The Nuggets had never been to an NBA finals. They've
just won the title, taking Game five, four games to
one the series over Miami. Tonight's final ninety four eighty
nine and guys Jimmy Butler, with his thirteen straight points
for his team late in the game, got him a
lead with about two minutes left eighty nine eighty eight,
and Miami did not score in that last minute fifty eight.

Tonight Butler with a costly turnover with under thirty seconds
left and attempted a three in the possession after that
when he didn't need to miss that. After each of
those moves, they had to foul Denver, which wasn't making
free throws, did make the free throws after that five
point Denver win. The Nuggets are NBA champions.

Ninety four to eighty nine the final, Denver Nuggets NBA
World Champions. Not how you thought it was gonna go. Oh,
thought somebody would at least get to one hundred points.
We didn't get that. But instead we got a lot
of defense, yeah, a lot of questionable shots.

We have Jimmy Butler giveth and Jimmy Butler taketh away, but.

Terrible, got himself trapped and then play that he did
to the Nuggets nine thousand times they got him on.

But Nikoliokich leading the Nuggets with twenty eight points, sixteen boards,
four assist to what I'm sure is going to be
a unanimous NBA Finals MVP.

the Heat lose this game?

Well, just ask Eric Spolstra, because you know, according to
you know, Ramona Shelburn, he doesn't like that question about

Look, let's break down the biggest play of the game,
which which happened with just with with under twenty four
seconds left to go, The Heat were able to crawl
back in this thanks to an extremely generous foul call
that was allowed to stand. Jimmy Butler kicks Aaron Gordon
where the sun doesn't shine and somehow.

Gets three free throws.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
He made walked in front of his leg, did not
walk in front of him, just that he didn't stop.
Just you're gonna look at it, You're gonna feel, You're
gonna feel ridiculous.

You know, he didn't happen.

It was a bad call, It was a horrible call,
but it kept the Heat in the game. Hey, people,
people staying in tim I'm not I'm not tuning out
because the heater back in the game, so that he
get back in the game. And then it's then a
back and forth battle for the next couple of minutes,
really really entertaining, and the Nuggets are able to take
the lead. Yolkic is able to make a shot down

low and the Heat have the basketball again. Not a
lot of offense in this game, but Butler had has
been really hot, right He scored with thirteen straight points
for the Heat, you know, part of three of those
free throws in there. Butler still has it going on.
Bruce Brown makes a shot to give them a one
point lead with a minute and a half left to go,
and then KCP hits a couple of free throws with

twenty four seconds left. After a Jimmy Butler turnover, Jimmy
Butler has two plays. We're going to break down here
over the course the next couple of minutes. Butler takes
the ball down to the rack and they're down three
with again with with with this much time left, and
Jimmy Butler throws the ball out to try to get

it out because he's stuck because he picks up his dribble.

It was a bad pass right now, I'm gonna say
it was.

It was a bad pass, and Contavious callwell Polpe is
able to jump in front of it and then get
fouled and go down and make the two free throws.
But it's not like any of his teammates really, you know,
busted their ass to get open for they were I mean,
because that's that's what happens. Okay, Jimmy's going in for
a shot. Wait, he doesn't have the shot. What do
we do? Nobody is moving around, So yes, bad play

by Jimmy Butler one hundred percent.

But at the same time, the Heat, who.

Are so really well coached, because everybody says this, the
Heat is still very well coached, don't find a way
to move around and at least keep the ball alive.
So they're down one Butler turns it over. Now they're
down three after KCP hits both free throws. Now the
Heat called time out with twenty four seconds left to go,
so they have a full time out to draw up
what they want to do, and they draw up a

play where they inbound the ball and they don't need
to go for three because there's twenty four seconds left.
It's an eternity in the NBA. You think, okay, let's
go in for a quick two. We foul because why
wouldn't you because the Nuggets weren't making free throws? Why
would you not put the Nuggets at the free throw line?
I get that they made it. They made a couple
there at the end. KCP made two and Bruce Brown

made two, but they've not been making them all night.
How do you not extend the game and put them
on the free throw line?
Speaker 4 (05:57):
So they inbound the ball.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
They have the ball right at the top of the arc,
and then Jimmy Butler breaks free for a catch and
turn three with about seventeen seconds left on the shot clock.
That has no prayer. The Nuggets get the rebound. It's
two made free throws by Bruce Brown and the Nuggets
are NBA champions.

What the hell did the heat draw up on that?
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Really, it didn't look like they knew like they want
anything they wanted to do, because they seem like, well,
are we gonna hold up and try to go for
a three?

You know, milk some clock and get somebody open for
a three to tie the game, or what are we
gonna do? Or no, we're gonna try to get down
and get a hoop with like seventeen eighteen seconds left,
and instead Butler takes the ultimate heat check shots head
to their heat check, and it doesn't it's not even close,
and the Nuggets win. I don't get those last couple
of plays. The heat melted seed to there again, the

heat melted on the two biggest possessions of the year
when and they just handed the game to the Nuggets.
Here the pressure is too much, whatever it is, we're
gonna hand you this game. The turnover and then the
shot by Jimmy Butler. I really I'm watching the heat
going wow, maybe they were just done. Hey hey, hey,
Denver Nuggets, Congratulations your NBA champions.

I mean, I guess you hit a point where we've
talked about this with other superstars and we're certainly not
suggesting or I'm not that Jimmy Butler's there, even though
the star did shine really bright for a while. But
scoring thirteen straight points, balls in his hand, all right,
Jimmy's gonna go to work. In other words, you get

caught star watching like we've seen with Lebron and Jordan
and so many others. All Right, they're in a zone,
they're taking it to the rack. They're gonna do whatever,
and not anticipating he's gonna pick up his dribble, because
picking up the dribble there made no sense either, right,
And Cacp, as they said, he filled the passing lane
like Jimmy Butler had so many times, especially towards the

end of the first half when they had a bit
of a surge there as well, So makes no sense.
But Cacp makes both free throws again an outlier on
what was a difficult night from the foul line. And
for the shot, you get the inbound it goes through
to Butler, who gets it to Robinson, back to Butler

who tries to shoot over Gordon. Now Gordon isn't gonna
get anywhere near getting kicked in the nether regions again, uh,
And Jimmy's gonna have an opportunity to shoot, but he
does enough to get hand up and do a flyby.
And the SHOT's awful. It's a bad it's a bad shot.
Both teams shot miserably from three point range, and this

was just the icing on the proverbial cake here. Since
I know you like cake so much, whether you go
and get your McDonald's celebratory cake because now they're celebrating
Grimace's birthday. I don't know if you saw that latest
Brian Come's birthday.

So you can get a good purple shake in the
whole night yard, I guess. But either way, the voiceover

still good. But that that shot was awful. And then
there's just again a lot of standing around. Brown goes
and makes the free throws and that's it. You get

another three point attempt from Kyle Lowry that just adds
to the misery from the statistics standpoint. But the final
couple minutes of the game, unable to score, the Nuggets
finally hit a couple of free throws and all of
those things that you laud. He heaping praise onto Eric
Spolstra all season long and certainly during these playoffs. Right

an eight seed wins again, how many games have they
come back from a double digit deficit? Well, here they
look like they just rolled the ball on the court.

winning four, they should have won it four. It's not
my fault. They screwed us on. But your prediction was
my prediction. No, my prediction was actually right, and the
Nuggets were the ones that said, no, we don't want
it to be right, so we're gonna make it happen
the other way. No, I was still right. I was
still right. It wasn't my fault. I was telling the
Nuggets lost the game by by fifty and it got

out shot. No, they just decided, ah, we don't need
to play or would have been a boy fifteen. Yeah,
we're gonna give the game away. No, I turned out
to be right about that. It was then that screwed
it up. Like my prediction was absolutely correct. They screwed
up the result more than I did the prediction.

the Western Conference era of the Jazz and Nuggets is
on the way. Well, the era of the Jazz may
already be here hashtag take note. Now the Jazz got dismantled.

They never got there, and Mitchell has gone, Rudy Gobert
is gone. Everybody was gone. But coming off of the
the Lakers championship in the bubble, hey, they looked like
they were the two teams that were up and coming
that you weren't going to be able to stop Jokic
on his way up. He was an MVP caliber player already.

Then he won two and then could have won this
year and didn't. Jamal Murray was terrific, but then he
got hurt. He missed a better part of two playoffs.
After that, the era of those two teams could have
been there. The Jazz didn't get there. They traded away
their two best players. COVID happened, they didn't get along.
Gobert and Mitchell had to be separated. And then Mitchell
wanted out and he thought he was going to be
a Nick and they said, no, screw the Knicks, We're

gonna send him to the Cavaliers because we just don't
like the way. The Knicks thought like we were gonna
get him. But I told you two years two and
a half years ago, the era of the Nuggets was coming.
And if you think this is gonna be a one
and done for the Nuggets and all they get their championship, Uh,
just what's gonna tell you that you think the Nuggets

are done? They're young, their core is young. Their two
best players are young. Jokicic is in his twenties, Joe
Murray's in his twenties. This is gonna continue on. They're
gonna get other players to fill in the gaps because, hey,
if I'm a guy who's a three or a four, hey,
I want to go there. I want to play with
these guys and win. They seem like they are pretty unselfish.

Yokich is someone who talks about his teammates a lot.
There there's no as great as he is. There's no Hey,
you know, there's only one basketball like there isn't a
lot of places.

The Nuggets had never been to an NBA finals. They've
just won the title, taking Game five, four games to
one the series over Miami. Tonight's final ninety four eighty
nine and guys Jimmy Butler, with his thirteen straight points
for his team late in the game, got him a
lead with about two minutes left eighty nine eighty eight,
and Miami did not score in that last minute fifty eight.

Tonight Butler with a costly turnover with under thirty seconds
left and attempted a three in the possession after that
when he didn't need to miss that. After each of
those moves, they had to foul Denver, which wasn't making
free throws, did make the free throws after that five
point Denver win. The Nuggets are NBA champions.

Ninety four to eighty nine the final, Denver Nuggets NBA
World Champions. Not how you thought it was gonna go. Oh,
thought somebody would at least get to one hundred points.
We didn't get that. But instead we got a lot
of defense, yeah, a lot of questionable shots.

Selection shots selection was terrible.

We have Jimmy Butler giveth and Jimmy Butler taketh away, but.

Terrible, got himself trapped and then play that he did
to the Nuggets nine thousand times they got him on.

But Nikoliokich leading the Nuggets with twenty eight points, sixteen boards,
four assist to what I'm sure is going to be
a unanimous NBA Finals MVP.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
The Nuggets are your world.

Champions now, Jason, he only had four assists. How did
the Heat lose this game?
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Well, just ask Eric Spolstra, because you know, according to
you know, Ramona Shelburn, he doesn't like that question about
you know, hey, Yokic can do his thing.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
Doesn't like that.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Look, let's break down the biggest play of the game,
which which happened with just with with under twenty four
seconds left to go, The Heat were able to crawl
back in this thanks to an extremely generous foul call
that was allowed to stand. Jimmy Butler kicks Aaron Gordon
where the sun doesn't shine and somehow.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Gets three free throws.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
He made walked in front of his leg, did not
walk in front of him, just that he didn't stop.
Just you're gonna look at it, You're gonna feel, You're
gonna feel ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
You know, he didn't happen.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
It was a bad call, It was a horrible call,
but it kept the Heat in the game. Hey, people,
people staying in tim I'm not I'm not tuning out
because the heater back in the game, so that he
get back in the game. And then it's then a
back and forth battle for the next couple of minutes,
really really entertaining, and the Nuggets are able to take
the lead. Yolkic is able to make a shot down
(03:53):
low and the Heat have the basketball again. Not a
lot of offense in this game, but Butler had has
been really hot, right He scored with thirteen straight points
for the Heat, you know, part of three of those
free throws in there. Butler still has it going on.
Bruce Brown makes a shot to give them a one
point lead with a minute and a half left to go,
and then KCP hits a couple of free throws with
(04:16):
twenty four seconds left. After a Jimmy Butler turnover, Jimmy
Butler has two plays. We're going to break down here
over the course the next couple of minutes. Butler takes
the ball down to the rack and they're down three
with again with with with this much time left, and
Jimmy Butler throws the ball out to try to get
(04:37):
it out because he's stuck because he picks up his dribble.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
It was a bad pass right now, I'm gonna say
it was.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
It was a bad pass, and Contavious callwell Polpe is
able to jump in front of it and then get
fouled and go down and make the two free throws.
But it's not like any of his teammates really, you know,
busted their ass to get open for they were I mean,
because that's that's what happens. Okay, Jimmy's going in for
a shot. Wait, he doesn't have the shot. What do
we do? Nobody is moving around, So yes, bad play
(05:04):
by Jimmy Butler one hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
But at the same time, the Heat, who.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Are so really well coached, because everybody says this, the
Heat is still very well coached, don't find a way
to move around and at least keep the ball alive.
So they're down one Butler turns it over. Now they're
down three after KCP hits both free throws. Now the
Heat called time out with twenty four seconds left to go,
so they have a full time out to draw up
what they want to do, and they draw up a
(05:30):
play where they inbound the ball and they don't need
to go for three because there's twenty four seconds left.
It's an eternity in the NBA. You think, okay, let's
go in for a quick two. We foul because why
wouldn't you because the Nuggets weren't making free throws? Why
would you not put the Nuggets at the free throw line?
I get that they made it. They made a couple
there at the end. KCP made two and Bruce Brown
(05:51):
made two, but they've not been making them all night.
How do you not extend the game and put them
on the free throw line?
Speaker 4 (05:57):
So they inbound the ball.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
They have the ball right at the top of the arc,
and then Jimmy Butler breaks free for a catch and
turn three with about seventeen seconds left on the shot clock.
That has no prayer. The Nuggets get the rebound. It's
two made free throws by Bruce Brown and the Nuggets
are NBA champions.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
What the hell did the heat draw up on that?
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Really, it didn't look like they knew like they want
anything they wanted to do, because they seem like, well,
are we gonna hold up and try to go for
a three?
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Are we gonna try to to?
Speaker 1 (06:28):
You know, milk some clock and get somebody open for
a three to tie the game, or what are we
gonna do? Or no, we're gonna try to get down
and get a hoop with like seventeen eighteen seconds left,
and instead Butler takes the ultimate heat check shots head
to their heat check, and it doesn't it's not even close,
and the Nuggets win. I don't get those last couple
of plays. The heat melted seed to there again, the

heat melted on the two biggest possessions of the year
when and they just handed the game to the Nuggets.
Here the pressure is too much, whatever it is, we're
gonna hand you this game. The turnover and then the
shot by Jimmy Butler. I really I'm watching the heat
going wow, maybe they were just done. Hey hey, hey,
Denver Nuggets, Congratulations your NBA champions.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
I mean, I guess you hit a point where we've
talked about this with other superstars and we're certainly not
suggesting or I'm not that Jimmy Butler's there, even though
the star did shine really bright for a while. But
scoring thirteen straight points, balls in his hand, all right,
Jimmy's gonna go to work. In other words, you get
(07:28):
caught star watching like we've seen with Lebron and Jordan
and so many others. All Right, they're in a zone,
they're taking it to the rack. They're gonna do whatever,
and not anticipating he's gonna pick up his dribble, because
picking up the dribble there made no sense either, right,
And Cacp, as they said, he filled the passing lane
like Jimmy Butler had so many times, especially towards the
(07:51):
end of the first half when they had a bit
of a surge there as well, So makes no sense.
But Cacp makes both free throws again an outlier on
what was a difficult night from the foul line. And
for the shot, you get the inbound it goes through
to Butler, who gets it to Robinson, back to Butler
(08:12):
who tries to shoot over Gordon. Now Gordon isn't gonna
get anywhere near getting kicked in the nether regions again, uh,
And Jimmy's gonna have an opportunity to shoot, but he
does enough to get hand up and do a flyby.
And the SHOT's awful. It's a bad it's a bad shot.
Both teams shot miserably from three point range, and this
(08:34):
was just the icing on the proverbial cake here. Since
I know you like cake so much, whether you go
and get your McDonald's celebratory cake because now they're celebrating
Grimace's birthday. I don't know if you saw that latest
Brian Come's birthday.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
I didn't get him any.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
So you can get a good purple shake in the
whole night yard, I guess. But either way, the voiceover
from the legendary Brian Cox, he can't swear, but it's
still good. But that that shot was awful. And then
there's just again a lot of standing around. Brown goes
and makes the free throws and that's it. You get

another three point attempt from Kyle Lowry that just adds
to the misery from the statistics standpoint. But the final
couple minutes of the game, unable to score, the Nuggets
finally hit a couple of free throws and all of
those things that you laud. He heaping praise onto Eric
Spolstra all season long and certainly during these playoffs. Right

an eight seed wins again, how many games have they
come back from a double digit deficit? Well, here they
look like they just rolled the ball on the court.

You know what this guy what this means? Guys here,
what's know what this means? Right? What's that? DeAndre Jordan

they were the two teams that were up and coming

on his way up. He was an MVP caliber player already.

year and didn't. Jamal Murray was terrific, but then he
got hurt. He missed a better part of two playoffs.
After that, the era of those two teams could have
been there. The Jazz didn't get there. They traded away
their two best players. COVID happened, they didn't get along.
Gobert and Mitchell had to be separated. And then Mitchell
wanted out and he thought he was going to be
a Nick and they said, no, screw the Knicks, We're

gonna send him to the Cavaliers because we just don't
like the way. The Knicks thought like we were gonna
get him. But I told you two years two and
a half years ago, the era of the Nuggets was coming.
And if you think this is gonna be a one
and done for the Nuggets and all they get their championship, Uh,
just what's gonna tell you that you think the Nuggets

are done? They're young, their core is young. Their two
best players are young. Jokicic is in his twenties, Joe
Murray's in his twenties. This is gonna continue on. They're
gonna get other players to fill in the gaps because, hey,
if I'm a guy who's a three or a four, hey,
I want to go there. I want to play with
these guys and win. They seem like they are pretty unselfish.

Yokich is someone who talks about his teammates a lot.
There there's no as great as he is. There's no Hey,

and they gush talking about this guy and how unselfish
he is, and and what a team kind of guy

I'm going home. I mean, that's about as simple as
it gets.

signed for a minimum of two years. You got Jamal
Murray for two more years before you start looking at

you've got a nucleus ready to go, and if you
can get guys like KCP and and KG veterans that
fill it out, you're ready to roll.
