What did Pete Alonzo just do really boring in game
interview at first basically all their game and now a
big three run dinger to give the National League a five,
five nothing lead. Petee Alonzo three four five sweet meat. Pete, Well,

but he doesn't have to be exciting in the field.
He sounded out of breath taking those three steps. Either way,
while they were interviewing him. Uh, but it's kind of
like the uh the old laugh was sing a song,
win a Grammy, right, if you performed, you were you
were walking away with a ward back in the day,
except Metallica when Jethro Tull beat him for hard rock

heavy metal. But for Pete Alonso, here's your opportunity, you know,
say a couple of pithy things about your squad, move on,
and then come up and conserve that energy for an
opposite field home run. I mean, look, I mean right now,
you gotta think All Star Game, MVP three run, Homer, Peter.
They were already up to nothing. It doesn't mart Marte

with the story from a couple of weeks ago with
the White Sox fans and everything he wins. It's not
Pete Alons what you st this at this end of
the game. To nothing. It's still a game five nothing,
It's not a game. And one of the few times
you are seeing a pitch change in the middle of
an inning. Not the ceremony game because we saw it earlier,
but it was a ceremony ceremonial for Clayton Kershaw. I
know this is hey, we we we We're gonnake a

I met could win the All Star Game MVP. Pete
Alonzo again. Does it matter if he's a boring interview,
doesn't matter if he's miked up and he just tells
you kind of generic things. Well, he hits Dingers, it's
all you care about. My name's Pete. I hit Dingers, Okay,
but I'm not the problem though, what's the problem Frostberg?

They were already up. It doesn't matter, That's what I said.
But it was still a game. I'm pigging's take at
two nothing, it's a game at five nothing. Pete Alonzo
clinched the game. That's it. He's They already had two
insurance runs. It was Look, we saw the meme going
around Paul Stein's had more runs of port after one
inning of an All Star Game that he's had his

last three starts combined. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, think about
that for a second. Yeah yeah, and that was off boobit. Yeah.
But poor guy. During the course of the year seven
and six, he's like schemes seven and six. He's got
a two four eight e r A. But he's seven
and six. They just had to take him out the middle.
They ain't got hammered opposite field home run, got your guy.
Alonso got to take out man. I'm sorry about that.

I'm so he gets just what what did he get
for a bonus for making the All starting with every day,
even even a homes stop, even a home run in
the All Star Game, every passing day, that contract just
gets bigger. Oh yeah, bigger, bigger. They kind of alluded
to it. They were trying to get him to drink

some water on that thing. During his interview in the field,
He's just, you know, I just want to win going
out there every day. Yeah, like he went full on
nukluch cliches. Oh yeah, yeah, I know. You know Ray
and she's a stay on you know they Momley Crue
song and it's okay. But Pete Alonso a three run

jack for the National League. They lead the American League
five nothing now here. We are right now bottom of
the sixth and again pitching change. Brett Saberhagen coming out
of the game for the Royals. But I gotta say
overarching because there's so many things to talk about in
this game, which is which is fantastic. But I really
come around to this, right, here's a big overarching point.

If you're watching this game and you don't and you're
not really enjoying what you're getting from the broadcast and
what they've seen so far, maybe baseball's not your thing, right.
I mean, if you're if you're not enjoying all the
different things that we've seen, eye opening, groundbreaking, maybe baseball's
not your thing, right, Because Okay, I don't like the

I don't like the opening today. I don't. I don't
like the whole what Lunacro is doing. Welcome to Atlanta,
what do you know? I like to want to just
introduce the players, just I don't like it. I don't.
I don't like when the players are miked up. You
don't like Clayton Kershaw's my in game miked up. It's
the highlight of the baseball seasons so far. We'll play
it as soon as the game ends. It's two and
a half minutes of glory. I mean, the you know,
the uniforms are back to where they should be wearing

your uniform, your team's uniform. If you don't like what
you're getting from Baseball just might not be your thing,
and like, okay, so maybe just just go do something
else good because because tonight this is what you watch
All Star games for. You can only ask so much
of an All Star game. You can't ask for it
to be competitive. You can't ask for it to be Hey,
they should be doing the things they are doing. This

is an entertaining broadcast, entertaining for any baseball fan. If
you don't like I said, if you don't like it,
maybe baseball's not your I still wish it counted because
that's always been a fun thing. But alas that went
the way of the Dodo bird, which might return. You
never know, but the Dodo bird's coming back. That'll come
back to But you've got stars, and I guess guys

opted out and for whatever reason, they're spot in the rotation.
Uh and it was a non work day or whatever.
They just wanted a couple of days off. That's all fine.
The rest of the guys showed up and they showed out,
and the interviews have been fun. We talk about the
Kershaw wand the Pete Crow Armstrong interview was pretty fun
because he had to make a play during that A

little bit of a potential collision situation with teammate Kyle
Tucker out there. All of that to say, you've got
your big flies, you've got the pageantry of the pomp
and circumstance ludicrous. If you don't like that, then you
don't have a pulse. I mean, come on, yeah. Look,
he also had the first ABS challenge, where the players
can challenge a pitch right away immediately looking at each other. Again,

if you don't, as we watch Corbyn Carroll now go
deep boy, not a great night for Tiger's pitchers. Oh boy,
good looking Jacob and Jack Wilson moment. I mean the
father son having both played in an All Star game.
It's just great stuff. The Atlanta stuff, Freddie Freeman get
getting taken off for Pete Alonso so the Atlanta crowd

could give him some more love as he exited the field.
I mean, it's good stuff. Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
I got to Eric because obviously were the show, but
I wondered, did the did the Atlanta crowd did they
cheer Pete Alonzo when he hit his home run or
what did they did? Because they boot all the Mets
during the pregame, which is great, right, Okay, I get that, Hey,
they're playing for your team, you're rooting for the National League.
But I get But what am I understand? But what

did he get booed? There? Because this is gonna win
a yes? Oh did he get booted? Really? Did he
get after he hit a home run? Really well? And
well they might have done that too. And we just
saw a great graphic after that Carroll home run. First
time two National League home runs in an inning since
nineteen seventy seven. Yeah, look, the National League if you
want to look back the last few years, it's not great.

And then the American League is ten and one. They've
won basically every All Star Game since you and I
were kids, when the National League would win every game,
that's right, and now here it is it's six nothing
National League like this. I mean, Pete Alonzo MVP posing
in the dugout. It's gonna be Bartee, It's gonna it's
bart He clinched the game with a three, Yeah, ich

a game win three. But who's got the game winning RBI?
It doesn't matter, it's Marte. What are you nineteen eighty
four with? You're only saying this because it's a met
that got the home run. If I said, oh, there's
a big three at Homer by Shoe Heo Tawani, Are
you gonna say no, it's Marte. Of course you would
say you're only doing it because it's a met I
see them. I'm doing it. I'm doing it for You're
not that might be Frost game, it's not mine. I three,

I'm just a realist. ICEE three by the way, to
finish the point two home runs in an inning NL
Last Time nineteen seventy seven by Joe Morgan and Greg Luzinski. Yeah, yeah,
that's a that's a long way to go. That's you're
going back. I mean, that's that's almost fifty years. You're
going back to the last time that happened. Unbelievable. Real
Marte is your MVP. It's but it's great. We're Skeenes.

This is not I noticed how nobody cared that Skeen
started the game with a four and eight record. Can
Miserowski can't No, I can't be in the game. But wow,
Skeens is four and eight. Yeah, that's okay. But he's
got an eer a lower I use your best analogy there.
I mean, he's he's been dominant, uh time and time again,
and we always talk about wins and losses and how

important they may or may not be. Well, look so far.
Look the biggest things for the All Star Game, right,
the number one the fact that now they're back at
the player's uniforms. Not everything that is nostalgia and was
a long time ago is great just because it was
a long time but it was a long time ago,
so we have to go back to it exist great.

Not everything from a long time ago is great, and
not everything from now flies in the face of tradition
and we can't stand it. Oh, just quote Billy Joel
and be done with it. It's it's a good old
days weren't always good, right, as bad as it's. Some
ideas from the past are great that baseball should le another,
sports should lean on, and some aren't. Right idea from
the past, Yes, baseball players wearing their their team uniform

and you have a hat. However you want to make
it with the with the you know, with the All
Star logo on it. Yeah, awesome, Right, I get that. Oh,
we're not selling as much merch because players are wearing
their uniforms. But I don't think you're you're selling a
lot of merch anyway, Well, that would be the I
want to see now, though, not gonna buy those crazy
ass uniforms, And like, boy, I don't like these colors.
They're just inventing color schemes and throwing stuff up at
it like it's a Pollock painting. But that uniform, Yeah,

I got a great video. I'll show you him like
a very quick you know, babe Ruth kind of running
around the basis thing of him smoking with some cool
jazz playing in the background. But I really want to
see the numbers of how many jerseys they sold. Now, Yeah,
that's really kind of curious. But that's it. It's a
clean look. The fans love it. It's some great nostalgia
is awesome, and honestly, for most fans, they know who

the players are, right because if you if you, if
you're even if you're a really big baseball fan, and
you see guys on deck, you see guys in the field,
You're going, who is that? I can't tell because that's
just the way the camera angle is. But you see
the guys, you go, oh, okay, that's Hovey Bias, Oh
that's pie Crow Armstrong. That's just like it's it's it's
a better it's a better broadcast. It's a better thing.
It's a better thing. And when fans like it, okay,

great again, not everything because it's the past is great.
Like I saw so many people on social media just
hating on the on the pre show, which again, new idea,
great idea. It's a party. I mean, Ludacris doing Welcome
to Atlanta. What else do you want? Oh? I don't
I like it? While you want just when the players
came out and just tip their cap, you still get that,
but now you get their big WWE introductions. Dave Roberts

ran faster than he did anytime I've seen him since
he scored from third base on that sacrifice fly and
the two thousand and three alcs. Right, like, it's it's
a fun thing. Okay, here's a new idea. It's fun
for baseball to have that. I don't like it as
a Oh so really you just don't want fun, you know,
I mean really not every idea from the past is great,
but this one was for the uniform. Not every idea

from the present is great. But putting on a show awesome, right,
players get to be you get into it. It's exciting.
It's not like it was thirty forty years ago, where oh,
and I get to see the guys running, stand on
the line and tip their cap. Okay, they're gonna still
gonna do that. You're still gonna get that moment, right,
So this is a way to say, hey, guess what.
I'm watching the pregame show and I'm watching Ludacris do

his song and that's pretty cool. And I'm seeing all
the all the fireworks go off and then come out
of the tunnel like they're all Ray Lewis on an
NFL Sunday. It's kind of fun. It's a fun thing.
I mean, if you don't get what you like out
of this game, out of this broadcast, I mean, really,
baseball's not your thing. You got the running the gamut
of players right. Part of the Pete Alonso interview was

the fact that it's his fifth All Star Games. So
he's saying, hey, there's guys far more veteran than me,
and he started naming off, you know, Kershaw and even
Manny Machado. He goes, wow, he's not much older than me,
but he's got more All Star Games. And Freddie Freeman,
who he replaced I mean nine times, I think for
Freddie Freeman. So you're looking at the history and kind

of passing. I thought it was funny. The two guys
that you mentioned at as examples of guys you would
know are the guys that the Mets brought in and
watched leave in Pete Crow Armstrong and Hove Bias. So
that was kind of funny. That was not lost on me.
But they just did a tribute to Hank Aaron. You

(13:00):
had the stand up to cancer moment, our old our
friend Scott Miller who passed away, a lot of guys
showing love for him. He's one of the finalists for
the Hall of Fame as well. So like all of
these things, all of these moments, and Baseball always does
it right and you may not like it. It may
not be your cup of tea, New things, or as

we see time and time again, people curse him and
then they realize how vital they are to their everyday existence. Right,
So for Major League Baseball, they do history well. They
return to the uniform piece. It's a nice nod, right,
and folks get to see their home colors represented. That's
what you're trying to do. You're you're trying to bring

everybody in and some are gonna be salty, and let's
face it, that's what social media is all about. It's
gonna be It's like when you contact customer service. How
often do you contact them just to tell them how
great that delivery of your Amazon product or whatever else was. No,
you can play because the guy was two hours late,
or they forgot your toothpaste or it was the wrong

color or whatever. You're gonna contact them ninety nine percent
of the time because you're you're pissed off. And that's
social media in a nutshell. You're you're posting because you're mad,
not because wow, that's really cool. Now I want to
throw this by you two as again. The All Star
Game is six nothing nationally leads American League. Top of
the seventh inning. On one of our other televisions, we

just watched the end of the Fever game against the
Connecticut Son Not a great game for Caitlin Clark, though
the Fever do win. However, late in this game, after
a pass, she left the court, did not look like
she was moving well, had her hand near her groin
almost like she was and watching her limp a little

(14:46):
bit off the court. Now, she came out of the
game with about a minute left to go and was
not moving well. Again, we don't know anything yet, but
you can just see and they showed the replay she
puts her hands there like oh boy, and she bangs
the stanchion. Showed her on the bench with the look
in her eyes was pretty telling. Caitlin Clark left the game.
But we'll get an update on this, but you know,
she left the game with what could be an injury again,

not moving well. Comes out of a close game in
the final minute, was still close within I think six
points when she came out of the game. So we'll
keep you updated on that story as it goes tonight.
This would be her third injury of the season. But
we have more on the All Star Game coming up next,
as well as Shock upon shocks. The NFL team that
appears to be doing things right. They never do things right,

and yet it feels like they're doing things right. He

has with some of the worst quarterbacks. Out, there again

dollar extension highest paid cornerback IN, the nfl a record
