You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Greetings, Welcome in side hour three The Jason Smith Show
with my bes friend Mike Harmon live from the Fox
Sports Radio studios, where we have that big story on
show Heo Tani coming up in a couple minutes. Right now,
the Dodgers trying to hold on to first place. They
are tied with the Angels at five apiece. Meanwhile, the Padres,
(00:50):
who could move into a first place tie with the
Dodgers tonight, lead the Giants for to one in the
bottom of the seventh So a lot of a lot
of nervous that's going on there where the Dodgers could
fall out of the whole of the first place they
have had all season long tonight ahead of that big
(01:11):
series with the Padres this weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Well, that's the thing right, It's all a matter of
perspective and where you sit in terms of your time continuum.
Is it just the all right, we just need to
get to the playoffs. We're good enough, deep enough, smart enough,
strong enough, and gosh darn if people like us more
than them, so we'll be just fine, right. Play for
October has always been a talking point, well related to
(01:36):
the Dodgers going on a good decade. But then you
have a streak and and some issues in the lineup
compounded with you know, Yamamoto has been a workhorse. Last
night he had the worst outing of his year. Yeah, right,
and you're still working some of the other arms back
into place, trying to get some of the position players
(01:57):
back that are injured. Congratulations of Keith Aaron end Is.
There's an announcement. You know, they're expecting a child. Need
him and need some of some others. Because every time
I hear Conforto around La anymore, it's like a four
letter word. Well, you need key hear Nanis to pitch
the ninth inning at some point, I mean your offense
(02:18):
has to get back into into shape to where you
can have a laugh for to bring him in. But
before we get to that look, this this big story
that's come in where the state of Ohio is moving
to limit and potentially ban prop bets following this investigation.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
We've seen the last couple of weeks into multiple Cleveland
Guardians pitchers, including Emmanuel class A, who his career might
be over after this big prop bet controversy from a
few weeks ago where the first pitch of an inning
he threw about forty five feet into the ground. Where
one of those prop bets you can make where the
first pitch of the inning is going to be a ball.
(02:57):
That bet was flagged a few places and now class
A is being investigated and they took his locker away
in Cleveland a few days ago. Governor Mike Dwine said, hey,
he wants a blanket band.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Quote.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
The prop betting experiment in this country has failed badly.
And before you think, well, you can't put the genie
back in the bottle of the toothpaste back of the
two with prop bets, no you can. Gambling is not
going to be limited in this country again because too
many sports like there's too much money to be made.
There's too many arms that have gotten rich off of it.
(03:32):
And you can see that it works well for all
the different sports. When it comes to baseball, football, gambling,
it's worked. But you are going to have to deal
with stuff like this once in a while. But these
prop bets, these prop bets can easily get banned, especially
when it's so easy for one play. We're talking about
one pitch or one free throw or one anything. I'm
(03:53):
not ruining the extent of the game, but obviously it's
a gateway. Oh, the first pitch inning is the ball.
The first two pitches can be a ball, first three pitches. Yes,
you want to think that stuff is going to get
flagged because, hey, you see an inordinate amount of money
being bet on one individual thing, which is great because
that shows you could be regulated. But these prop bets,
I wouldn't be surprised, in the words of our Vegas
insider Todd Ferman, that hey, you know, offshore you can
(04:16):
get any kind of action you want. But in the
United States, you know, hear the casinos, the bets you
want to be able to make, or bet bets you
make online. I'm not going to be surprised as some
of these big time single prop bets like this get
banned throughout sports, and it's going to be a case
by case situation, but something like this where hey, the
first pitch of an inning is a ball, right, Okay,
you've seen that these things don't work. So I see
(04:38):
these these prop bets that going on, and there's going
to be some kind of agreement where okay, we are
not allowing bets like this. Now, you still bet on
the game, bet on a player's individual how they perform.
But these kind of prop bets, these ones can get
really out of whack and sideways fast.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
You these can get banned.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Yeah, I mean some of it comes to do you
just have more restrictive limits, and depending on your level
of play, he might not be able to get down
for much at all. I've seen Todd post Hey, I
was able to bet a dollar thirty two on this, right,
So it's not depending on who you are fluidity of action.
You're always going to have the shadow markets, those still
(05:15):
are there, which are always going to have their place
in the market, and we'll probably grow a little bit.
We've got, you know, other betting scandals, right, We've got
one in college. He had Michael Porter Junior doing a
wide ranging interview where he kind of talked about, well,
why wouldn't I potentially hook up a bunch of my buddies,
(05:35):
right if you depending on your circumstance, they can make
a couple of grand If I go under ten, we're
getting blown out and suddenly, you know, I feel like
I'm a little bit hurt and I don't play anymore.
I mean, there's a lot of ways you can do this,
and he was just giving probably the basest of the examples,
but it's a reality. So some of it I think
(05:56):
comes from the idea of just you've expanded the props
menu to a whole other level. Like we joke with
Todd and you know Bill Krackenberger who does the Countdown show.
It's like, hey, can you get action on this? Like
you look hard enough, you'll find it, or depending on
who you are, you might be able to get them
to give you a line, right, Like Todd used to
(06:16):
joke with you quite frequently of what odds do you
want Smith? You know that, But the level of absurdity
now single event things like first pitch here that that's
pretty easy to just say okay, either no or The
limits so restrictive. But I guess in the most positive
of slants to take on it the fact that these
(06:40):
guys are getting busted and those irregularities are monitored to
the level they are, especially when you've got the billions
and billions at stake. It comes with a lot of
regulation and oversight.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
So that happening again. Watch how this goes to again.
Emmanuel class A is going to lose his career because
of that. Like, just think about that. This guy was
once one of the lights ole closers in baseball and
and still is young enough have a great career, and
now he doesn't even have a locker with the team.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Did you see? He'd had one interesting and it's it's
a little insaid, deep deep knowledge game like as to
how it was set up. But this company came up
with the idea of hey, I can you can buy
into what my future earnings? He was the only guy
to sign up.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah, no, so people and have shares in what is
now knowing voyage.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Now it's like, wait a minute, how much what did
I make? Oh no, we're coming for you from a
U O US money now speaking of owing money? Yeah,
how to make sense of what's going on today with
show Heyo Tani?
Speaker 4 (07:39):
The Mets won a game today, Jays yeah, it's like
the Mets won the Big Day. Big Day ran out
of fireworks.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Uh yeah, Jets beat the Packers, for sure, we gotta
do the You agreed with Aaron Rodgers about it?
Speaker 4 (07:54):
I did?
Speaker 1 (07:54):
I agree with Aaron Rodgers. But yeah, he hit into
a triple play.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Ah, you know it's been though if that's day? But
what the Aaron Rodgers thing is like?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
This would normally warn fireworks. Yeah, but your team doesn't
have any fireworks. And on a podcast, if that we
get to look at the Taylor Swift again, if he
would we do it now? If hitting into a triple
play was only the worst part of Shoo time, I'm
pretty sure it was.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
A Hawaii real estate investor in broker are suing show
Heyo Tani, claiming he and his agent got them fired
from a two hundred and forty million dollar luxury housing
development in Hawaii. Wow, the giants started losing. Here's the now,
here's the thing, Frosper, trust me, everything is fine. So
this cuts out today and there's a lot of inside
(08:40):
baseball with the story how to fig what happened? Like,
how did they get these guys fired? Another being students
is big development?
Speaker 4 (08:45):
What happened.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
The best way I can explain this to you, and
I can do it you'll understand it is by explaining
one of the plots to one of the great documentaries
of all time, Startup dot Com. Okay, now, about twenty
some odd years ago when the Internet bubble would bursting,
great documentary called startup dot Com. So it's about a
website that got a lot of funding, and it followed
(09:07):
this guy who was started this website with a bunch
of other people. Now they needed more, so he brings
in a guy to be the CEO. Okay, so it's
following this one guy, I think his name was Tom,
who brings in this other guy Khalil, to be Tom
my friend. No no, no, no, not Tom on MySpace. No,
that would be another Internet bubble bursting. So they have
(09:28):
this website, right, I think it was govworks dot com
was what it was called, and to help you pay
parking tickets, all this different stuff. So it's following this
guy Tom and it's like, hey, everything's blowing up. We
have funding all this, but they needed something else, so
they bring in this guy to be the CEO. Now,
as the movie goes on, there's problems the website doesn't
do very well, and at the end, the new CEO
(09:50):
has to fire the guy who brought him in.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Now the fact that this also has to do with
government stuff, you know, it was doomed to fail. Yes,
of course, so this was the whole plot. So guy
brings in was somebody else they need to be the CEO.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
He's the CEO.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
And at the end things go poorly and the CEO
fires a guy that brought him in. Okay, there's a
big full circle thing. That's kind of what's going on
with Shoe Heo Tani. Right, These guys who started this
big luxury housing development brought show Hao Tani in a
couple of years ago to be the face of it
and to use his image and likeness, and he was
(10:25):
going to endorse it. And as time went on, show
Hao Tani's involvement got too big and they didn't like
the job that these guys were doing apparently look a cord,
and so they.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Were fired off the project. This is what they're this
is what this the these.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Two people around and demands and all sorts of u uh.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Now that Otani wanted to take part in all of this,
and when this story broke today.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
You know, I said, okay, if you want to make
a big.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Deal about the gambling stuff from last year with Epey
one hundred percent right, this thing got hushed up really fast.
You know Shoeotani's involvement, and usually stories like this don't
get hushed up that quick. This is a big gambling
situation that involved in them in the millions of dollars
and how to suddenly do we don't get a lot
of information on this and all of a sudden, show
(11:13):
Heo Tani is innocent. We don't hear anything else, nothing
from EPA, nothing else. All of a sudden, this goes away.
If you want to say that, yeah, do we really
get the whole truth on that? I'm with you, right,
I'm with you this this I feel like this is
just big business every day their stories like this, and
if it's not show Hao Tani, we wouldn't be talking
about it. But it's Otani's name. But this is stuff
(11:33):
that I feel like happens in business all the time.
Here's hundreds of millions of dollars at stake, Here's a
fight over who should be making the decisions, and at
the end, here's a lawsuit because there's all this money involved. Like,
I feel like this is just big business. Every single
I feel like Steve Cohen is involved in something like
this all the time.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Right.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
It's not saying it is, but I'm using it as
an example.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
One of the pieces of the lawsuit capitulating to this
guy's every whim. They wouldn't lose Otani's endorsement.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
So what I I take this.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
I'm gonna pull you back to oh, I don't know,
Rocky Balboa, let's do that. Okay, remember Paulie and he's
sitting there and going, hey, hey, rock I got a
guy we can uh, we can make something on merch
you know, and his shirts.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, go do that.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
That's kind of how I feel like, show how Tani
is with all the people that are in his businesses.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Hey, show, Hey, I think we got we can get
in on something.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
It'll be good. Yeah, okay, go do that. And then
every one of them has had bad judgments. He probably
needs a clean house and find someone that except for
Decoy yeah, oh yeah him, indeed, keep him Decoy and
his wife.
Speaker 4 (12:39):
I mean that's what you got, you know, But that
that's the thing about that.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
The one thing to say about a time like, again,
this is big business, right, this is how big business goes.
But if you're Otani, now here's the second story in
the last year where people you have allowed to get
close to you are in negative headlines for you. So
at some point, if you're a Tony, you're like, Okay,
I really need to keep a bigger eye or have
(13:03):
a better handle on who I trust and who I
You know, one thing you say about Lebron James, these
are friends of his that he said that that are
running has been this empire for the last twenty five years.
There are guys that he's trusted all the way going
back to high school, which I get them. At some point,
you know, professionally, guys are gonna take care of you.
But he trusts these guys, so I get it. And
you know, Lebron James is a pretty good business empire,
so I think it's worked out. But for show Heyo, Tani,
(13:25):
it's okay. Now this is the second time. Now somebody
else that I've trusted you first, First it was your interpreter,
now it's your agent. It's a really bad headline where
you're a time like, how involved is he with both
of these things we don't know, right, but I know
that here's the second bad headline involving him in the
last I was like, okay, we got to focus on
this a little bit more, right, I mean not that
(13:47):
you take away what's going on from on the baseball field,
but gotta focus on this a little bit more, because
how many of these stories can we have before people
go down, Wait a minute, Wait a minute. This is
like the fourth time Otani's involved in. Some people say no, no, no,
everything's right.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
This is the one.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
This is that look in the mirror moment where O
Tommy needs to go Okay, all right, I gotta I
gotta make sure that everything is buttoned down.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
Start your script, get the software up. Loosely based on
a world famous athlete who's secretly running a massive criminal empire.
Speaker 1 (14:20):

The Jason Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon Fire, Fire,
other Man.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
The theme to What's Happening in honor of Danielle Spencer,
who played d one of the most popular sitcoms in
the late seventies and eighties, passed away earlier.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
Today at the age of sixty.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
You know, sad now, she's the third fourth cast member
from that show to die. And she was so fun
as the and she was so acerbic and and had
all the great punchlines on What's Happening.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
And I loved that show.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
I watched, I watch, I know, I've seen every episode
of What's Happening and What's Happening Now, What's Happening Now?
It was so funny and I mean all the I
still remember all of my favorite episodes, the Doobie Brothers episode,
which one of those favorite episodes in all you know,
yeah when when when rerun was illegally taping the Doobie
Brothers concert, right, I mean, I remember when Dwayne the
(16:40):
big episode where he had this big football pick run
where he was he was getting all these football picks, right,
and bookies heard about it and wanted to find out
what his system was. And it was this crazy system
and the team that one always had the fanciest helmets
and stuff, and like I tried to follow what his
system was when we would take take.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Points away and all this, and like all these great episodes.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
I remember when Danielle Spencer taught Snake about the how
important the college education was in case he got hurt
playing basketball. It's like stopped on his knee and heard
him like, if that happens on the court, you don't
have a college degree to fall back on. I was
such a big fan of What's Happening, I was saying,
and I saw that today was just so sad. I
see d and what's happening trending. I'm like, oh, Danielle Spencer,
(17:24):
but you know, a long bout with cancer. She passed
away at the age of sixty earlier.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Today, became a vet.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Yeah, after leaving acting behind, I'll tell you what, my
pound for pound might have been the best child actor
of that era, delivering a punchline, snark and owning a
scene just with one or two lines and a look.
So yeah, many many hours spent watching What's Happening. My
(17:51):
brothers were laughing at me earlier just thinking about the
number of hours sitting in front of a television pretending
to do homework.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
Oh yeah, What's Happen the afternoon?
Speaker 1 (18:02):
When it was on, it was always on Saturday afternoons
and Sunday afternoons, and I tried to do that.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
It was during the week for me, which absolutely crushed.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
I tried to learn to rerun dance because rerun with
dance and do all the different things.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Oh man, that was such a fun show.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Big Girl and Little Earl.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
No Roger, no rerun, no Rent, No Roger, no rerun,
no Rent. Oh yeah, it was a huge I loved
What's Happening Rest in peace. Danielle Spencer a phenomenal actress
and really just you know, that's what she did for
a career.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
It was what's happening, what's happening now? And then she
went on.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Again, became a vet, did different things and and uh uh,
just you know, went onto a different path in life.
But boy, she was really really talented. She's one of
those kids if her if her career came around now,
be woa, she'd be in all kinds of movies and
TV shows and streaming shows and everything else, because she
really had that presence of being a kid. Because sometimes
just kids are good actors because they don't think about it,
(18:58):
and they're on screen. They delivered the lines. And okay,
and now every teen in a in a movie or
a TV show is great. Here's the sullen teen that
doesn't talk and is disaffected and hates adults. And that's
every single team. I'm like, okay, not every single teenager
is like that.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
Let's just stop. I can't stand that.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
But she was different, right, She was a cerbic and
the had the punchlines and was you know, had attitude.
She was Ah, she was so much fun to watch,
so much fun to watch. Uh, Danielle Spencer rest in peace, great,
great career, and again that show. I hope there's there's
a some kind of a spike in the show that
people start to understand and can see and see or
appreciate her career and what she does and what she
(19:39):
was able to do on the show, and really what
all of them are able to do, because they were
all really really good, right, Like Ernest Thomas and Fred
BarreR like twenty eight years old, right, they were best
friends with Dwayne and he was sixteen, Like hey what
Nelson was six used to, Hey, you're all best friends.
You're twenty seven, you're twenty six I'm sixteen. Oh okay,
it's like you're starting in Greece. It's like, it's stop,
what are you talking about here? What's happening? And what's happening?
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Now happening? Yeah, that's what's happening, dude. This is my
first day.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
You don't think that's my segue to talk about what's happening?
Speaker 4 (20:11):
And now what's happening now? That non story again again he.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
Really inspired, And now to what's happening now, which I
mean again You've known me for ten years.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
You know that's what I'm going to do. What's happening.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
What's happening is maybe we inspired show hey Otani after
the story we did on him in that big real
estate thing a few minutes ago.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
He is a home story. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
In the top of the ninth inning, his fourth straight
game with a homer to give the Dodgers a six
to five lead, a night where it looks like they're
gonna need to win this game to hold on to
first place by themselves in the NL West. But runner
on first nobody out bottom ninth inning is the Angels
bat but Otani another big night, big heroics. Uh so
(20:57):
far the hero He's got the Rodgers up six to
five in the night. What non story is gonna come
out tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (21:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
But if hits a home run, is that okay? If
you get a non oh if you in your words,
what's a non story with O TOADI every day? But
he hits a home run?
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Is that all right? What's happening? Okay? It's like an
avant Costello routine.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
He's gonna ask who is on third boy?
Speaker 4 (21:22):
That's awesome, That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
So again Steeve just saying we'll have more on this
coming up in a few minutes. With what's trending? He
is biting his nails right now. Is he has a
lot of money on the ninth inning in this game?
But to take you to a big story, a big
one hundred and fifty million download prediction in less than
twenty four hours, We're gonna get the next episode of the.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
In the Heights, The No No you keep trying to
bring linn Manuelma Old Height Everything.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Old Heights, Big Heights, No Height, No Vision, The New
Heights podcast. Yeah, with the Kelsey Brothers and Taylor Switt.
How about that will debut seven o'clock tomorrow night right full.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
She had had on for season three or is it
just one off for the season premiere?
Speaker 1 (22:10):
And with all of the talk the last couple of
days with her new album coming out the title We
Know U and potentially we might get a song on
the podcast, I'd be surprised we didn't get at least half.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
Of words and at least get a look see.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
On the albums.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Yeah, but it's not coming out till October.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Yeah, Like come on, like how she gets your money
for six months or for six weeks? Say so, people
are not gonna buy a Taylor Swift. All you're doing
with eight weeks to go is is putting more time
for stuff to leak.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
When people know that that's out, they're gonna find a
way to get it.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Oh, they're already active on all socials saying hey, if
you see anything, m swifties at work, see something, say something.
There's rewards to be added of stuff leaks before it's
supposed to. Okay, I'm just saying margos and stuff. If
you're putting this out there, well, there's people that don't care.
You got you got people that were Hey, was me
(23:06):
throwing billbo Baggins on the court of these w NBA games.
Oh all right, well okay, I mean you know people
are gonna do it. They're not going to prosecute those dopes.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
You as soon before they blame autonomy for those It's
not gonna They might, they may, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
Look I in the end, I think he's a non starter.
But the man clearly has some people around him that
may be in Assumptioncenati.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Just because it was a lawsuit doesn't mean somebody did
something wrong. No, absolutely, what did I say? I said,
this is big Bibson, what's happening? This is holid. I
really want to watch the Brothers episode again.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
But when Taylor swift right, well again, I feel like
all you're doing is giving people two months to try
to find a way to leak this album to everybody, right,
I mean it's a long time ago, man.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
I mean, if you sell a lot of units, that's
two months of interest you make on their money.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
If if but I mean if if you say we
get a song, are we gonna get a song?
Speaker 4 (24:03):
We should get a song? Now, I'm gonna say.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
That be a teaser trailer like a drug deal.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
The uh first taste is free for one's free.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
The other songs. You're paying for it, paying for the
rest of these songs nine a piece. No, it's not
ninety nine for the album.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
No, no, no.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
You're either subscribing to a service where you get it
as part of it, or you're buying the the.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Hardcast twelfth album for Taylors. Yeah, now does this count
all the ones she re recorded? And it's really like
the sixth album? No, I think this is like the
new albums.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
It's legit.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
It's the twelfth new album, like eighteenth album overall. I
have to go back and look, maybe she's doing this album.
It will come out and there's two months between now
when it's released, so she can do her own recovered
versions of the songs.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
For this album.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
See, now, you're just being disrespectful.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
I'm just come on, man, she's got a pre pre
order thing going on, not a pre order. She got
a pre pre order thing going on. For that. I
can say what I want to say. Got a pre
pre order, So I'm gonna say this right. The gold
standard for podcast downloads right over the course of the
past few years is the the Cat Williams Club Shay
Shay podcast from about a year ago. Now, at this
(25:12):
point a little more than that. Ninety million downloads?
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Monny did that get him?
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Because Shannon Shannon Sharp said, I think what five million?
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Yes, he was just a past on that one.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
All that Cat Williams Now it's going right there and
what she says she's retiring from OnlyFans, right, No, I'm retiring.
Hey join me the next Ventures of my life. Yeah,
twenty three million dollars. So that's the been the gold
standard of pot Like you hear some of these other
podcasts that have gone around with with with downloads more
than that, but really the one that the Documented Star podcast,
(25:47):
the Cat Williams Club Shay Shape podcast, ninety million downloads.
I feel pretty confident that, not only is it because
it was being debated today always just gonna you know,
the Taylor Swift podcast on New Heights with the Kelsey Brothers.
I not only feel confident it's gonna break that record,
it's gonna shatter that mark.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
I think before too long.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
We're gonna get up to one hundred and fifty million
downloads of that podcast. Because you're talking about Kat Williams,
right who Okay, Kat Williams is a comedian people, No,
obviously you had some stuff to say, and the podcast
became you know, it became a big thing, right, So
I understand that. But this is still Kat Williams, right,
and okay, and it's it's It's Shatton chart podcast, all right.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
I get it. This is the.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
Biggest music star on the planet, not just domestically but
globally already on a very popular podcast. This thing's gonna get.
This thing's gonna blow past. I mean, we're gonna follow
the downloads on this like you follow up movie when
it comes out. Oh, look at Oppenheimer making all this
money week too. It's man, now it's over two hundred
and fifty million.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
But all you ever do is dismiss the international numbers,
so you can do that here too.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
No, it's over well, you can't tell it's overall. It's
just you know, you doubt download is a doubt. Don't
break them down, say hey, that doesn't count. This is
gonna move past the ninety million mark, and it'll probably
settle in over the one hundred million marks sooner one
hundred and twenty, I would say it tops out around
one hundred and fifty million like that. That's how many,
(27:12):
that's how many downloads this podcast is going to get.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
It'll be insane. I mean, you obviously have the army
of Swifties. You've got entertainment reporters and all sorts of
folks that are going to be charged with just doing
a recap of it, so they'll go and they'll have
to download it. You get into the sports world, whatever
the true numbers are or what Travis and Jason are
already doing, and that crossover and I kind of like both.
(27:38):
I can't claim I've ever listened to the New Heights
podcast other than clips that show up in my social media.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Nobody has till now. No, you just get the clips, right,
you get the clips. Well, the Swifties all less, they
all listen the Swifties all ust That's.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
What I just said. Nobody's listening to that podcast till now.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
They got a lot of money for it, so somebody
either uh like that. I'm not saying it had to
be good that interstas someone someone must have clicked so.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
It takes is one big dummy with money. Yeah, but
Taylor Swift is going to be on. That's a big deal.
Taylor Swift is a big deal. Well, yeah, she just
said that, Okay, what's happening, not a big deal till
now I know what's happening.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
But now with Taylor Swift being on, I'm telling you
one hundred and fifty million dollars.
Speaker 4 (28:20):
And so you want to get into that conversation, Frostburg,
I'll tell you this.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
You keep they're paying you to say no, no, no,
I'm just saying the one hundred and fifty million dollars
is a pretty big deal.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
You just said it again.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
But my wife says to me when I said, oh, yeah,
Taylor Swift's gonna be on the Kelsey's podcast, the in
the Heights podcast, and uh, what are you the hype man?
She said, And she said, huh, I wonder if they're
having trouble with their downloads.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
And I said why. She goes, why is Taylor Swift doing? Well?
Speaker 1 (28:45):
They're dating, and she goes, no, I know this, but
she can announce this anywhere and do all this, Like,
I wonder I would want to look at their numbers
and see if they're I'm like, huh interesting. So that, yeah,
is kind of on board with your thinking that I wonder,
I wonder what they are if there really are, because
you want okay, here she is opening podcasts of the season, right,
(29:05):
first time coming up?
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Well, I made me think about that for a little
bit YouTube channel with over two point four million subscribers and,
according to a quick AI blurb, over five hundred thousand
views listens per podcasts. Whatever the case is, whatever's real,
whatever's imagined, it serves many purposes. Right, if they have
(29:31):
some numbers they need to meet to keep the incentivization
and advertisers and everybody happy and on board. Well, check
if this is a hey, we're in negotiations to up
our take for the forthcoming years based on some metrics
we meet. Check if this is her looking at it
(29:55):
going all right, crossover and having a little bit of
fun sitting there with t and talking about the world
that is, and Jason Kelsey being a bit of a
smart ass over in the corner. Then you know, for
an hour you can go and do that. Got a
lot of time on your hands. You just did a
huge tour, obviously you just completed an.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Album telling about that. I think we'll get to one
hundred and fifty million, and that's gonna be the new
markets and be, oh my goodness, you think about it,
you guy, You gosh, I'm telling him to saying it's
gonna get to that.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Did you buy your new height shirt? Yeah, well, car I.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Bought in the hes shirt and it was Anthony Ramos
on it. I thought it was gonna be Jason Kelsey.
I'm bummed about that. That happens uh time. How to
find out what's trending in the wide world of sports.
But guy who's been called the Taylor Swift of Fox
Sports Radio because he used to do his updates, didn't
like the fact he lost the rights to them, would
re record those updates, put them out and now he
(30:47):
owns those updates, Steve Seger.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
And by the way, if they do call it the
End the Heights podcast, do they have to sing it's
just one now?
Speaker 3 (30:55):
That would the musical edition of it, right, like all
shows would have one episode.
Speaker 5 (31:01):
The Padres have won five to one at San Francisco.
They are on the doorstep of tying the Dodgers for
first place in the NLS. The Dodgers were leading after

a little bit more care in it where, it's, like
oh this actually looks like a horseshoe and it looks
strong and it's, you know kind of a lighter.
