already creeping up to the over. If you like offense,
you like tonight's game, And just to think about how
wild of a start this is. Right, We talked about
this game so much over the course of the past week,
broke it down from so many different angles. The champion

Eagles coming in. Is it gonna be another year where
they could go back to back or are they one
of those teams that could go back to back? What
about Saquon Barkley's usage the cow Boys in the Micah
Parsons trade. What is this going to mean for them?
They're not gonna be able to stop the run? Can
they run the football?

All of these things, all of these things we talked about, right,
all that how we're predicting this game, how it's going
to go. The Cowboys are gonna get killed, and it
all goes out the window before the first play from
scrimmage because Jalen Carter, who's one of the top four
or five defensive tackles in all of the NFL was
second team All Pro last year, gets thrown out of

the game because he spits on Dak Prescott before the

him to be arrested after. I think there's gonna be
a big push for that. Oh you know, we can't
have this happening. We got to go and arrest him
and put him and make sure he knows he can't
do that anymore because we're it should be we should
be winning twenty one nothing over Dallas. Instead he's twenty
one twenty. It's not good. It's not good.

So embarrassing, such a nonsensical thing.

Like I get it, you've got history and beef like
he hadn't been in the league that long to really
develop that that much hatred towards an Indias Cowboys. But sure, yeah,
but what could Dak have possibly said to him, if anything,
to provoke that, Like, that's what they gotta understand.

If this is the fourth quarter and you've narrowly missed
him and he's drawn at you.

I mean you've been spitting at him the whole game
and you've been missing him. No, no, no, I mean well,
I mean you're chasing him around.

This I mean, really I can't get certain things, you know.
This is what I love about the NFL. I always
think about Jay Glazer, who's gonna join us after the
game tonight. His big, big thought about the NFL is
always the greatest reality show in the history of the
world just continues to roll on. There's no better reality
show that's ever been invented than the NFL and everything
that goes along with the play on the field, the
drama off of it, how it never stops. It's the

greatest reality show that we've ever seen. And he's absolutely right,
because all of a sudden, you get hit with a
big left turn out of the gate, and everything we
thought about this game and out the window out everything
is done.

Even before this play. Go back to the opening kickoff.

They lost their full back probably for the year, right
and one of the few teams that really does employ
it obviously a big aid to what Hurts and Barkley do.
And right off the jump, you've got a delay in
the game because you've got an injury time out, and
then before you get the first snap, then you get
the spinning mode, Like what the hell are we doing this?

This is a full donny Brook, Like this is a
w WE event where like, all right, we're never actually
gonna get to the match, like no, no, no, just
guys yelling at each other and they beat the hell
out of each other's Like do we ever actually get a.

That's part of the script that we're never gonna actually
get and it's gonna be all outside of the ring
and then we're moving on to the next match.

It's just something that when I think about it, and
spitting at someone and someone spinning at someone and getting
it on them and whatever it is, it just so
grosses me out. I'm like, now I got to talk

the head, what like, But to spit on him. So
it's disrespectful and it's soft at the same time, Like,
you think you're a hard guy, could you spit on somebody.

That that's someone who is completely out of his mind
taking the field. And and yes, the NFL you're about
that kind of emotion. You're motor running at a certain
at a certain time. But I mean, really, I don't know.
It's gonna be hard for even the hardest of hot
take to take the other side of and go, Well,
if Dak Prescott said something to him, of course you're

gonna spend I mean, there'll be somebody will do that.
I can't take the other side. But really, this is
this is I mean, it's absolutely indefensible.

Yeah, I mean he goes, you know up, you know,
does one of those little shots, you know, karate move
where the hand comes up into the face mask or something.
All right, maybe he said something. I understand that physical altercation.
I don't understand spinning. I don't don't.

Here's the thing, I don't think Dak and looking at
it trying to see what Dak said, it's hard to see.
But I don't think Dak Prescott's the kind of guy
that's gonna throw something out there and say something that
would force that kind of reaction unless you weren't planning
on doing it, or you were so hyped up and
did it and you were outside your mind, like I
bet you. Jalen Carter will ask about it after the game.
He'll say, I don't really remember it. I don't remember.
I don't know why I backed out. I was, But

I mean, think about Dak Prescott. We got that video
of him walking in. He was singing, time keep some slipping.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
Sure sure going all Steve Millerman, I'm pretty good.

I mean it's I would have liked if he was
talking about the Space Cowboy something that would have been
kind of funny. But to get this level of reaction,
like there's no excusing it. And this is one where
it's like you immediately want the picture and picture of
Sirianni or Big Dom.

You saw Big Dom have to escort him away, like
Big Dom had to take him off to the Big.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Dom also got warned that he was gonna get thrown
out because there was a play where Hertz got over
to the sideline and got a little bit of incidental
contact in the final two minutes of the first half,
and Big Dom went to check on him. There was
really nothing, but he bumped into a guy standing on
the sideline, which again there's like way too many damn
people on the sideline. How many passes do you get anymore?

But Big Dom had to be escorted back into the
coaching box.

Now, let's hear this from the eagle side of it. Okay,
we heard it from the TV side of it. Now,
that was Mike Erico with the call on NBC. Let's
hear it from the eagle side and realizing that, oh
wait a minute, we're going to be without our best
player on defense for the rest of the game.

Stem couldn't start worse. Unsportsmanlike conduct or the Eagles. Unsportsmanlike
conduct on the Eagles in particular on Jaleb Harder, and
even worse, Harder, one of the Eagles post packful players,
because he checked it from the game on the very

flex position, maybe possibly expecting the run stuffing of what
the Eagles were able to do a year ago. Tada surprise,

here we go. I had had a couple of big drives,
a couple of touchdown plunges from short range, but just monumental.
And now you have the not only for this game
Philadelphia now after a long field goal twenty four to
twenty mid third quarter, but is Carter gonna get suspended
for multiple games?

Right? Because this is this is before the first snap?
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Yeah, yeah. I mean they're on the field.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
They're on the field, so it's on the field, so
it's dead ball on the field. But I really wanted
Meryl rees to because he's I think this is his
forty eighth or forties also fifty years right doing Philly games.
I wanted to hear Mourys say, in forty nine years,
I've never seen anything like this. Not one time have
I seen something like this. This is an absolute disaster.

Yeah, I mean, I really, I mean, this is the
story of the game. It is again, it turned a
game that should have been an Eagles route into something
that became an entirely different animal. Because the Cowboys suddenly
start the game, great field position, all kinds of ability
to be able to run the football a little bit
better than we thought they were going. You're not running
(14:09):
it great, but they're running it okay, And Javonta Williams
has a couple of touchdowns, but Dak has been able
to get the ball down the field through the air. Yes,
the Eagles have held a couple of times in the
red zone, which has been a pretty big deal. But
by and large, Dallas is doing way more offensively than
I thought they were gonna wind up doing in this game.
And when that something like that happens on the first
before the first play, that changes everything. I mean, the
(14:32):
Eagles seem to have gotten themselves in a little bit.
They took a little while bit of a roller coaster,
but defensively it looks like maybe they're they're sharpening up
a little bit over the past few drives. But still
this is a game that I mean, really, the Cowboys,
they shouldn't even been on the same field as them.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Yeah, he had a couple of big spots where Ceedee
Lamb found himself wide open. Four catches eighty six yards
in the first half, a couple of pass interfere it's
called a lot of hand fighting in the secondary that
got a little bit egregious over time at Jackson was
well this generation's toast Patterson, and then he found himself
in the tent and a bunch of Eagles fans good well,

it's like wow, okay, what a hateful bunch.

But leading receiver for the Eagles, right now you say,
guess it's not aj Brown, who is probably reading on
the sideline right now.

That's the other subplots of this right because no targets
in the first half or through the first half of
the third quarter. No, it's Johan Dodson. Yeah, like it's

five yards. He made a block out of play earlier,
and it's clear they decided to reward him.

Yeah, I remember when he was going to be great,
Like for you remember that he was going to be

off on that fifty yard run. A couple of minutes ago,
you burst out, yelled out in the studio. Is that

Miles Sanders. I can't believe. I don't even think Miles
Sanders family is that excited about that run from him.

I was just flabbergasted. Okay, all right, you seemed a
little excited about that.

Okay, So now on that he was on the depth
chart at all, but the fact that he broke off
such a huge run.

I mean all the way through and again, fifty yard
run from Miles Sanders, who is now the leading rusher
for the Cowboys with four carries. You know, a fifty
yard carry's gonna do that for you. But now I
need to ask you another question, Bursch, because okay, so
other right now, because I missed it because my computer
is out and the TVs are often here. Who was
it that just fumbled for the Cowboys in the red
zone and the Eagles recovered? Oh it was Miles Sanders, Okay,

Miles Sanders. Yeah, yeah, they gave the ball to Miles
Sanders up the middle of trid to reward them.

Then yeah, yeah, hey.

Give it to them again. Oh, don't give it toom
any more, Scot. Look the Cowboys were on the cusps
with potentially taking the lead in this game. It's a
twenty four to twenty lead late in the third quarter,
and it looked like the Eagles had seize momentum, but
the big run by Sanders gets them inside there in
the red zone, and then Sanders just costs it up
a difficult run, he gets pawed at, they pull the
(19:32):
ball out. So now the Eagles have it first and
ten from their own seventeen with a four point lead
with four and a half to go in the third quarter.

That right now the big well, okay.

Biggest play of the game, not the biggest moment of
the game, because spitting on someone is not a play.

What do you have? Humble kind of kicked me in

I love defense. My favorite players are the fat guys
in the middle who spin on other players. And he
screwed me the great player.

But I mean, you know, go back to Casey Hampton,
go back to Vince Wilfork before he was wearing overalls.
All of those things. We had all sorts of like heroes.
We even Warren sat back in the day, all those
guys that were in the guts, you know, Steve Mongo, McMichael,
who was eventually a member of the Four Horsemen. All
of that those are my guys. So I want to play.

Well again, that's a pretty nice thing you said you
want to play. Because there is now a weather delay.
At the four forty four mark of the third quarter,
there is extreme lightning in the Greater Philadelphia area. The
teams are headed to the locker room, so there's going
to be a delay of at least I don't know,
fifteen to twenty. These things go for a while until

lightning leaves the area.

Come back for break, right. We had the big celebration
by the Eagles defense in the ends. I was like,
let's go to a commercial break and they come back
and we see the Doppler radars like, oh no, and
we don't have the sound. So you and I are

So again, a weather delay with the Eagles leading the
Cowboys twenty four to twenty in the third quarter, four
forty four left to go in the third. When we
do resume, the Eagles will have the football following the
Miles Sanders fumble, and look again, the biggest play of
the game so far, because this is where the Cowboys
looked like they might be on the ropes a bit.

The Eagles defense had shut them down the last couple
of times, forced them to kick field goals, finally forced
them to not get to end to drive without a score.
And the way the Eagles offense was going, hey, one
more score might have been too much for Dallas to overcome.
But you get the fifty yard run from Miles Sanders,
which sets you up in great position. But wow, that
turnover is just an absolute killer right now. Again, still

a long way to go, but that could have been
the Cowboys staying in. It could have been them taking
the lead. But that's clearly the biggest play of the
game so far, and I kind of love the celebration
they all did. They did the toush push the Eagles
defenders after which which again I know, you can't use
the ball as a prop, and they actually snapped the
ball and you know, to do the toush push run
over the goal line. So okay, And I'm glad they

didn't throw a flag on that because they threw some
flags earlier tonight. I'm like, come on, and I know
it's week one and you want to send a message,
but come on, man, let the guys play.

injury she has suffered the growing the ankle injury has

just been too much. And we had heard from Stephanie White,
Fever head coach a day ago saying they were using
this west coast trip to see if Caitlin was going
to be able to come back and play this year.
This is going to be the time to realize. Okay,
a couple of games ready for the playoffs, then we start,
can Caitlyn Clark play? She was playing five on zero,
but she was never cleared for contact. They decided the
best thing now is to shut it down, so she's

not gonna play.

show up for me for the fever brought me so

one on the radio, So get after a doctor Smith.
Three muscle injuries for Caitlin Clark this year part of
what ended her year. We all know that she had

a new more intense weightlifting weight training off season because
you saw noticeably she was bigger. She needed to be
able to get bigger and be able to deal with
the pounding she was going to get right, you see. Okay,
so you got Usually that happens. Star players come into
a league and you see it in the first year
and the next year they have a different physique because
they're they're getting bigger. But you have to wonder and
(35:23):
look and I don't know, but I'm just going to say,
three muscle injuries and it's boy, what what kind of work?
Did she push herself too much? Was it too was
it too much there? Because your muscles are only going
to respond so much. And you know what role did
that have in in her who had never been hurt
at all, like, never missed any game. She's been incredibly
healthy up until this point. She took a lot of
time off, not like she played a ton of basketball,
(35:45):
but her workouts were there and this was the big change,
and here she is hurt. So so you wonder is
did that big weight training program what she did in
the off season, did that contribute to this.

Put on some weight?

Change your training program and how you're able to cut
and to respond. I mean, we talk about with growth spurts, right,
and the changes, and we we talk.

Some of the athletes says, we get north of that six'
nine six ten of what happens to ankles and knees
and everything. Else that and even as we watch in
our local high school play and you get some of
those updates on injuries and and some of the things

here putting on the extra weight and the different training
certainly took its. Toll and then trying to get back
on the, court, right you start compounding when you're trying
to get back on too, soon you start stressing and
putting weight and cause other.

by and large, Dallas is doing way more offensively than
I thought they were gonna wind up doing in this game.
And when that something like that happens on the first
before the first play, that changes everything. I mean, the

Eagles seem to have gotten themselves in a little bit.
They took a little while bit of a roller coaster,
but defensively it looks like maybe they're they're sharpening up
a little bit over the past few drives. But still
this is a game that I mean, really, the Cowboys,

So it's kind of fun right now seeing Maria Taylor
and Jason Garrett and Chris Stiff they're all like in
the in the tunnel doing the you know, trying to
fill time and talking about the weather delay and what's
going on.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
And I love that.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
The topic is how does the weather delay impact both teams?
Will it affect one team more than the others are
going to affect another? To out, well, how will the
weather do this? Well, what I come back in the
field is wet. Who is that going to affect the most?
Speaker 3 (28:50):
In this game. It's not really raining hard right now,
it's spitting. No, it's that's ever.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
Everybody's got to leave the field. If that's the case,
that's for sure, I tell you what.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Man.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
By the way, the other thing they should be asking
is like, what got you that bold haircut, old strategy.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
So again, a weather delay with the Eagles leading the
Cowboys twenty four to twenty in the third quarter, four
forty four left to go in the third. When we
do resume, the Eagles will have the football following the
Miles Sanders fumble, and look again, the biggest play of
the game so far, because this is where the Cowboys
looked like they might be on the ropes a bit.
(29:26):
The Eagles defense had shut them down the last couple
of times, forced them to kick field goals, finally forced
them to not get to end to drive without a score.
And the way the Eagles offense was going, hey, one
more score might have been too much for Dallas to overcome.
But you get the fifty yard run from Miles Sanders,
which sets you up in great position. But wow, that
turnover is just an absolute killer right now. Again, still
(29:49):
a long way to go, but that could have been
the Cowboys staying in. It could have been them taking
the lead. But that's clearly the biggest play of the
game so far, and I kind of love the celebration
they all did. They did the toush push the Eagles
defenders after which which again I know, you can't use
the ball as a prop, and they actually snapped the
ball and you know, to do the toush push run
over the goal line. So okay, And I'm glad they
(30:12):
didn't throw a flag on that because they threw some
flags earlier tonight. I'm like, come on, and I know
it's week one and you want to send a message,
but come on, man, let the guys play.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
No. But that's just it, right. If we're gonna do this,
let's be consistent. So the ball is a prop, there's
there's a penalty, but I get you gotta give credit
and Monty brought it up. Dak Prescott with that tackle
on the play, keeps that from being a you know,
eighty five yard run back.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Yeah, no, great, great, great play by Beck And if
you have individual that's why we gave him all that money.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
Now he's gonna play good to go both ways like
the Hunter kid, because I saw the wee can get headlines.
So Dak's gonna quarterback and play middle linebacker. So that's
gonna be fun. Uh, don't worry. Gonna tape up his
hands when he goes out there play. No, those those
myts that the players put on a baseball and the
slide into bases, so don't jam their hands. He's gonna
wear those, gonna make him tough to wrap up. But
we're gonna make sure he goes in with his shoulder

and leading with that right shoulder. So he goes in
John trying to hit those running backs that are bigger
than you and those linemen coming out to hit you
coming off there. But boy, we'll get a lot of
attention if we have that going both ways.

After the Miles Sanders fumble gave the ball back to
the Eagles, Jerry Jones needed to find a way to
slow the game down a bit, so lightning from his fingers.
Lightning delay in Philadelphia. Will keep you posted when the
game resumes again. Eagles up by four. They just got
the ball back after the Sanders fumble. Four to forty
four to go in the third quarter. Now, not that
(32:27):
this was unexpected, but I think we were all holding
out hope that potentially this was going to go a
different way. But it's official. Caitlyn Clark will not play
again in the WNBA season. She put out a message
on social media today saying, I wish I had better news,
but I'm not going to play again this year. The
injury she has suffered the growing the ankle injury has
(32:47):
just been too much. And we had heard from Stephanie White,
Fever head coach a day ago saying they were using
this west coast trip to see if Caitlin was going
to be able to come back and play this year.
This is going to be the time to realize. Okay,
a couple of games ready for the playoffs, then we start,
can Caitlyn Clark play? She was playing five on zero,
but she was never cleared for contact. They decided the
best thing now is to shut it down, so she's
(33:09):
not gonna play.
Speaker 5 (33:09):
She is done.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
So the next time I'm really gonna hear a lot
from Kaitlin. I'm sorry the off the court dramas there.
So next time, Caitlyn Clark, you talk about almost a
year from now getting back in it with the WNBA.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
What's also fun is the timing of this statement and
the content therein given what we talked about a night ago.
When we go back to Angel Reesid, she announced some
more business stuff. You got the shoe you got up
buying in for all these different conglomerates and with other
WNBA stars, And that's great, But Caitlin Clark, A lot
(33:42):
of this quote been incredibly frustrating. Even the bad, there's
a lot of good. The way the fans continued to
show up for me for the fever brought me so
much joy and important perspective. Talking about the team having
her back and everybody like it was throwing flowers to
everybody about the process and how supportive nurturing and what
(34:04):
a team environment that they've got there with the fever.
In Stark contrast to twenty four hours ago, where it
was we don't have anybody any good on this. We
should have the two of us, me and Cardoso and
the rest of them can go to hell.

I'm encapsulating it and you know, kind of putting my
own flare to it. But I just think the timing
is interesting, and the tone and tenor of this message
to just be the dichotomy, the one and eighty degree
turn from what we had in that Chicago newspaper piece
(34:38):
on Angel Reese.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Look, it's it's really weird that all of a sudden
we haven't had any we get back to back news
on Angel. Reason Caitlin Clark like that. But you know,
the thing that hits me about this and again I'll
say this. I'll start this by not a doctor, right,
like the big line, not a doctor, but you play
one on the radio, So get after a doctor Smith.
Three muscle injuries for Caitlin Clark this year part of
what ended her year. We all know that she had
(35:02):
a new more intense weightlifting weight training off season because
you saw noticeably she was bigger. She needed to be
able to get bigger and be able to deal with
the pounding she was going to get right, you see. Okay,
so you got Usually that happens. Star players come into
a league and you see it in the first year
and the next year they have a different physique because
they're they're getting bigger. But you have to wonder and
(35:23):
look and I don't know, but I'm just going to say,
three muscle injuries and it's boy, what what kind of work?
Did she push herself too much? Was it too was
it too much there? Because your muscles are only going
to respond so much. And you know what role did
that have in in her who had never been hurt
at all, like, never missed any game. She's been incredibly
healthy up until this point. She took a lot of
time off, not like she played a ton of basketball,
(35:45):
but her workouts were there and this was the big change,
and here she is hurt. So so you wonder is
did that big weight training program what she did in
the off season, did that contribute to this.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Put on some weight?
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Change your training program and how you're able to cut
and to respond. I mean, we talk about with growth spurts, right,
and the changes, and we we talk.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
About from the NBA side of it.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Some of the athletes says, we get north of that six'
nine six ten of what happens to ankles and knees
and everything. Else that and even as we watch in
our local high school play and you get some of
those updates on injuries and and some of the things
that in growth, spurts you have. Issues For Caitlin clarke,
(36:30):
here putting on the extra weight and the different training
certainly took its. Toll and then trying to get back
on the, court, right you start compounding when you're trying
to get back on too, soon you start stressing and
putting weight and cause other.
