But today, if you needed any more evidence that the
Jackson Dart era was coming to a theater near you
sooner than anyone expected. This is if Jackson Dart was

a movie, it would be, Hey, here's the thing. It's
it's probably gonna be a limited streaming show that we're
gonna release sometime in a year or two. Then it
turns into all there seems to be some interest in it.
Maybe it's gonna be a streaming show. We get a
whole season, we're gonna just you know, drop it all
at once in the middle of the summer. Then it
would be wait a minute, Jackson Darts even better than

we thought. This is gonna be a new streaming show
that we're going to drop one episode at a time
in the spring when it's gonna really give us some
legs into the summer. And then it's gotten so good
that no, you know what plans on that that's out.
It's now gonna be a movie that we're releasing in
theaters at a at a good time, not like we're
gonna drop it like some kind of crazy ass, you know,

middle of the summer thing when people don't go no, no,
We're gonna drop this thing right before Academy a season
in theaters only that's Jackson Dart.

You have truly upset the apple cart in a whole
other way because you just described in reverse how this
whole movie and television business has changed over the last decade.
Once upon a time, what was a nice project that
looked like a little theater production brought to the big screen.

I knew when the Bear decided to do that. Here's

Bear has been awful for two years now. Anytime you

entire plot of an entire streaming season in less than
eight seconds, you know that's a bad show man.

They are fooling everybody.

right the menu, as we've long talked about in this world,

have played tonight have thrown a touchdown, including Phil Simms,

behind him, both what we see on the field, what
we've heard about him at practice, what the Giants are

going to try to squeak in this is we're starting over.
Dart is a first round pick. We've talked about it

many times. Right, we said Dart's gonna start by the
beginning of October. Russell Wilson's going to be on the bench.
Because Russell Wilson is cooked. He'll look good a little bit.
But in the end, the desire to see Jackson Dart
play after the first month is going to be too much.
And Brian Dable Joe Shane want to save their jobs.
They want to show that we're the guys to shepherd
this new era of the Giants through with Jackson Dart

and Scataboo and Tracy and Malik Neighbors and maybe Greg Dalton.
So we want to be those guys. Now you've heard
us say this, right, But now how about something a
little bit different tonight right, give you something little bit
different on this I've told you that Russell Wilson, this
is me the last year of his career and he's
going to end it on the bench of the Giants,
Which is kind of sad thinking about when you have

a guy that's a borderline Hall of Famish kind of
career that's won Super Bowls, that has been great for
so long, it's kind of tough, right, It's tough to see.
But now I'm gonna give you something different because Jackson.
Dart has pushed this timeline up from middle to the
later part of the season to now to gonna be
like after the first four weeks, right, and nothing short

of a three and one start by the Giants is
gonna keep Russell Wilson a quarterback. And the Giants aren't
starting three and one. I'm now gonna give you greater
odds that Russell Wilson finishes the season as the quarterback
for another NFL team then he does on the bench
for the Giants, because this change is gonna be made early.

Dart is not going anywhere if it's a lost season
your first round quarterback plays the entire season, You're not
gonna sit back and say, hey, we'll go back to
Russell Wilson at some point. So he's gonna be the
quarterback by October, and then Russell Wilson's gonna be the
sought after guy at the deadline for a team because
you know, quarterbacks get injured all the time. What we know,
sixty guys are gonna play this year. So that team

that loses a quarterback that doesn't quite have what they
need behind them, hey, maybe we need a steady guy
that doesn't have to play the whole season. We just
eat him for five or six weeks and Russell Wilson
can come in learn the system.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
After a week.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
You know, I bet we'll like to see that moon
ball a little bit before you know, he winds up
falling apart again. But we we will try to get
something out of him for the last five or six
weeks of the season and squeak into the playoffs because
that's going to happen. Quarterbacks get hurt, all kinds of guys.
Two guys per team start a year, right, that's just
how it goes. Better chance Russell Wilson ends the season

on another team than he does with the Giants.

Yea, I'm gonna give you a full credit because uh,
I mean, it's like you hit the bonus phrase that
pays by getting moon ball into the discussion because it's.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
The only I scream Russell Wilson.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Remember, but when he took over with Pittsburgh last year,
what was the first thing they said, Well, he could
throw the moon ball, something that Justin Fields can't, and
he hit out a coup. Yeah, not enough to keep
George Pickens happy, but that's fine. You move on, and
certainly there's going to be would be contenders that get desperate,
somebody gets hurt, they look at their backup. As this
goes back to our conversation in Chicago about liking Tyson

Bagent and just paying him because he's happy to be
there and all the excitement, all the emotion, go back
and listen to the podcast for all that. But there
will be a team that somewhere in the NFL that
it thinks they're going to make a push, Like we
watched with Major League Baseball at the trade deadline, a
couple of teams got pretty active. Do they have a
real snowballs chance in hell? No, but they're at least

fishing around the second or third wildcard.

So you have.

Hope, and hope's a dangerous thing, but it also may
lead you to the Promised Land if things break your right,
your way and other injuries and issues before your opposition.
For Russell Wilson, I think we saw enough last year.
I mean, he's not done. Is he a guy that
I want to give the keys to full time?

And here with the Giants, as we've elaborated these last
couple of weeks talking about this, you got a tough
slate right off the jump at Washington at Dallas.

Week five is a road trip to New Orleans. So
it is set up perfectly. And we've talked a lot
about the dable and shame thing and all the stats
that keep getting thrown up for Jackson. Dart at the
moment has not been too big. He's led a bunch
of touchdown drives. He's got good mobility, good escapability, all

of that. You've got a couple of young players around
him that can play. Whether Dulcic becomes a guy that's
useful again, I don't know. But it's nice to have
extra options in your passing game, no question about it.
Tight end can become your your best friends as you're
a young quarterback. But all of that to say, you're
over under his five and a half wins. You're not

expecting greatness for the season, so at least show strides,
and you're not doing that with Russell Wilson.

Just think about that NFL on Fox, that that promo
that you know someone's gonna be reading week four Da
dada da da and next week and I'll do it
like Marv Albert And next week the Jackson Dart Tyler
Shuck showdown the Giants and the Saints one o'clock the
National Game here on Fox.

got to find a way to get someplace else because
he is not gonna want to finish his career on

the sideline, and it's gonna be an easy thing where hey,
we've made the turn to Jackson Dart. Another team needs you,
other team, so let's get me there. Because the last
thing that I can envision for Russell Wilson is him
sitting on the sideline for the better part of the
season with the you know, with the with the winner,
because you can see him right with the with the

with the wool and cap on, right with the big giants, uh,
the big with his hands in his pockets, you know,
giving giving advice to Jackson Dart. That's not how, That's
not how Russell Wilson should end his career. Right, He's
got to end it at least on the field one
one way, shape or form, or be dragged off the field.
Right that that's how, that's how it's got to end.
You gotta be able to call the end and Wilson.

the Yankees, every day they just try to do enough

near the end, knowing that the Steelers, he's just trying
to hang on, knowing how it's going to end. I
had that sense a month ago. Look, everybody's kind of done,

when the games count, we go where the stories are right,
we go to But Aaron rodd this preseason, I think

there's many more things to care about, or basically we
just replace him with Shador Sanders. But Aaron Rodgers hit
his point of mass saturation with general NFL fan where
they know what. I really don't care to hear from
him anymore. Not because he said something controversial or he
said this on Pat McAfee's show, but just no, I'm
kind of done with it, kind of done with anything

going on with right, it's been a long time.

fast and then we're just kind of done, right like

all anybody could talk about.

Then eventually we're just gonna be okay, you know, we're
done and going on to somebody.

truths are. That's great and for segments of our society
and now deep thoughts like he's Jack Handy have at it.
From a football standpoint, I was curious to see what
he do with your jets. Unfortunately, year one we got cheated.
All we got was him carrying out a flag and
that was the end of it, which meant he had

a lot of time on his hand. And then last year,
well clear it didn't work. Now, once they brought in
DeVonta Adams, Hey, the offense clicked at times and there
was some excitement. Doesn't translate to an he wins, but
at least some serviceable work. Now with Pittsburgh, I like
that it's just go back to work and just try
to put something together, whether it's respect of what Mike
Tomlin is as a coach and what the Steelers organization is,

or also realizing that the sand in the hour, glasses
running out, and that this is your last, best, only
chance to go out a winner and to have some
redemption to what was once the man this guy is
one of the greatest quarterbacks we've ever seen, to what
became a side show right because go back five years ago,
whether you liked him or not, like the guy himself

and what you'd heard coming out that all of a sudden, well, yeah,
now we're actually getting to winning time best.

gonna release sometime in a year or two. Then it
turns into all there seems to be some interest in it.
Maybe it's gonna be a streaming show. We get a
whole season, we're gonna just you know, drop it all
at once in the middle of the summer. Then it
would be wait a minute, Jackson Darts even better than

we thought. This is gonna be a new streaming show
that we're going to drop one episode at a time
in the spring when it's gonna really give us some
legs into the summer. And then it's gotten so good
that no, you know what plans on that that's out.
It's now gonna be a movie that we're releasing in
theaters at a at a good time, not like we're
gonna drop it like some kind of crazy ass, you know,

middle of the summer thing when people don't go no, no,
We're gonna drop this thing right before Academy a season
in theaters only that's Jackson Dart.

You have truly upset the apple cart in a whole
other way because you just described in reverse how this
whole movie and television business has changed over the last decade.
Once upon a time, what was a nice project that
looked like a little theater production brought to the big screen.

Put it to and then eventually down to streaming. I mean,
you saw what they're doing with The Office spinoff, and

just decide you're in.

I knew when the Bear decided to do that. Here's
bad seasons coming up and they're gonna be dressed up

Bear has been awful for two years now. Anytime you
drop all the episodes at once, I know it's bad.

And the people doing the Bear to like, wow, we
are fooling Hollywood. Man, I can't get over all the
people that don't know what they're talking about, saying, look
at the gorgeous shots we have in this and look

entire plot of an entire streaming season in less than
eight seconds, you know that's a bad show man.

play after the first month is going to be too much.

They want to show that we're the guys to shepherd

gonna keep Russell Wilson a quarterback. And the Giants aren't
starting three and one. I'm now gonna give you greater
odds that Russell Wilson finishes the season as the quarterback
for another NFL team then he does on the bench
for the Giants, because this change is gonna be made early.

Dart is not going anywhere if it's a lost season
your first round quarterback plays the entire season, You're not
gonna sit back and say, hey, we'll go back to
Russell Wilson at some point. So he's gonna be the
quarterback by October, and then Russell Wilson's gonna be the
sought after guy at the deadline for a team because
you know, quarterbacks get injured all the time. What we know,
sixty guys are gonna play this year. So that team

that loses a quarterback that doesn't quite have what they
need behind them, hey, maybe we need a steady guy
that doesn't have to play the whole season. We just
eat him for five or six weeks and Russell Wilson
can come in learn the system.

After a week.

You know, I bet we'll like to see that moon
ball a little bit before you know, he winds up
falling apart again. But we we will try to get
something out of him for the last five or six
weeks of the season and squeak into the playoffs because
that's going to happen. Quarterbacks get hurt, all kinds of guys.
Two guys per team start a year, right, that's just
how it goes. Better chance Russell Wilson ends the season

on another team than he does with the Giants.

Yea, I'm gonna give you a full credit because uh,
I mean, it's like you hit the bonus phrase that

will be a team that somewhere in the NFL that
it thinks they're going to make a push, Like we

real snowballs chance in hell? No, but they're at least

expecting greatness for the season, so at least show strides,
and you're not doing that with Russell Wilson.

did not see nor hear from Aaron Rodgers this preseason. Right,
this is the best the preseason. He did see that

Asked the fact that we have had so little conversation
about Aaron Rodgers this preseason is awesome.

I asked for it a month ago and the football
gods delivered. I said, hey, you know what, let let
for Aaron Rodgers. We can't do it anymore as a
as an as a football public, we are over the
Aaron Rodgers daily drama right now. He ran the fast
lane the last two years of Green Bay, his two
years of the Jets, Like that is something man like.

He had the fast lane for four years where he
was all we could talk about. But knowing that he's
near the end, knowing that the Steelers, he's just trying
to hang on, knowing how it's going to end. I
had that sense a month ago. Look, everybody's kind of done,
and we'll be back in when the games count. Because
when the games count, we go where the stories are right,
we go to But Aaron rodd this preseason, I think
(37:20):
there's many more things to care about, or basically we
just replace him with Shador Sanders. But Aaron Rodgers hit
his point of mass saturation with general NFL fan where
they know what. I really don't care to hear from
him anymore. Not because he said something controversial or he
said this on Pat McAfee's show, but just no, I'm
kind of done with it, kind of done with anything

going on with right, it's been a long time.

I've heard it.

I know what he's about, whether you want to talk
about him on the field or his vaccine stances, whatever
it was. We've kind of had it with Aaron Rodgers.
Now when it gets on the field Week one coming
up in twelve days, Hey, all right, let's get ready
to go. This is where let's see the rotten. You know,
everybody is waiting for him to fail. That's the general
general sense of an NFL fan. But it's so good

that we have had a preseason that has been bereft
of Aaron Rodgers talk because we are we are now
like we do in this country. We are hot and
heavy on somebody for a while, they're in the fast line,
fast and then we're just kind of done, right like
Sidney Sweeney's in the fast lane right now, Sidney Sweeney
all anybody could talk about.

That's gonna happen.

Then eventually we're just gonna be okay, you know, we're
done and going on to somebody.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
Case in point, they'd put out a movie that was
in the hopper for a good two years. It was
in theaters a week on.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
But all of that say, like you and I had
many a discussion behind the scenes over Aaron Rodgers because
I was done with him. I think a long time
before you were okay, but.

I didn't think.

I didn't think he I mean also you also had
a lifetime of him tormenting you. Yea in but like
whenever he would chirp on McAfee or whatever, like most of.

It is like I don't care.

He can spout off whatever his theories are, whatever his
truths are. That's great and for segments of our society
and now deep thoughts like he's Jack Handy have at it.
From a football standpoint, I was curious to see what
he do with your jets. Unfortunately, year one we got cheated.
All we got was him carrying out a flag and
that was the end of it, which meant he had

a lot of time on his hand. And then last year,
well clear it didn't work. Now, once they brought in
DeVonta Adams, Hey, the offense clicked at times and there
was some excitement. Doesn't translate to an he wins, but
at least some serviceable work. Now with Pittsburgh, I like
that it's just go back to work and just try
to put something together, whether it's respect of what Mike
Tomlin is as a coach and what the Steelers organization is,

or also realizing that the sand in the hour, glasses
running out, and that this is your last, best, only
chance to go out a winner and to have some
redemption to what was once the man this guy is
one of the greatest quarterbacks we've ever seen, to what
became a side show right because go back five years ago,
whether you liked him or not, like the guy himself

and what you'd heard coming out that all of a sudden, well, yeah,
now we're actually getting to winning time best.
