Speaker 1 (00:31):
Hello, Welcome inside, Happy Monday, The Jason Smith Show with
my bass friend Mike Harmon. What's going on Joe Positivity.
For over forty years, tire Rack's been helping customers find

(00:52):
He is the way tire buying should be. Hopefully had
a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Spend some time reflecting on
why we have this weekend. Remember some gave all and
it's just one of those things to think about as
we enjoy the last few days and why we can
and uh, you know, I want to say this because
you know, the open the knicks and every that. I
want to say, how am I after after yesterday? I'm

(01:15):
gonna surprise you. I'm good. I'm good because what the
Knicks did was they bought a day. They bought a day,
they bought a game. Right, they didn't do it. They
bought a game. The series could have ended and instead, okay,
we bought a game. Now they gotta go get game
four because down three to one, you see what happens
down three to one coming back from that. Oh, it's fine,

(01:35):
but they bought they they bought a day, they bought
a game.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
And I'm happy, but I'm not.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Sitting here with choke gestures with the Pacers blown at
twenty points.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I will save that if we win the series. But
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
It's they bought a game. They bought a game, they
bought a day. It's okay, great, you you found a
way back in a game that made absolutely no sense.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
It made no sense. The Knicks won this game. Karl
Anthony Towns has.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Four points through three quarters and then he just hits
for twenty in the fourth, like Brunson.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Doesn't have a big How did they win there? This game?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
This series makes absolutely no sense. So okay, but that's
a I'm okay, I'm not insane. I mean that was
insane Jayson Knicks fan. But but now I'm like, okay,
you know what, we're right on the edge right now.
Things things aren't going as we thought. But that's basically
what the Knicks did. They bought a game, and now
it's all about game four because really you could say, well,
they won the one, Yeah they could go home. No,

(02:26):
you don't go home to win three game. You don't
go home and then leave it and come back. Oh yeah,
we'll just hit fast forward on the button to win
three games. Doesn't happen that way, doesn't it?

Speaker 3 (02:32):
How you go back Game one obviously one that was sol.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Sol ripping. We don't need to talk about it anymore,
all of that, but talk about it.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
No Game two, close game, you talk about that psychologically
jarring at times, Karl Anthony Towns was either wearing a
cloak of invisibility or he was John Cena and you
didn't see it. Game three for a good chunk of that,
he didn't. We saw shamit check in and a lot

(03:02):
of folks looking around going, Okay, Tibbs has truly lost
his mind. Now the synapses aren't firing, and we got
some craziness because now the guys are getting extra minutes.
Well you get eleven from him, thirteen from right Josh Hart,
who more or less benched himself in all of his comments.
Between game two and Game three, he comes through with

(03:22):
some of the biggest rebounds where suddenly he's playing like
he's eight feet tall on stilts. Yeah, rebound after rebound
and big play. And for Karl Anthony Town it's like
someone activated, you hit the switch on the back. Just
be good, Like, how did you as bad? You know,
kind of a thing. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I got four points in the first three quart and
all of a sudden taking the heat check threes in
the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I'm saying, how the hell.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Did There's like nine memes of him that came out
of that fourth quarter, some of the passes, some of
the hey look at the words that he's mouthing here
as he's running up and down the court. He got
called for that insane travel.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
And I don't know that I've ever agreed with an
announcer more than listening to Stanban Gunny just incredilously gone.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
So that was called here?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Why? Yeah, Like on several foul calls like yep, I'm
with you here, Stan, but all.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Don't try to break this series down because it doesn't
make any It doesn't make it make sense.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Kalen Brunson sitting on the bench and suddenly there's some
activity and the Knicks are playing better basketball comes back in,
helps to finish things off. Six of eighteen from the field.
They're gonna need a better version of him, and he
and Kat are gonna have to figure out what their
problems are. But you bought a day. You bought a
couple of days. And look, the first two games, as

(04:40):
much as they may have been jarring, were close games, right,
gave one away? Okay, fine, you rally, you took one back.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
What was it?

Speaker 1 (04:48):
The New York Posts back page was chokes on them.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
It's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
I mean, that's pretty clever. I like that with the
giant picture of cat screaming and losing his mind, which
is great. But now we get back for game four
and let's see what other magic tips can find in
terms of lineup switches and juice that you can get.
McBride gave them a couple of big shots. He also
tried to shoot them out of the game. A couple

(05:14):
of times. Don't try to make the day.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
It makes no sense, It makes absolutely no Shallow May
showed up, shout May, shouta May.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
What you got, Frostburg, I totally that went in a
different direction than I thought it would be.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
What what direction? You think it was? Your whole take one?
I tell you they bought, they bought two days.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
I thought you were gonna go with you were talking
about things that were numbered. I thought you were going
to go with, I'm enjoying my knicks are numbers.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Well, yeah, we gotta win three more games here and
then four more in the finals. Not It's I I
can't think too much that they bought two days. It's
what they did. They bought two days. And now, but
if they lose game four, that's it. You're gonna go
back home and win where you've already lost twice.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
They need to come back.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
To Indiana and win, and then I mean, I know,
Caitlin Clark's not playing, but then you can go back
in Madison Square Garden to win.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Yeah, I know, I.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Know, but it's yeah, well, clearly, clearly the big panic
move by the Pacers bringing Pops Haliburton back, which we'll
get to But no, really, I mean they bought a couple.
I'm not lying in a glass. I'm not gonna sudden
turn the mic off and go.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Yeah ba like you. But no, they they they bought
two days.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
It's what No, But I mean we go back to
the end of last week. For those joining us for
the first time, welcome aboard Jason Smith Show with Mike
Harmon here Fox Sports Radio, the iHeartRadio app nearly five
hundred affiliates nationwide and ever growing entity. That we are
globally uh normally riding the lightning and the open would
suggest as such, you've been fairly measured. I mean a

(06:44):
little sky is falling towards the end of last week.
But oh the sky had fallen after game, but it
had already fallen down. It had fallen down and crashed,
and we were picking up the on Friday, it became me, well,
if they get a game, but you were looking forward
to getting swept. We started talking about it, TIBs maybe
out sure, putting up pictures of Danny Hurley, Yeah, giant

(07:06):
Heart that said d eight Yes, Nick, How.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Do we get Yannis? How do we get Yannis?

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Package can we put together for Yannis? All of these
things he got by that kid. So I don't know
if you want if he can get beaten off the
dribble that fast.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Towns in anunobi for Jannis. The money works, We'll give
throwing a throwing a couple.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
But I would say this right we're watching game four
now of this Western Conference Finals, and in game three
of that series, suddenly he had a re emergence of
Julius Randam. Remember he did a disappearing act in game two. Uh,
in this series, he came back just fine. So Cat
did the same in the fourth quarter. Now put on
a cape and wrote it out to a victory. It's
funny you say we'll let more on this series. And yes,

(07:46):
the return of John Halliburton coming for Game four.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I'm in a glass case of emotion.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
But where we sit right now, Thunder lead the t
Wolves early in the third quarter, sixty eight sixty four.
Teal's get a couple of buckets out of the break
and again on display is exactly why I picked the
Thunder to win this.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I picked the Thunder from the beginning of the playoffs.
You had the Wolves.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
You and I are opposite sides of this, But what
have I said from the beginning, I have more confidence
that SGA is going to be consistently great over the
course of this series than I am Anthony Edwards, because
ANNT Edwards still gives you games where you're saying, where
the hell is he?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Right?

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Game one was a no show right then suddenly okay,
picked up a little bit in game two, Game three.
Your blog great, But I told you there's a couple
of times a series where Aunt Edwards doesn't show up
and you can't do that again. You can do that
when you're playing teams that you have an advantage against
that are playing well, but a team like Oklahoma City,
you can't have your best player not show up for
two of the six or whatever it's going to be.

(08:44):
And tonight and Edwards in the first half took two shots.
Man two shots and Edwards two shots, four points in
the first half of this game. Okay, there is no
world in which and Edward the next Michael Jordan, the
next Lebron James, the next CRIPTA, there's no world in
which he takes two shots in the first half.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
What are you doing? Really?

Speaker 1 (09:05):
I mean, you're lucky you're still in the game. And
luckily they were because Hey, McDaniel's had a big first
half and that was good.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
And and you had points off.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
The bench, Now that's good, right, Yeah, and Devincenzo's got
a three. You know you're hitting some threes off the
bench is what's keeping you in this game? Oh, if
you didn't keep turning the van ball over too, I
meant a number of mindless turnovers and sequences.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
They had twelve in the first.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Half, don't.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
I don't know how. I don't know how. The next
great player that An Edwards, and it's this second game
where he's had a big no show the entire game
one and now the first half of Game two. He
does have a bucket early in the second half, but
he's taken three shots right now that youse take Hey
take eight shots in the first four minutes. But this
is where I mean, really, how do you have to
take three shots in the first half. The face of

(09:48):
the league doesn't take two shots in the first half
of the playoff thing?

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Right, It's like I understand the old let the game
come to you to a degree. You're in the Western
Conference finals, and I can also understand, Hey, you've got
a bunch of all NBA defensive players in that Oklahoma
City lineup.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Right.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
We talked a lot about Dort who's getting the tuna
run right now, we've talked about Alex Cruz, so what
he's been able to do. All of those things are
fine and exciting, but you need to have a stamp
on this game, right. You can't say, hey, look what
Kat did last night, and I'm gonna do that, but
you know, we'll hang around and then all of a sudden,
I'll have this offensive explosion because.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Guess what, it may not come.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
And you're also not a big guy that can go
in and impose your will down low and and force contact,
work through contact and make things happen. For Edwards to
be this passive, it's maddening. Absolutely, you're a Minnesota fan
or you're a member of that staff, you're going, what
are we doing?

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Or you want the people that wanted to anoint him
as the next Michael Jordan for the last twelve.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Months sticking out of context.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
I mean, look when he shoots his jumpers like Jordan does,
and he's got the he's got the sweat band up
on the sleeve like Jordan does. Dude, Jeorde, Well, look
what Jordan doesn't do that Jordan doesn't take two shots
in the first half of a must win playoff.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
But look look what he did on on Saturday, right
that the first quarter?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
What was it?

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Fifteen five and two. Yeah, I just said, this is
my game? Yeah great, and this is look and it's
not like it's one thing. And I would not rip
Aunt Edwards if his first half was he had four
points and he was two for twelve from the floor shot.
You know us, you're the superstar, you're support, You're trying.
He's trying to get into the game. He's trying to

(11:33):
affect the game and my SHOT's not going right. This
is where it happens for Shay Gilders Alexander.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
What does he do.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
I'm gonna get to the free throw line because it's
what I do and this is how I'm going to
affect the game. I'm gonna slow it down for me.
If I'm not hitting, I'm gonna play make a little more,
but I'm gonna continue to be the score of my teens.
I'm gonna get to the line because that's how that's
how you do it when your SHOT's not falling. This
is Ann Edwards like like there's there's possessions on offense
where I go, where the hell is he? Like, I'm
watching the first half going you wouldn't even know he

(12:00):
was on the floor a lot.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I it.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
He's never evens like he didn't even engage to try
to get into the game in the first half.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Last two possessions down misses a wide open three and
now tries to go into the lane and has his
money taken from him.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Man, I'll tell you man again, this entire series has
played out exactly why SGA is that superstar that comes
out and finds a way every It's what the best
superstars do. They always find a way to affect the game.
And and Edwards had a couple of games in a series
where Boy really needed more. Boy really needed more, And
usually those are l's and that's why you wind up
losing the series. Now again, they're lucky it's this close

(12:36):
because you are getting a big effort from your bench
and and the threes are falling for the most part.
But still did I mean, you gotta have this game.
You gotta have this game. You're coming out after beating
the Thunder by one hundred and fifty on Saturday, where
I think the game started out and it was and
it was twenty three nothing out of the gate. And
now here's a game where it's like, okay, we're doing
this again, right, we feel all kinds of confidence, you know.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
The thunder.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
The way they talked after game three was hey man,
this was shocking. We have to do a bunch of things.
We have to So you know, they're reeling looking for
an answer because they thought we're gonna come in and
roll over though that's what we've done the first two games.
This way, you come out again, we make sure no
no hope for you, and we are gonna send you
back now if your shots aren't falling again, that's one thing,
but there's one thing of trying to get in the

(13:20):
game and not doing it and then just just hanging
out say yeah, I'm good you guys shoot I'm okay.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
But again, most of that first half they shot very well.
I mean there was a point where it was, hey,
we're at sixty five percent, but we turned the ball
over ten times, and so you have a deficit you're
looking at. Williams had a huge first half four to
six from three point range. Thus far, Sga obviously getting
his work done. But yeah, We're on the side of

(13:44):
the milk cart and for Anthony Edwards and what he
has tried to express himself and be part of the
action these last couple of possessions. I tasted the milk.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
It was sour.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Meanwhile, we could see a huge streak coming to an
a because my Carolina Hurricanes up to nine over the
Panthers shock with thirteen minutes left, they could break that
fifteen game Eastern Conference Final losing street thirteen minutes. Still
a lot of time, Still a lot of time. Yeah,
but still it's our first time we led this whole series.

Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon Heaton. Uh just when I say, hey,
Carolina could be breaking that fifteen game Eastern Coverence fat
They took the second goal from the Hurricanes away for
offside coaches challenge overturns it so won nothing. Carolina lead
over Florida tam COO in the period. Meanwhile, Thunder and

(15:34):
the t Wolves. This guy, I told you the Nicks
and the Pacers make no sense. This game makes no sense.
And Edwards has six points. Yet somehow the Tea Wolves
and Thunder are tied at seventy nine apiece because the
Tea Wolves bench is absolutely going crazy. Thirty nine points
off the bench thus far and nine three.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Point boy Uh yeah again.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Trying to make sense to the NBA playoffs sometimes is
very difficult. Joining us now on the hotline, longtime NFL
insider man, it was paying a lot of close attention
to this game right now. You can check him out
on Odyssey one oh five seven, the Fen in Baltimore,
Washington Post, on Twitter at Jason Locke and four it
is Jason lock and for what's happening?

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Man?

Speaker 2 (16:16):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (16:17):
What's going on? Gentlemen?

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Y buddy?

Speaker 1 (16:19):
He First, I want to say sorry about the Turfs today,
Big run Beate Syracuse. Sorry about the Turfs. But uh,
you know, hey, big run, big run.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
I saw a stat the team that plays in the
second semifinal is four and fourteen in the last eighteen
national Sampa Tip.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Well, if I know that, I would have gone to
Vegas today. How about you? About you? How about some
of you? A text on that earlier today.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
I didn't know it. I didn't know it. Collaughterate, I
know it, Coaorates. No, I'm never going to forget the
hell lacrosse. By the way, I have, I have bet
college cross. Okay, I won't say like I do bet
college lacrosse, because that would implying it. It's like a
fairly regular thing. But has it occurred more than five
times in my life? Yes?

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Okay, all right, very good? Now four and fourteen.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
I'm not great at it. I'm like three and two.
I mean, I'm not. I'm not. I'm not particularly good
at it.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah, well, at least it's legal. I didn't know if
betting on lacrosse is even legal.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Oh no, I don't know if it's legal everywhere, but
from all the apps here because it's big, you know,
in Baltimore, like I can get I get lines on
pretty much anything like not even just big conferences like
CIA and stuff.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah wow, okay.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
All right, so what's your big What was your big
line tonight for Thunder t Walls?

Speaker 2 (17:25):
What do you have?

Speaker 4 (17:27):
My favorite bet in this game was the over to
eighteen and a half. I'm also on the thunder money line.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
All right, very nice, very nice looks so far.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Thunder money line looks. Okay, you're too eighteen. I don't know,
but your your Thunder money line looks all right.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Oh no, I would say the opposite. I would say that,
well anyway, I don't like talk my best.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yeah, I had the Alexander Walker three all.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Right, all right, all right, So so all right, football
here we go.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
So today some reports that potentially Kirk Cousins is the
Steelers plan B if things don't work out with Aaron Rodgers. Now,
first things first, are things really not going to work
out with Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 2 (18:09):
And we're going to be talking about this.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
He's a weirdo, so you know, I mean, like, he
sure it could go through. He's sure he could completely
change his mind down the road. Sure he could decide
he wants to hold out for something different or I
don't know, sexy, or something closer to a rainforest or
a jungle or something like that, you know, where he
can get all the get all the medicine man stuff

(18:34):
he needs. I mean, I don't know how you could
feel good about any sort of business arrangement with him.
And yeah, I mean, look, the Falcons, we talked about
this in the past. The Falcons have to get real
about Kirk Cousins and what they're doing. And it's a
salary dumping out a football trade, and that owner to

(18:54):
this point has been unwilling to eat what he'd have
to eat to get back real assets. So he's trying
to have his cake and eat it too. He's saying,
I want some mine to take all this off my hands,
and I want, you know, I want to get back
what you know, what is commensurate with the contract that
we take Kirk Cousins and people are trying to tell
him that that that's dead money, that that you're not

(19:16):
going to get that. And you know, Sam Donald didn't
get what he thought he was going to get, and
Matt Stafford didn't get what he thought he was going
to get, and you know Field probably didn't get you know,
it was kind of did Okay, Russ definitely didn't get
what Russ thought he was going to get. Aaron Rodgers
is not going to get any close to what Aaron
Rodgers got. And Cousins is more in that you know,
sort of bin of quarterbacks than he is the Purties,

(19:39):
you know, and those guys who didn't get what they want.
So it's an ownership deal. I mean, they could have
traded him before the draft. They should have traded him
before the draft. But the owner won't eat salary.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
But I gotta I gotta think, though, Jay, that as
time goes on and Cousins is around the team, right
because now we've had time, Yeah, well we ten our
time when around the team and they realize, oh this
really isn't going to work, that's what's going to happen.
But I think what's killing them now is that, well
we're still in the off season, where were you know,
mini camps over waiting for the camp to start. But

(20:11):
once that happens, it's, oh man, where we can't we
can't go forward like this.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
This is a real big distract. This is bad for
the team.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
Well it's just silly, But I mean, it shouldn't takes
that having to happen for them to be realist about
the situation, you know, Like I I I just think
they've looked, they've been buffoon's about the quarterback position really
since Matt Ryan started going downhill, and now this Penix
thing might have you know, might have bailed them out.
We could also add, you know, they didn't need Psycher

(20:39):
cousins to draft pedic clear that it was obviously a
little weird that owner can't get it right at quarterback.
He gave you know, Matt Ryan one more extension than
he had to, and it's been crazy since then, you know.
I mean, these are the same people that didn't want
to make a phone call to Lamar Jackson because they
had Desert Rider. That's a fact. So yeah, I don't

(21:06):
know how to handicap that because you know, it's when
it's a billionaire who doesn't want to cut out, you know,
five six, seven, eight million dollars off of a contract
to trade it. It's kind of like you're not pregnant
until you are. And the fact that they would need
to see the dysfunction in their quarterback room with their

(21:27):
own eyes to know it exists also seems silly and
myopic to me and shortsighted. But you look, I don't
think he's gonna be there week one, whether that's traded
in the next two weeks to Pittsburgh, or traded right
on the eve of training camp, or traded when somebody
gets hurt somewhere in training camp. It would seem kind

(21:50):
of silly to have that dynamic with the backup making
twenty times more than the starter sitting on the bench
waiting to see if the kid sails. That just doesn't
seem to make a lot of sense.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Took me a second to recover from the Desmond Ritter
reference there, Jason.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
It took me. It's like a punch of.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
The base, like, yeah, I remember those conversations.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
All right.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
Now, let's let's have a little bit of fun. The
fun and exciting world of flag football and now the
complaints of, hey, we want to get a real shot,
can we get a couple of open tryouts and workouts
between NFL players and the would be professional flag footballers.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
I mean, I have so less than zero interested in this.
I gotta say, like, am I maybe I'm on an
is on here and it's just I'm getting home, you know,
I'm on the other side of fifty now, and like
this whole thing just seems like the biggest crock of
like PRBs I've ever seen in mine. Like the NFL
is gonna get enough publicity now we want to get

(22:50):
up a fake controversy to get even more time spent
people bloviating about us and to people wo use comments
as anymore in the old my newspaper background. I guess
there's no comments whenemies on the web, but is unlimited
web space like just wasted on this faux controversy, Like,
I mean, how else in the world is playing any

(23:13):
degree of football in any way, shape or form that
like we would have to go out and like, through
our superiority.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
It's gonna look like the Dream Team the first time
they played in basketball in ninety two.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
I was gonna be in these brackets like Lebanon. Oh,
we're in a bracket with Fiji, Lebanon, Lebanon and Grenada.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Like what come on, man, hey, they could put they
could put us in like sixth countries with us in
the group of death with Canada and England.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
You know they could do that Australia.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Sure, I do like the Dream Team reference, though maybe
we get like the Subruter film, like the Dream Team
getting beaten by the College All Stars right for the
last thirty plus.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
Dude, I mean, but this is really stupid, Like we
could send a group of high school kids, like not
even like the best high school kids in the planet,
just the best seven on seven like under fifteen team
in the state of Texas. Like it doesn't even have
to be nationwide, it doesn't have to be regional. You
could pick one of five states instead a bunch of
fifteen year olds. Like what are we doing talking about

(24:19):
NFL athletes doing this? Like it's just like, like, come on,
why don't you give them to have a skills competition
like they turned the damn Pro ball into and let's
let's play other countries in that. Like I don't I mean, really,
I don't know that Jason nothing from.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Me, Jason Locking for our guest to Jason Smith or
with Mike Carbon live from the tirec dot Com studios.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
I thought you'd like my group of Death thing. Now
that's pretty funny.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
I mean yeah, yeah, like you how many you couldn't
could you even do a twelve team tournament? Like and
even the remotely quasi serious about it, like it's just
the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
I will let let's get back, you know, other places
in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
KI competition. Well, yeah, I got in the Olympics. Andy Reid, No, no.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
No, we haven't seen that enough. We just keep showing
that Andy Reid video.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Over Hey, it's Andrew Reid.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
Yeah, yeah, you could just send that version of Andylon,
that version five of them over there. Let them take
the business.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
We're sending five Andy Reids, five five.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Year old Reid, like nineteen seventy eight. Yes, let's ai
that up and then let them take care.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
That's the spin off of Mickey seventeen. It's not Pattinson anymore.
It's Andrew Reid.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
All right.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
So I didn't know how much I would enjoy this,
but I am enjoying it very much because this is
the earliest quarterback Derby that I could ever remember paying
attention to with everything going on in Cleveland and the
way the Stefanski says, well, it's going to be Flacco
and pick it are going to compete, and it's gonna
be Sanders and Gabriel going to compete in and every

(26:00):
here's what Sanders does in seven on seven. Like I
didn't know how to feel about it, but I can't
get enough of it, man, because we have a quarterback
Derby going on and it's May and that's fantastic.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
Yeah, it's it's gonna be a different level of scrutiny
now and I and look there is there's They don't
get to have these guys on the field unlimited time,
like we all know two days got done away with
a long time ago, and a lot of these drills
like they're special teams and there's special situations that's only
going to really involve the starter. So like the three
other quarterbacks, like there's not that much work to go around,

(26:34):
Like you have time constraints, you have things you're trying
to accomplish, certain sessions and more geared towards the defense,
and they're gonna want to be tested by the ones.
Like there's a lot that goes in today, so you know,
there's only so many snaps, there's only so many reps,
there's only so many hours in the day, and there's
only so long you can keep them on the field.
So yeah, everything will be obsessed about and everything will

(26:57):
be picked apart and I sected, and yeah, it's kind
of interesting. So I mean, I don't know any of
them are any good, but like, I don't know that
i'd want to go to war with any of them.
Like Placco to win like one playoff game and he's
totally rested and comes in off his couch. Yeah, like

(27:18):
Flacco for week one to try to help me navigate
an eighteen week gauntlet.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Super Bowl champion Joe Placco, as you were calling, hey,
Orioles winners of three straight. Uh, you know, folks starting
to get excitable or is it still sky's falling?

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Dude? Do you know how the standings work?

Speaker 1 (27:37):
And as I'm a white Sox guy, so yeah, I'm
very very well well versed in that.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Yes, yeah, I it's over. They need to sell people
and get real about the future and fire the GM
like that. Yeah, yeah, that's nice. One today looked good today.
I mean, hey, like the pitching starting pitching all of
a sudden has come around. I still don't really believe

(28:06):
in this lineup. Hope we'll see he's up. I would
say him tomorrow. I would I would say him tomorrow because.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
They've won too many games. All right, it's gonna come
back to us now. We've won too many games in
a row. I hear you, I hear you.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Check him out on Twitter at Jason lock and for
Washington Post one of five seven the fan in Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Of all the great lines, all the great.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Points you made in the last few minutes, people are
gonna walk away and go second game of the lacrosse
semifinals four and fourteen in the championship game, Jaylen, awesome.
So I'll never forget that one man. I'll put that
in my next next Memorial Day.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Three hundred and sixty days from now, when you can
put it to years.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Yeah, I'm gonna set a timer on my phone so
I get I'll get it in three hundred and sixty days.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
We're all good.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Yeah, perfect, see you, buddy, fun, Thanks Jason. I mean,
think about that the last eighteen lacrosse because of course
Cornell winning the National Championsip today in lacrosse beating Maryland, Maryland,
knocko out here on Saturday. You play this second game
on Saturday four and fourteen in the last eighteen National Chip.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
That's like whoa, whoa, that's like gold.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Like you get here in a stat like that, and
then you just go find your uh your local online
wagering worst than the way you.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Go gold Jeriot's Gold.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Speaking of gold, we are into the fourth quarter in
Game four of the Western Conference Finals. For an update
on this and everything else with what's trending in the
wide world of sports, Martin Whites has it for U.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Sammed up. What do you got? My friend Terren Shannon at.

Speaker 6 (29:34):
The free throw line. He's now the score ninety two
to eighty nine. They've got good minutes out of Terren
Shannon in Game three and four of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Speaker 7 (29:42):
He has eight points right now.

Speaker 6 (29:44):
It's a good thing too, because Anthony Edwards has only
taking seven shots. He's got ten points thus far. So far,
this is under eleven minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Timb Wolves also being lead and scoring well, being Leaden
scorned by Dante DiVincenzo, Nikaile, Alexander Walker and Jayden McDaniels.
It's been those guys because Anthony Edwards again only seven
shots ten points. Julius Randall even less five shots one

(30:06):
for five, Hope for two from three for five points.

Speaker 7 (30:09):
The MVP of the NBA, Ja Gildis.

Speaker 6 (30:11):
Alexander has twenty nine points right now, two for seven
from three to eleven for twenty five from the Florida
j dub jayaln Williams with twenty two, Chet Holmgren ads fifteen.
Everybody else for Oklahoma City in single digits again, the
score at ninety five to ninety one, ten eighteen left
in the fourth quarter. Minnesota trying to tie this series
up two to two in the Western Conference Finals Eastern

(30:33):
Conference Finals, Carolina trying to keep their series alive. Florida
leads that series three games to none. With two minutes
left in the third period, Carolina has a one goal lead.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Oh make it two nothing, Martin Wise, the streak is
gonna end for us.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
We're gonna win the first Eastern Conference Final game since
I was in my thirties. There goes Carolina.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Two nothing, they're gonna break that streak and it's gonna
be three one, but still the streak is over.

Speaker 6 (30:57):
Well, Jason Smith took care of that one, so I'll
go ahead and on the baseball.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
He let me take care of baseball for you.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
I love sacrifice flies by the best players on the team.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
Shut up, I love one.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
I love Francisco Lindora's sacrifice flying the ninth Mets beat
the White Sox, and you should be happy for me.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
It's about to say Francisco Lindor in the Battle of
the Jason Smith and Mike Harmon bawl.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Yeah, I'm happy. My bullpen continues.

Speaker 4 (31:23):
And here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Your team is going nowhere. Yeah, you know that you're
just a run of the mill, bad team. My team
has hopes and dreams. You should want your team to lose.
To mind, it's all bad for me to be happy.
Right now, we're record holders for futility. It's about to
be eclipsed by Colorado.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
You see what the Rockies are doing right right I
was helping Martin was helping them out with his updates.
I appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (31:45):
We got two games in actually right now, Marlins lead
to fare three to two.

Speaker 7 (31:49):
Top of the eighthing abouttom of the fourth inning.

Speaker 6 (31:51):
Yankees lead the Angels four to one again in the
Western Conference Finals, ninety nine to ninety four. That's just
under nine minutes and thirty seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 7 (32:02):
Now you two bicker among yourselves.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Ah, thanks very much, Mark appreciated, Buddy. The Jason Smith
Show with Mike coming. Oh it's three nothing now, Oh
it's three nothing. Nobody beats us sixteen straight in the
Eastern Conference Finals. Nobody, nobody to carry any of these
goals over, not at all. But it doesn't matter. It's
about because that would be nice. By the way, two
emptying head goals. They all count now, look just the

(32:28):
same like club side top shelf, Jason.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
Yeah, what you got, friends? What does it mean? The
Panthers got you right where they want?

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Well, hey, I'm just happy to win one.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Let's let's end this streak at fifteen street losses in
the Eastern Conference Finals, which is going to happen now
the series will go to Game five coming up next.
We got the play of the day coming your way,
and evidence that one team in the NBA playoffs that
you think is really confident seems to be running scared
from their opponent.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
That's next right here, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven

Friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
No avoiding It, thunder.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
You know.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Funny thing. My wife this weekend went to hermosappear. She
goes with the friends.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
Every year.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
They have big eighties bands that play hermosa Yeah right crazy.
She goes down, not happy with the bands this year.
Wasn't happy. Wasn't happy. Could have said Hans said and
said here.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
Well, I didn't know you were there. I wasn't here.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
I didn't but I'm right down the street. I would
have met you for saying which I was. I said,
I wasn't there. I didn't go cold, I didn't go.
And so she goes here. They're playing all these songs
at Stink and she sends me here watching and I
watch and they're doing they're doing this song.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
I'm like, well, yeah, I fell for that. I feel
like I rickrolled. Yeah, yeah, she rickrolled me. She rick
rolled one hundred percent. Unbelievad shot out, Pam, nice work, Pam,
no is that with a D or.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Time out for the play of the day. Brought to
you by tire Rack. For over forty years, tire Rack's

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Well.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
When you score the goal that ends a near twenty
year drought in the Eastern Conference Final, you get to
be the play of the day.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
They have the Eastern Conference Final stave off prolimination tonight, dear.

Speaker 7 (34:36):
Stank COVID.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
A shot start, there was Hurricanes Radio Network or Kenny ALBERTNT. Rather,
Hurricanes win three nothing, two empty net goals. Thank Oven
with a big goal. Uh great shot short side up
over the shoulder, and Carolina keeps the Eastern Conference Final alive,
winning for the first time. I'm in this round of

(35:01):
the playoffs since two thousand.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
I thought they were good. They're good. They're okay. Here's
the thing. We're good.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
We're just good enough to get to a point where
you think we could be great, and then we're not.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
No good to great, right, I mean there's there's a
both sold millions of copies.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Yeah, a lot of people are good. Not one, not
one time? Could could we win one game in the
East Finals in June first, two thousand and six?

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Long time, man, that is a long time.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
And every time we get there, I'm like, all right,
this could be Nope, nope, oh no, no, we're going
home and for Okay, all right now, but this time
it's good. Oh nope, nope, going home and for but
wait wait no, nope, going home and for you.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
To be fair, I mean, you know, we talk about
my team's futility alongside. I mean the White Sox World
Series victory was a few months prior.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
I mean, it's not a whole lot there, Bob uh So, congratulations,
Way to go Canes.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Uh Now, it's they have to win the next three.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
But let's just do little baby steps, baby steps, right,
just like, what about more.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Baby step the way Jason the Knicks, the Knicks, the
Knicks win more? Really yeah?

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Oh yeah, sure, Sure the Knicks win the next three.
They win four in the finals, so they get seven more. Yeah,
that's how it goes. Although this is going against when
I said, oh, hey, you know I'm not tiving, but
speaking of the Knicks, right, this is of all the
stuff today, this is what made me feel the most
optimistic about Game four. Okay that today the Pacers lifted

(36:25):
the ban of John Halliburton. Right, Halliburton's dad is now
allowed to go to home playoff games. Still gonna stay
home on the road, not gonna get to sit on
the sideline where he can actually walk on the court
and and and be a nuisance. But he's gonna actually
get to be in a suite to watch the Pacers
Game four against the Knicks. You know Halliburton who was

(36:46):
the Pacers band after they eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks. Haliburton
goes out, stands in front of Yannis, trolls him with
a towel. Really bad look. Uh And and so the pacerid, Okay,
we're gonna ban you, but uh, I don't think there's
any co winnis that the ban is lifted right after
they lose Game three and they blow a twenty point lead.
They're running scared. Now, the Pacers are scared. What can

(37:09):
we do to flip the momentum? Hey, let's bring Halliburton's
dad back. That might get Tyrese Halliburton back in a
great frame of mind, get him back to being the
unbeatable to Halliburton like he was the first two games
in the series. Boy, you talk about losing one game.
What can we use? What's the trump card we have
that we could play right now? It'll help us forget Oh,
this will give us an emotional lift. Let's unban Tyrese

(37:29):
Halliburton's dad.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
Pay.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
I see if I see this today and the Knicks
I go. They're scared, they're looking for everything was great,
all kinds of confidence, laughing, choke gestures. Oh, now they're
scared because I again, they could have done this for
game three. Why didn't you do it for game three?

Speaker 4 (37:43):
Right?

Speaker 2 (37:44):
Why don't do it for game three?

Speaker 4 (37:45):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (37:45):
We lost and we need that, we need that little
bit of edge. So let's bring Halliburton's dad becket.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
I'm the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
I'm saying the Pacers are panicking after losing one game
at home.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
It's pal well, you.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
Try to find motivation from wherever you can. If you're
the Pacers, you're hoping for that emotional lift. You're at home,
get some extra juice, and obviously you've had a lot
of celebrities run to his aid and call for him
to be reinstated. Now he'll be in a glass case
of emotion up there in the booth, so it's not
like he's he's out court side and can really create

(38:17):
chaos unless they put him in the mascot outfit and
all of a sudden, there he is at center.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
Card aha back.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
Otherwise, I mean that's a temporary thing. But yeah, if
you're the Knicks right now, you're looking for every bit
of counter that you can. So, yeah, that's bulletin board material.
Hey they're running scared, We've got this back. How much
that actually matters versus getting quality minutes again from Landry
Shammitt and the like, Eh, you decide what.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
The weight is on that.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
I'll give bulletin board one percent, because again they're professionals.
But for the pacers, if they think this is gonna
inject some kind of energy to the crowd or make
Halliburton feel better about his life, both junior and senior,
then have at it. I always said he should have
been a booth anyway away from everybody, and don't make

(39:08):
it an.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Issue because I have one idea that might be even better.
Because I love your idea, but I got one idea
that would be better.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
I'm afraid to even ask.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
Nah.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
You said, Halliburton next to Shallow May. And it's Shalaonay
and John Halliburt shallow May, Shallow May.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Why is this?

Speaker 1 (39:23):
Why is this guy getting shadow May Shadow mayn Haliburton
shallam May shout him May Shadow May?

Speaker 3 (39:28):
And in is he sandwich between him and Spike?

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Uh well, Spike had to get back from from Can
and all this stuff. No, no, you put him next
to shallow May. This this is this is right now?
Uh No, shallow May is better. Shows go go right
to Hanson, Tracy Morgan. I mean we could go on forever.
Well then, and then you can have one of those
cool nicknames like when you know, like Benefer or whatever,
and it would be you know, Shalliburton, Shalliburt, shallibur Caliburton,

(39:54):
Shalla Halliburton, Shalla Maliburton, Shalla Mala Halliburt.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Well, you get him very close to shallow that'd be
kind of.

Speaker 7 (40:00):
Shot dancing in the sheets, dancing.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Why are you trying to punish the guy Shalliburton? Maybe
can sitting next to each other you call it shallibur
Pat and Pen sit in jail. Shadow may shadow hey
shata hey uh.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
We get back into basketball, coming up next to nine
point lead for the Thunder plus a huge devastating injury
in basketball that has rocked the world earlier today. We
get into that next right here, Jason and Mike, this
is Fox Sports Radio. Hashtag Shalliburton
