(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Fox Sports Radio The
Jason Smith Show with My bas friend Mike Harmon. Where
things are getting a little interesting in the NBA Finals,
Maybe Steph Curry asking for that fourth ring? Was it

(00:43):
a little too early? The Golden State Warriors had a
twenty point lead over the Celtics. We begin the fourth quarter.
It is a ten point lead. Who the Celtics outscore
the Warriors in the third quarter. Let me say that again. Yea.
The Celtics outscore the Warriors in the third quarter to

(01:04):
cut the lead to ten. It is Jalen Brown with
leading the way. Al Horford having a game in series.
It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. He's got sixteen,
He's made three threes. Uh to help the Celtics cut
this lead to ten and uh, the one go. I'm
telling you, if they wind up losing this game and

(01:25):
it's they're gonna look and go Jason say them three fouls,
eleven points, not playing great, Jason Tatum getting ready to
wear the goat horns. It's gonna happen now. And every
time there's an opportunity to close this, you know, lead
even more. They had a couple of point blank range
get that sona going uh point uh lay up opportunities

(01:48):
to two shots at it and both misses go back
the other way and then get the ball back again.
Another opportunity to make it an eight or seven point game.
And then the old Hey, I'm going to try this
cross court pass through three guys, Like what are we doing?
You got back in because you got back to fundamental basketball.
Don't get sloppy again. As the fourth quarter starts there

(02:11):
they're leaving the door open for you. Look, this has
not been well. Let's be honest, this has not been
a well played NBA Finals. This has not been boy.
These are the two best teams in the league at
the tops of their game. No, it's kind of been well.
The Celtics had one great game. The Warriors played well
enough and defensively they've been able to keep the Celtics

(02:35):
back well enough. But it's not like the Warriors top
to bottom have been great all the way through. Look,
Steph had four great games, didn't have a good game
last game. People don't want to admit no, it was
a reason why. You know, Look, Andrew Wiggins is having
a nice finals, right, but you know, maybe a little
bit inflated because all again, yes, his story is great,

(02:55):
he's having a nice finals. Play. Thompson is having an
okay finals. We're not getting game six Clay tonight, that
for sure. He's five out of eighteen. Jordan Pool has
been on even when he's been good, he's like he
is tonight, twelve points, he's plus eight. This has not
been a greatly played for This has been one of
those Hey, which team has enough at the end to

(03:16):
outdo the other. And the Warriors have been able to
make the better of the move so far. Even in
this game, they've been able to adjust and make it
difficult for the Celtics to score. And that's been the
biggest part of this series. Look at the Celtics, Look
how difficult hoops are for them because they can't find
a way to solve the Warriors defense. And this is
why the Warriors are where they are, and it's you know,

(03:37):
we're not going to look back at this final to
say it was well played. If the Warriors win, will
look back and say the fourth ring for Steph is
where does he isy on Mount Rushmore? The fourth ring
for Steve Kerr? Where does he rank? It'll be the
fourth championship for the Warriors. But are we gonna come
out of this with unbelievable uh memories of this play
and this play and this play probably not. Kind Of

(03:59):
like the NBA playoffs in general, the drama has been great,
which is a plus, which it always is that it's
like the game. The NBA doesn't even need the games.
We just need the drama. Just give us the drama
because it's so great and the games are secondary. Sometimes
it's not been a great NBA playoffs, but we're getting
a star started NBA Finals right now. We're gonna have
great stuff to talk about after, which is, hey, okay,

(04:20):
we when the games aren't that great, finals aren't that great.
We got great storylines anyway to talk about. It's kind
of a fun thing for the NBA. Yeah, I mean
The biggest thing is that we've had great basketball in chunks, right,
compartmentalized segmentation, all of those things, right go back to
when the Celtics had those four or five minute defensive

(04:42):
wizardry kind of sequences where they're holding the Warriors scoreless.
That's a pretty tall task, right, doing that against this
squad that that scored with ease all the way through
the Western Conference playoffs and throughout the regular season. So
you've seen that and shooting barrages insert player here. Everyone

(05:03):
every goal is every guy that's played has had some
sequence where it's like, all right, this guy can't miss
right now, or he's dominating in the lower post, or
you're looking at Robert Williams like anything coming into the
lane and he can test he's getting a finger out.
He's got five blocked shots tonight and a couple that
well should have been blocked shots instead just a little
bit of body enough to get the falcon alright, he

(05:25):
just blocked a three point shot by George that kind
of thing going on. So everybody's had their moments, and
it's just a matter of, all right, how do you
do the super cut to make it look really good?
Because you're gonna need to do that for an hour.
D that they're gonna sell immediately after the the championship
is won by other team. Can I tell you something

(05:46):
I've never told you in all the time I've known you,
what's the last nine years? I love the way you
say wizard and wizardry. It's I could I could listen
to you say the word wizard or wizardry the the
entire You know what's funny is, I don't know where
they get that wards from. You get that art at
the end the people that it's a wizard. You know
people it's a wizard. They know, but you make sure

(06:07):
to get that are it's wizard, it's wizardry. They have
I that that where that wizard? I love that moderately
stolen from Dill Walner one stolen from it. Especially down
there's wizardry going on everywhere. Jordan's pool in his wizardry.

(06:27):
He's like the wizard in the Black Sabbath Song. He's
the pinball Wizard, He's Dumbledore, he's everything. He's wizardry. I
can't even I can't even do wizardry. Well, you know what,
they're probably gonna be some more opportunities for me dust
that one off before this is done. A lot of
wizardry going on. So again, Warriors with the lead over

(06:50):
the Celtics. They have now pushed a lead to fourteen
uh eighty four to seventy. Still with about seven minutes
left to go in this game, are the Celtics gonna
have enough or a big comeback? We'll have more on
this coming up in a few minutes, but outside of this,
we watch today Lamar Jackson meet the media for the

(07:11):
first time in O t a s and amidst his
big question mark of a contract situation, no one really
knows what he wants. He doesn't have an agent. He
probably wants more money than the Baltimore Ravens want to
give him. We don't know. Isn't that generally the case?
Like the next time I talked to our bosses and

(07:31):
I throw a number at him, I fully anticipate they're
gonna say, maybe you're reaching for the sun. But that's
the thing nobody knows. Because Jackson, like he doesn't have
an agent, no one knows what he wants. The Ravens say,
we're ready to give him a lot of money, and
and they and today Lamar Jackson said, we're talking will
you play in this fall without a contract. We're we're

(07:51):
out a new contract. We're talking about it. Will you
report without a new deal? We're talking about it. It's
just weird. I don't get this. But he can't be
that mad because he's there for O. T A S.
And he's leading the team, so so it's not like
he's so mad and I want a new deal and
I'm showing you I mean business. He's there, so he
can't be that mad. It's just weird. But when a

(08:14):
guy functions as his own agent, yeah, things are gonna
get weird. It's why you have an agent, because he
prevents you from getting caught up in things like personal
phone calls about what we would give you money wise,
and what we're ready to do, what we're not. No,
your agent protects you from That's why I always say,
if you can get an agent, get an agent, and
your agent you can do everything. Let your agent do

(08:34):
the money. That's what I would tell when anybody asked
me do I need an agent? I tell him the
same thing. I go, yes, get an agent, And well,
what does that mean with my relationships with my bosses
and with everybody, and I go, you can have you
can talk to your boss, is about anything. Don't talk
about money. Let your agent do the money. That's the thing.
Your agent does the money. Anything else on the you
can put out there. You can tell hey, I would

(08:54):
like to do this, I would like this. I like this, Garret.
When it comes to money, let your agent talk about
the money. Because this is where things it weird, right
and now things are weird because you can see the
ravens are sitting around going whenever he wants to talk
to us, will talk to him. I got a big
message for Lamar Jackson, uh going into this year because
I told you if he goes in looking for a

(09:15):
new contract and he's gonna play out this year, oh boy,
is he gonna have an m v P type season right,
betting on himself like Aaron Judge. That's exactly what Lamar
Jackson is doing. But here's the thing, and this is
this is what I would say too. If you want
to do this, great, if you believe in yourself, awesome.
But I gotta tell you something, Lamar, your effectiveness is

(09:36):
on a three year decline. Okay, it has been a
three year decline for Lamar Jackson across the board in
everything when it comes to what he's been able to
do at quarterback everything, you know. I mean, it's not
like I'm not lying to I'm not making stuff up.
You know, I'm telling you exactly the truth about Lamar Jackson. Right,
his completion percentages down every year for the past three years. Right,

(09:59):
his yards are down every year. His touchdowns are down. Right,
his quarterback rating is down, his rushing yards are down,
his rushing touchdowns are down. The only thing that's up
is his interceptions. So you're doing this and trying to say, hey,
I'm gonna go get all this money. I can do
what I want coming off a three year downturn and
going into this year where the Ravens really didn't do

(10:20):
anything to help get you better over the course of
this year. So I know that you're going into this
year where if the Ravens wanted to, they could franchise
you for another couple of years. Uh, you know, you're
really gonna need to show that you're still a great
and elite quarterback because there's whispers now that are you
really that good? And I get hey, bet on yourself

(10:43):
and go. I think that's awesome. But this is why
you need an agent to sit back and tell you, Hey,
just so you know, this is where things are at
right now, and you've gotta kind of grab what you
can when you can. Baltimore is happy with this situation,
are you kidding? They know they're gonna have to give
you all kinds of money at some point as long
as you're still great, and if you're not, guess what,

(11:04):
they don't have to You are playing into their hands
by doing this. You are absolutely playing into their hands
by saying, yeah, you'll pay me, pay people. Oh okay, Hey,
we're good with Lamar for this year under that under
oh great, that's a that's a bargain for us. Man,
he's as good as the guys making forty million dollars
a year. This is all good. Oh and he wants
to make maybe push it till next year. Yeah, okay,

(11:26):
it's another year. We don't have to pay him. Baltimore
is eminently okay with the storyline going out like this.
That's why they seem so friendly. It's why they seem
so Gooday, Lamar, you talk to us when you're ready.
It's why they're not calling him every day. Hey, we
gotta call Lamar Jackson every day because we got to
give more money and and really hamstring our our team
for being able to go get free agent next couple
of years. No, he doesn't want money this year. We

(11:47):
won't give him any money this year. This is gonna
be awesome. So I get what he's doing. I understand,
but understand that this is really playing into the into
the raves if you really want to stay there, and
he said today he wants to be there for his
entirety of his career. Um, yeah, while you're doing this,
this is also absolutely what the Ravens would love to do.

(12:08):
Let's draw this out because let's just say you don't
have a great year this year. Let's say it's another
year where it's sixteen touchdowns and thirteen picks and you
get hurt again. Um is you Are you gonna get
all that money you want? Are you gonna get two
fifty million dollars? Guaranteed? You're not? And then if you
want to wait another year, and we're going I'm gonna
bet on myself again because you're six years old. You
don't have another year. Uh, your your money is going down.

(12:30):
So while I get what he's doing. This is why
you have an agent so they can tell you about
the money and say, look, this is where you're at. Uh,
this is where you could be at. And this is
why the Ravens are being so nice to you because
they're okay, not giving you money right now. Yeah, I
wonder where the gap is between what he has in
his mind versus what's being offered, because there's gotta be

(12:52):
piles of paper and plenty of emails and phone calls
that that have been made back and forth. Now it's
just a question of you know what that gap leaving
on the table. You know, I like the bet on
yourself to a point. But when we're talking about the NFL,
where there's massive money in the signing bonus, right because
as much as you can play on the franchise and
that number is in the mid forties, that's all find good.

(13:15):
But the way you play the game, the way injuries
really hit, that old line kind of showed. And he's
not a guy that's taken a lot of big hits,
but he did miss four games last year. Right, yards
per game was up passing wise to to forty. But
still you know, plenty to to build on and in theory.
The running backs will be back and ready to go,

(13:35):
and the offensive line, so I expect better things. We've
talked about that, but he is playing a dangerous game,
no question about it. Be sure to catch live editions
of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at
ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
and the I Heart Radio Lap. Taking a victory sip
of my diet coke, I mean no, not because the

(13:56):
NBA Finals, I got that wrong. No, the Mets one tonight, uh,
but the NBA Finals Right now, we are just moments
away from a coronation of the Golden State Warriors and
their fourth championship and a cemented NBA Finals m v P.
The long awaited cemented NBA Finals m v P for

(14:18):
Steph Curry. There is a minute thirty left in this game.
The Celtics tried to make a game out of it,
but the Warriors run their twenty one oh run early
in the first half, proving to be just way too much.
It is six with ninety seconds left to go and
get ready for the Golden State Warriors NBA champions once again.
What a trash effort down the strategy you you America

(14:42):
an apology for trying to perpetrate Jayson Tatum as a superstar,
for one, because we've gotten down the stretch here and
they're looking for Al Horford in offensive sets and and
he's the last option. Tatums clapping for them all, going hey,
how about me? And then they got it to him
on the baseline a couple of sequence, says Ago, and
he traveled, he traveled, He took a couple of steps

(15:05):
before putting the ball on the court. And you're looking
going what what happened? This was supposed to be your moment.
You've been to come up big and big games all
through the playoffs, and today has just been an absolute failure,
abject failure and misery for Jayson Tatum because he's gonna
wear every bit of this finals. As to where the

(15:29):
distances and and for a dooka, now you got the
big question. You got the guys that calls for a
couple of and we got plenty of time to break
it down as it finishes, But big questions as to
you got here? You want a couple of games. You
were seemingly in control and then it all fell apart
and you can't just say, hey, we're young, because that's crap,
because you may never have the opportunity again. We got there.

(15:51):
You gonna set the finals on five. That's kind of
what they did. Terrible, terrible to arible and really really bad.
They got it down to eight and then just like
that snap of a finger, back up to fifteen. And
now we sit at a thirteen point margin, coming up
on a minute, with prices sore, and at the pump,

(16:13):
Discovers got your back with cash back. He was discovered
to earn five percent cash back at gas stations and
Target now through June on up to five hundred dollars
and purchases when you activate learn more at discover dot com.
Slash rewards limitations they do apply. So yes, that's where
we sit right now, under a minute left to go,
one oh one to eight. Golden State's gonna win this

(16:35):
series in six games, and we're gonna debate Steph Curry
in his place on Mount Rushmore and Draymond Green, and
maybe he'll just start recording his podcast right after. Maybe
he's already recording it. He should he's got something that
he should have a little mike attached right now and
and should just be feeding information here I was. I
was miked up from my podcast. Wait now for the

(16:58):
corporate partner Go podcast. Tonight's podcast brought to you by
Valvolene and the Army be all that. What's going on
with Draymond over on the sideline, Well, he's changing his
battery pack for the microphone he's wearing while he's recording
his podcast live. I mean he's streaming live as I
go through. It's an alternate version. I thought that was

(17:19):
a muscle massager. No, no, no, no, I need this
to people record the podcast. I can't do without it.
It's gotta be it. Unbelievable. Twenty two turnovers, Jason twenty
two turnovers for the Boston Celtics, and right now they're
doing the long shot of Jayson Tatum head down wondering
where it all went wrong, and your guy chewing his mouthpiece.
There it is. Oh, he did it for all of

(17:41):
America because he knows how much they hate it. Celtics
starters coming out of the game, they are calling off
the dogs. This is gonna be it. But before he finishes,
we actually have audio of some upset Celtics fans who
got too close to Steph Curry, a couple of times
during the game to you know, stef hitting those three's right,

(18:02):
and he's and he's and he you know, he's making
the thing, giving me the ring and uh, we have
sound of Steph Curry trying to get back at the
Celtics fans that were crowding him too much. Let's hear it.
Not happy. He shouldn't be. He's not happy. Now, don't
stand so close to me. Although a couple of times

(18:22):
he kind of instigated it by after, you know, and
a nice wide open layup because of the disappearance of
would be defenders from the Boston Celtics. We could leave
that behind. A couple of times one on one it's like,
where'd my defender go? Oh, there's an easy lamp and
he would run towards the baseline and is close to
the fans to pose and preen and and look, I

(18:43):
I'm not I celebrate all of it, you know what
own the moment and that's what he's doing. Yeah, I
mean he was giving them the nappy time simple Just
a second ago. Andre Iguadala coming into the game for
the Warriors, and remember when I won the m v P.
Remember when I won the m v P a few
years ago. Now it's okay for Stef to have Remember
I pass on the court. He comes into the game

(19:08):
for Andrew Wiggins. It's a it's a thirteen point Golden
State Warrior lead. Now we are under thirty seconds left
to go, and uh, Steph Curry is dribbling the ball
very excitedly. Uh near the near half court, just watching
the time tick down. Dell Curry is clapping. Everybody's going nuts.
Steff throws up a three from the logo that misses. Uh.

(19:29):
So we are just seconds away from having the Golden
State Warriors become your NBA champions. They have the ball
in the front court. Time is ticking down. Look, Steph
Curry getting very emotional. Oh, I'm going to be the
m v P. This is so unbelievable. I got it,
I got it. Steve Curry is just like, yeah, another day,

(19:50):
just another day for me. Steve Curse is standing out. Yeah. Whatever,
you know how many rings I got? Now? Not to uh.
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon,
we now officially have breaking news to tell you about. Now.
Normally would be the Mets and the big win tonight

(20:11):
over the Brewers but Steve Disager has something a little
bit bigger. The Golden State Warriors have one another NBA title,
one oh three to ninety the final Steph Curry with
thirty four points. He could be named Finals m v P.
He averaged about thirty a game the first three games,
then when they tied up the series last Friday night,
he scored forty three. This is four titles in the

(20:34):
last eight years for the Golden State Warriors. And remember
a couple of seasons ago they had the worst record
in the league and last year losing the playing game,
they didn't make the postseason at all. And now if
you look at NBA history, Celtics still tied with the
Lakers seventeen championships overall. Who's number three all time, it's

(20:55):
the Warriors franchise with seven two NBA champion and Scolden
State Warriors taking Game six at Boston tonight, one oh
three to ninety. Back to you, thank you very much,
Steve appreciated my friend The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon.
With prices soaring at the pump, Discover has got your
back with cash back. You've discovered to earn five percent
cash back at gas stations and target now through June

(21:17):
on up to fift dollars and purchases when you activate.
Learn more at discover dot com. Slash rewards limitations they
do apply. Well. The party is on on the court
in Boston. Steph Curry has got the basketball. He's hugging
everybody he can, and yeah, it's just gonna be a
few moments from to be named NBA Finals m v P.
There is no other possible outcome for this. You can

(21:39):
make a somewhat of a case for Andrew Wiggins. Hey,
Jordan's pool was good too, but you know what, look Steph, Yeah, Steph.
Steph had it after Game four, right as long as
they were winning the finals. Steph Curry had his first
NBA Finals m v P after Game four. He had
a bad Game five. The only thing I wish that
people could have said, yeah I've had a bad game,

(22:01):
watch out in game six, because here he is in
game six, a game high thirty four points and seven assists,
seven rebounds. He was phenomenal. A well deserved m v
P for Steph Curry. And now people are people already
all over my time like going, oh, Chase, you gotta
say good things about Steph Curry. Yes, yes, yes, I know.
I'm just more upset than I picked the Celtics to
win the series and they didn't do it. Yeah, No,

(22:21):
I'm salty about that. They let me down because really,
what I did bank on young fresh legs. Because we
talk about it all the time, right, you you coach
your daughters squads, you know, softball and soccer, and what's
the expectation two hours later? Let's go again, and here
obviously the grind of the Eastern Conference, and say what
you will, and people will make their jokes, they'll talk

(22:43):
about the knicks, uh, and that it's still it took
extra games? Were they sloppy in some of those circumstances
to force an extra game which the fatigue sets in? Absolutely? Uh?
In this I didn't think the inexperience would necessarily rise
up to the same level, right of concern, and certainly
coming out in game one, hey, other than that barrage

(23:06):
of layups in the first few minutes, they played a
strong games like all right, they recovered, they now got
their identity. Here we go. And then the last couple
of games, you're you're putting your hands on your head,
whether you're a Celtics fan or just watching the NBA.
The Warrior fans were too busy cheering and screaming. But
you know, for you and I having picked that, look,

(23:26):
I just wanted a good series and I'm a bit
disappointed with some of the effort. Uh down the stretch, Uh, fatigue, circumstances,
whatever it is, like Jason Datum and there's just so
many questions about him going into the offseason right now.
So congratulations the Steph Curry and the Warriors. Uh, nobody
bought the narrative that you're trying to sell. But if

(23:48):
it worked in the room that you were underdogs and
nobody believed in you, that's fine. That's fine. Whatever's gonna
feel you back towards greatness. It all worked in here.
A fantastic effort in Game six for death to close
it out. Twitter at how about a fresca? Mike has
swollen down the Jason Spitzer with Mike Carmen. Now, we
got a lot on stuff coming up, a lot on
on the Warriors winning. But just to throw this out there,

(24:11):
Jayson Tatum, as you mentioned, who now let me down?
And I feel like, boy, I feel bad because I
feel like I let everybody down, because I believe in
Jayson Tatum. He is the first player in NBA history
with one hundred turnovers in a single postseason. And already
the picture making its way around the internet is the
picture of Wilt holding up the one hundred piece of

(24:33):
paper from his underd point game, which Jason Tatum's face over.
It's a cruel world. Man. Let me tell you six
of eighteen from the field tonight, thirteen points, seven assists,
but five turnovers. And I think that's the scores being
kind as to how many he was credited with their

(24:54):
uh curiously never found that fourth foul, but just out
of sorts and really invisible down the stretch. Look, let
me just say this, and there may be no more
true thing that I say tonight than this. Jayson Tatum
should stay off of social media for the next month.
Don't deactivate your account because the Celtics got to the finals.
You want to celebrate that at some point, But yeah,

(25:16):
the next month, you knew, no, no, no, stay away,
stay away, stay away. You know, I anointed him a
star and I said he's gonna win the m v
P in the NBA next year, And maybe he does,
because maybe this absolutely spurs him onto having a having
a better season and being a bigger leader. Because when
you blow chunks in the finals like Jayson Tatum did,

(25:40):
and you basically blow chunks throughout the playoffs, you did
not shoot well at all. He was uneven at best.
And and for Tatum who did who I will say
did a really good job being able to to incorporate
his teammates when he wasn't shooting well. But that's gotta
be like one or two games a series. It can't
be like four or five games in this series. Right.

(26:00):
You need to score. You can't just be a volume shooter.
You know, You're not James Harden, You're not k D.
I mean they need you to score, score within the
offense and be that superstar. And he struggled in a
big way, and he got lost and never found his way.
And even in games when he shot well, statistically, we
go back to to the beginning of Game five, right,

(26:21):
he didn't take his first shot until two minutes to
go in the first quarter. The team is already down
six team, What the hell is that? Alright? Like I
feel but I feel bad telling you about how much
I believe and how great I thought Jayson Tatum wasn't
he was ready to ascend and take that next step.
Dominant potential NBA Finals m v P and and he's
gonna be the Celtics guy at the second lowest odds
coming in besides Steph Curry and oh boy, Jason Time.

(26:44):
I I feel I feel bad. It's one of those
where I want to where the lights go on and
I go, hey man, I'm not over here, don't look
at me. I feel bad. I feel I feel awful
about telling everybody about Jayson Tatum. Here's one I found
by off Twitter earlier today was Kirk Goldsberry. Uh. And
his name is his Twitter account. Uh. The on three
point shots in the finals coming into tonight, Tatum was

(27:06):
nineteen of forty fourteen and thirty one on layup, four
of twenty two on two point jumpers, one of five
on shots out of the post, and oh for four
on floaters the last two whatever the others. We could
just go through the shot charts, uh and take a
look on that, but I mean just showing the ineffectiveness.

(27:28):
And then tonight again offensive sets where it was all right.
Horford's found the stroke. Jalen Brown has taken taken over.
Those are the two guys we've got to get the ball.
And for Al Horford, look, there were a couple of
plays down the stretch and the officials for the most part,
just let them get after it. Not a ton of
free throws, and after some early falls that kind of

(27:50):
changed a little of how the game was being played.
They did swallow their whistle, uh, their collective whistle most
of the way through. But you know a couple of
times where Horford, you know, look like he'd been filed
and going back the other way. And as the Celtics
were wont to do, what did they do? Complain to
the referees. Get back on defense, all right? The rules

(28:11):
of engagement were established in the first two to three minutes,
really not calling a lot of this. They're gonna let
you beat each other up. It's game six of the finals,
so stop complaining to the reps. And this has been
a constant theme game after game is get back in
your set and get back to playing basketball. I feel
so much shame, my Carment, I feel shame, shame, shame.

(28:33):
Bring out the bell shame. I feel so much shame.
You've perpetrated a fraud. Is this greater or less than
Lebron and Culver City and his Beata place. Uh no,
this is worse now that this is worse because I
because I did this. I did this about this shame. Yes,
I did there it is Shane. I'm sorry, Jane. I'm

(28:56):
so sorry, Shane. I'm sorry, Shane. I'm sorry. We're gonna
start crying like your Harvey Git tellent the bad exactly
that guttural Shane, Shane. Hey, Hey the Mets, Shane from
down three zip in the NLC and leaving on the Mets. Shane.

(29:16):
I know, I know, Shane, but I really feel like
I'm being reprimanded. This is terrible. Yeah, you're wearing it.
This is awful. I need you know what I need?

(31:04):
play Yes, I know, I I I feel like there's
a guy standing right behind me with the bell saying shame. Um,
we'll have more on the Celtics because look, the story
in the losing locker room is a interesting one. But uh,
to no one's surprise, Steph Curry was just named NBA
Finals m v P. I'm sure many of the votes

(31:24):
were in after Game four. Uh, not that he needed
to validate with a big game tonight, but you could
see where you could make the argument he Andrew Wiggins
with the thirty point game and Steph Curry with another dud.
Could Wiggins sneak in? No, this was the narrative all along.
Voters want Steph Curry to win the m v P.
Rick Buker, who's gonna join us in about a half hour,

(31:46):
has told us the over him, the overwhelming desire of
people who cover players to to give them an award
for access of some kind. It happens, you know. And
and look, that desire and that storyline was there before
the NBA Finals began. But Steph Curry did nothing but
earn this. He was great the first four games, had
a bad game in game five, okay, great game tonight

(32:08):
and leading the Warriors to the win, and more importantly,
when it looked like the Celtics were coming back and
they were cutting the lead to nine and eight, Curry
would hit a big three. He would get a layup
and a big scoop shot in the lane and it
would stem the tide and hold the Celtics back. Absolutely
deserves Steph Curry or m v P. And and it's

(32:29):
a load of crap if if you hear people with
the narrative of oh, you know, the m v P
probably doesn't mean that much of No, it means everything
he's been hearing four years about how well, can you
really be one of the all time grades if you
don't win NBA Finals m v P, if your team
won three and you didn't win any of them, Uh,
can you really be at all time great? Because that's
that's what people use to support it, which is kind

(32:50):
of a it's kind of a tired argue, Well you
gotta be. No, you don't have to be the m
v P to win, But it doesn't matter because that's
what was the big thing people harped on him four
well when the finals MVP with the Finals m v P. Look,
I tell you about Curry being the system quarterback and
being lifted up by the system he is in that's
legit not you know, not win an MBA final. Who
cares when in the NBA Finals m v P, you

(33:12):
know Shaq and Kobe when the Lakers won that first
three did did? It didn't matter that shack. You know,
if if he's winning every m v P or if
Kobe won every, no, it doesn't matter. But he needed
this because he it's a different time now and the
social media sphere and the haters and people that want
to say stuff about him. He needed to win the
m v P. That's why he was crying. That's why

(33:32):
he was so emotional because he knew I won this
on the m v P and now no one can
really criticize me. Again. I have exercised all my demons. Yeah,
he absolutely needn't wanted to win this m v P. Yeah,
because here's the thing. You can even say that the
narrative has always been well in fourth quarters and big
games in the finals, and this and that uh comes

(33:53):
up small. Uh. He went four for six in the
fourth quarter, also had uh four free throws. It was
four for four from the line, but three of his
four shots Jason point blank range on the drive on
the cut three layups, one three point shot and then
one of the three point This is was from about
thirty eight feet uh. As this time was winding down. Yeah,

(34:17):
I'll put it up one more time. Let's see if
we can get the crowd to lose their minds uh
and and really stare at me in a whole other
way as you watch the numbness take over there in Boston.
But yeah, there's always gonna be detractors. I can't wait
to see what the next line is. But four titles
coming back just a couple of years ago, all the injuries,

(34:38):
all the issues that they had, absolute dead last in
the Western Conference, and now you rise back up a
couple of young guys that aren't even part of the
squad getting you there. But for Steph Curry, Yeah, he
eat heard all the noise. It's the one thing that
we know from this NBA Playoffs more than anything beyond
the growth of layer lad podcasts, beyond the um barking matches.

(35:05):
I'll keep it clean for the good folks between players
and media people on Twitter and elsewhere, is that everybody
knows and we always knew it, but now it's been
validated time and again that they hear and see everything
spoken about them and every graphic that goes up that
puts them in any bit of a negative light. And

(35:26):
Steph Curry tonight will probably have somebody pull out every
one of the receipts and start sending them back Twitter.
And how about a fresca. Mike gets swollen down The
