Speaker 2 (00:22):
Let's give this you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Hello, Welcome inside, Happy Halloween Eve, The Jason Smith Show
with my bass friend Mike Harmon. For over forty years,
tire 's been open. Customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Shipped fast and free backed
by free Road, has a protection with convenient installation options
like mobile tire installation. Tirerac dot com is the way
(00:53):
tire buying should be. Thursday night football every night, the
best time of the year. Every night, we jump right
into a game going on. It's hey. Due to time constraints,
we fast forward fourteen to six early in the third quarter.
The Ravens lead the Dolphins. Timing on the field right now,
and we'll get to Lamar Jackson a second. But this,
(01:14):
you know, I always say this about the Dolphins. I say,
this team makes no sense. You know, a little bit
over a year and five months ago at this maybe
a year and a half ago. At this time, they
were supposed to be the next great team in the NFL,
all their speed, Mike McDaniel was going to turn the
league on its ear. They had had a great year.
They played a playoff game in Kansas City when it
(01:35):
was minus fifty degrees and Mike McDaniel may have gotten frostbite.
Where it is you know those capri pants that I
wish it was colder? Yeah, I really I got other
clothes that I could wear. I think his brain is
still frozen, and it might be. It might be because
now you fast forward a year and a half later,
(01:56):
and now you're just wondering how many guys are going
to survive the purge TV Little Halloween. I see how
many guys are gonna survive the purge after this year?
Is McDaniel gonna survive it? Is Tua gonna survive it?
Are they gonna trade eight chen? But what are they
gonna do? A question? First off, if you got the
mini purge because the trade deadline being next week, maybe
maybe not in terms of Chubb and Phillips and a
(02:20):
number of players on the defense, which is actually played
quite well tonight for them. But yeah, it's it is
a very curious time from the ownership on down. Because
remember he was yelling at someone because his car was
parked too far on the tarmac because he had to
walk off a plane and walk an extra twenty feet.
He was berating some poor guy that was working at
(02:41):
the airport. So you know, all the way down it's
just a train wreck. And that's why tonight is the
perfect example of this game standing for the entire Dolphins
franchise because this is a first half in which the
Dolphins had the ball in the red zon four times.
They've rolled up nearly three hundred yards of total offense,
(03:05):
had four incomplete passes eight chen is over one hundred
yards of total offense. Miami has done whatever they want
to do offensively, and they're losing fourteen to six and
the Ravens are driving inside the Dolphins thirty yard line
to add to their lead. The Ravens moved the football
as much as they could, Lamar Jackson a couple of passes,
(03:25):
but this game stands for the question of just how
did the Dolphins get this bat. How is a game
like this where the Dolphins are not just losing, but
they could be two scores down and you look at
the numbers in the stats and what they've been able
to do in the first half. We're going up and
down the field. We are finding a way to do it.
And still here they are looking up at the scoreboard
and you're wondering, what just half of the Dolphins this
(03:47):
stands for their entire franchise. Yeah, you just had a
number of circumstances where the old a shot yourself in
the foot. Right, you had a big thirty six yard
pass played, probably the deepest ball that too was thrown
all year. Ice completion to Waddle that gets wiped out
as Wattle gets wiped out. That would have been on
the jacked up segment back of the day. Because you
(04:07):
get a tripping penalty on Gordon, which is gonna be
much reviewed because he's kind of falling. But by the
strict interpretation of the law, not the spirit but the
letter of the interpretation, and the spirit and the letter
and the figuring it out exactly all those words. But
they take it away, right, They take away a thirty
six yard game you had another circumstance where a guy
(04:31):
completes pass, fumble returned to the seven sets him up
at point blank range. That sets up the Ravens first touchdown.
Derreck Henry has a run of fourteen yards. Otherwise nothing right,
He's basically not even falling forward in his other nine
carries tonight, Like all these things play together, but the turnover.
They even had all the extra bonuses on the kickoffs, right,
(04:53):
big returns, those kickoffs and punts. I almost thought that
I was watching it and paying attention to this, that
perhaps it was the penalty that they were facing the
Ravens because of the bad injury report with Lamar Jackson. Okay,
you've got to give up chunks of yardage, ah, bad
special teams, play special teams, guy, horrball, you lose. But no,
(05:16):
all of that. You're waiting for the explosive this. But
it's like I watched the Bears against this Ravens team
last week in Baltimore. What happened first quarter? A couple
of great drives, field goals. Kicking field goals is losing football? Yeah, yeah,
field goals, you guys would know. I hate nobody knows
losing football like the two of us. Nobody I know.
(05:36):
I'm the expert. I'm losing football. I'm like no bad football.
I'm like the I'm like the the Fanos of bad football.
Harmon's like the ebony Maw of bad football. Oh I
like him. Yeah, because I've seen I'll take it from me.
You're more the Einstein of bad football. Okay, okay, and
you could be the Edison of bad football. I'll be Einstein.
You be Edison because you have seen tons of bad football.
(05:58):
You just haven't seen as much bad football as I have. Well,
you got me in the age a little bit. I'm
catching up though.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Well it doesn't. Well, I got because I've also had expectations,
probably more years than you have. Yeah okay, well you
see in terms of awaye yeah, it would be more.
But the thing is it doesn't matter. Like I'm three
years older than you, but I could be twenty years
older than you. I could be ten years younger than you.
I would still have seen worse football and more bad
football than you. Well, but now you're the worst team
(06:26):
in the AFC East again, even though you're coming off
a win. Yeah. Yeah, this Dolphins team's actually looked pretty good.
The last couple of weeks. Now, so they're down fourteen
to six and it's about to be worse. But all
in like, that first half was fantastic. Another touchdown pass
for Lamar Jackson, his third of the night on first
and goal, Charlie Kohlar with a touchdown either. He does
(06:48):
nothing but throw touchdowns, short touchdowns of tight ends. That's
what he does. He got two to Andrews and now
Charlie Kolar and now look, Ozzie Newsom is suiting up
to come down and play in this nextico so we
can get a pass. He's three time All Big twelve
Honoree twenty twenty Mackie Award finalists for the cyclone. How
much do you guys want to be?
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Right there?
Speaker 1 (07:07):
That he thought that was Mark Andrews. Oh probably he
wanted to give my hat trick. Oh hey, all right, hey,
we scored, all right, die, we did it. What has
been funny, though, and well not funny for him, is
that Ricard has been getting absolutely worked over the course
of the night, right just getting run over. But he's
impeding guys just enough for Lamar to get the bum.
So he's doing his job, but not gracefully. Now here's
(07:29):
the thing about the Ravens. Okay, here's Lamar Jackson's bad stink.
Hang on, because I'm gonna confound you. I'm gonna give
you a confound you with my great Halloween confounding take
on the Ravens and Lamar Jackson. Okay, all the big
talk coming into this game was here are the Ravens.
They're coming back. They're a playoff team. Roch the Ravens.
(07:52):
Here they come. They're gonna run the table because they
are the favorite in the division. Nothing's easier to say
than we're gonna run the table because you know, it's
not about twelve teen weeks worth of work. It's just
I'm gonna say it and run it. Running the table
never happens. Not never happens. You don't run the table.
No one run the table. But I'm gonna say this,
(08:13):
the Ravens can win the division. They can, but I'm
not believing in them as a playoff team. You mean
as as a playoff team, like they can get no, no, no, no,
I know they can't even get no. They're a player.
They can win the division, yes, but they're not a
playoff team. Okay, you know I can say this. Why
can you say that because the entire division stinks and
(08:33):
no one should be allowed to be in the playoffs. Wow,
they should just say, hey, sorry, it's a really bad
year for it's here in the AFC North. We're gonna
give our spot to somebody else a little bit more deserving.
Every team in that division stinks saying they can make
it and they can be on the schedule, but then
just say, I bequeath this to somebody else. And they
(08:53):
don't get the letter from Roger Goodell that welcomes them
to the playoffs. Wow, they don't get that. I gets it.
Edible arrangement kind of thing coming in. Congratulations. We'll get
that letter out to you. Maybe we won't. I don't
know you. But don't we have a game this weekend?
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
See, here's the thing, boy, the AFC West is really tough.
We want to let all three of those teams in.
I mean not the Raiders obviously, but we're gonna let
those guys in, and and you're all gonna stay. What's
the letter actually say? Quote the Raven nevermore and let's
let that dot And let's be honest. If you're be
honest with me, do you really think you deserve to
be in the playoffs. Do you really think one of
those teams and that craptastic AFC North deserves to be
(09:30):
in the playoffs? The answer is no. There you go
until you can just stit it out. But they're not
a playoff team. But there's way we get back into
the age old argument because they do all the scheduling
based on divisions and everything else. So uh, until we
eradicate that and just make them super conferences like college
football is eventually getting to, Uh, then we still have this.
(09:52):
You're gonna get your occasional seven and nine, you're eight,
eight and ones. Bring me your nine and eight teams,
because with the right matchup, they could still run the table.
What the statue of liberty? Bring me your nine and
eight teams, Bring me your teams that had a tie
at the end of the seats. You can bring me
your miserable, down trodden squads that missed their quarterback for
a month at a time and they can come back.
(10:13):
But don't bring me those Jets. Leave the Jets out.
You bring me the Jets. We're not having this conclave
them and leave them out of this. But yeah, it's
it is a curiosity because coming into the day they
are the favorite to win the division. And as you say,
all it means is everybody else stepped back. This is
this is like that when you see in TV shows
(10:34):
when everybody's standing in one line and they go, okay,
whoever would like to volunteer for this, take one step forward,
and everybody but one person takes one step back and
they go, thank you for volunteering. What what do you mean,
I didn't do anything. You are no tribute for this
district and now here comes and now here comes the
movie you volunteered. Uh, that's kind of what this is.
With the playoffs. Again, they can win the division, not
(10:55):
a playoff team. Yeah, this is why I like again
that Alie Gordon is going to be looked at a
million times because he came off he was fighting with
his coach and fighting with everybody else like I fell. Yeah,
then he got hurt and then yeah, it's a lot
of stuff, bad stuff. But you know, Devon Chan, hopefully
you played him in fantasy because you got that his
(11:15):
extra five points off the PPR. As he's lining up
in the slot and they're trying to utilize him more effectively.
Again realizing you've got to generate offense from the pop
gun arm of TUA wherever you can. I would really
respect if John Harbaugh or Mike Tomlin or Zach Taylor,
I would really respect if at the end of the
(11:38):
year sect Jake Browning's quarterback again, I would know they're
playing the Bears, so I would never know ever can
tell I would really respect at the end of the year.
They get through seventeen weeks and they had the post
a game press conference, and everybody wants to know, Hey,
division champion. Obviously with the horrible record you're playing the
(12:00):
first week, how do you feel about this great Charger
team or the Chiefs team coming into play and that
whether it's Tomlin or Harbaugh, And they say, you know,
I'll let you guys know right now, we're declining this invitation.
We really don't feel that we put the body of
work out there to be a playoff team. And I
(12:21):
don't want my guys to read and hear all week
how it's ridiculous that they're in and and this doesn't
make any sense, and why aren't the better teams in
and and uh, I don't need my guys don't even
see that. So we're gonna can't that be used as
fuel to spur them to greater heights now, because if
because if we could use it as we would have
had a better year. We would have won more games.
We just couldn't. We would have had that, whether we
(12:42):
saw it from our beat writers in week eight, we
can only win seven games. If we were good, we
would have won more. This is it's it's it's we're
a stain on the NFL. This is this entire division.
That last pass attempt from Tua was a stain. We
are giving this away. We're giving this to a to
a to a more deserving team. Congratulations to the Jaguars
(13:03):
who made their way through the South at nine and eight,
or to the Chiefs who dragged their way into the playoffs, whatever,
whatever it's going to be. You know the Bills, because
you know, the New England plays absolutely nobody easiest schedule
in the NFL. So another or just say, you know
what we hear about that team in the NFC that
really they deserve to get in they really they fought. Yeah,
we want to give this to the Bears. We really
(13:25):
want to see the Bears get in here. So we're
going to give up our spot. And again, if you
look at our division, you understand nobody should feel good
taking this because we all stink. I've had about six
one liners go through my brain. All of them would
end up being don't be taking it to the third rail.
Don't be doing that, because that's what you sound like
right now. Come on, just because the divisions are perhaps
(13:47):
antiquated in the way of doing business and setting up schedules,
until they eradicate them, you succeed and proceed, and then
your coach can say, we made the playoffs. Okay, should
you have been there? No, you've used the word eradicate
it twice in the last five minutes. You have that
you have a ten minute moratorium on eradicating I know
I'm using it because I eradicate you. Yeah, well, yeah,
(14:08):

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon, Stop the Fight, Happy Halloween Eve and
Lamar Jackson and I'm a very big Happy Halloween Eve.
We'll get to that in a second. Pretty scary now,
I do want to say this right because a few
minutes ago Mary brought back the Ghostbusters theme. Yeah, for
a few minutes there, that was kind of fun and yes,
(16:36):
a scary movie. It's a comedy. It's about ghosts and
about busting ghosts. So yeah, okay, gets play around Halloween.
I don't know that There's a movie that I saw
when I was a kid and then watch it again
years later as an adult, and I said to myself,
this movie is not funny at all, like Ghostbusters is slow.
(17:01):
It doesn't stand And part of it is maybe because
I know so much of the punchlines. But the punchlines
he slimed me. That doesn't stand up. It's a lot
of stuff, doesn't it. But it's not. It's not a
thing without the visual. Like it doesn't stand up in
like we've been running all the other lines that we
do from movies and TV, like they live without the
visual in your head. It's the slime. It's it's because he,
(17:25):
you know, look like he's uh a lying in filth.
Ghostbusters was such a huge hit and it's still got
staying power now they're they're revamping it and rebooting it
every few years. But I mean it, go back and
watch and you're gonna get forty five minutes in and
you're gonna go, wow, I am really bored. It does not.
The best part, honestly, is Rick moranis and I you
(17:47):
talk about a hot take the best part of ghost
because he's he comes into the movie, yes, and he's hysterical,
but he's a really bad person. He keeps bringing people
into his party. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, what happened? Yeah.
I mean he's not as bad as Dumbledore waiting for
from Willie walkin the Chocolate Factory, but he is pretty evil.
(18:09):
What do you order like Plotters of Locks?
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (18:15):
He he gets in the movie and all of a sudden,
it's like, oh my goodness, dude, like there was they
used a CPR machine on this movie. Suddenly now it's fun.
He's the funniest part of the movie. But it's him,
it's Annie Potts, and it's you know, whatever you do
with Sigourney Annie Potts is somewhat fun. And I like
the match the matching of Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver
is really really like you could have gone completely over
the top with the anti Potts character, which you didn't do. Guy,
(18:37):
Like what you would answer the phone say, gust Bastas,
gous bastas, I just brought you back home. Go back
and watch Ghosts. But you're gonna say, wow, this movie
does not stand. I have not revisited a long long time.
You know what you'll do, You'll revisit the first forty
five minutes and you're gonna say, wow, I'm sorry. I
fell asleep three times. I can tell you this though,
For the first time, I saw a cover of the
(18:58):
Ghostbusters theme song that I never knew existed really by
who Bruce Springsteen opened a concert when he was playing
a concert on Halloween night. Ghost with Ghosts. Yeah, all
the time, but it was just kind of funny. No
bust you and the young girls? Ghostbusters? Yeah, what's that?
(19:21):
If you want to go back and watch it, need
a VCR. Yeah, no, it's on. You could get you
get and played just why it was just on a
few weeks ago. I'll tell you Ghostbusters. Trust me, you're
gonna go and you go wow. Jason was right. Listen.
You may not like some of my sports takes. You
may not like so I am never gonna steer you
wrong on movies, TV and food. Those three things forgot you.
(19:43):
May you may love some of my sports I mean,
I may still disagree with you, but I know in
your heart of heart it is not hot take nonsense
for the sake of click click. If you just open
up yourself to what I tell you about TV shows
and movies and food, you're gonna say, I'm having a
great life and you told me not to. Why he's
save me forty five minutes to an hour of my life?
Why because I stopped rewatching Ghostbusters after the first forty
(20:05):
five minutes. But that I don't know, I'm gona do
it all this time. I'll go buy a doughnut. That's
what you go do. I've given you, I've given you
more life. There you go, Wow, the gift of light now.
And also you have to watch the first forty five
minutes to realize I'm right. So you could just believe
me right now and now, and then then you have
like two hours of your life to go. Hey, so
this was really a faith based You gotta have faith
(20:26):
in me? Yeah, in my because I really thought you
were gonna you went a completely different direction. I really
thought you were gonna go down the movie I saw
as a kid. That still freaks me the hell out. Yeah,
that's where I thought you were. Now you just went
with a big line. You went, you have to have faith. Now.
That's the big line from Fright Night, the original Fright
That's good one awesome still stands up side good movie,
still one of the most underrated horror movies of all time? Agree, Well,
(20:49):
comes question fright night? Yeah you ready? Yeah, yeah, Prostberg.
What's more scary? Yeah, Ghostbusters or throwing the football? Oh
to a throwing the f That third down pass the
last possession is really something special. Like I said, Ghostbusters
is boring and you really see the punchlines coming to it.
You have no idea what he's doing. Oh, you have
no idea what they're doing with the receivers.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
No, they know.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
And that's the problem. Is three three to five yards
behind the guy. Maybe I get it, Maybe I don't.
Han's not looking up towards said to run towards, you know,
then the other end zone, he's looking back towards his
because the throw is perennially behind him. Look, here's another
big epic fail for the Dolphins. Yeah, okay, So what's today?
Today's the day before Halloween, right day before Halloween. Yeah,
(21:33):
what's the big color for Halloween? Orange?
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Right?
Speaker 1 (21:36):
What's one of the main colors of the Dolphins uniforms?
Are you saying there should be a orange? How are
they not wearing all orange uniforms on Halloween?
Speaker 3 (21:45):
You?
Speaker 1 (21:45):
How do you know? Hey, we're playing everybody knows the schedule. Hey,
the day before Halloween, we're playing, how are they not working?
All have fun with it and they say, hey, it's
a lights out game, so you're wearing at least when
you're losing twenty eight to six. People will say you
look good while you're losing. And said, just yeah, I
don't know. I losing in style is a good thing.
The Dolphins wouldn't be scary if they played in the
(22:05):
scarface map. Say hello to Jalen Waddle, But I said,
I said, the video of all the people you know,
associated with the team walking out and Halloween, you know,
skeletons or whatever. And now they're showing the dissatisfied crowd
one after another. You read lips. I can't say what
they're saying on aero winds because we will lose our
(22:28):
FCC like a bunch of poop mouse. There's a lot
going on there. So what is happening to the Miami Dolphins. Well,
Lamar Jackson is happening right now to the Miami Dolphins,
And of course you know Labar is going to be
the play of the day. Brought to you by tire Rack.
For over forty years, Tirerac's been helping customers find the
right tires for how, what and where they drive, shipped
fast and free, backed by free road hazard protection with
(22:51):
convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tirerack dot Com
is the way tire buying should be well, not one,
not two, not three. He may get four touchdowns for
Lamar Jackson in return from injury. He is your play
of the day and down in seven passest by who
(23:11):
store another touchdown? Andrews has two, Charlie Kohler has one.
Rashad Bateman catching the most recent touchdown about five minutes ago,
making a twenty eight to six lead for the Ravens
late in the third quarter. Al Michael's on Prime and
Al Michaels is saying, yeah, this is back when we
first took over, getting all those craptastic games I Ravens
(23:34):
Dolphins on a Thursday nightg thanks. Now, there were some
expectation you at least had the return of Lamar Jackson right.
There might have been a minute where he was like, Wow,
I'm prepping for Tua and the train wreck that is
Miami and Snoop Huntley coming off a big win against
the Bears. Don't get me wrong, but certainly at least
got the gift when they said no, no, no, we didn't
(23:54):
mean to obfuscate the injury rules. Lamar. Really, really, they
had a setback. All right, Well, here we are four
touchdown passes for Bateman. It's good that he got in
the plus side, because I'm sure he was gonna hear
about it from the coaches for his tirade earlier when
he was crying for a flag that didn't come and
got penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct deep in their own territory
(24:17):
to where they had to then punt from their own
end zone. But for Lamar spreading the ball around, they're
not running the ball particularly well. He's only had two scrambles,
one for thirteen and then Derrick Henry that one big run.
He's only got forty one yards. But I think the
one thing we could say about the Dolphins, and we
could say thank you to this. There are only two
and a half minutes remaining in the third. Yeah, it
(24:39):
is only seven to thirty West Coast time, so they
are losing horribly, but quickly. Again, if you're gonna lose,
lose early, lose big. So I cannot the rest of
the day from spectacularly and leave no doubt it's all good.
We got more coming up in ninety seconds, including a
big story out of the look ahead to Game six
(25:01):
of the World Series. But night now, right now, let's
try to find out what's trending in the wide world
of sports from someone who is coming up with what
could be the greatest Halloween costume known to mankind. It's
Monty Belanos. It's not gonna be that great. I have
thirty six hours to put it together. It's gonna be
pretty good. Nobody needs sleep.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
You're right, I don't even know what it's gonna be.
We're still we're still brainstorming.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
Okay, I got idea for no none minus like six
hours for the Dodger game the morning. Okay, I got
an idea for you. Can you hit a baseball? Of
course I can hit a baseball. Then you can't go
as the Dodgers Dodger wrench and drop the Wow. I've
had that. I've had that one of my holster for
the last half hours. Wow, she's gonna come and it'll
(25:43):
beat you up. Yeah, I could go four for fifty.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
You're right, like Andy Pa has I probably go five
for fifty, just walk.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Around in a Dodger uniform, dropping things, just drive everything
you go to grab your swinging you're missing, Yeah, I
do that.
Speaker 5 (25:55):
Hold on a second. Yeah, that's that's gonna be option seat.
Like if I can't get options eight and that's an auction.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
See you swing your arms and your helmet comes off.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Just yeah, just a hot mess.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah, that hot mess is a Dodger perfect. There you go.
Speaker 5 (26:08):
That's going to be That'll be planned.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Cright, we'll put that there. Yeah, guys.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Thursday night football kicking off Week nine of the NFL.
As you guys just talked about, it's been all Ravens
so far. There was a terrible tripping call against Miami
in the first half that couldn't have changed things. Probably not,
but the Ravens are up twenty eight to six about
two minutes to go in the third quarter of this wee.
Lamar Jackson is seventeen of twenty one, one hundred and
eighty four yards and four touchdowns. As you guys just mentioned,
(26:33):
Tuatagobailoa has not thrown a touchdown pass. He is sixteen
of twenty six for one hundred and sixty nine yards.
Other NFL news, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. He's going to
start Monday night against the Cowboys. He's returning from a
foot injury that has cost him two games. Texans wide
receiver Nico Collins says cleared concussion protocol. He's set to
start Sunday against the Broncos. In college football, Nebraska has
(26:53):
given head football coach Matt Ruled a two year contract
extension that goes through twenty twenty thirty two. ESPN reports
of the Bayou on Rules deal is fifteen million if
he leaves after this season, which seems really low in
comparison to other buyouts. Texas quarterback Arch Manning practice today,
but he's still in concussion protocol. The twentieth rank Longhorns
host number nine Vanderbilt on Saturday. In the NBA, it's
(27:16):
been a close one between the Heat and the Spurs
right now. San Antonio is up eighty eight to eighty
five with about eight minutes to go in the game.
Victor I Binyama twenty one points, seventeen rebounds and three blocks.
Polo Bancaro just shy have a triple double twenty points,
nine rebounds, nine assists. Is The Magic defeated the Hornets
one twenty three to one oh seven. Ryan Rollins for
the Bucks thirty two points as the Bucks defeated the
(27:39):
Warriors just now one twenty to one ten. While the
Thunder are still perfect six to oh they are still undefeated.
They took down the Wizards one twenty seven to one
oh eight. Shake Gildas Alexander thirty one points in the win.
When it comes to the NHL, that connects in the
Blues right now are tied at three apiece with about
ninety seconds to go in the third period. Penguins over
(27:59):
the Why I held for to one two minutes left
in that one of the third period and the Jets
just defeated the black Hawks six to three. Je it's
doing some big Yeah the Sharks right now, but the Devil's.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
If you said New York, you said the Jets beat
Chicago sixty three, people would go yeah that tracks Kayleb
Williams probably had.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
A bad game, especially after what we saw the Bears
just do. When I was like, I thought you would
beat the Ravens with that Lamar Jackson right after winning
four in a row.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Both Jets field goals to be set up by interceptions
of fumbles. Oh to be a turnover, it would be
special teams, special teams. Yeah, that was a da I
told you, I told you all about my squad. I
told you it was comed disappointing. I thought they were
going to get five in a row. Back to you guys,
Thank you very much. Mom. Yes, so speaking of the
next game of the World Series, and I say the
(28:46):
next game because I was extremely surprised about this today.
All the talk that Dave Roberts has had going into
hey they're down three to two. We got Game six
of the World Series tomorrow. Trying to stay alive. All
the talk today has been about whatever show heo. Tani's
Role's going to be in game seven? All right, Hey,
(29:07):
what could happen? Dave Roberts said, lots of things are
on the table. We could use him as an opener,
we could potend because then they don't lose a spot
in the lineup. If the use him as an opener,
he stays in the game as a DH because the
rules were changed, potentially as a reliever, but then we
would have to lose. So there's a lot of things
in play for Otani for Game seven. He said he
was going to talk with Otani about it. Later on Thursday,
we're going to pick up the pieces to see the
(29:28):
best way to attack a potential Game seven. Everything should
be on the table. It will be for sure. Hang
on a second. Did I miss a game and the
game is tie and the series is tied at three apiece?
Did I miss a game? Are we going right to
Did I min it because of the crazy schedule with
Freddie Freeman's home run? Did they move game time? Did
I miss a game where the Dodgers won in Toronto?
And might that Game seven? Did I miss that? If
(29:50):
I miss that, tell me what happened? Because I really
won't go back to Earth okay, because I really thought
we were going into Game six tomorrow and the Dodgers
and Dave Roberts is spending all this time talking about
Game seven like it's time. I'm sorry, But the Dodgers,
the entire World Series has been a Hey, we're not
gonna panic. Everything is fine. We're gonna be able to
(30:11):
be able to figure our way out of this. We're
gonna hit, We're gonna fit. I understand. I understand. The
team that's been in the World Series, it's won, They're
there every year, they won last year. We know how
to win a World series. We understand, okay, you do,
but you also need to understand that you guys are
absolutely floundering right now. You have been awful. You have
(30:32):
not hit the entire playoff. You need a little bit
more sense of urgency. Then well, hey we get to
game selp. We got a lot of things on the
table for game seven. Why are you even talking about
game seven? Now? That this doesn't come up? And I'm
sure with your coaches there's been the conversation of hey,
we get to game seven, what are you thinking? Do
you use otani? Because that would get into your strategy
for relievers in game six. I get that that's part
(30:52):
of it. Why are you talking about game seven? Why
is it every question being hey, what will you do it?
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Guys, we got game six tomorrow, gases tomorroworried about We'll
figure it out tomorrow. Yamamoto's our guy. We're going X, Y,
and Z tomorrow. Game six. I know you want to
have guys, Game six is tomorrow. That should be the
message out there. I see this from Dave Roberts and
the Dodgers, and I go, do they really understand the
trouble they're in? They really you understand the trouble I've seen.
Did they understand? They really get that? They have been
(31:20):
absolutely abysmal, and they gave away two games being incredibly flat,
allowing a rookie pitcher to run over them like he's
Nolan Ryan. This is what's happened to the Dodgers since
the Freddie Freeman home run, Almost as if the Dodgers felt, man,
they're not gonna come back on it. Why are they
not rolling over? They should be rolling over on I
don't know why the Bluees aren't rolling over. We beat
them in eighteen innings. They should be rolling over on us.
(31:42):
They're in a lot of trouble. A little bit more
sense of urgency, a little bit more of that out
of the Dodgers, and clearly the optic of yeah, let's
talk about game seven, dude, you may not even get
to Game seven. Man, what are you doing this for?
I see this from Dave Roberts, and I said, I
don't the Dodgers need someone to show up in that
locker room and go, hey, guys, get your heads out
of here. You know what, Okay, one more game and
(32:04):
you've given away this season. You're terrible bets. You're awful show. Hey,
take those two games away. You've been terrible. Freddy okay,
great home run, Freddy okay. But other guys, Tay Oscar,
you can't field at all everything you Why is it
for every one good thing you do for the Dodgers,
it's two bad things. You guys got to get your
heads out of your what's and get ready to play.
They need some kind of motivational Tony Robbins magic, stop
(32:27):
this stuff going on?
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Right?
Speaker 1 (32:28):
No, walk across the coles. No, never mind, you had Roberts,
And part of it was it's more than just kind
of doing whatever we can to get through tomorrow. And
then we pick up the pieces and then you can
play pick up the Pieces one of those great songs.
But all that's saying, I'd rather do fall the Pieces
because that's a better song. No, no, no, the there's
(32:51):
no question but the horns to pick up the pieces.
Bit it it it, bit it, come on, I mean it,
it just gets the crowd fired up. Man say that,
I just think a letter. I think Kirby your well,
I mean that's kind of what we're watching with this
clown show here. But I mean, who could be the
lead Tasso made oral Herscheizer, has he ever done anything
mean other than being mad at you? No, Sandy Kopex.
(33:14):
They just put a super cut of him grimacing, as
they did during the last couple of World Series games.
Perhaps that would be enough and effective enough to get
you over the top, but certainly there's a need for
some more. I mean, Dave's trying to be nice. Now's
the time to not be nice, you know, like we're
in Roadhouse. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe Dave is a
(33:35):
guy standing there When the other guys want to fight
and they look in. Patrick Swayzy just shakes his head.
Not yet, yeah, wait for it. Not until Jeff Heally
plays Angelize. That's when we fight. The man's name is
Dalton Exit O about a Fresco exit swollen down the

(34:41):
NFL and TNF coming up in about fifteen minutes. Lamar
Jackson picking up right where you left off. The Ravens
defense not so much, but uh here we are getting
set for Halloween. Happy Halloween Eve. And uh there are
three surprise teams that are undefeated in the NBA this season,
(35:04):
one of them in action right now. The Spurs six
point lead over the Heat with about three and a
half left to go. But we have three surprise teams undefeated.
Nobody I think a surprise. Oklahoma City is six and
oh they detending champs. They're that good? Come on, I
thought there was supposed to be uh, you know a
Hayes a malaise. A Hey, there's no sense of urgency?
Are they just that much better? San Antonio four? And
(35:26):
oh I'm the cusp of being five. And oh Philadelphia
is four, and oh the Bulls are four? And oh
yeah they are so level of belief on these three?
Are these three teams? Which of them are for real?
Which of them aren't? Let's deal with the Spurs first,
because remember, I don't like to say this. I don't
like three. You know, you know me. I don't like
to remind people when I say things. But I said, hey,
(35:49):
you're looking for your dark horse NBA Finals team in
the Western Conference, San Antonio Spurs, because at some point
this season, Wenby's going to become the best in the league.
They have a great young roster, and this is a
team that suddenly shake well and here they are. It
happened a lot faster. Maybe some of this happened when
(36:09):
you weren't looking. But Victor wembin Yama has become the
best player in the NBA Tonight twenty four, seventeen and
six so far midway through the fourth quarter. Let's not
complicate things. When a guy is that good, then you
have a guy and you you have the best player,
or if someone wants to still stand up and say,
I still think it's jonnas Okay. Wenby is at the
very very top of that list. It's not a surprise
(36:31):
that his team is undefeated, so this shouldn't really be
a surprise. I think it's a surprise that people were
discounting the Spurs for so long that they're gonna need
some time. They're young women's need some time to grow
into it. No, Wemby has become the best player in
the NBA. Let's not make things too complicated. Spurs a
line too Spurs are for real that we could talk
to Luke Well, he might not even be the best
player on his own team. Austin Reeves might be better.
(36:53):
Don't do that. He already did the Jordan's yesterday. I
take Yeah, I've had a couple of techs about that promo. Wait,
what the hell is it?
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Like?
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Hey, we're gonna trade on We're gonna trade Luca now
often trade and Austin Reeves is now getting a statue
he could trade Luca for Cooper flat Miko Harrison will
do that? Why not after a week? Absolutely? Yeah, But
the Spurs twenty five to one. Now people moving because
they're realizing a lot of these other teams are not good. Now,
you take advantage of what's on the schedule and you
(37:25):
you know, you beat a couple of also rans, and
that's fine. But for when min Yama, I think it
was right perhaps to wonder aloud a little bit how
how quickly he'd be back to supreme level like he
was his rookie year, because last year, look, those were
no small small issues that kept him off the court, right,
(37:45):
So it becomes a does he get pushed back in
at fifteen to twenty minutes a game or is it
full board? Well, you got him full on right and
doing ridiculous things, putting up crazy numbers. So yeah, that
you're starting to see that movement. And I think as
the NBA as a whole, and even though we've got
a short sample size, there's a lot of teams with
warts that are pretty obvious. Oh one hundred percent, there's
(38:09):
what but but either way, But I can't you can't
take that away from the Spurs. Hey, do you have
the best player?
Speaker 3 (38:15):
You are?
Speaker 1 (38:16):
What you are, what your record says you are, right?
Fifty to one down to twenty five to one right now,
the Chicago Bulls. Here's where I'm gonna stun you, and
you're gonna be mad at me. Well, you got excited
about the Bears. I can't wait to hear the Bulls.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Four and zero.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Bulls are for real. Okay, just watch the Bulls and
I you know, it feels like, well, they didn't really
make a lot of moves. They didn't really do anything
different in the offseason. It's kind of some of the
same guys. Yeah, except watch the pace they play at. Now,
watch what they do. Now, watch them play, whether it's
giddy or zealous, it does Who's becoming a big superstar?
Speaker 3 (38:53):
Now?
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Big deal? Right? He was twenty seven and five last night.
Then he come off the bench with Smith and Williams
and Herder. They run through their rotations like it's a
college team that plays up tempo and they make those
wholesale changes every four minutes because they play at such
a high pace where hey, here comes the you know,
five new guys coming in, because these five guys neat
a break The Bulls play at such a breakneck pace
(39:16):
and they don't have a lot of stars on the team,
and giddy probably is your default best player. But okay,
I remember, you know your best player is still injured.
Here Toobe White back in practice and ramping up. But
with a hot start, there's no rush to get him
back in. When you can play at a pace that
is different from every other team in the league, you're
(39:37):
a pain in the ass to play against. You're a
pay This team has confidence. When you play fast, you
can get past your mistakes a lot easier because hey,
didn't work this time down the court. This time down
the court, it's going to There's nobody who's ball dominant
on this team. There's a lot of guys that can score,
a lot of guys can shoot threes. They're a pain
in the ass to play against. And that's the worst
kind of team you want to play against in the
(39:58):
regular season. Well, we got the Bucks and then at
the Pistons, and then we got the Bulls back to
back with the Pacers, right, we don't want this Bulls
team running up and down the floor. My only concern
for the Bulls is they're a regular season good team
because that pace thing. Once you get to the playoffs,
it's not quite as effectionate. But regular season, man, I'm
believing in the Bulls hundred percent. No, But that's it, right,
is that you got the depth you talk about the
(40:20):
what six guys in double figures right now two to
one assist to turnover ratio. They can hit threes, they'll
run you, and because they're young, that you're not worried
about that dissipation right as we've watched with some of
these other teams where you're like, all right, by the
middle of the season, this is not sustainable. We're gonna
be in load management. Guys taking weeks off in all
(40:41):
of those kinds of things. With the Bulls, if they're
playing thirty minutes to night, it's none of it. It's White,
don't come back. He was their second leading scorer, Mike,
you know exactly what he's doing. By the way, No, no, no,
he's killing me. He's like because he wants to just
go Knicks Knicks Nicks now. Because that's the bigger point
in Eastern Conference right now, we talk about Indiana missing
(41:02):
their biggest guy. You're talking about these Celtics. They don't
have really an identity outside of Jalen Brown and whatever
is or is in his hairline and go on down
the line. There's the opportunity to move up.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
We still have another undefeated team to get to, which
we will in the next few minutes. But yeah, all
in on the Spurs, all in on the Bulls, and
after tonight, I think we're all in on Lamar Jackson.
Tell you why. Coming up next, Jason Smith Mike Harmon
Live from the Fox Sports Radio Studios, Bulls Yo, Fox
(41:38):
Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon. Yeah, Gideo TNF is in the books. Lamar
Jackson returns. The Ravens lineup, just a couple hundred yards
passing and four touchdowns. Worries it a Yeoman like effort,
Ravens beating the Dolphins twenty eight to six. What is
(41:59):
next for both of these the teams? What's next to
the trade deadline? Joining us now in the hotline? Nobody
better an NFL on Fox Inside or Extraordinary. Jay Glazer
You can follow him on Twitter at Jay Glazer. And
if you do follow Jay on Twitter, you know that
already Halloween in his house is off the hook, as
he came home earlier today to see his wife and
(42:20):
her sister dressed up in their skeleton costumes. Jay, Happy Halloween.
The party started.
Speaker 3 (42:24):
I guess that's a normal week Dan to Glazier household.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
Never a dome moment. How are you my friend?
Speaker 3 (42:30):
What I posted was she found mine in Strahan's outfits.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
I mean, yeah, st.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Together for Halloween. Correct, Hey did you see the other
day on our show? They came out and scared Stray
so like none of us knew and this dude comes
out and scared the hell out of Strike. Stray acts
like a tiny little coward and screams like a like
a you know, little schoolgirl a being the protector that
(43:01):
I have, stoic nothing, but I cocked my sist a
little bit, and that's how you get someone hurt. And
I thought, like right after, my man, you got a
couple of gangsters on this show, Like somebody really could
have gotten hurt. Like I'm glad I looked good, But Michael,
if he wasn't a schoolgirl about it, it's like what
(43:23):
if what if he struck you all?
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Like bamn, No, it's it right, I mean potential for bad,
bad things, security breaches. I mean we've had a lot
of that stuff jamming. You gotta someone has got to
be on in on the joke on that set.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
And none of it. I had no idea. I jam
there was the time I said that on the show,
I have a horrific, horrific fear of clowns. Like it's legit,
Like I've got a like psychiatrist, Like it's bad, and
like because when I was a little kid, my knuckleut parents,
it was like my crib and this huge picture of
(44:02):
this hobo clown over my crib. It looked like you
want to kill you and the eyes followed you. And
I got tormented by this thing for like the first
five years of my life. So I'm legitimbly hard fed.
So few here and Michael knows about it. And there's
some other incidents we won't get into that. I have
a clowns and stray and had a clown at Foxingville
(44:23):
Sunday for Good Morning America, and they the other producers
of Fox. I was in my dressing room talking to
a couple of producers Berdie Tam and Joel Santos and
the clown. In fact, Chris PE's like, oh, let's bring
the clown a glazier and then Michael's like, hey, whatever
you do, make sure the clouds had to go to
(44:43):
Glazier's room, and this clown walked into my room. I
try to run away first, because I literally am like
definitely for like my life, and I bounced off the
wall and then I swung at the clown and Joel
and Bernie caught me mess down and then Klarl was like,
oh my god, and they lost you for the whole day.
(45:03):
I was done. I was over there all right now.
Speaker 1 (45:05):
Now I want to go back for a second. Was
there no point when you were a kid did you
tell your parents, hey, can we take the clown picture down?
Can we put it?
Speaker 3 (45:11):
When I was yes, yes, when I was old enough
to talk, I get that thing out of the room. Whatever.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
What happened to it? Jay, what happened to the picture?
Speaker 3 (45:21):
Did it? Was?
Speaker 1 (45:22):
It burnt is and it's still out there somewhere, that thing.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
Not only that, they even took me like a little
child psychologist and they're like, well, let's just move his room,
and they put the freaking picture with me to the
next room. This thing was so scary, dude. It was
not like a good cloud. It was a murderous clown,
a murderer's clown. Well though I even said on the
other day on the air, the other day I will
kill the clown, and I was like, I probably just
didn't say that, but it's just how I feel. Well.
Speaker 1 (45:48):
I think the other thing we learned is that straight
hands lost his first step. Like, it's probably good he's retired,
because wow, I'll tell you that for no reaction like that,
for a guy that made his living reacting. So that's
on the defensive line. Yeah, he doesn't have a firs
step anymore.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
But yeah, and I'm gonna protect you. Obviously in the
relationship said.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
I cocked my fist. I was ready to fight for Michael, but.
Speaker 3 (46:09):
Look at it. I did a little thing like boo,
and then I was like, all right, all right, right, nope,
no danger here. It's the whole joke, all right.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
So who are the Dolphins hiding behind after this game
tonight now falling to two and seven.
Speaker 3 (46:21):
No, I think the other story, the other end of it.
I then they're hide behind him, But it's just who
they are, right, and I think they've been disjointed all year.
But the other end of it, you know, look at
the first couple of weeks in the first quarter of season,
everybody's doing story. The Ravens are dead, the Chiefs are dead,
I'm like, oh man, you gotta wait, You just gotta wait.
And the Chiefs can't understated in front of the scary
(46:44):
as two and five fem you'll see right, but you
know they're still a chief people. But oh John Holdall
can't coach. He's got to go like he and Andy
Reid suddenly didn't like forget how to coach. It's just
not how it is. But the way the league is now,
people have to understand. The way league isn't training camp.
You can't touch anybody, you can't hit. There's really not
(47:05):
teams that do that. So it's almost like the first
ten weeks of the season are almost like fight camp,
where that's where you kind of get your rib and
that's where you start. You know, you can hit someone
camp and the pullets aren't live, you don't will react.
So it's really is like maybe first eight weeks of
the season, I should say eighth of that are It's
(47:26):
like that's when fight camp begins. That's when you find
out who people really are. And but think about guys first.
You know, first six weeks, five weeks of season, we're
all doing these stories. The Chiefs, the Ravens, they're done
they're over. They're not over. Just wait for wait for
six weeks in when you're in the middle of fight champ.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
Everybody starting to get healthy, because certainly Lamar coming back
and immediate didn't. But the defensive side too.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
But even before last week against the Bears, but sumpam
a couple Russia sit their office. Yes, superbably against a
really hot schrising Bears team. And I can tell you
I'm talking to people in the Ravens. They were really
confident going in that game. He was with Snoop. They
were just confident. And again, I just think it just
(48:16):
took them a while for things to click. They've been
banged up, they've been digging with injuries. He's for banged
up with injuries and suspensions, things like that. But no,
the Ravens in the end of it, do we really
think that Derrick Henry wasn't going to start people? At
some point? I really think this defense is gonna be
this bad though.
Speaker 1 (48:38):
Yeah, Smith comes back, Hamilton comes back, They look good. Look,
I'm a Chicago kid, So I was really confident in
the Ravens last week too.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
And by the way, this is this is the Ravens
team with that that defensive tackle who's maybe their best defense. Sure,
the best player, but the culture of the Ravens there
always them in the Chiefs towards the end. They're just
always going to be there. They have a culture of
winning and it's just how it is.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
NFL On Fox Jay Glazer with US, Jason Smith Mike Harmon,
live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. All right, now,
as we get into the weekend, next week being the
trade deadline, I know things really heat up late, but
we've we've heard, hey, this could be a great trade deadline.
There's gonna be a lot of guys on the move.
Does that jibe with what you're hearing as far as
how active the trade deadline could be?
Speaker 3 (49:24):
No, not not like trade deadlines in the past. We
have like Christian maccaffery's going in the like, not like
that there is you look like Miami. Everyone's trying to
pill for from the roster both out the ends. You know,
Chubb and Tillips, who I think really could be on
the go. People have tried with Waddle, tried with the Shane.
(49:48):
They're trying right A lot of teams called the Jets,
you know, look for if they can get guys in
their defensil front. But it's not like like you know,
I said, up Fox the Abot Sunday people are calling
from Max Crosby. Dallas Is called from maxqusby a couple
of other teams also, and they told Max not going in.
But Max told me straight out, I don't want to
go anywhere, right, So take away that name. Why the
(50:11):
Browns won't do it? Something with models Garrett makes no
sense to me, but Browns going me the Browns right,
just how it is. But even like the Bengals, like
Trey Henderson, what are you doing? Like you're not gonna
have him back? It's just doesn't make sense. Like trade
him with somebody for you, I would you'd get a
one for Trey Hendrickson or a really good package for
(50:34):
Trey Hendrickson, do something like that. But I think for
the most part, you know, I think teams are swinging
away somewhat, but they're really getting rebuffed for the bigger names.
Like some teams have called the Jets for Quinton Williams
and told now it's got to be, you know, ridiculous offer.
You know, teams have called for a j Brown they've
(50:56):
been told no, they need a Hall of Famer in return, Well,
I just know that, like they're saying, well, it's try.
A Hall of Famer has been like no, you know,
so it's it's not like like the answer is basically
you know when you say that the answer is no.
I'm trying to think other big it's not you know,
the big names that people have tried for, they've all
(51:17):
kind of been told no. So I think you're looking
to Jalen Phillips that you know, the Bradley Chubbs, the uh,
you're gonna have the receiver from from the Raiders, h
Jacoby Myers, who had to think a good chance to
be on the move.
Speaker 1 (51:33):
You mentioned Jed's Breese Hall possibly or is he going
to stay?
Speaker 3 (51:36):
You think, you know kind of Jets are weird. They're not.
They've been a lot more patient about just keeping their guys.
And I thought a one team, a one win team would.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
Be Now you mentioned the Max Crosby situation. There was
that bit of dalliance with the Cowboys. He said he
wants to stay.
Speaker 3 (51:54):
Oh there was no Dallas. Dallas asked and they're like no,
And then he said to me, I won't go anywhere,
but at least yeah, Dallas is running away. I mean,
Dallas is called they should they're trying. They got two ones,
but they just haven't had any luck.
Speaker 1 (52:08):
If they if they get some help, could they suddenly
be a team that can really do some damage? Like
are they one or two defensive players away from maybe
just improving the defense just a little bit that that
might be enough.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
I think it's more than a player. I think it's
scheme too. You know, the offense is played really really well,
but I think the scheme over there is struggle. Man. Yeah,
I think them a player. I think you know, they
need some help in the secondary to play a scheme
that's not like his own scheme, to play more of
a man's team. Yes, and they need some pass rushers
(52:40):
and that's what they're going for, and need another linebacker
over there. So they need some help over there in
the defense.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
Yeah, certainly in the secondary. I mean, because we're still
in the unknown of what Trayvon Diggs situation other than
him being on ir right. Yeah, I think.
Speaker 3 (52:55):
That one's up in there. We'll say that that's up
in the air, all right.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
Jay.
Speaker 1 (53:01):
The other big story and feels like every week we
have this story coming in about the Tush Push and
the Eagles and officiated the way it is. I gotta
be honest, I can't see this surviving another year, not
after this year and the questions about how it's officiated.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
What are you are we're talking about now? It's going
to survive the rest of this season? Well, yeah, I like,
let's talk about it in March. People want to Yeah,
but that was the least of their problems. Please the
least their problems.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
A lot more there. Hey, how about New England because
Jason being a Jets fan at all, he's really upset
that Mike Rabel won that Battle of the new coaches there.
Speaker 3 (53:44):
He's doing a great job. It's just like, you know,
I think, you know, you kind of look at it
like a couple of years ago, you thought that Mike
Rabol is gonna get the job right out of the gates.
But they already have a deal in place for Phila
Coasta had last year. But I think, you know, variable
fits exactly what they've been looking for. Really really well,
(54:04):
it's interesting, you know, they just trade the Niners defensive end.
I know they want a little bit more help on
that's out of the ball, But I think he's done
not as he's done a great job. Drake May when
he got drafted third, the teams I talked to, man,
people were besides the Patriots that that nobody is really
that high on Drake May except for them. They were
(54:25):
sold on him, and Drake May has showing them all well.
He has been absolutely phenomenal in every aspect. And you know,
to get a to get a guy who's at your
Francise quarterback for the next you know, however many years
double did years was a huge infident, but also just
shows you, you know how in exacted drafted. I mean,
(54:47):
everybody I talked to was like, man, we're all here, Patriots,
you know May three, we would never do that. Like
I couldn't find anybody who was in tune with that.
Everybody like Jay Daniel's, everybody like Caleb Williams's, you know,
everybody else in But man, nobody really likes Drake May.
For them, that's all you need is that one team
and they were locked in and they saw it. Good
for them. But if they know what they're talking about,
(55:08):
nobody else did.
Speaker 1 (55:10):
He's on Twitter at Jay Glazer, that is at Jay Glazer.
Check him out on Fox NFL Sunday. Maybe somebody else
comes out to scare him and straight hand this week. Uh,
founder of MVP unbreakable performance as well, swinging away.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
From break and losing the air.
Speaker 1 (55:25):
Why why's Jay got his sparring gloves on? Hey, hey,
next time, what you should do?
Speaker 3 (55:29):
I'm telling you, no cloud, I will kill a cloud
if that.
Speaker 1 (55:32):
If that happens again, Jay, make it look like Straighthn
is hiding behind you, if you could, like like maneuver,
just it looks.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
Like hide behind me.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
Make it like he was run behind me and screamed,
uh happy Halloween. Body be good. We'll talk to you
next week. See somebody, thank you, screaming like a little kid.
I got my fits cocked. I'm ready to fight.
Speaker 3 (56:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
The video of that is is quality, but it's one
of those things someone on that set. I mean, yeah,
I think you would include Jay in or one of
the I mean, I'm surprised nobody would have said, hey,
now wait a minute, now, if you want to do
this clown thing with Jay, he has a thing on it.
I don't know that I would want to send somebody
out there like, oh hey, we'll do the cloud to
be funny. No, no, no, he's got a thing like
(56:22):
I would. I don't know why you guys kept bringing
it up. That's what he brought up the story, I know. Yeah,
but that said like he scarred from clowns. Yeah, that
was at the end of the clown talk. He to
bring the Jets up Frosburg. That's a good one. It's
one that's a good one. You know what, you don't
(56:43):
see a lot of clowns with the green and white scheme.
Maybe you see a hot team outside of the whole
time in the pantheon of clowns. That is not normally
a thing. By the way, talking about the Rabel Drake
May stuff, as Jay brought up, he was kind because
they're reports that the Bears war room kept bringing up
tape of him and laughing at it. Just going back
(57:06):
to all the errant throws. So it's like again in
a nice job with the offensive line this year, but
dot dot dot exit out by a Fresca exit swollen dome.
This show is sponsored by DraftKings sportsbook and official sports

(57:30):
crown is yours. Well, speaking of Halloween outfits, someone who
is doing double duty right now, making sure we all
know what's trending, trying to find a last minute outfit
for the weekend. It's Monzi Blanos.
Speaker 5 (57:46):
I'm just gonna blame my co hosts Martin on this.
Speaker 1 (57:48):
Okay, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (57:50):
Okay, because I wasn't planning on it, But now I'm
gonna be part of the fun with him, because.
Speaker 1 (57:55):
You're gonna come him. Yeah, so you're gonna wear your
Halloween outfit on All Saints Day?
Speaker 5 (58:01):
Correct? Okay, all right, okay, correct, And I'll probably address
up tomorrow too. But you know, I wasn't prepared tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (58:06):
It was, but it was a different vibe, different outfit
in front of the camera at work, well one hundred percent.
Speaker 5 (58:13):
So now I'm prepping for a Saturday costume.
Speaker 1 (58:15):
I'm gonna pull it off. You can't wear the same thing, no, no, no,
I could, No, I can't, but I could, but I can't,
but I won't. Look at this point, you should have
had Tonight's Devil's Night, right, So you should have had
a Devil's Night costume, Halloween costume, all Saints Day costume.
Speaker 2 (58:28):
That's a lot.
Speaker 1 (58:29):
That's a lot. That's a lot of work. Is not Shakira?
Is it? Is it like Arbor Day Monday? Then you
have a have an Arbor Day costume on Monday. You
can come with a tree. Sure you got a Stanford
mascot costume from Amazon? Sure, yeah, you pull it off.
Speaker 5 (58:44):
I could do all the things thanks to Amazon.
Speaker 1 (58:46):
Yeah, except not for you between four and eight a
tomorrow morning if you order it within the next hellong exactly,
but not for really for Halloween.
Speaker 3 (58:54):
Now.
Speaker 5 (58:54):
They're like, no, it's not coming until Monday. Don't worry
about anything, all right, guys, let's start in the NFL.
Week nine is officially kicked off. Ravens Cruise passed the
Dolphins real easy. Twenty eight to six was the final score.
Lamark Jackson returned after missing a couple of games because
of a hamstring injury.
Speaker 1 (59:10):
He was eighteen of twenty three two.
Speaker 5 (59:12):
Hundred and four yards four touchdowns, while Derreck Henry had
nineteen carries for one hundred and nineteen yards. Baltimore improves
to three and five, Miami falls to two and seven.
Other NFL news, Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray he's gonna play
Monday night against the Cowboys. He's missed last two games
because of a foot injury. Bengals quarterback though Joe Flacco
was limited in practice today because of his shoulder injury.
(59:33):
In college football, Nebraska has given head football coach Matt
Rule a two year contract extension that goes through twenty
thirty two. In the NBA, the Board of Governors approved
the ten billion dollars sale of the Lakers from Buses
from the Bus family to Mark Walter. The NBA, though
on Thursday night, Spurs start the season five and zero
for the first time in franchise history. They beat the
(59:53):
Heat one oh seven to one oh one, victor one
by Yama what can He Do? Twenty seven points, eighteen rebound,
six assists, and five blocks. Thunder also stay undefeated. They're
six and zero. They beat the Wizards win twenty seven
to one oh eight. Shakeil just Alexander thirty one points
in the win, and without Yanna Santa te Kumpo, the

they've extended the current CBA through November thirtieth. When it
(01:00:37):
comes to baseball and the World Series, Dodgers manager Dave
Roberts today said that he's pretty much gonna consider anything
when it comes to Sho Heyo Tani. He can be
an opener, he can play the outfield. If it comes
to Game seven, anything is.
Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
Put again, Did did I fall asleep and miss Game six?
If the Dodgers won to force Game seven? Quarterbaas yeah,
or the pass Do they still play Game six before
Game seven? Or they play Game seven first and then
Game six? Cozy man six seven six seven, Okay six
seven six seven, Yes, we get it. We understand there's still.
Speaker 5 (01:01:11):
A Game six.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
We get it.
