Speaker 2 (00:22):
Let's give this part you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Greetings, Welcome inside, Happy Tuesday, the Jason Smith Show with
my base friend Mike Harmon. I'm anna ask man. For
over forty years, tire Rack's been uping customers find the
right tires for how, what and where they drive. Shipped
fast and free, backed by free road hazard protection with
convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tirerac dot com

(00:50):
is the way tire buying should be. Well, here we
are on a Tuesday night in December, and we're already
at the next to last college football playoff poll that
came out tonight. And and look, there's a lot to say,
Well there is miss is better with Wayne Kiffing gone.

(01:13):
There is a lot to say and that for some reason,
Alabama is now better than Notre Dame. I don't know.
I guess Alabama's better. We'll put them ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
The wind blow.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
This is a precursor, I will give you. This is
a holiday precursor to what is going to be an
absolute firesale tire fire when the final poll comes out
and you see teams that wind up getting left out. Okay, Now,
obviously the top of the pole unchanged. Ohio State, Indiana

(01:45):
one two, Georgia number three, Texas Tech, Oregon is up
a bit in Texas A and M drops a couple spots,
but still safely in the in the playoff poll. But
the big things we see out here, and this is
where everything is coming into play. Now, why I say
get get right. Even though there's not going to be
a lot of movement in the top ten, the movement's
going to be ten, eleven, twelve, and who gets left out?
But understand that you've seen some movement. You have seen conferences.

(02:10):
Politic great. Apparently the committee loves the politicking of the
SEC because now they're going to have five teams in.
Apparently because for some reason Alabama beats an okay, Auburn team.
Now let's put them head of Notre Dame, not that
Notre Dame is great, but did Alabama really deserve to
get up there? This tells you Alabama is getting in
to the college with all play barring barring unexpected craziness.

(02:34):
And it's college football, so there is craziness. But barring
that you have seen it is working for us. The
SEC they have politic great, The ACC is not politicking
well at all, and you can wind up getting left out.
This is the craziness we are getting to with the
college football. We talked about it a couple of weeks
ago that we started to see a lot of the
comments coming out of the committee that leant towards style points.

(02:58):
And certainly it does not hurt that you're the main
mouthpieces are on all the place that hosts it, right,
and all the shouting and yelling nets going on of hey,
you shouldn't penalize because of this. Everybody now doing the
stumpy thing. Well, if Texas hadn't played that game, it's
like they did, Yeah they did. Like that doesn't magically

(03:21):
pooped go away? You want to resimulate it in your
damn video games?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Have at it.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Well, that's that's become a popular thing now because when
when Manny Diaz head coach, a duke former sports center
Pa well Many Diaz talked about how does his team
deserve to be in the AC title game. Obviously, even
if they win, they're not going to the playoff, but
you know they deserve to be in the a SEC
title game. He goes, well, yeah, look at our losses.
I'll be with us to a top ten, two top
ten teams, a top eight team, a top I'm oh,
so what you're saying is, hey, we shouldn't be penalized

(03:47):
because we lost a good teams. No, that's them. You're
a good team if you beat good teams, saying what
you're telling me is that, hey, we're okay beating the
teams at SNAK, but you know we play good. Hey
what do you expect you to do against good teams?
But the Texas argument just more laughable because you lost
to Florida. Didn't they just fire their coach because they
didn't like him. Well, you know when you hear lost

(04:09):
to Florida, Oh you lost to Florida, Florida, No, Florida's state.
The old ball coach and Tim Timo or not walking
to Terry Dane and Danny Whirfol and this is not
a Percy Harvin and this is this is not Chris
Leak and oh this is different but no, but it's
an absolute blank show and it's and it's coming at
you at all sides because you look at the teams
are gonna wind up getting left out, and there's gonna

(04:30):
be big teams getting left out. And the ACC is
at the cusp of this because they're not smart enough
to understand that, oh, we're fighting for our lives as
a conference. The SEC gets it, the Big Ten gets it.
You may not like how the Big Ten and the
SEC go about their business, but I know one thing.
They are not going to rest unless they get all
twelve teams into the playoff from their conference the strongest.

(04:52):
Damn right, we want Maryland in at twelve, right, we
want to get that. But here's the ACC and it's, oh, yeah, well,
maybe the tie breakers should be different. You think You
didn't think that maybe the tie breakers should be highest
ranked team. You didn't think that would be a big
thing to get you thought about all the other conferences,
think about everything else. You didn't think that, oh, maybe

(05:13):
highest ranked team should be in because that's our best
chance of getting a team in the playoffs. You don't
see how crowded out you're getting. You think you're gonna
wind up getting teams in all the time when it's
big ten sec Like, I can't look, I can't blame
those two conferences for doing a better job at politicking
and the AEC for going well, you know, I guess
we should maybe have said something, yeah, no, you know what,

(05:33):
you're stupid. You're stupid, and there's no no wonder your
conference is getting run into obscurity by these other comments.
You could totally see it on a whiteboard though. He
gets put up there in a corner and it's like, ah,
but what are the we don't need to worry about that.
What are the odds that's actually gonna happen? Right? I
love the commentary today though this is good from uh
you're Achech, the athletic director at Arkansas. I can tell

(05:55):
you the debate between Alabama and Notre Dame in the
past three weeks, strongest debate we've had in the room
for the past year. Wait wait for it. Notre Dame
went on the road, had a strong win at Stanford.
But but I mean, come on, man, this is not
this is not the NFL where all the teams stink.
I mean, come on, this is called you have good
teams at college foot But Alabama went on the road

(06:18):
in a rivalry game and looked really, really good, especially
in the first half. Yeah, Auburn stinks too, right there,
But like to give you something little bit different because
we told you what a blank show what's going on?
And when you see teams like Notre Dame Texas who
could wind up getting left out and boy leaving out Texas,
well they lost three top ten teams, well they be
three top ten teams. Okay, you're gonna get to sixteen teams, right,

(06:42):
We've talked with this for a long time. This is
gonna be the last year with twelve. They will find
a way to get all on the same pages. Say, okay,
let's let sixteen teams in next year, because they're all stupid.
This year. They couldn't figure it out. We couldn't figure
out a way to get to make the money work
and get to sixteen teams, which is stupid. And now
you're going, oh, maybe we need to do that now
because and the main reason is that your pool of

(07:06):
contenders in the NIL era has gotten bigger because you
are now talking about teams like Indiana and Texas Tech
that suddenly aren't it. Well, they have to get in,
Texas A and M has to get in. These are
not your normal power teams that you would say, well, yeah,
they're gonna get in the playoff. No, you're thinking it's
gonna be all the heritage teams are all gonna get in.

(07:27):
But because of the nil era and schools that have
figured out how to make it happen more than other
schools have, you have these new and it's not gonna
be every year. It's not gonna be. These teams aren't
gonna suddenly become powers every year. But hey, when the
purse strings open up, you're gonna get that quarterback that's
gonna get you to an eleven and one record because
you avoid the three best teams in your conference. Now,
so that's going to happen. Your contender's pool is getting bigger.

(07:50):
So what are you gonna do as a result, Well,
we got to make the playoff bigger because the SEC,
the Big tench we want more schools in the AC
wants to make sure we get at least one or
two schools in. So magically in the offseason. Watch magically,
they're gonna find a way to get to sixteen teams.
They're just say, oh yeah, we find a way to
make it all work out. We're gonna get that up
because this next week, that final pool is gonna be

(08:11):
a blank show, and there's gonna be teams that want blood.
Steve Sarkisian might have blood dripping from his mouth if
Texas gets left. Yeah, but this becomes part of the
Machiavellian plan of it's been to sixteen or bigger all along.
It's just well, how do we get there? We need
to have a common villain, and the villain is that
damn ten through twelve man. Somebody has to be left out. Meanwhile,

(08:33):
they're sitting there going how big is that pot of money?
How big is that pot of money? For adding those
extra games? We can make it bigger, right, we can
get bigger? Is it bigger? Do we really? We really
can push this if we leave Notre Dame out right,
we can really push this if we look. I love
Notre Dame, you love Notre Dame. We all love Notre Dame.
But do we want Notre Dame to get it over

(08:54):
one of our teams?

Speaker 3 (08:55):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:55):
I think we need to band together and make sure
Notre Dame does. I mean, I love Notre Dame. I
know you don't, but this is this is survival of
the fittest. Or wait, wait, even a more radical suggestion.
We still expand the playoffs like you had, but we
go back to a non human element. You put in
your algorithm, you put in your data. Yeah, it keeps

(09:17):
people from getting that extra trip and run through the
trough and the lazy river at the hotels and and
all that they get with their their perks of being
on the committee, the frequent flyer miles and and extra
cell phones and all of those things. But maybe maybe
the computer was the right way to handle this, because
now now it's lobbying like you're on Capitol Hill, dude,

(09:40):
not on steroids. Like doesn't even work like it's always
been there. No one trust computers anymore. No one trust
computers anymore. Now we we can't trust there's AI. AI
is gonna wind up doing something crazy and picking teams
that are four and eight from the playoff. No, we
can't have that. We've named Max Headroom or.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Max.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Now you gotta explained to millennials to Max Headroom now
you did the impress give me a little bit of
mad Brewer right there. Yeah, there you go. You got
to come back in black years ago. But yeah, all
of this is it's been a made for TV show,
just like the playoffs themselves. And that's like when we
talk about it for the NCAA tournament, that's always been

(10:17):
the case. So the fact that that's suddenly thrust into
people's faces and the the faux outrage over Lane Kiffin,
like this was new by the way, Charlie Charlie Weiss
junior junior, like Barti Crouch junior coming back that got
them boosted a spot. How do you think Lane Kiffin

(10:39):
felt about, Hey, hey he's going back. It went up
after you left. The worry was that it was a
free fall because you were gone. He doesn't care ulss
you was gonna pay him the more successful. He said, Hey,
that's great. I'm glad they moved us up. I feel
I don't have to do any prep work and I'm
gonna wind up getting some spoils from this. Do I

(11:00):
get a bonus if they get to the top five
based on some other chaos over championship weekend? But but
all of it as we've watched it through the first
go round, all the way through, We've had these fun
narratives about style points.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Right.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
I read the little blip about Notre Dame in Alabama
right to show you, uh, because Notre Dame kick the
crap out of Stanford, which they were supposed to.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Right.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
They did their job just like we were talking about,
for a tough road win against Well, you know, I mean,
Andrew luck might have tripped down the sideline, or he
might have come back to throw a couple pass. It
just gets really close to the side he does. He
hasn't yet stepped over the line out of the field
of play. He's not Mike Tomlin tripped anybody. No, no,
Bill Cower, which when he tried to full through to
punch the guy in the Jaguars when he blocked that kick,

(11:44):
it was a Chris Hudson right there running for a
touchdown badly wanted to punch the guy. If those things
ever come up on those guys, it's very interesting. But
I remember he went to apologize to him after He
did apologize to him afterward. But all of this is

(12:04):
I mean, it's amazing. The replay on the sideent Hudson's
like dancing down the field and a coward just wrecks
backets and he takes a step forward. Those are the
two photos that need autograph pictures copies of on my wall.
Did get when he was flipping off the fans, right,
that's a famous one and then the Bill Kawer, So

(12:24):
if I can get those, that would be great on
the wall of mean, But it's a TV show, So
now it's politicking and stumping as best you can with
your loudest voices, because even going to A and M,
they're not like getting left out. They only have one loss, right,
But we watched coach get a little weepy, uh you
know because there were some noise and he and he
heard people celebrating what a you know what non unprofessional

(12:48):
environment we have here. But like their schedule sucked and
nothing was made of that, but everybody went. But but
I'm just saying, because because the other side was all
the sec honks, we're going after Ohio State for their schedule,
like tex A and M had a walk in the
park relatively speaking, Yeah, but because you got louder voices

(13:11):
and maybe they've more numerous big voices to stump for
the SEC. Here's the thing. I don't mind the politicking.
I don't mind the stumping. I don't mind Hey, here's
our schedule is better than your schedule, because I like that.
I think that's healthy, and I think that's good debate.
I think it's I think it's really good. Now when
your thumb is on the scale and all of a sudden,

(13:33):
for no reason, Alabama is vaulted ahead of Notre Dame
to make sure that they get in. Okay, that's where
that's where you got to throw a challenge flag? No, Okay,
what what's really going on here with this? So I
kind of I don't mind that part, because you got
a debate about something right to be able to do that.
But the whole thing is that when you have a
sport that has no rules, how do you think this

(13:53):
is going to be done cleanly? I mean, that's the
they you thought this College football has zero It is
the wild West of sports. They have no When you
have no rules, this is just gonna be done with. Okay,
and let's see how it turns out. And there's gonna
be people who are hopping mad next week and people
who are gonna be happy without it. But it's gonna
be an absolute mess because good teams are gonna get

(14:14):
left out. Heritage teams are gonna get left out. And
it's not gonna be like last year where you got lucky,
where oh Miami should have gotten in. Well, Miami, you
lost Syracuse Laskin. You lost your third game of the year.
You had to win to get it that. I have
no sympathy for you there. I have no sympathy think
about that losing to Syracuse being a big no. That's true.
So but that was one game. That was one game.
This is gonna be way more than that. You know what,

(14:35):
the old adages, you should have won more games. M Exit,
I'm out of Fresca. Exit swallowing down The Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. We got more
football on the way. The latest on the well, I
don't want to say probably this year. This is the
biggest coaching fail in football we have seen. It's next

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon another Peacock doubleheader night, which means we're
gonna get Oklahoma City and Golden State in about an hour. Awesome,
that'll start about an hour, yeah, but it'll go all
the way through the show. It will, that is true.

(16:01):
It will be for folks that can't sleep. They now
have a companion. And uh, you know, early game here
on the Coast to Coast Nick Celtics, which was a
blowout in the third quarter, Jalen Brunson having his worst
game as a Nick and I'm I don't think I'm
under selling that, but it's become an eight point game
now midway through the fourth quarter. But you know, you
don't get these games unless you The whole point of

(16:22):
the NBA on NBC was a double header, right, but
the whole point of when they had it years ago
was and today's double header the men of Teal and
Charlotte visit Michael Jordan and the Bulls. And then later
on the West Coast, the Lakers host the Blazers in
a big, big matchup. Clyde Drexler, we'll return and this
one for Portland, right, like that was the whole thing

(16:44):
was Dell, you gotta get it. Nah, you don't. You
don't get them now. Well, but here's the thing. You know,
life kind of changes as you go on. It's it's
like the complaint that everybody has, like, look, look at
all it would cost you to watch every game in
the NFL. It's like, you know, once a play all
the time. You got one or two games and you
liked it, you loved it. You had Monday night football,
and then you had what three games on Sunday. Maybe no,

(17:09):
you're really well no, no, no, I'm talking back. I'm talking
like when we were kids. Yeah, no, you had you
had your local game, and then you had the and
then you had a late game, the national game or
whatever national game you had, whatever your team was playing.
But that's what I made. Like so, so that's what
you got, and you liked it, and you dealt with it,
and you got your highlights. They fired up the sports

(17:30):
machine on Sunday night, and you know it was so special.
Was when like if like I remember, and I was
lucky because obviously in New York we get Jets and Giants, right,
so we get so I got more teams. But like
when that four o'clock game would end, and and and
and Don Criky whoever it was, would say and not
hearing it, you know, the final from the Meadowlands, the
Jets beat you know, Jets beat the Broncos thirty four
to twenty seven. Now let's take you for bonus coonus coverage.

(17:53):
San Diego Chargers and the and the and the Oakland
Raiders are tied at forty five late in the fourth quarter,
and you're like, oh at the end of this game, Oh,
I can't have dinner yet, Graham, I can't have dinner yet.
There's six minutes to go and it's forty five forty
five and fouls has the football I can't come to
dinner yet well that was always so special, and then
it would get to the bottom of the hour and
they'd go to the regular schedule program because of network agreements.

(18:16):
But all of that to say, like, it's like the internet,
right when everything was free and then people realize, you know,
we're not making any money, like this click any click
click click ad thing is like, eh, let's put it
behind paywalls. O. Folks didn't like that, like, you know,
the the Tom Petty line that I run from the
last DJ, Like all the boys upstairs want to see
how much you'll pay for what you used to get

(18:38):
for free. Oh yeah, yeah, And that's where we're at
for the NFL. If you're cool with a couple of
games a week, you're good. You want more, you pay
for it like anything else in this world. You want
extra seat room on your airplane, you go, you want
to bring an extra bag, you pay. Hey, your local
game's free as long as you have some kind of

(18:58):
you know, any kind of okay. But but the rest
of it. Yeah, I'm gonna put my hand in your
pocket and I'm gonna pull out a water catch.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
But look it's the old drug dealer model. Yeah, that
first taste free, you want more. But that whole thing
is like, it's so ironic that the whole thing was
the NBN, NBC, the doublehead. I know that was the
whole But here's the thing. A lot of folks don't
remember that. They remember the flashy graphics, the open Marv
Albert and Steve Snapper, Jones, Bill Walton and Michael Jordan.

(19:32):
That's what you remember. And then later Tim Duncan and
the Spurs against the Mavericks and a Western Conference showdown.
What if the money was movie set cash? What if
the if the movie was what money was movie set cash? Oh? Okay,
yeah that would okay, all right, I'm right now, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm with you on that, okay, yeah, movie set cash.
Yeah yea, yeah, okay. So you can lay down like

(19:53):
you yeah and break you mad. You shoot too much, Marty,
you shoot too much. I mean, it's just it's just this,
it's just such a bad idea. I mean it's I really,
it's just such a bad idea. I mean, I want
to see what the numbers are for Peacock. I mean,
have they gotten any kind of juice side of this?

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (20:14):
In terms of subscription, the thing is I get the
long haul part. I get that. Okay, people are gonna
need some time to come to It's like the opening
of a club. Hey, how come no one's here open end? Well,
people just got to find out about We got a
few people the first night, more people the second night
than the third night. Concet, but you gotta get some
more to mold. What's not gonna change is not getting
one of the games and the late game, which is

(20:37):
a big matchup starting at eleven o'clock on the East Coat.
You're saying, we're gonna start like we don't care. This
is the Thunder and the Warriors. Man, this is a
team that could of challenge the Warriors record for wins
in a season. Right, they're already on pace to go,
you know, seventy eight and four, right, and here's the
Warriors and what's gonna happen? And you know we're starting this.
We're starting it at eleven o'clock, starting it here, we

(20:59):
get more peaple, we're gonna start well, but if you care,
you're gonna watch. No, not really care, you're gonna pay it.
I think people, and I think you overestimate people's desire
to watch live sports when it's not their team. Hey,
I'm about convenience. We are about convenience in this country. Now,
that's why all this different stuff with I have to
get this and this, but in this streaming situation and
this and this and this, No, you gotta make it

(21:20):
easier for me. So hey, starting at ten o'clock, yeah,
watch a while, but you know what, I started to
get up at seven thirty. Old man Peterson's on my
as for those reports, and Kramer was doing He's on me,
Say what where are those reports?

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Jerry?

Speaker 1 (21:33):
He won't lay off me, Jerry. People makes it so difficult.
They have to get up and work. People have to
get up and go to the airport in the morning.
They have to get up and go to work. They
gotta get their kids to school. Like I understand that
not everybody's gonna stay it for love of the game.
You want it. Got to make it easier for people.
Gotta make it easy, Okay. And if it's a failed
experiment after a year, one, guess what pivot? Pivot?

Speaker 2 (21:56):
We'll go to.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Another NBC comedy of yesteryear, Exit Out about a Fresco
exit swollen Dome. Jason Smith Mike Harmon Live from the
Fox Sports radio studios and guys. Yeah, what do you got, Frostburg.
We're only nine weeks away from the Winter Olympics. Yeah,
getting there, man, I can't wait. I did, really. I
am so looking forward to the Winter Olympics. I can't.
I mean, I love the Olympics. I love the Summer Olympics,

(22:17):
but the Winter Olympics are so there's nothing better than
just sitting around watching these these events that you have
no idea what they were about. But once every four
years you're like, yeah, come on, man, I want to
see that curling play again. I want to see it.
I want to see that curly playing the mad a
T shirt about. I want to see that. But we're
gonna break that all down. I want to. There's no
question about. All these curlers run liquor stores, and they

(22:38):
get together once every four years, and they got to
I'll tell you what. Living in upstate New York, I
was about a mile and a half away from a
curling club. We went every couple of weeks. It was
a lot of fun. Eh, A lot of beer consumed
on those curls. A lot of beer, a lot of curls,
and a lot of cursing, definitely a lot of that.
You knock my bleep bleeping stone out of head and jerk. Meanwhile,

(23:01):
in college football, the biggest coaching fail has gotten even
bigger because today Kalani Sataki and TJ in a story
that mushroomed out of control for Penn State, Sataki deciding
to stay at BYU. You know, Ke won't see. I'm
trying to get all the mushroom lines in here. But

(23:23):
Sataki staying at BYU. We thought a day ago he
was going to be going to Penn State. Instead he
is staying there, And now Penn State is back to
square one? Right, and nothing's better than what was it?
The the ad, the fake post on social media on
Sunday that's I have no blankt idea who to hire?

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Right?

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Thought that was a real thing. Now maybe not so much.
Maybe to be in this day and age, do you
really doubt any of it? You're doing more research than
that's clearly fake? No, I don't know. So Penn State
still has no head coaching plan, nobody in place, and
you know, ahead of ahead of the big signing rankings,

(24:04):
their recruiting class is now like one thirtieth three ye
in the country. It's like, all of a sudden, Penn
State football has been like, whoa, what the hell happened?

Speaker 5 (24:14):
Man?

Speaker 1 (24:15):
This is a this is an epic fail of biblical proportions.
You fire James Franklin, and now you still don't have
a new guy, and now everybody's decommitted, and your recruiting
class next year, good luck to the next guy coming in,
good luck whoever that's gonna be good good good luck
to good luck to Urban Meyer coming into pennstatee whoever's
gonna be next year at Penn State. So you look

(24:37):
back and you go, man, firing James Franklin, And now
you're hearing the big push of all The best guy
for the job was James Franklin. The best James Franklin
should have kept the job. You want to know why
James Franklin was fired, and I'll tell you this, And
this is a this is a blanket statement that I
think fans have to understand who the real power brokers
are now in college football. Franklin gets fired. This was

(25:00):
this something that was, oh, hey, we got to have
somebody come in and make a change right away. We're
gonna start winning. Once the door was opened in the
NIL era where you were able to allow rich alumni
businesses who wanted to spend money to bring in these coaches.

(25:21):
Once you allowed them in, they have become the people
who make the decisions for all these college football teams. Right,
this is the eighty doesn't make these decisions. The general
manager doesn't make these decisions. The governor gets involved in
things get messy. But this is when NIL powerful NIL
backers call and say, hey, man, we just lost to UCLA.

(25:46):
I just had to watch Rick new Heisel's kid get
carried off the field. Come on, man, not even new
I mean he's got great hair at Jerry new Heidel.
My goodness, but I do what you get a new
head coach? Or guess what, my money ain't coming in.
And that is something that happens all the time. So
what do you do if you're in college, you're stuck
because if you don't have the money in then il

(26:06):
or you're not getting you're not getting the kids to
come in. So now suddenly it's we don't have the
coaches and we don't have the kids because they're gonna
go or they're gonna get the most money. You could say,
oh my, my heart bleeds burnt Orange with Texas. But
if Texas isn't giving you money, man, Hey, my heart
bleeds Ucla powder blue. Hey, I want to go there?
Uh so you're gonna go wherever. These are the guys

(26:27):
that make those decisions, So I guarantee you this was Hey,
guess what we paid and spend a lot of money
to bring Drew Aller back. We spend a lot of
money to bring these guys back for a big run here,
and now we can't even beat Ucla. They fired their
head coach a week ago, and and and we go
out and we have this kind of effort. Guess what,
You're not getting any more of my money unless we
got a new head coach. What are you gonna do.

(26:48):
You gotta get rid of the coach. You gotta be
able to make sure that you okay, I'm good with money.
These are the real and and again in a sport
without rules, these are the guys out of the new
power brokers. It is. It is the rich nil backers
that are running all these college football port Just wait
till they get unionized, Wait till they get into it together,
Wait till they have these meetings with each other like

(27:08):
like in the in The Godfather, all these mofua movies
where all the family ment, the heads of the family
and and the sopranos, they all get together for meetings. Hey,
someone's coming in from te Neck. We're gonna sit out
of here. Wait till all the big team powerbrokers get together.
Who do we want as the coach? Oh, we want
this guy as the coach. Okay, we'll pay because that's
how it's working at LSU LU. We want Brian Kelly fired. Great,
we're fired. We want Lane Giffen. Okay, great, we got

(27:29):
you got money? Yes, you got our money. Okay. These
are how the decisions are being well, but that's how
it's always been done. Right Now it's just more open,
open book, right, and we get to watch this playoff.
You've kind of powered them to make these are the work,
but they were always the folks behind you. Why do
you guys get fired? Well, we know what the approximate
buy on is. Now you've got more perfect information. Right,

(27:52):
It's like the any of these secondary markets and collectibles
or whatever else, like you know what it's worth almost
immediately thereafter. Likewise, these biots like, well, here's all the caveats.
Here's all the extra bonuses Lane Kiffing got. So, I
mean that theory is certainly there, right. Why coaches get
to hang around, Well, they're liked by the moneyed people,

(28:14):
or they fall out of favor, or the money's already
been secured for whatever the project is, a stadium refurbishment,
new weight training facilities, a new trap. Whatever the carrot is, well,
once they're actually consuming said carrots, like the coach doesn't
matter as much anymore. So you also have a couple

(28:34):
other things at work. James Franklin just had a hell
of a run. Didn't win against top teams. A lot
of guys don't. But if you're a coach, are you
looking at that going I want in. It's kind of
like the LSU job like we're talking about yesterday. Like
there's a lot of other stuff that's swirling. Oh, you
don't have the governor necessarily chiming in like you do
in Louisiana. But you also have and we've seen a

(28:56):
lot of this swirling up about Jimmy Sexton, who's the
agent for all the power coaches. So you have the
ability to go in and make ridiculous demands on everybody,
and and they're your clients, right, so you power broker
this thing, and then what happens, Well, we don't have
a guy, but you got to get rid of them. Okay,
and now you look at the absolute mess that Penn
State football is. Yeah, the betting Hodgs. Right, this was

(29:19):
as of yesterday. So you had Sataki and Bob Jesney.
Well they're they're they're kind of off the board. Brian
Table is next, good luck. He was next at seven
to two, followed by Hypel Brahm, Terry Smith, and Brian Hartline. Yeah,
get right, Hey that wide receiver room, Brian Hartline, get ready,
keep going down the line, Manny Daz, Ryan Day coaching tree.
Watch out. Well, you had the rumor that if they've

(29:41):
lost the Iron Bowl, then Debor was suddenly going to
be available, right sat swirling there. Lincoln Riley's on this list.
Everybody's on the list. How about that? Also on the
list is Steve to say is Yeah, because he's he's
got the most open schedule to be able to take
the job. And also tell us what's trending.

Speaker 6 (29:57):
No, I don't have an open schedule. We have our
opponents for eight to ten years. Hence everything is already signed,
home and home. But we got Texas State coming up,
we got Colorado State.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
All the big PAC twelve schools. Everybody is signed. Okay,
he negotiated that with Robert Losin. But you also know
when the updates are so you can balance that. Well.

Speaker 6 (30:18):
Actually on some shows I don't know where.

Speaker 5 (30:23):
Well.

Speaker 6 (30:23):
Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie wins Junior will stay with
the team for the playoffs then leave for LSU. Five
other assistants are already left. We mentioned last night in
Lane Kiffin's new contract with LSU, he'll get bonus money
for his old team Ole Miss advancing to this season's
playoffs and for winning. BYU. Head coach Kalanie Sataki says
he will stay despite interest from Penn State about their

(30:45):
coach opening. He gets a long term extension from BYU.
Texas Tech gave coach Joey McGuire a new seven year contract.
Texas Tech number four in the new playoff Committee rankings.
The top four will get first round byes. Boston College
coach Bill O'Brien will turn to BC after a two
to ten season, and they'll devote more money to the
football program. Col's new head coach will be Tosh Loupoi.

(31:07):
He's Oregon's defensive coordinator. Offensive coordinator Will Stein will leave
Oregon for Kentucky after the season. Auburn is retaining defensive
coordinator DJ Diurkin. The new head coach is Alex Golish
from South Florida, and he'll bring some assistance from South Florida.
The new coach at North Texas is due to be
Neil Brown X of West Virginia after the season. Eric

(31:28):
Morris is leaving North Texas for the Oklahoma State job.
This Saturday night on Fox TV, number one Ohio State
against number two ranked Indiana for the Big Ten title
in Indianapolis. Both teams are twelve and oh By the way,
Georgia number three in the new Committee rankings, Oregon number
five will miss up to number six, then number seven Texas.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
A and M. By the way.

Speaker 6 (31:50):
An announcement from the NFL today, this month's Packers at
Bears game will be on a Saturday night, December twentieth,
opposite a college playoff game also on that Saturday, opposite
college playoffs, Philadelphia at Washington. Lions wide receiver aman Ros
Saint Brown did not practice again Sprang to ankle. Detroit
plays this Thursday, hosting Dallas. Cowboys. Wide receiver George Pickens

(32:14):
return to full practice after a knee injury. The Steelers
claimed wide receiver Adam Thielen off waivers from Minnesota and
Pittsburgh Wave defensive back Darius Slay NBA wins for Philadelphia
and Toronto two minutes left in overtime. Minnesota now leads
at New Orleans one thirty seven, one thirty two, Anthony
Edwards forty two points. The Celtics have beaten the Knicks

(32:35):
one twenty three, one seventeen, Jalen Brown forty two points,
and they've just gone final at San Antonio. Spurs edge
Memphis one twenty six to one nineteen. The late game
is still a half hour away. Golden State will be
tipping off at home against Oklahoma City, which is one
twelve in a row twenty and one. You'd think some
people would like to see that game.

Speaker 7 (32:57):
Twelve ninety nine go to college basketball, Syracuse defeated Number
thirteen Tennessee sixty two to sixty fourth ranked Duke g
edge Number fifteen Florida sixty seven sixty six.

Speaker 6 (33:09):
And also in men's college hoops halftime. North Carolina tied
at Kentucky thirty one all well. Fifth ranked Yukon has
taken the lead at Kansas forty eight to forty six,
about nine minutes to play back to you.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Thank you, Steve. Oh yeah, Tennessee nearly pulled off the
seventy two Olympics Russia United States play. On the final
play to send the game to overtime. I was like,
oh my god, how do you just single guard it? Big?
He catches a path all the way down court. Luckily
he missed and Syracuse save there.

Speaker 6 (33:35):
What Tennessee needed to do was have the athletic director
literally walk onto the court and say three seconds redo
the pass, three seconds still left on the clock.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
We're gonna do it until they score, just so you know,
We're gonna do it until they.

Speaker 6 (33:46):
Score, and then thrown to Alexander bell Off and the game.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Is over coming. Up next, we got to play the
day coming your way, and are two of the greatest
athletes in the history of their sports about to come
out of retirement. That's next. Jason to Mike Fox.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm. Eastern seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
If the game's on Peacock and no one sees it
doesn't count. Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Harmon, I saw the Knicks lose.
For over forty years, Tirerack's been helping customers find the
right tires for how, what and where they drive. Shipped
fats and free, backed by free road hazard protection with

(34:30):
convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tirerack dot Com
is the way tire buying should be. This brings us,
of course, to the tire rect Play of the Day
and well, when you score forty two points, I'm okay
with giving you the play the day because if no
one saw the game, I know that really counts.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
Advocate it to Summons, throws it that head at the crown.
Fat Davin Brown's fourteenth career. He has forty two for
something six.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
There it is on Peacock one twenty three, one seventeen. Hey,
but that's okay because no one really saw this game,
so I can tell you it doesn't matter if they
get out of the bubble of the garden. It really suck.
Huh yeah, I mean well really, hey, I mean they
battled back, un be able to battled back. Henny was
Brunson's worst game as a nick right, just when I go, hey,
they really figured that none, no, No, six to twenty one.

(35:28):
He did have eleven assists on the night. They're older
and they're slow and there's trouble coming. But speaking hey,
say you got trouble speaking of being old and slow,
we might have the comeback of the two greatest athletes
in their respective sports. And I say maybe Serena Williams.
Is she about to come back at the age of

(35:50):
forty five years old. According to reports from earlier today,
her name was on the list to be reinstated to
the active roster for the wut Yeah, yeah, Now, Serena
Williams put out a message saying, you guys, stop tripping.
I Am not coming back. This is crazy, but this
Her agent was reached for some sort of comment on this,

(36:12):
and there's been no response back yet. But this, I
believe this has to be something money or Olympics wise,
where Serena being on the active list is going to
be able to benefit somehow from this. And always everybody,
everybody wins if you've got the name attached, right, that
surname carries a lot of weight. Yeah, So is this

(36:34):
something where she's gonna come back and play and play
doubles with Venus? Yeah? I adly the door up of
that like a half of one percent, But mainly it's
money or Olympics coming to to to La oriented for
her to come back. This is some sort of thing
we'll find out. Oh, this is why she's on this.
I think it's a lot, a lot Like we've talked,

(36:55):
and I've talked more in your ear off off air
and you probably want to punch me repeatedly. For the
John Cena farewell tour. Right, he's going to finish as
an in ring performer next month. Doesn't mean he's not
showing up. Yeah, doesn't mean he's not gonna come and
give a speech, do some photo ops and all that
other stuff. But his time as an active participant in

(37:17):
WWE live events as a wrestler is supposedly well for now.
We'll see. It's like retirement tours and rock music. Hey,
this is our last concert you got, that's why the
tickets are so shuteyeze. Oh, hey, we're gonna do what
we Hey, we had such a good time. We're gonna
go back and do some more dates next year, but
that's our last concert. We're not coming back next year.

(37:40):
Well that's a big fear here in the WWE side
of things, is that they keep having to lean at
the guys that are mid forties and beyond to keep
carrying the show. But for Venus, yeah, I mean with
the Olympics and just evens in general. If you get
the name attached to appearances, meet and greets, you know,
just being a spokesperson, it's a win for every I
don't know how that has to work in the legal

(38:02):
easee to be on the active because you get into
all the doping rules and whatever else that you have
to submit forms and samples and everything else. But that's
where we're at. But that was fun for her to
come out and say, no, leave me alone. See that's
why I like guns and Roses. Are you No, we're
not rital. We're just gonna keep touring for another day again, George,
there's supposed to be two songs that I didn't see him.
They've been touring for ten years. We're gonna keep going, man,

(38:24):
We're like the Dead. Well, they take a month off
every once in a while. And what happens both Duff
and Slash show up everywhere. Now we could also and
maybe this has a better chance of happening, seeing Ronda
Rousey come back in MMA, as there are reports that
she is negotiating with a megabout with Katie Taylor for
next year in Vegas. Let me say this, don't do it.

(38:50):
I understand, I understand the fact that MMA launched my career.
I was the biggest star in MMA history. I was
a super nova. Was I really that good? Not really? No?

Speaker 2 (39:01):
No?

Speaker 1 (39:01):
No, she was a huge deal her, No, she was
a big deal. But was she that great?

Speaker 3 (39:06):
No?

Speaker 1 (39:07):
She kind of got exposed at the end. She couldn't
beat anybody. She went to wrestling. It was okay for
a while. Now that hasn't worked out. What am I
gonna do? Now? What am I gonna do? I gotta
go back to what made me famous. Wow, don't do it.
I get it, but it's it sounds and and and
smacks of such desperation. You got pounded pillar to post
at the end of your career. You couldn't get it done.

(39:29):
Now you're gonna You're gonna go fight. You're gonna get
back into the ring again. After not being there. Don't
do it. Don't do it. It's just gonna go badly.
And and I'm I'm gonna cringe and watch with with
with my hands over my eyes, but just maybe one
eye creaked open a little bit, just to can I see, Oh,
she just got hit really hard. Don't do it. Don't
do it, Rhnda. But I think it just plays to

(39:52):
where we're at in combat sports in general. And you
want to see someone one more time, right, still clamoring
for Connor McGregor. How many time in the boxing game
have we waited fifteen years for something to come together.
It's like, hey, they might do that again. It's like,
what wasn't good the last time? But you know what,
in the absence of other spectacle, bring me in, which
is why the Paul Brothers win big. For Ronda Rousey.

(40:15):
It'll draw a big number because there'll be people that
will hate watch yeah, and it'll end badly. Just and
wrestling was not good. Those final MMA bouts were disastrous. Oh,
don't do it, Ronda, don't do it. Coming up next,
we got a big story out of the NFL. Right here,
Jason and Mike, you are listening to Fox Sports Radio. Yeah,

(40:36):
Oh yeah, yeah, you need one of those big Marv
Albertiz's going and the Oklahoma City Thunder thanks to shake
Gil just Alexander. You know when I started Oklahoma City,
no one even knew where it was on the map.
Shake kill just Alexander. No one wanted him. The Clippers
let him go. Now look where he is. I don't
know any of these players. I'm done, and the Oklahoma

(40:58):
City Thunder will have a top ten pick, maybe the
number one pick overall because the Clippers can't get out
of their own way? So what do we do for
the voiceover? I mean Tom Hanks has a new play
that nobody seems to like. Does he get on there
and show for it? Because he was a Bay Area guy?
Do you get a hammer? We're ready for Oklahoma City.
They have a team that is that is sensational news.

(41:20):
They have a team and Golden Stone. Why Golden State.
They weren't terrible in the nineties. Oh now they're good. Okay, Well,
we have this game that people tell me is good.
Enjoy it. That's you gonna get ai A. I'm Marv Albert.
Do you say stuff like that? Well he might be.
I mean, there are a bunch of actors that have
sold the rights to their their voices for perpetuity for

(41:42):
their families to keep drawing checks, like Michael Kane did that.
I don't know which version of Michael Kine. How do
you don't do the broken voice? What do you uh? Now?
Two head coaches spoke today and in the last twenty
four hours, both of them probably shouldn't have. Let's deal
with Mike Tomlin first and foremost things are bad in Pittsburgh.

(42:06):
How bad are they now? The whispers for Mike Tomlin
being fired? Are there fans booing him? They booed when
they played Renegade in the fourth quarter on something. I mean,
when you're booing during Renegade, you know, Okay, we got
to look in the mirror and we got to clean
some things up. Mike Tomlin and his time with the
Steelers has never looked closer to being up than it

(42:28):
does right now.

Speaker 4 (42:30):
Now.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Mike Tomlin's normally defiant. You know, when someone says something,
you're on the opposite side of him. He stands in there. Man,
he's got you are not gonna say bad stuff about me.
I am the biggest, baddest guy on the block right here.
I am the man here. You are not gonna say
that about me. Except today when he was asked about
people booing Foreman calling for his firing. Well, this is

(42:51):
what Mike Tomlin said.

Speaker 3 (42:52):
Man, I share their frustration tonight. Man, we didn't do enough.
That's just the reality of it. I know I'm restless
and frustrated. I was, and so I assume they were
in the same state we were in. I'm restless and frustrated.
I was, and so I assume they were in the
same state we were in.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
So again, rustless and frustrated, same state. You know what,
they weren't in the same state as Aaron Rodgers was in. No, no, no,
he was in a different state. Yeah, he was in
a completely different state. He was on the East coast
and they were on the West coast. Look, Mike Tomlin
has been a great head coach for a long time.
He's still a good head coach. He's been in Pittsburgh

(43:30):
a long time. He has made decisions the last couple
of years that have held the team back, specifically the
quarterback decisions. And to give you a little bit of
a different take on Mike Tomlin, this is at the
end of the year where I come in and I say, okay,
we're going to get a big quarterback. Now, I don't

(43:51):
know why you don't want us to go take a
big swing at a quarterback. The last couple of years
you wanted to go bargain basement shopping for Justin Fields
and Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers. We are going to
get a quarterback. If you're not on board with that,
then we can figure something out. Have a great parting
of the ways press conference. Well, thank you for all
years of service. But the Steelers need the Steelers need

(44:11):
to get modern.

Speaker 5 (44:12):
Man.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
I mean, the Steelers are that casino from the cooler,
where hey, yeah, we made five million dollars last year.
The casino down the block made fifty billion dollars last year.
Now we're still the old school casino that there employs
coolers and and it takes you back to old Vegas,
right like uh a Vegas. That's the Pittsburgh Steelers are
the the the the casino from the cooler. And Ron

(44:35):
Livings is coming in and say, hey, we got to
jazz some things up. We gotta make things happen. Got
and Alec Bowan, No, no, no, we're old Vegas. We're good.
We're good. No, you're not good. You're not in the
modern National Football League. You're not. Who's the Maria Bello
in this situation. That's Aaron Rodgers. So you have you
have that. You have the meeting and say listen, this
is what we're doing. And omar CON's got to come

(44:57):
and say, listen, we are going to get a quarterback.
We're gonna give him a lot of money, and he's
gonna come in here. And I know you've had to
manage a lot of egos. I know it hasn't been
the easiest time here with Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown and
Le'Veon bell. I get that, and I get you have
a little bit of Bill Belichick in you, where Hey,
I want to kind of win where I can mold
the players around how I want it. I don't want

(45:19):
big stars. I want to be able to win with
a bunch of guys who go out and play like robots.
You know, this is what I want to do. But
if you're not, if you're not up for this, if
you're up for us moving into a modern era, then
we will have a press conference the end of the season.
We will thank you it'll be awesome. You'll have a
new job in twenty four hours. You'll you'll you'll go
coach something, Go take the Browns job, because Kevin Stefanski

(45:40):
might wind up talking his way out of that wherever
it's gonna be. You will have a new job. But
we are moving on because Mike Tomlin and the Steelers
can't go on like this. They can't go on in
an era of football that everybody else has passed them by.
Even the Browns are running a more modern era of football. Hey,
we're gonna start some rookie and get some youtha. I mean,

(46:01):
the Browns are doing more modern things than the Steelers are.
The brown I just wish in this grand scheme of things,
Deshaun Watson was inching George's health to where they had
a decision to make just to add another layer of
chaos there in Cleveland, Caause remember that still has shaped
everything they've done, so it's not in a vacuum. It

(46:22):
still goes back to we're still paying that guy, right
and whatever he showed up as a mentor in whatever
his relationship with Shador is what it is. You look
at their twenty twenty five active roster for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
You ready to have some fun? TJ. Watt cap hit
twenty three point four, Cameron Heyward twenty two point eight,

(46:43):
Alex heigh Smith eighteen point six, Patrick Queen seventeen point seven.
You see the theme I'm getting new here is they're
a worse version of the forty nine ers when the
Niners were paying all those guys fifteen million dollars a
year low. But you at least still had some guys
on the offensive side that can be an impact player
for you. Mike Tomlin doesn't want to play offense, no,
but but that's he don't want to run the football.

(47:04):
He'd like to have his defense out there for four
quarters and when the defense makes a play, we get
a point, and we hope if they throw an incomplete pass,
we get a half a point. If a running play
happens and it's less than three yards, it's a half
a point. But that's not It goes back to the
uneasy and look his big One of his biggest critics
at this point is Ben Roethlisberger, who doesn't care his
legacy secure. You either love that guy or you don't. Obviously,

(47:27):
he's got the off field that still sits in the
background and all of that to say, but you got
the benefit of his forty five hundred yards a year
and the fact that the guy could not be tackled right,
he would not go down. It would extend plays, and
you brought in the cavalcade of stars, the wide receivers
until they hit their tipping point. Each guy had a

(47:50):
little different timeline, but it all ended terribly with the
exception of hines Ward, who outran bands explosives. Outside of that,
everybody else had a bad run. Really hines Ward outrunning
I mean, come on, well, he gotta suspend. That's the
most disbelieving probable. That's right, heines Ward if he stood
in and blocked that gaping hole. First of all, he's

(48:10):
out running everybody on the field to get a touchdown,
and he's also out running all the big holes. To
day it's blowing into I mean that got come on, man,
you you already lost me. That he's going to run
a kickoff back for a touchdown. Really hines Ward. Really
the thing though, the rest of the Batman loving audience,
they didn't know who heinz Ward was. He might have
been an actor, but all I'm trying to say, is

(48:31):
he lucked into an era where you had a guy
that when you needed him to score thirty points, it's
scoring thirty points. Yeah, And this becomes a question of
how much power he's wielded to decide who the the
central figure was there versus battling the GMS, versus ownership
because convincing them as I just read that off, what

(48:52):
was that thirty six and forty five? Man, that's seventy
six million dollars wrapped up in four defenders. Queen's pretty young,
heismiths what twenty eight? And then you got thirty six
and TJ. Watt is now an old thirty one, right,
So you just go on down the line from there.
Aaron Rodgers comes in fifth at fourteen million. For those

(49:13):
keeping track at home, your next leading guy after that
is Friar Mooth. Okay, so that's where your money spent.
So that's a whole other power thing. He's signed through
twenty twenty seven, so he has trade value. Yeah sure,
oh yeah, right, this is this is one there's gonna
be multiple teams and if it's in division like maybe
you can hold I mean, Jimmy Haslem has shown the

(49:34):
propensity to do some dumb things you might be able to.
Dolphins will trade for him. Sure, there's teams will know
Mike mccaniel's not going anywhere. He's a wizard. I think
they would get get one four out of five. I
think they. I think they'd be Okay, let's say, hey,
well we're gonna we pair him together. That might be
the greatest comedy act in football. And it would be like,
you don't go past this line on the sideline, and

(49:55):
I don't go past that line. If you stay on
that side, I stay on this. Two of the most
animated coaches that we've ever seen brought together for the
first time. So yeah, you have to have that sit
down with Mike Tomlin because you got to get into
this century of football. Meanwhile, your guy, Ben Johnson, I
just have advice for my Guy's are hot dog day baby,
I have advice for Ben Jonson, right guy ripping his

(50:15):
shirt off in the locker room Sunday. The Bears have
the best record in the NFC. They won on Sunday
on the strength of their running game. Their defense is
getting turnovers all year. The passing game has been alternately
good some weeks that hasn't been great, but Caleb Williams
always finds a way to make plays at the end
of the game when they need to. He was asked

(50:36):
about the lack of production from the passing game, and
Ben Johnson said this on Sunday, everybody's got a role
to play to get this pass game cleaned up. We're
winning in spite of our passing game, not because of it.
None of us are pleased with that right now. Oh
wait a minute. Then Tuesday, Ben Johnson realized, oh hang on,
we have the best record in the NFC. Why the

(50:58):
hell am I apologizing for anything? And he says, quote,
I think when I made that comment, it's easy to
construe it is I'm not happy with the quarterback. That's
not the case whatsoever. Caleb Williams continues to get better
each and every week, and I couldn't be more pleased
with how he played last week. Now, are there elements
of truth to what he said? Per hundred percent? Can

(51:18):
you win like this over the long haul if your
passing game isn't at a more optimal level? Of course,
not right, you need that. But this is where the
advice for Ben Johnson be that guy that ripped his
shirt off in the locker room. When you get a
question about the offense, the passing game not going on,
you say, we're nine and three. It's hard to win
in the NFL. We ran for five hundred yards today
against a really good defense. Next question, right, what do

(51:41):
you want from us? What do you want? Don't apologize
for wins? I mean, why is he a posy? And
this is this is part of Chicago. We got to
find stuff to be mad about. We can't just be happy.
We had to find set to be mad about. And
this is where I think I feel attacked you to
text right down, that was a personal attack. But I'm

(52:02):
working you trying to say city. Yes, you stared me
directly through my soul as you said, well, I'm talking
to you and and and yeah, there is part of
that because I do, yeah you do. Okay, Yes, take
that personally, have the ipat and I wanted Mike Carmen
to take that person You get no more. Uh go cheese.
But Harmon brought in goat cheese tonight. That's that's not

(52:23):
a euphemism for anything. He did bring in goat cheese. Uh,
this is it. This is if you're Ben Johnson. You
just simply say yeah, hard to one in the NFL.
We're happy. We ran for two hundred and fifty yards.
Kyle was great, DeAndre was great. Nine and three, we're
pretty happy right now. We're focused on the next game.
Don't apologize that's said, don't give it. Don't give oxygen
to the fact that why are you put If you

(52:44):
were five and six and you were falling out of
the playog, yeah, I understand that more. But you're nine
and three, man, I mean what your offense knows Callill Williams, Oh,
he's got to get it going. The rest of the
offense knows, we gotta get it going, right, Well, what
are you doing to be that guy that ripped your
shirt off? It's it's funny, right, so they're they're already laughing,
saying they should make a statue of it. He did
that in front of the hot dog stand where they

(53:06):
gave away free hot dogs again and if you took
your shirt off. I really don't know how that worked
with the females in the crowd, but either way, they
had their It was ravishing. Rick Rude. I'd like to
invite all the husbands watching to turn away women take
out your cameras as I'm going to take off my
robe and get ready to get in the ring, and
then it would show women. Actually not absolute. Yeah, he's

(53:30):
kind of a big deal. But all of that to say,
I agree with you, like the honesty has to be
pulled back, right, don't feed in, don't get like it's there,
and you're I think on some level you're trying to
cut off the next ten questions that are come from it,
because remember, a lot of that is not going to
be just local media. At this point. You got what

(53:51):
the folks on the score have long referred to as
out of town stupid. You've read the box score, you've
seen three highlights, you haven't watched these games, you haven't
watched any of the flow. And you see, oh, you
only pass for one hundred and fifty yards, and you know,
here's his completion percentage. Well, it's like when you used
to take tests at school. If you only throw the
ball eighteen times and you throw four in completions, what's

(54:14):
that completion percentage? You're gonna look like it's gonna be
pretty poor, isn't it? Kind of like those quizzes like ah,
gully got like a seventy percent. I got three wrong
out of the ten. Yeah it was ten. It wasn't
a thirty question quiz. That's the way this works. So
same thing with some of the Caleb Williams numbers. Has
he been great? No, And anybody that's watched Possession of Possession,

(54:35):
you recognize that there's still room to grow, but you're winning.
You're winning. And for Ben Johnson, I think some of
it is just the no in the wing to yes.
I understand we're not there, but you also give oxygen
to those that just want to that don't want to
like you. I mean, that don't want this to be
a real story, and there's certainly plenty of them out there.

(54:56):
Exit up about a Fresco exit swalling down The Jason
Smith Show with Ma my best friend Mike Harmon. Coming
up next, we have to get into what NFL team
had the worst week this week and it's not even close,
and don't say Cleveland that Cleveland did not have the
worst week. That's coming up, and we balance that out
with a little bit of appreciation moments about for a

(55:19):
couple of NFL players. Let's go full service right here. Next.
