Good evening, everybody, good evening, good evening, good evening. VJ Husky,
Arnie spani'er in for the guys, Jason Smith and his
best Fred, Mike Harmon, all right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving out there. We certainly
(00:51):
do appreciate you tuning on in. I know, uh, sometimes
holidays can be difficult for people.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
So if you're alone, you want to go ahead and
tweet at us. It's real simple.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
I haven't given this stuff out enough at Big Vanilla Funny.
I'm a stinking genius one, and you could tell us
where you're listening to us, how you're listening to us,
if you're working on this Thanksgiving was we did talk
about Aaron Andrews earlier at our number one VJ because
she was working on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
But we work all the holidays.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Like you said, you work Thanksgiving Christmas Eve, Chris, But
you know what, we don't work Christmas Eve anymore because
the boss. We run the best of now on Christmas
even nobody has to work. Everybody gets the night off.
So we started doing that the last couple of years.
So the boss didn't want anybody working on Christmas Eve,
(01:47):
so we do the best of it at that point.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
So yeah, the later shows are not running at that point.
Everybody's home with their families and stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
And that's cool. Now.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
When I was in sales, I definitely was working, especially
when I was like in retail, like as a store
manager for Verizon. Yeah, you were at Christmas cy til
about seven whatever time tomorrow. Yeah, yeah, till like seven o'clock,
eight o'clock. It's still get because in their mind, hey,
you still get time to go home and make milk
and cookies and watch and watch National Opools, Cristi Vacation
or bass Stand or one of those awesome Chrystmas l
(02:19):
for something like home alone and sit with the kids
and rap gifts and all of that stuff. You still
got time to do that. You got four hours, but
until eight o'clock you belong to me. And today was
weird because I was, like I said, I was gonna
go to family's house down in LA and I really
wanted to go. I've spent so many things givings over
the last four years alone. Yeah, I'm always by myself
on these holidays and this year and I told him,
(02:40):
I said, I just I honestly just want to be
around some people.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Man, I just want to be in a living room
on a sofa. I still got to be.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
This studio to do the show, but during the early,
earlier part of the day, I really wanted to just
be around some people, bro and eat some food and
talk some trash and watch football and watch my kids
run around with their cousins and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
And then that went.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
South at the last minute, Like I said it, turn
around on the damn highway and go home.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
And sit and wait until it's time to come in. So, uh, yeah,
work is cool.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I like, I like working at night because at least
during the day you can still see your family. Like
Christmas Day, right, you can work earlier in the day,
you can do an early show and still being even
be home by one pm.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
You know, Christmas is done mostly by the atmosphoon and
you're done.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
We're done with right exactly. Christmas is the morning thing anyway.
By ten am, you're picking a wrapping paper with the floor,
trying to figure out why you didn't buy enough batteries
for all the damn.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Toys he bought your kid.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
We who want to know where you're listening to us,
how you're listening to us, and if you're working. As
Aaron Andrews said on this Thanksgiving I bet you if
you're driv an uber tonight, you're probably making a lot
of money tonight VJ. You probably get like extra high
value fares and everybody probably you.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Know, drinking so they don't want to drive out there.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
No oh no ubers and lifts and uh everybody. If
you listen, if there's some money to make the night,
there are people making money, man.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
That that's just the it is.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Convenience stores are open, gas stations are open, right Like,
It's not just people in the entertainment business. There are
people who work during the holidays. They don't know what
it's like. So just like there's people who don't know
what it's like to have a Saturday off.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Right.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
There are people who work every Saturday and maybe they're
off days like Tuesday and Wednesday. They don't know what
it's like, right, you know, Yeah, you don't know what
it's like to have a Saturday off.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
You've worked Saturdays for twenty years. You don't know.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
If you're a bartender, are you working at a club,
are you working at a restaurant?
Speaker 2 (04:27):
How many Saturdays you think you're getting off? You're not right,
and you're working nights too, right, exactly, you're off Tuesdays
and Thursdays. Those are your two days off. We are
in the industry, and I've been in that industry, so
I know it.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
So it's not just holidays, man, everybody just thinks nine
to five money through Friday. No, the world keeps going
and there needs to be people around working period.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
But by the way, real quick, because I said that
you are the best cook, the best used to be
the best chef.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Yes at Fox Sports Radio. By far.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
I know you didn't have a chance to cook everything up,
but usually what is VJ have cooking up for Thanksgiving?
Because I know you could make great side dishes and
you're a big. I don't know if you're a fried
turkey guy or an oven turkey guy or stuffing in
the turkey guy out You told me what is.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
VJ all for three?
Speaker 3 (05:15):
What what's VJ cooking up for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Well, first of all, I grill the turkey every year. Okay, yeah,
grill it man, because that is different. Man, as long
as you brime me, you gotta brie it.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
First.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Got to make sure you brime it at least for
four to six hours, that way it doesn't dry out,
and wrap it and foil, then unwrap it and finish
it off.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Get you know, put the little crisp on it. Let
the flame and the charcoal and the coal was.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Giving Give it that grill. Oh yeah, I's good, Oh yeah,
give it that grill taste. This year was the first
year I ever made a ham. I've never made a
hand before because I was always afraid to because you
can really mess a ham up. I was always afraid
to mess make a hand because you can really mess
a hand up.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
To no man. If you've seen that line, hell no,
hell no, I a man quick sidebar anybody all crazy
as hell?
Speaker 4 (05:59):
You guys are some some some gangsters, people who order
from Honey Baked Ham and go stand in line mad
because you they told you to come at ten. Do
you really think your hand is gonna be ready to ten?
It's like seven hundred people. I'm like, oh my god,
y'all some gangsters.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Man. I would never never do that. So in the
Boston markets.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
No, no, no, no, I'm not ordering the turkey from anywhere.
That's just that's lazy to me. Collar green is always
on the side, man, But mac and cheese. And this
is my second straight year of making dressing. I was
always afraid of making you call it dressing, guy called
stuff because no, no, it's just two different things. Dressing, Okay,
Southern corn bread dressing is different than stuffing. Stuffing is
(06:41):
pieces of bread. Corn Bread dressing is corn bread baked
and you let it cool down and then you crumble
it up, and then you add in all your your
you know, your regular, your time, your sage. I like
a little offspice in mine, a little kanyene pepper to
give it a little little brown sugar, so the sweetness
comes and cools the kickoff when you're eating it.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Celery dicelery and sonion. Is this nice carlet?
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Boom.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Some you get some some chicken broth or some vegete
broth going on it. Throw some egg in it so
that as a.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Dry out cover foil. See that's how you do.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
See.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
My wife went to the market.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
She was she was gonna make me something, but she
didn't have time, so she just bought me, like, oh,
I have to do stick to the Leverridge Farm. Yeah,
something like that. And I ate the whole thing that
I got sick. I'm like, I can't eat like I
go like, I like stuff thing, but I like when
it's homemade. It was just it wasn't good. It was
making me sick. And I was thinking to you, I'm like,
(07:31):
I bet your Vjy's eating.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
Yeah, my corn bread stuff. It came out great this
year man. And then uh, you know cranberry. I'm a
big cranberry sauce guy. You are big cranberry. It's the
only day of year I eat it. I don't eat
cranberry sauce any other time of the year at all,
other than about a three day period during days Giving.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
I don't have it any other time of the year.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
It goes great on your fork with a piece of
turkey and a little scoop of stuff in and you
put a little piece of cranberry sauce on the top
of it. Eat that to get man, you eat that together.
Don't don't have a little chicken gravy dripping off of
it too. If you got that going, you are going
to be como tost all my sofa if you come
over to my crib.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Man.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
So you know, yams, you gotta you gotta do all
that good stuff. Man, it's the same food, but once again,
cook it with love. And it's more about being around
your peoples that you don't see all the time. You
know who cares about the food? Man, it's your cousin
you ain't seen in a minute, or your auntie you
ain't seen in a minute.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Are you know? A homeboy?
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Hit you up in town? Till him come through and
grabble play y'all sit around and have a shot in tequila,
watch the game. You know what I'm saying reminists a
little bit Holidays to me, it's less and less as
you get older. And I think you'll agree it's and
less about the food as you get older.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
It's more about the people, right, No one.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
D percent and some people, like I said, are working.
Some people don't have families. Some people like Colin.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Tweeted and said, hey he's a bachelor at homeless.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Thing on. iHeart from a grand Prairie Alberta. I may
be Canadian by they celebrate Thanksgiving like an American. One
of the best weekends of the football season. There's no
doubt about that. It has been an absolutely tremendous the States.
It's gonna be a tremendous weekend. I think Cincinnati just
got the field goal. Let me double check. It was
(09:07):
twenty six fourteen, now twenty nine to fourteen in favor
of the Bengals. Big turnover by Lamar Jackson right on cue.
Just like I said, you want to apologize real quick,
jan you just want to stick with that because the
ball it was a tip ball.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
It was that was bad luck. It was a tip ball.
It was a great play.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
How about this, how about we just give credit to
the defender who followed his keys and when you see
a quarterback about to throw you put your hands up
and leap, you just go straight up and try to
block it. How about we just give him credit for
sticking to his keys. Stick It was fundamentals and making
a play and the defensive back could have dropped it.
You know, he did his job. Man, I can't put
that one all omar. It just looks bad because now
(09:49):
they're able to go down the field get another field
goal out of it. So now you're down fifteen. So
now you need a touchdown and another time you need
two touchdowns and one two point conversion.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
They even make this thing interesting.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
You know, you're at home, you're losing to a team
that's three and eight, and I know Joe Burrow's come back,
but I mean, did you you know, did you really think.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
He was gonna be sharp?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
He's already thrown the ball like forty five times. Who
would have thought in his game back he'd be slinging it.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
Up there like that?
Speaker 3 (10:14):
And now the Bengals put up the twenty nine points,
the defense come alive. You have to wonder where Cincinnati
would be had not Joe Burrow got injured at the
beginning of the season.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
Yeah, but that's the That's the biggest what if about
the Bengals is it always seems to revolve around you
gotta wonder, man, if Joe Burrow was around, because now
this is his third year of missing significant time with
an injury, and he's twenty three or forty six, two
fifty eight two touches. He's only been sacked one, so
they can't get to him right and they've only run
(10:42):
the ball twenty three times, so they basically have said,
hey man, go get this one for us. They Chase
Brown eleven carries forty yards, no touchdown. His long yards
run so night to night so far as twelve yards.
So the coaching staff basically went to Borrow. Oh Burrow,
who seems to be quite the alphas, like, hey man,
put the ball in my hand to night. I'm back, like,
put the ball in my hand tonight. Let me go
get this one for you guys. And listen, if they
run the table and finish at nine and eight in
(11:04):
Baltimore and Pittsburgh have the bottom fallout and finish at
eight to nine, and they somehow do come back and
win this division, how dangerous would that team be going
into the playoff. They would have to go on or
they have a home game because they would win the division,
so they'd have a home wild card game. You don't
want to go in there and play them, and Burrow
would be on a roll at that point. That's a
(11:25):
long way away. That's six wins from now. But you
look at Burrow back tonight and you say, hey, you
have to think where would they be if he'd have
been there. I think it's to say, well, he's there now,
so maybe we could talk about what can they do
now that he's back. Chase the night two seven, four, one, ten.
You know, don't agree with what happened and what he did,
but fourteen targets. So Joe Burrow knows who throw the
(11:46):
ball to tonight. I didn't think he'd come back, and
look this sharp. I didn't think he'd come back until
the ball forty five times and you're right, there's no
way they would be three to eight had Joe.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Burrow been around. Yeah, I forgot it was what in
week two's that would have happened. Yeah, very early in
the year.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
I mean that was crazy.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
He hasn't played in like nine weeks, ten weeks, and
look we're in the position they're in right now. You know,
I might not even have brought them back because I
don't think they're gonna be able to make the play.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Well, here's the thing to already look at some of
their games, right, they should have beat New England and
also that game twenty six to twenty that was a loss.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Forty seven forty two to Chicago. Right, they're in.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
They're in that game thirty nine to thirty eight to
them bum ass Jets. Like they they've been in these games, man,
they they've been thirty seven to twenty four.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Remember they were in that game.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
No, no, I'm sorry, No, they got blown out of
that game against Detroit. But these other games that I mentioned,
they're they're in these games, you know what I'm saying,
Like they're they're in these games. They have a chance
to win with Uncle Flacco back there. They have to
being traded from Cleveland, so they've.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Had a shot.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
They could easily be five and six right now. They
don't have to be where they are. But when you
don't have your quarterback, you're gonna lose some of those games.
The Patriot game was just like Wow, Patriots would just
diming in the second half. They just couldn't score at all.
Their defense did their job in the second half and
held a pag just to like one touchdown I believe,
(13:06):
in the second half of that game.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Still two score game though, twenty nine to fourteen. About
nine minutes under nine minutes left. Now we'll see if
Baltimore can go ahead and pull'll pull back to the
comeback and see if they're gonna tie this thing up
or maybe go for two points each time. We'll see
how that works out. Now, you watched the Kansas City
Dallas game?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Ye? I watched the Kansas City Dallas game.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Did forty nine million, nine hundred and ninety nine hundred
and ninety eight million people? Other people did because they
were saying fifty million people, which would break a record
for a regular season NFL game.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
I believe it could possibly tune in now they did have.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
It was a fourteen to seven game at the end
of the first three point game at half times seventeen
fourteen in favor of the Cowboys, twenty five points scored
in the fourth quarter, one score game going into the
fourth quarter. All that is a recipe for people to
stay through, stay tuned the whole entire game, especially with
(14:04):
all the scoring in the fourth quarter. They may come
close to get that fifty million. That'd be absolutely incredible.
Just goes to show you, now, football Thanksgivings all about
Turkey and football. That'd be crazy if they got fifty
million VJ. Unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Yeah, I heard that.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
I think this It would give a CBS a seven
percent spike too, as far as far as the biggest
game that they've ever they've ever had, So I would
love to see where that number is. It probably will
hit it about forty to forty five. If I see
fifty out, that'll be. But you are talking to Cowboys.
It's Thanksgiving, it's the it's the middle game.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
It was close. It was Oh, it was a great
football game. It was a good fourth quarter. Everything. That's
if it's a blowout, people tune on out.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
If it was like twenty one nothing in the Cowboy
Philadelphia game like it was. Even though they came back,
still some people tuned out. You didn't tune out of
this one.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
It was closing the entire way. Hey listen, you said
it earlier. You think Kansas City's done. So this essentially
today for both teams. Dallas is in favorite because they
got that one under the tee. Right, there's a five
a five, and that one that one could help with
tie breakers down the line, how things shake up, especially
if they were to go on a run and something
was to happen, let's say against Green Bay. Who oh yeah,
(15:21):
that's right. Forty to forty two. Was it Monday night
or Sunday night football? Those guys tired. So you definitely
can see the intensity today. You could see the lock
in I mean everybody. And there were no cheap shots
that it was hard played football. It was that was
grown ass men against another set of grown ass men
out there playing very official. You didn't see a lot
(15:42):
a lot of mistakes. You didn't see a lot of carelessness.
My boy drop Seas is still dropping balls, though I've
been saying that for Cincey got to the NFL. I'm
gonna keep calling them drop Seas until he doesn't have
five six, seven drops the season like he does going
into every by this time every season. But he stepped
up and made some places and he listen, let's get
some some props to Pickens.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Let's get some props to that absolute.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Let's do one's talking about how he has now revived
his career. Dallas is gonna pay him in the off season.
They have no choice but to pay him. But sometimes aren't.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Happy, or Dak Prescott or or a CD lamb. You
tell me, Dak Prescott got to be pretty happy to
about it, lamb, lamb.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
He doesn't strike me as a team guy.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Hold on, I'm not sure Pickens is the one. B Yeah,
maybe right about that, I'm not sure. I'm why see
why you right? Right? Why CD? Why CD? One?
Speaker 4 (16:42):
Like listen if this off season there was a decision
to be made there and so when asked me, yeah,
get trade Pickens or said tray City, tray City, Pickens
just seems more locked in. He just seems like this
is he knows this will his second chance and it
might be his last. Remember, NFL stands for what would
(17:03):
Jerry Glanville tell that one official NFL films A NFL
films back in the day stands for not for long,
when you're when you're when you're doing bleep like that.
And Pickings knows when he got traded out of Pittsburgh
this was gonna be his shot. And to me, he
has done nothing but stand up and stand tall. And
every time Dak needs a big, big throw, big throws,
(17:25):
yeah CD.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
But when they just need like a big, big play,
Pickens has.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
A better catch radius, so you could just get just
get it in his area and let big boy go
do what big boys do.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
They catch balls for a living No. And you know,
like you mentioned earlier, now were number one.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
We were laughing when they traded Micah, nobody's.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Laughing now, right A.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
I whether would they have been in a better position
had they kept Parsons or really wouldn't have made a
difference at all?
Speaker 2 (17:48):
What do you think? Well, I do have to stand
on my word.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
I thought a year and a half ago I said
on Fox Sports Radio I would have signed Parsons before
I signed CD and if they didn't sign Parson, since
I made a prediction that Parsons is gonna win out
on the trade, and that's exactly what happened. I set
it on it. And he's put good today, by the way, right, No,
he listened. He's bawling in Green Bays. Let's stop that.
He's he's fit, right it. It took a little bit.
(18:12):
Remember when he first got there, he was getting to
the quarterback, but he couldn't really finish the sacks, like
he couldn't just finish the plays.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
I think he was overdoing it, man.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
I think he wanted to show the world, show people
know I'm still that guy. I'm still Michael Parsons. They
gave him the deal, They gave his money, so he's
solidified there. Right, He's gonna be there the next four
or five years. He's not going anywhere. But once he
kind of got settled in it, he is wrecking shopping.
It's almost like watching Hutcheson play for the lines every down.
That guy's doing something to disrupt what your offensive scheme
(18:44):
is for this play. So I think it worked out
for both. So I'm not gonna I'm gonna not gonna
be smirched either side. But I still would have paid
Micah first before I played CD.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Jerry, I think took that personally too with Micah, you
know what I mean. I think they both let me.
I think they both took a picture, both of them.
Matter of fact, there was a rumor, I don't know
if it's a true story that Micah called Jerry personally
before it was supposed to be finalized for him to
go to Green Bay and he heard it was green Bay,
and Jerry said, I forget the way he phrased it,
(19:16):
but Jerry said that then you better go to green Bay, right,
and he went to Green Bay.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
There's a lot of egos and pro sports.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
These are grown men, all rich, all want to be
alpha all want to be the man.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yeah, you got some team guys and egos or just
what you want deserves you know you want to be.
I know, let's let's just be roll about life.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
Man.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
They're just is egos.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Not saying it's a bad thing, but listen, you better
have a little bit of a damn ego if you're
a pro athlete. Bro, you can't everybody can't be the
quiet guard or the quiet center.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Right.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Sometimes you gotta the oil. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.
Like that's serious, bro, Like I'm Michael Parsons, I change games.
Pay me like that. It's as simple as that. And
this is a short shelf life for n a F players.
I'm never be smurged any NFL player for saying, give
me what I've earned or give I'm up next. I
say this about quarterbacks all the time. I don't want
(20:08):
to hear Alwa's number one. He's never I don't care.
That's not how this goes. Who's next? Okay, He's gonna
get paid, whether it was Party, whether it was Tool,
whether it was Herbert, whether it was Burrow, whether it
was Herts. I kept They're all gonna get paid. That's
making sixty. You didn't have a choice, right, right, you
didn't have a choice.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
He's up next. I never did be smurgs guys for
getting their brand.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
Look, it's not a great football schedule on Sunday, but
there is a quarterback we have to talk about where
contractual obligated to talk about him. That's coming up next.
J Husky Ardispad. You're in for the guys like.

VJ Husky, Arnie Span You're in from the guys tonight.
Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon Bengals just
turned the ball over. Ravens are gonna get it. Still
a little bit of life left in them. They trailed
twenty nine to fourteen, though, five oh one left and
Marty one, so we're see if they get the miracle.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Yes, VJ Alredy real fast Hot? Is this not one
of the coolest eighty songs of all time? Bro?
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Hungry like the wallf Duran, Duran, Dude? Do you remember Duran?
The hairstyles I love?
Speaker 4 (22:07):
I could never hear this song without the Andy Dick
scene from Old School?
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Do you guys remember that?
Speaker 7 (22:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (22:14):
You remember the eighty Dick see from Old the Will
Ferrell movie Old School.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
I can never hear this song without thinking about that
scene in that damn movie. Man.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
It just goes to show you, seriously that the music
that was made back in what the seventies and eighties
still still is alive today.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
It's still blends in today, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (22:32):
Best TV movies, commercials, food, everything, seventies and eighties.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
It's you know, it's crazy when I go through it.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
I'm watching you know, TikTok videos or videos that come up,
and they always go, do you wish you were back
living in the seventies and eighties? We rode bikes and
you know, stayed out till the lights came on, and
you know, just all kinds of stuff, And.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Yeah, it was a different it was.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
And it's funny because people it was a different time. No,
actually it wasn't. We just have way more distractions nowadays.
Now we keep us from just living more pure. Like
you said, kids riding their bikes, well they all got
tablets and Nintendo switches and PlayStation fives and cell phones.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Is like, they have distractions. They keep them from saying hey.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
In order for me to know if Jonathan is home,
I have to actually get on my bike and ride
to Jonathan's house and not on his front door to
see if Jonathan's home. Now you can just lay on
the sofa and text, you.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
Know, wyd what are you doing? Like where are you at?
Speaker 4 (23:34):
Like it's you know, it's it's the same time, and
we just have way more distractions.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Look at the games they have now to me, Rock'm
Socking Robots was a new game out good way. Remember
electric football. Yeah, of course, just going to a circle.
But you could never play that game and we're just
going to a circle.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
No, No, you had you had to adjust the dial.
Remember they had the little dial on the bottom which
made them go a different than yeah, no play.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
You used to have to paint the uniforms on them,
put the sticker decals on the helmets.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Everybody every yes, everybody football. I mean that was and
that was a lot of money back then.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
VJ.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
I think, yeah it was.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
Man, you better and get that loud ass game soon
as you cut on, sure.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
That's the loud ass game.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
And the sports game had I mean the basketball game
where you had the little holes on the court and
if the ping pong ball hold you know what I'm
talking about what it was called.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
It had the little flick. It had the little flick
lever on it. Man, where you can that's how you
used to shoot the ball. You had to flick. You
had to flick it.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
As the electronics we had was the mattel where you
would do the side by the you know, huge stay
on one side.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
We had the head. Yeah, I had the head. They
had baseball and football yeah, I mean the little digital
ball moving on the screen.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
Otherwise, we had the original Pong that started all yeah, Pong, Frogger,
Donkey Kong, all that stuff. Man, that was like three
hundred bucks for the original part. I'm not kidding a
lot of money. Yeah, well I was a.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Paid for it back then.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
I had no idea it was I just I just
wrote it all my Christmas And I still remember my
first NINTENTD like the Christmas I got my first Nintendo
Like my first Nintendo three games was Duck Hunt, Super
Mario Brothers Pro Wrestling. And then when I got my allowance,
like a month later, I went and brought my Tyson's
punch Out. And I still played Tyson's Punch Out to
this day.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
See, when I was younger, it wasn't really about the games.
We just mostly played board games, you know, Scrabble or
Monopoly and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
It was all about you still play Scrabble?
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Oh, absolutely know, I'll still play. Who doesn't love those games?
Speaker 2 (25:44):
You know? Not me? I don't. I don't.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Every time I go to Denny's, I hop it's like
seven senior citizens in the back playing scrabble.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
I wasn't. I haven't gotten to that point yet.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
You're not at that point when I'm still ordering the
Grand Slam and eating pay my taben going.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
On when you're when you start playing Majong, I think
is what it is. I don't know if you ever
heard of that game. Oh my, that's for the old people.
If you playing, it's like it's like Dominoes, but.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
To the next level.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
It's I can't even I can't even explain it to you.
I don't don't even know how it's playing. It's with tiles,
and it's a lot like Dominoes. It's it's absolutely crazy,
but it's a lot of fun. I want to get
to that quarterback story that I was teasing. That means
I want to.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Talk about gendering standards. We'll get to that, but first
let's check it with Martin.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
See what's going on with the late game between Cincinnati
and Baltimore. Let's see what's treading. What's going on out
there Martin wise, it's probably having some turkeys. What he's
doing already. There's a bunch of cafe. Yeah, the pizza
is all going. The pizzas are ninez like nine pizzas
in here who came by here today? The Ninja Turtles.
Speaker 7 (26:56):
It's been a turnover, fill a fourth quarter fellas, We've
uh look, how did this break down? The Bengals got
the ball back on a Jay Flowers fumble after that,
VJ shaking his head.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
You know that's my guy. You remember my prediction life
two years ago. Yeah, bro, listen, you know me, you bro,
you know me. I stand on it and I'm wrong. Yeah,
he's got it though, right, he does have it, It's
just he can't put it together for some reason.
Speaker 7 (27:24):
VJ famously back in another radio life for the bost
of this already to let you in on the story.
One day, Full stopped everything and was like, Jay Flowers
is the next Tyreek Hill? Sure this is I think
it was a Jay Flowers rookie year.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
I think a good rookie year, and it was very
comparable number wise impact to Tyreek. And I'm looking at
this kid, I'm like, man, he's explosive. The league is
gonna need another Tyreek.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
This is him? No, it wasn't.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
Now Alnie, I will also say this, I'm sorry to
completely hijack this, just so you know.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
To score a game Cincinnati's they're gonna win.
Speaker 7 (28:01):
I'll keep everybody with all the actual actual of it
in a minute. But there's a big game tomorrow. Sorry,
this Saturday, I should say, with Michigan.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
And Ohio State. Get me started. No, actually already, if you.
Speaker 7 (28:14):
Don't mind, I'd like to get VJ started for about
for about thirty seconds to a minute.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
I need the big vanilla take on the game.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Charon Moore is a better coach than Ryan Day. Is
a better coach to Ryan Day. They have the youngest team.
We have the youngest team in the Big Ten. We
have two role losses with a freshman quarterback. I was
at the SC Michigan game here covering the game. We
lose our star running back in the first quarter. I
talked to Jordan Marshall and they faced the face and
saw how hurting upset he was.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Oklahoma, we see how good they are.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
They just went to Tuscaloose and beat Alabama twenty to eighteen.
It's called me close. It's gonna be a dog. It
always says it's gonna be a fistfight. We do have
some young players that we're missing a tackle. But Bryce Underwood, Yo.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
This is it.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
Watch watch man, it's been brought and you know, Mark,
you you're an alumni, you know how they work there.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Bro.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
They've not shown We've not shown our hand. We've been
able to do what we do, beat people up front
and move other grown men against their own will and
run the ball down. We have four one hundred yard
different rushes this year. By the way, if your quick
at home, boy.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
I was gonna save this for Dick Hour, but since
you brought this up, first thing that comes to your mind.
Who will be a better quarterback in the NFL? Underwood
or arch Manning? Underwoods?
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Underwood, It's not close, It's not aren't just supposed to
come out this year.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
He can't come out this year. That I know that.
I'm just saying when they get to the NFL.
Speaker 7 (29:37):
But you know what the difference between arch Manning and
Bryce under with a super hypes freshman who get paid
millions outs to play football actually play at Michigan. I'm sorry, Arni,
you just quickly, if I may go ahead, Yeah, Michigan
can run the ball. They'll win this game. If Michigan
can run the ball and really force Ohio State to
run the ball. That's how that's why they can the
last three seasons they played two high safeties and they
(29:59):
say I date on the ball. They had two first
I forget with two second round running backs last year
Quinn Schawn Judkins, Traveon Henderson didn't matter. Okay, if they can,
if they can keep Jeremiah Smith off the boards, Cardinal
Tate off the boards, just like they kept the Mecca
Abuka off the board last year at Chris and Marvin
Harrison Junior. In years past, this I think will be
(30:19):
a full score game. If it's a one score game.
I like Michigan's chances. Absolutely, they're definitely covering. I saw
the spreading like plus ten points or something like that.
Hartman is like, they're gonna blow himut VJ listen, man.
It comes down to, like I just.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Said, Sharon Moore is a better coach than Ryan day
is show with you, but he's gonna show it again.
Beat him last year. He did beat him last year
in his own bill and holding his offense to ten points.
Speaker 7 (30:45):
All right, let's update this final final Thanksgiving night game
and I'll let you guys get back to doing your show.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Arnie, you're a gracious host. Thank you very much.
Speaker 7 (30:52):
The Cincinnati Bengals with a twenty four to fourteen lead
over the Baltimore Ravens just under the two minute warning.
Cincinnati's got the ball. Cincinnati with twenty I'm sorry seventeen
second half points. Joe Burrow in his first game back
from injury, twenty four forty six, two sixty one, two touchdowns,
one to Andre I've said this a million times today.
(31:15):
I don't even know I even went there. I Shaye Trott,
its now, it's in my head. Jong Havas, Joshavas, I've
studied a million times. I know his name, and I
got all side packed. Yoshavas all right, that's his only
catch today. And Tanner Hudson his only catch today also
was a touchdown. Jamar Chase and his first game back
from suspension after spitting on Jason Jalen Ramsey. Seven catches
(31:37):
one to ten through the air. Both touchdowns for Baltimore
have been rushing. Derreck Henry He's got ten, Characster sixty yards.
Keaton Mitchell he had the other rushing touchdown. Lamar Jackson's
got a touchdown pass. He looks like he will not
get one today. They said on the broadcast, this is
the first time in his career. He is going three
straight games without a touchdown pass. Wow, that is just
(31:59):
remarkable to stay not only just probably the extent of
his injuries, but also the extent of amazing he has
put on tape so far as an NFL football player.
Cowboys beat the Chiefs thirty one to twenty eight. Thatak
had two touchdowns. Patrick Mahomes had four second half offense
for Kansas City. Was out there fourteen fourth quarter points
not enough to get the job done. And the Eagles,
(32:21):
I'm sorry. The Packers beat the Lions thirty one to
twenty four.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
Packers go to eight three and one.
Speaker 7 (32:28):
Jordan Love also had four touchdowns passes that ties a
career high for him. Dontavian Wis caught two of them.
Back to you guys, all right, thank you Martin of course.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
VJ.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Husky, Arnie Spaniard for Jason Smith and his best friend
Mike Harmon. Speaking about young quarterbacks. So I want to
get to Shador. He's the starter now in Cleveland. Won
the first game last week against Las Vegas. I was
on with Chris Plank on Sunday and I said, you know, Chris,
I guess I could have give him a B plus.
Chris goes, did you watch the whole game? I go, Chris,
(32:57):
did anybody watch the whole game? I watch Red Zone,
so you know, bouncing around and you know, catching different games.
He watched it because he's a Raider fan. I gave
him a B plus. He goes, don't you probably just
saw the highlights about how Grady looked? He goes, he
wasn't that good. He's not an NFL quarterback. Where do
(33:18):
you stand? First of all, he deserves to be the starter.
Dylan Gabriel got hurt, he won the game. He deserves
to be.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
The starter against San Francisco this Sunday. Of course, he
deserves to be the starter.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
Like, I'm trying to figure out what took so long,
but we all know what this is. We had Eric Dickerson,
who's you know, I know, I know I've been on
he was on my podcast on my show before I
got over Fox Sports Radio. When I was on, iHeart
like I have a relation, Like I know Eric Dickerson.
We got him the call in on to Hartman and
Husky on one Sunday and just take his opinion about
it because the TMZ video had hit when he was
(33:50):
at Lax and what he has said about it. The
thing we should do is just simply this. I get
people not liking certain athletes. I don't like Josh Allen,
don't like Lebron James. I don't have a problem saying it, though.
What I don't like and what I can't ever get with,
is people that try to make excuses and hide why
they don't like somebody. And it's because people didn't like
his dad. It's because he's so called arrogant or Braggadoch's
(34:13):
But you know, Jackson Dark he can wear chains, and
he can flex, and he can show off and he
can do all those things.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Baker Mayfield, he was in college.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
Johnny Manzie like there are people that are allowed to
do it in his confidence. He's a look at he's
a gamer. JJ McCarthy's my guy. Jaj McCarthy gets he
he has a very arrogant side to him, but it
gets called something different. All Shador needs to keep doing
Man is just doing what God's plan is that. I mean,
it's as simple as that. I'm a fan of Shador.
I'm a fan of Coach Prime, and to watch Coach Prime.
(34:38):
I'm a dad. I got a son, You got a son.
I take myself away from all the other crap, and
I'm watching a dad who the Raiders actually gave them
a booth, like they gave them a VIP suite visiting
teams normally don't do that for away teams.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
You gotta buy that booth. Now, people say, well it's done.
That don't matter. They could have charged them. He got
the money to pay for it. It wouldn't have broke his pockets.
They usually do. John Stet's I'm surpris right, charge it right.
But because he he's he's a lightning.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Rod man, he has air, he has a swag about him,
he's got a character about him.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
He does need to grow up. But he's only twenty
eight three years old.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
So then so then why are we telling him he's
got to grow up? Then would we, like anybody judges
because he's the starting quarterback. Hear me out, we all
know he's got to grow up. Why we gotta say
we all got to grow up at twenty three? So
why do we have to say We don't say Jackson
Dart's got to grow up. We don't say that that
Drake May's got to grow Why because they don't have
his swag, they don't have his personality, they don't have
(35:33):
to grow up.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
No, we don't know everything that they do.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
All that aside, he played okay, listen man, he played okay.
He got the dub. That's the thing is he got
the dub. The first rookie Browns quarterbacks is nineteen ninety five.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Got the dub. Now, if he'd a lost, then you
got something to stand on.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
But football man Rob Parker says it all the time,
and some times I ain't gonna like it's try of
hearing it, but he's right. It's one of the most
basic right things. He says, sports has a short menu,
right walls laws is how good can he be?
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Matter of fact, I'm gonna ask you that when we
get back a short time, how good Ken should do
or be?
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Well, that's coming up next, of course. VJ. Husky, Arnie Span,
you're in for the guys.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Jason Smith and his best fread Mike Carmon right here
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific. All Right, good evening, everyone. VJ.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Husky Arnie Span you're in for the boys. Jason Smith
and his best friend Mike Carmon. Hope everybody had a
great Thanksgiving out there. Boy two hours just flying on
by VJ. I wanted to get back to Shador. How
do you think he'll do against San Francisco? And do
you think we unfairly criticize him too much? He said,
(36:48):
we don't tell the other quarterbacks that they have to
grow up. But I remember saying the same thing about
people like Johnny Manzel and stuff like that. So I
don't think this is a race issue, but I'm not sure.
I gave him a B plus after the Las Vegas
game because I thought he was pretty good. Chris Plank
(37:08):
thought that was way too eive a grade. He gave
him like a C or D on the afternoon.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Yeah, surprise, surprise. I'm not going to grade it. He
got to win. How about that.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
I'll just say that he wanted a gag, and that's
the most important thing is that he won the game.
That team had won a game in over a month.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
I've waited.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
I think our our board up ol Alex were you
at the game that.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
You went to the game, Yeah, you went to the game.
You were there. Yeah, I was there. I was I
didn't know that you were there.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
It was the first game where Browns fans had the
lead and they're like, we're winning this game, right, you
know what I mean. Like there's been times where the
Browns have had the lead, but Dylan Gabriel was in
the back, so it was like we kind of knew.
It was like, oh, we like we're probably gonna lose
this game. And this was the first time where like
people were like, oh my god, like we're gonna win. Yeah,
Shador had one towing touchdown, which like, honestly, it wasn't
(37:54):
because of him, it was because Samson broke away for
seventy yards. But what I like about him is he's
going out there and he he has nothing to lose,
and Dylan Gabriel had the position to lose, so it's
almost like he was playing safe. And you could see
that with every checkdown, every quick pass, like there wasn't
a I don't think Dylan Gabriel threw for more than
(38:14):
a thirty yard past the entire time.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
Did it in his first game, so seeing the longest
pass is for the Browns this year. We were in
that game about your door powers exactly. So I was
like guessing that I didn't even look it up. So
seeing that made me really happy and seeing the fans
just kind of being like, oh, we have we have
a chance, right we have. He brings that factor. Now
here's the thing just to analyze them on an honest level.
Does he have work to do?
Speaker 2 (38:36):
A course?
Speaker 4 (38:38):
He's not a good quarters he's an I'm not gonna
say that he's got a ton he's got a ton
of talent, he's got the want, he's got the pedigree.
But you Tom Brady that he referencing this because it
was just so smart. He was on Colin and Colin
talked about by year two Thanksgiving you should know and
he goes, yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
But you're assuming everyone knows how to develop a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
And it was one of the first times I heard
calling it like nothing to say because this is the
goat telling you this, right, this is the goat telling you.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
How long does it take the developer quarter? It depends
on where you are, it depends on what your coach.
Trevor part around. Now it's five years.
Speaker 4 (39:13):
Trevor Lawrence has had three head coaches and one year
was just a cluster, you know what, and just a
last year.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
And I'm not out on him, but I'm not. I'm
still giving.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
They're seven and four, right, They're gonna go to the
playoffs this year possibly, And that's what you want out
of your quarterback. You want your quarterback to go to
the playoffs, win a playoff game, beat the rivals, win
a division. This is this is the list that we've
put together as fans and people on TV radio. We
put this list together so when people accomplish it, we
can't give the variables. Well they only one could no,
they want a division, we can say, oh, well, the
(39:40):
Patrio's only won the AFC East because the Buffalo had no, no, no, no, no,
no no. They have a second year quarterback, they have
the first year coach. There, no, they went and they won. Okay,
it is what it is on the field. Like Bill Parsons,
just say, your record is what it is. You are
what your record says. You are back to sha door.
He's got a ton of work to do. I get it.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
But let's let's get the kid a chance and let's
get them.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Want him out of Cleveland. I want him out of
Cleveland because no one's going baker man, Look what Stefanski did.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
The baker. Baker got worse on the Stefanski. How's Baker?
Looking at How's Baker?
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Now?
Speaker 2 (40:09):
They could be worse. We could send them to the Jets.
Speaker 4 (40:11):
Like, hey give him Aaron Glynny.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Wait, wait, alright, two hours are in the book. Short halftime?
What does everybody catch their breath? We got a lot
to get to show is just flying on bike?
Speaker 2 (40:23):
VJ.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
Husky Already span your in for the guy's ear on
Fox Sports or radio
