Speaker 1 (00:30):
Hello, Welcome in side hour two The Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Who thinks my way and my Way is terrible.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Livethtirack dot com Studios, tirec dot com, I help you
get there, an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free roadhazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers tyrack dot com. He
is the way tire buying should be. All right now,
NCAA Tournament UCLA having no problem with you. Tah State
sixty three thirty nine, under eight minutes left to goal

(01:04):
of more on this game coming up in a few minutes. Meanwhile,
Saint John's on top of Omaha thirty three twenty eight
at halftime, Michigan forty one twenty seven on UCSD and
Texas Tech with a twenty one to twelve lead over
North Carolina Wilmington right now, this game on True TV.
Uh And I will say this really quick about Texas Tech.
I would have picked Texas Tech to go to the

(01:26):
Final four because I mean, I think they're they're a
sleeping giant team.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
But they play in Saint John's bracket. I would have
had that bracket.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Would I would have had them coming out of a
bracket against Duke, but they're in Saint John's. I'm like, well,
Saint John's is gonna win all.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I mean, that's second. Come on, it's my boyhood, your
team by Johnny. So I couldn't pick him to go
ahead of Saint By.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
I mean, once you went to Syracuse, didn't that you know,
kind of wash that off?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
It did? It did?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
And I'll i'll and I'll tell you how the very
first game, like I didn't know, Like I'm okay, Syracuse
basketball is great because because heyres is the bad guys, right,
And I grew up rooting for Saint John's. I told
you the story if you weeks ago at the Big
East Tournament with when Saint John's beat Syracuse and how
crazy everybody was about it, like Saint John's my team,
and that was Chris Mohen and Mark Jackson.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
It was.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
It was so good. And I grew up my whole
life watch Saint John Saint John's and then Walter Berry
and the and it was Boo Harvey and Michael Porter
and that big backcourt that followed after and going to series.
I'm like, okay, Syracuse, I'm in right, I'm in I'm
in football, I'm in right. I was in right away football,
I was. It was so great, right because you know

(02:29):
football on Steinleland is Wagner College.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Right, So that's it.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
So then Syracuse is playing Saint John's and you know,
go go to the Syracuse games for the first few
months of the season and you know, thirty thousand people
in the dome and it's incredible. It's incredible atmosphere. At
least it was until we stink now. But then Saint
John's comes to the Dome and I'm like, okay, how
am I gonna be? And and one of my best
friends and I we went to Syracuse together and we

(02:53):
were both Saint John's fans, and I'm like, what are
you gonna do? I'm like, I don't know man, like
I don't know, I don't know what to do. And
Jayson Williams was the star for Saint John's, and the
very first play of the game, very first play of
the game, it was like it was off the opening tip,
like it got batted around and Jason Williams got it

(03:13):
and went in for a slam dunk, and both he
and I just kind of stared there, stone faced and
kind of looked at each other and said, Okay, I
guess I guess that's it. We're Syracuse now. Like that,
I didn't know I was gonna react. How am I
gonna feel? Am I gonna be that guy?

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Yeah? Saint John's.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
I'm the guy in the stands rooting for the other
team and I'm drunking on making all kinds.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Of fun and uh but it's like, okay, no, this
is that's it. It's over now. Saint John's the bad guys.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Now for the bad guys, all right, Like in Friday
Night Lights when suddenly, hey, Dylan, No, Dylan's a bad guys.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Oh, dealing with the bad guys. He's stilling, Yeah, he's dyaling,
Yay the bad guys.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Do I make the obvious Williams connection thereafter, I just
let that guy.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, well you have to explain them.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Too much. Just look about Jason Williams and all those
are the stories. One thing that matters.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
And oh, I know we're gonna hear right here, we're
gonna hear a little bit of R. J. Lewis or
Saint John's the only highlight that matters from tonight so far.
Go ahead, Frostburghni their leading.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Score forty one times. He's when they're leading Reboulburn forty
nine times. Bronnie gets into the lighted start Lakers TV.
Bronnie j Yes is in the game.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
The Lakers really they're starting five tonight is absolutely insane. Uh,
they are getting thumped by the Bucks right now, thirty
four to seventeen. This is the last of the Lakers
six games and eight nights run.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, but we would have had a full on Barkley
Shack kind of moment if someone would have said, slap
down a hundred Bucks and said name that's starting five.
Just by looking at.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Him, it is I'm telling you man, this this starting five?
Who is I mean?

Speaker 1 (04:51):
It really it looks like that that dead time for
the Lakers, like right after right after showtime, and then
right after Shack got traded, where you're like.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Oh man, this is this is really difficult.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
We already got six minutes of action for shake, Milton
m Broni's out there, he's got three points. Trey Jamison's played. Yeah,
Cam got off the bench. He hasn't been seeing in
a while. Yeah, it's Simon.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Doing interviews and getting everybody uh now. And I want
to say this because we joked around about this, but
how right are we going to be?

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Again? We're ahead of the curve? What have I told you?
For the last week We've.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Watched Lebron James hanging out at Bryce's championship games and
all kinds of stuff.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
What did I tell you?

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Lebron James will be miraculously healthy when the Lakers six
games an eight night run is over. They have the
Bulls Saturday, right, And and I can't I can't blame
him because like, look, I need I need time to rest, right,
I need time to rest.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Taking time.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
This is a ridiculous run. It's an absolute ridiculous run
that the Lakers have to play. Any team has to
play six games in eight nights.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
It's just stupid.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
I just really wish he hadn't pointed that out in
his social media posts, but that suddenly disappearing.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
But that was why it was.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
He was letting everybody know when he spotlighted, hey, six
games and eight nights coming up, this was I ain't
playing in these games, right because I get it. But
I told you he's gonna miraculously be ready to go
when the Lakers finish their six games and eight nights.
And what do we see today, JJ Reddick said, my buddy,
my best friend, JJ redder Val, expecting Lebron to return
on Saturday, told you told you, told you so, told

(06:25):
you so. That was a big Will and Gray scene
when she doesn't told you so, dance, told you so,
told you He's gonna racularly celebrate the entirety of the
Megan Malali. He's doing splits on the floor when the
sun is playing. Yeah, he'll be, He'll be, He'll be
healed of the great Saturday.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I mean that was like, I mean, who are your
favorite dancers of all time?

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Seven? Just kidding, Danny Terrio, this is by design, right, miracle? No, miraculous, No,
that's what I did you.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
See me beinges in that miracle?

Speaker 3 (06:59):
I didn't see anything.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
This is This is the equivalent of when you were
a kid and you tell your mom at eight o'clock, I.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Can't go to school today. I feel terrible. I feel awful.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
And then to three thirty you're like, hey, feeling and
I go out to play. I got to play, and
then I go to school tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I feel like it felt better as the opening of
The Price Is Right came on, Yeah, kids.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Are playing football. I'm I'm okay.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
I watch back to back episodes of The Brady Bunch
in Gilligan's Island, and I watched The Price Is Right.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
I'm ready to go at three thirty yelling mom, where's
the damn meat loaf? True, you're needing the meat loaf.
That's sustenance.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
So NCAA tournament again today has been more about the
fun of the tournament than it's been about the drama.
Like we had the drama of McNee state. We had
the big take last hour, gave you the big hot
take for Cooper Flag a few minutes ago. But a
couple of really crazy things happened today, And the first
one is clearly fun because I look at this and
I go, oh man, this is really something.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
This was from earlier today, Brian Anderson announcing announcing the
game earlier today and was doing a promo, right, you know,
you get it, Hey, coming up on the next episode,
on the new episode of Doctor Odissey, Doctor Odyssey, you
know finds that the Hey.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
I got to watch the second part of the Shark episode.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, all right in the Orca and uh yeah that
show I did? Did they do the Orca? Wan to know?

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Well, they did the first half. I think the second
half it will come. So yeah, I'm ready. Oh all right,
I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Yeah, So during the Creighton Louisville game, it's time from
to read a promo for new TV show coming on.
And the TV show is Mobland and it says it
right on the screen, It's Mobland with the day and
time you see a million times great stars since looks
him promising. Yeah, here's Brian Anderson making that announcement. One
times He's been there, leading rebounded forty nine times.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Bronnie gets into the light start but first.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
By akers, that's gonna be rings, is gonna be is
gonna be Bronny scoring.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
I'm sorry, it's the only highlight I got it's a
ring to it's a ring to all.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
He's got his Brodny James.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
It's like Burhalter having Panama his ringtone after tonight it's
d D D. Come on, let's reenact the video. And
he's got he's got the hair dryer. He goes, oh right,
he's in the middle.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Of a church service and just yells, oh yeah, wait,
come on, where's the sanctity?

Speaker 3 (09:18):
All right?

Speaker 1 (09:18):
So here's Brian Anderson reading the promo for again Mobland.
And when you see Mobland, onto okay, Mobland, that's what
it is, except maybe it's not Mobland from the underworld.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
If Guy Ritchie comes Moblands, I'm sorry, Tom Hardy, Pierce Broslin,
Helen Mirren go inside the Harrigan family as they try
to stay on top of a criminal empire.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
You can stream at March thirtieth on Paramount.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Not only did he blow that, but he put an
s on it. Moblin's Moblends, Moblends, Moblends and he had
and all the as you said, look at that great
cast on there for Moblin.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
That's a fantastic cast that you put together.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Helen Neared, would you like to do Mobile what?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Sorry? Hang I got a moblet. Oh yeah, yeah, that
I'll do sure, all signs on.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
We got Venom. We got that guy from what was
in Black Adam? What was he he was?

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Uh oh yeah yeah? Is he gonna play? Well? So
we got James Bond.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Okay, great, We've got Venom or is he gonna be Eddie?

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Is right?

Speaker 1 (10:21):
We got the okay for Mobland Mobland. Now I understand
that there's times. Look, you and I doing what we
do for a living. There's stuff we get to read
and and it's a promo that's just handed to us.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Here.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
I read this right now, read this, read this, And
there's sometimes where if there's a word, you get stuck.
But it's a word that's a little more difficult than Mobland.
I mean, how do you think Mobland is one of his?

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Yeah, there's usually a little more mobile.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Do this though, right, it's all right at this, you're
gonna you're gonna do this read so usually in.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
A little bit of preparation, it's Mobland.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Then there are certain surnames.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
He got Helen Mirren, he got Tom Hardy writing everything else? Right,
but mobile here, let's hear one more time, play one more.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
Time from the Underworld, if Guy Ritchie comes, Mo Blennys, sorry,
Tom Hardy, Piers Broslin, Helen Mirren go inside the.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Harrigan family, or Travolta kicks his ass wickedly talented dizzy.
The fact that Guy got Guy Richie right, Guys Brosden
got all those names right except Moblin's Mo Blennys. But yes,
I think that's my favorite part is the s he
throws in there at the end, like, man, I thought,
did I get it wrong?

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Moblin, Moblin Blennys.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
It's a borderline, you know, Tysher's greatest hit of Layoff
the Weed and TJ Boblins.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
That's what happened. When I went in. I said to
my barista, Hey, how about giving me Mo blens of
what I want to drink in my coffee? You shut
UPJ Mo Blennys.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
I'm going to Moblins Memphis, Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Like that sounds like Modell's Like, and you said, for
the next game, gotta go to mos gotta go to Moblin,
soblin Snoblin's.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
I really I couldn't get enough of that. What did
he just say? I'm like, oh, that's gonna be vir.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
You know what if he'd just gotten it right, we
wouldn't be.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Talking about it, so, Moblin.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
And when when I was younger, and I've always you know,
thought about this, like it's not a big fear of mine.
But whenever you get a script that says something and
it's a word you don't know, or it's really like
what what do I say? Like how do I talk
around this? But again, like I said, normally it's something
worse than that. And maybe I'm I'm more attuned to
it because when I was a freshman. Wow, I'm taking

(12:39):
it back speaking to college.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
So I'm a freshman.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
And I'm doing news for the first time, and I'm
I'm on in mornings, right, So I'm doing news. This
is before I hosted the show. And I'm doing a
news update and someone got extradited to it was a
news story and so and so was extradited to the
United States from Panama whatever.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
It was a yeah, Moblin, so and I screwed it up.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
And I because what I had written in my in
my copy was extradition. And so I'm doing it. And
of course my dad is listening to the first time
I'm on the air. He's very excited. And I said,
and and here's happened for the extra dice? And I
and I finished, and I go, oh, I just said
extra dition. I go, okay, well, maybe no one's listening.
My dad picks me up and he goes and he goes,

(13:27):
how's it going? I said, yeah, first time I saw him,
like all day, how's it going?

Speaker 3 (13:30):
A good?

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Good good. It's either extradition or extradited. Extradition is not
a word. I'm like, oh, I feel like like this tall.
Now I'm like, ah, so you're listening Dad, that's all right, Well,
thanks for listening.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
I mean it's more than I've gotten from many members
of the family for years.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Brothers are big supporters. Here's happened for the extra dice?
And there's it's like it was right from the update. It'
sounds Hey, there's a big sale at Moblen's. Come on
down Saturday. It's by two pair of underwear, get one freeze.
I thought you were gonna say extra and that he
was kicked out. It's buy one sock, get the other
sock half priced, all right, that Moblin's come down Tomorrowlan

(14:13):
Loblin Moblin from the mind of Guy Ritchie it's Moblin Extradition. Wait, Moblin's,
you want to say, Minecraft? Okay, all right, I guess
we'll go to Moblin's.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
That's fine. Well I want to see that on a map, man.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
I'll tell you so. We have more from the NCA
tournament coming up next though. Hey, the other big highlight
of the day involved a water bottle getting thrown on
the car. I'll tell you where we're headed, plus more
from the big day one straight ahead, Jason and Mike.

pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Started out bad, Saint John's was getting blanked. Was seven
nothing in the first five minutes of the game, but
then they rally pretty fast and that halftime Patino speech,

(16:59):
Now the.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Game is a runaway.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Saint John's fifty oh.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Maha thirty three.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
The moving on to the second round of the tournament tonight.
Patino wear that white suit. Saint John's continues not to lose. Well,
I feel a lot better than Mike Carmen ibex hailing
my breeding, my national champion. Saint John's University has taken

(17:38):
this really bad first half.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
We saw Rick Patino go to the locker room like
he was gonna kill somebody.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
And that must have been some halftime speech because it
has been all Saint John's in the second half. Fifty
to thirty three is your score right now.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
R J.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Lewis now leading the way for Saint John's with thirteen.
It has been a pretty across board, a good game
for Saint John's. They're shooting better, They're playing better, and
they are showing, Look, we are the better team. It
doesn't look like there's gonna be an upset here. And
I connect shale homa. Three of twenty two from three
point range?

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Is that good? And I think they hit two of
them in the first like minute of the game.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
No, I was, look, it's gonna be a slot, It's
gonna be a Oh no, just keep shooting. It's the
only chance we have on They shot themselves right out
of this game.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Yeah, so Saint John's with the lead.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Right, and again I feel a lot better I found
out because I've been all I'm as excited. I gotta say,
I'm as excited for Saint John's in this tournament like
I am normally for in Syria. I say normally we
haven't been in four years. Uh when Cyril graduating class, Dude,
that I was thinking about that earlier today.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
They are kids who went to Syracuse that.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Hey basketball royalty here we are that are gonna graduate
in the spring and and they will not have seen
the team play in an NCAA tournament.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Parents probably paid extra for some for some package of tickets.
Oh yeah, for not only their kid, but for themselves
and and they got nothing.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Yeah that's a that's a uh, it's it's name. Well,
at least you get McCord. You get to see former
Syracuse stars like Cadari Richmond and Kadeer Copeland star in
the NCAA tournament.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
So there is that.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
And they got that commercial where Comelo Anthony gets the statues.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Yeah, yeah, it works. But look again, it was easy
to just sit back and it's just the last couple
of weeks, just just all the memories. I'm like James
Earl Jones and in Fielded Dreams. You know, the memories
will be so thick they'll brush them away in front
of their faces like fireflies. Ray Like, I'll just thinking
back to all the great times I had rooting for
Saint John's when I was a kid, and just I mean,

(19:39):
because they haven't been this good since then, because they
were a dominant team when I was growing up, and
it was fun and we talk about the Big East.
Oh we missed the Big East. Yes, you think Syracuse Georgetown,
but it's Saint John's and Yukon. It was this incredible
conference and you know, now obviously that's gone by the wayside.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
But I mean I'm just I'm just.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
So all in on this now, and I maybe because
I'm just so desperate because I haven't seen a turn
have a game in four bleeping years.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
But like it's easy, so easy for me to get
in on Saint John's here.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Yeah. I gotta say, though, I'm a little salty because
that means with every new memory, it's kind of like
inside out right where stuff starts getting pushed to the
uh it just goes away.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Yeah, you know, big bong bing bomb.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Bing bong, you're behind. He had a good run. But
all of that to say, you start losing the ability
to just introduce Saint John's and all it is Chris
Mollan highlights.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Yeah, yeah, back when it was mop top.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Yeah, but Chris Mollen before the flat time, when there
was no three, like Chris Mallen is good.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Remember there was no three at that.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Think about how ridiculous he would have been.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Oh my god, wow, like a Chris Mollen. He would
have been like Pete maravich Man. He would one of
those guys. He would have scored like forty a games.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Just remember watching him as a kid man, my little
brother like emulated like he was a really good shooter.
Unfortunately you've met my family. We don't have a lot
of height running around. But man, can he shoot?

Speaker 3 (21:00):
You have to shoot? We you don't have height, Yeah,
you gotta. That was me.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
I was a point guard when I played. That's how
I could shoot and I could distribute.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
That was it.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
That's what I did. Couldn't it the mid rage jumper.
I wasn't that guy I was gonna. I was more
of a when I got close in for a layup
or a one hander or a little bit of it,
you know, get a friendly rim roll. But then I
shoot a three. What did you say, friendly rimroll? Friendly
rim roll? What did that sound like? I said, no, No,
I just wanted to hear you say friendly. I got
the friendly rim roll, friendly rimroll, friendly rimroll.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Normally it's I've never heard of rim roll.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
It's almost like Scooby do Remember Pretty remember Raggy bugging
Wattle on red Water on white whatever?

Speaker 2 (21:38):
You're in the night. Yeah, go back and watch these
Scooby Doo movies.

Speaker 6 (21:43):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Meanwhile, things a little bit closer for Michigan, and you
see San Diego. All of a sudden, the Wolverines offense
with Alex Orgy at quarterback.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Not wow for that Wow.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Michigan. They led this game ten to nothing after five minutes.
Now it is a forty two to thirty six game
with seventeen minutes left to go in the second half.
And oh, by the way, I told you how much
I like Texas Tech. They're struggling with North Carolina Wilmington
thirty five thirty one with a minute to go in
the first half. And I'm telling you there's something to

(22:22):
the psychology of teams knowing, Like, look, when you're sitting
around waiting all day to play the NCAA tournament, Yes
you're getting ready, but you're on your phone, you're watching
the games, You're seeing what happens. When there's a day
of no upsets. It's gotta be in the back of
your mind, well, there's gonna be up. We don't want
to be that upset. And the and the underdog team
is like, we're gonna be that team, right. The law

(22:42):
of average says we're gonna get an upset at some point, right,
We're gonna get up.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
That.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
I gotta fact, I would I wish there was some
kind of psychologist thing to look at the teams that
play at night that play the last group of on
the first two days of the tournament that played the
last four games. What the odds are that you saw
those teams getting upset because you're seeing teams like Texas
Tech should be having no problem with North Caroline Wilmington. Again,
I told you I would have taken Texas Tech to
the final four if they weren't in Saint John's bracket.

(23:06):
Michigan should be wiping up the floor with Uce San Diego.
I think it's the first basketball game you see San
Diego has played, and some how they got in the tournament. Still,
it's a six point game early in the second half.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Twelve oh run, last two minutes, twenty seconds now a
three point game. But to your point, Yeah, you sit
around all day and for four days since the brackets
came out, all you've gotten is everybody washing you up
real good about how great you are and how you're
going to be the team to crash through and break through. Michigan, certainly,
alongside Michigan State, a lot of love for what they've

(23:38):
been able to do this year. For Texas Tech, they're
one of those darlings. Right What we have like maybe
six or seven teams that people were picking to win
it all and Texas Tech was part of that bubble.
So yeah, as you sit around all day long, something
to it and your opponents have heard it.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
Right.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
That's the other thing is that that all goes up
on the the opposite white board of all right, we're
giving no chance. Look what the point spread is. You
guys had a hell of a run. Go out there
and play basketball, you know, roll the ball on the
court and see what happens. And they've come out with
great intensity, good offensive sets, knocked down a couple of shots,
and what do you do? Everybody puckers.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Meanwhile, Ucla, as we said, a big win for them. Look,
this is this has been a game that UCLA looked
like they were in trouble a little early in this game. However,
they just absolutely rolled past Utah State seventy two, forty seven.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
And I mean it.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Ucla has two speeds. They have two settings in the
NCAA tournament. The first setting is losing the first round. Yeah,
that's the The second setting is have an unexpected run
to the Elite eight. Like, that's the only two settings
you have for UCLA. It's either losing the first round
unexpected run to the elite eight.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
That's all you have. That's the only thing else.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Well, and you got angry. Mick cronin his dad was
there enjoying it. Good old hep getting it done, eighty
three years old, the fixture at the games, and you know,
gets a lot of celebrity and shoutouts. And we give
him one here because they spent an awful lot of
time looking in the crowd, especially as this one got
more and more distant. And it's not nearly as entertaining

(25:15):
to watch McK crone. And if it's not a close game,
he's pretty boring.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Once. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You want
UCLA to underachieve, then you get the full Mick, Yeah,
the full cron.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
I mean, look, we talk about the NCAA, but what
is a big part of the entertainment value?

Speaker 3 (25:30):
The volatility of the coaches?

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Sure, right, Calipari losing his mind into the final minutes
of their game, great theater, Patino the first half of
this game, great theater. Right, you could have done a
picture and picture watching him and how many times he
adjusted the knot in his tie.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Now, we talked about this earlier in the show. We're
going to get into it now. One of the biggest
moments of the day happened during a time out between
Creighton and Louisville. Louisville had gotten called for a technical
foul and it was when the game was slipping away
and the Blue Jays were on there a twelve point
lead late in the second half. They were gonna win
and move on. Louisville was gonna lose. Then Louisville fan

(26:12):
got a little upset, and again he's as.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Intense as his player.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
I'll come on, come on, somebody threw a bottle of
water on the floor.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Unnecessary. That's gonna be a clean up here. There's come on, man.
That was a full bottle of water too.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
That was very dangerous and it went right over the
crazy bench.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
I'll tell you whoever did that, this should never be allowed.

Speaker 6 (26:37):
And to come into this in the Louisville side, I mean,
whoever sitting next to that person or in that section
needs to And then the police are going up there
right now to go handle the situation.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
That's a joke. It's unnecessary.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
You tell him, Jim Jackson, you tell them, CBS on
the call there you see the replay, the bottle just
flies out of nowhere off the baseline. They have to
stop the game to clean it up. And you know,
luckily it was a full bottle of water. Luckily it
wasn't thrown at someone, although a couple of people said,
I kind of saw it hit the ground and maybe
felt a little bit of water coming out of it,

(27:09):
but luckily nothing happened. But I'm telling you, I don't
want to be the old guy at the gas station
telling the teenagers don't go in the woods and have
sex and smoke dope because there's a guy there where
the machelle It's gonna kill you, but I will because
we're gonna get to a point where all of a sudden,
there's gonna be netting or some kind of boards up
at every professional sporting event. Right we're already seeing it

(27:30):
in Major League Baseball with the netting. You're gonna see
more up now as players as fans want to be
part of the game. I can't believe Major League Baseball
didn't put something more in coming off the Mookie Betts
play from the World Series with the Yankee fans. But
this is what we're gonna get to, and there's gonna
be something that happens. That's gonna be really unfortunate that
all the leagues are gonna say, well, all these court sides,

(27:51):
see all these different things. We now have to have
glass partitions up. We don't have the unobstructed view like
you did, because we just can't trust it anymore. We
gotta make sure that everybody is safe, the players are safe.
And this is what we are now like as a society.
We're angrier than we've ever been, right, We're angry.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
All the time.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
Well, look at the dopes attacking cars.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Yes, people wake up angry that angry, angry at sports,
angry at everything. And we just can't behave at games
like we used to. And I'm telling you it's coming
and it's gonna be something weird again. You would think
the Mookie Bets thing would be enough, but okay, uh,
but that's what's gonna happen in the next Within the
next few years, you're gonna start seeing all the professional sports. Uh,
not the NHL because actually have the the glass might

(28:30):
go higher in the NHL, but you're gonna see it
at basketball games especially. It's gonna be a big sight
because you're not gonna be able to trust that everybody
can behave on the sidelines.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
So it's that curiosity of like, what's the tipping point, right,
because we've certainly from college football, college basketball, the storming
the court, storming the field issues have been long debated, right,
And we've had a couple of incidents of players taking
the opportunity and their frustration as they walk off to
maybe give a forearm show to someone passing by. But

(29:01):
we've certainly had some scary incidences. Obviously, go to tennis
and you've got people being stabbed on a court. So
we've had a long history. Hell the White Sox Royals
game where you had the first base coach getting attacked.
So I mean long history of it, and you just
wonder what's the tipping point. And while this is an
innocuous thing and nothing transpired and came of it, it's

(29:25):
another data point. It's another piece to the equation of
all the things that need to be considered when you're
staffing and you're around me, think about how many of
these guys now have their own security detail, plain closed
guys that are already around you. Yeah, it's not a
fan behind Jessica, got ready to taser your ass if
you make one false step your way may help solve

(29:46):
some of that.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Telling you man, I'll be the old man. Oh there's
a guy, he's in the way. Do you know me?
You friends will know we just had this. You know
understanding that I need to make a living and he
doesn't come kill me. I don't go in the woods
and try to help anybody. So we're good. You have
an understanding.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
He and I.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Did you watch that Josh Hartnett movie too? Is that
what's gotcha thinking about this?

Speaker 5 (30:07):
No?

Speaker 1 (30:07):
I saw that movie once and I thought that it
was a trap to get me to watch it, so
I'm not seeing it again.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
I saw about five minutes of it. No, and eleanor
my older daughter, who loves just seeing all the movies
all the time, came down and said, don't just don't
get I'm saving you. Watch another episode of the Simpsons
or Law and Order. Save yourself.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
Oh No, trap was the end? Trap?

Speaker 1 (30:31):
The absolute words, that is so bad? Uh, time now
to find out what's trending in the wide world of sports.
From someone who's been compared to being the Josh Hartnett
of Fox Sports Radio, she doesn't want to see trap
anymore either.

Speaker 7 (30:45):
I was like I didn't disappear and then just reappear
years later.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
Wow, get you, Josh.

Speaker 7 (30:52):
Yeah, I did watch Trap, and you're right. I don't
know why I didn't. I don't know what I was thinking.
Like they literally tell you what it's about.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Going into it, right, you know, the worst trailer ever.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Yeah, we saw the whole movie.

Speaker 7 (31:04):
Yeah, saw and I still was like, yeah, I'll see
what this is about.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
And it was not good.

Speaker 7 (31:11):
It just did it had nothing else to it besides
the trailer. And so yes, I wasted my time.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
I mean, I'm hoping and launched his daughter's music career,
really hoping that happens.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
I forgot why the movie was made.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
I forgot about all of that. You are so right
that she is in that.

Speaker 7 (31:27):
Uh she like saves the day, the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
She doesn't save the day. Spoiler to stop it.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
You're not going to watch it, Josh.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Hart is a bad guy. That's not the trailer. Stop it,
stop it.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
She just cursed it you in Spain.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
I no, I didn't. I said k I said shut
up or be quiet? Whatever is that cursing?

Speaker 7 (31:46):
Curs like you said karate Yet that will stop in
listen after you startet started started talking smack to Saint John's.
I think you little fire up their butt, Jason, because
ever since that Saint John's has just been on cruise control.
So two seed in Saint John's is up on fifteen

(32:08):
seeded Omaha sixty six to forty four, nine minutes left,
halfway through the second half.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
It's a close that one. That would be sat Jawn
since yes, that's good, it's good.

Speaker 7 (32:21):
Weaving in with about thirteen minutes or halfway through the
second half.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
It's a close one.

Speaker 7 (32:25):
Between twelve seed you see San Diego in five seed Michigan.
Michigan is up forty seven to forty four at the half.
Third seed Texas Tech has a slight lead over fourteen
seed UNC Wilmington thirty eight to thirty four at the half.
Seven seed UCLA crushed ten seed Utah State seventy two
to forty seven. Ten seed Arkansas survived seventy nine to

(32:46):
seventy two against seven seed Kansas. This is the kansas
first loss in the first round since two thousand and six,
ending the second longest streak of advancing in tournament history.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Eleven seed Drake hailed on to beat sixteed Missers sixty
seven to fifty seven.

Speaker 7 (33:01):
The Bulldogs are moving on to the second round for
the first time since nineteen seventy one, and eight seed
Gonzaga crushed nine seed Georgia eighty nine sixty eight. Gonzaga
is going to face one seed Houston on Saturday. The
Cougars won their matchup earlier today, and so did one
seed Auburn. They beat sixteen seed Alabama State eighty three
to sixty three.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
We're all check in on the NBA listen.

Speaker 7 (33:23):
At one point, Bronnie James was the leading.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Scorer for the Lakers. Let's check if that's still the situation. Okay,
he is the leading score for the Lakers. He's got
eight points right now off the bench.

Speaker 7 (33:34):
The Lakers are losing to the Bucks at halftime fifty
seven to forty six.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
That's going to.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Replace the Taylor Swift banner, the half that Brodny led
the Lakers in scoring.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Stop.

Speaker 7 (33:44):
Late in the third quarter, Bulls and Kings are tied
at eighty Also late in the third Raptors have taken
the lead from the Warriors eighty two to seventy nine.
On the ice, the Capital's edge of the Flyers three
to two. Alex Lovechkin with gold number eight hundred and
eighty eight, so he's seven goals away from breaking Win
Gretzky's all time goals record, and the Lightning edge the
Stars three to two in a shootout.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Back to you guys, Ah, thank you as marso No
no as mess.

Speaker 7 (34:15):
Mesta portes huando.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
Monstros. Oh you guys got that?

Speaker 2 (34:32):
No, No, what that was all about. I don't understand
every word she's saying. I don't know if I have
to do the instantaneous translation or not. She didn't give
you the monstros with a full.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Well because I asked her, is March your favorite month
of the year and she said no, it's what is
your favorite month?

Speaker 3 (34:49):
October? I said, oh, orange, and she said yes. And
the monsters, monsters.

Band Sanitizer a docuseries following music bands trying to break

(36:58):
with firings, tryout and the mayhem.

Speaker 3 (37:01):

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Is that a True TV show? Banned sanitizer, stand up

How good are these shows? Why are they not on there?
These shows are fantas? This is perfect And you have
sports takes. You're in the wrong industry.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
Shows are fantastic because you know what I do is
I used to try to come up with the idea
for the show and then come up with a title.
It's much easier come up with the title and then
fit a show around it. I wonder if that's how
it's done in Hollywood. Was he just like a Joaquin
Phoenix movie. Hey, I got a title for a show.
What's it called Doctor Odyssey? How about we make it
a doctor who's at c for a long time on

(40:10):
a cruise liner. That's a show called Don Johnson.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
See it's Doctor out at Sea Odyssey.
