Smith Show and subscribe. Mike and I love putting this
content out for you every single night. So mar Key,
Game of the night in the six and a half
to go in the second quarter, it is the Spurs
with a forty three to forty lead over the Lakers.
So far wemby six points, three rebounds and assists in
a block. Kind of a generic night for Wemby, Like,
(01:13):
that's it. Just at one block? Wait, DeAndre eight and
look a little silly, Come on, man, that's it. That's
it now. Meanwhile, you want to talk about what Luca
has done tonight for the Lakers in thirteen minutes, Okay,
think about this. In thirteen minutes, thirteen points, six rebounds,
five assists, three steals, and two blocks. You talk about
(01:36):
a guy, though we know about Wemby doing everything. This
is it? In thirteen minutes thirteen points, six rebounds, five assists,
three steals, two blocks, also three fouls. But he's doing everything,
absolutely everything for the Lakers tonight. Now. I know we
talked last hour about this matchup and Wenby being the
best player in the league and where Lebron fits when
(01:58):
he comes back off of injury. But you want a
different conversation I think we're gonna have over the course
of this season. Who's the MVP in the NBA this year?
Is it Wemby or Luca? Because as great a years,
Wemby's at right, look Wenby all around player Wenby does defensively,
how much he alters the game? Yeah, Wemby's a better
player than Luca offensively. What Luca can do. And as
(02:20):
far as lifting the Lakers to where he's at right now,
like that's gonna be the big debate, Like we're all
the way through the air. Look, you got great players
in the Eastern Conference, but really, what's Jalen Brunson gonna
do that's gonna make him the MVP? Right? Is Josh
Giddy gonna really have numbers? People are gonna say, oh,
this guy's the MVP, right is Tyres MAXI you know,
I'm sure he'll get a little bit of run if
(02:40):
stually scores thirty five a game, But in the end,
it's it's gonna be Hey, wait a minute. Wenby does
something every night that makes your jaw drop, and Luca
just continues to show you I have another level to
get to now that I'm rededicated, I'm thinner, my body
is better. Look out look how much he's hitting the
ground running this year. I mean, look, forty point games
start the season, fifteen point rebound games, a fifteen rebound
(03:01):
game start the season, like Wemby Luca for MVP. I
think is gonna be the big through topic all the
way through the season. Yeah, I mean a lot of
it's gonna be the defensive metrics, So it's good to
get a couple of those blocks in. He's four of
twelve from the field as we're midway through the second
tied here, it's a it's a five man race when
it's all said and done, right, because you got those
two guys Sga, jokicch and Yannis and then it's a
(03:25):
drop off to Tyrese Maxie and forty to one. Well
look at this way, okay, because Yo kich is always
gonna he'll get back in it. But for but think
about think about those three guys for a second. Can
Sga really do something bigger than he did last year
that's gonna say he's the MVP again? Right? Is that
is it kind of really happen? Can Yannis do something
that really tells you, hey, he's the MVP? And that's
(03:48):
the unfortunate part in these conversations, right, is that we
just assume away Sga, jokicch and Yannis as like, all right,
what other stories do we have that breakthrough? Right? And
that's the unfortunate part of these awards at times, like
all right, just because the guy's great doesn't mean that
he should just be categorically dismissed. But we did it
(04:10):
with Kobe, we did it with Jordan, we did it
with Shack. I mean, Lebron certainly probably should have a
little more hardware up on his mantle as well. But yeah,
I think your point is very, very true here, particularly
if when Mignyama is able to stay healthy and play
the requisite sixty five plus games, right, because that was
the one question right you asked rhetorically as we got
(04:32):
things started, how you could you not talk about spurs
like well, because you have a giant question mark about
what he's going to be able to do over the
course of a season, because it's not like he missed
time because of an ankle injury or a hamstring strain
like this was something pot hey, you know, to to
where you know, you have those questions about, you know,
the comeback and what he's able to do, so you know,
(04:54):
proof of concept at least for the first couple of weeks,
and wish him great health because we all win and
certainly the game gets another huge superstar. But that's why
the odds were what they are as you try to
traverse through a difficult Western conference. But he versus Luca.
If we get sixty five plus games of a regular season,
(05:15):
which we're already lamenting guys sitting their asses out four
quote rast purposes, and Lucas already had to miss a
couple of games for injuries, so you know, we we
have to we have to make sure we recognize that
in the process as well. Midway point of the season,
Adam Silver announces for the MVP Award, you just have
to play in half the games. Everything else is saying,
(05:35):
but MVP just half the game. We really, uh, ask
too much for sixty five out of eighty two because really, honestly,
sixty five that's how bad a shape the NBA is
in right now with load maintenance and playing games, where
sixty five out of eighty two, I would say, yeah,
there might be too much, but even you remember Embiid
and other guys were complaining that they had to get
(05:55):
to this magical threshold. Now that's that's that's asking much.
Oh yeah, yeah, showing up for sixty five. Man should
not he's selling but you're just getting a minute. But
it is. It shouldn't be. But it is too much.
It's too much saying fifty a lot of games. But
that's also the player you want to be trying to
get to sixty five games. Now, come on, man, But
(06:16):
that's that's the Players Association saying the quiet part out loud,
like it really shouldn't be playing eighty two games, but
damned if we're giving the money back. Yeah, not doing it.
Uh So we'll have more on this game coming up again. Spurs, Lakers,
Wemby and Luca forty seven to forty six. Lakers have
taken the lead on a Doncage jumper. He now has
fifteen four and a half to go before halftime. I
(06:37):
want to put one more punctuation mark on this MVP conversation,
Steph Curry one hundred and fifty to one. Yeah, showing
showing you where we're at. Man, I didn't think the continuum.
It's a one man race, No, dude, everybody looks a
one man race. If Luca's on the court, he's the MVPA.
Everybody loves what did Wemby's great? Wemby is good, can
be great. He's not the mv That's going to be
(06:58):
the debate Wemby and Luke. Not really a debate though,
sure it is. Luca plays like this, He's the MVP. Okay, Yeah,
if Luca plays like this and Wenby gives you six
and three, Okay, I'll tell you Luca's the heavy, but
Wenby doesn't do that. Wemby's gonna wow Webby's at thirty three, fifteen,
twelve and nine. That's a pretty big game for Wemby.
But I'll tell you Wemby Luca, that's gonna be a
(07:18):
great debate. Both guys now saddled with three Foulso don't
you know, no one tunes in to see you blowing?
What's so to keep these guys on the court? That
hains we get more Bronnie James already five minutes two points.
He did miss a shot which would have given Luca
another assist. Great dish on the drive and Bronny decided
to step forward and then he missed what was a
(07:40):
pretty easy shot from the baseline. So more NBA on
the way. We got Rick Bucher coming up next hour
on the show. But the big debate the last thirty
six hours, as that goes from the top of sports
all the way down to fans watching, is the Disney
ESPN YouTube conundrum and stalemate. Right, Like, I don't know
(08:05):
what gets solved first, do we open the government after
the shutdown, or does ESPN and YouTube wind up getting solved? Right? Like,
I don't see an end to either of these things, right.
And there's so many people that have weighed in now
at the ESPN YouTube thing, and we want to talk
about greedy networks and greedy executives and top to bottom,
top to bottom, there's so many different things. But I'm
(08:26):
going to cut through and tell you the biggest thing
to know about this and the biggest, the biggest thing
that ESPN needs to be scared about, right. Forget about
this fact we're worrying about. Oh, it's about carriage and
fees and this is what ESPN wants to charge and
this is it. The bottom line is people are consuming
sports and television much different. We know this. There's different
(08:48):
ways we've done. It's not the same thing as even
was five years ago. And we said it's different now
than it was five years before that ESPN not being
and YouTube not having their agreement and people not being
able to get ESPN on YouTube. That's the thing, right,
And you can argue about what the domino effect on
(09:08):
this is, but I'm gonna tell you the biggest thing
for this is that ESPN, And I'm giving advice to ESPN.
Don't underestimate the impact of people not having your product,
because ESPN people are gonna find out if they don't
have it for a little while. I don't need to
(09:29):
pay money for it. I can get along without it
because as a sports fan, I can get sports wherever
I want to. I can get sports from Fox, I
can get sports from CBS, I get all the cable
channels I can get sports from. I am not underserved
for sports. What do you want ESPN for it? Do
you want ESPN for games? Right? That's you want live
games one hundred percent? Right, that's you want ESPN four
(09:51):
When ESPN you want Monday night football? You want a
bunch of different things. Well, when you show somebody that
they can get along without you for a while, no
one's gonna come back and say, hey, I want to
get back together with you. The longer this goes on,
the more the average fan says, you know, I'd love
to watch ESPN college football Saturday. But if I don't
(10:13):
get to watch Vanderbilt and Tennessee, I'll watch Oregon and
Washington right if I don't. If I don't get to
watch Alabama, and Missouri. Well, I'll watch Michigan and Nebraska
because I can get that on Fox. Or I'll watch
my game on CBS, or I'll watch I'll watch the
game on NBC. I'll watch Notre Dame in Navy at
(10:36):
four thirty, and I'll just get the highlights of these
other games. So just to take to where we're at
right now, you're looking at where we're at going into
this weekend. No one's gonna say I got to have
ESPN for college football, right, I mean, they lose like
five million every day off of YouTube. Five million every
day off of YouTube. Man, that's that's not insignificant. And
(10:57):
so when you get to Monday night football, Okay, if
I really want to watch the game, I'll go out
to a bar and watch. I'll go someplace that has it.
But if I don't get to watch Jaguars Broncos, I
don't really need to sit in front and see it. Now,
if it's Cowboys and the forty nine Ers, or it's
the Steelers and the Bills, well okay, well I'll find
(11:20):
a way to watch it. My friend has it, I'll
go over watch a game at his house. I'll go
to a bar and watch it. But I don't need
to pay money for ESPN anymore. The longer this goes on,
that's who it's worse for, because they keep thinking this
old way of what we're doing and the rights we paid.
Eventually you get a little bit too big, and when
you let people know they can get along without you,
they don't come back. People aren't gonna say, oh my god,
(11:43):
I gotta have ESPN. After a couple of weeks, it's
going to be I've been okay without ESPN. I've still
gotten all the fun, I've gotten all my football on Sunday,
I get everything I want on Sunday. I can stream
the games. On Thursday, I don't want to stream, I'll
watch a game on Amazon. But am I really missing No?
If I really want to go see that game, I
will find a way to do it. I'm not gonna
blanketly pay for stuff when I realize I don't miss it.
(12:05):
In the old days, if you didn't have ESPN, well
what were you getting? You weren't getting a ton. But
now the last twenty years has brought you an incredibly
diverse world of sports outside of Bristol, Connecticut, where not
only just we used to say that for working. Hey,
you don't feel like you have to work at ESPN.
You can work a lot of places and have great lives.
But you can get Big ten network and watch whatever
(12:26):
you want. You get your fill of college football, you
get your NFL on Sunday, you watch your NBA during
the week, right, Okay. If I don't get to watch
seventy six or Celtics on ESPN, that's okay. I'll watch
Blazers and the Lakers on NBA TV. I'll still watch
some kind of I'll still watch some kind of basketball
I want. It's not a matchup I absolutely need. And
if I need that, I can do a special thing
(12:47):
for it once. But if not, I can get along
well without it. That's the danger for ESPN is because
the more time that goes on to say, yeah, I
don't really need that. Okay, all right, hey, thanks for
letting me know that. I'm glad you that carriage dispute
now I don't need worry about anymore. Yeah, I appreciate.
They had one voice of reason who's usually the loudest
of them all. He came out and said, you're all
(13:08):
a bunch of dopes, And I agree with him. Shout
out very briefly to the Pat McAfee, saying, how disingenuous
it is. You're crying about the YouTube TV. Oh yeah,
go buy our thirty dollars a month app to watch
all of ESPN. Okay, wait, wait, wait, hold on, do
you want me over here? Do you want me to hear?
Because now you're asking me to double dip. You had
the ESPN Plus package. If you love college sports and
(13:31):
some of the ancillary stuff you've got that you can
get parts of it off your Disney Plus subscription. I mean,
it's all over the place. The carriage rate, the last
estimate I saw was about ten bucks a month out
of your bill in twenty twenty three. I remember subscribing
to YouTube TV when it first started. It was thirty
five dollars a month. It is now eighty four, and
(13:53):
part of that was the ten plus or whatever. The
next iteration of ESPN is to your point, you can
get it all over the place. Right we were watching
the NBA last night? What was that on? That was
on Peacock. Okay, so it's already fractured, and we talk
about the oversaturation, the glut of programming. Folks are going
to find other things to do with their lives. We
(14:15):
love sports. We consume it as best we can from
every angle. Right as we're here in the Fox Sports
Radio studios. From our respective homes, we have some more
subscriptions than we know what to do with to juggle
them as you would practicing for a soccer game, as
I get played off by the music, but the idea
of being that you want to resolve it, suck it up,
(14:38):
or stop the disingenuous nature by then telling me to
pay you thirty dollars a month for your other product exclusively.
Exit out about a Fresco exit swellowing down big as,
don't let people know they can get along without you.
Oh okay, oh I really don't need to come back.
That's how are they going to get by without Lakers Wenby?
They can't watch that tonight, they can't. I mean to
be well, it's a highlight league, though the NBA's on
(15:01):
hotlight League of holes and plenty of other ways to
watch Nuke on real time Highlight League. Highlight League coming
up next. We got more from the day after NFL
trade deadline. Big stuff to get to keep it right here,

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Okay, okay, you can't play this song again. You can't
play this song again? Why because it sounds like it's
just skipping. You can't play this song again? Does this
offend you? Hurt your brain? I feel like my eyes
are like slots in a casino. Really? Yeah? Okay, okay,
something else? Okay, I learned something new about you. Oh
(16:23):
it's terrible man too great song. But I think if
you played enough you could get in my head and
then tell me to do things, I'd go do it.
I want you to go key this person's car. I'll
be right by there. Go key somebody's car. Oh okay, Greg, Like, now,
if you'd gotten the lights to bloat man appropriately like
strobe lights, then maybe maybe you had something there. We
got more on TNF coming up in a few minutes,
but right now halftime, Lakers lead the Spurs sixty to
(16:46):
fifty nine. Game of the night in the NBA wemby
so far seven points, four boards, couple assists of stealing
a block in sixteen minutes. This has been all Luka
Doncic in twenty minutes twenty two points, seven assists, six rebounds,
three steals, two blocks for the Lakers doing everything. One
(17:06):
of the more entertaining games of the year. A big
game tonight. We'll keep it posted on this throughout. Uh No,
but we're it's a highlight league. That's why I We'll
tell you it's why you listen to us, because we're
it's a highlight league. We have out the highlights. That's
all we need. But speaking of this game, it was
announced at game time that we talked about Lebron James
(17:27):
and we had, you know, great stuff, like the most
fascinating thing is going to be Lebron James are gonna
come back to this Laker team as the number three option.
And I always say I still can't picture him actually
playing for the Lakers this season, knowing full well how
much they want him gone, how much he's outside the
circle that begins and ends with Luca Right. You know,
both sides, they would rather be different places, doing different things.
(17:49):
But here we are. Lebron opts in. You know, this
is it for Lebron in Los Angeles? Maybe it's at
the deadline. I can't see him. I really, I really
can't see him playing game for the Lakers. Is I
can't see him actually getting on the court when he
is the number three guy and someone who has become
the the side buddy to Luca Right. He's never been
(18:11):
that in his career. Now, I think my prediction of
not seeing him think we got a while on this
because it was announced today Lebron now is going to
work on playing five on five next. That's his next
step coming back from this glute injury, you know, the
one that stopped him from dancing on the Lives Trim.
(18:33):
It didn't stica he was he was dancing. Uh So,
now he's gonna play five on five. This is his
step to get back to again. Okay, great, we see
that he is not traveling with the Lakers on their
upcoming five game road trip, So you are now going
to get to game twenty of the NBA season, twenty
(18:53):
ish before Lebron James possibly is returning. And now I'm
I look, I get conspiracy theory on this, but yeah,
I'm wondering how much he's just pushing this so he
doesn't have to play for them, or I got to
push it to the point where when I come back,
maybe they're not playing well and I can be viewed
as a savior, because if I come back now and
we start losing, it's gonna be Lebron ruined the team
(19:15):
because they're six and two. They're playing so well without me.
Everybody else is scoring, other guys are They're able to
put stats up for him because they're actually getting shots
and scoring points, whether it's La Ravia or Marcus Smart
or Hatchamura. But I really wonder how much is Lebron.
I'm gonna delay my debut as long as I absolutely
have to so when I come back, I look like
(19:36):
I'm saving the team. Then maybe I can get traded
back to Cleveland the deadline or something else. This is
where I'm at with Lebron for this season right now,
knowing full well, now little sciatica a little bit. Yeah, now,
twenty games into the season, at least before we see yeah,
I will say this, he's at least getting off the
bench quickly because he's been arguing calls vacifous tonight. Right, Yeah,
(19:58):
he's got that nice checkerboard. Ja I get on. I
really like that look. I mean, that's that's pretty good.
If we can get him to wave really fast, he
could be the flag at a on NASCAR F one event.
But I think if he spun around, it could like
like like in uh Hunger Games where where Jennifer Lawrence
dressed the girl caught five should catch the Yeah, the
girl caught on fire? Yeah you can me get Chucci
(20:18):
laughing like a madman in the house. Hey, pay poor
one out for uh are you gonna go my white?
Lenny Kravitz because you know they took care of sin
in that you know, well, you know he designed the
dress that took care of him. He's a good designer though, Yeah,
really designed great stuff. Yeah, killed him off screen too,
it's like, wait, just in his dead? Oh yeah, yeah,
(20:39):
you weren't pay him to come back for the movie.
So yeah, no, you know he's he's gone. They didn't
have enough in old footage to kill him off on screen.
I mean, what the hell are we doing here? You
know you couldn't go see g I for that one scene.
I wonder if you don't actually have to show him.
But do actors have it? Some actors have it in
their contract where you can't see g im and I wonderful. Sure, No, no,
I can't see Gimmy into this movie. You're gonna use me,
(21:01):
You're gonna use me specifically. Oh, I'm sure there's specific
clauses to all that. Now clone them? Oh well, if
they clone them? No, what if it's Brady's dog? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah, if it's Brady's dog, it's allowed. Brady's dog
is allowed. Apparently, Well do I own the rights to
because I can't tell if the do. But I can't
tell if the dog is Like, how can you tell
if a clone dog if there's something that's different about
(21:22):
like I could tell if there's something different. I mean
remember multiplicity, Yeah, I mean there were some stark differences
between I mean, original Michael Keaton. I'd be able to
tell if you know, if you use Lenny Kravitz or
a clone Lenny Kravit, if Lenny Kravitz couldn't deliver his
lines or couldn't sing or just started singing from Okay,
that's a clone Lenny kravitzs, but a clone dog, well
take a bite out of them. Yeah, could well be
able to tell. Yeah, that wouldn't have to be a
(21:44):
thing chocolate. Yeah, but yeah, it's it's that that curiosity
here for lebron Of. He's jumping off the bench, so
he's actually invested in what they're doing. So I'll give
him credit there. He's either acting really well or he
really actually gives damn about the game. I'll let you
guys all decide. But it's that, you know, that investment
(22:05):
because he at least showed up because that hadn't happened
a couple of times too, Or he sat on that
throne at the end of the bench, uh, you know,
just like he was there for folks to kiss the
ring or whatever. So he's at least active with his teammates,
so that's got to be a step positive. No, Well,
he's got he could still get back after twenty years,
but he could still play sixty two and be eligible.
(22:26):
I think Lebron understands that. Okay, home games, I kind
of have to be yeah a way games. Nah, I'm
going that's why not going with them on the next
five game? Yeah No, I'm not gonna be there, guys,
I'll be hanging out. Well that's wife like, who's the team? JJ?
Reddick is gonna be Jim? Does he show up and
(22:47):
it's all the people this podcast with? Right? I like that.
I think that's what it is. That a big enough catch.
So it's gonna be Riddick, It's gonna be uh rich Paul,
It's gonna be Rich Paul, big cat. I think, uh right,
is he on the podcasting? I think you might be.
I don't know. Uh yeah, he's gonna be on a
lot of guys that call him some big big cat. Yeah.
Yeah's playing point. He'll be the show. I mean that's that.
(23:09):
I mean, we get him over sixteen, it's not quite
uh you know, I mean award worthy, but can give
him a nice ramp up. At this point, you're like,
wait a minute, you're not gonna play till Game twenty.
This is how bad, this is how bad it is
right now? I really I wonder if I want to
see how long I can go before I absolutely have
to pit. Exaggerated load management? No, no, is that exaggerated?
(23:32):
Eat a lot of speculation about what he is isn't,
and then he comes back in full force. The exaggerated
load management would be I'm playing for a couple of weeks.
I'm sitting for a couple of weeks. I'm playing for Christmas.
I'm sitting for a couple of weeks. Right like that
would that would be it? But yeah, I don't think
the load manager. You don't want to say, well, I'm
sitting and I'm gonna have a shorter season. But Lebron,
(23:52):
I mean, it's like I I really I can't. I
can't see him actually playing and being such a aminished figure
because he's not going to be for them, right I mean,
I again, that's a hot take. That's a hot take now.
But if the thing is though, if you're gonna trade
him now, you could Lebron James call other teams and
(24:14):
tell everybody, look, I'm healthy. I've been doing X, Y
and Z because I feel like and teams say yes,
you're right, Lebron will take But at this point, I
don't think Lebron has that cachet to say, yeah, I'm healthy,
trade for me. Well no, no, hang on, we got
to trade a lot of money. We got to make
a lot of stuff work here to trade. We want
him to know that you're healthy. He's gonna have to
come back and play for the Lakers at some point,
isn't he. I mean to show that I'm healthy, you
(24:36):
can trade for me or you know, and I want out.
I want to go spend the rest of this year
with the Knicks or the Calves or back to the
Heat or whatever. It's gonna be like, he's got to show.
If it was Lebron of three years ago, I would
say maybe not okay, But to your point, it begs
the question of how legit is the quote unquote injury ailment.
(24:59):
Of course, I question everything is sitting out Charles Barkley.
What two weeks ago, he just goes it hurt? He's old?
Is that the case? So then I don't need proof
of concept. Whenever he's ready to play. As he was
last year, he was still a top fifteen guy, you
know in the NBA. Even what we asked to Luca,
(25:19):
Do I do I need to see him play ten games? No,
I don't think. I think it's not an injury. I
think I think it is.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
No.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Yeah, you can make you can claim you need to
know what I meant. If if you didn't have to
trade a lot for Lebron, if you didn't have to
trade big salary guys someone coming out of your rotation,
I would think, No, you wouldn't need to see him
play because you're adding Lebron and you're hoping what you're
gonna get is great, and you're banking on the fact
(25:47):
that he's telling you the truth about things. But when
you have to make money and you can't just dump
guys that are terrible, you're gonna have to trade some
kind of players that, hey, this is a valuable piece
for us. You know, maybe it's worth it getting the
answer Lebron, but we want to know that what we're
giving up is gonna we're gonna be able to get
back a healthy guy to play for. Yeah. But see,
(26:07):
I've had that question for teams like Cleveland often mentioned
every once in a while, you were Nicks whatever, Like
I don't want to give up pieces of my rotation
to decide, all right, I'm bringing him in because what
if he does hit the cliff? All right, what if
it's there? But also I have to disrupt exactly how
I'm playing. Like we're talking about it with the Lakers.
(26:28):
Look at how free and clear these guys are to
play a playground. But is he really but that all
of a sudden he shows up and if you're not
gonna boss up, you can't hurry him and say, hey,
say we're gonna put you on the injured Listen, you're
not playing for us anymore? Wait what Yeah, sorry, Lebron.
But the same thing with all these other teams where
you're like, all right, I suddenly have to lose three
guys out of my eight man rotation to bring this
guy in. Is it gonna work the same way?
Speaker 2 (26:50):
But I don't.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
I don't know. But I don't know that you have
to give up that much. You have to give up
enough to make the salaries match. It's not it's not well,
we're giving up three guys out of our rotation. It's
gonna be Lebron's gonna bet someone, but the Lakers is
over the top or this isn't working with this mix,
we need something new. If it doesn't work with Lebron,
we're gonna add into the off season and use that
money to get what else we dot. But I don't
(27:11):
think the Lakers in a position again with what we're
watching here where they're gonna say, all right, we're gonna
give this guy up and get a couple of busters
that just fill the salary requirements, like they want legitimate assets.
If they're gonna give him up, right, that's why I say,
you're gonna need to see him play at some point.
If you're gonna give up a legitimate asset or two,
you're gonna need to see him play. If they're televising
(27:31):
the five on five, not if you have YouTube, ESPN,
you won't be able to see it. You just get
the highlights. But Adam Silver make sure we get the highlights.
So it's okay. We're a highlight league. Highlight league. It's happening. Really.
You wonder how much is is Lebron just embarrassed and
I can't get a win right now? Coming back is
all I could do is screw up the good start
we had and people will blame me, and I can't
(27:53):
deal with that. So I'm just gonna stay out as
long as I can until I come back at the
most fortuitous time for me. I'll bet make it right
now he comes back when the Lakers hit some kind
of skid or losing streak where oh, things aren't going
that great, then you're gonna see Lebron. That's and suddenly it's, oh, hey,
I'm feeling pretty good now, guys, all of a sudden,
off the reasons scoring forty a night. Okay, all of
(28:15):
a sudden, Jake Laaravia is not. Oh he's such a
huge dude coming off the bench for us or whatever.
We have to move him out of the starting lineup. Yeah,
when the Lakers hit the skids, that's gonna see Lebron
remarkably start feeling better. Yeah, and I hope that they
play him into King Nothing or instead of King Diamond. Well,
I mean that that would be greatness. That would hear.
I wanted to mock it, TJ. That would not be
(28:37):
a merciful fate for the Lakers. Time not to find
out what's trending in the wide world of sports. With
someone who owns every King Diamond solo album there is,
It's Monty Belagnas. No, I don't have him anymore. Oh god,
Oh okay, yeah, I only had him at one point.
But you sold him on e Bay for sure? What
did I sell? King Diamond?
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Sure did?
Speaker 1 (28:59):
Sure? Hurt it? McDonald rocket roll.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Let's start in the NBA. Why not?
Speaker 4 (29:06):
The Warriors and the Kings are tied at seventy one
right now, halfway through the third quarter. No anybody for
the Warriors hold you but literally, like.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
If you like.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
It's just but it's a close game because Sacramento is
also not playing with Demonta Simonis or Zach Lavine.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
So Russell Webber is playing point guards exactly for the Warriors.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Russell Westbrook has nineteen points for Sacramento and nine rebounds.
The Warriors are up seventy four to seventy one right
now at the half. The thunder are topping the Trailblazers
sixty five to fifty seven, and the Lakers are edging
the Spurs at home sixty to fifty nine. Luka Doncic
twenty two point six rebounds and seven assists. Cooper Flagg
had the opportunity to win it for the Mavericks had
(29:48):
about ten seconds to take a final shot kind of
rushed it. It looked like he missed it. It was
not a good shot. Pelicans held on one on one
to ninety nine in Dallas, flag into a twenty points
nine rebound in the loss. Another day at the office
for Nikola Jokic a triple double thirty three points, fifteen rebounds,
sixteen assists as the Nuggets defeated the Heat one twenty
(30:08):
two to one twelve. The Knicks over the Timberwolves today
one thirty four to one fourteen, and the Nets got
their first win of the season. They outscored the Pacers
one twelve to one oh three. In the NHL, three
games are going on right now. Flames over the Blue
Jackets for to one after two periods, Blackhawks and Connects
scoreless after two periods, and the Sharks have a three
to one.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Lead over the Cracket.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
They're going to start the third period soon.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Alex Lovachikan reached nine hundred career goals today as the
Capitals snapped their four game losing streak and crushed the
Blues six to one. When it comes to the NFL,
Rams head coach Sean McVay says he expects wide receiver
Pukinakua to play this Sunday against the forty nine Ers
despite a revigery that he suffered last Sunday in a
win against the Saints, and Commander's head coach Dan Quinn
says that they're still evaluating how to proceed with Jayden
(30:53):
Daniel's elbow injury, including getting second opinions. Would it be
second opinions or a second opinion?
Speaker 1 (31:00):
You get a second opinion, a second you get a
bunch of second opinions, Yeah, a bunch.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
Of second I mean, I mean, I'm gonna guess they're
gonna get a bunch of second opinions.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Second opinions, Yes, you get a bunch of them. Is
one you talk to one person, you get a second opinion,
and then if you don't like that, and you get
another second one, which is really the third opinion, which
is the third opinion. So you could only get one
second opinion, right, and then move on to the third, fourth,
and third. Yes, exactly right. That's but I don't think
people like the fact that, hey, you're my fifth opinion, dude,
the fifth opinion. That's true. Yeah, yeah, exactly than Jason

(32:49):
tomorrow Thursday Night Football. We've made it to another week
in the NFL. Week ten is here and it's the
Raiders and the Broncos. Yeah. I would love to find
a world to pick the Raiders in, but I can't.
I don't think there's a world. I don't think there's
an MCU world. But you can travel to with doctor
Strange where you would find one where the Raiders beat
the Broncos tomorrow night. Yeah, that's really I don't think
(33:11):
you'll find one. Trying to figure out every bit of
the calculation. Look, the Denver offense has been fits and
starts right and not not exactly a smooth running operation.
But outside of Max Crosby, I haven't cloned him. No.
I know Tom Brady's partial owner at all, but I
don't think it's transcended to hey, we got eleven of
this guy. So can you imagine eleven Max Crosby is
(33:36):
running around on the field. That's a lot of tattoos
that is. That would be absolute chaos, man, that would
be Wow, You're gonna have to differentiate them by you know,
special tattoos. It would look like a pollock painting, just
all the different colors everywhere all the day, and they
would still lose it. But it would be fun to
watch though. It be fun to see Max Crosby. So
(33:58):
let's do this, let's preview and pick some other things
that's gonna go along with this big Bronco victory. I
will tell you this Tomorrow night. Give me three interceptions
for Geno Smith. Three. Three. Now, he's coming off a
hot game, right, coming off a hot game through four touchdowns? Okay, great, Uh,
this is the best defense in the NFL. Give me
(34:19):
three interceptions by Geno Smith. In fact, I'll give you
this three interceptions and one within the first five passes
he throws tomorrow night. One of the first five passes
he throws Patrick. It doesn't matter, It doesn't matter, Steve,
that water will get him at least once. Wow, I
get you. Wow, a hat trick. Three picks for Geno
(34:45):
Smith tomorrow night one we see eight and O'Connell in
the first Oh no, no, you probably see him the
whole game. Are all three pick sixes?
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Okay, okay, wow, Now we're talking. One within the first
five passes he throws. One is a pick six? All right?
So defense special teams, uh plus four forty for a touchdown? Okay,
all right, with the Denver. Can I can I get
onto one of the first five throws interceptions? Yeah? No,
I don't have that specifically. I think you'd have to
(35:14):
contact your book. Hey, can you create a prop bet
just for me? What do you got? First five?
Speaker 2 (35:22):
First five?
Speaker 1 (35:23):
No, that's a great program for kids to learn how
to read and get ready. But no, no, no, no, first five,
pick pick six, first five throws by Gino Smith. One
of them is going the other one pretty impressive on
going the other way. I love that. I think that's
minus two to fifty. It's okay, wow, okay, so I
gotta I gotta get I got a little more, okay.
And one of them is a tipped interception. Yeah, I
(35:43):
mean the over for his interception is minus one. Oh damn,
I was close. I mean that's not a pick six,
but I mean to throw an interception at some point
in the game three. This is like in Ocean's eleven. No, no,
I want to rob three casinos. No, not one interception.
(36:05):
Three interception implies a six sixty six chance. Yeah, that's
happening tomorrow. Best defense in the NFL, Gino Smith. Absolutely,
that's happening. Absolutely, Gino Now Denver total points in this game,
I will go over forty over forty for the game
(36:28):
is forty three? Yeah, so they win forty three nothing,
so forty three. I will go over forty for the Broncos,
right number one. You've watched this offense, No, but it is.
It is a different offense at home and on the road. Sure,
they score tons of points at home, they don't on
the road. This game is at home. It's a Thursday night.
The Raiders are terrible. They score a lot of points.
(36:50):
Bo Nicks will light it up. You will see tons
of point totals across the board for the Broncos tomorrow night.
Lots of guys in play Fantasy. I got a big
Fantasy bull prediction for you a minute two. But there's
lots of guys across the board. Maybe it's Courtland Sutton
with the big night, maybe it's Franklin, maybe they both catch.
But I will go over forty points for the Broncos
tomorrow night. Wow, that's that's insane. You like that? Huh?
Speaker 3 (37:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:14):
I mean I love the bold proclamation of it all.
They scored forty four against Dallas a couple of weeks ago,
thirty three against the Giants, only thirteen against the Jets.
I mean that was overseas, but yeah, they're not at home.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
And then twenty going back to the opener against Tennessee. Yeah,
different offensive, different offense at home. At this point they
go over forty. They just go up and down the field,
and boy, tomorrow night, hol Michael's is gonna say, these
are the games I was afraid of. These are the
games I didn't want to come back for. Right now,
forty three is the total? Kirk, how's your dog doing?
(37:52):
You know, let's just have your dog do the rest
of the game. I see these videos on TikTok all
the time. A dog's doing podcasts, So why why don't
we just let your dog come on here do some stuff.
See now you're hitting the nerve for me. You know
how much I'm tired of Kirk and his damn dog. No,
but if it was a talking dog like the pilcarriff
is dogged, they had dog with a blow and dog
(38:15):
dead dog. No, no, no, no, there's not Clay. It's just
a new dog. It's sure. I think it's the Is
it the son of Ben? Is it Ben? Something like Ben?
Ben's deceased. That's right, right, he had a good run.
Men's son. Now I'm getting I feel like we're doing
Star Wars now. I think it might be Ben's son.
I think the son not Ben's son, Robert Kellome, not
Ben's son, but son of benat I think it might
(38:36):
be son of Ben Cross. I might be son of Ben.
I'm not sure, but it might be. It might be
third Bull. I'll give you a big fantasy bull prediction.
Right so number one three picks by Gino Smith, one
within the first five throws of the game. One is
a pick six over forty points for the Broncos. Tomorrow night,
your fantasy start of the week, your spots started. I
(38:58):
might have to give me a fifteen point PPR game
for RJ. Harvey starting to get a few more carries
been a big part of their game, plus the fact
that he's been their red zone guy. For sure, in
a short week, you're not gonna overload, You're gonna try
to spread things out a little bit. He's gonna get
a little bit more carries. Dobbins is not gonna get
(39:19):
all the He's gonna start getting a little bit of
a work. He's gonna get in the end zone at
least once, catch a couple of passes, give me a
fifteen point fantasy night for our guy.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
I mean he's only plus two ten for the anytime touchdowns,
so given his red zone proclivities of late, certainly an
opportunist there and JK. Dobbins, they've got to be judicious
with his work clip given his history. Yeah, and also
the lady you're getting the season one, and I'm sure
that's probably the plan. At some point. It was the
(39:47):
we're dividing up responsibily a little bit more. We don't
want to burn out or running young running back early.
We know he's good, but it's gonna be a little
while before we get him in midway part of the season.
Now we start getting mod and they've trusted him in
the passing game the last couple of weeks even more
so so they trust that he's not going to get
Bonix killed, which is always a nice plus for a
rookie running back. That's usually what keeps them off the
(40:09):
field early on. But for Dobbins, Yeah, you push it back.
If it plays to script, then yeah, that fifteen is
definitely doable. What can I get on the point, what
do you think the odd are going to that parlay
the Gino Smith part of it over forty points and
the fifteen fantasy points PPR full point PPR. Take the
Gino stuff out, you'd probably do well. You're why the
g But the Geno's in science. He's gonna do it.
(40:31):
Oh so you think the odds are two, three and okay, three?
I in ts three iron T's is a three, one
pick six and one within the first five field. Send
it along. Defermin Sys is here again. Smith will give
you any odds you want on that. I'll give you
whatever you want on that, Harvey, I need more specifics.
I don't think the fantasy point we need to translate
that into actual stats. But yeah, we'll make it work.
(40:52):
Exit up about a Fresco exit swollen dome. Coming up next,
we got two big NFL stories on the way. Jason
and Mike. This is Fox Sports Radio.
