Oh no, no, this isn't gonna do it. Uh Dick,
you're connection. No, No, I was getting ready to talk
some hotey. This isn't gonna do it. There, we know
that's what we got right here. Oh yeah, buddy. This
song goes out to Jason Tatum, his end of game
abilities on display, and how is your day? Down? By

(00:54):
twenty we add the Celtics where we wanted them, making
shots left and right, making two free throws to take
the lead. It was out of sight and then everybody
cried at night. Here was Jason Tatum all died up
with a ball getting taken away by bridges.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Again.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
It's Tetum Robinson, John Tatum and Oldlon right to fix
for the next TA got it, so for it New
York has gone up two games to on. Go New York, Go,
New York, Go, Go New York, New York Go.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
What are you doing?

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Frostburg?

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Wait are you? Are you on my side now?

Speaker 4 (01:52):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:52):
But I'm enjoying this more than you. How are you
enjoying this more than me? Celtics are down? Oh too?
Oh that is true.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Go to New York. Yeah, but here's here's the question.
I have to come over at the top of that.
How many Celtics fans do you have in your life?
Mister Frostburg, Like you can't come on top of that.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
No, no, no, no, but you've got You've got the
idea of yeah, I get the history and banners and
let's have an arms race there.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
But you have to deal with Smith when they nix
are good and win in your daily life.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I bet you go through and you don't have to
think about the Celtics much at all. And then you
come here and you're gonna say, go New York, Go,
New York Go. What are you doing to me? Did
he pay you your go New York go? As far
as you know, I did not buy dinner for us tonight.
As far as you know, I did not do that.
That's right.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, I'm probably gonna get my brother evicted from his
apartments as in Chicago.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Just as it was. And uh and and Moncey got
the full Jason experience tonight sounded loaded.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, you yell at me? What was that?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Mon Come on, Monsey got the full Jason with the
end of big game moment when I don't even know
what I screamed when when Bridges took the ball away
again the second game. Every game is gonna end with
Bridges taking the ball away, and Monty was standing next
to me, and she was just excited, like, Moncey bet
on it, Like I really thought you bet on the Knicks.

(03:16):
I really thought you did. Like the way you were
biting your noils, like, oh you bet on this, you
bet on this right here.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
I did it.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
I just I could not believe what I was watching.
I could not believe what I was watching. And it's
always exciting to be next to someone who is so
excited about it, like I just.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
You know, I was vibing with you. I was vibing
with you. It was so good.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
It was so good.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
It was the full Chase experience New York, New York. See,
it's catchy, isn't it? New York Go New York girl?
That's catchy? Harmon, How glad are you're in Chicago the
next couple of days? How glad are you? How glad
are you for that?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I don't know. The connection seems to be waning as
I sit here late on a Wednesday, I don't know.
Is this thing on?

Speaker 1 (03:58):
What?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Uh? So?

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Yes? For the second game in a row, the Knicks
get down twenty points in the third quarter, it looks over.
For the second game in a row, the Knicks come
back and win late ninety one ninety the second time
the Celtics had a chance for a game time or
game winning shot and mccal bridges took the ball away.

(04:23):
Game one, it was Jalen Brown. Game two, it was
Jason Tatum who dribbled in trouble and tried to pass out.
Bridges picked it off. And I want to say this,
Mike Carmen number one, I gotta say this because I
gotta I have to say this. I need to apologize.
I need to say I was sorry because I wanted
to give mcal bridges away for nothing a week and

(04:45):
a half ago. They're gonna have to make moves at
the end of the season. We can't beat anybody who's good.
Bridges is a guy, he's not good. Being the third
or fourth option, I will drive him to the airport.
Going into the series, I'm thinking, okay, if we can
get Giannis, Bridges will be centerpiece of that trade. Maybe
Mitchell Robinson. Now no, no, no, I'll give five more
first round picks. You want five? Just because I'm a

(05:07):
nice guy and I want you to feel that I'm grateful,
I'll give five more first round picks for m cal Bridges.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Yeah, six months of slander. I don't know that that's
gonna be enough to cover debt. No, no, no, The
car macdeat is much larger than how many more picks?
No no, no, no no. They're like, you got to
figure out what his favorite charity is, what kind of
styling he does. Maybe you send him a nice watch.
I don't know, but the idea that you could just

(05:33):
come out here and go, I don't know, hey, hey,
more picks than no, no, no, no, I'll get we can
play back a full best of four hours of you
complaining about the guy. Sure, because you know, as Moncey
laid it out, you know it's it's the best and
worst thing. And I've said this for the eleven years
we've been working together. There are moments where it's like, boy,
I really I'm jealous that he has that level of fandom. Now,
you watched me in the studio last night after my

(05:56):
drafts Uh, pop fly hit off his glove and hew ahead,
and what that was for me? White Sox Baseball. You
watched a little bit more of my soul leave. Now
it's like horcruxes. There's pieces all over those Fox Sports
radio studios and in stadium uh and you know, multiplexes
across the globe. Uh and and but for you, like there,

(06:16):
you ride that lightning to where you want to fire
everybody and cut them and get them away. And then
just like that, they they would replace the family dog
next to your side, just that fast. You're the greatest
thing ever, Buddy Art.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah, I want an Afghan and I want an Afghan dog,
want an Afghan to wear.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Yeah, you're clearly you want an Afghan wigs record, I
get it. Yeah, all of that.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Watching you watch games is kind of like the scenes
in Harry Potter when the dementors show up and they
just start sucking the soul out of and the dementor's
kiss and they're just standing. There's nothing they can do.
When you see the sun, you actually see the soul
leaving the body. Like hear that phrase, I watched his
soul leave his body. Now that's kind of what it
is watching you, the soul leaving the body me. I'm
all full patronis yeah, tronas is mcal bridges. Now look

(07:01):
at this.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Oh yeah a looah mora yeah. But depending on the date,
you may not have any control over what you're trying
to cast.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
You're like sometimes you know in that first learning experience,
right the first sequence of hey, bring out your paternas.
I can't do it. I can't do it. Think about
this now, I need to.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
I wanted mccal bridges. I thought he's not worth it
five first round picks. He's gonna be the centerpiece of
a trade in the offseason because clearly it's not a
great fit and he's not been great alsie for a
guy as talented as he is. Yeah, Brunson gets all
the shots. Anything get left over. It's Karl Anthony Towns
and Noby's a big three and d player. Heart's gonna
get his how is Bridges gonna slide in here? And

(07:42):
it's been a tough adjustment. But you know, he started
out bad, but he hit some shots in the second
half helped the comeback. And I mean two games in
a row where he makes a defensive play to save
the game at the end. The first time he just
rips it away from Jalen Brown. This one, I mean
the defensive play he makes because he gets Tatum in
trouble and knows that Tatum's going to try to get
rid of the ball. And the fact that he's able

(08:03):
to leap to the left and get his hand in
front when he knows Tatum's going to try to dishes
because he has no shot like that's incredible anticipation by him.
Is two games in a row he has saved the
last play of there. I don't care what happened before.
Now again, five more picks. I'll give you five more picks,
and I'll pay Otani salary when it's due in like
eight years. That's that's how happy I am. That's how

(08:26):
happy I am right now. I'll bet when you go
him forty million a year, I'll pay the first couple
of years of that.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
That just tells me a couple of things. Number One,
I am grossly underpaid. If you're talking, you can pay
Otani money. So we got to do it that way.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Well, because I bet every visiting team to win every
game in the second round of the playoffs. And I'm
up like fifteen million dollars right now, so I'm feeling good.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yeah, no, if you bet enough. You want to talk
about the parlay from hell for folks, although it looks
like a barring something really strange, that streak is end.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
But we'll get to that in a minute. But you know,
watching this fourth quarter once again, and and it's the
Celtics learning nothing from last time out.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
You look at your two stars that you're anticipating, and
we talked about it yesterday. People could find the podcast
about close out guys and close out decision making. And
once again, for Tatum and Brown, they when they go
one for nine in the fourth quarter, the only shot
made was Tatum on that breakthrough dunk that they more
or less allayed the defense out it. Brown was circling

(09:34):
back towards the three point arc on the final play
a great double team because he had what was it?
Robinson was on one side, and then you've got Bridges
playing the passing lane like there was nothing that that
Jason Tatum was going to be able to do with
the ball. He goes up for the shot, I probably
getting blocked by Robinson. So it's it's game time. Execution

(09:56):
three point barrages. What are we at twenty four points
percent through the first two games of the series, and
once again, you just go through it. You've got two
and a half quarters of well executed balanced basketball inside
outside and taking care of you know, your mid range jumpers.
And then in the fourth quarter, now, forget it, let's

(10:19):
just abandon this. Forget about the fact that we own
this squad in the regular season, forget about all of
these things. And for Bridges right, zero points going into
the fourth and all of a sudden, he looked like
he was on playing at turbo speed. You know the
video games where suddenly you get to be three times
as fast as the rest of the action around you.
That's what it looked like. He was a man possessed.

(10:41):
He also could have shot them right back out of
the game if things had gone badly, but six of
ten from the field, energy, defensive play and Jalen Brunson
was quiet again until he needed to be and comes
up with the big shot to put him ahead with
two minutes left. So you're watching this as we do

(11:02):
the analysis all the time, and this goes back to
our friends up in the Bay Area and everything else, like, well,
you got championship acumen, right, you've got history, you've got
guys with playoff experience. None of that has mattered for
the Celtics.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Well look, and I'll tell you here's the thing is,
I disagree with you on the Celtics because it's not
like they played great tonight. That's what people are forgeting.
It's not Hey, the Celtics had these twenty point leads
and they played great. They played crappy in Game one.
The Knicks just played worse. Right, They still shot fifteen
for sixty from three point range this game. They didn't
play great, right, Tatum had an awful game. They played okay. Yeah,

(11:37):
but you're still up twenty right right, No, I'm not
saying you're playing, but you should be able to finish
the job. But it's not like, but if you were
playing great and up twenty, you're not giving that lead away.
You were playing just okay, up twenty, so you give
the let the other team hang around enough. Like I
don't think the Celtics have to look at these first
two games they played anywhere close to how they played.
They almost look like they're sleepwalking through the game. Like

(12:00):
we know we beat them bad during the regular season,
we know where the champs whatever mentally, wherever mentally they
are right now, they're in a bad spot because even
in big moments of these games, they don't look like
that they have that hunger. They just don't have that
look that these are the champs. And if you're gonna
take it from you gotta pry it from their cold
dead hands. This was, Hey, we're playing we're not playing well,

(12:20):
but the Knicks are playing worse. Let's just keep going
the game, keep the game going like this, we'll come
up with a victory and then we'll try to get
back to New York and take control of the series. Again.
They didn't play well, and so the Knicks come back
and it looks like they're playing amazing in the last one.
But the Celtics just they hadn't played well. The Knicks
just played way worse. They couldn't they couldn't have any
kind of flow on offense. Brunston took a long time

(12:41):
to get going, and nobody on the Celtics could take
the lead and say, hey, this is a game where
Jalen Brown's gonna score thirty five, or this is a
game where Hey White hits a bunch of shots and
egos for thirty Like there's been none of that the
first two games. Like I watch the Celtics and I go,
are they even alive? Are they really? Are they even
alive in this game? Because they're just going through the
motions these first couple of games.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Yeah, but through three quarters they still owned you yea,
so we because.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Dick's played bad and then the next play we're gonna play.
We're gonna play great. And the Celtics couldn't raising They
didn't raise their level at all. Fuck, you know, like
the Celtics, there was no hey, we're stepping things up
now we know we're going for the killer instinct gid.
There was none of that the last two games.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
None of it. Well, if you're gonna keep rotating out
to bad three point shots, selection hurried possessions once things
start getting a little tight, I mean, you want to
talk about world class puckering man.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
That's that. That and I'd love to do a montage
anybody that's really creative in the graphics world.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
If you want to just do some shots of Celtics
fans you talk about my soul leaving my body, I
mean you can do that group work right there, I
mean do it in bulk.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
For over forty years, tire Reck's been helping customers find

we'll have more on this incredible achievement by the Knicks
up to zip and oh, by the way, we kind

(14:10):
of have to talk about my Knicks Pacers East Conference
finals prediction. Oh wait a minute, wait a minute, now,
maybe that can happen. But straight ahead, Yes, more from
the NBA and a big injury story that could affect
the rest of the playoffs. A's next right here, Jason
and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

(15:12):
Harmon needs to be the judge right now.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
To do the judge on this, I get to all
good things.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
So here's Frostburg, who has done nothing but want to
troll me over the Knicks for basically the last decade.
For most of the last decade. It's it's okay, I
get it because you point the Knicks man. But now
here he is singing, go New York, Go, New York Go,
playing all the big highlights, Go New York, Go New
York Go. Because Laker fan Frostburg, the Knicks have the

(15:38):
Celtics down O two, so bigger he'll turn Mike Harmon,
Hulk Hogan or Frostburg bigger he'll.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Turn well, I mean unless Frostburg is getting a giant
check or a bunch of extra food from you. I mean,
Hogan at least had a bunch of dollar incentives to
it all. He's just a man's soul.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
He's gonna have some wings. I mean he's gonna have
some wings tonight. So there's that.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
But wow, this, yeah, I mean that was the one
thing in the final minutes, like why I could have
gotten a guff free meal out of this because Jason
will be in a good mood.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
I want you know.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
I mean that is definitely bigger than than Hogan, there's
no question. But I you know, just one committing to
the bit. Two man, we we've kind of learned what
old Cogan is time it cans, so you know, I mean,
it's that kind of just sells itself there. But yeah,
Frostburg aligning with you, even if only for fifteen minutes. Now,

(16:33):
you gotta be careful. This could be an all k
fab work because you know, if it goes badly in
game three Back of the Garden, I mean he will
drop you like you do so many Jets too, quarterbacks
after they've been fired.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
How many days in a row do I have to
tell you? Nicks PACER's Eastern Conference Finals? Right? The Pacers
win game one? Okay? No, no, Jason, you're crazy. Nicks
win win game one. No, they're not gonna win again,
not gonna go. Pacers win game two, doesn't matter. Nick
sart to win? Now, Oh, Nick, Pacers, He's Conference Finals.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
We owe you. Let's get ready for Carlisle for all
the bad calls are gonna come your way because the
desire to put a big market team advancing in the
playoffs like it's happened for the Knicks the last decade plus. Hey,
get ready, I told you.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
Okay, so now you're going to the assumption that way,
and that's fine. You are now just ten to one
to win the NBA title. Yes, those are updated odds
that I've founded several sports books. What's funny is you
are the fourth favorite to do so, you're third in
the Eastern Conference. So that's kind of kind of funny
as you look at that. Okay, see and everybody else, No, no,

(17:39):
but here's the thing. It's it's just the living and
dying because the third quarter, if we were on air,
that show would have been much different, much different, tone, tender.
And it's not to say that the Celtsis were playing
good basketball. Going owing back to what we were talking
about a few minutes ago, it's the you were playing
that much worse.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
No, So it doesn't have to be aesthetically pleasing. Down
twenty is down twenty.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
I would have said, we have them right where we want.
And we were down twenty the other night we won.
We're down twenty now I'm feeling good.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
No, go New York. I appreciate the delusion. It's a
it's a wonderful thing. But now that it's been done twice,
I mean, now they are who you thought they are
in terms of the Celtics and closing games out. Uh.
And now you know Bridges is there. They're going to
build a statue or maybe they'll just rename a bridge.
I don't know these series odds now even.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
They'll rename the bridge. Yeah, instead of the white Stone Bridge,
it'll be the mcal Bridge. Is the mcal Bridge? Jes
Bridges Bridge? My internet's out? Yeah here, Yeah, what what
do you need Frostburg? I need you to answer this
question for me. Yeah, go ahead, what do you got
The Celtics won a game in the second round yet
hang on, let me check, hang on, little money check,
let me hang on, hang on, let me check my computer,

(18:51):
hang on, hang on, hang on. And the answer is
hang on, carry the four hang on and this no
Soto to home runs.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Yes, I know.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
No, the answer is no, they have not won a game. Wow,
they have not won a game. No.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
I would love to be behind the scenes if you
were a an engineer building websites. Hey, Jason, we need
you to check every server, make sure that the Knicks
haven't lost in any of those alternate universes.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Make sure it's updated on every server. That's how they
could get you out of a meeting. They didn't want
you to be, you know, fighting with them over subject matter.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
But yeah, ninety one ninety not exactly going to the
Hall of Fame game overall. No, no, no.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
The last times were James.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Final four minutes where it's close, chaos and a team
looking like they forgot who they are. They've lost their
identity stone.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
And look and look we we talked about the We
talked about the Celtics a few minutes ago, and how
they just look like they're sleepwalking through this series. But
you know who, all of a sudden his leg. I mean,
they won the championship a year ago. But still it was, well,
Tatum wasn't the MVP, and yeah, Tatum is supposed to
be in that like it was still at arm's length,

(20:03):
kind of like people kind of felt about Tatum the
way fans felt about the Lakers when they won in
twenty twenty, Like, yeah, they won, but it was COVID
and it was on a neutral floor, which honestly is
more difficult because you played aget home court advantage and
all of a sudden, that big advantage was gone for
the Lakers. But it's still that's kind of how it went.
And for Tatum, it was yeah, they won, but yeah,

(20:27):
maybe all time great. You still tell that he still
had stuff to do and these last two games when
he couldn't hit a shot and he gets the you know,
he goes in for a final shot that look, he
had the big dunk that gave him the lead with
fifteen seconds left, which the Knicks didn't see coming. It
was a great decision by him. They had to pick
set and he's able to get right to the hoop

(20:47):
and they think, okay, we're taking the shot clock down.
No great decision by him. But then at the end
he dribbles into trouble, doesn't know where to go. And
this is two really bad games. And if the Celtics
go out here all of a sudden for Tatum, it's
gonna be like last year didn't happen, Like, yeah, every
won the finals yest year. No, it didn't happen. You
lost to the Knicks. You lost to the Knicks, and

(21:08):
you were terrible. And I'm telling you that right now,
we're even we're.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Starting over it.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
What do you mean starting on we won the title
last year. No, we're starting over you and me right
here from zero, Like, no, you you were so bad
in these playoffs and we lost to the bleep and Knicks,
who we beat by fifty every time you played them
during the regular season. No, No, that's what's gonna happen,
the Jason Tatum legacy. You're just watching it spin and
spin and go really slow and kind of go down

(21:33):
the drain. You all here watching when you drop your
someone drops their wedding ring into a real small where
it goes down the sick. No, there, that's what's happening
in Jason Tatum right now? His legacy and the the
optic of him throughout the league takes such a big hit.
If they lose a series again, it'll be like they
didn't even win last year.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Oh for him, it became that you weren't the MVP.
You had other players that that got their shine, right,
whether it was Derek White and his heroics at a
couple of those games, Aalen Brown certainly seemed to be
the guy that was the more assertive and aggressive of
wanting that mantle. But here you're trying to go back
to Tatum, and it begets that other conversation that we've

(22:11):
had about the NBA, and certainly we hit it the
last couple of nights with the way games have closed out,
is do you have that guy that you trust that
you can just say, like, for better or for us,
I'm putting the ball in his hands. I don't know
if the Celtics have that guy right now? Been a
hot potato, right, you have the sink.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
The thing is they have guys that can make shots,
but Tatum's clearly the guy. And it's so it's so
crazy because he's the guy that can get his own
shot more so than anybody else in the game because
of the way he handles the ball and his size,
Like I can get my own shot anytime, more even
more than Brunson, who finds a way to get but
like Tatum's like one on one, he's almost unstoppable because

(22:51):
I'm going to get my shot. I'm gonna get a
mid range jumper, I'm gonna get to I'm gonna figure
something out. But when the knicker, that of the defender
out of it's like I don't know what to do.
I don't know where they like there was no other play,
there was nowhere else to go with the ball. There
was a Jalen Brown, anybody else white, there was nowhere
to go, and he gets it taken away.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
But I'm speaking to the whole fourth quarter though, right
in terms of we got to slow this down because
it's starting to look like a repeat of Game one.
And it was right, fifteen of sixty last time out
ten to forty. They took fewer three point shots. So congratulations,
is there still a nice Even the math is easy, right,
twenty five out of one hundred, let's go percentages for

(23:31):
the win.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
But just the we can calm this down and stem
the tide. Right now they're lacking that. One is living
and dying by the three point shot. The other is
the indecisiveness when that second man comes. Just as you
alluded to there in that final possession, but all throughout

(23:52):
the fourth quarter it was just bad possession, hurried possessions,
shot clock running down. Just fire it up and then
hope for long rebounds. That then that's wishing and hoping.

Frosberg is in full effect right now. He's got a chair,
he'samethrower on tables. He's gonna come in looking like Arsenio
Hall from coming to America. When he's in all the
all the mets and the knick stuff. He's hey, I
was sewn Michael superkick you like you're Marty Jeannetti.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
Nicely done.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
We got more coming up in ninety seconds. But first,
let's find out what's trending for someone who's been called
the Michal Bridges of Fox Sports Radio. At the end
of every shift, she comes up to you and takes
something from you. It's Mancey Belagya.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
That's right, that's right, York gone, New York.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
I'm with I'm with justin here.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
I mean, pretty incredible.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
What the Knicks have done in back to back games,
being down twenty points, coming out on top today ninety
one to ninety Jalen Bruns and mister clutch for a
reason hitting the go ahead shot late in the fourth quarter,
ended with seventeen points and seven assists. Karl Anthony Towns
twenty one points, seventeen rebounds, Josh Hart twenty three points,
six rebounds, a total team effort aside from Mitchell Robinson's

(25:27):
free throws that was not good.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
Jason Tatum was five and nineteen free throw.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
What that was when the next run started right after that,
It's sure horrible free throws.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
Watched out badly.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
It was eighty four seventy and then the Knicks, and
the Knicks outscored him twenty four, twenty four to six.
The rest of the world is just so flat, it's
just so fair. It was not a lot of us.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
You need that moment of though, you know, yeah, let's
break the tension. Yes, it's true, it's true. You're probably right.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Jason Tatum was five of nineteen from the field, really,
if you think about it, four of nineteen because it
was that last dunk that made at five thirteen points
and fourteen rebounds. Jalen Brown was eight of twenty three
from the field for twenty points. Rudy Gay, former NBA player, tweeted,
I'm convinced nobody knows what to do inside of the
three point line nowadays, and I think, yes, exactly. The

(26:18):
Oklahoma City Thunder have come out shooting the lights out.
In the first quarter. They shot seventy one percent from
the field. They've calmed down a leadle bit sixty two
percent still, so they're crushing the Nuggets seventy eight to
forty three with three minutes to go in the second quarter.
Shai Gil just Alexander the leading scorer for OKC. He's
got sixteen points, seven assists. He is five to six
from the field for Denver. Aaron Gordon is actually no,

(26:39):
not Aaron Gordon. Russell Westbrook is the leading scorer. He
is four of seven for eleven points, again seventy eight
to forty three. Late in the second quarter in the NHL,
the Maple Leaves defeated the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Four to three.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
They now lead the series to zero. Right now, after
one period, the Stars and the Jets are scoreless. In
Major League Baseball, the Tigers and the Rockies are tied
at six pace bottom of the sixth inning, Blue Jays
and Angels are scoreless top of the fourth inning, and
the Yankees just walked it off against the Padres four
three and ten innings thanks to a sack fly from
j c Escara pinch hitting. This guy's first year in

(27:13):
Major League Baseball, played eight years minor league, worked odd
jobs driver as an uber substitute teaching, literally gets called
up hits a walk off his first one, very emotional
talking to John Paul Morosi after the game. There is
also a no hitter that Cody Bellinger broke up. Dylan
seesees no hitter through seven innings, but Cody Bellinger hit that,

(27:34):
so the Yankees win it twins, outscored the Orioles five
to two, while the Royals edged the White Sox two
to one and the Reds top the Braves four to three.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Billy shut out the Raise seven zero.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Red Sox took down the Ranger six to four, Alex
Bregman with his two hundredth career homer, and the Dodgers
crushed the Marlins ten to one, and of course, Swan
Soto homer twice as the Mets outscored the Diamondbacks seven
to one.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
If you're blue an Orange, today's your day?

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Is your dad?

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Your day? Exactly?

Speaker 1 (28:01):
So harm So I'm coming. So I parked the car
and it's eighty six eighty two. I'm like, okay, Hey,
at this point it's eighty six eighty two. I'm like, okay,
I'm gonna run together. I parked the car in the
parking garage, I lock up. I jog all the way
in because you know, I'm in my fifties now, I don't.
I only run so fast. And I jogged to get in,

(28:21):
and I opened the door and everybody is standing around
the edit room, and Monty just yells Brunson just.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Gave down the lane. Bronson just gave down the lane.
I was like, it was just eighty six eighty two?

Speaker 1 (28:32):
What did I miss? And I stood in that one spot.
I said, I'm not moving from the spot.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
If we just took cramped in the editor's room, all
of us watching me.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Gay, that is true except for the jogging.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
No, no, but but if he was, I mean, that
is the slowest jog. I mean that is Tony LaRussa
going out to the mound a couple of years ago
when he was managing. I was much more.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I was much more Jim Leland how he used to
walk out really really fast because he wanted to take
the picture out of the game like that. That was
more of me getting in.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
Hey, you want to wait? Back to his smokes.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, I'm waving.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
How you doing?

Speaker 4 (29:02):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Hey, I got the next. I got the next, I
got the next. Oh, Bronson just gave down the lead.
Oh man, oh, Blue and Orange, this is your time.
Maybe the Broncos will make a big move tonight any
Boise State. Maybe, I don't know. I don't know. Now,
manci do you have Denver getting thirty.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
In this game? No?

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Okay, they don't. Okay, yeah and a half? Is it
thirty and a half? Half? Really?

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Yeah? Man?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Uh yeah?

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Over under two forty nine plus thirty and a half
right now.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Luckily for the Thunder they're not playing the Knicks because
it is an eighty to forty seven lead for Oklahoma
City right now, two minutes ago in the first half.
I feel pretty good about this, Mike. I feel pretty
good that the home team's gonna win their first game
in the playoffs in the second round. I feel pretty
good about that right now.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Look at you. Great way to go out out a limbits.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Like if I had that, if I just kept letting
it ride, right, like just say, let's say I just
kept letting it go of Hey, I'm betting the visiting
team to win the first like seven playoff games, right
and I'm six for six. But I'm going to halftime
down thirty five. I'm calling the casino going, Okay, you
want to buy me out? Hey, you guys want to
buy me out? Want you want to buy me out?

(30:10):
You never know what could happen second half Denver Jabal
Murray could get hot, you could get up. I'm call
so call right, buy me out, Buy me out?

Speaker 3 (30:18):
I think this is where Yeah, I would say, right now,
they're probably just kicking their feet up and laughing at you,
going hey, if that would be an act of God.
At this point, typical payout what are we talking six
teams is like forty five to one.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Man forty five to one. I would, boy, I really,
I would have enough money to get more to pay
off Otani when it comes time for the Dodgers. I
could do it. I could, you know, spend time clear
giving more money to Micl Bridges who clearly earns it.
After the regular season he had which was not great,
but this last two games.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Yeah he does.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
I could find a way to just to spread the
spread the cash. I just make it rain just over
anywhere I want, Tom, I just make it right. Go
New York, Go, New York Go. I mean you bought
Osburg Soul, so I mean he got that going. Everybody's
got a price for the million dollars. My internet's down.
Did the Celtics win yet? Hang on? Let me check,
let me check again, hang on, let me let me
hang on. Let me know they were up by twenty

(31:11):
hang on, let me check, hang up, let me hit refreshed,
because yes, twenty point lead third quarter. Hey, nobody really
blows a twenty point lead in the playoff. No, no, really,
I think the.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Certainly not a second time.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
And and oh no, no they lost tonight. Shut up? Hey, no,
they lost ninety one nineties shut up right now. The
Knicks one ninety one. You believe it? The NXT one
ninety one. Wow, the Celtics suck.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Yeah? We got yeah, record setting performance, I mean performance.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Coming up next, Jason Smith, Mike Harmon. Yes, we'll have
the play of the day. Gee, I wonder what that's
gonna be, and we get into the big injury that
could affect the rest of the NBA playoffs. Keep it here.
This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific. I even love this song today, I even
love this song.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Celtics laws Nicks one by up point. They're up two
games to none. Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harmon. We'll get to the
big Steph Curry injury in a second, but first we

(32:29):
have to get to the play of the day. For
over forty years, tire Rack's been helping customers find the
right tires for how, what and where they drive. Shipped
fast and free back by free Road has a protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tire rack
dot Com is the way tire buy and should be.
And I thought, well Soto two home runs one of

(32:49):
those of the play the day. Oh no, we saw
your one. Sodo two home runs and raise you one.
Michael Bridges thieving at the end of game two against
the Celtics.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
You wanna go, They're not gonna use the time out,
plenty of time here.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
It's Tatum, Robinson, John Tatum and O Breton.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
The right to fix it. They've got it. They warted.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
New York has gone up two games.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Turn on two tens again to the end.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Go New yourk go New Your Go, go to New York,
Go New York.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Go.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Kevin Harlan, Reggie Miller on TNT with the call if
every game ends with me, Cal Bridges taking the ball
away from the other team, Mike Carmen, I think it's
gonna be a good rest of the playoffs for the Knicks.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
Who's the next victim?

Speaker 1 (33:48):
Every single Okay, I got you Jalen Brown, I got you.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Jason ahead, Honey, who's the next guy up? Come on,
you Whites, let's go.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Just crossing off guys. It's gonna take the ball away
from you.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
With his list, you know.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
And here's the thing before we get to Steph Curry,
is that the Knicks identity up until this year was
what with Timbs was defense, right, and they're always going
to play great defense. And they realized, Okay, by making
this trade for Karl Anthony Towns bringing mcal Bridges, it's
gonna be a little bit And when you get to
the playoffs, I said, okay, this this team has just
been terrible defensively during the see other team shooting fifty

(34:28):
to fifty five percent without too much of of difficulty.
But the Knicks go back to, hey, we'll give you
that situational defense in the fourth quarter, when all of
a sudden, it looks like we are, you know, the
Amiba defense, or we are just giving you forty minutes
a hell it is suddenly, when you can do that
in the fourth quarter, it looks it looks so much
more impressive and so much of a bigger deal because

(34:50):
you go from hey, we're playing defense at this one
level the first three quarters. Now we're giving the situational
d that we can still pull off because we have
great individual defensive players Bridges and Anunobi. So yeah, good
luck when we start to really turn it up in
the fourth quarter and the Knicks are playing that situational
fourth quarter defense. Oh, they playing it to the best.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Yeah, we had a good laugh at the expense of
Robinson with his free throw right the miss. That really
is the most exciting random ISO play that you could
possibly have going. How do you possibly get that you
can just shoot straight right arms over your head trajectory
either way. Plus nineteen off the bench for him with

(35:29):
his six points, eight boards. And Karl Anthony Towns, who's
been a bit of a punching bag over the course
of the year for times he didn't raise to the
level twenty one and seventeen minus two, but overall in
the fourth quarter again for the second straight day, he's
moving his feet in the final minutes on defense and

(35:52):
making for tough shots.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
So a lot more in this game coming up in
a few minutes, because there is one Celtic legend who's
going to have a very difficult tomorrow and wait, till
we tell you why. But look, the big injury today
in the NBA, the real is gonna affect the rest
of the playoffs. Steph Curry going to miss about a
week with his hamstring injury. Know, we talked about this
last night and said, look, best case scenario for him

(36:15):
probably Game four, maybe a little bit later. And I
know that that what this, what the Warriors are doing
right now is the smart thing. He's gonna be out
a week. We're not gonna do this every single day.
How is Steph today? How's the treatment? Can he play
in game Game two? Can he play in Game three?
Can he play in Game four? He wants them to know, Hey,
we're not gonna have him now. We're gonna adjust the

(36:36):
next couple of games. Right, Steph will come back at
some point, but he's going to adjust. We said last
night Game four, Game four seems like it's a little
bit maybe on the on the early edge. But I'll
tell you what, for a guy that's never really had
injury issues throughout his career, he's never really had hamstring
injury like this before. He's not prone to it. I
would be really surprised if he doesn't come back for

(36:57):
Game four. I'm the game Game four because Game four
is where you really might be in a rubber hits
the Road type situation because let's just say, suddenly, Okay,
the Taguls get it back, they even the series, they
take Game three, you need Game four if you're gonna
keep this thing going. So I like Steph Curry's got
to be missing a leg to not come back for
Game four and play at home in this game that

(37:17):
could wind up being a game, the game that helps
push them into a three to one series advantage themselves.
Like Game four is such a huge one, and I
really I know he's hurting, I know he's dinged up,
but he almost has a week before Game four. I
would be stunned if he's not back for that game.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
Yeah, I mean we've had a couple of isolated things
through his career. I mean, certainly from where he's started
in all the draft evaluations in that first year of
wondering what you could be with his ankles being the
thing we were watching all the time, it's been an
incredible run of durability. In this case, they bought themselves time, right,
so we're not evaluating for a week. Well, that's what

(37:52):
we're gonna tell you, but every day he's getting treatment,
where is he on the continuum? We're just not making
it a public spec to Cole and Steve Kerr. Fortunately
you've been able to unleash Buddy Healed the last couple
of games and all of a sudden, he's that guy
that you wanted and so many teams fought for in

(38:13):
the trade markets. Right, you want to talk about the
most evaluated trade analyzing a bit in those programs, Buddy
Heald's name probably was the most searched all the last
couple of years. But yeah, you buy yourself time. See
if you can't steal another one before. You've got to
force him back into action because you know he's gonna
want to play earlier, so you want to make sure

(38:35):
you're not, you know, forcing yourself into a foolish decision
to be smart with it. But putting out the notice
of it reevaluated a week, it gets everybody to leave
it alone. It's like, all right, let's go evaluate the
team over here and you can go work in a vacuum.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Yeah noo. And that's why I said, they want to
get past this storyline for being an everyday thing for
the next five or six days and they did that. Now,
the flip side of this is if the Tea Wolves
still lose this series, Steph Curry is out and they
still wind up losing. I don't know that it gets
more embarrassing in a playoff than this. You come in

(39:11):
after beating the Lakers and Lebron and Luca, and you're
thumping your chest and feeling great, and all of a
sudden you lose to a team that is not built
to withstand the loss of their star. There's certain teams that, hey,
if we lose a guy for a little bit, this
team is not built to withstand the loss of their star.
And you turn Buddy Healed into a latter day version
of Scottie Pippen in Game one and you allowed Jimmy

(39:32):
Butler to getting the way Back machine. Ham's still gonna
give you a twenty ten and eight kind of night
like this would. I don't know that there's a more
embarrassing loss you could have here the Timberwolves. Then you
lose this series. If they're playing the jority of the
rest of it without Steph Curry.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
Well, I appreciate that that sentiment, but you're still the
Celtics are still saying hold my beer.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
No, no, the Celtic. They're just getting out played right now. Man,
it's just give the next credit.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
No, no, out Darius, No no, you're going to go.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
There's a heel turned Frontburg.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
Go New York, Go New York. Carefully, you cheer your ass,
Go New York, New York.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
Coming up next, one Celtic legend is gonna have a
lot of attention on him tomorrow. Wait till we tell
you why, Fox
