under what you call a blown coverage, Hollywood Brown is
hit with a fifty yard pass by Patrick Mahomes. The
Chargers defense stiffens forces a field goal, So now the
(01:12):
Chargers getting the football back with about two thirty four
left to go, trying to protect a twenty seven twenty
one lead. And there's you know, some stats we talked
about a few minutes ago and Justin Herbert three hundred
yards and three touchdowns. You know we talked to Mahomes
fantasy points. But here's something for tonight, right. Xavier Worthy
(01:32):
left the game very early after colliding with Travis Kelce
going over the middle. The leading receiver for the Chiefs
tonight is, in fact, Hollywood Brown, who has a whopping
sixteen targets from Patrick Mahomes sixteen to Juju Smith. Schuster
(01:54):
is next with five. Hollywood Brown has said he is
looking for Hollywood Brown like Mike Lyons quarterback. We're throwing
the Calvin Johnson right like that. This is where like
Sam Darnold looked for Justin like well, anybody looks at
Justin Jefferson, but specifically Sam Darnald. Hey, I'm in trouble.
Where's Justin this side of the field. I'm just gonna
throw it up there. Sixteen targets, ten catches for Hollywood
(02:15):
Brown's having a big night, but ten for ninety nine.
I mean that catch. The other nine catches just for
fifty yards's till ten for ninety nine on sixteen targets
from Mahomes tonight. Welcome to the Chiefs, Hollywood. Brown.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Well, that's all it takes, right is feed the guy
that can make plays for you one little step and
away he goes, and we'll see that. I really would
have been curious to see him and Worthy paired up
over a long haul. Based on some of the video
coming back off the sidelines, you see the trader looking
at whoever he's talking to you off going. It's not
(02:49):
good for Worthy, so this could be a longer, longer
term injury. But for Brown, the number of targets short intermediate.
I want to see the shot chart like he's an
a player, you know, average depth and all of that
kind of fun.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
But on that.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Possession, they had an opportunity after that big connection, Travis
Kelcey did a little rope of dope going over the
middle cross in the defense and then really didn't run,
so the ball hits off his hand when he probably
could have walked into the end zone. So some big moments,
some big plays, and some chaos ensuing.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
On Night two.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
But is it a glorious because we still have two
hundred and seventy after tonight, I'll tell you, And there's
a play I just want to talk with her for
a second before you get some of the other games.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Here two thirty four left. Great play call by the Chargers.
You're thinking, okay, they're gonna try to run the football.
Chiefs use their timeouts play action for Justin Herbert and
he's being rushed and he is backing up while he
is throwing the football, and not only does he hit
Will Disley, he hits Will Disley in stride, like this
is one of those quick handoff turn and I'm throwing
(03:55):
the football and you know, the defensive lineman comes in
on him. He is he is going backwards and he
throws and he hits Disley in stride. Disley gets an
extra ten yards, so that first down play gets about sixteen.
So now the Chiefs now have to use their first
time out and the Chargers starting first, you know, first
and ten again from their own thirty from their thirty
(04:17):
six yard line. I'm going to tell you, for all
the questions we had about Justin Herbert, I think he's
answering all of them tonight in this game. I mean,
it was a simple play right there, But still you
are gy how many quarterbacks in the NFL would have
real trouble completing that pass. And he's going backwards and
he throws and he not just hits him, but he
hits him in stride. And you know Disley's able to
get sixteen yards in the first down.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah, I mean we know he's taken over that mantle, right,
Matthew Stafford, the old quarterback who is your quarterback's favorite guy.
And now Justin Herbert talking about that, and there's a
lot of metrics that just say, all right, I want
to see it when it counts, right kind of thing.
And tonight on this national stage, different script, different gameplay,
(05:00):
and that I think any of us really would have
anticipated in this case. I mean, Omaron Apton's up to
fifteen carries, twenty one carries overall seventy five yards for
the Chargers on the ground. But the fact that they've
had such great time and really being able to pull
the strings owtever they want. Greg Roman and that offensive
(05:20):
line get all all of the credit in the world.
Justin Herbert making every throw and living up to the
hype for this one and making things very interesting because
now all of a sudden. You know, anybody that was
bullish on the Chargers, you're feeling really chesty in the moments,
like you and for Justin Herbert Backers long these these
(05:41):
years that have heard thee he's not that guy, he's
not that guy. Well, you can at least point print
out this box score and a couple of the throws.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
So a lot more of this game coming up will
be at the two minute warning in a couple of minutes,
and well we'll update you again, out and again. Chargers
lead the Chiefs twenty seven to twenty one, about two
fourteen left to go in this one in Brazil. Meanwhile, now, hey,
big night. Obviously, we're taking a look at all the
big games coming up this weekend in the NFL college football.
We got big stuff to get to and big games
(06:11):
coming up, and certainly games are bigger deals on Sunday
than we thought they were going to be. In some games,
they say, oh, I can't believe it's such a big game.
But really, of all the updates we're getting, all the
injury updates for Sunday, the game that's been kind of
clean so far when it when it's come from as
far as injuries and players we're getting. The game of
the week is pretty clean, and that is the Bills
(06:35):
and the Ravens. What could be an AFC championship game.
It's look, it's the reason why it is where it is.
Bill's Ravens is an incredible matchup. And I'm gonna say this,
and I'm gonna sound insane, Mike, when it comes to
this game, right, I believe in the Ravens to a point,
(06:56):
and my point is until the playoffs, right like this game,
I know that, Look, the Bills are playing at home,
and you would think, well, here come the Bills. It's
a big Super Bowl or bus type year for them
because clearly not that they are great, not something they're
they're the best version of themselves. But they've been around
a long time. Eventually, you know, this group has to
kind of get it done, and they should have an
easy path in the division to get there. But I
(07:19):
think they get punched in the mouth on Sunday night.
I think the Ravens come out with big plays and
they gash Buffalo's defense. Look, their defensive backs are questionable already,
Lamar Jackson. The rest of the offense is going to
force Buffalo to play catch up. And I don't know
that Buffalo has that high octane enough offense to do it.
But the Ravens clearly you've heard all I mean. If
I have to have another another statement of it, this
(07:40):
is the best roster in the NFL. I'll let you
know the Ravens have the best roster. Yeah, okay, that's great,
But I'm telling you this is this is a team
that you know, to a point, regular season big games,
nights like this, the Ravens come up big, right if
they come up small in the playoffs, and usually it's
Lamar Jackson turning the ball over and things just happened
to the Ravens and the playoffs. But regular season big games, yeah,
(08:02):
sign me up for Lamar Jackson. Sign me up for
him in this one. And I think it's gonna be
a big guy. I think he throws for three hundred
yards in this game. And it's gonna be a lot
of big, big chunk plays for Baltimore as he finds
a lot of weapons. And it's not just gonna be
Zay Flowers, not just gonna be and it's gonna be
all over the map with receivers. He's gonna of course
run and make his own big plays. This is gonna
(08:24):
be a Lamar Jackson. Wow, he's still great. The Ravens
has no reason why to not make them a super
Bowl contender, and on Monday the Big conversation as well.
Ravens are clear of the best team in the NFL.
Look at the win they had Week one over Buffalo.
I will take the Ravens now. If you ask me
if this game was coming in the playoffs, I would say,
give me the Bills. Give me the Bills, because stuff
happens to the Ravens, man, it just does.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
But Week one regular season, give me Baltimore. You start
saying stuff just happens. I got a picture of Mark Andrews.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
In my head.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
I gotta be careful because I say that kind of
stuff when I make my appearances in Baltimore, and I
fear eventually someone's gonna actually followed through in key my car,
like you keep being been threatened for a second. You
know what's curious, and this is you know, my usual
annual scheduling, Gripe.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
This isn't college football Week one.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
You'll watch anything right you could put and it's one
of my favorite games on the slate. Give me the
Jaguars and the Panthers. We're still gonna get huge numbers.
I don't need some big to do on Sunday Night football,
but I'll take it because you know, these are two
of my favorite guys to watch. Get after it. We've
got a huge over undertotal for this one. It was
(09:32):
at fifty and a half the last I saw, Ravens
favored by a point. The individual lines for passing yards
and rushing yards pretty much equal for the two. No Recard,
no Isaiah likely for the Ravens offense. On the grand scale,
that doesn't matter. I think they do get the job done.
(09:53):
They're able to run Derrick Henry enough, balanced definition and
making plays to get this early season win. But you know,
it's kind of like with both of these squads. It's
like the Dodgers until its October. I don't care with
the Dodgers, right, we watch it.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
Day to day.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Oh my god, this guy's fine. Hey, they're gonna play
in the playoffs, right, same thing here.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Uh look, I'm gonna disagree with you on the Dereck
Henry part of it because at some point he's gonna
hit the wall a little bit. And I and it's
gonna be a comedy. Look, the bills are gonna say, listen,
we gotta stop king Henry. That's gonna be it, obviously, Lamar,
but we have to pick our poison and see what
we can do. I at some point, Henry's gonna hit
the wall a bit. He's over thirty, big running back.
(10:36):
Not that suddenly, Hey, here's the cliff and it's here.
For Derek.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
I was gonna say, it's game one. He's had a
lot of time here.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
You're gonna see they're gonna want to get out there
and they're gonna want to show that our offense is
gonna be explosive. It's and it's a little more it's
a little more certain games. I can say, yeah, this
will be a Derick Henry game. This is a Lamar
Jackson game.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
I mean, well, you know, you know what the other
Lamar Jackson, the other other element here right, this is
your daily fantasy or you want to go deep sleeper.
Is that you're gonna see Keaton Mitchell he was a
guy that was going to start taking on a little
bit of that secondary load when Derrick Henry needed a
blow last year and then he got hurt and missed
the year. So he's a guy with the explosiveness as
a runner and receiver that could pay some big dividends
(11:20):
in this game as well, and get those those big
defensive linemen huffin to where eventually, Derek.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, they're huffin whoa, whoa, whoa.
That's oh oh, you mean breathing hard on the field. Okay, sorry, okay,
all right, very well, make sure okay.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I mean, it's too early for those kind of references
on a Friday night, but I mean, if you're out there,
just be safe. Okay, people be safe over under for
this game, Henry is eighty two and a half rushing yards.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
I will take, I will I will take. I will
safely take the under on Derrick Henry this one. I'll
safely take the look at that.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
I really thought you said we're going to say the
game of the week was Monday night.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
But you know, well, we'll get to that. We have played, dude.
That's there's four days from now, at one two, that's
three and a half days from now. We got time
for that. We got a whole show for that on
Monday night. The whole show Monday is gonna be Caleb
Caleb Galub galub gaylub.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Yeah, but it's gonna be living and dying with every
play because my phone's gonna be going. Oh and if
it goes badly, you're gonna be like, hey man, I
was you I You'll actually have to say you were wrong.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
So there.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
No, No, he's gonna be great. I'm telling you, he's
gonna be great unless well, well, you know would be
great is if Williams plays well, but like he gets
an important phone call or something and Tyson Beagen has
to come in and he's even better. Like that's what
I really want to see. So like some kind of
or an equipment malfunction and Beijing comes in and plays great.
Oh now we got it, look at that. But wait
(12:40):
a minute. But but Williams was good. No, no, no,
not Williams stinks and had to be benched. No, Williams
plays great in the first half, but then you know,
his cleat breaks or something happens and they gotta go
to Beijing and Beijing takes him all the way down
the field he stays in at quarterback. Oh that's why
I want to see all kinds of case.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Well, you know, you've had a couple of hot takers
in Chicago that have gone to on air with that
going well, I'd pick him to go ten and seven.
If bage it was the quarterback, ha ha. That is
a desperate attempt for clicks. So there is our first
big pick again. We got all the rest of the
night tonight, Phill with the rest of our picks.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Of the big games we have Detroit and Green Bay,
Houston and the Rams, Pittsburgh and the Jets. Is becoming
a big game, but it is now a final in Brazil.
And of all the scrambling we've talked about tonight, with
Patrick Mahomes absolutely keeping the Chiefs in the game by
himself scrambling for ten yards a pop when he runs
(13:34):
the football, including a touchdown. It is Justin Herbert getting
the last scramble left, getting the last left scrambling a
third and fourteen player with just over two minutes left
to go in the game, Justin Herbert runs for it
nineteen yards and the first down he slides in bounds
(13:56):
and that's the end. The Chargers kneel on the football
from the two minute warning on and they win this
game twenty seven to twenty one, and absolute virtuoso performance
from Herbert who throws for three hundred yards and clinches
the game with that run. With that nineteen yard run,
he becomes a second best rusher on the Chargers for
(14:16):
the night. Abarian Hanton had forty eight yards and Justin
Herbert had thirty two yards. So congratulations, A big, big
game for the Chargers. They send the Chiefs to zero
to one, twenty seven to twenty one.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
What an effort from the offense there. The offensive line.
I mean, we had Mackai Beckton who had posted on
Instagram though that he was hooked up to an IV
machine quote don't eat the rice and beans in Brazil,
bro with the little barfee faces. So rallied, got hydrated,
got himself together. That offensive line doing a great job,
and then Herbert with the massive scrambled third and fourteen.
(14:50):
I think if you were a Charger fan, you were
clenching a little bit, going, oh no, here we go.
And instead the escape route from Herbert and grambles and
he's slid and that's about his biggest smile. And for
a guy who doesn't like doing postgame interviews, he better
get used to it after this one, because everybody's gonna
want to quote a huge.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Performance from justin Herbert Chargers beat the Chiefs twenty seven
to twenty one. Coming up next, Herbert Mahomes the Chargers
the Chiefs. What to make of this huge one in Brazil?

The Jason Smith Show with My Best friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Jason doesn't like it A five second Dad's party.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yeah, that's okay. The Mets one tonight, It's okay. You
can play sexy back. It's all right, it's alright. No,
Tomorrow tomorrow is King Tong day. Man, Nah, not happening tomorrow.
You get toll sprout tomorrow, man. Yeah, buddy, we got
King Tong tomorrow. That's a cheer. Oh so excited I am.
(17:40):
I am. I can't believe how much I had to
sweat my ass off with that Diaz. And as soon
as they brought I'm like, he's gonna load the bases.
What does he do? He loads a basis? I mean,
I mean it's it's like it's like I almost say
listen instead of because this is what Edwin Diaz does tonight. Right,
he comes in and this is now, this is our
his thing. He can't just have a Gordon. I'm gonna
(18:00):
throw my fastball and ninety eight ninety nine and I'm
gonna sol off bats and I'm gonna strike guys out
on three pitches. No, no, no, I need to make
it more interesting because it's only interesting for me if
there's runners on base. So I'll walk the first guy,
I'll hit another guy, and oh, bases loaded, nobody out.
Yeah that's okay that I'm down. I'm down for that, right,
(18:21):
I'm up for this. Right, I'll say all right, because
at this point I got to kind of make a
deal and get the best outcome I could be. If
this is what it's gonna be, I would say, all right, das,
I wanna if this is the way it's gonna be,
I want to get rid of that five to eight
minutes of absolute anxiety of you getting the bases loaded
before the inning really begins. Okay, so let's just do this.
(18:42):
You come into the game and intentionally walk the first
three guys, just point them all down. They all come
down for it now. Okay. So now at least that's
eight minutes of anxiety I don't have to deal with.
And I'm okay. So we're starting the game and if
something bad happens, okay, it happens, and it's only a
minute and a half. This is like the eight minutes
of anxiety. And then the absolute roller coaster. It's like
(19:03):
it's like getting on a roller coaster saying okay, my
worst part for me on a roller coaster. Is the
going up like when you get on and they go
up really slow, your tic tic tic tic tic tic.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Yeah, but you get to see the whole mark out
and yeah, celebrate that a little bit.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
I don't like. Yeah, I don't like that now. I
don't like the tick tic tic ticels. That's what it is.
Watching ds come in. Then you get to the top
and that's bases loaded, nobody out, and then the ride starts.
I'm like, if you could just start me at the
top of the ride, great, start me there, not the
going up. No, don't like it.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Don't like the going up. Yeah, but when you get
to the bottom, you go back to the top.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
I was gonna start singing Helter skelter. I don't like it,
But I mean, are you get tong and sprout and
we're gonna watch it all eventually implode.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
But for now, sure, sure.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
You get to kick it down the road and you
have that that rotational excellence once again, just just several
years removed.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
Uh so again, we got more baseball coming up. Steve
just saying we'll have the night in what's trending coming
up in a few minutes. But we just watch an
absolute thriller from Brazil. Chargers beat the Chiefs twenty seven
to twenty one, Justin Herbert with a big third down
scramble to clinch the game for the Chargers with two
minutes left to go. It was an incredible night. Now,
a lot to say about Mahomes and Herbert, and let's
(20:17):
talk about Mahomes first. This is where I'm at with
Patrick Mahomes for this season. And I said it going in,
and I feel absolutely good about it because it's exactly
how I thought this game was gonna go. What did
I say last night? And we picked it. It's gonna
be a big night for Mahomes and a win for
the Chargers, right, and that's gonna be kind of the
theme of the season. I am stock way up on
Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Right.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
This is gonna be the Patrick Mahomes middle Finger revenge Tour.
Now he's got the weapons back and they're healthy in
the offensive line. He's got everything he needs, and he's
gonna want to get people back to knowing this is
the Homes I was three years ago before he became
a game manager, because that's really what he's been the
last couple of years and He had a big night tonight,
right two fifty eight in a touchdown fifty seven yards
(20:58):
and a touchdown running tonight. His scrambling was the big difference,
right and his his his ability. And this is the
most maddening thing about Mahomes. Right, if I'm watching my
team play Mahomes, I don't get mad when Mahomes shreds
my team and goes for three twenty five or hits
somebody or hits Kelsey for a big touchdown. The worst
(21:19):
plays and the most frustrating ones are when he knows
I'm pulling the football down because this is going to
be a big gainer, not where I need a yard
or I need two yards. In Mahomes five, when he
pulls that football down, I have that initial reaction of
this is fifteen yards, like he knows that when it's his,
when it's time from to pull the footback, when he
pulls it football down and go, he knows this is
(21:41):
where I'm getting tons of yards. And how and how
many of those rushes that he had six rushes, all
of them felt like they were backbreaking rushes because the
Chargers defense, which we'll get to, was doing an unbelievable
job tonight on the Chiefs offense. This was the only
play that they basically had for three and a half
quarters was when Mahomes has the play breakdown, I'm scrambling
for a backbreaking first down that kept the Chiefs in
(22:03):
the game. That's the most frustrating part of Mahomes because
his ability to know when that's gonna happen and to
make that decision is just it's so frustrated. Like I
still go back a year ago when the Jets played
the Chiefs and they almost upset them in the third
game of the season, and I just remember we lost
because Mahomes kept scrambling Forday when they have him covered
and it was fine, Oh my goodness, look what's gonna
(22:25):
happen here? Nope, can't get we can't keep track of him,
and he scrambles for a first down it's fifteen yards.
That is the most frustrating part of watching Mahomes. And
that's the genius of Patrick Mahomes, who knows when he
can make those kinds of plays with his legs and
run for first downs. Chiefs leading rusher tonight, I am
stock way up on Patrick Mahomes this year, but I'm
stocked down on the Chiefs because I don't see them
(22:47):
being able to win. This roster is a little bit older.
The other teams in the division have all gotten better
and younger. There's younger, hungrier teams in the AFC, and
it's going to be a fight for them just to
be playoff eligible. They're gonna have to win a lot
of shootouts because they don't quite have the personnel that
the other teams like the Chargers and the Broncos and
the Bills and the Bengals and the Ravens don't have
(23:10):
the personnel like they do. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
I mean, one of the big questions coming into this
game this season for the Chiefs, who's on the defensive
side of things, of whether they'd be able to get
any kind of natural pressure where it was speG Nola
gonna have to get really creative in terms of bringing
extra bodies. In this case, nothing worked because the Chargers
offensive line the scheme from Roman, and of course we
(23:32):
can't say enough about what Justin Herbert was able to do.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
I'll give you credit.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
You pick the game right, and in the end, it
was the running game that proved the difference, just not
the way you anticipated because I don't think you were
predicting a nineteen yard scramble on a third and fourteen
for Justin Herbert to fish.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Didn't I didn't I say that, didn't I say, Hey, look,
I'm thinking they win the game with some sort of
weird scramble play, even a waggle play. Herbert Herbert maybe
runs not left. No, Herbert definitely runs right his power
side and he slides at the end, and he has
a big smile on his face. That's kind of how
I'm seeing this game end.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
I'm also going back to Mahomes a couple of years ago.
Remember when he ran five hundred yards against the Buccaneers
sideline the sideline. He must have really been hurt, because
this is spry and athletic, and watch me go to
work into the secondary, watch me lay the lumber. I
saw a lot of former players and pundit saying, yeah,
(24:27):
he's gonna wear that one before long. If he's low
and his lower in his shoulder and giving out licks
towards the sidelines. Just be careful what you wish for,
because payback, as we know, has many terms associated with it.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
But he was great tonight.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
We'll be curious to see what the long term effects
are of that collision between Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelsey
because if Worthy missed a significant time, now you take
away one of those deep threats. Great game for Hollywood.
Brown on his sixteen targets ten for ninety nine. Sorry,
if you get that bonu set one hundred yards, you
lose and you get nothing.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
But you know, Travis Kelcey, I say, we still do that?
Is there that the bonus for all? We used to
do that all the time, but like the last like
ten twelve years, I'm like, yeah, I felt like those
leagues are kind of going away with those hundred yard bonuses.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Yeah, but it's like anything right, there's still gonna be
that smattering Like now you're a holdout if you haven't
gone to at least half PPR. Everything's PPR or a
bus like screw that. You know, you know, you don't
get points for a quick you know, shovel pass. In
my book, I need something to earn earnest where there's
(25:38):
an overhand throw or Patrick Mahomes falling to the ground
and doing that weird ass shovel thing he did.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
D I'm so with you, but but everybody loves PPR
and I can know and PPR leagues, I can't, but
that's what everybody wants to do, so I'm like, I can't.
I you know, I can't hate the players. I got
hit in the game right.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
And you can miss me on the super flesh too
while I'm at I'm on my little soapbox. But all
of that for Mahomes, he was fantastic and got after it.
The offensive line did about as much as you could.
The run game is really going to be a question
with Pacheco and Hunt whether you're going to get enough
out of them to give you any kind of level
(26:18):
of balance. But Kelsey failing to extend and really make
a play on that ball in the red zone after
that deep ball again predicated and set up by Mahomes
on the scramble towards the right sideline and right before
he gets leveled winging it down field to Hollywood Brown.
I mean Kelsey came across untouched, scraped across the middle,
(26:39):
and then just didn't really make an effort to get
to the ball was a little out in front of him,
but should have been able to walk in for the
touchdown to give us fantastic finishes. Yeah, think about al
Koa from back in the day. But instead we got
the fantastic finish on a fantastic four on a third
(27:01):
down and fourteen scramble from Herbert. But yeah, Magic Mahomes,
you're brought up points. If you drafted him, you probably
got him at a little bit of a discount, far
beyond the reaches of those first four scrambling quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
And today he said, hey, I could do that too.
So there's Mahomes now, justin Herbert who goes for three
eighteen three touchdowns on the night, and again this scramble
that clinched the game for the Chargers. Take a listen
to how it unfolded in Brazil just a few moments ago. Well,
(27:33):
that's gonna get inter Come on, man, holn't played a yet.
He's putting back inside twenty five right. You know, here's
the thing, tight shirt. Nobody remembers that play. Nobody. They
all remember the butt fumble, but nobody remembers that Rember No.
(27:57):
Twenty fifth. He will never let you forget you. Sound
like Bill Paxson an Independence Day. We will not go
gentle in to that good night. We'll not go gentle
to those good nights Tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
So are you channeling the You're gonna start talking about
Wizards soon and see if you can get an accent
that works there or what?
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Here is the Justin Herbert scramble that won the game
for it and they are gonna throw it and it's
Herbert to his right with a lode open lane and
he picks it up and slides down in bounds. What
a knight for Justin Herbert? No team. There was Charges
(28:36):
Radio Network on the call. What a night for Justin Herbert.
Right now, you talk about what the last couple of
years have been for Patrick Mahomes, where he's become a
game manager. A lot of it because of the personnel
the Chiefs have that were built on a big defense.
Justin Herbert has gone through the last couple of years
of is he still the guy we thought he was
after his first year or two in the league. Right
(28:58):
Because Herbert comes into the league, the Charges really drafting
me because well, he's the top quarterback on the board.
Didn't really have a great senior year at Oregon, but hey,
thirty touchdowns is okay, he's fantastic. Thirty eight touchdowns a
second year and we thought, man, this guy's gonna take
over the league last couple of years. Yeah, he's been Okay,
he's been good. But has he been the guy that
(29:21):
we thought he was in twenty twenty and twenty twenty one.
He has not been. He's a guy that's kind of
settled into being the guy that, hey, well, I'm gonna
throw between twenty and twenty five touchdowns and you know,
five to ten interceptions I'll throw for about you know,
thirty five hundred yards. Like that's kind of been the
year it was. And last year Harbad didn't rely on
him nearly as much as you thought. I No, he
had a great year as far as his touchdown interception ratio,
(29:43):
a career low in picks with three twenty three touchdowns,
good quarterback rating, but overall the image of Herbert was, well,
is he still the same guy? Did he peak a
little bit earlier in his career? Right like the people
all you know that peaked his freshman in high school?
But knowing hearing how and seeing how Jim Harbaugh has
(30:04):
talked about Herbert in the offseason, and just the amount
of responsibility that it sounded like he was going to
put on justin Herbert's plate. It sounded like Hey, I
understand he is our best player and we're going to
go as far as he goes, no matter what kind
of offense I want to build. And Harball likes to
build an offense that doesn't really rely on the quarterback
(30:24):
to win games. Hey, you are the head of the snake.
But we got guys to run the football. We'll throw
and we need to. We have weapons. We're building the
offensive line out. That's how we win here in the NFL. Yeah,
you need games where your quarterback does it all by himself, right,
you need that. And Herbert tonight showed you that he
is still that guy. Man, he is still that guy.
(30:45):
This is a game against a pretty good defense where
Herbert looked fantastic. Now he was up up right in
the pocket the entire game. And you give a lot
of credit to the charges offensive line early. You're one
hundred percent right on. He delivered the football, he made
all the big plays, three touchdowns. He's turned Quentin Johnson
into a big weapon. Now, it just took him a
year to get going. And the big scramble on third
and fourteen, Like you can see, there's a difference in Herbert,
(31:09):
and I'm already thinking that we're gonna get this year
out of Herbert's gonna look way more like his first
two years in the NFL than his last three, Like
he's back to that guy from twenty twenty and twenty
twenty one.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Well, the beauty of it is Greg Roman's got the
ability to go and pull the strings right, and for
the entirety of the off season, all the hyperbole put
forth by Jim Harbaugh related to Justin Herbert, some of it,
to your point, right, is the all right, I'm just
making sure he knows it's on his shoulders. He's got
(31:42):
to be the guy because I'm in a lot of
punditry about it, right, waiting for him to take that
step into that next echelon of quarterbacks and arrive and
announce his presence with authority like he's nukle loosh, right,
kind of thing that we look at Herbert and wondered
exactly how this offense would still play. Is it going
(32:03):
to be the run heavy? And I think there's gonna
be games where we probably see a little bit of that.
But the re emergence and reinstitution of Keenan Allen gives
them that extra extra little bonus, right because we already
know what mconkey was able to do before Keenan comes back.
Now Johnston more comfortable, a guy that got past his
(32:25):
early drops, his early inconsistency, and he doesn't have to
be the guy right He can be a number two
and number three and that changes the coverage that's going
to get you open on some of these crossers like
they had. And if Herbert's going to be there and
just be able to watch the field like he was tonight,
I mean, how easy did he make it look the
(32:47):
entire night? And like I said, I give full credit
because you're losing slater All having this shift back. I
know it goes back to his college position, but that
wasn't the plan. The plan was that you had your
bookkend and then you work from there. And the fact
that they were able to keep this Chiefs defense absolutely
(33:09):
useless in terms of a pass rush over the course
of the night, keep him clean and allow him to
pick them apart like that only bojoll. I mean they
mastered what Spagnola was trying to run defensively against them tonight.
I can't wait to see how this flows out. They've
got three division games that start their season They've got
a very weird schedule, and I know the point was
(33:30):
being made that they've already travel once they come back
to La more miles this week than the Bengals will.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
Travel all year, O man. So Justin Herbert is back.
Patrick Mahomes is back. The Chiefs might not be. But
that's why I picked the charges for the AFC Championship
Game time now to find out what's trending in the
wide world of sports. But guy's been called the Justin
Herbert of Fox Sports Radio. Thank you. I'm pretty sure
we're gonna get the twenty twenty twenty twenty one version
(33:58):
of him tonight doing up. It's Steve de Sega.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
It just means there's no defense to support me. By
the way, according to Next Gen Stats, on that clinching
nineteen yard gain down the sidelines for Herbert tonight, he
reached a top speed of over nineteen point eight miles per.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Hour, thirdies faster than he's fatter than of his career.
Speaker 5 (34:21):
And by the way, in his four years at quarterback
for his hometown Oregon Ducks, his senior season, thirty two
touchdown passes only six interceptions, won the Rose Bowl in
a top ten matchup against Wisconsin twenty eight twenty seven
three touchdown runs, and he was Rose Bowl MVP. In
his final college game. Tonight, opening this season an NFL
(34:42):
game in Brazil, the Chargers beat Kansas City twenty seven
to twenty one. Herbert three hundred and eighteen yards passing
three touchdowns. The Chiefs missed an extra point kick, missed
a two point pass attempt, and they had a sixteen
play drive in the second quarter, nearly nine minutes worth
with a They settled for a field goal. Patrick Mahomes
(35:02):
over two hundred and fifty yards, passing one touchdown through
the air, one on the ground, but the Chiefs lose
by six. They've actually had a streak broken. They had
won seventeen straight one possession games until tonight, and in fact,
in an opener, this performance by Herbert. How many quarterbacks
in the last five years have had in their opener
(35:24):
at least three hundred and fifty total yards, at least
three touchdowns, no turnovers. The answer is Patrick Mahomes twice
and now Herbert this evening.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
No, I have different, I have different I have hang On,
I have Zach Wilson and Mike White and Justin Fields
on Sunday.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
Does everybody remember the full week where we went Mike
White and nothing else on this show?
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Remember the Mike White week? Man, those are the days.
I'm still waiting on my paycheck for what I had
to put up with. Yeah, exactly, combat pay.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
At the US Open in New York, Number two Carlos
Alcarez swept Novak Djokovic in a semi final. Number one
Yonicker advance tonight. Among the three WNBA games, Indiana ninety
seven seventy seven over Chicago, which is ten and thirty one.
In late night baseball, bottom of the twelfth inning at
Texas and the Houston Rangers.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Game is tied at three.
Speaker 5 (36:15):
A's lead nine to four at the Angels, bottom of
the six Diamondbacks ahead of Boston six to one in
the top of the seventh inning. Toronto beat the Yankees
in New York seven to one. Wins for the Mets
in Philadelphia, wins for the Cubs in Milwaukee.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve O, Jason Smith, Mike
Carmon Live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Coming up next. Yes,
we'll have more reaction from Friday Night football in Brazil.
Plus we continue our big predictions for Week one of
the NFL. We take a look at two of the
biggest games on the slate coming up next. Who's walking
away with the win? Keep it right here, Jason and
(36:48):
Mike Fox.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Fox Sports Radio Jason Smith Show with My best friend
Mike Harmon, Gojjasal's that's good, ty shure, that's good. That's good.
That's good. That that's good. Okay, even better, it's I
don't know if that's even better. I've always worked for
the ballant. Uh So, we got Pete Feutac stopping by
(37:25):
coming up in about ten minutes for all the latest
predictions prognostications for college football this weekend. But uh now
that we have Friday night in the rear view mirror,
a couple of big games this weekend in the NFL,
we're getting for Week one. Look, it's what we do
Friday nights. We take a look, we predict all the
big games, tell you how they're gonna go, and I'll
tell you what a lot of hype around this game.
(37:47):
The Micah Parsons status is up in the air for
the Packers. Uh, probably gonna go all the way to
game time. But I'll tell you what doesn't matter. This
is where the Lions remind everybody of who they are
and how good they are. They haven't lost their step.
That might even be better of an offensive team this
year because they're healthier than they were last year. Remember
Aiden Hutchinson his back. Jamier Gibbs is gonna clearly show
(38:10):
I'm the best running back in all of the National
Football League. It's gonna be an eye opening game. And
I'll give you a bold prediction as well. Jamison Williams
leads Detroit in catches in yards in what is his
breakout year, and it's gonna be Does Detroit need another weapon? Yes,
when he wants to get paid and get a new contract. Absolutely.
It does give me the Lions big as they remind everybody. Hey,
(38:31):
I know all this grizz is great for the Oh
the Packers are a super Bowl team that gay. Yeah,
they got Michael part Yeah. Don't forget. We've been the
best team in the NFC overall the last couple of years.
And you're gonna see that on Sunday. Give me the
Lions over the Packers.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Jampson Williams the receiving yards over under fifty three and
a half in this one.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
You had that going for you.
Speaker 3 (38:52):
I like the balance, the addition of Golden You drafted
him in the first you are gonna use him. He
Josh Jacobs helped leads two points. Is these points spread
here at Green Bay the narrow two point home favorite
over under sitting at forty seven, So expecting some fireworks
to flow out of here. Jacob's the favorite for an
(39:13):
any time touchdown out of everybody in the game, just
ahead of your guy, Jimi or Gibbs. I'm gonna take
the home squad to win a squeaker. They do cover
the number, but the Lion's curious to see new offensive
coordinator and new game plan. No gadgetry, or at least
I don't think so, the new gadgetry. I don't know.
(39:33):
Are we gonna get a lineman pass? I mean, what
are we gonna get, dude?
Speaker 1 (39:37):
If they run any of those crazy ass Ben Johnson plays,
I don't, I don't know. I think those are all
out of the playbook. I don't they're in the play
You RiPP Dan Campbell's like, okay, we're lighting these pages
on fire. Here we go. Ready, We're never gonna run
these plays again.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
That guy made me loose sleep Micah Parsons from earlier
trick plays for people who can't beat you straight up.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
It's like guy running around a ring all day trying
to jab. So there's your first one.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
This one.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
I'm really stunned. I don't know how Bengals and the
Browns is only five and a half points, Like I
read that. That's an I do spread. That's an insane spread.
How is it? How is it not twenty five and
a half points?
Speaker 3 (40:18):
I mean redill five over under at forty eight. The
Bengals have one defender.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Yeah, they're gonna play one on eleven.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
They have him, and they have the new guy who look,
let's face it, I mean they like the cut of
his jib. He's willing to go in and take Joe
Burrow down at the knees at practice Shamar Stewart after
he signed.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
So that's all finning good, But no, it does not work.
It does not work. The Bengals playing with his one defender,
the Brown's doing anything they want to. It's a sixteen
play drive. They're down on the one yard like they
win the game, but this is a two thousand and
seven shootout. Like Derek Anderson's back out there. Joe Burrow
announces this season will be different. I think it's a
trap game, except wow, Cleveland is really bad. Uh, the
(41:05):
offense is gonna continue. How razor sharp it was in
the preseason. It's a blowout, and I'll give you this
bold prediction. Dylan Gabriel sees some snaps in the fourth
quarter when the game is out of reach. He gets
his first run in the NFL with the game out
of reach. Wow, that's some spicy shit. Yeah, you like
that one.
Speaker 3 (41:22):
You like that. You just want everybody to get mad.
So you should be breaking down all the games of
week one. No, no, Dylan Gabriel came in before chad
Or Sanders eight seven seven.
Speaker 1 (41:33):
No, I mean, come on, he's coming in at the
end fourth quarter, Gabriel. It'll be absolutely fine, absolutely fun.
How about the big slay of college football Week two tomorrow?
How's it gonna play out? Find out from one of
our most respected insiders. Next Fox, You're right, Hello, Welcome
inside Hour three The Jason Smith Show with My Bag
(41:57):
friend Mike Harmon live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Well,
we'll have more on the big night and big weekend.
Week one of the NFL is here. We've had two
great games to start. The Chargers announced that hey, we're
just as good as Jason Smith thinks we are, as
they beat the Chiefs twenty seven to twenty one. But
(42:20):
we have a big week two in college football headlined
by Michigan Alabama potentially a Charlotte upset over North Carolina. Oh,
nobody better to break it all down with us than
longtime friend of the show, owner, proprietor publisher Grand Pooba
of College Footballnews dot com. You're one stop shopping for
(42:41):
everything college football, all the picks, all the prognostications, all
the analysis. He's on Twitter at Pete feutech. It is Petefeutack,
a man who picks every NFL game with the final
score of twenty four to twenty Pete welcome. Am I wrong?
What's up? Pete?
Speaker 4 (43:01):
Is you wrong? You know every game is kind of
twenty four to twenty at least so far. I mean,
tonight's was a little option, but basically every game, you know,
one way or another, it's gonna be a four point games,
unlike our college world where you said it's a big
week of games. If you're a Michigan f fan, it
is everyone else.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
I don't know, Pete. I think Michigan fans, Oklahoma fans,
North Carolina fans are nervous, Texas fans are nervous. Alabama
fans are nervous. I think there's a lot of nerves
going on here going into the games this weekend.
Speaker 4 (43:33):
Yeah, well that's what that's what Charlotte and ULM and
things like that for. But look, well, you liked last week.
I like last week. We all like last week. But man,
just teams look like they could have used it tune
up or two, Like this should be the week. I
get it because all the world cares about the NFL
right now. But if that, these two weeks should be
(43:56):
flipped where you should, like Arch Manning needed a week
just kind of get his feet wet. A liby, how
dumb you have to be to schedule your first game
of the season in Columbus, Ohio? Like, how dumb do
you have to be to see here? Yo kyo Florida
State in Tallahassee. You that's what you're scheduled Louisiana Monroe
for you know, central, Central, directional, Cupcake State or something like.
(44:20):
You need these tune up games. And you could see
from week one just how off some of these teams
are because the offenses didn't work, except for your beloved guy,
your quarterback at Michigan, who threw for way more yards
than any quarterback did last year for the Wolverine.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
All right, now we'll get to Michigan in the second.
But you bring up arch Manning, who needed a week
and now he's got three weeks before his next big test. Uh,
where are you? You've had a few days, let the
dust settle, and see how we played, and get to
and get to see your level of concern for arch
Manning after Week one against Ohio State.
Speaker 4 (44:52):
Where is it absolute zero? He's gonna be a billionaire,
He's give me the number one pick in the draft.
He's Manning, He'll be just five. Book. It's completely forgotten
in college sports. Is It isn't just the players. It
isn't just the uniforms or the nil money or the
guys you can get. It's the ability to go out
there and say, Okay, we just lost our superstar defensive
(45:13):
coordinator to Penn State. We're going to get Matt Patricia
to be our defensive coordinator. You know, that guy could
should be in the NFL. He's probably better coach than
about one hundred other college football head coaches. And that's
your defensive coordinator. You give that dude and all those
talented NFL caliber players, you know, a few months to
prepare for, you know, how to make Arch Fanning's life miserable,
(45:36):
and they're going to do it. So that was a
fantastic performance by the Ohio State defense. So it was
a bad day. Yes, Manning missed some throws that were there,
But again, get week one. We all forget just how
good these guys are. But you don't get the four
preseason games, and you know, I get about a third
of the practice in prep time that the NFL's guys do.
(45:58):
So of course they're going to be a little rocky
right out of the gate.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
Underwood two fifty one and a score in the first game.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Material on the other side waiting for him. Oklahoma five point.
Speaker 3 (46:09):
Favorite forty four, a low over under. Expected some defense
to be played here, Pete. But what'd you think of
Michigan and their title of finally having that quarterback. You know,
even though they won a national title, that guy got
no credit for it.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
I was just gonna say, Jay Mccartyeah, he didn't well,
you know, almost like he knew it was coming sometimes,
you know, he was that good. But like I'm sorry,
I'm sorry too too soon. But no, underwent to the guy.
I mean, he's he's going to be the guy. I mean,
let's see what happens this week. You speak of a
great defensive mind. This is when we need to see
(46:43):
Brent Venables in that Oklahoma thing kick in because last
year bad year. They've had two losing seasons in the
last three. Other receivers were hurt last season. It just
was a bad down year. And wow, do they need
this because Michigan can lose and Nelson. The rest of
their schedule is not a breeze. But it's not bad,
(47:04):
you know, for being a Big Ten school. If they
win this, they're not gonna lose three games the rest
of the way, and they're gonna they just put them
in the College Football Playoffs. They're gonna be ten and
two if they can beat Oklahoma at Oklahoma. If Oklahoma loses,
Dear God, look at that schedule they have left. I
mean they're they're really good. I mean m Tier's really good,
Jay not from the Cal running backs, really strong. They
(47:25):
loaded up with the transfer portal, all their receivers are healthy.
This is easily the best team yet under Brett Vnables,
and the best Oklahoma team in a while. But that
is a ten and two team with a five and
seven record, because wow, they just they play everybody in
the SEC after this. So this is a must win
game for the Venables era.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
Yeah, I look at it this way, Pete, I agree.
This game being in Oklahoma is the difference. I think
we're gonna come out of this game Oklahoma with a win,
but feeling much better about Michigan because honestly, Bryce Underwood
looks like he's everything we thought he was going to be.
He's decisive, he's fearless in the pocket, he delivers the
football in small windows. And yes, you didn't get a
(48:07):
great opening of the Michigan playbook because you know this
is not how they do it. Did they wait until
they play a team they didn't give put anything out
there on tape for Oklahoma. But man, he looks like
he's everything they expect him. To be and he was.
He was as good as advertised. I saw him last week.
He was terrific.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
Yeah, at least for one week against a team that
he should have done that again, So we'll see. I mean,
he's still a kid. It's just this two freshmen in
his you know, second game in this environment, and there's
that fear that you know, look, look what we saw
week one. Now, Tallahassee was a buzzsaw for Alabama. I
mean that that place was you could just tell that
(48:43):
they were ready to just unleash after you know, the
horrible season and the problems at the end of the
year before, and that was just a cathartic moment and
that place was just going crazy. You could see in
Miami too, where they were just that crowd as much
as it could possibly be for Miami was there. Uh
And just a lot of these places, a home field
advantage just turned into a thing. I think Oklahoma is
(49:05):
one of those programs where they've been so meh and
they now I think Texas was number one, and there's
still the hot stuff with Manning and you know, I
think they're ready to be like, hey, we're supposed to
be the SEC team here and I think that's a
program and a fan base that you're gonna you're gonna
see a real interesting atmosphere tomorrow, at least I hope so,
because again that's the slate, little thin, little fin outside
(49:26):
of this game tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (49:28):
How many players on the current North Carolina rosters started
printing off deep to make transfer letters.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
YEA. Was the thing about that game is you could
see it where here's Bill Belichick, the greatest pro maybe
the pros all around head coach of all time, and
all off season, you could tell they had those first
fifteen ish plays right down, and all of a sudden,
North Carolina looked like they're gonna win the National Championship
because each of those first pro scripted plays worked perfectly.
(49:59):
And then TCU showed up and adjusted and then bad
things happened. So look, there's there were two games last
week that I think everyone's kind of kind of over
freak out about, but it was really more about the
other side. When was UCLA looking awful, but Utah's just
I think they're the real deal. And HECU they got
(50:19):
he was a nine win team. You got to see
that was a team that was ticked off coming into
it and they head coach Tunny Deck said as much afterwards.
That's a nine win team with everybody back, and they
loaded up through the transfer portal and they just played
like it. So look, North Carolina's going to beat Charlotte
with ease. That's but again, that was a game where
(50:40):
an opening night they needed to play Charlotte week one
because if you have seventy new players coming in, you
need some time just to get everything down. And nothing
does that like, you know, a week one game. That's
why you schedule the easy games first, like Michigan did.
Speaker 1 (50:55):
College Fallnews dot COM's pu Tech our guest here, Jason Smith,
Mike Carvin lost Fox Sports Radio Studios. Okay, now, speaking
of level of concern, you feel great about arch manning
in Texas this week, Alabama head coach Caitlin Debor said, hey,
we can still do some big things this year after
they probably had the worst loss of Week one, because wow,
that did not look like Alabama. Can Alabama still be
(51:18):
really good? Are you still stuck up on Alabama or no? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Of course, I mean they're still talented. I mean again,
I keep harping on this. Ty Simpson looked like he
needed reps. He wasn't there yet, and it's that's why
you play. You don't play these types of games early.
And usually for Alabama the defense takes care of it.
But that team, the problem is that the talent is there.
We know that the NFL has about to take twenty
(51:42):
five of their guys over the next couple of years.
They just look, whoa they there's no life there. And
again that might have been a case where Florida State
was just at a whole other, ramped up level. And
again with the coordinators, it helps when you can get
gut smells on to be your offensive coordinator, and he
had that thing dialed up. Everyone was ultra focus. Look
(52:04):
Thomas Cassianos, the quarterback, he wrote a couple of checks
with his mouth that he cashed because wow, he was great.
He was everything at all the smack talk to Alabama
all off season. He backed it up in a big way.
That team looks fantastic. But yeah, for the next couple
of weeks, Alabama had better just come out and win
like ninety three to nothing, just to prove that they can.
(52:25):
And at some point this offense has to work. They
had you know, he you know, divors great at Presno
State in Washington. They've got more talent at Alabama, but
this offense chess has not clicked yet.
Speaker 3 (52:37):
Pete the last one for you, I mean, and the
big nude kickoff forty three. The total Iowa State three
and a half point favorites over Iowa. We get this
one in week two. Let's get it on.
Speaker 4 (52:48):
Come on now, as rational. Look, you look at this game,
and i always got a quarterback. Gronowski, the guy from
South Dakota at State is just an elite quarter He's
probably the best passer, all around playmaker that Iowa's had
a long time. Iowa State looks great offensively. This should
(53:09):
be a good back and forth battle. But look, we
really know this. It's how this is gonna work. It's
the final score is gonna be two to one because
Iowa Iowa. They just they're not just because they're guy's
gonna revert to their old form and this get's gonna
keep punting it all the time and someone will make
a kick and there'll be a safety or two. So
(53:30):
it's just it's it should be like a twenty seven
to twenty four game. It's gonna be tight both Like
I think Iowa pulls this off. It's kind of crazy,
but the road team has owned this series for a while.
I think Iowa wins, but this is a this is
a big game. I always State wins. This going to
going along with all the other big performances by the
Big twelve and Week one and probably this week. Uh
(53:51):
that's gonna be a big big boots of the conference
that though, I wows they can pull this off.
Speaker 1 (53:55):

Speaker 3 (54:12):
Uh see he talked about an Iowa quarterback. He's been
on with us for a decade. He's never mentioned an
Iowa quarterback. The punter is usually first. And you want
to know something crazy, Okay, this is this is amazing,
right Iowa? Iowa State is the big nude kickoff. Okay,
you look at vivid seats right now, these are all
the top twenty five games. How much you have to
(54:34):
spend right now for a ticket for these games?
Speaker 1 (54:37):
You ready, Okay, hit me Penn State eight dollars, Texas
thirty two dollars, Illinois Duke, that's a pretty good game,
twenty two dollars, Florida State sixteen dollars, SMU fifty dollars,
Indiana twenty dollars, Texas Tech six dollars Texas A and
M twenty dollars, Ohio State thirty dollars, Georgia thirty six dollars,
(54:58):
Oregon twenty five dollars, Clemson sixteen, Kentucky forty five, Tennessee
forty four. Okay, these are all the top to the
top twenty five games. Right, Miami tickets as low as
six dollars. Okay, twenty four dollars for LSU. Right, all
of these, you know it's between twenty and fifty bucks. Oklahoma,
you can get an Oklahoma Michigan tickets as low as
(55:19):
fifty seven dollars. The big the ticket, the most money
you have to spend to get into a game right
now is Iowa. Iowa State tickets available on vivid seats
starting at one hundred and thirty dollars. That's the most
that's the most expensive ticket. Doubling every single other home
team playing at home in a top twenty five game.
That was awesome.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
Think eight dollars, yeah, twelve dollars to forty.
Speaker 1 (55:44):
Six dollars to see Miami, right, why not for.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
Five two belt Jimmy Johnson might show up there again.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
Come on, boy, one hundred and thirty bucks to go
see Iowa, Iowa State. So why the big nude kickoff
is there? Man? Big nude kickoff? Good stuff?
Speaker 4 (56:01):
Man.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
