Speaker 2 (00:49):
Thank you, Nico uh heyk icou still all Lakers.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Nearing the end of the third quarter, it is a
sixteen point lead for Los Angeles seventy nine sixty three.
The Lakers absolutely need this game to keep their Western
Conference first Round series with the Timberwolves manageable. As the
Tea Wolves come in and take Game one, Lakers have
been rolling all through Game two and look quite honestly
it's just sometimes you can get deep into a game
(01:18):
and say, well, the match up at the top of
the key, which favored the Timberwolves in Game one, And
sometimes it's just you could see a team coming out
that is playing with more desperation and at a different
level than they played Game one. The Lakers did not
play Game one at a great level. And the good
news is you see what happens when they play at
this level. The bad news is we're still saying things
like the Lakers need to play at a high level. Yeah, yeah, yeah, fine,
(01:43):
Like we can only keep saying that for so long.
This is where you should be playing at the highest
level all the way through. You should be able to find.
I get in middle of the season, there's doldrums and
how bored they were after the first month the Luka
Doncics trade. I get if the energy goes out of
the building a little bit. You know how good you are.
You don't need to worry about assimilating him into the offense.
You can see it's another great era of Lakers basketball coming. Okay,
(02:06):
so I get where they slump a little bit against
bad teams the last month and half of the season,
but like coming out and just laying that egg in
Game one, watching the Wolves shoot ninety eight percent from
three point range when this was probably the best defensive
team in the NBA fort metrics. Wise, the way the
Lakers were since the beginning of the year, Like, it's like,
how many more times you need to do this? How
many times we need to say Lakers have to have
(02:28):
a better sense of urgency, Lakers got to come out
and play things better. Don't know how they do it.
How do they keep doing this? But yet we still
have this conversation.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Yeah, I mean the biggest part of it, Jason is
when you look at the larger scope, right, he's yelling,
thank U Niko. What was one of the reasons they gave. Well,
he does keep himself in shape, and we thought he
was bogged down and over time that's gonna wear and
he's not gonna be available, defensive lapses, whatever else. Right,
every little line that started coming out there and refute
(02:59):
it as you will, that's part of the narrative. Likewise,
Lebron James, he's not getting any younger. I don't know
if you know this, but he's forty. No one says that.
But again, it's now playing a second season. Yeah, and right,
a lot of deep runs in the playoffs. Even the
last couple of years, you've had a lot of extra games,
(03:21):
and he hasn't taken a lot of time off to
his credit, right load management. He missed that week at
one point, but otherwise he went through and he played.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Oh we got eight games and six nights coming up. Yeah,
I'm gonna miss that week, like the way I've flipped
that up. Oh in my no, no no, But because it's
a family thing. Family, my son's playing in the playoffs,
back to back, day off, back to back, day off,
back to back. Yeah, I'll see you guys on Saturday
a week. But he came back.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
But otherwise, you know, he only missed a couple of games.
But it's still the why why tempt fate?
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Right? If you can go, don't play with your food
these guys as.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Fast as you can, you may have the opportunity to
have an extra day or two off on the back end, right,
especially because you were coming off a layoff two Like.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
That's the other thing is you know the old Ress Rust.
Everybody wanted to do that. No, screw that, it's the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
It's a ress Russ it's Game one at home, great,
greatly anticipated, probably more so than anything. You say, what
was it the first time they played a game one
at home like that in what ten years?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Twelve years, something like that. So it's asd I to say, well,
you know, they come out a little bit of flat nigdo.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Have some direction and purpose, come with authority, first year
head coach, trying to shut up guys like Jason Smith
won five eight.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Two, nine four, whatever the hell is his number was,
and all those things.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
I mean, it took Rick Flair coming out tonight and
new Wig to get them ready. Look, he doesn't have
the title raiging you know, record anymore, seeing it took
that from him, So he's got to show up at
Laker games to get some glory.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
All right, Just tell me this, now, tell me this.
Can you ask me how many more nights are you're
going to try to shoehorn in WrestleMania. I mean, I
feel like you're your brain. Your brain is entirely dealing
with wrestleman, and how many times you bring up the Mets.
You have no room for anything else right now? You
have no red I just made it your coherent point. Yeah,
to get to I want to bring up WrestleMania. Is
(05:20):
that's you made a whole long point brought up? Was there?
It wasn't about WrestleMania was there too?
Speaker 3 (05:27):
It was a he was You just couldn't see, No,
you didn't. I mean it was a very oblique reference
to Wrestleman.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
I gets about forty one, this forty one that I
was at with my brothers the last year.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
I said that, just like you did with every reference
to the Padres.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Need you knew what we need to do with Padre Potters,
Ty with the Mets. Mets have the best record in baseball,
Tie with the Potters. You need one of those? And
what was it? I can't It wasn't. It wasn't Minority Report.
What was that? Most that movie where everybody gets deprogramming
in the Feuture where it's like, Okay, we've got to
wipe your your brain clean and give you new memories
and new things, like I think you need that. I
think you need a you need you need you need
(06:08):
to have your memory wiped. You need a recot what
did they call it, thatahy thing? Yeah no, but but
but you still have all that. It doesn't matter. You
can't get them to forget WrestleMania, Well you get slapty.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
You need audience, you need to take those you need
to take that story just out of your head, so
you don't even know what wrestling. I mean, it is
the biggest sports news of the weekend. Like when we're
just ignoring.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
It, like when Homer to know what a donut was. Oh,
look it's raining. Look that's what. But uh, it's very chaotic.
You're very chaotic. Speaking of chaos, Gonic, I made a
great point about the Lakers and expectations, and then you
got mad, and then you turned your computer to me
to show me something from WrestleMania while we were That
was before game two?
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Was it?
Speaker 1 (06:51):
That was before game two?
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Nothing?
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Facing me right now yourself? Because he said he got
the crowd fired up. I know we're doing a show,
but look at this picture of Rick Flat.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
It's part of the story of the Lakers dominance. They
needed inspiration from an all time great.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Calm the chaos with a shipping software that delivers use
code sports for a free trial at shipstation dot com.
That shipstation dot com code sports now the most bizarre
story in sports the last couple of days. I mean,
not just Harmon's obsession with WrestleMania. This stuff going on
with Shannon Sharp. Really, when I kind of said earlier
(07:34):
in the show, this is like a decline and fall
of Western civilization story, it kind of is. Okay. Shannon
Sharp who gets accused of sexual assault and has a
fifty million dollar lawsuit civil lawsuit filed against him. Tony
Busby is the lawyer. You remember Tony Busby's name. He
was the one who represented all the victims in the
(07:56):
Deshaun Watson case. So Tony Busby's been a real high
profile lawyers, has been around for a long time. And
this story gets out, and right away when the story
gets out, it's we don't care if you want to
know or not. Here comes all the details. Here comes
audio tape, right, audio tape of conversations with the woman
who is Jane Doe and Shannon Sharp, and it's supposedly
(08:17):
of conversation the two of them having about what they're
going to do to each other sexually. And then Shannon Sharp,
upset with that getting out, comes out with his own
video today saying it's a shakedown. You release ten seconds
of the video, release the entire video. Shannon Sharp begs everybody.
Release the entire video consensual sex that we've had that
I've known her, Release all of it. And then we
(08:40):
find out it's the Jane Doe. We get her identity
and it's a twenty year old woman. And now it's like, Okay,
she's twenty, he's fifty four. And I look at this
and I go, what the hell is going on here?
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Man?
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Like, what the hell is this? The most shocking thing
to me? And this this plays into this. I see
this story come out and I go, boy, I know
way more about Shannon sharp sex life the last few
months and anything else. Here's a leaked video of him
having sex with with some woman, and now here's this
story and it's I mean, really, how is his sex
life so out there? It's like Kim Kardashian, of of
(09:11):
the you know, of of now, of of twenty twenty five,
we're now here's stuff getting out there, and I want
stuff out there because I want to show you what
this is. It's like we have hit a level of
fame and and and exposition of stories like this where
it's like, Okay, can't we just go back to when
we used to have I don't I don't want to say,
I don't want to say legal morality, but more more
(09:33):
like the moral laws that we kind of adhere to
when stories like this came out, right, because this story
is wild, it's seedy, it's not Disney which where he
appears for right, he's still on First Take, which I
can't believe he's still on the air. Which shows you
where ESPN and the way the world has gone the
last few years, where wait, this comes out and Shannon
(09:53):
Sharp is still on ESPN, right, Like, think of all
the other stuff that people got pulled off ESPN. They're like, wow,
this is good, this is a this is he's accused
of rape, he is there's video out there, there's sexual
there's tapes out there, there's all kinds of crazy stuff,
and he's still allowed to be on the aleg This
shows you where the world is right now, where we
have lost that, we have lost that the moral laws.
(10:15):
And I'm not going to stand on the soapbox here,
but just like usually when stories like this would come
out in the past, it was it had its place,
and it was here are the details. You can find
him if you want them, but we're nearly not going
to publicize them. And we're going to get a result
on this and then you will know how this plays out.
But instead that's all Helen gone, and this is all
everything in your face and all the information out there,
(10:37):
and it's just being handled in such a way that
it's it's like a microcosm of what we've had the
last few years, right, Like we see all kinds of
stuff politically now where it gets out and we see
how the sausage is made. And I'm the one says
I don't always need to see how the sausage is made.
You could just show me the sausage and say, okay,
hey that's great. Sage's made pretty good. But now we
see it everywhere and everyone is afraid of fallout. And
(10:58):
sports used to be anti that, or used to always
be where you look to to say, okay, sports is
gonna lead the world the right way for for everything
going on, and now it's not. I mean, I really
it's it's it's it's just a point where when this
story gets out and it just seems so every day
with the times, and and and in three days it's
gone from hey here's a serious story too. Now it's
(11:19):
played out with people making videos instead of keeping the
videos private, which is what both sides want to do.
I want to keep this video private. Let's keep this red. Nope,
we're releasing it. It's out. Let's put out more videos
of this, Let's have more information on it. Really like
like this is this is really a mirror of society
that I go, wow, man, we really we really have
gone around the bend.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yeah, I mean some of it becomes the it's accusations
and you decide, all right, are we going to bench
them until there's a decision. Uh, if they decide they
want to fight, as Shannon did. Right, you talked about
reading that statement and saying, hey, disclose it all, et cetera,
that you stand by your guy that if you believe
(12:00):
Eve and and behind the scenes, I gotta imagine there's
been a million meetings before he gets on air. I
mean just look down down the aisle there you've got
Pat McAfee, same pay right, he's got a legal case
that's getting ready to get battled through through the courts.
What whatever responsibility may be for all of that online stuff,
(12:20):
the woman and the accusations.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Made towards her and her life.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Uh, that that got affected by things that got pushed
on his program. So same idea, right of you know,
things that used to be all right, your sidelined until
this is finished.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
We we just.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Let it play out At this point, right, there's not
the same level of uh shame, And I think as
long as the the audience is still there and there's
not whatever curating backlash to things, right, because people love
salacious deals, details on stuff, right, the tmzification of it all,
(13:03):
even if they don't necessarily have the same relevance. We
see everything on social media. I've seen more of this
than that.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
It's there.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
I mean, I did a cursory all right, here are
the highlights, low lights, whatever you want to call him
on it. It's like it doesn't intrigue me fast. I
hope she's okay. If legitimately this is you know, this
claim has merit that you know, she gets whatever peace,
healing restitution she needs and if not, he's exonerated, like
(13:35):
it's another one of those stories. But to your point, yeah,
we've seen it with the leagues right to where they
don't get involved necessarily the same way. I mean, Deshaun Watson,
how long did it take before the league finally.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Did them right?
Speaker 3 (13:49):
And even then did you feel like it it really
hit the measurement that it should have. Go back to
Michael Vick all those years ago, right, he got more
from the courts than he did from from the league.
Speaker 1 (14:02):

a nine point game, A nine point lead for the
(16:32):
Lakers over the Tea Wolves eighty six to seventy seven,
though time is starting to get a little short from
Minnesota just under six minutes left to go in the
fourth quarter. A big Lebron hoop right now for dis
from Austin Reeves put that lead back at eleven. But
the Tea Wolves have been chipping away over the course
of the past six minutes of game time.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Lakers had missed ten strange shots before that layup by Lebron.
You gotta bring that out then, well, just call it
what it is. I mean, I again trying to give
specificity and more breadth to what we're talking about.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
You couldn't just make it up and say eight turnovers,
you have to go ten? No, do get up eight.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
Whatever long scoring droughts and issues, and now we have
a well a whole other scenario starting to unfold.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Now I have my favorite NFL Draft story for you

(18:06):
of the draft into our show, which follows at the
conclusion of that first round right here on Fox Sports
Radio with a live video simulcast on the Fox Sports
Radio YouTube page, presented by Express Pros so Frostburg. So
I was talking to Frostburg last night. Well, then this
gets in my favorite draft story. This is not the
favorite story. So I said, we were talking last night.
You know, Justin was off last week and you were
(18:28):
off last night. We were all out of California Adventure
Disneyland last night for the Big iHeartRadio night, and I said, dude,
what am I gonna do? Joe Douglas is gonna be here? Like,
what the hell do I do? Man? Like, I'm gonna
see him when he finishes the show, when he's leaving,
and I'm coming on, Like, what do we do it?
Because Frostburg, who's producing the show that I was producing
the NFL Draft, which is as every year he goes,
(18:49):
I'll get him to stay and do a segment with you.
I'm like, wait, what awesome? He's gonna stay. Joe Tuglas
is gonna stay? Do I not wear jet Skiar? Like?
Do I not tell? Like what I do is yeah, No,
I'll get him to stay. He's a great guy. I'm like, okay, well,
but I mean we we did often talk about how
the process on paper looked good and then the excellence
(19:13):
of execution. Yeah yeah, yeah, So how do you still
feel the same way, Justin?
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Or what absolutely are you gonna wear your sauce jersey
or if you.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Wear a sauce jersey, Frostbury, you need to bring in the.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Ginger for j and I'll figure out from there. Okay. Now,
when we say that ginger is actual a stick of
ginger that one time Justin brought in for Jake, we're
just saying, you know, not gingers, but what you whoa
I really really want? I thought I spoke with enough specifies,
then bring in ginger for j or maybe ginger from
(19:47):
Gilligan's Island is coming in. Yeah, that's code for something Louis.
I saw that she's one never wants to talk about
Gilligan's Island ever, Like it's the biggest thing she ever
did in her career.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Now, I like, you, why would you take every pitcheck
someone wanted to give you off?
Speaker 1 (20:00):
But that's just me. Now here's the thing. So when
I talked to Justin about it, like we're talking at
California Venture and and you know he's there with his
family and Jackson's going on a ride, and you know
he's on a ride with Abby and so we're talking
about this and he's very matter of fact. Yeah, I'll
get Joe Douglas to do a segment. They go, yeah,
but dude, what have we talked about? He goes, yeah, no,
but he's a great guy. He'll come on, he'll talk
everything else. I'm like, okay, And for a second, for
(20:23):
a second, I thought, wow, here's justin, you know, showing
some Hey, I'm gonna step above here and I'm gonna
produce the crap out of this and everything's gonna be fine.
I'm like, okay, Greg like okay, hey, maybe that works out.
Not thirty seconds after that happens. Thirty seconds got Jackson
comes running off the ride. He was on all right,
and this is what I get. He goes running off
(20:43):
the ride and go hey, Jason, Hey, Jason, how about
your jets gives me the double thumbs down as he
runs around me in circles. That's a lot of training. Yeah,
he's a black belt in the arts of jets sucking. No,
that's that's impressive. For a second I thought, yeah, I thought,
I thought, okay, for here's Frostburg, gonna have some kind
of sloping out And then Jackson goes, right, Hey, Jason,
(21:06):
he's just doing the thumbs. I don't think the two
have to be in mutually exclusive I know, right, Like
I put yeah, I'm just gonna fly.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Handle comes flying alongside you and hit you, fly out
over the edge of a cliff and then told up
aside that says yepe and fallowed out like for a second,
I'm like, okay, this is really good, Okay, this is
this is a wow, very adult conversation.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Justin, I have this great and then Jackson got it.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Well, I mean, look, we got to bring balance to
the force. I mean, you were at Disney so and
they gotta have the positivity, super producer. Serious moment, Hey
the show Justin and I had some time off last week. Uh,
and we're back and starting to plan out what's ahead. Sure,
I mean it was a very serious moment, a moment.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
And then the code of all of this is that
you know that I saw Justin before the park was
closed at one o'clock in the morning. Oh bye, we
have a conversation. You have a seven year old at
one o'clock in the morning, so a special night, right
his daughter at school to ye, So a little bit
older doesn't matter. So so I see Abby who is
wheeling who wheels Jackson bye, and Jackson is like like
(22:17):
dead to the world, like he is just out. And
Abby sees me and goes and says, hey see it, Jets,
And I go, hey, I go hey see I go, hey,
you see it Jackson? And Jackson, who I know is asleep,
I know is asleep, and he goes and he just
like opens one eye, going as Abby's pushing it by.
He just goes, yeah, Jets, wait, he's getting wheeled by.
Isn't he like twelve? He was No, he's seven and
(22:40):
she's wheeling him by, and he just goes like opens what.
I goes eh, Jets like like, wow, okay, it's got
that one truck buy when it comes to when it
comes to me.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
And then he hates you almost as much as Oral
Hersheizer and jj Reddick do.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Thirty seconds after, Justice is like, we're gonna do this
and have and have Joe Douglas. Well, we'll get a picture,
put it on social media. Okay, I think that'll work. Right. Then,
at least you were impressed. I was father, and I
was glad it was double thumbs down and not double
middle fingers up. I'm I'm glad that was the case,
(23:17):
although maybe that's next year, maybe that's after that when
you turn your back turn it over. Look, I don't judge.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
It was really more the excellence of bringing that to
your attention in that moment that was.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Yeah, that was lifted you up and then he cuts
you down. Just that fans I was.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
I was rough.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
That was during the two seconds where he wasn't worried
about his La Kings.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah. He kept telling you to check
the score, Dad, check the scores. It's five, it's five
to one. What do you want me to check the
score for. It's five to one. Oh wow, it's five
to five.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Oh boy, Okay, that means he really does listen to
the show though, because I mean, that's you with met scores.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
I wrote. I rode the car's land ride next to
a guy who gets in. Pam and I sitting next
to each other. Zoey inter Femme were in front, and
it's three across. So this dude gets in and he's
wearing a Copodar jersey. Okay. So it's right after the
game was over and you know that the Kings won.
You know, they blow a four goal lead, but they
score in the final minute. To win the game. Knucklebuck. Yeah,
and I see and the guy sits next to me.
(24:16):
A lot of people there were in kem like and
I got him. So you came here tonight instead of
watching the game. He goes, yeah, I love coming. I said,
oh that's great. I go Now, you gotta come here
every night because of the good luck you are. He goes,
good luck. We blew a four goal lead goal in
a final minute. I'm never coming back here, Like, dude, wait,
why are you so hot? You won the game? Take
(24:38):
his gloves off? Four goal lead we blew.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
I'm like, oh, you got a free night at Disney
and your team won the game.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Oh yeah, yeah, shut up. Yeah, he was just nice.
He's not happy without what that's an entitled gun? Not
happy without one? No, no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
We got more coming up in ninety seconds. But first
I now hate him about that are wearing guy. There
from a man who's been called the chick Hicks of
Fox Sports Radio because he walks around the hallway going kachuga, katchuga, kachuga.
It's Steve Desager with what's trending? Wow?
Speaker 6 (25:11):
That really passed?
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Do you ever watch cars ever? Yes? Okay, Michael Katon
was was Chicks this did I did? I think I've
seen cars more than I've seen Caddy Shot, because that
was always favorite movie. He's really sick, said, Welcome with
a chick Era baby, although not watch it like there
are times when I'm watching I'm completely falling asleep during it,
not like when I'm watching Caddy Shock.
Speaker 6 (25:32):
Memory getting into your brain though.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Yeah, it's more educational than the Jets game. Hey, welcome
to the chick Era baby. Well, chick Kicks is green.
Chick Kicks is green.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
We have under three minutes to go downtown, LA. It
is not over yet. This playoff game.
Speaker 7 (25:45):
The Lakers ninety to eighty one over Minnesota, and this
is game two of their first round playoff series. Minnesota
took the opener. Lakers well under fifty percent shooting now,
but Minnesota only at thirty eight percent shooting from the four.
Luka doncicch with twenty nine points for LA. It's now
ninety two eighty one, about two and a half minutes
(26:05):
to go. Oklahoma City up two games to none, beat
Memphis again one eighteen to ninety nine. Shay Gilgis Alexander
twenty seven points on ten of twenty nine shooting from
the floor. Indiana's up two games to none and its
first rounder after beating Milwaukee, won twenty three to one fifteen.
Despite Janni Santanakupo's night, he had thirty four points eighteen rebounds.
(26:26):
Damian Lillard returned had fourteen points in defeat. He had
missed over a month after a blood clot. Boston's Jason
Tatum is doubtful for Wednesday with a bruce wrist. The
NBA six Man of the Year is Boston's Peyton Pritchard.
In the NHL Playoffs the late games in Vegas, it
is Minnesota for to one over the Golden Knights in
the second period, trying to even up that series at
(26:46):
a game apiece. Home wins for both Toronto and Carolina,
going up two to zero in their series. Florida opened
its best of seven with a win at Tampa Bay
six to two. Seattle named Ron Francis, president of hockey Operations.
The new there Jason Bodereau, who was assistant GM Whaler's
great Ron Francis. Oh, that goes back a while, Yeah,
goes back so nice. Of course, he's been with Seattle
(27:09):
seemingly from the beginning and now has this new role.
Lou Lamarello, who seemingly was with New Jersey what fifty
years ago?
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he started in nineteen thirty seven, and
then he went to the Islanders a few years ago.
Time to be confused with lou Anarumo.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
No talk about your old time hockey.
Speaker 7 (27:26):
At age eighty two, he is not going to be
returning to the Islanders where he was president and GM
after seven seasons there.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
He is done.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
To the Major League Baseball scoreboard. We do have a
few late games. Brewers got a grand slam from Christian Yelich,
leading eleven three at San Francisco, now bottom of the ninth.
Rangers lead is eight three at the A's in the eighth,
bottom of the ninth, Pirates lead nine to three at
the Angels. Home wins for Arizona and Houston for Kansas
City as well. The Royals in eleven innings defeated Colorado
(27:56):
four to three. The Rockies record four and eighteen Minnesota
or two over the White Sox. White Sox on the
road one to ten this year.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Yay, we got that one or not.
Speaker 7 (28:06):
The Cubs had a great game at Wrigley Field, tonight
beat the Dodgers eleven ten in ten innings, two run
homer in the eighth, solo homer in the ninth to tie.
By the way, for the Dodgers, Clayton Kershall at Double
A this evening three innings.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
Pitched, one run, allowed four strikeouts.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
I'm sorry, that just looks odd and wrong. Watching Clayton
Kershaw in a double A uniform pitching blue, it just
looks wrong. It's blue. It just looks wrong.
Speaker 6 (28:32):
It looks like a batting practice uniform.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
It looks like it looks like if you said to me, hey,
if this looks like if you said to me in
twenty fifteen, what would the World Baseball Classic potentially look
like and you showed me just that one pitch by
guy was like, oh, okay, like that, Oh no, that's
kershawn double A.
Speaker 7 (28:48):
Oh but it wouldn't be in that setting or that
minor league stadium, certainly, as we saw from the previous
It's just now final with the Giants, by the way,
Brewers do win eleven three over San Francisco. So the
Giants fifteen and nine, Dodgers sixteen and eight, Padres seventeen
and seven after a two to nothing win at Detroit.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
And who else has as good a record?
Speaker 6 (29:11):
You can't even get the Sims out Now.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
The Mets have won six in a row seventeen and
seven after beating Philadelphia five to one. There Cleveland, it's
won five in a row, edged the Yankees three to two.
Lakers update at home, final minutes leading Minnesota ninety four
eighty five.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Back to you, thank you, Steve. Oh yeah, I'm the
guy with the one track mine, right, Steve, Look or not?
This game looked like it could get really close about
a minute and a half ago. There was about two
minutes left to go. Luca Dodgers, who looks exhausted right now,
absolutely exhausted, has one of those Luca plays where I'm
going to dribble in the middle of the floor and
(29:52):
then turn and throw the ball out to the behind
the ark to someone, except it gets stolen by Anthony Edwards.
Now this is a non point game. Edward's dribbling in
the open floor. He could cut it to seven with
two minutes left to go. Lebron James absolutely picks his
pocket just inside of of probably just outside of the
(30:13):
arc middle of the floor, takes it all the way
down and goes in for a layup, fights off two
defenders to get that layup no foul, which is kind
of crazy, but goes in for the layup. It's an
eleven point lead for the Lakers. And that was it.
Like that was the game. You saw a lot of
back and forth. The t Wolves missed a shot, they
missed a shot clock violation, and they're dribbling out a game.
(30:37):
Right now, the Lakers are gonna win ninety four to
eighty five. They head back to Minnesota tied at one apiece,
but this game could have gotten really close with a
couple minutes left, and Lebron just absolutely picks Edward's pocket
and it was It was stunning because Edwards looked like
I'm I'm full boar ahead headed to the rim, and
(30:57):
it's gonna be a seven point game. And suddenly now
things are gonna get weird because now you're tired, and
our youth and our defense is going to take over.
And instead Lebron clinches the game, making eleven point lead
with about a minute and a half left, with about
minute forty five left to go, and that was it.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Curious decision making by the Wolves down the stretch, right,
you have the offensive foul.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
Reeves stands in and takes that.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
You've got guys on the wing instead, he's already set,
clearly set, and you crash into him and get the
offensive file called that possession. With Edwards, he had a
guy standing behind the three point arc. Instead, he's gonna
go at Lebron, who cleanly picks his pocket and starts
going the other way.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
I was like, you had a guy.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
I get it, you're Anthony Edwards, but yeah, you had
a guy. You still need to score, you know, nine points.
Taking Lebron off the dribble ain't getting you that. It's
not worth that much. Maybe in your street cred and
saying hey I did this to Lebron in the open court,
but in the end, you pitch your pocket, went the
other way and gets that layup. So and for Luca,
(32:04):
I mean, it looked like as we were closing out
the third quarter, all those guys were gonna get to
sit down, and then they had to play all those
extra weary minutes down the stretch where it's like its
final ninety four to eighty five, but certainly played a
lot closer in those final minutes.
Speaker 1 (32:22):

Speaking of being over, the Lakers find a way to
put away the Tea Wolves and look definitely a glass
half full first couple of games for both the Tea
(35:16):
Wolves and the Lakers right. If anything, I'm a little
more concerned about the Lakers, even though they won this
game tonight, because this is this is a game they
were up by twenty in the second quarter. This should
have been something that hey, we are our stars are
resting in the fourth, we are we are going back
to Minnesota. Except Minnesota chips away at it. They don't
(35:38):
give up a game that they could have easily just said, hey,
we're putting it away. We got the split we wanted,
we're gonna go back to Minnesota. But they still made
a game right. Edwards had twenty five, Julius Randall had
twenty seven, game high for the Tea Wolves, and the
Lakers stopped hitting shots and their offense got stagnant. So
if you're looking at where I am after the first
two games here, Okay, yes, the Lakers did come out
(36:00):
and make a statement the first half tonight. I'm concerned
about them going back to Minnesota and not knowing where
they're gonna be at because they couldn't put this game away,
and you just wonder. It's the same questions about the Lakers,
where it's about motivation and being ready and not being flat.
And they were incredibly on it for the first probably
eighteen minutes of the game tonight, and then all of
(36:22):
a sudden it was okay, we're good, it's over and no,
and the Tea Wolves started to claw back. The Lakers
have possessions defensively where they just stood around and let
give an easy hoop to the Tea Wolves and their
youth is able to help them come back their energy,
and you need a couple of big plays late by
Luca and Lebron. You need a Lebron steal of Anthony
Edwards who could have made it a seven point game
with about two and a half left to go. Like
(36:44):
you needed these plays to escape to get back to Minnesota.
So yeah, even though it's one to one, things look
great for the Lakers. I'm still much more concerned about
them than they in Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
Well, the narrative coming out of Game one was, Ah,
there's no way the te Wolves will shoot that well
again and it'll get back to normal, Lakers will trout
some et cetera. Well, they got what they wanted thirty
eight percent shooting for the night, only five of twenty
five from three point ranch check those boxes. But you
still had anxious moments down the stretch. Now it's still
(37:14):
a nine point win. You take from it what you will.
I would say you gotta be a little pissed if
you're JJ Reddick, that you had to exert.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
So much energy down the stretch that you.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Didn't get those extra minutes off for Lebron and Luca
because you just had that extra day off, right, So
you check all those boxes in terms of health and
keeping the in the spirit of video games, since we
were talking about Jack Black being there with Minecraft, right,
you want to keep your power button and power base
(37:49):
as much as you can and keep that bar full.
And you had to exert more and take more looks
and more hits. Right, because Lebron got hit and went
down to the court. How much of that was theater
versus real, I don't know, but he certainly got hit
pretty hard. Julius Randall got called for a flagrant foul
because he came through with a really unnatural follow through
(38:11):
motion that hit Lebron and floored him. Hachimura had to
leave the game after getting hit in the face, and
then Austin Reeve has to take a charge down the stretch.
Those are all body blows that you don't necessarily want
adding up at this point in the year. And so, yeah,
you had to scratch and Clawn, you got your w
But I think I hold a little bit of concern.
(38:33):
But you've still got the the better grouping in that
big three.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Yeah, because you have to include Austin have you gotta have,
but you're gonna have the energy and execution for three
more wins. But but I like the juice that that
the Tea Wolves played with.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
And that was the thing, right is you could have
been satisfied with just you had your w you're getting
blown out. Let's let's go into the good night. And
instead literally and figuratively, they fought back in every way
and then the fourth quarter put on that tremendous run
where you played good defense. Lakers missed some shots, came
up short on a couple of long distance shots where
(39:12):
maybe the legs were a little bit tired like you
alluded to for Luka Danchets. That put them back into
the game. So I did like that they weren't complacent
as we see so many teams all right, yeah we
got our game, we're done.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
So they at least forced the issues. So yeah, fight
is what we always ask about.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
Yeah, that charged by Lebron was more real than WrestleMania.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
He doesn't need help bringing up WrestleMania. Justin doesn't need
help bringing this up. But that's it's all we get
is WrestleMania. That's all I get. That's all I get.
When the microphone's not on, I get here, look at
the autographs. I got here in WrestleMania. Here, look look like,
look who I talked to. Look who bailed my brothers
out when we all got arrested on Friday night. Look
at John John Cena showed up because nobody saw them. Ah,
(39:57):
you got he got the keys and got us out.
That's what happened. That's all I get. So it's all WrestleMania.
And then Travis Scott got his junk right. It's true
as true. Now the other game tonight that we saw,
well it's probably good in his badness.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
The Pacers now lead the Bucks two games to none
after winning tonight big brew haha in the second quarter
of this game. But at the very least, I will
say this for the Bucks. Doc Rivers is not gonna
get criticized for blowing a three to one lead in
this series because he's down to That is fair, not fair.
Speaker 8 (40:31):
What are you gonna say about me? That's the only criticism.
I got him up three one. I don't get credit
for one in those three games. Not getting credit. Now,
what are you gonna say, No, suckers, ha ha ha,
I'm down twos that I'm not gonna blow three one
here you're playing checkers I'm playing chess.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
They won the third quarter though, and Verry got that
going for and actually made it a game. Yeah, because
early on this look at you and I were going
over some stuff for the show. I was like, yeah,
they're getting they're not playing defense again, they're not even bothering.
Damian Lillard was back, which was great to see. Good story, yes, great,
great story. So you know modern medicine and what he's
(41:07):
been going through. But for Doc Rivers, yeah, no answer.
It's the kryptonite of the Milwaukee Bucks, all the angst
when it comes to the Indiana Pezers, And.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Well, yeah, it's great story because Damian Lillard and Wemby
who are going through blood clot situations. This is a
medical condition. It's great that Lillard came back. It's an
awesome story. Clearly not quite himself yet, but you know,
maybe he gets there. But this is a Minnesota this
is a Milwaukee Bucks team that with the best player
in the NBA, has found a way to continue to
(41:38):
just erode slightly more year after year. And this is
going to be a first round exit. You're down to zip.
I know you want to think great things, but it's
gonna be a first round exit. Doc Rivers is gone.
There's there's I can't believe he made it, but they
actually started winning some games in January and February, so
he kept his job. But I'll tell you this, Doc
Rivers is going to be out and Michael Malone is
going to replay look at you. He will be a
(41:59):
guy that come in with a with a superstar, won
a title before, knows how to deal with with big superstars. Yes,
maybe his message got a little stale, but it doesn't matter.
You have a message for two three years when you're
kind of a hard ass coach at works. That's kind
of what the Bucks need. Michael Malone comes in coaches
Giannis next year and things get better.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
Fun and looking at the odds because some of them
are still from the original. Hey, Doc's gonna get fired
here season replacement, So you look at Stotts, you look
at some of these other other coaches. But what's also
curious is this was a nice fuel game for Halliburton
because he was voted the most overrated player in the
game by the anonymous poll of players. So I'm sure
(42:39):
the you know, like Jackson, didn't give you the double burden.
I'm sure Halliburton did a few times.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
Sure. Yeah. We got more on the NBA coming up next,
as well as a big bold prediction for a big
trade on the night of the NFL Draft.
