Shirt is going to be getting his own segment tomorrow
night on the show because of the worst possible deal
in the history of deals. Is it only a segment

(01:09):
or which hour is he taking. This is worse, like
like like the Mets deal for Edwin Diaz. This is
what this goes. This is like an awful deal. This
is like the Broncos deal for Russell Wilson. So last
night on the show, we were talking about the Eagles
Giants game. We both picked the game, and I see
I walked into this to the studio to talk to
Frostburg and tight Shirt in the you know, last hour

(01:31):
of the show, and Tyser goes, j J. I go
what he goes? I got, I got a big, big
prediction for the game. Tomart now Alex Tyshert, who does
not pay attention to sports at all, right, like well
he used to not. I think he finally decided he's
been around here enough. He's looking to take over. He's
kind of like when Skynett. You don't think sky Net's
going to become fully aware, but oh sky that becomes
fully aware. I think he's trying to position himself to

(01:52):
where he'll like be the host of a panel show
or something. At this point, no, at this point. Next
week he starts coming in in suit and time's hey, JJ,
I got some stuff for you. Uh so he said,
I gotta tell you. I go what he goes, Giants
are gonna win by two touchdowns tomorrow, and I go,
I think the Giants were my fourteen points smorrow night.
He goes, yeah, I said, I said, that's not happening.

(02:14):
Was okay, if it does happen, I get my own
segment on the show tomorrow night of the Night after
I said deal because I'm sorry I didn't. I didn't
ask anybody else about that, but I felt like, okay,
that's you know, that's like me saying oh yeah, And
if Beyonce says yes to a date, then I get
to go and my wife saying yeah, sure, whatever you know, Okay,
I don't think Pam's gonna deny you that. No, And

(02:34):
if somehow that pull you pulled that off, I mean
she might question how you got yourself into a circumstance
whereby you would be able to ask such a question. True,
that's true. But once to ask and agreed to, I
mean what she gonna say, she would do the here
you go there, go ahead, go ahead, go you're cool,
you're cool, do do with it what you will. So
now we're watching the Giants trying to kill the clock,

(02:56):
They're gonna beat the Eagles ludgend thirty four to seven team.
They've been in control the entire game. A big interception
in the red zone by Jalen Hurts, the Giants go
down the other way turn it into a touchdown for
a seventeen point lead. They have the football back now
Cam Skataboo's just run for twelve yards. There's five minutes

(03:18):
left to go in the game. Skataboo is dragging tacklers
and the Giants are gonna win this game. And we
have to give a segment of the show to tight Shirt.
He says to me five minutes ago, Hey, so uh really,
I could do anything right, And I said, as long
as it's not some sort of scheme, pyramid scheme, money scheme,
anything else. Okay, and you can't curse? Okay, no, no, no, no, Jack,
Come on, Jake, I'm not gonna not.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Gonna do that.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
I canna do it, all right, all right, Fine, he's
gonna he's gonna get his I'm so nervous here. I
would have to note on the last Eagles possession, seven plays,
sixty nine yards, two fifty one off the clock, and
as he's fighting for extra yardage. Backup running back AJ
Dillon has the ball punched out to give the eshion

(04:00):
back to the Giants, and here we go scataboo, carrying
four guys at a time and marching down the field
and marching the clock towards zero. Now this goes back
to what I have said about Philadelphia sports teams is
that no matter how they suck, no, no, no, no matter
how good things are, they have one foot about to

(04:23):
step over the finish line and one foot on the
banana peel. Right, I said all the time, no matter what,
Philadelphia teams always seem to be one step from disaster. Now,
the Eagles give away the win to the Broncos on Sunday.
Broncos come from behind, great defense, two score lead. But
I thought at the time, I said, you know what,
that's actually a good loss for the Eagles. They have

(04:44):
been kind of escaping and surviving this early part of
the year, which kind of goes along with being the
defending Super Bowl champions. Yeah, scratch time. And you know
they got issues with AJ Brown, who wants the ball?
DeVante Smith wants the ball? Are they all on the
same page? But when you're winning and you're escaping. Hey,
everything is good, Everything is good, but when you lose
like that at home, Okay, time out. Now we have

(05:06):
to dig into this and we have to make sure
that we really address the issues that we have. So
now it's gonna be Jalen Hurts and and Brown and
they're all getting on the same page. And and now
they address what's happened. They have to talk about the
elephant in the room with aj Brown being how happy
you're unhappy? He is? He wants the football. He's got

(05:26):
a sign in his locker that says always open. So
you know, what is it? What is gonna happen?

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Now?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Now we got to sit down, We got to figure
it out. We know that Saquon Barkley is not the
Saquon Barker the last year. Remember four hundred touches. You're
not gonna be the same guy the following year. So
we've known this is kind of what it's been. But
now the Eagles have to address it. So I said,
in a short week knowing the opponent, the Giants are terrible. Yes,
I love Jackson Dart and I've told you he was
gonna be good right away, and he is. We'll get

(05:52):
to Jackson Darton a bit, but like, okay, this is
your get well game. This is the perfect time to
do it. You can't get well against the Giants when
he getting well and here tonight they go win. And
this has been an absolute disaster for the Eagles. They've
not looked good from the beginning. The Giants jump ball
over them with a big drive down field. Jackson Dart
runs it in from nineteen yards out for a score.

(06:14):
Skataboo looks like he's playing back at Arizona State and
nobody can tackle him in the Pac twelve when he's
a guy that's not that fast, and still the Eagles
having trouble getting to him and bringing him down like
this is This is an absolute epic fail by the Eagles.
Maybe Jalen Carter is the MVP of the NFL because
clearly the games the Eagles have trouble, he's not been playing.
He was ruled out right before the game started tonight,

(06:36):
and clearly, when you're missing one of the best defensive
linemen in the NFL, it's gonna hurt you. But wow,
the Eagles have just been getting dominated physically and dominated
that they've been making plays on them. The Giants making plays.
Even Jalen Hyatt is drawing pass interference calls in the
end zone, and Jalen Hyatt's terrible. Like this Giants team,
all of a sudden, they look like coming into this game, Hey,

(06:57):
they're the team that's the Super Bowl champion. They're the
team with the excitement and the young quarterback and the
young running back, like everything's coming up Giants. The Eagles
look like they're running in mud, Like, how is this
happening to them? This is an absolute fail. Look at
the Giants schedule going ahead, and they've got they're at
Denver next week, and then you get the fun and
exciting world of NFL scheduling where you're right back at

(07:20):
Philadelphia on the twenty six, So yeah, we've got that
coming up. Those are their next two games. But you
look at the way this thing started. You had another
landing zone error committed by the Giants, which gave the
Eagles great field position. Sakwad Barkley had two carries for
thirty five yards to start the game. Bang, eighteen yards. Bang,

(07:42):
here's another big run. He's got twelve carries for fifty
eight yards right now disappeared. Aj Brown had left the
game for a spell. Right now, he's sitting at sick
catches in eighty yards. You've seen Jalen Hart hurts miss
wide open receivers. Devonte Smith. There's one play that's going
to be shown a million times where it's just lay

(08:04):
it up and let him go get it overthrows him
by about ten yards. But the loss of Jalen Carter,
We've watched them battering ram that Eagles defensive line to
the tune of one hundred and fifty three yards at
this point. Eighty eight from Scatabo, another fifty eight from Dart.
Welcome back, Tyrone Tracy, you're four for six. You did

(08:26):
not get it done. But Dart also with one hundred
and ninety six yards passing, moving the ball around, creating space,
as you say, also throwing it, seeing where the coverage
is and trying to make plays downfield, which is huge,
and giving your receiver a chance to go get it
or draw the interference penalty as appropriate. All of it

(08:49):
is right now, you're sputtering in Philadelphia. I think if
we count the number of shots of Smith and Brown
talking to each other on the bench, we're at about fifteen. Yeah, right,
A lot of finger pointing, a lot of questions I'm
in and to this point you have no answer. It
is as bad as it can get for the Eagles.
I mean, this is a game that's like what is

(09:09):
what happened to us here? Like what absolutely happened to
us in this game. Now, we didn't expect Barkley to
be the replication of what he did a year ago,
but the falloff and the going back to last week
where they didn't use him right, he had six carries. No,
that's inexcusable. I don't care what you're trying to do.

(09:31):
And if you're trying to play Kate Brown and Smith
and everybody else, that's all finding good. They'll get theirs.
But the game begins and ends with what twenty six
does to get you started. Unless you're going to call
a bunch of quarterback draws and get Jalen Hurts running
the football fifteen times, the run game has to be there.
But the offensive line, as we know, is a step

(09:52):
back from what it's been all these years. But in
this game, they've just been dominated on both sides of
the ball. So again, the Giants, facing a third and one,
they can basically end the game with a first down
here Jackson Dart not quite a touch push, but the
quarterback sneak from Dart gets them the first down. There
will be two minutes left to go following the time out,

(10:13):
the Eagles down to one timeout. Giants are gonna win
this game by seventeen points. Tyshert's gonna get his own segment.
Amazon's just showing shots of Dart and Scataboo dancing next
to each other. Now on the field, those flips from scatabour,
next level stuff, the Spider Man meme, and then the
little uh here, here's something you watched from college gymnastics.

(10:35):
We've watched a lot of the UCLA clip one of
nine on third downs tonight for the Eagles, you talk
about the turnovers because they moved the ball on the ball. Yeah,
oh hey, J doing punch out like he could have
saved you right there. Yeah oh yeah, seventeen point game.
He could have saved your bacon. Giants could have killed
the clock and one by ten. Tyshert doesn't get his

(10:55):
own stent to talk about non protein related plan based
vegetables or or I don't.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Know, J.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Dylan owes you an apology or whatever. The highest graded
Pokemon cards that he had. I didn't say JJL, which
would be great because it goes into the four Horsemen. No,
it's a J Dilon and I got, you know. And
that's the thing, right, I mean, just for a second,
because we're gonna say great things about Jackson Dart and
Cam Scattaboo. It's just I see this, and I see

(11:23):
the excitement, and I see the charts going crazy wear it,
and I just go, why can't the Jets get anything?

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Right?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
You know what, It's never too late to switch you, Lawrence.
I could have I could have got. I could have
picked the Giants when I was a kid. I mean,
I go back like I've got Okay, so worst decisions
of my life? Okay, so so ty Shirt right there,
bad decisions picking the Giants, Picking the Jets and the
Mets over the Giants and the Yankees. Yeah, probably bad idea,
bad idea. But I mean, but you wanted to stand out.

(11:50):
Bad idea, right, I guarantee you. As a kid, it
was the I'm the different one, look at me, look
at me, and then they sucked no, no, no, Then you
realized you were gonna wear it. Here's the easy part.
The easy. That's smart for the Mets. It was pretty easy.
Like in the early was in the early Yeah, in
the early seventies, the Yankees black and white uniforms and
I love baseball, love watch, but I played baseball. I'm

(12:11):
four years old. And the Mets just had these blue
and orange uniforms and orange, gotcha right, they looked so
good on TV. I didn't care if they won or lost.
I just cared they did something to get it. I
know you've never eaten that orange was orange of a
bad cheddar cheese or just seeing them, just seeing the
orange and blue uniforms, and it was much easier to

(12:31):
get craft macaroni and cheese. Yeah, but that's that. That's
not Mets orange. Though, that's not Mets orange. So so
there's that. I'm like, okay, so I get it, and
that's what and I look at it. I didn't care
that they want to lost, like, hey, I get to
see them playing together on the field. I didn't care.
So the Phillies got five hits in a row, I
don't care. Okay, oh but look the Mets got a
hitting that ning. Hey, that's great, right, I didn't care

(12:52):
eight to one. I got to see them score the
one run. Yeah, awesome. The Jets is different because the
Jets was like everybody in my family, which Giants fans
name my entire family, and it wasn't like like they
were all like I didn't get along. I love my uncles,
they're all Giants. And my uncle Pete, who I text
like once every two years, this big teat. He's blowing
up my phone with Jackson Dart stuff the last the

(13:13):
last week and a half, and all of a sudden, Hey,
I gotta hit Jason up on this because the Jets
suck and the Giants are so good, right, Like I
I still don't know why I picked the Jet because
the Jets and Giants were both bad around the same time.
It didn't matter. But I think because I live with
my grandparents and my grandfather was a Jets fan, so
I just became a Jets fan and I was like, hey,

(13:34):
and I think the Jets actually played in the playoffs
before eighty two AFC Championship. I still can't talk about,
but I've had time to get over. But they went
to the playoffs first, so I think that's what it
was like. Oh, Jets went to the playoffs first because
the Giants were like the mid seventies, the Jets and
Giants were absolutely terrible, right, but the Jets went so

(13:55):
I'm like, okay, yeah, Jets, Jet Jets, That's my team.
And and and then that's where I got blue and
orange took over your life. And now I gotta watch. Now,
I gotta watch Darton Scataboo dancing. Hey, look at Lins.
It's so fun. They're fun, though. Yeah, I hate that
they're fun. I hate that they're fun. Why do you
hate fun because I hate the fun That the Giants
figured it out. I hate that they just figured it
out today against Philadelphia Giants. Terrible day in Philadelpia. Giants

(14:17):
kneeling on the foot. Yeah it is yeah day in Philadelphia.
Flyers loss too. Giants kneeling on the ball. Right now,
they're gonna win this thirty four to seventeen. Alex Tysher
is the big winner. We have more on this game,
plus all the big questions we have to ask and
answer about the dodgers incredible win over the Cubs. We

going off the air on Amazon right now. After a
Giants dominant win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Right now, there's
at least a few people go, wait, you meant Eagles,
but no, No Giants thirty four seventeen over the Eagles.

(16:05):
Jackson Dart and Cam Skataboo have provided New York with
not just a lift talent wise, but off the field wise.
The fan base is going crazy. You can see how
they have been able to take what they found in
the draft this year with both these guys, and it's
become electric. And we talked about this earlier in the show,

(16:28):
is that the Giants they need to figure out who
they are, who are we as an organization? And with
Dart and Scataboo, there you go. And they were able
to reclaim New York, New York after Toronto co.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Opted it last night.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Yeah, joining us now the hot line to break it
all down, no body better NFL on Fox Insider Extraordinary,
Jay Glazer, Jay, what's happening man? Happy Thursday?

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Oh, happy Thursday of you guys? Wow, what a day?
What a you know, what a night for Giant fans.
Obviously they finally, you know, have some sort of direction
for a character of a team. You know, it's instead
I've been looking for for an identity, and these two
rookies are giving them an identity. It's just interesting because

(17:12):
they've had some horse non defense, really good at works
on defense. They've had some players, but it's not like
it almost like until these two guys got in and
started playing the way they have, where everybody else started
giving a little lex to own for a little extramoxy,
little lecture of the business, if you will, and then
as long as they can. The only thing I was

(17:33):
looking at, I'm like, man, they gotta they're gonna get
Jackson dark Child. Yes, right like dang quinch is that
it talked last week with Jade Daniels, like, hey, we
need We're not gonna have any limitations on you with
a game, but we want you to limit yourself if you,
you know, are looking at second and six or you
even get beat up for two extra yards, We're good

(17:54):
with second and six. And they're gonna have to do
that with Jackson Dart eventually. Right now, it's just like,
all right, let them continue to build up this character,
this team. But man Ken'scattabury, he that stood a difference maker,
and sometimes it's all you need. You need one or
two guys to change the way things are viewed from
the inside out.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
You know, Jay, when when you look back at this
and you see the Giants and and you know, making
this movement and getting Jackson Dart, there were a lot
of different ways teams could have gone quarterback wise in
the draft. Did teams just miss on Dart? Like what
what was it with Darts? Because here he is. He
thought of it, and the Giants like, hey, hey, now
he's our Now he's our franchise.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
So going into the draft, they actually had intended to
trade back up in the first round. A lot of
times in the draft they'll go, okay, well, you know
if this guy falls, with that guy falls. They actually
went into the draft saying, we're going to take out
Bill Carter three. If Jackson's Art is still there around
fifteen or twenty, we're gonna start calling. And they started

(18:53):
calling maybe Denver were they are twenty or twenty one, whatever,
They started calling about twenty to try to move up.
They finally, you know, they're able to you know, maybe
it was a little bit earlier than that, but they
actually have that game plan going into the draft. So
it's not like people missed. Not a lot of teams
needed quarterbacks, and people are kind of all over the
map with these guys. Look, one guy may fit one

(19:15):
culture or team that might not fit another, you know,
but they love the guy. So that was their intention
going in. I know a lot of people go, oh,
they're gonna have Shador Sanders. It was always Jackson guard
And it was interesting a couple of weeks ago when
they put him in against the Chargers. I'm like, why
are you going against Why putting them in now against
the Chargers instead of next week against Saints. And I
was told by people who giants, you want to do

(19:36):
that with him. He wants to be challenged. You want
to challenge him because you're going to get the best
for him. That's he going to see. And that man
that says an awful lot about that about him, you know.
And you know, they kind of compared it to to
Herbert when Herbert first went in, and Herbert's first game
was against Chiefs in like twenty seconds right when when

(19:58):
Tyrod Taylor got the jail that ended up puncture his law,
And they're like, yeah, this guy just never looked back
and they thought the same thing with Jackson Dart of
hey put him in against the most adverse conditions. We said,
we're gonna be the best out of them, and they did.
And the two games that you know he had, let's
see an uphill battle in Phenomenal, the game where they

(20:20):
played the same almost played down.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Yeah, curious and the way that flows all right for campscattaboy,
he's got to stop doing those celebrations because that's a
hamstring waiting to happen. But we all need to find
someone who loves us like Brian Dabele did. When Jackson
Dart went into the tent, we watched him intently. Jay,
he needed every update possible as to his young quarterback.
So we need that in our lives.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Yeah no, But again, I think these two guys, their relationship,
you can see it. It's like they're injecting this young
life from that team. That's they needed. And if you
look now, you look at some of the people they
have on that team. Defensively, they've got a great up right,
they got good live barks. I need some help in
the secondary, but man, they really have some good talent

(21:06):
over there. They actually have talent on offensive line, they
just haven't been able to ever stay healthy. They find
a tight end and Theo Johnson, who is I spent
some talents field and he is man. He's second guy
from nineteen ninety three. He's not like a young player.
He's a throwback kind of guy. So all of a sudden,
they're finding these guys. And I think if Jackson and

(21:27):
Cam scattab who can continue to rub off on everybody else,
You'll start to see the natural talent of other people
in that locker room start to come out.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Jay Glazer with us, Jason Smith, Mike Harmon Live from
the Fox Sports Radio Studios, Flip side of it now, Jay,
I don't think a lot of people saw this coming
for the Eagles. You thought, Okay, here's a get right
week for them after blowing the lead to the Broncos
on Sunday. What's the level of problems the Eagles have
right now?

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Jay?

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Is it something that hey, we can get in there,
we can fix this, or hey, is it getting big?
You're and bigger as the season goes on.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
I think every time of the Eagles is big. You
know they they they have a bunch of huge personalities
and you know, obviously you see a class and this
and that. I think that's why Nick Churroanni is an
underrated coach because he got a bunch of crazies in
there and he actually keeps them together, right, a phenomenal
job with that. They got big personalities over there and
they keep it together. But when their things aren't going

(22:23):
really well, that's when you see, you know, the sky's
falling and you start to see issues and the hits,
your personal problems and one that I think right now,
you know, they got to say hey, right now when
we need to keep it together. I don't know if
the table of that you got to see, that's what
they need right now. They need to say this when
we have to keep it together. But to even go
back to the first week of the season, the cd

(22:44):
Land doesn't drop a bunch of passes, you know, Eagles
and then the Rams also if they're if they're kicking
game could do anything. That's two potential losses right there.
But I think the Eagles may be falling. They could
be falling the same track of a lot of teams
over the years. All right, whenever they win the Shop Bowl.

(23:06):
It's so hard to repeat because people in that locker room, coaches,
the players, everybody. So, oh, I'm the reason. I'm the
reason we won. I'm the reason. And it's so hard
to repeat become that. It's like you're you know. I've
heard fighters always say, Man, it's it's hard to fight
for a title when your belly's full, really, when you're hungry,

(23:28):
you know. And it's the same thing here, Ben, you
have a everybody's kind of came in with the belly
foll They're almost expecting to walk through people again. And
now they've had adversity and the fracture and instead of
the fractor, but the university. That's what you got to do.
You gotta come together. Adversity is a gift if he's
used the right way.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Jay, we saw a couple of moves in the NFL
this week. We got the Flacco trade and then we
saw Newsom get delt to Jacksonville. Is just the beginning
of a landslide of a bunch of moves here behead
of the deadline.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
I don't know last slide. If you will, I think you'll.
I think teams are gonna get very aggressive because of
what the Eagles has done. Eagles went out and made
a bunch of trainings one on. I think that you know,
it's become more and more like that the last couple
of years where it used to be team didn't want
to part ways with draft capital, and I think they're

(24:23):
more willing to now because the landscape of college kids
is totally different. You know, these college kids now they
can move anywhere because the transfer portal, you can't really
ask them anything anymore in your interviews. You don't know
them as much. I've think there's more questions now. You
have a lot more kids who don't love football than
you did in the past. Again I talked about Billy full.

(24:47):
A lot more kids who are not as hungry because
they've already been paid, and I think the draft capital
isn't as valuable. Listen, I'm sure people hear it. Go
are you crazy? But no, I I think teams now
looking okay if I can get a sure thing, as
opposed to there are more questions where kids are coming
out and now there ever have been. I think teams

(25:09):
are a little bit more willing to to try and swing,
swing away and work for trades.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Yeah, you keep saying belly full, Jay, maybe you want
to order pizza. I'm hunger.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
Hey, life is great when your belly fold. You've got
a title part to repeat, it's part of repeat. It's
hard to repeat. I think. I think Mike titles will.
I heard that from It was greatly okay.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Yeah, hey, speaking of motivation, you got a bit on Twitter,
big mental health motivation about being your own hero. To
tell us about that.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Yeah, yeah, look, it's it's something obviously. You know, we
did a mental health podcast mental Wealth podcast here in
Fox Sports Radio, and iHeart and I want to continue it,
not just because Friday is World Mental Health Today, but
it's something I learned in Thailand. I joke around saying, yeah,
I've met with this time Monk helped me because I
went through all the therapists in America, So how to

(26:02):
go to Thailand?

Speaker 1 (26:05):
That was your second choice?

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Okay, you know you got to know a couple of
years ago one of this like my body spirituary and
man this this this time Monk asked me to describe
myself and guys the way I describe myself as really
nobody should ever talk about themselves that way. But by
depressing anxiety told me that I'm worthless and I'm a
piece of garbage and all these things. I'm a terrible person.

(26:27):
And he said, James, instead of talking about yourself, because
I just took so much pressure myself. Guys, and I
do one little thing. I just I live. There's a
lot of shame when you when you're deal with these
mettal health issues. So he said, instead of talking about
yourself that way, why don't you describe yourself as your
own hero? I said, your own hero? Head? Do I
want you to be your own heroes? What are you

(26:47):
talking about? It's all right? Well, Jay, have you would
you say you've overcome a lot in your life? I
said absolutely? Would you say you've endored a lot? I said,
you're out yep, I laughed it it. He said, would
you say you've achieved a lot? I said absolutely, mister monk,
no doubt. So they said, okay, well some guy came
into your life and got you to overcome all this,

(27:10):
endure all that, and achieve all this. Wouldn't that guy
be your hero? I said, yeah, absolutely. He said, Hey,
that's you. You're the one who did it. You just
can't see it, but that's you. So that guy you
wanted to call your own hero? You are your own hero,
and man, it smacked me across the eyes and I realized,
there's a lot of us who beat up on ourselves,

(27:31):
a lot of us put so much press on ourselves,
a lot of us but just don't give ourselves grace.
And that one little shift of him telling me that
got me to be able to lay my head on
my pillow at night more often than I ever did,
being able to give myself some grace and plug myself
up a little bit. So I wanted to just pass
it on to everybody else. And it's every single one

(27:54):
of us got a hero inside of us.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
It's an awesome story. You can see it on Jay's
Twitter page right there at the top, right there. Mental
health motivation, be your own hero. And Uh, I'm gonna
go get mister Monk's information from you so when I
go there, I can talk to him no doubt.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Man's man, my jam baby, it's my damn. I train
moy time in the jungle, I do breath Brooks meditation.
My wife comes to me, she's crying, and motivation in
breath work is amazing.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Keep up the good fight, buddy. We'll talk to you
next week. Thanks so much.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
As Hey, Hey, I think the Eagles may need my
time on Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Yeah, you know, fly that monk in for them. See
what happened? Lessons learn? There you go. Ah, thanks Jay,
There goes Jay Glazer the best, great stuff as always.
You know, you think about his point about the Eagles
locker room. You have a lot of alphas, You have
a lot of big personalities, and when you have that,
it's a little more difficult to figure out when you

(28:50):
think about compare it to the team like the Giants,
where it's like, hey, these new personalities can rub off
on everybody, right with Dart and Scataboo, Hey they're new,
they're here. Dable is able to go from the old
era of the Giants to the new one that looks
like he's probably gonna keep his job, I would say,
right now, looks for the moment. Yeah, But when you
get to the point where the players become so much

(29:11):
of the story, and so much of the story every
week is here's Jalen Hurts and how what is his
relationship like with his wide receivers and his wide receivers,
how happy are they? And when that when when the
when the person has what's happening? When that becomes an
overwhelming story that does become a really difficult thing to
get past because you're fighting past that before you even

(29:32):
get on the field for practice or a game. Well, no,
but that's it, right. It's the different stages of team
building and where you're at in your time continuing. For
guys like Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, et cetera, they've got
the team accomplishment, you've got a title that's in the
back pocket, and now people start doing you hear the
outside noise might be within your inner circle, might be
your family might just be loud mouths like us of

(29:54):
trying to rank guys. Right, where's Jalen Hurts? Well, there
was a lot of noise of whether he's that guy
or what he carried? AJ Brown? Is he easy the
true alpha receiver? Is he again part of this other
machine and he gets helped out all of that. So
you want to be you want to prove that you
are that guy. Whereas with the young kids, they don't.

(30:15):
It's like Roki Sasaki coming in for the Dodgers. Now
he don't know what he don't know. At this point
three in he's still coming in. It's like, all right,
go get it. For these guys, it's still establishing a
winning culture. And for Brian Dable trying to save his job.
And again Jay Glazer, this is the only show you're
gonna get Jay on, the only show he Tom comes on.
He talks to us every week. If you missed it,

(30:37):
check it out on our best of podcast gets posted
wherever you get your podcast from. Right after the show
is over. You know you should get a little bit
more of it later on in the show. But again,
only here with Jay Glazer with us on Fox Sports Radio,
time out to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports from someone who's been called the AJ
Brown of Fox Sports Radio. You'll walk by and see

(30:58):
her reading a book once in a while.

Speaker 5 (30:59):
It's that's not true. I don't read. That's not true. Actually,
I just read Eleven Rings, Phil Jackson book. I'm late
to the game, but I just read it. I really
liked it thoroughly.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Like can I put it down?

Speaker 6 (31:16):
I know, I know, but I really I don't.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
Read a lot like I wish I did do put
more of my spare time into reading. But I tend
to like start a book and then I don't finish it.
I'm that person. But I did finish and I really
enjoyed it. But it's just, you know, that was more
of a like I wanted just to know more details
of that time, because you know, I was so young,
and so I wanted to like remember what I or

(31:38):
add to what I remembered of that time.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
You know, seven rings in the background.

Speaker 6 (31:43):
I did not.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
I did not, but I do like seven rings. That
is on my playlist. Nicely done. We'll start with the
baseball game, still going on, Game four of the NLDS
and it's all Cubs so far. Kyle Tucker and Carson
Kelly both homeward in the seventh inning.

Speaker 6 (31:58):
I think they were reviewing the Carson kell home.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
Run and maybe they took it down, But right now
it looks like the Cubs are up five to zero
against the Brewers. It is the bottom of the seventh
inning and if the Cubs win, they'll fail.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
They will force a Game five.

Speaker 5 (32:13):
Winner of this series is gonna face the Dodgers in
the Championship Series. They survived, I'm not gonna say walk
that off. They survived on an error from Philly's pitcher
Ryan Kirkering in the eleventh inning to advance to the
Championship Series. With the bases loaded, Andy Pahez hit a
ball right back to Kirkering. He mishandled it. Instead of
throwing it to first base, he overthrew the ball to home.

(32:34):
Haysan Kim scored the winning run. With the winning run,
it was the first postseason series in history to end
on a walk off error in the front to what
was the final score in eleven innings. When it comes
to the NFL, the Giants defeated the Eagles thirty four
to seventeen to kick offf Week six. Jackson Dart threw

(32:54):
for one hundred and ninety five yards and a touchdown.
He also had thirteen carries for fifty eight yards and
a touchdown. Cam Yataboo with a hat trick nineteen carries
for ninety eight yards and three touchdowns. It was a
rough second half for the Eagles as Philadelphia was shut
out Jalen Hurts through an interception, agent aj Dillon lost
to fumble.

Speaker 6 (33:12):
Just a bad second half of Philadelphia.

Speaker 5 (33:13):
Hurts ended twenty four of thirty three, two hundred and
eighty three yards, a touchdown, and an interception on the ice.
Couple games still going on. Avalanche over Mammoth two to
one late in the third period, down to the final
three minutes, connects Our Flames one zero halfway through the
second period. Late in the second period, the Golden Knights
and the Sharks are tied at to a piece, and
the krake In are edging the Ducks two to one,

(33:34):
also late in the second period. Back to you, guys,
thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Yes, The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon, Lott and
the Fox Sports Radio Studios coming up. We have to
ask a couple of big questions about what we saw
at the end of the Dodgers Phillies game. All the drama,
the walk off error that we're still talking about. That's
next right here. It's a full service Thursday, Jason.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith's
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon
Thursday Night. Drama sports fans are happy everywhere but the
city of Philadelphia. It's a world of hurt right now.
Surrounding counties. Bucks County is not happy. Most of Delaware.
Early polling says they reject the referendum. Oh, you know,

(34:29):
I'm not surprised he lost the Dodgers, but I can't
believe you lost the Giants. You're terrible. I don't know
how that happened. I really don't. I don't know. This
is bad. It's all bad. And sports Flyers didn't even win.
This is bad. Two to one. Panthers taken down here
early NHL season, but a couple of big questions coming
off of the dodgers incredible two to one win over

(34:52):
the Phillies. Dodgers go on to the NLCS. The Phillies
go home after Orion Kirkering's error in the eleventh inning
when he throws home on a ground back to him
with the bases loaded, he throws wide of home plate,
Kim Scamper's home with the game winning run and the
Dodgers winning covered up again. I feel like we're gonna

(35:12):
talk about the entire playoffs, covering up that Dave Roberts
and all his subterfuge trying to make the Dodgers lose. Okay,
Like you know, we talked about the the bullpen situation
in the in the ninth inning of Game two, where
he nearly gave the game away by not going right
to Rokie Sasaki. Right, what is Dave Roberts doing tonight

(35:34):
almost giving the game away? You had a great six
innings by Tyler Glassnow, he was great, he was dealing.
Look at Christopher Sanchez is dealing to This is a
great no trade throwback playoff playoff game. But Glass now
at eighty three pitches he started all year, he's fine,
he's rolling. You don't want to go to the bullpen
unless you have to, because the only guy you can

(35:55):
trust is Rokie Sasaki. That's it, he is the only one.
If you can go from starting pitcher to Rokie Sasaki
every night, I feel good for the Dodgers if you
have to, you know, fill the middle of that peanut
butter sandwich with like fluffer, nutter and jelly, and you
gotta throw relievers and that's not gonna work. Well, I mean,
you need to really have a big lead or just
a lot of extra junk sitting on the table that

(36:16):
you can fire in between those pieces of bread. But
after the sixth inning, you take Glass now out after
eighty three pitches when I'm sorry, but I think you
can put him out there again to see if he
can give you one more inning. I know that his
pitch count, you don't want to have it get too
high because you know he hasn't put the the the
the workable stress on his arm all season, the build

(36:38):
up on his arm all season, right, not pitching, not
not pitching as much as you would have liked him to.
But it's the playoffs. Now his arms got a little
bit of life to it. He could probably go one
more get him to the seventh inning. That could get
you to Sasaki instead. And instead, not only that, only
do you say no, we're going to the bullpen and
the seventh inning, but you bring in Emmit Sheen, who's
er in the playoffs is like eleven, right, he had

(36:59):
a good September. But man, this is every time you've
brought him in he is allowed runs. And this is
the guy you go to again. It's not like there
where is any other place you could go unless you
want to go to Sasaki in the seventh inning. But
like you go to im MITCHI, Okay, guess what, He's
probably gonna give up runs. And what happens right away?
Im Mitchian gets up runn he gets hit hard, He

(37:19):
makes an error on a double play ball to first
base and the Dodgers are losing one, nothing and all.
Dave Roberts decides, Yes, I'm gonna take out a starting
pitcher that I don't need to take out because he's
still rolling, right, He's still rolling here. But no, I'm
gonna do it, and I'm almost gonna cost us the game,
but the Dodgers come from behind and win. He gets
bailed out, just like get bailed out in Game two.
I feel like this is the entire playoffs. Like Dave

(37:41):
Roberts is getting bailed out. He's not the only manager
in baseball. I feel like lots of managers are getting
bailed out making ridiculous decisions on bunting and pitching changes.
But hey, we hit a home run or we get
a big play and we win the game and nobody
talks about it. But wow, like, right, is Roberts working
for or against the Dodgers?

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (37:57):
I mean we talk about all the different convergence of
circumstance and just chaos. I mean, how about the story
that comes out today about Tanner Scott Right, not that
you're necesarily gonna trust him, and I hope he's okay,
but all of a sudden a medical emergency, and he
wasn't with you just before the game yesterday, but too
late for them to be able to make a roster move.

(38:18):
They were able to do it today. But it's also,
you know, a subplot going on in the background in
terms of who's actually available to pitch, right, because we
had a lot of questions when Kershaw came back out
after a shaky seventh to try to go to the
eighth and then gives up a home run and then
there's still no activity. But today, same idea, and she
and would have been I guess the obvious guy yesterday.

(38:41):
So he gets there today and eventually it comes Hey,
I know there's an obvious guy out of the dodgerball. No, no, no,
but there's an obvious guy.

Speaker 6 (38:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
It's like I can pick from all of these things
that could kill me, all right greatly, Well, what's gonna
what's the least painful outside of Sasaki? Who is the
only look that's just it? Thirty six pitches, three innings. Uh,
And he was fantastic once again again. He got too
young to know what he doesn't know. I mean, it's

(39:15):
this is supposed to be pressure. He goes out there.
He's free and easy for three innings, like you got
one more in you? You think you can give me
one more?

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (39:23):
But yeah, go glass now to Shean gives an inning
two hits. This the urn run, Sosaka comes in and
then eventually you get to Vessia who has who you?
You rode the lightning with him right because he walked
Bryce Harper with two outs and he throws a wild
pitch and now you're worried about trying to get somebody
out with the tying run at second. Like every that's

(39:44):
why I say the Dodger bullpen. Every night they have
something to say about our team winning. Hey, you think
it interesting, let me out, let me out. Trust me.
I'm not gonna not gonna do what you think I'm
gonna do. I'm not gonna help things like the Dodger
bullpen is having a huge say on the play. And
so far Dave Roberts has been able to escape and

(40:05):
it's and it's insane that he's been able to escape.
But at some point these decisions are gonna come back
and bite the dog. But you thought that was gonna
happen last year with all the different a he's going
to the Bullpennyyah. Then he had it well. Last year
he had a bullpen. He was able to go to
a lot of guys. But it's still like the old
rule of thumb. You go to the bullpen that often,
eventually you're gonna find the wrong guy. Last year he didn't.

(40:26):
It's the same thing as last year, except this year
the guys he goes to were bad. Like last year,
the guys he went to were good. This year was
everybody's bad. Yeah. I love the shot of him in
the dugout as that winning run score. I don't have
to pitch at twelfth due I don't have to decide
who goes out there. I need to do the press
conference after. I really want to talk to anybody, but
we want hey. Coming up next, we break down the

(40:46):
final fateful play, the play of the year in Major
League Baseball without a doubt. This is Fox Sports Radio.
