Speaker 3 (00:52):
Well, Monday Night.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Football, we watch the Dolphins take care of the Jets
in a game that show the Dolphins still stink. They
just think a little bit, No, not quite as much
as the Jets and the Broncos have just gone in
for a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
R J.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Harvey getting in the Yeah, that guy.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
The darling of all late round fantasy owners earlier this preseason.
They are working the Bengals right now, twenty eight to
three with five minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Now we'll get to the Jets coming up in a
couple of minutes, but for this game right here, Okay,
this is the second week in a row that you
have seen the Bengals, and it's wow. This is not
(01:29):
the offense they had a couple of years ago when
Burrow got hurt and Jake Browning came in and he
was good enough and kept the Bengals afloat right, I thought, Okay,
that's what's gonna happen here. They have been absolutely abysmal
and have not been able to put any offense on
the board. All right, Jamar Chase has caught four passes
for twenty yards to night. Chase Brown can't get out
(01:51):
of his own way.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
They are riches. Now a month of that, they are.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Just getting absolutely obliterated offensively. I would have to think
after this week, Okay, because you're the Bengals, you went
all in, you gave Trey Hendrickson money, you signed t Higgins.
You gave guys a lot of money, and Joe Burrow
is done for the better part of this season. Maybe
he comes back in December. If the season is over,
(02:15):
he's not gonna come back, but maybe he comes back
sometime in December, right, maybe, But you spent a lot
of money on these guys. You spent a lot of
cash in the offseason to say, hey, we're building a
team around to make a run sometime in the next
couple of years. After this week, you have to say, Okay,
what quarterback can we go get? What quarterback can we
(02:36):
And I know Russell Wilson be friend now, but put
your hand down, Russell Wilson. Ah, it's just no, not you.
But like you have to say to say, who can
we go get? Who is available? Is it worth it
trying to go get Anthony Richardson who maybe can make
some plays. May I don't know, maybe he can, maybe
he can't. But you have to make something. You have
to make some kind of bold decision. You have to
really see, hey, is Kirk Cousins really really done? Do
(02:58):
we really think he's at finished? Or could he come
here and be better than Browning is? And maybe we
get a little bit of offense if you're the Bengals,
because you're finding this season is starting to get away
from you now at this point, and even though you're
only gonna be two and two. That's why there's time.
You got to do it this week. But you have
to go out and say, all right, we can't just
sign wait. These are two absolutely abysmal weeks and your
(03:20):
playmakers are not coming through. This is where starting tomorrow,
you start coming through and making phone calls and doing
analysis and saying, okay, who are the guys we can
go get that are available. You can't just go get
anybody's backup, because teams have backups for a reason.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Right.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
You can't say, well, let's go get mac Jones. No,
the Niners are gonna keep Mac Jones because you don't
know about brock Perdy, who now is dinged up again
this week. You don't know if he's gonna play short week.
But there's guys out there that you can say, okay,
you know what we got to make a move for.
You know, I threw Richardson out there because clearly he'll
be available. Daniel Jones is the guy, and you know
if ad Ni Mitchell doesn't want to. You know, show
(03:56):
boat yesterday they probably beat the Rams and they're still undefeated. Right,
so you know, Daniel Jones is the guy, and Anthony
richards is someone you can go get and not give
up a lot for. There's gonna be teams as the
season gets on where hey, maybe they're available, but you
can't wait too long. You have to decide, all right,
now is the time to go get somebody. If we're
gonna get somebody, and and I know it's for the
(04:17):
rest of this year, but you're not gonna spend a
lot of money. Not gonna spend a lot getting Anthony
Richardson off of the Colts. Colts fans will make that move.
Colts will make that move right now because hey, we
get outside of that storyline and we've been no one's
gonna care right if we if because we're playing well
right now. If we were playing terribly we traded Anthony Richardson, boy,
it would be awful and people's jobs would be at stake.
But right now you are operating an all time high.
(04:39):
He's someone you can go get. And again, there's chances,
right there's chances you have to take out there. But
what's going on. Now, this is just this is not
even close to acceptable. This is a second week in
a row you have been non competitive offensively against the team.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah, there's a couple of things.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I mean, obviously, it's the math's a little different because
you started two and oh as opposed to your usual
zero to two h which is what you've been under
Taylor in years past, and now you're looking at a
squad getting absolutely thumped.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Here.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Look, we knew coming into the year your offensive line
wasn't very good and defensively, even though you re uped
Hendrickson paid him a lot more money for this year,
and that's one of the key components to a lot
of this is that you still have a defense that's
bereft of talent and knew that there were going to
be many games that it was Can we score thirty
(05:29):
five like we did a year ago?
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Can we make that happen? Clearly?
Speaker 1 (05:34):
At this point, I was just looking up the numbers
for this game. Starting this drive, Broncos had a total
I'm sorry, the Bengals had a total of one hundred
and forty seven total yards of offense.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Forty seven.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Now, you might end up with a nice game from
Jamar Chase Beca is gonna catch a lot of three
to five yard passes, and so in PPR League suddenly
you end up with a decent total. But all of
that to Saydrickson's not on the books beyond this year,
So do you send him packing to a team that
that would want to bring in and needs another pass rusher.
(06:09):
I've seen the name Tyson Bagent brought up a bunch
because right now through four weeks.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
Will Williams is terrific. Yeah, yeah, there's gonna be and
and even this week it was not pretty. It was
it was an ugly game. And if you listen to
the post game, as I do, uh on WGN radio
in Chicago, you would have thought they lost by forty points.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Oh it's always fun. Yeah, Hampton and o B my guys,
didn't they win?
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Nah?
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Yeah, but we didn't. Here's all the problems.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
We didn't win good enough.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
But but but they've got the cadence where it's calm
and measured and then starts to escalate.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Like and Caleb Williams the first several series.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Couldn't get out of his own way, you know, the
Frank Ostenze kind of thing.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
But then you have the final possession where it's like,
all right, making the right plays, making the right decisions,
running as he needed to, all those things. But you
recognize that aagent's a nice luxury to have a backup
that you love, that loves your system. And clearly Ben
Johnson said a lot of glowing things, but it would
make sense if you were to say, hey, we could
(07:12):
solve your short term quarterback problems to allow you to
maximize Higgins and Chase and Wave and say well we
need Hendrickson, we'll take on and we'll fight about the
contracts later on. So yeah, that's fun. The Captain Kirk
argument is always going to be out there of you know,
make the money work. Is he a guy that has
anything left? I don't know, but it's better than what
(07:34):
you're watching right now. And you will know by saying, Okay, Kirk,
do you want to come here to be a starting
the rest of the season. No, I'd rather keep this money. Okay,
Then you know and you're not going to get Kirk cousins.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Now.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
I will say this as much as and I can't
believe I'm saying this as much as he's done. And
I told you he's done. He's not getting his job back,
especially after Jackson Dart wins. Boy, I just have this
vision of Wilson throwing the moonball to Jamar Chase and
all of a sudden, this offense said there's no cost
open a little bit, right, I mean you're but there's
no cost, right, He's got nothing on the contract, Like
(08:05):
it's a minimal deal, high reward. I mean, there's no risk.
Like you're already at bottom. You got one hundred and
fifty yards of total offense. You need something, you need
something to do. So again, twenty eight to three Broncos
with the lead and the football now late in the
fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
We'll have more on this game coming up in a bit.
I'm gonna go out on a limit and say they're
not going to get beat by a late field gold
at it.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Oh probably not. No, I think they'll in the final
two minutes. I think they'll be okay to bleed this out. Meanwhile,
according to reports you just read it. Connor Hughes, Jets
Insider says that look not a lot of info coming
out of the Jets locker room after this game tonight,
which is starting to become par for the course. They
keep everything to themselves, which is not great. And you
(08:49):
know Aaron Glenn, you know, yelling at his pretty good.
Now here's thirteen penalties and three loss fumbles and now
now let me let me be on because because now
you know, we think he's building a culture and see
and that's the thing, right, is that you know, pass
the emotion and and forgetting about you know, the Mets
and the Jets.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
I really want to like Aaron Glenn. I do.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
And coming in he's the guy that wanted the job.
It wasn't just well I want to be an NFL
head coach and this is one of thirty. He was
the only one. He wanted the job I got. I
got unfinished business here. Awesome anybody that wants to be there, yes, absolutely,
But all the things that he's supposed to fix that
any new coach should fix with your team, he's not fixing, right.
(09:35):
He's supposed to be a culture guy, right, culture call?
Speaker 6 (09:37):
All right?
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Great, So maybe you don't win games, but what do
you have. You have a team that's gonna play hard
all the way through. Well, clearly that's not the case.
You saw the effort they put up. Uh, you know,
two weeks ago the last couple of weeks. For the
first three quarters of the game, They're not going to
commit stupid penalties.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Nope.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
Stupid penalties continue to dog this team, but the thirteen tonight.
They were the most penalized team in the NFL last year. Okay,
that's gonna get Nope. Still the most penalized team in
the NFL this year. They're gonna cut down on turnovers, Nope.
Still turning the football over two three times a game,
not getting any turnovers themselves, Still have no turnovers this year.
He's a defensive coach, defensive coordinator. You got to get
(10:15):
past the whole The Jets defense is too good to
be playing this. No, clearly, the Jets defense stinks that
they're getting worked by a Dolphins team that was without
Tyreek Hill for the vast majority of the game tonight.
I want to like Aaron Glenn, but all the things
that coaches do their first year or the team, even
if they don't win, that you can look at. This
is the scoreboard of Hey, we're building something. We have
(10:36):
a couple of building blocks here. The players are responding,
they're in it for each other. I don't see any
of that.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
I see the same stupid play that I've seen from
the Jets for the past forty some odd years. Right, Like,
what do I say, teams? You just can't get past
your nature, right, you can't get past that, and the
Jets can't get pass not being able to handle success,
not be able to handle failure.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
It's a whole thing. But the one thing you would
expect to see change for any new coaches. All Right,
when you change coaches, the players are going to buy in.
And I don't know if they're bought in. I have
no idea, because they still keep doing the same dumb things.
Late hits out of bounds, late hits on the quarterback,
pre snat penalties. That's still How is this still happening?
How are you penalized that many times?
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Right?
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Because it's penalties and turnovers that killed you tonight now,
a couple of really really bad calls. I'm sure the
NFL will apologize to the Jets for over the course
of the week that just didn't make any sense. But
buying large, they do this to themselves. And I want
to say, Okay, I went from thinking Aaron Glenn's a
really good coach, they got the right guy, to now
I don't know, man, I really don't know. Because if
(11:38):
you are not pointing to wins and losses of success,
but you want to point to increments of turning things around,
it's better than this.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
You know it's not.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
But that's the thing, right, Like if you're clean in
the turnover and it's you're at five hundred, right, you're
basically you're giveaway takeaway as a zero fine. You're not
even close. You're looking at the penalty numbers and to
your point, a couple of them more bogus. That pass
interference on Garrett Wilson was insane, made a great catch,
(12:06):
which they also got wrong because they called that incomplete
and clearly on review that would have been a touchdown.
But all of that to say the there was a
huge holding pedalty, which was one of the greatest takedown.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
It was like a belly to belly souples.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
But right next to him, you've got the center having
his helmet, the helmet knocked up like it like it
was rocking and sock and robots and doesn't get the
offsetting pedally like all of these things had. You had
a late hit on the on the final drive where
they threw the play before the touchdown where Mason Taylor
on the ground and is hit from a running Dolphin
player and there's no flag, and I thought Aaron Glenn's
(12:39):
head was gonna explode like scanners. Well, and Justin Fields
on the sidelines had a play where Judas him.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Past the white, not in the white where that's bad enough.
Past the white he gets tackled. No, no flag.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
I was alway disappointed you didn't have a bunch of teammates,
not that you needed another penalty. Jude should not have
been able to walk away from Well there was on
the Dolphins sideline, So it's a little you know, but
but even still, like one of your teammates has got
to be there to at least acknowledge that that nonsense.
But but that's the worst part is that the Jets
have gotten so many bad penalties. And so I get, okay,
(13:11):
well I can't. Well, they're gonna throw the flag here.
Oh no, no, really, we're not gonna throw a flag
on that. You gonna throw a flag on that? Really, So
you got you got a bunch of stuff like that.
So it all adds up the other thing. And look,
I have no knowledge. We're in the studio. We have
no sound.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
But we saw the video of the Justin Fields presser.
Those lights were pret lights on.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Light lights were off, and he's wearing the big glasses
and he'd just been in concussion protocol. Yeah, and you've
got a Sunday date now it.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Was wearing no.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
I think that I think they turned off. I think
the Jets are decided lists we're gonna save some money
on the season. We're not gonna need lights. Just return
the lights off. I mean they got I mean, look
the guy, the guy ran for you know, he had
a big night throwing the football.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
He had a big night. You had a big run.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
It wasn't really I can't say it was Justin Field's
fault tonight. It's the offensive lines trash. It's a number
of penalties, the pre snap stuff that they're no communication,
like all of it. Check check every box of things
that you're supposed to carry it up as a year
one guy, it's not that.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
That that stuff that you like.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
I look at I look at Liam Cohen and go, man,
the guy's got the Jaguars three and one. He's decided
we're going to be a running football team. Blank you
Trevor Lawrence, You stink. I've seen you play for forty.
You're not that guy.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
You're not. We're gonna run the football and play great defense.
Guess what.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
The Jaguars are three and one and he's fighting with
Robert Solid midfield after game.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
I'm a mad name out your mom forty, I mean
really full Will smith Man. I thought he was gonna
slap you. Gotta be doing better. Your team's gotta be
gott to be responding better than that.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
Man.
Speaker 1 (14:37):

(17:07):
Broncos all over the Bengals. Bengalsy to the quarterback Joining us.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Now on the hotline.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Nobody better than a longtime NFL insider Hall A. Very
good voter as dude, take him out of the thirty
third team. He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two.
It is Jason Cole. What's happening to Ja Coley?
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Jordan loves how easy? So the transition from lagrange what
he's round up is really quite stagger Yeah, yeah, I
preferred lagrange, I really do. Yeah, yeah, no, prefer lagrange.
(17:54):
It's much better. But it is there, you go. That's
what we're talking about. That's that's my new intro music range.
I want. I want just bring it right in all right, Yeah,
we need a little change because we are. How much
more can you make fun of the Jets? Actually a lot?
(18:16):
Actually yeah, two days for you Jets, Matt's ef j Cole,
I got.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
News for you, man, Like this is this is probably
because of the sheer toe because I'm a Syracuse guy.
Remember we had a no show Saturday after beating Clemson, right,
Like I've lost bigger games in in my life as
a fan like there, but I think the sheer tonnage
of what happened this weekend, like this is the worst
sports weekend of my life, like these last three days,
(18:45):
Like I don't know that I've had a worse weekend
in sports than this, Oh, just because of everything. I really, honestly,
I can't believe nothing happened to the Knicks. But maybe
we're gonna find out something did happen. Oh by the way, Yeah,
last weekend, Jalen Brunton announced he wanted to trade.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Oh isn't the star of like just Groundhog Day? Like
you're re living the same day for your entire lifetime,
you know, Yeah, that's exactly That's what being a Mets, Jets,
Syracuse and Nicks fan is right the ground.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
That's hard.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
Yeah, yes, and we'll we'll talking heads in there, same
as it ever was, same as it ever was. There
we go.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Sorry, time isn't after us. Time isn't holding us time?
Speaker 4 (19:30):
You know, after us?
Speaker 1 (19:31):
I keep coming back to us, right, Like the Dolphins
are terrible and they want tonight because the Jets are
worse and watching like what.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
It's a predictable win. It's Monday night game team with
a team that's I won three at home. Yeah, like
the Dolphins don't win that game. I mean, Mike mc
daniels should just like walk into the middle of the
Everglades and give himself up to the Alligators. I mean
it's really that's the only choice you have.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
At that point.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
You can't you can't coach at that point. You can't
meet the Jets on Monday night at home. I mean like, like,
this is the biggest news since Bad Bunny early in
the day, you know, but in Miami. But like if
it doesn't, it doesn't go well, you just you take yourself.
I mean, maybe you go into Big Tippers instead, you know.
(20:22):
But it's a choice between Everglades or everyway. Pretty much,
that's how it goes.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
Okay, the Gators are all whearing dolphins at going He's coming.
Don't worry, he's coming. He's coming.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
Oh yeah, we'll get him eventually, that's what the Gators
are saying. Oh yeah, they're gonna get.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
I want to talk to him first, though, I got questions.
I want to talk to him first.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
All right. We talked to him for a while.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Okay, okay, okay, it's like The Short and Finding Nemo.
I swear to fish or our friends not yes, yes, yes,
not just want to talk to I just want to.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Talk to just say. That's that's it's it's it's not
it's bleak for Mike it doesn't matter what happened tonight,
Like neither one of these games really matters other than
Denver kind of marches on into being you know, competitive
in the best division in football. But well, here's coming
(21:11):
off this though.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Jay calls, like the thing we talked about a few
minutes ago is that doesn't Cincinnati's two and two. Burrow's
not coming back. They spent a lot of money this season.
Don't they have to go get a quarterback. Don't they
have to go try to get somebody now because this
offense has just been putrid.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
Well, knowing Mike Brown, he's likely to ask for refunds
on these contract.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Wait, wait, wait, I gotta pay for my soda again.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
What I wasn't guaranteed victory? Like what happened here? I
need here?
Speaker 3 (21:42):
They told me if I was spent, I would win.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
Jamarrow. I'd like some of that money back. What that's
a classic Uh yeah, I mean, uh, you know, I
don't know what Cincinnati really does other than plays out
the string. I mean, but they've got to figure out,
(22:09):
like they just have to figure out how to how
to keep this guy protected. I mean, I mean, this
is an obvious thing. But like their window their window
is going to collapse on them with all these big
dollar contracts over the next couple of years, and then
they're just going to have to go out and rebuild
the whole thing. And at a certain point, Burrow is
(22:30):
going to look around and go, Okay, I know I'm
from Ohio, but did I really have to just get
stuck in purgatory?
Speaker 7 (22:38):
Like?
Speaker 4 (22:39):
Is that? Is that how he feels after a little
while of going through this. I mean, especially if he
has to refund money to Mike Brown. I mean because
Michael asked for that too, a lost brow for some
money back like an injury clause too. Mad NFL owners
asking for refunds.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
This is that would not be guys at all.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
You to be the guy he would have, absolutely be
the guy he would have. Yeah, now, now Jerry would
just you know, ask for you know, like I need
another couple of years on that contract, give me a
couple more, okay, can you just I want to control
your your ever last and soul, you know, because I
(23:21):
need to soul the latch onto when I'm done here.
So I just need I need to collect as many
as I possibly can.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
So so speaking of Jerry, you got to talk about he's.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
A bad guy for science fiction movie.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
Now, Oh absolutely, And Jerry Jerry's like running invasion and
body snatchers and and and you know, meanwhile, Jeane is
why I was going, do you have to do this
now too? Like this is what you're gonna do? Like
what I mean, you think you can recreate this whole
thing and just live this whole life again. I mean,
it's over, isn't it? At some point? I just it's
(24:02):
Ben Johnson, Ben Johnson. Did he feels like he got
a victory of over five ft a deity think a
walblank or whatever. However, we say, yeah, did we did
he get victory in that one? Was that? Or did
the policy work? How does that go? As embarrass man?
When you look at that, your reaction is wet well,
(24:24):
I mean.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
She didn't really ask a question on the follow up,
kind of mocked his first team first half effort rather
than asking a question.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
About it was a question. No, she started, and she
couldn't hear the very first part of it didn't go
very well. Do you need to change some things? I mean,
that's a legitimate question after that, So I didn't have
a real problem with her question, you know, but him
kind of like staring her down. Was like, dude, like really,
you couldn't have just you know, like realized you know
(24:52):
who you are compared to who she is.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
No, it's the difficulty.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
There's a lot, a lot of emotion. I mean, you've
seen his postgame celebration. I mean it's it's he's over
the top, man, It's like he's doing he insults the
whole time.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
Yeah, he's He's definitely him and Lim Collen, you know
Collen yesterday that was that was another set.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Robert Salad would erect him though.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Oh my god, Robert sala was just pulled him apart
like a roasted chicken. That's that's how bad that would
have done.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
Roasted chicken.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Who's going to the market, Let's go roast chicken.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Glsons have the best roasted chickens in Los Angeles.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
It would be a pricey roasted chick there's a lot
of money.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Yeah, very very very pricey. I mean, man, but Nelson's good,
good roasted chicken. Publics in the South, publics in the South,
very good roasted chicken.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
Team Strawberry Strawberries, Ja Coole.
Speaker 9 (25:49):
Well, there's there there, there is that. Well we got
we got there's a Gelson's over in the neighborhood where
Andy Reid grew up.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
So I went and bought one of those fourteen dollars shrubbers.
It was was it was delucktible way.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
Did you know that he was in the pun passing
Kid competition when he was a kid.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Did you know they were We're going over there.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
How about Jerry Jones asking what it tastes like to
kiss your sister?
Speaker 6 (26:17):
What?
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Hold on? What was this fun?
Speaker 10 (26:19):
Well?
Speaker 1 (26:19):
I mean the tie is kissing your sister? Oh yeah, yeah,
so we get out of that.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
I mean, yeah, I like it. You gave this big
tie and everything else and like and then Micah Parsons
is gapping after the game. It's like, dude, it was
a tie, like stock yapping, Okay, you gotta win the game.
The gap okay, and they can't yap either. Nobody gets
the yap. It was. It was fun. It was interesting.
Neither team can play any defense at this point in time,
(26:47):
which is kind of an indictment of Micah. You know,
like if he's score forty, Micah, you should be able
to win that game, you know. But the kissing your
sister thing, like, all right, Jerry, this is not impressive.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
Let me get to play the Jets this week, though.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Do you think there's a there's an opening for a
new clock operator in Dallas for the games? Because boy
that I thought for sure that one second is gonna
come off the clock at.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
The end of that game.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Yeah, there's some people who are in trouble operating the
clock in Dallas.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Uh, where's that guy, Bob? Where I gotta find? I
gotta find what happened there?
Speaker 4 (27:26):
That was?
Speaker 3 (27:26):
That was a really quick quick stop on that.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
A little bit of a victor all right here coming
off the field. He might have hurt me though. I
could have ended like Linn Cone being like a roasted chicken.
That could have been.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
See, now you get a little bit too Now you
can throwing Elvis in there a little bit, and that's
a little bit too much.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Well, look, I'm not good at this, I admit it.
I don't pretend like some people that they do a
good Jerry jam, but they just kind of throw it
out there.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Dude, Mike coming back to me.
Speaker 5 (28:04):
Listen to Jerry now, he sounds like he's doing an
impression of me, doing an impression of him when he.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
Talks it sounded like something out of like a Dom
Delaisee person appearents.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
Just from a Charlie Coffman movie.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
You know, he saw the writes, all that kind of
outland and stuff that's temporaneous, and so it's kind of
one of those things where it's impressions of impression.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
There is no way, there's no way. You know, Jerry
Jones has ever said the word extemporary.
Speaker 6 (28:34):
J Cole, How's it? How's it?
Speaker 3 (28:39):
I saw the end of the DiCaprio movie, except.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Where the thing was spinning out with all all these
different realities happening here, and I'm gonna find reality where
the cowboys are four and.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Oh, inception. It's sort of like interception. Who could use
a couple of those? We give you a couple of
more interceptions. But if I had a pass resher old
I did have one, he could have gotten can we
get my back? I'll make up with them.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Was in the pre game yea, when he was sitting
at that desk and they showed the picture of Parsons
running out there, he got all whiskey, yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Yeah, sorry, yeah, I'm not I'm not buying that. The
only thing he was sad about is he didn't get
more airtime. He was like, I'm only getting five seconds
of airtime. I really think I should scratch itsat to twelve.
He stretched that a little bit more, honey, and get
the cowboy's emblem up there. Chi ching, baby, chi ching.
(29:37):
I just want up another billion dollars. There you go.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
Hey, let let's let's finish with this a big push.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
I'll profession at all. I just keep talking for another
couple of hours. We can do this.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Yeah, yeah, I don't.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Know, all right, what's your question.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
That's because Jason Call's wife just looked at him like,
I'm just kidding. That's like in Midnight Run when he goes,
I will shoot him, I will dun't min the swamp
and he looks him in shake.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
He said, no, yeah, yeah, yeah. It gives him that
you assured look like I promise.
Speaker 9 (30:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:08):
So good. Looks so good at that moment.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
I don't need this. I will shoot him. I will
dump in the blanket swamp. No, no, no, not doing man.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
We once carried the number of that bombs and that
I think it's like two hundred and thirty six or something.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Like Wolf of Wall Street.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Huh oh, it's so far up there and it said
some naturally. It really is. It is said some naturally.
It just comes out in all different kinds of ways.
But anyways, I don't I'll let's let that go because
that's gonna get me in trouble with the sec in moments.
I know that, So let's go.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty a fashion question?
Speaker 4 (30:45):
What was the fashion question? Asking quick? I'll answer it quick,
right quick?
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Okay? Are you okay with a tie? Would you rather
see it play out? Are you okay? Forty to forty?
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Now?
Speaker 4 (30:55):
I want to see I want to say that play out.
I like that. I mean, look if it had been
other teams, but it's Packers and the Cowboys. I really
wanted to see because I want to see the Packers win.
I really actually, what all I wanted to do is
I want that game to play out until the Packers
have the lead and we declare them winner, because then
I can mock my Cowboys friends. That's all I want.
(31:15):
All I want.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
There it is, here's this drop the mic moment at
Jason Cole sixty two. That is, at Jason Cole sixty two.
He has been called the Special Agent Alonzo Mosley of
the NFL. J Cole is always buddy appreciated.
Speaker 4 (31:29):
Man.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
We'll talk to you next week. Have fun by J Cole.
I know, to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports. A guy who spent the last forty
five minutes breaking down the chance that Hunter Green can
win Game one for the Reds. It's Steve de Seger.
Speaker 10 (31:45):
Pretty good chance. When't you just say, honestly, it's not
like he hasn't pitched a Dodger before. I take that back,
I got what you got there, he said. He's red hout.
The Dodgers will be hosting the Reds and LA native
Hunter Green tomorrow night and the Firs to the best
of three wildcard series. Blake Snell will go for LA,
then Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Wednesday night's game number two.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
Again.
Speaker 10 (32:08):
The best of three wildcard series all begin Tuesday, with
all the games at the better seeded team, so games
on Tuesday, Wednesday, and if necessary, Thursday. So for LA,
for example, Shoheo Tani could start a Game three if necessary.
Dodger catcher Will Smith took batting practice tonight at the stadium,
trying to return from a broken hand. Texas Rangers manager
(32:28):
Bruce Bochi will not return. He's been offered an advisory role.
Skip Schumacher could reportedly be promoted from advisor to manager.
There The Minnesota Twins fired manager Rocco Baldelli after seven years.
The Giants fired manager Bob Melvin back in July. San
Francisco had picked up his option for next year. The
Mets Carlos Mendoza will return for a third season. The
(32:50):
Pirates gave intoim manager Don Kelly the job full time.
The Diamondbacks will reportedly keep manager Tory Leavello for a
tenth season. There were two NFL games to night. Denver
beat up Cincinnati twenty eight to three, bo Nicks with
three total touchdowns, one interception, three hundred twenty six yards
passing the Bengals on the first drive, Tonight kicked a
(33:11):
short field goal. After that, nine drives, five first downs,
only ninety seven yards of offense.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
JK.
Speaker 10 (33:18):
Dobbins meanwhile, became the first hundred yard rusher for the
Broncos in their last thirty eight games. Dobbins on sixteen
carries at one hundred one yards on the ground.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
I think Tatum Bell was the last one hundred yard
rush for the week.
Speaker 10 (33:32):
Going Big Wow twenty years ago, Miami beat the Jets
twenty seven to twenty one. Each team was oh to
three devo hn ninety nine yards rushing and a touchdown.
Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was carted off with a
dislocated knee. NFL Network points out he could have multiple
ligament tears as well. Hill was six receptions sixty seven yards.
(33:52):
The Jets three fumbles thirteen penalties. They did get field
goals from Nick Folk of fifty and fifty eight yards
and that touchdown run, which was a beauty from quarterback
Justin Fields. He started. He's out of concussion protocol, had
the run effect seven carries eighty one yards, had a
touchdown pass. That forty three yard touchdown run came on
(34:13):
a fourth down. He actually scrambled around so much he
literally traveled eighty five yards on the play. Linebacker Jordan
Brooks of the Dolphins eighteen tackles in the wind. Giants
wide receiver Malik Neighbors is out for the year with
a torn acl Giants owner John Merrisis is being treated
for cancer. He says he'll still be active as the
(34:33):
team's president. And CEO. The Merra family has owned the
New York Giants since they were founded in nineteen twenty five.
Speaker 1 (34:39):

Speaker 4 (35:50):

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Monkey, so you know what makes this whole Jets lost
tonight even worse, right, even even worse level it him
gade anymore?
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Right again, this is part of what this may.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Be the worst sports weekend of my life because of
the again, the tonnage of everything. Uh what did I
have to watch yesterday?
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (36:11):
The Giants have hope. Now Jackson Dart takes over the
MetLife Stadium is rock and they beat the Chargers who
were undefeated. And again I did tell you the Giants
getting the points where the play last week?
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Oh yeah, but I thought the Charger would pull it out. No, no, no,
no no.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
Jackson Dart scores his first NFL touchdown without Molik Neighbors.
Obviously that's a huge deal now, losing him for the season,
one of the most exciting players in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (36:33):
But when you have a quarterback, you have hope. And
now here's the Giants. Oh yeah, yeah, we had Eli
for a while. We got a guy. The Jets are
on like year forty five of trying to find a quarterback.
But nope, the Giants said, hey, we unearthed the guy,
Jackson Dart. He's our guy.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
And here he is, and he looked exactly like I
thought he was gonna Look, he was decisive, he put
the ball in tight windows. The offense looks way different
than it did with Russell Wilson. The even the playbook
was dialed back a little bit. Obviously, it didn't just say, hey,
go ahead, let's run all the plays. Not quite what
you're going to get when Dart really takes over. Feels
(37:06):
comfortable in a couple of weeks. But you could just
still tell the difference in the team yesterday, what the
offense could accomplish, you know, missing Look, Tyrone Tracy was out,
so Cam Scataboo got all the carries yesterday, and obviously
playing without Molik Neighbors, and still they're able to have
enough to win this game against a really, really talented
Chargers team. Now I have to watch the Giants who
(37:26):
are in the same boat as the Jets, or we
all thinks it's so terrible, we're getting a new head coach.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Everything is bad.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Now, oh hey we have a quarterback. Now everything is great,
Everything is awesome. Guy a dual threat. And that's the
one thing. As we watched that game develop, he did
not shy away from contact, which is as soon as
he gets back to the sideline, if I'm Brian Dable.
I put my arm around him and say, please don't
do that again. Go down live to see another day.
The pinball thing works for a while, but you want
(37:53):
to shorten your run, that's how you do it. But
also it's what makes him that much of a threat.
I think is is over under on the betting line
was thirty two and a half rushing yard, so the
expectation was that he'd come out and get after it.
Finished with fifty four in the touchdown ten carries. Scatibo
is the juggernaut of your X Men series, no question
(38:16):
about it. Just running through walls and that'll run.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Its course as well. We'll see how long you do that.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Where the curiosity is Darius Slayton becomes a big part
of your passing game again, trying to make Darius Slayton
happen for a long time. Year eight of making Darius
Slayton happen. So yeah, So the passing game will be
interesting to watch its development without the leak Neighbors availability.
But for one day they had the answer for the
(38:44):
Chargers got up for this game and played well in
Brian Dable and all the reports afterwards, you know, sharing
that moment in the locker room is great. But as
a Jets fan, I can understand how vexed you are.
All the guys that you drafted got good elsewhere. Yeah, no,
and here and here's the thing, and this is why
if you have two ways to build a team, right,
(39:07):
and we see we've seen teams do this. Hey, we
are gonna be loaded everywhere. We're not gonna quite have
the money for a quarterback, but we will have enough
at that position.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Don't worry.
Speaker 5 (39:16):
And then those other teams saying, hey, I don't know
what the rest of the team's gonna be, but we
got our quarterback. I will always side six days a
week and twice on something. With a team that has
a quarterback, you will figure out the rest of it.
There's a reason why these are the guys that win
super Bowls, right, you don't win, Hey, we got our
back around to squad. You know, as far as guys
would get, they're not gonna be Super Bowl champions. But
(39:38):
when you have a quarterback, anything is possible. A quarterback
covers up all the.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
Ills you have.
Speaker 5 (39:44):
You can have a bad defensive line, your defense can
be terrible, but hey, if your quarterback's gonna win a
big shootout for you find If he's gonna make the
clutch plays at the end, that's fine. I would much
rather have that. Give me a team with a quarterback
and absolutely nothing else. I know they're gonna win, and
win bigger more than the team that's built everywhere but
doesn't have the quarterback. This is why for the Giants,
everything is possible now. These guys, maybe Brian Dable keeps
(40:06):
his job and be Joe Shane keeps his job. Maybe
free agents want to show up now. Everything is possible
now with New York because of Jackson Dart.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Well, you got a couple of years to work with
him on the lower deal and build around him. You
can go shopping in the uh sometimes overpriced grocery store
and go get your stuff to build because you have
that luxury TJ clearly speaking of overpriced grocery stores, the
Giants would be air Wand without Jackson Dart that was
(40:35):
really I just light up there and all you did
was dunk. You had to think about no, no okay,
oh air wand no okay, no okay, got oh got it?
Speaker 11 (40:44):
Got me, I got a little I got a little
deep on you there Terri little deep on you there.
I thought you were gonna start going Lord of the Rings.
Not everything's gonna be a fastball down the middle.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
No, but I laid it up based on other conversations,
just to be a tongue in cheek. You decided to
put the name on your chest exit out about a
Fresca exit swelling dumb. Yeah, the Giant's at right, and
you got a quarterback. It's all possible.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Sorry, Jets.
Speaker 5 (41:10):
We got more NFL on the way and a couple
of huge stories out of Major League Baseball going to
the playoffs tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
I hate to say I told you so about the Dodgers,
but Fox
