Hello, Welcome in Side Hour two the mcal Bridges Show
with my bes friend Jalen Brunson. Well, Hobo, what a
night we have for you tonight. And I'd love to
be able to tell you we have a second game
just as good as the first. But I really I
(00:52):
can't do that. I but Jason, I can't do that.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Given the history of the playoffs, I can't never say
never again. All Right, it's the old Sean Connery return
to double O seven.
Speaker 1 (01:04):

Knicks and the Thunder, the Knicks would have the Thunder
right where they wanted them, but it's not. The Thunder
(01:25):
lead the Nuggets right now at halftime eighty seven fifty six.
So yeah, gonna need a little bit something something in
the second half to make this a game. This is
one of those check in games where where NBA fans
can stop and go, hey, family, we can have a
little bit of a game night or something. Now, I
wanna go out get ice cream. I thought you were
watching the game at the thirty one point game we
(01:46):
go get ice cream. If it gets closer, we have
to get in the car and get back really fast.
But let's go get ice cream. Let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Come on, let's go down to the local watering hole.
Maybe there's some trivia, maybe some midweek karaoke to let
some steam off on hump Day. I don't know. Maybe
we could just go for a walk around the block.
Whatever it is, it's got to be better than the
pain and the bleeding eyeballs through the first half of
this one. This is just absolutely uh. You've already got
(02:13):
six guys in double hey, come on, I mean I
might be able to go find them at the park
out here.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Now, speaking of going to find something and having a
long journey in mind. Let me let you know about
what's going to be happening potentially tomorrow with Celtic's legend
Paul Pierce, who was on Speak for Yourself Today on
FS one. Previewing the Celtics game against the Knicks tonight,
Paul Pierce said, quote, if the Celtics lose Game two
(02:44):
at home, I'm walking here tomorrow, fifteen miles in my robe,
no shoes on, barefoot, put the house on this game.
A little less than hour ago, Paul Pierce posted a
picture detailing the route from his home to the studios.
It's gonna take him eight hours to walk from his
(03:06):
home to the studio tomorrow, barefoot in a robe, to
get ready to do the show. So probably whaty it's
eight o'clock the night night, Like Paul Pierce, you gotta
leave now, man, You got to You gotta leave your
house now if you're gonna get there in time.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah, you got to commit to the bit right that's
out there. I mean, Bucher and so many others have
gone out of their way to make sure and point
out this bold proclamation from Paul Pierce. So yeah, it's
it's getting extraction. Look, this is where hopefully you uh,
maybe he's a big wrestling fan and he's got some
big flamboyant robe that he's bought quiet for a personal collection.
(03:41):
I mean, you just lean into the bit at this point,
even if you only walk that last quarter mile with
a bunch of in and claim you are up all
night going through the streets and whatever. Like met know
marathon runners, you know, not the ones that want to
tell you that they run marathons all the time, just
the ones that after they do, it's like, you know,
I ran that marriae that So did you get dropped
(04:02):
off a mile? And then you want to see how
quickly you can turn a room? So when did you
actually join the race?
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Oh duck, I just I just kind of read. Let's
like Rosie Ruiz, right, that the big that see that's
a thirty fourth. I don't know if they did want
or not, but that she's the one that won the
uh the Boston New York Marathon, New York Marathon like
in the seventies, and she set like an incredible time
and it was no one knew who she was. All
(04:30):
of a sudden, she's crossing the finish line. And it
was like, how is this person no one's heard of
setting a world record for the marathon. It turns out
she was on the subway and she jumped in, and
like Rosie Ruiz, became this huge story. Yeah, she won
the New York Marathon.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Go back and find out she's having a sandwich at
a bodega. Uh, stopped off for a little coffee.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Oh, she was on the subway, so yeah, looking at
the raccoon sandwich, they said, no, hey, hey, hey, hey,
right hey, we got to protect our rackets, rat ratcoot
a raccoons, raccoons with potential drug issues. After that story
today from Ohio, we have to kind of watch out
for them, right, change the game hashtag protect the raccoons.
We have to do that. I'm looking at Paul Pierson. Yeah, man,
this is gonna be some kind of walk, especially because
(05:13):
like San Vicente Mountain Park is temporarily closed. He's got
to go around there and barefoot. Like that's gonna be tough, man,
That's this is gonna be boy, Paul, you really need
to leave now. You really need to leave now. If
you're gonna get there in time, you gotta I mean
eight o'clock it's gonna be eight hours, probably more than that.
You're gonna want to stop. You wanna get something to eat.
You don't want to do something for your feet? Man,
I don't know. I don't know what.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
He's got a wheelchair.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
I don't know. Oh no, he said walk barefoot. He
does he get that wheelchair anymore? Does he get the wheelchair?
I will walk to work tomorrow barefoot.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, the barefoot's a dangerous proposition. I mean owing to
the raccoon and said and paraphernalia that are on the
streets and in the park. Okay, across Los Angeles. You
don't know that you want to go down that path
of walking barefoot around too far?
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Okay? Yeah, yeah, I don't want Yeah, Okay, I'm well,
you know what, I'm a kind I'm like Xerxes in
the three hundred. I'm a kind God. I'm kind. I'll
be I'll let you wear whatever shoes you want, but robe,
but the robe. But wearing a robe, and maybe make
it a blue and orange robe or a Knicks robe.
But I'll be okay in shoes to walk and you know,
because I don't want anything bad to happen to his
(06:18):
feet and have to get in the.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Wheel times right, No, I mean, look, the feet are important, right,
I mean you remember the end of Cheers. What did
they say, comfortable shoes.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
That's how you got Jesus sandals. I'm okay.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
We we did get a programming update because someone pointed
out it's actually speak. I don't know if it's a
producer from the show or or who it is under
Ralph's goods, but you know, just so you don't get admonished.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Because Ralph's good and you see La jumpsuon. He may be,
but again so that will be pop.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Paul.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
You gotta leave now, Paul, Paul, you gotta leave now.
Put an energy bar in one of the rope pockets
and maybe someone will follow give you water. But yeah,
let's make it happen. Let's do it right now.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Nothing else. Get a body double to walk the first half.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Yeah, no, get him, get a bodied I'll meet you there.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
I mean it's dark out in the street. It's like, hey,
he's walking.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
I'll meet you at the getty at four am. That's
where I'll go. Wind, I'm gone.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
You start singing stars.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Good luck, Paul, have a nice commute in to work tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Can't wait to see that tomorrow morning. That'll be great.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
I'll get traffic reports going near the four or five freeway. Hey,
and from someone who's done it before. Don't walk on
the freeway. It's not safe. He's not getting too far
with a full diaper. Oh wow, Frostburg really on the
heel turn tonight. Forget about it now. So if that
(07:44):
was the only big former NBA star reaction to show
tonight to the Knicks win over the Celtics night, that
would be enough. But there's more. Former Nick Cavalier Laker Okay,
former NBA legend j R. Smith recorded himself watching the
final possession of the Knicks game in real time, and
(08:08):
this is him watching the final. This is the final
that Brunson hits the free throws. Final possession is Jason
Tatum dribbling down court. Here is j R. Smith live
recording himself watching the end of the next game. Heme, on, now.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Let's go, let's go pressure there we go, step up,
bro step up, broh, step up, Broh, step up, Broh. No, no, no, going.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
New York, New York.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
I think j R. Smith, I think was more into
the end of that game than he was the end
of the finals games. He was actually Smith, huge boner,
a little confused with that. He knew what was going
on here. He knew how much time was left of
that game. He knew what the score of the game was.
He knew everything going in Man j R.
Speaker 6 (09:25):
Smith learns when he was yelling no, no, no, did
he like think were Russell Westbrook had the ball?
Speaker 1 (09:30):
He was yelling no, no, don't let Tatum, don't don't
let Tatum penetrate like he's saying to keep him out,
keep him out, don't let him penetrate. No, no, no,
because that penetration, that's what's going on on that and
he's going no, no, and then of course, you know, Michael
Bridges just takes the ball away again again.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
It was a little public service announcement in the middle
of that excited utterance. And I'll say it goes viral
again for this, and it's brilliant.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
My reaction was better. My reaction is out now. No
he took it. I can't even get but my screaming.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Again to that to your throat, and that's dangerous.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
In a situation where we were in the kitchen watching
and it's me and Moncey and bo and Shay Still,
Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington were on the air, said
we could hear you through the soundproof door yelling from
the kitchen. Again. I go, okay, just want to make
sure because if I yelled that loud in the first game,
I gotta yell this loud in the second game. Not
even know what I yelled? I could. I couldn't even
tell Monsey do you know what I yelled?
Speaker 5 (10:22):
Do you know?
Speaker 1 (10:22):
What? Can you say on the air? Mons? Is she manty?
Not paying attention because Monzy bet on this game? Okay,
that's going on. But I don't even know what I yelled.
I really don't. But it was one of the It
was one of those things where it's like, okay, let's row,
let's row. I wanted to walk in and go, okay, Rob, Kelvin,
you guys are done. It's come on, you guys are done.
I'm done. I'll give you I'll give you an extra
half hour off, come on, ready to start. I'm ready
(10:43):
to start. Now, let's go, let's go.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
I don't know you You got them talking about the game,
So that was good, right, Yes, they were worried about
your mental well being.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah, yeah, but now we're going to the final. So
it's okay, Jason, what do you got Frosburg? We do?
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Have you?
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Mike done? What he miked up from it? There was
we weren't going to make you up. I didn't know
if you're gonna have audio. I didn't even tell you
we were well, I didn't know. Okay, is it is?
Speaker 5 (11:07):
It?
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Is it okay to air.
Speaker 6 (11:09):
Reaction to the Knicks beating the Celtics to go up too.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
So this is right after the final play Bridges steals
the ball again and they're up to zip. Yeah, it's okay.
We can play it on the radio. We'll find out,
all right, all right, all right, go ahead, let's play it.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Go ahead, Jason Smith's.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
That was me. That's like in the Simpsons when they
go who was that woman screaming? Oh it was Flanders? No,
that was that was absolutely me. That was absolutely right there.
Oh man.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
But we talked about it a little bit last hour.
For those just joining the show, thank you, uh welcome
in wherever you are however you're listening globally on the
iHeartRadio app. Thanks for being part of it. Jason. One
of the things for us as a as a unit
as a team. There there is an admiration for your
love and the way you wear your love of your
teams on your sleeve to a point because I've become
(12:14):
jealous of it, because I've come I've become that resigned
guy that my team's gonna stink. So when they actually perform,
I'm just in a level of shock where I can't
jump around and go in excitedly into that good night.
But for you, man, it's all there. If the emotion,
the raw emotion, is better than anything that you could
(12:36):
fabricate in a Hollywood studio.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
If you thought, if you thought I was some kind
of reaction, Wait, do you see what MSG is like
for game three? It's gonna look like the zombies attacking
Jackson in the last episode A Last of Us. Like,
it's everybody's just gonna be running around screaming at the
top of their lungs. Way, do you see the stars
who turn out for this game? And you thought tonight
that was something?
Speaker 5 (12:59):
No?
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Wait, I'm just being told again there's more audio of me.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
No, not you, No, what is it? What Jayson Tatum
was miked up?
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Oh this is Jason Tatum miked up at the end
of the game. Okay, so this is after he gets
the ball stolen from him, right after literally a millisecond
after okay, millisecond after Tatum miked up, Okay, this is
what he was saying to Michel Bridges. Okay, let's hear it.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Kill that.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Wow, I'm going to kill myself. And it's your fault.
Speaker 7 (13:27):
That's a reaction.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
I can just see him pointing at Bridges and saying that,
and it's your fault.
Speaker 6 (13:33):
Well, you had to give me the ball, take the
ball from you. It's okay, mickil Bridges sounds like that
guy from the office.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
He does a little bit, but that's okay. I think
it's just you know you, sometimes you want to hear something,
but it doesn't sound too much like him. It's okay.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
But but now you want to superimpose that and create
the AI version of it. I'm sure that could be happened,
and that can happen in any minute. Anybody check out
Spike Lee where he watched the game. Was there another
met Gala or anything?
Speaker 5 (13:56):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Yeah, well, right now, Spike Lee can't come to the
games because clearly the Knicks are better. When he doesn't
come to the game, you're done. Shadow may no shallow
MA can go absolutely shallow making go. But Spike, It's like, dude,
you picked, you picked the Metcala. I'm sorry you picked
the metcal. Now stay home while we're winning. Stay home,
respect the wind streak, respect what's going on. But shallow
may shata may I make. We'll have more on the
(14:18):
NBA coming up and been including if you know, maybe
the Nuggets will get to fifty points tonight, but coming
up next a big trade in the NFL today are
the Cowboys suddenly a playoff team? That's next right here,
Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio. Well, twenty has been
a big number the last couple of nights because the
Knicks get down by twenty and then they come back
(14:39):
and win. Forty's been a big number now. Forty two
is a big number. That's how many pounds both Mike

Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show is My best friend.
Mike Harmon, Uh, Denver has hit fifty. Actually have sixty
nine points tonight?
Speaker 3 (16:37):
How about that?
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Except Oklahoma City has one hundred and four. So yeah,
it looks like the home team is going to finally
win a playoff game in round two.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Plus thirty two and a half? Jason, what do you
do that?
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Five Dame betting might get the sixty before it's over.
But we'll have more on the NBA coming up in
a few minutes. But a big day in the NFL.
We saw big trade go down. Maybe the Cowboys. Wait,
maybe the Cowboys could be a playoff team. Maybe joining
us now in the hot line, longtime NFL Insider Pro
(17:09):
Football Hall of Very Good voter. Check him out on
the thirty third team. It is Jason cole ja Cale.
What's happening?
Speaker 5 (17:15):
Man? Go at dude? All right? Beautiful, It's just beautiful.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Do you think that Jerry Jones thinks that he traded
for Carl Pickens.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
Today he thinks he might picking.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Look, I'm gonna do things my way, and my way
is terrible.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
This is one of those moves where it's like subtraction
by addition.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Oh I so want to steal that. This is subtraction
by addition. Right, Okay, So you don't like the George
Pickens trade for the Cowboys.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
Oh god, I can't say it said I wouldn't touch
I wouldn't touch George Pickens with yeah, thirty nine.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
And a half football nicely cartoon.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
Now like you couldn't. You couldn't pay me to put
me to put George Pickens on my team. I can
tell you that right now, No way in it will isn't.
That was like one person today. It's kind of a
red flag if Mike Tomlin because up on a player.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Yeah he puts up with a lot.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
That's janus.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Yeah, he puts up with a lot.
Speaker 5 (18:49):
It's like it's not red, it's fire engine red. It's
just so ut like is there a warning? Two year?
Like after all the years? Just a guy, you know
Antonio Brown and tolerated Antonio Brown for years, but now
he can't have George Pickhams on his team out that.
(19:13):
But oh the Cowboys, Let's see, we drafted a guard.
Nobody got excited about that. Nobody's really gotten excited about
our free agency. Let's trade for George Pickens, and this
is gonna what We'll hook our future on. The guy,
A guy who like just will not run out a
route you know, ever, will yeah, just will never play consistently.
(19:36):
Like there's some he has some amazing moments, like there
was that one catch during training team if he had
with just stunning and then he'll have a game where
I have like seven catchers for one fifty five and
two touchdowns and he's like, Okay, it's now happened. And
then it's like, hath happened? Not even close? Not not
(19:59):
that just won't run out routes. So I'll argue with
this his quarterback, they'll be upset with what's going on.
You know, they hated him in Georgia, they hated him
at Pittsford. They're gonna it's gonna take about six months,
and I'll hate him in Dallas too.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
So you really have no you have no confidence that
Brian Schottenheimer is not the guy to get the most
out of George Pickens. You have no confidence in him. Wow,
that's that's really something.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
My favorite is Brian shot and have. But the story
that came out was it earlier this week or was
it last week? I can't remember where it was. Oh,
they're rearranging the locker room in the and the Cowboys.
It's Cowboys's olivy to get players, you know, leaders closer together.
It's like rearranging, rearranging, get chairs on the I've heard that. Yes,
(20:54):
that's about the five hundredth time I've heard about a team,
you know, trying to you know, age team chemistry by
like reassigning the locker room and and we're doing It's like, yeah,
this is not this is not you know HDTV television show.
You know, that's not what this is.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
This is not no jobs, Well it's borderline.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
This is this, No, no, this is this is high school.
This is high school. Because I was the one that
would I was the one that had to deal with this,
I was going to say, after like the first couple
of days in class, my teacher would say, mister Smith,
why don't you take a seat up here in the
front near me. I know you want to sit in
the back of you why don't you come sit up
near me. I got to change the classroom to make
sure people are paying attention. I'm going to take the
(21:39):
guy who can't stop talking, and I'm going to put
him right in front, away from his friends like that,
Like that's all. That's a strategy.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
Yeah. Well, and on top of that, I'm just going
to bring in this malignant personality too, just like on
top of that, like here, let's rearrange everything, like yeah,
this is Brian Shotten commers idea is to do a
home reno show, like he thinks that that's a great idea.
And then you're going to give him George Pickens. Like
(22:07):
it's just again Mike Tomlin, a guy can who manages
human being better than just about anybody in the NFL. Right.
I mean, say what you want about Tomlin in terms
of winning playoff games and stuff like that, but this
is a guy who's gotten the most that it's real
wreckage of human beings. Like again, Antonio Brent, but he
(22:29):
gave up on George Pickens. That's so. And George Pickens
is supremely talented. Like they said, give me Dk Metcalf
and make let me take him five hundred billion dollars,
but we will not keep George Pickens on a minimum
salary contract.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yeah, I really wanted to see those two kids working
out but on the field this year. So do the
Steelers now think they get extra bonus points for degree
of difficulty of wins or why?
Speaker 5 (23:02):
I'm sorry the the Steers get extra well.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Just based on the roster that's currently assembled. Like now
there's rumors that Alan Wizard is an answer.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
I mean, come on, this is not Let's just say
that right now, if you're picking over under with that,
with their quarterback situation, what are you thinking about five
or six?
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Like yeah, five and a half? Yeah, yeah, they better.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
They better know that that Rogers is showing up. They
need they need something they because if he doesn't, if
he backed out on him, or if you know, they
read the situation wrong, it's gonna I mean, it's gonna
be so hard for the team to compete even with
(23:53):
Rogers if he shows up and he you know, and
he played David, if he really plays well, nine wins
like that, Like, isn't that sort of the feeling for
this team, given you the strength of the division, given
where they're playing. I mean, last year they had really
easy schedule and with easy seats that we're going to
(24:14):
get off too like that that continue heeven and two start,
which is what I think they did. It was really predictable,
and then they had to play in the division and
things get we can play hard for them.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Jason call our guest Jason Smith Mike carbon Lock in
the Fox Sports Radio studios. All right, so away from
the trade. Now the other big story today Tom Brady
does a podcast with Logan Paul and they asked him about, Hey,
Shador Sanders dropping in the draft, what happened with you guys?
And Tom Brady says, oh, I don't know. I wasn't
in on those conversations about him, and then he went
(24:47):
on to get mad that the media was able to
they can say whatever they want to and all this stuff. Okay,
here's the thing, Jay Cole, he mentored, Shador Standers is
wearing number twelve because of Tom Brady and really nobody
yet Brady did not give his opinion at all about
your door, Sanders. They never even asked him, No one
was ever there, No Brady was out of the loop,
(25:08):
and they were evaluating quarterbacks. So they said, hey, he
takes your door standers or not, Brady was not involved
at all.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Tom's Tom is some's a really nice guy. You know,
it's a sad birthday, so it's kind of a break,
you know, like that's that's such a Brady birthday or
it was yesterday. Let's not really get on Tom about this.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Why are you trying to write a book on Tom
Brady's lives? How are you doing? Is how you're doing
the Tom Brady stories?
Speaker 3 (25:42):
How are you doing?
Speaker 5 (25:43):
This?
Speaker 7 (25:43):
Is no?
Speaker 5 (25:44):
This is such a staggeringly bad lie. It's so absturb
It's such an absurd lie. That is like, how do
you even like, how do you even begin to like
to take it seriously? How do you how do you
like look at Tom and go share? Tom? Do you
(26:06):
want me to believe that? Like you come on, come on, Tom,
you were all over the drafts, you were in there,
you're the part owner of the team, you brought in,
you brought in the general manager. And you didn't say
anything about the guy who you've been talking about in
(26:29):
previous podcasts, and he's been talking about all the time
how tight you guys were in your relationship, Like you
spent all that time talking about your door. He talked
about you, how tight you've got, how do you how
do you checked back and forth on a daily basis. Right,
(26:50):
But when it came to the draft supercuring talent, Oh
I was I wasn't in the room, you know, like
my dog ate my lunch. By the report I do
somehow like didn't get into the file, Like, yeah, we're
supposed to believe that. Come on, tom stop, just stop.
(27:16):
It's not it's not true. Everybody knows that you have
an opinion about the guy and you didn't like him
enough that you didn't want to on your team for
five rounds.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Yeah, they had a lot of picks, they drafted another quarterback,
and here we are now. You try to do the
side stepping, you know, as a member of the media.
I mean, you've got to be forthright and just honest
with your opinions all the time. I mean, what's he thinking.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
I mean, it's just like, hey, you know, we had
to make an evaluation and we it didn't work for us.
Just say that, don't say that I wasn't around for it,
like I can't. Don't do that. Come up with a
come up with a better line, like you're just not
You're not good like, you're not good like the NFL
(28:08):
showed the professional wires. You're just not.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
You're too nice. You're like when when when Kate Hudson
tells William and almost Famous, you're too nice for rock
and roll. You're too nice, Tom, You're too nice, man,
you're too nice for this.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
Yeah, exactly, you're not. You're not built for them. That
is almost It is such a great by the way,
that's my favorite movie is your favorite?
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Oh yeah, you kidding?
Speaker 3 (28:41):
You just open a huge door here in your relationship
j Cole without even knowing it, like that.
Speaker 5 (28:47):
This is like the mix of movies. Is that what
you're saying?
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Oh no, this is this is more like the This
is more like the Mets and Jets of movies, like
like put them both together and de co mine.
Speaker 5 (28:58):
But this is actually okay, so it could be.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
The NIX of movie. It's the macal Bridges final possession
on defense of movies. That's what it is. He's on
Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. That is at Jason
Cole sixty two. Check him out on the thirty third
team as well. J Cole is always buddy, Appreciate it, man,
We'll talk to you next week.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
Enjoy tell you buddy, here he goes, I love.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
That Brady story. Yeah I wasn't in the room. I wasn't.
And then he wants to go and get mad at
a media that can have opinions on things and all
they could just can say whatever they want to. Dude,
Come on, man, really, you're the part owner. You're mentoring
the guy. And when it came time to discuss if
I wasn't in the room, yeah, I'm not there for that. Oh,
because that's the part where we have the guy that
(29:45):
knows football more than anybody else, who has an inn
with a quarterback more than anyone else. We don't want
to talk to him. We don't want to talk to
him about that. Yeah, I like, he's too nice. He's
too nice for this. He's too nice.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Which is funny because you know, all you have is
plenty of books and articles written about, you know, behind
the scene, how duplicitous he and the Patriots were all
these years. Or are we just pushing that all in
the Bill Belichick bucket at this point. But the funny
thing with the Brady conversation, and you know, hey, teammate
here at Fox don't want to you know swipe too hard,
(30:18):
but he also, out of the other side of his mouth,
started talking about the post should where Sanders conversations of hey,
look at where I was drafted and all those other
things like, Okay, that's great the mentorship side of it,
but you're abdicating the entire leadership side of it for
your team. So like you, I get it. You're trying
to have it both ways. It doesn't quite work. This
(30:41):
is running the running joke we always had with Jerry
Jones when they made a smart pick. Was he locked
in a room or did they build up a council
like he had a Second War room? Right, they did
an exact replica, right down to where his coffee cup
would be located on the desk, and they put him
in that room and fooled him. That's what Brady's trying
(31:02):
to have. You believe in this whole Raiders evaluation.
Speaker 6 (31:05):
Only Why was he texting Shador on a smashed cell phone?
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Well, you could just get to one. It's one of
those cell phones you can just go to one person one.
Then he breaks and throws it away at the end
like they all do in the movies. I'm gonna break
it apart. And throw it away. That's what I did.
I break that, break that cell phone apart.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
See, I was thinking as he evaporated, like he was
in the Avengers movie and he says, oh mother, and
it's the signal out to a logo and it's just
Shador Sanders.
Speaker 5 (31:36):
I like that. I like that.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
You going full Avengers on that. Yeah, let's go speaking
of Avengers. Time not to find out what's trending in
the wide wall of sports from someone who's been called
the Thanos of Fox Sports Radio because she is inevitable.
It's Monty Belano's Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
I like them.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Do you know what that is when I say you're inevitable?
Speaker 8 (31:55):
No, I don't know about it because I won't disappear
in my snap.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
No the last he's inevitable. Did you see I did
see it. I don't okay, don't tell me you stopped
after Infinity No.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
No, no, no, I did see it.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
But Infinity War was my favorite. I did see it through,
but Infinity.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
War was my favorite.
Speaker 8 (32:12):
I will say that I'm not big on superhero movies.
I'll watch them because you know, why not what else
am I doing? But I'm not like big on them.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
But Infinity War is my favorite. Absolutely, no quese, but
I watched it through.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
I watched it.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Did they save the world in the next one, I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
I didn't watch it.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
I don't know what happened in the next one.
Speaker 8 (32:27):
I like the yeah, yeah, it's like I don't care,
but I'll watch him.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Sure, why not.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
I'm a fan of Thanos. I am not a fan
of this game because it's quite boring. Oklahoma City is
just shooting the lights out. It's one, eighteen to seventy
six against the Nuggets with one minute to go in
the third quarter. Shake Gilgess. Alexander is eleven of thirteen
from the field. He's got thirty one points, eight of
eight from the free throw line to go along with
(32:54):
eight assists and four rebounds. It has been okay, See,
the entire games started out really shooting seventy one percent
from the field. They're still shooting almost sixty percent and
again almost down to the end of the third quarter,
all five of okac's starters are in double digits. And yeah,
the Nuggets are just struggling thirty four percent from the field,
(33:16):
forty one percent from the three point line. So no, boy, no,
this is Game two. Okay, see, trying to even the series.
The Knicks were down twenty took Game two from the Celtics,
coming down on top ninety one to ninety. Jalen Brunson
mister clutch himself with the go ahead shot late in
the fourth quarter. Ended with seventeen points and seven assists.
(33:37):
Jalen Brown eight of twenty three for twenty points. And
this is what he had to say after the game.
Speaker 7 (33:42):
You know, we got to make plays. We just didn't
make plays tonight, and that was the story of the game.
You know, our defense did enough. We got some great
open looks. You know we got to convert those.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
I mean, I guess, yeah, but you were up twenty,
that's yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:04):
Yes.
Speaker 8 (34:05):
Obviously he doesn't have a lot to say because it
was embarrassing. The Celtics have missed it. Combine seventy five
three point attempts in these two games against the Knicks.
Also Game three, in case you want to go, seven
hundred and four dollars is apparently the get in price
is what everybody is saying for Game three in New York.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
So I went to Vivid Seats.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Just my app.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
You're actually on your cell phone with this information like
you're gonna buy I just wanted to see if it
was true then sell them for more money. Absolutely not.
But Vivid Seats has a seat.
Speaker 8 (34:37):
I was like, oh, it's six fifty five to get in,
but then you want it with fees eight hundred and
eighty three.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
To get it to this game.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
We're not going, Jason, do I get to see Ben
Stiller or Marisco hard tape? If you bring your binoculars?
Speaker 5 (34:52):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Okay, yeah, I see them. Absolutely, you can see them.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
I found a standing room for eight forty nine.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
I think that's what this is.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
That's all. That's all fees.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
I'm telling you, man, Why do you say MSG is
gonna look like it's gonna be nuts? Oh my god,
it's gonna like zombie apocalypse.
Speaker 8 (35:09):
Yeah, outside of it, you know, it's gonna be crazy, like,
not even just inside, but.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Outside of grease up.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
Those poles will be Thunderdome. Thank you, MONSI, Jason and
Mike Live from the Fox Sports Radio Studios. Coming up next,
we get back into the biggest story of the night.
How about a nice, big hot take. It's served up
fresh and piping hot for you. Next, j you ever
win again.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
What looking for?
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Look to find FS one on your television. Go to
foxsports dot com for details f.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
S one looking for Looking for the.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
Okay, so pretty sure Nicola Yochish just fouled out of
this game on purpose.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Hey I'm out.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Hey Hattleman, take me out of the game. I can't
get it, you know what. I'm just gonna fil twice
to come out of the game.
Speaker 5 (36:09):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Jokic fouls out of this game which the thunder have led.
Just got ejected. It is a forty point lead for
Oklahoma City right now, let's got arrest. Didn't happen? He
might for doing that?
Speaker 3 (36:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Uh one, six eighty six. Jokic commits two thousand in
a row. I've done, I've done. I'm coming out now.
You can't put me back in the game. How about that?
Speaker 5 (36:32):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (36:33):
So you bury the lead.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
Scott Foster was back for this game. He really had
a big impact.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Well, they we had to get a home team and
win at some point. So now finally the home team
is going to win a game in the second round
of the NBA Playoffs. But speaking of the home team
and not winning games, let me take you back to
our game two of the Eastern Conference Semifinals ended for
the second consecutive day with a Celtics player with a
chance to tie or win the game, and mcal bridge
(36:59):
is saying, no, I will take that basketball from you
right now.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
I wanna go. They're not going to use the time out.
Plenty of time here.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
It's Tatum, Robinson, Tom Tatum and Old.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
The right to fix up. They got it so wanted.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
New York has gone up two games, ton on.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Em two sense.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Again at the end, go New York, Go New York.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
Go.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
You know what that's the other the other heel turn,
go New New Year is the fact that you wanted
that highlight in tyser.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
New York, New York.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
I know, right, We're in a bizarro universe.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Yeah right now, Look how excited the heel turn of
Frostbury because I'm freaking bounty hunter that's on rooting for
the Knicks. Are Alex ty shirt bounty hunter? I am
uh Now, look, we'll have then we'll have more on
on the Knick's perspective of this being up to zip
and no coming back to MSG in a few minutes.
But look, Jason Tatum has a chance to win the
game at the end. He you know, he makes a
(38:07):
great decision. He goes down for the dunk to give
them the lead. With fifteen seconds left to go. Brunson
hits free throws mister clutch to give the Knicks the lead,
and then Tatum kind of dribbles into trouble and can't
get out of it and tries to dish the ball
off at the last second and mcal Bridges again steals
the ball on the final play and the knickser up
to zip going home. Even though they won last year,
(38:31):
it was still Jason Tatum didn't get the NBA hug
that he thought he was gonna get. Best player on
the Celtics Here I am or NBA Finals MVP. Yeah, no,
not so much. Yeah, they win, but it wasn't an anointing,
an anointing of Jason Tatum as the next great Big superstar.
It was still, yeah, the Celtics won, great team, Jayson
(38:53):
Tanan trific player, but it wasn't quite to the extent
that we thought it was. When someone wins a title
and in validates their career, like like it was with
when he won a few years ago. If the Celtics
lose this series to the Knicks, and clearly it looks
like that's happening, Jason Tatum's legacy takes such a hit.
It will be like they didn't even win the title
(39:13):
last year. That that's how much Tatum has at stake
right now. Because it was already Hey, you're kind of
at arm's length with how we feel about you after this.
And now if you lose to the Knicks in the
second round of a title defense and we lose to
one of our biggest bitter rivals after we boat race
them four games during the regular season, yeah, it's like
(39:34):
last year didn't happen. And and the Celtics fans and
even NBA experts, they'll be at zero sum with Jason Tatum.
It will be Yes, they won the title, but look
how bad it was in the second round. Now we're
back to square one where he's back to zero having
to prove himself all over again. That's how much he
has at stake in the series.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
Well, because even last year, because he wasn't the finals MVP,
and that got heated and there were questions coming into
the offseason of how much he bristled it that. Yeah,
they won the title, had the great moment. You know,
we saw the video family and everything else. But we
still try to do all those Hey how do you
rank guys, because we love to do it and it's
(40:14):
a fun exercise and begets a bunch of arguments and
then you get your homersm that comes in because you've
watched every game. Right, that's the thing, right, you know
your local teams obviously, us doing the national show, we
do our best to blanket coverage everything we can. But
you know, you might decide, you know, you want to
stand up for your guy. But that's the only time
(40:36):
Jason Tatum was winning any of those arguments and getting
the benefit of the doubt. When you go back to
the national side of it, you know, you got players
like Brunson, You got those singular superstars that carry teams
on their backs. Now here. He's obviously got a lot
of help Brunson, that is from Bridges and others. But
for Jason Tatum, yeah, it was a question of the
amalgam and were they just too strong as a squad,
(40:58):
because that was the narrative all season, They're just too.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Deep coming up next. The big lesson every single NBA
team can learn about the playoffs is on display Fox
that they can't be
