years behind the Jets not making the playfe h, hang on, okay,
thirteen the Jets last made the play street. It's like, okay,
the Jets last made the playoffs two years before I
started here at Fox. Oh I was close. It is

a fifteen year drought for the Jets. Fifteen bleeping years.
They haven't gotten it right once to make the playoffs,
not once. Everybody else gets it right at least once. No,
that was what I can't losing to the Steelers in
twenty eleven. That was it. That was it. That's Sanchez. Oh,

back AMC title games. I mean, hey, I lived high
on the hog those two day you know, back to
back AMCY championship games. But wow, man, that deal with

was fired today. Aaron Glenn is not fired today as Jets. No,
he's not fired. No, And you've seen a lot of

Aaron Glenn still the head coach? I told you months
ago the job was too much for Aaron Glenn. It
was too much his curious game management decisions. And now
people are coming around to boy, why does Aaron Glenn
have a job again? Find someone who loves you as
much as Woody Johnson loves Aaron Glenn.

There's nothing right, there's nothing. This team was terrible. They
were tanking at the end. It was awful. Right, But

why am I so? Why do am I just waiting
for the next head coach at this point? Because when
Aaron Glenn says stuff like there's a plan, I know
you can't see it, but trust me, whoa dude, No,
you can't say that when you go three and fourteen,
don't tell me. I know there's a plan, and trust me,
we're working on things. We're building stuff. We're building stuff
you can't see, dude, I get the whole evidence of
things not seen. I understand that. Right. That's why I'm

hoping there's something after life, right, because what is this
all for. I'm hoping. I love evidence of things not seen.
But I get to see the Jets on Sunday every Sunday,
and they're absolutely terrible. You need to know any more
than the fact that it is the first team in
one hundred years to not have one interception the entire season, right,
Quincy Williams dropped one yesterday. It hit him in the
front of the helmet, you.

Know, I mean with the mystery man. At the end
of the broadcast of Sunday Night Football.

Just see a silhouette of a player and then it
had quarterback stats thirty five hundred and seventy or whatever.
That tonal was thirty six touchdowns against zero interceptions, and
they just started laughs, like the composite against.

Against the Jets, Yeah, against the jetsam uh. Look when
he said yesterday, I know what wins in the NFL, right,
I like to think I know what wins This is
not just about Aaron Glenn. This is why he should
be let go. But this also shows you why guys
like Mike Vrabel, Ben Johnson and Liam Cohen are great coaches. Okay,

because he says, I know what wins in the NFL.
I my idea, I know what wins. So what have
we seeing all year? They're tearing down this team and
he wants to rebuild it in the image that he
thinks he needs to win. So you've seen trades, You've
seen quarterbacks being benched, You've seen all of it. This
is such a ridiculously non starter of an idea. When

you're a coach, you come in you can't turn This
is twenty twenty five in the NFL. Man, I get
it sounds great in theory. When you want to come
in and say I'm gonna get rid of all the guys,
I'm gonna build my own culture. You can't do that, man,
you're talking. You can't just change out twenty five thirty
guys and think we're gonna I'm gonna get all the
guys I want. There's complicated stuff like salary cap and

free agency and hitting in the draft. There's complicated things
like players who want out or want to raise. Right,
there's all kinds of things that happen. There's injuries in
a perfect world. Yeah, you want to think a coach
and come in and say, I'm putting my system in place.
I know what wins, right, I know what wins. You
can't rebuild an entire roster and win. It's just it's

just not feasible. But this is what Aaron Glenn wants
to do. And this is why I know I'm waiting
him out and why he's a bad head coach because
look at these other guys that I just mentioned, right,
Mike Rabel first year with a new team, right, Ben
Johnson first year of the new team. Liam Cohen first
year of the new team. Okay, did these guys come
in and say, Okay, we gotta get rid of all
our guys, we gotta start over again. No, because what
do you do? How do you win in the NFL?

These guys know coming in you can't be so so
wrapped up to and dedicated to an idea or a system,
because you're never going to be able to pull that off. Right. Look,
Robert salad lessaid coach of the Jets. He wanted to
run the defense is how he did it. And in
San Francisco with sixteen defensive lineman all this, dude, you
can't do that. You can't remake an entire roster expect
to win. You have to come in and adjust what

you do to the personnel that you have. And no,
you're not keeping everybody. You want to keep the guys
that are going to be your your captain's going forward.
But you come in with a team that has guys
on it that are pretty good players. You have to
work your philosophy around it. Right, Mike Rabel didn't come
into a team that had won ten games last year
and somebody to the number two seed in the AFC.

He give me a team that won four games last year?
Did you get rid of all those guys? Do you
get rid of all? Ramondre Stevens is making too much money?
Got to get rid of him. We just drafted tre
Von Anderson. No kept both of them. And guess what, Hey,
that's working for you, right, that's working pretty well. Then
Johnson and comes into the Bears. They got all kinds
of stuff, all that they have talent, but they're all
over the place. They're not winning. They blew games last year?

What happens Ben Johnson came in. Was there a lot
of new players this year compared to last year?

And what happened Bear's number two seed in the NFC, right,
Liam Cohen comes into Jacksonville. Jacksonville, Come on, can't get
anything out of Trevor Lawrence. You keep trying to remake things.
It's not happening. What is Liam Cohen commit? Were there
a lot of changes to Jacksonville. No, In fact, they
traded away a running back in the beginning of this.
You're like, why you're trading away tank pigs? But you
can whine a beer. Oh no, I think everything is fine.
(08:31):
These three teams, these are three of the four new
head coaches from last year. They are all top seeds
in their conference. These are all division winners, top two,
top three, top four seeds in the NFL playoffs. And
here's Aaron Glenn because oh, this is my idea of
what wins. And it's like, you got rid of so
many players you kim in you had talent. You can't
tell me. The Jets talent on paper was so different

from all of these teams. The Bears probably had more
talent than anybody but the Patrios team wasn't that talented,
and look at them, right this this Jaguars team wasn't
that talented, but look at them. So this is how
you do it in the NFL. You don't come in
and say, Okay, it's my way. Maybe you could do
that in the seventies in the eighties when free agency
wasn't that big a deal and guys would stay, But
you can't do that now you have to say, what

kind of what's my window here? I have these twenty
players that I really like, and I want to be Okay,
what do I got to do? How do I augment
the team around what I already have? How do I
put my culture in without without sacrificing other things? And
all this was was just we're gonna tear this team
down to the studts. How are you gonna rebuild it?
How do I mean?
Speaker 2 (09:32):
On the plus side, I mean, like the one that's
kind of an outlier in this is the Bears, and
that you did have to tear it down to a degree. Right,
you signed a bunch of offensive linemen and well, that's.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Just improving, that's not that's like we're letting a bunch
of butt offensive down. We had to bring him right,
but you literally had to just fix everything that was
busted and well, take your quarterback and create a new
quarterback from scratch, right, Caleb.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Williams doing things he'd never done. But for the Patrio
looking at five and twelve, four and thirteen, four and
thirteen are the teams you're talking about. For the Jaguars,
the most impressive thing to me from Cohen is the
fact that he did all of this. They brought in
Jacoby Myers, that's great. You talk about Bigsby leaving. Brian
Thomas was hurt or a non factor much of the year,

Travis Hunter was a question mark, and that was gone, Yeah, fine.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Finally when it looked like, whoa, he's gonna be great
and he gets hurt, he's out for them.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
He's at least giving you a contribution both sides and
might have been becoming a nice number two wide receiver,
and yet here you are. The other thing is, I'm
never gonna mock a guy after a press conference. I'm
gonna go buy stock in their team. Cohen, Dan Campbell,
all these guys that got mocked, Sirianni, they all did
pretty well.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
They were just bad at the mic.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Even Avin McDaniel had his run before bad things started
to happen. We'll get to two and all that fun
stuff as we go on, but yeah, tearing it down
to the studs.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
You can't like it. It's too hard right to do
this because you have to replace it.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
And when you're talking about a system, you can do
it over time, you know, over time, but to your point,
not going to have that time. You're not gonna get
it right. You've got to figure out how to win,
and you got to get the quarterback right. And that's
where this is even more damning. And this goes to
the front office as well as Aaron Glenn right the
Hey Aaron, get on a plane and come hang.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Out with us. Yeah, oh no, no, you're not coming back.
We're not bringing you back. I mean, really, how he's
going to this thing? And Breeze Hall is mocking you saying, hey,
old eight can still spin it. Huh well, because that's
the whole thing is that. Okay, this is what I'm doing.
I'm I'm I'm getting rid of Aaron. I'm getting rid
of all this. Okay, I understand that, but you're getting
rid of guys that can still play a little bit.

That could still be the why why are you why
are you convinced that you know the modern NFL? You
know the tearing things that that's a that's a Bill
Parcell's way of doing things that was effective in the
nineties thirty years later. Man, I know you played there
and you played for the guy, but you got to
get that in the NFL now it is a year
to year business and you can't come in and say, well,
we get rid of all the guys this year, this
(12:00):
year away, and we start building next year. You don't
have four or five year rebuilt. But I feel like
Aaron Glenn is stuck in in like the nineties way
of trying to build a football team. And that's just
it took four years. Now we're ready. That doesn't do it?
When when you when? And if the fact is that
it's not like just one guy came in and succeeded
this year with his new team, you had three guys.
(12:21):
These are all to the top four. They were the
top four season. This wasn't hey, we became a five
hundred team and we squeaked into the playoffs. These are
dominant teams in these conferences. Man, well look payment two
years in Denver, right and years you put the guys
some two years up forget it. But I'm just saying, right,
I don't need that.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
You don't even need that, but you get the the
auxiliary of that of just you totally flip things just
that fast, tearing it down to the studs. You don't
get that time. Look how many guys get fired after
a year anymore Like it used to be, you'd get
three or four years, like you were building a college program.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Okay, we we.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Got to get our guys in here, and and you'd
get that because owners didn't want to give away the money.
Well now they're just here, here's another twenty million dollars,
like Pete Carroll is how many coaches are on that
you're gonna get paid to not coach this year from
the from the Raiders that we're moving on.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
What is it for guys? Said everybody said Gruden. Yeah,
and they're still paying him out of this settlement. Tom
Sorris is still getting paid. I think, yeah, yeah, that y.
But I mean look, I mean like it's it's what
the Jets do is wrong, and and that's why I'm
gonna I know, I'm waiting out Aaron Glenn, just like
I waited out Adam Gase, they decided to bring him back.
(13:31):
I'm like, cy, I just got to wait another year
until they wran and hope for a miracle, right, and
hope for that. That's like you up for again. The
Jets like haities down. We sing a sad song over
and over, hoping at some point it's gonna be different.
But I know now, I got a punt on next
year and wait for the next head coach to come in.

How many fake accounts are going to be out there
for guys that are gonna say I'm going back to
school because I don't want to go to the Jets.

Oh, plenty of them. Plenty of them. I wouldn't be
surprised that Dante Moore decided to go back to school.

I would be surprised that break the bank there for
a year and hope something breaks so there's no Jets Raiders,

failing and not up for the job, is that he
has this antiquated way that he thinks of building a

not just about Aaron Glenn. This is why he should
be let go. But this also shows you why guys
like Mike Vrabel, Ben Johnson and Liam Cohen are great coaches. Okay,

because he says, I know what wins in the NFL.
I my idea, I know what wins. So what have
we seeing all year? They're tearing down this team and
he wants to rebuild it in the image that he
thinks he needs to win. So you've seen trades, You've
seen quarterbacks being benched, You've seen all of it. This
is such a ridiculously non starter of an idea. When

you're a coach, you come in you can't turn This
is twenty twenty five in the NFL. Man, I get
it sounds great in theory. When you want to come
in and say I'm gonna get rid of all the guys,
I'm gonna build my own culture. You can't do that, man,
you're talking. You can't just change out twenty five thirty
guys and think we're gonna I'm gonna get all the
guys I want. There's complicated stuff like salary cap and

free agency and hitting in the draft. There's complicated things
like players who want out or want to raise. Right,
there's all kinds of things that happen. There's injuries in
a perfect world. Yeah, you want to think a coach
and come in and say, I'm putting my system in place.
I know what wins, right, I know what wins. You
can't rebuild an entire roster and win. It's just it's
(06:40):
just not feasible. But this is what Aaron Glenn wants
to do. And this is why I know I'm waiting
him out and why he's a bad head coach because
look at these other guys that I just mentioned, right,
Mike Rabel first year with a new team, right, Ben
Johnson first year of the new team. Liam Cohen first
year of the new team. Okay, did these guys come
in and say, Okay, we gotta get rid of all
our guys, we gotta start over again. No, because what
do you do? How do you win in the NFL?

These guys know coming in you can't be so so
wrapped up to and dedicated to an idea or a system,
because you're never going to be able to pull that off. Right. Look,
Robert salad lessaid coach of the Jets. He wanted to
run the defense is how he did it. And in
San Francisco with sixteen defensive lineman all this, dude, you
can't do that. You can't remake an entire roster expect
to win. You have to come in and adjust what

you do to the personnel that you have. And no,
you're not keeping everybody. You want to keep the guys
that are going to be your your captain's going forward.
But you come in with a team that has guys
on it that are pretty good players. You have to
work your philosophy around it. Right, Mike Rabel didn't come
into a team that had won ten games last year
and somebody to the number two seed in the AFC.

He give me a team that won four games last year?
Did you get rid of all those guys? Do you
get rid of all? Ramondre Stevens is making too much money?
Got to get rid of him. We just drafted tre
Von Anderson. No kept both of them. And guess what, Hey,
that's working for you, right, that's working pretty well. Then
Johnson and comes into the Bears. They got all kinds
of stuff, all that they have talent, but they're all
over the place. They're not winning. They blew games last year?

What happens Ben Johnson came in. Was there a lot
of new players this year compared to last year?

And what happened Bear's number two seed in the NFC, right,
Liam Cohen comes into Jacksonville. Jacksonville, Come on, can't get
anything out of Trevor Lawrence. You keep trying to remake things.
It's not happening. What is Liam Cohen commit? Were there
a lot of changes to Jacksonville. No, In fact, they
traded away a running back in the beginning of this.
You're like, why you're trading away tank pigs? But you
can whine a beer. Oh no, I think everything is fine.

These three teams, these are three of the four new
head coaches from last year. They are all top seeds
in their conference. These are all division winners, top two,
top three, top four seeds in the NFL playoffs. And
here's Aaron Glenn because oh, this is my idea of
what wins. And it's like, you got rid of so
many players you kim in you had talent. You can't
tell me. The Jets talent on paper was so different

from all of these teams. The Bears probably had more
talent than anybody but the Patrios team wasn't that talented,
and look at them, right this this Jaguars team wasn't
that talented, but look at them. So this is how
you do it in the NFL. You don't come in
and say, Okay, it's my way. Maybe you could do
that in the seventies in the eighties when free agency
wasn't that big a deal and guys would stay, But
you can't do that now you have to say, what

kind of what's my window here? I have these twenty
players that I really like, and I want to be Okay,
what do I got to do? How do I augment
the team around what I already have? How do I
put my culture in without without sacrificing other things? And
all this was was just we're gonna tear this team
down to the studts. How are you gonna rebuild it?
How do I mean?
Speaker 2 (09:32):
On the plus side, I mean, like the one that's
kind of an outlier in this is the Bears, and
that you did have to tear it down to a degree. Right,
you signed a bunch of offensive linemen and well, that's.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Just improving, that's not that's like we're letting a bunch
of butt offensive down. We had to bring him right,
but you literally had to just fix everything that was
busted and well, take your quarterback and create a new
quarterback from scratch, right, Caleb.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Williams doing things he'd never done. But for the Patrio
looking at five and twelve, four and thirteen, four and
thirteen are the teams you're talking about. For the Jaguars,
the most impressive thing to me from Cohen is the
fact that he did all of this. They brought in
Jacoby Myers, that's great. You talk about Bigsby leaving. Brian
Thomas was hurt or a non factor much of the year,

Travis Hunter was a question mark, and that was gone, Yeah, fine.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Finally when it looked like, whoa, he's gonna be great
and he gets hurt, he's out for them.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
He's at least giving you a contribution both sides and
might have been becoming a nice number two wide receiver,
and yet here you are. The other thing is, I'm
never gonna mock a guy after a press conference. I'm
gonna go buy stock in their team. Cohen, Dan Campbell,
all these guys that got mocked, Sirianni, they all did
pretty well.

They were just bad at the mic.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Even Avin McDaniel had his run before bad things started
to happen. We'll get to two and all that fun
stuff as we go on, but yeah, tearing it down
to the studs.

You can't like it. It's too hard right to do
this because you have to replace it.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
And when you're talking about a system, you can do
it over time, you know, over time, but to your point,
not going to have that time. You're not gonna get
it right. You've got to figure out how to win,
and you got to get the quarterback right. And that's
where this is even more damning. And this goes to
the front office as well as Aaron Glenn right the
Hey Aaron, get on a plane and come hang.

Out with us. Yeah, oh no, no, you're not coming back.
We're not bringing you back. I mean, really, how he's
going to this thing? And Breeze Hall is mocking you saying, hey,
old eight can still spin it. Huh well, because that's
the whole thing is that. Okay, this is what I'm doing.
I'm I'm I'm getting rid of Aaron. I'm getting rid
of all this. Okay, I understand that, but you're getting
rid of guys that can still play a little bit.

That could still be the why why are you why
are you convinced that you know the modern NFL? You
know the tearing things that that's a that's a Bill
Parcell's way of doing things that was effective in the
nineties thirty years later. Man, I know you played there
and you played for the guy, but you got to
get that in the NFL now it is a year
to year business and you can't come in and say, well,
we get rid of all the guys this year, this

year away, and we start building next year. You don't
have four or five year rebuilt. But I feel like
Aaron Glenn is stuck in in like the nineties way
of trying to build a football team. And that's just
it took four years. Now we're ready. That doesn't do it?
When when you when? And if the fact is that
it's not like just one guy came in and succeeded
this year with his new team, you had three guys.

These are all to the top four. They were the
top four season. This wasn't hey, we became a five
hundred team and we squeaked into the playoffs. These are
dominant teams in these conferences. Man, well look payment two
years in Denver, right and years you put the guys
some two years up forget it. But I'm just saying, right,
I don't need that.

You don't even need that, but you get the the
auxiliary of that of just you totally flip things just
that fast, tearing it down to the studs. You don't
get that time. Look how many guys get fired after
a year anymore Like it used to be, you'd get
three or four years, like you were building a college program.

Got to get our guys in here, and and you'd
get that because owners didn't want to give away the money.
Well now they're just here, here's another twenty million dollars,
like Pete Carroll is how many coaches are on that
you're gonna get paid to not coach this year from
the from the Raiders that we're moving on.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
What is it for guys? Said everybody said Gruden. Yeah,
and they're still paying him out of this settlement. Tom
Sorris is still getting paid. I think, yeah, yeah, that y.
But I mean look, I mean like it's it's what
the Jets do is wrong, and and that's why I'm
gonna I know, I'm waiting out Aaron Glenn, just like
I waited out Adam Gase, they decided to bring him back.

I'm like, cy, I just got to wait another year
until they wran and hope for a miracle, right, and
hope for that. That's like you up for again. The
Jets like haities down. We sing a sad song over
and over, hoping at some point it's gonna be different.
But I know now, I got a punt on next
year and wait for the next head coach to come in.

nobody we're hearing. Now we're kind of trying to pick out. Names,
