Speaker 2 (00:22):
Let's give this. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Hello, Welcome in Side hour two, The Jason Smith Show
with my bes friend Mike Harmon. Where Monday Night football. Mercifully,
this game is going to end.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Yay.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
We're at the two minute warning. Patriots leading over the
Giants thirty three to fifteen. The Giants do have the football,
so they just eat touchdown on sidekick, touchdown on sidekickfield
goal end. The Giants can win this game.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah, that's earlier.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
We saw the Patriots have a Hunter Henry touchdown and
big celebration taking off the board for many people fantasy wise.
Oh yeah, and in the betting world they were really salty.
What it was called back because of an illegal shift.
Now the play was null the fot offsetting penalties eventually
the field goal, but at forty eight. You might be

(01:16):
in a very precarious situation right now with a little
thing called the hook, but you got two minutes ago. Yeah,
Jackson Dart right, Okay, you just need give your guy,
Jackson d You just need putting you. You're feeling you're
feeling optimistic right now. You're not feeling good, but you're
feeling you're still too. Damn Michaels would remind you Brett Musburger.

(01:38):
For many a year, they're gonna say, is Brett Michaels
would remind you, Well, every rose does have a sure Sure,
you gotta cry tough, you don't need nothing, but in
get time, you gotta give me something to believe in.
When I'm watching the last two minutes.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Of this game, have no question about it.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
So we'll have more in this game coming up in
a few minutes. Again, two minutes left to go. The
pages with a thirty three to fifteen lead over the Giants. Meanwhile,
everybody's favorite or least favorite college football story has come
to its conclusion. Lane Kiffin is with LSU. It happened

(02:13):
over the weekend. He had his introductory press conference today,
and the first thing to say before we get to
something you haven't heard all day and all weekend about
Lane kiffn Number one. The way this went, this is
so on brand for Lane Kiffin, right, so incredibly on
brand where I'm gonna take this all the way to
the end and I'm gonna play the egg bowl. My

(02:35):
decision is to leave. I'm gonna play the victim that
oh I wanted to stay but they wouldn't let me.
And then he's gonna say that I had no choice
to leave because I talked to Nick Saban and Nick
Saban told me to go. Wait a minute, Nick Saban
works for ESPN. I don't know that that's super legal,
but everybody told me to go. Okay, and miss oh,
miss is saying, yeah, we could have kept you, but

(02:56):
we don't want the playoff to be some sort of
crazy infomercial. Lane Kiffin, who you're gonna wind up bringing
there with you? And we had reports and he told
some of his staff, you're on the plane with me
to LSU or you don't have a job. And now
today more of Lane Kiffin saying, hey, I had to
do this, this was a move, I'm taking this step up.
He prayed on this. You know a lot of prayer

(03:17):
and you know, twelve million dollars a year. This was
so on brand for everything Lane Kiffin, one hundred percent.
This is this is how it should go. When Lane
Kiffin's taking a new job. This is how it went.
This was one hundred you. No one lied to you,
No one told this is crazy, no one said this
is something you don't know how much you want to talk. No, no,
this is exactly how you thought it was gonna go.
And that's all I want. I just keep waiting from

(03:38):
the bust out eighty year old Itzac Peerlman to be
his personal violinist behind him as he tries to sell
the sop. Wait a minute, traveling with a personal violinist. Yeah,
I'm gonna.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Tell it sad tale of how I was wrong. Yeah yeah,
start start play that sad music behind me. So I'm
thinking back to I'm Gonna get you, sucker. All heroes
have their own music. And that's exactly.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Like that thing looked like it was a jailhouse sad
set with Marty Smith to all the guys Saturday. I
was telling you I couldn't avoid it. I didn't see
it live, but all of a sudden, I go in
my timeline, I'm hanging out and.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
It's every third thing in my all. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
But but it was all of the I know, I
like the Ben Att with the ben Affleck cigarette cigarette. No,
that's a good one, but like all of the oh,
you know, the administration's gotta let him coach.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
No they don't.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
He quit, that's it. And anybody taking the encounter is
just taking the counter for the sake of it. Yeah,
Like it's idiotic to me at any level saying you
know what, Yeah, Okay, it's fine if you're gonna go
to an anonymous bowl game whatever, and and you're just
shuffling the deck chairs, that's fine. We're talking about a
team that's it's had a double digit win again, which

(04:56):
is what he's done many times as Old Miss and
his reclamation project. We know his long history and journey,
and now he's taking that step. Guess what, you stepped
out the door? The name plates changed the website. They
couldn't update that fast enough. Oh no, no, not at all.
That was gone.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, and George Clooney, you're either in or you're out
right now.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
That was both sides, and it was beautiful Kiffin strong
arming guys. The administrative the evil administrators, those terrible people.
I wanted to coach, I really didn't. Then why do
you ink that deal over? But that's the thing, look,
and it's not. It's not difficult to see because this
is who Lane Kiffin is. He's like Bill Parcells. Right,

(05:38):
he got to go back and explain to Jenerator Chason
Bill Parcels in a minute. Bill Parcells a great head coach,
but could only coach for a few years before he
got happy feet had to go someplace else. Right, you
go back to Lane Kiffin. Because everybody moves around you
become a head coach, things slow down for you. No, no, no, no.
Lane Kiffin goes from USCOC in two thousand and six,
right him in Sarkesi and that was when they were Hey,

(05:58):
the co OC's for the USC They were both so
good and sark has gone on to be a head coach.
Lane Kiffin went to be the head coach of the Raiders.
Then he was the head coach Tennessee for a year,
then head coach at USC for three years, then the
OC at Alabama, then the head coach at Florida, Atlantic,
head coach at Ole Miss, head coach at LSU. That
is one, two, three, four, five. He has had six

(06:19):
head coaching jobs in the last eighteen years, and with
that stint of Alabama's OC that really gave him that
second run, right, that second burst, RYE. Kiffin can still
be that guy. Six head coaching jobs in the last
eighteen it's not surprising that he left righting everything is on.
There is nothing surprising with this, right, it's a big
story that, oh, here's a head coach leaving and we

(06:42):
don't see this. Don't ever tell me we don't see
anything in college football we've never seen. We see something
brand spanking new and crazy in college football every day
because there's no rules, So don't tell all it's unbelievable.
But the thing that I want to get to that
no one's really talking about with this is that, Okay,
why LSU, Why why this job? I get leaving money

(07:03):
Ole Miss? I get leaving Ole Miss. I understand that, Well,
how many years are you really gonna make Ole Miss
into a college football playoff contender?

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Right?

Speaker 1 (07:12):
How many years is that going to happen? Hey, I
got my eye in the brass ring. I want to
get back up a little bit higher. I was a
head coach at USC man, I want to go.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
I want to I.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Wanted to be. That was what a disaster that was.
But like what but you could have gotten they were
to give him ten million dollars a year, they would
have give him a lifetime contract. He would have had
so much time to stay at Ole Miss and then
debate his next move if he wanted to. If he
wanted to go, he had everything you need. He could
have stayed. But again, happy feet. But LSU, LSU is

(07:45):
not a great job. You know you're getting You're getting
all sorts of interference from the governor that's getting involved
in Hey, we're talking about byes. And I love that
LSU's got money because apparently they have more money than
any school in the country because they can pay at
Orser and they can pay Brian Kelly. Now they can
pay Lane Kiffin.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
They'll be paying the Brian Kelly thing.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
And then all of a sudden they ca yeah, we'll
just pay him all right, he gets we're gonna bring
Lane Kiffin and we'll just give him the money. Right,
I mean, where do you have all where? I mean
I get it the year, but where do you have
all that money? But why LSU? This is not Lane
kiffen in a position to succeed. He is a head
coach of a ten and two team that is happy
to be in the playoff, right and near there, You
overachieved your here. This is what will be expected at

(08:26):
LSU every single year. You expect this from LSU every
single year. If this doesn't happen, how long until you
are fired? Two years? What's lane Kiffin? Apparently they print
money at LSU, and so it's gonna be okay, I
think and order it is actually on the money that
they're paying Brian Kelly off with. You see, they have
the money, they can do this. You went to LSU.

(08:48):
Are you really in a position to succeed there? I
get that you're gonna have expectations when you go to
the big schools, and I understand that, but you're going
you're going to another school in the same conference that
with a guy that went to a national championship game
in Brian Kelly O by the way, who by the way,
was a pretty good head coach and still is a
pretty good head coach, and he couldn't win at LSU.

(09:09):
He couldn't win enough there. You now have the parody
aspect of college football is so great that you now
have to worry about teams off the radar every year
getting an nil year together being able to pay guys. Hey,
you see some teams now they're going to be playing
in the in the college football Playoff that you wouldn't
expect to be there every couple of years. You expect

(09:32):
to be all the blue bloods all the time. But
now it's not. It's a bigger, it's a more. It's
a more. It's a wider landscape of teams that can
contend on a year to year basis.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Every year.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
It's not going to be a team like Indiana, but
there will be in Indiana or two every year. You've
now gone to a place where they are expecting two
losses at most at most and the playoff every single year.
And if that doesn't happen in two years, you're out
and you're trying to start your college career again someplace else,

(10:03):
a little bit smaller like Ole Miss to get back there.
I get wanting to leave, I understand, but this simply
was a job he took where he's getting two million
more a year, Okay, getting too many more? You Ole
Miss would have paid you, You would have gotten that money,
you would have been able to figure out your own
buy You would have called everything. I want the buy
out to be this. I wanted to be this. I
wanted to be this. You could have called your shots
and the next great opportunity that opens up. Hey, that's

(10:26):
the job I really want.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Now.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
I don't know what that job is going to be,
But in a year, who knows where things could be.
Michigan's job could be open in a year. Sean Moore
doesn't win next year with Bryce Underwood and he disappoints again,
guess what the Michigan job is going to be open.
That's a great bleeping job.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
Man.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
What if in a year from now, Ryan Day leaves
to go coach the Giants, right like, what all of
a sudden, Ohio State. That's an unbelievable job. There are
better jobs that would be open. I feel he jumped
to this job because, Hey, it was a chance to
go to a really good program, a step up. But
you go and put yourself in position where you can
fail really easy, and the expectations are gonna be way

(11:04):
too high. Feel I don't get why this was where
he went. Yeah, I think a lot of it comes
back to and all of you out there, whatever your
job is, whatever your career, personal aspirations are. Hell even
so much as going to take a trip and it's like, oh,
I'll get there someday.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Maybe you don't.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Right for Lane Kiffen, four double digit win seasons the
last five years at all Miss, everything's cruising along. Now,
Florida opens, Penn State opens, LSU opens in season. Right,
this weird convergence of events where you've got three massive
schools where suddenly the head coaching job and you don't

(11:45):
know if that's gonna happen next year, Like to your point,
it could. Dude's nine and three at Michigan. Has it
been a clean consistent year. No, he's still nine and three.
I mean that's still by most standards. And this goes
back to our Jim Harbaugh conversations of years ago to
pull the curtain back for folks when we were arguing
before the championship run of you got to recognize what

(12:07):
you are right just because you have a run up,
and you eventually got it with Jim Harbaugh. Those days
of Bo Schembeckler are really a long time ago. And
the Lloyd Carr Championship, that's a long time ago. There
was a lot of mediocrity and coaching churn before you
got back to where you're at. But the point is, overall,

(12:27):
year to year, you don't know when these jobs are
going to become available, and everybody has, you know, the
old seven year itch, five year itch, whatever your time
you know, timetable is sometimes when you've got it good,
you don't know it, so you've changed it. And no,
I'm not going to start singing Cinderella, but it's it's
just that idea that you've got an opportunity, and the

(12:47):
Florida ended up being a non starter. Right, we're seeing
all the reports of immediate discord with the powers that
being administrators there to where that became a all right
pivot kind of moment. Initially, LSU, you've got some new
people in charge and decision making, and you've probably got
a lot of promises about what you can have because

(13:08):
the salaries, salaries the easiest thing to match. It's everything
else that has to flow in the infrastructure whatever. To
your point, Yeah, within two years, the wolves are at
the door. If you're not winning consistently, you go and
get blown out by Alabama insert other team here that
wants to be your rival in the moment. Yeah, and
you stayed in conference, so you're gonna have an eye

(13:30):
over at all miss the whole time as well with
what they're doing. And this new nil world is still
being navigated right the inclusion of all these general managers,
all of this stuff, it's a new world order for
Lane Kiffin, he decided these were big jobs that were
available now, old Miss, he'd outgrown it, He'd had his reclamation,

(13:51):
his rehabilitation, whatever, and then he was able to try
to play victim. Now, you're not gonna get longer than
Brian Kelly. If anything's gonna be less tolerance for you
losing at LSU. I mean, yeah, a lot of people
that know Brian Kelly didn't like him, but nationally he
seemed to get a pass.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Yeah, whereas Lane Kiffin.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
There's a giant spotlight on you right now. I mean,
I get everything about Lane Kiffin accepted, Like, this is
the job you're leaving for. You see what kind of
a mess this is. This is the job where you
want to be able to go somewhere where I will
succeed here. And I'm going to get every single chance
I can to succeed. He can have three straight losing
seasons at almost they're gonna say no, no, no, But

(14:27):
look at how great it was. And we're in the
play off. Okay, I can bide my time because the
next great opportunity will be there, right, I'm not I
know that we can say, well, you know, maybe Michigan's open,
but maybe it's a different gig that's open. Maybe USC
comes open again in a couple of years. Hey, we've
got Lane Kiffin.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Coming back in to day.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
I hire him on the tarmac, right, But we fired
you here or hiring you here right on this spot.
But that's but that's the thing is that there are
great opportunities that are coming out every year. I don't
know what they are, but I damn well know that
there's opportunities better than what this is at LSU. There
will be next year, the year after. I don't get
why this that.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Tiger makes sense?

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Exit out about a Fresco exit, Swollman, don't. We got
more on Lane Kiffin coming up next, as well as
a breakdown of the Monday Night game that finally mercifully ended.
And I'm gonna say something about this game that absolutely
pains me. Oh, but it's gonna be fun. So that's
next right here, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon a live from the Fox Sports Radio
studios where we just watched mercifully the Patriots Giants game
come to an end again. The Patriots own from the
beginning paid that Giants made it. I can't say make
it interesting. They at least made it a two score
game early in the fourth quarter, but it ended a

(16:26):
three score game. Patriots win it thirty three to fifteen.
They improved to ten and two on the season. They're
now thinking about home field advantage throughout the playoffs. It's insane.
But let me say this because I've not said enough
good things about the Patriots this year, because listen, they're
overrated and they haven't played anybody good. But it doesn't

(16:46):
mean that I can't say something good about the Papers. Okay,
because the winning percentage of the remaining opponents, you know
what it is? Yeah, seven four hundred, Yeah, yeah, because
they got the Jets, the Dolphins, the Browns, ole miss
without Lane Kiffin Syracuse.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Yeah, but tomorrow, I mean.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
They're gonna get left out of the playoffs, right, We're
gonna get left out entirely. How many how many spots
are your coach worth? I don't know, I don't know.
I think Jordan Travis getting hurt. I disagree, but I
kind of get it a little bit. But you say
your head coach said, yes, sorry, you're done.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
He's got to be worth a couple of wins. You're done,
You're done?

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Uh now the good new Look. We'll have more on
Lane Kiffin coming up. But I do want to say
this because this is the most the best and most
accurate and fair thing I can say about Drake May. Okay, now, look,
are any of these teams he's playing any good?

Speaker 2 (17:43):
No, they're not. They're not.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Okay, let's just let but there is there is the
the flip side of it is that, well, who is
really good? Okay? I feel like Deepak choke bro, who
amongst us is very good? Who are any of us?
Let's ponder that for a moment to think, talk about yourself.
The team is the team isn't? The team they play
aren't very good? But watching Drake May play, you hear

(18:06):
this phrase all the time that hey, the game has
slowed down for this guy, right, the game has slowed
down for him, and and uh, you can see exactly
the type of player he is. And that's kind of
what I see with Drake May is is like it's
almost like a Mahomes aspect of Hey, when the when,

(18:28):
when everything is going crazy, don't worry, I got it.
And and the way Drake May makes the right decisions
on every play, He doesn't force the ball where he should,
He just gives you the the body language and and
optic that he is in control of every situation on
the field. Brady had that, and now I'm finally comparing
a quarterback to Brady. But the best quarterbacks all have that, right,

(18:50):
Lamar Jackson has that. All the best guys have that.
Matthew Stafford that hey, this game is this things are
crazy and and this team is blitz and they're getting
you know, they're getting a runner free and okay. But
Drake May always seems like whenever when the snap goes,
he's going to the right place with the football. He's
not going to put it in danger, and he's going

(19:11):
to continue to be dynamic. That That's what I see
from Drake May more than just okay, his vision down
the field for this is just overall just seeing how
he is, how he carries himself, and the body language
and the optics of him being in charge of every
play and being smart and not panicky. There's no panic plays,
there's no rushed plays, there's no happy feet in the pocket.

(19:33):
He is extremely comfortable in that in that by look
you see it now, guys like Aaron Rodgers who are
just backing and going, I can't throw it.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
I can't throw it. You see it now?

Speaker 1 (19:42):
For all these other quarterbacks who have been great for
so long, and Drake May just has that body control
that tells you I'm in charge of this. That's a
calming situation. It's something that the team feeds off. It's
something that verbel feeds off on like that. That that's
the That's the best thing I ca can say about
Drake May. And it's a great thing to say. I'm
not saying it's a best because I can't think of

(20:03):
anything else. It's just the number one thing that maybe
you haven't heard about Drake May. It is that just
seeing the way he attacks every down. It's not a
it's not a Jackson Dart I'm gonna grab this football
and throw it over a mountain like like Uncle Rico.
It's more of a yeah, the right plays are coming,
and I'm gonna have a surgeon's precision on making this
play and getting getting the ball down. Whatever we need

(20:26):
on this play, I'm gonna make sure we get. Yeah,
Jackson Dart will either throw it over the mountain or
run through it, depending on the circumstances. And it's fun
as hell to watch. You cringe every time he gets tackled.
What he takes and knead the head as he goes
to the turf, slides late, all of those things, doesn't
get out of bounce trives to steal that extra yard.

(20:46):
You're still young. You're not getting that call frequently enough.
Get out of bounce, otherwise you're gonna get broken in half.
But with Drake May, what we've seen is a guy,
the only guy with a that's played the requisite number
of snaps attempts games to this boy with a higher completion.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Percentage of Snoop Hunley.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
You're talking about a guy who's completing seventy one percent
of his passes at this point this year. Twenty one
touchdowns against six picks. Now you'd like to see the
sack total go down right, that negative yardage time and again,
but he's not putting the ball in harms way. He's
fumbled once, they didn't lose it. So six turnovers, twenty
one touchdown, throws over two hundred yards every game, and

(21:27):
operational efficiency and you don't have And I know Stefan
Diggs is historically a great one, He's not that guy anymore.
This isn't the guy that was dominating in Minnesota he
or at times in Buffalo. No, he's still a good receiver,
and you know the old Toby Keith line I haven't
used in a while. He ate as good as he
once was, but he's as good once as he ever was,

(21:48):
so he'll get you every once in a while. And
Hunter Henry's great when he's on the field. Mac Hollins
has been a good, good guy for the locker room.
Certainly he brings a lot of levity, but he's made
some big plays over the year. You look at the
two man backfield when Ramandre Stevenson. Hell, they actually had
that on the radio call. You know what, he's not
fumbling dot dot dot. It's kind of a big deal.

(22:08):
But between him and Henderson, you have two jailbreak guys
in the backfield. So now you've got good balance and
it doesn't have to be on his arm. He doesn't
have to play Superman. And we knew they'd have a
good defense. That's the only thing we knew coming into
the year, right, we expected improvement, and we knew the
defense would give them a good functional base. Everything else
was all right, let's see how it shakes. Schedule has

(22:30):
been their friends, but they've gone and obliterated a bunch
of teams. Yeah, right, they're not just winning by a whisper.
He's been confident, dominant at times, and some of the
throws to the corners outside the numbers are throws that
a lot of his contemporaries can't make. Yeah, I mean, look,
he's almost like he's come in. He's the Jaden Daniels

(22:52):
of this year, even though Daniels came in as a
rookie and was that good, you know, Drake may second year.
But that's kind of how much he has just burst
on the scene this year and all all of a sudden,
you're great. Wait a minute, there's no there's no learning curve,
there's no no, no, all I'm just great.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
How did that? I just am.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
I don't know what to say it. I got, I got,
I got the right head coach, right, I'm just great.
I'm just great? Right it Really, it really is something
to see him, to see him play this way. And yeah,
they don't have great weapons on the offense, but you know,
wide for him, but it doesn't matter. Look how many
times do you see And this goes back to the
heyday of Brady where the big play is a big

(23:29):
crossing play where you get used to be gronk starting
on the left side of the field and for some
reason he just runs all the way to the side
and he's up right. There's a lot of that with
the Patriots. Whether it's Pob Douglas or whether it's Stefan
Diggs or you know who, it doesn't matter. They have
They have some pretty good guys. It almost looks like
the old Patriots before they went out and started spending
a lot of money to go get Randy Moss. And

(23:52):
when they went out to get Randy Moss and West
Welch and all of a sudden things got got huge
for Brady when when they well, forget the cheating. I'm
never forgetting the cheating. You can't Having the plays is great,
you can't forget it. Maybe Drake may has the plays
already plays a time. Maybe he's just finally that breakthrough
North Carolina quarterback we've been waiting. But that was the
Patriots offense for a long time under Brady, the first run.

(24:14):
If you break up the Tom Brady era into the
you know, before they started spending money for the playmakers
and when he first came up, the first era of Brady,
every play for New England was a pick or a rub,
right everything was we get you off a receiver and
guys are open, and Brady's gonna find you and come
some kind of slant in the middle of the field,
coming all the way across, and then we break it

(24:36):
up enough so we don't get too predictable. Right, that
was the Patriots. Hey, that's what they did. Whether it
was David Gibbons was catching passes, it didn't Deon Branch
it didn't matter. Now later on in his career, Hey,
all of a sudden, here come the dynamic guys. Right,
and even Julian Edelman became really dynamic as he came on.
But that's kind of what I see the Patriots now.
They almost look like the Patriots the first run with

(24:57):
Brady where all their offensive plays. Hey, here's a wide
receiver who is gonna just kind of rub off this
dB and and come across it and he's open. Right,
there's not a lot of ten yard stop out Stefan
Diggs with the Bills, where it was you're one on
one and you're gonna shield yourself from the football. He's
a great physical receiver, maybe the best since Brandon Marshall

(25:18):
in his heyday. That I'm just gonna be able to
throw you that football and you're gonna make that catch
of fifteen yards. That's not the Patriots offense. There's a
lot of movement, there's a lot there's a lot of
one side of the field of the other. May's got
the vision and the arm to get the ball to
both sides of the field to throw outside the numbers
and that that's and and so there's a lot of
similarities there between the old Patriots offense first time around

(25:38):
and what they're doing now. But May is executing this
absolutely flawless, like they have no problems right now. This
game is absolutely no problem. We saw him drop a
couple of deep balls in and over the course of
the season. I mean, you're talking about a guy who
ranks third in terms of air yard intended air yards
per passity. So they are pushing the ball downfield and

(25:59):
even with the tight end we'll talk about a hunter Henry.
You know, there's a depth to the pass patterns that
we didn't see, and part of that is you drag
it out and give Henderson an opportunity, because if he
gets to that a second level, you ain't catching him.
Right with Stevenson, same thing, if you can pull back,
a little bit of the linebackers cheating up a little

(26:21):
less opportunity for him to fumble. So it's a very
well choreographed chess match at this point. But he's been unflappable,
I mean again, thirty seven sacks, so he's taken his
share of hits, but it hasn't been followed up with
the panic play or even on those he's not putting
the ball in harm's way. He takes the four yard sack,

(26:41):
six yard sack. Whatever it is, live to see another down,
love again, to see those couple of firing into the
fourth throw pick a random fan to to throw something at.
But in the interim, it's winning football. And in a
year where there's not a lot of great teams in
the AFC, interesting because how much do you love this team?

(27:02):
How much do you love the Denver Broncos You probably
you like him, maybe you're getting on board, but you're
still looking at some of your heavyweights saying if they
get in, it'll be hard not to put some duckets
behind them in a Lamar or a Josh Allen or
the not yet dead Kansas City genus.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
What do you got Frostburg?

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Just how good has Drake May been this season and tonight?
How good has Drake May been this season? And tonight
he's now the favorite for MVPO man. Well, Matthew Stafford
had that pick six, didn't help. No, sorry, we gonna
take it away from you. We gotta take it away
from you now because the favorite to win MVP. Right,
it's I mean, really, I get it. I get It's

(27:42):
Monday Night football. We saw him play really well. They
won again.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
They're gonna have home field advantage most likely in the AFC.
Stafford coming off the stinker, It's like, got we forget?

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yes, Stafford was so good. Yeah, but they lost to
the to the Panthers. Yeah, we gotta take him out.
I mean really yeah. It May was only trailing him
a little bit before this weekend. So now it flips
as we get to week fourteen and all that Jonathan
Taylor's the MVP talk that kind of went out the window.
We'll lose a couple of games and suddenly Daniel Jones
stinks again. That you know, But I mean, so good

(28:12):
things about the bad I got another great thing to
say about the Patriots as well, But what about the
Rake May and this all? I mean happy person. This
this mac Jones. Drake May is much more comparable to
Brady than mac Jones. Fine, fine, make Matt Patricia the
offensive coordinator for Drake May.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Let's see how good he is next year.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
Well there's but that gets into something good that I'm
great I'm gonna say about the Patriots in the bit
it gets into that bit.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Just wait, wait, chew that pencil Gyres.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Wait there's the full beard Matt Patricia, and there's the
clean shaven Matt Patricia. There's the offensive coordinator Matt Patricia.
There's the defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. Okay, just so you know,
is Tom Cruise's face behind your face?

Speaker 5 (28:54):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Time now to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports. But guy's been called the Matt Patricia
of Fox Sports Radio. If he shaved his mustache and beard,
no one would know who he was. It's Steve Desager
pencil behind the ear. Yeah, sure, hundred percent. The New England.

Speaker 6 (29:08):
Patriots were four and thirteen each of the last two years.
They have just won their tenth game in a row
this year. There was a stand in ESPN. This is
nearly the longest winning streak ever by a team that's
only won four games the previous year. The record is
eleven straight. And it's a bye next week for the Patriots,
but then they'll be hosting Buffalo and then at Baltimore.

(29:29):
But eleven and two overall, and they were up on
the Giants thirty to seven at the half, beat New
York thirty three. Fifteen. Giants have lost seven in a row.
So who are our one seeds in each conference right now?
In the NFL, it's the Patriots and the Bears. They've
had seating for the playoffs for fifty years in the NFL.
There has never been a season when both of the

(29:51):
one seeds had coaches in their very first year with
the team, Mike Rabel Patriots, Ben Johnson Bears.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
And it's very rare.

Speaker 6 (30:00):
The two one seeds in each conference by the end
of the regular season are teams that missed the playoffs
entirely the previous year. It happened in nineteen ninety two
at a couple times in the early eighties.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
And that's it.

Speaker 6 (30:11):
And you mentioned the air yards. Drake may great on
the deep ball tonight when he was throwing beyond ten
air yards, he went six of eight one hundred and
seventeen yards passing in a touchdown. He has completed the
most such passes in the NFL this year. Lions star
wide receiver i'm and ross Saint Brown did not practice
today due to his sprained ankle. Detroit plays this Thursday,

(30:33):
hosting Dallas. Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens was limited in
practice with calf and knee injuries. Lions defensive back Terry
and Arnold will have season ending shoulder surgery. The Vikings
cut wide receiver Adam Thielen as he'd requested. He was
a healthy scratch on Sunday and wants to play more
before he retires in about a month.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
HEYDJ. I want to tell you I had a feeling
this story was going to happen today and he would
get cut.

Speaker 6 (30:58):
TJ feeling Minnesota native. By the way, minds very nice,
very nice, Steve, though, very nice thing in Minnesota's quarterback.

Speaker 1 (31:05):

McCarthy is due to return from his concussion this week.
The team says he is symptom free. Running Back Aaron
Jones though day to day with a shoulder injury. Bengals
wide receiver t Higgins still in concussion protocol. Colts defensive
back Sauce Gardener will miss some time. He's called week
to week with a strained calf. Tampa Bay says injured

(31:43):
wide receivers Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan could each return
to practice this week. The Mets gave reliever Devin Williams
a three year deal. Closer Edwin Diaz is a free agent.
US women's soccer won its final exhibition of the year
two nothing over Italy in Fort Lauderdale. The Americans beat
him three thing on Friday. The FIFA World Cup draw
will be held this Friday on Fox TV from Washington, DC.

(32:06):

Remember Chris cornell, saying like the whole Looking california Feeling.
Minnesota because we talked about this a few minutes. Ago,
again you got a list of the whole show, true
and he SAID i remember him saying something Like minnesota
sounded to him like it was the coldest place in the.
World so that's why they need an opposite From california

(34:45):
in the. Sunshine so that's Why Feeling. Minnesota and then
he made a movie Called Feeling. Minnesota Keanu reeves And
Cameron diaz Right feeling that that was like they tried to, say,
hey let's make another, singles except we'll call It Feeling

and keep your wits about you WHEN i say. This,
OKAY i need you to understand that this is that
you can't go. Crazy and this is like WHEN i

want you to get in a frame of mind Where
i'm going to say something and you're not going to.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Just lose it or or just you, know tweeting bouts
around your. Head.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Right The jets are not going to The Super. Bowl,
no come, on, dude The. Jets give. Me let me
enjoy the day we. Won, okay despite the fact we
did all we could to not win that. Game BUT
i just want to say. This if you are The,
bears you are thinking Super bowl right. Now look what
you're doing Into. December you have the best record of THE.

(36:36):
Nfc the road to The Super bowl goes Through. Chicago
nobody wants to go play In chicago at the end Of.
January rams don't want to go do. It not even
the cold weather teams want to go do. It nobody
wants to go. There you have proven that you are
a team that can win any kind of, game no

(36:59):
matter what offensive weapons stands. Out maybe it's the running
backs one, day maybe the running backs are, terrible and
one week It's Dj. Moore Maybe Dj moore doesn't catch
a pass And Roma dunes adds a big. Day Maybe
Colston lovelin has a. Breakout Caleb williams is finding and
pressing all the right. Buttons The bears get all kinds of.
Turnovers the opportunistic defense is terrific because, HEY i know,

(37:20):
it while you're aloing on turn no forcing turnovers as a.
Thing just look at The, jets who still don't have
a pick through thirteen weeks of the bleeping regular.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Season, okay Special.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Everything The bears do is made for playoff football turnovers,
offensively with enough, weapons cold weather team can win shootouts
in cold. Weather they don't need the game to go
a certain way for. Them you can put a lot
On Caleb williams shoulders because he may not throw for
three hundred yards every, week but he's gonna throw for

(37:49):
Another he's gonna be dynamic, enough and the ball's gonna
get down the field and in the fourth quart of
a tight. Game Caleb williams has come through more than,
anybody even more Than Baker mayfield earlier this, year because
he's hit the. Skids if you are The, bears you
are thinking Super. Bowl it sounds like a hot, take
but it's. Not you are thinking Super. Bowl if you

(38:11):
are The, bears.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
It's a very strange place to be.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
In i'm not gonna get mad at you, because you,
know during The thanksgetting, holiday you, know WHEN i went
back and Watched Super bowl Twenty, well, NO i watched
That Super Bowl shuffle, documentary BUT i Introduced madeline had
never Watched home, alone SO i Watched home. Alone, okay

saturday At live. Once SO i pulled up the Super

(38:37):
fan sketch, okay where they were the little kids from you,
know dressed up for the First thanksgiving talking about you,
know smoking the pipe and talking about The bears Winning
Thanksgiving day games two hundred Years, simmons that's the halftime
score Of My friend where you Got Kieran.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Gulkin if it's.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
The hurricane or the hurricane's name Is Dick Hurricane dick
of forty eight Regular hurricane. Seven now we go through
the fun of The Super bowl odds twenty seven to.
One as we sit here right, now you're looking at
a rushing attack that is second only to The bills
in the in THE. Nfl Caleb williams being efficient with,

(39:18):
football not taking sacks and not piling up turnover some
of what we were talking about With Drake may trying
to find that. Equilibrium you can put the ball On harm's.
Way that's the one THING i think For Caleb, WILLIAMS
i would like them to push the ball downfield more
frequently to keep defenses honest with the dunes say. More
it's And Luther, burden but it's winning football right now

(39:41):
plus seventeen the, TURNOVER i MEAN i might hang, out
take a picture of the punch out off the tush
push and hang it, up you, know in my front.
Hallway why, not cuz you've now figured out how to defend.
It they took that blocker away and you walked right
in On. Jailers the smashed the ball out and they're
not gonna call forward Stop, babe turnover plus. Seventeen Al

(40:03):
harris getting it done in that. Secondary they're doing everything
they need. To if The chiefs were winning games like,
this we would fall over ourselves and, say look at
the championships mentality The chiefs, have only they could win
games The. Bears like we said last, week if you
like The, chiefs you gotta like The bears because they
are the NFC's version Of. Kansas it went back to
back games without a single member of their starting linebacking

(40:24):
corps on the. Field this, Week Green, bay they had
a Green Super. Bowl if you are The, BEARS i
hate you think about that. Coming that scared.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
Me you want more?

Speaker 1 (40:32):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
