Speaker 2 (00:24):
Listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Greetings, Welcome inside, Happy Thursday, The Jason Smith Show with
my base friend Mike Harmon hobo live from the Fox
Sports Radio studios.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
For over forty years, Tirerack's been open.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Customers find the right tires for how, what and where
they drive, shipped fast and free, backed by free road
hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation
tirerac dot com. He is the way tire buying should be. Well,
if you had the over on Thursday night football, and
let's said, you probably got some pretty good action on it.

(01:02):
Because Davis Mills is one of the quarterbacks. You're feeling
pretty good right now. Mike Harman twenty to sixteen. The
Texans have the lead as we start the third quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Forty three and a half was your total.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
But remember just the other night, we thought it was
cash early on on that forty nine and a half,
and instead you got a bunch of kneel downs and
away you go with a forty nine total. But Davis
Mills picking up and putting up some pretty good numbers
here in the first half overall, missed some early throws

(01:34):
eleven of twenty one, not exactly the efficiency, but taking
advantage of some opportunities late in the half, finishing in
that final minute with another touchdown that Montzi told you
about and give you the four point lead over the Bills,
who had their injuries scare early as Will Anderson and
Josh Allen met each other and Josh Allen was a

(01:56):
little slow to get up.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Fortunately all it was was a raspberry on his arm.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
What it was all said and none, but the broadcast
paused for a second car Please God, no, this could
shape the rest of the playoff. Now, just really the
Texans before we get to the Bills. Like, I've always
had a sauce spot for Davis Mills, and you know,
coming out of Stanford third round pick, you thought he
was gonna be maybe the next I don't want to

(02:21):
say star quarterback, but someone who, hey, here it is,
you know, someone that wasn't a top ten pick that's
gonna come in and have a big career in the NFL.
And I always I feel so bad because one of
my one of my best friends, I've coached him for
a long time and he's a huge card collector. He's
a huge memorabila guy like you. And like three years
ago when Davis Mills was gonna be the starting quarterback

(02:42):
for the first year with the Texans, and he said
to me, ah, you know, I'm looking for some you know,
I really you know, who are some good guys I
can I can invest on that I can get stuff
really cheap on and and and that may be able
to pay out for me. And I said, oh, you know,
I like this year. I swear telling you I like
Davis Mills. Right, there's not a lot of not a
lot of buzz about him, but the Texans are coming.
He's pretty good. He was pretty good in college. So

(03:03):
he bought like one hundred dollars worth of Davis Mills cards, right,
so he can then he find like a couple that
were signed. Whenever we bought like one hundred dollars worth
of him, and whenever I see him, he never fails
to bring up oh hask oh, hey, hey do I
play Davis Mills in Fantasy this week? Or hey, how
much do you think of Davis Mills autograph twenty twenty
two Stanford card Like he always every single time he

(03:26):
brings it up right, Davis Mills, Davis Mills. So when
he threw that second bleeping touchdown that night, I texted him, hey, blanker, blanker,
Davis Mills, two touchdowns. I sell your Davis Mills cards
right now, Harmon does. Harmon sells stuff. After a guy
has a positive gain of fifteen yards, he tries to
sell the guy's card. Gotta keep it now, that's it,
sell it right now. Potential for a third straight win.

(03:46):
This would be a huge one on Thursday night. Resplendent
in those red uniforms. Those are kind of odd, but
I love the helmets as they try to take down
the bills and upset the Apple card here for the playoff. Look,
this would put them over five hundred. And you see
he's pushing the ball around to multiple players. We've got

(04:06):
Christian Kirk back in the good graces of fantasy owners
today and Higgins and all of the Iowa State guys.
Everybody plays, everybody wins. Right now, what's winning is the
Texans defense. Josh Allen with a very Russell Wilson like scramble.
He runs all the way to the left, decides doesn't
like what he sees, tries to turn back around to

(04:27):
the right, except he is run down by three members
of the Texans defensive line. And so it's now going
to be fourth and a million. So the Bills will
be punting. The first possession of the second half goes nowhere,
they lose a ton of yards and look for the
Bill side, right for the Texans side. It's the way
the season started, very difficult schedule off the bat, not
nearly as good as we thought they were going to be. Hey,

(04:48):
a chance to stay in the playoff race with a
backup quarterback, showing you it can be done. They're playing
really well right now. But you know how good their
defense is, right Their defense is the best three defense
in the NFL. I'll tell you, Texans, Broncos and the
Rams and the Texas have been there all season long.
They're really causing a lot of problems because they're getting
after Josh Allen without having to blitz, and when you

(05:10):
can force him to run before he's ready to run,
you really disrupt that offense. Because, look, Josh Allen is
okay running, but when when he's taking two steps back
before he's even into his drop and he's got to
run to a side because he can't even stay in
the pocket, you are winning a lot of this for
the Bills, even if they win this game. Right, even

(05:30):
the Bills win this game, they started out great, James
Cook with a big forty five yard touchdown run to
start things off. The Bills are good, They're not great.
And I know there's a lot of that in the
NFL this year. There are a lot of really good
teams that none of them are great. Even the teams
that are winning a lot, they're not unbeatable. The Rams
aren't unbeatable, as good as you know how much I

(05:51):
love them. The Eagles aren't unbeatable, The Broncos aren't unbeatable.
All these teams at the top, and the Bills there too.
The Bills are good, they're not great. They they're just
missing that extra level that the Bills were at the
last few years. And you would think they'd be okay
with it, because well, James Cook has become a star
running back and Josh Allen is the entire show offensively. Yeah,
do they need guys to throw the football too? They

(06:13):
have a little bit of separation. Yeah, maybe it's Stefan Diggs.
Maybe he was the guy that needed there because you're
playing roulette with the wide receiver position. Kean Coleman's inactive
again tonight. They draft them in the first round last year,
he looks like a bust. Can he really come back
and be a part of this team? Dalton Kin kid
is injured, and you're seeing what happens when a good
team that decides to kind of stand pat, or a

(06:35):
team that was great last year decides to stan pat.
Going into this year thinking, Okay, the rest of the league,
we know what we're doing. We feel really good about
about the way we're building this team. You come into
this year when it's not good enough last year and
you don't make a lot of changes, you start to
come down a couple of pegs because the other teams
are gonna make improvements. They're gonna get more physical, more athletic,
they're gonna get younger, and they're going to suddenly be

(06:57):
teams that beat you, that nip at your heels, and
the Bills been a team the last couple of years,
it's been we don't want to upset the apple cart
too much. We kind of like what we have. We're
not gonna be Josh Allen Stefon Diggs driven anymore. We
were getting off that ride. Meanwhile, that ride was pretty good.
Just just guess any fantasy owner that had Stefon Diggs
or Josh Allen you up until they let him go

(07:17):
a year ago. That was a pretty good ride. Now
we're gonna try to revamp it. We're gonna try to
build like the Chiefs do with just going through our
wide receiver room every year, and that's not quite the same.
Josh Allen's not quite the same quarterback as Patrick Mahomes.
He's not quite that same guy's a little bit different
skill set. But the last couple of years I felt
like the Bills have been we're sort of treading water,

(07:38):
hoping that the rest of the AFC comes back to
us and we have internal improvements enough. We hope Dalton
k and Kaid becomes the next Travis Kelsey a tight end. Well,
I've been waiting three years for that. It hasn't happened,
and now he's hurt. Josh Allen growing as a quarterback.
What else can you ask the guy to do? Right,
I don't know if there's any more you can ask
for Josh Allen. So when I see the Bills, like, yeah,
the Bills are good, but defensively they're not quite the same.

(07:58):
They don't have quite the same playmate offense, and that's
not going to get it done. So even if they
win this game tonight, you know, hey are here. They
are now, you know, still fighting with the Patriots now
at the top of the AFC East. They're good, they're
not great, and I don't think that's going to change
for the Bills.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
No.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
I mean, we go down down the line, right, we
look at the defense. They come in fourteenth in terms
of total defense, you know, the only category that matters
hobody points allowed per game.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
And you could parse that.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Out to turnovers and run backs and special teams to whatever. No, no, no,
it's all just how many points do you give up
for the year. They're just plus one in the turnover
differential category. Not forcing a lot of issues, not being
able to get loose balls, and when we talk about
the receiving corps, I love that gave Davis comes back.

(08:44):
Gab Davis is not the guy he was three years ago,
and he's not a number one at that right. Dalton
Kincaid shows flashes now and again, but overall it keeps
coming back to Ken Josh Allen put the cape on
and carry this team along with his legs, as you
watched him do last week in that ridiculous run against Tampa.
But we've seen that this year more more frequently than not,

(09:08):
and even last year was an MVP year. You look
at his stats right now, a couple more turnovers, he's
absorbed more sacks, and that last one was kind of
dopey because you wanted to do the the berminism of
the excitable whoops and screams and whatever and fits with
it all. But it's it's all been on him, legs
in his arm, threading the needle to guys who are

(09:28):
number twos or threes on it. Pretty much any other team,
and Cook's been fantastic. It's a great stat from him.
That was part of the radio broadcast. I brought it
up with the guys. I thought it was kind of funny.
It's like, you know, with that run, he's the third
back in Bill's history to have three consecutive thousand yard
rushing seasons.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Third back in Bill's history. Oj Thurman Thomas Right, So
they do it reverse right, it goes Thomas pause.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Ojon Ojason, oh pause. That puts him in really good
company on the field.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
On the field.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Then there's like five seconds of dead air, and you
could tell these guys are just trying to hold It's
Marcel Reese and Cougar and they're trying to hold back.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Whatever. How do we feel that? What did he say
to that? I thought the Naked Gun did it the
right way.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
With the remake when they're all looking at their dads
on the wall, was well, no, one guy, he's ojing
nah nah no, no, no, no, no no, I'll tell.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
You to stay.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
You know if Old Captain Fred probably got a couple
of bucks out of that. I would think that if
you work on a Bill's broadcast, okay, and forty nine ers,
maybe a little bit, But if you work on a
Bill's broadcast.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Right whatever, Hey, all the stats.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
If you're the producer, you get in a meeting the
day before, two days before and you go over everything
you want to do and you say, okay, stats mentions, conversations.
What's number one rule? We don't mention O J. Simpson, Right, okay, good?
Everything else is good. Give me everything you got on
Joe Cribs. Give me everything you got on Joe Ferguson anything.

(11:03):
Give me, give me Andre Reid, give me whatever you have.
Give me Bruce Smith, give me anything you want. Give
me Steve Tasker, you even give me Scott Norrid. I
know it's painful. We can mention him. It's been a
long time. Who is stay away from Oh J. Simpson, right, okay, great,
And now here's the jo json or you mention him
and you gotta fill that dead air immediately. Otherwise you

(11:24):
just left it. I mean you're give it the audience
kind of a chuckle. Yeah, they gonna fill that like ayah,
and then they don't. They just move back into the
play by play. But all of it to say, for
the Bills, they've got a rough stretch. I mean, Pittsburgh,
whatever they are, Cincinnati, Joe Burrow, maybe no Joe Burrow,
New England, Cleveland. The defense will still get at you. Philadelphia,

(11:44):
and then your Jets to finish the season those games.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Uh, as you you wind out at the end of.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
December, why do I feel like everybody play? Every good
team with something to play for plays the Jets in
the next six weeks?

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Like how is that? Man? Come on, well, I mean
you get to play spoiler a lot.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
No, we just get to play. We're not spoiling anything.
Spoiler the Jets will lose every game. There you go,
giving play. I mean we know no one of the
games like, oh, hey that might be another Browns game,
we can win that one. No, it's like all the
teams that hey they're rising, they got stuff to play
for you. No, you get the Jets the rest.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Of the way.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Oh, that's wonderful. Then you get their best shot. Let's
see where we got it. We got the Ravens this week.
The Ravens all of a sudden fall suck.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Yeah, Dolphin and Kirk we all they kind of have
something to play for it all the Jaguars, Yeah, they're
gonna play for the playoff shore Saints. I think enough,
Okay with Saints, that's the game I'm hanging my hat on.
And then the final two weeks of the year of
the Patriots and the Bills.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Yeah, no, they'll forget about those two.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
No, this the Patriots at home though, Yeah, it doesn't matter,
does doesn't try.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
And no, no doub buddy.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
You gave me the same, so give us Tyler Shuck
may have four touchdowns, maybe win that game thirty thirty
seven to thirty five.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
That could happen.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Let me go back to the Davis Mills thing. A
hundred bucks, that's all he's in on.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
He was not bad.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
If he's only in for a hundred bucks, he should
shut up. He was in the card market, that's uh,
that's nothing.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
He is. I may be able to turn this one
hundred bucks and maybe at some day one thousand bucks. Ago.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Oh okay, No, instead like, how's your Davis Mills investment?
It's still I don't know, it's maybe seventy five dollars.
I'm like, okay, that's not bad.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Thanks for that.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
If you only lost twenty five percent, that means he
went high end Davis Mills. He did, because you know,
I mean that means he was playing around in the
flawless thing. Maybe there's a real uh piece of gemstone
in there that he can sell off to some gips well,
they've got pieces of rubies and diamonds in those cards.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
It is a gemstone, all right, It's no and not.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
There's no picture of Danny McBride, okay, all right, Walton
Goggins in there, So you're definitely telling me this was
not a righteous Gemstones conversation.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
That's right, James.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
No teen just exit out about a Fresco exit small

got more football on the way coming up next, FanDuel
had a rankings today that we absolutely have to talk about.

(14:25):
All of us have to talk about these fan dual
rankings that came out earlier today because boy, there are
hot takes. There are things I'd love to argue with
but I can't. There is that this may be the
best rankings of anything seen. Rankings, well, the rat ret well,
the rat rankings is either LA New York or Chicago.

(14:46):
And LA really is jumped in front LA rats really
or not there They're the kings of the hill right now,
exactly so. But this rankings Alex tie shirt. Yes, you're
involved in it. Yeah, you'll be involved in this. Well, yeah,
Monsey's involved in it.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Lead to lot.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
We have the fan dual rankings of this topic earlier today.
I'm still stunned by it. It's next right here, Jason,
I'm Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven

Speaker 5 (15:23):
Hey, we're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Seven pm Eastern.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
But here's the thing, we never have enough time to
get to everything we want to get to.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for. Yeah, you blubber list lame and me. Well,
you know what it's called over promise. You should be
good at it because you've been over promising women for years. Well,
it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we want

(15:53):
you to be a part of it. We're gonna be
talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk life
and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing about
something or we didn't have enough time, it will continue
on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 6 (16:14):
There you go, over promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen to over Promised
with Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon Still twenty to sixteen, Texas with the
lead over the Bills midway through the third quarter. Meanwhile,
headed it to overtime. The seventy six Ers in the
Bucks at one oh six apiece. We mentioned this because

(16:51):
Tyrese Maxi's got forty two going to ot. He and
edgecumb have combined for seventy five points tonight, because that
comes got thirty three, because I could do that math.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
And look, I know that.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Look the Sixers, they're a five hundred ish team, but
they're a lot of fun, right, They are a lot
of fun. I mean, look, they take all the shots
of nobody else. You know, a couple of guys that's
like barely making the double digits and shots taken, they
are just fun. Maxi is fun. This year, He'll be
an All NBA first team guy this year. I'm sure
you know, he might wind up leading the league and

(17:25):
scoring because again, he takes all the shots and he's
pretty accurate. He's now he's not a big volume shooter. Tonight,
seventeen out of twenty nine more than good enough. That's
a healthy volume. Four you he's got his forty eight
and yeah, ch come with his twelve. And then come on,
when I say volume, I mean like he doesn't take
twenty five shots to make nine of them, right, Like,

(17:46):
he takes a lot of shots, but he still makes
a decent amount of a league average or a little
bit better. You know that the volume shooter is like, Hey,
I'm gonna score twenty five points on twenty five shots.
How many shots are gonna make?

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Six?

Speaker 7 (17:55):
All right?

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Well that doesn't really get it done. But the Sixers
are just fun.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
You know, they'll be this team that this year they'll
have big highs and lows and and they let you know,
Joel Embiid when he plays would be someone. Are they
gonna trade him? They're gonna keep him somehow. But they're
just a fun team. They're a fun team to watch.
You buried the lead though you got twenty one points
on seven or twelve shooting from Paul George.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Paul George can still get He can still hit your
twenty points.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
No, no, no, but we have to we have to
acknowledge him when he actually plays in a game. Oh, okay, okay, sorry,
Paul George is playing in the game, right, and it's
it's positive.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
It's not a four minute and off he goes and
is not.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
No, he is not He's not playing your guy grind
he got a few minutes. McCain is back, so uh
see how his minutes ramp up over time and how
he fits into the offense. But certainly some young talent
in there along with the veterans, like Drummond. I was
like saying Drummond, because then I started thinking about different Well,
the world don't move to the bea to just one

(18:57):
drum Now. We also had to have an update out
of the Thursday and night football game.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
The back judge just came up lame. Yeah, I had
to be carted off. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Now now there's going to be some sort of officiating
moving around here because the back judge. Now, the back
judge's fine, the back judge is okay, had to be
carted off, and so now they will figure things out
after a timeout and get back to it. But you know,
the the first ring back judges out of this game,

(19:27):
you don't normally see there's here's a replay. It's like, no, no,
it's not of the play. And we're in the Fox
Sports radio studios. We don't have the al Michaels you know,
commentary out at all. But they're like they go to
queue up the replay and it's like, well, there's really
nobody there except for the official. It's like, oh, it's
the official.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Down, he goes.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Now, we'll have more on this game as it comes out,
as we find out what happened with the officials, but
as promised, and everybody's going to get in on this
conversation here because fan Duel maybe the greatest ranking that
I've seen in months, because no, you know, look, we
love rankings, we love lists. I think we're kind of
getting out of the list thing because the listings now

(20:10):
are just like hot takes on putting here are the
ten best movies of last year. I'm gonna put in
five movies no one's seen because it's hot. That would
be Oscar nominated films. When you say it that way,
where's five movies nobody saw. FanDuel ranked all the French fries,
all of them, all the French fries and fast food

(20:31):
across the country, and they have their definitive rankings. And
there's some stuff, absolutely I agree with some stuff. I'm like,
you gotta be kidding. Okay, Okay. Now it's a fanduelist,
so it's not like this number one, this number two.
This is a Fanduelist like top quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
In the game.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
You know, you know they're going cheering system. You know,
a cut above the best and it's a picture of
Josh Allen Patrick Wood. Then all the way down to
the bottom it's just the Jets and it's you know,
a picture of Justin Fields and toront Tailors. But for
the cut of a French fry, I mean that's an
important piece, yeah, them into the game. So nice play
of words by you. So here we are with the
definitive fan duel French fry rankings. And I would love

(21:08):
to disagree with number one. I'd love to I'd love to.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Be that guy.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
But ahead of all others, there is no equal McDonald's
French fries, and I'd love to argue with that, but
they've been the best. You talk about a dynasty growing
up when I was a kid, McDonald's and Burger King
French fries. I'm like, you gotta be kidding me, man,
it should be the same these by ken't eat these
Burger King French fries McDonald's of course, and they have
had a dynasty on French fries now for going on

(21:34):
almost fifty years.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Like here's the problem unapproached in fifty years yeah, but
here's the problem.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
The quality control sometimes, like all things fails, so you
get a mealy, soggy, terrible.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
Undercooked fry, which which is the worst.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Yeah, because they've got to go back around and you
either have to go into said venue or you gotta
go back in the drive through and say, you gave
me some really really suspect fries here. I'm always a
buscucially now they're like six bucks. Yeah, yeah, and you
can get him. You can always say well done, and
they'll always make him well done. Like if you do
that like that, I think you need to do on
a lot more French fries on this list. The guys

(22:11):
say well done, well done, well done. You can try,
but you may not be successful. Look, I will say
this because I want to see what everybody else you
know McDonald's at the top. The one thing I will
tell you in fast food, if someone else is going
to the restaurant for you and bringing it back for you,
do not get fries. They don't travel well. Fries do
not travel. If you want to get me, the guy
that's bringing him back is going to eat them. No, no, no,

(22:33):
I mean like by the time you get back, they're
cold and you really want to put them and heat
them up somehow.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
They don't travel.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
You want to get fries if you are getting them
on your plate and eating them at that moment.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
What do you have one of those Homer Simpson designed
with a toaster evidence side?

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Damn right.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
So that's my one bit of French fry advice. They
don't travel. Well, order something else and you get them
to come back. It's easier, it'll be hot at It's
one thing.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Yeah, mine is more.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
I don't trust the cleanliness of the hands of whoever
would be delivering him for me. Okay, Well, they're reaching
in and grabbing some of those fries and contaminating the rest.
You finish them up, Go ahead, finish them up, all right?
So where are you now, moncey? Where are you on
the French.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
Fries and hot garbage? Of a list?

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Hot garbage garbage?

Speaker 3 (23:17):
What are you talking? Always the first one? The wings
stop down at deep? I can't wait that? Oh no, wait,
are you are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?
Wing stop?

Speaker 1 (23:27):
You don't go to wing You don't go to place
called wings stops?

Speaker 3 (23:30):
I do, that's but I do. Okay, you ask me
my personal opinion.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
You go for wings garbage.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
You listen, you go to Red Lobster to get lobster.

Speaker 7 (23:37):
Not to get It's not my fault that wing Stop
has delicious fries.

Speaker 8 (23:40):
You're you're getting mad at.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Me that I like you, has wings.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Do you go?

Speaker 1 (23:43):
Do you travel to to an alternate earth to get
fries at Wingstop? Wingstop fries are the worst, They're the
out worst.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
You're legit on cracks and that's fine, and that's fine,
that's hey, hey, that's just like your opinion. There's not
enough ranch dressing.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
I could drown those fries in them.

Speaker 7 (24:01):
In Wingstop is the best seasoning McDonald's fries.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Okay, sure, sure.

Speaker 9 (24:06):
I mean when they have a stand at Disneyland for
McDonald's fries, they took it away.

Speaker 8 (24:10):
What are you talking about? I mean, that's gonna just
tell you what it's at.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (24:13):
And by the way, if you order well done, shame
on you. You're making everyone else wait and they have to
make an extra batch of fries because you want the
well done fries.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
I like that.

Speaker 8 (24:21):
I like the cries of McDonald's.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
The yo.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Then you just love Wingstop because Wingstop, you hold it
just falls right off.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Can you just cut a potato and put it in
a bag for me?

Speaker 1 (24:30):
I mean, come on, French fry wing stop looks like
a candy cane when you hold it up.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Is that it?

Speaker 8 (24:35):
How is in and out at sea? It should be
at the very bottom.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
Because in and out they're mealy. In and out French
fries are terrible, terrible.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
They should be at the bottom.

Speaker 9 (24:42):
They tastes like the cardboard are meal, just like the
paper bag for five guys. It tastes like what it's
served in.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Oh yeah, Look, there's for a lot of places that
serve French fries, like you would think they would be
better on them, right, But I want to say, how
can you not approach McDonald's in fifty years?

Speaker 3 (24:57):
Like I think that should be a movie like The Beginning.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Where's the tried to and then they put that coding
on things that you can leave them off on the
side for forty five years. If they're not changing, I
give Burger k In credit. At least they're trying, Like
they come up with all kinds of different stuff. I mean,
they're gonna they're gonna have meals celebrating SpongeBob SquarePants.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Man, How do you how do you top?

Speaker 1 (25:14):
We have forty seven flavors of vanilla ice cream. We're
gonna test them and the best one is gonna get
out there. Like I give them, you know, props for trying,
but how has no one been able to do it?
Like I want the movie to start where it's a
guy in a room and they're doing a they're doing
the uh like the beginning of blind Side when they're
going through all the different ways. Here we need the
West Coast offense to stop Lawrence Taylor, like the guys
clicking through the fries going we have to challenge McDonald's fries.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
I want to see that movie now. I mean talking
about just the origin story.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
I mean go back and watch the Founder where you
got Nick Offerman and it's got to be crisper now silent, higher,
higher temperature, low, lower cook time, silent. Through This entire
conversation so far has been Alex Tyscher, likely because we're
talking about fries and not something that can extend your
life if you eat it.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
So it is a potato. Where are you on this?
Where do you want me to start?

Speaker 4 (26:04):
What do you agree with the top McDonald's at the
top really yeah, because you're saying they're untouched, right, you can't.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
I mean you can't.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
I don't say like people don't handle the I mean untouched,
like the ranking. You're not close to me.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
If we're gonna go back to the nineties, sure, but
twenty twenty five are gonna say McDonald still has good
FRIESE you're crazy, dude, the same fries.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
No, they're not well they are. That makes sense because
they don't decompose. I get that. Okay, So wait, so wait,
if you travel through time and you and you you
know something that we don't.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
I'm just saying that if you think McDonald's fries are
the best, you might want to just try other fries.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Give me something that's better, Give me one that's bout easily.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
MONSI brought fries slap McDonald's fri Are you guys crazy?
I'm crazy, guys.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
I mean I can get on board the RB's curly
fries with the season now.

Speaker 8 (26:47):
They're the best freezerction.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
They're just thin and skinny, and they have sometimes too
much oil. Sometimes I don't salt, but they have too
many ingredients. You can taste it. It's not good.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
I don't know if I go to the Jack in the box.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
I don't want anything else on the menu, so like
that got to stop just for Curly.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
I figure arazy anything else on the menu. Well, Manci,
how do you guys hate in and out fries? They're
literally the potatoes, salt and pet.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Every other fries you guys have brought up are mealy
and don't taste good. Talk del Taco fries they'll taco
fries are okay, secrets okay, But the better kept secret
is the burger at del Talk.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Yes, wow talk you talking about that? That is a
much that's a double secret. Yeah, yeah, you get that
Double Dell.

Speaker 8 (27:32):
They throw in a burrito and taco for free.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
You know the level of respect that I have for
for for the three of you with this conversation Lee,
I still have it for Moncy and Alex with this
crazy ass wingstop.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
What do you mean?

Speaker 1 (27:46):
I mean, all of a sudden, I see you differently.
I see I see you guys differently because I can't
I have to do a taste.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
You like fries that are absolutely awful?

Speaker 4 (27:56):
How are they awful? They're cut? Well, no, you can
tell they're good potatoes because they go bad quickly. And
the ranch.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
The inside, the inside of a French fry, the inside
of a French fries.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Do you like ketchup mic on her fries? You just
like fries.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
There's not enough ranch in the world that, not enough
ranch in the world, not not ketchup.

Speaker 9 (28:20):
Or now if you if you make animal cell fries
for in and out, then it goes up ranks me.

Speaker 8 (28:25):
But you can't do that with these fries. You can't
do chili cheese.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
You can't.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
No, no, just a regular fry because you you ramp
stuff up. Look shakeshack on the list in the second tier.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
Shakeshack fries, Chick fil.

Speaker 7 (28:37):
A, Chris cut fries are good. The Chick fil a
fries you don't get any dip in it.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Oh no, no, I'm still I'm still good. Fire and people. Right,
you can flick them in. And that's the best part
of dipping with the waffle fry is that if you
get good, thick enough ranch, it stays in the.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Pores and you get much more ranch per bite.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Like that's a really good thing, but you gotta eat
it somewhat quickly because but then when you get the
ones that sometimes will be the cross cut, and then
there's just the thin little membrane and potato, all the
bottles like all that holds it.

Speaker 9 (29:09):
In nice which got rid of that Girls Junior, which
I think is the reason why it dropped a d
because it was better back in the day when it
had the little bit of skin on.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Sometimes you get the skin on that.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
But I mean, but the fries that you guys are
talking about, it's like, I can't eat fries that look
like the inside of an uncooked shrimp.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Like that's no good. It's so good for anybody.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Eating like that.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Where everything when you're just mentioned are awful.

Speaker 8 (29:36):
In the game.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Actually see, I think they work for about three and
a half minutes that you look as you looking down
your nose on people, because it's not salted, it doesn't
have the oils. It's it's worked in and out there
you're set oil creepy, Yeah, because you probably took out
all the stuff that made it taste good and said
I'm gonna put.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
In this stuff that's gonna make it help crazy. Probably
did you probably change them.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
They will not eat a burger without their fries. That
says something I can't tell you. The last time I've
ordered fries like they're dining and stuff, but extra crispy
with the with the animal stuff. See more than extra
crispy doesn't work there. It's like you got to get
like nuclear crispy, like I would you to, you know,
fly this close to some test that's happening and then
bring it back and then maybe it's good enough.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
At when we do live in the state of California,
that's not hard to find.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
I can't do it.

Speaker 9 (30:26):
Speaking of California, a lot of this is regil. Can
you guys put me on game on any of these
that I've not seen. I've never been to McDonald's regional works.
Apparently there's a one down. What is crystal? I don't
know crystal.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Hey, hey, hey, still burd That's that's completely different. That's
a different prospect I've had.

Speaker 8 (30:42):
I've had water Burger, but I think that's overrated.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
The crystal ones are the blue color. Jesse Pintman makes
them blue for everybody. Yeah, yeah, the blue crystal. Yeah,
that's right.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Secret ingredients chili powder Uh yeah? Uh?

Speaker 8 (30:55):
Was it Jaxbie or Za Zaxby's had Zaxby's No, but.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
You start going cane Kens isn't bad.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
But I mean, really it's those are also, really mealy
are never cooked way overall. That's why I agree with
the top with with McDonald's mak at the top, because
there's no other eat There's nothing even close. There's nothing
even close. Like even you get to the RB's and
the curly fries, I'll get like there's one there's one
part of it where it all just coagulates together. It
looks like one super fry, like a vultron. Like, wow,

(31:21):
now I just got to eat all off the sides
of this. Yeah, but if you do the right thing,
you can animate that in the cool Ai video and
go viral.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
Uh yeah, okay, but he looks like Megatron. Yeah, but
then I got to eat fries that I'm not a
big fan. I'd rather have fries. Jason.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
I can prove to you that you are overthinking how
good McDonald's fries are. If I bought five different fries
that look like McDonald's and put them without like a
description of what's what, you wouldn't tell me which one
of McDonald's, Oh sure I would.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
It's like it's like the it's like the coke versus
PEPSI test from the nineteen eight Well that's different.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
Yeah, Okay, yeah, well this is a rc colup and
this is all PEPSI.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Look at dastes better the Pepsi challenge from the nineteen
eight promise you would get it wrong.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Yeah, I think I get it right. I get it right.
I get McDonald's right. Stop, Hey, what what's what it is?
In the in the in the red holder with the
yellow M. That's McDonald's. Got it.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
I'm telling you Jack in the box car, McDonald Burger
King and whatever else.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
You said that properly, Yes, Donald, you said it like
like like John Amos in uh in coming to America.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Everybody on the south side can promise you those five.
You're not guessing it. Stop stop.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
If you gave me other fries of maybe something I
haven't eaten, like that's regional someplace like Lee was talking about,
maybe you might get me there, but not stuff that
I've had that I know is bad. I don't not anything.

Speaker 8 (32:34):
They sneak in a few diner fries in here. Most
of the.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Diner fries are awful. All they're all made.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
They're not cooked enough, and again you just have to
drown them in ranch to be able to eat.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
French fries.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Eat the French fries and just give me like a
big glass of ranch. I'm gonna drink it. That's what
I'm gonna have.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
Rather have that drowned it. That's true.

Speaker 8 (32:58):
They do give you, well, at least they give you
a lot of it.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Yeah, give you a big But I don't even know
how to respond.

Speaker 7 (33:02):
What is? What is?

Speaker 1 (33:03):
What is Sam Jackson tilt vault in pulp fiction when
they're talking about dipping the French fries and manais I
seen him. Man, they drowned that blank. Yeah, that's how
you have to have it?

Speaker 3 (33:12):
All right? Well, there you go.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
You should catch up on Tulsa King because Sam Jackson
shows up.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Jason, I will leave you with one thing. Okay, next
time you ever get fries from somewhere. You don't like
trying with curry ketchup?

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Now see that if you mutate the ketchup. But I
can be on board. Is it?

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Steph curry ketchup?

Speaker 4 (33:30):
No, you just have to make it yourself. You have
to carry curry. But I'm just saying you do. Nobody
sells curry. Catch up and I got my own curry,
just so you know.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
I got I've got a couple of stores I'll get
just please. Yeah, I got a good place down by me.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
So while the French fry ranking debate continues, t NF
also continues, and Monte Belanos has what's trending in the
wide world of wingstop and Thursday night football?

Speaker 7 (33:55):
Yeah, in Costa Rica, back to French fries in Costa Rica,
it's uh and mayonnaise and the ketchup in Costa Rica
is a little bit sweeter than it is here.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
But mayonnaise is like you go to McDonald's.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Coucher mayonnaise, Like, that's not something that's been around here
for a long time.

Speaker 7 (34:11):
I can't go to McDonald's here and get a pump
of mayonnaise and a pump of ketchup.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
For my get a whopper?

Speaker 1 (34:17):
What's a special sauce in all American burger? Catchman mayonnaise?
What's special stuff for you? Thousand islands?

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Separate as a dip?

Speaker 8 (34:24):
It's not normal here.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Bus together.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
I just gave you fast time to Ridgemond High which
was nineteen seventy eight. Go back and look at that,
and that's Ketchman mayonnaise.

Speaker 7 (34:33):
Great nineteen seventy eight, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Like catchyonnise is brand new thing.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
No what she was talking about, how there's a sweetness
and a different.

Speaker 7 (34:42):
And also like so right now though, right now in
today's d and age, can I walk into someone and
get a pump of mayonnaise because I'm gonna dip it
in my fry.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
That's not around here.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
I need to go into Rby's. You get that at
arby Sure and Horsey Sauce.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Arby's and uh Wendy's.

Speaker 7 (34:57):
I don't like you, you know sins here up on
the bell right now, twenty three sixteen, late in the
third quarter for Thursday Night, Awelf of the NFL has
officially began the Buffalo Bills. It's been a rough second half,
just like this conversation here. It's been a punt, punt, punt, fumble, punt,
all of that.

Speaker 8 (35:16):
For the Bills.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
They are just chocolate, peanut butter. Your peanut butter's in
my chocolate.

Speaker 7 (35:21):
I like you. Houston is up right now.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Twenty three to sixteen.

Speaker 7 (35:24):
Davis Mills has thrown for one hundred and twenty nine
yards and two touchdowns. Josh Allen has not thrown a
touchdown pass. He has thrown an interception and has thrown
for one hundred and twenty two yards. My fantasy team
not liking what Josh Allen is doing right now that
zero zero. At least he's not just, you know, out
there running Cardio. There's something that he's doing. But there's
still a whole fourth quarter. Josh Allen is definitely taking

(35:45):
a couple of hits from this Houston defense. When it
comes to the NBA, all the games have wrapped up,
but it was a real close one in Milwaukee between
the seventy six ers and the Bucks. Philadelphia is up
or Philadelphia won it one twenty three to one fourteen,
and over time Tyrese Maxi fifty four points. The Grizzlies
crushed the Kings one thirty seven to ninety six. Also,

(36:06):
Kings are going to be without Demonte Sabonis for about
three to four weeks. He suffered a partially torn meniscuits,
so he's going to be reevaluated. Then the Spurs without
Victor I Banyama, defeated the Hawks one thirty five to
one twenty six, and the Clippers lost to the Magic
in Orlando one twenty nine to one oh one. James
Harden was the leading scorer of the game with thirty
one points when it comes to men's college bas skiball

(36:29):
down to the final four minutes and number fifteen Texas
Tech has a slight lead over wake Forests. Actually wake
Forest just tied the game, so Wake Forest at number
fifteen Texas Tech tied at seventy with about four minutes
to go. With about six minutes to go, Number two
Houston is just crushing Rider seventy seven to forty. Also
victories for number fourteen Saint John's, number twenty Tennessee and

(36:49):
number one per Due against Memphis. Memphis put up a
good five of Purdue one at eighty to seventy one.
When it comes to the NAHL, the Rangers and the
Avalanche are tied at.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
To a piece after two periods goal.

Speaker 7 (37:00):
The Knights are up on the Mammoth three to one
late in the second period and after the first period
Starts and Connects tied at two. Also late in the
first between the Kings and the Sharks, where the Sharks
are up two to one down. This fry conversation pissed
me off.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
Thanks so much of an see coming up next, we'll
have more fry stuff, but a big hot take on
a real life sports succession story from today that's next.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
Fox.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon. Now maybe you saw this story today.
Forget about the Murdochs and oh bait. We based the
TV show succession on the Murdochs. Uh. The Bus family
way more interesting than the Murdocks. Oh, hiy more interest,
one hundred million times more so. Absolutely, today the Lakers

(37:55):
fired Joey and Jesse Buss from their front office positions
with the team. They've been scouts for a long time,
responsible for unearthing players like Austin Reeves and Alex Caruso,
Kyle Kuzma, Jordan Clarkson. So they've had a pretty decent
track record, but Jeanie Buss's brothers. Now, these two brothers
are out. They put out a statement today saying they're

(38:16):
honored to have been part of the organization for so long.
They wish things could be different with the way our
time ended with the team. At times like this, we
wish we could ask our dad what he would think
about it all.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Jesse also went on to tell ESPN.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
Our dad's idea was for Joey and I to run
basketball operations one day, but Jeanie has effectively kept herself
in place. With her siblings fired, she continues to run
the team day to day while the team was sold
to Mark Walter. I don't think i'd put an end
date on her. No, right, it was an indefinite run
as governor. Yeah, because we still use that term now

(38:51):
and again. This is I mean, this is this is
real life succession. Where here we are, you know, where
all the siblings fighting for all this. It's much more public,
much more results. But I'd take this in a different direction, right,
because you know, I'm trying to think, like and I wish,
I really wish I liked Succession more.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
I you know, I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
The first five or six episodes, I realized I couldn't
stand every single character, and I'm like, I'm not rooting
for anybody. I can't stand these people. I can't watch
them on time. I just cheered for the old man
because then he tried to sell me McDonald's fries.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
As soon as I was done, botump bump, bump bum.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
I really I need somebody to root for on a
TV show. I can't just keep watching people. I can't
stand you didn't root for someone. I mean, it's really
hard man. Cameron again, Cameron came to Uh, it was
really hard.

Speaker 3 (39:39):
I mean, so I didn't.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
I wish I liked it more, but I didn't, just because,
like I couldn't stand everybody on the show.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
I did.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
But you want to focus on this, You want to
talk about succession, right, think about this for a second.
When you talk about the Lakers, and and and hey,
Jeanie Buss has been at the head, the helm of
this for a long time. Just think about this. The Lakers, Lakers, Yang, Keys, Cowboys, Knicks,
probably the biggest franchises in North American sports, all of them.

(40:08):
Twelve years after the owner of the Lakers died, their
kids are selling the team. Twelve years after doctor Buss
died twenty thirteen, they have to sell the team for
whatever reason, couldn't keep it, couldn't figure out a way
