Jay Glazer story he told us on the show last night.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
It was a good story. Happy Friday.

this out of the way. Yeah, we get this out
of the way. Big ball Friday. Obviously, huge lots of
NBA Cup Night tonight. It is e Cup Night, Emirates.
Can we just call it a cup? You have called
Emirates cup. It's kind of awkward because called it's a
cup night. Okay, just don't want to give the like
they're not paying us so.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
No, but it's insane.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
It's Emirates cut like this, Emirates like the eye runs
into Emirates. No, a cup sounds better if I can
say it's shorter and faster and sound cooler, I'm gonna
do it.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Hey, it's a cup night. Oh, it's an e cup night.
I didn't know.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
I bought one of those from my mom because I
thought it would be better to get her coffee quickly.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Oh, I'm sorry you bought your mom an athletics supporter.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Oh okay, oh sorry, one of the because you know
they have holes in the athletics before. You can't cut
the uh anyway, So let me just get that to
get this out of it drained fine enough, anyway, Just
get this out of the way. Tonight. It was twelve
years ago tonight. Yeah, young younger Jason Smith was watching
a Thanksgiving night game, not expecting.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
A lot of a giant play of food in front
of you.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
No, food was already done, foods already. I remember where
I was. I was standing behind my couch and I
watched it happen, and I said.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
They're going to play that playback for the rest of
my life. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
It's those moments that kind of sneak up on you,
that just hitch out of nowhere, going, yeah, that's gonna
be something big that you're going to think about a
lot for the rest of your life tonight. The butt
Fumble turns.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Twelve, twelve years old years old, the.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Butt Fumble early a teenage, twelve years almost there, almost
ready to tell you, screw you. I'm going to play
the butt fumble whatever you want. You're not my real dad.
All those kinds of things that escalated. I just remember
I was jumped a little pot the slamming the door
on me.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Now we have twenty people and it was timing on.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Everybody's going to the trough to eat, and I'm like,
I'll come in after this possession.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
What the hell just happened?

Speaker 4 (02:50):
And then all of a sudden, one by one, people
trickled back and it was back when it was TVO.
So yeah, and you watched it and then you rewound
it again, going.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
I really that really just happened.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Probably watched it fifteen times before anybody and meanwhile someone
is there was one little kid who just was stealing
all the treats off the table because nobody was paying attention.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
And it was in the middle of a run where
what was it, three plays in a row, three touchdowns,
crazy as jet's getting drilled, you know, and you know
it's It's one of those The butt fumble is is
almost like a piece of music where when you listen
to it for most of your life and you think, Okay,
this is the part you've listened.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
To, but then you get to a section of life.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
You go, oh, man, you know, I'm really I'm really
picking up this part of this music this time, I'm
really picking this up.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
I'm I'm the rhythm guitar.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
I was just having a conversation about that, mister Brownstone
with a couple of people the other day, about how
the rhythm guitar just completely makes that makes that song
come in and Izzy straddling Wow right, I'm like, oh,
you know, so it's like a piece of It's like
every time you love ye as the as the As
the Shuffle at All is as the an album that
was as the As as time goes on, like different

(04:03):
things come to me and what I really come to
now the last few years now, because obviously the butt
fumble being twelve is the last couple of years, you know,
seeing it and then having discussions like this, I really
can't believe that Mark Sanchez was running into the middle
of the line of scrimmage and it was like he
was surprised that he had contact. He had his arm

(04:24):
on the ball and everything, he had it held the
right way, but he's running into the middle of the
line like he's a running.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Back about getting around Vince will form any entire career.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
And he was surprised that he got contact.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
So why he's a Hall of Fame Top twenty five
in the next round of balloty because he was so
easy to evade, you.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Know, the more times ago.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
What a bad play and here Sanchez a busted play
and he gets hit and Brandon Moore falls back. But
it's like he was running into the middle of the
line and contact. K was like, oh I expecting that, dude,
You're running into the middle of the line. How do
you not expecting contact? How are you holding on your hands?
He has hands the size of mud like my leg
and still he's able to fumble the football. I think that,

(05:07):
you know, when the measure his hands like nine to
three quarters, I think the measurement of his hands is
like three feet and still he was able not to
be able to hold onto the football.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Yeah, I'm gonna see if he's on cameo and see
if he'll send you a video explaining it all to you.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Do you think he gets a lot of emails to that.
You've got a lot of requests today? Oh, I'm sure today.
Hey dude, well you said if you can bol my friend?

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (05:27):
What is it? What is it? What do you got? Frostburg?

Speaker 6 (05:29):
The butt fumble was so twelve years ago. We don't
celebrate that year anymore. We celebrate the new butt fumble.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
What do you mean? No, no, no, it's not a
butt fumble. It's not.

Speaker 6 (05:38):
But we celebrate. This is our This is our, This
is what we celebrate this.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Are you ready? Go ahead? What do we celebrate?

Speaker 6 (05:45):
We don't celebrate the butt fumble here anymore?

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Okay? What are we celebrating?

Speaker 5 (05:51):
Protection breaks down in time, runs out, town goes Rogers
in the sack for Leonard Floyd Knew This year and
after spending three years with the Rams, the former first
round pick of the Bears, and now Rogers sits down.

(06:17):
That's Lowsomer on the play, and hopefully that's the Jets
are thinking.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
That's the only loss on that play. That's bad. See
what happened at the end of it.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
That's the d karma, man, See what happened Frostburg. Wait,
do you see what happens to you in your teams?

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Now? You wan take a look here at the very
end and doesn't well, I can't believe it's the injury.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
He had the calf issue in training camp. But here's
a little better look as far as to go back
down to the ground.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
All right, you wait, what happened? Watch what happens?

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Now?

Speaker 3 (06:47):
What are your doings? You're ass the curb stump? Watch out, man?
You want to play? There's some I really felt we're
gonna get. That's that.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
A few plays into game one, Zach Will, the former
number two overall pick from BYU who's made twenty two
starts in the NFL, is thrown fifteen touchdowns eighteen picks.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, yeah, anniversary, he's gonna keep going. Really, I really
better make a tone for your sin. I really thought
we were going to get the fail Mary, because.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
It's almost a year for that one, right, sure, but
I mean really all this is like, this is a
this is your life because it's the end of your
birthday week. The Thanksgiving weekend is awful for the Jets,
right the fail Mary was on a Friday, the Black Friday.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
It was Black.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Friday, right, So it's like the entire weekend is just awful.
It's like Thanksgiving, there are no good memories. Now, there's
no good memories. Now, there's none, not one, not one.
And now Rex Ryan wants to coach the Jets and
he's gonna come back.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
And I saw some folks theorizing maybe they just bring
back the brain trust that he got Mark Sanchez and
those teams out to the AFC title game.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
This is how general manager and all.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
This is how defeated. I know who can't have that.
This is how defeated I am. He has gone on
a run the last couple of weeks, openly canvassing to
get the Jets job back, to be the Jets head
coach again.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
We need him do it till Robert Sala was fired.
I want to I want this job. I'm the best guy.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
The interview yesterday in New York saying we don't need
to blow the roster up. I'd be undefeated with these guys.
Where okay, Rex, the last couple of years you are
absolutely terrible. But okay, all this stuff at all and
it's just laughable, right, it's absolutely left. Well, okay, Rex, Ryan,
here's how it defeated I am because this is honestly
where I am.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Why the blank?

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Not right?

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Why not? It's such a clown show. Who are you
gonna get?

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Anyway, especially after this week when everybody found out your
owner is Jerry Jones, but a lower profile firing people
doing things because of social media, calling for practices, not
giving money to the GM to give a player that
you said you were going to give him money. Like
people understand now that he's the worst owner. He's Jerry Jones,
except he's just a little bit lower profile interviews all

(09:00):
the time saying look at all the bad things I'm doing.
But so like, who are we gonna get, Like, who
are the Jets gonna get to be their GM or
head coach that's gonna say that's where I want to go.
It's gonna be more of the same. So if that's
the case, knowing that I no longer expect anything from
the Jets. I'm at that point because I had that
point in my life with a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
I knew it.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
I'm like, you know what, I'm just not expecting anything anymore.
I'm gonna never expect anything and that will never be disappointed.
Tough way to leave life, but also an easy way
to leave.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
From people.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
So I'm like, okay, so people don't come through, I'm
okay with that. But I feel that like that's like
I no longer expect anything from the Jets. And I
don't know what it was. Maybe it's over the last month.
It wasn't one moment of the year where I thought, ah,
you know, this is just this, this is the moment,
this is the straw that broke my back.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
No, it's just over the meth month.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
I'm like, you know what, I'm just never it's never
gonna change, right or or I think it's never gonna change.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
So I will no longer expect.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Anything, and if something good happens, then I'll be surprised.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
But I'm not.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
And you think, no, no, Jason, you're gonna be back. No,
I've learned my mask so many times. No, you'll be
many times.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Man, you'll be back. But you have friends that you know.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
After many years, find the males finally felt a little
beaten down, so he agreed to get married. So in
his vows, he's like, well, like water erodes rock, here
we are today.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
So that's kind of where you are. It's a slow,
even process of erosion. Even finally we're here.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Even Elizabeth Taylor realized I can't marry Richard Burton again.
I'm done. Well, Richard Burton died. I had helped, right,
okay did but you got My point is that no, absolutely, buddy, real,
everybody's gotta have it.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Look, everybody's got.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
A moment more. I can't do it, and you'll be back.
So they went because they no, that's great. You gotta
pale spectacular. I mean, you use the Elizabeth Taylor Burton.
I'll go to the Seinfeldian world. This is Dennis O'Hare
putting the crown back out, whiz and nobody beats me
because that's exactly what Rex Ryan would do.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Uh so you know, why not? Why not do it?

Speaker 4 (11:03):
And how about a fresco if you want to mock
the return of Rex Ryan.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
So we got more football coming your way in a
few minutes. Because why not? Why not bring Rex? Butck,
why not? But just to kind of put the cherry
on top of the Sunday that we served you earlier
in the week when it came to Joel Embiid, it
was Monday. We talked about it Monday or Tuesday, when

(11:27):
I think even the most staunchest of non believers would
have to agree with us. Where, Okay, the end of
the Joel Embiid era in Philadelphia is coming right. Things
are just not progressing to the point where he looks
like he's happy. There's controversy, he suspended before he even
took the floor. He's sick, he can't play, He's heard
he can't play, he was hurt, he couldn't play tonight,

(11:48):
swelling and look, it's it's just not It's at the
point of no return where the Sixers have gotten everything
they're gotten out of him. He looks like and seems
like he is unplugged from his situation in Philadelphia and
it's time to move on. And what's gonna make it easier?
What do we tell you was a couple of things
continuing to lose games, obviously, because then we got to trade.
We have nothing to do but the ascension of star

(12:09):
players is gonna make Joel Embiid expendable. And we talked
about the ascension of Tyres MAXI as good as he
has been looked at. Traded for Paul George, but he
got dinged up. But you watch tonight man, Jared McCain,
another thirty point night for the Sixers. He had hit
one big shot and turned around and screamed, I'm the
rookie of the year, which I kind of like, you know,
like three weeks into the season, Hey, I'm the rookie

(12:31):
of the year so far he is. I mean, so
no one's having the rookie season that McCain is having.
This is gonna make it so much easier for the
Sixers to say, you know what, this is who we're
building our team around right now, and yes, we'll get
something for Joel Embiid. I think they would laugh from
come back and play pretty well for a little bit,
so they know they're trading a guy that is healthy,
ish and wants to have a new start somewhere. You

(12:54):
want to get as much as you can for him.
But Philadelphia has found Look Max, He's become a star.
And McCain looks like he's going to be out absolutely phenomenal.
I mean, the guy doesn't lack for confidence when you're
making a shot and turn around going I'm the rookie
of the year. But here's what's this seven to thirty
point game of the year. Already, they have young talent
coming in, they've gotten they've seen the best of Joel
emb Right, they've gotten the best. He's won an MVP.

(13:15):
He's on the wrong side of thirty. This relationship has
run its course, and the ascension of another star is
going to make it easier to happen. And the more
and more I think I said, hey, by the deadline,
if not the offseason, not the latest. Now I'm thinking
the deadline, that's when it happens. By offseason, that it's
going to be the deadline and no chance on the off.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Season fifty six, nine and eight between McCain and MAXI.
McCain also doing that because he knows someone has a
camera for him, because he is very popular on TikTok
to the point where my daughters who really couldn't give
a damn about the NBA.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Know who he is. Wow, Really, that's how many followers
he got. Okay, he has and how.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
He starts to bleed into other timelines. They know who
he is, asking me, Hey, is he any good? Yeah,
kid's gonna be pretty good. Right, rookie had to duke
having himself a run. But yeah, the Embid thing's done right,
because you're also looking at a what does it take
to get on the court?

Speaker 3 (14:12):
But how much are you willing to do to get
on the court? Right? We talk about that a lot.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
I mean literally in their box score notes did not
play left knee injury management and left knee injury. It's
not so what you're saying is he might be able
to play right, and you you've coached, you know, youth sports,
and you've got folks that are like, all right, could
you push through this?

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Probably?

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Are you gonna no. That's where we're at in the
Joel Embiid thing. He's rich beyond all wildest belief. People
are gonna believe what they believe about him at this point. Right,
He's not winning anybody over new or converting anybody one
way or another. It's like arguing with your family over
politics at the Thanksgiving day table, Right, it doesn't matter.
You're not convincing anybody. Same thing here, Joel embiid. People

(15:02):
are even going to say, Wow, what a great body
of work. And he battles through myriad injuries blah blah blah,
and his body's just broken down. You can go reason
slash excuse, or you can just say he doesn't have
the same drive he once did. I think both can
depending on your point of view, both of those could
be true. And for the Sixers, what that means is
you're not winning. And you know you're not winning with him.

(15:23):
You didn't win when he was at his best.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
You're not winning.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Now, start photoshopping those new jerseys. It's happening. It's happening.
I don't mean start photoshopping those new jerseys. Well, they
took care of Brooklyn today, exit out about a Fresco
exit swollen down The Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon
Live from the TIREC dot Com Studios. Coming up next,
we'll take a look at the biggest games in college
football this weekend and break down that big quarterback story

(15:46):
out of the NFL today.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
That's next, Jason and Mike.

A tremendous slate of college football games tomorrow, including one
that will harken you back to the days of the
nineteen forties.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Hearken like that, that's a word from the nineteen forties.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Joining us now in the hotline nobody better College football
insider Extraordinary Petefeuwtech. He's on Twitter at petefeutech. His website
is college Footballnews dot com, your one stop shopping for
everything you need college football wise, all the picks, all
the prognostications, and no matter what team you root for,

(16:59):
he makes a case for your team winning each of
the games until he picks the game. You know.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
That's my yeah, I gotta tell people.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
So that's my favorite part because you know, like on
Twitter year, your thing is it's not my fault your
school isn't better at college Footba's true, but I still
like that when you pick the games, you say, hey,
here's why so and so can win, and here's why
so and so can win, and then you say, all right,
here's how I think the game is gonna go. But
I think people like that.

Speaker 7 (17:24):
Pete, you know it's hilarious. Are you on the by
the way, I am completely both fitted. I've called it
blue ski, like not trying to be funny, not realizing
it's actually blue sky, I think, or whatever they call it.
Have you been really literally someone just yelled at me
for this and like it's been the same bit for

(17:45):
twenty six years, no joke. In the last half hour,
it's now been brought up twice why each team will win?
I don't know. I don't know what that says about
the way, Like, lookly, some guy like I remember, gonna
read your stuff, this is what if each team's gonna
win whatever, we're like, God gets a bit already, dude,

(18:08):
It's okay, it'll be fine, But it's hilarious that you
just brought that up right now.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Well, you know, people, and people are consuming your stuff
for the first time. All the time, Pete's like Joe Dimagio.
He said, Hey, this might be the first time the
kid's got to see me play. I gotta put my
best game out there.

Speaker 7 (18:23):
Yes that was that was Michael George's line too, So yes, me,
Michael Jordan and Joe Demi probably right right in the
same exact.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
I dig that you're the same.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
All right, So listen, So let's get into we have
the two big games tomorrow. Look, we have look Ohio
State and the big New Kickoff. It's been a big
thing this week, but hey, Ohio State, finally they have
this big ten matchup against Indiana, who has gotten all
kinds of great publicity the last few weeks. And look
what a great story they are football school, Pete. I'd

(18:55):
love to say that I think Indiana can win this game,
but boy, I really can't see that happening.

Speaker 7 (19:00):
Yeah, there's something about this team that it's my NCAA
tournament theory that you show me the Central Directional State
upset over Duke in the second round, and I'll show
you eighty five thirty two, you know, coming up in
the next round. If Indiana at some point it's going
to happen where they're going to be like, Okay, here
we go, kind of like teaching you a couple of
years ago, I know, too soon, you know, getting by

(19:22):
Michigan too, you know, and then all of a sudden
knew what that was going to happen with Georgia. Well,
eventually Indiana's going to realize, oh yeah, we're like Indiana,
and all of a sudden things are going to go bad.
But here's the thing. I think it's going to be
like thirty eight at Devin or something. We all think
it's gonna you know, Ohio State's going to show up.
This defense is just that good. But what if it's not?

(19:44):
Like what happens if Ohio State lose? Everyone's talking about
the you know what happens if you know Ohio State
wins sixty five to three. Does that mean, you know,
Indiana eleven and one is out of the playoffs?

Speaker 6 (19:55):
No?

Speaker 7 (19:56):
Probably not. But what happens if you know it's all
of a sud ten and two. I don't think they're
out of the college football playoffs, But all of a sudden,
you're gonna get a lot of sec heads. You're going
to lose their minds.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Hey Pete game at Yankee Stadium.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
So the equivalent of the fifth inning would be about
what three minutes into the third quarter? Who makes the
big mistake? Can Army make the upset happen? Plus fourteen
and a half?

Speaker 7 (20:21):
First of all, I'm against this. There's a perfectly good
football stadium. Why are you doing this? Why are you
playing in a baseball stadium already?

Speaker 4 (20:29):
This?

Speaker 7 (20:29):
Are we done with this yet? There was Kitschy before. Okay,
you're in Yankee Stadium. That's fun.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
But yeah, send it for the Pinstripe Bowl, I know exactly.

Speaker 7 (20:41):
Even then, like play it somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
I mean, this I don't know is Jericcqu's home game.

Speaker 7 (20:46):
Then I almost think we are. If you're talking about
who's the most underappreciate in the country, Nort's killing everybody.
I mean, now we can kind of know and if
you're if we're able to really nuance this, really dive in,
it's obvious obvious that the Northern Illinois game was just
a complete whiff. I mean, just does. It's not an

(21:09):
indictment on the team. It was that the team just
failed to show up. And you can see it because
it was one of the odd oddest coaching games of
the year where it was a historically low amount of
carries for the Irish. You know, you had to go
back to way deep in the Brian Kelly era where
they had fewer than thirty carries. They just forgot to
run the ball. They forgot that. They didn't play quite right.

(21:31):
It was just a bizarre performance. And since then, I
mean they were toying with Virginia last week. I mean
they were goofing around, you know, doing fumble rootskis on,
you know, in their own deep, in their own end.
They're just they're playing around. This team is in total command.
Armies played absolutely nobody. If they to use the baseball thing. Look,
they got the knuckleball. Either you can't hit it or

(21:53):
you can. And if Notre Dame, you know, is able
to figure this out right away, they should be able
to roll pretty much without a problem.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Now you mentioned Brian Kelly because that gets into the
other big story of this week that Michigan somehow is
able to use ten million dollars. However, much of that
came from Dave Portnoy to flip price Underwood from LSU
is long standing commit to Michigan. And we've talked about
this the last couple of nights, and for me, this
is a big blink, blinking in red flag that hey,
Brian Kelly might really be in trouble man, because it's

(22:22):
not like they weren't giving him whatever the kid wanted
going to LSU, like all of a sudden, he flips
now to go to Michigan.

Speaker 7 (22:28):
Ah.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Man, Maybe Brian Kelly the end is coming quicker than
we think, or.

Speaker 7 (22:32):
At least he's not in the most comfortable of seats
at this point. I al will think a different way
with this, like good, let's him have your quarterback. You'll
get someone else's quarterback, Like why are you.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Well?

Speaker 7 (22:48):
I mean, look, look what Curtis Work's doing with Indiana.
You know, all across the board you can find a
good transfer, like let someone else pay them fight. You
want to pay this kid ten million dollars or whatever
it is? Okay? You know what, really, what's he going
to be? And the odds that he is going to be,
you know, the number one pick in the NFL draft
or something like that, are pretty slim. The odds are

(23:10):
even better that he's going to be just met and
so just let them. Do it you if you're if
you're LSU, you go out there and you find you
to you know, find this dance with someone else's date.
Don't mess around with a you know, a kid. Go
go out there and get a guy who's been has
been proven and done it before. But that's that's how
I would handle it. But to your point, yeah, it

(23:30):
doesn't vote well for Brian Kelly harra that, you know,
all of a sudden, it's sort of this isn't going
quite as well as everyone thought it would because you know,
if you're an LSU, you're supposed to win national championships
right away and he's not going to do that this year.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, there's so much with that.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
The Freeman wins Kelly's losses on the field and then
losing the recruit, so all of that happy Notre Dame
people to that end. Another guy that lost a quarterback
and may lose his job, Lincoln Riley U c l
A is a better football being played by U c
l A. Is this for Lincoln Riley? Is he driving

(24:07):
home with a box of his stuff if they lose
on Saturday's.

Speaker 7 (24:10):
The crazy part? If it is, he might be the
Dallas Cowboys head coach, Like, Okay, I mean it's I mean,
I have, you know, no skin in this game or anything.
I don't care, but like, so who is the guy? Like,
first of all, I he should fit for whatever reason,
it's just not happening. I think it took him too

(24:31):
long to kind of, you know, find the right mix.
If you're gonna have a defense, it's not going.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
To be great.

Speaker 7 (24:36):
At least have an offense that can crush everyone. And
you know, nothing at the Miller Moss or anything. But
again we've talked about this before. Look at the Lincoln Riley,
you know, lineage from Baker to Kyler to Jalen Hurts,
you know, Spencer Rattlers in the NFL to Caleb Williams
and then Miller Mock. You know, like you like, why
aren't you getting the superstar you know, recruiting transfer to

(24:59):
come there to USC? Why don't you have every great
player who has come there? And part of it is
USC is not you know in the NIL Well they're
kind of playing ball but not really you know, and
that's part of the thing too. But they just haven't
played enough defense in his time there, and they have
not fixed that glitch. And look This is one of
those teams also that if you go back over the season,
you really can point to like five plays that had

(25:22):
they gone the other way, all of a sudden things
are different. But hey, that's kind of football how it works.
But ye's your point. Okay, Yeah, you get rid of him,
and who do you go after? Who is that guy
who all of a sudden comes in with this pressure
and says, you know what makes USC a superpower? But
there are a lot of guys out there that love
to try.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Pete fu Tech with US College Footballnews dot Com editor
Grand Pooba creator the Jason Spitcher with Mike Carmon, live
from the TIREC dot Com studios. All right now, as
Colorado transforms themselves and hopefully for Colorado, they're steaming towards
the playoffs. They had got the big game on National
TV tomorrow. Deon Sanders flips the quarterback was supposed to

(26:00):
come in and help Lincoln Riley. I look at Dion
and I go, is he leaving for the NFL?

Speaker 2 (26:06):
No?

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Is he leaving for somewhere else in college football?

Speaker 5 (26:09):
No?

Speaker 1 (26:09):
But for now, like if he shows a little bit
more of a track record, because last year was so Rocky,
and it's still a question mark. You know, is he
going to be able to work with other people? What's
it going to be like. There's still a little bit
too much that needs to be seen from him. But
another couple of years of competition, another couple of years
of playing really well, and then I think the NFL

(26:30):
upper upper levels of college football that'll be open to him.

Speaker 7 (26:33):
Oh here's the thing, I mean, a different levels of
college football. What like Florida State seems like they would
be the obvious call, But like the NFL, here's this
isn't ten years ago? Why why would you do other
than that? Yes, it's the NFL. There's you're going to movies,
it's that TV. You're going you're a movie star. If
you know the NFL, it's a bigger deal. All coaches

(26:54):
want to be in the league. You don't want to
have to deal with an IOLM one, you don't want
to have to deal with recruiting and all that, except
for the fact that you know Dion who I'm a
based prime fan. You know, look, is he really the
guy who's going to sit there until like six in
the morning, Joe Gibbs style and you know, pour over things,
and I'll do all the things you have to do,
you know, to be an NFL coach type of thing

(27:15):
is real brilliant.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
You know.

Speaker 7 (27:17):
Look, he's been doing a great job. His schemes are great.
His his his his style of offensive player has been fantastic.

Speaker 6 (27:24):
You know.

Speaker 7 (27:25):
But the best part about being Dion Sanders is being
Dion Sanders. And that works in college in an nil
world where who's better at knowing how to work the
game and knowing the brilliance of being able to handle
all the parts of this the showmanship, the money, the revenue,
the nil thing, the endorsements and everything it takes to

(27:46):
be a pro and unapologetically so. So what he does
is so good for college? Why do you want to
go to the NFL? And maybe you have, you know,
Patrick Mahomes, and maybe you don't. You know, now you're
at the of the luck of who you've got in
personnel wives from the draft, because you can't do the
things and go out recruit because as is, who's a

(28:07):
better recruiter right now? Who can sell his place better
than Deon Sanders can recruit and sell Colorado?

Speaker 3 (28:12):
All right?

Speaker 4 (28:13):
To that end, Kansas winners of three of their last
four tickets as low as thirty four bucks for this
one game on Fox, Colorado keep rolling is Kansas got
another upset in him.

Speaker 7 (28:25):
I will say this, one of the two things is
going to go weird tomorrow. Either Arizona State's going to
beat BYU or Kansas is going to beat Colorado. I
don't think we're going to get it clean and easy
in BYU Colorado for the Big Twelve Championship. Kansas is
playing great. You know, they've sort of they were playing
well all season. They just did everything right but win.

(28:47):
And now over the last couple of weeks they won
in a blow out and they won in a tight battle,
and so they've been able to sort of like figure
it out now and the pressure has been sort of
often they've been doing a great job. I still don't
buy Colorad. I just the Big Twelve so awful, and
they're great. They've been playing better. The defense has been
far better. I thought it would be the past protections.

(29:09):
They're the running games. They're just enough and then you've
got you know, the superstars. And I think part of
the crazy part about this is because of the Travis
Hunter Heisman hype, we're all missing it Sugar Sanders is better.
I mean, he has been brilliant year and so yeah,
I think it could absolutely happen. But Kansas is a
very very dangerous game. I will not be shocked as

(29:31):
the buff Blues.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
He's on Twitter at Pete Feutech, that is at Pete
feu Tech Pete. I just started following on Blue Sky too,
so there's that let's go.

Speaker 7 (29:42):
Yell at me for other things. And it's actually, it's such
a nice platform people yell at you nicer.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Give it a month. I'm pretty sure it's Blue Skilk.

Speaker 7 (29:55):
I'm just gonna stick with Bluesky. I like it better.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
I agree tell you ezybody will to you. Remember Pete
Futech was a guy that gave us a big nude
kickoff for Fox.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
He did.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
It's a big nude kick off. They're gonna come and
tackle you.

Speaker 2 (30:07):

this this just I can't believe this actually happened, let
alone that we have the audio to prove that it did.
Oh wow, breaking, Oh Jay, this is awesome.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
Yeah no, no, no, not not the not the case.

Speaker 7 (31:02):
Not.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
Last night, Jason Kelcey was on Jimmy Kimmel in which
he talked about, you know, talked football as normal thing.
He's got a new show coming on a late night
show that's gonna be on ESPN.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
Everything was great, right, yeah, absolutely, he's got a new
baby on the way.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Yeah, yeah, all sorts of stuff.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
And then as it is, you know, because living in
La this is kind of how it's done when when
people leave certain places where they tape things, whether it's
Jimmy Kimmel, whether it doesn't matter. People waited outside as
they want autographs. Sure, and sometimes people stop buying sign
sometimes they don't, and uh, Jason Kelcey was leaving Jimmy
Kimmel Show last night, and one upset fan got a

(31:43):
little mad that Kelsey wasn't coming over to sign autographs.
Kelsey's with a few people getting ready to get into
suv and leave, and this guy is screaming at him
and blankety blanket him for about a minute and a
half with all kinds of different stuff. Here's a sample
of what what he said to Jason Kelsey. This from TMZ,

(32:06):
I follow you.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
We get every guess that comes here.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Maybe free?

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Did it a put in hand? That's a hunter time
picking in here.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
Sorry, we won't.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
A lot of you're nothing.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
You don't love about them of money, You don't rule
the street.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Your love it's fake. No, we get everybody here.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
You're a high shot.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
The guy that turns you up about Penn State. My
name is Katy L.

Speaker 7 (32:33):
Keith, and I represent the street to Los Angeles. You pump.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
I'll take you on any time, and I'll be running
the Lava Saamaic universe. Watch from me you you That
is some of the greatest perform ever. I'm gonna be
running the MOrTL Cinematic Universe. Hey, sorry, Kevin Fogey, you're
out man. This this dude outside waiting for autographs. What
tells again, I run these streets a fake guy.

Speaker 7 (33:01):
I.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Run the streets of LA.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
So he's upset that Kelsey won't come over and sign
it on and he starts screaming at him. Now Kelsey
sits there and this scream this goes on, and then
Kelsey decides to walk over sign for him. There's another
couple of people there, and Kelsey actually winds up shaking
the guys.

Speaker 7 (33:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
The guy say I'm sorry, man, I really loved you
and I love you and all this all this stuff, yeah, yeah, yeah,
And Kelsey comes over and shakes his hand and signs
and it's just insane.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
And before we.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Get to the real takeaway of this again, let me
go back to I'll be running the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Morgan Freeman signed for me with a broken blanket hand.
Freddy Freddie was on after Sorry, Freddy Freeman signed for
me with the broken he won't come over and side
and again Marvel Cinematic. I guess Jason Kelsey is not

(33:49):
gonna be in the MCU. He's not gonna come in
his swamp thing or whatever. Look, everybody seems to be
finding their way into coming.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Not this guy. This guy's gonna be running it. He's it.
I'm running the MCU. I'm in charge of the list.
I'm running.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
You and Travis are not getting into the MCU. This
irtles too. In Turtles Too.

Speaker 6 (34:15):
The best line of it all is the fake love line.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah, yeah. You have fake you
have fake love. You have fake love for for everybody.
You have fake love. I was gonna be in Morbius too, Man,
I was gonna be in Morbius too.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
I like Morus. I like Morbius. I thought I thought
it was a better, better movie than it would.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Have been a great movie in two thousand and three
because that's when the off visual effects.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
But look, here's the big takeaway from this. Jason Kelsey
and what I say to Jason Kelcey is what I
would say what I've been saying to the w NBA
from the beginning. You have to be able to handle success.
And for Jason Kelcey, he wants to push out that
he is a man of the people, right, That's his
whole thing. I'm a man of the people, right, I'm
drinking beers with every everybody and walking through the fans

(35:01):
and high five in them. That's not a quote safe
strategy to have now in this day and age, not
because it's always going to be about, oh, you could
be in physical danger, but there's people out there that
are going to be mentally and physically opportunistic to try
to make a name for themselves with you. And if

(35:23):
you want to be a man of the people, that
used to be a great thing. Right, look at him
signing autographs, hanging out with there. This is so great,
This is so great. But this is a situation where
it's not controlled. And look what happened, right Penn State
grabs the guys able to come up to him and
yell at him about about Taylor Swift and he breaks
the guy's phone. Dude, this is not something that you
can just show up and go yeah. But you're a
different level of star now than you were a year ago.

(35:45):
You have to understand that being a man of the people,
you have to protect yourself a little bit more than this.
And I think he's learning that lesson. I can't believe
he went back to sign for the guy who would
blame Jason Kelsey if you've got in a car and
left this guy's just berating him from the beginning of leaving,
and he still goes back in signs for the guy.
No one's gonna say, oh, what a bad guy. Jason
Kelsey is the guy who's running the MCU is yelling
at him. He's not going back to side an autograph

(36:07):
for him.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
Yeah, I think the guy running the MCU, I mean,
he's now has his signature to do with what he will.
Uh So that's a dangerous proposition, shook his hand, all
that stuff. But part of it might be the I'm
gonna send him away, kill him with kindness, and he's
gonna feel like a jerk. Whether he does or not
is a whole other thing. And maybe it's the like

(36:28):
I come away looking like the even better guy as
this guy's belligerent and getting after me. And now I'm
obsessed with the Freeman because Freddie was just on and
Morgan Freeman did have a hand thing either way, the
point being that that maybe that's the point. And I know,
look perception reality some of the guys that were the
classic good guy signers.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
You can't get everybody right.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
I attempted back in the autograph hunting days of my
youth trying to get cal Ripken added to something, and
he always saw my TV signs everything.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
I never got that autogole. So but did I go
and screen at him?

Speaker 7 (37:03):
No?

Speaker 3 (37:03):
I did not.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
But when you're when you're in that arena, it can
go sideways. It went sideways at the State and it
was a bad story for him for a week. He
got lucky that the guy, oh, hey, you're great, you're.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Great things that probably should have gotten a more heat
than he did.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Because what if Kelsey goes over there and the guy
decides to continue to blanket he blank him, and then
then it looks worse for him. It's a you can't
control that situation. And if you want to be a
man of the people, you gotta be way more careful
than that man killed him with kindness, got more careful.
I mean, his family decided, Hey, you're a jerk man.
Why you treat why you treat Jason like that?

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Fake love man?

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Fake you want Jason alongside Hemsworth in the MCU man
Coming up next, we got a big story out of
the NFL. Keep it here, Jason and Mike. This is
