(00:51):
tire buying should be. Well, here we are, Game four
of the World Series. Things getting a little tense now
at Chavez Ravina show hal time. He has just come
out of the game, given up a single and a
double off the wall to start the seventh inning, So
the Dodgers bullpen getting involved the game. The Blue Jays
lead it right now two to one, top of the seventh,

(01:12):
and I gotta say, I think all of us. I
think I speak for every single baseball fan, every one
of us, every single one of us who loves baseball.
I think we're okay with the nice, boring two to
one game we've had so far tonight? How dare you
I think we're okay with it?

Speaker 3 (01:26):
No, last night was fantastic comedy of errors. Yes, the
great defensive plays yea. The back and forth, yeah, the
one hundred bullpen trips and substitutions and second guessing, Hey,
should he have pulled this guy off? Yeah, because he
was anticipating he needs his catcher for all eighteen innings?
What the hell are we doing all of that? And

(01:48):
then Freddie Freeman walks it off.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I mean, come on, everybody, everybody needs a break, even
the biggest baseball fans of the world, Like, Okay, I'm
okay with this being a nice, boring to one game
so far. What's been that? Like, we do have one
big thing to tell you about this game? Like, okay,
we're not you know, it's okay. You know Otani actually
has gotten out tonight a couple of times.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
About that.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I don't know how much the home played umpire likes show. Hey,
Otani batting, couple of questionable calls for him.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Guys, that guy's had a really rough night though, like
high low inside, like there's been no consistency to it
on either side. So Otani keeps looking back at him, going,
I get that one the other half of the inning right.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Well, like I would have been okay if Rob Bamford said, listen,
we are going to give everybody a day off so
we can digest this unbelievable World Series game again. We
talked about the the prison of the moment take last night.
Best World Series game since Game six of the eighty
six series with the Mets in the Red Sox, like
that great a game. I think we okay, I think
everybody's okay. It's nice boy. It's two to one. Otani

(02:47):
pitched fine, Bieber's pitching fine. There's no big errors, there's
no big question everything. Okay. We need a game like this.
It's why you can't have just seven big, fast paced
songs on an album because they would get lost. I
need a break. You gotta give me a ballot, You
gotta get a ball got to give me all you know.
You give me Welcome to the jungle, and then you
kick it up with It's so easy and night trained

(03:09):
out to it. Then you gottah, you gotta give me
Paradise City. Then you gotta give me a little bit
of a sweet child of mine. Then you gotta go
back up right, you got, you got, you give me something.
It's the John Cusack situation from High Fidelity. Hey, can
you start out incredible attent, then you kick it up
a notch with a second song. People can't believe it's
even better than first. But then you dial it back
down and you get something there. It's a little bit slower. Well,
that's what you welcome people into the show. It's like

(03:32):
last night we saw the fur, we saw Welcome to
the Jungle, and it's so easy outkat. Now let's let's
bring it down a little bit. Now, let's bring let's
bring it down, let's get.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
A bout it.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
And I started screaming at tech tech people because my uh,
I couldn't get the feed in and and I couldn't
hear everything. Oh wait, that was excellent Argentina last week.
But all that's saying, I mean they had to physically
remove us from the studio last night for Ben Maller.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, I mean it was we had the game with
no desire to leave all four hours. The game started
two hours before we got on the air. We talked
about that game so many different angles for basically for
the entire show, for all four hours. And we got
off and I was able to drive home, get home,
sit down on my couch, get a drink, sit down,
and still got to see the entire inning before Freddie

(04:15):
Freeman at the walk off home run. That's pretty That's
what last night was. People were probably upset going to
the I got tickets with a Laker game last night.
Oh my goodness, I'm gonna miss this game. But no,
they were able to go to the game, leave, go
get a drink after leisurely drive home and catch the
last three innings.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Well, they still saw the second game.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
And you missed no runs, and you missed no runs.
There were no regular one run in the last like
four and a half hours no watching that game.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Now, it was absolute chaos, and you know, we try
to compartmentalize it. My daughter was asking me this morning,
she goes, the hell happened with that game?

Speaker 5 (04:49):
Right?

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Something popped up at her feet which she woke up
this morning and she goes, all right, explain this to me.
I'm like, all right, let me walk you through it,
and started going through the twists and turns the defense
and plays the errors early on and Edmund he giveth,
he taketh the way tay oscar the legend that is
all of that, and she's just like to stare at me,
go you have this haul. No, we did this for
four hours. Yeah, and then it kept going into the night.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
What do you got, Frostburg? How you doing so? How
many Freddy's are going to be born nine months from
late last night? How many Freddy's in show?

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Hises, well, I mean you already had Freddie's from last
year with the grand.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
This is square.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I think it's like Freddie met Freddy on that home run.
Every kid is going to be named Freddie. And at
ten years in LA when you when you have kids
go to school for the first time, or five years,
six years from now to show has everybody's named Freddie.
This is amazing. It's a Freddie, Freddie Johnson, right, Freddie Smith,
Freddie Frostburg, Freddie Harmon. You know, here's what you're gonna
be Freddie. H You're gonna be Freddie j your Freddie s,

(05:48):
your friend, Like, that's kind of what has to happen.
That's what you're gonna say at the end of the day.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Freddie's the man.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah, I mean, my goodness, I mean fred Freddie Freeman. Honestly,
if you had any question, when he comes up for
Hall of Fame induction, people are gonna, look, what a
great career. Walk off home run Game one of the
World Series, walk off home run Game three of the
World Series. No one's ever done that. Like, that's his
ticket to the Hall of Fame. That's his ticket. It's
like Eli, people question, is Eli Manning gonna make the

(06:14):
Hall of Fame? Yeah, Eli Manning, great career, very very
similar with Freddie Freeman. Eli Manning. Boy, people forget how
good Eli Manning was. You know, everybody knows, Hey, Freddy
Freeman's really good. Maybe you don't understand just how good
he is, but Eli Manning's Hall of Fame. I beat
the Patriots twice in the Super Bowl with game winning
drives both times. I beat Tom Brady. I ruined it
into a perfect season. Freddy Freeman was gonna say, yeah,

(06:36):
you see my walkoffs two years of road, you see that? Yeah, great,
that was That's Freddy Freeman's Hall of Fame candidates.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Yeah, one of the things he'll have to go.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
And whoever speaks for him will argue about the idea
that he was robbed of several gold gloves along the way.
But that's a story for another time. What was interesting
last night, though, were his at bats where he kept
hitting the ball on the button to center field. Yeah, deeper, deeper,
gone bad after it.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
I just have to eat a little bit more, a
little bit more, and it's over the fence. Now what
does that mean for tonight? Unfortunately they had to come
back and play again today. I could have taken three
more days until Game four. But here's where we sit
right now. Top of the seventh Anthony Banda has come
in for the Dodgers with runners at second and third.
He has been greeted by a single to left field.

(07:22):
It is now a three to one Toronto Blue Jay lead.
They have runners at the corners. I kf is up
with nobody out, still batting in the top of the
seventh inning. And really it's been it's been a very
boring game, which it which has been Okay, Now, the
one big takeaway from this game so far, and and
and this is this is a thing.

Speaker 6 (07:41):
Man.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Mookie Bets has been brutal right. It was been a
bad year for him. He's got four hits since the
NLCS began. He is popping everything up right, everything's dropping
his shoulder popping. He has absolutely lost the plate so
much so we swing at the first pitch.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Yesterday.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
He is in the cage aton trying to find like
some semblance of consistency before it's a.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
He is absolutely lost. And the Dodgers, you go into
Game four, you need to drop him down in the
batting order. You cannot. You cannot continue to bat him
second because it's with sho Hey getting on base almost
every time, I mean a couple of times, a couple
of outs to night Perodio eleven eleven consecutive times on base,

(08:26):
like Mookie Betts is coming up and it's an out.
I mean, I get it. And it's a short term thing.
This is not suddenly we're turning the page on Mookie Betts.
This is Mookie Betts is killing you right now. In
that two hole. You need whether it's moving Tommy edmundup,
who's sitting the ball, kek Hernandez moving up. We want
to keep the right hand but Mooki Betts hitting second
and and and the the blue Jays are taking the
trade off of if we put Otani on, we feel

(08:49):
great about Mookie Betts, so we'll take that trade off
of we walk Otani, who may not be the stolen
base threat that he was a year ago, because we
saw last night in extra innings had to come out
and look and looked like his back maybe flared up
a little. They said, so he's not quite that stolen
base threat. So the Blue Jay is saying, okay, so
first two batters Otani on bass and Mookie Bets but

(09:10):
not even advancing the runner Mookie Bets bot. Yeah, we'll
take that trade. And that's really what it's been so far.
So you're talking about the Dodgers, that's a big move.
You're talking about your you know, your your second best
player all around. And look, Mookie Betts has been a
phenomenal stud for his career and he's going to continue
to be one. But this lost year just has gotten
worse for him in the playoffs, and and you continue

(09:31):
to bat him second. I get it's hard. I get
it's difficult because he's such a star player, but you're
trying to win you know, two more games, right, You're
trying to win two more games, and that's it. And
Mookie Bets batting second is just not getting it done.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Since he the beginning of that Milwaukee series, including tonight,
he's four for his last thirty three with one extra
base hit and what one RBI, So you're you're not
getting anything.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
And he's batting with Otani on bass all the time,
well except when Otani has home runs, but he's back
except for the time all the time.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Yeah, a lot of opportunities certainly have been left to
the wayside. And and it's it's a sad state of affairs,
right that you can have a guy who's decorated his
bets whatever's gone on, going back to the illness in
Japan uh to start the season and all the way
through uh there were a couple of weeks where it
looked like you're starting to you know, find his his

(10:24):
rhythm a bit uh and and certainly still a candidate.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
For a Gold Glove at shortstop.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
So it's the all right, yin and yang of when
we're talking about the defense for the Dodgers as a whole,
that you still have a stalwart there, but It's been
a difficult proposition with Otani with as many walks as
he draws, and certainly last night was the exaggerated form
of that and the five intentionals.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
But uh, just one of those things.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Very angsty Dodger faithful when Mooki's at the plate right now,
So now out top of the seventh inning, they get
a line out to Max Muncy who nearly doubles Andres
Jimenez off of first base.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
The call on the field was a double play. However,
on review him Andez God got his hand in. They
reviewed it. He is safe. So now they still have
that insurance run at third with just one out. Visit
to the mound right now. Toronto leads the Dodgers again
three to one. Now one out runners in first and third.
Now just off the beaten path for a second here right.

Speaker 5 (11:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I was thinking about this, like if they ever decided
to make a movie of Andre's Jimenez's life, right because
he was traded for Lindor, like he ever does something
with Michael Mando from Better Call, Saul will play Andres
Simenez is that Mike. Uh, he was not cho Michael
Mando is not cho in in in Uh Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Yeah, yeah, so he was. He was absolutely, absolutely would play.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Andres Jimenez in the story of Andres Imenez's life. He's
there Orphan Black. Yeah, that was the first his first
gig was Orphan Black.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah, he's coming back in this spider Man.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Spider Man, yeahid spider Man.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
I'm complaining it with somebody else, but yes, I know
exactly who you're speaking of.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
I think that works. Yeah, that's that's not too bad.
Nice nice pull.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Michael Mando. Yeah, hey, I mean I don't know how
you would make it interesting. Maybe it's a Canadian film,
because if he winds up being a World series hero,
it does well in Canada. I don't know, but he
would play one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Well, I mean we got to just do a little
bit of due diligence on his backstory.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Okay, all right, well look there's something.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Oh you could drum it up and make it.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
No, but that's just based on a true story. Yeah, yeah,
true story.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
I didn't I didn't know. I didn't know that he
wore a power glove and he saved whales before he
oh yeah, one hundred percent he did that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Family was part of the Irish.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
He stopped in He stopped an alien invasion from Earth
seven fourteen. You didn't see that? When the aliens can
and he beat them all, you didn't say. And then
he game of baseball.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Pepper one of the battles in the Peaky Blinders.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yes, family part of that. Yeah, sure, uh so make
it four to one Dodger Toronto Blue Jay lead now
over the Dodgers, two outs, runners at first and second.
Looks like we're getting a pitching change. Dave Roberts on
the hill, Anthony Banda coming out of the game again,
two outs, four to one, now Toronto with the lead
over the Dodgers, looking to even up the World Series

(13:24):
at two games apiece. We'll continue to keep you posted
on this. What's been so far a nice and boring
and okay average game, which I think we all need
after last night. It's like, you know, the night after
a big party your house. You can't have a party
the next night. We need a night to just hang out,
talk about the party the night before, and then get
you know, clean up a little bit, make sure the
house is looking nice, and then okay, then we're recharge,
recharge for the big.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
One Okay, yeah, exactly exactly.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
So we have more on this a plus coming up
next because the World Series was so great last night,
we got so much NFL to get to coming off
of week eight. We got a big mvy P hot
take coming up next, as well as a Dallas Cowboys
take that will surprise and shock you. That's next right here,
Jason and Mike. My way is terrible by Sports Radio. Hey,

(16:20):
of of NBA marquee game of the night, Yannis getting
to meet his future teammates as they played the Knicks
four minutes ago in the fourth quarter. The Bucks lead
this one one oh seven to one oh three, And
maybe nothing is more impressive tonight in the world of
sports than watching Yannis get away with a six step

(16:41):
walk earlier in this game. Not three steps, not three?
How many times did you watch that? And I'm sure
you're accounting that is six steps?

Speaker 4 (16:49):
All right? That is that only five? Or do I
go to the sick No, that was sick?

Speaker 1 (16:53):
How does he get six steps?

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Like you look at the reficiating, you go, come on, man,
And then you go back and you watch video and
Patrick viewing and you go, oh, I see it.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
I mean I get like three steps. Sometimes I could
get four steps, but I mean, really he takes six
steps and he he picks up his dribble I think
one step inside of the three point line and doesn't
dribble the rest of the way. It's six steps, man.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Pretty impressive.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Yeah, he got I'd be I'd be more mad if
I didn't know he was going to be a Nick
by the deadline.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
You don't want to be really good if someone would
bother to defend him. Fourteen of twenty from the field tonight.
Well he's thirty two point five and five.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
He's showing the Knicks. This is why you're gonna trade
for me.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Just what he is?

Speaker 3 (17:36):
He walking around with a sign that says come get me. Well,
he actually came out wearing a Knixt jure. Did you
see that? Then he had to change really well, announced
him before. Oh and he had to take all he
unzipped his books warm up jacket. He was wearing a
Knix jersey. He had to zip it back up and
just go out there at high five is that's that's
an interesting bold strategy right there. Jalen Bronson thirty two

(17:56):
points for your Nicks. An awful game from cat thirty
two minutes two of eleven from the field does add
ten Sports could finish with a double double. Yeah, he's
got eight points. The four people are watching. What a surprise.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
The the a game in which, hey, the nicksy meeting
their new and future teammate. The guy that would be
traded for him is having a bad game. I just
don't care. You don't like me anymore? You don't like me?

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Well you know what.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
They also relegated this one to uh well Peacock.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Well yeah, well are trying to get people.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
That's part that's part of their Tuesday package. So there
you go.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Meanwhile, things getting away from the Dodgers. Here in the
seventh inning, Toronto with a six to one lead, now
over La Blake Tronin comes in and the wall gets
hit really really hard.

Speaker 6 (18:42):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
He is now allowed twelve of the twenty four runners
that he has faced this postseason to reach base.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Yeah, twelve of twenty four hitters.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Let's goraze all the way back to September when when
we said the biggest say and who wins the World
Series is the Dodgers' ball. And I don't mean from
a positive perspective. I mean no, you think we're just
gonna come in and get outs? Yeah, you saw Game
two and they couldn't score it us for four and
a half hours. Yeah, we're gonna take it back in
game three or Game four. Here is much more of

(19:11):
an outing for the Dodgers' bullpen that you expected last night.
You know, one of the big hidden things that we
didn't get to a ton last night is that because
the game was just so incredible all the way through,
is that, how do the Blue Jays not score any runs?
Sands that Dodger bullpen, But they didn't. But now tonight
the Blue Jays clearly much more attention to detail. They
are the more desperate team. They seem like they have

(19:32):
a little bit more jump than the Dodgers do tonight,
and clearly Shoheo Tani was sharp, gives up a couple
of hits, comes out of the game. Both those runners
inherited runners scored, they put up two more and now
it is a six to one lead, and we are
back to the issue the Dodgers have had throughout the postseason,
which is the only reliever that Dave Roberts can trust
is Roki Sasaki. That's really nobody else. Yeah, you held

(19:54):
your breaking out line.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Yeah, my god, will mean Sandy Kovak stayed for the
entire game. As we were talking about you can trust
no fast, he went into the clubhouse to find Kline
to make sure to give him love. Cline said more
people talk to him in the last twenty four hours
than he had his entire coach sure, which I thought
was kind of kind of funny.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Fifteen years from now, you're gonna hear, hey, where are
they now? Remember Will Klin right on principal on principal
because they do that tops now thing big moments.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
They made a Klin card. I'm buying a Klin.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
Card for the collection to put up on the wall.
They got the Otani and the Freeman and whatever else.
But you know, watching this as as they went to
the bullpen, part of me was like wise, band to
coming in, where's Kershaw? We got proof of concept yesterday
you only pitched a one hitter. Come on, we still
got it. We still got to bridge a big gap here.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
I mean, Dave Roberts for some reason, and this is
the I get that you can only do so much
in the postseason when you're trying to keep things at bay.
And the Dodgers we watched them do it a little
bit last year, right and you give Dave Roberts. This
is where I'm gonna give Dave Roberts a little bit
more credit. It then, when you talk about the bullpen,
is that think about the Dodgers march to the World
Series last year, right when he knew early on in

(21:08):
the game, this is not our day. He brought in
the lower leverage guys, even though the game wasn't a blowout.
Right like a couple of times the Mets led in
the NLCS when they had a cup, when the Dodgers
had games where the Mets were out four to one
in the third inning, it wasn't high leverage guys coming
in to keep the Dodgers in the game. It was
the lower leverage guys because Roberts, okay, this is kind

(21:29):
of not if we hit the game, Okay, we'll play it.
And he did it and it was perfect last year
because that's exactly what happened right in the high leverage.
But the problem is there's not a lot of the
high leverage guys or whoever just had a great outing.
Will Klein is now a high leverage guy. Right, he
throws a hundred, he's now a high leverage But how
much does he need recovery with that. He's never thrown

(21:50):
that many pitches. No, no, I mean right end, Yes,
I respect on his name. Absolutely, it was a ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Performa's never done that.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
He's the last time we saw Riveri's giving up hits
to the Diamondbacks.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
As soon as Luis Gaza. I mean, that's it. We
were talking about that yesterday. Right you had the Mets.
I was trying to point out the hey, here's two
great starters and then Rivera gives it up, like, ah.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Here you go.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
But but watching this, as soon as you get to
the pen, right, you get those anxious moments. And Otani
gave him ninety three pitches, went that that extra couple
of batters and so the inherited runners all come around.
But the stat on trning is just, yeah, unbelievable. And
obviously not having Vessia is a very big deal, but

(22:34):
you play who's available.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
But like that, That's the thing is after the game
last night, I wonder if Roberts is saying, Okay, we
have no jump tonight. There's nothing going on. Two to
one looks like six to one because they're not getting
runners on bays again, Otani is that they just don't
look like they have any jump, and they're definitely coming
off of we won the big game last night and
now we need to kind of get but we needed
we need a day to get right. We know you

(22:57):
get right to back, and the Blue Jays are the
team more desperate. So I kind of wonder I'm hoping
that that's why Dave Roberts is doing this, saying all right,
this is probably not our night tonight. We're gonna need
our guys tomorrow. We're gonna need the guys tomorrow because
we want We're not going back to Toronto down three to two.
That's not that's not a recipe for success. At this point.
We're thinking about winning and going back to Toronto needing

(23:19):
one game to win the World Series. Which, okay, when
you're talking about Snell and Yamamote, what however you want
to do? Put your uh your pitchers out there again,
this is what we're looking to do. So I really
wonder if I get you know, I understand Dodger fancy
what is Blade tried in the game, But I really
wonder if Dave Roberts is playing the long game with
what's happening.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
Yeah, we'll see Snell tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
He's announced, so we get that and we'll see if
Yamamoto can if if he has to, I mean, still
some baseball to be played here is Dryer comes out
to be the fourth Dodger pitcher of the night. Bieber
only went five and a third. Couldn't chase him though,
right and get a runner on weekly hit balls, bad swinging.
I mean, we talk about the strike zone on both sides.

(24:01):
It's been kind of inconsistent as we've run through, but
the old get him on, get him over, get him
in right, the one big blow from Vladimir Guerrero. But otherwise,
ball stay in the yard and guys are having to
try to come up in big situations. Dodgers haven't been
able to make much hay at all tonight.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
So we'll love more on this game coming up in
a few minutes. But NFL wise, we're getting close to
the trade deadline, and now more so than any other year,
we are filled with what is my team gonna do
at the deadline, whether it's we're trading guys away because
we stink Jets, or we need to go get some
good guys because we maybe have a chance to do things.

(24:40):
Cowboys chiefs, all these other teams. Right, this is that
now the trade deadline in the NFL has really become
a much better thing than it ever was. We've gone
just in the last ten years, we've gone from maybe
one guy, maybe a guy sitting out who's unhappy with
his content. When that would happened when stars couldn't force
the issue like they do. Now, maybe you get one

(25:01):
or two guys dealta what would the impact be now
or at a point where okay, we're gonna see large
player movement at the deadline. More so, it's like they've
finally embraced the fact that we can go get somebody.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
I think some of it.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
You know, we talked a little bit of on the
the iwanch of flex for this week, but talking about
the change in philosophy in management. Right, there's not a
long haul, five year build a college like we've been
talking about coaches getting blown out and getting a fifty
million dollar novelty check like Ed McMahon showed up at
his doorstep that that it's it's just a philosophy of

(25:37):
all right, we don't have this, let's go get assets
that we can use to rebuild and take it down
to scrap metal for lack of a better term. So
for some of these teams where there's a question you
might have a great player, but you're all right, it's
gonna take three years to build around him, right, Maybe
you got the running back, Maybe you've got a guy,

(25:58):
you know, Hendrickson's name keeps coming up up after the
Bengals lost to your Jets. Maybe it's more likely that
just send him along, you know what I mean. So
it's I think some of it's that change in philosophy,
and like you're not a lifer, so you you shuffle
up and deal and try to, you know, make the

(26:19):
best hand that you can, uh and put yourself in
a position to say, okay, we're pushing towards next year.
We've got seven draft picks, we got one or two
focal points, and we move from there.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
The one team that everybody is going to see, what
are you doing? More well, really the Chiefs, but to
more of an extent, obviously the Cowboys. Everybody wants to
point and laugh and go, oh, you need a defensive
player the deadline like he did that Michael Parsons. Jerry
Jones says, not sure if they're one defensive player, away. Uh,
clearly they need to make some kind of move, and
especially after their embarrassing loss on Sunday where the offense

(26:53):
just absolutely fell apart against the Broncos. But here's where
I'm gonna zig. When you think I'm gonna zag, Oh, Jason, yes,
you said all season long the Cowboys and look at them,
and and and yeah, they're great offense. But look what
happens when the offense can't do anything and the defense
is terrible and they're just kind of meandering around. I'm
gonna tell you this. I'm gonna be consistent and unpredictable
at the same time. I like this consistent predictable. You're

(27:15):
gonna expect me to say, yes, Dallas is who I
said they are, and they are right. They're a team
that has a terrific offense, and you don't want to
get in a shootout with them because they can beat
you on the flip side. Defensively, they're absolutely terrible and
they're gonna be a team that that that meanders around
five hundred four this year. But this is where isaig.

(27:38):
The offense is even better than expected. The Colts and
the Cowboys offenses are running at a level above everybody
else in the league. Don't panic off of this one
game against the Broncos. The offense has been so good.
They've been so good for so long. Sometimes you just
have a bad game, and you have a bad game

(28:00):
on the road against a really good defensive team. It happens.
It happens. But because it's the Cowboys, it's always Lady
or the Tiger. It's either. Things are unbelievable. Man, this
is the worst in the world. I can't. I gotta
burn all my gear on social media and show everybody
because I'm so mad right now. Sometimes you just have
a bad game, and not to the Cowboys had they

(28:21):
just had a bad game. They happened. They happen. All
the best teams have bad games, and this offense just
had a bad game. Now, I was surprised that Denver
emotionally coming off the win the week before, you know,
thirty three points in the fourth quarter, and suddenly what's
gonna happen. Yes, you're gonna get a bounce, you're gonna
get a bit of a flat game. But instead it
was the opposite, which tells me how good Denver's gonna

(28:43):
be in a couple of weeks. So all credit to them.
Their offense seems to be coming around. But for Dallas, yeah, okay,
they had a bad game offensively, defensively, we know who
they are. They're not gonna wind up going crazy. So
to hear Jerry Jones say, I don't know that we're
one player away. Like this loss, I feel like it
really hurt them and hurt how they feel they can

(29:03):
compete in the NFL. Don't don't let this game define you.
If you think you can go get a good defensive player,
go give your team a shot. Because offensively they're much
better than anybody thought. I said they're going to be
a really good offensive team. Now they're the best offensive
team in the NFC, maybe the best offensive team in
the NFL, but at worst their second. So don't let

(29:23):
this loss now push you the other way to say, yeah,
you know, we thought we were one guy away, one
star guy. You know a week ago was is Dallas
one star player away from the Super Bowl?

Speaker 6 (29:33):
Now?

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Jerry Jones, well, I don't know. Yah, don't let this
one game. You're still a really terrific offensive team. Make
a couple of moves you need that's going to jump
start the team and be competitive, be a playoff competitive
team in the second half of the year. Don't let
it's just a bad game blow it off.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Yeah, as we said, they were not that answer was no,
they were not one player away because they're also with
aunt Trevon Diggs, who they put on IR and Micah
Parsons and others have chimed in about how that all
was handled, and we didn't get transparencies, so none of
us know the full story there. But he's on IR.
So that's a big part of your secondary to Denver

(30:10):
for a second, certain missing he got hurt at the
end of the first half. He's gonna miss four to
six weeks, So we'll see what that does to the
defensive acumen that they've got because he's chased and been
the traveling buddy to all the number one wide receivers
and suddenly that opens up a little bit of something.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
But yeah, for Dallas, you've got some winnable games.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
You got the Cardinals and Raiders are your next two,
and then you have a little bit of a gauntlet
before you see whoever Minnesota is propping up at quarterback.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Jason Smith Mike Harmon Lot from the Fox Sports Radio studios,

Time out to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports from someone who's been called the Blake
trinon of Fox Sports Radio. Hey, every other battery faces
somehow finds a way to get on base. It is
Steve di Sego.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
Yeah, my sweeper's not working tonight or any other night
this postseason. The Blue Jays are of six to one
at Dodger Stadium in the top of the eighth Well,
they're just now going to the bottom of the eighth
inning of Game four. Looks like Toronto will leave in
the series at two games apiece, which means after Wednesday's
Game five in la there will be a Game six
in Toronto on Friday. It appears great stat from Sarah

(31:42):
Langs that the Blue Jays were the best in baseball
at winning games when they allowed the first run of
the game this regular season, they were nearly a five
hundred team when they allowed the first run, and they
allowed the first run tonight to sackfly in the second
from Key k Hernandez.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Steve, what are teams records against the Dodgers when Blake
tryn And pitches recently? Yeah, this whole Dodger bold as
one of the discussed for the last three months. This
I assure you this bullpen will make last nights zero
after zero after zero even more astounding than it was

(32:21):
while we were living through it. In Game three last night,
Keith a hernand is the early sack fly, first sackfly
in about a month for the Dodgers. But right away
an answer from the offense of Toronto, and it came
from Vladimir Guerrero Junior two run homer in the third inning.
Now show Hee Otani was the starting pitcher. He didn't
have a walk early in this game. That means, including

(32:42):
last night six consecutive walks, passing lou gerrig for long
such streak in World Series history. But Guerrero shot, well,
it's his seventh career postseason homer. That's a Blue Jays record.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
He now has the Toronto mark most RBIs in one
postseason and things got bad for the bullpen when they
became a part of this game. In the top of
the seventh, Now show Heyo Tani had thrown a hundred
pitches in his last start when he dominated Milwaukee, most
pitches he has thrown this year, so that's the most
pitches since his major injury. They let him start the

(33:16):
top of the seventh against the Blue Jays tonight. O'tani
allowed a single, double, came out. What did the bullpen do?
RBI single, allowed RBI ground out, and after the two
out intentional walk to Vladimir Guerrero Junior, Bobashett an RBI single,
Addison Barger and RBI single and a two to one
lead became six to one Toronto and that's where we

(33:37):
stand going to the bottom of the eighth. By the way,
Bobashett the best in baseball in the regular season with
runners in scoring position. He had a batting average of
over three point eighty again. For the moment, it's two
games to one Dodgers, but big lead for the visitors.
The New Orleans Saints will start rookie quarterback Tyler Shuck
at the Rams on Sunday. Washington quarterback Jaden Daniels is

(33:58):
due to return to practice Wednesday after his hamstring injury.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson practice fully. He's due to return
to play this Thursday night at Miami. Just about everything
final in the NBA now that Milwaukee wonted home against
the Knicks one twenty one to one, eleven thirty seven
points for Janni, Santana Coumpo wins for Miami, for Philadelphia

(34:19):
in overtime, Phileas four and oh and Oklahoma City's five
and oh getting a late run to beat Sacramento one
oh seven, one oh one, Shay Gilchis Alexander thirty one points.
We're still a half an hour away from the late
game starting Clippers at Golden State, and everyone's playing in
the NHL tonight going to overtime. Winnipeg tied three to
three at Minnesota. Vegas was a six to three winner

(34:41):
at Carolina, and the TV ratings for the World Series
have been good so far. Keep in mind it's Toronto
is one of the competing teams. If you add up
the US plus Canada ratings, first two games have averaged
about twenty million viewers, best since at least twenty sixteen,
when the Cubs were in it. And if you add
up for the opener last week US Canada and Japan,

(35:02):
it was over thirty million viewers for game number one
of this series.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Back to you now, I see there is breaking news
to bring you right now. Mookie Bets got a hit.
Mookie Bets with a bit. I just watched it with
my own eyes, A line drive to left center field.
Mookie Bets has a base hit. Now we returned to
our affiliates. By the way, this is with Chris Bassett
on the mound. This is, as John Morosi is pointing

(35:28):
out tonight. A really nice addition. We can get an
extra reliever, somebody who was a rotation starter. Yeah, x
met Chris Bassett now pitching in the World Series.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
You know we had the x Mets throwing out the
first pitches. Wasn't today on Nomo? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (35:43):
As legend today? Yeah, absolute Laurel.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
He threw out the first pitch tonight to Clayton Kershaw.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
By the way, did you know he hates Jason.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
That's been well established, well established, and he also has
to wait in line in that category.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Ah, thank you, Steve. Oh I think coming up next,
we got to play the day coming your way, and
it's time to pour cold water on one NFL out of
control quarterback that people think could be the MVP of
the league. He's Superman's next right here, Jason to Mike Fox.

Game you know we will have more on that coming
up in the. Show but it was a guy that
did not look happy in that. Game you THINK i
was kidding WHEN i, Said, hey here's a game Where
yannis could be meeting his new. Teammates you know how
much he Likes New. York the rumors in the, Offseason
jason maybe when he traveled like, that he was hitting
To New. York i'm just gonna GET i gotta get
there faster. NOW i gotta, say, though if he gets

(38:00):
a coincidence That Karl Anthony towns had a bad, game
melted down a couple of times against The bucks where
he knows he's the guy traded to know he ain't going.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
There if The bucks do, that then they should dissolve
a dissolve the franchise right. Now thirty seven eight and
seven tonight plus sixteen sixteen of twenty two from the.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
Field to be, honest great line for The knicks when
they get him at the, death that's going to be.
Fantastic he And Ryan, rollins Not, hollins our.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
GUY i.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Know Ryan rollins had twenty five eight of eleven shooting
for The bucks as.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
Well meanwhile today in THE nfl the last couple of.
DAYS i not THAT i want to pour cold water on,
it BUT i kind of do you do? Okay because
he's in division we had makes you. Mad we had
THE mvp conversation last. Night mahomes at the. Top Daniel,
jones if you're being, honest is right behind. Him fifteen
to one still For Daniel. Jones i'm not Buying Drake.

(38:52):
MAY i get that people Want Drake may to Be
tom we tried to Make Matt jones Tom. Brady he.
Wasn't let's Make Drake may Tom brady'll, Okay Drake may
has been pretty good so, far he's. No, No i'm
not saying he's. Not i'd like a three hundred yard
game from him if he's going to be These, OKAY
i think he gotta.

Speaker 3 (39:09):
Do but If i'm completing seventy five percent of my
passes five touchdowns per, pick, YEAH i got as many
touchdowns and eight games AS i had all last.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Year your volume passing for it's. Okay, LOOK i, Know,
LOOK i don't want you to Think i'm not saying
he's not been. Good he's been. Good he's been good.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
Good but, however.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
The patriots are the beneficiaries of what may be the
easiest schedule in THE nfl in. Years, okay part of
their start so, far that's about six and Two raiders who.
Stink miami absolutely. Stinks pittsburgh are. Pretenders we told you about.
Them their defense is. Terrible carolina. Stinks, Okay buffalo is,

(39:50):
good all, right to Beat, buffalo great one. Win New orleans,
Stinks tennessee is. Worse cleveland. Stinks that's you're talking about
the vast majority of you playing well are against teams that.
Stink all, right, Well, jason, well, hey you're gonna see
him does it against good competition second half of the.
Year what good? Competition he's Got, atlanta he hasn't even
played The jets once, yet and he's got The jets.

(40:12):
Twice he's Got cincinnati who, stinks The giants who, Stink
baltimore whose defense, Stinks miami. Again The patriots are gonna
wind up being like bleep in twelve and five this.

Speaker 5 (40:24):
Year and.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
They will have played everybody who. Stinks i'm not Saying
drake may has not been. Good he, has but, WOW i,
mean this may be the easiest schedule in THE nfl
in the last five. Years and it. Did it does
like it gets more. Difficult tells you what the schedule lightens? Up,
no schedule stays this cream puffy, man it's gonna be
another eight nine weeks of cream puffs for The.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
Patriots, No, no it's it's certainly them in the forty
nine ers we talked about to start the, season and
that still plays easiest schedules that you have. Going he
did show up As superman at children's hospital For.

Speaker 4 (40:58):
Halloween that's. Good, now that's so.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
That plays into a little bit of where he's, AT i,
mean because you can tie that back into THE mvp
race stand in tall leaping buildings at a single. Bound
so that's a great thing that he does with the
community there in The Greater boston. Area but fifteen and
three taking care of the, football making plays with his,

(41:20):
legs doesn't have the true number. One Maybe boudea becomes that,
guy right and a little bit of, digs but you
don't have a true number. One so you're going out
and distributing the. Ball, WELL i can't fault him for
who he has to. PLAY i, MEAN i don't think
we take de barrets because of the strength of. Schedule
But Matt jones might have been able to do this

(41:41):
against this level of competition with the guy that didn't
have a pencil behind his ear as his offensive. Cordon
these teams absolutely are. Terrible that's why he got wet
out there and all the plays got washed off because
it was all in.

Speaker 4 (41:54):
Pencil.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
Terrible we react To game four of The World series,
