(00:50):
is Week two of Hard Knocks is in the books.
The Jets look awesome. They had a guy there, doctor Oz,
who was doing all mind's a crazy mentalist.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Wait, doctor Oz, did you tell him about gut health?
I thought that some kind of supplements to uh work
you through.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Gut Doctors say avoid this vegetable at all costs, and
you click like, I thought, what am I eating? What
am I not eating right, then you click to like
a thousand things and you go, Okay, I don't need
to do that.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Nobody got in any trouble for all the shilling in
false science being perpetrated there or from phil.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I think I think, I think people do get in trouble.
I just think it's something that you know, kind of
goes past.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Take pack those money.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Sure, uh, but look it's another week, and it's a
big week for the Jets. And look, you've heard a
lot of Aaron Rodgers, who is the front and center
star of Hard Knocks, right, this is this is obviously
what the Jets have done when they agreed to do
Hard Knocks, or when they were made to do it
by the Jets. Look, we're gonna give you a lot
of Aaron Rodgers. We told you this, and congratulations to

(01:54):
everybody who is now running with the Hey, Aaron Rodgers
really caught. He really wants to push himself and push
his brand. Yes, we told you this months ago. We
told you as soon as they announced the Jets are
hard Knocks. Of course Aaron Rodgers and Rogers is going
to be the star because he chose New York for
the brand. He chose the Jets because they were the
team that had the quarterback opening. If the Giants had

(02:15):
the quarterback opening, he would have gone there. But he
chose New York for the brand, and he is going
to make sure that he gets every ounce of it
as he launches the next part of his career. He's
gonna be seen as being affable, being fun because after
he plays football in a few years, he's gonna want
to do TV, he's gonna want to buy things, He's
gonna want to do the next level of his career.

(02:36):
So yeah, he's choosing the Jets because of their brand, right,
and it's working out so well for him. Now here's
where this conversation takes a little bit of a turn. Right.
You have Hard Knocks, which has been a big success
so far by anybody's stretch of the imagination. Right, you
have Aaron Rodgers on TV and it's been great so far.
Not so great for Quarterback on Netflix, which got a

(02:58):
ton of attention. Everybody's watching that first season that follows
Patrick Mahomes and Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota all through
the twenty twenty two season. Don't punch me, dude, Don't
punch me. Don't don't punch me, dude. That's all I
keep thinking my head. Don't punch me, dude, don't punch me.
Why is quarterback finding it so difficult to find people

(03:21):
and find quarterbacks to follow? When you see hard knocks
here and Aaron Rodgers is going, hey, he embraced it.
Why can't we get more people to embrace it? Why
would other guys should do it? Look at Mahomes said yes.
Why is everybody saying no? It seems like every quarterback
in the NFL is asked that question over the course
of the preseason, and then they go, oh, yeah, they
asked me. I said no, Daniel Jones, Josh Allen, Oh,

(03:43):
they asked me. I said no. Oh they asked me.
I said no. They asked me no. I said no.
I didn't want to do it. I didn't want to
do it. And Peyton Manning's upset, right, What did he say?
The one word I don't want to hear is distraction. Distracted. Meanwhile,
Peyton Manning would never have done.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
That when he was zero chance in hell.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
It's easy for me to say because I know exactly
why quarterback can't find quarterbacks. It's it's it's easy. Ask
yourself this, what is the win for a quarterback who
says yes to this? What's the win? Right? Hard knocks.
You have to do it right, you have to do it,
and it's coming it's coming out great because Aaron Rodgers

(04:20):
wants it. He wants this opening, he wants this visibility. Right,
That's why I understand why it's working out great for everybody.
Aaron Rodgers wants it because he wants to either change
the perception that he has or continue to get keep
his name. And we're not talking about any other NFL
player like we talk about Aaron Rodgers, right, that's what

(04:43):
he wanted. Tell me another quarterback who after watching the
Netflix series is gonna say I want to sign up
for it? Right, It's it's a no win situation. Mahomes
did it probably because he was bored. Yeah, sure, out
of cry of won a super Bowl. What do I care?
You know, all you're gonna see is what it's like
to be a big I'm super duperstar and you get
stuff like don't punch me too, don't punch But that's it.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
If he's weird, if he's like any of that stuff, right,
that don't punch Me's the stuff with Crosby. A lot
of little interactions like that. You just say, all right,
he's a winner, so the he's a bit of odd
and you shrug and you move on.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
It doesn't look like the guy's legacy. Nothing can hurt.
So that's okay. So he does this one. Now the
other two guys, All right, Kirk Cousins. It's been really
interesting to see Kirk Cousins. But how does Kirk Cousins
come off? Does he come off a little weird and
a little odd and things come off a little awkward
with how he handles being quarterback? Yeah, you know, it's

(05:41):
not just about stuff. Oh I got a hidden room
in my house that has all my football stuff in it.
It's a hidden room under the stairs, like where Harry potters.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
So you know that's a good move. Though there's a
lot of value in what's in that room, so I mean,
you gotta keep it hidden.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
But overall, you know, hey, I want you to see
who I am. Okay, Yeah, little weird, little awkward. I
don't think it does wonders for him as being a leader,
being a quarterback. And Marcus Mariota, what do we see, hey,
all we're seeing is why he shouldn't have been a
number one quarterback from the Falcons right away. We watched
his whole season go the way it did wind up,
leaving the team crazy stuff happening. There was no win

(06:17):
there for Mariota. There was no there's no win for
Kirk Cousins. There's some kind of win for Mahomes because
it doesn't matter because his legacy is bulletproof and you
have Rogers doing hard knocks. Who wants to have that
out there? Any other quarterback that wants to increase their
brand can do it in a less risky way. Then

(06:37):
you're gonna follow me and put all my good and
bad moments on television because make nomos that you people say,
evil media, evil media. I go just stop with this.
But you know, hey, you do something bad or something
that's making it on television. Right, So there's less risky
ways for quarterbacks who want to get their brand out
there to be able to do it. Then say hey,
I'm gonna give you the rights to put whatever you

(06:58):
want to on quarterback on Now, when you think about
it that way, you understand why people are saying, no,
what's Josh Allen's win? I mean's you're gonna get another
Wegman's endorsement if he goes on if he goes on
television and does it. What's the win for Daniel Jones?
All Right, the spotlight is on it and he fails, boy,
spectacularly failed. What's the win? I don't get the win

(07:18):
for a lot of quarterbacks. If you're trying to establish yourself,
you can wind up really hurting yourself because, hey, we
get to see that you're not ready for the moment.
If you're somebody trying to win a championship and you can't,
there's too many bad things that can happen. There's not
enough good And when when you don't have control over
what's going out there, and you get that, hey, I
have pr people working for me, I have agents working

(07:42):
for me. I got a lot of people that are
helping out getting my name out there, getting me commercials,
getting me interviews that I want to have, or you know,
making sure my charity is getting taken care of, and
I'm doing things in the community. There's much less risky
ways to do it. So I completely get why the
quarterbacks are saying no, because I don't don't see the
win for the vast majority of them.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Yeah, I mean with Kirk Cousins, we already knew he
was a bit quirky. We'll always have you like that.
That'll live on forever. And look, we know his history,
we know his family history. You got people delving into
that a little bit more as you get into his
upbringing and how you know he is and how he acts,
and so he was more relatable. I think folks just

(08:25):
like the button down, put on the glasses and hang
out and family man whatever there. I mean, there's some
good to be done for him. So I think net
Kirk Cousins wins, Marcus Mariota, we know how the season ended,
so you already knew, all right, at some point this
is turning. And so you watch that start to spiral

(08:46):
a bit for most of the quarterbacks as you say,
you got you gotta find the win. Right. Whenever we
go through and we're picking out stories and things we
want to discuss and entertain and inform you about here
on the show, a lot of it comes back to
the what's the win in doing a story? Some of
them it's just all right, it should be left for

(09:06):
a news update or a passing comment, just to acknowledge
something is transpired and then you move forward. In this case,
for a lot of these quarterbacks that are trying to
form their identity, it's not confined to training camp, right,
this is a full year with you and your family
and your other family. May you think Aaron Rodgers are

(09:28):
doing this if it's in the vein of quarterback, Hey,
we're gonna need you at least one appearance by members
of your family. You think that's going over. Well, no,
no it's not. We're gonna have Hey, you know what, Aaron,
we invited all of your extended family to come to
camp and it's gonna be a family reunion before we
get into the preseason opener. Is that a family?

Speaker 1 (09:48):
What did you say family?

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Did you say family?

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Now you can't that's a trigger word right then, can't
bring that up.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
But you see what I mean. It's it's in terms
of hard knocks. It is a four to five week
period where you've go on to camp, and yes, you
get little feel good stories and Aaron Rodgers the great tourist.
We had Sauce Gardner in episode one going and graduating,
so you get some of that, but pretty quickly it's
all just about the work that's being put in, the

(10:16):
meetings and everything going through, getting timing down, the communication
between players and coaches, a couple of colorful back and forth,
you know, in terms of these joint practices and the
preseason games or whatever. The Quarterback Show is just so
far reaching, plenty of times to catch you in a
bad moment and you don't have the editorial control because
you're not with the team, is not doing this right.

(10:39):
It's not a battle to where it's like, all right,
I get artistic, I get final edit right, Like I'm
a director with some clout No no, no, no, no, you
can't go and screw up my movie. I get to
put out what I want. No, these quarterbacks are at
the wins, So if they have a bad moment, even
if it's out at a family outing, you know, all
those things Mahme was doing. Hey, he's he's getting shown

(11:02):
up by his wife, throwing knocking down bottles at the
fair and all that stuff. Like what if he just
started cursing and losing his mind instead of laughing about it.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
I mean that could go really.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Sideways for someone that's not Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, It's like
there's so many of those moments that could potentially sabotage,
and certainly as the season goes on, what are they
gonna do. They're gonna go for the most salacious little
reactions and eyebrow raises and side eye that you can
possibly find.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah, so the only way to do it is one
of two things, right, because it's a good show. I,
like I said, I'm stunned the people decided to do
it right. Maybe because hey, Peyton Manning's in charge of it.
I feel like I trust Peyton Manning. And it's not
like these guys are coming out of it looking terrible,
you know. Kirk, like I said, Kirk Cousins looks weird,
and Marcus Murray looks like, yeah, I know why I
wasn't a starter. Right, it's all these things. There's two

(11:52):
ways to do it. There's you have to find the
guy that is okay, that says, hey, I'm not being able,
I can't increase my brand anymore and I need this show.
And there's not a lot of guys that fall into
that category. If the Jets weren't on Hard Knocks, Aaron
Rodgers Rogers would be the guy to do that too.
He'd be he'd be the guy, because he would want that.
He would say, yes, I'll do it. But he's on

(12:13):
hard knocks right now, and it's it's it's it's free
for him, and it's free for the jets. The only
other way to do it. Netflix has a lot of money.
I know that streaming right now is a thing, and
we're wondering how many streaming sites are gonna still be
around in the next couple of years, because I'm sure
with all the nine or ten streaming sites now, some
are gonna go away, some are gonna merge, and and

(12:33):
you're gonna wind up seeing a big change over the
course of the next few years. But Netflix ain't going anywhere.
They got a lot of cash. Money is what talks.
Oh well, you're paying pay me five million dollars to
do that, you know, then then I'll do it. Yeah.
Then you'll get a lot of people. Oh wait, we
have five million dollars. Yeah, sure, then I'll do it.
You gotta cut a check. You cut a check, and
then you're gonna get Because money always talks, right, and

(12:53):
and it's not always It might be a guy, Oh
this guy, this guy's got a three hundred million dollar contract.
Doesn't matter. Five hundred five more free million dollars. He's
gonna do it. You will get people that way. That's
the only way to do it. You find people who
needed to increase. There's not a lot of those. And
then you got to say, Okay, here's money for you
guys to do it this year. And I don't know
what people getting paid for this one. I have no idea,

(13:13):
but you gotta really amp it up if you want
to keep people.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
No incentivize people. It's the old story of life. It
goes back to what we were talking about an hour
ago with the Tuoy family and Michael Or and everything else.
Altruism is uh, you know, a dirty word. Everybody's got
their motivations. Hey, this can make you really a good
and build your brand. By the way, I'm gonna get
a bunch of money if we get some ratings and

(13:37):
we get you on Marr, it's gonna make me look good.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Dude, Twitter it out about a fresco. Mike gets swollen
to say, you go, why are people saying no to quarterback? There?
It is, it's right there.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
No, everybody, take five seconds. Think back to your senior prom.
How great it was, how awful it was? Who threw up?
Who threw up twice? Who broke up right after the prom,
who broke up during the prom? Who fell in love
after the prom?

Speaker 3 (14:13):
How many hats you gave out? That's true?

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Stack him up, baby, Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. This hour of
the show brought to by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling
easy and affordable to get a multi policy discount by
combining your motorcycle, RV, boat, ATV and more all your
protection of one plays Bundle and save at Progressive dot Com.

(14:40):
All right, we have more NFL on the way, but
a double barrel of NBA stories coming your way right now. First,
this is why it's hard to trust this team as
a big time contender to win the NBA Championship, because
today is everything look and I don't and I'm not second.

(15:00):
Because the Celtics had to make moves in the off season.
They were close to being a titled contending team, but
it wasn't working, so you had to make some changes.
He made some trades. You moved Marcus Smart, you brought
some guys in. You brought in Christaps Porzingis, which was
the big addition, the biggest edition that you had this offseason.

(15:23):
He Porzingis has kind of rejump started his career again.
Things are awesome, right, He had those couple of years
of exile in Washington and now suddenly a Porzingis is
pretty good. It was announced today he is going to
miss the upcoming FEEBA World Basketball Championships because of a
lingering planter fescitis issue he continues to deal with in

(15:46):
his foot. He put a post on social media today
saying that a recent MRI result led to the decision
not to play, a joint decision made with the Latvian
medical and coaching staffs along with the Celtics. So look,
this is welcome to the ride, right, Welcome to the
ride that is Kris tops Porzingis. As talented as he is,

(16:07):
he can't stay in the lineup and it's been a
difficult thing his entire career. Nicks, Mavericks, Wizards. He'll put
a great three weeks together and you think, wow, this
is awesome, and then he's out for three weeks and
while the Celtics had to make a move, and boy,
it's a big gamble. We talked about it when it happened.
It's gutsy, it's a gamble. I liked that they tried

(16:27):
to make their team better and went on say this
is not working here. We lost to the Heat in seven.
Let's go. Maybe Porzingis is a guy because of the
unique skill set that he has. But this is the
flip side of it. This is the flip side of
oh yeah, now the Celtics are understanding, Oh, this is
why he's been on three different teams now, because the
guy can't stay on the floor. And this is why

(16:49):
as much as the Celtics had to do what they did,
I'm not saying they didn't. They had to change things
up because what they had wasn't good enough. This is
why it's hard for me to say, yes, Celtics, who
win the title. I look, I would pick three teams,
including the Knicks, over the Celtic mind title, especially stop
hard and Stop. If Harton shows up for the Celtics,

(17:10):
uh no, because I can't. I can't trust that when
the Celtics need, he's gonna be on the floor. There's
too many teams now where you have to hold your breath,
and contenders are no longer just contenders. There are contenders
if right, the Lakers are title contenders if Lebron and
ad are healthy. And and while you can say, well,

(17:30):
of course, health is a big thing now when guys
are in and out of the lineup and they prove
that health is a difficult thing for them to maintain, No,
that's an absolute issue. You can say it's hard. It's
hard to bank on a team being a title contender
when you don't know if someone's going to be healthy
or not. And there's title contenders because hey, this team
is great, and then there's title contenders if they're big

(17:52):
guys are healthy, which a lot of times you don't know.
And that's why it's hard to believe in the Celtics
because you don't know if Porzingis is going to be healthy.
You you broke up your team. He's the guy you
wanted to bring in. All of this is true, and
now here's someone. Oh, we're not even into the season already,
the guy's skipping because of an injury. We're still in
the middle of the summer, and this is what's going on.

(18:13):
Oh my good. This is what's happening. Yeah, the Celtics
are realizing there's a flip side to it. It's why
it's hard to believe in them as leaders in the
Eastern Conference. They are now one of the other very
good teams in the East that needs a lot to
go right for them to move on and get better
and achieve more than they did last year.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Well, on the is the promo always says from me.
On the positive side, Porzingez recognizes, whereas bread is buttered
playing in the FOBA Tournament, what's that doing for him? Right?
At this point, his career is defined by what he's
going to be able to do and help the Celtics

(18:54):
and whether he gets to a title. Right, we just
celebrated and coronated Dirk Noovinsky going into the Naysmith Memorial
Hall of Fame, and we talk about international players, we
talk about the impact there and Porzingis we even had
the song right is in the Latvian Dirk still trying to.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
Live up to that. We've been playing that song for
like nine years.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Then no, that's it. So they moved a couple of
big glue guys. Right, whatever you think of Marcus smart Off,
to Memphis, and then you have the Grant Williams going
to Dallas, kind of an unsung role player there, and
then they weren't able to trust that Robert Williams was
going to get on the court. So you needed to
go find some size. You needed to lean into what

(19:35):
Porzingis could be at his best two years, sixty million dollars,
and I think doing the operation shut down now of
just being judicious with it all. And we know for
those in terms of our medical dictionaries, plant faciatis implemmation
of a thick band of tissue that connects the heel
bone to the toes and flame tissue runs across the

(19:57):
bottom of the foot. Perhaps as Weekend Warriors.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
You just gave me a heal bone connected to the towbone.
You I did, absolutely did that. You did bone connected
to the toe.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
I did so, but I did it with authority and
not in rhythm or timing of a song.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Okay, all right, so Victor eating done that way?

Speaker 3 (20:15):
No, that's it. I figured I'd let you make that
connection and start to laugh, all right, So yeah, that's
what we are. But for poor Zingis, like the career
is not defined by FEBA so trying to gut through
it here and potentially costing yourself a month or more
once the regular season begins. No, no, no, they just paid,
you know, paid in full on to Brown and and

(20:38):
Tatum is there. So like you've got your your two
guys that are making what five hundred and fifty million
dollars or whatever it is between them. Porzingis is the
guy that's supposed to help push this over the top,
So damn it. Sit down and rest ice up, Go
watch suits like everybody else, and get ready for the
NBA season.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Get ready to go watch suits.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Be sure to catch live edition of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
For one Dodgers guy, I was going.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
To keyke Hernandez with a single through a drawn in
in field has driven in two runs. The Dodgers lead
the Brewers now four to one. Bottom of the sixth Frozburg.
I had taken easy man. Not my first day. We
got America's at Mike harmon Is is America's ass, and
we're talking about it took you long enough.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
You're a little slow that time.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Tonight's show brought to it by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes
bundling easy and affordable. Get a multi policy discount by
combining your motorcycle, RV, boat, ATV and more all your
protection in one plays Bundle and save at Progressive dot Com.
Now I hate to say I told you so, and
I can't really say it because it hasn't happened yet.
But remember a couple of months ago when we talked

(21:53):
about what's going on in the NBA off season, and
the dust kind of settled, and okay that we saw
the move as we saw the signings, not a lot
of big names changing places. We still have the trade
season that is still gonna come towards the end of
the summer. We're looking at Damian Lillard getting delt And
I told you watch Joel Mbid because if things don't

(22:16):
happen how he wants them to happen, he's going to
force a trade and he's gonna say I can't. It's
his untenable here. Now I've tried. He's stayed through a
couple of coaches. Now a new coach, Philadelphia has not
gotten better. I said, just watch as the summer goes on,
you're gonna see if he's unhappy. Exactly as he's unhappy,

(22:38):
You're going to see him start making it well known. Well,
what happened over the weekend, James Harden was told well,
was told through the media by Darryl Morey that he
was coming to training camp with the Sixers because they
couldn't make a trade. They look forward to having James
Harden back. James Harden, who was in China doing a
personal appearance at a press conference yesterday, said I will

(22:59):
never play an organization that Daryl Morey is a part of.
And then he said, let me repeat that, I will
never play for an organization that Maury is a part of.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
Right, So now the Sixers have become a blank show.
And what happened in the time between last night and today.
Joel Embiid, who loves to do look athletes love doing
subtle things on social media that turn into big things.
Right for all the social media I feel like I
got a pretty good grasp on what players treat social

(23:30):
media like it's the most important thing. They treat it
like it's their own personal reporter. I can call you
and I can leak a story to the press. I
don't need to I can do it through social media.
Sometimes it's putting out a cryptic tweet. Sometimes it's responding
to a tweet. Sometimes it's liking a tweet. Sometimes it's
removing Philadelphia from your location in your bio because that's

(23:54):
something that people were gonna find out. And that's what
Joel Embiid did, removed Philadelphia from Twitter bio. He is
telling the seventy six ers, hey, you got a little
bit of time left to get something done. If not,
I'm gonna tell you that I want out and I'm
not gonna mess around and go behind closed doors. I

(24:14):
will be the guy to step up and say I'm
the MVP, this is not working and I want out.
And then it's gonna be a frenzy to trade for
Joel Embiid for the Sixers, at least they'll get somebody
for him, unlike James Harden who's done and no one
trade him anything, which is why he's still a Sixer.
Joel Embiid, the Knicks are the favorites to get him
right now. You look at where the odds are in Vegas.

(24:36):
But that's what Joel Embiid is doing. He is giving
them one final warning, saying, okay, you saw what's going on.
I saw what happened with James Harden here. This is
not cool, not cool man. All right, here's your last
chance because we're getting into the end of August before
the FOBA Championships happen, and then we go away for
a month or so and then we get back ready
to come back. But I'm gonna put that pressure on you.

(24:56):
You make this team better and you give me a
chance to win because he has hit the part of
his career where he understands, like Shaquille O'Neil did, Hey,
I've had a great first half, but I'm gonna be
judged by championships and I don't want to be the
big man that doesn't have one. So I know the
last half has to be more team oriented, has to
be more team goal oriented. So and I'm not gonna

(25:18):
waste another second in Philadelphia if we're not gonna win here.
So this is him giving Philadelphia that last morning, saying,
you spend the next few weeks getting stuff done and
making it better or guess what I'm gonna tell you.
I want out and I'm not gonna play for you again.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
Please just get rid of James Harden. He really failed
in those playoff moments. Put it all on him. That way,
you don't have to take any of it. Joel Embiid,
you're the MVP, and you shrunk down like you were,
know Muggsy Bogues running around with your output in that game,
i e. You're not taking over anything. He might win

(25:51):
a dunk contest, but you're not taking over. We look
at Embiid's next odds, seventy six ers implied odds that
he stays there, buff of Bookies dot Com just twenty percent.
Then your Nicks, then the Oklahoma City Thunder tied with
the Brooklyn Nets. Next up on that list the Miami Heat.
So all sorts of chaos potential to flow out of this.

(26:15):
Maybe he goes to China and he follows the James
Harden path because he's got a captive audience that hates
Darryl Mory and he can carry some favor by going
and making a speech there like hardened It. Look, we've
talked about it, right, You've got to go a bit
of scorched earth. You've got to make what you want known.
Maybe if it's subtle, something of changing your location. In

(26:36):
this case, he might have just wanted to go anonymous
for a bit. Maybe he's traveling. Maybe it's designed to
where it picks up his location, and in this case,
he turned that off, you know, to find my phone
feature and all that stuff. Yeah, maybe he doesn't want
to be found.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
I forgot my password. I can't I can't find my iPhone.
I forgot to know my pass when. IM sorry, I
gotta get a new phone. But it's just.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Kind of funny to me. And we all look to
turn blame, whether it's our work situations, relationships at any
level with people that we associate with, friends, family, significant others.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Whatever.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
You know, you're always looking to cast your aspersions and
find some blame. For the Sixers is kind of funny.
Let's put it all on Darryl Mory. Never mind the
fact that those guys both did disappearing acts in that
playoffs series, right, I mean, that can't be underscored and
understated enough. And I get it. Power with the players,

(27:34):
go and have your say, go force yourself out to
another situation. However, however, that you've got to be realistic
as well, that you were the MVP and then suddenly
you melted down and couldn't perform in the playoffs, James
Harden gave you a couple of forty point performances. Great,

(27:55):
what was he in every other game? He was awful
and he disappeared. And sometimes you need to look in
the mirror and recognize your part in things. I know
that's hard. I know that's not human nature. It's very
easy to just say, you know what, it was all
your fault. But for Joel Embiid, Yeah, Willie forced his
way out, he ends up a Nick. I quit.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
Just wait, just wait, then it'd be the Jason Smith
Show with my former best friend. Oh insert insert TBA.
Mike Harmon's decided to walk. He's gonna walk the earth.
He's done.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Easy, Yeah, I think, well, yeah, I mean, I'm not
gonna quit the show, but I mean I'll just sit
here and mute. Just watch during any Knicks publications.

Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best Friend
Mike Harmon, Love Jay.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
He threw the ball so far I had to ran
as I ran.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Live from the tirag dot com studios. That was kind
of like your your your Berman mixed with your John
Wick ty shirt. That was kind of a mix of
both of them. That's pretty good, I was. I'd like
to see that though, Berman as a stone cold killer
like Berman just killing people like John Wick did, like
I'd like to I'd like to see that in the movie.

(29:41):
I think i'd like to see that, Like would he
use the microphone to do it? Or what do you what?
You would he would he keep hitting people saying you're
going back back, back, back, back back, and then they
would fall off a cliff Like is that how he
would do it? Like? I want to see that.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
I'm in what's right, especially with Ai.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
We could make it a younger Berman and it would
be hang on, I gotta right now. No, yeah, call
Warner Brothers.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
Become expert AI guy. Fine photo slash video of Young Berman. Okay,
Jason just set up the person that did Princess Leah
and Star Wars.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Oh, ouch man, listen. The technology was almost there for
a Rogue one.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
It was almost there about let's do Tarkin.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Yeah, it's the only thing that that was the only
bad part of that movie was was that ridiculous lizard
like what they did with both of those guys.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
I mean, look, it just told us that Star Wars
is somewhere in the v universe.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
Yeah. No, that's true. No, that's true. That's true. That's true.
Uh So, look, coming off a week one of the NFL,
going into week two, we've heard a lot the last
couple of days about a couple of quarterbacks. Are they ready?
Are they not ready? As they ascend to new starting gigs. Right,
we saw Anthony Richardson get annointed the Colt's number one
quarterback today. We'll have more on him coming up next hour.

(30:58):
But a couple of guys I don't know, I don't know.
I'll tell you both players, they're gonna be fine and
The first guy is Bryce Young. After that first game
against the Jets, I can see where you would go, Wow,
that was not good at all. I mean, you had
a Jets second string defensive line just absolutely manhandle the

(31:20):
Panthers offensive line. They couldn't do anything. They couldn't score
at all. They get shut out in the game. I'm fine.
Bryce Young is going to be fine. It was his
first game, it was the Jets second game, and the
Jets defense is gonna be a monster. They're gonna wind
up having the best defensive line in the NFL because
you know Robert Sala wants to dress fifteen different defensive lineman.

(31:41):
He's finally got the Jets to where he had the
forty nine ers, where I have the defense I want
because I have the rotating defensive lineman where I can
keep them fresh. They play sixty percent of the plays
and they're wrecking havoc the entire time. It's what got
him the gig with the Jets in the first place.
He has finally figured that out. You're talking about a
debut against a top three defense, even though they're playing

(32:03):
some of their backups. Bryce Young is gonna be okay.
He's got enough weapons. You have to give him a
little bit of time and the Panthers will be fine.
They're still gonna win that division because the division is terrible.
And Bryce Young, give me, this is just the first
quarter of the first game. And it's not like he
was zero for seven with two picks. He was three
for five. He got sacked a couple of times. Everything

(32:24):
with Bryce Young is still just fine.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
I just find it laughable how quickly we are doing
the commedist thumbs up thumbs down on these guys after
a couple of series. Oh no, it's a disaster. This
is never gonna work.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
CJ.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Stroud. I mean he was after the game, he commented,
He's like, well, you know this is this is now
everybody's narrative. This is where they go like, unfortunately, that's the.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Way it works.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
The show, the newspaper, all of that stuff is either
said or printed today. But he's absolutely right. It's like,
it's a couple of series. It's a couple of it's
getting your feet wet, and for Bryce Young, same thing, right,
you went into a circumstance. Look, the Jets are trying
to put on the best show of anybody you want
to want to talk about winning the offseason and then

(33:11):
putting the punctuation mark by really winning the preseason as well.
I mean they put a lot of energy into this,
a lot of thought, a lot of orchestration to try
to show we're the biggest and we're the baddest. Do
I think the Carolina will be contenders in the division?

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (33:28):
Nobody's running away and hiding Saints are interesting once camera
comes back off suspension. They've got Jamal Williams in the interim.
He's a Tyser's favorite player because he does autographs only
if you bring him anime.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
Stuff, which, oh well then yeah that's gonna that's gonna
be a thing. Then yeah, one hundred percent. Yeah, absolutely
Tyser's favorite.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Can we get your autograph? Did you bring me any onime?
Looking for pop figures and trading cards and uh plush toys.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
It's brilliant, I say, Tyson in line like with a
football and a pen, and he goes, hey, can I
get you on my automate podcast? And just you know, here,
I just want you to just write your phone number
on this football because I didn't bring a piece of
paper with me, So write on this football and now
then I'll call I'll get you on my podcast.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
See, Jason, shame on you. You assume I know what
a football looks like.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Oh oh, this is true, This is true. All right?

Speaker 3 (34:15):
You had round ball that messy puts in the back
of it, right.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
No, Tyson, Tyson would write it on his arm. Let
me just write it on my arm, right, so I
don't and then even tattoo it and figure it out.

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Yeah, the Jets don't know how to play.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
That's right. Stuff, dude, Just you just you just you're
grasping at straws. Man. You guys are grasping it straw know.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
He ate a great very uh slowly and deliberately, and
then uttered that line. There was no happy hazard anything
to it.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
All right. So there's Bryce Young, another quarterback that's getting
a lot of hate. It's gonna be just fine for
him as well. Aaron Rodgers, Right, Aaron, Aaron, Well, come on,
Ann Rodgs is gonna win the Super Bowl. Uh, so
we'll have the latest on hard knocks and the other
quarterback getting a lot of heat. He's gonna be just
fine too. That's next here. This is Fox
