Really no, not at all. Come on, but you made
Harmon feel good for a second that maybe he team
had two quarterbacks and maybe things that work out for Jimmy. Right,
all right? What team is Jalen Hurts?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Play for the Eagles? Achris Frostburg just told you? No,
I guess that's the second guess.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
No, if you didn't, just guess the.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Wasn't here, No, he wasn't.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Now he's back well suddenly I wasn't there to now
right there? He wanted to have a nice sip of
his frosty beverage.

We just had the whole open about diet advice and
nobody wants to hear it. That's the whole thing. We
just had the whole open.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Why couldn't you just let ty Shirt slot on the
first answer he gave you. At least he got the NFC.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Right, right should I told him the bears was fine?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
And again, no, man.
Speaker 1 (02:06):

This is that? Whoa, this is I need the Greg
Popovitch twenty second time out.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
After here, I was going to bring you back and
here I was going to bring you the best news
of the day.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
What's the best news of that.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
That's Freddie Freeman Homer again. Well, I don't think he's bad.
And since we last talked about him, two things. All right,
We got an update on Twitter from someone saying this
is the biggest story of.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
The day, and I agree.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Okay, your favorite franchise has two big announcements going on.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Number one, the John Wick franchise, No. Number one. So
now that's Hamburglar. Is that favorite franchise? Oh you mean
food franchise? Oh the Hamburglar is back like the real Hamburger.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Yes, no the wait wait.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait,
we got to deal with this.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, the Hamburglar is coming to bring him back for
a series of ads. Really, the return so awesome. I
want to wear that outfit must be No, come on, man,
it's you know, look, when you're McDonald's, there's only so
much you can do. The food. Hey, we're gonna change
the burgers a little bit, what else were gonna do?
So off Hamburglar?
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, so off ad week. They've already got a couple
of the ads up there. The first one is casing
the joint. The second one is heist. I mean, given
all the stuff in the news, I don't know how
appropriate this is. No, this is like, but we're gonna
we're gonna have a little bit of levity here with
McDonald Hamburglar.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Just think about Heisman where it's gonna be like the
Hamburglar and Grimace and they're gonna talk about needing another guy.
Do you think we didn't.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Go?
Speaker 3 (03:45):
I think we need one more? And then they get
the fry guys in and they're no.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Then Mayor mccheese comes in it that's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Now, now you want to besmirch the name of a
beloved elected official like cheese.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Hey, if you guys not ripped.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
On the headlines, but if.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
You guys are looking for a Christmas present from sorry
holiday holiday, Oh I know it's April. But the the
McDonald's glasses from the seventies and eighties, and I still
have some of the plates if you had no the plate. Now,
the glasses, I mean those real ones that like probably
had real leaden sides.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Okay, yeah, yeah, those are.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
That If you can get me that, that's something I
would want for.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
You know what I'm gonna I'm gonna look as I'm
on the highways and byways of life. I think if
I head out to City of Industry there, tyser, we
could probably make that happen easily enough.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
We'll have a meet up, we'll.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Go and I don't want I don't know. I want.
I don't want like a like a oh hey, look
we redid this for the twenty. No, I want like
the E.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
And that's what I'm telling Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm
telling you.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
I think we can find the antiques to make Oh okay,
all right, might have some scratches and there might be
a random Lando col Region glass mixed in there with
them from nineteen eighty two.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
But yeah, what if that was the heist they were
hoisting the glasses. That's good, they were trying to get them. Okay,
so Amberg was coming back.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
That's part one, Okay, is the announcement made that they're
changing up the buns to make them softer, but also
starting as late so it could happen any day now.
It's going to be across the entire system by early
twenty twenty four. More sauce on the Big Mac.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
See look at Me McDonald's influencer. Did I tell you
or not? More sauce and extra cheese on the Big
Mac that's.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Not giving you any extra cheese extracy.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
No, you don't have to pay for it. Two dollars.
That's whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Do the right thing, jeesus two dollars.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Whoa, Hey, put some extra moozzarel on that bad boy
butter cheesus two dollars.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
But I told you, Matt, listen, extra cheese on the
big Mac. That's it. I just had a big Mac
before the show tonight. It was awesome, and I had
it my way whenever, whenever, because Zoe had a game.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Careful about saying my way. The Burger King j was
gonna come in there and take it out.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
No, today was a day where listen, you want to
know the great day I had today I had. I
had Burger King for lunch and McDonald's for dinner.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Today was a great day. And now we have Homer
Simpson's don't pull that guy.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Today was a day like in the movies where they
show somebody waking up and they just wake up and
they pull the sheets off and they go, today is
gonna be a great day, and they get up out
of bed and the birds are chirping around like McDonald's
for lunch. I'm sorry, Burger King for lunch, McDonald's for dinner.
Oh man, are you kidding? Yeah, but the rest of
my day was very healthy, so it's it's fine. It's
(06:31):
all good.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Dude. You can literally run a marathon.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Congratulations to those that did run the Boston Marathon.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
This monk, I tell you. Oh oh oh and and
and and by the way, oh sorry by waiting to
do this headline, now that you brought it up, and
and and TJ clearly evans you might have thought his
power of winning the Boston Marathon was on the Wayne
Cobeto wins again for the second year in a row.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Wow, you've been waiting to do that, Yes, I have.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
I wanted you to bring up the boss and marathon
so I could give you even though his name is
not really Corbette, but it looks like Corebette without the R.
And that got me excited when I saw the headline today,
Coribette went marathon. Hey, Wayne Crebett won a marathon.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Oh boy, I ever tell you by Wayne Corbett story?
Tell you did I forgot?
Speaker 5 (07:21):
No?
Speaker 1 (07:21):
I have a really good Wayne I'll tell you it is.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Did you follow him? No?
Speaker 1 (07:27):
No, No, it's completely creepy. When I was at NFL
Network and we were doing the beginning the last year
I was there, we did a kickoff uh in New
York City at where was the theater anyway? We we
did a kickoff where we and where we sold tickets
that people come to the theater we were in, and
we did our shows live from a theater. We had
(07:48):
a lot of We had a bunch of guests come in.
We had a bunch of football players come in. I
didn't know who you were back then. I didn't know
I was kind of a big deal if it was, Yeah,
I didn't reckon and I Joe, where's a guy in show?
I heard you wear shorts and jaunty hats. I don't
understand where that is?
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (08:04):
So we did the show on stage, and the whole
thing was we kept bringing in NFL players, former NFL
players to come on with us and talk fantasy. We
would do breakdowns everything else. Right, So every time we
brought in an NFL player, we had to decide, like, Okay,
who wants to be the talent that does the segment
with them? Like someone who knew their career or anything
else is okay? So like and and the two people
(08:27):
I signed up for when they came in were Jake
Plumber because I'm like, dude, I know, come on, man,
this guy's like a Yetti I got. I want to
I want to hang out with Jake.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
You can.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Stuff.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I mean this this is about eight years ago. But
I'm like, no, dude, I got I gotta Jake Plumber.
I gotta find out what's going on with this guy. Right.
So Jake and the other guy, of course was Wayne Crebbett.
And so I'm like, oh, awesome because they all knew
Jets fan Wayne Corebbett. Okay, great.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
So Crebet is the big guest of the day because it's.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
In New York and they knew he was coming, and
I think he signed autographs after. So we had a
house from everything else. Corebet comes in, gets a big
round of applause everything else. So then I go and
I sit down with him, and I can't tell you
how many people told me before I sat down and going,
oh my god, are you excited to be hanging overy?
I said, yeah, yeah, it's gonna be cool because look,
you know, look here I was going on, I'm a
(09:17):
professional and and it's gonna be fun and I'm not
gonna sit here and fanboy. Look, but at least five
people told me, oh, I saw Wayne before, and I said, dude,
you're gonna and they said, you're gonna be so excited.
The guy you're with, Jason Smith, is this huge Jets fan.
He knows everything about your career. And I'm like, oh,
that's cool. Then when about the fifth person told me,
they said that Tokrebett, and I go, he's gonna think
(09:39):
I'm a bleeping lunatic because all even told us this
guy can't wait to hang out with you. Man, this
guy can't wait. This guy can go oh my god,
oh my god, oh my god. So I sit down,
Corebet comes and sits down and go, hey Wayne Jason Smith.
He goes, you're the Jet fan. I said, yeah, how
you doing that? Nice to meet you out big, you know,
a big fan, my whole life everything else. And I
said you scared a little bit, like like when you're
(09:59):
hear and he kind of goes eh.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
So I knew they.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
And I'm like, how did this happen? And like he
was coming on a lunch break because he was he's
a stockbroker, I think, and he like was coming on
a lunch break to go do this and go back,
and I go, I just don't want people to think
I'm crazy as crazy Jets fan now here I am
on the radio to people go no, no, no, that's
exactly what he was like. And so but when you
(10:27):
get that little bit of a I go, oh my god,
I'm just gonna oh my god. And I was so
embarrassed because for all the people is saying, oh, Jason's
gonna be so, he's gonna loved hagging out with you
so wild, Like god, I was like, and he saw me,
and I'm thinking he's just thinking I'm some guy walking
around going like I'm a hamburglar except dressed in a
(10:48):
suit and talking about fantas you are.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
That guy seemed kind of well, I mean, you really
got to lean into who you are. By the way,
I know that I'm always gonna be bumping my head
against the ceiling because I refuse to call myself talent.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
He's talent. It's talent. It's talent, it's talent. Uh so yeah,
so that's that's Wayne Corbett. That's my way. I was
excited for a second because I thought about Wayne Corbett
and the guy when when the when the when bustin Marathon.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Yeah, no, it's that's too bad, buddy, Sorry to hear that.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Yeah, but then we actually had good conversations because we
talked about we talked about the Jets, and we talked
about the team and and it was just like a
cool conversation where we said, oh, man, that the you know,
the year you had in two thousand and when we
started off. He goes, oh, that was some start. I go, yeah,
Curtis three of that touchdown against the Bucks, and he
dropped his glove. He looked at me. He says, oh,
you really are a Jets And I said, oh, yeah,
(11:36):
you're kidding. And you and then you and then you
put your hand and you put your finger up number one. Uh,
and you were shutting the crowd after and he goes, wow,
you remember that, huh? And I said yeah. I said,
I'm getting into into bad territory again.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Ar Yeah, see you brought it all the way back. Yeah,
I'm just a fan. I'm no creeper. And then you
stuck your finger with the number one.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
And then I said, well there was a big play.
Curtis Martin. He was the first game that Jets played
against Keishawn after he got traded to the Bucks and
they won with Curtis throwing a half back option pass
to Corbett in the final minute for a touchdown. And
you know this is the you know because Keyshawn and
Corbett and their rivalry. And he scores and he puts
his finger up, you know, number one, and then and
then does this shush to the Tampa Bay crowd, which
(12:19):
is such an awesome moment. And then I'm like, Okay,
now he thinks I'm a lunatic. Now I'm a lunatic again.
I did all I did now, But all I did
was I remember the game. It's one of the biggest
games that Jets don't have a lot of big wins
in their history. That was one of them.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Did you go to a hotel afterwards and make up?
Speaker 3 (12:32):
No?
Speaker 1 (12:33):
No, no, no, But I do notice that he left
before I could say goodbye to him.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
That did happen.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
I wanted to saying I'm your friend, Hey, you got
my check. I'm leaving before this guy comes up to
me again.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
It says something you probably never ran so fast.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
I gotta go, I gotta go. I'm not gonna, I'm
not I don't want to hang out with that guy anymore.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
That guy's crazy cartoons are spinning.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Remember when you were on the Jets, man, that was
that was That's just crazy, man, that was that was cool.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
And then you held Curtis Martin's hand for how long?
Speaker 2 (13:08):
No?
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Yeah, well between him and Charles Woodson, I think, you know,
just like I'm seeing all the videos of this guy
doing push ups and setting world records for most push
ups in an hour. I mean, you guys, you know
that death grip. Oh, it was more the staring do
with giants soul. Yeah, he did steal your soul like
a dementor.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
He did.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
No.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
But but again, we we have we have we have
cemented that he does not hate me as much as
oral Hrscheizer.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
No, No, there's always number one, because I want to
get him back on the show so I can ask
him about these local commercials.
Speaker 6 (13:38):
I got questions, you know, we were he said, I
was watching the game with my dad this weekend, and
then and then you were just hanging out and they
showed that commercial during the.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Dodger game, and my dad just goes, oh, hey, there's
a guy that hates you. He said, anything for like, Dad,
here's a guy who that's horl right wrong? Thanks yeah,
thanks Dad.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
And then the jam Thank you Dad, Yeah, I appreciate that.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon Live from the ti iraq dot com studios.
I've had sex with him like fifty sixty times on camera.
And right now there is absolute insanity going on in Sacramento,
(14:39):
and to no one's surprise, at least it shouldn't be
to anyone surprise, Draymond Green is at the center of it.
There is a timeout on the floor. Sacramento leads Golden
State ninety one to eighty seven, about seven minutes to
go in the fourth quarter. Draymond Green is on the bench,
towel around his neck, and he is screaming at what
(15:01):
looks to be a group of fans.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Probably I don't know.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
I would say that the upper level of the first
level of the of the seats, yeah, but but it
looks like it's a group of fans that are not
right behind the bench. But it's in the first section,
but they're at the the end of that top level,
so maybe about fans that are about five or seven
rows from where the players are sitting. And he is
(15:25):
standing up screaming at them, yelling, and they are screaming
and yelling back at him. I mean, this is just crazy.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
And now there is a bit of order trying to
be restored on the court. The officials are looking at replays,
are looking at stuff on the floor.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
I don't know if they're looking away.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
I mean, I I don't know if they're looking at
what happened with Draymond on the court after the play
was over. But this is what's happening right now. It
is absolute insanity, No holds barred.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
In Moscow, a misshot a scrum for a rebound, and
as bodies are flying, a member of the Kings goes
to the ground and as he goes to turn back
up court, using the well, I'm kind of out of control,
so I could probably get away with this, he does
a footstomp to the man's chest and then turns and
runs up court and all of this chaos ensues. Thereafter
(16:21):
he's high five and everybody on the bench Meanwhile, you
got the trainers attending to the Kings player who's on
the ground because he's in a lot of pain. And
now I believe he's been assessed a technical foul and
now he's cursing out the referee at the scorers table.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, I mean it looks like, look, I'm sure he'll
wind up being ejected. I am sure he'll wind up
being suspended.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
And yeah, he did get herself ejective.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
It's just happened. Draymond Green just got ejected, just got arrest.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Sit down, guys, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
I mean, that really was a huge stomp. And now
to play this out for you and tell you exactly
what happens. We're watching replays and doing the show at
the same time. Draymond is now screaming at the official
after getting his flagrant too and getting ejected. So the
play comes down and demo to Sabanis is on the
ground and it looks like Sabonis kind of grabs Draymond's
(17:19):
leg a little bit. It looks like he grabs his
leg a tiny bit, and this is when Draymond, in
an effort to try to disengage his leg from Sabanis,
comes up and looks like, well, it's up and it
has to come down fast so I don't lose my balance,
and his foot comes down right in Sabonis's midsection. He
(17:40):
was on the floor. He is up now walking around.
It looks like he's okay. It looks like he's gonna
be able to stay in the game. But Draymond Green
went to the bench and he was screaming at the
fans while this was being adjudicated on the court. It
comes back as a flagrant too, and a suspension, and
suddenly this story has taken over the night. Draymond Green,
who I believe is already recording his podcast. He's out,
(18:02):
and you can record your podcast even though you've been ejected, right,
you are not. There is no ban in recording your
podcast if you are rejected from the game.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
By the way, Sibonis was a dope too, right, you're
the guy his leg a little bit, yeah, kind of,
but not fully, just enough to impede him and then
you get stomped. So two idiots. It's a basketball game.
It's not the WWE. We's got a tech, as he say, he.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Could get a tech, and they were shooting it and
that was fine, because he did put his arms around
Draymond's leg. Look, honestly, you could have if it wasn't
for the violent nature of Draymond stepping on Sabanis. It
looked like one of those Hey, okay, Sabanis does that,
Draymond Green reacts and they both get penalized equally. But
I mean, you can't stop on a guy and then
(18:48):
leap and then jump off of him, right.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
This is a good leap though.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
But look, but this is who Draymond is, right, This
is who Draymond's been his entire career. He has been
this guy and he likes to walk away around with
a well I'm just playing and I don't know why
this is happening, and I'm there. He's got such a
victim mentality of all they're picking on me. But this
is who he's been. He's been a bully, He's done
things like this. This is kind of Draymond's whole career
(19:13):
wrapped up in one play. Right. You can't do that, right,
Sabanis grabbed his ankle. Okay, I get it. And you
can look at that and look at it and say, okay,
you know, Sabanis has to worry about what's going on
here for him himself. But Draymond Green, you can't just
stomp on a guy, you know, you can't. You can't.
I mean he he would have and it looked like
he put pressure on his right foot as he was
jumping off of Sais.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Yeah, I mean as a springboard as well.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Yeah, that's like a WWE you know, stump by Draymond Green.
That's a one of those boom boom, boom boom and
the wrestler lays on the ground and they're curled up,
and the other guy turns around he starts playing to
the crowd for a couple of minutes. That's kind of
what this looks at.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
No, but I mean the at the end game of
it all is I mean, nobody needs to be inspired
in big moments more than Steph and Klay Thompson. So
Draymond really using his head here with this young inexperienced Uh.
They have no battle scars, no battle tests at all,
so they really needed to be inspired by him acting
(20:13):
like a fool. I'll tell you man, Sorry, sarcasm bucket
was full. I don't know that I got the proper intonation.
That's what I was trying to say there.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
That's no.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
I think we got I think we got I think
we got it. Look, hey, this is a great series
right now. You know, Sacramento's up by a bucket with
five and a half left to go, But this Draymond
story is going to be it. And I tell you,
I get. I get. I'm at the point now with
Draymond fatigue where I'm like, Okay, I've seen this so
many times from the guy, and I know what's gonna happen.
And Draymond's gonna come out and he's gonna say it's
(20:43):
you know, the league is against me, they pick on me,
they do all these things. Where is the foul call
on him? I you know, I was just trying to
go like I'm FITTI because I know exactly how it's
gonna go, because he's very predictable, because he's been this
guy through his whole career. And I'm honestly I'm surprised
that They're hasn't been a team that has said, hey, Draymond,
you think this is what you're gonna do, well, guess
(21:05):
what You're gonna get an elbow to the ribs. You're
gonna get something else where. Hey, we are gonna stop
you from doing this, Like, I'm really surprised that Draymond's
been allowed to not run unchecked, but really be this
kind of player without another team going Okay, we got
to stop this from happening to us. We gotta we
got to stand up for ourselves when this is going on.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Yeah, it's it's just that curiosity of who's gonna be
the sacrificial lamb, as it were, to say, you know what,
here's we're ordering the code red because that that becomes
a whole other problem for the NBA, and Adam Silver
doesn't want to adjudicate any of that stuff. So I
think there's a gentleman's agreements, like if he's gonna go
over the top, and again, Simona shouldn't be grabbing for
(21:44):
his leg. I understand the argument of, all right, what's
he supposed to do with this, Well, not stomp down
at a guy. Or if you feel like you need
to fall, maybe you fall. You're not Anthony Davis, You'll
get back up. Okay, Oh wow, that's not why that
to my face?
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Mike, all right, I walked over. In a minute, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
But I get it, like, you don't necessarily want to
fall to the court right, because I don't know knees, ankles, whatever,
and and maybe you land just wrong on your hand.
I get it to a point. It's because the arguments
are already coming. What's he supposed to do? It's like,
not stomp on the guy?
Speaker 2 (22:25):
How about that?
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Not stomp at the guy, try to slow things down
if you need to lean on him a little bit.
Simonis is a pretty pretty tall guy. You could probably
find the extended knee as he's rolling and writhing on
the ground or whatever, to to break your the momentum
of everything instead of stomping and then leaping away like
a gazelle and trying to be a rabble rouser. I
(22:49):
mean he went full heel turn as I started earlier. Yeah,
I mean full heel turn and used his full heel.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
But does he deserve to be kicked out?
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Oh? Yeah, you can't do that. You can you can't.
There's no way you can't not get kicked out after
that a playoff game, Yeah no, I can't, can't you can.
You can't stomp on a guy in the who's on
the floor in in a in a very I don't
want to say defenseless position, but the guys on the
floor and you clearly do that on purpose. Now you
(23:22):
can't do that. You're out of the game. You're out
of the game. He deserves to be thrown out desert.
I'm sure he's yelling about what happened to me and
the guy grabbed my leg. But it's like, it's like
if if it's like if Harmon took my pen and
I would that I was writing with for the night,
And I'm like, Harmon took my pen and I go
on and then I slash his tires Like I'm not
that's not really, that's not an equal in proportionate I've
(23:46):
always wanted to slash tight. No, that's not an equal
in proportionate response to you took my pen that I
was using, and now I mean that, But that's what
it is. Oh, I grabbed your legs to stop you
from running up court. No, look and sab.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Somebody's heel you get stomped.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
No, but you just can't.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
They're connected. At least they're connected.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
Yeah, well, Harmon.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Your pen and you slashing his tires have nothing to
do with each other.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
No, who sure it is it's Harmon taking my pen.
It's me saying I don't like that, so I'm gonna
slash the.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Tires with a pen. No, No, I wouldn't exactly related. Yes,
they are, just because why would it mean if I.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Knew you would have to take the extra time to
walk on down the hall into the parking lot find
my car. No, and I'm on the second level, so
that's more walking until I found yours.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
I would just say he would.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Keep every car until he got yours.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
I would just find the purple car. And that's what
I would start with.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
A start with the purple car, and then find the
second purple car. And if that wasn't right, then the
next one. I'm just saying it would be fghan wigs
tape deck inside. Well, that is true. You might find
the giant picture of the blackbird on the I just
pull out.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
One of those john Wick knives and he does one
of those. It boom, Was it the butterfly that he had?
The butterfly? When when you can do it and just
kind of do that whole that john Wick does.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Especially if you can make that noise. You're not far
off from Donald duck.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
God, No, that's we.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Were getting close.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Tell you what.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Getting McDonald's fighting in his stomach that well that that
is a sound that it will make. It will make.
There's no question.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Donald and now that the King and the Hamburg we're
getting after my meats war real, no meats mo real.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Ronald McDonald and the Burger King are doing the Sharks
of the Jets and they got the wrist tied up
like they did the knife fights in The problem.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Is the King. I don't think he had a full menagerie.
He didn't have a whole Royal four find him.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
I think he was spoting solo as opposed to the
McDonald's universe.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
It's like normal people have like the angel on one
side of their shoulder and the devil on the other.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Jason just has the King Ronald commission and a project
with that.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
What do you want to do? But you know, look
to get to a different part of this is that
after it happens, Draymond gets up and he stands Look.
I told you how he was screaming at the at
the Kings fans. He gets up and he is just
losing his mind. He just stands up and he is
screaming at the fans and the warriors around. It seemed
(26:19):
to have his back a little bit, and then they
seem not to because he yells at the very beginning,
you think, okay, that's fine, Like he really has a
w W moment, Like he gets the you know, he
gets the foul called, he gets ejected, and he does
the the ah, the handwave at at the at the official,
he does the handwave at the crowd. Then he walks
to the bench and he stands and he just starts
(26:39):
screaming and he's clapping his hands. And in the beginning,
the Warriors are like, yeah, yeah, it's funny, and it's like, oh,
it's not ending now. Now we're all just standing here.
It's really awkward because Draymond is just yelling at the
fans and they're all yelling back at it.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Jason, he was yelling at down I guess they were
playing his music earlier. That got people a little upset.
I mean, really, this is this is a cast. This
is completely on brand for Draymond Green. I can't I
can't even say I'm surprised. I've just been this is
completely on brand for him. In the middle of a game,
(27:15):
the game that the Warriors were coming back from, they
were winning, this is the play he decides to make
and then I make it all about me when the
rest of us have to play this game. Right, this
is we could go down to ZIP in this series,
but I'm gonna make it about me, and I'm gonna
make it much more difficult for my team because I'm
gonna do this.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
I mean, this is Draymond Green.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Damian Lillard on Twitter quote take fall on Sibonis. I
didn't think Dre tried to step down, That's just how
his balance ended up. And then the shrug emoji. Already
over twelve hundred comments.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Maybe he wants to be on. Maybe he's the first
guest on Draymond Green's podcast, and that's how it's gonna go.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
Does he traveled with the equipment as it's set up
in the locker room? Not sure either way that.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
He just want no he actually he already has like
his earp set in and he's got it built into
his jersey so he can start recording at any time.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
But like to give you his towel, and then he
started running up the tunnel. So I mean the number
of podcasts jokes if I had a nickel right now, yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
I mean, I mean just absolute craziness from Draymond. But
the look. That's the other issue. The other part about
this is, oh did he do it? Did he not? No,
but I decide to implode and I'm gonna make it
more difficult for my team to rebound and go on
like this is one of the This is one of
those moments where I really do believe this. This is
(28:31):
one of those moments where at the end of the season,
if the Warriors don't win, this is where they look
back and they say, we can't have Draymond anymore. This
is where, you know, all the antics and all the
kinds of things we have. We've not been on the
rise over the course of the past year. You know,
we had the title and now we're not better. We
got to get younger. He wants money, and then he
(28:53):
does this in a game we have to have. That's
a couple of points game, and that's going to fire
up the other team make it more difficult for us
to win. I wouldn't be saying this is the moment
you look back to and go, Okay, we're done. Like
you just watching him scream and yell at the fans
is like, what the hell? Man, Like, what what the
hell are you doing? You know what I mean, and
(29:14):
the fact that that that Golden State has the culture
that they do where they all at least stood behind him,
I think that's great, right, and that's that that's a
that's a testament to what they have a we're gonna
stand behind we're gonna do these we're gonna do these things,
and we're going to be able to stay together as
a team. But you watch Steve Kerr who walks over
(29:35):
and through everybody, stands behind Draymond and says, that's it.
That's it, all right, that's it, that's it, And then
Draymond yells for a couple more seconds and then sits
down like like, I look at this moment, and I go,
this is the moment Draymond Green became an ex Golden
State warrior.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Wellya is frostper gonna chatting this up right? Because remember
famously in March quote I don't get baited into technical files.
So I think that's probably the difference between me and
him talking about Dylan Brooks at the time, but talking
about how he's always in control and he knows what
he's doing. But here's the thing. Your reputation is that
these are the kind of things you do which means
(30:11):
even if it's a playoff game, you ain't getting the
benefit of the doubt.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Wait a minute, A wait, did you just go from
rock Me Amadais to to Branson Pocket?
Speaker 2 (30:27):
I actually did.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
I really wanted to hear rock me Amedeis really deis, Yeah,
because Zoe's actually learning about Amadaeus right now in school,
and I said, hey, you don't need to pay attention
to class. I'm going to play you rock Me Amadaais.
You know everything about his career, Well.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
You can add some culture in school.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
In fifteen eighty seven, Wolf cambadais Mozart, Mary's constant waiver
rock me Amadayas.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
By the way, Uh, it's history.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
It's it's like a jaunt part part of history. It's
it's rock music of the eighties, that's what she's sixteen
ninety two, Wolfgang of a Day as Mozart becomes a freemason. Well,
seventeen ninety four Mozart dies.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
Yeah, But nowadays that's a full major in college. It
is it is pop culture is my degree.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
But I just love that they I mean, I think
we need more songs that actually give you a song
and you learn about something well.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
I mean, that's why, as annoying as it is, we
didn't start the.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Fire was huge at the age of five, and Medos
begins composing Boom. In seventeen seventy three, he writes his
first piano concerto Boom.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
I mean, Sam Malone was ahead of the time, though Albania, sure, oh, Calbania,
key border on the Adriatic.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Seventeen ninety one, Mozart composes the Magic Flute Boom. That's
all you need to know.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Wasn't that a Smurfs movie? In the Magic Flute?
Speaker 1 (31:59):
No, you know what. I really had a good line
for that, But I gotta wait ten minutes to get
in the safe Farmer.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
I'm pretty sure that was Ron Burgundy's flute.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
I gotta wait, I gotta wait, I gotta wait, I
gotta wait.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
And Yes. Nineteen seventy six, murs in the Magic Flute for.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
The first time in the Steph Curry era. The Warriors
are trailing two games to none in the NBA Playoffs.
The Kings have just closed out a one to fourteen
to one oh six win over Golden State, a nip
tuck game turns the King's way following these events. In
(32:37):
the fourth quarter, it was to play down under the
King's hoop where after the shot went up, demantas Sabonis
fell down, kind of grabbed Draymond Greens around the leg
to maybe stop him from running up court. And then
Draymond Green does this, gets ejected for a flagrant two,
(32:59):
and the King use out as a springboard to go
win the game.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
Again, watch the sequence at the end of the play
down Sabonus, he grabs Draymond. Draymond immediately steps on him,
and that was intentional by Draymond with that right foot,
because if you're trying to get out an opponent's way,
you can step over a slightly step on them. That
one was a little bit more emphasis because his leg
got grabbed.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
That is longtime friend of our show, Jim Jackson with
Rawall on TNT, and he is absolutely right. Draymond Green
could have found a way to not stomp on to
Manto Sibonis. This is who he is. This is Sabonus
grabbed his leg, and hey, that's gotta be something that's
looked at because you can't do that, but to stomp
on a guy, Come on, man, really, I mean, I
(33:45):
don't get the psychology where you you think that's something
I can do. Right. If this is the second quarter
of game seventeen of an eighty two game season and
you get pissed off at somebody, you want to send
them a message. Look, I understand that. I understand all
of that. I get it's part of the season. Half.
This is game two of a playoff series. Man, You're
(34:07):
you're not the you're not up one zip and you're
up by twenty five points. Or it's a game that
you're losing and you're down by twenty five points, and
it doesn't matter none of these. This is a nip,
this is a this is a three point game. And
you decide to do this where you know it's gonna
get called, and then you make the moment about yourself
and you start yelling at the crowd and you start
(34:28):
screaming at them, losing your control on the bench, and
Steve Ker's gotta come over and say, okay, enough, sit
down and then try to get this game back. And
guess what happened. The game didn't come back. The King's
crowd went even more insane after that, and they wound
up winning the game. If I'm the Warriors right now,
I'm in the locker room and I go, dude, don't
I do the Lou Brown for major League? Nice catch, Hayes.
(34:50):
Don't ever blank and do that again. That's I go, Draymond.
If you ever do that again and cost us a game,
we're gonna have a problem. Don't ever do that again.
And man, come on, you're smarter that. Don't ever do
that again. This where you kind of have to do that.
You kind of have to have that. Hey, dude, I
don't know how much longer you're gonna be here, and
I'm sure after this this happened, you're probably gonna be
(35:11):
off the team. In this offseason. They got you, got
one year left on your contract, they're not gonna pay you.
They will probably trade you someplace you they will move on.
But for this playoffs right now, don't do that crap again.
Come on, man, we're all in this together, we're all
trying to play, we're all trying to keep keep this
season going. And you make this moment about yourself and
you make it a bet. Yeah, because I can't keep
control of my emotions and I wind up losing it
(35:33):
and we wind up losing the game as a result.
So yeah, you do that again, We're gonna have problems.
And I'm everybody on the team. I'm Steph, and I'm Clay,
and I'm Jordan Poole. Because you know, Pool's gotta love
that moment. Yeah, you know that's gonna happen that way.
Everybody's got to tell them that because this really was
an unforgivable moment for Draymond Green, simply because of the
(35:54):
stakes involved, regular season game. It's gonna be ah, Draymond,
did it? Look at you got a lot of a
Dixie's a dirty player, blah blah blah. This is a
playoff game you helped give away. You helped give away
a playoff game because you couldn't control yourself when when
it came down to it, that's on you.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Draymond talked about it earlier, the sighting back in March, saying, well,
I do things purposefully.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
You're not gonna bait me into this situation.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Well, in this moment, and whatever you want to say
about Simonis, I'm seeing the argument being made from some
that well Sibonis was going to cover his face. He
didn't know Draymond's leg was there. It's like, all right,
I'm not five. All right, you're you're not fooling that down. Yeah,
that said, it still doesn't account for the stomping. When
you're a guy with the history, the pedigree and everything
(36:38):
that you have as Draymond Green, You're not gonna get
away with that, even in a playoff game. You're You're
not that guy. And on the balance are you now?
You know you always used to say the talent, Trump's
the trouble. Where are we on that that continuum for
Draymond Green? Because now you're down two monstrous monstrous And.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
More on this breaking and developing story coming up next.
Draymond the Warriors, the Kings, and the Big Night in
the NBA
