(00:49):
it was Bill Paxton in The Great Aliens from nineteen
eighty six when he was cornered by the Aliens. He
pulled out that gun. He kept saying, you want some, cup,
get some? Hey say this tonight, you want some, Sean Payton,
you come get some. We'll see you in week five.
You want something, you want some to Russell Wilson you
want some, We'll see you in week five. We'll see

(01:10):
you week five, that's seventy three days. We will see
you in seventy three days. You want some of this smoke,
Sean Payton, You don't want this smoke. You wouldn't be
talking about how you're changing cultures if things were going
that great in Denver. You don't want the jet smoke.
You gotta sit there and take That's whatever smoke you
have in Denver. That's your smoke.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Man. You don't want our smoke. You don't want this smoke.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Shows you how much being in the media for a
year can rot your damn brain. I need to have
hot takes when I meet with the media.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
First time.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
I'm gonna talk about this gambling policy and what a
pile of blah blah blah. And that was his first
talking boyt yesterday. It's like, yeah, hey, Sean, it's like
eleven guys out of sixteen hundred, shut the hell up
and do the math. Okay, everybody else figured it out.
Those eleven guys dumb. Okay, everybody else figured out the policy.

(02:03):
As for today, yeah, man, you just what do you
want to do? What do you want to talk about? Well,
I'm gonna tell you what a miserable operation it was.
I mean, this sounds like Doc Rivers absolving Blake Griffin
of all blamed. It's not Blake's fault. Right, For years
we've been playing that quote. Say think, oh, no, no,
Russell's my guy. I mean, it wasn't him. Never mind

(02:24):
the office on the second floor, never mind all the
people in the room, and that we had open access
to everything around him. No, no, no, it was all
hackets fault. Let's just pick fights. Yeah, I love it.
It's good for business, good for hot take nonsense. Just
remember you're in the AFC West. You're in for a
year of hell. Good luck.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
You think he's sitting.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Around right now, going, oh, I'm not in the media anymore. Oh,
this is not going over how I thought it was
going over because he looks awful after this today, he
looks so.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Awful and so low class. I can't even tell you.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
Well, the other part of it, Jason, is that he
in doing all this.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
It's like you went into broadcasting because you just won
three Super Bowls and it wasn't a challenge anymore. Last
I remember Drew Brees' kid, you couldn't walk when he
was holding them up with the earphones when they actually
won the Super Bowl. That's a lifetime ago.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
This he looks terrible. He looks absolutely awful because he broke.
He broke kind of the unwritten rule of coaches. Don't
really rip other coaches, right they just don't do that,
the brotherhood of coaches.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
They just don't do it. Right now, I'm not saying
he shouldn't have done it. I'm not here. He looks
Say what you want to say, be who you want
to be.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
No, I appreciate what you giving us.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
That's great.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Say what you want to say, and and that's fine,
but understand that you don't get freedom from responsibility.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
You know, I've said what I said. No, no, no, Now.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Everybody else gets to say what they want to say.
And you look terrible. You look like you're bitter, and
you know what, Honestly, he looks like he's jealous. He
looks like he's jealous that Aaron Rodgers and the Jets
are getting all this attention in the offseason. And he
has gone on record not liking Aaron Rodgers' body language.
Things going on that whole year in the media, all
last year in Green Bay. He looks like he is jealous.

(04:17):
He doesn't like Aaron Rodgers, and he's jealous that of
all the attention the Jets are getting. Every single day
it's a Jets headline. Are the Jets gonna do hard knocks?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Are they not?

Speaker 1 (04:27):
He talks about all the Jets doing hard I've seen
that with teams before the NFL made the Jets do it.
The Jets didn't say yes, The Jets didn't say, hey,
we volunteer with that first team. No, they made them
do it, right. He's reinventing things as he goes along
because he's mad. Because he's mad that why am I
not getting the attention taking over here in Denver as
I try to redo Russell Wilson's career. I mean, that's

(04:48):
exactly what it looks like. Wait a minute, Why are
you not talking about me?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Why? Why? Wait? Wait?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Did all this Jets say, I'll tell you we're doing
everything different this year in Denver than Nathaniel Hackett did.
He blowed torched everybody today in the interview he did
about how the Broncos were run last year, how from
the top of the organization down. I think he even got
in the public relationship them, and he just torched and
a lot of people still work in the building that

(05:13):
he torched that he was so mad about.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
And I'm saying to myself, what is his purpose here?
What is his purpose?

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Because he looks jealous and it looks like I want
to get this narrative out there that we're changing things,
that things need to be changed. Why is that narrative
out there? If things are going okay? Right, that's the
two biggest things. He's jealous and why does he have
to do this if things are going okay? Cause the
things are going okay in Denver and you're gonna win
a lot of games, and Russell Wilson looks great, and

(05:40):
the offense looks great, and you love Jerry Judy and
Courtland Sutton, everything you got going on. Hey, we got
healthy running backs coming back. Hey, we're If you're feeling
like that, you are just doing your thing and you're
gonna hit the regular season, start winning, and that's when
things start falling your way. Hey, look at this job
Sean Payton is doing. Denver's getting a lot of attention,
but right now he is trying to pick up Russell

(06:00):
Wilson's career from the scrap heap.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
If it was.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Going well, If things are going well in Denver, then
would he would be silent, He would not be seen.
He would not feel the need to go on a
podcast and light up the organization and say, last year,
we are doing things right, which is what Sean Payton did. Oh,
by the way, just to give you a quick recap
a recent podcast Sean Payton did talking about how the
Broncos are doing everything one hundred and eighty degrees differently

(06:25):
from how things were done last year under Nathaniel Hackett.
Everything is different. Russell Wilson's people aren't in the building.
He blamed everybody from the public relations apartment up to
the top of the of the food chain that they
did things the wrong way. Now they're doing it the
right way. And he also said, wait and see what
happens to the Jets, who, oh, by the way, happened
to have Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator. I've seen

(06:47):
teams try to win the offseason like the Jets have.
They're doing hard knocks. I've seen how this goes. He
decided to take a blowtorch today because he's jealous and
things aren't going well. Because I guarantee you if things
were he wouldn't be doing this, he wouldn't have done
what he's done over the last couple of days.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Yeah, I would say that There's a couple of pieces
to it for me, is you know he had gotten
a lot of celebration and fanfare upon his hiring, right,
because we can all agree, and Peyton's not saying anything
we didn't all last year in terms of the clown
show that was being perpetrated, going back to Opening night
in that game against Seattle, right and your quarterback, and

(07:27):
I put a lot of it on Russell Wilson, just
like I had on Rogers, not overruling Lafloor, saying look,
I've been here, I've done this, I've won. That kicker
stays on the damn sidelines, give me my chance, Look
at my history, here's my resume, all of those things.
But he's been very clear about changing up. We use

(07:47):
the word culture a bit loosely in all this, but yeah,
changing up how business is operating. Talk about all those
extra people around, talk about media not being part of
training camp, right, live radio shows, no live TV hits, whatever,
You're not there to do that stuff. During Sean Payton's regime,

(08:07):
wondering how much of a distraction whatever else, just you're
gonna play by these different rules.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
The other part is this is.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
The I'm going to put you on a pedestal, Russell Wilson,
because right now I'm telling you I'm a great coach
and anything that fails is your fault.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
But I'm a wizard. It seems like, so it is
your fault if this blows.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Ready, he's already backing away from making from any kind
of achievements or things are gonna be great this year,
right Like it's I'm backing, like I'm backing away from
this because I'm just brought in. And if Russell Wilson fails, hey,
that's a mark on me because I've always done well
with every quarterback I've ever had. And like, look, I
don't see there being any other reason why you would

(08:50):
say this unless you were trying to get a narrative
out there early before anybody really gets into seeing practice
in the summer, and hear, hey, Russell Wilson was really
an act here. Boy, Russell Wilson was throwing the ball
over guy's heads. Russell Wilson had three interceptions in a
seven on seven drill today and he seems like I
want to get this out there before anything else goes on. Hey,
Sean Payton's saying, I had to make a lot of changes.

(09:11):
Things were really really bad and I had to make
a lot of changes. This is usually what you get
from a coach when he feels like he's going to
be fired, where it's hey, you know it's been three
years now, and the coach says, well, there was a
lot that I had to take care of when I
took over that people.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Don't know about.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
I mean, there's lots of things that happened that I
had to come in and then sweep to the side.
It took a little bit longer than we thought, and
you know, I thought it would take less time. But
we're still on a great track. And really, I just
don't want to get fired. And I want you to
think that other things. I'm dealing with a lot of things.
I want you to know I'm dealing with a lot
of things. I'm doing it differently. I'm great. Don't let
any narrative take you the other way, because remember I'm great.

(09:48):
I'm the great one. I'm Sean Payton. I'm greatly because.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
If it works, I'm a wizard, right, you saw how
terrible it was last year, So if it works, I
want to make sure I at my credit. Meanwhile, I've
also said enough to where I'm pointing directly at Russell
and saying it's on you, you know, to make me
look good. I'm gonna get all the credit. I want
all the credit for turning this organization around. But let's

(10:14):
face it, if it fails, you're You're part of the
problem now, Russ, because I'm a wizard and nobody beats me.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
And that's that's where.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
He's headed with all of this, and the old duth
protests too much. And look, it's all calculated. We get
this Peyton planning his seeds and he did the thing
you know about the gambling rules after a player got
suspended from his squad. All of these things, it's it's
the make sure I check all the boxes to show

(10:42):
you I'm the smartest guy in the room. And he
might be right him and Sean McVay. We could have
a Quest Bowl for charity who's the smarter guy and
Kevin James.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
Is the host, but we have that.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
As we roll into this season, you're in a tough division.
I don't know if you necessarily grasp that in the process,
because as bad as they were, they weren't exactly you know,
playing against the you know, the lightweights or in one
of the very easily uh contested and winnable divisions. Takes

(11:17):
nothing away from how poor they were and all the
organizational stuff we heard about, right a quality control coach
coming in right away after early failures on down distance
and getting plays in, you know, looking for the perfect play.
All that stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Uh, there was.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
It was just a a litany of stuff. But I
thought it was funny because I don't I forget it
was the Denver Post or one of the publications there
over the last couple of days, Jason I saw scroll
through my timeline. Uh, they're enjoying a quiet off season
and training camp.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
Start with the spotlights somewhere else. That was the.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
Headline that they had more going in to New York
with all the running backs whatever else, Like nope, nope,
look at me.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Look just think about this for a second. When I
talk about how how low class this was from Sean Payton,
Tell me the last time you heard an NFL head
coach say, hey, the guy that was here last year
was terrible. And the new team he's on right now,
they're gonna fail to tell me the last time you've

(12:22):
heard a coach say anything like that? They don't, well,
besides what beside Sean Payton. But now we got to
know what the beef is. When's the last time beef? Hey,
you want a beef with Robert Salad? Robert Salah will
kick his ass in a fight, Robert Salad if text
the one thing, if it was like coaches in fist
fights to win games, like the Jets would be undefeated
like Roberts say, be seventeen to oh.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
Oh, we get a lot of that slap fights and hey,
I didn't like the way you coached here here here,
and you know.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
Yeah whatever.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
But but it's never personal attacks, right, It's unprompted and
it's under there's it's not like someone saying something or
there whispers out of New York.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Hey, I don't know what's.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Saying. Good luck with that.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
In the side the picture of Russell Wilson with a
smiley fan left it on the desk, Hey, good luck
with this guy.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
Jon Sala had the chance to fight back today, and
you know what he did. He didn't yeah, he looks
so he's not kicking anybody's office.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Solah took the high road. Man Sala took that, which
is fine. You will see you when we can. He
had no comeback.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
We'll see when we like. No, you had a great comeback.
What do we have his comeback? You got it ready?
No play his comeback?

Speaker 6 (13:27):
Loo, come on, Robert Solom He had a pretty.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
What else are we doing?

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Oh no, no?

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Yeah, I mean outside of Otani with a complete game
and two home runs.

Speaker 6 (13:38):
Yeah, I'll tell you that. I'm rooting four week five Jets.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Baby, Yeah, you bet you where your your new legacy
Jets Aaron Rodgers jersey that's coming out. You don't see this.
You don't see any coach ever saying this. And it's
it's not like he had any kind of history with
Nathaniel Hackett. It's not like there was off season war
of words going back and forth. He decided, unprompted, Yeah,
I want to tell you what I think about the

(14:03):
Jets this year.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
I mean, hey, if he ever gets fired, which could happen,
he has a bad year, I'd worry about my job
now because he can go on the radio and gives
some hot takes man, it gives a big time stuff.
That's what I worry about man Sean Payton getting a
job in sports talk radio because if he's doing that
as a head coach, oh, he'll just let it fly
even more as a radio host.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Tell you what. Hanging around with people at Fox for
a year. Look what happened.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
I worry at the end of your first year.

Russell Wilson are doing. I'm so sorry.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Sound pretty sad about it. Didn't always get the work
done in the dark. I mean, did you know? I mean, look,
I'm glad he didn't. You know, just genu Fleck like
everybody else's Oh look at this, he completed an eight
yard in route. Yeah great, I don't need to see
that littering my timeline. I'm muting everybody that retweets that crap.

(15:03):
Stay tuned training camp for crying out loud stop it.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Seventy three days till week five. We'll see you that.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
It'd be two opening weeks for the Jets. There's opening
week and then there's week five. It's gonna be awesome,
It's fantastic.

Speaker 6 (15:14):
Well, dude, do you realize one week from tonight you
guys play two.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Yeah, but night, it's gonna be another month before Aaron
Rodgers actually takes.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
Zach Wilson's been making some throws. Man, job, it looks good.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
He's making Aaron Rodgers job. Hell, it's wait, we could
have a quarterback controversy on our hands.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
Get ready, I mean better than Rogers.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Yeah, it was Come on, Aaron Rodgers threw that sidearm
touchdown to Garrett Wilson two days ago and the Jets
win total jumped from nine to fourteen.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
Come on, man, No, that thing like had magical pixie
dust on it. Man, the way it was spinning, the
perfect rotation. You walked away with the glitter on you
if you caught that ball.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
Let's just hope Garrett Wilson's okay.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Man, everything is fine.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
What a day? Man, that's the other party had a
day of the day.

Just remember Sean Payton as well as all of us here,
we have a mutual friend who really could kick your ass.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Hey, Jake Lader's at my house.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
But wow, what it would be like when what's that
movie with Jason Statham, Where the where the the the
he brings the doorbell. No, no, no where where he
rings the doorbell, and the and the guy goes to
the door and he peeks through the peep hole, and
all of a sudden he just sees he's just Station
Stathum running and kicking the door down.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
That's what I would see. That's what it would look like.
It's Jake la Oh my god, I.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Imagine that's happened in multiple film startings. It was a
chance in the second day in a row with the
state very specific transporter. Maybe is the one it could be.
It wasn't a meg movie because you know that's all
in the.

Speaker 6 (17:39):
Water sounds horrible.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
This was on Wow, look at you, Jason Stathum.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Hot Expendable four theater near you.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
I still, I still can't understand that. Wait a minute.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
He was the worst guy in the world in the
in the Fast and Fury. He was the biggest villain
in the Fast and Furious movies. And then suddenly, oh wait,
now he's a good guy.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
Wall so he's stayed around.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
We just glotzed all over that way. A bite he
killed Han he killed He threw the thing under.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
His car, blew up. Wait now, wait a minute, Oh,
he's now, he's a good guy.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
Let's give this guy a harpoon and a jet ski.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
How great is that trailer for the Meg two when
he's riding the wave with the harpoon about to throw
it in the Meg's mouth.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
That's good, it's good.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
He just has to be aware that the second one
or third one that escaped is there waiting.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Oh, I thought, the next two movies I'm going to
see are Oppenheimer and then I'm gonna go see the
Meg two.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Like those are the next two movies. The ball Man
h Frostburg that people come on. That's like that. That,
that's like so one week see.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
I just like the fact that both of the the
main lead actor actress, we'll call them actors. We're both
batman villains going up against each other. I got Scarecrow
on one side.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
And sure sure much different, much different villains, though much
much different much.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
I mean Oppenheimer, I mean, depending on your point of view,
did he in Oppenheimer?

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Does he put anybody out on the ice? Do you
want death or exile?

Speaker 3 (19:15):
I just exile. I go to the ice, Go to
the ice. You gotta walk on the ice. Twitter, how
about sorry x x x E sad.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
How about a Fresco Mike hat swollen dome the Jason
Smithzer with Mike Carmen Live from the tirec dot Com studios.
So before we get into the big day that show,
Heo Tani had, how about something that just made everybody
stand up? And right now just holding on that hopefully
everything is okay. The video made its way around the

(19:45):
internet like wildfire. Joe Burrow pulling up with a non
contact leg injury during Bengals camp today. He was rolling
out to the right and suddenly just stopped, started walking gingerly.
The good news is and and this is the good
parts about social media. You can see doctors again on
and say things like, hey, the way he's moving his foot,
that's not an achilles injury. And right now it looks

(20:07):
like it is a strained calf or a calf injury
of some kind. Now Burrow was wearing a sleeve on
the calf coming out to practice today. Zach Taylor said
he felt great, everything was good. We'll know more in
a couple of days, but right now it looks like
a strained calf going to keep him out for a
little bit. But clearly dodging the bullet most likely of
the of the more serious injury. And you know, for

(20:28):
all the times I get, I get, I jump up
and down on social media because you know, sometimes Twitter,
social media it's an awful place, man, it is. It
is an awful place. But this is where the best
parts of it were because here's a bunch of doctors who,
even though they're not, you know, treating Joe Burrow, they
could say something pretty smart and incisive right away, like, hey,
look at how he's moving his foot. If that was

(20:50):
an Achilles injury, he wouldn't be able to do that.
So that's good news right there, because right now you're
thinking Achilles and what's going on. So you see that
and you go okay, because now when something like this happens,
I have no patience for waiting until it comes out. Well,
we gotta wait and see. No, I don't want to
wait for the m R. I want to know right now.
I want some kind of doctor to get on television
or to watch this video and to tell me what's
going on.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
I don't I don't want to wait.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
I don't want to sit here and have to keep
clicking and waiting for Adam Schefter to say something I
don't want to.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
I gotta know right now.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
And this is the best part, because it looked like
we knew pretty quickly that this wasn't the most serious
of injuries. And maybe Burrow's out for the preseason. But
let's be honest, was he really gonna play a game anyway?
I mean, maybe he misses some reps in practice for
a couple of weeks, but Joe Burrow's been in the
league a minute, He's achieved a lot, He's pretty good.
As long as this is what everybody is saying it is,
the Bengals are gonna be just fun.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
Yeah, I mean, I'm not gonna lie. I miss the
days of reckless speculation.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
That looks like he might have to lose that leg. Hey,
I'm sorry, it might be. It might be.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
Well, man, it's a game changer, right because you have
literally one segment this morning, whoever and when that broke,
that's it.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
That's all you got. Oh, Joe Burrow's d.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
And then within fifteen minutes the doctors and chime in
with three D minds and explanations of how this all
the human body at work, and to alay a lot
of those fears fantasy owners gripping where they'd already spent
ample auction funds on him or an early round pick,
and there's a lot going on there.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
What happened? It was three minutes ago? Yeah, but is
he okay?

Speaker 4 (22:19):
It was three minutes click click no, no, no, hey man,
the show is now and he left the field on
a cart.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
I kid gets in.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Here and wait, I need some kind of diagnosed. As
soon as he gets on that cart, what is it?
Eventually we're gonna be that way, right with medicine, where
where someone's gonna be out there and someone's gonna go
out there with some kind of.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Device and they're gonna wave in.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
They're gonna wave it over the leg and go oh yeah, no,
that's a strained calf, you're good, or all that's a
torn achilles, or all that's a broken bone in your foot.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
I could see it right here. I'd mean, were the.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
Stick around him that says three to six. Yeah, they
prints out to diagnosis, slapping.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
On the jersey.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
The doctor just turns around and faces the camera and
goes three to six.

Speaker 5 (23:01):
Thrill, Let's go.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
Let's go on an update to our medical advisor on
the field.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
Right now. We just like the official announcing a penalty.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
We have a medical advisor and lip reader to tell
you exactly what is going on on the field right
now with Joe Burrow.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
Based on these early tests, the ligaments, ligaments, ligaments are intact,
intact tech.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
Obviously we're having fun.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
I'm glad that Joe Burrow escaped anything large for anybody
that doesn't get the silliness and sarcasm of it all,
for it was scary stuff, man, yeh, between that, Jalen Ramsey,
your guy Garrett Wilson, like it was a It was
a day where I'm like, I don't I don't want
to look at Twitter anymore. No, I don't know what
I don't know what's coming next. A lot of you know,

(23:42):
this morning was a rough morning. It's like, okay, buckle
in everybody, but it looks like, you know, look for
Joe Burrow, it looks like he's gonna be okay. Trevor
Simmyon'll get a lot of reps in the internet, Oh Gore, Sure.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
But I really I want to know how far away
we are from one of those things that you can
wave over someone.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
I mean, the aliens might have might already have them.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Oh, you might be righty.

Speaker 5 (24:02):
This is how we bridge this together.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Man, Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Would the aliens come in and go oh, I would
have that fixed in like eight seconds, he'd be back
in taking the next snap.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Really, Oh yeah, we are so far advanced, you know.
And here's the other thing.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Why aliens always have to be so much further advanced
than us? Why can't we be the big dog in
the galaxy? Why is it always all the aliens there's
so much more advanced. Why can't they be Hey, we
got lucky, man, We got in a rocket ship and
we went through some kind of hole and I don't
even know.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
What's going on to we We got lucky. We landed here.
Why do Theylwys have to be smarter than Why can't
we be the smartest?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Well?

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Are we? Well?

Speaker 4 (24:33):
I mean, lookats maybe we're going on a trip in
a little rocket ship. No, that's it zooming through the
guy little Einstein's there we go?

Speaker 5 (24:43):
Ah, and he used a love little iron forever.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
All the classical music that you learned because they didn't
have to pay rights for it. But the idea that
you have the the reversal.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Right, Hey, we've set up a colony.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
We're not alone.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
We don't get a lot of those movies. It's always
the aliens coming here.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Yeah, yeah, there's no awaga and anytime we go it's like, oh,
there's they have all the advantage over us. We don't
know where they are, like they're always hidden, Like why
why why didn't we show up into another planet? Oh
that's a big city, right, Well, there's the capitol building
right there. Okay, that's where that's where the aliens are.
Why is always we live under the sand or we
live in caves. We have to go because you can
do that all with c G I.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
Yeah, but as opposed to building a practical set yes here,
I mean all you need to do is, uh, you know,
follow the back to school Rodney dangerfield model. You're not
building you know, uh, you know, erecting a building or anything.
But you need those permits and we know those aren't
gonna be cheap. And you're not dealing with the boy
scouts like.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Why can't all the like why can't uh what was
what's the big city?

Speaker 4 (25:43):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (25:44):
And Guardians of the Galaxy where they or they all?
What's what's the big city of the planet they're on?
In the beginning, Well in the right culvery city where
there's where you don't go to blaze pizza.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Uh, what's what's the titan? Right?

Speaker 5 (25:57):
Is it tight in the city?

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Like why, hey, look there's an alien.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
So people who just walking out and have a hand
and everything.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Yeah, they're just out having a day and there's fountains
and there's people walking around or aliens walk around.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Like why why does it always have to be a
The aliens are hidden, they're not coming out. I think
if it's an alien's planet, they'd be okay being outside.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
I mean, we really did have that cool bar where
Sylvester Stallone says that the horns of freedom will never
never blow for Michael Rooker.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Hmm, that's true.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
We did have that.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Hey, Ravager's got a code man, and like Omar says
in the Wire, man got to have a code.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
There was an alien sighting today in Detroit, Guys, I
don't know if you saw it.

Speaker 2 (26:35):

little bit less than fifteen minutes. But it feels like
they've a superlative every single day, and that shoe hey

(27:05):
Otani continues to out do himself. We're gonna have a
non trade deadline conversation about Otani that's gonna make you
go wow. But just to get you caught up in
case you missed it, here was the day that Otani
had for the Angels in a doubleheader sweep.

Speaker 7 (27:20):
This would be the first complete game shutout.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
And there it is.

Speaker 8 (27:25):
Shoeotani goes all nine, and.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
There it is, first career complete game shutout for the Unicorn.

Speaker 7 (27:36):
The soon to be two time al MVP has never
been better on a big league mound. His first career
complete game shutout. Only one hit, only four base runners.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Oh we got another one, get going.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Otani's got it again.

Speaker 8 (27:55):
Shun about here. Complete game shutout. Check two homers in
the nightcap, check.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Mad veskers, Mark Gooba is on the alien check. Maybe
he's the one.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Maybe that's what Maybe he's a scroll and that's what
it is. Hey, hey, we sent otan.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
You should have known. We sent Otani down.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
The guy can pitch and hit unlike anybody in the
history of the game.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
You thought he was a real person. Come on, man,
he's a cyboard. We put him together in a lab.
It's awesome. Look how good he is.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
Next level stuff right there.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
Man, just watching a little of that, and then it
starts flowing in the timeline, and you know, you've got
fans uploading their videos of the swings, and you know
there's not a huge reaction because you don't have a
big crowd, but certainly in the booth oow, I mean,
you're just going crazy because you just made the big bet.
We talked about the trade as it transpired last night,

(28:51):
me speaking it into existence. All right, white socks are
gonna trade. These guys might as well be to you.
You might as well buy them all. And lo and
behold here we are invigorated. And he comes out and
has a monster day and the odds for his MVP candidacy.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
Good lord, man.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
I mean he was I mean, I watched the game today,
and I'm watching him and he's you know, he's perfect
into the fifth inning and he is getting every call
on the black right, like it's not like a like
he's getting every call and going, this could be it.
And then he just didn't locate a pitch where he
wanted to and the only hit of the game he
gave up was a base at the center field and

(29:31):
you could see him after the pitch shaking his head, going,
that's not where I wanted to throw that ball. And
he was mad because you could tell pitchers can tell, hey,
I got it going today, unlike other days, everything is
on the black, there's no big contact. He just didn't
locate it enough and he just missed or we're talking
about a no hitter for show? Heo Tani.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Yeah, just an amazing outing. And look the huge thing
out of it, Jason, is the last month the pitching
side of things has been been a little dicey at times, right,
a lot of solo home runs served up and some
rough outings. So this was a big one. And look,
do you make all the jokes about the Detroit Tigers,
you still got to go out and beat them.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah, I mean the Tigers are only ten games. Well
now they're twelve games on, they're only ten games under
five hundred. It was still it was still hot. You
were still fighting the elements. It was you know, ninety
five degrees in Detroit.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
You still let some things going on.

Speaker 5 (30:20):
And those guys still got paid to be there today.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
But here's the non trade deadline conversation about shoe Hey Otani. Okay,
so right now he leads the American League in home
runs and he's likely going to win the home run
crown again. He's got a ten home run lead over
the second over the second player. He's four RBIs back

(30:43):
of the lead in.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
The American League.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
So okay, all right, you fair, okay Forbi's back. He
can catch that up. You know, Garcia is having a
big season in Texas. But on the broadcast today it
looks like, okay, Otani's hitting two ninety eight now, and
you know, you have you have guys you know hitting
hitting you know, three fifteen, three sixteen. Yandy Diaz is
leading the league right now, hitting three eighteen, Bobaschetz hitting
three sixteen. Kyle Tucker's been amazingly hot, He's hitting over

(31:07):
three hundred. But Diaz is leading the American League hitting
three eighteen. Matt vest Skurcheon says on the broadcast today,
and this is what made me stop and go, No,
I gotta check that math.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
I got.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
I mean, I know that I I but I gotta
check that math because we're too deep in the season
for this to be true. He was Shoeo Tani six hits.
If he had six more hits than he had right now,
just six. You're talking about one extra bleeder every couple
of weeks, so since the beginning of the season, just
one more bleeder a month. If he had six more hits,

(31:39):
he's leading the American League in hitting. And I said, no,
I got, I got, And I look and I go, damn, skippy.
He was right, And I'm like, Oka, I should have trust.
But I'm like, there's no way six at this point's
got four hundred that batch there's no way.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
No.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
That's how close he is to leading the league and
hitting because you look at him, go ah, he's not
among the league leaders. And dazit in three eighteen, you know,
not a lot of guys are hitting very high for
high averages. Now this year, you know, you see in
the American League they're not above three twenty. It's not
like the you know, it's all like you're looking at
you know, you're looking up up at the top and go,
oh man, it's unbelievable. But he is at a point

(32:12):
there's no Luisa Rayez hitting three three seventy five, but
six hits away, we could be talking about show hal
Tani everything this year. How about triple crown, show Hao Tani.
How about triple crown show heo Tani in this year?

Speaker 4 (32:26):
Yeah, that would take us to a whole other level, right,
because there's only four back of Garcia as the day
he's tied for second in Major League Baseball with with
Matt Olsen, but second in in the al Right, So yeah,
everything within within his grasp with a big run like
trout comes back in September, could have all sorts of meanings,

(32:50):
playoff implications, and just an historic thing that look not
that every day he plays and we get some some
positivity in the box score that it's not, you know,
a record setting kind of moment in historic at this point,
which is why it never made any sense to trade him.

(33:10):
Uh So I'm glad that they that that all that
nonsense is at least is done, uh for this season.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Imagine they traded him now, imagine oh yeah, right now,
now he's hot.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Let's trade him.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
Well, he just broke he broke Aaron Judges home run record.
He's got a triple crown. Oh and he's dealing on
the mound.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Hey, you know.

Speaker 6 (33:31):
It's gonna be such a great Dodger man.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Not only he'll go right from the Angel to the
Dodgers not have to stop somewhere in between, like, oh,
you're you're gonna go You're gonna go playing uh, you know,
play in San Francisco for two months.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
My guys in Baltimore were thrilled they didn't give up
nine hundred prospects for him.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Hmmm x or twitter at how about a Fresco Mike
get swollen dome. Coming up next, we get back into
the biggest story of the day in the NFL.
