We have a real honest to goodness, blowout game tomorrow
night between the Cowboys and the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Spread keeps growing. The last I saw it was eight
and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Oh no, no, no, no, now now it's nineteen nineteen. Yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah. Actually the the the post Micah Parsons trade,
uh just hit you hit refreshed and it goes to nineteen.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Is this the number of players that refuse to participate
and protest to Jerry Jones?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Uh, I think that. I think they would all protest
if they could. You know, they're all getting paid. That's true.
That is true.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
In the end, it creates opportunities. You know what you
want to shine? That is shine because everybody just pointing
out all the stats. Look how terrible they were when
he was off the field.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
They were terrible with him.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, but all of.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
It to say that, you know, there's some of those metrics.
So it's like, all right, now's your chance to step up,
big boy, get out, Dak Prescott.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Ball is in your court, my friend. So we'll preview
this game, give you our picture tomorrow night. We got
some big draftking stuff coming up in a few minutes
that we have for you. But I know today is
a real if you saw people running in the streets today, screaming, crying,
blood coming from their eyes. Was that? L La yourona,
(02:22):
La lorona, la corona youirona right, you don't wait, get
Monty belanyas in here, Monty, how do you say? Okay? Yeah,
and that's what the what the lady?
Speaker 5 (02:38):
It's the one who cries a lot is to cry?
Speaker 6 (02:43):
Okay, So like the weeping crying Yes.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
The weeping crying woman. Yes, yourna is a much better
title than that. Yeah, like I said, like a horror mo. Yeah,
like like like the weeping crying woman. I would go,
that's a terrible title. But wait a minute, exactly all right,
all right, you didn't trust my translation, No, I did.
Just wanted to make sure to me because if you
say something and it doesn't you know, maybe you say
(03:07):
put the wrong accent on the wrong part of the word.
It could be something that's not good. Yeah, we do
that in English and it happens all the time. Okay,
that's confused with my sharona. Guys, maybe my Sharona was
in La yourna do do do do do?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Dude, la yourona.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
I got bloody eyes, I got bloody eyes, and I
will kill you, Sharona.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Dude, do do Do Do Do Do?
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Like?
Speaker 1 (03:31):
That's the music that accompanies the kills. It's a good bassline.
It's the new You just have a guy walking around
the base.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Was that?
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (03:39):
No, the killers yet? But I can't see him not
but the guy with the basses there, you know the
killer's coming. You see the basses in Do Do Do
Do Do?
Speaker 4 (03:46):
He's playing a guitar from one hundred years ago, so
it's self amplified, so he can walk around without.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Having having any kind of electricity round.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I'm gonna kill you now. I'll kill you now, and
I'll kill your best friend. It is Lae Yourna who
you got the bloody eyes? Bloody eyes pouring down your face?
Is that blood? Lorona? Dude?
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Do dude? Dude? He made a blood red like Sangria.
Figure out how to make.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
God Agrea okay? So again, if you saw people running
around today upset, screaming, bloody eyes.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
How do we get on this?
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
I got the bad It is because Red Zone is
going to have commercials starting on Sunday. Scott Hansen does
the interview today on on Pat McAfee show.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Did he did?
Speaker 4 (04:41):
He try to tell you how tough his negotiations were. Again,
you know, you know, you know it.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Scott hit I worked in a little bit at NFL network.
Nice dude, nice dude. Uh I love how the point
he went on, he he made sure to say, this
was not my decision to have commercial this is above
my pant I'm hosting the show.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Don't blame me.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
But you know, Scott Hansen is the only one you see,
so who else are they gonna blame? Exactly, You're like
a base it you gotta wear it. So with great
power and paycheck comes great responsibility. There's going to be
commercials in the first year, you know, not that since
the ESPN, you know, buying NFL that were buying red zone.
But these changes were already in the ESPN takeover doesn't
take into effect until after this year. But we'll put
(05:21):
a pin in the ESPN stuff for a second. So
he says we're gonna have commercials, and and his open
is gonna change to well, it's gonna be welcome to
seven hours of football. I can't say commercial free. Welcome
to seven hours of football. And the you would think
it was the Decline and Fall of Western Civilization, Part
three After this today. Uh again, I love Scott. It's
not my decision. So many people going absolutely nuts on this.
(05:44):
And the thing is, it's not gonna be like commercials
to the side where you see the two box, of
the four box, the eight box, they play a commercial
while you're seeing it. This is gonna be we are
cutting away to commercials while stuff is happening. Like a
few times an hour they will cut away to commercials.
And Scott An says, you're not gonna miss a touchdown,
(06:06):
And I want to say, you cannot guarantee me that.
You cannot guarantee me. Now, if you want to tell
me we're not going to miss a touchdown, you can you, okay,
but don't tell me we're not gonna miss a touchdown live, right,
because you're not gonna be able to do that. Ve right, Well,
I get it right. Look, I toasted Fantasy Zone for
three years. It was so much fun. We got every
touchdown in, we had almost every field goal in, we
(06:26):
got big first downs in. Doesn't always happen live, but
we get it all in, right, So don't worry, you're
not going to miss a touchdown. But what is not
being said is that you're probably gonna miss a touchdown
live just because you gotta get pay muscials in somewhere.
It's gonna happen. Now, Well, everybody's right again, bloody eyes,
bloody face, everything out. You know, all all this bad stuff.
The zombie apocalypse is here. It's it's going to be fine, Okay,
(06:49):
because what is this gonna be? This is not gonna
be like your network TV show where hey, we have
the t's and three minutes of commercials and then a
twelve minute segment and then three minutes of commercials. No,
what is probably going to happen? I assume that because
they know they can't go away for that long. Probably,
And I say probably again, I'm not knowing, but I'm
thinking if I if I'm doing, if I'm on the
(07:11):
business end of this three or four times an hour,
there will be thirty seconds to a minute worth of commercials.
That's what I'm thinking. Again, I don't know, because they
were very cagey about what it's gonna be. Now, Potentially,
when the games get longer and or not to get
when the day gets longer and you get into the
late games and there's only three or four games happening late,
(07:33):
maybe then you'll see minute and a half, two minutes
of commercial because there's only three games, but the early
games I can't believe, because if you're away from the
action for more than a minute, people are gonna write
and throw their TVs out the window, like that's what's
gonna have. That's how mad people are about this. They're
so mad, but they're mad at Scott Hanson. Now. I
know you have some kind of saying though, but from
the most part, it's gonna be fine. If that's the
(07:55):
way it is. You build in a minute, three or
four times an hour, Okay, I think that's absolutely fine, right,
I think I think it's okay to do that. It's
naive to think that they're not gonna try to find
a way to sell more commercials, sell some kind of
on this. Hey, we had the fast Lane for a
long time, right, that was the way they sold It
was a commercial free football every game, every touchdown, you like,
(08:15):
red zone. Okay, that's fine, it's absolutely fine. But to
to to think that that was always gonna be that way, now,
your little naive, right, And to think that at some
point a pizza company wasn't gonna say where can we
get more pizza on this. Oh well, stuff the crust.
Oh that's fantastic. Now it's like, okay, now we really
have stuff crust. But to think that, okay, I'm never
gonna get No, no, no, we're gonna get it. They're gonna
(08:35):
find a way to put more cheeses out what they
did in Chicago. You just start rising. Oh yeah, yeah,
raising cheese. We're gonna get We'll get to an entire
cheese crust where the crust itself is cheese, like that
collid flower stuff, which is Ty Shirt will be the
first guy to tell you a cauliflower empty calories, Why bother?
(08:55):
It's gonna be fine.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Right.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
It goes back to two thousand and two, the controversial
album released by Tom Petty called The Last DJ as
we celebrate mediocrity. All the boys upstairs want to see
how much you'll pay for what you used to get
for free.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Now I like that.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
I like it.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
It's a great album, great title track. Highly recommended. You
add it to your playlist. It's very skating the record
business and what was going on, plug all the pail,
all that fun stuff that we have to talk about
every year. But when we get down to it, you're
gonna have the these blocks and think about the revenue
that comes in off of this, right, the thirty second
(09:39):
block say that you have now in the early games,
think about all of the different ad agencies trying to
get their client is for those thirty seconds, it's gonna
be like Super Bowl ads on a micro scale, right
where we're trying to buy those kind of options. For
the late games where there's only three three games going, yeah,
you're gonna have windows where there's gonna be tele vision
(10:00):
timeouts that just sync up. It's like, all right, you
get to your break and this is where you can
go to the bathroom break if you're Scott Hansen and
you get all that kind of stuff in. But to
lament this life goes on. Man, it's like the fracturing
of all the different streaming options that you have and
people doing the well, it would cost you x amount
(10:21):
of money to watch all of them. It's like, if
it's important to you, you'll find a way to pay
for it.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
If not, you'll move on. You'll lose some of those
games again. Once upon a time, what do we have
three games a week? You had a Monday night game,
you had your Sunday window wherever you were. Maybe you
got a doubleheader and then you got Sunday night football.
All right, that's it, that's all all you got. Then
Thursday shows up. Cool, we get that.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Like those are all ticked off on If you have
cable still or yes, if you have to subscribe to
a couple of things, you make your choice. It's one
one less, one fewer, lunch out, or whatever the case
may be. But there's no putting the genie back in
the bottle. I mean, you're trying to figure out where
you can get revenue from any which way. I'll take
you to an example. Back when I was first doing
(11:05):
fantasy stuff at Yahoo, right, it was all right, we
need to figure out how to monetize some of this stuff.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Well what did everybody do. Everybody in the industry had
gone to that you need to pay for your league,
you need to pay for your team. However you were
going to go through it. But it was twenty five
bucks ahead no matter what. Well, we still had a
free game. So we're growing and we're getting a lot
of users. Well, what was the winning point live stats
type being able to load up?
Speaker 3 (11:30):
So we built.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
The indestructible stat track or app, and they're like, well,
how do we make money off It's like, well, you
sell it, right, you could buy an individual, you could
buy it as at a discount for your league. For
week one, we give them the old for lack of
a better analogy, everybody gets a taste, right the drug dealer.
Hey man, pretty good?
Speaker 7 (11:51):
Yeah like that.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
You gotta come back. Yeah, wait, why don't I get
it this week?
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Now?
Speaker 4 (11:56):
You know, for nine ninety nine for the rest of
the year, and you know what, thousands upon thousands off you.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Nit's same thing here.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
They're trying to figure out how to pay for talent,
how to pay for the rights to the games you
so desperately want to watch that cost money, right, And
that's what people forgetting all of this stuff right, It's
it's not free just because at some point a bunch
of people decided this information would be free. They used
to get click, you know, money off ads per click
(12:24):
and all of those.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Kind of things.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Well, the world's changed, and with it comes this next evolution.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
You don't have to like it.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
You don't have to love it, and you know it.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
You don't like it, don't watch Oh wait, wrong team
and guys to start talking about stuff with that.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Yeah, look, now to be to think about this from
the perspective of being a consumer of this. Right again,
if it's three or four breaks of thirty seconds to
a minute each one, right, this is gonna tell you
when I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna I'm
gonna go make a sandwich real fast. I'm gonna go
grab something out of the out of the refridgerat. I'm
gonna go because I want to be told when to
do that dirt, you know, if I'm watching going, okay,
(12:58):
can I go get it now? I don't know what's
gonna happen. Okay, I have a minute. I have a minute.
So now this is when I know I can go
either to the bathroom or I can go get something
out of the refrigerator and be back. Right, I have
a minute. I'm not gonna not.
Speaker 8 (13:17):
Bathroom.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Go.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
I mean, that's a very valuable time. Like I like
to be told, hey, okay, now now leave like I
don't want to sit. I don't want to sit there
and go Okay, I gotta go. And then you stand
there and you look and you walk three you walk
away three feet away further than in here.
Speaker 8 (13:30):
Oh, let's take it out of green Bay. Oh, I
can't leave it, but I can't believe it's green Bay.
And you're like, oh my god, I gotta go to
the bathroom. Something on your bathroom. I gotta go get
the refrigerator. I gotta eat up that pizza.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
I could grab the pizza, get it in the microwave
for thirty seconds, be back, and don't miss anything. It
tells you when. Okay, so you can. So that's it.
It's good, Like I I, this is good. This is
going to be fine. Again. Remember what what you talk
about with commercials, right? If I again, if it was
like like network TV, where forty four minutes you're getting
forty minutes and sixteen minutes and commercials, yeah, okay, you're
(14:06):
ruining the product. But this, this will be okay, this
will be fun. Yeah, but you're not in trading spaces
where that three seconds cost you billions of dollars because
you didn't get rid of your soybeans cord whatever. You
missed a touchdown. Oh no, yeah, I mean I.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Would saying the lead in my fantasy league. I wanted
to screenshot.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
And that's the other part of it, is that because
you like, no one's just watching red zone and just
watching football unless you have a device with you, right,
unless you have your iPad, you have a kindle, you
have your phone, whatever it is you're watching, and you're
you're you're looking at STA So for that minute that
you're gone, okay, you have the games up? What's going on? Oh,
you're you're checking something. Oh you know who's in the
(14:48):
red zone at any time, because it lights up every
single Fantasy app, every single NFL. You know, whether you
whether you're ESPN or NFL Dot Cut, whatever it is,
you know where where teams are. You know what's happening,
and you can follow it if you need to. Right,
I mean again, do you really if you're watching red zone? Okay,
if you're watching red Zone, you're not watching your team, right,
(15:10):
You're watching because you're you're watching for fantasy. You're watching
all the games. Are you that upset if you miss
one touchdown and have to see it you know, racked
back thirty seconds later. No, If I'm watching the Jets
and because all of a sudden it's supposed to be
uninterrupted and because of commercials, I miss a touchdown, I'm
really bleeping mad. Now if they go to that I'm
(15:32):
watching my local feed or I've isoed in my NFL
subscription the Jets, and they decide, I'm blank this. We
got enough money, so we got enough money there, so
you're gonna miss the third down play.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Now we got an issue.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
I'm mad because A, the Jets don't score that many
touchdowns when I see him want to celebrate, but be like,
if that's the case, that's what I'm mad about. Like
if you take my favorite team away from me when
I'm emotionally involved, but fantasy you're watching seven, Yeah, I
think it'll be okay. Yes, it sounds awful. It's a
bad optic that suddenly it was oh, no worry, you're
gonna get the same great red zone service. And then
(16:05):
a month later it's all, yeah, we got commercials coming.
So I get it's about but honestly and real, it's
not gonna It's gonna be fine. It's gonna be fun. Yeah,
in the end, I mean, you'll probably have an hour
where it's very limited, like when we have that crossover
right the final minutes of those early games.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
I would suspect you're gonna be very judicious about how
you do that. But for the most.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
Part, it'll be seamless. You'll get all you get to
see all your touchdowns. It's not like they're not showing up,
you know, on your second screen of X or whatever
the hell you're following, because you're not just watching that.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
You're just not right.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
You've got a second device there and you're live betting,
you're watching your fantasy scores, you're watching whatever piece of
information along the way. I don't know a lot of
folks that are sitting there twiddling their thumbs watching red Zone.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
It's a very active time, so you'll you'll get your highlights.
It'll be okay.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Exit, how about a Fresco exit swollen dome? Jason Smith
Mike Harmon live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Again,
it will be fine. I cancel my subscription. How are
you gonna see the games? Now?
Speaker 2 (17:08):
What are you gonna do?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
What do you do? What do you do?
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Is better? Sorry? Go ahead, you do what you tough guy?
Speaker 2 (17:13):
What do.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
They come up with some random streamer option?
Speaker 4 (17:17):
Like you know what, We've got all these guys that
are which is a whole other industry. I didn't realize
they didn't try to crack down on you. Hey, watch
along with me as I'm a.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Fan of a team like the Hell yeah yeah, What's
upon a time we were told they're going to the

we really don't get my Sharona. We don't get the
theme from La yourna whatever. I don't know if there
is a theme for to be.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
A theme, the guy to have some music in there somewhere.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Nah, it doesn't have to at least some in his
music of a guy playing stand up bass or.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
I go all Billy Walsh from Entourage.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
No music.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
I'm gonna score the thing myself with a citar. That's
all it is. That guitar underutilized. When Turtle shows up
with the song from the guy that screwed him over,
I got ten thousand dollars, great, great, great, great great great.
I'm gonna score the whole thing myself with a citar.
I don't know we're gonna make that movie. So happy
(20:37):
NFL Eve and again we have a big night with
so much NFL. We just talked about the big red
zone controversy of twenty twenty five, but it takes a
lot to knock the NFL out for even a few
minutes tonight. You need a really big story. Guess what
we have that really big story for all of you
that said, boy, you know, really Wnba, it's been a
big season, but you know we're missing Caitlin Clark who
(20:59):
hasn't played it. Angel Reese was her boy, really need
a big nah? I delivered to you fresh off the
presses like a like a Pepperoni pizza, just slides right
out of the warmth oven. They handy you and go congratulations, sir,
enjoy the game. Angel Reese and her interview with the
Chicago Tribune.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
That I.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
As on brand as it is for Angel Reese, I
still am stunned that these are some of the things
she has said about her team, about the Chicago Sky
going into the rest of this season and the offseason
so much so and how big is this? What we're
going to tell you about already. According to reports, her
teammates want to meet with her about these comments that
(21:43):
she made about the Chicago Sky. Okay, now what did
she say? Okay, Well, first of all, not happy with
how twenty twenty five has gone. Obviously in the Chicago Sky.
They're terrible, terrible, worst team, you know, tanking for Caitlin
Clark again. She'll go back in the draft of Chicago
and Angel Reese did a wide range interview in which
she talked about next season and threw so many of
(22:05):
her teammates under the bus in the process. Uh, some
of the things she said, quote not settling for the
same blank we did this year. We have to get
good players. I'm willing and wanting to play with the
best and whoever I can help to get the best here.
That's what I'm gonna do this offseason. Okay, all right,
so far, all right, I get it. It's gonna be
important offseason to make sure we attract the best of
(22:27):
the best because we can't settle for what we have
this year. WHOA, these are your teammates, These are your teammates, man.
This isn't hey. I put this on the team. I
put this on the front office. These are your teammates
that you saying, we can't settle for what we have
this year. She went on to say that the only
two players they should definitively bring back are her and
(22:47):
Camilla Cardoso. That's it, right, two players took number in
the first round of the draft early last year, so
apparently everybody else is expendable on this team.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Burn it down.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
She also said that she wants to be there for
her whole career, but if things don't work out, she
might have to move in a different direction and do
what's best for me. She wants their coach to coach
them harder. Tyler marsh head coach needs to coach us harder.
So now she's a coaching expert and she wants Tyler
Marshall well just like just like Caitlyn Clark harder. She
(23:22):
compared the team to the Valkyries, who are aiming for
a playoff bers despite the fact they've been expansion team.
She said that's a team that's not more talented than
the Sky, but have played harder and been more successful.
She's also concerned about the point guard situation, said that
Courtney Vanderslute came back this year after winning the title
with New York, but she suffered a big season ending
ACL injury a couple of months ago. Said that she
(23:45):
doesn't see Vander Slute or anyone else on the roster
as the point guard Chicago can build around because of
Courtney's advanced age. Can't count on her, can't count of
what you have on the roster now, which, oh, by
the way, includes Haley Van Liz, who was your teammate
at LSU and now your teammate here with the Chicago Sky.
So now everybody that's a guard on the team not
(24:07):
good enough, right? Mentioning players by names, throwing her team
under the bus. This is I mean again, what's the
first thing I can say about this? When I say this?
Now you understand that I that that that I'm telling that,
I'm telling you the truth. There is not a player
in sports with a bigger ego than Angel Reese. There
is not a player that plays in any sport that
(24:28):
loves themselves more than she loves herself. Lebron, Lebron, not
even Lebron, not even can you even see Lebron? Okay,
forget about the fact Lebron, But you want to compare,
let's do this. Then you want to compare, Okay, Lebron
has the cachet having been to nine finals, and even Lebron,
(24:50):
Lebron's not going to walk in to and to do
the LA times and say, you know what, the only
guys should be on this team next year are me
and Luca everybody else. You know, the guard situation is
no good. I don't know that Austin Reeves can do
I don't know that we have people on the roster
that can be guards, right, And I want JJ Reddick
to coach us harder.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
So I'll give her credit for putting her name on it,
whereas he normally would be under anonymous sources, no close
to the team.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
No player would say stuff like that would come out.
It's you know, it's more like it's not real like Lebron,
because Lebron has clearly has the resume and the cachet
to do this. Like I compare Angel Reese to Draymond Green.
Draymond's got the cachet right, with the titles and being
in the league for over a decade now. Angel Ree's
been the WNBA for a year and a half, and
suddenly here she is saying all of this stuff This
(25:37):
is like if, really what it is is if Anthony Edwards,
who has coming to the league and gotten a lot
of hype, people think he's a little bit better than
he is. That's kind of Angel Rees. Andrewes is a
really good player, great rebounder. But she's a star. But
is she quite that player? This is if Anthony Edwards
comes in and says, hey, the only people on this
roster next year should be me and Julius Randall everybody else.
(25:59):
We don't have the guards. I don't think Dante DiVincenzo
can do it. I don't think we have this situation here.
Chris Finch needs to coach us harder, Like that's the
equivalent of Anthony Edward. He's not doing that. The biggest
NBA stars know the one thing. I'm not lighting up
my teammates. I'm not lighting up my teammate, no matter
what kind of ego you have. But Angel Reese has
shown from cut when when she when she burst onto
(26:22):
the scene in college, she has been about herself more
than anything else. She wants to be a star more
than anything else. Right, she's doing movies, buying a soccer team.
Her Twitter picture for the longest time was her in
her uniform, pointing at her name and lights you know above,
like a Broadway marquee like that. That's that was her
(26:42):
Twitter picture for a long time. No one loves themselves
more than Angel Reese loves herself. I almost think I
would say, you know, if you could do it over again,
she should do an individual sport because clearly, despite the
fact that she's a basketball player, you don't do this
to your teammates. You want to light up the Chicago
skuy in the front is putting together a bad team.
That's fine, right, you can do that, That's absolutely fine, right,
(27:04):
I get it. Team players do it all the time.
You don't. You don't light your teammates up like that.
You don't do that, right, So now can is there
gonna be any question why the teammates want to talk
to her? What the hell are you talking about here?
Because I'm look at a Chicago Sky team. I look
at it this way. Here's a Sky team that drafted
you in the first round last year, and all the
team has done since they've drafted, supposedly built around you,
is they've gotten worse. And I wonder if the Sky
(27:27):
or any other team is gonna say this, wait for it.
Is she worth the distraction that she brings? Is her
talent worth what she brings on the floor, Because that's
really where you're headed now with this, because this is
unprecedented that you would say this about your teammates, right,
unprecedented and for many players right we saw this with
Raphael Devers right the Red Sox trade, Raphael Devers, great player,
(27:49):
right where they gonna miss him? Red Sox have been
terrifics and addition, by subtraction, Angel Reese is gonna get
to that point the star that she is, and she's
a terrific player, But right now the sky have to
be saying is she worth? Can we build around her?
Is she ever gonna lead? Or any player is gonna
want to come here thinking that Angel Reese is gonna
suck all the oxygen out of the building. And if
she disagrees with what's going on, she's gonna light me up?
Why am I gonna it seems like an awful situation
(28:12):
And if it's a bad situation already, it's not gonna
get better. So all of this, the ego, the the
the shockingness of lighting up your team, it's which you
don't do. That's gonna get to where teams in Chicago
Sky are gonna say, is she worth? Is she worth
the attention? Is she worth this this dro this drama
that she brings to this team.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
I mean, on one hand, I want to say, uh,
you know, give her respect for just here, here's what's
on my mind.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
The other is, you know, you gotta be an adult
in the room and recognize down distance and what goes
on in a locker room, you know, just talking about
Van der Slut and the age, it's an honest moment
of a she's thirty six.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
We can't count on.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Her to come back and play heavy minutes and be
that Okay, that one, I think you can kind of
give it a pass because that's that's a focal point.
And clearly someone who's on on the back end of
their WNBA journey and banking on heavy minutes okay, fine
the rest of it and throwing out the rest of
the roster along the way. It's just it's bad business, right,
(29:10):
And so when we look across the league, it becomes
the age old question of is there another team that
thinks they can get enough box office off of it
that it's worth the trouble, right because you can have
a fractured locker room. We've seen plenty of documentary some
that are playing right now in great numbers.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
You don't have to get along with everybody, you don't
have to like everybody.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
You don't have to say hi walking in and out
of a building like famously in our business, you've had
plenty of duos who walk in and don't say boo
to each other other unless the lights on, right, I mean,
that's just the way it works. But it's magic when
it's on the air. Right here, we hate each other
unconditionally from start to finish. But it's just that I
(29:51):
idea with Angel Reese, and I kept wondering the context, like,
you're not doing an exit interview yet? Was this for
the new movie that she's got come out? A House
of Dynamite, centered on White House staffers grappling with impending
missile strike in America. This gripping drama unfolds in real
time as tensions escalate. No, I think that's what she
just did right here. Yeah, that's what she just did.
(30:13):
So she decided to take that into the real world.
This is Catherine Bigelow movie right. This is that Catherine
Bigelow movie that that's gotten. I got a lot of push.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
It's like eighteen minutes of a nuclear explore or situation
from different perspectives and how we get to there when
it's like the same eighteen minutes over from different people's person.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
The great Jared Harris Anthony Ramos because he might break
in the song you never Know is oh.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
I think it takes place in the Heights this movie,
that's what nice. Yeah, you got Jason eighteen minutes of
the Heights. He may or may not be, you know,
running around in the uniform. Rebecca Ferguson is the leader
with andrews Elba.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
I mean you got pretty good.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
Cast's part of it. Yeah, maybe maybe if it was selling,
did I sell the movie right? Talking about how teamwork is?
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Really?
Speaker 7 (31:00):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (31:00):
No exit? How about a Fresca exit swollen Dome. The
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike carmin Lot
from the Fox Sports Radio Studios time out to find
out what's trending in the wide world of sports. From
someone who brought me to Kei Key Hernandez Bobblehead Dolls today,
it's my new second best friend in the world. Monte Bolanos.
Speaker 6 (31:24):
Yes, you got your bobble heads.
Speaker 5 (31:27):
They were right there when you entered, and you didn't
even see them.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
I asked you, I said, hey, I Den. You said, yeah,
right there, take them and get out. And I said,
all right, great, thanks appreciating thanks Wance.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
Let me tell the listeners that is not how it
went down.
Speaker 5 (31:41):
We'll start in the NFL Fellas, where news just came
out that forty nine Ers and Juwan Jennings of Recient
agreement on a deal that's gonna add three million in
playtime incentives to the wide receivers contracts. So now instead
of earning seven and a half million this season, he
can earn up to ten point five million. Other NFL news,
Chargers running back Najie Harris, who misst training camp because
(32:04):
of that eye injury he sustained during the fourth of July.
He is expected to start in Friday season opener against
the Chiefs. Screen Bay Packers edge rusher Michael Parsons limited
in practice today because of his back injury.
Speaker 6 (32:16):
And how about this. Sixteen point six.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
Million viewers watched Ohio States win over Texas on Fox
on Saturday, the third most watched college football game.
Speaker 6 (32:23):
In the network's history.
Speaker 5 (32:25):
The game was also the most watched Week one college
football game on any network in history. When it comes
to base small, right now, the Yankees and the Astros
are tied at four a piece. Bottom of the eighth inning,
Rockies have scored some runs, but the Giants are still
up nine to five. Bottom of the sixth inning about
to start. In Colorado, the Pirates shut out the Dodgers.
Speaker 6 (32:44):
Three zero boo.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
The Orioles held on seven five against the Padres to
complete the sweep. In San Diego, Blue Jays were down
five runs, ended up coming back and beating the Reds
thirteen to nine.
Speaker 6 (32:54):
The Brewers outscored the Phillies six to three, Rays.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
Held on nine to four against the Mariners, Guardians rush
the Red Sox eight to one, and the Braves defeated
the Cubs five to one. When it comes to tennis,
at the US Open, Naomi Osaka has won her quarterfinals match,
and in the NBA, No.
Speaker 6 (33:10):
We're not going to talk about the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard.
Speaker 5 (33:13):
In fact, yes, pen has a story at The format
for the twenty twenty six All Star Game is likely
to be a round robin tournament. Consisting of three eight
player teams of two USA teams one World team. The
reporter is at the NBA and the Players Union presented
this format to the league's Competition Committee today and the
response was positive.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Wait, I'm sorry I missed that story because I was
planting a tree.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Can you tell me? Can you again? I had to
plan a tree.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
If you really planted.
Speaker 6 (33:42):
That trip, nobody planted anything.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
That was the problem planet the tree.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
I watered it, it grew all.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Well, it's like what was it the techies? Right? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (33:53):
Where you have to water water a plan, keep, keep
it whatever it was in a virtual world.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (34:00):
When I didn't like the creature that that hatched out
of the egg, I would just let it die and
then hope to get a different creature.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
Appay, Yeah, wow murderer.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Wow, I'm just gonna let you die.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Why we should have seen the sign years ago. Thank you, monsie.
That escalated quickly. That's like your unna.

Speaker 7 (35:36):
Ridy one is roped outs or the left tee He's
going back.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
It's out of here.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
Back to back homers.
Speaker 7 (35:43):
For the Blue Jays, and flag puts them in front
six to five. They trailed five nothing, but five homers
later day the lead for the first time in the game.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
Thank you Blue Jays Television Network. Thank you Blue Jays
for the last couple of days as well well. Twenty
two games left now in the regular season. TikTok, Clarice, TikTok.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
You know, if you lived in Cincinnati, you'd be a
fool not to go to the ballpark every game because
you're just gonna see fireworks.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Well in the next after an off day, tomorrow it's
Matt's Reds. You get Jonah Toong on Friday night. Tong Time,
King Tong King. I always liked Tong Time, but I
think King Toong is pretty good. That's that's pretty good. Okay,
that's up bad. Yeah, yeah, I like that.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
I mean I liked what they did before his debut.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
I mean they had got really creative yeah oh yeah,
and everything. But I mean this game, thirteen to nine,
your final with home runs flying all over the place,
So I mean that was fun and entertaining. You know,
the Dodgers, we get, we get schemes and Otani tomorrow
because they pushed Otani back a day.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
So we got chaos. We got chaos, my friend in
Capital City. So Monte Bolan has brought us the story
a couple of minutes ago. Yeah, the ratings for Texas
Ohio State came out today again up to this game
for a long time, two high profile programs. Doesn't get
bigger than arch manning record breaking viewership. With an average
(37:09):
of sixteen and a half million people and a peak
of nearly nineteen million watching it on Fox. It is
the most watched Week one college football game ever on
any network and the third most watched regular season game
in Fox history. Okay, all right, big deal, right when?
And this is something to be expected. You think a
game like this Ohio State in Texas to who the
(37:31):
top five teams in college football? Okay? Great, and it
was close, so everybody stuck around. It was close even
though the game's stunk. And I don't still a know
Afulhio states that good? I mean the production they were
great on Fox productions great. Oh yeah, makes any game
look mean. The Jets look good. Wow, justin Fields looks
so fast, look out Cras. Yes, but what is the
big thing to know? About this right. This is one
(37:52):
of those feather in your cap. And again why we said, hey,
arch Manning is a big deal. It would probably have
been a few million less watching if arch Manning wasn't
Texas quarterback. Which is why we said Friday night, hey,
if arch Manning sucks, college football's got a problem. But
all this does, all this does, and this is the
biggest thing. This is where the SEC and the Big
(38:13):
Ten look at each other and say, this is why
we need our own league and these games. People will
watch big games, and we want bigger more money. More
money is gonna come in with the more people that
are watching. And are people gonna sit around and watch
when our first four or five games aren't against anybody
good and and you know, we get three or four
(38:34):
games over the course of a year that's really good
between our top teams, Like the Big Ten's gonna be saying, boy,
Michigan and Ohio State and Penn State, Well, it's great,
it's great when they get to play each other or USC,
but man, those other games against the IOW Minnesota or
outside the conference, this is where we get more momentum
because if they're smart, the SEC and the Big Ten say,
(38:56):
we need to break away and have our own and
be our own high level D one conference where it's
the Big Ten and the SEC and they play games
against each other, they play games interconference, and all the
games are big because look at the look at the
ratings for this SEC Big Ten game. You're not getting
this over the course of the rest of the regular See,
(39:16):
you're still getting big games. But these are the conferences
clearly that have shown you we are the royalty of
college football.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
But to that point, I mean, you've got two royalty programs,
high profile, high expectations, defending national title team with a
new quarterback who's a big deal. Like we talked about yesterday,
right Julian Sayan coming in. He was the number one
guy after Arch and all of the Arch Manning curiosity.
Your interest was peaked. If it becomes that every week
(39:46):
they become just games, I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
I think you're gonna see another look.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Remember I'm not saying them right away.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Football college football changes every five minutes. You just have
to look at this for the next few years. In
the next few years, I think people would love to
see we get in Michigan Alabama every year. Oh we're
gonna get Ohio State and Auburn. Oh, we're gonna these
are all I gotta watch these games. But this is
also highly rated, everything converging into just that perfect intersection
(40:11):
of conferences and the anticipation of arch Manning and that
curiosity accounts for a lot of those viewers. It does,
and arch man and a week one where you don't
have I mean, you had some other great games, right,
we had a bunch of top ten teams.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
But I mean, this is nothing right because but.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
If if this becomes just a standard thing now, I'm
not saying they don't still have the one or two games.
And look, if the money's right, everything will change tomorrow,
so it doesn't matter. But I think if you have
a whole slate, I think the casuals don't necessarily come
and flock to it.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
I think the casuals watch all those games and don't
watch anything. With the ACC and the Big twelve and
these other conferences, it becomes all big ten SEC games
all the time. It's wall to wall, it's big games
all throughout the difference. What we do with We're going
to fight over it. They're gonna have the best players,
they're going to have the big stars. I mean, really
think about it. If cam Ward was a quarterback from Michigan,
(41:07):
Ohio State, or Alabama, we talk about him. But he
was the quarterback last year from Miami, so okay, and
Miami's great and they're popular, but they're not these teams. Now.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
We rather talk about the U knocking these teams.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Watch out telling you this is if I'm the Tosu
Kai say yeah, let's do it. Let's become that English
Premier League and relegate all the other schools. Wow, you're fired.
Exit out about a Fresca exit swollen dome. Coming up next,
