, who are struggling this season, are beating the
Angels three zero. Bottom of the fourth inning. The Dodgers
and the Diamondbacks were tied not anymore. LA is up
eight to three bottom of the third inning. About to
start in Arizona. The Blue Jays have a five to
one lead over the Mariners after three innings, and the
(32:17):
Yankees have scored first against the A's.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
They're up to zero top of the third inning. The Pirates,
who just fired.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
Their manager, also snapped their seven game losing streak today
after beating the Braids three to two.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
The Tigers have won five in a row.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
They edged the Rangers two to one, and pitcher Trek
scooble seven innings pitch, two hits, one air and twelve strikeouts.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
The Cardinals have won six in a row. They shout
out the Nationals ten zero.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
The Rays defeated the Brewers four to three, The Guardians
blank the Phillies six to zero, and the White Sox
outscored the Marlin six to two, snapping their four game
losing streak, while the Twins snap their five game losing
streak with the three to one win over the Giants.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
It's a busy night, JASONA.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
It's busy, especially when when you gamble or don't gamble
and all that stuff. Yeah, it works out.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
No, this is bad.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
Anyone who gambled in this Cavalier Spacers game probably did
not do.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Exit out Vata Fresca at Monsey, Bolagos, Jason Smith, Monsey
and from Mike Harmon Tonight. Coming up next, we got
the play of the Day and a big time mistake
that one huge network made. I can't believe it happened,
but it did. That's next Fox.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Go New York, Oh, New York, Go New York, Go
New York. O. Every song, every song. That's what it's got.
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon. Monse in from
Mike tonight. A mistake that I can't believe millions and
millions of people got to see first. But how about
the play of the day. For over forty years, tire
(33:54):
racksmen helping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive. Shipped fast and free, backed by
free Road as a protection with convenient installation options like
mobile tire installation. Tirerac dot Com is the way tire
buying should be. Well, when you're in overtime and you
score the game winning goal and it's to night where
the Knicks aren't playing in their off so it's not
the Knicks, Well, you get to be the play of
(34:15):
the day.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Up top Harsham shot over time.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
TNT on the call. The Panthers win their first game
of the series. They always any time they need a
goal with late in the third period overtime, I feel
like the Panthers just always get it. It's so frustrating,
it's so incredibly frustrated. But the knicks are up to zip.
So it turns out it's okay, so we're good.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Everything else is, everything's fine, nothing to worry about.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
So this I can't believe. This got on the air
at MLB Network last night and it's getting everywhere. Today.
They were doing a feature on Ellie de la Cruz
and his brother, and Elie Delacruz look his twin brother,
what one of the best players in Major League Baseball.
And it's just they're doing a story on him and
they show a picture, a double picture of him with
his brother when they were younger and a recent one
(35:16):
and it's one picture that did a cake and fry.
I think it's I think it was from when Ellie
de la Cruz signed with the Reds. I think that's
when it was. So it's him and his brother when
he signed to the Reds. There and now a more
current picture and Ellie de la Cruz is is you know,
he's he's got the w up there and his brother
has his middle finger up in the picture. It's he's
(35:36):
flipping off the camera and somehow that made it on
the air. Nobody saw that, and it made it on
the air. We got that picture of Dela cuz yeap
his brother. Yeah, I mean you can't miss it. You
can't miss it. You can't miss what's going on. And
he and he's got his middle finger up and yep,
we're gonna put it on the air.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
It's kind of incredible because you know, this was a
package this, like you said, this was a story on
Ellie de Lacruzeh and his twin brother who happens to
be much shorter than him, twin brunner, much shorter than him.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
It's quite funny. Looks nothing like him, No, they actually couldn't.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Like the hair is different, but they do have a
very similar face if I zoomed in, But they don't
look alike because the high difference is ridiculous. It's like
me standing next to e from Salam. Literally, like that's
what it looks like. Okay, are you exacty?
Speaker 1 (36:21):
He literally is twice as tall as you.
Speaker 3 (36:23):
Yes, And that's what this mixture looks like.
Speaker 4 (36:25):
And Ellie de la Cruz is doing like something with
his hands, right, not flipping the camera off, not flipping
the bird, and his brother is so I wonder if
they just like kind of like glanced at it and
they're like, oh, yeah, they're both doing something with their hands.
But you know, more than one person approved it, the
whole package.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
This is, this is where this is. And the thing
is this tells me that well, maybe you know, a
lot of networks have had cutbacks because normally this is
something that the person put it, the person who pulled
the video's who got the video got to see it.
The producer who was putting the package together saw it,
the editor who was putting the package together saw it.
Whoever watched it before it went on the air got
(37:03):
to see it. An entire control room of probably fifteen
people see all as, okay, that's great, and then they're oh, whoa, whoa,
whoa dump back dumbat and somehow it made the air somehow.
Him and I get that if one person doesn't see
it because he's got the middle finger up in front
of his chest, it's not like he's got it up
in the air going yes, yes, yes, what's very cash No,
(37:25):
not like me as a Knicks fan, going yeah, he's
got it, like over so I could see where one
person looking at it quick is not going to see it, right, okay, great,
Like here's here's only I think he's doing.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
The west side, right, that's what he's doing exactly.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Okay, yeah, they're doing the west side? Would and I
miss it? But like one person, but how many people
miss this?
Speaker 3 (37:43):
And then it gains on the air and it's approved greenlit?
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Go ahead, put this package out there to showcase this
exciting player that we have in baseball.
Speaker 6 (37:53):
Hell you guys ready for the best part of it?
Speaker 8 (37:54):
Oh yeah, what do you Not only did it make
the air, MLB network hicked the game up and showed
it nationally.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
Yeah, so that was on every TV.
Speaker 5 (38:07):
Check.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Hey, that's a great day La Cruise feature. Let's put
that on there. You with the middle finger? Yeah, go ahead,
let's run.
Speaker 8 (38:12):
Because I know how that station takes a game from
a local market. That's what happened with that package.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
Just like okay, so the first person to receive these
pictures the first one, because you know that they probably
sent them more than one picture. Like here's a couple
of the pictures that you could use of our of
our sons or me.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
And my brother.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
Here's some pictures. The first person like to select those.
It's like, did you do this on purpose? Because how
did you miss it? Somebody picked those pictures?
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Oh no, how about if you're you're Elle de la
Cruz or Ellie de la Cruzz family. You said, yeah, give,
We're gonna give you the one of my yo of
Ellie's twin flipping off the camera. There you go, see
if you can use that.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Maybe it was a trick. See if anyone catches this.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Let's I'll bet you one hundred dollars. Nobody use that.
They'll use both of these and nobody catches. Oh, you're on,
you're on, you're on. Like Ellie and his brother had
a bet on that, I bet you the middle finger picture.
It's not gonna make it. This is and that work.
They don't put anything on the air.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
Oh no, no, no, you know it's in Spanish. The
conversation was in Spanish.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
Oh yeah, yeah, So they put it on when they
picked up the local game. It wasn't on the network broadcast.
It was the local game they picked up to air
national channel Oh my goodness.
Speaker 6 (39:19):
So every good person who was watching MLB network saw that.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Wow, this is and this is where when you're the
anchor in the studio, you're the first person they showing.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
Like if it was just the Reds local broadcast, nobody
would be talking about it.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Oh you know, No, it's like four people watch and
there's as a deep drive to left by Costeanos. Okay,
so we have a Yeah, it would have been but
to be the first person to go, yeah, sorry about that.
We'll be back right after this. Is that what happened?
Speaker 6 (39:47):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (39:48):
That's so you do.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
You got to keep going right. You just got to
pretend you didn't see it. There's two ways everybody else
didn't see it. I'm going to pretend.
Speaker 4 (39:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
But here's the thing. But nowadays, like the internet's gonna
get it, so you I kind of have to understand,
Oh I need to say something about this.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
But like if so many other people missed it, it
can't be on the person that's in the studio.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Oh no, it's not on the person in the studio.
But it's like, hey, Lauren Shahati, we need you to
kind of say something. When we come back from break here. Okay.
I know you probably didn't see this, but this is
what's going on. I have no idea exit. How about
a fresca at Monte Bolango's coming up next. We got
a big football story coming your way. Happy Friday.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app Friday.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Night Party Everybody, Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show
with Monte Bolango Send for Mike Harmon. I told you
Frostburg best rock song in the last ten years. Songs
about five days old, Wolfgang van Halen's Mammoth. This song
is amazing. It starts out You're shot out of a rocket,
(40:59):
telling you this is nepotism. I can get behind because
I can't wait to see the next album from Mammoth
because this song is amazingly good. The video is fantastic.
Danny Trejo is in it. It's kind of an Omazda.
It's Nomazi from Dust Till Dawn. Okay, the Salma Hiak scene,
which is the greatest scene in history of movies. There's
all these big rock stars that are in it. Valeri
Burtnelli is in it and she's fighting off zombies. But
(41:21):
this song is amazing. We'll think Van Halen is I
mean to plays all the instruments on this song. This
song is amazing, and look, you know, it gets us
into this is the guys. I wanted to hear the song,
but it gets us into nepotism because I love nepotism. Yeah,
and here's the thing. I don't mind it as long
(41:42):
as you know a couple of things. As you know, Look,
nepo kids here in Hollywood are a big deal. And
you know, getting chances at other people trying to break
into the business wherever it is, don't get and I
don't mind as long as you know one you know, yeah,
I get it. You know, everybody works hard, you know,
but understand that getting a break is half story. And
when you're you know, a kid of a famous singer
(42:05):
or a famous actor or actress, yeah you get you
get the leg up over everybody else. Right, And as
long as you hey, I understand that I got a
really good break. Okay, great, because if you're not good
at what you do, it doesn't matter, right eventually as well, Yeah, yeah, okay,
but you're not any good. And you know, here's Wolfgang
van Halen, whom I'm telling you he's just I remember
Eddie van Halen doing an interview shortly before he died,
(42:26):
and he said, I'm not worried about my legacy. My
kid is going to bypass everything I can do. And
he does all the things that Eddie did. He plays
all the instruments. And Eddie grew up. He was playing
the drums and finally he played guitar, and his brother said,
why don't you play the guitar and I'll play the drums.
How about we do that? And now this song, it's
about a week old, and it's it's it's an incredible
(42:46):
so like I said, it's I'm listening to it over
and over and over and over. It's like if van
Halen met Lincoln Park. That's what the song. It's a
good description. And they're working on the new album now
and coming out like like Mammoth is terrific. And this
gets to what happened today, because what did you see
The big headline in sports was Charlie Woods, Tiger Woods's
kid failed in the second attempt to qualify for the
(43:08):
US Open. Right, like Charlie Woods' is sixteen was three
over par seventy five in Florida earlier today, seven strokes
off the required score of sixty eight. But he's getting better.
Last year he tried to qualify as a fifteen year old.
He was nine over. Part mean, he's playing championship courses
and he's sixteen years old. And when this headline came
out today, I said to myself, this is how the
(43:31):
PGA Tour gets past the Tiger Woods hangover? Right, Because
Tiger Woods comes out, you know, as you know, we're
waiting for him for so long. Ninety seven, he wins
the Masters in his first big event, and all of
a sudden, golf changed forever. He changed the sports forever.
There's very few athletes that have changed their sports forever.
Tiger Woods did it. Caitlin Clark is in the process
of doing it now. But now where does the PGA
(43:54):
Tour go?
Speaker 4 (43:54):
Right?
Speaker 1 (43:54):
Okay, they're still in the Tiger Woods hangover like boxing
was in a Mike Tyson hangover for you, still on
a Mike Tyson, Hey, is he gonna fight again? Can
he fight somebody else?
Speaker 4 (44:03):
Not?
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Jake Paul? Can he fight? Can he still do like
they waited for so long, and I'm sorry there was
nobody else, but there was no one to take up
the attention and the popularity of Mike Tyson. Now golf
is doing well, there's big personalities, and there's really good players,
but it's not quite to the point of Hey, Tiger
was and still is in many ways the PGA Tour.
He's not gonna win anymore. He's not gonna be healthy enough,
(44:26):
he doesn't play long enough. How are they gonna solve
this problem? We keep pointing to, well, Rory McElroy, if
it was him, Bryce and d Chambeau. We thought it
was Jordan's speed for a little while. But honestly, what
it's gonna be is we just got to wait another
couple of years for Charlie Woods. Obviously, he's he's Tiger
Woods his kid. Obviously, you know he's nearly good enough
to qualify for the US Open when he's sixteen years old.
(44:48):
Tell me when he hits the tour, he isn't gonna
be front page everywhere. He and Tiger for a while,
to be he and Tiger, obviously, he and Tiger, He
and Tiger. Then if he wins, he goes on, he
forges his own identity. But this is how the PGA
Tours said, Okay.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
We just had to wait.
Speaker 1 (45:02):
We just had to wait for Charlie Woods to get
old enough so we could get into play, and that's
going to be. This is how the PGA Tour gets
back to the levels it was with Tiger because who's
not gonna be in for this? And obviously Charlie Woods
has the game and he's good enough, and eventually it's
gonna be, Hey, how's Charlie doing? It'll be just Charlie
like Tiger was just ty Charlie. Is Charlie playing this week?
Where's Charlie? Oh, he's gonna make the cut. Charlie's doing this.
(45:25):
Charlie's doing this. He'll be a one name star, just
like his dad. That's how the PGA too, whether they
know it or not, today, their issues for how they
get past the Tiger Woods Zara have been solved. You know.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Is maybe like a year or two ago when Charlie
Woods was playing here and there, I was like, this
guy should play with a different name. Like Goldie Hans's
daughter is Kate Hudson. They don't have the same name right,
Like that's her daughter Rode right, Okay. Then Dennis Quaid's
son has a different name. I can't think of his
will it's Jack Quaid. But you know, like sometimes the
(45:57):
Neippo babies choose a different name on her right. So
for a while I was like, Charlie Woods should not
go by Charlie Woods. He should go buy another name
so people don't focus on him, and he could just
carry Daniels Charlie Daniels and you could just go out
there and play. But clearly I'm wrong because you're onto
something because this name is going to be huge for
(46:18):
the PGA, especially because, like you just said, he's gotten
better every year. When he and Tiger Woods play that
father Son tournament, they're always They've been in the finals.
A few times they haven't won, but they get to
the finals.
Speaker 3 (46:29):
He's been better every year.
Speaker 4 (46:30):
Only sixteen. He is going to be so big for
the PGA Tour. And it's crazy because people don't really
dislike Tiger right, like everyone loves Tiger Woods. Lebron James
is a polarizing athlete, so when Bronni James comes into
the league, everybody has something to say and a lot
of it can be negative, but I feel with Tiger Woods,
it's not going to be a lot of negative chatter.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Every Okay, his his ex's probably absolutely.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
In general, nobody holds that against him. All the cheating
and all the scandal, They don't hold that against him.
We still look at Tiger and like, still admire him.
We still everyone still loves Tiger, aside from maybe some
women of course, but in general, we'll go.
Speaker 1 (47:16):
Through anybody's life, hey, everybody, well except their exits, like everybody, anybody.
Speaker 4 (47:21):
But even though his scandal was you know, news headlines,
people quickly moved on from it, like we don't hold
it on to Tiger. It's quite impressive how much he's
still loved. In my opinion, nobody thinks of the scandals
when it comes to Tiger Woods. We think of the injuries,
We think of the car accident. We think of, oh,
he's never going to go back out there and give
it another shot when everybody just wants him to go
(47:42):
back out there and be competitive one more time.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
But he can't do it. He hasn't done it.
Speaker 4 (47:46):
The last couple of outings, Charlie Woods is what the
PGA tour is waiting for.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Absolutely absolutely, And I literally was like, he shouldn't have
had Woods as his last name. But I was wrong.
Speaker 1 (47:56):
If I said, if do you know who Charlie Daniels is,
I said, Charlie Danel.
Speaker 3 (47:59):
No, who's got Scheffler's nephew.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
Charlie my nephew, Charlie Daniels, Yeah right right, yeah, say no,
No Devil went down to Georgia, Charlie Daniel never hear
that song. No Devil went down to Georgia looking for
a sold this deal in a bye way behind, looking
to make a deal.
Speaker 3 (48:15):
No, you keep going.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
But none of the biggest songs of the seventies.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
Okay, wow, okay, no.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
Is there listening seventies on seven? Or if Charlie Daniels
band Devil went down to Georgia was a huge different Charlie,
Charlie bit my Finger.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
Charlie bit my Finger.
Speaker 1 (48:36):
Charlie remember when Charlie bit My Finger and David after
Dentist were like vying for like they were the most
watched videos on YouTube avers how many views do you
think you got, oh, Charlie bit my Finger at this
seventeen years it's gotta be I'll say a hundred million
million views? More.
Speaker 6 (48:55):
I'm not smart.
Speaker 2 (48:57):
I'm not smart.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
It's got to be like pushing.
Speaker 5 (49:01):
It's got to be like eight hundred.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
Million, eight hundred million.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
It's got seventeen years.
Speaker 6 (49:07):
It's a little more than one hundred million, a little more.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
Okay, it might be a million, Okayjan Soto, he's getting
seven hundred and sixty five million dollars from the Mets.
I'll say seven to sixty five.
Speaker 5 (49:17):
Remember, guys, they were on Ellen. I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 1 (49:19):
I'll say seven hundred But this when Ellen was popular though, right, okay,
and still what they were on ellis but when people
liked Ellan and watch the show, right, This is not
after when everybody hated Ellen and she had to move right, Okay,
Althoy did see the video of her like mowing her
lawn in England the other day on the internet, Like
she's mowing her Yeah, well, I mean, if you're Ellen degenerous,
(49:40):
you can afford that. I'll say seven hundred and sixty
five million.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
I say it's more than that, eight hundred.
Speaker 6 (49:47):
And eighty seven million views.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
I said eight hundred million from the get go, I win, win, okay,
all right, went Taly for me?
Speaker 1 (49:56):
Okay, all right, all right, look up David after Dennis.
Tell me how many David after Dennis tests, because they
were both the same, like they were the biggest one
for a while. Yeah, yeah, because that that was just like.
Speaker 6 (50:05):
A trick to get me to get a virus or something.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
Yeah, exactly. No, David after Dentist. You just donated money
to Steve Cohen to pay for one Sodo sar.
Speaker 5 (50:16):
Video where he like he's like kind of like he
has off laughing gas.
Speaker 1 (50:21):
Right, Yeah, like he's he's after the dentist and he
is talking in the car and he's like still out
of it because you know he had to go through
his I think it was wisdom teeth. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
Mary Mack very good. I think I remember that, okay, yeah,
because it was huge.
Speaker 3 (50:35):
It was so funny. He was funny.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
You didn't get past that, Yeah you could have. So
sixteen years ago, how many views seven hundred and sixty
five million. That's one Sodo guests seven sixty five millions.
Speaker 3 (50:47):
I'm gonna say this one is not as much. I'm
gonna say it's about five hundred million.
Speaker 6 (50:51):
It's way less, oh way.
Speaker 5 (50:53):
Less, because I vaguely remember it.
Speaker 6 (50:55):
Yeah, you're underestimating Charlie bit my finger.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
I was apparently all right, two hundred million, she's got one.
Speaker 6 (51:06):
Oh okay, I really I.
Speaker 1 (51:08):
Can't believe Charlie bit my finger eight hundred It just
was so yeah, but that's amazing.
Speaker 3 (51:14):
Everyone tried to do it after, like try to do
the voice.
Speaker 6 (51:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:18):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I bit my finger.
Speaker 6 (51:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
God, that is true.
Speaker 6 (51:22):
That is true.
Speaker 5 (51:22):
That's like up there with like Damn Daniel. Yeah, I don'tkay,
Damn Daniel.
Speaker 1 (51:27):
What about the Chewbacca mask Lady? Is how many for her?
Speaker 5 (51:33):
Was really popular?
Speaker 1 (51:34):
Yeah? She was on like every single late night show.
She couldn't stop laughing, like that's all she did was
laugh and every time she was on TV. The Chewbacca Lady, Okay,
she's got to be less, she's gotta be way less. Yeah, yeah,
she's got to be probably about a one hundred and
fifty million maybe, yeah, yeah, I'd say, David, after that,
it's a second yeah, and then it's got to be
Chewbacca lady.
Speaker 3 (51:54):
All right, let's take a look at Ubacca Lady.
Speaker 1 (51:56):
Yeah, Chewbacca Lady, to roll your tongue in the back
of your mouth, okay, and then go a little.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Like a little come up the frog.
Speaker 1 (52:10):
Yeah, so this one's way less, all right, eighty million,
way less, really, fifty million, way lest well, no wonder,
Codin O'Brien went off the air. He's having views all
this low, only fifty million people watching this.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
Twenty million, thirteen million, thirteen million.
Speaker 6 (52:28):
Fourteen million, wow, eight years.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
Yeah, yeah, you gotta have somebody.
Speaker 4 (52:32):
Yeah, it's just crazy when something hits and when something doesn't,
Like that.
Speaker 2 (52:37):
Charlie was just gonna hit.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
He's gonna hit.
Speaker 2 (52:39):
Charlie Woods is gonna.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
Just say he's gonna save the PGA just.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
Wait for me, like that.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
He said, he's just gonna be known as Charlie Charlie
like share Moses the Pope, Well the pope is two words,
but Pope, the Charlie Pope, Charlie.
Speaker 1 (52:54):
But Charlie.
Speaker 5 (52:54):
Maybe he'll have a mink.
Speaker 1 (52:55):
I like how you went share seconds like share second share.
Can you name one share song?
Speaker 8 (53:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (53:02):
Do you believe?
Speaker 5 (53:04):
Okay, very good, Okay, name another one.
Speaker 3 (53:08):
I'm sure I do know share songs guys.
Speaker 5 (53:11):
But oh, you can't pay me. You can't pay me
a million, you can't even pay me one dollar. I
can't give you another one.
Speaker 1 (53:17):
Really, Mary Mac really, Okay, sorry, I got you.
Speaker 3 (53:21):
You do know that maybe we're just we know, but
we don't know it's her. You got them signing like
we know the song, but we are not associating it
with share.
Speaker 1 (53:28):
Stairway to Heaven with Share, you know that you can't
always get what you want.
Speaker 6 (53:33):
That was Share strong enough?
Speaker 1 (53:34):
Strong enough with Share? Sure? Any of these babe uptown
funk with Share? Who else was I got you got
your babe?
Speaker 8 (53:42):
Right?
Speaker 7 (53:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (53:43):
That was That was Sonny and Share?
Speaker 6 (53:44):
That was both of them? Yeah right?
Speaker 1 (53:46):
And then her big one was I turned back time too,
toow turned back tow. So while Charlie saving the PGA tour,
Monsey is going to save us right now by telling
us how many home runs the Mets hit tonight, lots
as the win over the Cubs and what's trending.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Yeah, let me tell you actually, how many four was
it for?
Speaker 4 (54:05):
First Francisco Lindor, Brett Bady, Jeff McNeil, and then Juan Soto,
So the Mets four homers as they topped the Cubs
seven to two. I'm not a happy camper though right now, guys,
because the Dodgers were up against the Diamondbacks and then
they tied the game. Lure this Guriel junior with a
grand slam off of Anthony Banda, So Dodgers and Diamondbacks
(54:25):
tied at eight apiece.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
Bottom of the sixth inning. The Blue Jays are up
on the Mariners five to three. Top of the seventh inning.
Speaker 4 (54:31):
The Oreoles, who we've talked about lost, have lost five
in a row. They do have a three to one
lead over the Angels. Top of the eighth inning. Padre
is still crushing the Rockies. We look at the Rockies
with seven runs on the scoreboard, but San Diego is
up thirteen to seven. Bottom of the ninth inning in
Colorado and the last one here it's the Yankees and
the A's. They've added another run, so New York up
for zero. Bottom of the sixth inning. In the NBA,
(54:53):
it's halftime between the Thunder and the Nuggets. In Denver,
Okac is up fifty six to fifty one. This is
game three a series that is tied at one apiece.
The leading scorer for the Thunder Chet Holmgren. He's got
sixteen points. Shake Gilgess Alexander two of eight from the
field for five points, but he does have nine rebounds
When it comes to Denver, it's Michael Porter Junior who's
the leading scorer.
Speaker 3 (55:13):
He's got fifteen points.
Speaker 4 (55:15):
Earlier today, the Cavaliers outscored the Pacers won twenty six
to one oh four. In Game three, Indiana still leads
a series two to one, but Donovan Mitchell put on
a show forty three points and nine rebounds. Cleveland out
rebounded Indiana in this game fifty six to thirty seven.
We've also got the NHL playoffs and the Stars are
losing to the Jets three zero after two periods. Dallas
(55:36):
does lead the series one zero, and Brad Marshan was
the one that hit the game winner for the Panthers
Earlier today against the maple Leaves, five to four was
the final score in overtime.
Speaker 3 (55:45):
Toronto leads that series to one. Back to us.
Speaker 1 (55:50):
Thanks a bunch, Montee. Let's get you set for some
NBA action tomorrow by talking about draft Kings. Pick six
new customers, play five bucks, and get fifty bucks in
both picks instantly. Monsey and I are gonna give you
our big picks for tomorrow's action in the NBA. I'm
gonna go with the Knicks and the sell of course,
I'm going Nick Selton.
Speaker 5 (56:08):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (56:08):
Hey you got Jalen Brunchin's over unders twenty six and
a half. Take he's gonna score like sixty. No, I'm
actually gonna go for tomorrow. My pick Jason Tatum's over
under has been inflated because obviously Tatum's a guy. He's
talked about stepping up his over under in points tomorrow
twenty seven and a half.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
Okay, so what are you going?
Speaker 1 (56:27):
I would be surprised if he wasn't halfway to that
at the end of the first quarter. I'll go way
Tatum knows he's gotta come up big. Yeah, I'll go
and he can get his shot whenever he wants. Look, Tatum,
is that good? He's had two days to sit here
and STU about this your fault. We're down to zip.
I go way over for Jason Tatum, but he only
has to go over twenty seven and a half. But
(56:47):
give me over for Tatum with twenty seven and a
half points on DraftKings pick six, Monzie, what do you got?
Speaker 4 (56:52):
Well, I'm also gonna do a little Celtics Knicks because again,
that's the exciting matchup tomorrow. Karl Anthony Towns. Originally the
points was nineteen and a half. He's only had one
game recently that was over twenty points. He had twenty one,
but the others have been under it. Well, now they've
brought the line down to sixteen and a half. So
I'm taking the oh all, it was nineteen and a half.
Speaker 3 (57:15):
I was gonna tell you under Now I'm taking the
over at sixteen and a half. They know what they're doing.
Speaker 4 (57:19):
He's gonna he's not gonna go crazy, but he's gonna
drop seventeen eighteen points.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
Go New York, Go New York, Go, go New York,
Go New yourk go. All right, So there it is
Draft Kings Pick six again. New customers play five bucks,
get fifty bucks and bonus picks instantly. That's DraftKings Pick six.
DraftKings Pick six
