tirect dot com the way tire buying should be.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Well, we are here.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
In the words of Mike Harmon, I celebrate all two
hundred and seventy two. We are down to one NFL
game left in the season. We're down to one game
and as expected beginning of the season, the Eagles and
the Jets and all Green Super Bowl amazing, an amazing,
amazing run by the Jets, who did it without a
head coach until they officially name their head coach.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Today, you're busting out a crystal ball for next year already?
Is that the Uh, you're just trying to forget what
transpired yesterday and the two weeks of lead up to
this game. No, we're just moving on to the draft
and whatever comes after moving on.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Well, there's only two teams left, and twenty nine teams
are excited about other stuff to It's like, okay, so
we kind of have the yin and yang everything is together.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Yeah, I mean those other thirty teams are onto other, better,
greener Pasturescinniata to fire some people, they get to change
out their rosters. There's going to be a lot of
turnover and chaos.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Now the biggest obviously, Look, we had a lot of
stuff today, and as we mentioned, the Dallas Cowboys had
their press conference today to introduce Brian Schottenheimer. The Jets
had their press conference today full of f bombs. The
Pittsburgh Steelers say, hey, we'd like either Russell Wilson or
Justin Fields back next year. But clearly everybody is still
(02:10):
buzzing over yesterday the AFCN NFC title games, and specifically
the role of the officials in the Kansasity Chiefs win
over the Bills that sent the Chiefs to the Super
Bowl and Josh Allen home again going I just can't
beat the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
I just can't be I don't understand. Now.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Let me just say this, because it before we get
to something bigger than the officials for this game against Kansasity.
Not that Hey, here's another game where a huge call
goes against the other team and for the Chiefs. But
there's the Bills have bigger fish to fry and bigger
things to point the blame at than Josh Allen not
(02:47):
getting the first down on that big fourth and one
play late in the game. Because when you look at
the officiating for this game, the two big calls in
the first half.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Okay, let's break it down.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
You add the non jawing penalty to Travis Kelcey and
the reaction penalty from the Bills. Okay, yeah, Travis Kelcey
probably should have got a penalty, but it's after the touchdown,
you know, the impact of it, Okay, is a little
bit muted. You had the catch from Xavier Worthy that
was not a catch that in order it was not
a catch and interception and then a catch by the Bills. Yes,
(03:19):
big deal, however, but people are forgetting is that even
if that ball goes incomplete, it's still a first and
ten for the Chiefs on the twenty yard line of
the Bills because of the penalty on Tamar Hamlin, which
and no one remembers. Oh yeah, by the way, the
Chiefs declined that penalty because it was called a catchdown
inside the ten. So really what that was is it's
eleven yards of field position on a first down player.
(03:42):
It would have been first down for the Chiefs the
twenty yard line. So not enough to get rid of
the optic clearly, but the impact on the game.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Eh.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Now you want to talk about Josh Allen and the
fourth down play, Yeah, because what really gets me about
it is not that he was that it wasn't overruled
after Allen was because I said, there's no way they
can overrule this, right, It's really hard to see, but
the fact that the official on the on the Chief
side of the field overruled the official on the Bill
side of the field had a better view of the
(04:11):
Josh Allen run where it looked like his body is
over the line, he's got the football, up high on
his left shoulder, So if his body's over, his left
shoulder is over, that's a first down. And I'm like,
I can see that from the video here, and you're
still not You still saw that that was not a
first down.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
But again the.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Official on the bill side saw it, said first down.
Official the chief side comes and says, oh, hey, yeah, no,
that was short. And again here's another questionable call that
goes the chief's way in a big game. I mean,
you can't ignore it, right, you can't ignore that. This
continues to happen time after time. Where we see a penalty,
we see something else. It's well, that wasn't there. At
(04:49):
least you didn't get a big helmet to helmet hit.
That wasn't a helmet helmet hit yesterday, so at least
we avoided that.
Speaker 5 (04:53):
Mike.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Yeah, I mean, in the end, the worthy play, I
probably watched it thirty times. I'm still trying to have
someone give me a definitive response. Is it pinned here?
Does it move there?
Speaker 3 (05:04):
What's that?
Speaker 5 (05:04):
You know? What's it?
Speaker 4 (05:05):
An interception that becomes a catch tie goes to the runner.
What are we talking about here? But to your point, yeah,
you had a defensive penalty. So it doesn't matter with
the Allen play. It goes back to what we've been
arguing with for as long as you and I have
been doing the show, right, the fact that we've got
the eyeball test when there's how many what do we got?
(05:28):
Eight three? What we got about three thousand pounds worth
of men up in there fighting and clawing, and you're
trying to be able to see definitively from the other
side of that, you're claiming you're able to see.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
Where the ball is.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
You know, the posture of where Alan held it, where
his body was like that seemed pretty obvious. So yes,
we'll renew the call for chips, we'll renew the call
for a new way of doing first down markings, et cetera.
But it keeps coming back to the same thing. If
the Chiefs were boat racing people, none of this matters, right,
(06:05):
I remember refereeing, Ayso you ever have to referee any
Ayso no, I.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Was only a coach, you should referee, I said, yep, No,
this is my time that I'm donating.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
I'm coaching. Someone else can refereence.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Yeah, So anybody out there that's gone through this process,
you'll recognize it. Hey, hey, hey, we need enough points,
so we need you to you know, can you volunteer
to referee? Now I didn't want to do it. I'm
soccer is not a game I played or grew up
with or anything. But for the purposes of getting my
kid her points, yeah, I'll do it. Hey, guess what's remaining?
(06:35):
A twelve under boys? That's it. There's my first intro.
Not five year old girls running in.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Good luck. Good luck with that.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Like I made it very clear at the outset of
anything up in the head and neck, I'm calling it.
Yeah that let's go.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Boys are ruthless.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
They are ruthless, and they get mad at me, and
the coach gets mad at me. It ends up being
like a nine to nothing game. So it doesn't matter.
Did I get it all right?
Speaker 6 (07:00):
No?
Speaker 4 (07:01):
Because you train on a grid where you're like a
sky judge, so all of a sudden, being on the
field and trying to pull with that doesn't work. But
in that game doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
It's a blowout.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
In a Chiefs game, they're not running away and hiding,
so every one of those plays gets magnified.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Now look, now, obviously that's a thing, right, I can't
ignore it. Can't ignore this. I'm not saying it's not
a thing because you can only have it happen so
many times before you.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Go wow, continues to happen, continues to happen.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
But here's what the Bills should be worried about more
and be more mad at than oh, hey, you've do
that call.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Because that call.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
I can't quantify it because I don't know what would
have happened if Josh Allen gets that first down. Maybe
the Bills go in and score a touchdown, maybe they don't.
Maybe the Chiefs still score a touchdown when they get
the ball back, maybe they don't. It's hard to quantify.
You had thirteen minutes left in the game, so it
would have been a different game. But I can't quantify
that because it still could have gone anybody's way. What
(07:58):
I can quantify is on McDermott completely blowing the game
for the Bills with his ridiculous two point conversion decisions.
And I really I have to open up. You know,
the the training that I have opened in the off
season for coaches, they're two minute time management, Like I'm
charging like fifteen and twenty grand. You know, a session
now per coach, because they need to know how to
call timeouts and manage the clock inside of two minutes.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Right, And it's great.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Right, everybody flies out to LA, we have a day
of golf, there's team bonding activities. We do real and
we do real live game situations on a field. It's
like top Gun, except I'm teaching coaches how to use
timeouts and not in the final two minutes.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Oh that's good.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
I gotta add to that. I gotta add when to
go for two? Like that's like a new thing that
if you want to stay for like a half day
on Sunday, like if you want to fly out early, great,
if you want to stay for the extra half day
from extra five grand, we can go over when to
go for two points? Because Sean McDermott helped cost the
Bills the game with that ridiculous and it's not getting
(08:56):
paid enough attention to. They're down twenty one, and they're
down twenty one ten and they score a touchdown to
make it twenty one sixteen. Okay, you know what, kick
the extra point, go to twenty one seventeen. There's so
much time left in the game. You have half the
game left. But no, they decide, let's go for two.
Why why are you going for two? The rest of
(09:17):
that game is not gonna be just a field goal, right,
I mean this is this is not in a monsoon
on a field in the rain, in the snow. There's
gonna be more points, right, why are you doing this?
The Bills don't make it, so minus one for the Bills.
Then they score a touchdown to go ahead. What do
they have to do? Then, well, they got to go
for two there because they didn't go for it. Let
they didn't make it the last time. Now it's twenty
two to twenty one. They go for it again, they
(09:38):
don't get it, so that's minus two for the Bills.
So it's twenty two to twenty one. When the Chiefs
score to take the lead, they go up twenty eight
twenty or twenty seven to twenty two. Of course they're
gonna go for two because they have to, right, they
have to because the Bill you know, this game is
only a six point game. So they go for two
and they make it, whereas the Bills just kicked the
(10:01):
extra points. At twenty four to twenty one, the Chiefs
are scoring a touchdown kicking the extra point to go
up twenty eight twenty four. So instead of chasing a
twenty eight to twenty four game, the Bills are chasing
a twenty nine to twenty two game. That's a minus
three I can put minus three points on on Sean
McDermott because of that, And what was the final score
of the game, thirty two to twenty nine. And because
(10:22):
I could do math, how many points is that three?
So hey, yes, that's what Bills fans should be met at.
The ridiculous decisions to go for two just make make
no sense because it's three point. It's a three point
swing because it should have been twenty one seventeen twenty
four to twenty one twenty eight, twenty four, and then
the end of the game goes way differently. Okay, wait
(10:42):
a minute, twenty eight twenty four. The Bills were chasing
three more points than they had to because of those
dumb decisions. I don't get. I don't get why coaches
think we have to do this and go for two
and ugh two and even because it threw the Chiefs
into well, now we have to go for two where
they wouldn't have done it. So that's really if you're
if you're a Bills fan and go what are your
coaching staff? And Sean McDermott decided, Hey, we're gonna make
(11:05):
things even more difficult, right, tough enough to win on
the road in Burrowhead, tough enough to win it, but no, no, no,
we're gonna go do this, and we're gonna go make
it even tougher by going for two and we don't
have to.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Oh and we don't make it.
Speaker 7 (11:16):
No.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
By the way, maybe chef better two point plays because
they clearly don't have good two point plays afterday got
snuffed out that as well, so that I can quantify.
So if you want to be mad at stuff, you've
been mad at the rest as one hundred percent, we'll
be mad at that call. And now it just keeps
happening for the Chiefs. Yes, but be more mad that
your coach cost you with those two point conversion decisions.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Look at you.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I love this.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
After eleven years, the confidence in math you were not
that much.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
I mean, well, the thing is, we're doing low numbers here.
You know, we're topping out of a three.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Still.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
You know I'm not you know, I'm not doing square rooted.
I'm not rain man here, Ray, what's the square root
of one hundred and thirty eight to four point seven points?
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Zero one zero one zero one one.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Yeah, we're writ in.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Code eighty two eighty two, eighty two, two hundred and
forty six. There's four in the bucks there. Oh wow, okay.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
When they scored at the end of the first half
and go for two, my initial thought was right along
the lines of what you laid out of. You're not
shutting this team down altogether. Now they only scored what
eleven more points the rest of the game at that point,
but they think that you're shutting it down or that
(12:24):
you're not going to score again. I get it to
a degree, making it a field goal game. But go
in with the momentum, kick the pat and roll versus.
All right, the last play is a miss. All right,
it's a no go, and now we're chasing those points
(12:44):
coming out of the half. So all of the psychology
of football coming into play here. That and you always
know you're climbing a mountain against the Chiefs, and off
on the side might be, you know, like you're on
the Mada horn, you know, and you've got the you know,
the abominable snowman looking at you. Right, you're in the
Himalayas and here it's the referees. So you're climbing that mountain.
(13:08):
Don't make it any tough for your for yourself, then
you have.

Hey?
Speaker 5 (15:46):
Hey, Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 3 (15:48):
We're good man?
Speaker 1 (15:48):
I mean, and look, I know the best place to
start with you is the officiating from the from the
Chiefs Bills game today. Uh, you know it's it's a
you know it's a thing where yeah, no matter how
you want to cut it up, you can say, well,
here here's another questionable call that goes the chief's way
and they wind up benefiting from it.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
I mean, it's I get it, but it's it's I
don't know. You can't ignore it. You can't ignore it anymore.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
No, I mean you can't ignore it. I mean, I
just think NFL officiating is bad. It has some inherent flaws.
And you couple the nature of the sport that many
big bodies the same size a pitch that New Rocky
(16:35):
played on, right, the grid iron is the grid iron.
It hasn't grown, it hasn't changed, the lack of innovation
and technology. I mean, that's the most stunning thing to me.
I mean, we're on the same field as New Rockney.
We're using the same chain gang as New Rockney. We're
eyeing up and guessing and hoping and praying, you know,
(16:57):
on a whim that somebody can determine in real time,
wear a ball that's seven or five or eight feet
off the ground would have been where it on the
ground at that very moment while it's in motion with
one of those twenty two bodies on the field holding it,
and however many other ones around him obscuring your ability
to see the ball like that, that's where we are.
(17:20):
It's a guessing game. And in terms of these judgment calls,
a lot of that is a guessing game, right, and
that hasn't changed from when people are playing the wing team.
The ball is barely leaving the ground. But that's what
we're living in. And I don't know. I mean, I
(17:41):
don't think it's why the Chiefs one. I don't think
the officials decided the game. I think the NFL every
week gives away I mean, how many yards are just
given away by the eyeball test in an average NFL
we can it's probably more than we care to think
of out again on a field that is not that big.
(18:02):
So I don't know. Man, Like these guys are seventeen
and three in the playoffs like that, That's that's ridiculous.
And I don't think the officials had that much to
do with it.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
Got to beat him in the margins, All right, let's
go to happier times. Brian Schottenheimer is your new coach
for Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
You know, I mean, Jerry doesn't care about who his coaches,
So we shouldn't either, Like we should just ig nor
the cowboy. Don't give him any oxygen, don't give him
any energy. Like if he wants to punt on a
coaching search, then shouldn't we just punt on caring about
how mediocre they'll be this year? Like which degree of
mediocrity will they attain and strive for? Like what outward
(18:47):
projection of mediocrity will he set for them by his
mediocre approach to acquire largely mediocre pleat players for mediocre
prices and free agency. You know, like there, it's just
kind of silly, man. But as long as the fans
are in on the grift, nothing's going to change. So,
(19:07):
you know, I think people need to be smart about
their discretionary incomes. They're not entitled to your money, they're
entitled to your paycheck. You don't know them anything. They
actually owe you quite a bit, especially if you're someone
who's been spending a lot of their money on that
product for oh, I don't know, the last thirty years,
twenty five years. It's remarkable how little he seems to
(19:33):
think certain things matter, like a real front office, a
real general manager, and a real head coach, and you know,
the older he gets, the more delusional he gets. So
it's easy for me to be a conscientious objective people
who are mostly tied to that franchise. I understand it's difficult,
but it's a grift.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Well, that's why I like the fact that the Jets
won the press conference introduction today because Aaron Glenn said,
we're the blake in New York Jets. We're blank and
built for this. That beats the crap out of defending
Brian Shott.
Speaker 5 (20:06):
I will take that over that or over whatever the
hell Liam Cohen was doing. Yeah, I mean, ever rote bar.
But Aaron Glenn and Pete Carroll can at retandle a
press conference, which I'm not sure about too many of
these other guys.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
The Pete Carroll hirings, but probably one of the more
fun ones we've got going here. Can he and spy
Tech get this team back in the right direction? Obviously
a big leap to be had in a very difficult division.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
Well, it is a difficult division, and there's there's great coaches,
and there's seemingly, you know, maybe the greatest quarterback of
all time, and two other quarterbacks who look pretty gone
good lately, you know, and I know Herbert had his
playoffice is but any guys played two playoff games, he's
pretty good. And that was a hell of a rookie
season for Botnick. So yeah, good luck Pete Carroll. You
(20:57):
don't have one of those. You've got some serious issues
on your roster and you're seventy three years old. There
will be a degree of decorum, right and professionalism, and
like they'll they'll check a lot of boxes and you know,
I don't think they'll be getting blown out. And I'm
(21:18):
sure he'll restore some order in some ways. But man,
they got a long way to go. Like that's just
a that is a rebuilding team. There's no other way
to couch it. And they're rebuilding with you know, somebody
who I know he is internally young, and I know
he's got more energy than me and my dogs and
(21:39):
my kids combined. And I get it, but oy oh boy,
that's just an odd choice to me. It just for
where they are as a franchise. It's but you better
get the quarterback fast, you know what. You can't wait
like and I don't know where he's coming from. Maybe
they move up the draft. Well know, it'll be fascinating.
(22:01):
But I don't think it'll be a reunion with Russell Wilson,
but you never know. Maybe it is who knows.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Well the best quarterback is still the owner. I think
you're in trouble when that's when that's the case.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
There you go, that's the problem.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
Now speak speaking of owners, this is my favorite story
of the day.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
J So Steelers owner president Art Rooney said today that hey,
the Steelers have to get a quarterback, right, that's its
number one priority and its preferences to bring back either
Justin Fields or Russell Wilson next year. No, no, just
one of them. Like, we'll bring one of them back.
I don't know what, as long as we have one
of these guys. Like, oh my, this is how now
you know how how the Steelers wind up with quarterback
(22:39):
because this is how the decisions made. The owner says, yeah,
we'll bring one of the guys back, which one I
don't know, just but just one of them, that's cool.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
I'd suggest the younger one. That's what I would see.
Just I yeah, I mean, well, look, they're in a
bune like we just talked about, you know, Sam Donald,
I mean, do you think that's better Aaron Rodgers going
not going down that road. I mean, I don't know
who is, so what what are your other options? They've
(23:08):
won way too many games to draft one. I mean, trade,
try to trade for Malik Willis. You know what I
mean is that is that a younger ish version of
Fields And you know, I think he's more to the points.
More people in this league feel like he's made a
(23:28):
leap with Lafloor in the last couple of years. But
I mean that that's not That's not a short thing
by any way, Stretcher or form. I don't mean, what
are there, like, what are they supposed to do? I
don't I don't know how they're supposed to upgrade a
quarterback like Cousins. I mean, do you think that's an upgrade?
I mean he looked like Ross. He looked cooked. So
(23:49):
for me, I would be I would be in the
Justin Fields market. I would.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Jason locking forward with US Odyssey and the Washington Post
with US as he is each and every week. So
as we go into the six, I mean, is there anyone?
I mean, Schottenheimer's the obvious. You know, he's in the building,
you know, continuity, whatever, So maybe they feel comfort there.
But you know, if we always have one and done's
(24:18):
and Jerry doesn't fire guys quickly, So seven straight years,
who's the guy that's going to lose his job after
one year?
Speaker 5 (24:27):
I it's William Cohen. Thing's gonna be really interesting. I
don't somebody's six different places six straight years? And how
like that to me would be a red flag. And
talking to people around the league, they kind of see
it as a bit of a red flag. One and done.
(24:51):
I mean, I don't know. Could the Raiders be such
a disaster that Pete Carroll's like, you know what, I
actually am seventy four years old and I don't have
this and me we're two or three years away. Whoever
the Saints Hire could even got in a year? I
mean just sort of by default. I don't know the
(25:13):
whole everything around that. Jaggs higher gives me a little
pause like that. And who was shot? Khan ever picked?
Who's been any good?
Speaker 3 (25:24):
All right? Jay?
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Lastly here we got obviously we're gonna have some time
to get through this. But getting to the Super Bowl.
We talked about the Chiefs moving on and what they
are in the playoffs. Early thoughts on the Super Bowl.
You're ready to make a pick? Is you leaning one?
Speaker 5 (25:38):
Chief money line? Baby?
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Seventeen and three. There's seventeen and three in the playoffs.
Patrick Mahomes is don for fifty five hundred yards in
the playoffs. It's that what forty feet passing touchdowns to
nine interceptions in the playoffs. He's three and one in
the Super Bowl. He's eleven and two against the spread
(26:03):
in his career in the playoffs when he's either the
underdog or favored by five points or less. He's got
the better special teams. He's got I think as good
of a defense or close enough to it. I think
he's got the better defensive coordinator. I think he's got
the better head coach. This is they are a They're
(26:26):
a unique football machine, and they are just geniuses at
manipulating situations, surviving situations, navigating situations, and finding a way
to be one point better than you at football. They've
got the better kicker. Like I think they're winning. I
(26:48):
think this has been their manifest destiny. I think they
have been completely aligned to make this happen. And I
mean he's also eight nine in his career against Nick Fangio.
That's that yeah, I think they're winning this football gaint.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
He's on Twitter at Jason lock and for that is
at Jason lock and for Odyssey Washington Post one O
five seven.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
The fan in Baltimore, j is always appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Man.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
We will talk to next week.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
Enjoy the week, look forward to it, gentlemen. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
There he goes.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
I'll tell you, you know, seeing already already, I was
waiting for the super Bowl LICKX jokes. But I guess
they're gonna be a couple of days away, Mike, because
I really thought we'd get a whole day of licks jokes.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
Now you got a couple more days.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
You think you gotta build it up. You got two weeks, okay,
all right, But.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
I thought that would be the easy one right out
of the gate, would be the LIX jokes.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
Nah, too many uh, too many things to cry about
about officiating and hatred of the chiefs. Oh okay, well
I mean that so that burns, that's.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Gonna get that's gonna go for two, that's gonna go
for two. Hey, yeah, chiefs. That for two weeks.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
But but that'll that'll, you know, take that down to
a simmer and then we'll we'll ramp up some of
these other things.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Nah, the world is all Eagles fans now, e L
G S E s. They're all Eagles fans. Can the
Eagles save us because the Bills let us down?
Speaker 4 (27:59):
But see they're so hateable? Like how many videos did
you see of them harassing Washington fans leaving the stadium
Yesterday's like you're a bunch of dirt bags.

The reference, by the way, to the news conference, and
there there were news conferences galore around the country for
new NFL head coaches in Las Vegas for Pete Carroll,
Aaron Glenn with the Jets, Brian Schottenneimer with Dallas who
will call the offensive plays? And the guy who's gonna
call the plays for Jacksonville, Liam Cohen, of course, inspired
a generation of Jaguar fans with this call out ball.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Okay yeah, his his presscott was like an episode of
Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
That's really what it was like.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
Like Wizzo from the Old Bozo Show.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna get into that because there's
we had. I mean, the fact that the Cowboys we're
gonna do the Jaguars press conference before the Cowboys, and
the Cowboys was really bleep and entertaining.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
That tells you how good the Jaguars press conference was.
Make a statement.
Speaker 6 (29:49):
The Cowboys did interview Matty Refluse for defensive coordinator. By
the way, new Orleans was due to interview Kellen Moore
tonight for head coach. New England's new tight ends coach
is Thomas Brown from the Bears and the Baltimore Ravens
are reportedly finalizing an extension with offensive coordinator Todd Monkin.

Speaker 6 (31:13):
One of those Arnie Spaniards, I will walk home from whatever.

Oh yeah, one of the players vomiting and now one
of the students student section famous at Cameron Indoor. Yeah,
somebody passed out. They actually seem to carry her off
the court and delay the game. Now there's two minutes left.
Duke cup by four.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
But a lot's been going on. Yeah, I mean, is
that that RSV going around now? Is at that time?
Speaker 5 (33:49):
Like?
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Is that is that the been a thing?
Speaker 5 (33:51):
You know?
Speaker 6 (33:51):
I I know there have been changes in some areas
in the country. Vaccines are still available.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Okay, all right, just for the sure, because I know
last year there's always one time year the RSV comes
around and it's like devastating, like one of every four
people gets it and it's like last year. Yes, it's terrible,
Oh my goodness. But yeah, but look we should we
should play the cribbur enthusiast music, because that's really, it's
really what Liam Cohen's press conference with the Jaguars was today.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
And he's not an imposing looking for the book.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
No, no, he's not, he's not. Look, this is of
all the press confers. I can't believe we're doing the
Jaguars first. But it was just that good Liam Cohen, who,
of course you remember as being you know, I'm not
gonna leave the Temp Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
I'm staying.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Oh no, no, sorry, I'm leaving for an interview under
the cover of night. I will become the Jaguars head coach.
If you fire Trent Balky. Oh, Trent Balkey is fired,
I'm the Jaguars head coach. So a little bit of
a weird path to how becoming a head coach. And
today the Jaguars introduced their new head coach. And you know, hey,
something that I think we all learn at some point
(34:54):
in our lives.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Honesty is the best policy.
Speaker 7 (34:58):
Certainly is, and that's that's really what this is gonna
come down to, his honesty.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
I want to surround.
Speaker 7 (35:03):
Ourselves with people that are going to be able to
tell you hard truths be able to show you your
blind spots, because that's really, like I mentioned, where growth
occurs when you can truly be yourself and be honest
with looking in the mirror knowing that that process to
get you there was clean and it was right, and
the results will speak from themselves.
Speaker 6 (35:22):
So this is why he's never joining the Cowboys front office.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Right, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
I mean I could picture Larry David saying those exact
same things, exactly honesty we want oh oh we want
all okay, great, we want honesty?
Speaker 3 (35:35):
Well great, yeah, can I just explain that chance? How
does that sound?
Speaker 6 (35:43):
You know? That's what they chanted. It's the county there
in Jacksonville. A million people live there.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
It's part of the rallying.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
Crime like that.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Yeah, of course it's meant.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
To be a rallying cry to actually, you know, excite
the fan base that just hired you.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
That I think may have had the opposite effect. That
sounded like a.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
Guy who you know, grew up in Rhode Island and
is a former assistant coach at Rhode Island, Brown UMass and.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Maine, which Liam Cohen is. Yeah, like he can we
hear the new Yeah, like you know where that sounds right?
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Like if I say this, if I said, okay, Liam,
who is your favorite character from The Godfather Paccino Brando
or is it someone else?
Speaker 4 (36:27):
Who?
Speaker 5 (36:27):
Was it.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Duvall?
Speaker 6 (36:33):
Okay, he would add the sentence he was my favorite
character in Godfather?
Speaker 3 (36:37):
Shreed. It's almost like he's trying to be a ghost. Yeah,
exactly when is that? Maybe he's trying to get Sam
Darnold to come to that. It's more like a Gilligan's
Island episode. Who Duvall?
Speaker 4 (36:51):
WHOA?
Speaker 3 (36:52):
I'm a good ghost?
Speaker 6 (36:54):
Well, after all, he was kind of a ghost of
an offensive coordinator with the Rams because we all know
who the play was.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
But he is going to call the offense with Jacksons
he is. That's good?
Speaker 1 (37:04):
Well, look he was, he was. He pulled a big
power play just to get there. You would think that.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
Okay, one year of that offense, so Tampa Bay gets
in that, you bet.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Look, Baker Mayfield through forty touchdowns all the guy doesn't
have a good resume.
Speaker 6 (37:15):
He's teaching Bobby Slowick what he should have done a
year ago with the Texans, a guy who's now out
of a job.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
But we don't know if any of these guys were
big on honesty or not. We really don't. Uh, here's
the next Liam Cohen about the process and trusting the process,
but pulling his best saying we're gonna we're gonna trust
the process with what's going on in Jacksonville.
Speaker 7 (37:37):
The opportunity to coach in Tampa was was a phenomenal
one to get my feet wet in the NFL as
the offensive coordinator, and I thank them so much for
that opportunity. As you continue to do more research and
gaining more information as you go, it started to become,
you know, more clear with every hour that this was.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
An opportunity he just can't pass up, and.
Speaker 7 (37:58):
You ultimate, I want to do, truly what's best for
you and your family, and that's what this came down to.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
That was very telling by the way he got his
feet wet with Tampa Bay as offensive coordinator, even though
that was the exact same.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
Title he had for Sean mcphagy.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Yeah, but I wasn't really the offense, not because I
wasn't really calling the plate.
Speaker 6 (38:20):
Didn't get it raised, didn't even get a free lunch
on Fridays.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Sometimes, I didn't even have a headset on during the game.
And when I did have a headset on, it wasn't
it wasn't plugged in, it wasn't talking to anybody.
Speaker 6 (38:29):
But yet again, anyone who has shaking hands with Sean
McVay very successful.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
That's all I look. And now he's now he's a
head coach. Now he's the head coach. Have either of
you guys been to Jacksonville? Yes, I have family and
jackson I have not. You're not missing a damn thing.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
America's most boring city. Wow, my family will kick your
ass rossberg ring it.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
There is.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
There is the Jacksonville Landing. There, there is the the
Ripley's believe it or not, in museum. I mean, that's
that's things downs. That's it, guy, that's a big deal.
Speaker 5 (39:01):
Man.
Speaker 6 (39:02):
When Andy Reid's Eagles were in Jacksonville for a Super
Bowl twenty years ago, do you recall that Jacksonville was,
let's say, called out for not being that big a
place and not having that much going on because that
was the Super Bowl where in order to have enough
hotel space to host such a huge event, they just
parked cruise ships on the coast and say can you
(39:24):
just sleep there?
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Please?
Speaker 1 (39:26):
When I tell you it's America's most boring city.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
I mean it.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Well, at least the players wouldn't get into trouble, right,
there was no Trump players. Again, trug hard to get
in trouble in Jacksonville. It's pretty tough.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
You know.
Speaker 6 (39:38):
If he could just hire Brandon Staley as his defensive
coordinator and then coach Trevor Lawrence, you could have both
the first half and the second half of that playoff
game in the same team.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
I like that. Have I worked pretty well. I like
to see.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
But that's all I'm gonna think of, is that. I
mean all of this stuff. That's what I'm gonna think
of is I'm gonna have nightmares. I'm gonna hear go
to sleep tonight and I'm gonna hear dude who said that?
Who's here?
Speaker 3 (40:07):
Jason?
Speaker 1 (40:07):
You're a passed that you didn't get him. You're upset
you didn't get Liam Cohen's you're in code. I'm very
upset we didn't get Liam Cohen. Yes, I'm very upset
about that. America's most boring coach in America's most boring city.
I was ready to tell a reporter you're you're in
the will. I don't want to be in the will.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
You're in the will?
Speaker 3 (40:26):
Is urban Meyer available as like a consultant?
Speaker 4 (40:30):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
I called him right before I got He's still on payroll,
he said. Whatever I did, do the opposite. That's how
you're gonna work at Jacksonville coming up next. You're gonna
hear that du Well all night, aren't you? The cowboys speaking?
Oh boy, do we have to listen?
Speaker 3 (40:45):
Jason Smiths
