Speaker 1 (00:28):

you get there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free

The way tire buying should be well. Right now, just

(00:52):
a little over three minutes left in the fourth quarter,
the Nuggets try to take a three games to none
lead over the Timberwolves. They lead at one eleven one
oh four so far, a triple double for Nikola Jokic
eighteen eleven assists, ten boards, very balanced scoring all around
for the Nuggets. For the t Wolves, Anthony Edwards DJ

(01:13):
Anthony Edwards goosing his way to thirty six points to
lead Minnesota tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
DJ just needed to get out of that play in
game Jitters, I guess found the stroke.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
What's funny is it refreshing my Twitter timeline?

Speaker 3 (01:29):
And you know the blue check marks, yellow check marks,
random skull and crossbone logos.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Be damned.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
I saw the same play utilized for two different purposes.
The Nikola Jokic all right, He's gonna put the ball
on the floor and drive to the hole has either
been extolled by the NBA, their account. It's tough to
say official accounts anymore. Their account wanted to ascribe to

(01:58):
them as look at it. Look at Jokic going to work,
and then people from Minnesota who cover the Timberwolves going
he walks every time he does this, look at his feet.
So either it's the best of things or the worst
of things, depending on your perspective.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Twitter.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
And now about a Fresco Mike at Swollen Dome the
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. As
we can see Friday on an incredible Friday where the
Knicks have already won by twenty Joey Lukes looks like
he's the best starter in Major League Baseball. Oh, look
at this, look at what's happening. But really quick, you
know you mentioned this on Twitter. I just want to
say before we get into a very important story involving possums. Uh,

(02:40):
Twitter should probably use you talking about the blue check
marks the yellow check marks. Also, Twitter should use check
marks like Star Wars uses the color of lightsabers like
each color like means something different for a person. Boy,
I think that's what we're headed. If you're really evil,
you get a red check mark. If you are you know,
a protector, you get a green check mark.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
If you're a here either begging into the franchise so
you keep your account, you get purple.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, you get purple.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Sure, sure, Yeah that's Samuel Jackson. Will you please come
be part of the universe. Yeah, I don't want to
lightsaber anybody else.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, I mean I think that worked out pretty well.
You know, a blue check mark, what the blue light
saberhether you're an avenger or you're a you're a warrior
or something. I mean, that's that's how they did. That's
how the different check mark should go. You should get
different check marks like, uh, well, yes, you're a padawan.
Well you're a young ling. Well hang on, would you
be a no you started, you're a young ling, then

(03:34):
you're a padawan, then you are a Jedi. No, you never,
You're not any walk You're not you want to.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Drive one of those robots though, what the ADATs No no, no, no,
the say I I already finished the Mandalorian.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Oh okay, I want to be gro good. Oh oh,
the last few days there's been on my house going
yes no, yes, no, no, no, no no. You know
what I'm thinking about when that was going on whole
No was the sager. How any times do I say, Hey,
the biggest story in sports the Mets winning tonight, and
take it we go no no, no, no, no no.
I just I was thinking about that watching Grogan just

(04:09):
go no, no, no, no. He's just beating the crap
out of the one storm Trooper going no, no, no,
no no.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
How funny was that though, I mean, that really was
good comedy. Between that and last so it's been pretty
and in the return of Barry, it's been a pretty
good week.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
A TV dude, I'll tell you this. I feel like Mandalorian.
They put everything into that final episode. This season was
so abysmally awful, but the finale was amazing. Yeah, And
I'm like they put everything into that, everything, the humor,
the action, the storyline, everything led to that. I'm like,
oh wow, okay, finally we got a payoff. But I'm like, man,

(04:48):
it was you know, that's ten episodes of a lot
of nothing and craziness and stupid stuff and Jack Black
and Lizzo and what is happening here? There was a
lot of nothing and a lot of weird stories. But
it ended well. So okay, Christopher Lloyd, I forgot, yes, Christopher, Yes,
I forgot well he had the one point twenty one
jiggawats electricity that that power that lightsaber here was that.

(05:11):
But this is a very important few minutes here to
spend talking about possums. As you know, one of the
big stories of this week was the fact that it
looks like it's a Fadeac Compley. It's a certainty, a
virtual certainty, now that the A's are moving to Las Vegas.
You hear the talk the last couple of days. A's
manager Marcotte said, we're not concerned ourselves with moving. We're

(05:33):
thinking about this season. The A's are moving they're going
to Vegas after this season. It's going to happen. Now,
maybe they get to a situation where we got to
play someplace weird for a year and then we're gonna
play getting our stadium bill. But they are leaving. And
for all of the arguments that, oh, you should keep
the A's in Oakland, all I need to do is
tell you about this, and this is all you need

(05:55):
to know why baseball in Oakland was always on borrow time,
and really that only should the A's move, the owner
should be forced to sell the team. This is the
Yankee broadcast from the game last night. Now, as you know,
you've heard Frostburg all the time talk about how the
Oakland Coliseum is a big dump. Well, here's John Sterling
and Susan Waldman talking about what's going on in the

(06:18):
radio booth during the game.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
Why would you then go to a game they're leaving.
They're leaving at the end of this.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Year, unless like you're a fan of the other team,
Well that's true too, or you want to see the
possum in the.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Broadcast booth and the oh one the breaking ball is low.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
You know, the Mets guys made a big deal of
that possum. That possum was there, what we were there
last year?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
He made it has a nest like in the radio booth,
Ken Krek and Vinnie Catronio.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Possums are very sweet.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
They don't hurt anybody.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Okay, I haven't had a lot of interaction with possums, and.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Now they're banging each.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Nice little animals.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Well, you know, as we build our own here, we
already have a child in this possum.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
He's not gonna hurt anybody. Can we adopt him? Can
we keep him dead? Please?

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Shot one?

Speaker 5 (07:09):
Ah?

Speaker 1 (07:10):
How look, this is something you just heard right there,
Susan Waldman give you the reason why baseball is failing
and needs to leave Oakland. All right, think about this
for a second. Yes, we talk funny stuff about a
possum that lives in the broadcast booth, right, and the
Yankees talked about how, hey, the possum was living there
last year, and the Mets guys talked about how they
saw it this year. This is major league bleeping baseball,

(07:35):
major league baseball. And not only is a possum living
in the radio booth, not only had they not gone
out to get it at some point They've let it
live there for a year. They've led a possum that
drops feces and all kinds of stuff. It's not healthy.
They've allowed a possum to live in the radio booth

(07:55):
in the stadium for a year. Come on, man, this
is not the Carolina League where we have the money
for one guy to sweep up after a game and
that's it. And if a family of something nests, a
family of something nests, we'll call in some kind of expert.
If against too bad. This is Major League Baseball. You
have a Major League Baseball stadium where, oh, we can't
remove a possum.

Speaker 7 (08:16):
Possums play dead. It's easy to grab a possum if
you want to. You just walk up to the possum
and go ah, and the possum way, yes. But then
it will lay down and go go. And you grab
it by the tail and you bring it out, and
you say, you don't need to do anything bad to
the posse. Bring the posseive bringings, possum babies, you bring that,
you bring it.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
I say, here you go. You gotta live outside. Now,
you can't live here. You've allowed a possum to live
in the broadcast booth at a Major League baseball stadium
for a year. I'm sorry, but yeah, this means baseball
in this town is not succeeding, and be the owner
should be forced to sell the team. You can't take
care of that, really, you can't take care of that.
Everybody coming in has to worry about possums in up

(08:54):
up above them. Seriously, you really have that happen? What
if the possum got rabid? What if something happens pos
you let that go on? You couldn't take care of it.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
There, I get that, but.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
I get that there's problems, and I understand there's there's
problems with with all kinds of vermin, and hey, we
have a rat problem. But anytime you hear about a
rat problem in stadium, they go crazy to take care
of because last than they want is what they don't
want people not going to the game or not buying
concessions because of that. They call pest control or something else.
That day, someone's coming in tonight. We are gonna close

(09:25):
this concession stand down for a day. We're gonna spray whenever.
We gotta get rid of all of these rats. Right,
we gotta take care of this problem. This is a
visible thing, and they've allowed a possum to lip in
the radio broadcast booth for a year. I mean, if
it was if this is some kind of animal sanctuary,
I'd understand if you're a, hey, we're an outside zoo here, Well,
there's a positive live right there. There's a gazelle that

(09:46):
lives right.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
There are Oakland area. We have a mountain lion that
lives over here, and go and catch great white shirts.
You have to cut them from your line and should
be identify it. Same thing here. It's a possum. I mean,
what the hell do you want me to do? I mean,
these open season on rats and squirrels, but the possum,
I can't do anything.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
I mean, that's all you need to know. That's why
should baseball leave Oakland. They can't take care of it.
We're gonna allow a possum to live in up above
the broadcast booths where people can see it, and it
can come down, it can fall through the roof, can
do it, and it can multiply and have babies. We're
gonna allow this. We're gonna We're not gonna take care
of it. We're gonna allow this. For whelm Over year
probably more. Who knows. This could be an old possum.

(10:22):
It could be the Yoda of possums. It could be
a seven hundred year old possum that walks around going lose.
You will not good our ages. I mean, you could
be any of these days. We're allowing it to live there.
This is why major League Baseball should leave Oakland. Right,
that's all you need to know.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
I think there's a million million reasons. As we chronicled
last night, you got to listen to the whole show.
Go grab the podcast four hours of Merriment. Uh wherever
you get your audio downloaded, give it five stars.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
We'll love you forever.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
But John Fisher should have to accept his part of
the revenue share in check form.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
There's no electronic transfer.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
You have to have the gravitas and the stones to
actually come and pick up your payment. It can't be
done under cover of night because you need to be
shamed as you take that check. Look running here, I mean,
this is a guy that's collecting rent from a city
while while allowing his property to rot. That's exactly what's

(11:17):
going on here and the possum situation as they lay
it out there, and look you're cheering for the other team.
That's been the case in Oakland, it's the case in
many cities where you get a far more vigorous attendance
and sell through and fan interaction when you've got a

(11:38):
couple of big rivals come in, a couple big opponents.
The Yankees come to town, the Cubs come to town,
the Dodgers come to town. You're gonna get some extra
juice into the stadium. But when we're talking about where
the A's are right now and you allow this to
literally to fester, it's an embarrassment of the highest degree.

(11:58):
Even if you can write a million hunch lines about
the takeover of the broadcast booth by a.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Possum, I mean, this is it. Doesn't I get that,
oh we had we had a possum infestation or possum
is in here. We need to Okay, now, I understand,
all right, we gotta take care. But no, what's six
months we're allowed to live there. We're let's live there.
We're gonna allow that to happen. We're just a major
league bet we can't find any time on our to
do list to make that happen.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
I mean, well, here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
You know you do this to rookies, right, whenever you
go play at Wrigley Field, you gotta go in full
uniform to the Starbucks down the street and get everybody's order.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Here.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
You gotta go take care of the possum and pay
tribute and homage to the to the possum. Who's got
to clean up the droppings? Rook get up there, road
trip to Clint. Come on, I mean, does the possum
doubt make the trip to Vegas? Does it become an
institution like the Rael that you have in Tampa where hey,

(12:55):
two fingers, two fingers only.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Pal Oh yeah, the rally possum, Yeah, that's what it
is now. It's a rally possum. Angels had a rally monkey.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
And what you do is you let the what you
do is in the seventh here's what you do. You
let the seventh inning of the game come and you
let the possum and all its babies just run on
the field. That's you do that, that's how you chant,
that's how you really change things around. Just let them
all run on the field.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
That's a new energy, no question about what.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
The hell is going on.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
Run.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
They will devour us all No, No, they'll come back.
That's all good. It's a rally possum.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
It's all good. If they become mute, and then you
have the and you're allowing them to breed, there's problems.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
So you have the players in the in the dugout
when they're bad, they're just holding the possum up as
it's playing dead by its tail. Hey, come on, come on,
come on. This is the It doesn't get more embarrassing
than this. Are you not entertained? You wonder why baseball's
leaving out.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon, Well Dressed Hobo. It's a live drop Friday.
All three NBA games in the books. Denver now leads
their series over Minnesota three games to none. They beat
the t Wolves one twenty to one eleven earlier tonight,
Atlanta beats Boston one thirty one twenty two. What about

(14:11):
the third game? We let's kick things off with that
game of our next guest joining us now in the hotline,
longtime NBA inside and check them out on FS one.
Here with us at Fox Sports Radio, host of the
On the Ball podcast. He is on Twitter at Rick Buker.
That is at Rick Buker, and I'm going to start
our conversation Rick Buker with two words, Yeah nix yo,

(14:34):
Nick Show.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
It's the only way to go. You know what I
gotta tell you, I if I had not promised to
come on tonight, I probably would have failed knowing what
this conversation was going to be. Like that's it's probably
not going to be. It's not going to be a conversation.
It's just going to be sort of a verbal gloating
for about ten to fifteen minutes, and well deserved. I

(14:56):
will say that the U the Knicks responded in a
big way. It was a pleasure to see Madison Square
Garden being what Madison Square Garden can be when the
Knicks are playing well. And a little get back on
Donovan Mitchell, who ended up in Cleveland rather than New York,

(15:19):
probably not by his bidding, but nonetheless had to be
a very satisfying victory, not only for the Knicks, but
I'm sure one late night radio host as well.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Hey, as I said, earlier in the show. My biggest
concern for the Knicks right because we've seen a lot
of things. We've seen how deep they are, We've seen
the impact of Jalen Brunson's No one's had a bigger
impact as a free agent on their new team the
last few years in the NBA. Honestly, my biggest concern
can they handle success because they couldn't do it two
years ago when they made the playoffs. Can they handle

(15:56):
success because right now it seems like, hey, we're great,
we have everything going. Can they handle success?

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (16:02):
And I think that's I think to answer your question,
I don't see why not considering that they there's enough
guys that have a memory of what it was, of
what happened a couple of years ago, and you have
Brunson coming in who approaches things with a completely different mindset.
He's not there just to earn his paycheck. He's not

(16:22):
there just to prove he can be a star in
New York. He wants, he wants to win, and I'm
I'm glad to put him on my MVP ballot because
certainly he has demonstrated that he is all of that.
So I don't this series will be interesting. I think
this next game is going to be really, really pivotal.

(16:45):
If Cleveland finds the way to make their way back,
and certainly they're capable of that, then then I still
give the Calves the edge in winning the series, but
by all indications, it's going to go at least seven games.
I don't think either one of these teams is going
to give up without without a fight.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
What's great about it is everybody actually shows up to
play in this series.

Speaker 8 (17:08):
Rick, Yeah, yeah, yeah, we got that. I mean, goodness, gracious,
it's well. The problem is that even if you do
show up, you don't know when the referees are going
to kick you out, so too, that's.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
Fairly arbitrary in that regard as well.

Speaker 8 (17:26):
Yeah, so hey, I'm here now, I'm not okay, Uh
what happened? It's uh yeah, look, I feel a man.
The Clippers are just that sad luck team, aren't they.
And I think what's difficult to deal with is they
got a lot of other guys that are that are
playing hard and and we're hoping, even with Paul George out,

(17:50):
that they could survive. And I had them, I had
them as an upset special going into the series against
the Suns. I don't think the Suns. I don't think
the Suns had the depth that the the Clippers had.
And the way Kawhi Leonard was playing at the end
of the season and the fact that he wasn't missing
games and he was consistently playing hard at both ends
of the floor. I was like, you know what, they
they could survive without Paul George and then they get

(18:13):
Paul George back, and who knows what could happen. But
I just I was my speak cohort Shady McCoy said
that he had some insight information is that the reason
that they rested Kawhi in Game three was in order
to have him ready for Game four because it's an
early start tomorrow, and the feeling was that if he

(18:35):
played Thursday night, that there was no way he was
going to be able to play that soon again on Saturday.
And obviously that that intel was flawed because this sprain
knee issue is a legitimate issue, and who knows if
and when he gets back. And I know they made

(18:59):
a really valiant effort against against the Sun's Thursday night,
but I just don't see how they have the personnel
this isn't. This isn't the Memphis Grizzlies up against the
Lakers without John Morant or the Milwaukee Bucks without Yannis
playing the Miami Heat. The Sons are just too formidable

(19:24):
for the Clippers not to have either one of their
stars and to think that they're actually going to pull
one out. It's just the Suns just have a little
too much. The matchups are just not there. And the
guys that are coming off the bench for the Clippers,
while giving them a lot and a lot more than
the Suns, get off the bench when you have to

(19:44):
suddenly change things around and you're going a little bit
deeper and you're taking one of those bench guys and
you're making them a starter. I wish I could give
you a formula or an equation that would work, but
or even the you know, look, I thought the Warriors
without Draymond Green would still smoke the Sacramento Kings at home.
This is just a different dynamic. And so what I

(20:06):
thought was going to be a really exciting series and
where we can see an upset early, I just don't
see any way that that's gonna happen. Now.

Speaker 9 (20:13):
You know.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
The thing is, Ricky bring up the injury to Kawhi Leonard.
We saw the headline today Joel Embiid is now going
to miss some time with sprain knee, and this is
something we talked about earlier in the show. I want
to get you your take on this, is that since
the bubble, right, because I think we can now break
up the NBA. This era of the NBA, you know,
pre bubble, which was the Golden State Warriors dynasty. You
know they squeaked one out. But now post bubble, of course,

(20:36):
being healthy is the most important thing. You want to
make sure your players are healthy. But it's gotten to
the point now when stars miss games, it's a shoulder shrug.
Like it used to be if Joey you know, five
years ago, if Joel Embiid was missing a playoff game,
was gonna miss it was it was one of the
biggest headlines in sport. Can they still win? Are they done?
And now it's like it's just accepted that these guys

(20:57):
are gonna miss games, and it's it's gone from Hey,
this is a big concern too. It's ninety five percent
of winning a championship is making sure you stay healthy.
Is this just because they play too many games because
whatever reason, we're seeing that all the stars every year,
you have all NBA teams, guys missing games when it
comes to the playoffs.

Speaker 8 (21:15):
Yeah, I honestly I believe that it is an issue
when it comes to teams don't practice anymore, Teams don't
play five on five when they do practice anymore, and
players are not conditioned for the game. So if you're
doing all one on one individual drill stuff and you're
always resting, and then suddenly you have to play in

(21:38):
the unpredictable dynamics of a of a game and you
have to find a way to function by utilizing the
efficiency of your team collectively, and you haven't practiced five
on five? Where does that come from? Where does that

(22:02):
your body being conditioned to react the way it needs
to in a game? How are you getting that when
everything is sort of static and controlled and uh? And
I think that that is at the heart of what
we're seeing because I I just look at the Sacramento Kings.
Nobody plays at a faster pace, Nobody gets up more,

(22:24):
you know, up and down more than they do. Nobody
scores more than they do, and they've they've been relatively
injury free and it's not because they don't play physical,
because we know what Demmas Sabonis how he plays, uh
Davion Mitchell. But they practice. They practice five on five.
It's one of the things Mike Mike Brown has them do.
And the Warriors, while they have some older guys and

(22:46):
they're careful with how they do things, they they have
those guys practice and it's why they are able to
play the way they can and score the way they can.
Uh and and I and I really think that that's
the that's the missing element here. And and I don't
know how we get back to it because it's not

(23:07):
only just the teams and the medical staff. The players
union has negotiated to have less practice time, which for
me is like the most insane thing that I can
I just it's such a dereliction of all the things
that I would would wouldn't want my union to fight for.
I want greater benefits, I want better greater security, I

(23:29):
want better insurance. I want all of those things. Now
you know what we're going to We're going to reduce
the amount of time that you have to spend getting
good at your job. What Like, I just as a professional,
I don't understand why you would ever negotiate to have
less time practicing your craft with your teammates, with your workers.

(23:53):
It's it's I mean, this is not a nine to
five job, So working nine to four, you're gonna get
paid regardless, is not. It doesn't equate. That real world
aspect doesn't equate. It's like, the better we are, the
more success we have, the better I get paid. Like
what part of that would I not want to be

(24:15):
a part of? And how do I get there without
practicing and spending time with my teammates? And I just
I believe that's that's what at the heart of why
we're seeing all these stars get injured because look at Kawhi,
like Kawhi or toe LMB like their usage rate and
the and the stress on them in the playoffs are

(24:35):
only going.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
To go up.

Speaker 8 (24:37):
So if they've never had to face that playing every
other day against top competition where they're the centerpiece, how
are the posity can go to do it in the
playoffs when things things become even more intense.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Sory Guy Rick Buker with US Jason Smiths Show with
be Mike Harmon here Fox Sports Radio. It is one
thing the NBA and NFL do have in time in common.
Look at those great wins we got. Let's practice time
and you see what it begets at Rick Buker where
you find him on Twitter, you see him on FS one.
Hear the On the Ball with Rick Bucker podcast, No

(25:12):
Filter Network Ambassador, he's a pianist, he's the man of
all men, and he joins us each and every week
talking all things NBA. So we got a heavyweight fight ready.
Dylan Brooks looks the part playing at the heel. Lebron
James addressed it very briefly in his presser. What do
you expecting when they get finally get back on the
court again tomorrow night.

Speaker 8 (25:32):
I'm look, I don't expect Lebron's going to go try
to get forty. I don't expect that he's going to
I'm sure at some point, some way, somehow he's going
to try to have He's going to try to do
a couple things to let Dylan Brooks know that he's
not in his stratosphere. I don't think he's going to
try to do it all game. I don't think it's

(25:53):
going to be a Michael Jordan case of I'm going
to put fifty on you, and I'm going to humiliate you.
I'm going to call for the ball every time, and
I'm going to score on you every time. The Kobe
Michael Jordan dynamics. It's not the way Lebron has been
generally even in his heyday, and at this point, I
don't think the Lakers win if he approaches it that way.

(26:16):
At thirty eight. The numbers during the regular season tell
you that when Lebron is the leading scorer and dominating
their shots, that they're a five hundred team. And when Austin.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Reeves is the.

Speaker 8 (26:31):
Is the guy or there's better distribution, they're far more effective.
It's just where Lebron is at this point and what
they need him to do. He's far more valuable as
a playmaker with the dynamic of his team.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
So I.

Speaker 8 (26:46):
But it should be fun. This is what I'm most
curious about is how the Memphis Grizzlies collectively handle it
and how Dylan Brooks handles it of a hostile crowd.
I don't know whether he's going to play it up
more or he's going to play it up less. But

(27:10):
I think the most extraordinary thing is that we're talking
about Dylan Brooks and he was not good in the
last game. They got a lot of great contributions from
a variety of guys, but they generally made their big
pushes to build their leads that they were able to
hold on to when he was off the floor. Didn't

(27:30):
shoot the ball particularly well. I know he's given credit for,
you know, how he defended. He played hard. I think
Lebron still got the shots that he wanted. But Lebron simply,
to me, this is the most interesting part. And I
don't know whether it's his foot or whether it's his age,

(27:50):
but there was not once where he tried to take
anybody off the bounce anytime he was if he could
make it in transition, if he could make it on
a give and go, then he was going to the
cup and scoring. But otherwise he was trying to back
those guys down, not to a great effect, and in fact,
I don't think that works for them either, because it
slows them down so much. So I'll be fascinated to

(28:11):
see I don't think we're going to I think we'll
get some moments that will satisfy us in terms of
the back and forth, but I don't think it's going
to be the overarching theme of the of the game.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
You can follow on Twitter at Rick Buker. That is

Guns on television, tight shirts watching Top Gun for the
first time, no spoilers.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Time to celebrate the week that is, the week that was,
the week that will be in the NBA the best
way we know how. It is time to play whoa.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
And now it's the Magic Johnson Twitter game.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
No more obvious.

Speaker 6 (29:57):
Than Vanilla tweeter than Magic Johnson. We play the Magic
Johnson Twitter game. Your job is pretty simple. I give
you a tweet. You tell me if it is a
Magic Johnson tweet or made up entirely by me.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
That is a tweet playing as myself. Mike Harmon, Steve
de Sager, Alex Tyshert justin Frostburg. Are you ready? You
know it's getting harder now that he doesn't have a
blue check mark. Well I'm judging. I'm going by the
Magic Johnson account that's got five point three million followers,
so I'm pretty sure this is Magic John's pretty sure.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
It is one hell of a fake account.

Speaker 10 (30:29):
Well he could have bought them.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
I'm so excited to watch the Cavs first, the Knicks tonight. Yeah,
is that a magic Johnson tweet? I mean, is that
a magic Johnson tweet? I'm so excited to watch the
Cavs versus the next tonight. Yeah, I'll say yeah, said,
no one ever stop Steve just because your anti Knicks

(30:52):
except for magic Steve. Yeah, well, tight shirt.

Speaker 9 (30:55):
He would say that after he would say that, Yes,
that is a magic Johnson tweet. Very good, very good.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Nikolajic, just like Joel Embiid, showing they are both worthy
of the MVP. Is that a magic Johnson tweet?

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Yes, because it's a tweet that would get your blue
check mark taken away.

Speaker 10 (31:26):
Just vanilla enough.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
I guess yes, Nikola, just like Joelle and Breed just
like Joel Embiid, proving they are both the NBA MVP. Okay,
I really think he knows that the Nuggets played the
night in no way, okay saying no tyshir.

Speaker 5 (31:40):
Yeah, I don't think he's that in depth in sports anymore.
I'm gonna say no that in depth only sports sports.
He has a movie theater, not no more's yes, he
has one movie theater.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
That's it. He's in a movie.

Speaker 5 (31:51):
He's struggling. He doesn't make a lot of money. I
bet you he knows more of those tweets about movies. Now, no,
as someone who what No, he does not do that. That
is about tweet.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
That is nut uh That Joel embiid Nicola Jokice, that
is not Magic Johnson tweets.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
So if it said, hey, you know, I equate them.
So if Nicola Jokic were to kick somebody in the junk,
he wouldn't get ejected, then I would.

Speaker 5 (32:20):
Have agreed, just got ejected.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Hopefully injuries and suspensions don't ruin the NBA playoffs? Is
that magic? No Johnson tweet Hopefully injuries and suspensions don't
ruin the NBA playoffs. I'm gonna say.

Speaker 10 (32:39):
Yes, no, because then he would be saying what the
fans are thinking. How he doesn't tweet like that interesting.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
Too in depth into the game. Wow, that's for a
guy who doesn't watch basketball. According to tight Shirt, he
does just attention anymore. No, not a tweet, not a tweet.
Tight shirt.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
Well, that would go against my saying that if I
said yes, so, then no.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Let me do you know what team Magic Johnson played
for when he played basketball.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
I think he played for the Los Angeles Kings.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
He did play for the King's Rocket team, Yes, yes, yes,
then he then he played for the Kansas City Kings.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
I was hoping he'd be a Mighty's Ducks player, but he.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Played for the Wizards at the end, he did. Yes,
he came out of retirement to play for the Wizard. Yet,
don't wear a wizard hat too.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
Don't you dare to say there's no mighty in front
of the Ducks.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
No, it's just mighty.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
No, there's mighty Ducks.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
And then the ball on his hand like a wizard.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
But you said mightiest ducks, it's just mighty. Well, they
were the strongest, but it's just might ducks out there.
There's just it's just mighty.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
Donk oh.

Speaker 10 (33:35):
There were very few seasons back in the Mighty Ducks
days where they were actually the mightiest.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Quack quack quack.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
I'm calling Paul Creer right now because you said that,
Steve Wow is well done.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
Good. That's a good poll right there.

Speaker 5 (33:47):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
That is.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Not Let's go Johnson tweet. Steph Curry put on a
dazzling show leading the warrior Is with thirty six points
in their victory over the Kings.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
Is that to use the word dazzling.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
Magic. Johnson tweets apparently harmon fix magic is anti dazzle.
I don't like to use words with two z's back
to back.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
I don't let it know.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
He would have said magic and then winked at words
like is a.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
With two z's. Doesn't possibly coach Tom, It's not even
a real word, Tom, I'll say no. Magic does love
Steph a lot. So I'm gonna go.

Speaker 5 (34:30):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm gonna think so too. He seems like
a Steph fan. Steph who tight shirt, Stephan Curry, Stephan very,
Stephan Edinburgh tennis player. That's a good guy.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Who nicely does that.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Is is a magic? Yes, he likes the word dazzling.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
You gotta wear him.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
You gotta wear an.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
Arm of on the old way.

Speaker 10 (34:58):
The La Kings, Magic's old team tied to two with
two minutes.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Let's go positive vibes only Steve Twitter and out about
a Fresca Mike at Swollen Dome. Coming up next, we
have a huge story out of the NBA. To get to.
This is Fox Sports Radio.
