I'm getting in shape. It's gonna be a little bit.

Yeah, I think he'd like to keep in some modicum
of the conditioning, knowing that you're getting back on the

and I got to think at this point, maybe that's
something that will be revisited in the off season simply
because look, the Lakers know they need a big like that,
and you weren't able to get one of the you
thought you had your guy. I wouldn't be surprised if
that got revisited because they're filing a grievance. Well, it's
embarrassing for the Lakers to go, yeah, no, we're happened to.

How do you feel about his medical? Look, we said
it when the trade happened. What an amazing talent he is,
but he's got injury issues, right, I don't know. We
feel fine about the medicals. Oh yeah, failed the physical? Wait?

Wait when we liked the medicals because of what they
told us until we actually saw the scans and ran
theoms through the paces and that was it, right, Because
I mean, his availability rate rivals that of Joel Embiid,
who we talk about quite a bit and went on
the court and you can't teach seven feet right, and
he was going to be the lab partner and all
those things, which is why it was so important that

about Williams and he said a lot of great things

out of the game after seven minutes played again five points,

At some point you think he's going back and I
don't know, mal wait, wait, he's actually laying on the

to say that to you want to look, I feel
like disclavered. This was satire in comedy. But you know,

look as we you know, look back at the Super
Bowl yesterday and and you know, try to give you
a different stuff than what you've heard all day about
the Super Bowl. After the Eagle's dominant performance yesterday, Yeah, clearly,
you know they were able to turn the tables two
years after getting smacked by them thirty eight to thirty five.
The big penalty at the end, the holding penalty by Bradbury,

the winning field goal for the Chiefs. The Eagles blew
a big lead in that game, and the Chiefs were
able to come back and win. But I wonder, okay,
I wonder looking at the game yesterday and seeing the
strengths of the Eagles were still the same strengths yesterday
that they were a couple of years ago. I really
I wonder if the field was different two years ago,
(07:48):
if we wouldn't have seen a very similar game to
what we saw yesterday. Because if you remember, the big
story of Super Bowl fifty seven was the players were
slipping the slider on the field the entire game, right,
They slipping at the entire game. The offenses were the offenses, right,
The Chiefs offense was great, the Eagles offense was great,
but the Eagles defense, really it was it was almost
(08:09):
like the slipping and sliding sort of leveled the playing
field because the Chiefs defense was pretty good a couple
of years ago. But I gotta say the Eagles defense
was a hell of a lot better, right. I mean,
this is this is a team that two years ago
was number two in yards allowed per game. Kansas City
was middle of the pack. They were number one in
(08:30):
passing yards against per game, kansaity middle of the pack.
They were number three in turnover differential. They were number
one in sacks, Kansas City was twenty second. So the
defense of the of the Eagles had a huge advantage
over the Chiefs. And yeah, the Chiefs, all this attention
we made, all the chief they got, they got there,
they got their offensive line better, they signed Joe Toney,
(08:50):
all these things. But I really wonder, because the offense
is pretty much went up and down the field at will,
if the field wasn't so slippery, if we would have
seen exactly what we saw yesterday day, two years ago,
and it would have been wow, look at the Eagles
defensive line owning the Chiefs. We saw that in the
Super Bowl with the with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They
were able to because they did the same thing yesterday,
(09:11):
did exactly what Tampa Bay did three years ago when
Brady won for the last time. Right, no matter what
the Chiefs did, it was the it doesn't matter. The
offensive line was able to create pressure without blitzing, and
you win a lot of games when you can do that.
If you can create pressure without blitzing, you win a
lot of games. And it was the same thing for
the Chiefs against the Tampa Bay Bucks that it was
against the Eagles. They just kept doing the same things.
(09:33):
There was no creativity. There was no let's do something different,
let's try something to get something going. It was just
let's try keep doing the same things and and and
try to you know, eventually get something different to happen.
That's not going to because when you just keep trying
the same things over and over again, that's the definition
of insanity. You're just expecting a different result. That's what
(09:53):
would have happened. That's what happened in both those Super Bowls.
And I got a feeling it probably would have happened
two years ago because but the but the defense, you know,
when you're sliding, when you got to react, it's always
tougher on the defense that it is on the offense
when you have a slippery field. Right. That's why in
snow games, it's not about the defense, it's you get
that slick field. It's about by the time you get
to the middle of the fourth quarter, every other play is
(10:13):
a seventy five yard slant for a touchdown because the
defender can't stay with the wide receiver. It's such a
huge thing to come back from and I almost feel like, yeah,
that leveled the playing field way more than we thought
it did a couple of years ago. And if it
was a field where nobody was slipping around, we probably
would have seen an Eagles victory.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
All I remember going back to the big play that
kept getting shown on the Saquon Barkley highlight reel in
the snow. Right, you had three guys that tried to
contact them, but they had no opportunity to really get
any footing or force on any physicality there. So he
just sprints straight through and off to daylight, going back
into the antles of history. Of course, we have to
(10:51):
go back and find George Toma, the sod father for
the explanation as to what happened is that they'd watered
it down and then they installed before it was dry.
That they didn't give it enough time to take care
of business, hence owing to the slipper. Look, we get
into how big your spikes are, right, did you need
to change that out to get yourself better grip, better
(11:14):
opportunity there to cut some of it?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, just that margin.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Is such the difference one step and gone in having
to plan right, you get a guy leaning one way,
that's two two hundred and thirty forty pounds leaning one way.
Hard to do the breakneck speed and get back into coverage,
especially the way the offense is set to where it's
spread out, So I mean the recovery of a safety

or a linebacker to get back into the play to
give help in pursuit. You know, it's an extra ten
to fifteen yards, or maybe you're on a full sprinted daylight.
So yeah, the fast track certainly an advantage here. And look,
the Chiefs game plan was sorry to be the best.
I joked with you off air, It's like, well, no, Matt,
(12:02):
naggy jokes about getting him a job this year or
anybody stumping for him this time around, right, because they
got obliterated and they had no answer to try to
slow down the defensive front. They were not going to
be helped by any slippage because anytime Mahomes held the ball,
he was getting drilled and then it was a step behind. Right,
(12:22):
how many times did he throw behind a guy who
was pretty open?
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Right, Like he had opportunities. He missed a lot of throws.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
And I get it you're sped up because of that pressure,
but your your field comparison and analysis. I think it's
an interesting point to go back and really watch that
Super Bowl in full, to count how many, like we
do with officials, you know, how many would have could
have should have penalties? Same thing here and would be interceptions.
(12:51):
We love that static stat for quarterbacks we hate so
remember that the almost interception because what happened, Hey, Mahomes
almost through that because now we're on he's a heel now,
so we got that all lost interception. But it's very
much that, right, It's it just becomes a much different
watch when you anticipate, Wow, these guys are really struggling and.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
It changes the play calling. So Kellen Moore looks like
a lizard, do no and look. And the thing is
is that you can say, well, the field affected both
teams the same way. Okay, okay, I understand that. But
when you when you take a side of the football
that is way more dominant than the other team and
you even that out because it could be you and
I could have a race and you could be way
(13:36):
faster than I am. But if we're running over ice,
who knows who can win? Right, that's taking us down
to the to the basic level of whoever can stand up.
This is not about the fact that you were faster
than me, because your advantage is taken away because we're
running on ice. Now picturing that scene from Batman where
by walking out on the ikes, right. But so that's
really when you think about what the Eagles did well,
(13:56):
that's getting to the quarterback and sacks and turnovers and
yards allowed. They had gotten beat like that all year.
But the advantage was clearly on the offense. And both
offenses played great, right, the Eagles offense, which is not
quite as good as the Chief offense. That leveled the
playing field a little bit. There was a field goal
game at the end. But defensively, wow, that was a
big advantage for the Eagles with what they did. It's
(14:18):
the same team, the same tenants, the same principles that
they were able to do yesterday. And really, if the
field wasn't something where they were slipping and sliding, do
the Chiefs come back at some point? Does that happen
or it looks a lot more like yesterday with Mahomes
getting hit throwing the ball and it's not a great
Chiefs run. Not that the officials you know, told Chip Toma, hey,
(14:38):
make sure this field is like it's going to help
the Chiefs. But really, I look at that Super Bowl
way differently now than I did. Where what's the big
takeaway from the Super Bowl yesterday? Well, it's the defensive
line of the Eagles and what they were able to do.
You look back at that Super Bowl, what was the takeaway? Well,
the holding call on brad Bury at the very end.
Now it's the holding call and the field so slippery,
(15:01):
and how much did that help the Chiefs? Again, referees
didn't do it. Unless they did. Referees didn't do it. It's
just a thing that helped the Chiefs more because they're
what they were worse at as the Eagles that really
got sanded off.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Yeah, and there's you know, certainly we'll get some angry
responses from Chiefs fans at how about a Prescott swollen?
Don't bring them all the same, I love hate. Just
keep listening and keep evangelizing the friends and family. We
got to impress the Polsters. But the idea being that
you're looking at a squad and the Eagles right strength
(15:36):
all across the board, right, we know they've built the interior.
It's like your Jets used to have the plethera of
defensive linemen back in the day. Right, that's what you
were known for. That's what the Eagles have been like.
They built the guts well each and every time and
last last time out costly turnover, change of events and
(15:57):
then one or two big plays, some slip which became
one of the big hallmarks of the game yesterday, dried true,
playing fast, trusting your back seven because well our four
are getting home like I don't think any like, you know,
we talked about it briefly. I was in here doing
the show that I do with the Bucky and Andy
Fox Football Sundays and was talking to Bo Benzon, one

of our producers, and Chris Prophett and we looked at
each other and we just had that moment of what
if this becomes a Seattle Denver game? Slow percentage, small
percentage on the pie chart, but what if it does?

of anybody really paying attention, because you know it's the Jazz.

the twenty fifth. So a couple of nice warm up
games the All Star break before we get to reality.

moving on from Aaron Rodgers after they call him to

fly cross country to tell them we're not going forward
with you. He made a house call. Look, first of all,
I was wrong. I thought for sure, and I've said
it many times. Rogers is going to be the quarterback
week when even the quarterback week one. But this gets
into this gets into that, and clearly the Jets said, okay,
we want to start over again. So thanks Aaron, but
we're going to do something else. Now, there's two takes

from this, and the first one is that is that
when I said, Okay, why did I think Rogers would stay?
Is because who else are you going to get? Right
from the Jets perspective, what you're saying is, Okay, we're
not going to bring Aaron Rodgers back, which means we're
not going to bring DeVante Adams back. And now you're
looking at a Jets team that traded two second round

picks and two third round picks for guys that aren't
even going to play there next year. Good luck? Right,
So now the cupboard is bare, and who are you
gonna get? We're gonna the Jets will probably likely go
after a veteran signal caller in free agency. Oh there's nobody, man,

here I am the day after the bleeping Super Bowl,
the day after Super Bowl when I should be thinking
about next year, and already I know twenty twenty five
is gonna suck. That's a tough message to send to

a fan base, right this early in the offseason, where
it's like, hey, guess what, guys, next year is gonna suck.
We just had a dozen years of suckage and suckitude
where nobody could get it right and is another starting over?
And I get we had to start over. I understand
all of that, but boy, that's a tough message man,
the day after the Super Bowl to say, hey, guess
what stick with us? We're starting over again. Yeah. I
understand you guys are new, but this is now twelve

years one of the most embarrassing streaks and sports, and
now you're telling me that twenty twenty five is gonna
suck because we're a quarterback is gonna be a get
by guy? Right, That's a that's a tough thing to swallow. Man.
If you want to tell me, if you want to
get through free agency and get through the draft, and
you see how the team is being drafted, Okay, I
kind of understand where we're at now. You're getting to
the end of April, beginning of May. Teams have the

mini camps, you get your rookie class in. You see
how things are going with free agency? All right, yeah,
I see what we did. I see the direction, right,
I kind of understand. But boy, the day after the
Super Bowl for you to be told, hey, guess what, Yeah,
the two big guys we went out and said, spend
draft picks to go get They're not gonna be here.
There's no solution out there. If there were any quarterbacks
out there, I would say, Okay, well, at least we're

gonna get one of the quarterbacks and we're but there's
nobody out there. They're not gonna go get Kirk Cousins
not gona be the same thing they just did with
with a guy injured, coming off a devastating injury and
find out he's no good. So what are you gonna do?
Like it's a really it's it. I can't tell you
how rough it is to be told right away, hey,
guess what, We're gonna suck next year? All the Jets,
merchandise shops, NFL shop, Jets stuck on. Everything should be

half bleeping price, because come on, you tell me, I
gotta play full price for a team that's gonna suck
next year because I know they're gonna suck.

So when we next talked to our friend, friend of

is out there. Well, if two of your former quarterbacks
lead the parade, right, if Minnesota doesn't bring back Sam Darnold,
if Denver doesn't bring back Zach Wilson, those are the
two guys with the highest amount of money. Kirk Cousins,
after lying about his injury and the way he kind
of refused to talk about it any further with reporters

from Atlanta this week. I think he lost a little
bit of some of that you know, face thing. He
might have turned a little bit of a heel in
this regard, like wait a minute, you can't bring that
up and then suddenly clam up saying you're not doing
any media. I think you owe us a bit of
an explanation here, all these guys that covered press, press
releases and all those press conferences.

And everything else. Beyond that, what do you got? What
do you got?

I mean, look to your happiness former Syracuse quarterback McCord
more and more. He's shooting up draft incredibly, and they
got Kyle mccroibick. Okay, that he's probably going to be
a back end first, early second at this point of
the latest reports. And that's fine, It's exactly what we
said was gonna happen.

Eventually you start seeing more quarterbacks in the mix and
in the buzz. But like for Rogers, he's gone. You've
got Travis, You have no idea. He wasn't able to
play no. And then the rest of the market place
probably didn't help either that you had the Mike McDonald
quote and not anything related to the Doobie brothers, uh
saying yeah, we can win with Gino Smith. Yeah, so

not only are you getting kicked to the Aaron Rodgers
Like wait, we're resetting again. Yeah yeah, yeah, I get
a new GM, new coach. Whatever, We're gonna suck what
you're telling me. We get to have this, you know,
year of waiting. By the way over there, they're telling
us that our former second round pick Gino is a
guy they think they can win a super Bowl with.

That's great, you know. And and and the thing is
is that it's it's not about it's not about something
that I disagree with. It's not something, but it's really
that's a really tough message to send that. Yeah, hey,
here we are the day. It's still February, and you
know how bad twenty twenty five is gonna be? Right?
Like it's And it's one thing if hey, we were

at real good, big heights like three or four years ago,
and then we tried to keep it going. It didn't
work out, So now we have so now you're gonna
have a tough year. I get that, but it's been
tough for over twelve years. Man, My entire forties and
I'm into my fifties now, I haven't seen a playoff game.
Come on, man, we I guess we have to keep
doing the show until that happens. I got no I

were but again terrible, unsurprising, but terrible. The unsurprising a

little bit more surprising, you don't know how much, but unsurprising, terrible,
but we're gonna see. I feel like when when William
Hurt says it in a Harry Potter he did terrible
things with that wand Voldemort great but terrible. You know

up one day and just decide to trade him. There
was stuff going on. I don't think he's done anything

I'm getting in shape. It's gonna be a little bit.

Yeah, I think he'd like to keep in some modicum
of the conditioning, knowing that you're getting back on the

embarrassing for the Lakers to go, yeah, no, we're happened to.

How do you feel about his medical? Look, we said
it when the trade happened. What an amazing talent he is,
but he's got injury issues, right, I don't know. We
feel fine about the medicals. Oh yeah, failed the physical? Wait?

Wait when we liked the medicals because of what they
told us until we actually saw the scans and ran
theoms through the paces and that was it, right, Because
I mean, his availability rate rivals that of Joel Embiid,
who we talk about quite a bit and went on
the court and you can't teach seven feet right, and
he was going to be the lab partner and all
those things, which is why it was so important that

about Williams and he said a lot of great things

At some point you think he's going back and I
don't know, mal wait, wait, he's actually laying on the

to say that to you want to look, I feel
like disclavered. This was satire in comedy. But you know,

look as we you know, look back at the Super
Bowl yesterday and and you know, try to give you
a different stuff than what you've heard all day about
the Super Bowl. After the Eagle's dominant performance yesterday, Yeah, clearly,
you know they were able to turn the tables two
years after getting smacked by them thirty eight to thirty five.
The big penalty at the end, the holding penalty by Bradbury,
(07:24):
the winning field goal for the Chiefs. The Eagles blew
a big lead in that game, and the Chiefs were
able to come back and win. But I wonder, okay,
I wonder looking at the game yesterday and seeing the
strengths of the Eagles were still the same strengths yesterday
that they were a couple of years ago. I really
I wonder if the field was different two years ago,
(07:48):
if we wouldn't have seen a very similar game to
what we saw yesterday. Because if you remember, the big
story of Super Bowl fifty seven was the players were
slipping the slider on the field the entire game, right,
They slipping at the entire game. The offenses were the offenses, right,
The Chiefs offense was great, the Eagles offense was great,
but the Eagles defense, really it was it was almost
(08:09):
like the slipping and sliding sort of leveled the playing
field because the Chiefs defense was pretty good a couple
of years ago. But I gotta say the Eagles defense
was a hell of a lot better, right. I mean,
this is this is a team that two years ago
was number two in yards allowed per game. Kansas City
was middle of the pack. They were number one in
(08:30):
passing yards against per game, kansaity middle of the pack.
They were number three in turnover differential. They were number
one in sacks, Kansas City was twenty second. So the
defense of the of the Eagles had a huge advantage
over the Chiefs. And yeah, the Chiefs, all this attention
we made, all the chief they got, they got there,
they got their offensive line better, they signed Joe Toney,
(08:50):
all these things. But I really wonder, because the offense
is pretty much went up and down the field at will,
if the field wasn't so slippery, if we would have
seen exactly what we saw yesterday day, two years ago,
and it would have been wow, look at the Eagles
defensive line owning the Chiefs. We saw that in the
Super Bowl with the with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They
were able to because they did the same thing yesterday,
(09:11):
did exactly what Tampa Bay did three years ago when
Brady won for the last time. Right, no matter what
the Chiefs did, it was the it doesn't matter. The
offensive line was able to create pressure without blitzing, and
you win a lot of games when you can do that.
If you can create pressure without blitzing, you win a
lot of games. And it was the same thing for
the Chiefs against the Tampa Bay Bucks that it was
against the Eagles. They just kept doing the same things.
(09:33):
There was no creativity. There was no let's do something different,
let's try something to get something going. It was just
let's try keep doing the same things and and and
try to you know, eventually get something different to happen.
That's not going to because when you just keep trying
the same things over and over again, that's the definition
of insanity. You're just expecting a different result. That's what
(09:53):
would have happened. That's what happened in both those Super Bowls.
And I got a feeling it probably would have happened
two years ago because but the but the defense, you know,
when you're sliding, when you got to react, it's always
tougher on the defense that it is on the offense
when you have a slippery field. Right. That's why in
snow games, it's not about the defense, it's you get
that slick field. It's about by the time you get
to the middle of the fourth quarter, every other play is
(10:13):
a seventy five yard slant for a touchdown because the
defender can't stay with the wide receiver. It's such a
huge thing to come back from and I almost feel like, yeah,
that leveled the playing field way more than we thought
it did a couple of years ago. And if it
was a field where nobody was slipping around, we probably
would have seen an Eagles victory.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
All I remember going back to the big play that
kept getting shown on the Saquon Barkley highlight reel in
the snow. Right, you had three guys that tried to
contact them, but they had no opportunity to really get
any footing or force on any physicality there. So he
just sprints straight through and off to daylight, going back
into the antles of history. Of course, we have to
(10:51):
go back and find George Toma, the sod father for
the explanation as to what happened is that they'd watered
it down and then they installed before it was dry.
That they didn't give it enough time to take care
of business, hence owing to the slipper. Look, we get
into how big your spikes are, right, did you need
to change that out to get yourself better grip, better
(11:14):
opportunity there to cut some of it?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, just that margin.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Is such the difference one step and gone in having
to plan right, you get a guy leaning one way,
that's two two hundred and thirty forty pounds leaning one way.
Hard to do the breakneck speed and get back into coverage,
especially the way the offense is set to where it's
spread out, So I mean the recovery of a safety
(11:41):
or a linebacker to get back into the play to
give help in pursuit. You know, it's an extra ten
to fifteen yards, or maybe you're on a full sprinted daylight.
So yeah, the fast track certainly an advantage here. And look,
the Chiefs game plan was sorry to be the best.
I joked with you off air, It's like, well, no, Matt,

naggy jokes about getting him a job this year or
anybody stumping for him this time around, right, because they
got obliterated and they had no answer to try to
slow down the defensive front. They were not going to
be helped by any slippage because anytime Mahomes held the ball,
he was getting drilled and then it was a step behind. Right,

how many times did he throw behind a guy who
was pretty open?

And I get it you're sped up because of that pressure,
but your your field comparison and analysis. I think it's
an interesting point to go back and really watch that
Super Bowl in full, to count how many, like we
do with officials, you know, how many would have could
have should have penalties? Same thing here and would be interceptions.

We love that static stat for quarterbacks we hate so
remember that the almost interception because what happened, Hey, Mahomes
almost through that because now we're on he's a heel now,
so we got that all lost interception. But it's very
much that, right, It's it just becomes a much different
watch when you anticipate, Wow, these guys are really struggling and.

It changes the play calling. So Kellen Moore looks like
a lizard, do no and look. And the thing is
is that you can say, well, the field affected both
teams the same way. Okay, okay, I understand that. But
when you when you take a side of the football
that is way more dominant than the other team and
you even that out because it could be you and
I could have a race and you could be way
(13:36):
faster than I am. But if we're running over ice,
who knows who can win? Right, that's taking us down
to the to the basic level of whoever can stand up.
This is not about the fact that you were faster
than me, because your advantage is taken away because we're
running on ice. Now picturing that scene from Batman where
by walking out on the ikes, right. But so that's
really when you think about what the Eagles did well,
(13:56):
that's getting to the quarterback and sacks and turnovers and
yards allowed. They had gotten beat like that all year.
But the advantage was clearly on the offense. And both
offenses played great, right, the Eagles offense, which is not
quite as good as the Chief offense. That leveled the
playing field a little bit. There was a field goal
game at the end. But defensively, wow, that was a
big advantage for the Eagles with what they did. It's

the same team, the same tenants, the same principles that
they were able to do yesterday. And really, if the
field wasn't something where they were slipping and sliding, do
the Chiefs come back at some point? Does that happen
or it looks a lot more like yesterday with Mahomes
getting hit throwing the ball and it's not a great
Chiefs run. Not that the officials you know, told Chip Toma, hey,

make sure this field is like it's going to help
the Chiefs. But really, I look at that Super Bowl
way differently now than I did. Where what's the big
takeaway from the Super Bowl yesterday? Well, it's the defensive
line of the Eagles and what they were able to do.
You look back at that Super Bowl, what was the takeaway? Well,
the holding call on brad Bury at the very end.
Now it's the holding call and the field so slippery,
(15:01):
and how much did that help the Chiefs? Again, referees
didn't do it. Unless they did. Referees didn't do it. It's
just a thing that helped the Chiefs more because they're
what they were worse at as the Eagles that really
got sanded off.

Yeah, and there's you know, certainly we'll get some angry
responses from Chiefs fans at how about a Prescott swollen?
Don't bring them all the same, I love hate. Just
keep listening and keep evangelizing the friends and family. We
got to impress the Polsters. But the idea being that
you're looking at a squad and the Eagles right strength

all across the board, right, we know they've built the interior.
It's like your Jets used to have the plethera of
defensive linemen back in the day. Right, that's what you
were known for. That's what the Eagles have been like.
They built the guts well each and every time and

one of the big hallmarks of the game yesterday, dried true,
playing fast, trusting your back seven because well our four

moving on from Aaron Rodgers after they call him to

fly cross country to tell them we're not going forward
with you. He made a house call. Look, first of all,
I was wrong. I thought for sure, and I've said
it many times. Rogers is going to be the quarterback
week when even the quarterback week one. But this gets
into this gets into that, and clearly the Jets said, okay,
we want to start over again. So thanks Aaron, but
we're going to do something else. Now, there's two takes
(23:34):
from this, and the first one is that is that
when I said, Okay, why did I think Rogers would stay?
Is because who else are you going to get? Right
from the Jets perspective, what you're saying is, Okay, we're
not going to bring Aaron Rodgers back, which means we're
not going to bring DeVante Adams back. And now you're
looking at a Jets team that traded two second round

picks and two third round picks for guys that aren't
even going to play there next year. Good luck? Right,
So now the cupboard is bare, and who are you
gonna get? We're gonna the Jets will probably likely go
after a veteran signal caller in free agency. Oh there's nobody, man,
there's nobody yet. Kirnay, you're gonna draft a quarterback, right,
You're gonna draft Jalen Milrow. You're gonna draft Kyle McCord,

and it's gonna be a quarterback room of one of
them with Jordan Travis. But what are you doing? Who
a you going to get? There's nobody out there, And
that's what's depressing about the Jets cutting Aaron Rodgers, Because
here I am the day after the bleeping Super Bowl,
the day after Super Bowl when I should be thinking
about next year, and already I know twenty twenty five
is gonna suck. That's a tough message to send to

a fan base, right this early in the offseason, where
it's like, hey, guess what, guys, next year is gonna suck.
We just had a dozen years of suckage and suckitude
where nobody could get it right and is another starting over?
And I get we had to start over. I understand
all of that, but boy, that's a tough message man,
the day after the Super Bowl to say, hey, guess
what stick with us? We're starting over again. Yeah. I
understand you guys are new, but this is now twelve

years one of the most embarrassing streaks and sports, and
now you're telling me that twenty twenty five is gonna
suck because we're a quarterback is gonna be a get
by guy? Right, That's a that's a tough thing to swallow. Man.
If you want to tell me, if you want to
get through free agency and get through the draft, and
you see how the team is being drafted, Okay, I
kind of understand where we're at now. You're getting to
the end of April, beginning of May. Teams have the

mini camps, you get your rookie class in. You see
how things are going with free agency? All right, yeah,
I see what we did. I see the direction, right,
I kind of understand. But boy, the day after the
Super Bowl for you to be told, hey, guess what, Yeah,
the two big guys we went out and said, spend
draft picks to go get They're not gonna be here.
There's no solution out there. If there were any quarterbacks
out there, I would say, Okay, well, at least we're

gonna get one of the quarterbacks and we're but there's
nobody out there. They're not gonna go get Kirk Cousins
not gona be the same thing they just did with
with a guy injured, coming off a devastating injury and
find out he's no good. So what are you gonna do?
Like it's a really it's it. I can't tell you
how rough it is to be told right away, hey,
guess what, We're gonna suck next year? All the Jets,
merchandise shops, NFL shop, Jets stuck on. Everything should be

half bleeping price, because come on, you tell me, I
gotta play full price for a team that's gonna suck
next year because I know they're gonna suck.

So when we next talked to our friend, friend of
the show, long time friend of the show, Jay Glazer,
are you gonna tell him he ruined your Super Bowl
Sunday that he was on Bourbon Street regardless?

like straight out of total recall back in the day,
But it's the the idea for the Jets of what

is out there. Well, if two of your former quarterbacks
lead the parade, right, if Minnesota doesn't bring back Sam Darnold,
if Denver doesn't bring back Zach Wilson, those are the
two guys with the highest amount of money. Kirk Cousins,
after lying about his injury and the way he kind
of refused to talk about it any further with reporters

from Atlanta this week. I think he lost a little
bit of some of that you know, face thing. He
might have turned a little bit of a heel in
this regard, like wait a minute, you can't bring that
up and then suddenly clam up saying you're not doing
any media. I think you owe us a bit of
an explanation here, all these guys that covered press, press
releases and all those press conferences.

And everything else. Beyond that, what do you got? What
do you got?

I mean, look to your happiness former Syracuse quarterback McCord
more and more. He's shooting up draft incredibly, and they
got Kyle mccroibick. Okay, that he's probably going to be
a back end first, early second at this point of
the latest reports. And that's fine, It's exactly what we
said was gonna happen.

Eventually you start seeing more quarterbacks in the mix and
in the buzz. But like for Rogers, he's gone. You've
got Travis, You have no idea. He wasn't able to
play no. And then the rest of the market place
probably didn't help either that you had the Mike McDonald
quote and not anything related to the Doobie brothers, uh
saying yeah, we can win with Gino Smith. Yeah, so

not only are you getting kicked to the Aaron Rodgers
Like wait, we're resetting again. Yeah yeah, yeah, I get
a new GM, new coach. Whatever, We're gonna suck what
you're telling me. We get to have this, you know,
year of waiting. By the way over there, they're telling
us that our former second round pick Gino is a
guy they think they can win a super Bowl with.

That's great, you know. And and and the thing is
is that it's it's not about it's not about something
that I disagree with. It's not something, but it's really
that's a really tough message to send that. Yeah, hey,

in mind? Anthony Davis is missing multiple weeks after hurting

his adductor in his first game with the Mavericks over
the weekend, and Joel Embiid let it slip over the weekend.
Oh yeah, I might need another surgery on my knee
at the end of this year, depending on how things go. Well,
and they come in threes because Giannis is out for
several weeks now as well. Yeah, but this is these
were but again terrible, unsurprising, but terrible. The unsurprising a

little bit more surprising, you don't know how much, but unsurprising, terrible,
but we're gonna see. I feel like when when William
Hurt says it in a Harry Potter he did terrible
things with that wand Voldemort great but terrible. You know
William hurt. Yeah, not William hurt, John Hurt, Okay, John Hurt.
Yeah wow. I was like, whoa, that's the way of John.

lot Friday night his presser and how much he was
really doing the cell job of I am going to

About it, it's like the injury has not exactly a
short term, easy fix injury.
