(00:51):
here we are the NFL Draft. There are six selections
left tonight to close the third round. We just had
a quarterback to We just had two quarterbacks taken. We
started off with cam Ward number one overall pick to
the Tennessee Titans. Congratulations Jackson Dart to the Giants. We're
training up. We got our guy that worked with Eli.
(01:11):
It's gonna work with Jackson Dart. That's probably what Joe
Shane said. Shuck goes to New Orleans, him and his
dog and his family, and it was awesome. Jaylen Mill
road to the Seattle Seahawks potential Sam Darnold's successor if
he stinks, but he's got a year to learn, and
another quarterback has just come off the board. The Cleveland Browns,
(01:35):
at pick number ninety four said, okay, okay, we know
we need a We have two super Bowl winning quarterbacks
on our don't what.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Has been called elite.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
We got a guy that won the Super Bowl fifteen
years ago and another guy that played about about a
minute and a half in the Super Bowl last year.
We got two got booke ending super Bowl winning quarterbacks.
But we get that we need somebody. So to the
NFL Draft we go, where the Cleveland Browns, moments ago
made this selection.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
With the ninety fourth pick in the twenty twenty five
NFL Draft.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
The Cleveland brown select Dylan Gabriel.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Oh boy, oh boy.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
See I thought it sounded like Victoria Jackson from Saturday
Night Liven A little.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Bit, sure, a little bit?
Speaker 6 (02:28):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Dylan Gabriel goes and listen, Here's all you know about
Dylan Gabriel is that like when you see him throw
the football and you read when ESPN is analyzing who
was pro compass, it's Kellen Moore, right, the same thing,
same arm strength, same everything. This is who gets taken
as the fifth quarterback off the board instead of Shador Sanders.
(02:48):
Like again, last hour we talked about the situation with
Shador Sanders. That shows you that the image that you
put out there the optic. The interviews that you in
the off season, how you treat other teams, how you
talk about working out and doing different things that you
really really think are secondary, this shows you how important
(03:11):
they are. And this is a referendum on how much
teams value what image you present to them in the
off season and how important and what they're willing to
swallow when it comes to swagger and a little bit
of cockiness and arrogance. Right, this is the lesson from
Shador Sanders because clearly he's more NFL talented than the
(03:34):
last three guys that were taking probably the last four.
Jackson Dart is a good quarterback, he's a draft riser,
but he is more talented than any of these guys. Right,
He's more talented right now than any of these guys.
There's a reason why big college football analysts have at
the top of their draft boards. But this shows you
that it's a really big deal because if you put
(03:55):
out an image and a team is interviewing you, going, yeah,
we're a billion dollar company, and you would be we're
interviewing you to be the face of this billion dollar company,
and you kind of come off as really, we don't know,
we don't know if we can if you're the investment
or are you gonna are you gonna take responsibility, are
(04:16):
you gonna lead, are you gonna blame your teammates? Or
what kind of person are you gonna be? And when
you go out there? And I want everybody to be themselves, right, Hey,
be yourself, don't be somebody or not, but be the
best version of yourself in a job interview. Right, That's
what we all do when we're in a job interview.
When we meet somebody that we really like and want
to talk to, want to buy her a drink. I'm
not walking over going hey, you see me here, I'm
(04:38):
the catch in this entire bar. So how about give
me a phone number or we leave right now? What either?
Speaker 4 (04:44):
What?
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Either? What like? You're not doing that right? You're not? So?
I mean, but this is this is kind of This
shows you that this is the situation for Shador Sanders,
and you see how valuable making yourself look like a solution.
Whether you're interviewing to have a job in a bank,
whether you're interviewing to have a job at a grocery store,
or if you're interviewing to be a quarterback in the
NFL the team that wants to take you. This is
(05:06):
how important this is. But now the question becomes, this
my car, But I'm gonna hit you with something, and
I want you to be a percentage chance that this happens.
Here's a great hot take for you, right, great hot
take if Shadore Sanders goes undrafted the rest of this round.
And clearly that could happen because it's the Raiders picking twice,
(05:28):
the forty nine Ers, the Eagles, and the Vikings, right,
all teams that have their quarterbacks right now here are
the Raiders And okay, but they just got Geno Smith
and I don't think Pete Carroll. Look, he's a win
now guy who are in the next couple of years. Right,
If Pete Carroll was fifty five, I would say, hey,
he's on there. But we see what the Raiders have
been doing so he could he could easily go undrafted
(05:50):
through the first two days of the NFL Draft if
I said to you, give me the percentage chance that
after tonight and he goes undrafted, he makes an announcement.
There's a big announcement. He is going to leave the
NFL and the NFL Draft and eschew the draft and
(06:12):
go play someplace else. I'm gonna go play in Canada.
I'm gonna go do that. I'm not going I am
opting out of the National Football League. Give me percent
a chance? Is there any Is there any daylight at all?
You can't tell me it's zero because it's Chadored, it's dionze.
You can't tell me it's a Is it? Is it
like half a percent? Is it three percent? Is it
eight percent? Is it ten percent?
Speaker 5 (06:34):
I think you go back and just fight to get
your college eligibility reinstated. And TABA doesn't know what they're
doing in this show up saying, hey, technically, under year
old rules, I had a year remaining, and under the
current rules, I don't think there are any rules, So
I'm creating my own path.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Hey, that's not a bad idea. The NCA makes up
rules every other day that I did.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
It's like a one liner that then saw the tweet
headline out of a Florio thing, and I'm like, I
like this. I like the idea that perhaps you just
decide to forge your own path. No does he bail No,
because eventually you gotta go to work, right, We don't
(07:17):
always get to go work where we want.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
We're blessed to be here at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Long arduous journeys and pathways and other jobs and opportunities
to get here, and now we're building empire. But all
of that, you know, you know, you don't always get
your first choice, right. You might have asked ten women
at that bar if they'd like to sit and have
a drink and talk about music and your favorite movies
of the nineties before the tenth one actually says yeah, sure.
(07:46):
It's like I mean, and eventually, and this goes back
to you know, as you're talking about perception becomes reality
and job interviews and everything else. There, there's also that
idea of relationships and and everything you do in your
office place and your home whatever else.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
You know.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
The big work for the last couple of weeks in
the w W world. I'm gonna bring you in there
just for a second, because they showed up at the
draft Seth Rollins for the Bears.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Seth Seth Rollins was awesome. You bring up WrestleMania again.
You gotta get get not overpass it.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
But okay, no, no, no, I do it because there was
an angle leading towards WrestleMania.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
No, there was. Seth was great and trolling the Packer fans.
He's got the he's got the he's got the Bears
championship belt. No, that was awesome.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
Because there was a whole thing with Charlotte Flair and
Tiffany Stratton talking about you know, hey, and he got personal.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Hey, you've been divorced three times. What do they say?
Speaker 5 (08:46):
First time, maybe we we just didn't get along, We
grew apart, We had different ambitions over years.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Time changes. Second time, maybe.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
You overcorrect and you go back to the well the
second time, and and maybe maybe you made some mistakes
and you put some blinders on. You tried too hard
to fix something you thought was wrong the first time,
but that wasn't it, and you left a bunch of
other stuff under ten. Third time, when that fails, Now
we're in a point and eventually.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Got to look at the mirror and say, maybe the
problem is you.
Speaker 5 (09:17):
And that's where the Shadoor Sanders things comes in here,
because we had the quotes and we had little anonymous things,
and they seem to be isolated but certainly loud right
where you'd bold face it going all right, this sounds
like shouting. But now you've had thirty two teams with
multiple bites at the apple, and now they've gone and
(09:38):
they've taken.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
All these other quarterbacks.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
So it's not just one guy's opinion unless there's just
an invisible hand that rules the day. And I have
no doubt the conspiracy theories. As soon as this round ends,
you know, five thousand word thought pieces will start coming
up as to why should or hasn't been drafted. But yeah,
going back to your pie chart percentage chances of whatever else. No,
(10:02):
I mean, at this point, it becomes the I'm gonna
make all those other teams pay, well one of them
eventually took it. Well, they don't have to pay because
they eventually came back. But goes to the larger point too, Right,
we got a lot of guys late round draft picks.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
You cite Brady.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
You cite Romo and Warner obviously a Hall of Famer.
Romo your guy that you love to emulate, his calls
of games and everything else. These are guys that were undrafted,
late round picks, right, that went on to great prominence.
Mister irrelevant rock Perty. Now we're arguing about whether he's
a thirty five million dollars a year quarterback or where
(10:41):
he's at towards the top of the market and whatever.
But still a guy that's gonna play for a long
long time. Just because all these team pass doesn't mean
that eventually you can't figure it out, get your opportunity
and go have a great career. But in the interim, yeah,
it's a lot of people looking around the room going,
all right, what's the truth. Just the truth is thirty
(11:01):
two teams said beating.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
But here's the thing, and this is what you know
when I say opting out of the NFL, Like, okay,
that's right, maybe it's kind of fun.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Uh, he's not going to play in the Rocks League.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
But but just think about but no, but just think
about this for a second, because if you're a quarterback
and you're taken in the first round, you're gonna play
that first year, right, because you don't get taken in
the first round without playing that first year. Sorry, Russell Wilson,
that's gonna happen, right, you get taken in the second
or third round. You're someone who is a developmental quarterback
that in a year, teams are looking at you at hey, okay,
(11:34):
let's see what you're made of if you can win
the starting quarterback job now, because right now we have
a situation where we have a guy for a year
and if he's great, hey, we're in a great position
and you're still learning. But if not, we want to
see that maybe next year you can rise up and
become our guy. Right second third round, there there's three
picks left in the third round forty nine Ers, Eagles, Vikings.
(11:55):
They're not drafting it unless a team comes up into
the end of the third round of JAFH Door Sanders.
He is going to be a Day three pick at best.
Guys that are drafted in the fourth round aren't drafted
potentially to be starters. These are guys that are drafted, Hey,
we got to make sure we have a good backup
because we don't know our guy might need to play
(12:15):
a little bit like wait, when you saw the Cowboys
decide we're gonna make the trade for Joe Milton. Why, well,
Dak's been hurt the last couple years. While Dak is
our guy. It's a pretty important position for us to
nail down because we need somebody that can play, just
in case you go into fourth round or beyond. You
are beyond developmental, you are maybe some point you get
(12:35):
a shot, but this is not Hey, you're a fourth
round gem and suddenly you're gonna go How many fourth
round guys get to pick? You need incredible circumstances like
brock Perty seeing everybody in front of them get hurt
and rise up from third string.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Right, nobody's ever explored the witchcraft angle with him, just
a whole.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Bunch of NFL You can just buy the dolls. I
have to make him just buy the dolls. Now, different
NFL quarterbacks just like fire under their feet feet, so
a lot I can't play. This is this is where
Shador Sanders is that. Just think about that. He's the point. Now,
where is anybody who drafts him even looking at him
as a starting quarterback at some point? Because you don't
do that from the fourth round on like this is where, hey,
(13:18):
maybe at some point he's a backup and and his
journey in the NFL is something that is absolutely up
in the air at this point instead of I'm coming
in and eventually I'm gonna get my position. Okay, not
a first rounder but second out now not here? What
does that mean? Like, really, what does his NFL future
look like? And it looks like a backup. That's that's
(13:38):
where we're at right now with Shador Sanders. Think about
that part of the story.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Well, Google gave me a couple of other choices.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
I mentioned Brady before you got rich Gannon, Matt Hasselbeck,
a friend of the show years ago, Joe Thaisman, Mark Brunell,
Brad Johnson, super Bowl winner, Brad Johnson.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
That's seven in Kirk. That's at Kirk. He's he's still
out there.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
He's the richest man in NFL history.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Eight guys in the last sixty years of the NFL
that you brought up. That's your saying, there's a chance
that's eight guys in sixty years. All it takes is
one exit out by a Fresca exus swallendome. Just that
that's where Shador Sander's NFL Future looks right now. Uh,
don't forget. You can stream our show all the Fox

The NFL Draft tonight is over. It's over. Johnny over.
(17:23):
Ti Felton, now, a Maryland wide receiver, is the final
pick of the third round, a day in which we
did not see Colorado quarterback Shador Sanders get taken. He
will now be a Day three pick at best. As
we said a few minutes ago, this is not where
you get drafted. If teams see you as a starter
(17:43):
and you have a path to starting in the NFL,
that's what this fall is for Shador Sanders joining us. Now,
I'm the hotline. Nobody better to talk this over with
than college football Insider extraordinaire, the owner, proprietor, editor, editor
and proofreader of College Footballnews dot com, your one stop
(18:04):
shopping for everything college football. He's on Twitter at Pete
few Tech. It is Pete feu Tech. Pete. How you doing, man,
I'm gonna put.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
It out there right now to you guys, so on
the record when they steal it from me, when after
all this, Nike or whoever he signs with is gonna
come up with the endure should campaign and he's going
to like legendary nothing can stop me. And then there's
gonna be a whole thing about how he's like, you know,
coming back from this, you know, massive fall from grace.
(18:36):
But yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Did you register the domain?
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Pete?
Speaker 3 (18:41):
I'm sorry registered the domain? Sorry, I didn't mean to
cut off your thank you.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
I should, I should, I should absolutely do that, but
you're this is this is basically I've asked my my
NFL friends or I'm talking about texting about all this
the last few days. But win Shooter is going everything
we can never, at least in terms of the draft
ever ever have seen or can come up with a
bigger fu from the entire NFL to one guy, because
(19:07):
this is he's for whatever you think of him, he
is one of the twenty five best players in this draft.
And the NFL wants nothing to do with the reality
show of the sander Holt Sanders thing.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
You know. And that's the thing, Pete, is that this
you know, and this is We've talked about this for
a few days. A lot of people taking this take,
which is fine because information is free. Is that this
is how much the off the field, the time between
January first and the NFL Draft matter because coming at
off the end of the season, it was hey, cam
Ward Shador Sanders, these guys are going one two. You
(19:43):
see the football that they play on the field, and
it his abs. I mean, hey, you picked the guy
you like more, but these are both top five guys.
But then you had to combine you had getting to
meet the players as you do, and this is when
Sanders began to fall. I think teams show you, hey,
we'll we'll put up with a certain amount of swagger,
but it gets to point where there's too much yeah, Okay,
(20:04):
we're completely backing off. But this is how this is
how January through April matters for NFL draftees.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
I still think he's better. I think he's barely camp ward.
I think he is the best quarterback in this draft.
But at this point, but like it's not now, it
is taken on an even worse life, mitone. So what
happens to your point is he kind of passed like
just a certain like zone where like you said, he's
he's a starter up until if Cleveland takes him with
(20:34):
the first pick in the second round, he's your starter.
Let's go. And then, like you said, things start to
kind of mix a little bit and he keeps sliding
and sliding and sliding, and then you get into the yeah,
backup zone. But it's not just you know, not gonna
get politically or I say this, but it's all the
Dion stuff. It's all the attitude. It's Trump putting something
(20:55):
on truth, social yelling at the NFL general at ms
are being stupid for not taking Sugar Sanders because Diann
is a wonderful man. It's all of it. That's NFL
people don't want to deal with that. The football types
just want to You don't want to just want to
go into a room with dark room and watch film
for sixteen hours in a row. They don't want to
deal with all this, and that's become very apparent right.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Now, Pete. So let's go back room at the top.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
We get cam Ward to start things off, and then
it flows to form save the big trade. Uh, where
was the first uha moment outside the trade for you?
Speaker 3 (21:30):
In the draft?
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Outside of the trade, I was just I guess overall
it's that Cleveland fleece Jacksonville because it is the trade.
But it was just weird value pick after weird value pick.
I guess. Look, Colston Lovely going to Chicago. Everyone loves him.
I know it's gonna work. He played on a team
(21:53):
no offense, that didn't have no throw a forward pass,
so you can't really tell how good he is. But
it's crazy for a franchise. If you look at the
last four years that they've had a first round drivers,
that's three three years if they've had a first round
draft pick, they've had four. But with Doday, the Bears
(22:15):
passed on Caleb Williams for Jayden Daniels for Caleb Williams. Okay,
that's fine. Whatever. Uh, they pass on brock Bowers for
Romeo Donday. That kind of hurts. Uh. They take Justin
They move up for Justin Field, one pick ahead of
Michael Parsons and they trade so they get out of
the shot at Jalen Carter. Uh to get an offensive guard.
(22:36):
So if you think of the Bears over their last
four first round picks, they could have had Jayden Daniels,
brock Bowers, Michael Parsons And I'm like, who I just said, Yeah,
it's it's that's that's rough. I mean, so you'd better
be right about this if Ty Warren is the real deal,
(22:57):
which I kind of think he is.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
By the way, did you love the the video coming
out of the Bears war room Smith? Did you see
this as you've got polls on the phone and there's
absolutely no yeah, excitement clapping anywhere, and then Ben Johnson
comes over the top.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Like he's flavor flame. Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
Yeah, they're fired up. I mean it's a it's a
pretty good draft. They got some I mean, getting Luther
Burden in the second round. That's that's pretty good. I mean,
that's it's it's ant all right, draft, so we will see.
But yeah, it's it's certainly some interest, but it is
the trade. Like you said that, I I I think
I'm still stunned by watching all this. Do people think,
(23:38):
I mean, I'll ask you this, Do people think that
Travis Hunter is gonna be an All Pro at both
corner and wide receiver?
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Yes? Yes, and on special teams? And he's gonna be
the quarterback and he's gonna kick, and he's.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Gonna be he maybe bugs Bunny and Will.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
He's sold tickets, and he's gonna like throw the he's
gonna throw passes to himself when Trevor Lawrence can't.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
I don't saying the piece of the Super Bowl shuffle
right there.
Speaker 4 (24:03):
Pete, Yeah, I mean, I mean he's great now. But
not only did did Jacksonville trade, Cleveland gets Mason Graham,
who is probably about as sure a thing in this
draft as you can possibly get, and probably a franchise
defensive tackle. And on top of this, Cleveland made Jacksonville
pay for their doct soda machine, So like, got it.
(24:28):
They made this deal and for Travis Hunter, who now says,
oh this changes the franchise, Okay, Like he's he's probably
he's a good wide receiver, but is he the number
two overall picket wide receiver.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
No.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
He's good at corner, but he's the number two overall
picket corner. No. And like, if you think he's one
of those two, you're kind of overpaying a lot for
that muffler unless he does play seventy five plays a game,
which he's not because he's not going against Kansas and
Iowa State every week. So I'm sure he's gonna be great.
(25:05):
Whatever position he plays is gonna rock. But there's some
really smart people out there who think that he's going
to be out there for every single play at the
NFL level for seventeen games. And I just don't think
that's happening.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
See Pete, I think you brought up another another point
outside of this that you know goes back is that
Michigan had three players taken in the top thirteen and
Will Johnson gets drafted. Maybe if he wasn't injured, he'd
be drafted. You up there, this goes back and you
say to yourself, Wow, how much malpractice was it for
Michigan to not have a quarterback for twenty twenty four?
(25:38):
You have all these guys going in the first couple
of days and you you stunk last year because you
couldn't get it. You figured out, oh yeah, oh we
need a quarterback. All that's that's just wow. Man, I
look at that in retrospect that I get mad all
over again.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
Yeah, that that kind of hurts because you did have
you did have some guys. And again look where you know,
did the ner Dame guys go off the board early? No,
you know, Ohio stage for being all Ohio statey. You know,
their guys are coming, but they're starting to slide a
little bit. You know, you still got some real big
stars on last year's team that are just sliding on down.
(26:13):
Don't get drafted. But yeah, that's where in the new
modern age you've got to have a quarterback. You know,
it is inexcusable to not have a quarterback. Now at
the level of Michigan is in the transfer portal era.
You know, you know, drop some of that you know,
Fox money you're getting, you know, and just you know,
go put it in the king, Go buy a quarterback.
(26:34):
Go pay for your quarterback out there.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
College Football News do cop College football insider p feu
Tech is our guest Okay, So, speaking of quarterbacks, we
watch cam Ward go number one overall the Titans, the
Giants get Jackson Dart, Shuck goes to New Orleans Mill
Road to the Seattle Seahawks, and Dylan Gabriel love that
right the way? Yeah, okay, so I ask you this
obviously Ward franchise guy to Tennessee the quarterback pick? You
(26:59):
like the post out of the other four guys, and.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
Why is who for the value?
Speaker 1 (27:05):
Well?
Speaker 4 (27:05):
I like, I love Shugs. The problem is, Shug is
probably probably the number one quarterback in this draft. If
you could promise that he doesn't literally break a tollerbone again,
because he's done that twice, broke his leg twice. He's
you know, he's thirty five years old. You know, he's
been around for people. People forget there was a legitimate
(27:27):
not just you know, oh we're you know, lip service.
He was in a legitimate battle for the starting quarterback
job at Oregon with Justin Herbert and obviously lost her
with Herbert, and that's you know, everything goes from there.
But he was supposed to be next. He was supposed
to be you know, okay, well just wait till this guy,
because he's got all the tools. He just had zero
(27:48):
injury luck whatsoever until this year. He's able to stay
healthy at Louisville and was good, not amazing, but he's
got it. I love the jail. Like Dylan Gabriel, you're
drafting a backup. I mean, at that point, what are
you doing? Just get get over yourselves, draft Shador and
if you do, is the best quarterback you've got and
you play them. But I love Jalen Milrope. That works.
(28:09):
You know you got Sam Donald's not us. You're not
gonna win us. You're gonna win friends with Sally. You're
not gonna win a super Bowl. Sam Donald. We know this,
so yeah, you know it works. You know, we picked
Russell Wilson in the think it was the third round
several years ago. And now you've got this guy who
he's got all the skills, he's got all the talent.
(28:30):
It might come together. He's one of those guys who
could end up, you know, Matt flinning Sam Donald up
there in Seattle, Pete.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
How quickly do you start updating your twenty twenty six
draft boards.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
It's right up. We have the top hundred picks up. Well,
there you go, sweep it's the Art sweepstakes and Kale
Down Kale Downs is actually the best player next year's draft.
But Art is arch and so uh Now, it's a
lot of edge rushers again, a lot of speculation, a
lot of quarterback question marks out there. And no, by
(29:03):
the way, you want to talk about malpractice, I'm not
going to call out names because he's kind of works
you guys. Uh, how does a whole panel on a
NFL draft broadcast not know that? Or Sanders can't just
go back to college?
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (29:18):
I liked I liked the theory, though, Pete to just say, hey,
it's anarchy. I make my own rules and you run
around like the kids in uh, you know Jersey.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
You can't just go back now, I mean, Warren, come on,
Warren Moon gave his jersey to cam wored the way
where Moon gave the Tennessee Titans jersey to cav Woard's, Pete,
what you can do that in college? By the way,
you can declare for the draft and keep your eligibility.
(29:51):
You can't do that in college football.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
No, how about this though? No, I like this. What
are the odds not taking the first two days of
the draft. He opts out of the NFL entirely. I
go make my way in Canada, be a star, and
come back. At some point. I'm not gonna play in
the NFL. I'm done.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Yeah, can you see the Yeah, that would be Actually
I can't, I can't even do it. Yeah, but yeah,
he'll be drafted. Someone's gonna be like, all right enough,
But you've got the problem is you don't have in
the new modern NFL. You don't have a you know,
a Don Shula or you know Bill Belichick, or someone
(30:26):
who's just an absolute, you know, the authority, figure of authority.
Maybe Andy Reids as close as you can get, but
you don't have that that coach who can just withstand
all in any of everything that comes with the Shador
Sanders and all that coming there. But again, he's he's
good enough, He's give it a shot. I mean, I
(30:47):
still think if you are Pittsburgh, if you're Tampa Bay,
you know, make the Baker Mayfield thing's gonna happen for
another year or so, and then who knows. I think
there's a lot of teams out there that's like, all right,
can we deal with Shadur And they're gonna be like, yeah,
someone will take him early tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
He's on Twitter at Pete feu Tech. That is, at
Pete feu Tech College Footballnews dot com. You're one stop
shopping for everything college football. Pete is always buddy. Appreciate it, man,
We'll talk to you next week. You got it, tom
great stuff from Pete feu Tech that may maybe gets
taken tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Maybe may remember though, Jason.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
I mean, Pete's a big shador guy. But he didn't
go like everybody else. He didn't sound like he was
tearful for him not being selended.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Time to find out what's trending in the wide world
of sports, from special Delivery Steve to Sega Esdy what
you got.
Speaker 6 (31:39):
I didn't hear the word disgusted like mel kiper tonight.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
You didn't answer for ten minutes.
Speaker 6 (31:46):
By the way, you were talking about retired jersey numbers
last night. The Giants first round pass rusher Abduall Carter
says he would like to wear number fifty six. Lawrence
Taylor told The New York Post, I know he'd love
to wear that number, but hey, I think it's retired.
Get another number, he said, I don't care if it's
double zero, make it famous, but yes, quarterback Shadoure Sanders
(32:09):
still on the draft boards going into the final day
of the NFL Draft, rounds four through seven tomorrow. Other
quarterbacks also available tomorrow Kyle McCord, Will Howard, Quinn Ewers,
Riley Leonard, and others. We did have in the second
round Tonight, Quarterback Tyler Shuck taken by New Orleans. In
the third round, quarterback Jalen Milroe of Alabama to Seattle,
(32:31):
and the Cleveland Brown selected quarterback Dylan Gabriel from Oregon
against Sanders of Colorado, not yet selected to the NBA playoffs.
About three minutes to go third quarter at Minnesota, Timberwolves
lead the Lakers eighty to seventy eight, despite twenty seven
points from Lebron James Luka. Doncich has been battling illness.
He has ten points in this game, eight assists, five
(32:54):
turnovers for Doncic. Earlier, Milwaukee beat Indiana one seventeen to
one oh one. Gary Trent Junior of the Bucks thirty
seven points from three point range. He was nine of twelve.
Orlando edge Boston ninety five ninety three despite thirty six
points from Jason Tatum, who returned after the Bruce wrist
Tatum did have seven turnovers. John Morantom Memphis is reportedly
(33:17):
out Saturday due to a bruised hip. Golden State's Jimmy
Butler is questionable for Saturday night after his fall to
the NHL playoffs. They're threw the first overtime, still tied
Carolina at New Jersey even at two. The LA Kings
down two to nothing and early have taken the lead
at Edmonton three to two. Late second period. Montreal got
(33:37):
on the board in its first rounder, beating Washington's sixty three.
In Major League Baseball, the Reds are holding on eight
to seven at Colorado in the ninth inning. Braves lead
five to one at Arizona in the bottom of the sixth.
The Marlins are ahead at Seattle eight to four. In
the bottom of the eighth inning, Paul Skens and the
Pirates lead the Dodgers three nothing in LA and the
(33:59):
bottom of the fifth. Couple of those runs were unearned
after a throwing air by LA third baseman Max Muncy.
The Padres are getting shot out at Home bottom of
the eighth, Rays one nothing over San Diego. Toronto scored
three in the top of the ninth to beat the
Yankees and closer Devin Williams four to two. Washington with
two in the bottom of the ninth defeated the Mets
five to four. Kansas City won its fifth straight rainouts
(34:22):
at Detroit and at Cleveland. They'll each try doubleheaders tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (34:25):

Speaker 1 (36:17):
The Jason Smith Show with My best friend, Mike Harmon
my upset special. So it's been a really rough night.
Shador Sanders not taken in the first three rounds of
the NFL draft.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
That's what we do it Shiloh wor down? Oh, what's
the prop bet? Does Shiloh get drafted before Schador?
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Let's shoe.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
I don't think Shiloh's getting drafted. I just wanted to
have some fun running Jason, you had, you had Schador
getting drafted. He isn't over yet, I mean drafts. Well, okay, uh,
where's the best spot? Because there is a great destination
(37:01):
for him. Where now that he's a day three guy.
Obviously we talked about his future. You don't go in
being a day three pick and you get a path
to start. You have to hope that things really work
out for you somehow, some way. You gotta really hope,
and it doesn't happen that often. Right, we came up
with eight guys taken outside the third round that wound
(37:23):
up really starting and having good careers in the last
sixty years of the NFL. Right, but there is a
great spot. It is a spot with a strong organization
and culture, one of the strongest cultures. They can deal
with outsized personalities and they know what it's like. They
it's a big market and they have the best head
(37:43):
coach in the NFL. If he goes to the Rams,
he can be Matthew Stafford's eventual successor. As long as
things go right, right, he's gonna come in. Not somebody's
gonna play right away. It's a great fit. I can
see him and Dion saying, this is a great fit
for us because you know the Rams, Hey, Matthew Stafford,
(38:04):
we like him. But every years, I don't know if
I want to play. Maybe this is it for Stafford.
Maybe it's one more year after this baby, but playing
under Sean McVeigh, who is one of the most quarterback
friendly coaches you'll see in the NFL. And again, he's
the best head coach in the NFL. Everything else the
Rams have going for them. They bring in guys every
year it's like, Wow, that guy did this, and that
(38:25):
guy did this. You know what did I say? They
brought in a lot of crazy and it's worked out
for them. Right now, you're bringing in someone who's got
an outsized personal that's gonna take over when he walks in.
What team can keep that in line to the point
where it's hey, it's not a distraction and it's the
best thing for the player going forward. The Rams are
that team. There's a couple other places that I think
(38:45):
could draft him. I think the Raiders might be an
okay landing spot for him. They got a pretty good
culture in there now with with Brady as there, you know,
Shador is gonna pick Brady's brain, he'll be involved, and
Pete Carroll is there like everything the Raiders did. But boy,
the Rams you're talking about where shaudor Sanders can go
and it be the best part for his NFL future.
That's the place.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
Well, I mean you talk about the invisible hand of
Tom Brady to stay with the Vegas thing. Really briefly,
he had plenty of opportunities to say all right, now's
the time bring him in. He still hasn't done. It
doesn't mean it won't happen tomorrow, but certainly, you know
there might be some trust issues that they develop at
that point based on prior conversations with McVeigh. I mean,
(39:28):
it's a good thing twice. I mean, we're responsible for
Sean McVay being the coach of the Rams first with
Eric Dickerson and the end of Jeff Fisher. Sorry Jeff Fisher,
but something had to change bringing McVeigh in. And then
when it looked like McVeigh was gonna leave, and I
mean he was gonna become part of the Fox family,
so that'd have been great, but he wouldn't have been
on the sideline. We bullied him back in saying you
(39:49):
can't leave after one know, what the hell are you doing?
And he went back and the rest is history. But yeah,
you've got to have places, and we've talked about it.
Where you've got You've got to be able to take
a swing and if it misses, it's not gonna cost
you your job, because that's the thing with a lot
of coaches in GM.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
You're also working.
Speaker 5 (40:09):
Your jobs with some level of fear that the wrong
pick gets you oustered. You know, not just because the
media and the fans and the message boards like draft
day of the movie, but the reality of you've got
fickle owners that don't give you a lot of time
to let things just date and work their own path.
So if it doesn't work right away, you're out and
(40:31):
the next guy gets to go and choose a new
path through the organization. You don't have many of those
in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
You really don't.
Speaker 5 (40:38):
You've got Baltimore interesting, you know, future maybe there behind
Lamar Jackson. But yeah, the Ram Sean McVay is there
as long as he wants to be at this point.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
And there's and there's no reason why this should come
in and be something that upsets the team because it
needs to be. It needs to be a team because
now he's coming in not really so much a curiosity,
but as someone who, okay, you're getting great vac. Look,
I still think he should have been the second guy
off the board right watching him play, he's just that talented.
But obviously there's stuff out there. But the way the
Rams can deal with drama and just kind of brush
(41:14):
past it is incredibly impressive. And they've been doing they've
been reloading on the fly for the better part of
the last eight years. And it's a couple of Super Bowls,
one of them a championship that they've been able to
pull off. And they they should have been there. They
should have beat the Eagles in the playoffs last year.
They should have won that game. I mean, right that
that should have been a w Right. This is how
strong a franchise they are, and they'd be able to
(41:36):
come and get you to her Sanders, and potentially Sanders
could be Matthew Stafford's success for a year, two years.
I mean, maybe things gotta go right, but that's the
place to go to say, Okay, you're our guy, we
want you to be the person to succeed him, and
that that's the best place for him to end.
Speaker 5 (41:50):
I don't know how well he'd do with bright lights
and in Los Angeles.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
Coming up next, we got more from the NBA play
playoffs and a big Bowld prediction for another quarterback in
the NFL Draft. Keep it here, Jason to Mike, this
is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Just
