picks of Big NFL games on Sunday, a little bit
more on the stunning upset we just watched in college
(01:12):
football Virginia in overtime beats Florida State forty six thirty eight.
It looks like Florida State throws what could be the
game tying touchdown, but the ball is bobbled all the
way through the end zone and out of the end zone,
so what could have been a game tying score potentially
is wiped off the board. On fourth down, Thomas Castellanos
(01:33):
has passed a deep pass to left by Castanos is
intercepted and Virginia comes away with the victory. Fans run
on the field right away. As we said, I'm pretty
sure a fan ran by Castallino stop gained the double
burden kept running. But in in theory, this sounds like
this is a bad deal for the ACC. Right, here's
(01:54):
one of your big schools that goes down to defeat
Florida State was number eight in the country. Yeah, but
you know what, you're looking to try to stay relevant.
We got in this a little bit the beginning of
the show, and look, the ACC clearly went from hey,
we're one of the big three conferences in the country
along with the big ten in the in the SEC SEC. Right,
(02:16):
we're one of the three big ones. Yeah, we watched
the PAC twelvefold, but that's okay, we're right there, we're
and now where's the ACC. They're hoping to just continue
to be a conference in the next few years because
the Big Ten and the SEC have rolled past them,
and they're hoping, Okay, now we're the number three conference.
We're holding onto that. But really does that matter? I
know this lost kind of things because it's you know,
(02:38):
there's three ACC teams in the top twenty five. But
you want again, you want to stay relevant, you want
a big seat at the table as college football continues
to evolve, and the best thing you need to show
is that your conference is good.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Right.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
We don't talk about hey, the Big Yes, the Big
Ten is carried by Ohio State and Michigan and Penn State. Yes,
the SEC is carried by Alabama and LSU. I understand.
But when you talk about the conference, it's the depth.
It's years of teams like Tennessee suddenly, Hey, wait a minute,
now we become a top twenty five team, right, Indiana way,
butN now we become a top twenty five team. You
(03:11):
need to have that kind of it. You need to
be that. You need to be a conference that shows, hey,
teams in the middle of the pack. They can be
top twenty five teams too. They can go to the playoff.
We can send three teams to the playoff here, not
just one and maybe a second. So not the worst
thing that Virginia goes to four and one and shows that, Hey,
guess what, Virginia's pretty good. Syracuse is pretty good, right,
(03:33):
Duke is pretty good. You have the Miami at number two,
and clearly Miami is one of the top schools in
all of college football. And Carson Beck has been terrific
so far. Louisville is undefeated. Ye, you have a lot
of teams there that middle of the pack can show you. Yeah,
just because Clemson stinks and that era is over and
Clemson for Dabbo, you know, he got tired of winning.
(03:54):
It's it's it's okay for us. We're gonna be just
fine because well, we'll continue to roll up with teams
like North Carolina State. Maybe you know, maybe they'll they
lost last week to Duke, but maybe North Carolina is
going to wind up being good at some point with Belichick.
So the actually the silver lining here this is that
Virginia wins and this just continues to show the strength
(04:15):
of the ACC because they want to stay around. They
don't want to watch the Big ten in the SEC
say hey, we're gonna be our own conference from now on,
So goodbye, everybody, see you. Good luck. Hey, acc you'll
be the favorites now you can at least you will
be the favorites to win the second tier national championship
and whatever playoff, crazy ass playoff you guys want to run.
It's gonna be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network and
maybe on the CW on Saturdays. Yeah, good luck there.
(04:37):
So this is they need to show that, hey, we
are a strong conference, and it's a bit it's a
big night for them to show. Hey, the the teams
outside of the up of the upper echelon the elite
can show we can compete with the other teams in
the Big Ten and the Southeastern Conference.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
Little cannibalization is good, show depth of the conference, and
then you sell those big wins. Uh, just a little
bit more right, right, You got a curiosity in Georgia Tech.
They're four to zero and their schedule until the season
ending game against Georgia is they don't have a ranked
(05:14):
team against them, So all of a sudden, it's gonna
be the how good are they don't know, but they
might be undefeated when they go to play Georgia at
the end of November. So you've got that rolling through
for you as well, to try to to push narratives, right,
that's all it's all about. You know, we've been talking
a lot about the American League MVP Award, and it's like, yes,
(05:35):
if we take all the big statistical categories and we
just say who has more wins, yeah, Judge is gonna
have more wins. But it's it's an overall story that
you're trying to tell. And as we've found out in
these processes with the extended playoff field, that the narrative
does matter, Right, there's a there's a little more nuance
(05:58):
that gets in when we're trying to pick that at
large field. So here's the potential for this this conference
to make its case. And let's face it, the poachers
will be out in full effect over the next couple
of years. We've already had documents, illegal documents put out
in the past, something we talked about as it was
(06:20):
happening of potential secession plans. So you never know how
this is gonna work. Right, Hey, we want a larger
piece of the TV revenue.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Beat it. Yeah, yeah, that's nice.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Thanks for coming. Hey, we'll stamp your parking on the
way out. Don't worry about it. You'll be good.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
You're not a conference without us.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
We got more college football come up next to our
pete few tax stops by. We'll preview all the big
games in college football this weekend. But as we said before,
he was so rudely interrupted by the near touchdown by
Florida State. Big week in the NFL. Time to give
you our picks for the biggest games of the weekend.
We gave you Green Bay Dallas a few minutes ago.
(07:00):
How about the one in three Bowl, right, Baltimore and
Kansas City. One of these teams is gonna go to madness,
I tell you, and I'll tell you this much, and
nothing's changed when we first talked about this earlier in
the week. Someone's gonna be one and three and it's
gonna be the Chiefs. Right. Just look at how these
teams are playing. Baltimore has no defense at all. Their
(07:21):
defense is absolutely abysmal, but their offense, they're scoring at
will on everyone. Kansas City is struggling sort of everywhere, right,
like mahomes Is. I mean, it's all the homes this offense.
If he can lead the team in rushing every week
and passing, that's what he's trying it. That's the only
thing he can do. Now. They do get Xavier Worthy
(07:41):
back on Sunday, but they are struggling everywhere. Hollywood Brown
has been a jag. Travis Kelcey looks done. Biggest thing
is watching him yell at his teammates or yell at
Andy Reid in the sideline. Now it's like that's all
he's got and it's like, come on, man, just just dude,
just stop with that crazy ass optic. I'm yelling at
every but because I'm mad we're not playing. Well, no,
(08:01):
you're mad because you're done. You're done. Everybody knows it,
and it's frustrating to you. Uh, Kansas City is hoping
at some point everything's just gonna click. It's just gonna
gel when for no reason other than our guys will
come back and we're gonna be great. Well, okay, they've
wanted to get Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy and Rashie
(08:21):
Rice on the field together at the same time now
for the better part of two years, and it hasn't
worked right, You're still be another few weeks until you
get Rashie Rice back. It's just I said this was
a year where it was gonna be. I was stock
up on Mahomes, stock down on the Chiefs going into
the season because they just have gett it. They're getting
passed by by the younger, more athletic, more physical teams
(08:44):
in the in the AFC. And that's what you've seen
so far, and that's gonna continue on Sunday. The Ravens
offense is better. You look at the four aspects of
you know, the offensive defense of the Ravens, the offense
defense of the Chiefs. The offense of the Ravens is
clearly operating on another level from anything the Chiefs are doing.
I think Mahomes has a big day, but it's a
bigger day for Lamar Jackson in company and they win
(09:05):
this like a by the final of thirty eight twenty seven.
I love the over in this game. And look, any
game the Ravens are playing, you want to take the over.
I want to just be clear on that, but especially
this one. Give me the over and give me the
Ravens by a couple of touchdowns and suddenly Monday morning
and Monday afternoon and Monday evening, it's are the Chiefs
done or the Chiefs over? Yeah, things are tough on
the Chiefs.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
I'm going the other side.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
I'm gonna take the thirty one getting two and a
half at home, the over unders sitting at a nice
robust forty eight or forty eight now hook, depending on
where you're looking at it. Derrick Henry had that big
game one, Grant Delvitt said he's just a guy week two,
and then he was just a guy week three.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Uh oh.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
You're also looking at a defense that can get after
it for Kansas City. Thus far on the season, they
rank among your your best in terms of points allowed
per game, despite the heavy schedule early and the fact
that well the offense hasn't done the many favors. You're
looking at a team that currently ranks in the top
(10:08):
ten giving up eighteen point seven points per game. So
I'm looking at them to make a play for spag
Noel to reach into his pockets and come up with
a little bit of magic to slow down Lamar Jackson
in company. And we're all wondering why the best roster
Jason looking for I may lose it next week on
a whole other level. When he joins us, he's already
(10:32):
what's the word for klempt and scuffling to not curse
and risk our FCC licensing at times with what he's
seen from this squad. I think it gets worse in
Kansas City on the road this week.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Forty points. Week one against Buffalo forty one points against
a pretty good defense. Week two in Cleveland, thirty points
against the Lions. Say, okay, all right, okay. The one
thing I can say, Buddy, you and I both like
the so okay, we'll deal with that. We both like
the over ind this game.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
We'll agree on that you're not gonna score thirty seven
a game for the balance of a season. If they
do and this record continues, then it's one of the
greatest stories.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
In the NFL.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
Is why can't Lamar Jackson win eight to seven?
Speaker 1 (11:21):
The other big game of the week, Well, look, there's
lots of other beginns of the other big game we're
gonna talk about here for a couple minutes. Eagles and
the Bucks. Tampa is living dangerously right. You've seen them,
but it's been three fourth quarter comebacks the first three
weeks to be undefeated. But Baker Mayfield simply is that guy. Right,
(11:41):
He's a top seven quarterback in the NFL, And the
final two minutes of the game, it's like watching Brady.
That's the level he is playing at. That's level he's
been playing at for the better part of the last
two years. The last two minutes, as good as he
is in the first fifty eight, he's even better. The
fact that Tampa is living danger and say, okay, well, no,
Philadelphia has been barely getting by, barely getting by. Their
(12:06):
first loss is coming and it's gonna be here on Sunday,
a lower ish scoring game. But Baker Mayfield makes more
plays than Jalen Hurts. Why because Philadelphia is gonna finally
realize in this game. Hey, as much as we were hoping,
Saquon Barkley isn't gonna be the twenty four version of
(12:27):
himself this year. Again, we told you for so long,
running backs coming off of four hundred touch seasons don't
have the same year the next year. It's science. It
just doesn't happen. Guys. You have that kind of responsibility,
that kind of wear and tear. It takes a little
bit and they just don't have it. And it's gonna
be Tampa Bay understanding, we're gonna make Jalen Hurts beat us,
(12:48):
and their defense is good enough. They'll adjust a little
bit defensively as well, but not in the heat in Tampa.
And I'll go bold on this. Bucky Irving two touchdowns,
one hundred and twenty five total yards. I still like
the under, but Irving has a big day too, touchdow
one hundred twenty five yards. Tampa gives the Eagles their
first loss.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
How about that? Look at you.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
I'm looking for a little bit of balance more a
j Brown coming off a big game last week. Curiosity
for Tampa for me is with Mike Evans now out
they were zero and three when he missed games last year.
But you do potentially get a role for Chris Godwin.
Now that's gonna be a game time decision, trying to
help bolster that receiving corps next to Abuka, who will
(13:30):
draw Mitchell Now it's a matter of who's number two
that's going to be able to pick on. What has
been the big week point for this Philadelphia defense thus far,
a second cornerback position and the the.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Well, the whole side of the field.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
That's been a bit of an issue because Mitchell takes
care of business himself. But can Baker Mayfield and Bucky
Irving make those plays?
Speaker 5 (13:54):
Particularly?
Speaker 4 (13:55):
I think Irving I like spotlighting him because of what
he's able to do in the past, and I think
that's where perhaps they create a little bit of chaos.
So not gonna have a lot of success running the
ball against the Philly front, but enough to keep them
on their toes and mix and match a little bit
to create some success. As we look at the point
(14:17):
spread and everything for this one, it is a three
and a half point road favorite for Philly with our
total creeping up a little bit. I think it was
forty four and a half, and we've seen a little
bit of movement north in that regard, so we keep
an eye there. I'm gonna take the Eagles to win
(14:38):
the game on the road. Barkley doesn't have to be superhuman.
Hurtz makes enough plays with his legs and with his
arm to give the Bucks their loss.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
You're just doing this because you don't want me to say.
You don't want me to pick the birds and do
my accent because I'm still watching task and all the
stuff that Mark Ruffalo is saying about the Philadelphia Phillies.
You still want me to say that to why? You're
just tell me because of the If I picked Philadelphia
and not know my accent, you would have said, yeah,
I all go with Tampa Bay. You just don't want
to hear it.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
Yeah, you had to give me a Ruffalo, didn't you?
Dare you? I thought he hated sports about a year ago,
did he anyway?
Speaker 1 (15:14):
No rough show to have a little bit of a
Philadelphia accent, not you know what I mean? To all
the other characters they are now, they all have it
on task. They all have that accent on tat they did.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
What you couldn't get it right? And he'd already signed
on quote coach quit. He wasn't willing to do the work.
How about that?
Speaker 1 (15:33):
I I I have, I have I have a really
I can't tell you the name because because I don't know,
I don't know if there'd be a lawsuit. But a
friend of mine used to work for this big time
production company in Hollywood. This is I'm going back like
twenty some odd years and uh, they did a movie
with a really high profile actress and she had to
(15:54):
do an accent for it. And I was like, how's
it going? And and she told me, I said, how's
a movie going?
Speaker 3 (16:01):
You know?
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Just talked? She goes, uh, Blank the accent is not working.
And I said, well, what do you mean? I said,
but how do you not? What do you mean does?
It's not working? It's not working and it's going to
really hurt the movie, Like, oh my goodness, what what? What?
Speaker 5 (16:15):
What?
Speaker 1 (16:16):
What happened? And and and my friend told me, well,
when Blank tells you they can do an accent, what
are you gonna say? Okay? I gat what can you say?
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Right though?
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Okay, you can't do the accent? Can't do the accent?
Uh exit out bout of Fresca exit swollen down the
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmen. So
there are some of our big picks. We got more
big picks coming up, and straight ahead we have a
visit from Jason Cole NFL Inside or Extraordinary. Does he
think potentially the Cowboys can win on Sunday against the
(16:58):
Pagan Probably not, but it's gonna be really What about
Aaron Rodgers? How Upsetti is already about being in Ireland?
Speaker 5 (17:04):
All that?
Speaker 1 (17:04):

Speaker 6 (18:03):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out Over Promised and also Uncensored, by

little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast

Speaker 7 (18:13):
There you go, over Promising and remember you could see

So week four of the NFL on the way, Aaron
Rodgers already unhappy. He wants there to be more sight
seeing in Ireland. Yeah, joining us now on the hot
line to break it all down. His second visit with
us this week because he can't get enough of us
check him out of the thirty third team Pro Football
Hall of Fame voter, longtime friend of the show. Who's
(19:08):
going to find a way to predict the Cowboys to
beat the Packers? It is Jason Cole. What's happening, man?
Speaker 3 (19:14):
I actually have a clause in my contract that I
get a side of potato salad if I do two
appearances in a week.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
All right, I got you do.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Okay, you signed a four year, four sandwich contract, but
you do have a two time in a week for
a side of potato salad.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Okay, that's right, yes, exactly. But Art Deli potato salad.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Yeah special, No, No, I understand, I understand where you're at.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yes, yeah, yeah, Harmon went to arts recently.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
Art is a wonderful place.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
It is amazing, truly, truly amazing.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
It is Americana at its finest.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Yeah, that's a that's in New York Deli right there,
in the hardest city of city. Baby, you got them
that that's that is truly America.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Wait I said, wait, no, no, no, no, no, no, Dallas Cowboys,
that's America. Ja Cole, Come on, man, it's not.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
It's really just kind of like regionalized. Now it's it's Dallas.
We're only the people who are who are fools enough
to believe in Jerry Jones are still fans.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
What a fool believes?
Speaker 1 (20:26):
Is there anyway the Cowboys can win this game on
Sunday against the Packers? Is there anyway?
Speaker 3 (20:31):
The question? The question is is Mica Parson is going
to have more sacks than the Cowboys? Four points?
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (20:44):
You said he's gonna look like Jefferson in Fast Times?
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (20:51):
What was that run that? Yeah? As far as Whittaker
two tickets for Jefferson?
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (21:00):
What was what was? What was that?
Speaker 3 (21:02):
I keep thinking like this, he's he's gottavision repair man.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Like I wonder if Sunday is gonna kick off the
Remember when Gruden traded Khalil Mack and every week he
had a strip, sack, fumble recovery for a touchdown, and
grud To keep saying, another one by this guy, another
one by this guy. Like I'm waiting for this to
happen for Micah Parsons and Jerry.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Jones, I just I just want him to have like
that Derek Thomas kind of game, where like he has
like every other plays a sack and it's like, remember
what was that Derek Thomas had like eight sacks on game,
some ridiculous number or something like that. It's just like
every other Oh, let me get It's like it's basically
(21:54):
like Dax Blowan will be out of Micah or something
like that. You know, like just he's going to be
wearing wearing Mike Parson's jersey by the end of this game.
That's how bad this is going to be. It's just
gonna be terrible for the for the Cowboys, and Jerry
just can't escape it because you know, like they went
(22:16):
now that can't play past defense. You're such a sucker,
Jerry for this, Like I just pay your star players either.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
Eber Blues grew the beard back. That's what made him
such a champion on hard knocks.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Wow, I'm gonna how to respond to that.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
He's gonna keep playing over.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
I did not have Eberflus's beard as a subject for tonight.
I really didn't.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
A throwaway line that's about all he's good for.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Yeah, I know that's that's true, but I just didn't
have it. I just wasn't ready for Eberl's beard. Hey,
I think we're playing like celebrity Jeopardy or something like that. Okay,
go ahead, listen.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
It just took a while for eber Flus to show
everybody how good Caleb Williams is. I mean, get off
the guy's back.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
That was such a great headline. That was such a
great deadline when somebody wrote the former Bears coach finally
unleash's Caleb.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
I told you we drafted the right guy.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
I look at one of the truly truly great headlines
I have ever seen. I was like, wow, that is
so sublime. It is so great. Green Bayallas, Green Bay, Dallas,
especially like Green Bay. Not only are they not only
(23:47):
the answer because it's Dallas and it's because but they
just screwed up that game against Cleveland, so like they're
gonna be really really angry for this game. That's that's
how I look at this one.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Still can't take away that Browns win good times. All right,
So the Ravens score a lot of points, but their
defense stink. But the question is can Kansas City score
enough with them?
Speaker 3 (24:11):
This is a real challenge to see if Kansas City
has any life in that offense, because if we can't
score against this team right now, I mean, and maybe
zach Orrer will get it by this time. But if
you can't score on Baltimore right now, you got some
serious problems with your offense and how functional or non
functional you are. And Kansas again, I think Kansas City
(24:33):
is still going to end up with ten, eleven, maybe
twelve wins at the end of this whole thing, because
Mahomes is just too good and reaves together. They'll figure
it out. But this is such a critical game for
them to get moving, and it's a critical game for
Baltimore to like figure out, Oh yeah, we actually do
now to play defense. I promise that we do. Like
(24:54):
we've been doing this for like twenty years, and we
can and we are good at still, but they certainly
haven't looked like that. I just I don't get what.
I don't get what Baltimore's trying to do. I mean,
I just this is such a nonchalant, a tackless, tactical defense.
(25:16):
It's nothing like anything I've seen from them for twenty
five years. So I just, again we talked about the
other night, I don't get what zach Orr is trying
to accomplish with this defense.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Look, when you joined us byday night. We talked about
this afterwards, like if this season goes bad for Baltimore, right,
if this goes bad, and this was all we've heard
was this is the most talented Ravens roster we've ever seen,
all of it. The one common bond through all of
this is John Harball. I know the guy's not coaching
(25:49):
for his job this year because you're not going to
come out of this year underachieving saying hey guys, we'll
get back at it next year with really the best
roster that we have. There's going to need some sort
of of of of come up, and someone's gonna have
to take take responsibility for it, and it's going to
be John Harball.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
I'm not buying man.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
Adam gasee new Raven's head coach. Get ready Wow tacos.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Wow. Uh. I didn't have Adam Gaze in this conversation either,
So we've gone from eva if Louis's beard to Gaze's tacos.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Jacob.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
We're celebrating baseball teams making the wildcard, so it's Wildcard
reference Friday.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
It's wow, Like this is deeper than Gene Mock from
last for Monday. Uh. Wow, Look, I think John Hardball
will have to have a serious conversation with Steve Dati
about how they take advantage of, you know, what they've got.
But if you're Steve Mashati and you're looking at they've
(26:57):
built Lamar Jackson into a contending quarterback, right, Like they
they put a lot of effort into how they're going
to build this. They've built them really what I think
is a really terrific offense. They've got a studded lineup,
but you know, like they're they're really good, especially on offense,
and they've got players on defense. You can see it.
(27:19):
They're just not playing to it. I just think that
this is one where he's going to have to sacrifice
the defensive court and there you know, we talked about
this on Monday. I think unless they get it turned
around really quick here in the next week or two,
like I think Zach Gore gets replaced and they just
come in with you know, maybe they go back to Wink.
I mean, I don't you know, I don't know, but
(27:42):
you know, they've got to come up with a better idea.
You know, I know Harbaugh s borrows from that idea.
I think that Amy Reid has, which is you have
to sort of refresh your coaching staff every three to
four years so that you don't get stale. And that's
one of the reasons he got rid of, you know,
Martindale a certain point. But yeah, like this has not
(28:03):
worked out, Like this is what what they're doing right
now is so far removed from anything they've ever been.
I just he's intended for too long to just scrap him. Now,
if you were up in Pittsburgh and Tomlin doesn't take
advantage of this, Tomlin is is more likely to be
(28:23):
in trouble than Harbaugh to me. But but yeah, I mean,
I just say Tomlin's more likely in trouble on Harbaugh.
I would I would be. I would be surprised if
if the shotting made that kind of move because he
likes consistency. He likes the way that Pittsburgh does business
by keeping consistently with his coaching staff.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. That is
at Jason Cole sixty two, longtime friend of the show.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
We never we never want anything with Micca. No.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Look, I want to to pay him. I wanted to
give more guaranteed money that he got from Green Bay. Yeah,
but how many years. Was it that that doesn't matter
the years offered.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
Him the rest of his life. Yeah, time through age
to eight.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
A balloon payment on his hundredth birthday. Uh, contingent on
the fact that that he could still cash a check.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
But it's a lot of money. It was a lot,
and he turned it down. He didn't want to.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
It was going to be at least ten million dollars
of his life. That's what he was going to be.
We shook hands on it, I swear.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
With it was like clearinghouse.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Yeah, you have a deal. Yeah, you gotta have a deal. Yeah,
that's that's that's how Jerry thought this was going to go.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
He even told me I was allowed to do that.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
It wasn't against any kind of n f l p
A rules to to not talk to an agent and
just do it right with the guy.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
The micah Micah, you just point up into the stands
every time and just say play Jerry and like give
him a wink. Everybody.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
No, you do the money sign.
Speaker 5 (30:06):
You know you do that.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
You do that Johnny Manzel money sign.
Speaker 5 (30:11):
Oh, it's what Jerry maguire did.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
Glenn Fry So that's so great, that's so great. Money
man's with both both. Uh, just just look up at
the stands and give him a point. And you should
give him that little sideways point, sir, like Jery gives you,
like where you tilt the head and you smile a
little bit in the way Jerry smiles when he when
(30:35):
he when he really thinks he's bfing you. And then
you give him the money. Man' zelle, you know like that,
Oh God that I got. I would pay so much
money for that, I really would. That would be awesome.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
I goat check out on Twitter at Jason calls thirty thirteen. Buddy,
have a great weekend, man.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
We'll talk to you next week later. Enjoy the game, brothers.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Just every sack money and the fourth sack of the
day from Micah Parsons. And he's run out of celebrations.
He's just simply walking over and shaking Jerry Jones's hand.
On the sideline.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
There is Alan Tunnick is dressed as Steve the Pirate.
He's got a money chest at the fifty yard line.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
You know the guy on our team dresses like a pirate. Now,
I don't know what you're talking about. You come Eggs
on our team, always a great visit with Jason Cole
time not to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports. For Man has been called the Glenn
Fry of Fox Sports Radio. It's unclear how much he
likes Don Henley. It's Steve the Sager.
Speaker 8 (31:35):
But in the long run, nice are all professionals here.
We think forty nine Ers quarterback brock Perty will return
to play Sunday after a tow injury, but Washington QB
Jaden Daniels is still out with a spring knee, and
wide receiver Terry McLaurin is out with a quad injury.
Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy returns Sunday after a dislocated shoulder.
(31:58):
Rams wide receiver Davante Adams listed as questionable with a
bad hamstring, but his coach is confident Adams can play Sunday.
Giants kicker Graham Cano is out. He missed practice all
week with a groin entry. And Rio Dationaro will host
an NFL game starting next year. The contract is for
at least three NFL regular season games over the next
five season.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Does Duran Durand do the national anthemensum rio afterwards?
Speaker 8 (32:21):
City of Rio dation Aro no ok, You're a Virginia
at the college football upset in double overtime, beating number
eight Florida State forty six to thirty eight in the
game on Fox TV. It's late third quarter. Number twenty
four TCU leads at Arizona State twenty four to seventeen
and Oregon State zero and four this season is leading
at home against Houston fourteen to nothing in the second quarter.
(32:44):
At the WNBA Semifinals. Vegas a winner at Indiana Phoenix
is leading eighty to seventy six in the final minute
against Minnesota. Europe leads the US golfers at the Ryder
Cup five and a half to two and a half.
The MLB regular season ends this Sunday. Right now, the
Padres lead six to two over the Diamondbacks, bottom of
the six. Fernando Tatist, junior back from illness, hit a
(33:06):
grand slam. Houston is holding on three to two at
the Angels going to the bottom of the seventh inning.
In the NL wildcard chase, the Mets lost the Reds
won those two now tied for that final wild card spot.
Arizona not eliminated yet, but the Reds do hold the
tiebreaker over the Mets in case they finished tied after
seven race.
Speaker 5 (33:25):
Thanks Steve.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
No nobody knew that. That's all I've been hearing for
the whole last two weeks. You know the Reds hold
the time. Yes, yes, we know.
Speaker 8 (33:31):
We kind of key to the story. Actually, Cincinnati three
to one winner at Milwaukee, and Miami beat the Mets
six to two. As for the other games, Cubs won,
Phillies won losses for both Cleveland and Detroit. They're still
tied for first in the AL Central. Don't know if
you've heard the Guardians hold the tiebreakers since they won
the series. Boston got a run bottom of the ninth
(33:52):
to beat Detroit four to three. The Red Sox clinch
the postseason birth, and the AL East Blue Jays and
the New York Yankees still tied for four place. Toronto
holds the tiebreaker there. Toronto a winner against Tampa Bay
four to two, while the Yankees won their six game
in a row beat Baltimore tonight eight to four, Aaron
Judge with his fifty second homer, Gencarlo Stanton two homers.
(34:12):
Five RBIs the best of three Wildcard series, each begin
on Tuesday, with all the games at the better seeded
team back to you.
Speaker 1 (34:20):

(34:42):

for the future. It's next right here, Jason to Mike.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
So we got Pete fu Tech coming your way in
about a half hour from now. All the big college
football previews prognostications from a huge week that kicked off
tonight already with Florida State getting up set get his
reaction on that. But look the two biggest games tomorrow,
Northwestern UCLA big well, yes, but yet Wildcats favored by
(35:52):
six at home. It's big because I would say, hey,
we'll either team field a program after this week.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
I'll see you in l how's your quarterback doing, pal?
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Oh, that's a bridge too far, man, that's a bridge.
You started it and I.
Speaker 5 (36:08):
Swept the legs. No, I did it again.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Yeah, you wear an Astros hat tonight. Yes, that you're doing.
We're big Astros.
Speaker 5 (36:15):
Yeah big as I banged that trash can. Let's go.
Uh look punk.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
A Metal, Penn State and Oregon tomorrow. I know James
Franklin a little upset, wanted the game a different time
because hey, the whiteout is better, you know, And when
you're trying to talk about having a white out during
the day and having a whiteout at night, the white
out of back, dude, what are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (36:39):
Man? Come on, what the hell are you talking about?
Speaker 4 (36:43):
Tony sitting there going I mean, we got some great
games on the board to talk about our conference, and
every one of these guys is going to the podium
and complaining about the stark time of their game.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Oh you know, I know, but ye know, Look, we
do the white out for a reason. It's become a
big deal. But when you compare the white out during
the day white like, what the hell are you talking about? Man? Seriously,
what do you know? And you wonder why would follow up?
You wonder why they can't beat any good teams? Right
this game is an absolute must for Penn State. But
I say it all the time, and I've been right
(37:15):
for the better part of the last two and a
half years. I'll pick Penn State to win a big
game after they show me they can win a big game.
Right now, they they've warmed up with a lot of patsies.
Oregon schedule has been quote hard, and they've been really
really I mean Seriously, Oregon might be the best team
in the country. They have been fantastic so far. They've
played better competition. But really I'll pick Penn State when
(37:38):
they win a game and I see James Frank you
understand why they can why the record he has against
teams in the top twenty five and teams in the
top ten, and I go, okay. So the biggest headline
from this week is just hey, we're up with you know,
the time, the star time for the game because we're
doing a white out, Like what what do you? This
is what we're focused This is what you're focused on
this week. This is a focus about the time of
(37:59):
the game. You want to make this a story this week,
like you wonder why Penn State doesn't win big games?
Speaker 5 (38:04):
You're taking away our home field.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
Oh, Dante more for Oregon the second favorite to the
Heisman behind Fernando Mendoza. Because of the material injury and
the expectation that he misses a month or more.
Speaker 5 (38:18):
He's dipped in.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
The betting odds and so now you rise to the top.
The thing that stands out to me is going through
and Drew Allers made some plays, but we go back
to some of the failures of last season, and one
stat that really stood out. They're averaging seven point one
yards per past attempt. Do you say in the NFL
that's pretty good? Droe? Over seven year in college football,
(38:41):
that's nothing. He's tied for eightieth with Auburn's Jackson Arnold
and just ahead of Nussmyer, who's that seven yards per ten.
But that's a whole other discussion for another time. Penn
State minus four fifty three is the total. I'm looking
at Dante more and that I think it's two twenty
one and a half passing yardage. Take me over, big
(39:05):
plays all day against the secondary.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
The other game Alabama and Georgia, and I know everybody
wants to run Kaylin Debor out of town. And the
biggest story is what is his buyout? Yeah? I no,
you're not buying him out this year. Okay, it's too
much money, You're not buying them out. I can't see Alabama,
even though Ty Simpson is playing really well, right, like
they got that right. I can't see Alabama going into
(39:30):
Georgia and winning and winning this game. So while again
it's gonna be a difficult start for Alabama with another loss,
I think you just have to be patient with him
because he's starting to get things going right. No, his
record isn't great, but Debor's not one of those show
up at a place sprinkle ferry dust all of a sudden,
we're good. Taking over at Alabama for Nick Sateman is
(39:51):
a thing. But he's starting to get the offense going.
That was his HALLMARKT Washington. I think things are gonna
be fine with Alabama. It's just a little bit tough
sledding for this week. Stick. You gotta stick with him
for the rest of the season into next when he's
got it going, his recruits, his guys. The brighter days
ahead for Alabama Debor, but not tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
Yeah, the extra week to prepare. After bludgeoning Wisconsin thirty
eight to fourteen, Georgia two and a half point favorite
fifty three and a half the total. I mean, it's
fun Simpson versus Stockton, But get this, five of their
next six games against top twenty teams, So they'll get
tender rise by Georgia and then have to play the
rest of that slate.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Exit ab out of Frasca, exit Swollen Dome again. More
college football coming up about twenty five minutes but straight ahead.
The big NFL story of the day coming your way.
Fox
