(00:51):
is the way tire bind should be. Well here we
are just a few minutes away from really the first
must see baseball series of the year, and.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Aaron Judge already has two miscatches.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
We have that he was dropping balls and warm ups already.
Aaron Judge, Dodgers and the Yankees getting set from Chavez
Ravine in a few moments.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
I mean, here it is man.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
You know, like the off night the NBA Playoffs. You know,
we have two more games to go in the Eastern
Conference Finals. I'm gonna say it and make it happen.
And here we are, Mike Carman, the first big must
see series World Series rematch. It two of the greatest
teams in the history of Major League Baseball, and I
got something big on both of these teams. But just
for a second, let's just appreciate here's a great, huge

(01:39):
series at the end of May that coast to coast.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Everybody's gonna tune in for Well, that's the beauty of it.

Speaker 5 (01:45):
They'll need a special TV package to get that done,
but we'll get to that in a minute. Max Freed
seven to oh one two nine era, the Catman, Tony
Gonsolin two and one four six eight e R. Those
are your combatants. We've already done a little bit of
the celebrity uh row looking in and I didn't think

(02:05):
Live Tyler would get there so fast, but hey, you know,
uh you drag and and go and figure out who's
shown up early.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Uh So that's where where we're at with this.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
One, guys.

Speaker 6 (02:16):
Apple TV has literally six minutes and ten seconds to
get their crap together.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Because I got it along here and it's blocked out.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
I'm not I'm not lying to you. I told you that.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
My dad sent me a text about hour ago, Hey,
how am I gonna get this game tonight? And I
sent him a shrug Emochi. He's like, I don't want
you're my answer. Man. I'm like, I okay. I mean
I guess I guess it's gonna be on. I guess
Apple's gonna have it. I guess local markets are gonna
have it. I guess we're gonna get to see Dodgers Yankees.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
For a log in.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
I mean, I don't know, there's there's things of those
kind of consequences, but yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
I mean maybe they're blocking out a fat performance pre game.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Oh come on man, that's that's terrible. That's tough.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
I mean, either that standing in front of song they could.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Yeah, we got the Randazzo Dontrell Willis booth ready to
come out, and now you're getting all the big montages
and tributes to the greatness that is show Hao Tani.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
So yeah, I mean it revs up.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
You got an off day for the Eastern Conference finals
before the Nicks. See if they can use the word
stave again. And then David, game seven. You see, tickets
are sixteen hundred bucks. Get in If there is in
fact a game seven.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Uh, well, because Pat McAfee's gonna fight John mellencamp in
MSG before that game. If that happens, talk about desperation
to get your name somewhere right now. TJ clearly hat
that America if they wind up fighting before game seven.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
But it's the kind of thing. It's like McAfee could
have just shrugged, had a laugh with it. No, instead
he decided full ww. It's like it's John Mellencamp. Okay, man,
come on, who cares?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
But you've got that, You've got the.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
Thunder that are just sitting around and waiting and watching
the world go by. And then we've got off time
for the Stanley Cup Final. So yeah, front and center, Dodgers, Yankees,
let's go all right.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
So one big thing for each of these teams, how
about that one big thing, first big thing, one big thing,
let's go.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
First big thing being the Yankees.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
And it kills me to say this because of the
daily text that I have with my dad and Fabiano.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
It is it is. They are relentless with you.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
It's like I don't want to turn my phone on, going,
what am I gonna get today? Some crazy ass story
about a fan, going, Oh, here's why Jan Soto isn't
as good as Ben Rice? Right, all of this crazy
ass stuff, right, But I do have to say this,
I am I am really scared of the Yankees. The Yankees,
it feels like they haven't even started playing yet. They've

(05:01):
had so many injuries. It only feels like Aaron Judge
is the one guy playing well, even though look, they
have other guys hitting well. Goldschmid's been pretty good, but
it doesn't feel like they have lots of other players
who have really stepped up, right, Like you got Judge
and Goldsman. Okay, that's great, but you know Bellinger kind
of me Andrew he's got thirty two RBIs but he's
kind of meandering. And Ben Rice has hit home runs,

(05:21):
but he's hitting two forty. Yeah, he doesn't feel like it.
But all of a sudden, here they are with all
of their injuries, all of their pitching injuries, and here
they are at thirty five and twenty, a top three
record overall in Major League Baseball.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Like you got.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Rodin and Freedom been carrying this rotation right their whips
are both under one, their wars are near three already
as pitchers the yanke I don't feel like the Yankees
have really gotten started yet, and they're not playing their
best baseball and they're not healthy yet. But here they
are right now, and they're at the top of the
a least now. Granted, their division is terrible, Okay, this
is the worst baseball right It is the worst division

(05:56):
in baseball. And this is something because's like, wait a minute, yeah, no,
I know, I know. We have other divisions that are
usually really bad. They're usually the centrals, but not this year.
This is a really bad division. The Orioles have completely
fallen apart so of the Red Sox. The Blue Jays
are a five hundred team, so is Tampa. Like, this
is a bad division, but I can't fault you for
winning the vast majority of your games and having the

(06:19):
third best record in baseball, having a top three record
depending on the day. The Yankees scare me a bit
because they again, they feel like they haven't even played,
like they're playing at seventy five percent and here they are,
you know, already in position where they could be running
away with the Ale East.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
Well, you know me, I'm I'm the biggest fan of
Carlos Shorgan, going back to his time with the White
Sox everything else. But what's a historical inevitability. He's gonna
spend some time on the il before it's all said
and done. That's just the way it goes. He's got
twelve starts, seven and three record. You know, you got
all the advanced metrics on war and everything else that

(06:57):
he's put up. But beyond he and free, what is
there in that pitching run that that scares you. You got
a bunch of guys, and that doesn't mean they won't
go and make some additions. As we get closer and
closer to the trade deadline, right, all the more protests
about we're not trading Paul Skins. I just think it's
funny because we get to keep saying his name. He'll

(07:20):
end up with someone who is it photoshopping went into
a hat and the best, the best likeness, most seamless
transition into a new uniform wins a prize.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
But that being said, they will be in the marketplace
for another arm or two.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
As we get going, the batting order still waiting for
more consistency from Volpe and Domingus, guys that have come
up through the organization, a lot of fanfare, a lot
of expectations, and they show up now and again, but
the consistency hasn't been there. Rice a nice story is

(07:56):
certainly he's a guy that if you are following all
the lines today, is he the.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Guy that connects with Gonsolin?

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Is he the guy that's gonna have the big game
going in today? But yeah, I think they're a work
in progress, which needs to be noted when you're fifteen
games above five hundred and nine and one in their
last ten and nobody in that division looks like they're
gonna be able to right the ship. I mean, the
Ordels beat the White Sox today to to one, yay,

(08:26):
But there are there are a squad there.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
What do you always say the long road begins with
a single step.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
You always say that, Well, that's all.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
The time.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
Hundred games to figure it out. I'm thinking you're still
gonna have a giant riddler suit question mark for most
of those squads as we go forward. Because there were
big expectations that the Red Sox we would turn things around.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
The Blue Jays.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
We laugh at the Rays and the fact that they
don't spend any money, but what do they do? They
win ninety games a year. Well, this doesn't look like
that that team's going to do that this year. So
for the Yankees, I can't wait to see what the
additions are. But in the interim we get to watch Goes.
I can completely wait, and I hope there's none because

(09:13):
I don't I don't want to hear it. I don't
want to share the backpage that. I don't want to
do that none. But I get what you're saying. But
I can absolutely wait. I can hope there's nothing. I
can open the deadline they decide, you.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Know what, where good?

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Where we're at.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
We'll wait for the injured guys to come back. That's
all I'm at. I'm completely okay with it. Waiting, wishing
and hoping, as you always say, not a strategy. All right,
So now the game is underway, top of the first inning,
and Frostburg has sent me a picture of what he
is looking at right now, and that is how great
do for direct TV screens with nothing on them except

(09:49):
the direct TV logo.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
This is what this is what he's looking at.

Speaker 6 (09:54):
Right now somehow to pull back the curtain here somehow
Steve de Seger, how's the game?

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Well, it's a wizard. I will say this about.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Either he know somebody or he paid somebody.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yeah, well no, I will say that Steve de Sager
is deceivingly resourceful. And if I said, who's the one
guy at work that's gonna somehow very quietly find the game?

Speaker 2 (10:18):
However, Borderline Legal.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
He can find it and not tell anybody it's Steve
de Sager because there's other people. I'd say I found
it right like, I got it, I got it, I
got right here all time. Now. The saga is one
of those ah yeah and oh oh no, I've had
the game for the.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Last four Borderline Legal.

Speaker 7 (10:34):
It's a very simple explanation. I've had to answers.

Speaker 8 (10:37):
Have the corporate account, which is why we get the
Thursday night football that's usually streaming and the Friday baseball
that's usually streaming.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
How does that help me and why do we get
access to such things?

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Well, they have the.

Speaker 8 (10:49):
First inning on Twitter for free to try and get
people to buy quick Frostburg.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
You can watch the first day.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
No legitimately, though it does beget the question. I'm like,
you know, we need we need it for our jobs too.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Yeah, yeah, I think I think. I think it's pretty
important for us. I think it's important for all saying
that's a question. Yeah, no spoilers, No, I'm I'm out
of your update, Steve.

Speaker 8 (11:13):
I believe me, I am at least as surprised as
you that anything in our studio is working compared to
something in the other studios.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Okay, but uh yeah, no, no, Sta I can I
can definitely see Steve being that that sneaga.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Oh no, I've had all the games all year. What
are you talking about. I've been able to see every minute.
You should see the angles I have.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
It's like that stadium it's so Fi where you go
and you sit and you feel like you're surrounded by
the team, like that what they're showing at the last
Wrexham episode where oh I feel like I'm watching, I'm
involved in the entire process.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
I bet it's one of those things. That's what I'm
talking about, Duke.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
I don't know, you know, I'm talking what's the new
immersion that you can get. It's it's it's called something special,
like they have it near Sofi where you can it's
like a undred dollars.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
The cosm.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Yeah, the cosm when you feel like you're actually at
the game with people sitting around you and next to you.
I mean, I think that's what Steve would probably have
and say, oh, I've had the cosm for the for
the beginning of baseball season.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
It has been great.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
I've actually been his house. I've actually been perched on
show hal Tani's helmet since opening day. I'm like, ant Man,
I could just see everything from the top of a
Toni's helmet.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
Well, as long as he gives a consistent effort. This
is like that that ant Man. I mean, you know,
I mean we got questions about the other guy.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
Yeah, this is true.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
So the game is underweight? Yes, Okay, watching on Twitter,
you would well, what's the matter?

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I mean, you were starting to talk about the game.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
I could, but but it's happening. Do you want to
go back and watch the first out of the game,
Aaron Judges batting. Do you want to go back and
watch the first out or you want me to tell
you what happens. Wow, that's a long ball. Wow, that's
hit really far. Wow, that's all all my goodness. That

(12:59):
didn't take long. That was pretty good. My next line
was going to be that Mike Piaz in the head
as he was driving by on the freeway.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Wow, what a big book.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Uh so yeah, justin I would say, good luck.

Speaker 7 (13:14):
Oh, Judge just killed it to center field, No kidding?

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Did he really hold us?

Speaker 7 (13:18):
Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Did he really know? You're kidding? You were two seconds
ahead to be Steve.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
No, Nemi, I swear to you.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
I was not.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
I swear to you.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
I was four hundred and fifty feet.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
I have no idea I would have been way far
ahead of that if I if I mean, come on,
I'm not that far ahead.

Speaker 6 (13:35):
That's I'm gonna put seven dollars curses on the next
tomorrow like nobody's business.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
That was you were literally two seconds ahead. The pitch
was coming in, Steve, so as you said that.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Ye make it home run number nineteen for Aaron Judge,
So Yankee already three four? Fuck you gotta get this
count because no, go ahead, go ahead, keep going. How
he dropped in fifteen, sixteen, seventeen nineteenth. All right, there
we got cat man ready for a new job. Let

(14:09):
Express Employment professionals help. While Express helps people in all
industries find work, are sweet spot is logistics roles and
Express never charge job seekers a fee. Go to expresspros
dot com. We got a big NFL story of the way.
Plus what's the one big thing for the Dodgers here?
Business big series? Wait till I tell you. Not only
is it a great idea because you know it's my idea,

(14:31):
but it also fits in with exactly what the Dodgers
need right now and it involves show. Hey, O Tani,
what is that that's next? Right here? Jason and Mike

Sports Radio videos on YouTube. Well, yes, and Aaron judge

(15:22):
massive home run to centerfield has given the Yankees a
one nothing lead.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
What's happening?

Speaker 1 (15:31):
What's?

Speaker 4 (15:31):
What is?

Speaker 1 (15:32):
What is?

Speaker 3 (15:40):
If I can't watch it, I'm gonna troll them.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Just it's a little early to pull out the fat,
Joe Man. I mean it's only the first inning, Joe. Yes,
you're losing one nothing, and Aaron Judge hit a home
run about five hundred and seventy five feet. But it's
so just the first inning. You're going to save. You're
trolling to like the fifth inning when Aaron Judge starts Trump.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
You're gonna make up that Judge hit a home run.
I'm gonna make up that Otani's already hit two.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Okay, Okay, I'm not making it up two one Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
No, it's just gonna give fake scores the entire night
eleven one Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Here in the third inning, h sixteen to one Dodgers.

Speaker 6 (16:17):
There's no way I would give the Yankees three runs.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Shalty, Sorry, well uh so. Yes. A massive home run
in the top of the first inning from Aaron Judge
gives the Yankees a one nothing lead headed to the
bottom of the first inning. And I do have to
say this, man, Uh, some of the camera work on
Apple TV is absolutely outstanding. Like it's one of you know,
they use those new cameras that that you see all

(16:42):
over and you know they just had a big pen
around show.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Heyo, Tani's he's stepping in.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
The pup this Jason, he did hit a home run.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
It's amazing show Hey Otani and Frossburg is correct, he's the.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
He's got one war to go.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Well, I'll tell you what if this doesn't get people
to buy Apple TV nothing.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
The first inning is free on Twitter.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
If you don't want to buy Apple TV right now
after seeing Judge and Otani Homer in the first inning,
you're never gonna sell this.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
This is like when Kramer promised that kid to Paul On.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Homer's Yeah, that's so, that's just ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Free decides he's going up dead center of the plate,
challenging Otani said, take that.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
I don't even need Apple TV to know. Homers a
home run to right center field. And of course you
know they're showing Otani around the bases and then they're
showing Aaron Judge just hit hit center field, Like, what
do you want me to do? I had no chance
to catch or drop that. Man. I mean, really, if
seeing Judge and Otani Homer in the first inning doesn't

(17:47):
want to get you to but they'll never sell another subscription.
I don't care how many times you tell me, Oh,
severance is really good. No, severance is boring. It is boring.
And I have tried.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
Five times to start that damn thing I have not
gotten past. No, like eight minutes into episode two. It
is boring.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
And so I don't care what you tell me. How
much I but you like severts? No, I don't, but
yes you do. No, don't tell me I don't like it.
It is boring. Yes, it's very very boring. I don't
care how many but show me the Yankees Dodgers show me.
That's just a shame.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Oh man?

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Uh so okay, So it is one one after an
O Tawni home run off of Max Freed. Really, I
mean an amazing first inning right now for the Dodgers
who are playing without Mookie Betts. BET's not playing in
this game because of a mishap with his toe. He
stubbed his toe, Yeah, he stubbed his toe at some point,
they're not saying what happened. Dodgers will saying, but Dave

(18:49):
Roberts says, listen, he can pinch hit, he's available in emergency.
I feel really comfortable saying that he's day to day
so potentially could come back tomorrow. But really it feels
like another And this is the second oh hey, I
slipped at some point mishap that we've had earlier this
season with Freddy Freeman. Now you have Mookie Bets. So again,
no Mookie Bets tonight for this game. But Otani with
a leadoff home run one to one bottom of the

(19:10):
first ning.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
Please let it be Clinton Barmes meet dear meat story.
Please let it rival that where dude like, oh no, no,
I had problem. It's like no, no, no, literally, he'd
come back from hunting. It was it was carrying meat upstairs.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Give it something like that.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
Come on, give it some gravitas as opposed to I
rounded a corner too fast trying to get to the
bathroom in the middle of the night, and I stuff
my toe. Give it something better than that. It's like
I always tell you when when it's my time, and
I'd leave this mortal coil. Please don't let it just
be a boring heart attack. Give me something with some juice.

(19:49):
I don't want the boring heart attack. This is what
I want, all right.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
So a little bit more in this game before you
get to a big story out of the NFL.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
We know he's we had. We had the one big
thing for Theanes. We talked about a few minutes ago,
how scary they are. It doesn't feel like they're playing
their best baseball yet and they're injured, and here they
are with the top three record in the game for
the Dodgers, and this plays into what the biggest issue
they seem to have right now is, right. I've said
for a while, when sho Hao Tani comes back and

(20:18):
he's ready to pitch, he's got a close and the
fact that he is still throwing and doesn't have a
timeline when he's going to return to pitching, it's still
out there, like Dave Roberts says.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Yeah, you know, yeah, we still don't know when.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
But you know, he's building up like he was building
up his arm in the playoffs last year, and he
was not throwing before games just to hey, I'm getting
throwing in like you felt like he was throwing. If
I need to pitch in the playoffs, I'm gonna do it.
So I don't know what's happened, but this is well
over a year for Otani to not be able to
come back and pitch. So the first thing I would

(20:53):
say is this is that if he can't come back
to pitch now, why would you ever put him out
there as a starting pitcher? Again? Clearly his arm can't
handle the stress of pitching, playing whatever it is two
UCL injuries with that's knocked him out of pitching for
a long time. Why are you to have him come
back and start. I get that he wants to start.
He's been a starter, he was terrific, but you really

(21:14):
have to protect him for his career. He can still pitch,
and we've seen pitchers with arm trouble, with guys that
can't throw innings anymore. Make the great transition to closer
and be great closers, right. We saw what John Smoltz,
we saw with Dennis Seckersley. You can make Otani a closer,
and not only do you add a great because you
can worry about the at bats late in the game.

(21:35):
If you're bringing Otani in too close, you're not worried
about where you're batting in the bottom of the ninth inning, right,
which is the whole thing, because you would have to move.
If a guy goes from DH, you lose the DH position.
If he's coming in to close, you're not worried about it, right, Okay,
we're fine here, and if they tie the game, go ahead,
you'll figure it out. But you bring if becomes a closer.
Not only is that well suited, not only would he

(21:56):
bring a huge jolt of energy every time he comes
in to pitch. It's a role that can potentially he
can handle pitching sixty some odd innings a year, sixty
or sixty five innings a year. Yeah, that'll work. When
he's pitching once every couple of days. You're not gonna
pitch him back to back, but once every couple of days. Oh,
Donnie can do it. That works. And oh, by the way,

(22:17):
it also solves the biggest problem the Yankees have right now,
which is who do you trust back end of that bullpen?
Tanner Scott's blown twelve consecutive says or it's five, but
it seems like it's that like you don't know if
you're gonna be able to trust him, and he's still
an elite late inning reliever, and you know, maybe Tanner
Scott bounces back. I mean, look the Dodgers, but it
doesn't matter whoever the Dodgers bring in to pitch start

(22:39):
a reliever. There's always problems, there's injuries, there's ineffectiveness. So
not only does that happen, but you could potentially solve
one of the biggest problems you have, and that is
the back end of the bullpen for the Dodgers. Making
Otani a closer works on all levels.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
Yeah, there's just a question that I have.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
Now, what's the math in the risk reward of getting
him out there at this point? I heard a clip
with your nemesis Oral Herscheiser talking about some of that
work that he was doing in the bullpen in those
sessions going back to the playoffs, saying he was convinced
he was ready, if necessary, right the break glass in

(23:15):
case of emergency. Back then.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
It's all these months later, So where in the.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
Math have they decided that the likelihood probability of a
re injury would not only keep him from ever really
touching the mound again, but would force him out of
the lineup. Because last year, the amazing year that he
had the stolen bases and the monstrous home run after
home run, there was a medical marvel that he was

(23:44):
out there playing after that surgery. Right, you had no
idea how that it's gonna affect his swing. It's gonna
be a problem. Well, clearly it was not. But do
you run that risk do you add more variables to
that algorithm of what he brings in the table by
putting him back on the mound.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
To this point, they're playing cautiously now. They have the
ability to do so, given the strength of the organization,
the resources at their disposal at one third of the
way through the season, to not hit that panic button
at this point. But you know, Frostburg has been spending
all sorts of money trying to put Hex's on the

(24:24):
knicks and all that other stuff. He needs to go
and clean things up over in the wonderful world of
Dodger Health.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
Oh what's that, guys?

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Tell him? Joe? Uh magic?

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Yeah, Magic.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Johnson's at the game tonight, Frostburg. He probably won't be
tweeting from the game, but he is at the game.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
That would be disappointing if he doesn't have at least
somebody he's dictating.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Is he sitting with Chris Tops I don't believe he is.
They just showed him standing up clapping.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
I don't know who he's yeah, high five somebody. We're
not quite sure what anyway. That the back to the
the task at hand, though, it is the ability to
run out. He had a lot of arms on under
contract and on the comeback trail. Just what does it
look like when you get to the end of September
and into October. How many of those are ready to go?
Because I think we'd all love to see Clayton Kershaw

(25:21):
have a shot to not have Scott blow one of
his games in the postseason, right Hall of Fame career,
and let's you know, finish it off with a giant
effort and playing and pitching meaningful games in October.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
But are we guaranteed that go on down the line,
all the different injuries that plague them, who's going to
be healthy and who's closing things out? Can they go
and get Kenley Jansen back from the Angels if necessary?
Oh well, it's a quick trip back up the five.
So I mean it's just saying to get it back.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
Yeah, you can do that that's absolutely saying they're not.
I mean Mike Trout's coming back today, I mean activated
off the IL.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
I mean that was big news today.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Yeah, like I looked your air conditioning breaks.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
We got it.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
So I'm telling you Otani is a closer. It solves
all kinds of issues. Happens that way.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
Tell how to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
So someone who's been called the ten or Scott of
Fox Sports Radio sometimes five, seven, eight times in a row,
he's going to give you scores right up until the
end and then something happens.

Speaker 8 (26:31):
It's see to sayga, am I okay to have I
worked two days in a row?

Speaker 7 (26:36):
Am I okay to go tonight?

Speaker 5 (26:37):
Or I don't know you you weren't in yesterday, So
unless you were, you know, I'm writing.

Speaker 7 (26:42):
Yeah, you're right, all right.

Speaker 8 (26:44):
Yankees Dodgers tied one one top of the second in
LA and yes, Aaron Judge with a long solo homer
top of the first, nineteenth home run for his season show,
Hey Otani. A solo homer bottom of the first is
twenty first of the year. By the way, that means
we talked about this this past week batting himself in
shoey Otani has scored sixty runs already this season.

Speaker 7 (27:07):
No other major.

Speaker 8 (27:08):
League player in the modern era has reached that mark
before the month of June.

Speaker 7 (27:12):
Well Austin Wells has just hit one out.

Speaker 8 (27:14):
It's two to one Yankees over the Dodgers in the
top of the second with Tony Gonsli, La Max Fried
and La Native is the Yankee starter. Tonight seven and
zero with Adam.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Sandler is at the game wearing a k Nex jersey.
They just showed him in the stands wearing a new jersey,
Go New York, Go, New York. Goat.

Speaker 8 (27:34):
If they were out of the series, would he be
wearing a next jersey?

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Oh? Probably not heavy wet. You gotta get Steve. You
never know what tomorrow is going to bring. Got to
get that in today.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
That's right.

Speaker 7 (27:43):
The sun will come out tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (27:45):

Edmonton back to, You thank.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
You STEVE. O, now just really quick Because steve mentioned
the you, Know Mike trout comes back, tonight plays his
first GAME dhs for The. Angels they beat The guardians
for one while we're telling teams where they should be
playing their, stars because you, know we're pretty. Smart trout
came back tonight as a designated, hitter AND i get,
that you, know the injury that he had that happened

(30:52):
he was running the. Bases there's only so much you
can do Right there's only so much you can do
for a player who is injury, prone but you have
to give him the.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
Best chance of staying in the. Lineup and If.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
I'm managing The, ANGELS i Tell wash it's incredibly hard
to play first, base it's incredibly hard to play right.
FIELD i, say it's incredibly hard to win when your
best player can't stay in the lineup and you can't
do anything about running the bases or sliding or trying to.
Score but is it really worth having him in the?
Outfield is it really worth, Saying, okay now you're gonna be. Right,
now you're gonna play in right field because the stress

(31:27):
on you is.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
Less he needs to be a full TIME.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
DH i get that he was look In Mike trout's,
heyday best all around player in the. Game but now
when you're getting into your early to mid thirties and
you can't stay on the, field you got to keep
the game going.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
As long as.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Possible and it's a better chance that you're gonna Have
trout for one hundred and fifty games a year if
he's the designated hitter rather than if, okay let's put
him in the outfield because guess because this, GAME i
believe while he was running the bases and, look you
can't you can't get around. That but you still want
to limit the chances that he has to be out
of the lineup and putting it in the.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
Field it's not, it.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
MAN I i got to sit him down and have
a conversation and, say, hey as long As i'm managing this,
team it's, unfortunate but we need you and your days
in the outfield are. Over i'm, sorry but it's too.
Valuable your your hitting is too. Valuable your presence on
the team is too. Valuable you need to be a
full time designated. Hitter that's WHAT i Tell Mike trout
and hopefully that keeps him in the lineup because baseball
is better when he's.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
Playing, no but that's just. IT O hoppy ain't putting
asses in. SEATS i like the, guy but come on, Now.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Yeah he's a good.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
PLAYER i like, him but the fact, remains you, Know, Ward,
samuel those guys they're They're they're Not.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Marquee and as we, said The dodgers bullpen should be
getting up. Soon Trent grisham has just hovered for The.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
Yankees they can now lead The dodgers four to.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
One as they continue to bat in the top of
the second, Inning Mary hart is barely sat down.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
And it's already for One yankees.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Amazing uh, well he looks disturbed by what she's seen thus.
Far we'll keep you updated on this game throughout the,
night of, course the first must see baseball series of the.
Year but straight, ahead we got a big story out
of THE nfl and my big advice for a controversial
quarterback who needs to just keep doing what he's. Doing

Today be sure to catch live editions Of The Jason
Smith show With Mike harmon weekdays at ten Pm, eastern
seven Pm, Pacific Fox Sports.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Radio The Jason Smith show With my best Friend Mike
harmon four. Two yankee lead over The dodgers right, now
lots are run so far as The dodgers continue to
bat in the bottom of the second. Inning but you,
know it's weird because usually when someone is, controversial when
we talk about them on the radio and talk about

(34:44):
it's either, hey you gotta be doing things a different,
way Right usually that that's what you, Say, hey you
KNOW i do, it BUT i do things a little bit.
Differently but this is a little bit different type of.
Conversation Shad Door sanders and the quarterback derby battle going
on In cleveland right. Now it's a four person battle right,

(35:06):
now It's sanders Versus Dylan, gabriel and It's flaco And Kenny,
pickett and at some point The browns have to, Say,
okay we're gonna do some things. Here, yeah, YEAH i,
mean and every day there's something, new whether it is
how Good Shador sanders is playing In cleveland because he
is like all, reports, hey all the. SEVEN i, mean

(35:26):
this is the earliest quarterback derby story THAT i think
we've ever had in the history of, sports like, that
we're talking about this thing In OTAs And. May we're
talking about how you've done over the course of ten
throws and seven on. Seven it is the biggest cell job.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
Though it's, great but it's, great it gets, good but
it's pathetic at the same, time like.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
This is what we've.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Gotten, yeah, okay but.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
It is The browns and it Is Shador, sanders who
is very controversial and very. Popular yet this week is
a is a typical example of a week For Shador
sanders where it's been great stuff on the field and
then he's had the field questions about, dude did you
take your entire signing bonus and go buy a Rolls
royce did you really Go Vinnie chase that did you

(36:10):
take all the money you made from your movie and
go buy A Rolls. ROYCE i, mean Then Vini chase
had to return, it but, like did you really do?
That and then he has to come out and SAY
i didn't do.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
It it's not.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
This the entire time since he's been drafted by The
browns has been dotted with here's good stuff for him
on the, field and here he is off the, field
still fighting against headlines that made him a fifth round
pick because there's continued concerns about his, motivation, maturity the
family influence Of Dion. Sanders BUT i gotta be, HONEST

(36:43):
i love What i've seen from him so far because
when these stories have come, out he has brushed them
off and gone to practice the next.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Day and that's the best.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Thing IF i had pr advice For Shador sanders right,
NOW i would, say, dude keep doing what you're. DOING
i know you have made, mistakes and you tend to make.
MISTAKES i get that you're, young and you know obviously
you have to mature and and you know you can't
walk into THE nfl Thinking I'm I'M i have everything
now because you were humbled a little, Bit but just
keep doing what you're.

Speaker 4 (37:10):
Doing be about.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
Football don't give anybody any chance to put headlines out
there all about what's going on off the, field something
That dion, said something that you. Did if he can
be about, football he will win the starting job In.
Cleveland it's absolutely hundred. Percent he is off to a terrific,
start Right he's been the best quarterback they've looked at so.

(37:31):
Far and by the time we get to the end
of the, summer the questions really going to be Is
sander's gonna start or Will Joe flacco start for a few?

Speaker 4 (37:39):
Weeks, right that's where.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
It's eventually it's Getting Dylan gabriel is not, Starting Kenny
pickett is not. Starting in, Fact i'm sure one of
them during the summer will be dealt to another, team,
right whether It's, picket whether it. Depending If gabriel comes
through and he looks pretty, good they'll deal. Picket teams
will be looking for some kind of quarterbacked up and
they have to make that room smaller at some, Point
so that's going to. Happen but right, now this is

(38:01):
how it's going to. Go as long as he is about,
football just continue to be about the best THING i
can tell, you because it wasn't football that had you
dropped to the fifth. Round it's all the other knuckleheaded
stuff that went along with. It it's All Deon sanders
saying there's certain teams THAT i don't want you to go.
To this is what's going on right this is what
kept you from being a first round pick or early

(38:22):
second round. Pick so continue to be about. Football he
is doing a terrific job right. Now and my, ADVICE
i would you would just keep doing what you're. Doing
that's Your Doris. Sanders. YEAH i mean he also needs
to look in the rear view.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
MIRROR i mean not that you want to live in the,
past but recognize where things were said in press conferences
and things on the field before and after games that
lent to a little bit of a credibility and trust
issue with teams as. Well so it wasn't all full
off off the. Field and there's still gonna be stories

(38:56):
that come up like this whole car. Thing what's you
gotta give everybody is routing. Numbers here's my bank, Accounts
that's ALL i. Got this is where when money goes,
in money goes. Out, no five hundred thousand dollars. Transactions
like there's stuff like that he's not gonna be able
to control because as we, saw we talked about THE wnba,
story going back to The Reese clark. Thing, oh someone
said on social media they heard something fall and offensive

(39:20):
chase their tails for a, week came, back, went same
thing happens, Here same thing happens here For Shador.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Sanders, right someone.

Speaker 5 (39:27):
Just, decides you, KNOW i THINK i saw him yelling
at a waiter or a waitress about you, know the
refill of his, coke and it becomes a. Thing oh
look at. Him he can't even treat people at a restaurant.
Properly and it may never have. Happened might have been.

Speaker 1 (39:42):
A completely different guy that had nothing to do with
the Surname.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
Sanders those stories are gonna, happen and, hopefully you, know
they dissipate. Someone but like, this this car thing was just, Laughable, like,
YEAH i didn't buy a, car, okay, Answer.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
But it became a.

Speaker 5 (39:59):
Thing look what he's. Doing look at the decision making.
Whatever Joe flacco may slink back into. Retirement Kenny, Pickett,
Well pittsburgh's also a place where quarterbacks go to Die
Hi Caleb williams and you're. Dead and then you, know
For Dylan, gabriel you, know he's a guy that you
know fits the suit in terms of trying.

Speaker 4 (40:21):
To make make a spot.

Speaker 5 (40:22):
Here and for Shud Or, sanders it was like he
fell into their laps and that's where he was seemingly destined.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
To be from the.

Speaker 5 (40:30):
Outset it's just gonna take a little bit, longer and
they're gonna pay him less money to do. It so,
yeah keep your head, down keep. Working there's a pretty
good roster there to potentially go win some games with telling.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
Me, man just just keep doing what you're. Doing that's
all you have to. Do if you can keep doing
that and keep being about, football it will be outstanding
and you Will, again he'll either be starting when the season,
begins or more than Likely flacco will play three or
four weeks So sanders can get used TO nfl, life
and then.

Speaker 4 (40:57):
He'll be starting In.

Speaker 5 (40:58):
October, now more, time more, Touchdowns sanders or whoever quarterbacks
The steelers no justin fields with The jets forty touchdowns
Justin coming up, next two big stories out of THE
nba as we get set for The Eastern Conference, Finals game,
