should be. And Uh, in the midst of a big week,
we're getting ready for Week five in the NFL, last
day of the season in Major League Baseball. You think, wow,
here's all the no no, no no, Draymond Green, that says,
hang on a second. No one's been paying attention to

(01:07):
me for a while or my podcast, So I'm going
to give you all the big headline of the day. Uh.
This story Mike Harmon is just a couple of hours
old that Draymond Green is facing disciplinary action from the
Golden State Warriors. According to Sham's Hrania, who reported earlier today, Uh,

(01:29):
there was a physical altercation at practice that has the
team considering that disciplinary action against Draymond Green. And apparently
he and Jordan's Pool got into it had to be separated,
but the team felt a line was crossed by Draymond Green.
And this is where we're at. The season hasn't even started.

(01:50):
They won the championship and already Draymond you know, and
I need more attention here. This is just a look. Look,
let's just pretend there was an altercation, so I doing
on my podcast. People download it right, maybe not to
the I'm hoping that what this is really, I mean,
I really want to hope there wasn't some kind of
all crazy altercation in the preseason when we're a month

(02:12):
away from starting for real and you're coming off winning
the championship at already, Hey, here's a fight going out
of practice. It just means he's already jacked up about it. No,
I mean, look, season premiere of a podcast Look Are
Back for twenty three and let's see what we have
to talk about right off the jump, uh suspending him
for a game back in for quote conduct detrimental um

(02:35):
and that was getting after Kevin Durant and calling him
a dirty name. Uh So right now we're not sure
what right? Is it a hard pick? Did he feel
like he got you know, hip checked or something that?
Do they have beef off the court that's spilled on
in a drill? Uh? Did he again you know? Gets
and they started trading jabs verbally and then Pool said

(02:56):
something he disagreed with or and it could be mere
read things. So that's the beauty of its speculation at
Swall and Dome. Bring it on either way for the Warriors.
And that's not how you want to start things. I mean,
Jordan Pool is an ascending guy that you needed last year.
You're a you're counting on him to be a star.
Draymond resurrected his career last year, and now he's gonna

(03:17):
start fights again. It's like, you know what, I was
in the good graces last year. I built my new
media empire, not a hell with all of you. I'm
going back to the guy I was. I'm embracing the villainy.
There is no better way to summarize the career of
Draymond Green than the sentence I'm going to give you

(03:38):
right now. Are you gonna use the word mercurial? No?
I wish I could note and maybe maybe I get
wizard in maybe No, no, no, there is hey patent pending. Well,
I do like the way you say wizards. There is
no better way to describe Draymond Green's And then you're
gonna understand how it falls into place. Draymond Green, he

(03:58):
can ruin your team sees him, and he can also
ruin his team's season. That's Draymond And now deep thoughts
with Jack Handy, That's who he's been. Right when if
the Warriors failed, Draymond Green gets thrown out and ejected
from the game in the finals, Right, Draymond Green decides

(04:18):
for two years, Hey, I don't really care about basketball.
Hey what happened? And the Warriors stunk even when they
were trying to fight through it, and Steph is playing
all by himself and there's no uh Clay Thompson because
he's hurt, and Kevin Durant has gone Yeah, now you know,
I'm just gonna mail it and make everybody think my
NBA career is over. And then last year, hey, guess what,
I decided I wanted to play again. Because that was

(04:40):
a big deal. We don't talk about that enough with
the Warriors, that Draymond Green decided I want to play again.
Dedication that guy, right, And so he did that whole
speech about talking to his kid and his kid asking him,
and suddenly that sparked the internal fire. I gotta do
it for the kids, they say, I care again. Right,
So he can ruin your team season because when he's motivated,

(05:01):
he is one of the he has been one of
the top five most valuable players in the NBA for
the better part of the last decade. But when he's
not motivated, or when he is upset about something or
flies off the handle, he can ruin your season, all right.
He can ruin your season. He can ruin his seam season.
That's Draymond Green. That's just who he is. He's the
guy and he's always been the guy that It's like

(05:24):
Guardians of the Galaxy when when Rocket is trying to
tell group not to press the button, I am grout, no,
don't press that button. Draymond Green is a guy with
his finger over the self destruct button, going which button
do I press? I got the self destruct button? Or
I got the button that says kill the other team.
I gotta kill the other team button self destruct? Which
one do I press? Which one do I press? I'm
Draymond Green. I can blow it all up. I can

(05:45):
blow up their season. I can blow up our season.
I can blow I can do whatever. I can do
what I'm gonna blow them up? No, I'm gonna blow
us up. That's who Draymond Green is. That's who he's
been his entire career. Yeah, it's it's been interesting to
watch the ebb and flow of what he means and
the narrative that surrounds him and how the collective media

(06:06):
has decided they love or hate him, given given whoever
he's playing in a series. Which guy's the baby face
next to Draymond Green? Yeah, no, no, no, Now he's
a dirty player. Well, I thought he was shrewd and
knew how to take advantage of, you know, working through
to the whistle and and maybe a bit of intimidation
towards the officials. Now that was the last series. We

(06:26):
moved on to this guy, and we like this guy.
And wanted to get over more. So we have to
create more of a villain aspect for Draymond. Look, he's
a guy who's been fantastic piece where he ranks and
you know when people do the where does he rank
all time? During this era? Guy helped bring several championships.
Guy was a defender and a guy that who worked

(06:50):
as an enforcer for some of the best superstars you've
seen to allow them to go do their work and
know that they weren't gonna be undercut, running through, etcetera.
So he's had all sorts of value in that regard.
He's also been a tremendous pain in the asked to
Steve Kerr, how many times does Steve Kerr very delicately
have to answer questions about Draymond in any sequence on

(07:13):
any given night. All right, let's just move past it.
We know that's gonna happen. But I mean, that's kind
of where Steve Kerr is with all of this. And
they made peace last year. Everybody went back to work.
They have a tremendous run and rise back to prominence,
ultimately winning a title and on Night number one, if
only to gain headlines. Um, here we are back at

(07:35):
the same spot. And for Jordan Pool, a guy who
had a massive year in his third NBA season, a
guy really on the come and looking to become that
next star that everybody's on board with, particularly as Clay
and and Draymond and Steph get Older taking one to
the chop saying exactly the way to get things started.
Any first responder, I'll tell you, never try to beat

(07:57):
the train after breaking and take a mile for train
to completely stop. So when you come to a rail
crossing stop, because trains can't. So Now, knowing that's Draymond Green,
knowing I can ruin your season, I can ruin my
own season. I'm a wild card wild card. Uh. Adrian
will Ganarowski's that first report, we gave you a shamps
Trani the Athletic WOA has just got a report in

(08:19):
now about a little more details on the altercation between
Draymond Green and Jordan Pool. This is just a couple
of minutes old that Draymond Green threw a punch at
Pool during their skirmish and the punch made contact with Pool.
This is what team officials are reviewing. Pool was not
hurt by the punch and completed this workout before leaving

(08:40):
the the floor on Wednesday. This is where the punishment's
going because not only have to be separated, but Draymond
Green apparently threw a punch at Jordan's pool in practice.
They this isn't the chaps, They just want the title?
Are things too boring for you? And already we're in
a fight. This is like some thing I would say,
Oh great, you know the Nick's got in a fight

(09:02):
at practice the freight rod. That's right, Okay, that's what happens. Yeah, no,
I mean this is this is this is insane that
it happens this or this is not the middle of
the season. Hey, dull drums. I've been sick and tired.
Are going against you for five months and and and
something's got to give here now this is everything should
be new. You're in the honeymoon phase. Man, You're you're
back at practice and things are terrific because you are

(09:24):
the champions. You're thinking you can win again because nobody
really got better, especially in the Western Conference. You're hoping
to hold off the ascension of teams like Memphis and
they're getting better. And okay, that's fine, but I mean
you are already even wind up with one of your
best players getting suspended because he punched another player at practice.
I'm trying to just pause now that we have h

(09:46):
an addition of he threw a punch. Okay, now we
take altercation and we capitalize the a. But we still
have to ask the age old question, to go back
to our Burger commercials of old. Where's the beef? What's
the genesis of this? Right? Is it just a hard
full take an acceptation like that? That's where the juice

(10:07):
is here. I mean, early preseason and practices and all
of this just getting started. You know, we're we're waiting
for fisticuffs and and whatever stories are gonna come out
of the Lakers camp while this uh trio and assembled
parts are still together. Uh and see how Darvin hand

(10:30):
deals with that. But with with the Warriors, you would
think off the jump, hey do you have a good summer?
Good summer? How many podcasts you do? You you start
anything else? Do you you hire some new folks? How
the interns looking you know that are gonna come in
and help you get some b roll in each city? Uh?
You think it's pretty uh basic? Where's you go on vacation?

(10:50):
Got any photos bring back any souvenirs. What do you got? Nope,
let's get after it and here's a haymaker for you.
There's gotta be video, right, I don't know. Umm, now,
I mean we would be able to determine very quickly
who the leak was. Sure, Sure, I guess who's not

(11:12):
getting credentials to cover practice anymore? Um? You got? I
don't know. You would think that maybe, But the things
with NBA practices is that, especially with some teams, some
portions of practice they always say are not open. In
the NFL everything else too, there's portions that are not
open to the media, so they don't get there. There's
no one rolling on it. So you would think that
if that, if that hasn't happened, if there was video,

(11:33):
if they said, hey, you can roll on practice, well
guess what that videos out? Right? Because if it was,
if it was during a televised portion of practice, then
what can the Warriors do that you you said, we
could use the video, we can go out there. So
the only thing you're waiting for is so you know,
someone turned a cell phone on while they're getting heated,
going back and forth, going hey guys, got guys to
get upset guys and get upset. So that's kind of

(11:54):
what we'd be waiting for it. I don't think there's
any video because if we did, we would we would
have had it by now. Okay, well about we getting
dramatic reenactment, Ricky Alex get into it. Hey, Jordan's you
think you're so good? I heard you were an All
Star last year. Oh hey, Draymond, thanks for playing. I
know you didn't play the last two years. You were
pretty fresh, you son of a. Then there you go

(12:17):
and you go. Then people are going at it. May
was he sitting there doing the Mr Ted and Burgess Meredith? Hey,
o man, hey man, hey Draymond. What do you what
do you have more made made free throws or more
podcast downloads? Oh? Hey, we'll we be alone? Man, come on,
come on, yeah this could uh this is next level stuff.

(12:39):
Well to tear him apart eight seven seven Okay, maybe
Jordan's pool wanted to be on the podcast. He wouldn't
let him on. Yeah, don't worry, dude, I'll get you
on at some point. I got a questioning you're on.
You know, when you phrase the question this way, you're
on the list. I'll get you there. Don't worry about it.
You were having guys on from other teams. Man, I know,
I'll get you worry about it. Don't worry abou. Dude,

(13:01):
you got Jalen Brunson on, Like, okay, all right, you
know what, Like, why don't you really have him on? No? No, no,
I'm just I'm just throwing out specificity there. I was like, really,
didn't your dad Tamper? Always remember Draymond Green can ruin
your team season, and he can ruin his team season.

(13:21):
It's all there. That's a hell of a start to
an NBA season. Though. We have Zion back and and
dunking and running around and flying around against the Bulls.
We watched the Lakers lose by thirty the other night,
and then Lebron pretty uh casually just dropped the Yeah,
I have no relationship with Kareem. Hadn't told Jabar. And
now we got this. I mean, they come in threes.

(13:42):
That's pretty good start. Yeah. And and we're only in
week four of the NFL. We got so storylines. I mean,
it's fantastic, damn right, so many things. Jets Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets, Jets.
We're sending winning teams over to England for once. Well,
because everybody, what if two shots? Yeah, I know right, Hey,

(14:03):
we're gonna call these teams back and send a couple
of teams that are that are one in three instead.
Let's do that. Be sure to catch live editions of
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten
pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific, Fox Sports Radio The Jason
Smith Show with My bass friend Mike Harmon. He live
from the ti iraq dot Com studios. So, final day

(14:24):
of the season in Major League Baseball, maybe that's a
Draymond Green so upset why he punched Jordan Pool at
practice baseball seasons over man, the Mets blew that division
of the Braves. I'm mad, Oh yeah, I'm a Braves fan.
And then pow could have been what it was, could
have been hoping for fireworks, maybe leading into practice that
you know he'd see a real battle for batting titles. Yeah,

(14:47):
maybe that's what it was. Maybe maybe he was mad
because Draymond Greens, you know, Freddie Freeman shad win this
batting title and and Jordan's Pool said Jeff McNeil should
sit out and win a Mets never won a batting title.
You take that back, and then maybe that's what it was. Well,
just kind of saying that, you know you you go
out and defend it and win it, as opposed to saying, hey,

(15:09):
you go win it, man, make it, take it, don't
you don't you want to force the other guy to
have to make a shot. Well that's what he's into,
Freddie Freeman. So I like, I can't fall to good
strategy from McNeil. I'm sitting out the last I look,
we we've seen what. I got a great conspiracy theory
for you coming up in a second. It's got to
do with Aaron Judge. But yes, Jeff McNeil wins the

(15:29):
n L batting crown, first met to ever do it.
It's awesome that I'm trying to make that get me
excited for Friday. Um, but uh, Freddie Freeman nearly did it.
First two at bats he got hits, he needed to
go four for four potentially would have had a chance
to win. And oh, by the way, if Freddie Freeman
went four for four and then McNeil gets into game
late and like flies out and loses the batting title,

(15:49):
that is so totally Mets. That would be such a
so totally Mets thing. Oh, we gotta get you in
the game, because Freddie Freeman is in three twenty six.
Either get McNeil in the game and he flies out,
he loses time. That would have been that was phenomenal,
And it's like, is this a sign of things to come?
That would have been it? Okay, loses the batting title

(16:10):
by having that one at bat at the end of
the game. Look, you're gonna go on in San Diego.
Guys were reaching out to me to try to find
you because evidently you're ducking him San Diego score at
seven sixty tomorrow to talk about Padres and Mets. Yeah,
I'm doing I'm doing interviews with and I've got I
got all kinds of stuff in San Diego. The next
couple of days, I could run for mayor of San Diego.
The next couple of days of what they want for

(16:30):
me down there? All right, well, you can take my
slot tomorrow morning. Then I'm will sleep in Wait wait, wait,
how early? How early is that? Oh? No, no, no,
you can that's fine. Why do you keep that? And
I'll do the one later on in the day. Okay,
that'll be fine. So batting champion Jeff McNeil, who was
supposed to be getting a car from Francisco Lindor, who

(16:51):
said I'll buy you a car if you win the
batting title. Last year they were fighting over rats and
now hey, now I'll buy you a car. Lindor didn't
say anything about the car in the postgame this conference today.
Why why would you ain't bringing it up. Someone else
has to bring that up. I'm not traversing down that
that that tape was doctored. Oh man, I'll tell you

(17:11):
uh so again. But congratulation Jeff McNeil, the first Met
to ever lead the Majors and hitting awesome, awesome, awesome.
But now my conspiracy theory with your Chicago White Sox
and Aaron Judge. All right, um, I can't help but
think the White Sox did not want Aaron Judge to
win the Triple Crown. Judges that Judge entered today four

(17:35):
points back of Luis Araya's for the league league in hitting,
and the Yankee said they talked about it and Judge
was going to sit, but the game started a little
bit later, and I'm sure the plan was, Hey, Pariah's
goes over two oh for three we get judge and
he goes to for two something like that, potentially he
can win the triple crown. Right. The the math is

(17:57):
there that if he goes over and Judge goes and
he get gets a couple of that bats and it's
he could potentially win the triple crown. Right. So here's
what happens today, right, White Sox play the Twins early
and arise the leadoff batter for the White Sox. This
is so ficient against the White Sox. This is so fishy. Alright.
Arias doesn't walk. He doesn't. Right, He's walked forty eight

(18:21):
times in five plate appearances this year. That's one walk
every twelve at bats a right, so that's not a
lot of walks. First two times up Arias walks first
two times. Up comes up in the first hitting, say,
comes up in the first sitting twice because that they
batted around in the first sitting. He walks both times,

(18:43):
same pattern of pitches both at bats. First two pitches
or balls, all right, that it's two and oh you're
sitting back and not swinging. Next pitches to strike. Then
the next two pitches are ball for and he walks.
So now here he is now his batting average stays
the same, and the first two at bats he's got
a free pass down to first base. And now it's
it's almost impossible for Judge to win even if he
does come off the bench, because a rya Is is

(19:04):
through a couple of that bats and still is hitting
three six team. So he doesn't walk. He walks once
every twelve at bats. He walks twice in the first inning. Okay,
that doesn't happen all right? Now your picture Davis Martin,
who has walked seventeen people all season long, right in
sixty one innings, Not that he's got a ton of it,
but seven. I was gonna say that that ratio, I

(19:27):
don't know in the end after after this since year
at two point seven per nine inning, he's about he
didn't he's he's walking one every four innings about That's
where he's at, one every four innings. That's where he's about, right,
all right? Riya's was the only batter he walked in
the game, and he walked him twice. Okay, so you

(19:47):
tell me if the White Sox didn't come into this
game saying, yeah, we don't want Aaron Judge to win
the triple crown. That just doesn't work out. I get
last day in the season, all kinds of things. A
RYA's plays. He doesn't walk. He walks twice in his
first who at bats gets walked by a guy that
isn't a wild pitcher, not like suddenly you know he's
someone who doesn't walk. Anybody likes Clayton Kershaw. He walks
like one guy every eight weeks, but he doesn't walk

(20:10):
a tun He walks two guys in the game, and
the first two times up he walks Awry and that's
the only guy he walks. Yeah, that seems fishy. That
seems a little fishy. Yeah, I'm gonna say no, oh,
don't stop. Stop just to defend your own Chicago white socks,
it's two fishy. It's like it's like you're making it
sound like he has a no walk rate. He's he's

(20:31):
over two point five per nine innings coming into the game.
Isn't there with the hole in the doughnut? Yes, for nine,
not for an inning in a third no, but no,
but not right. But it it extrapolates over nine innings.
We do this with every stat we do it here,
and that walk rate is it on in line with
Major League Baseball. It's that sorry, but it's no, it's

(20:56):
it's a but like this was two walks in an inning, alright,
this is two walks in one inning and one innings
worth of pitching because he walked him. Sorry, he walked
him the lead off the game, and he walked the
lead off the second inning. Is average doesn't change, So
that's where that's where you do know he only pitch.
Of course it does because now now suddenly he walks twice.

(21:16):
Is that average doesn't move? No, no, no, I'm talking
about when I thought you're talking about Martin's walk average. No,
I'm talking about arias bating. Average doesn't move. That's so
if he wants to reach, go reach. Just Judge's that
week he didn't run. You want to extend your strike zone,
have at it. Remember most of those at bats were
seven and eight pitches. So they did go at him,

(21:39):
and then they didn't give in, and he let the
ball go across for ball four. They didn't give it.
Aria has got one strike in both at bats. Same
thing too, and oh strike one, ball three, ball four,
same thing, same thing, Same thing about that. David Davis
s Martin a guy who coming into the year, Uh,
nobody knew who he was. He hadn't pitched. He's a

(22:02):
new arm for the squad. But sure, we don't want
Aaron Judge to win the triple crown. You can't tell
me there's nothing there. What that Tony Russia calling a
code read from? I mean, come on, hey, before I retire,
I don't want to crown I you know what I mean,
A lifetime baseball man, celebrated for my use of the

(22:25):
bullpen and and changing how we look at games and
Ecker Sleeve's revival and everything else. But blank that. On
my way out, I'm gonna say, you know, screw the
sanctity of the game. I don't want this guy getting
a triple crown on my watch. Mediocre squad. Somebody didn't
want him to get it because mediocres right, because you

(22:45):
were one that's you can go through the season. It's
it's really kind of funny because if you just pick
any random point, they were pretty much five on trip.
But if you tell me if there was a if
there were sports detectives that tried to find uh answers
to I don't want to say crimes is a bad word,
but like things like this, like was there conspiracy, Like

(23:07):
if you're conspiracy like the X Files, but for sports, right,
you're telling me that's not enough evidence to open investigation.
Of course it is. This is where you come to
work in the morning. And like in the movie Where
the Where the the sergeant calls you in, he's really
got an ill humor because you know, no sergeants in
any any police movies ever are really funny. They're always
mad about something and they start yelling at you on
this is your case. Open this up, Go talk to people.

(23:29):
There's something there. And then the two detectives go, but
but but but but serge, why are we doing it?
Just go do it? Just go don They go out
and made moan and complain why they're going out, And
now they go and they investigate. We have a movie.
If there was sports detectives investigating something like this, there's
there's way more evidence to go and investigate. They could
open up. If there was a sports district attorney, they

(23:50):
would open up. They would file charges. They would say
we're coming after you right now. It would make that
fish cheating scandal with the weights and the filets look
like a trip to the Candy store. We're gonna get
those guys who put the weights in that fitch. We're
gonna get these guys who don't want Aara judge to
win the triple Crown. No, I like that. That's good. Uh,
let that anger float through you. Look, he had four

(24:12):
other games, Uh this year did young Mr Davis Martin
where he allowed multiple walks. He only had one game
or three games, three games all season where he completed
six innings of work twice and that's the only guy.
He walked in the first inning and a bat in

(24:33):
the first ten back again, Aria has had a great eye.
That's why he's the champ. You you'd be bad. You
know if if you'd be the first guy I would
go to and I would walk away going This guy
knows something. He lied to us, he knows something. He's
just defending the White TuS because it's his team. He
knows something. Whether it's LaRussa or Ron Kittle or Greg Lozinski,

(24:56):
he knows something. He knows something's going on here. Let's
let's let's put a tale on Harmon. Let's see where
he goes and see who he talks to. Let's go
to a judge and get that search for it available
right now, late at night, because the judge is always
sleeping whenever they go to his house. Let's get let's
make let's tale harmon to make sure. Let's see what
he knows. I know a lot of things, and I
drink a lot. Isn't that when the lines that came up,

(25:19):
isn't that my my guy dinklags line or something? Drink
and I know things? Yeah, that's somebody something. I'm telling you.
Somebody didn't want Aaron Judge to win the triple Crown.
Somebody didn't want him to do it. I don't want
to do it. You know, you know how he could
have really made his case? How's that? Pick up a
bat and stand a post. You're not even gonna give

(25:41):
me a little bit that. I think it's one of
your most creative conspiracy theories ever. No, this is creative
because if this was a guy that was a chap
as older picture that knew a you know what, I
want to make this guy the king for I want

(26:02):
to riyahs to keep air judge who's torched me multiple
times and I've led highlight shows with him launching bombs
on me. Then I can buy it. This guy's a
kid man out there dancing and I here he's a
guy trying to secure his spot for three with whomever
is managing the squad. Yeah, but remember it, did you

(26:23):
know the phrase it takes two to tango? The guy
doesn't walk a riahs doesn't walk, He doesn't walk down. Well,
you know, maybe maybe he was on the take and
say on the take, as as he didn't see in
anything in the zone. See now see that's where I
just caught you. Now, wait a minute. He just said
someone's on the take, and he's the guy that just
lied and said there's nothing there? Did did I not

(26:44):
use the turn of phrase just because I knew who
would get you all excitable? He took, He took pitches,
you know, and he wants to extend to strike zone.
Have at it. And in the first inning, hey, in
the first inning, you also don't know what the umpire's
calling yet, high zone, low zone. Are you getting the
black of the plate or not? Okay, obviously he didn't

(27:04):
get like that because he gave up like seven runs.
But again, the only guy he got none of the plate,
the only guy he walked, the only guy he walking
through him? Two strikes at both that was the best hit,
he was their best hit, or why would you give
him anything to hit? This is this is where I
would have you in an n y p D Blue squad,
where I'd be okay, now let's let sip of which
we're gonna be bad cop and then suddenly you see

(27:26):
you would sing, You would sing and go up. I'm sorry,
I would say this in response, this is really your
half ass effort to justify Jeff McNeil, although Jeff McNeil
has nothing to do with that. Jeff mcneilh lad the
major leagues in batting. Jeff McNeil is a superstar, and
he's trying to get me excited about Friday, which is
getting more this day off. It doesn't matter, and he

(27:48):
again I I applaud. I just think there's a lot
of folks that are mad about the sanctity. Why would
you not go out and try to win? It's like,
well Judge didn't. And McNeil looked around saying that, wait,
he's got to go for for or half at it.
He goes four before I'll get in there. I'm telling you,
if he goes for four, congratulations like my cap. Yeah
he won, Congratulations you one that would have been so

(28:09):
totally Mets out of it. So okay, no, it would
have been so totally met. More one last thing, this
would have been so totally Mets. Judge goes four for four.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Freeman goes four
for four and he leads McNeil by a percent half
a percentage point where if McNeil goes in the game
and gets a hit, he wins the batting title. And

(28:31):
then McNeil goes in and he hits a dribbler down
the first baseline. It's like, I can read your mind.
I was thinking the same thing, and in extending himself
to try to beat it out, he pulls a hamstring
and is out for the playoffs. That would be the
only thing that would be more so totally met than that,
because because it's the art of radio. I didn't talk

(28:51):
over you, but that was the exact scenario I had
in my head that entire time, as you were going, well, no,
that's not totally Mets, Like, oh, I know where this
is going, boy signs. You've been working with your radio
partner a long time and is fatalistic. Mets fandom would
come into play be sure to catch live editions of

(29:57):
Smith Show with my best friend his name as Mike
Harmon and uh we uh, well, you and I had
a had a spot open on our bench now in
fantasy because it's cold. Beasley retired today. Oh did we
have him on a roster? Yeah, well, the one of
the teams you and I do together, the Dynasty League.
You know, we had Beasley because a deep you know,

(30:18):
there's no free exam, there's there's nobody ever there. So hey,
let's go get so cold. Beasley retires, so that I
released him, so we'll get somebody else. Um, twenty roster
slots and twelve teams. That's a lot of guys. Yeah. Yeah,
you thought maybe he would come in beat Julian Edelman
with the Bucks, but it didn't work out. The games

(30:39):
was it was worried, wishing, wanting, hoping was the expectation.
I know, but this is a guy who, at thirty
three is one of the better slot receivers in the NFL.
He's coming off of back to back eighty to catch seasons. Now,
is is he a big, super duper start. No, but
he's a really good slot receivers moved the chain's guy,
rely doable route runner and a guy that you know,

(31:02):
you look at three straight seasons over a hundred targets
back to back, eight two catch seasons, like you said,
and a reliable you know, sitting down on his own
and and just scrape over and get you your yardage.
Many people are going and have already said it's a
COVID backlash because Cole Basler is one of the most
outspoken players about not getting vaccinated for COVID. Right. He

(31:26):
was on social media a lot last year questioning why
he had to get a shot, and and and wanted
to know why certain things, why the NFL wanted them
to do certain things. But now suddenly you have to
get a shot to play. And he was very active
on social media about this and there's going to be well.
He was blackballed from the NFL. He couldn't get a

(31:46):
job because of his COVID stance the Bills. He asked
the Bills for a trade. The Bills said, okay, nobody
wanted him. Nobody signed him, and he was out there
up until a couple of weeks ago till Tampa Bay
signs him in. After a couple of games, he decides, Hey,
I want to come and be with my family. Now. Hey, hey,
Tom Brady, I'm going home to be with my family.
So he says, I'm going home to be with my family.

(32:08):
Now he's retiring, and yeah, I get that. You can
say the hey, yup COVID. He was kind of pushed
out and nobody was interested in him because of that,
because he's very outspoken. He actually missed a game. Uh.
He was fined many times for for violating COVID protocols.
That's not why Cole Beasley couldn't get a gig and
now his NFL career is over. Cole Beasley couldn't get

(32:29):
a gig because he couldn't handle social media. He couldn't
make a choice and not vent on Twitter and make
his thoughts and make his thoughts about make his his
vaccination thoughts known, right, because it's a choice for everybody
has a choice to make. Okay, that's great, But he
goes on social media and he's mad, and he's mad

(32:49):
that he's that he's got to that he's got to
do this, and he goes on and he questions the NFL.
It's like, we're trying to get through a pandemic. You
don't want to take your shot. That's fine, We're telling
you you can play. You just have to go through
the protocols. No, he was mad about that and events
about it on social media all the time. And what
happens people see that, The other teams see that other team, Well,
do we want Cole Beasley? He's gonna come in here?
Is he gonna be abstraction? Is he worth it? The

(33:12):
Bills don't really want him anymore? Yeah, maybe we're not.
Just shouldn't in being in the Cole Beasley business. Had
he just been a guy that didn't want to get vaccinated.
But I don't want to. I don't tweet about it.
Guess what, He's probably still playing, but he felt the need.
I gotta go on social media and make sure everybody
knows how I feel about vaccination. I can't just say
it's my choice and I'm not gonna I'm okay. Everybody

(33:33):
would respect that and say, all right, I get it.
We could agreed, disagree, but that's it. But he decided
I'm going on social media. How many times last year
did we see it? Was he a big story? Look
at what Cole Beasley has to say about the NFL
and and double standards about vaccination for so had he
stayed off as social media? Cole Beasley still in the NFL,
he's still playing. He's on a new team, and he's
playing well, and he's catching six or seven passes a week.

(33:56):
Maybe the case maybe also just wants to go home.
Maybe he's the D three and and the grind name
worth it. If you're gonna get targeted two times a
game and still put your body through it. I mean
there's there's myriad reasons. Certainly social media. We've talked about it.
You know what what the value of a player is
and his output versus what a distraction or extra attention

(34:18):
is brought in and and maybe he just hit the
threshold there. I will love more on this, got more
in a big other big stories coming out of the
NFL coming up next right here, Jason and Mike. This
is Fox Sports Radio.
