(01:13):
coming out of the National League when it comes to
MVP odds. After what Kyle Schwarber did tonight, you're.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Really not happy about that. I gave you that number
and you got mad at me.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
I can't believe it.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
It was my fault.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah, I think it is. Well, I'll blame you for
I'll blame you for a lot of you do have
for a decade, man, going the Jets going for two
on Sunday against the Steelers, which I knew was going
to kill them in the end. I blame you for that.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
What but Aaron Glenn had to set the culture. What
about Jalen Ramsey's tackle that harmone fault? Oh? Man?

Speaker 1 (01:41):
And the thing is I saw that. I saw that
tackle coming from twenty miles. I said, oh my god,
he's gonna it's a hospital ball to Garrett Wilson because
I could see Jalen Ramsey right by. He just broke
three of his ribs. Yeah, oh my goodness. Ray Charles
saw that. Oh my goodness. Oh that was what I
saw it, him going, don't just run it just oh no,

(02:01):
he just got destroyed.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Bad things. Man.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, at that moment, I don't think Errett Wilson that
thrilled with his college teammate. I don't know he's there there, dude,
you just threw a hospital ball to me.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Man, we had a lot of those. We had a
DJ Moore one and on the other side, you know,
while he was getting potentially hospitalized getting hit, Caleb Williams
is getting drilled at the other end of it. So
you know, a lot of those across the NFL. If
only there was a segment you could do on television
to highlights such plays.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
You got wrecked up, right, we could do racked up right,
racked up. No one has that right look up, rackedorre
You can do racked up, racked up.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
It's fun. I mean, look, there's lots of things you
can try to file a trademark for, and you got
as Bill Belichicket and and his uh friend found out,
that doesn't always happen so easily.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
I'm checked up about that too. I don't know what
I'm supprobed. Well, first of all, this story just continues
on with no when shows you the bloodlust that we all.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Have angry culture.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
I don't know what's more shocking the fact that we
told I had been a big story the last few
days Philly Karen the woman who berated a guy who
got a ball in the stands after a Harrison bade
her home run and the guy took the ball from
his son and gave it to her because she was
just yelling at him so much during the game.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Now, if she really wanted the ball, she could have
made an effort to actually catch it, which it was
good that was there.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
She never had the ball, right, I mean, this made
no effort actually try to catch it, just watched it hit.
She never had She reached down to grab it and
the guy grabbed it before she got it, and she thought, oh,
this is my this is my ball, and I'm going
to go and yell at this guy. But until however long.
Now I get the guy was in shock. I understand this, right,
I understand this. And there are certain moments where you

(03:48):
see somebody do something you go I would have never
done that. Yeah, you come try that with me, I'd
have kicked your ass. Right, But that's a situation where
if that happened to me and I gave Zoe a
ball and this woman's coming over yelling at me, I'm
not taking that ball away from giving it back to
that woman I'm just telling her the same, ma'am, go
sit down, man, ma'am, go sit down. Man, please go
sit down. That's all I would say, mam, please sit down,

(04:08):
because I've been in situations like that before. Did just
go sit down, sir, go sit down, Go sit down,
Go sit down, Go sit down, mam, go sit down,
go sit down, Go sit down. So I first, I
don't know what's more shocking the fact that he took
the ball from his kid and gave it to her. Now,
obviously it worked out well for him because he got
to meet batter and got a bat and got some goodies,
so it turned out really positive.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Would you have eventually gone sit down? You're rocking the boat?
But I mean, because that's really kind of where you
were going.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
People said, sit down, rocking the boat? Uh so, But
I don't really, I don't know what's more shocking the
fact that he gave the ball back to her or
that no one can find her. I mean, there's pretty
clear anybody else that's ever been in the stands that
that that has been involved in a freaks for a
ball or a fight. Hey, we need your help finding

(04:50):
this person. The person gets found within the day this
is somebody that everybody can't stand and and she's pretty
distinctive looking, right, the blonde hair, with the with the
with the dark shaved close and the glasses like, Okay,
she's pretty distinctive looking like you could like you just
think like guys, look back and go okay. She kind
of looks like Sally Jesster Rafael a little.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Bit and yeah, yeah, you want to explain to millennials,
Oh sallow.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Sally jess Rafael was a mid afternoon talk show host
in the nineteen nineties. It gained a very big degree
of fame. So that's kind of what she looks like.
And I'm and it was pretty clear video of her
there all over the internet and nobody can find her.
And today the dad put out a statement saying, listen,
if you do find her taking easy on, I want
this to go away. I want this to be done.
And I agree because I worry for her a little

(05:37):
bit because again people want blood from her, right, because
it's all all of this, you know, all this going on.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Well, you've had a bunch of other people misidentified. Right,
there's a new Jersey woman. Okay, I'm not the crazy
Philly mom. I was sure wish I was as thin
as she is and moving to fast and I'm a
Red Sox fan. Leave me alone, Like, there's so many
other people that have been you know what, it might
be you. It's like people are just sitting you, scrolling
on Facebook, Instagram, whatever. It's like, yeah, they kind of

(06:05):
look like that woman, Like this might be you.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
There's no way people who know her don't know about
this and haven't told anybody, like.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Maybe maybe she got disappeared just from a hey, no no, no, no,
just from a You're gonna disappear for a couple of days.
We're gonna change your hair color. We're gonna get you
some new frames for your glasses.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
You're like Haarson Ford in the future exactly, color your hair,
get a ball cap, and away you go. And Frostburg
sent me a thing today. There's already the the the
Philly Karen Halloween costume. Yeah, Philly's jersey and the wig
and the and the glasses and the jeans. I mean,
it's it's insane coming soon to a to a spirit

(06:47):
Halloween near you. The two biggest things one is I
really I'm stunned that no one's found her, especially now
she's got an offer out there for one of the
card companies.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, I'm not gonna give them credit for because this
is this is a shameless We're gonna get bunch of
free advertising.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
We're going to We'll pay you five thousand dollars for
the ball, but you have to write on the ball
I'm sorry. And those people would take the ball and
give it to the kid. Yeah, the five grand is insulting.
That's why this is nothing but a I get a bunch.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Of three balls.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
It's a ball really worth that much.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
But it's more just given given the largess of this story.
The last couple couple of days, we've seen what the
market does with chaotic stuff like that. It's worth far
more than five thouars.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Come in at ten grand, and see if we talk,
come in at twenty grand. Either way, they got far
more than five thousand dollars of advertising by people mentioning
their name, which is I'm not gonna help them, right,
but she's got a right, I'm sorry, it is she
really going to do that?

Speaker 2 (07:40):
So I really am.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
I am stunned that no one's been able to find her.
Like I started thinking, what is it, like does she
just disappeared? But obviously someone that wants to get into
someone of the game like that. I don't think it's
a shrinking violet. Probably not so I think that. So
now I'm thinking, Okay, she has a really high ranking job,
and there's a lot of people that Hey, if I'm
the leak and she out on the leak, I don't
want people to know.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Do you get any court records of people who've gotten
some unreasonably long sentences the misdemeanors, and you think she's
a judge something like that, saying not saying I got
three years? So what did you do? Jaywaltton.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
This is like in the movie where the cops go
see the person in prison. They he goes, I got
something to deal. You get me to a better place,
or you get me more money in my in my account,
or or you know, I get it in my Counmissaria,
get you get me parole early, and I'll tell you
I've got something. What do you got for me? I
could give you Philly Karen tom right likely from the

(08:38):
headlines she possibly do well, well, how could we possibly
not know who she is? Right now? It's pretty it baffles.
Maybe the Hamilton School District, Philadelphia man maybe here's another one.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Also in I'm on Philly Burbsack comp The school district
in New Jersey had to put out a statement distancing
the district and their employees from the controversy after online
reports said the woman was an administrator there and had
been fired. Quote Philly's Karen is not and has never
been an employee of the Hamilton Public Schools. And then

(09:12):
they also set the record straight. They would have caught
the ball.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah, I realized it. Really it makes no sense that
no one can find like all of it. You would
think they would have found her after the game over.
People would have to have cell phone video of it.
And and there were so many interactions and altercations. Or
she exited the premises, like that's the other thing. It
wasn't just with this dad and the kid, like she

(09:36):
got into it verbally with a number of people before
before being escorted out. Maybe she came from another planet.
She came from alternate Earth, came she changed like the
one where the Fantastic four is right, which is what
does that said? Fantastic seven eighteen yea, But she came
from the Fantastic seven to one to eight, and she
came here because she wanted to get to a world

(09:56):
where the Philadelphia Phillies were good and like okay. So
she finally got here okay on six one six, and
then it was oh man, I'm too fad. I got
to get out. And now she's back on the Fantastic
four world with that ball.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Maybe that, I mean, I really I don't know what
it is. I don't know what.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Sure, you're not watching Peacemaker.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
But the but the but the the other thing of this,
the serious thing, is that she needs to come forward.
Its birthday the way eight two eight nothing, because that's
somebody's birthday. I think it's Steve Ditko's birthday, and it
was because that's the six and one six is stan Lee's,
but it was Jack Kirby's, Jack Kurk's it. So she
really needs to come forward because and this is where

(10:33):
you see how this is going, like that people have
blood in their eye and if she came forward, that
might stem the tide on this and that would put
this to bed. And she's see here we got four
days later and it's still where is Philly Karen? Who
is Philly Carre? Who is this batman? Peter Parker is
spider Man. Spider Man's the biggest menace we know in
this thing. But for her own safety, it's weird to

(10:56):
say that, but I feel like she's got to come forward,
tell her sigh to the story, and that'll take the
temperature down on it now. And whatever she does after that,
she does. She doesn't have to give the ball back
to the kid to be great. If she did, it'd
be great, But I think for her own safety rather
than hey, let people searching out to find you where
crazy stuff can happen, she's got to find a way

(11:16):
to come forward and lower the temperature on this. You know,
the guy's name is felt Well. Felt Well, Yeah, that's
his curtain Well quote. Please don't do anything to that lady,
he told USA Today Sports.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Leave it alone. You know somebody knows her and can
talk to her. That's different, But I don't want people
breaking in the house and all those kinds of things.
The Internet has already messed her up pretty good.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
And you know how Burman would announce the story, Oh boy,
and clearly TJ she felt well after getting that ball
from that guy and his kid DJ.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
But this is where AI also went berserk. Yes, right,
because you also had a bunch of interpretations of what
Philly karen and I hate saying it, like, yeah, I know,
but that's she, that's what that's what she has become
known as. But it's like, here's what she might have
said if she met with the media. I got the

(12:08):
ball and know all that kind of it's like the
fake Jerry Jones and we played all the time exactly.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
We're going to do things my way, and my way
is blank and terrible.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Just just so you know, look, I'm going to do
things my way and my way is terrible.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
You're getting close. He's coming back to you a little bit.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
He's coming back.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Yeah, all of this to say, the fact that this
has gone multiple days, yeah, it's not flowing down really
especially incredible.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Because you know Philadelphia, they let they let things like
this go after a couple of days, because.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
I guarantee, as we both stare at each other, it's like,
all right, there's your moment of silence. But I mean,
we're starting to get the identification of all the Rams
fans and involved in that altercation with the the Texans
fans on Sunday, right, that's starting to come to light, uh,
pretty quickly. Thereafter. So the fact that this is still
an unidentified woman in a very publicized altercation is really

(13:01):
the antithesis of what twenty twenty five has been and
what we've come to.

Speaker 1 (13:06):

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Well joining us.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Now, I'm the hotline someone who I'm gonna say this,
And I don't think this person wants everybody to know
that this is what he's been doing. But I feel
like if I have something that's newsworthy, I gotta say it.
He is longtime baseball insider MLB Network John Paul Morosi,
friend of the show on Twitter at John Morosi. He

(16:56):
has been undercover for MLB Network the past four days.
Is trying to find Philly Karen. Now, I don't know
where he is. I don't know how long his phone's
going to be good for, but undercover somewhere, maybe using
a fake accent, maybe wearing a trench coat with glasses
and a hat low down on his face. John Paul,
can you tell us where you are in your pursuit

(17:16):
of Philly.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Karen, Bago and Los Estados Nidos. I am I am
speaking as many different languages as I can during my
travels in search of Philly Karen as that she is
not my goodness, gracious, that didn't capture the imagination of

(17:42):
the American sports culture for a few days. It was
a little interrupted by the first weekend of the NFL.
But what I will say is this, I was very
happy that in the days that followed that we saw
many great examples shared on social media of the normal
course of such things, which is, you get a ball

(18:05):
and you share it with your with the kid that's
sitting right in the road behind you. That is good
fan behavior. And I am a firm believer that most
fans are good fans. Not all fans, as we were
reminded last week, but most fans. Most fans are good fans.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I was going to say, what's the over undraw when
we get back to normal here, JP, because I think
all of these people are going, I don't want to
be that woman.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Well, let's see, I mean, here's the thing, here's the thing, Mike,
what if and there could actually be a positive outcome here?
What if the way in which this thing has taken
over the conversation in our country? What if basically, and
while this might not be the most altruistic motivation of all.

(18:52):
But what if all fans end of the ballpark and
they say, oh, remember that game in Miami where the
Philly fan was cret You know what, if a ball
comes anywhere near me, I'm going to find the kid
with the biggest smile who's within a twenty foot radius,
and if I get the ball, it's going right to
him or her. And if that just becomes the prevailing

(19:15):
way that our society interacts with each other, wouldn't that
be a beautiful thing? I think that, and they might
sit in the back of my mind. I don't want
to wind up as a meme. You know what, if
that's what it takes to get you to do the
right thing, God bless you, That's what I'm going to say, right,
that's if that's what it takes. However you get there,

(19:37):
You get there, okay, whatever your motivation is, your heart
is winding up in the right place. And I'm thrilled
about that.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
It just described the entire legal there, that's what it is.
It's right.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
Well, we're just we're it's amazing. It's like by by acclamation,
by by acclamation, the social media mob has said Hey, hey,
we should orient ourselves kindness and justice and charity. If
it were only that easy in all areas of life.
But let's start small, guys. Let's start with conduct at

(20:08):
the baseball game and then go on to other matters
of civilization. How about that?

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Okay, let me ask you this now, John Paul, being
the being the reporter and inside again, I don't know
where you are in covering the story. But if I
could waive a magic one and I could say, all right,
John Paul, you can get the exclusive interview with show
Hayo Tani who wants to opt out of his Dodgers contract.
Now I'm making it up, obviously, but let's just say,

(20:35):
Juan Soto, show Hayo Tani want to opt out of
their contracts. You can get that exclusive interview. Or I
could get you the exclusive interview with Philly Karen. Which
one would you pick and which one would do better
for you and vault you into being the new Barbara
Walters of Major League Baseball.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
I would still say, see, I'm still hoping on the
Pope Leo interview. Don't go here that that opportunity never
quite materialized, And it seems to me there's there's a
couple siblings who have a particular football show who have
now attempted to try to interview Pope Leo as well.

(21:14):
So I may now have to get in line behind them.
They're a little more, a little more of a higher
notoriety than I am. But but I don't believe that
there has yet been a Pope Peyton or a Pope Eli.
There has been a Pope John Paul, actually multiple of them,
and so maybe that puts me ahead of that list

(21:36):
just a little bit.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Trying to find the the win as you go, a JP,
We've got a lot of these squads kind of limping
down the stretch. Here we see the Yankees today, the
Dodgers bullpen has given up. Well, some curiosity starters have
been pretty good since August first, but the bullpen struggling.

(21:57):
What your crystal ball look like for some of these
front runners, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
Cloudy, cloudy is how it looks. And here's and here's
why I say this. We've got the Yankees and Tigers
tomorrow in New York. Y'very excited about that matchup. The
Tigers are a team that certainly I'm close to them.
I live right there in Michigan, They're a good team,
and they have flaws, and if you hear my dad

(22:22):
say it, he's like, son, I'm not sure that they're
going to be able to get past the first round.
I'm worried about this. And then I look at the
Sanders the Dad, They're five percentage points. They almost are
the best record in the American League. And if you
talk to a Yankee fan, they're convinced that they're that
they're barely hanging on and they've got one of the
best run differentials in all of baseball. And so I

(22:44):
think this is just a function of having a very
well balanced Major League Baseball right now, and you're seeing,
i think, unfortunately for a number of teams, key injuries
happening at the worst possible times. Oman Anthony with the
Red Sox, Trey Turner with the Phillies. We just had
the news today about Boba chev but Toronto, although they

(23:06):
were able to come back and have a walk off win.
So the thing for me is the question, I think,
as you put it, do we see a Yankee Dodger
or is that the likely outcome? I think that the
Yankees have a better chance of getting back to the
World Series than the Dodgers do. That might be a

(23:29):
very unpopular take, and maybe I'm feeling really bold given
that the Yankees lost tonight by about nine runs, But
I just think that they have a little more certainty
about their overall club than the Dodgers did right now.
So I think it's certainly a more likely situation, to
be honest with both of you, that neither the Yankees

(23:53):
nor the Dodgers make it back. I think that it's
likely that we're gonna have a new America League champion
and a new National League champion. There's just I take
the field over both of those teams in each league
right now. I just think that's how well balanced the
overall MLB landscape is.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
John Paul Morose, the MLB Network Inside of our guest
Jason Smith Mike Harmon, live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
All right, so last week you joined us after Kyle
Schwarber hit nine home runs and drove in seventeen runs
in that big game, and we talked about the nl
MVP odds and how they were narrowing with him, and show,
Hey Otani, Schwarber hits his fiftieth home run tonight, He's

(24:30):
got Otanian home runs got him by almost forty RBI.
It's a really big deal. Otani's got him everywhere else where.
Do you think the voting is right now, John Paul,
That is.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
A great question. I still think right now it is
narrowly and I'm saying narrowly in favor of Otani, but
it's pretty close. And I think Schwarber right now is
very much narrowing what used to be, to your point,
a fairly significant gap. I just think that what Schwarber
does for that point so multifaceted, so important, and you

(25:04):
hit fifty home runs the select company of guys that
have ever done it. Of course, Otani's power is there,
and he's contributing in a meetingful way on the mound,
including last week. But I look at this as being
still Otani's award to lose. But you look at Schwarber,
his team, sorry Jason is almost certainly going to win

(25:27):
the National League and the Dodgers are in a real
fight to maintain the top spot in the National League West.
If the Dodgers fall into second place, and if Otani
loses any steam in the next couple of weeks, I
really think there's a path for Schwarber. There is a
much better path for Shober than I ever thought there was.

(25:50):
And then in the American League side, I'm fascinated the Mariners.
If they closed out this win tonight, there are only
one game back of the Astros in the West, and
Raleigh continue to mash home runs. I think again, it's
still narrowly in favor of Judge, but Raleigh is closed
and fast. I think we could have a surprise. As

(26:10):
much as Judge and Otani, they're great choices. They were
great choices last year. They'd be great choices this year.
But I think that both Schwarbur and Raleigh are making
this far closer than a lot of people thought.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
They would judge. With the narrow edge, we'd be remiss.
I mean, yet, last week he gave us some really
great football picks. The Lions play the Bears. Both of
them weren't bad.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
No, okay, now, And the thing is, John Paul actually
messaged me and said, hey, I was really close with
my picks last week. Now he's an NFL inside He goes, hey,
do you think you can bring that back so people
would know I'm telling the truth. So here John Paul's
football picks from last week.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
I've been reflecting on this for a long time, and
I'm gonna throw you a bit of a curve ball.

Speaker 7 (26:58):
Well night, Week one on the final score will be
green Bay twenty four Detroit seventeen.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
So just make.

Speaker 7 (27:04):
Sure that Dan Buyer is aware that I that I've
made this prediction in favor of the Wisconsin ice and
that I've got and I've got green Bay winning by
a final score of twenty four to seventeen.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Wow, a guy taking the under and he has them
losing out right.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
John Paul's gonna be liking you know, in the old
like in the seventies when when a college football coach
lost a game and that night like people would put
for sale signs in his yard. Like that's gonna happen
now John Paul's house. Oh you picked against us the
for sale side for least, I.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Mean, it makes it a little more authentic. He can't
always he can't always just blindly pick the team. And
I see the Packers is having a little little better
of a little better of a I just think that
they're at home, the whole Lambeau thing, and that they've
had a good training camp, good preseason. I think the
Packers have a little momentum here.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Let's see if he's got the guts to double down.
Michigan getting four and a half against Oklahoma.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
Now now again, I'm gonna have to go. I hope
they still let me fly back tomorrow, but I'm gonna go.
I'm gonna go Oklahoma. I'm gonna go Oklahoma thirty one,
Michigan twenty one, thirty one, twenty one suitors.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
All right, wow, that's a pet I still love my
home state.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
I'm just telling you what I think the reality is right.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Now, Proud Michigan, Proud Michigan or John paulm ROSSI voting
no confidence in Bryce Underwood.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
All right, great, the legend that I'm glad you guys.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
I'm glad you guys didn't ask about what I think.

Speaker 7 (28:34):
About Michigan State Boston College because I think DC probably
wins that game too.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
He's got the hat trip.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
He hated the entire state of Michigan this weekend. He
was right, nearly right with the scores as well. John Paul,
well done, my friend.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
Well here, I appreciate that in fairness, uh two out
of three because my dad is a proud MSU allowing
the Spartans came back to win that game at overtime.
What a what a dramatic conclusion that was. Now here's
what I've got, Lions Bears. I've noticed that the spread

(29:10):
on this is Lions minus six, which I think is
right around where I believe this game is going to be.
So I've got I've got Lions twenty one, Bears thirteen.
So it's twenty one thirteen game to the Lions. They're
going to be able to win by by more than
the spread, is what I've got. And and then Michigan,

(29:32):
well they're playing CMU, so it's an intra Michigan game.
I've got Michigan wins that one Handley I'm saying forty
five ten Michigan beats the Chippewas.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
So apparently, John Palmer ROSSI got a lot of hate mail. No,
that's you picked against your home state longer well with
the Mitten.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
Now you're right. But here's the You know, I don't
I don't watch a ton of football, as we've covered
on the show quite often, I do not actually watch
that much. But I did hear reports that the Bears
couldn't quite close it out against the Vikings. I believe
that's correct.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Yeah, that happened, Okay.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
Correct there so that in that sense, I just I
think that the Lions are going to find a way
to win. The good teams are just they always say.
I was always told as a kid, good teams improved
the most between week one and week two. My teams
never did. It was worn very good. But I think
the Lions are better. So I've got I've got the
Lions improving and the Lions winning by eight Detroit twenty one,

(30:37):
Chicago thirteen.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
The former high school quarterback with a perfect record is
senior year.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
Baby and nine. So great at losing, Yeah, but.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
It was great you tanked and wind up getting arch manning.
So you guys were fine.

Speaker 4 (30:53):
That's right, that's right, so precisely. Oh my goodness. Well
we'll see as long as as long as I get
the Pope Leo interview before archies uncles, I want to
be totally happy. That's what it's all about.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
He's on Twitter at John Morosi. Check him out MLB Network.
John Paul is always buddy. Appreciate it, man, We'll talk
to you next week.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Love the conversation, guys, thanks for everything. Really appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Say buddy, I have a good call.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
You know, it's not that big a deal. I don't
watch a lot of football. It's okay. Sometimes you can't
do any worse of people that watch a lot of football.
All right, out that way, that's how it goes. Throw
some darts, yeah, Tim. How to find out what's trending
in the wide world of sports from special delivery Steve
de Seger. He's got the latest on what's going on
in Los Angeles and everywhere else but Philadelphia, where there

(31:40):
was no game tonight. You know what do you have?

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Dotcher, sir?

Speaker 4 (31:42):
Leading?

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Red Sox are leading? Philadelphia was winning. You were talking
about the Oklahoma football game last weekend. The college football
TV ratings came out for last Saturday in total viewership.
The number two game last weekend was Old Miss Kentucky
almost five million viewers. Michigan Oklahoma at nine point seven
million viewers last Saturday night. To Major League Baseball, it

(32:06):
is a Red Sox lead of five to nothing at
the A's in the top of the sixth in the
major league debut a pitcher Connelly Early. He has eleven
strikeouts in five scoreless innings and he's only throwing tonight
because the scheduled starting pitcher, Dustin May goes on the
injured list. He and his ra of about five this
season his old team, the Dodgers, are leading five to

(32:27):
one against Colorado in the bottom of the six emitt
shean on the mound six innings, six strikeouts. You mentioned
earlier in the show. This is the anniversary of Sandy
Kofax's perfect game at Dodger Stadium on the same mound. Tonight,
she and for La had a perfect game through five
and then allowed three singles in a run in the
sixth inning. The Dodgers, right now first in the NL West,

(32:48):
one game over the Padres. San Diego, has tied two
to two in the top of the eighth against the
Cincinnati Reds. Also in progress, a Mariners lead at home
five to three over the Saint Louis Cardinals bottom of
the seventh, and the Giants lead five to three against
Arizona in the top of the seventh. Toronto came back
for a ten inning win against Houston four to three,

(33:09):
with two runs in the bottom of the ninth and
one in the tenth. Detroit beat up the Yankees in
New York twelve to two. Although Aaron Judge hit his
forty fourth home run wins for Texas and the Cubs.
Cleveland won its fifth in a row at Philadelphia. Kyle
Schwarber with his fiftieth homer of the year. Phills nine
to three over the Mets. The Phillies first in the
NL East nine games over the Mets and the standings now.

(33:30):
US men's soccer defeated Japan two nothing in an exhibition
in Columbus, Ohio. Among the five WNBA games New York
was a home winner against Washington seventy five sixty six.
The Mystics have lost ten in a row. The Chicago
Bulls re signed guard Josh Giddy to a four year
deal worth one hundred million dollars. The Green Bay Packers
gave wide receiver Christian Watson a one year extension. He's

(33:53):
recovering from a torn ACL. The Steelers signed safety Jabrill
Peppers ex of New England to Sean Elliott is out
with an m CL strain. Atlanta signed kicker John Parker
Romo to the practice squad. The league will not suspend
Eagles defensive tackled Jalen Carter further for spitting last week,
having already missed the opener, he forfeits one game check,
the NFL counts being thrown out before playing as a

(34:16):
one game suspension. And the San Francisco forty nine ers
with a couple of big items today. First, they do
place tight end George Kittle on injurre preserve with the
bad hamstring, so he'll miss at least four games. San
Francisco Wave kicker Jake Moody and signed kicker Eddie Pinero.
Moody was drafted in the third round a couple of
years ago. We mentioned earlier in the show nflgms don't

(34:39):
draft a kicker, you can always find one later. In fact,
Associated Press looked it up. In the last ten NFL drafts,
ten kickers have been taken in the top one seventy
five selections. One out of the ten made it past
the opener of year three with the team that drafted him.
The other nine they could even make seventy seven percent
of their field goals for that team before they were

(35:01):
cut back to you.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Thank you, Steve Hey. You gonna promise me next hour
to do the story about the Colorado change of quarterback
because because just okay, do the story. This is around
We need you to do.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
A third stringer that came in and they're giving him
the game and.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
They need you to do that story next hour. Okay,
all right, very good, Thank you very much, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Man, you can rip the knob off.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
So we told you last week, how is spitgate gonna end?

Speaker 2 (36:18):
Right?

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Jalen Carter the Eagles opening night spits at Dak Prescott,
ejected from the game before he even plays a snap.
We see later on video the Dak spit at him first,
didn't spin on him, but spit at him. We don't
know where the spit landed.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
But if you started yelling like you were Chris Parnell
on Anchorman, Run Run.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Come on you. Uh So, what did we say last week?
This is how it's gonna go because of the Dak
video that Dak clearly instigated this situation. The NFL is
gonna say, all right, because they want to show you
they're serious about spitting. Right, you spin at Dak. They
kicked him out of the game, right, just got ejected.

(37:00):
How is it going to end? It was gonna end
with the NFL saying, all right, if there was no
instigation by Dak Prescott, he probably would have gotten another game, man,
But sure likely because of that, what do we say
was gonna happen? And the NFL is gonna say he
was suspended for this game, the entirety of Game one,

(37:20):
and he's gonna be able to play in game two.
The fact that the Eagles won. Yes, not the greatest
thing in the world to have him suspended. He's one
of the top five defensive tackles in the game. But
they won the game. They'll be okay, pay the fine
everything else, but he's gonna be able to play in
game two. And that's exactly what came out today. The
NFL said, because he was ejected before he played a snap,

(37:42):
we count that as the game, and so he's able
to play Week two. So he's able to play on Sunday. Now,
would it have been the same I'll tell you this much.
Would it have been the same decision if Dak Prescott
there was no video of Dak Prescott spitting at it.
There was no hey, you know, Dak instigated this. I
think the answer is going to be different. In the
NFL would say you can't do it because they really

(38:03):
want to get away from spinning, and I hate It's
disgusting for me to talk about again. I'm glad we're
done with it after tonight. Please, nobody's spinning anybody yet.
I just have one of those things where I get
hives when I think it's just so disgusting, and the
NFL wants to put this to a stop. They don't
want this to happen. Right There are many things that
the NFL has want to happen, but this is something
that they're really bullish on right now. We want to

(38:26):
stop spinning. So if there was no Dak I got
a sneaking suspicion, the NFL would have said, yeah, you
got thrown out of that game. You're getting a game suspension.
That would have happened absolutely, But Dak did it, and
it would look really bad if you still suspended him
for two games. And Dak got no suspension. So this
was something that satisfied all This is one of those

(38:47):
legal situations where all parties walked away satisfied.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
Well, you split the baby. Uh, look, you already got
the full game. That's always subject to interpretation because you
didn't have the kickoff. But since he didn't actually play,
snap get out of jail free card in terms of
calling it a full game suspension to your point, fifty
seven thousand dollars. Fine. We'd heard all off season that

(39:11):
the point of emphasis as the officials made their trips
around and all their meetings was on sportsman like conduct
time and again. So we'll see as the season goes on,
hopefully no more spitting about how each of those francases
gets adjudicated. Will be interesting to watch in terms of
disciplinary action, whether you get ejections right, because going back

(39:32):
to the Friday game, you could argue, based on the
way the rule is written, that tarts should have been
thrown out right, because there's nothing that says but in
the rule that it's got to be a closed fist. Yeah,
and Andy Reid very upset there right that it didn't happen,
and then he ends up making two at least two
huge plays that helped decide that game. Sure, but all

(39:52):
of that to say, right, going to the rest of
the season, it'll be curious. I don't think you'll have
another spinner for fifty seven grand and a game not
going to be a second spinner. We're not gonna no, no.
You do have a lot of fans throwing other things
on the fields left and right, because we had at
least two instances in the the NFL this weekend of buildos.

(40:12):
But all of that to say, the spinning, I think
the Jalen Carter got enough attention that folks will be
smarter about it.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
Well, especially it's the first game on on a Wednesday
and on a Thursday night. Everybody is watching. You see
it happen before the first play, he gets tossed. It's
different than if that again that had happened at one
fifteen on a Sunday afternoon. Whoa Jalen Carter got ejected.
He spit it in. It's one of just many stories

(40:42):
it gets lost. This was something everybody saw. It was
the story coming off the game, out of the game
the next day. So yeah, I think the NFL is
hoping that this puts an end to the spinning.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Yeah, it was just an odd weekend, right, the odds
start to the game, you lose the fullback for the year.
Then you have the spitting incident. Friday, we get the
tart right cross up to the head and neck of
Dravis Kelce just say if you're worthy gets taken out
by Travis Kelce. Allay, you want to talk about starting
the season with a.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Bang bang across by tart cross by tartdu Alright, it
is catchy. I'll tell you what. It's pretty good. Catch
you going and animate that that is that is catching.
I'll tell you that is catchy. Uh So, now it's
over and now we can move on. And the biggest
controversy from week one has been put to bad. Like
I said, we're ahead of the curve. We told you
this is how it was going to end, and this

(41:33):
is how it ended. Just wait, they waited a few days.
Let's get past the pageant tree of week one. Okay, Now,
now we'll make this decision and now we're done.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Now you look like a dupe, dope. You miss a
game and you get fined fifty seven thousand dollars. That's
that's a trifecta. You don't want Yeah, no, no, I
just take care of it and fifty cent. But everybody's happy, now,
see everybody's happy. Roger Goodell, Yo.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
Coming up next, we have a story that I'm pretty
sure everybody's gonna be happy about again. It's next right here,
