Speaker 3 (00:28):
Takes the snap, drops back, looks over the middle under pressure,
and he rookie South back to the thirty two yard
line by Leonard Floyd. So the Bills get a big
negative and Aaron Rodgers gets up with a limb. Aaron
Rodgers right now is a look one hundred percent right.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Well that's a good light wit, because you got Leonard Floyd,
the Great. He's going down, Ben.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Aaron Rodgers is sitting down in the field, he's hurt.
Eleven fifteen to go in the opening quarter and Aaron
Rodgers is injured on the sack by Letter Floyd, and
the Jets training staff surrounds him and Zach Wilson pops
up and starts to get ready and take some warm
up pros.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
It's over. Jenny it's over and the season's over.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
What Alon, what any I will not have your play
analysis right now.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
I will not have it. He's down, he's going down.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
The Syracuse is to and oh they are a veritable
juggernt Hello and welcome inside. I would say happy Monday, Yeah,
but really, really is it for the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
It's broke. It's broke. It's broke. Good thing I brought
that brisket in.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
We're Lockedthetirac dot com studios. Tyrec dot com will help

com the way tire buying should be. So here's where
we are. In case you missed it, we have to

(02:06):
go back to the beginning. Aaron Rodgers, as you heard
out of the game tonight, for the Jets four plays,
he was hit on two of them. And this play
either what looks to be potentially a serious Achilles injury,

(02:27):
a not so serious Achilles injury, a serious ankle sprain,
a not serious ankle sprain. Either he's alive or he's dead,
or the cops got him, or they dumb. What we
know about Aaron Rodgers after suffering his injury. Is this
X rays on his ankle going down on his fourth
play as a New York Jet, fourth play, four players,

(02:48):
four up for We did not complete a pass with
the Jets yet no X ray's negative on his ankle.
Oh yah, however, could be a serious Achilles injury. It
could not be a big series Killes' injury. A further
MRI will happen on Tuesday, but Aaron Rodgers is out
of this game as the Jets trail of the Bills

(03:11):
thirteen to six midway through the third quarter.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Still hanging around Breeze Hall ready to just take direct snaps.
Tell me that's not the best offense they have at
their disposal.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
If there was no quarterback position in the NFL, there
was no such thing as a quarterback position. The Jets
might have seven or eight Super bowls.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
They might.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
They might have seven or eight super bowls. They might
they might have that many. I don't even know. I
don't even know what to say. When it happened, and
I saw him sit down after he got after after
he gets grabbed, and it looked like and who knows,
potentially he could have twisted his ankle in the in
the turf. I don't know you're already seeing. Oh the
Jets offensive line is bat It was the fourth play.

(03:56):
It was a second time he got hit. You know,
don't give me the offense. It's not like he was
under siege. You're under the rest for three quarters. And
it was the fourth play. Okay, Josh Allen's got sacked
a couple of times. Uh you know, sit here saying,
oh you doing that. This is not the offensive line thing.
Rogers got hit and he got sacked and he got hurt. Right,
It's one of those things that just happens. That's that's

(04:18):
the number one thing, as I would say, is it's
not of if they had just done better.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
It just a no the guy get it.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
Look, it's not unfortunate injury like it rolls, it sucks,
it's off like it kind of gets caught in the
turf because you had a lot of current and former
players going as that damn turf raise in it's head again, right,
and you see the way his foot goes as his
body is getting a little bit of torque, and you
just cringe.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Yeah, like it's bad, but it's not because the offensive
line missed the block. It's not a hey, he got
blindsided and decleted. No, his foot planted and unfortunately the
body's going one way and the foot's planted in the turf.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
We've seen it a million times.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Yeah, it's got nothing to do with the ineptitude of
the offensive line. They had not yet established that that
was going to be the case. Look it, it just sucks,
right it. It just sucks. It sucks for everybody. It
sucks for me mostly though, but it sucks for the NFL.
It sucks for fans, It sucks for the league. You're
talking about the storyline in the NFL, the only storyline

(05:20):
of the last six months.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Rogers is a jet. Rogers is a jet, and now
what happens. Who knows how long he's out for because
this is typically, this is how it works for the Jets.
So getting past the fact that it just sucks, it
happened when it happened, Was I really one hundred percent surprise? No,
Because this is what happens to this, This is why
we can this is what happens. This is what happens.

(05:41):
From Testa, Verdi's achilles, Pennington's shoulder, Farv's bicep, Sanchez's shoulder,
Gino Smith's jaw, Sam Darnold and Mono to.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
This, I mean really Smith's jaw like he was Ken
Griffy Junior. I mean in talking jaw. I mean, this
is how works for the Jets. This is how it
goes for years. This is what I mean.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
If there was no such thing as a quarterback position,
the Jets might have seven or eight super roles because
no matter what happens, it just doesn't work.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
It just doesn't work.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
And I'm fully prepared to hear Aaron Rodgers done for
the season. I'm fully prepared for it, done for the season,
and to see maybe Philip Rivers will come out of retirement,
maybe they'll sign Carson Wentz, maybe we'll get Tom Brady Brady.
Bray Brady's still in the area. He got honored yesterday
in New England. He's probably still around. That's how it's gone.
I'm fully prepared for this because I've seen it so
many times. It sucks, it's terrible, but I see it

(06:29):
and I go yeah, because this is how it goes
for the Jets. This is how it's going for the Jets.
My entire life, my entire life that meanwhile, it's all
Frostburg's fault because he kept saying Jeorge's gonna get hurt,
Roger's gonna get hurt. Zach Wilson's gonna be out there,
Jack Wilds's gonna be out there. Roger it's Frostburg.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Didn't even say it was gonna happen in the game.
First quarter. Really gonna key your car?

Speaker 1 (06:50):
I mean, I'm just gonna have to go back to
middle that specificity, extra extra long, extra sharp key right
down the middle of your car.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I want to cut it in half. We're getting KYLEB. Williams.
I mean they did whoa whoa getting Caleb Williams.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Now I was getting ready to go run down a
bunch of backups and tertiary outsids that you could rake for.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
You just said, forget it, We're gonna suck it. D
He's already won a game. You on, Arizona's not as
bad as we thought they were. Suddenly, hold on, that
was Washington, Josh Ups, Josh Ubs. You know you want
to talk about slot sloppy football across the board.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Yesterday there were so many games. I'm like, all right,
done with this. I got a wide receiver who's already
quit in Chicago, and yeah, I'll name him Clay Pool.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
He quit everybody else.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Oh you don't want to call a guy out, No, no,
don't dance around it. You want to point out plays
and say, hey, see what I see here? Yeah, he
quit multiple times.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Tonight's about the Jets, though, Mike. No, but that's it
across the league.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Though we expected on even this, and coming into this game,
you get a little nervous. Now it's the standalone money
because look, we saw whatever the hell that was last night.
I mean, that wasn't even a football game act.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
You know, and you know you want to know something
at Landa last night, I actually said to myself, fool,
my worst case. My worst fear was that I told
I thought the Giants would roll the Cowboys. Right, So
I was wrong about the game. But I but that's fine.
I've been wrong about games.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yeah, I wasn't worried about rolling, and I thought I'd
be competitive.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
I said, Okay, well the Giants lose forty to nothing. Okay,
so at least I don't have to worry about Hey, yeah,
the Giants winning a game and suddenly we're we're still
the Kings in New York. Look at us there, the
Kings and New York. I have to look at them going, hey,
look out, will you just beat Dallas? We're great? What
about you Jets? And I said, well, no, matter what
happens tonight, can't be worse than that.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Tada, Jets.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
What do you think the back page is gonna read,
it's broke.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
It's gonna say hard knock for Rogers, hard knock for Rock.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Yeah, just a crazy weekends, injuries, crazy games, no show efforts.
The preseason perhaps means a little bit more all those
off defensive and defensive coordinators in their first opportunities. But tonight,
I'm driving in and I got Harlan on the call
as as I'm in the car on the freeways here

(09:10):
in Los Angeles, and then there's just that moment where
he pauses, Warner doesn't say anything, and then you just
hear it. Oh no, And so they start to describe it,
and then we almost saw a fight at halftime.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Oh you at the desk?

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Yeah, as as Schefter tries to give the update, and
he's kind of going down with the internet doctors. You
know the cops got him or they don't. Kind of
thing if you don't know, and you haven't examined. You're
just a guess. Yeah, you've got urped. Scott Van Pelt
was not there for Adam Schefters. Let me be clear,
this could be very His age makes it serious. He's

(09:45):
not coming back to the game. It's serious. It's serious.
Oh man, I'll tell you.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
That the tap dance.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
You're only going to have to give the Packers a
second rounder. Look at the Tell the bright side, Caleble,
We're gonna get Kleb Williams. It's going that bad. I
mean they just picked off Josh Allen again. You got
the ballpodcast. You've seen Zach Wilson play.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
We're gonna get Caleb Williams. We're gonna get him. Uh,
that doesn't mean there won't be another guy. Mike White.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Jason, what are you gonna do with that? Zach Wilson jersey?
You burn? Are you gonna get that back?

Speaker 1 (10:29):
I'll unburn it. I think you do that unburn it.
You can actually unburn something.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Do you have the time turner? Yeah, Hermione Granger.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I go back and I would max protect on the
left side so Rodgers wouldn't get hit on that play.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Uh now, let me tell you that you want you
wanted something. Seriously. Now we're gonna starts here. No no, no, no,
no no.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
I'm telling you so far since that injury happened, right
because we have what injury, we have four hours of
the Aaron Rodgers to talk about. Uh again, I exist
so you can feel better about your teams.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
This is true.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
I could win the lottery, and I don't know if
it's like like one of those super ten billion dollar
lottery wins, but I could win like your normal ay,
a couple hundred million dollars in the lottery. I went,
you're normal. I can win Yeah, you know, a couple
hundred million. I could win the lottery, and I would
not get as many texts as I've gotten tonight from

(11:18):
people in my family I haven't talked to in years.
Then I've gotten because of Rogers and the Jets.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
I what are the number of tweets and texts checking
in on your welfare?

Speaker 2 (11:27):
People are really concerned.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
One of my uncles, who I know I have not
texted since twenty fifteen. We're going back, like I know,
I have not texted him since twenty fifteen, text me hey,
because he's a Giants fan. And he texted me, hey, boy,
looks like we had a better night than you did.
We lost forty nothing. We still have all our players.
I wrote back, I said, maybe if you lose forty nothing,

(11:49):
you should get new players at I haven't talked to
you at eight years. Rob Let me get Jason Aaron
Rodgers got act How was he like a swinging neck
breaker in ass?

Speaker 2 (11:59):
I mean, I could have won the lottery.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
I am not hearing from as many people in my
family that I have not heard from in years. It's like,
it's real, I really, it's it's sorry. Yeah, I did
watch your phone blow up.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
It's amazing. It's amazing where you finally threw it down
and just says you don't have gonna eat more cheese.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Option Well, I do thank you for bringing in that.
That brisket that you buy tonight is very tasty. And
I tried the ted Lasso barbecue sauce, which is really good.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Man, that's good. That's been a high point of the night.
Right now, see there, you guys, let's be like Aaron
Rodgers here and break.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Really you want to talk about the charges yesterday. Let's
talk about the charges. Let's talk about the tar We
have a quarterback to Zach Wilson. Yeah, we have one, Zach.
Why do we trade for Justin? Herbert waiting On says,
I I can't take this anymore. I gotta go, I
gotta go. I gotta go to the Jets.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Uh. Now, Tyreek Hill is still running.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
What is happening in the game? As Harmon alluded to
another interception from Josh Allen, he gets picked off in
the end zone second from the night by Jordan Whitehead.
Jets takeover, are unable to get a first down. They
punted away to the Bills. They trail thirteen to six.
The game is still there for the Jets. Not like
they're gonna win, but the game is still there for
the Jets. And oh, by the way, let me just

(13:11):
say this because this is you know, of all the
things happening, I'm like, ah, what can we do? Breecee
Hall is back. He looks phenomenal. He's got like one
hundred and fifty, totally eighty and on that eighty three
yard right.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
This is one of what pisses me off.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
The is, Yeah, Breeze Hall's running for a touchdown and
Garrett Wilson is running behind him fingers in the air
like it's a touchdown at the forty yard line. What
should he have been doing? How about getting away the
defensive back who comes from behind you and tackles Breeze
Hall at the sixteen yard line, Jets, because if you
get in that guy's way, it's a touchdown and now

(13:47):
it's a three point game. But no, no, no, because
Garrett Wilson at the forty yard line, with guys chasing Brisal,
wants to run down the field with his fingers in
the air.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
You look cool.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
They wind up getting Yeah it it looked cool until
the guy came up and tackled Brings.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Most people will forget the back of that.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
It's hey, Breeze Hall's healthy and he ran for eighty three.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
You know what's great about all this? Though?

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Nothing's great great about any of it, but few expectations.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Nothing expectations for me.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
I knew my team was gonna suck, and I told
you that Friday, and you didn't believe me. So I
could go off of my team's poor effort and just
talk about the rest of the league and be happy
as can be.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
We're gonna smash the Bills, exit our quarterback. Not what
do you want? As far as I know, you have
a worse.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Record than I'm gonna smash the Bills. Yeah, we have
a worse You have a worse record than we do.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Not even gonna be close.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Yeah, No, you have a worse record. You're you're on one.
You're on one and one and one. We go in
sixteen more games with Herbert one.

Speaker 6 (14:48):
On one road.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
You've lost the game zero. I forgot about the smash him. Yeah,
good for you, bag, Go get hurt me. Do what
I'm gonna do. You play who's on the field? What
do you want me to do? Be sure to catch

Jets are going to smash the Bills on My Mick.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Headed to the fourth quarter without Aaron Rodgers, who leaves
the game with a potential serious injury after four snaps,
Jets trail Buffalo thirteen to six. They do have the
football again. Fourth quarter just underway? What is next?

Speaker 2 (15:38):
What did we see? Joining us?

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Now?

Speaker 1 (15:40):
I'm a hotline nobody better, long time NFL insider with
Odyssey the Washington Post. Check them out on Twitter at
Jason Lockin for That's at Jason lockinfora what's happening? Jay?

Speaker 2 (15:51):
How are you?

Speaker 6 (15:52):
Hey? What's going on? I'm just looking through my various
apps here find all different ways I faded the Jets.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
That's all, okay, You just.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Wait, you just wait till we get till Tom Brady
is playing quarterback for us next week.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
You just wait, just wait.

Speaker 6 (16:07):
That's fine, But your boy Rodgers ain't getting into his
yardage or his touchdown to it. I mean, like, that's fine,
but I had him for two picks tonight, so we'll
never know. But the season long stuff feel pretty good.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
About That's good, Okay, all right, I'm with you on that.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
I'm with you there struggling here, mister Locke, and for
I can tell you, look what my guys staggered like.
He's been going fifteen rounds with a heavyweight.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
You know, just just seeing the play. And obviously we're
still waiting for final diagnoses. We're hearing all kinds. It
could be his achilles, it could be an ankle, it
could be it could be many different things. We just
don't know until tomorrow, until the ri comes in.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Uh it did?

Speaker 1 (16:47):
It looked to me that you're seeing him his cleet
got a little bit stuck in the turf, and maybe
and that's kind of what it looked like that whether
it's an achilles popped after it or whether it's an
ankle twist.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
But I look at it.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
It didn't look like it was anything on the hit,
on the on the tackle itself, on the hit itself,
but seeing his foot plant and the turf right there,
I could see the twists and I can already see
the turf stuff and the turf questions coming up tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (17:15):
Well, it's been a garbage surface for a long time,
and there have been many teams, teams. I've covered guys
who've played in the league who have sort of held
their breath and held their nose when they've gone there.
And look, I'm not saying I'm a field expert. I
know that this stuff isn't grass. I know it doesn't
give like grass. I know there's plenty of medical experts

(17:35):
who would say you're playing with fire. These these billionaires
make billions of dollars when they sell their teams. They
make hundreds of million dollars each year off the TV
contracts alone, and they don't care enough about their primary
assets to put them in positions where they're week to
week and year to year and decade to decade longevity

(17:56):
would be prized. It makes no sense, but I guess
you know there's a word for that, right, greed Like
this this whole proposition, And we we talked about this forever,
and I never thought it was gonna end well. And
it never made sense to me because he can't move anymore,

(18:18):
and you're taking him and you're putting him into a
tougher conference, and you're doing it with just a fake
offensive line tackles who nobody thinks are going to hold
up or do the job week in week out, and
you're parachuting him in like he's some sort of savior
when he was maybe the twentieth best quarterback last year

(18:39):
and then you're putting him on the surface that's this garbage,
and they played a game on it last night, which
can't be good. I mean, I'm watching guys warm up
with the weather the last two days and everybody's covered
in pellets. We all saw Dak last night and it's like,
there's nothing natural about this. There's not the normal give
and it's a shame. But there was no way in

(19:01):
my mind this guy was playing anything close to a
full season this year. I don't think it'd be four snaps,
but in the first four games maybe I just does
never look built. The last has never looked true. We've
like fought through and again that surface has been has
drawn the ire of players and coaches for years and

(19:23):
years and years. I know the Ravens thought a couple
of guys who went down on day to play the
Jets and the Giants last year. They feel like some
of their significant injuries were related to it. Like it's
it's a joke.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
So that end, you mentioned the game of last night.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Look, I said, sat in looking for an NFC East
battle and about three possessions in I was trying to
find Matt Locke.

Speaker 6 (19:48):
Yeah, it's more entertaining, that's for sure. Look, I'm you
know me, I'm never ready to crown the Cowboys, and
that was a perfect storm, and it was I mean,
everything that could have possibly gone their way early in
that game went their way. You know, it's not like

(20:08):
Dak had some monster night. And I still think Mike
McCarthy straight of his own shadow, and that will manifest
itself in the way that these games are called and
the way these games are managed, and he's going to
be in plenty of close and late situations. And that
game yesterday happened to be over, you know, about eight
minutes in, so we'll see, you know, the Giants faced
the Cardinals. I mean, that should be a great get

(20:31):
right proposition for them. I'm not ready to freak out
about them just yet, and I'm certainly not ready to
crown the Cowboys. I mean some of these games they
just kind of went sideways really quickly, and it was
one way. Traffic and game script and preparation and all
that went out the window, and you had certain teams,

(20:51):
you know, in survival mode by the second quarter of
the season, you know, but I mean literally the second quarter,
not you know, the second four games. So yeah, we'll see.
I think the Eagles will win that division, and I
think they'll probably win it pretty comfortably.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Well, maybe the Jets got Jalen Hurts or maybe they
got Dak Prescott.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
I mean, and maybe one maybe they maybe a swing
it to swing a big trade. Maybe one of those
guys gets traded.

Speaker 6 (21:19):
Yeah, I mean, you want you want Kyler Murray, you
will turn that off for side?

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Oh boy, will they be bad enough to go get
Caleb Williams.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
I don't know how much is going to fit in
their cap space. Like, look, you know, I think we
all while not we all because it wasn't me. Some
people got blinded by what Tom Brady did and they
looked at that and extrapolated it to other people. But
that is He's the ultimate unicorn for so many reasons,
not the least of which is what he did in

(21:46):
Tampa in a freaking COVID year, no less, in a pandemic,
with no kind of normal offseason and not knowing who's
going to be available from week to week like, that's
not the norm the normous Johnny United is going out
to San Diego to die.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Well, well then that's okay then, because then we can
get we can get Tom Brady then worked with Tom Brady.
What I mean, he can stop dating Arena shak for
a while and you can show up and turn the football.

Speaker 6 (22:09):
We're sure go play on that crap field for you
know what.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
I mean, to stick it to Belichick, Come on, to
stick it to Belichick. I'm gonna go play for the Jets.
Come on, go on.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
I think there's a way better shot. He comes into
bail the Patriots out for some some crazy reason than
than them or maybe you know, back home in the
Bay Area, brock Purty gets hurt again. But no, I don't.
I don't see him putting on Come on, he's not
putting on the green and white.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
You really want to upset Belichick? You really want to
upset him all? Come on, let's do that, Let's do that,
Let's do yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:43):
Oh yeah, what's He's the great motivator and the great
I'm sure. Well, the good news is he's out of
the league, so at least you won't get hit with
tampre charges. Wow, Josh Allen, what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Yeah, Josh Allen is third pick. I tell you what,
white Head's going to the Pro Bowl off of his gag.
My god, got three picks so far.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
Yeah, just run the ball.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Yeah, if only.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
The Jets could score three were on the punt check
kind of situation.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
This was a really good reason.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
This reminds me on already like to go to you
know how history repeats itself every generation, because I know,
I know you and I are old enough to remember this.
In ninety nine, the Jets were coming off the AFC
Championship game in ninety eight with the Bracos, it was
going to be a Super Bowl season. They loaded up.
Testa Verdi gets hurt Week one. The team is loaded everywhere,
great offense, great defense, running game, everything.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Testa Verdi gets hurt.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
It takes him a few weeks to get the quarterback
situation right because it.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Was Rick Meyer, then it was Ray Lucas.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
They win their last few games and they missed the
playoffs by a game like that.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
I'm already thinking this is like nineteen ninety nine.

Speaker 6 (23:44):
Oh, I think you're gonna miss it, but more than
a game, bron concerned. I wouldn't be worried about sweating
it out. Oh but I think you'll have your mind
on other things by the holidays. Yeah, so you can
start thinking about the draft. Hey, good news is it's
a great year to draft a quarterback. The bad news
is you'll win too many games.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yeah, okay, you Taylor William, but.

Speaker 6 (24:07):
He teams tanking better, you know, so or tanking sooner.
So yeah, but you know, maybe you'll move up and
take the next Zach Wilson.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Hey, the other big injury up until Aaron Rodgers obviously JK. Dobbins,
who is out for the year.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
The Achilles, the Ravens say today they're going to stay
in house. Does this mean Justice Hill? Does this mean
Gus Edwards? Does this mean Melvin Gordon? Does this mean
Jamal Willis? What does it mean?

Speaker 6 (24:33):
Well, it certainly means Justice I think is into the
lead role. I mean this is a different offense. This
is not Greg Romans system anymore. And Hill was the
guy who looked the best and got the biggest run.
Remember j K. Dobbins wasn't around most of the summer anyway.
It was a hold in, and you know he wasn't
going to play in the preseason games even he was practicing,
but he didn't even return to practice until a couple

(24:54):
of weeks ago. So Justice Hill got a really long
run there. And this, you know, todm Munkin likes the
field ball high percentage passed as horizontally as a screen game.
And Justice Hill is good out in space, and they
trust Justice Hill as a pass protector and they're throwing
the ball now more than they have been a long
lot of time. So he's the next man up. You know.
Melvin Gordon was not anything particularly you know, good in

(25:18):
the preseason, but he's still there. They do have a
young kid they like, Keith Mitchell, but he can't play
for another few more weeks. He's on IR but I
do think he's going to get a shot, you know.
And Gus Edwards looked like he was going to be
a guy to run the ball when they had a
big lead in the second half for short yardage only.
But he's probably going to get a little more run
now just because you know, the bel Coal isn't there.

(25:38):
But the whole left side of their line is decimated
now too, So that's going to be really interesting going
into Cincinnati, and if title Linderbaum, their center is not
going to play the right guard. Simpson is just a guy,
sort of a journeyman. You know, he was going to
be okay if he played between Ronnie Stanley and Linderbaum,
you know what I mean, Like, okay, we can get
by with a blow replacement of a left card. Now

(26:02):
we're looking at Patrick McCarry as the left tackle and
Mustafer as the center. That's a little that's a little
different scenario. And that offensive line wasn't looking great yesterday.
And Ronnie Stanley if he's out for any period of time,
and they went two out of every three games when
he starts, and they're barely five hundred when he does it.
And he's had some serious health issues in the past

(26:24):
and bad ankle injuries and you know, having to get
the same surgery repeated twice. So there's certainly reason for concerned.
Marcus Williams their best safety. He's going to miss probably
at least half the year, if not all of it.
Is they figure out whether he's going to get surgery
on that pack or not. It's it's the injury situation
here is already pretty weak.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
He's on Twitter at Jason Locking four that is at
Jason lock and for it. Check him out on Odyssey,
Washington Post. Jay as always, Buddy, appreciate you, my friend.
We'll talk to you soon.

Speaker 6 (26:52):
You guys have a great week, all right, Jason.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Takes the snap, drops back, looks over the middle under Clutcher,
and he rookie South back to the thirty two yard
gone by Leonard Kloyd. So the bills get a big
negative and Aaron Rodgers gets up with a limb. Aaron
Rodgers right now? Does it look one hundred percent right?

Speaker 1 (27:20):
How did he get how did he make yards? On
that Fox Sports radio? Well, you were listening to the
Aaron Rodgers injury. I'm watching Breese Hall on the jetsnow
potentially seconds away from taking the lead against the I
don't say it. Let me tell you what happened. We're
live from the tirerack dot Com Studios. Tonight show brought
to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable.

(27:41):
Get a multi policy discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat,
ATV and more all your protection in one plays bundle
and save at Progressive dot Com. Well, when we last
left you, it was Wilson to Wilson for a touchdown.
Aaron Rodgers obviously out for tonight, potentially could be out
a long time after being injured on the fourth play

(28:01):
of his Jets debut and ankle injury. It could be
an achilles, it could be many things. We won't know
until tomorrow. Hey, I'm not here for your speculation. Uh yeah,
that was a real being a guesser. Scott Van Pelton
Adam Schefter certainly had a back and forth and half time.
But the thing is this game never got away from
the Jets. Zach Wilson just through a three yard touchdown

(28:22):
pass to Garrett Wilson to tie the game at thirteen. So, okay,
here are the Bills now with the football. Their game
is tied. There's like four minutes left to go, and
what's gonna happen. Well, first play, Josh Allen decides, are
you gonna fumble this ball and still try to get
a first down?

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Tom more than at Indianapolis. The offensive play here then
changes gets hit through the wars loose and it was
a little like that It was a little like that.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
The Bills have the ball first down and they decide,
they decide, let's get the ball to Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
See what he can do. Couldn't tell if it was
maybe gonna be a designed run.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
Like a quarterback draw. I could have been a quarterback draw.
But he loses the handle on it came up high.
It did come up high. It looked like the snap
took him by surprise. And this is what happened.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Josh Allen takes the snap, fumbles the football. It's loose
and the Jets may have it.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
He locked the snaff went towards the lone.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Of scrimmage, lost it. The Jets have a takeaway. It
looks like Quinn Williams recovered the fumble.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Take away number four. Get those fours up four for
the Jets. Two Jets Radio network Bob was shooting on
the call. The Jets get the football back. They just
went for it on fourth and one, actually fourth and
about a third of a yard. It looked like I
was gonna say that that was maybe that's the old
It was like a junior hot dog.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
That See like there's a few there are a few
chain links short of the first net Jets facing a
fourth and one at the Bills twenty yard line. Zach
Wilson with the rush for the first down. The Jets
now have a new set of downs. Bills are gonna
have to start using their timeouts. We are down to
the two minute warning. The Jets are facing a second
and ten from just inside the Bills twenty. They are

(30:11):
a field goal away from taking a lead in a
game where they lose Aaron Rodgers on play number four.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Give me this defense, Breese Hall and the Zach attaf
You don't need anything else.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Don't forget that. Hey, hey, don't forget Dalvin Cook. Right,
this could be one of those seasons where the Jets decide, well,
Breeze Hall is gonna get it twenty times a game,
so is Dalvin Cook. But we're playing great TV today, right,
it's nineteen eighty five.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
That's how they're gonna try to wast go back and right.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
Obviously, Chris Jones is coming back for the Chiefs, but
he wasn't there for the opener against the Lions. What
did the Lions do? They did wing the ball all
over the place. Now, Goff had himself a decent game.
What was it like two ord and fifty yards a
couple of scores, but you had twenty eight carries between
Montgomery and mister Gibbs. There's your formula for success. Yeah,

(30:57):
nineteen eighty five.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
Just like keep guys off the three the football, we're gonna
re each guy's gonna carry that twenty times.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Yeah, Prescott, how you doing over there?

Speaker 4 (31:04):
How's it feel to me standing there stalking waiting for
an opportunity to get on the field. That's how you
play football. And then Zach Wilson with that bullet to
Garrett Wilson, that's how it's gonna. Look at the box score, you.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
See Druvon Diggs and Huddles, me going, how come they
won't throw the football?

Speaker 2 (31:19):
They don't have to. Why don't they throw the fop?

Speaker 4 (31:22):
Well, it's funny, right, So I do the Sunday morning
show Fox Football Sunday with Bucky Brooks, and he is
coaching a high school team. You know how many passes
they attempted each of the last two weeks. Run the ball,
Run the ball until you stop me. I'm running the ball.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
I'll tell you. I don't know what to think right now.
My emotions are all over the place. I'm so giddy.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
I'm waiting for the for the the the feel bad
of Rogers tomorrow. But the game is still here for
us now. But I also still think this could be
another heart wrenching game that ends the season Week one
if they somehow don't win this game, because right now,
the math has to say the Jets have an eighty
seven point nine chance right now, facing second and ten

(32:02):
inside the Bills twenty yard the Bills's gonna have to
start using their timeouts now because the Jets can. If
they don't, the Jets can take the clock all the
way down. So at the very least, I'm thinking field goal.
Bills get the ball back, not a lot of time left.
Can they keep them out from kicking five throw.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
It up randomly down the wall of the field, or
if the Whitehead can get.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
His fourth or because it's the Jets, they could miss
the field goal and Alan takes them down and there's
not enough time to get the kicker on the field,
so Allan kicks a fifty yard field goal to win
the game. Alan like that could be. That could be
how it works for the Jets. That could be how
it works.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
I'm trying to find the win probability, since I love
that so much.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
They don't have those on the Jets thirteen thirteen Right
now again, just inside the two minute warning. Tonight show
brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy
and affordable. Get a multi policy discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat,
ATV and more all your protection in one plays. Bundle
and save at Progressive dot Com. I mean, I'm all

(32:57):
over the place. I have no I have no idea,
I have no idea how to think right now. I'm
excited the Rogers injury happened. I'm all over I know.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
I mean that that's in the past right now. This
game is there for the taking.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Yeah, no, I know, I know, I know. It's just
it's it's you gotta leave him behind. I know he's
not there for you.

Speaker 6 (33:15):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Dalvin Cook gains about four up the middle, so it's
third down for the Jets.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Bills call of time out. We have more on the
game of the week, the game of the year in
the NFL. Come keep it right here. This is Fox
Sports Radio.
