Let's give this you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:30):

mobile tire installation. Tireraq dot com is the way tire
(00:52):
buying should be. Well, here we are, opening night two
of the NBA season. Go New York, Go New York.
Go Go New York, Go New York.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
So it begins another long arduous journey towards futility.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
I said it two years ago, I said it last year.
I said it the off season two months ago. You
called get win the Super Bowl. Now I don't need
them anymore. The Knicks are going to the finals. This
is it. My other sports got me to the Knick.
This is this. I'm all in.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
They limb I have you are crawling across the finish
line these last couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
This is all I have. Get me water. Is it
a mirage or is it not? Get me to the Nis, bruntson,
get me to the Nick. I felt Shoe, he was real.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Have you ever had a thirst that you felt like
you were crawling through the desert and all the water
in the world couldn't slake it. That was me waiting
to get to the Knicks. Get to the Knicks. The
Knicks were up big at halftime, a huge run in
the third quarter by Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers, but
the nick pull away in the fourth quarter and win it.
(02:02):
And honestly, looks the marquee game of the night. You
saw all the start the marquee in the game night
the night is on right now, Oh blake, this one.
This is the JV game of the night. Come on, man,
God san Antonio, and yeah, big deal. Cooper Flagg is
playing Wenby is playing Okay, it isn't really good too
to quench it. But we had an Eastern Conference Final
(02:23):
preview tonight and the Knicks one game one, okay, the
next one. See that. The only down part of the
night for me is this, right, like watching the game
and seeing how it was a great win all around
for the Knicks. Right, sure, you know, even they're playing
without Mitchell Robinson and no Josh Hart, Right, but still
a couple of young guys stepped up. Brunson was really good.
Karl Anthony Towns, who was questionable then doubtful then questionable,
(02:46):
played and he spurred them on late. Looking nineteen and eleven,
you had a great night from Andrew Nobi, who was
really good, really good defensively, Like, this is a really
great win. McBride gave you fifteen off the bench. Oh,
this was this was a balance. This was a really
good win. It's a really good win against a terrific team. Right,
they lost to every game last Remember the whole big
deal all the Knicks can't beat the Cavaliers. Gave me
(03:07):
the Celtics. Yeah, wait till the playoffs, big wy just
trying to channel your inner Dodgers and Brewers thing. Then
it doesn't matter. And then I'm seeing in the sideline.
I'm seeing, you know, it's Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor
there and sitting next to Tracy Morgan and Chris Rock
and Jimmy Fallon. Everybody's there, and I'm going, man, I'm
exhausted already. I feel like we should be in the
(03:28):
NBA Finals at this point, Like it's game one. I'm like,
because watching the end of the game, the Knicks were
up big, the Cavaliers cut into it. The Knicks of course,
get down to iole ball with Brunson at the end
and they're moving the ball so great. And Brunson usually
is good for at least one turnover in the final
two minutes of a game because they give him, you know,
they ask him too much. But I'm watching and I'm exhausted.
I'm like, I feel like I just watched him and
(03:50):
win a big playoff game and it's Night one of
eighty two. That's the one part where I'd walk away
and go, man, night one of eighty two, and I'm like, okay,
but I needed it. I didn't. I didn't know how
much I needed this win until they won this.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
So it's that first step back onto a treadmill or
you know, an ellipse or whatever after a while, and because,
let's face it, with the Jets, it's not been a
lot of heavy lifting. Right in the fourth quarter, it's like,
how badly is this going to end? As opposed to
grinding out every play with the highs and lows.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Of your emotions.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Now, you were very enamored with the cutaways to all
the celebrities. You mentioned Christine Taylor like fourteen times, yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Show you were well, they showed her. You only mentioned
Ben Stiller like twice. You got obsessed with Christine see
Ben Stiller. It games a lot. I like Christine Taylor.
You know, you just don't like No. I you know what, No,
I'm not a.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Big Seference fan. It's I've tried it four times, so
it's too Yeah. The first episode, I was like, it's
got to get better. It's like, I can't even get
through the first episode. Get into a second season? Oh
you met, I couldn't.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
I got through the first episode and I think the
first part of the I didn't even get through the
first That's it, man, when you get older, you can't.
I can't do it. I can't. What's the old Seinfeld
thing where oh you know you can nurse your way
through programs, and you know my my mom likes to know.
I'm gonna gonna stick with it for four or five episodes.
Are gonna nurse it along? No, you gotta grab me
or I'm out. Yeah, it's listening to albums like I
(05:17):
used to. I listened to this album until I like it.
But what if you don't like it? No, I'm gonna
listen to it until I like it because it's supposed
to be really good. But now I'm like, if I
listen up, yeah, thirty seconds to one song, I'm like, yeah, no,
I'm not buying this. I had that college right because
you had to buy the album. I get you'd go
to the album release, you'd buy it. Yeah, I'd listened
to it.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
I had several occasions where I literally walked it down
the hallway. I'm like, I don't need this anymore. Here's
an album for you. I'm done with this. It's like,
that's it. I'm like, yep, I gave it two listens.
I'm out now watching you.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
You gotta pace yourself, man, I need your doctor that
your heart's okay. But I'm exhausted after them. But I
think that was a lot I needed it, though, I
would be remiss. Right, we're talking nothing else in my
life but the Knicks. I have nothing else sports. That's
all I have. No the rest of my life, they're
no sports wise, I have nothing but the Niggs. I'm
trying to have nothing, but I have nothing but the Nicks.
(06:08):
My life's a trivia right now.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Oh okay, so we got the Spurs and with the Mavericks,
so that's great. But rolling across the scroll is also
the fact that once upon a time this would have
been a marquee game. It's the Pelicans and the Grizzlies. Yeah,
and it keeps showing me the Morant and Williamson's you
know lines, hum, like wow, that would have been the
evening game. Like three years ago. They would have still
(06:30):
been pushing back. Now it's like it's just an also
ran game. So that's where we're at. Bulls playing as well.
So I'll watch and live and die with that fourth quarter.
But it's good to have the NBA back.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Yeah, I'm watch your excitement every year. I mean, we
watched that that spike. That's the best part of it.
The NBA every night is Opening Night for the first month. Yeah,
every night feels like Opening Night. Now, I know other
sport has that. And look there's a couple of other
big games again, just really quick, Oh my goodness, what's
happening to the Clippers right now? In Utah? The Clippers
are going to score seventy five. The Jazz are gonna
(07:01):
score seventy five in the first half. They lead the
Clippers right now sixty five forty two with three and
a half to go in the second. And I think
the Jazz are playing with four guys like, that's what's
happening right now. They're they're beating up the Clippers. So
the Clippers are are really bad tonight, but they made
up for it by making sure we'll give Kawhi leon
it all this money to come back.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Do you think that's fractured the locker room with everybody going,
where's my extra no show job? I had a lot
of free time. I was hanging out. I'd hang out
with my family and you were getting millions to no
show there?
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Yeah, come on, I mean it's stunning. I gotta go
to work. Where's he really going? I don't know. He's
in a safe room somewhere watching a movie. The Jazz
with players that outside of market, and a lot of players,
people that nobody's heard of, are beating up on the
Clippers right now. So bad.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
He's got me six man. Prestler's got thirteen. They've already
got five guys off the bench. Hey there's Ace Bailey,
he's got two.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yeah, there you go. Anytimee a guy named Ace gets
into stuff. We didn't know is Ace Bareley? How happy
was he going to be to be with the with
the jazz We still don't know they going to be.
I mean the fact that plus thirteen he's happy right
now nine minutes. I don't think he's unhappy. Philipowski getting
after it, think, yeah, good balance and definition. But you know,
in the locker room, I got to think I get
(08:18):
a check? Was I supposed to get a second bonus?
Speaker 4 (08:22):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
For everything? But no, some great matchups across the board.
We were also looking at Philadelphia and what was going
on there. And that's the thing here right now. This
is the game well, from from a results perspective, from
an excitement level, this is the game of the night
so far. Seven seconds left to go in regulation, the
Sixers lead the Celtics one seventeen one sixteen. Of course, uh,
(08:43):
this is the Celtics without Jason Tatum, Jalen Brown leading
the way for them so far tonight. Uh, he's having
a big night for them with twenty five points. But
here's the story, Tyres Maxi forty points. Okay, he's become
their best player. He's become one of the top fifteen
players in the stright you get it thirty four from VJ.
Edgecomb Today, the backcourt of the Sixers tonight has combined
(09:07):
for seventy four points. Edgecomb first round pick out of Baylor,
and all of a sudden, Oh dude, is for real, right,
all of a sudden, Wait a minute, they found something, right, Hey,
that's great and they need it because joelleenb tonight. Watch it.
Just watch some of the highlights you can see on
social media and his lack of I just want to say,
simply movement, move effort. He played. He played twenty minutes tonight,
(09:33):
did not play. I don't believe he played a minute
in the fourth quarter, scored four points, six rebounds. Like
you really wonder health wise where he is. Like watching tonight,
like seeing him not even jump on some plays where
he could contest a ball under the rim, Like there's
a couple plays, I'm like, why is he not trying
to contest that? Like I really wonder, like I watch
(09:54):
him seeing him now, seeing him sit out, I wonder
about his health. I wonder what he has left as
an NBA player because of those knees, his knees, his
knees of real. Obviously he's been nothing but hurt throughout
his career. But I watch a game like this and
I go, man is embiid near the end, Like WHOA.
I know it's one game you don't want to overact,
but like seeing him play tonight, like he's not right
and are we going to ever see the embid that
(10:17):
was winning, you know, was an MVP caliber player and
someone who was taken over the league and was gonna
be the guy that dragged the sex seventy six ers
back to big time relevancy. Now it feels like, yeah,
he just was the conduit to get them to MAXI
and now edgecomb again thirty four and seven rebounds tonight
in a game the Sixers just won, one seventeen one
sixteen Peyton Peyton Pritchard misses a shot, so the Celtics
(10:41):
go down to the Sixers, who may have found a
little bit of special sauce with their brand new opening
back course.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah, now they getting a bunch of the memes are
starting up on a embiid. Uh there's a bunch of
pictures of Michael Olowa candy out there.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Oh that's not right.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Well, you love selling jokes, right, you always have a joke.
What I call and have my communication with my younger
daughter later on in the evening, it's like, hey, Maddie
and then you have a joke. Right, here's a guy
from twenty seven minutes ago. Uh, no, I d jen g.
My wife asked if the dishes were done, and I
yelled Joel Embiid.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
She hugged me. She knew they were washed. Yeah, it's
I really you wonder it's just cruel. What does like
what does he have left? Right cause the whole last
couple of years been well, you gotta find a way
to to uh to move on from Embiid, right, everybody
need you know? He needs a uh he needs a
fresh start, and so do the sixers. Is something will
help all sides. But he gets hurt. They couldn't trade
(11:36):
him because of the contract he signed. They had to
wait then, So when you thought they could move him.
They couldn't because he was injured.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
It was really really difficult. And now seeing tonight, I'm like, dude,
is the guy healthy? Can the guy still do it?
Is he just exhausted? Because I'm looking at him bed
going oh wow, I really got to see what happens
in the next game and where he is at physically.
Because I see this, I go what does he have left?
I mean, really, what does he have left at this point?
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:03):
We go back.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
I mean he hadn't played since the twenty second of
February against Brooklyn, played thirty one minutes fourteen, seven to
five and left that game. He's now back on the court,
and we talked about it a lot the offseason, right
the you need to move on, give him greener pastures,
reset your franchise around Maxi and all of that. But
(12:25):
the big question was how do you move him right?
And as much as you can say the money works
itself out well with the NBA, all that money comes,
there's there's there's way too much that that has to
come along with it, as well as physically. We've watched
it year after year and that's the preview of everything.
(12:45):
It's like, well, if he's healthy, dot dot dot, and
he's the pre eminent player in the NBA when we've
gotten that, and a couple of years ago it led
to an MVP.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Campaign, but that was the outlier. Every other year, it's
can he get through two and not even that. Can
you somehow nurse it to you make the playoffs and
can keep him with his minutes and body into the
playoffs and it might be done? Yeah, I mean really,
I really hope that this was a one game thing.
But watching him play and seeing him play in this it's, man,
(13:18):
dude's not He's just not moving. Yeah, I mean, he's
just not moving.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
I mean, because we go back to him coming into
the league with all the issues that he had, right,
and he battled through and became.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Little while to get to them. He's the original trust
the process guy, right, But a couple of years but
I mean that draft was twenty fourteen, so it's been
that t tick of the clock getting louder and louder.
I mean, that's a decade and we might have finally
had the alarm go off. Exit ab outa Fresca, exit
Swallen Dome. The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon live
(13:49):
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. We're just getting started
big night in the NBA. Yes, Cooper flags NBA debut
Wenby who looks like he might be eight feet tall tonight.
He could be eight five by the end of the game.
How about that? I really, honestly, he does. He does
look taugh, notugh because if they're giants in the sky.
I mean, I don't know if it, but I think
he does look taller. Maybe it's in my head because
(14:10):
I was told he was tall, but I mean I
think he might be taller the next one. Everybody's taller
to you. Yeah, buddy, Well he's feeling Jayalen Brunson's nine
feet tall, dribbling and sneakers. Oh look at the Nicks
Jason hoist the trophy. Not kidding any better. You're You're
glad you weren't in with him. We're sitting in the
back waiting waiting to come into the studio. How many
(14:31):
fowls did I call for?
Speaker 4 (14:32):
You?
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Called hero about forty two falls? But on every possession, No,
did he throw up on himself like Tracy Morgan? Oh,
come on, man, too soon for that.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
He was back to I guarantee you they had a
camera on him. Someone was sitting there in the third
deck just waiting on it. Wait for it. I didn't
get that exit up by a Fresco exit Swallen Dome.

Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon. Here's Towns from three.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Off the pump Bake and he knocks it down, Eluding
the defender with that pump bake and the Knicks are
back up by ten.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
The coach what's my role? It doesn't matter if he
doesn't know what his role is. He was good tonight,
Carl Anthony town He's singing, who am I from? Lay
miss Hey, Mike Brown, shut your mouth. I know my role.
There is your play of the night, Carl Anthony Towns.
Play the night, of course. Brought to you by tire
Rack For over forty years, tire Rack's been open customers
(17:19):
find the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Shipped fast and free, backed by free Road, has a
protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tire
rack dot Com is the way tire buying should be.
And yeah, you know, okay, just really quick before we
get to the big story out of the NFL. Just
watching all day tonight, like I feel like Carl Anthony Towns.
The other thing, like why I'm exhausted after this first
(17:39):
Knicks game is that I feel like we've already jumped
hip deep into the how happy will Carl Anthony Towns
be this year? Soap opera slash? Will the Knicks have
to trade for Giannis at the deadline? Right, So here
he is apparently didn't you're not sure about his role?
Can they.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Will?
Speaker 3 (17:58):
They need to do this because he's unhappy. I think
the tour are in parallel running sil one another. That's
not Hey, you know what, Carl's unhappy. So let's see
if we can.
Speaker 6 (18:09):
Go get Yannis. I think if you can go get Yannis,
you say, hey, Cat, it was a good run. But
if the Knicks are really good, I here's your role.
That's why I'm happy. I win either way, because either
the Knicks are really good all the way through the
year awesome, or the Knick struggle and they trade for
Giannis at the deadline, okay, and Karl Anthony Towns is
a new franchise player for the Milwaukee Bucks. Like, I
(18:30):
win either way. But I do feel like we've started
the drama already with Karl Anthony Towns unsure of his role.
According to reports, he was questionable to play tonight, and
then then he was doubtful, then he was questionable. Like
how do you go questionable to doubtful to questionable in
the span of like a few hours, Like I understand,
I understand, Like not even in the NFL, you've ever
(18:50):
been in a situation with say your wife or daughter
or me sitting next you, where we kind of have
an idea of a plan for the day and then
it kind of goes to another direction and then you
turn away like Cat might have felt, you know, mentally, physically,
he wasn't right.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Then it got worse, and then he said, you know
what if I don't play, they're gonna write some terrible
things about me. Night one, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor
will be unhappy if I don't play. And I showed
up to that thing with Seth Myers about trading guards,
people will be mad at me. I mean, like I said,
night one, and I already feel like ah, then we
were dealing with some stuff night one, like right, because
not like in the NFL, it's hey, guy's doubtful or
(19:29):
he's questionable, we're gonna run him out there before the game,
and then he plays or not. I've never seen a
guy go well this morning, he's questionable. Oh no, no, no,
he's downgraded and doubtful. Oh no, wait wait wait wait
wait no, now he's back up to questionable and then
he plays. Do you think he flipped a coin like
Harvey Dent? I know I mean we're already jumped in.
Let's jump right inta get radio of Jalen Brunson berating
(19:53):
him in the locker room that the next season is
the equivalent of Lethal Weapon two. Okay, okay, of the
few movies where the sequels better than the original. But
what I loved about Leth the Web, well there's a few.
Oh yeah, yeah, Well Terminator was still really good, but
yeah T two was better. Yeah. T two was better.
Aliens was better than Alien Turtle two, Ninja Ninja Turtles
(20:16):
three better than two? Oh yeah, two better than one?
Which one had the Ninja rat that was the first
one Leonardo Michelangelo And no, I mean when Vanilla Ice
got involved, Oh that was that was That was too
That was too Yeah, they had to how do we
up it past?
Speaker 4 (20:30):
Uh? Oh?
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Ye got to get Let's get Vanilla and Ninja. Yeah. Like,
what I loved about Leth the Weapon, too, right, is
that it opens up. The first thing you see is boom,
Rigs and Myrta are in the middle of a car chase,
and then they're like why the first year is melkips
go whoa, And then they're betting on who's gonna catch
the bad guys. First, who's driving MYRTA on his wife's
(20:51):
station wagon? Nobody wanted to take the bets and and
it's this huge chase and there and they're you know,
and then Rigs drives and and ruins the car and
rubs it up against the rail. And I'm like, that's
how to open a movie. You just jump right in,
Like we don't need any backstory. There's no long moving
shots of a guy standing in front of an oil geyser,
or you know, here's a woman walking out of a
(21:12):
store and getting into a car with a with really
pensive music playing. No, we jump right in. I feel
like that was it. We jumped right in tonight. I
feel like we jumped into a playoff game. We jumped
into Karl Anthony Towns drama. We jumped right in. Yeah, man,
here's the good thing for you.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
As soon as you saw that station wagon, that money
should have been on the station wagon. You know why indestructible?
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, who's driving Rigs barn till I
was driving his wife's station wagon. All wanted the.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Best that you know, you've you've been around enough softball
and soccer moms.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Uh, they're not going to be deterred. Oh no, no, no, no, no,
that is not stopping. No, that was all positive. Yeah,
and you're hate mail at how about a Fresco. Meanwhile,
else wearing the NBA the late marquee Game of the
Night San Antonio and Dallas. It is the debut for
Cooper Flag and Wemby back. I think he's seven to nine.
He started the g at seven to five. He's seven
(22:01):
to nine right now, he's like grew. Wemby's got eleven
points and two rebounds in the first ten minutes. Meanwhile,
Cooper Flag zero points in nine minutes over two from
the four. They tried to set them up with an
Ali yupa of the beginning of the game, couldn't seal it.
But Ad has started off with a big game so far.
He's got ten and five rebounds through the first quarter
for Dallas. Again, San Antonio and Dallas thirty two to
(22:22):
thirty one, ten and a half to go in the
second quarter. Now in the NFL today, and I always
say this, I love the way that sports when when
when we're paralyzed in society about certain things, I love
the way sports leads the way in discussion for things
that are really difficult, and the bad Bunny situation playing
(22:45):
the Super Bowl. Clearly you can see after today and
after the last couple of weeks, this whole controversy is
not going anywhere. And Roger Goodell at the owner's meetings
today continued to not waiver and say Bad Bunny is
our choice for the halftime show with the Super Bowl,
and we you know, we we a lot of thought
(23:05):
went into this decision. This is what we're going with.
And obviously there's all kinds of controversy with bad Bunny
not having conscience in the United States. He said some
things about how things are going on with Ice and
now the Now there's another side that wants to get
George Straight to play halftime. And there's a big fifty
thousand seat signature, or there's a y, there's a lot
of petitions. Yeah, the petition George the front right. It's
(23:28):
a whole thing. And I love the fact that sports
is saying, you know what, it's it's the halftime of
the Super Bowl. What what is it? It's it's it's
someone singing, what does it matter? Right? But I love
that sports is saying we're not doing this and and
we're gonna put on who we want to. And here's
the thing, because there's the there there's a there's a
take that really gets to you why this is going
on with the NFL, And it's not really about politics.
(23:50):
Even though they knew what they were doing. They knew
that the choice of bad Bunny was going to be triggering,
uh for for President Trump and and and Republicans. That
was going to be a triggering thing. They knew it.
But why is the NFL putting bad money up right?
When they could have trin They could have found a
way to get Taylor Swift on and they didn't. How
do you not get Taylor Swift on? Like, oh my god?
But they decide to go with bad money and the
(24:12):
reason is this, and you know, it's great. We had
Rick Buker on last night to talk about the streaming
in the NBA last night, right we had two games
on last night. You couldn't get the beginning of the
Laker game because it was only streaming. Because that's how
NBC is doing it. And when you see the way
that the NBA is pushing and pushing their product and
the NFL the last few weeks just with stuff that's
(24:34):
been announced the big sports, the two big space and
even Major League Baseball knows this as well. But we
see it a lot where there's a lot more there's
a lot more active involvement in it. With the NFL
and the NBA is that they both know, Okay, domestically,
where are we with our sports? How much room between
our heads and the ceiling?
Speaker 4 (24:54):
Right?
Speaker 1 (24:54):
How much more room is there for growth with us?
Is their growth during the week for football or absolute
we have games Thursday, Monday night, Sunday night. Yeah, there's
still room for growth. But overall, hey, the NFL and
the NBA, how much more bigger are they going to get?
And if you're the NBA, you're like, hey, we want
to make sure that we continue to grow. The NFL
is still going to continue to go, but now you
(25:16):
are seeing both sports say, hey, yes, getting things outside
the United States is a little bit risky, it's a
little bit dicey. It may upset some of our fans,
you know the NBA's relationship with China, but this is
where these sports are going to continue to push their growth.
(25:37):
They have to go globally, right and and when you
see streaming rights, you know, going to NBC in Peacock.
Now you can't NBC and Peacock in Europe. Pretty well,
you can get it in South America. You can get
it in China, you can get it in Japan, you
can you can get these global streaming uh situations much
more easier than you're trying to get a basketball game
on a cable channel. Is something brought in and the NFL.
(25:58):
You look at what they've done the last couple the
last few weeks. Hey, Roger Gandell says, we're gonna have
a game outside the country every week. That's our goal
in the next year or two is to every week
to have a game summer, whether it's Berlin, whether it's
South America, whether it's in in England. We're gonna have
one a broad game a week, which sucks if you
play fantasy and you live on the West Coastau's gonna
(26:19):
get up at six o'clock in the morning to make
sure guys aren't hurt. But now, Bad Bunny, what is he?
Bad Bunny has a huge global reach. The NFL is
trying to say, we want to reach a global audience.
Now we have to get outside the United States to
continue our growth. And while there's gonna be some things
you see that the NFL is gonna do and the
(26:40):
NBA is gonna do. There's something they're gonna hold back
the Super Bowl. Obviously, you're not gonna see that go overseas,
and that's kind of a pipe dream, and that that
I don't know how that would be taken if you
move that game out of the United States. But you
see where, Hey, we're okay doing this and we're okay
getting outside the night. We're okay with all the criticism
we're gonna get because we know growing our product is
gonna happen global. And here's bad Bunny globally, one of
(27:01):
the biggest artists in the world is number three biggest
streaming artists in the world right now. I mean, this
is why, this is why the NFL says, hey, bad
Bunnies are pick This is this is why we're coninue
to grow the game globally. And this is just something
you're gonna have to get used to with these sports saying, hey,
you think, oh, we're only gonna be a couple of
games a year, Okay, No, No, we've opened the door
to that. You're gonna see more and more games more
(27:23):
times are you gonna see preseason games in the NBA
being played overseas like we saw the Knicks and the
Sixers earlier this preseason. It's just gonna continue to grow
and grow and grow. And this is why you've seen
what's gone on.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
Now.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Clearly did the NFL know that they were gonna get
some kind of pushback, Sure, but the NFL is saying
we're okay with that because our growth outside the United
States is what's gonna be better for us in the
long term. Yeah, I mean there's a lot to it.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
I mean, you go back to the old Hey, we're
gonna boycott things because we're unhappy.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Did that work? No, you watched it. People came back
and they brought twelve friends with them. Okay, that didn't stop.
Ad gambling and everything else that you're adding into the
mix continues to grow in that regard. Now, I want this,
you know, seven thirty five ish on on a Wednesday
night here in October that all those years I laid
(28:10):
the groundwork with you on global box office. Sure that
you used to push away and tell you it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
No.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
You used to mocket no no, because it was a
way for movie studios to take a look at an
underperforming movie and say, yeah, but globally we're doing well.
Wait a minute, this movie was an absolute bomb. He
made six million dollars this weekend. Yeah, but globally we
made eighty five million. So that's no, no, no, no, no, no no.
But it's the same thing. It's just now we move it.
We changed the letters the.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Associations as opposed to AMC or whoever's producing said film
in terms of their cost structure. Now we're talking about
the NBA and NFL and Major League Baseball in recognizing
the extra dollars and head count and everything else that
goes with it. Look, the old Kevin Durant rule works. One,
don't leave your feet when SGA has got the ball,
(29:01):
he's going to get to the free throw line. We
saw that last night. But two, you don't like it,
don't watch for fifteen minutes. Go do something else, Grab
a sandwich, walk the dog, go to the bathroom, go
commiserate with the people that you invited to your house
or wherever you're watching.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
The game, and go on to it. Every year, it's
the same thing. I don't like this artist well, and yes,
add the extra political part of things to this this
year's event. But you know, is it for me? I
don't know his music. Maybe I immersed myself a little
bit before the Biggest bat. Yeah, I don't know a
ton of bad money. I mean he was really good
(29:35):
in Bullet Trained, a Bullet Train.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
But I mean you get on down the line of yes,
you're you're trying to figure out how you can continue
to grow internationally and whether it's the different red zone
like packages or as you know, Adam Silver loves to say,
the highlight reel and highlight game that we are they're
still consuming even if it's a minute or two, that
(29:58):
all adds up. I mean, look at the metrics when
you talk about going on to YouTube, going on to TikTok, Twitch,
wherever you're at. It's all about minutes and impressions and
then getting in there and selling, selling, selling, And right
now the NBA is working on making good with Peacock
and NBC for all of the money they just spent
(30:18):
to say, hey, we need to make good because you know,
eventually we've got to re up on another contract. And
Roger Goodell, for however long he's in charge of the NFL,
his job is to keep putting more and more money
into the owner's hands, and if he can't extract it
from your pocket or frostburns, he's going overseas and he's
gonna find and turn them over like they're inside there
(30:40):
his theme park.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Yeah. I mean, look, it's just whatever the criticism gets.
You talk about those the NBA China business, they they're
okay with that because the end, because the ends for them,
it's going to be it's bigger in the long run
for us to do this than it is. We'll get
the criticism now, but we're growing our game global. Who's
sluffing off and going and doing somebody something else? Who's
(31:02):
sluffing off? No, there's no stuf. I didn't say slacky.
There's no sluffing off is there's no stuff, there's no
snuffle up. I guess there's no no snuffluffing going on. No,
it's not not happening.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
Not happening.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Was he ever real?
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Yes, they did make him real because kids were upset
that that they couldn't see him, so they made him
real at the end, Like yeah, yeah, then you in
December you'll finally see him for real. Yes, time now
to find out what's trending in the wide world of
sports with someone who's been called the John Cena of
Fox Sports Radio because sometimes he walks down the hall.
You can't see her. It's Monty because I'm too short. No,
(31:32):
because everyone I was gonna say, because you moved too quickly.
But but okay, that's fine. Listen to Oh I should
have said, you're the TUA. You probably couldn't see Jayleen
Waddle either. I wonder I would.
Speaker 7 (31:46):
Let's not discuss what I probably would see of the
old line in front of me. I'd probably be seeing
the bottom half. You know what I'm saying, Guys. Opening
Night of the NBA, thank you harmon.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Opening Night of the.
Speaker 7 (31:57):
NBA has been Uh really, I've been at the edge
of my seat for a lot of these games. It's
everything you'd want. Let's talk about the one that's at
the edge of my seat right now. Pistons and Bulls.
It looked like Kate Cunningham fouled Josh Gitty. Josh Gitty
with twelve seconds to go, Bulls up by one taking
the ball down. It looked like he was fouled by
(32:18):
Kate Cunningham. They said it was off of him. Now
there's a challenge by the Bulls. Twelve seconds. Bulls are
up against the Pistons one twelve to one eleven. Grizzlies
over the Pelicans. This was a tie game not long ago,
but Memphis is just pulled off and taking the lead.
One twenty two to one eighteen is a score thirty
two seconds to go. Zion Williamson for the Pelicans twenty
(32:38):
three points, seven rebounds, joum Ran thirty three points for Memphis.
Let's not talk about the Clippers moving on. The Spurs
are on top of the Mavericks thirty nine to thirty
seven halfway through the second quarter. King's over the Suns
twenty seven to eighteen late in the first Also late
in the first show, Blazers over the Timberwolves twenty nine
to twenty four. Fine the Clippers, they only scored nineteen
points in the I could.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Get the score off to day how I got you.
Speaker 7 (33:00):
The Jazz scored forty three points in the first quarter,
and right now they're up ninety one to fifty four.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
Halfway through the third quarter. I don't know if the
Clippers realize this is game one of the season. I
have no idea the next one go New York, Go,
New York, Go, Go, New York Gon. Already you're already
doing the song opening night. I got check. Yeah, you're
trying to bring her to the dark side. She's ready
to leave the Clippers. No, I've never he's vulnerable. I
(33:25):
am vulnerable.
Speaker 8 (33:26):
Knicks outscored. The Cavaliers went nineteen to one eleven. Crawly
Anthony Townsend Big Bodega with the double double, but five
players under in double digits. Magic held on one twenty
five to one twenty one against the Heat Pallo bound
Caro twenty four points and eleven assists former Clipper Norman Powell.
Speaker 7 (33:41):
From Miami twenty eight points and nine rebounds. The seventy
six ers survived one seventeen to one sixteen against the
Celtics in Boston vj Edgecomb and Edgecombe in his debut
thirty seven points, seven rebounds. He actually missed two very
crucial free throws with eight seconds, but they win.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
It's okay.
Speaker 7 (33:59):
He became one of five players to score thirty two
or more points in an NBA debut. He's the first
to do it since nineteen seventy four. He also broke
Lebron James's record for the most points scored in the
first quarter of an NBA debut. He had fourteen in
the first quarter. Lebron had twelve when he debuted. So
a big day for VJ. Edgecomb and the seventy six ers.
(34:21):
Raptors cruise passed. The Hawks won thirty eight to one eighteen.
Hornets top the Nets one thirty six to one seventeen.
In the NHL three games two have wrapped up. Devils
have won six in a row. They beat the wild
four to one. The Sabers defeated the Red Wings four
to two. Right now, Canadians over the Flames one zero
after two periods. A little NFL news, Commander's quarterback Jaden
daniels he's gonna miss their Week eight matchup against the
(34:42):
Chiefs because of a hamstring strain. But Ravens quarterback Lamar
Jackson did return to the practice field today. He was
limited because of his hamstring strain. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young
didn't practice because of his high ankle espraying back.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
To you guys, thank you very much, Monsig that amount
of time. The Jazz now have one hundred and seventy
five points.
Speaker 7 (35:00):
That's right, they do go Clippers go Clippers, Go h
Lee Willickers.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Coming up next, not one, but two NFL stories where
a quarterback and a head coach of saying things that
I don't believe one bit. That's next Jason and Mike Fox.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox.
Speaker 1 (35:26):

Employment Professionals provide the workforce you need. Go to expresspros
dot com to find a location near you. That's expresspros
dot Com. We have more NBA coming up in about
(35:47):
ten minutes, but two stories from the NFL off of
big stories from a day ago that I don't believe
what either person is saying. Okay, good, First, Rogers gets
to play the Packers this week, right, didn't get to
playing with the Jets. Get him to do it for
the first time, getting back to playing them, and he says,
(36:08):
quote playing the Packers is not a revenge game. Quote.
I don't have any animosity toward the organization yeah, okay,
now he's now he's just straight uplying us. Now it's
been a couple of years and he's let it go.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
I mean, we talked a lot about Russ Wilson at
some point, moving with.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Each other every day. He took two full years and
two MVPs to push his way out of there. He
couldn't stand He he every single chance he could. He
wanted to take shots at the GM and he wanted everything.
Oh no, no, no, no, it's not a revet. No, just stop, man,
you're straight uplying us. You're straight uplying. I mean, really,
I'm sorry. Don't don't say this didn't go doing with
(36:50):
the gleam in his eye though, did not see that
little U? No, no, no, because here's the thing is,
remember when he played the Jets and he was like, no, no,
you know I still have friends there all this. What
did he say after they won opening week? I was
happy to beat everyone associated with the New York Jets. No,
we'll do the same thing. Side on the bench game
for him, he was there for two years and he
was hurt for the entirety of one of them, and
it was awful. And now he's good again because you know,
(37:13):
you leave the Jets and you're good. But I mean,
come on, man, this is what a good villain does.
Of course, he brings you in with a big hug
and then he stabs you. Just own it. Just that's
what he's doing. I say, yeah, I want to throw
for eight touchdowns against these blankety blo no, no, no, it's.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
A seel good And then all of a sudden he's
doing the degeneration X crotch chop over on their sideline.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
I have after he throws his fourth touchdown. I have
a great relationship with a lot of people still in
that organization. Come on, the guys that work the hallways.
He's the one locker room guys. I mean, you don't know.
He's the one that runs for a touchdown against the Bears.
He's yelling at fans saying, I own you. Come on,
just own it, man, just own it. Yes, this is
probably the biggest regular season game you've played it in years.
(37:55):
Just own it. But like we talked about after that happened,
what did I say? I shrugged? It kind of went.
He kind of does own it, just to own it, right,
I don't believe you. Yeah, but he's going on a
bunch of these ayahuasca retreats and something. Maybe he's found
some peace, Aaron. You need he's married now, maybe maybe
she brings maybe that she brings coup. He's hearing Obi
(38:16):
wan Kenobi's voice. Let go, Aaron, let go. So what
I told you was true?
Speaker 4 (38:24):
View?
Speaker 1 (38:25):
I like that. Well, from a certain point of view,
you told me if I left the Packers it would
be great with the Jets. Well, now you're with the Steelers,
so things have turned out well. So what I told
you was true from a certain point of view. Yeah,
but those last three years and the Jets were epismo.
But now look where you are and part of your
journey this is this is part of how it goes Luke.
So I don't believe him. I also don't believe Sean Payton,
(38:48):
who said today quote in no way, shape or form,
did he mean to criticize Russell Wilson by saying he
told Giants officials he hoped to face the former Broncos
quarterback instead of Jackson Dart. Right, you've heard this the
last couple of days when when he talked about beating
the Giants on Sunday, Say, oh, man, I really I
was hoping that they would make that move to Jackson
(39:09):
Dart after we played them, Like, I talked to John
Mara about this, Not just no, I talked to the
owner of the teams. I really wish you made that
move after we played not something you'd been marinating and
thinking about. No, no, no, you went and found the owner,
shook his hand and be like, boy, you really screwed
me by changing quarterbacks. Russell Wilson responds by saying that
it was classless, not realizing you're still bounty hunting fifteen
(39:32):
years later, which was pretty good. Was the only thing
he needed was to get a shot of all the
bounty hunters from Star Wars that we have. Yeah, you
got to get Bosskin. Oh yeah, and now the bounty
hunters fat, well, he's not quite that's not quite about
He doesn't go out and do anything. It comes to him,
so he doesn't do a lot of the hunting. Yeah,
but he was there when he was just there. Yeah,
when they had he was bouy standing there. He was
(39:53):
bounty sitting in, bounty sleeping and bounty eating. He wasn't
bounty hunting, wasn't hunting anything. Eventually, the guys a lot
hunt You need you need Boba Fette, you need Boss,
you need the other guy with the that had all
the whatever the gaws around his head, you need, you
need those Bounty Hunters. But he'm gonna go buy all
those original figures. We're gonna line them up in here.
You know, to sit here and say yeah, no, no, no,
(40:14):
the way, the way the euphori of the game was
after it, dude, just stop, man. We know how bad
things were with you and Russell Wilson. We know that
things went with potentially you. You allegedly told him if
you don't take less money or you're not gonna play
on this team anymore. Just own it, man. You wanted
to say what you did because you felt for some
reason people don't understand that you won the Russell Wilson War.
(40:36):
Everybody knows you won. You making the decision to move
on from Russell Wilson was the right call. There's nobody
that thinks that wasn't the right call. But still, no,
I want to get out there and say it, No,
it was class less and just own it at that point, oh,
because there's no way you're telling me I didn't mean
a slight when I told the owner boy, I wish
you went to him later. And then I repeated that
to the media because I don't know if it's gonna
(40:56):
get out. Maybe John Morris has things I don't know. No,
come on, man, just own it. You wanted to say it,
you did own it. Yeah, he could have called Jerry
Jones if you wanted to make sure it really got out.
But in this case, you got a defensive player for
me need some I found out you gotta we gotta
cover the pass too, instead of rushing the passer. What's
the old line.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
It's the it's better to be perceived a fool than
open your mouth and allow it to be confirmed by
what you have to say, right, you know, it's it's
smarter than that. But all of that to say with
John Payton will always at least I have have had
the idea of him bounty Gate being part of things
that you know, there's a bit of pettiness, uh every
(41:33):
once in a while, the temper tantrums. And when we
saw that on full display as he stormed down the
field to get that penalty. Uh, and here you kind
of a jerk and you confirmed it. I mean, really,
I'll here's own stuff that own stuff like that you went,
you went celebrate bon Nicks and you went, you went
to the wall to make sure people knew that right,
(41:54):
it's nuts.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
I said it. It'd slipped out and Russ is done.
There's no there's nothing to that anymore. If you like
embarrassing NFL stories, then boy, do we have one for
you coming out next right here, Jason and Mike Fox

(42:37):
In the NBA right now, san Antonio still leads Dallas
by eleven seventy one to sixty seven and a half
to go in the third quarter, Cooper Flagg finally gets
on the boardst NBA points. However, Wemby now with twenty
seven and ten. He is plus eighteen for the game.
This up by twelve midway through the third quarter, so
(43:02):
a lot more basketball on the way. But joining us
now on the hotline for all the crazy, fun and
bizarre NFL news drops in the last twenty four hours.
He has a longtime NFL insider. You can check him
out on the thirty third team. He is a Hall
of Very Good voter. He is Jason Cole, Jake Cole.
(43:23):
What's up ud?
Speaker 4 (43:27):
The big news of today. Okay, Cayli Manning and Peyton
Manning have been fired as coaches of the.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
They had a good run here.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
I thought you were going to say that you whittled
down that list of fifty two.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
I thought you were going to say they've been they've
been fired at producers of Chad Powers.
Speaker 4 (43:52):
That's that too. I've not seen Chad Powers, but they're good.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
I gotta say it works. It's really funny. I'm stuck
and you know, the only guy who's not funny, and
Steve's on but he plays the character. He's more of
the straight guy, but straight. But this show is really funny.
I can't get over how good guys.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
Okay, give it a try. I saw Dan Wetzel recommended
he went in with low expectations and with his fleas,
so he he generally has fairly good taste. So I'll
go with that lot.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
Like me with every Jets season, I go in with
low expectations. In that way, I'm never really disappointed.
Speaker 4 (44:31):
You know. That's a beautiful thing. And yeah, what are you?
You're three and sixteen inspiring Robert Salah. Yeah, that's gone.
Well that's if you've combined the Raiders, the Jets and
the Dolphins, would you be able to beat the Lions?
Speaker 1 (44:51):
Okay, hang on, well we still don't have a quarterback.
Do they get to jump on each other's back? So
we're this we'd have Genty and bris Hall and and
a Hn in the backfield, So okay, we got guys
that can run it. We probably enough offensive line.
Speaker 4 (45:06):
You got Garrett, you got Garrett Wilson and and Myers.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
He would be happy to not be just on the Raiders.
So you still saying trade me like you would have.
Speaker 4 (45:19):
You got Bower.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Sure, I'm sure, but yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
I think And here's the thing about that, even with
that combination, the Lions are still better at every spot.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
That's right, And there's nobody to throw them the football.
Speaker 4 (45:33):
Like you know.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
The thing is yesterday with the Jets and Woody Johnson.
It was so embarrassing, but it was needed, and it
was harsh and it was ridiculous. It was everything that
goes into Jets with Woody Johnson, you know, throwing justin
Field under the bus, saying if we could complete a pass,
that would be nice. You can't win games with a
quarterback having that kind of rating. That completely tracks for
the Jets.
Speaker 4 (45:54):
You can't win a lot of games when you have
an owner who's that bad. Yeah, that's true. That that
tracks even more. And let's look at Mark Davis as well.
I mean, as I was saying on Twitter, I think
either earlier day or yesterday, the most important guy in
any organization is the owner. If you want to be competitive,
(46:19):
look at the owner. You've now had what twenty six
years of Woody? Is that right? Twenty five years of
Woody twenty six Yep, that's what it is. Yeah, the owner.
Look doub blame dumb, blame justin Field, gumb point fingers,
you know.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
Jake J. Cole. They've been playing since the beginning of September.
The Knicks had one game. The Knicks had one game tonight.
They already have more wins than the Jets.
Speaker 4 (46:43):
Sure, this is how sad New York football is right now.
Gattaboo got it? Gataboo get like a standing o at
the garden today, right like.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
Yeah, but I mean long term, they're okay with Darton Scataboo,
I think they're okay.
Speaker 4 (46:59):
That's all right there, They're okay whatever, we'll we'll see
what they are.
Speaker 1 (47:04):
They're at least entertaining j Cole and not because we're
laughing at them.
Speaker 4 (47:08):
Right, that is true, I get that. But Skataboo just like,
who is that big running back that Cleveland had a
bunch of years ago.
Speaker 1 (47:18):
Peyton hillis yeah, Peyton.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
Hillis yeah, Like scatboy, Like, if you rearrange the letters
in Scataboo, I think you get you're eventually going to
get Peyton hillis wow.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
Cover a Madden let's go all right? So so there
you go. Because the Jets are too low hanging fruit,
what what do you make of? What do you make
of ta saying today he didn't throw it to Jayleen
Waddle because he couldn't see him downfield, because he's not
the tallest guy, what do you what do you? What
are you making that from? Today?
Speaker 4 (47:52):
Lord? Yeah, Like there's some stuff where you just go like,
come on, dude, like even playing with the new curve
with three years now four years and and this is
the excuse you're going to use this this this is
the week that you get. I mean, come on, Well,
(48:15):
it's such a train wreck there. That's low hanging for
two guys. But it's new.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
The Jets is one of the yeah, we know, and
it's it's like the Simpsons, Jeff of stop stop, he's
already dead, Like, okay, it's enough with the Jets, right,
this is new.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
I thought I thought the more interesting news today was
that they're going to hold the Pro Bowl in a ballroom,
Like I really I thought that was actually more interesting
to me than any of the stupidity coming from Tua
or Woody or you know, uh Ian Rappaport trying to
sell that you know that you know Steven Ross, you
(48:53):
know he only has a warm place in his heart
for McDaniel and that could save McDaniel and and uh
in Miami. Like it's like this, there's so much idiocy
going on right now.
Speaker 1 (49:08):
You don't like, do you like the Cowboys going out
for an impact defensive player. Come on, man, the headline's
right itself, showing Peyton hating on Russell Wilson even more
after last time.
Speaker 4 (49:17):
Or but yeah, but if we got to those, that
would be interesting. The two one is the TUA one's
just dumb, okay, because you just look at that and
you go and you just go, that's the explanation you
came up with that, you actually thought of that, you
thought of that before you got to the podium to
(49:39):
answer questions. That was the answer you came up with.
And that's where you just sit there and go, man,
you're so lost. You're you're so done in this league,
and you'll get another chance with somebody, and you'll go
play twelve games, you know, for another team and probably
put up you know, thirty five hundred yards twenty one
(50:00):
touchdowns and people will think, Okay, that's really cool. You
missed the other five games because of the inevitable injuries
that you have, because that's just who you are, and
you know you'll probably play out another three or four
more years in the NFL before you're done. And that's
that's my conclusion with to it, Like it's just you know, like,
(50:22):
I'm done, let's move on. The Russell Wilson thing.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
Is, that's next level stuff right there, all.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
Right, Like the Russell Wilson thing is is finally we
got something honest out of Russell Wilson, like we got
something negative we didn't get. We didn't get something where
he shows his words carefully. He actually took on somebody.
(50:50):
And good for him that he actually took Not that
I think it means much, but good for him that
he actually took on John Dayton a little bit. Come on,
Tuck Well, Sean. Look, it's a cheap shot on Peyton's part.
He didn't need to do that because it makes him
look small. It's smaller than Russell, which is tough, and
(51:19):
it's unnecessary for a guy who you know, try, tried, tried,
You found out he couldn't play, You found out he
was done. You move on. There's no reason to trash
a guy in the way out, even if you don't
like him and you personally have some problems with him
and you think that you know he's selfish, and you're
(51:40):
still pissed off that you're paying him off all this money,
and also other things that go with it, as you
you're trying to turn your team around. Look, you're in
first place. Why would you why why take a gratuda
shot at Russell to say, hey, we're getting ready for
Jackson dark I that one, that one, to me was
(52:02):
Peyton at his worst and he's had, you know, some
moments in his career when he's been a small guy
and it's unfortunate because he knows better. That's like, that's
the part to me, like when Peyton. Peyton will often
say something off the off the cuffs, and he'll be
really pleased with himself and then he goes, shun or
(52:22):
is he really mean that? And then he thinks about
it for a second. He goes, oh, yeah, that wasn't
really classy, wasn't. And you go to no, Sean, it
really wasn't. It wasn't and he and he'll just and
he'll like back off immediately and realize it was the
moment he called me. One time we ran some story
about Reggie Bush and the Heisman. I don't even remember
(52:45):
what it was, how he was going to lose his eyes,
and it was like the week of the season opening,
and he called me and he ripped me and he said, uh, oh,
you plotted this just to have it come out before
the season started. And he ran in and ran and
went on for like a minute and a half with
his rant, and I finally said, Sean, the news came out,
that's why I wrote it. He goes, oh, well, I
(53:10):
believe you. That's honesty. Okay, you back down that quickly,
like from your original point. You thought you thought enough
to call me and spend a minute and a half
ripping me up one side and down the other. And
I say, like full of words, and you're like, oh, okay,
(53:33):
you're being You're now being honest. Like again, I think
he says some things that come out of his mouth.
He thinks he's making some kind of really you know,
se point or doing something, and then he realized it
was kind of stupid.
Speaker 3 (53:48):
Would have been more fun if he'd even lost that game,
that would have been great. This guy he just send
this guy on me and picked you up the fifteen
yards and then green Law getting himself suspended all wonderful
things for the Broncos.
Speaker 4 (54:02):
That the Greenlaw thing is really special too. That really
is what is he thinking? Like, come on, man's not
supposed to do that. You're just not supposed to go
after the rest. Don't do that anyways, Move me along.
What else do we have? What are the fun stuff
we got? Well?
Speaker 1 (54:18):
Last thing? Okay? Is this okay? Your reaction? Because we
got to do it? I'm sure cowboy bes will.
Speaker 4 (54:24):
Be reactions being reduced to fifty two people.
Speaker 1 (54:27):
Yeah, no, no to Jerry Jones. To Jerry Jones saying that, hey,
the Cowboys are on the lookout for an impact defensive
player at the trade deadline.
Speaker 3 (54:41):
Exactly there it is. He doesn't need to say anything
that says giggle.
Speaker 1 (54:46):
Drop the mic, drop the mic. That's it. He's on
Twitter at Jackson Cole sixty two. That's Jason sixty two.
Speaker 4 (54:55):
Check out Macked Crosby. You had we got to first
round picks.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
I really would love if I could, If I could
find the number for the Cowboys, I would call Jerry
Jones's office and pretend to be the Packers and say, hey,
do you want to trade us for Michael Parsons.
Speaker 4 (55:19):
We'll take five picks.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
I got the floor on the phone. I didn't get
him back.
Speaker 4 (55:27):
Kevin Costner in Draft Day.
Speaker 1 (55:35):
Here goes Jason, call, Hey, that new young GM Scottie
Carson down there, in Jacksonville tackle trade away my first
round picks for all those second rounders is doing all that?
It would be very drafting. Now I'm calling back and
I'm getting, I'm getting. I'm answer the phone if we
can get Maca back, Sonny, be honest with me, what's
happening to answer that phone? That was my backup guy
(55:55):
got taken to. I don't know what to do. Backup
guy like he's in a fantasy league. Like I kind
of feel like that's kind of how the Cowboys do
the draft. Anyway, Oh, there goes our backup guy, Stephen Steven.
What do you have to Steve? What else we got?
That's as far as we got in our prep because
we figured he'd be there
