Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. The old guy
still getting all the views.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
I see Martin Wise via Husky filling in for Jason
Smith and Mike Harmon, and we're broadcasting live from the
tyrack dot com. Todosirac dot com will help you get
there with the unmatched election, fast, free shipping, free run

buying should be, so VJA and one of my favorite Yes,

(00:29):
this could have been an email moment and actually was
an email problem. The NBA schedule has been released all right,
at least a number of nationally televised games. Well, this
is on the heels of the most watched basketball game
that I could think of in the last at least
three years, the gold Medal game and the subsequent games

(00:51):
leading up to it.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
And it seems that the.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
NBA schedule makers, instead of looking at the potential, they're like,
you know what, let's keep giving the same, old, same.
This is a league to me that is in desperate
need of establishing new young stars.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
When you look at the.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Olympics that we just ran, right the three unmitigated Kings
of the Hill, so to speak, from that Olympic team, Lebron,
Steph Curry, Kevin Duran. Right, those were the three guys
that we were looking at as like, man, boom, this
is this is crazy, right, this is this is These
are the three you know, having conversations like, man, this

(01:33):
is just last week, how'd.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
You feel watching them probably for the last time, to
get like we.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Talked about it, like y'all and so knowing that, like
you said last week, said how does it feel to
watching these may be the last relevant games that we
see them play, the last high stakes games that we
see them play. Well, the NBA must have heard that
if they said, just in case, we're gonna make sure
you guys see all of their damn. Twenty seven of

(02:02):
the Lakers games are nationally televised.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Twenty four of the Warriors games.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Are nationally televised. They are two of the top five
teams with nationally televised games.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
And both going to be playing teams, but go.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Ahead, both of them will be playing team absolutely the
Boston Celtics twenty six. Okay, defending NBA titles champion makes
a lot of sense, right, I think that.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Should be about thirty though, twenty six pills low. I
got you.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
They're in the They're in the correct neighborhood, young stars,
brown tit them.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
That's what you think. Okay, the Knicks get it. Go
New York Go, New York Go. It's kind of like
the Cowboys. If the Cowboys are good, then the NFL
ratings as a whole will soar. If the Knicks are good,
the NBA rating as a whole will soar.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
How many they have? Twenty four? All right, the Mavericks
with twenty three, I get that, all right.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Luka doncic Western Conference Finals representative.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Right after that, Kyrie, you get play in the fold
this year exactly.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
But the two that I cannot understand though, uh oh,
can I guess sure?

Speaker 1 (03:06):
One's Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
They are on the list of ones that I can't exactly.
I know it is because you're I know, I answer
you a guy, and I'm with you. I don't know
the number, but if you're bringing it up, you're not
happy with the numbers. Song bright and not gonna be
out to the number hit me.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Minnesota has nineteen sorry eighteen nationally televised game.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yeah, that's bad.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
That is trailing the seventy six ers, the Nuggets, and
obviously the first five that I named the Suns also
at nineteen games. To me, if you are trying to
build this league up, we are going to know what
Lebron does.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
We are going to know what Steph Curry does, like
because those are the nationally like because those games nationally
televised are not those are going to be the ones
that are.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Discussed in the a block of all the reaction shows
the next day. Those are gonna be the ones.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Yea, those are gonna be the one even on nights
they don't play, sure because because they might play that night,
I play tomorrow night. The Kings beat the Spurs. What
does that mean for the playing.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Chances for the Lakers? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, right, like that's like we are going to know
because these are the where everybody else pays attention to, right,
you know what I'm It'll be that Oh yeah, Zion
hamstring watch again if he gets healthy care. They knocked
the Lakers out of their plans, right Like, those are
the lord the timeline are the storylines that will exist,

(04:25):
but the one So you're right in that Minnesota, I
would have liked to see that bumped up a little
bit more. I can see as many. I was just
about to say, lining them up with the Knicks. Yeah, yeah,
likening the young up and coming teams. Right, Do we
know if they'll be great next year?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
No?

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Will they be as good as they were last year?
We're not sure yet. We probably lean yes right now,
but we'll see the star. They have a young they
have the young star. Put this guy on TV now,
the one that, to me is the most egregious to
take another fight go for.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
I got two teams. I'm I'm a cheat here. It's
either OKC or the Spurs. It's Oklahoma City.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Wow, boy, you see what three years going on? Three years?
To god? That does man? Is that camaraderie? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:11):
And just okay, I get that these are not first
place finishes, but when you finished second and MVP voting,
and then you finished second and Rookie of.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
The Year, especially in a year in which you had
an MVP.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
That played out of his mind, right, so it's not
it wasn't like a normal MVP year.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
It's kind of like MVP going away.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Right, And then you had a Rookie of the Year
which was in the same boat. Like I like it's
not one like an MVP year where it's like, oh damn,
we're putting hairs between shooting percentage and and rebounding, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
No, No, it was pretty much yok, We're we're good
with that. Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Victorim Jama could play forty games and he would have
got Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Like it was kind of it was his to lose.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, but if he didn't exist, everybody would have been
nobody would have been looking at him. Been like man
week year for like like this year in the NFL,
like kind of like week year for MVP. You know,
it's like like you kinda kind of really make a case.
There's no clear cut guy who threw for six thousand
yards and fifty five touchdowns five interceptions.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Right, you know what I'm saying. There was no clear cut.
It wasn't like that there were there were it was
one and then everybody else.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
But this gap between two and three was still pretty
significant where these guys are stars.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Right. He wasn't like you were.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Pulling hairs trying to find somebody else to fill in,
like the like, it wasn't like one guy got ninety
nine percent of the vote, and then anyway, I'd believe.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
What's the number four ok se in san Antonio? San
Antonio is thirteen Wow. Wow.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Seriously, I agree with san Antonio because san Antonio's best
case scenario for the Spurs this year, in my opinion,
is winning.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Thirty eight games.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
It doesn't matter. You gotta show big, but it does
not matter. You gotta show big if.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
You're but we got to show It's got to be
a mix because you can't just be the Lamello Ball
hour on national TV because he's a young star, but
his team is terrible.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Do you see what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
It can't just be that there's gonna be some level
because because here's what we gotta see guys and we
have to see guys nationally throughout the season that are
going to be the guys that are making postseason runs
in the late season that can look at I can
do without the Lakers being number one.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
I think that's atrocious and Kodin state at twenty four.
Boston needs to be at thirty from twenty six. Minnesota
needs to be at twenty five. I could even give
three or four more games to the Nicobacas because once again.
It's New York, it's the Big Apple, It's Gotham City.
You feel what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Like, plus, you know one of them is built in
Christmas death.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Yeah, oh whoa, whoa exactly, But okay, see you, it's
funny man, your teas to the break. I thought we
were gonna come back. I didn't look ahead on the rundown.
I thought you were talking about the WNBA. I thought
that's where you were going. And then I shot out
of here to go use the restroom and come back.
And now I'm looking at this like, wow, he's right.
We the league they say they want to push the

(07:58):
young stars, here's an opportunity to do so with legitimate
young stars. Look at okc's roster. That's full of young stars.
So how do they not have more games than honestly
the old guys? Where's the suns at? How many of
the sunsetting at?

Speaker 1 (08:13):
They're ninth They're right, I'm sorry, eights right above? How
many Minnesota? Nineteen?

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Okay, So I promise you out of those nineteen games,
we'll see their big three play together, probably about six
of them.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
So they're gonna have thirteen national televised games.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Where either Durant, Booker or Bill or not on the floor,
or maybe two of them won't be on the floor,
or maybe all three of them won't be on the floor.
This is why I got a team like san Antonio.
I don't care if the team is bad. Let's stop
acting like the NBA cares about teams. The NBA right
now is completely on a superstar run. They don't care

(08:48):
about teams. It's obvious by saying the Lakers get twenty
seven national televised games, we know the Lakers are going
no further than first, maybe second, and if not that
they're gonna be a.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Playing team and they're gonna be eliminated. Then everybody will
get blamed.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Polink will get fired, and it'll be the same reset
and story all next offseason. Golden State Warriors, everybody know
how I love Steph, that's my guy. But this is
not a championship team anymore. It's not a championship franchise anymore.
They've blown that by and I was wrong at first
about it, but by giving Draymond that money and shipping

(09:26):
off Jordan Poole was the was the kneiling the coffin
to any chance that they have ever to win another
NBA championship. Boston, the defending champion, to me should always
be thirty and more if the defending champions shall always
get there. And it's Boston. It's a big market. Martin
like people, you either love or hate Boston. You ever
met anybody that's kind of in the middle. Long, Boston's

(09:46):
like you either hate the Celtics or you love them, right,
I hate them.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
I'm a Pistons fan.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
I can't stand the Celtics so but I always want
to watch them because I want them to lose. But
I just Minnesota get I can see bumped up. Okay,
see the san Antonio one. World just disagree on Victor.
He just showed us an the Olympics. He's the next guy.
I want to see the point the reason san Antonio is.
I want to see Like when we got to this
year's postseason.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Right, Anthony Edwards had had a few viral.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Ish moments right where he dunked on John Collins, had
a couple other plays that just happened throughout the course
of the regular season.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Game quotes and stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
You know, then you see his then you see his
star take another turn in the in the postseason. As
they start to as they start off so hot, very
similarly to on the west of the Eastern side of things,
Tyre's Halliburton. While I didn't have the same not this
exactly the same charisma as Anthony Edwards, I would say
he had a similar year in terms of going from

(10:43):
a guy who was kind of not just a guy
but a star level player to now an All star
are all NBA Conference fin But you see that, right,
But we didn't see that out of Tyresse Halliburton.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
We were hearing about it because we're not watching it
on national TV.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
When you look at the way the NFL does their schedule,
like they highlight these young players. They're gonna they're gonna
they're gonna put the number one overall pick on hard Knocks.
They're gonna put you know, they're gonna put.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Where are you Chicago? Okays? Cool?

Speaker 2 (11:14):
If Trevor Lawrence, guess what we're gonna put you on
prime time?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
You got some Monday night games.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
We're gonna see, Like, is that is Jacksonville the same
size of a market to say New York or like
we're always gonna see a New York Cowboys game. Almost
always gonna see that early in the season before the Giants.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Think it's always gonna be Fox's afternoon late games.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
You gonna see that game and that in that big window.
We'll see the forty nine ers in that big window.
But like this year, we're gonna see or like when
Arizona got Kyler Murray. Guess what we were seeing Arizona
in the big windows. People want to see the number
one overall pick. People want to see these young players
and you rank basically, you bring them out and cycle
them out if you're the NBA, until one resonates. Instead,

(12:00):
they keep playing the.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Same old songs.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
And this is the top forty site Lebron steph KD.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
And it's like, guys, part of the reason why this
is the case because this is what you keep giving people.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Yeah, so a list I pulled up here because I
said it during a curcial break. Now I got natural
televised because including NBA TV. You want to hear these numbers, sure,
including NBA T Where do you think the Lakers are at?
Including NBA, including NBA TV. This is the list I
said doing commercial break. I saw, this is the one
I saw, tweeted out.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I'd say they right now? Aver twenty seven. That's just
across the broadcast partners.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
YEP.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
On NBA TV, I'd say there was thirty five, thirty
nine games. Almost half of Laker games are either going
to be on you know, TNT or ESPN or NBA TV.
Right behind them Golden State at thirty six, Celtics at
thirty four, Nicobacas I love this thirty four. So they
got so they gave them ten extra games on NBA
TV alone. So the Nicobaca's got ten extra added on

(12:57):
from the other platforms. Then is Dallas Suns, Nuggets, Buck Sixers,
timber was okay, see uh, Spurs get kind of Spurs
get bumped up, they get some more, they get some
NBA TV love, they get twenty one with the NBA
TV added to it. So, and last, who do you
think is the worst? Martin or you got the list
in front of you. It's the top for It's a
top for three teams.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
They're probably all NBA TV games.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Three teams that the Detroit Pistons, the Washington Wizards, and
the Charlotte Hornets.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
No, you got one right, you got Pistons, Trailblazers, okay,
and the Raptors only have four national games, including NBA TV,
and I guarantee you they're all on NBA TV. Those
games are not They did not put the Pistols on ESPN.
I can I maybe T and T, but they're definitely

(13:47):
not on ESPN. But I agree with you. And when
you look down Houston, how do you cause that's your
that was your squad last year. As far as hey
watch this team and I'm this year, I'm putting them
into playoffs. But once again, we're not gonna know anything
because only got eleven games.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to see h I'm not
so sure about that anymore.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Why not you changed Soka? You were close, bro, They
were right there last year.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
They just kind of fell apart the last six or
seven games in the season, but they were right there
to really try to push for that play in. I
think I think you may the guy could fight out
coach to Pill. Excuse me, I think he can fly
out coach de Pill. I think they'll be a lot
better this year. Coach emai Udoka. It's doctor Umar Johnson. Yeah,

(14:29):
doctor Umar Johnson.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
He's funny. Uh coming up next?

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Uh the head guy is apparently taking somebody else's job.

Speaker 1 (14:38):

less and less seriously.

We'll get to that in just a moment.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Martin Weiss VJ Husky Coach Husky to all you jerks

Speaker 1 (16:18):
There's people already hastag Husky Prime, Mabe. I don't love
I don't love Husky Prime.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
I like Prime Husky, Like, I like Prime Husky.

Speaker 6 (16:29):
Yo.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
It's prime Husky. I like prom Husky. Husky Prime sounds
like you get see you in two days.

Speaker 8 (16:37):

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Like, yes, dude, But it's already tweeting. It's already hashtag.
Coach Husky is already is one trending. How many you
got to be for it to be trending?

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Dog?

Speaker 8 (16:52):
If I start seeing you in like the top five
of like just Twitter trending, it's coach Husky.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Coach Husky.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Hey, just so you guys know, Birmingham is D two
CIF Southern Sectional, City Sectional, three time reigning city champions.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
I was higher than my high school where I was raised.
So there you go. Ain't no, uh you know, you know, Johnny,
come latelies man.

Speaker 8 (17:12):
You knows what this division four man, your division two
like dog way higher.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Going in for Jason Smith and Mike Harmon on this
lovely Friday evening across the United States. So these dress
rehearsals VJ. Yeah, that's what I call preseason games. It
is a dress rehearsal for the play. Yeah, right, you
know you can go through everybody.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
All right, guys, we're running it on time now, no breaks,
no breaks.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
I don't care what happened. Everybody hit their marks. If
you forget your lines, you gotta power through. This Israel follows,
this is rail all right. Snow White, you're ready, Dwarves,
you're ready.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
All right.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Quarterback live, quarterback of the half exactly. Quarterback is live.
So uh McVeigh.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
He did something that I think, it's something that I
like to see more and more happening, especially because it
is happening to the guys who are the recipients of
this have been overwhelming minority candidates, minority minority defensive backs,
or you know, assistant head coaches that have had the
opportunity to coach preseason games, right because the head coach

(18:25):
will step down. Mike the Tennessee coach, Mike Vraper did
it just last year. He had I can't remember who
the guy was now, but it's overwhelmingly has been minority guys.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
I think it's good.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
It seems to me to be a real tangible thing
to try ascribe to a minority seek a minority guy
seeking head coaching, right because a lot of times, especially
with the Eric b Enemy conversation, he was a stand
in for a lot of just basically you know, aka
black coach not getting hired.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
A lot of times with.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
That, it'd be like, oh, we don't have this experience,
don't have that experience. Well, now, when all be pleasant
says he's trying to, you know, be a head coach,
He's like, well, no, no, no, I actively coach the preseason.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Like, look, you can watch me make calls, you can
watch me manage a game. Right.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
I think it also gives a little bit of evidence
of a higher incentive to win that game, to compete
in that game. Of course, even though you're not playing
your starters and all of that coaching right now, we're
trying to make this happen.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
So I like that aspect of What I don't like
is what Sean McVay will be doing during the game.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Okay, now, I seehere you're going because you're confusing me
right there, all right, But.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
I like the aspect of Okay, no, no, no, I'm going
to take a step back. If I'm the head coach,
you have to give one of my guys an opportunity
to cutch. This is a game that it doesn't matter
if we want to lose. Give him the opportunity to
go out there and have this be a check on
his have control over the team for a day, and
I imagine it extends much farther and just the sideline

(20:01):
head coaches all types of duties, yeah, throughout the day game.
So he gets the opportunity to run the whole build
the set at six am this morning. Yeah, we're on
all three pleasant time. What I don't like is what
he's doing in the meantime. First, let's address do you
how do you feel about the idea of somebody stepping in,
and we'll get to what I don't like after Steve's update.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Love it.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
I love this, but like I said, like tomorrow, the
night before when you leave the facility, you stick your
head in his office and you go, all right, coach,
I'll see you in the morning. What time do you
need me here? No, yeah, tomorrow at five am. It's
your team. It's your franchise, not not your team. It's
your franchise until five am, forty eight hours from now tomorrow.

(20:43):
It's your whole, not just when we get out to
the field to play the game. So no, I like this.
Pop did this for Becky Hammond, my little basketball boom boom.
Pop did this for Becky Hammond. Letter coached some preseason
games and then the summer league team and look what
it did, got her head coaching job with the Vegas
with the Vegas Aces back to back w NBA champions
So Pop did this exact same thing.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
I absolutely love.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
This, and it gives an opportunity for like, this is
just something that I don't even think we would even
heard of her had had there not been like COVID
where you're like, your coach might be down wherever whenever
does the coach missed the game, right, you know what
I'm saying, This is the very rare opportunity.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
So I commend Sean mcvanoper got a job off of
something like this. What then Kurt missed like twenty something games?

Speaker 1 (21:26):
He missed more than that, it was nearly forty. But
that got.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Coaching look right because he's like, no, no, no, look look
just look at this.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
I just did did this. I just did this.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
So now when allb pleasant goes forward and trying to
do the same thing and be like no, no, no, check out,
sixty minutes of Week two of the NFL preseason, I
led Stetson Bennett to a win.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
All right, I don't know if you saw that.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
That's invent at the fourth not on his name, but
on the stat sheet of the four interception.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Ow come on on, stints In. But I'll just spoke
up for you.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Man.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
You're making me look bad, brother. You cost them me money.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
But what Sean McVay is doing during the time period
is what I have the problem with. We'll get to
that coming up in just a minute. But first, Steve
de Seger.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Steve, you're Onsteve.

Speaker 9 (22:16):
We got a lot of NFL to get to. But
earlier in this hour, you referenced the great TV rating
for the Olympic Men's basketball final against France last weekend.
It was about twenty million viewers. Wow, which would make
it the largest audience for basketball in this country in
at least five years, going back to the March Madness
Final that went overtime with Texas Tech in Virginia in

(22:38):
twenty nineteen. Wow, that was a massive And that's this
was an afternoon game. This was not like Sunday night primetime.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
So Steve Wow on the Texas Tech UVA.

Speaker 9 (22:50):
Game March Madness Final four gets ratings.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
I would say that probably if I don't know if
you have it there, I'm trying to trip you up
if you don't. But I'd bet that that gold medal
game twenty million. That's the most viewed professional game like
game involving professional players.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
And what fifteen years.

Speaker 9 (23:07):
For NBA only, I mean for professional.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
Basketball, professional basketball.

Speaker 9 (23:11):
Well, when it was Lebron against Steph not them playing
in a US uniform together, those got good ratings in
the finals, so that would be more.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
But twenty million, that's that's crazy. Like you said, that
was an afternoon.

Speaker 9 (23:21):
Unless it's NFL. Nothing gets twenty million.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
That was a Saturday Afternoon gay an episode of The
Honeymooners forty seven.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
That's that's Michigan, Ohio State. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (23:31):
Yeah, it was just a silly well across the whole
Olympics for two weeks. We're just silly numbers compared to
what general TV gets these days. You mentioned the Rams.
They're going to be playing the Chargers in an exhibition
in LA tomorrow. Rams quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will not play Saturday.
They'll give the reps to Stetson Bennett again, and Garoppolo
will be suspended for the first two games of the
regular season due to a peed violation. The Rams gave

(23:53):
wide receiver Cooper Cup a rest day yesterday. Wide receiver
Puka Nakoua is out with a knee injury, and quarterback
man Matthew Stafford is out till next week with a
bad hamstring. Yes Sean McVay will, according to yesterday's news,
be up in the coaches booth this weekend as assistant
Aubrey Pleasant runs the game tomorrow on the sideline. The
Titans will rest all of their offensive starters Saturday against

(24:15):
Seattle quarterback Malik Willis will start this weekend. The teams
did have two joint practices. Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence will
not play Saturday after getting time in the joint practice
against the Bucks this week. Tampa Bay QB Baker Mayfield
will not play. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will start Saturday
against Houston, returning from last year's torn acl and Bill's

(24:36):
quarterback Josh Allen and the other Buffalo starters will play Tomorrow,
likely for more than a quarter. Quarterback Russell Wilson will
make his Steelers preseason debut Saturday night against the Bills.
The team's held joint practice this week. Wilson is coming
back from a cafe injury. The Steelers said all who
are healthy will play Saturday. For the Bills, linebacker Matt
Mulano will miss at least a few months with the

(24:57):
torn biceps he was hurt on Tuesday. Miss most of
last year with a broken leg in the WNBA three games.
Tonight's Connecticut's gonna win at Dallas a couple minutes to go.
Atlanta on a last second jumper at Seattle and Indiana
defeated Phoenix ninety eight eighty nine Caitlin Clark twenty nine points,
ten assists in the NL West Race for the first

(25:18):
time in about three weeks. The Padres and Diamondbacks have
lost on the same day, and the Dodgers won tonight,
so their lead in the division is back up to
three games over those two teams, who had each one
in nine of ten. Dodgers won their game seven to
six at Saint Louis. Cardinals have lost five straight. The
Padre loss was at Colorado seven to three Rockies, and
Arizona had won six straight, but Arizona gave up a

(25:40):
run bottom of the ninth to lose at Tampa Bay
five to four. The late games in Anaheim bottom of
the six, the Angels tied with the Braves two to two.
The Angels Anthony Rendon left with a bruised elbow. The
White Sox won at Houston five to four, ending the
Stros eight game winning streak. The White Sox record had
been twenty nine and nine. Minnesota won four to three

(26:02):
at Texas. Milwaukee beat Cleveland five to three. That ends
the Guardian's five game winning streaks to the Cleveland lead
in the Al Central down to three games over the twins,
and in the Al Lease, the Yankees and Orioles were
tied for first to start the night. Yankees won three
nothing at Detroit Aaron Judge's forty fourth homer, but Baltimore
lost at home twelve ten to Boston. Philadelphia with a

(26:25):
run bottom of the ninth beat Washington three to two,
and congratulations to the Pittsburgh Pirates, who had lost ten
in a row but beat Seattle five to three. The
winning pitcher young All Star Paul Skens, now seven and two.
He went six innings tonight.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Back to you and Steve real quick. Just about the
ratings on the Olympics. Just only man, it would have
been so much better if they just only had to
put Katelyn Clark on the basketball team.

Speaker 9 (26:46):
Huh I you know, I don't want to, you know,
hit straight fire on our co workers here. But one
of the promos playing was, oh, the Olympic attendants was
down for women's back.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
I heard it.

Speaker 9 (26:57):
What what herds have to do? Are they big college
hoops fans in France? This has nothing to do with
anything people. And by the way, that was still a
good rating for the women's basketball final Sunday because it
was on a Sunday morning, not Saturday primetime like the
last Olympics.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Yep. Yeah, what was it?

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Uh six thirty tip Eastern for the women's final and.

Speaker 9 (27:20):
They still get eight million viewers, thank you.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Yeah, but like I said, just only if only if
you hadded that one other person at Hawcot.

Speaker 9 (27:27):
So no, it didn't get the ratings that Caitlin Clark
in primetime with the Final four got.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
No.

Speaker 9 (27:32):
No, it was Sunday morning yep, right, and.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
The last day of the Games, and like you said.

Speaker 9 (27:39):
It was the last event, last event.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Your burned even myself, Steve, I watched it on DVR.
I'm burned out at that point. I watch a lot
of Olympics man.

Speaker 9 (27:46):
You know, if you add up all the prime tip
what they call the primetime coverage, so not just NBC
but streaming USA Network, all of that. They were averaging
thirty million a day their Olympics for two weeks.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Yeah, ANBC short to drop the ball there.

Speaker 9 (28:01):
There are Sunday NFL windows that don't come close to that.
These were huge ratings.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
It's the Olympics, man, oh man, that that boycotting of
the opening ceremony, yeah yeah, oh yeah, that's going off
without a hitch.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
I see, yeah, all those tweets I saw, I'm not watching.
I'm not watching. You know, let's just make it about
the ass.

Speaker 9 (28:22):
I'm not against boycott in general, but whatever you're boycotting,
the reason should actually exist.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Reason exactly that women's.

Speaker 9 (28:34):
Fighter from al Jerry, she's actually a woman. Can we
stop yelling at her?

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Steve?

Speaker 2 (28:39):
But do you understand the moon is made of cheese?
Brigade has to get their work.

Speaker 10 (28:45):
Well.

Speaker 9 (28:45):
We talked about this on the Saturday Night show After
Yours a couple of weeks ago, about the whole Oh,
I think that was the last supper they were making
fun of and they open it. No, No, it is
the Baccanlia festival, Grease, the Olympics are Greek. The paging
you're talking about, you, it's Italian. This had nothing to
do with you know, there were a bunch of people
at a table. I got that point. And if you

(29:08):
want to say there were other things offensive in a
four hour opening ceremony show, I'm totally with you. But man,
accuracy is just not a priority in this country anymore.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Speaking of cheese in the moon, Martin, only if there
is a moon.

Speaker 9 (29:26):
Like I said, accuracy is just not a priority in
this country anymore.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
See to the people who aren't familiar with Coach Husky
in his belief system. He once had a joke saying,
one guy has two degrees, the other doesn't believe in
the moon.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
And it's the best drop that Tyster has ever made.
I'll let you know, finding Alex. Finding Alex is the
best drop ever made.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Good drop. I love that we were doing a playoff.
The odd couple.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
You know, one went to a college in the cornfields,
the other went to one night league.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Is cool.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
One's got to daughters, the other one spends his time
throwing money.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
At the ball.

Speaker 9 (30:03):
It's so what's funny?

Speaker 8 (30:04):
I remember when that when when we first talked like
it played for the moon like I think it was
obviously YouTube.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
I was there for that too. Came off by my fee.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
One guy's got two degrees, the other one doesn't believe
in the move listeners, I gotta go hold on, I
want to tune in.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Doesn't believe in the moon. There it is. This is
one of my one of my favorite all time moments
with you guys. Hearing that, I thought it was hilarious.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Now Patrick wants to run down his all time favorite
moments since he's given us the boot.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
You hear that? Oh yeah, you know, how about that?
We'll have a top five list of Patrick's. You can't
even name one. Wow, wow, I can name one. Bernard
King's brother Albert King.

Speaker 9 (30:47):
Baby, let's go.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
He's still mad at you for that every time. It's
every time you say Albert King's name. Martin Weiss, just just.

Speaker 9 (31:02):
Answer on your show.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yes, since you know Albert King is you know the
number seventh.

Speaker 9 (31:07):
Questions King brothers? Sure exactly.

Speaker 8 (31:11):
Also, getting Martin on who you got for old and
was probably another of my favorite moments.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
That's pretty cool. I love all his favorite moments involve him. Well,
they probably would. It wasn't like there was some great
compelling radio in the midst.

Speaker 8 (31:28):
I said that was my favorite ever of Getting you
because just your reactions were priceless.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Okay, one has two degrees, the other guy doesn't believe
in the moon.

Speaker 8 (31:41):
One guy hates Albert King when every time he's brought up.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Oh so, Sean McVay is going to not only let
all be pleasant coach the game, which I like, but
he's going to spend some of the time this game
in the broadcast booth our last game against the Rams.
All these preseason, of course, he spent a couple series
with the broadcast headset on providing commentary from this that's

(32:09):
one he's going to be actually in the booth, Like
he's freaking Troy Apeman, like, don't you have Like I
understand the preseason it's not necessarily as relevant as it
was prior to the advent of joint practices and so on,
but there should be some level of as the head coach,

(32:29):
I think you.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
Should be involved.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
No, disagree, because you definitely shouldn't be in the broadcast.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
No, I think that's okay. Let me tell you why.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
If I'm gonna give you the rains, okay, I need
to I need to get out the way. If I'm
gonna give you the rains, I need to get out
of the way. No head coach is gonna go sit
in the locker room. No head coach is gonna be
able to go not be at the stadium. And this
is in you. This is in your blood, this is
in your veins, this is in your soul. This is
in your spine, your heart, your soul, in your brain.

(32:58):
He's gonna be there. I think it's a great idea
to go sit up in the booth. The guy's got
great personality. Okay, he's one of the best postgame sound
bite guys you can get. Okay, he's very precise, he's
very professional. It's a good looking guy. He's probably gonna
go on the TV after he's done coaching. Hey, why
not take a stab at going up in the booth.

(33:19):
I watched the Patriot game. I guess it was last night.
I'm not sure when the game was. I just end
up watching on my DVR. Both McCartney brothers are sitting
up there.

Speaker 6 (33:25):
Now.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
I know they're not darling, they're not current players, but
there's nothing wrong with testing the waters as something that
you might want to do after you're done the main
thing that you're doing. And if I'm giving he's not done,
if I'm giving you the reins for today, and he's
supposed to be watching and evaluated, and what better vantage

(33:48):
point than from the press box, from the booth, from
the press box, from the coaches box. Maybe the better
vantage point that sitting there with the guys calling the game.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
What's your beef with it? It's it's not the job
of the head coach. The head coach, not the head coach.
He's not thead coach though tomorrow is the head coach.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
He's giving the head coaching responsibilities to someone else. But
that doesn't mean that you just don't like, don't show
up in the same way.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
I wouldn't be if it'd be like, all right, so
you remember when you were in grade school and you
will be sitting there and your teacher would come in,
and then the principal will come in and sit in
the back and like evaluate the.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Teacher all the time.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
It sound like the principal said, Okay, we're gonna evaluate
the teacher in this moment, but you know what, I'm
gonna go to the back and have a few my
thighs before I sit in the back of class.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
No, the principal job was.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
The principal job is to be evaluating this person, right
like your job at Sean McVay should be evaluating the team.
And that I think that's not even compare to that
because back in the classroom, because with a teacher, that's
all you have to be. The analogy popped in my
head is this like a dad, right when you push
your son on that bike, I'm still your dad.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
I'm still here, but I'm gonna let you.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Ride all the way down the street and I'm gonna
stand right here.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
I'm not gonna follow you. I'm not gonna get close
if you fall.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
I'm giving you the reins to be your own person
right now and ride a full block, which could probably
be ten houses in a suburban neighborhood in America, and
I'm gonna stand way back here and I'm just gonna
evaluate you.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Mom comes out, oh my god, what are you doing?
Why you so far?

Speaker 3 (35:26):
Because I'm letting him run his own show right now
and I'll be able to evaluate him. And if something happens,
we'll talk about it later after it's done.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
But to be where do you want him to us?
In the coaches box?

Speaker 3 (35:41):
But in the coaches box watching the game with the
quick his coaches still up there.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
But okay, but you don't want to commentate it, Yeah,
he's okay. You don't want him to commentating.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Maurice Jones, Drew and me to comment whoever, I'll know
you don't want to, You know, you don't want to,
like what.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
Are you talking like? Is he supposed to be like? Ooh,
that's a bad block by the right guard right there. Like, no,
he's supposed to be talking with this, He's supposed to
be talking.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
I think that's a little pit, if nothing else, filling
in the job that Arvey Pleasant does on game day
because now there's a whole in your game day operations,
so you can.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
Here we go, that's his job to fill because you're
the coach.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Well, if I'm tell schovi vay, you get your chance
over there and do my job because I have a
job that's relevant to on coach that's still over him. No,
I like this, I do it doesn't. It doesn't bother me.
It's only it's a preseason game. If they's got that personality.
Now we're talking Bill Belichick up there, we're talking Andy
Reid up there.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Those are two guys at depth shown that's not gonna
give you nothing on way more success in the NFL
than Sean McVay has thus far.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Both of those guys two of the top five coach doesn't.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
I think it's kind of cool. When is this game tomorrow?
This happens tomorrow tomorrow are Sunday?

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Okay, I'll check it out. Yeah, I see what he
wants to do. I see what I got to.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Say, not a fan, not a fan of this move
right now, one college man based, starved college fan base
has tricked themselves into this announcement being a.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Good idea, I mean good thing. We're here to break
it down and explain. Somebody, go get grandle.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
Don't nobody want don't nobody want this to happen.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
This sounds great in August, it's gonna sound miserable in October.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
We're breaking down.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Coming up next Martin Wis's Vija Husky And for Jason
Smith and his best friend Mike Carmon, Oh Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
One has two degrees, the other guy doesn't believe in
the moon.

Speaker 6 (37:28):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

Speaker 3 (37:40):
Ones man's trash apparently is another man's treasure.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
You know, Alex, you were talking about flow Rider. How
old were you or how long.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Did it take before you realize that flow Rider the guy.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Who just sung this song that you just played, Yes,
wild Ones, which was a prime staple towards the end
of my college years.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
Yes, how old were you when you.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Realize that flow Rider was just Florida with a convenience space.

Speaker 10 (38:04):
I still didn't know. You're looking at it's Florida. You
just told me it's Florida with they space. In a minute,
I never knew that. Isn't that where he's from?

Speaker 2 (38:11):
If I'm not mistaken, I mean, yeah, but when but
when I notice that that was you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (38:17):
Like now, just now, I've never known that. I knew
that I knew about. I'm just not a floor Rider fan.
I didn't know that was his song. Just now, how
are you not?

Speaker 10 (38:25):
You see this videos he goes against like saying the
moon is it real?

Speaker 1 (38:28):
All this stuff? He's really into a moon guy? God
he is? Love him now? Is he a Will Howard Guy?
Love him now?

Speaker 10 (38:34):
I don't know is he a Will Howard guy? If
he is, I'm saying VJ. Spend an hour look up
some of his videos. Okay, he actually created his own
balloon to go up into like space. It was incredible.
Oh that's the money.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Okay, creating your own balloon to go into space just
seems like they're in the same neighborhood of creating your
own submarine to go see the Titanic.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
That one didn't go so, which I would love to do.
Remember remember last year how that happened to every buddy
I do. That's what I'm saying, Well, I think that
was a cover. By the way, listen, it's quick sidebar.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
When I saw the picture of the sub, guys, you
had to know this was not gonna work.

Speaker 10 (39:10):
I think it was all a cover. By the way,
I love Alex. There's something big there. I'm telling you.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
The big thing there was the Titanic.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Jack Alex Martin is as far as conspiracy or thought
guy that you could find.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
He's not going with any of that stuff. He's not.

Speaker 10 (39:31):
He's just me feeling that the more we get very
pro cleared with technology, you know, we only have seen
four percent of the ocean, right, That's what they're saying.
So there's a lot down there, So what's the way
to scare people from going down there?

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Just saying I mean, also, you just read the headline.
That's scary enough. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
That's kind of like when I read the headline Will
Howard QB one of Ohio State, I think that's scary enough.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
That's true that I'm with you Martin. Remember that's scared.
That's kind of funny to me.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
I means scary about I hear people penciling, ohios Tate.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
Oh, they're gonna win the Big Ten. Will Howard is
QB one. Guys. Now, Michigan's win in the Big Ten.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
Michigan's gonna finish in the top four, and Michigan's gonna
go back to the at least the final four, the
semi finals of the College Football Playoff.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Michigan. This team, Martin, may be better than last year's team.
That is a bold statement considering how many's that last
team left.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
But just go to the pro game. The drama between
the wide receiver and team that will never end.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
We'll get to that coming up next. Martin wis Vija
