Speaker 3 (01:03):
I'm drama right now.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Florida and Edmonton Game two of the Stanley Cup Final.
Edmonton's empty net. It is a four to three Panthers
lead and Leon dry Sidle was just stoned from the
right circle on a on a great pass across and
a one timer. If he had if he had raised
it up a little bit, that's hitting the back of
(01:26):
the net.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
But instead it was just a little too low.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
And I'll tell you, Bobrowski comes all the way over
and gets his pad out and make that is a
Stanley Cup winning save right there. That looked like that
was ticketed for the top of the net and overtime.
But you know what, that's the thing when you're when
you have the pucket that at that point right you.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Got aim for the water bottle. I got aim for
the water.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I'd be the greatest hockey coach in history because I
would just tell people.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Things that history. I'd be great.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
I'd be great because again, my gifted hockey is I
saw the game. I saw stuff happen before Scotty Bowman
got nothing on you, pl I saw how it would happen.
I saw how it would happen. That's what I would do.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah, history right now.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
My mom's salty though, as the Panthers Shotty Bowman, really,
but they live in Florida.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
It doesn't matter. It hates the Panthers. Oh I could
see that.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, I mean you know who the mascots are, the Panthers?
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Maybe I don't know. Do you know who they are?
Did they throw?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
They still throw rats on the ice, right, they throw
rats on the Oh my goodness, Edmonton has scored and
it's your fault.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Smith. With seventeen seconds left. Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
The party in Edmonton, they're all watching from outside the everybody.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Oh my god, I got nothing else. Oh my god,
was it Perry? Was it Perry? You scored?
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Oh my god us Oh seventeen seconds left to go
and the Oilers look like they're sending this to overtime.
Perry scores to tie it at four a piece. Look,
I gonna be honest with you. I don't care about
TV ratings for the NBA Finals the Stanley Cup.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
I don't care.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
You are seeing the best teams play, playing at the
highest level. You saw an incredibly entertaining Game one in
the Stanley Cup Final, you saw an incredibly entertaining Game
one of the NBA Finals, and now you're seeing an
incredibly entertaining Game two of the Stanley Cup Final. That's
gonna wind up going to overtime. I mean, look, this
is why you watch sports, right, I get that. Oh,
it's Florida and Edmonton in Indiana, Oklahoma City.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
It's still the finals. It's still getting the best of the.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Sports final carer for saving I don't care if he
like Kevin Duray.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
If you don't like it, don't watch. That's it. Okay,
but you missed.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
You miss hockey and basketball being played at such an
incredibly high level now and it is now official. Florida
Edmonton going to overtime after Perry's goal looks like a
deflection in front with seventeen seconds left.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
So now, as Dan Patrick would say, we go to
over time?
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Is that what he said all the time on highlights
he would say that, Jason, I think you're wrong. We
go to No, we are going overtime.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
No, Perry's on the Ducks.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
He was, yes, a long time ago that here's how
long time ago. I remember interviewing Corey Perry after they
won the Cup with the Ducks, what.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Like on ESPN.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Yeah, yeah, I got to explained to millennials, Anaheim Ducks
are millennials.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
It's a movie that's very popular in the early nineties,
and then there was an expansion team in the NHL.
They had Paul Korea and Tamo Solani. Then they won
the Cup and there you go, it's Sillani Salani.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Right.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
No, I I I'm familiar with the Italian meat. You
get a nice shark shootery plate, going, get some pickles
and some wrappers up on there.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
I'm familiar with it.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
All from Korea. No, just Paul Korea. No, he's from Korea. No,
he's his name is Paul. Don't forget Goldberg? Had Goldberg
to Goldberg?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Was he a wrestler?
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah, Goldberg. And don't forget Charlie Banks, like learn the
Triple D. He's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Wait, Mike, I thought Goldberg was a wrestler. He's he's
got one more match in him. Okay, And it.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Was who is a kid with the slow shot? They've
gotten to two out of every five?
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Right, who is? What was the name of that kid?
You're asking the wrong guy.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
I have not revisited that film series in a long time.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Flying v Oh, sure, Gordon Bombay, Oh, let's get some more.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Emilio Steve into the I Did Love How with half
a minute left, and we're going to get a face
off after the icing call that you start getting all
the face off stats to start.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Poppa twenty six, Fulton Reed.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Very good, frost bur two out of every five, two
out of every five.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
All right, you're right, Well there you go.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
It works every time every time. Uh, So, free hockey.
Let's go one of the big uh. And it wasn't
that big a deal. I didn't think it was that
big a deal yesterday. But apparently, hey, you know, when
we're starving for NFL news, that Aaron Rodgers deal with
the Steelers is only for one year, right, like this
was verse reported and you saw it for me and Rapaport. Uh,
(05:52):
And potentially we had heard today that maybe Rogers was
looking for a two year deal in the offseason. And
you know, you don't know why the Steelers would say no,
because if they really obviously they painted themselves into a corner.
Not that you know, he's great or anything, but all right,
they so why would that happen? So maybe this looks
like that Rogers only wants to play one year, all right,
(06:12):
So I could see that I could see that he might,
you know, this might be it the final go round
for him as a Steeler. So how's it gonna go right?
This is where we had the NBA Finals last night.
Rogers's signs going good? To report to the Steelers next week?
How is things going to go right?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Now?
Speaker 1 (06:26):
The first thing I'm gonna say is this is that
Rogers is a Tim Tebow story where the impact overall
of Aaron Rodgers, what we talk about and his impact
on the NFL off the field, meaning what is talked
about and discussed is gonna be greater than his impact
(06:48):
on the field. Because that was always saying with Tebo
once he got to the NFL. The impact of Tebow,
what we talked about off the field, how popular he was,
that was way different from what he actually did on
the field.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Now, he did have that one.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Time throwing that touchdown pass that Tamarius Thomas just kept running. Uh,
that was that was Tim Tebow, Right, We talked way
to him. We were not nearly proportional to what his
impact on the field was, Right, Tim Tebow was a
celebrity we talked about and more we saw on the field.
That's gonna be the first thing the talk about. Aaron
Rodgers is going to end up much more of an
(07:22):
impact than what we see on the field from him,
because I'll tell you exactly how the season's gonna go
for him, right, I mentioned, I mentioned Tim Tebow.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
His season is gonna go like Russell Wilson. Okay, He's gonna.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Finally find a way to get it again being away
from the team, gonna familiarize himself with the players, whole
new system that is not really Aaron Rodgers friendly. Right,
That's the one thing we know that this is not
a great fit, right, the Arthur Smith system, this is
not a great fit. He does not do what Aaron
Rodgers does well. Mike Tomlin is not the best head
coach to bring in a gunslinger like Aaron Rodgers who's
(07:55):
gonna spray the ball all over the field. So it's
going to be a very rough fit. Will he have
his moments, Yes, Rogers will have his moments. He will
because he's still Aaron Rodgers, and they'll be once in
a while where you see that gleam and go man.
That's the first ballot Hall of Famer. That's a top
five quarterback all time, maybe the second best quarterback I've
seen the last thirty years.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
I see a glimmer of that.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
He is going to have his moments, but overall, you
saw it last year with the Jets.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
It's not enough.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
All right, I'm willing to give a little bit of
the benefit of the doubt for him health wise, because
clearly beginning of last year he still wasn't healthy.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
He didn't really look like he.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Was healthy ish until the middle to late part of
the season, but it still didn't matter. He still threw
off his back foot way too much. He didn't have
the arm strength he did. He's had way better weapons
with the Jets, and he's gonna have here with the Steelers.
Right he had Garrett Wilson, DeVante Adams, Breeze Hall with
the Jets. Now it's gonna be okay, Well, d k
metcalf And and Swan and stalwarth And and Harris and
(08:55):
Blyer and all.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
He's got bigger.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Can he bring back all those other wide receivers that
came through for for Mike Tomlin so until they didn't.
He'll rally a little bit and he'll have some moments
once in a while, but in the end he's gonna
have a bad run like Russell Wilson did, and the
Steelers are gonna either have to decide whether we turn
to somebody else, or we know that we ride out
(09:17):
this season and and we move on in the offseason, right,
we either turn to Mason Rudolph or we go to
Will Howard if it looks like, hey, we want the
rookie to give us a spark, and he's picking up
the NFL quicker than we thought. But that's how it's
gonna It will end with Aaron Rodgers and a and
a debate in the late season by the Steelers to
are we gonna stick with him the rest of the
way or do we know that it's just not working
(09:39):
and we cut Maite and we go to somebody else,
which would be an embarrassing way for the season and
for Aaron Rodgers. But that's how it's gonna be very
gonna's going to be very Russell Wilson esque. Over the
course of the year, he'll have his moments, but in
one you're gonna see overall, and.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Maybe week one he might have a moment's Week one
because it's the.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Jets, But overall, by the time we get to the
Packers rematch in in week eight, week nine, yeat. Good luck,
good luck staying upright, good luck being someone who is
still moving the ball down the field. He's gonna hit
those Russell Wilson's kids, and believe me, it's gonna be Boy.
Is Aaron Rodgers really gonna finish his career on the
bench in Pittsburgh or are they just gonna stick with
him to give him away for him to go out
(10:16):
before he retires in the offseason and moves on.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
That's how it's gonna go for Rogers.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yeah, I was really surprised there wasn't an option on there,
whether it be the team or the player, just so
you had that bridge, because otherwise all you're doing is
kicking your quarterback the proverbial can down.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
The road another year.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Right in the post Ben Roethlisberger era of bringing guys
in and going, well, maybe there's an opportunity and maybe
this will be the guy. Second chances or some of
the rookies that they've drafted, none of it's played out.
They're over under total sat at eight and a half
while the Rogers signing was already baked in. So anybody
(10:52):
that was expecting suddenly there to be big movement, No,
the assumption was he was showing in the only thing
that would have happened is it would have gone down
if he didn't arrive, and even by then, what was
it gonna go down? A game like the Steelers are
a middling team and maybe he overachieves, out performs, what
is it a minus one twenty? So the implied ards
are that you hit the eight and a half is
(11:15):
fifty four percent? Right, You're in a division that's difficult.
Cleveland has a good roster. Just questions at QB Cincinnati
and Baltimore. While we assume they're better in Cincinnati, I
think the expectation is they don't give away a couple
of games early in the season like they have in
years past that in September they actually come out slinging.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
So for Aaron.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Rodgers, look, he got better as the season went on.
And you can decide how much you want to buy
into top ten, this top ten that quarterbacking and just
slinging it.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
How much is empty calories and stats.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
I just don't think on the field he moves the
needle anymore, right, you know, It's almost like Aaron Rodgers
is sort of like Kevin Durant, But Kevin Durant play
a little high level where yeah, Kevin Durant still gets
his stats and as numbers, But what do we talk
about earlier week? Like he just hasn't led anybody anywhere
in six years. He hasn't made a team a playoff
and made them better, made them an NBA championship contender
(12:12):
since twenty nineteen, right, Like, he hasn't done that. That's
Aaron Rodgers. Yet he had some stats last year at yeah,
but the season was over. It doesn't matter. Like his
stats were in games where they were against other teams
had nothing to play for. The Jets had nothing to
play for. They just decided to let him throw the footballing.
He's almost like Katie where, yeah, you're gonna see some numbers,
(12:32):
but he's not gonna turn you into an offensive team.
That's why the impact of him off the field and
how we talk about him in the conversation that drives
television and radio is going to be bigger than the
impact on the field.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Well, but that's it, right.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
How many when you go to Kevin Durant, it became
all about the squad? How many games do those guys
actually play together? And eighty two games is a bleeping
long season. So to have impact is like, can I
put him in a box until March and the other
guys can actually carry things for a while and then
he's playing meaningful basketball. No, it's not the way it
works here, at least for seventeen games. Even going out
(13:07):
with your jets in game one. Every game has some
juice to it. I'm gonna play in Dublin. All of
these things. Attention is going to be there. But the
impact on the fields, Oh that's not goods man, What
do you got? You got DK Metcalf and Robert Woods?
Good luck ageless, good luck Robert Woods, good luck friar Mouth.
And maybe maybe they can bring in John new Smith.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Is he showing up?
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Uh? Well, let's see, because remember, see what the change
because Aaron Rodgers is not running that offense. No, No,
Arthur Smith's offense is the fact that he's there. It
doesn't matter. He's running his own offense once he shows up.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
I saw Donald Driver playing catch at the part.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Now that would be fun. Robert Brooks was there too.
Sure you know what else Katie and Rogers have in common?
Speaker 3 (13:52):
What's that?
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Linguine legs don't do not skip leg day?
Speaker 3 (13:57):
But I mean Stutz had a night.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Wait wait wait wait, Linguen, of course you would god
pasta face. You gotta start talking about ratitude while we're
at it. Dude, this such Victor E. Ratt is one
of the would.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Literally he's a pasta with Aaron Rodgers oh style now
the last couple of years.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yeah, but now now he's not my guy. Now that
he's not your guy, he sucks. Now.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
It's justin Fields super Bowl last year, dude. Yeah, you
know how he works with these guys, Sam Darnold. He
was starting to build, he was starting to build pasta bust,
like he was part of a Seinfeld episode. And then
as soon as that guy went gone, he covered him
with sauce and ate him. Dude, Isaiah, I can turn
the page on you in a second, man, I mean
I don't need that much. In a second, I could
(14:42):
love you, love you, love you. One day you're the
bet and the next day wake up, boob. Don't know
Michael Confordo did the him.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
He broke him. Sorryeah no, we had some good times.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
But yeah, Wan Soto and net play in the outfield
a few minutes ago. I thought his head was gonna explode. Yes,
it's Jason's brain skipping like the Sodo shuffle.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
It's done. Yeah, but but just yes, yes, I know,
but that was yesterday. That was yesterday.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
We live in a different world if you're doing all
sunny weaver Man, we live.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
In a different world than we did thirty seconds ago.
Ready for a new job? Maybe that you know that?
That rookie GM and Jacksonville Chris Carson, he's a new job.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
It's Sonny. That was my backup pick. I don't know
what am I gonna do.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
I don't sound like a fantasy owner. We have a
new altar man.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
He took my guy.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Yeah, coming up next? Hey, how about this on a
fun Friday. Okay, there's been a big quarterback story this
week that seems like for this team it's not a
good thing, but the opposite might be true. That's next,
right here, Jason and Mike Fox Sports.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Right, I'm confused.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon days at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
The Jason Smith Show with My Best Friend Mike Harmon.
Overtime has just begun. The Panthers and the Oilers tied
at four apiece.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Victor E.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Ratt had a chance to win the game just moments ago,
but just no backbone, just slid by, didn't take a shot,
slid by right right right past the mounting. So again,
I mean, look, so far the Stanley Cup Final and
the NBA Finals about as good as you could possibly expect. Again,
(16:39):
Edmonton and Florida tied at four piece. Edmonton tied the
game in the final seventeen seconds of regulation. Connor McDavid
nearly just won it by himself on a rinklink rush,
but slid the puck just wide of the net at
a great chance on Bbrowski, but still four to four.
We'll keep you updated on this. Sixteen thirty seven to
(16:59):
go in overtime over under for that one was six
and a half goals. You're feeling I'm taking the over
in this series all why wouldn't you? I mean again again,
every Oilers game, well the time you look up, they
haven't started yet, they're already winning two nothing. But it
hasn't started to have a Yeah, no, you see the score.
It's always that Yankees Dodgers series this last weekend. Every
(17:19):
game there was another add another half run or run.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
As yeah, just keep hitting the.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Over So meanwhile, uh, it's not just the Mets that
can blow bases loaded nobody out innings. The Rockies apparently
can do it too. Basses loaded nobody out in the
bottom of the eighth inning. I'm saying to myself, the
metsic this is gonna be one of those losses. Just
pisses me off. And and Ryan Stannik gets a line
(17:47):
out to third where Brett Bady dives to make the
catch and doubles off the runner on third. So Basses
loaded nobody out, turns into a double play. He strikes
out the next batter. We go to the ninth inning,
tie to two. So just his poor baby had played
in the field in the past. Yeah, he came back
and gave you one here, Brett Bady, give it then,
Brett Baty. At least you're not getting shut out though. No, No,
(18:08):
well fields for a while.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
No, Look, you're two two going to the night. They're
one for eleven with runners and scoring for h you're too,
two going to the night. Arable. It's the Rockies. It's awful.
It's terrible. They've had a good week though.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
This is like a way you caught them at the
exact wrong time. If they had to sweep this week.
They're feeling good. They're chesty. If the Rockies winning this game,
they're gonna hang a batter. Mars beat a really good
team on May seventh, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
That's what it's good. The Mets will be the biggest.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Trophy that they have winning this game seventh, June seventh.
So what I say May seventh, June seventh, they still
the same number of wins in May.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
It doesn't matter. Okay, you have you had a rough,
rough month. I'll tell you a month was really rough.
Forget where I was.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
So one of the big quarterback stories over the last
couple of days Anthony Richardson, Yeah, he's not good.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Supposedly he was.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
You know, hey, I'm gonna battle it out with Dan Jones,
who the starting quarterback in Indianapolis is going to miss
mini camp with a shoulder injury.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Now is he going to be back for training camp?
The Colts are hoping so.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
But really, you've seen this is a guy that came
into the league with all kinds of talent, but he
didn't play enough football. He's inaccurate, and he can't stay healthy.
Those are not hallmarks for Hey, I'm gonna be the
next great franchise.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Quarterback in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
This is his last chance, all right, this is his
last chance to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
And now he's gonna go in and be behind Daniel Jones,
who's gonna get the first team reps and already the
last twenty four hours and oh Daniel Jones, all Giants
fans making fun of Colts fans. But I'll tell you this.
I'm gonna give you this, this sunshine thing. You want
a great hot take for a Friday night. The Colts
(19:50):
are officially my long shot super Bowl team in the AFC.
They are plus ten thousand to go to the Super Bowl. Okay, now,
yea jumping on board my best long shot bet I.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Have one in the NFC. You'll get to the NFA,
but I won in the AFC.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
NFC my big long time shot in long shot because
they are plus ten thousand. Why Daniel Jones is gonna
wind up being the quarterback? Right because you've seen Anthony Richardson.
He's just it's just not happening for him, right, Daniel
Jones has great weapons around him. He has four terrific
wide receivers, he's got a really good offensive Line's got
(20:30):
a top five offensive line, and he's got a great
running game. You don't need more than that, right, that's
a really good even Danny Dimes can find ways to
make plays in that offense. Right, That's why it was
put on a platter for Anthony Richardson. He can't stay healthy.
The defense not very good, but they spent the offseason
fixing it. They play in a craptastic division. Okay, the
AFC South is bad, right, you know the Jaguars are bad, right.
(20:54):
The Texans they're the team you're you're thinking about, you're
looking at. But really, the Texans, I mean they're world beater.
It took us in the back last year. Could I
say you bringing up Richardson's shoulder as the question of
the week? I keep raising my hand on CJ.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Stroud.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
They finally they're kind of addressing it, but not general soreness.
He can't so he can't participate in any of this. Yeah, yeah,
no fade general.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
The Texan, it's general. It's general. They could always bring
David Carr back. They could and Derek Carr. I think
you know, no, no, no, that's broken. No, no, any anyone.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
David Carr got broken behind that offensive line all those
years ago. I think he was so broke he said, no,
keep your thirty million. I'm not bad. I think Chuck
Carr could come back and play. I don't think still
doesn't make any sense. Why would you not stick around
and get your thirty million because I don't get your
good Chuck? Okay, good, come on, you gotta give me
a good Chuck Car run. No, no, no, that's good.
You gotta give me that. Antoine Carr could come and
(21:53):
play quarterback here. Wow, now we're going to the golden age?
Speaker 4 (21:59):
Car.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Did I ever tell you my Antoine Car?
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (22:03):
No, okay, I'll tell you this. The fact that you
haven't raged on is a win.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
So this is so, this is back in oh man,
this is two thousand. Okay, this is this is two thousand,
and I'm working for KBC here in Los Angeles as
a sports producer. It was with Bill Weir right when
he sure, okay, so he's back in nineteen ninety nine,
And it was when the Lakers were playing the Rockets
(22:32):
in the first round of the playoff second round. I forget,
but but Antoine Warmers nineteen ninety nine, two ninety ten thousand. Yeah,
he's playing with the Rockets and we are doing interviews
for the for the news that day, right, So we
went to the Lakers locker room for interviews, and we
go to the Rockets locker room for interviews, and uh.
We go in to Rockets and Bill we were is
talking to Antoine car and I'm like, oh, so we
(22:54):
got good sound for him because I was.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I forget where I was. I was doing something else
coming back. Oh goodness. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
And they're talking about Wild Wild West, which was just
coming out with Will Smith, right, the remake of What
Kin Yeah with.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
The Wild Wild West. That's a good video. Video is
better than the movie.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
So they're talking about it and I didn't know what
they were talking about, and I go what are you
talking about? And he goes, wow, Wild West and I go, oh,
I never saw that, but the movie come out. He goes, oh,
you never saw the TV show? I said no, and
Antoine Carr goes man, he slicks at me. He goes, man,
what have you been doing? For the last twenty years.
And I looked at him and I said, underachieving, same
as you. Wow, Like I said, because you know, Antoine
(23:33):
Carr's whole career had been he had all kinds of talent.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
But he never really realized you really did that. I've
I laughed.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Quick and left and then I said, oh, Gil, Wow,
he's really big.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
He's a big guy.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Is gonna beat That's one of my favorite No, underachieving,
same as you. How did he respond to that? He laughed, No,
he left. He was a good dude. He was a
really good good about it. He laughs, like ah.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
And then they started explaining Wild Wild West to me,
and then the whole thing in Kevin Klin's role and
and Will Smith and all that, and I was like, oh,
I was like wow, I was really said that and
then walking out me where it is.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
That was a great one line because it's a really
good one liner.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
If it works, you got it. Underachieving same as you,
pow uh. Now you just knocked my producer out. Now
he's on the floor bleeding. I think he's gonna sue you. Yeah,
that was that was fun. That was one of my
favorite one.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Line's pretty good that's a good one liner though. Yeah, yeah,
I was. I was a big fan of that.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Because one thing, I mean, folks can never really do
with you is to say that you don't have a
wide berth in terms of your television and movies. So
whenever there is a blind spot, it's kind of a
big deal.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
I'm like you usually at least aware to a point
where like, all right, I've got a chronology. I've got
a timeline for what what happened, especially a TV show
that would have been on for multiple years even if
you hadn't seen it.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Yeah, you know enough to be dangerous.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Yeah, It's just one of those. It was one of
the shows I never watched. I didn't really have a
working knowledge. I mean, I knew the movie was coming
out and the Man coming out with Will Smith and
Kevin Okay, that's great. I was like, all right, but
I didn't know it because I just never saw it
was one of those things that never and I didn't
know it.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Was so popular.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
When they said what are you even doing, I'm like, oh, okay,
I was like, I didn't know it was that popular.
I didn't think The Wild Wild West was It's not
like it was Brady Bunch. I'm like, oh, I never
saw Brady Bunch. No, I never never saw that. Let's
see now, Gilligan's four episodes I'm good, okay, all right.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Nineteen sixty five to nineteen sixty nine. Robert Conrad.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Okay, Dary did knock because you gotta explain to millennials
with that.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
No, that's it. Yeah stuff. Red West was in there.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
He was one of the henchmen, man, the guy from
the double Deuce in the town.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
So, I mean you got that going on. That's good.
They said it was cops who stole up at cops. No.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
But but back to the point about about the Colts, right,
they play in a really bad division and their offense
is incredibly talented. The potential is certain there if you
can pull the trigger. I mean, you know, Mitchell is
still hoping for more out of him here, but you know,
downs is terrific.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
They got weapons, man.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Great, take the top off the still there they got
They got the tight end in the first round. I
don't know what else you would want, Like this is yeah,
they're jill Us three point fifty for the division. Daniel
Jones has to be saying, I got really lucky coming
in here, like he definitely not. But strings yeah, I'm
signing with the right team. I am signing with the
(26:30):
right team to figure this out right here. This is
what I'm doing. Uh No, he's He's a guy that
I've placed a moderate bed end in the trading card work. Okay,
I'm telling you in the post hype sleeper. That's what
we do with baseball, you know, and we did with
fantasy baseball. Uh and and certainly for fantasy football's guys
that had the hype machine behind them, and so everybody
(26:51):
dives off and you're like, well, there's an opportunity. And
for Daniel Jones getting away from from New York if
he can stay healthy, because that's the other side for
him though, Right, what's his games played over under We're
talking about Aaron Rodgers and and and what he does
with Pittsburgh and and they're an eight and a half
win that's their total in the batting markets for the
(27:11):
Colts made plus three fifty for the division. It's worth
it's worth the shot, right, plus ten thousand for the
Super Bowl. You see, there's there's teams that come out
of nowhere that offense. I'm telling you one hundred one,
maybe fantastic, Go get it, Tennessee Titans and Campbell Ward.
You got the Jaguars who they've They've got the guy
everybody wants to watch and Travis Hunter.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
But you still see Jaguars, Jackaguars, jagu War, Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
That's how they say in the commercial. That's how they
say it the commercial sum conditioned Jaguar. Yeah, what's what's
the tag at Jagie War? Not like any other what?
I don't know what is it?
Speaker 1 (27:46):
I just can thinking that the rest of development line,
the Ministry of as it was and so it will
be and whatever that thing is that the Steve the
Pirate was the uh and uh May Whittman was in.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
It was as it is and as it was there
as it will be ministry.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
It's funny, my my older daughter is actually they're they're
starting to watch that as a group, as a friend group.
Oh okay, suddenly, Arrested Development came up as a your,
ah you sure character here.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Show of all time. It's it's the it's the last
great comedy of all of all time, might be the
most underrated show it is.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Zoe just binged it and she says Oh my god,
how have you not told me about this? I said, well,
you got we got to wait till you're old enough
to be able to get a lot of the jokes.
You want to You want to go back and see
all the different scenes where you know, there's just blue
paint up on the side, Tobias walking around bias. Is
that a galley see? No, it's just a pallas see
(28:42):
like reflexes to bias fumecare.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Uh. So there you go, telling you ten thousand and
one cold Super Bowl time out to.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Find out what's trending in the wide world of sports
from special delivery Steve to Sager and I just want
to say this, it's only been a day.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
But Francisco Lindor, I've missed you so much. I have
missed you so much the least it doesn't matter. I've
missed you so much, then goodness your beast word fight.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Did the Mets do something in their game?
Speaker 6 (29:14):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Francisco and has been out after the Dodgers broke his
toe on purpose. Uh, missed the final game of the
series with the Dodgers didn't start tonight, but.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Was yeah there are report.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
Yeah, he came up to pinch hit in the ninth inning.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
All the Mets fans who made the trip to Colorado
are just standing and cheering, going nuts. First pitch, he
doubles down the line to bring in two runs. Mets
lead the Rockies now four to two, and Lindor again,
I've I've missed him so much? Are really safe? They
ruled him. They looked at it, they looked at it.
It's in there.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
He didn't get tagged. Now it's in there. He's safe. Steve,
tell me this isn't true. Say it ain't so. Just
say it ain't so.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
Code I Sangle will get a no decision for the Mets,
by the way, but six innings, one run aloud, and
six strikeouts. Sonny Gray was six and a third quality
innings as the Cardinals starter tonight. If he gets the win,
he'll be seven and one this season. The Cardinals are
leading the Dodgers for nothing in the bottom of the
eighth Dodgers no runs, ten hits, Angels lead five to
(30:18):
four over the Mariners bottom of the seventh, A's lead
the Orioles five to four top of the sixth, and
at San Francisco, the Giants ahead of the Braves three
to two in the bottom of the fifth. The Padres
won two to nothing at Milwaukee Detroit and Tarrek Scooble
a three to one win over the Cubs. Schooble, the
Cy Young Award winner last year, now six and two.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
He pitched into the eighth inning.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Yankees led seven to nothing early against Boston loser Walker Bueller,
nine to six Yanks the final wins for Tampa Bay
and Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Now to the Stanley Cup Final.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Nine oh five to go in the first overtime at
Edmonton Oilers, trying to take a two games to none
series lead. This one is even at four. Corey Perry
had the tying goal and the final seconds of regulation.
In fact, it was the latest tying goal in the
history of the Stanley Cup Final.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
I think he's also the oldest player to ever score
a goal. He's sixty four years old and he scored tonight.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
He is on the oldest player list for the final though,
you are correct, but it was with eighteen seconds left
in regulation. So this final, for the first time in
over a decade, has overtime for the first two games
of the series, and just a few minutes ago it
looked like Florida was going to win, they had a
shot slide, slowly passed the goalie through the pads and
(31:34):
was cleared off the line at the post. So we
continue at four to four EOT. In Edmonton, the Dallas
Stars fired coach Peter de boor NBA Finals Game two
is Sunday. WNBA wins tonight for LA and Connecticut. At
the French Open, Number one Yonick center beat Novak Djokovic
in three close sets. Rory McElroy shot a seventy eight
(31:54):
and missed the cut. At the Canadian Open, a judge's
ruled that colleges can now pay their athletes to and
college Softball's championship goes to the Texas Longhorns for the
first time. They take game three of the best of
three finals ten to four over Texas Tech. By the way,
college baseball Super Regionals started today, Coastal Carolina is leading
(32:15):
at number four. Auburn Todight, a bottom of the six
a six to three lead already wins for Oregon State
and a comeback and North Carolina, which beat Arizona eighteen
to two.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon
Coming up next. I've already resigned myself that one of
the biggest names this offseason in the NBA is going
to a very particular team. That's next right here, Jason
and Mike Fox Sports Radio, you're honest to the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Duh.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Okay, but not who I'm gonna say close, Fox Sports Radio,
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon,
Panthers and the Oilers skate on three minutes ago in
over Time, Edmonton, nearly one of a few moments ago,
but still Game two of the Stanley Cup Final continues.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Free hockey, Baby, keep it going.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
As k Billy Super Sounds of the seventies continues, I've
already come to one realization when it comes to the
offseason in the NBA. Okay, it's it's weird, but it
makes I want to say, makes too much sense, but
it like I feel like it's just gonna happen and
I'm gonna have to sign go.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Okay, now, let's se because what have I said?
Speaker 1 (33:30):
KD is still a guy that gets some stats, but
he hasn't let anybody anywhere in six years, right, Like,
he's still a really good player, but he's been the
answer supposedly for now two teams and not even close.
But I just feel like it's a fade, a complete
that whoever winds up coming in coaching the Knicks and
they're gonna go get Kevin Durant and I'm gonna watch.
(33:51):
I'm gonna watch Kate no stop. I could have you
basketball arrested. And I just looked it up the rules.
If you mentioned Doc Rivers in conjunction with any NBA
job he hasn't already had.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
You can be putting radio kicks. You could be putting
radio GNBA. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
But since the Bucks have decided that the relationship between
Doc and Giannis is what might keep him in Milwaukee,
what if Doc goes to the Knicks.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
And then he can convince Giannis to come there.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Nestor one of our guys on on Instagram with that one.
I'm just it feels like it's just gonna happen, Like, oh,
KD will come in and be the athletics score. He's
looking and he's actually, you look, he's still a pretty
decent defender. They're gonna need to make a move together.
Maybe Karl Anthony Towns goes out in some kind of move.
It can't be a cat for KD. Like, what if
KD had shown up, if he'd wanted to move at
(34:41):
the All Star break. I should add the trade deadline
was rumored that maybe look right. We talked to Rick
Buker about that last night. You know, rumors at the
Knicks looked into KD at the All Star break and
they couldn't make it happen. I feel like if they
looked in at the All Star break and they couldn't
make it happen, and here you fell short, needing another score,
needing someone to take the pressure, Needing an athletic forward
(35:03):
to take the pressure off of Jalen Bruntson. Hey, okay,
but I mean it sounds great, But Kevin Durance is
in his mid thirties now and again he hasn't led
anybody anywhere. And this is with other All NBA players
on the team. It's not like he's been by himself
on a team with no other stars. He had Harden,
he had well back when Ben Simmons was still a
(35:25):
good player. He had Kyrie that didn't work. He had
Devin Booker, Bradley Beal didn't work. Like have we got
him on a podcast to ask what he thinks happened
to Ben Simmons. Yet he's been with great players and
it hasn't worked. But suddenly we put him on the Knicks.
It's just gonna work because Kevin Durant's gonna work.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
On the Knicks. No, it's not, it's not.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
It's not that they need a younger, more athletic forward
that can really get out defensively and can really take
that scoring pressure off of Jalen Brunson. But I feel
like it's gonna be an easy thing to say, Katie,
you'll want to go play in New York, and the
Knick say, hey, it's a perfect guy to go get it.
It's it seems great. It's a great headline because we'll
look at the back of his basketball card and think
what a great move it is, and it really isn't. Well,
(36:07):
but the potential is there in the East when you
look at what the next year ahead is, Cause maybe
Giannis isn't there, right, maybe he goes to San Antonio.
Let's just throw that up into the into the world
for a potential. Right, we look at him and suddenly
he's out of Milwaukee and they're old anyway, right, how
(36:27):
great are they gonna be with Jannison and whatever they're
able to assemble a lot of contracts, plus Lillard's hurt, opportunity,
Celtics don't have Jason Tatum. A lot of questions of
what their team looks like this next year? Do they
trade Jalen Brown? And do they do a reset into
next year? Go back to Phoenix? Well, Bradley Beal only
(36:47):
played fifty games, Devin Booker was hurt for a chunk
of the season, So you had Durant. I mean your
next games played guy was Grayson Allen. Are he moving
the needle?
Speaker 3 (36:59):
No? No, he's not. So yeah, it was an imperfectly
constructed squad. Goes to New York, plays with your guy Bronson.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
Maybe there's enough. He still pretends to play defense. Enough
does KD. So maybe it's saying there's a chance.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
I really I'm.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Just look, I could root for your knicks if you
bring him in because I love Kevin Durant.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
We don't. We don't quote anybody as much as.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
We do Kevin d What everyone doc you know that
makes it worse?
Speaker 3 (37:30):
That makes the worse. How does that make it better?
Nothing added? Whoever makes it better?
Speaker 1 (37:36):
That does it is better for the show. It doesn't know,
it's not Stan. Why are you so mad?
Speaker 3 (37:41):
I do want to talk's a great coach? No he
is not. You know wait, is Doc Rivers coach right
now nowhere? No, he does coach? Where's the coach? Really? Yeah?
Oh he sucks? Why is it coaching?
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Wow, Frostburg couldn't whisper to you where he coached Milwaukee
because Frostburgh does like ventriloquism where he drinks and he's
actually stopped so he can whisper to tight shirt Milwaukee.
So I take my head and I put my fewshert
bark twice.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
If you're in Milwaukee. I mean, look, yeah, k Kd's
a great head.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
We'll score some points, but real but you know Cat
scored in the regular season. He hasn't He hasn't affected
the team's achievement in the playoffs. Six years, Mike Harmon,
six years. I just watched your your eyes flashback to
the light went out of them like you've just been
attacked by jaws when you brought up Cat and the
playoffs and what he what he was because my talking
(38:36):
about his greatness in the regular season in your brain,
you were replaying the last of the playoffs and it
hurt your brain.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Just watch, where's Kevin Duran?
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Always got a hamstring injury or a growing injury, or boy,
he's really showing his age now in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
No, he's in a hyperbaric chamber until April.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
First man, I'll tell you exit ab out of Fresco,
Exit swelling down.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
Greg kd in New York. Next, great, huray h
