The Jason Smith Show with my bas friend Mike harmanbo
It's a live drop Friday from the tirerat dot Com
studios tirect dot com. I'll help you get there an
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection, and

(00:46):
over ten thousand recommended installers tirect dot com the way
tire buying should be. I'm an ass man, Yeah, tell Allen.
Right now, the Lakers and the Suns. The Lakers trail
right now, thirty to twenty seven. The Suns are playing nobody.

(01:06):
I think former mayor Kevin Johnson is running. Point guard
Dan Marley is in the game. The Sun's arresting everybody.
The Lakers still with a lot to play for, still
hoping to maybe sneak out of the play in round
and into the playoff itself. Lebron is playing a d
is playing. They have four points each, but they trail
the Suns right now thirty two twenty seven, late in

(01:28):
the first quarter at the Crypt. There you go, we've
got that game in progress, the other one that we
were tracking earlier tonight. A lot of hate and derision,
and all of it deserved in Dallas for what Mark
Cuban did, the fraud he perpetrated on the home fans
there with the Bulls in town one fifteen one twelve,
they lose. Everybody sits. Luca goes out after a quarter,

(01:50):
goes in, takes a shower, and then comes out in
his sweats and everything. You know what, I've felt a
little bit for him, and it did very little bit,
very tiny via Lens with the whole Jalen Brunson. We
never had a chance, you know what. Screw him. You know, look,
this is I'm sure Mark Cuban will blame Rick Brunson
for the entire season, and now Lucas should ask out

(02:13):
right entire year. This isn't what I played basketball. This
is this is so unbelievably embarrassing for the NBA, for
Mark Cuban, for the Mavericks players, and for their fans,
because the Mavericks came in tonight with a chance to
win and keep their playoff hopes alive, and instead, early
on in the day, it was decided that Kyrie Irving

(02:35):
and four of the players were not going to play
for precautionary measures. And then it was announced a little
bit before tip off Luka Doncic was going to play
the first quarter and that was it. And that's exactly
Luca did. He played the first quarter, he played the
first minute of the second quarter, he came out. That
was it. The Mavericks gave it a great run for
a long time, they had a ten point lead, but

(02:55):
it ran out of gas at the end. The Bulls win,
officially eliminating the Mavericks in the playoffs. And you know what,
I want Mark Cuban to face some kind of discipline
by the league, but Adam Silver is not going to
because he doesn't want to do anything. But this is
a guy now who in twenty eighteen was fine six
hundred grand because he openly admitted tanking. Right, and okay,

(03:15):
we're tah, guess what. That's a big fine now here
you have this everything that went on today, they're sitting
four players for just precautionary reasons. The playoffs are there
still no, no, no, not gonna do it. And now
you're best player. Nope, not going to play him more
than a quarter? Why even play him if you're gonna
play him for why? It's like they were thumbing their
nose at the NBA and Mark Cuban is thumbing his

(03:35):
nose going, what are they really gonna do to me?
What do we don't really care about getting in because
we're not gonna win. Who knows what's going to happen.
It didn't work with Luca and Kyrie Irving, So yeah,
we're gonna tank. And I can't believe that that he's
going to get out of this without facing some kind
of discipline, suspension, something, because this embarrasses the NBA. This

(03:56):
is a bad headline and a bad optic for the
NBA in totality, because it's the worst part of the
NBA on display. We're tanking. We know tanking happens in sports,
but what's the big rule? Don't let it be seen.
Don't let it be seen where it's so incredibly obvious
that I can't ignore it, right, don't let me see that,
and then I have to do something for it. Right.

(04:17):
It's like holding penalty in the NFL. If you hold,
if you hold right in front of me and you
pull the guy down, then I got to throw the flag.
If you hold a little bit and you let go
at the end, maybe I don't don't make it where
I have to do something. And now this is where
the NBA feel they have to do something because of
what the Mavericks did, because of the decision to sit everybody.
Jason Kidd wasn't on board with it, Luca wasn't on

(04:38):
board with it. You read the quote last hour where
Jason Kidd said, we were playing until we were told
we weren't going to play anymore. And I'm just I'm
so embarrassed, and I'm embarrassed for the NBA, and I'm
embarrassed at Mark Huban owns the Mavericks right now, because
this is the worst of the worst of the NBA. Yeah,
we just don't care. We just really don't care about
the playoffs. We'd rather have a chance in the lottery.

(04:58):
For whatever reason, we don't want our guys to go
in what kind of messages that send to everybody, to everybody.
And this is an owner of the team that basically
twenty years have been allowed to do whatever the hell
he has wanted to, and he's had three or four
really horrendous missteps in the last few years, and still
here he is continuing to go forward. Well, this is
your second time you're basically saying we're tanking. So you

(05:19):
know what, Yeah, Adam Silver, have some guts, have Mark
Cuban into your office and say, listen, this is what's
going to happen, because this is the worst thing. We
can't have people saying the NBA's not on the level,
the NBA's not legit. Teams are just absolutely sitting for tanking.
So yeah, so you know what, here's a suspension for you.
Here's a ten game suspension, a fifteen game suspension, whatever
it is. You can't be with a team until the
beginning of next year, whatever it is. Something, so people,

(05:42):
so teams can go, hey, we can't just openly tank
like this and embarrass the NBA, because, make no mistake,
that's what happened tonight. Mark Cuban embarrassed the NBA. Yeah,
I think the biggest thing is just the divide between Okay,
at what point it really it ties to all the
other arguments that we've been making. Where where do we

(06:02):
decide that lying in the sand is? When did they decide?
You know what, we're not really that good? So even
if we get in, we're not winning anything. And what's
an extra round? What's what's a little bit of juice
into the playoffs? What does that do? No? It hurts
us in the draft? So why why should we do this? Right?
You probably decided that weeks ago as you watch the

(06:24):
experiment fan, Why because no, we play in damn defense.
And Luca was making all his excuses the other day.
That was pathetic too, by the way, So he's got
some culpability in some of It'll look I'll tell you
we'll get into Luca coming up later on, because Luca's
got a big time offseason. He's got some big questions
he's got to answer, he's got to ask at He's
got to answer a bunch, but he's also got to

(06:46):
ask them too. He's got This is where you get
a good fiery press conference going, get them all jacked
up about it, because I think this was their Slovenians
you know, um appreciate tion night or something, which is
why you played at all. But we look at the

(07:06):
that divine and I think we can all be wise
about it and recognized they probably had about as much
chance of advancing and winning a title as a snowball
surviving in the pits of hell. I get that, But
you've played it to this point and now at the
end it's like, that's it. We're tapping out Vegas blackjack

(07:27):
dealer style. I mean, that is the the epitome of yeah,
you know what, you don't get your titles shot here,
I'm walking away, you get nothing, you don't getting a rematch,
moving on to another competitor, And I'm walking out of
the ring right now. I'm taking my ball and I'm
going home. And that and that's where we're at with
this Mavericks move. It's really flies in the face. And

(07:51):
as I talked about last hour, I don't gripe too
much about load manage. But we're literally in the final
two regular season games with the playoffs on the line,
and you pull the rug out and just say, no,
this doesn't matter, we don't need the playoffs this year.
A bit. Let's see, hey, Adam Silver, have some guts.

(08:11):
Let's get a suspension. Let's let's actually you stand up
to an owner for once. That's not well. The players
made me stand up to Donald Sterling. Let's let's actually
do something. Yeah, Jad actually do something as commissioner wants.
Let's just do that. Now that's a story that's evolving.
We'll continue to have this throughout. Jason Kidd's about to
meet the media. See what he has to say. I

(08:31):
coached my ass off and it wasn't enough. It wasn't enough.
I didn't get that win. But I bet you didn't
know this, Mike Harmon. Today is a huge basketball anniversary.
It is an unbelievably large anniversary. Okay, huge owner. It
was twenty and Dangley had to pull it out. It

(08:54):
was tell it was twenty years ago tonight. In fact,
probably right around now, twenty years ago tonight that this happened.
Tom Morene in Indianapolis. Oh stop playing O, no, look
at this. He's forklifting up Brank Garrett and Mitchell. He's
Chett Homer, get up, get out of here. Now. It

(09:17):
was twenty years ago. It's right around now that this happened.
Alex tischerkive By music please for Billy Packer, Geanie's Alasco,
Dwayne ballin Littelby n Venue, Bonnie Burnstein and all of
us here at CBS Sports. Congratulations to the Syracuse Orange
they finally get the ending right beat in Kansas to

(09:37):
win the NCAA Championship eighty one seventy eight. What a
blank in block, I came, Warwick. Oh look at that.
I still got it. Well, I still got it twenty
years ago. Right around now, a Kem Warick blocks Michael
Lee kirk Hinrich puts up a brick Syracuse second best
sports night of my life behind the Mets winning the
World Series in eighty six, twenty years ago. Tonight it

(10:01):
feels like yesterday and it feels like twenty years ago
at the same time. It's nicely done. I mean, you
got bulls legend, Kirk Heindrick in there. He's in the
top ten and a lot of categories as a franchise
for the longevity. But you know that it's a big
moment for you and the Beehids, the celebration of your life. Really,
I'll tell you three things about that real about that

(10:22):
game for twenty because a lot of people were talking
about it. Today, Sarcas have a big movie premiering called
Will to Win. Yeah, they've got a movie about the
plays Karmoni three he does he plays himself. Yeah, and uh,
Jim Larenega plays your wife. No, no no, no, he's fine.
You know he still he's still hit jumpers. He can
still look like he kind of did a little bit.
He can play on a lot of these teams at

(10:43):
this point, are you kidding me? But Jim Larenega plays
Jim Beheim. So there is that thing. YEA. Three things
I will say, um Carmelo Anthony's n say tournament run
maybe one of the top three single season tournament performances
in the history of the tournament. His run that year

(11:03):
all the way through, I don't know that, maybe later
a couple others, but right up there with one of
the best tournaments in the history of the game. Now,
that game itself, there's two things I can say about it,
And it sounds insane, but it's absolutely true. Kansas is
lucky to be in that game as well as Syracuse
played all the threes they hit in the first half,
and McNamara was incredible. I can't believe it was a

(11:24):
close game. It was eighty one seventy eight and Syricus
had to withstand them at the end. They should have.
I can't believe Kansas was in the game same time.
Had Kansas just shot sixty percent from the free throw line,
they probably win by double digits. Yeah, because they were
twelve out of thirty from the free throw line. Syracuse
just kept sending them to the line. But you can't, right,

(11:44):
we'll watch it all the time now. How many teams
shoot poorly from the free throw line like that? That
used to be the all right, you do that on
your own, but we expect you to actually do it.
But in that game, absolutely huge twenty years ago. Well
that's crazy twenty years I tell you how fast it was.

(12:05):
Was When was it last year? When the video came out?
That was Mellow right after the game, and Buddy Bayheim
is running around high fiving Mellow. He's like three years old,
and Mellow's moving his hand like you're not gonna high
five and you're not gonna like, oh my god, I'm
so old. It's Buddy bay huh wearing him Mellow jerseys
running around Oh man, uh yeah, Mellow in the championship

(12:28):
game against Kansas twenty points, ten rebound, seven assists in
a steel Yeah not bad, not bad, mellow yeah, not bad.
Oh man, second best sports night of my life. I
remember where I was watching it, standing up yelling because
I actually watched one of my good friends who's a
Kansas fan. So we decided we'd watch the game together.
And I was like yeah, because I had to work

(12:49):
the next tack. I wasn't at the Final four. I
had to work the next day, so like, yeah, we'll watch.
We'll watch a game together. And I felt bad, but
I was like, screwing, I'm winning a championship. Man. I
had the medicine eighty six, two thousand and three. Omis,
I thought you were going ninety four Rangers. No, no,
come on, I can't stand the Rangers. Come on, man,
you know that about me, You come on. So I
actually did a really nice thing today. I sent him

(13:10):
a tech saying, hey, happy anniversary, and he writes back,
question mark what? And I sent him the picture of
a game marks block of Michael Lee and he just
he just blanked blanked me on all for like five minutes.
At the anniversary. I mean, anniversary for one is the
wark block? No, that's positivity right there. I mean that's

(13:32):
being a good friend. Of course, Hey, it is being
a good friend, isn't it. Hey? So coming up next,
we got some big time NFL to get too, because
we had to talk about this because something happened tonight
at an event in New York City, a radio football
event where Jets GM Joe Douglas was a part of.

(13:52):
Do we have the sound of Joe Douglas getting asked
a question about a very certain Packers quarterback and Joe
Douglas his answer, do we have Aaron Rodgers? He's gonna
be here? Wow? Oh, he's gonna be here. The kame

(14:19):
with me. Be sure to catch live editions of The

more on the NBA coming up a little bit. But
how about this tonight out of the National Football League.
At a radio event tonight in New York, Jets GM,

(15:01):
Joe Douglass shared the stage with boomeras Siason, other radio
entities from w fa N you know, big radio station
in New York, and Boomers. Siason, getting Joe Douglas on stage, said, Okay,
I have a captive audience. I'm gonna ask the question,
and Joe Douglas gave the answer. Aaron Rodgers, He's gonna

(15:27):
be here. What the hell else is he gonna say?
At this point? I don't know. Hey, Boomer, can you
play quarterback still? Can you still throw? I mean, I
know you have to hope. So ninety five? What do
you think about that? So he's gonna be Joe Douglass.
He's gonna be here, and he's everybody goes crazy in

(15:47):
the audience joining us now on the hotline. Nobody better.
Longtime NFL insider check him out at out kick. He
is a Hall of very Good voter, probably voted for
Boomers Siasen for the Hall of Fame. It is Jason Cole,
Jake Cole, what's happening, buddy, Boomer size him seriously? It is?

(16:08):
He was very good. Boomer size was very good. Yeah
he was. It was very good. By yeah, by arstand
Chuck Alley who boomers? Who would win between Boomer size
and Chuck Alley? Who would win if you hadn't make
that argument? Harold Kermichael Harold Kermos Boolver Montgomery. Yeah, he's

(16:34):
got to get into Yeah, keep buyers. Yeahs nicely. Boomer
made the Pro Bowl four times. You got to keep
him in shore? Why not? Sure? Yeah? Romall in Okay,
So you know it's not it's not gauchos, dude, it's

(16:56):
gaucha I want to figure you guys lost the drop?
You like something that it's it's lost. No, it's not.
It's Live Drop Friday. It's it's gone. No, No, we haven't.
It's just live Drop Friday, where instead of playing the
drops on Friday, we do them live. It's Live Drop Friday.
It's a whole thing. That's that's a lot. You just

(17:17):
made that rap off right off the top of your head. No,
we do live drop fread. We've been doing Live Drop
Friday for like a couple of months now. I think Okay,
well Friday, till you've sold it, you sold it to someone,
Tysher will play it for you at some point. If
you want to hear the go aztex dude, all right,
raw raw, especially when you get all guttural like that. No,

(17:38):
that's good. Yeah, go assex dude all raw. So I
had a good run. So after hearing Joe Douglas, now
I mean keeps the doors or whatever whatever aste. Yeah,
it's what I'm thinking of the old ABA team. Do

(17:59):
I have that the hello? Um, when Buffalo moved to
San Diego? Is that right? And Bob McAdoo or was
what what were what was the series? Yeh, it was
the San Diego Conquista Doors. Yeah, that's that's I wasn't
sus did exist in San Diego literally accused seventy two
to seventy five. Hey, that's right then, TJ. Clearly the

(18:22):
primetime due of Cortez and Francisco Pizarro getting it done
for them. Okay, they were, they were. Don't do that
I'm learning about Francisco bar just don't get me. Burn
do anything but Burman, anything but anything but Burman. Hall
of Famer Chris Burn. He's a very good announcer. He's

(18:45):
probably in the he was very good. He was very
good in the seventies, eighties or something like that. Okay,
so how close can the jet? Can the Jets get
any closer to getting Aaron Rodgers without actually getting no
getting on? If if Joe Douglas had said, like he coming, yeah,
I'm gonna put the question to you, you know, Bloomers

(19:07):
here he comes, right, what's gonna happen? If he's like,
I don't know, Like we have a lot, we have
all the confidence in the world and Zach Wilson and
he's gonna be and then he just drowned him out
with booze. After that, it would have been like it
would have been like the crowd scene in Young Frankenstie,

(19:28):
Like they would have been going to Karen's head off. O,
my god, he's gonna be there. And then Joe Dall
has to go, oh, I just ruined all my all
my trade catchet by say we're gonna get him. I
just packers this whole thing. If it doesn't happen, it's
so roasted. He is so roasted. That's like and and

(19:49):
here's the thing about is Joe Douglas is now betting
his his career on one of the most capricious human
beings in the history of a whole, right, Like, Aaron Rodgers, Yeah,
this is solid, He's gonna play for us, Dude. He
was just in a cave trying to decide whether he
was going to retire or not. Literally, he was doing
cave diving or whatever they call that it was. He

(20:12):
was just in. He was in it, no sun. It
was like a hotel room. It's like a bear it
was like a glamping hotel room. And that's what he
was in for two days. The risk Carlton of cave
it is, it's a rich Carlton of glamping. Basically, he
glamped with no lights. That's what he did. And I
don't know that he was I don't know that he
was in the darkness. Try to decide, is this literally

(20:35):
the dumbest, the dumbest offseason of all time? Aaron Rodgers
glamping in a cave and deciding he wants to play
for the Jets, Like, can you can't write that? Well,
how can't make that up any any possible way? It
has to come out of the mind of captain capricius.
Aaron Rodgers, How do you expect a guy to decide
whether or not he wants to play for the Jets.

(20:57):
I mean, this is not like I could go play
for the car the Speller. Well, well, well put and
exactly correct. I have to agree with you on that.
If if given a choice between playing for the Jets
and anybody else, yeah, I would probably have to go
into a cave and think about it for a long time.
I mean, look, this is an unbelievable offseason where the
two biggest storylines are a quarterback who is going through

(21:18):
darkness retreats and buying crystals, another quarterback who was acting
as his own agent and can't get any offers, And
you wonder why, uh Lamar Jackson still hanging out. Guess what,
that's not anybody else's. It's a guy who demanded a
trade when he was already on the free agent market.
Yeah no, it's good, good time, like never, like that's

(21:38):
why everybody missed about that whole trade. Like he demanded
a trade. Dude, you can go go go negotiate one
like you're you're you're on the market already, like they've
you're available in trade. Like you don't have to you
don't have to ask for it. They've done it all right.

(22:00):
They put you on the market. Lamar, nobody's biting at
your price. When would you get a clue your price
is too high? Like this? Is this like the youth
car salesman who refuses to come down on the price
of a car that's been on a lot for seventeen
years now. We opened with one GM Joe Douglas, let's

(22:24):
go to another one that used to be and Steve Kime,
what's the moratorium? You know, statute of limitation before you
start trashing anybody that played in your organization. This guy
didn't love football. This guy, Yeah, he could have worked harder.
This guy could have done well. There there's a there's
a little bit of a danger there. Where did you
just go? Yeah? He didn't love it? Um, you picked

(22:47):
him right, like right? You did not suss that out
in the evaluation. That's why I remember that was a
great lot. Somebody would it was? Who am I thinking of?
Gil gil Brand? Gil Brand? Oh, my buddy, buddy gil Brand, Yeah,

(23:09):
my buddy, Yeah, your buddy gil Brand. Okay, he's he said,
you know, he goes to steakhouses all the time because
he's from Texas. So nothing but red meat. Okay, but
he would go to these steakhouses and if he had
a bad waiter and had a bad experience, he would
look at the waitering goes Son down. I don't blame you,
I blame the guy who hired you. That's one of

(23:33):
the great all thoughts. Like Steve, the problem was not
Kyler Murray. Problem was you selected when you knew, you know,
when you didn't figure out he didn't love the game
as much as he should. That's a drop the mic
moment right there, Jake Hole, that's a drop that that
that's a that's a I like. I like Steve. I

(23:56):
like Steve time a lot. But this this is a
bad arts that he's making. It's a really really bad
argument that he's making. So yeah, like, I know the
word is out there that Kyler doesn't, you know, put
in that kind of effort and he's gotten by on
you know, on his quickness and ability or run around.

(24:19):
That's true. Okay, that's absolutely true. But again that's not
all on Tyler. It's just not like you should have
traded down and said we're not going to take you
at number one. You need to learn that we're more
serious or we need to have this heart to heart
talk before we ever draft you and say your work

(24:41):
habits not exactly what we're expecting. I just think, had
they gone the other way when you play it, what
if for the NFL? Maybe right now Josh Rose is
a three time Pro Bowler quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals.
That could be or perhaps not, but yeah, I will
say that there is You know, sometimes you are damaged

(25:03):
by the choice that's on the table. That is definitely true,
Like I'm taking the best guy. That doesn't make him great,
It just means he's the best guy on the table
right now. Yeah. Look, every every year, some years you
want the first overall pick because you're gonna get somebody.
Some years it's Andrew Luck and some years it's, well,
I guess we'll go for Jake Long, who you know

(25:25):
I would number one pick. I mean, sometimes guys are
there that was another that was a parcel that was
such a parcels like parcels believing all of parcels BSh.
We don't take quarterbacks at number one overall. We want
to take those guys in the second round. Play you're
a guy who took Drew blood Cell, Shut up, No,

(25:46):
we want that tough guy with the number one overall pick,
and this and that, and then we'll take Chad Henny
with the second round pick because his ego won't be
as won't be as big and that. It's like Matt
Ryan was better than the combination of Chad Henny and
Jake Long. Like that, he's had a better career than
those two guys combined. You would have solved the quarterback situation.

(26:07):
Just take the best quarterback on the on the board
ninth situation. Maybe it was Parcels believing the Parcels imagery
that he wanted to throw out there. I bet he.
I bet you he wanted to have Phil Sims play quarterback.
Let's get him out of the booth and let's put
him back behind. I'd win with Phil Sars. Phil Simms
had a great line, I can't say it on your

(26:29):
on this show. Can the show are on the air,
like I mean, because there's things you can stay say it. Well,
there are some shows I could say this, but basically
Phil Simms called called out Parcels once because you know,
the Parcels had the whole thing about you know, these
are the quarterback characteristics I look for. You want a
guy without a big ego, and you don't want to
take the guy number one, and then he takes blood.

(26:51):
So and Phil Simms does an interview with him, and
he basically says, oh, you're like the guy who says, yeah,
I want the hard working secretary and then you hire
the one who's quite Let's just say good looking. Okay,
that's that's we'll leave it. We'll leave it at that.
That's what Phil said, but he alluded to that basically,
look at that. That's a good one. That's Sim's that's

(27:14):
Sims calling out his old boss because he, you know,
because nobody's full of more BS than in the history
of this game than Parcels. He's really he's the king
of BS. I think a great, great coach at a
great coach and a great motivator and all those things.
Don't don't get me wrong. He knew how and he

(27:34):
also knew how to play the psychological game with players
better probably than anyone in the history of the game.
You know, he knew how to you know, work LT.
But you know he gives off this. That's the other
funny story about him and LT. Like LT. When LT
came out of rehab, the first time lt got Instead
of addicted to drugs, he was addicted to playing golf. Right,

(27:57):
And so there was one time where lt they were
having a practice and lt Is has an eight tea
time in like half an hour after practice is over
and practice is starting to run along, and Ltie's gone, parselves,
I got a tea time at four thirty, Parcels and
he and they and lt had his car backed up

(28:19):
to the practice field so that he can get literally
backed up the car to the practice field. And there
you go, and he parcelves, you got fifteen minutes, and
I got a dome, like to guy Bill Parcels, like, oh,
nobody's gonna run over me. But here comes lt Oh
lte what do you want? Well, what do you want?
It's like Partiselves is like flipping through plays, going okay,

(28:42):
which ones do we have to run to make sure
that we practice them? And like he's just flipping them. Oh, no,
cut that one, cut that one, get this one done.
So like that's why I like like Partselves is so
full of himself when he talks about being the control
guy and being the master of the universe and the
big dog and all of sudden, like No, No, you

(29:04):
are whatever you are depending on who are the other
guy and if the other guys LT okay, LT is
the big dog and you're the little chia wow Okay.
That's how it works. Bill. He's on Twitter at Jason
Cole sixty two. That is at Jason Cole sixty two.
Check him out on out kick and canvas him because

face or instant Chat. Happy Live drop Friday, The Jason
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon Jimmy Live
from retire Act dot Com Studios. So there's a big

(30:12):
basketball question we have to ask. We get back into
the night that's going on in the NBA right now.
Coming up in a bit Warriors and the Kings. Kings
are keeping a close Sons and the Lakers are tied.
All kinds of stuff happening around the play in line
of demarcation in the Western Conference. But big question, Mike Carmen.
This is could be a big topic this week as

(30:33):
Air is debuting in theaters across the United States. Oh yeah,
Zoe went to go see it today with a couple
of friends. I'm waiting for the review and all the
rooms I've told you this week. I'm nervous because they
saw that instead of dungeons and dragons, dungeons are dragons.
She went with two friends to see Air today, Dungeons

(30:53):
and Dragons is with two other friends tomorrow afternoon. So there, Yeah,
so that we we that. Yeah, my two friends want
to go see Air. My other two friends, Okay, so
we'll go Friday and goes out of it. So and
we're going next week, right, I'm worried. No, no, dungeons
and dragon. Yes, you got a better chance than me
going to see Air all right, and I'm I'm off

(31:15):
for a chunk of the week, so I could be
rip roaring drunk heading into the theater. Let's go like
you are every night when you do the show to
be why is gonna be a big change. So but
my big worry about this all right for air is
that what I'm sure what the filmmakers want and what
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck want this to be, is

(31:35):
they wanted to be like Social Network or Better Call Saul,
where here's a story that you know, but we're gonna
tell it so entertainingly. It's going to be a huge hit, especially,
you know, more more so Social Network than Better Call.
It's Better Call Saul was able to have a lot
of time because it's a television show and you can
tell more of a story. But you know, Social Network
is a story that people kind of knew about the

(31:56):
beginnings of Facebook. But the reason it's become a legendary
movie is because there's enough of it that's not known
that you can be told a story and go and
come away from it going wow. I can't believe it.
I can't believe that happened with Saverein. I can't believe
that happen with Mark Zuckerberg. I can't believe this and
this and this, because it's a story that's known, but
it's not too well known, this story of how Nike

(32:18):
became a huge evil empire of sneakers, Like everybody n
I mean everybody knows. Everybody know Michael Jordan was great
and he was terrific and it ended with Nike being huge, Like,
what are you gonna tell me that's going to keep
my interest level? And how are you going to help

(32:38):
me think that there are stakes to this when I
know everything along the way, because even the people who
don't know anything about me, you know, going in, Hey,
it's the rise of Nike. I know Nike is great. Now,
Michael Jordan was great. What are you gonna tell me?
Am I gonna care? Something gonna I know about sonny
of a car? Is something gonna happen to tell me
the Sonny the car wasn't. I don't know how they're
going to do that. So I no longer think it's
going to be a bust, But I think is it

(33:00):
really gonna be as good as it can be? Because
you're kind of telling me a story I know a
little bit too much of and it's got to be
a little bit more unknown. Yeah, I'm in the I'll
see it how many days before it hits a streaming
service well in a week now apparently, so may may
not be long. Well, I don't know. Uh, Cocaine Bears

(33:20):
on Paramount next week, so I'm ready, let's go. Next
week Cocaine Bear comes out, Well, it made its money right, Yeah,
it is now fifty days after release. Let's go. So
if the same thing for air, I might actually wait
the seven weeks. I don't know, but I can't say
that other than watching Marlon Wayans is the great. George

(33:41):
Raveling was one of my favorites. We should see him
all the time and chat him up back in the day.
But um, yeah, I don't. I don't know. It's it's
not one I'm rushing to see. I know the story.
I love Athleckan Dame and don't get me wrong, and
Viola Davis always is a winner. But it's not a
story that's making me want to go spend my cash.

(34:03):
What if Damon was on Mars? I, oh, hey, we
get back to the huge night in the NBA. Next

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
