Would do you ever ever have to be around a
bunch of non sports Never? Never, You've never had to
be around not sports.

Well, it happens in the super Bowl, it was usually
that's when everybody comes out of the woodworks and like, no,
you're just.

Come from a hardcore sports family. Yeah, but sometimes you're
invited to a party or something, and well, if I'm
invited to a party and they're and they're not sports
people non times of at ten they don't have the
game one right, But yeah, but most people houses I
go over to or visit or whatever, the game gotta
be on or listen. I'm that guy before the DVR

because I'm the DVR sports game. You guys know that
no one DVR is more sports than me. In the
radio business, not just Fox Sports Radio. There's nobody DVRs
more than I do. Exactly that would. I can live
my life because living on the West Coast is hard
man football on Sundays ten am. I'm used to growing
up on the East Coast where it's one pm. NBA
game start at four pm. Like I'm a Pistons fan

fifteen and three first in the East. No one's talking
about that, but we'll get to that on another show
another day. But the Pistons start at four pm. Dude,
I'm at work like I'm at work in LA.

I can't watch basketball at yeah, but watch it at
ten thirty at night.

Yes, yes I do. That's exactly when I want to
watch it. Because I'm smart enough now and I'm strategic enough.
I stay off social media, okay, which helps the mental
health and social media for a week. Watch how your
life changes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. That's listening
right now. Cut people go allR I can do it.
Out it okay. Let me see no social media for
a week. Watch how many other things you get done
in your day, which scrolling on your phone. I did

a social media fast for seven days, dude, I got
so much accomplished, like two months ago in one week.
But I am the DVR king. I love my sports,
so anything I'm evolved around has to do with sports,
all right.

Going to people that, I mean, sometimes you just meet
people that just stret into sports, you know what?

Either just like, no, I don't know that real. Well,
I may meet you, but I'm not gonna hang with you.
What we gonna comment. I don't want to play Dungeons
and Dragons. I don't want to watch. I don't want
to watch I don't want to watch What's what's the
what's the stranger things? And and and and uh, what
was the weird show with the dragon and the old
people with the swords back in the day. What is

one of the shows that going? Yeah, I don't watch
none of that stuff. Man, I don't watch you know,
Power or anything fifty got on TV? All these TV shows, bro,
I'm just it's not my thing, man. Sports and stuff
that makes me laugh. Being I'm a twenty five year
stand up comedian. Sports and things that make me laugh.
I e. Comedy, if it's drama, it's you know, drug selling,

or if it's you know, you know, any type of
weird stuff, people running through the woods. Squid games, Dude,
I don't want I love squid games. I know I
love squid games. Come on, I know, I listen. I
know these shows are uber popular. I know millions of
people watch them. I don't really watch nothing, but sports
are something that's gonna make me laugh quick, cybar. Did

you see Kevin Hart's new Netflix specially that just released.
You know, I'm not so yet.

It's good.

It's called Act my age. He literally is talking about
he's a over forty five, and it's all stuff that
I can relate to because I'm over forty five. Like
it's funny stuff because he's telling the truth about some
of this stuff. Man, I like things like that. If
I'm not gonna watch sports, give me something that feeds
my mind, or give me something that's gonna make me laugh.
You know, laughter helps lower high blood pressure and cholesterol instress.

So like, No, I've been I've been around people that
are not in the sports and they've asked questions like that,
you know, whether it was a super Bowl party or
you know, they're just they knew the host or something
to that effect. It's always it's always funny when they
give the score and they always give it backwards. What's
the scores it's ten to twenty one or something like, you.

They I know exactly what you're talking No, no, twenty

Yeah, you know what's so funny is my son does
not watch football on Sundays. He watches hockey and watch
out college hockey.

my older daughters in their twenties, and then I have
kids for a long time, and now I got a

five and a four year old. So I got pulled
back out there for kids to watch. You know how
many channels I block on my kids tablets on YouTube
Bugs Bunny is for older people like adults. Yeah, there
was some symbolic stuff going on back in them days too.
We didn't know his kids, but right he looked back like, hey,
hold up, man, he really got him handcuff with a

ball in his mouth with his hands behind his back.
Hold on, what why you got the chicken? Why you
got the chicken tied up? Like that is? What's going on?
Turn turn that off my TV? TV? Oh man?

Oh yeah, so yeah, there's I mean, but I thought
you certainly would enjoy that. But we certainly appreciate people
tooting on it on this Thanksgiving Day. So much going on,
and I know you wanted to get to college also,
and I want to do that. I wanted to start
with Lane giff Where is he going to end up
in a lot of people are say A lot of
people are saying that this is hurting his reputation the

way this whole thing is going down now.

Backing Laye Kiffin saying this is all about the calendar

Egg Bowl tomorrow and you know, all this should have
an effect on what he wants to do. But this
is the process. They're offering him a boatload of money.

Do you stay at Old Miss, do you go to LSU?
Do you go to Florida? And does this does this
make him really look better?

I'm gone and I think he's gone, that's my He's gone.
He's gone. He's not going back there. Why would you?
There are four jobs that are better than that job,

and you did what you were supposed to do. Tour
in college tour in the NFL. If i'm Lane, I'm
going back to the league. That's unfinished business. It was,
it was, it was terrible. What do you chase? What
are you chasing? Now? You think the class is always green? Nah,
that's what these head coaches do. You always want to
coach at the high Look what Bill Belichick did. He

dominated the NFL. There's nowhere to go, So you don't
want to be a big fish in the small park.
I'll go down. I'll go down to Chapel Hill and
see what I can do down here. Like Bill couldn't
take enough the NFL job, there was nothing left to prove.
Lane has nothing left to prove to college national championship
doesn't mean what it used to Ryan Day won it
last year, But what did what he Hayes famously say

back in the nineteen sixties and seventies. You can't claim
a national championship if you don't do what if you
don't beat Michigan. They didn't beat Michigan last year. No
one even talks about Ohio State being a defending national chair.
It don't mean what it used to mean anymore. Man,

Before showing that you can elevate and coach yourself. And

I got two teams and that's why I want Shaye
to jump on this. He disagrees. If I'm Cleveland number
one on fire Stefanski, he's done. And Shadoor's a young
quarterback and you got Dylan Gabriel cool, So you got
two young guys there. If you liked him, I'm not
so sure I would do that. But Lane Kiffin has
an ego, like I just said, like all these coaches do.
I guarantee if he puts tape on both of these kids,

he sees stuff where he sits back in the dark
room and go, I could change that. What about the Giants?
Jackson ha great minds digga light, Shaye? What was the
other team that I gave you? I told Shay the Giants?
But I said this de Haartman a month ago, I said,
I fire Brian Dable. Wish they did, And I call
Mississippi and say, what does it cost? We have your

quarterback here and we got a guy like Mani Elik
Neighbors that you win and gets in the sec to
go to you know everything about this? Wait, you probably
try to recruit them.

Let me let me just back up for a second here. Okay,
let's just back up for one second. We're back to Mississippi.
What do you have against the Mississippi job? Because he's
doing why not be a big why not be a
big fish in the small.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
He's done what he's done there.

Man, you could win a national championship in Mississippi was there,
They could be in the playoffs.

They they may not, but they have a good chance.

They're probably gonna be like the third or fourth seed
whatever they are. If you get into the playoffs, you
could win it. Why leave so quickly if you enjoy it.

He's not gonna win a national championship at Ole, miss Michigan,
Ohio State, Oregon SC. Now again, there's other programs, man,
that are gonna recruit better than him. They're gonna get
better player.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
So we all college the money though, it's all about

But in college, those bigger schools have bigger money, and
at the end of the day, you still have kids
who will say, Okay, maybe I won't take the two
point one million, I'll take the one point eight because
I really want to play for Michigan. Even though old
missus saying two point one. It's three hundred thousand dollars difference. Man,
The kid's heart's gonna really lead him to where he
wants to play. So that money thing is plausible, but

it's not something that's gonna sway every kid to go
to this school. If you gave all the money to
this school, every kid's gonna go to school. Some kids
still grow up with a certain flag or emblem on
their wall in their bedroom, aren't he? And they want
to go there, and now you can get money to
go there, they'll make it happen. But the other two
jobs that are out there are Florida and LSU. And
I'm like, no, why you're not gonna overdo anything Urban Meyer,

Steve Spurriy or didd Florida. So you're always gonna be
ranked third or lower before below them. But you can
win a championship at LSU, You're never gonna but you're
never gonna be seen better than Nick Sabing or Less Miles.
You're never gonna be seen better than those guys. Right,
but if you go to the NFL. But why would you.

Even go to LSU the way they treated Kelly about
the whole and I know they're gonna give him the
money now, but after what I saw the last couple
of days, I wouldn't go there.

I don't understand why anybody is surprised that. Look how

Always forget that guy. Look how they treated him. He
won a national championship, look at him. So so to me,
it was really shocking when people were like, oh my god,
look what they're doing to Brian Kelly. Hello, did you
guys not pay attention to the way they treated the
coach before? Remember when people show you who they are,

what do you do, Arnie? Believe them.

It's your choice to fire somebody. It's it's not a
choice to try to rip somebody off their money.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
When you know you have to go ahead and pay them. Yeah,
but I thought fire or Jaron was worse than what
they're trying to do.

But they gave him his money though at least they
no I thought what they legally what they're doing that
Brian Kelly is wrong because now they got to pay
his fifty four million. I think they're gonna get what
six million or eight million a year right for the
next like.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
These big universities don't know the word legal. Are you
kidding me? They know loopholes. That's the L word. They
know loopholes. Look, I cover this stuff nowadays. Man, I'm
and I'm a veteran at this stuff. I talk to people.
You know me already. I'm a very talkative person. I'm
very personable. And I don't go to games and just
sit in the press box and make my little notes
that man. I mingle, I network, I move around. I
find people who want to talk because I got questions

and I want information. And I don't go blabbing my
mouth on air, go telling people, well, this guy told
me this and this, And I rarely try to use
the word my sources.

If somebody tell you something, just put it out there.
If not, just keep it to yourself. And if someone
brings it up, you can say, hey, well you know
this is what a little birdie told me. But to
come out and push that narrative like oh I know this,

know nothing about legal. They know about loopholes. But back
to Lane Kiff in another L word, Listen, man, it
didn't work in Oakland or I think, or in Vegas
or whatever it was with the Raiders. It didn't work. Fine,

that doesn't mean you don't go back and try. Everybody
wants to do it again. Man, I'm pretty sure in
our business, there's so many people that got on air.

You just said championships. Really it's not what they used
to be. So is it the money?

What difference does it make if you have a good
financial advisor? So what are you looking for.

The opportunity to compete with the best in your business? Like,
for instance, let's just flip it really fast, which is

But at one point you did local right, yes, and
then at one point you did regional right yeah? Okay?
Why'd you keep going? What do you mean why'd you
keep going? Why did you just stay local? Why did

you just stay regional? Why do you want to get
the national?

It's it's what it wasn't Josh was actually my first job,

what I wanted to do. It's more what I liked
more of VJ. If I enjoy they always enjoyed National
more than welcome. I worked in many local jobs, but
they've always enjoyed. Right. But when we do national, we're
competing with the best. Right then the world is hearing
us at Fox Sports Radio. We're not just nationally, we're global.

and I could yes, and if a national company call me,
a network, call me and say VJ, I got a
five day a week show for you right now? Man
pays this, no d Yeah, I gotta go home and
talk about this and pray about it because I want
to get more days. But Man, if it doesn't fit
just to get more days to leave national to go local,

let me think about that for hey, let me give
you a call back. Can I get a week? I
got seven days on it? Okay, I gotta go think
about that. But national is where we are. The NFL's
the top, trust me, Lane Kiffing guys, he wants to
go back to the NFL.

Nick Nick Saban never went back to the NFL after
the Miami He had.

His two shots. Though, he had two shots because he
was a coordinator for the Cleveland Browns on the Bill
Belichick and with the Giants with Bill Parcels. So then
he got his shot, and it's like, Okay, this ain't
my thing. Let me go back to college, stay there
long enough. Now, let me go retire and sit on
TV and talk Game Day and make a whole bunch
of millions doing that now and doing a flat commercials
with coach pro. Let me go, let me, let me
go do that now. But he took his two shots.

You always want to take that second shot and go
back man Cleveland and the Giants. But I said the
Giants over a month ago on Hartman and Husky on
Sundays here from from ten to two on our end
Zone show, would you take Tennessee if you're Laye Kiffer
and go be with Campbell. There's another there's another there's
another job. Hell, they finally really vote that does not exist.
Such a great job. I don't know, no, No, I've just
said there's another job, right here's the thing. I'm gonna

take the word great job away from it. I am,
because it's just let me get back to the NFL. Okay,
let me get back to the end. Hell, if you're
good at what you doing, you got a good ownership
and you got a good front office, a good VP
vice president Football Operations, in a good GM. The job
doesn't have to be great or a good job. Let
me ask you this. Did the Patriot job look like
a great job two years ago? No?

No, But the Jets job doesn't look good and it
hasn't been good. Cleveland's job doesn't look good and it
hasn't been good.

You know, I think these guys have egos to where
they think they can fix anything. Like there's I just
mentioned that about looking at a quarterback. Right. They're a coach.
I coach high school football. There are times I look
at kids and go, I can fix that, and here
I am just coaching high school. Man. It's in. It's
in a coach to think that you can go coach
the next level and the next level. Last year we
had a guy that used to coach our linebackers. He left,

Where'd he go? Steven F. Austin university and I should
like her, right, And you know why he did it
because it's the next step. And he used to say, man,
I want to go coach college now like I've done
a lot of high school and I did you call.
I'm trying to get the d one man, Like it's
in us to want to go compete with the best.
And I believe that's Lane Kiffin. He wants to go
compete to be with the best. There's gonna be jobs available,

and trust me on this. So which one does he take? Then?
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Which one would you take? If so, you think he
should go to the NFL.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
If I'm laying, I'm I want the Giants, I would
stay right where I am at ol Miss. I want
the Giants job. If I'm laying, I got there's my
quarterbacks there, my kids there, My guy's there. He's already
already have my quarterback. And you need what connection in
the NFL more than anything head coaching quarterback And it's
all right there, I got a number one receiver. I'm
not on scatter bowl schttaboo. I forgot how he says

that I was always out on him. I think he's
I think he's he's a glorified. Peyton hillis in my opinion,
Oh wow, Yes he's not Mike Alstart. He not John Rigo,
he not he not Larry Zanka. He ain't one of

I don't blame them, well, you know they would be
are coaches leading, who's made us relevant? Your girlfriend is

I'm high. I'm in my feelings. I'm in my feelings. Like,
hold on, what's wrong with me? What is it about him?

I would love to see Lane Kiffin take the New

we get to Michigan, Ohio State, I want to say this. Packers.
They were a two and a half point underdog Day one,
Cowboys three and a half point underdog. They one Bengals
seven point underdog. They won for the first time since
two thousand and three and just the third time since

nineteen ninety underdogs go undefeated outright on Thanksgiving. That's a
long time. I guess that's when we start having three games.
What about when we only had like one or two games,
you would think that what happened?

You know what I mean? Yeah, Hey, real fast man,
when you're talking about Lane Kiff and we got a tea,
I want to read. Yeah, go ahead, and this is
from Senior Time at Age New Scenes. I want to

Before the start of the college football season, Ohio State
was a six and a half point favorite over your
Michigan Wolverines.

That we're coming up before the game up to nine
and a half. So not much difference from the beginning
of the year. Nobody giving your Michigan team and a
chance whatsoever. The way they're talking, and I'm being serious
about this, VJ, they're acting like the spread is like
seventeen to twenty and that you're like Rutgers and Ohio
State is just going to run all.

Over Michigan does.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
That's just the feel I get from the people that
are not Michigan fans, Ohio State fans, just from college
football fans.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
Everybody going with Ohio State in this game, VJ. They
thought that last year too, right in the horseshoe, right right, okay,
all right? And ten points yeah, ten points out of
that same offense, the same offense, same same same guys,
same running backs, same and saying, okay, listen, Ohio State
has had a great year. They had a great phenomenal
you know, eleven and er nice, that's not about it

a year. All it all comes, it all comes. They
go to the playoffs no matter what, right, no matter what,
They're going to the playoffs. Do you think that's a
problem now, No, No, because the playoffs with it. I
think twelve. Now here's my thing about the playoff. I
think twelve too many teams. There's not twelve teams that
can win the national championship. We're fooling ourselves. I get it.
Some money grab and I'm all for money, man, I am.

I'm all for money. I want more. I want a
whole bunch of money. So I get I get companies
and and and and deals and and sponsors and dude,
I get that. I never complained about that stuff. That's
the silliest thing to complain about in sports is the
money that we we don't win. We're the ones that's
fed in the pockets. Networks don't make money. Where do
they make money from sponsors? The commercials. They pay two
hundred fifty thousand and three million, five million to ten million

to run this commercial this many times this time slot.
That's how networks make money, and that's how they pay talent.
That's where the budget stuff comes from. Like, it's all
about money. So I get why it's twelve. We can
really cut this thing down to six and it would
work out just fine. Eight if you want to have
a little fun. Twelve you're telling me there's twelve teams
that can really win the nationals. What year in the

history of college football is twelve? Damn teams by December
had the ability to win a national change, right.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
But it's not about twelve teams having the ability to
win it. It's about what kind of upsets can we
get in the first round. That's what makes NCAA Basketball
so important. We don't care if sixty five teams really
are sixty eight teams can win it. It's about those
fifteen seeds pulling off the upset, the fourteen seeds winning
those first rounds.

How many times as the favorite to win it all
ever lost in the first round of the NCAA basketball.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Tournament, No not, But that's why we don't have a
one seed losing to a sixty one time.

But we have the film because you can't. You can't

And when you put the film on, man, the film
is always always gonna tell the truth. So those teams
that were lower seeds, we knew those teams were better,
but because of the way they structure it now they've

changed it this year. Know this, they changed it right,
and they keep it the same as far as who's
gonna get seated where and this, And I say you
take your first of all, they need to just make
four power power conferences four the champion automatic birth first
round by then the loser of the conference championship game.
Because you got to the conference championship game. There's your
there's your other four, there's your eight teams, and all

this stuff about last year. SMU, stop it, Boise State,
stop it. Like I'm being honest, stop it. I want,
I want, give me brands. Give me big I'm serious, man,
give me by this time in college football. Stop playing
around with me with a with an SMU or a
Boise State. Give me Bama, give me Oklahoma, give me
the brands.

You talk about giving me brands. Let me ask you
this sure as this is big rivalry weekend. This is
what we love about college football. You're in Los Angeles, Yes, sorry,
I'm on the East coast, I mean Connecticut.

For people that are in Michigan and Ohio State fans,
is this game still big? Are people in Los Angeles
saying I don't think I'm going out this afternoon in
the sunny beach day because I gotta watch Michigan Ohio State.

Our people in New York and I'll tell you that.

No, the answer is no, they're not saying gotta watch
Michigan Ohio State.

I think those days are kind of over.

Because we watched so many games nowadays, and you know,
back in the day, Michigan Ohio State always meant so much.
It still means a lot, But I think that those
days are kind of over.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
You don't, You don't agree. No, it's still the greatest
rivalry in all the sports. It's still the greatest ribby
lot of sports. And first of all, the game's been
on Fox for the last I want to say, five
or six years, better than like Yankees Boston. Yeah, base
baseball has lost its rivalry, sting to me right because
you play, you play him, you playing ten times.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Basketball has the Lakers nothing nothing, well, nothing nothing like that.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Kobe. Since Kobe, it means nothing. Honestly, since Kobe, it
means nothing. Is magic. You know, Kobe had to play
twice in the finals, lost once to six, and then
beat him in a game seven at home. No, No,
that was still that was still real. Like he knows
he needed to beat the magic. Says it himself. He's
got five, right, he goes, But nothing was sweeter and
beating the souls. Kobe said the same thing. That's his

favorite ring, right, said first it was the first one
without shock. But he said when he got that, when
he got that one in the game seven at home,
and he chased the ball down with the clock going
down to zero and grabs it right before the baseline
and puts the fist up in the air. Said it's
one of his greatest moments of his life. Like and
this because of the opposite Jersey didn't say that about
the magic about beating the white Howard and Jamier and Nelson.

And you think Michigan Ohio State is still on that
man stead than Auburn Alabama.
Speaker 4 (31:48):
Yeah, dude, this is gonna get twenty five million viewers.
He's gonna get twenty five million viewers on Saturday morning.
And that's nine am here. That game kicks off at
nine am here. It's still gonna get twenty five million viewers,
way more than the seven thirty pm Saturday night kickoff
start four to thirty Eastern time of the Iron Bowl.
Because I'll be covering USC UCLA. That kicks off at

four thirty here, so it kicks off the same time
as the Alabama aubring right right.

You gotta get split because I think I think Alabama
Auburn's lost luster. Maybe it's because Auburn's a luster, because
Auburn not nearly the team that they used to.

Then Army Navy. Man, Oh, we're going back to that.
What my dad would? It gets you, dude, It gets
a Saturday by itself, right right, It gets a Saturday
by itself, not unless you're into Division two and Division
three college and watching Mount Union play against Chippewa University.

Yeah, but we would never say Army Navy twenty years ago.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
That was never the still Army Army Navy. Dude is
the commander and the president shows up every games. They
get a Saturday to themselves. And like the last three
or four years, that thing comes down to and you
and you know what's so great about Army Navy. We
know most of those guys aren't going on to the
next night. Of course, right, we know most of those
guys are gonna go serve the world, serve the country.
Some guys, honestly, man, they're not gonna make it like

they're as far as like going across seas. They're not
gonna They're not gonna make it home. Everybody in those
games isn't an engineer or an next ray attacker. Some
of those guys are gonna be have a weapon in
their hand and be sent overseas to go defend our freedoms,
to defend the world, and whatever else they got going on,
they might not make it home. I'm from a military family.
You know that I served the United States Army fresh
out of high school fourteen Romeo Air Defense Artillery and

Fort Bliss, Oklahoma. So I'm very near and dear to
my heart about the Army Navy game. But a lot
of those guys are not going to the next level.
That's their last game. If they're not going to a
bowl game.

Why Okay? And now back to Ohiose Day Michigan Shorga.

Why so many people.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
All over Ohio state on this not giving Michigan a
chance because you'll see that according to Vegas, more bets
by far coming into Ohio State.

Over Michigan because they're eleven and zero and you're getting
a lot of points though with Michigan. But yeah, oh
absolutely was. They're gonna cover. Michigan's covering. That's why the
spread is.

Especially the totals forty three at the Alps. So you
were just supposed to take the points.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
But could take the points from Michigan, I would probably not.
I think twenty eighteen, I don't think it's I don't
think one team scored the first one to twenty wins. Seriously,
first one of twenty wins. Michigan's not built to come back.
I know that. But Michigan is gonna be able to
run the football. And if they could run the football,
they're gonna just run through them like they have the
last four years. Hardball finally figured it out. Throw just

stop trying to sling it around like he did the
one game with Wilton Spate. Remember the game where J. T.
Barrett ran for the first down on fourth down. A
lot of people thought okay, and that game people forget.
Will and Space threw a pick six inside his own
ten and then he fumbled on a QB dive from
the one they had that game. Man, but he finally

figured out, let me just line up my big hog,
Molly's up front. Hand it to these four and five
star beasts behind twenty and thirty five times. Twenty times,
Haskins had thirty plus carries with four touchdown five touchdowns
like Blake Korn, like this is what we are. Donovan
Edwards breaking off a sixty seven yard then an eighty
two yard on the next drive. Get in the trenches

with Ohio State and punch them in the mount. One
thing about Ohio State they turned into they've turned to
a pretty team. You remember, Ohio State used to be
a punch of you in the mouth team. Also, Ohio
State's turned into wide receiver you. I was about to
say wide receiver you for the last one five years?
What was that? Tell you they throw the ball around?
What they finessed too much? Now? Yeah, I think they're
a little too pretty in Michigan. Tell me the last

receiver that's been successful in the NFL from Michigan, the
last wide receiver. Yeah, the last wide receiver to go
Braylan Edwards. I think right about what, yeah, twenty years
and he got drafted by who Cleveland? How did that
worked out? The Browns have been messing stuff up. But
I do think it's gonna be a cloe. It's gonna

be Claube. Michigan's not gonna go blow him out. This
is gonna be a dogfight, a punch in the mouth.
Game is supposed to be some inclement weather, a little
breezy cold. They have a true freshman and Bryce Underwood.
He's going to probably make a mistake. He's young. I
get it. But when he's asked to make a play
and use his legs and hit one of his at
Marsh the other receiver in Michigan has this kid. Those

are both two true freshmen, youngest team in the Big Ten. Man,
But they're gonna go win this football game because Chimore
is going to Sharon, excuse me, Sharon. Coach Roll is
going to out coach Ryan Day. Ryan Day, and man
Harball said it. You know, everybody can't be born on
third base. Everybody can't be born on third base, man,
that's for sure. Just tell me we got a great

coaching job he's ever done.

head coach. Like, yeah, but his son is the greatest
you know we've ever seen, whereas you have Michael Jordan,

I love the fact that Carmelo's kids chose Syracuse and

all that, but right, but his kid's not gonna be Carmelo.
Carmelo is a top ten scorer, all Well is a
pretty good player. You won a national championship for Bejam
as a true freshman, beating Roy Williams in Kansas International
Championship Games. Brycey, You're never gonna live up to Lebron,
you know, but none of those Bryce, I don't care.

And I think Bryce is Brandon Bonny. I've seen him
both play with my own eyes in person. But he's
not gonna be Lebron. Of course, it's never right. So
it's either the kid is really good and the dad
was cool, or the dad was cool, the dad was
really good and the kid is just like I'm not.
And I think that's what we're gonna see. Now. Will
he get to the NFL? Yes, Will he get every opportunity? Absolutely?
He drafted, absolutely, but he was supposed to come out

this year. He's got to go back to school.

Yes, all right, but what about Underwood though he didn't
live up to expectations after he got big.
Speaker 4 (40:04):
Money to go to Michigan. I do First of all,
he's eighteen years old. It's his true freshman year. Yes,
and sad and listen, I'll take him at nine and two.
Did you think he's gonna be nine to two going
into the Michigan game, not into eight and three. I mean,
I didn't think they were a lot better than eight
and three, I know, but.
Speaker 3 (40:20):
I didn't think did fall flat on their face or
anything like that.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
No, well, a lot of people did. A lot of
people at Michigan with five or six wins. I saw
that all I saw people tell five or six win
they have a freshman, they have a young team, all
these transporporter guys coming up, you know exactly, it has
a lot to do it. He doesn't look like what
they used to seeing on the side, And I get
that didn't have a good start, But listen, he's got
(40:43):
three years because he plays a true freshman, so he
can't leave no earlier than that. He's still got two
more years. So by that fourth year going into the NFL,
h Manny would probably already be under after his rookie year.
For the long haul, the way the NFL lives and
the way offenses will kind of run nowadays, I'll take
a guy that can move.

Come from a hardcore sports family. Yeah, but sometimes you're
invited to a party or something, and well, if I'm
invited to a party and they're and they're not sports
people non times of at ten they don't have the
game one right, But yeah, but most people houses I
go over to or visit or whatever, the game gotta
be on or listen. I'm that guy before the DVR

because I'm the DVR sports game. You guys know that
no one DVR is more sports than me. In the
radio business, not just Fox Sports Radio. There's nobody DVRs
more than I do. Exactly that would. I can live
my life because living on the West Coast is hard
man football on Sundays ten am. I'm used to growing
up on the East Coast where it's one pm. NBA
game start at four pm. Like I'm a Pistons fan

fifteen and three first in the East. No one's talking
about that, but we'll get to that on another show
another day. But the Pistons start at four pm. Dude,
I'm at work like I'm at work in LA.

I can't watch basketball at yeah, but watch it at
ten thirty at night.

Yes, yes I do. That's exactly when I want to
watch it. Because I'm smart enough now and I'm strategic enough.
I stay off social media, okay, which helps the mental
health and social media for a week. Watch how your
life changes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. That's listening
right now. Cut people go allR I can do it.
Out it okay. Let me see no social media for
a week. Watch how many other things you get done
in your day, which scrolling on your phone. I did

a social media fast for seven days, dude, I got
so much accomplished, like two months ago in one week.
But I am the DVR king. I love my sports,
so anything I'm evolved around has to do with sports,

was the weird show with the dragon and the old
people with the swords back in the day. What is

one of the shows that going? Yeah, I don't watch
none of that stuff. Man, I don't watch you know,
Power or anything fifty got on TV? All these TV shows, bro,
I'm just it's not my thing, man. Sports and stuff
that makes me laugh. Being I'm a twenty five year
stand up comedian. Sports and things that make me laugh.
I e. Comedy, if it's drama, it's you know, drug selling,

or if it's you know, you know, any type of
weird stuff, people running through the woods. Squid games, Dude,
I don't want I love squid games. I know I
love squid games. Come on, I know, I listen. I
know these shows are uber popular. I know millions of
people watch them. I don't really watch nothing, but sports
are something that's gonna make me laugh quick, cybar. Did

You know, I'm not so yet.

It's called Act my age. He literally is talking about
he's a over forty five, and it's all stuff that
I can relate to because I'm over forty five. Like

The kid's heart's gonna really lead him to where he
wants to play. So that money thing is plausible, but

it's not something that's gonna sway every kid to go
to this school. If you gave all the money to
this school, every kid's gonna go to school. Some kids
still grow up with a certain flag or emblem on
their wall in their bedroom, aren't he? And they want
to go there, and now you can get money to
go there, they'll make it happen. But the other two
jobs that are out there are Florida and LSU. And
I'm like, no, why you're not gonna overdo anything Urban Meyer,

Steve Spurriy or didd Florida. So you're always gonna be
ranked third or lower before below them. But you can
win a championship at LSU, You're never gonna but you're
never gonna be seen better than Nick Sabing or Less Miles.

a lot of high school and I did you call.
I'm trying to get the d one man, Like it's
in us to want to go compete with the best.
And I believe that's Lane Kiffin. He wants to go
compete to be with the best. There's gonna be jobs available,

go to the playoffs no matter what, right, no matter what,
They're going to the playoffs. Do you think that's a
problem now, No, No, because the playoffs with it. I
think twelve. Now here's my thing about the playoff. I
think twelve too many teams. There's not twelve teams that
can win the national championship. We're fooling ourselves. I get it.
Some money grab and I'm all for money, man, I am.

I'm all for money. I want more. I want a
whole bunch of money. So I get I get companies
and and and and deals and and sponsors and dude,
I get that. I never complained about that stuff. That's
the silliest thing to complain about in sports is the
money that we we don't win. We're the ones that's
fed in the pockets. Networks don't make money. Where do
they make money from sponsors? The commercials. They pay two
hundred fifty thousand and three million, five million to ten million

That's how networks make money, and that's how they pay talent.
That's where the budget stuff comes from. Like, it's all
about money. So I get why it's twelve. We can
really cut this thing down to six and it would
work out just fine. Eight if you want to have
a little fun. Twelve you're telling me there's twelve teams
that can really win the nationals. What year in the

history of college football is twelve? Damn teams by December
had the ability to win a national change, right.

But it's not about twelve teams having the ability to
win it. It's about what kind of upsets can we
get in the first round. That's what makes NCAA Basketball
so important. We don't care if sixty five teams really
are sixty eight teams can win it. It's about those
fifteen seeds pulling off the upset, the fourteen seeds winning
those first rounds.

and they keep it the same as far as who's
gonna get seated where and this, And I say you
take your first of all, they need to just make
four power power conferences four the champion automatic birth first
round by then the loser of the conference championship game.
Because you got to the conference championship game. There's your
there's your other four, there's your eight teams, and all

this stuff about last year. SMU, stop it, Boise State,
stop it. Like I'm being honest, stop it. I want,
I want, give me brands. Give me big I'm serious, man,
give me by this time in college football. Stop playing

I think those days are kind of over.

Because we watched so many games nowadays, and you know,
back in the day, Michigan Ohio State always meant so much.
It still means a lot, But I think that those
days are kind of over.

You don't, You don't agree. No, it's still the greatest
rivalry in all the sports. It's still the greatest ribby
lot of sports. And first of all, the game's been
on Fox for the last I want to say, five
or six years, better than like Yankees Boston. Yeah, base
baseball has lost its rivalry, sting to me right because
you play, you play him, you playing ten times.

Basketball has the Lakers nothing nothing, well, nothing nothing like that.

Kobe. Since Kobe, it means nothing. Honestly, since Kobe, it

beat him in a game seven at home. No, No,

favorite ring, right, said first it was the first one
without shock. But he said when he got that, when
he got that one in the game seven at home,
and he chased the ball down with the clock going
down to zero and grabs it right before the baseline
and puts the fist up in the air. Said it's
one of his greatest moments of his life. Like and
this because of the opposite Jersey didn't say that about
the magic about beating the white Howard and Jamier and Nelson.

And you think Michigan Ohio State is still on that
man stead than Auburn Alabama.

Yeah, dude, this is gonna get twenty five million viewers.
He's gonna get twenty five million viewers on Saturday morning.
And that's nine am here. That game kicks off at
nine am here. It's still gonna get twenty five million viewers,
way more than the seven thirty pm Saturday night kickoff
start four to thirty Eastern time of the Iron Bowl.
Because I'll be covering USC UCLA. That kicks off at

four thirty here, so it kicks off the same time
as the Alabama aubring right right.

That was never the still Army Army Navy. Dude is
the commander and the president shows up every games. They
get a Saturday to themselves. And like the last three
or four years, that thing comes down to and you
and you know what's so great about Army Navy. We
know most of those guys aren't going on to the
next night. Of course, right, we know most of those
guys are gonna go serve the world, serve the country.
Some guys, honestly, man, they're not gonna make it like

they're as far as like going across seas. They're not
gonna They're not gonna make it home. Everybody in those
games isn't an engineer or an next ray attacker. Some
of those guys are gonna be have a weapon in

out of high school fourteen Romeo Air Defense Artillery and

Fort Bliss, Oklahoma. So I'm very near and dear to
my heart about the Army Navy game. But a lot
of those guys are not going to the next level.
That's their last game. If they're not going to a
bowl game.

a lot of points though with Michigan. But yeah, oh

thing about Ohio State they turned into they've turned to
a pretty team. You remember, Ohio State used to be

What they finessed too much? Now? Yeah, I think they're

And I think Bryce is Brandon Bonny. I've seen him
both play with my own eyes in person. But he's

he get to the NFL? Yes, Will he get every opportunity? Absolutely?

live up to expectations after he got big.

he's eighteen years old. It's his true freshman year. Yes,
and sad and listen, I'll take him at nine and two.
Did you think he's gonna be nine to two going
into the Michigan game, not into eight and three. I mean,
I didn't think they were a lot better than eight
and three, I know, but.

I didn't think did fall flat on their face or
anything like that.

No, well, a lot of people did. A lot of
people at Michigan with five or six wins. I saw
that all I saw people tell five or six win
they have a freshman, they have a young team, all
these transporporter guys coming up, you know exactly, it has
a lot to do it. He doesn't look like what
they used to seeing on the side, And I get
that didn't have a good start, But listen, he's got

three years because he plays a true freshman, so he
can't leave no earlier than that. He's still got two
more years. So by that fourth year going into the NFL,
h Manny would probably already be under after his rookie year.
For the long haul, the way the NFL lives and
the way offenses will kind of run nowadays, I'll take
a guy that can move.
