f s R. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Welcome
into the final hour of The Odd Couple for year two.
That's right, it's a fucking flashback Friday, Rob Parker along
with Allen Lee and for Chris Buszard. We're broadcasting live
(00:46):
from the Tyrock dot Com studios tiro dot com. We'll
help you get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,
free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers.
That's right, tire rech dot com um the way tire
buying should be. Rob. As we in the year here,
(01:06):
I am shocked, totally shocked that you're not ringing in
the New Year at some comedy club. I should be.
I know, I I just kind of flamed out. I
should be doing it. It would be great. I'm going
to do get on stage again, uh this coming year, definitely.
I did it three times this year, and the one
in Detroit, Man was great, you know all my family
(01:27):
and friends. And the first one, uh at the comedy store.
It was a comedy store, was great in Hollywood. And
I did another one in Santa Monica. So yeah, I'm
looking forward to it again. It was a lot of
fun and uh, I got some new jokes ready to go.
All right, I'm gonna say speaking of jokes, Okay, no,
and I mean by this. There's a story on ESPN
(01:50):
dot com and the headline, Alan, are you ready for this? Seriously?
Go ahead. The headline on the story is, does Jim
Harball have anything left to prove that Michigan? Hello? Is
this onip? Did we miss a championship that he won
(02:14):
in Michigan? This is like a story of like they're
letting him off the hook that he can't win the
national championship. Why you're telling me that all that matters
is beating Ohio State in Michigan State. Then yeah, Okay,
I guess he's he's done it and that's the case.
If that's that's how you measuring everything. Sure, he didn't
want to He didn't win a Super Bowl with the
forty niners, right, he went I'm just asking why are
(02:39):
people letting Jim Harball off the hooking all the way here? Alan?
Why not kick the door and beat TCU and then
win the championship? Why why are people making excuses already, like, well,
you know people at Michigan are happy? Is it because
of the people at Michigan? And I don't understand that.
You know, I worked there for twenty years, Alan worked
(03:00):
in Detroit. How many years you work eighteen years? We
worked there for a long time. And I don't understand
why the people in ann Arbor when it comes to
football are so like, so soft and not demanding to
want to win naturally. They have a statue of both
Seen Bechler. Both Seen Bechler and I have one thing
(03:22):
in common. We both never won a national championship. You
hear me, Alan, he when they were winning all those
big ten titles, it was Michigan, right, Ohio states. That
was that they weren't being there was only those two schools.
What you know that they loved both beler like like,
he's won a national championship and the one that they
(03:43):
won in nine was a mythical shared. They haven't won
a national championship since the Louisiana purchase I will. He
produced much like Bobby Night, he produced quality men when
they went out into the world. He produced quality football players,
sports and about sports as a short menu Alan wins
(04:04):
and losses that nothing else on the menu. Why are
people giving Jim Harball a break? Why aren't they holding him?
You got this far, you went last year, you got
humiliated in the college football playoffs, all right, that can't
happen again against Georgia. That can't happen again. You gotta
I mean, they're not gonna be TCU. They better. What's
(04:26):
what's the spread of that game? Here's the thing for
that game. To me, TCU can lose that game. Tc
you can't get blown out in my opinion, because that's
a bad that's a bad statement for this whole bull
picture expanding kind of thing, because then you go and
all we've had Alan to be honest, and nothing but
blowouts for the most part like that, and that's what
(04:46):
four teams wait to open it up to twelve. But
Michigan absolutely cannot lose that game in my opinion, tomorrow
cannot lose. It is on them the pressure you have
to win that game tomorrow and it'd be nice if
you did it in convincing fashion. I'm with you. I
just don't understand why people think Jim Harball is it's
(05:11):
it's a done deal. He lost. He lost the five,
the first five games in the House. Stay. Do you
remember that? Does everybody not? Because he's won the last two.
That the time he beat the House Stay a couple
of years aga saved this job, no question about it.
Oh yeah, Remember he took a pay cut. He tried
to put his name of some NFL job. Nobody was
interested in Jim Harball. Even the Lions wouldn't interview him.
(05:33):
If that was a couple of years ago, they would
have jumped at the chance to hire Remember, right, But
I don't understand this whole thing that he has nothing
left to prove. Okay, you've won the Big Ten championship. Okay, Grant, Okay,
you've done that. So what's next. We're gonna win it again.
We gotta win it again. We're gonna go. No, you
start to set your slights at that point in time
to me a little higher. We need to take that
next step. We There is no good reason, at least
(05:54):
in Michigan fans minds that Michigan can't be on the
same level as Alabama. But but they they have convinced
themselves that they just want to be relevant. It's like
one of the weakest fan bases from that standpoint that
they don't hold those guys accountable that they want to win.
Why shouldn't Michigan want to win a national championship? Forget
(06:17):
about the helmet, forget about the hundred and six thousand people.
Why shouldn't you win? Why? And it's gonna get tougher
in a couple of years once USC and u c
l A joined the Big Ten, because there's no question
why U c l A. I mean, why USC made
the higher that they did. He's championships, right, They're not.
(06:39):
They're not just wanting wanting to be in a mix again.
They want to win a national championship. And I can't
for the life of me that you know, my whole
time there, I could never understand why they were just
happy with selling out the stadium, winning ten games a year,
maybe winning a Bowl game, maybe not. And and uh
(07:01):
and some of the embarrassing lawsuits we've seen by Michigan
and by Jim Harbaugh. And I'm not saying he hadn't
done anything the last two years. Okay, he finally got there,
But why now, I just don't even understand that the
whole premise of the story of he has nothing, he
has nothing to prove that really, Yeah, but you know
you haven't lived if you're a Michigan fan, if you
haven't taken a selfie in the Big House. Oh yeah,
(07:24):
well that's that's a big part of life in ann Arbor.
But I think he has plenty to prove and winning.
Can Can Jim Harbor win one one championship like one?
He hadn't want to and he didn't win in the
NFL and these big games, these big games have not
been good to him. You can't continue to let teams
(07:46):
like Alabama, Clemson, Georgia now just consistently be in the
National Championship game and sort of in the discussion for
everybody else. You have to make that next step up.
And I get the fact that it's hard to get
rid of coaches. It all depends on, again, what your
program is all about. And I'll say this again, if
(08:07):
beating Ohio State, Michigan State and win the Big Ten
championship every year is your level of success, and be
happy with that and and and celebrate that that that's
that's it. But at a school I imagine, like imagine
at Alabama, fans are probably not having a good holiday
because they're not in the national championship picture. There are
(08:29):
other schools that that's their whole, that's their achievement level.
We want to be in the national championship game. So
Michigan has to take that next step forward. If you
want to be in that conversation consistently, you have to.
Michigan attracts players from all over the country. They have
(08:51):
a storied frenchise despite not winning the big one. Right,
Like we said, Uh, what was that ninety seven with Nebraska?
They split, they shared it. That's the only one they have,
which is unbelievable when you think about the history of
of that UH program and the Boschem Beckler and all
the other stuff. But I just like the idea that
(09:13):
that he's a made man who could write that that
he has nothing. It should be Jim Harbaugh needs to
finish the job right internally right now. If I'm a
Michigan fan, I want nothing more than to get another
crack at Georgia. That to me is where I would
sit right now, Like, I want to play Georgia because
they embarrassed you last year. That's the team I would
(09:33):
beat him getting past if he does that and wins,
and then and then he decides, Okay, I'm gonna go
back to the pros and I'm done. I got the
job done. The job isn't done. Like if people think
that he came back and just made them relevant, didn't
he come back to win a championship? That that's your
that's your alma matera, right, you played for ball? He
has all that was a quarterback from Michigan captain comeback,
(09:56):
I got all that, But didn't you come back to
deliver that haampionship and then you could ride off in
the sunset. I wouldn't even feel good if I had
to play Ohio State again. I'd be like, all right,
I meat that blew him out State that it's even
questionable that they got rewarded to go to the right.
I mean, seriously, well, what are you gonna do at
that point in time? Though USC probably didn't deserve because
(10:17):
of that, right, No, No, you know the defense is
horrible all year, but that was bad. I don't know alright,
eight seven seven ninety nine on Files You want to
hear from you eight seven seven, nine nine six sixty
three sixty nine On This Michigan and Jim Harball, Really
I want you to chry Man lock in Jim Harbor
(10:38):
did he have he has nothing to prove that, Michigan.
What am I missing? Somebody helped me? Why aren't people
holding him accountable and saying it's time for Jim Harbor
to win, to win big, stop with the when with
letting him off the hook. And he's done it as
he did well. The lone Ranger job is done here,
(10:59):
you know, like, don't let's get out of here. The
job isn't Donny hasn't won anything, hasn't won Jack eight
seven seven On Fox, It is The Odd Couple Fox
Sports Radio, Rob Parker and Allen Lee in for Chris
Muss right here on Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to
(11:20):
catch live editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard
and Rob Parker week days at seven pm Eastern four
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart
Radio app. It is the I Couple. On a fun
Flashback Friday, Rob Parker and Allen Lee and for Chris
Broussard were coming to you live from the tire Rock
dot com studios, and we're talking about Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.
(11:43):
Somehow does a story on ESPN dot Com saying does
Jim Harbaugh have anything else to prove? Yes? He does?
How about winning a national championship? Why are people letting
Jim Harball off the hook? Michigan has one national championship
in seven, a mythical one at that and it was shared. Yes,
(12:06):
he has to win. We want to hear from you
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty nine. All right down, let's get
two these people. I'm calling Michigan people out as well.
Look at that, Mike from Las Vegas. You're listening to
the Odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio. Mike, what do
you think? Hey, Robin Chris, how are you guys? We're
(12:28):
doing good? Good? Hey, listen rob My mission on a
Native Deed triter. I catch you when I can't hear,
but I missed you from being back home, so I
appreciate being on here. Absolutely. I'm a lifelong Michigan guy
with a lifelong bit of frustration that the candle or
the mantel has never been high enough. The standard needs
to be higher. You have to win national championships. I
(12:50):
was a huge Bull fan. He didn't do anything. Uh,
Lloyd won one, which was great, shared or not. But
Jim Harbaugh needs to win. I'm sick of the standard.
Oh this is good enough. No it's not, thank you.
I want to be competing with Alabama and I hear
it all the time out here in Vegas. You want
to be Alabama, you want to be Clemson, you want
to be that team from Ohio. Then win a national
(13:12):
championship and win a couple because Ohio State is no doubt, Mike,
thanks for the call, eight seven seven on Fox. All right,
let's go to Rick. You're listening to the odd Couple
on Fox Sports Radio. Rick is from Michigan, so this
should be interested no doubt. Rick, how are you? You know?
(13:32):
Living the dream? I agree with you, guys, Michigan needs
to win. They need to win now. Harbor. I was
excited when they hired him. I was like, finally a
guy that's going to get us over the hump. And
he hasn't done anything. He saved his job by beating
Ohio twice. That's not good enough anymore. Like you need
to win. You need to win now. I'm just Rick.
(13:55):
I don't understand why people in ann Arbor are just
good with being real event and why shouldn't they want
to taste of the national championship. Alabama wasn't wasn't good
for a long time until Nick Saban showed up right
and then all of a sudden they win a national championship.
Ohio State has won national championship. Oh I agree, and
it's not Michigan fans want that too. My big thing
(14:18):
is Hard puts butts in the seats. He brings money
into the school, he keeps the name in the headlines,
and for the people in charge, that's good enough. They're
making money with him there. They could care less if
he wins or not, as long as that dollar keeps
coming in. And that's not good enough for the fans.
We want more. We deserve Championshipschian is a story franchise.
(14:42):
We deserve better, No doubt appreciate the call Rick a
happy New year eight seven seven on Fox. All right,
let's go to Terrell from Friends. No, you're listening to
the Odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio. Throw what you got?
How you knowing fellas. Thanks for taking more. No doubt
how you I'm doing good. I'm doing good. I'm a
(15:02):
I'm a die hard Michian fan myself. I do want
to point out there was a I can't remember the story.
There's a story with J. J. McCarthy and he was saying, now,
winning the national championship and get beating Georgia is exactly
what fueled this team to another another undefeated season. Beating
Ohio State again, Let's not take away the importance of
(15:24):
beating Ohio. They've been one of the top three programs.
So beating No twice it's still good. But you're absolutely right,
it's time to go get a Natty. But I want
you to know in the locker room, our leader J J. McCarty,
he said, since that game when we lost to Georgia
last year, that's been a fuel for this entire season.
We're ready to go. We're back. That's gonna get this
(15:46):
national championship and that should be right if you use
the t c U, I mean people, oh god, no,
thanks to appreciate it. Seven seven on five, Sam from
Agora Hills, California. You're listening to the Odd Couple on
Fox Sports Radio. Sam, what's your take? Oh, thanks for
(16:07):
taking my call, fellow year Yes, sir, thanks, thank you
very much. I want to win, but I think maybe
it's just taking taking the easy road. If they don't win,
it's okay, take the pressure off. They're going to end
up winning the whole thing. You think they'll win the
whole champion the championship. Yeah, okay. Now if he does
(16:29):
that and get the job done, then he's done that Michigan.
He could bake him ride off in the sunset. I'm
that serious, like like right in fact, almost wouldn't want
to come back and have to defend that. I agree,
Thanks for the call, Sam, That would be the greatest accident.
You come back to your alma model, you get them relevant,
and you go through your struggle. You finally beat your
rival hoile stay twice. You you go undefeated, you win
(16:52):
a national championship. You're holding that. What's left now that
that is there's nothing else to prove that. And of
course then you can sit there though and sort of
do like, uh, you know your buddy is at Michigan
State right out the whole to the sunset. Because now
you've done it, you just make a ton of money,
low cost of living and life is good and you
just you know, I mean you mean like Tom Yeah,
(17:16):
who hasn't won since Moby Dick was a guppy. It's
only been it's only been twenty some years. And I'm
just saying, but you know, you right out the rest
of your career, Michigan football coach, you beat ohiouse stay,
you beat Michigan State a national championship and you never
paid for another drinking and I'm probably not paying for
(17:37):
one now, no doubt. All right, Jack, Oh, go ahead, Yeah,
that's all right, Jack from Maine. You're listening to the
Odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio. What you got for us, Jack,
long time listener, first time calle Thanky, Jack Man. We
appreciate you, my man, thank you, thank you. I love
both of you all, but I love your Mark. I
(18:00):
think he's uh, he's a player's coach. That's fine, and
I get it. But Jack, don't they have to win?
And now, well, I'm just saying, why are people saying
there's nothing to prove? Should Michigan be trying to win
a national championship? There should be something to prove, and
Michigan should absolutely be in the running with the Georgia
and Alabama and all of them. And that's my point.
(18:22):
They need you need to take that next step to
where you every year you're in that discussion to win
a national championship. All right, Jack, we appreciate you. One
last one. Amanda Armando from Riverside, California. You're listening to
the couple on Fox Sports Radio. Happy holidays to you,
you guys. You guys do a great job. Thank you. Hey,
(18:44):
you know hardball, you know it might be. I agree,
I I think I think I think he's a hell
of a coach. I think he did a hell of
a job at the NFL. Uh and and I think
he would get a lot of offers out there. But
as far as him being a Pete Carroll uh, Nick
Saban Uh you're putting his stated you know he hasn't done. Jack.
(19:08):
Those guys all won. You could say whatever you want, right,
they all won. That that's correct. They won and and
and and they had to win. I mean the alumni,
they they they you know, you had to do it.
You know, sc they don't put up with that. It
neither does you know, UH Alabama, Notre Dame and UH
(19:30):
alleges like that. If they want to be on that
level they got they should want to win. And Michigan
you're talking about end. I mean, that's a long time.
Well let me let me ask you this. Uh if
U c l A would have dominated USC in football
for five or six, seven, eight years and then it's
(19:52):
the time they did with Donny Hue and all that.
I mean s he s C alumni, and I don't
get the Michigan you know, they would just tolerated any
Robinson or somebody coming in there and just winning the pack. No, no, no,
And that's the whole thing. And thanks for the call.
We appreciate it. For several years USC coaching Carasa because
(20:15):
they couldn't get the right guy and everything, and they
paid a price for it. But they're winning now. And
that's another thing I was talking about earlier, is that
things are gonna get tougher in the Big ten once
USC and U c l A getting there, because now
you have really expanded the recruiting situation. And I'm telling
you right now, if I'm a kid in the Midwest
and you see l A or USC come calling, and
(20:37):
that nice weather and all the other things that it
has to so you can play, you could play it
and still being a big tent? Are you going? Fox

Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio App, presented
by bet MGM. My favorite guy oh in Vegas, no
doubt about his name is Lamar Mitchell. He is the
bet MGM Director of Trading. What's up, Lamar? How are
you doing? Say hi to Allen Lee? Happy New Year? Yeah,
no doubt. All right, let's get started here with the
(21:45):
Cowboys got the win last night? Lamar in Tennessee on
a short week, Lamar, how does the short week factor in?
Two expectations for any one team. When the betting line
is created, like when somebody has a short week, it's
definitely factored into the short weekend the injuries that are
going uh for that game, so we have to look
(22:07):
and see you. Obviously, with Tennessee, we knew they were
gonna be resting a lot of their starters, so our
initial opening the game was short. Once we found out
Tennessee was resting to play for that last big game
of the season, the Cowboy line jumped up and we
had the sharps on the Cowboys, of course, but I
was a push, right, What what was your line? You'll
find I got. I was fourteen right. We closed at
(22:28):
thirteen and a half. What the Shots lost, Uh, well,
not the ones that laid it up to up to
the four team, So we had some guys that you know,
laid to eleven and a half twelve and a half.
Those guys didn't win on that side, but the late
money that came in that pushed it back down to
thirteen and a half. Those guys, uh that they lost
(22:50):
plus fourteen all right. The Dolphins are heading up to
New England as two and a half road underdogs, with
Miami having lost four straight. Does the betting public half
any faith left in this team, and I mean too
is not playing this week either. You know what's funny
is UH ticket count on this game is actually even,
So that's kind of surprising. But you know, take Breakwater
(23:11):
is a solid backup, and I think that's uh the
reason why the betting public is solid uh betting on
this game. The Sharps have taken both sides of this game.
They've taken the plus three on the Dolphins and they've
laid the one and a half on the Patriots when
it first opened. So um Joes are even money on
this but the Sharps are both sides as well. All Right,
(23:33):
the Chiefs take on the Broncos, uh and our big
home favorites at minus twelve and a half when the
line is double digits to betters tend to lean a
particular way regardless of the teams, Like, what did they
just automatically say I want twelve and a half points?
Usually they laid that, laid the point. You know, the
public always bets the points bets of favorites. In this situation,
(23:56):
there's still Chiefs are slight two to one favorite, and
I expect with more tickets coming in on New Year's
Day that probably jumps to three to one. But the
Sharps are on the Broncos at plus thirteen and a half.
All right. Now, the Bucks are three and a half
favorites at home against the Panthers this weekend. The over
under is set at forty and a half as of today.
What kind of action are you guys seeing on the
(24:18):
over under for this matchup considering the both teams ranking
the bottom half of the league in scoring wise this season.
You know what's surprising about that no sharp player in
this and it's been pretty evenly bet from the Joe's
on here on the total here, which is surprising. Like
you say, I mean, this is a big game for
(24:38):
the Bucks and the Panthers here, but not a lot
of money on this total although the Sharks the Sharks
on the side of the Bucks minus at three, but
nothing on the total all right. The Packers some one
three in a row and the three point home favorites
against the Vikings, even after getting spanked by the Vikings
in the previous match all the way back on week one.
(25:00):
I don't know if we could really even think about
that game. Does the must win factor for Green Bay
play in a part in this betting line. You know,
it's funny. We took a large ticks figure bet on
the Packers earlier this week minus three minus one twenty.
The Packers, as you know, have always been a public team,
and right now the ticket account is about two to
(25:22):
one in favor of the Packers. Uh. The Sharks though,
are on the side of the Vikings, which you know,
after what they did on Week one, like you said,
that was so long ago, but the Sharks are on
the side of the Vikings. That plus that three. The
Bills are minus one road favorites going into Cincinnati from
Monday night. Football can't wait for this game. When the
(25:42):
line is this low, does it entice more action? Will
create an opposite effect for betters, you know, since this
is the Monday night game sent alone, we expect a
lot of action to come the day of the game.
But right now, just the ticket account on this is
even surprise the league with the facts of the Bills
or minus one on the road. But everyone is in
(26:04):
love with Joe Burrow and that Cincinnati offense to that
Cincinnati defense that's been playing a little bit better. Uh,
Bills have been kind of sporadic but the public uh
even money or even ticket count on this and the
charts have laid off this game. So that tells you
the number is right and marketing, that's the right number
of bills minus one. All right, Rams and Charges playing
so far is Sunday and what essentially is a meaningless
(26:27):
game for the Rams, uh playoff wise. But uh, there's
the cross town matchup like this. You have factor that
in when you guys make a betting line of two
teams that know each other, not really looking, but sometimes
we do look at it. It's it's really difficult. When
the games are one side, it means something for them.
(26:48):
And then you know, the Chargers although they're in the playoffs, uh,
possibly could move up and they're slotting. Um, the public
is in the favor of the Chargers to the one.
The Sharps have bet this total under it was under
forty three, now forty two. Now it's at forty one.
But the Sharks are not on this side. Um either side. Uh,
(27:08):
So this tells you this game so far little too
a little interest in this uh cross town rival right now?
All right, lamar the college football playoffs. So this weekend
there are two semifinal matchups. What are the numbers like
this weekend surrounding these two games for you guys, And
is the NFL taking a back seat in anyway in
(27:29):
terms of the money coming from in from this weekend?
NFL is king and just we we know that the
NFL is king. Obviously these games are really really good matchups.
The money that's come in is obviously not the same
as an NFL Sunday. You know, we'll get some We
expect some players have already reached out to its high
six figure that's for these games, but a lot of
(27:52):
times the players in choir about betting the six figures
and then never show up. So we get a lot
of high fives and your bets on these games. We
we have haven't had any large six figure bets on
either one of these games at this time. But yeah,
these matchups look at outstanding. George's a four to one
ticket account favor then and Michigan to to one ticket
count in favor of the Wolverine just two to one
(28:14):
hug against TCU. Are you surprised by that? I am
actually surprised. I mean the sharps are on TCU at
plus the eight and a half or down to seven
and a half. That is kind of surprising. And the
Sharps are definitely on Ohio State plus the six and
a half and plus the seven. We're at six right now.
But you know, Ohio State's a little bit more of
(28:34):
a blue blood compared to TU. So that's kind of
surprising that the Sharps are on TCU, considering Michigan has
been uh this is their second time in the playoff
under Harbor right, no doubt he is. Lamar Mitchell one
of the best in the business. Bet MGM, Director of
Trading Lamar. Happy New Year to you and your family,
my man. We appreciate you. You know that you two
(28:56):
you too. Happy New Year fellas you stay faith out
there and enjoy the New years. All right? Coming up
next right here on The Odd Couple, it's the NFL
Pigs Can Pick Off. We will do that, Allen and
I will pick some games. So you want to stick
around for that. It is The Odd Couple. Fox Sports Radio,
stick and stay to make some chetta. Going to three
(29:19):
in the US of A. Be sure to catch live
editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob
Parker week days at seven p m. Eastern four pm
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio app.
It is the odd couple on a funky flashback Friday.
It's Alex DJ and somewhere this weekend. No, I mean,
he should be doing a party with everything he's doing
(29:41):
for the right price. Hit me up. That's right, and
we're coming to you live from the Tirero dot Com
studios and we do have a sad note to pass along.
ABC News has reported that television icon Barbara Walters has
died at age ninety three. And Alan, you know, she
was indeed a trail blazer. Why when she the first
(30:04):
woman on the Today Show. But wow that her interviews were.
You know, she was known from making people cry and
things like that, but she she really was very personable,
got people to open up about themselves and just did
amazing work for a long long Remember she's the one
who formed the view. She's the one who created the
view and put all those women together. And she used
(30:27):
to be on it early on when it first started.
But Barbara, that was her idea and uh made her
a lot of money in her She's definitely iconic. Like
when you think about Barbara wald we haven't seen her
in a few years. Yeah, I think she's been sort
of ill the last few several years. But it's still
a sad loss when whenever it happens, it's still so sad,
even though you expected and you know what's coming. It's
(30:49):
never easy still, all right, Hey, Ricky, can we squeeze in?
Let's do it the NFL picks can pick off? Can
Are you ready to retire the odd couple? It's got
to make you rich. Gambling ice corruptions their pig skin
pick off? That's right, this is the pigskin Pickoff Week seventeen,
(31:09):
First game up. Dolphins are going to New England. The
Patriots are a two and a half point favorite in
this game, Rob who you got? You know what? I'm
gonna go with the Dolphins and Teddy Bridgewater. They need
to win, you know, Like I know they don't have two,
but they had desperate They've lost four in a road.
They need to win. I'm gonna have them win the game,
(31:30):
not only cover the two and a half, but I
mean not only you know, lose and cover, but I
think that they win. I almost have to ask what
the weather's like up there? Well, it's New England and
December pretty bad. Yeah, so I'm gonna go with New England.
I'm going with the weather in Belichick somehow pulls out
some old maggot magic or some old film, one of
the two. The old film, definitely, all right, Ricky. Oh,
(31:58):
the next game, we got up, you guys, Broncos at
the Chiefs. The Chiefs our home favorites in this one
at twelve and a half points. Allan, who you got?
Denver is a mess, an absolute mess, and you and
you don't know whether right now they're going to rally
around the changes that have been made there. But nonetheless,
I think the Chiefs are just gonna get this and
(32:18):
has a lot of points. That's a lot of points,
but it's too touchdowns. I'm sorry, I can't touch Denver.
They're stinky. I this is the one where you want
to make back some of those losses. Just put the
money down. Don't be afraid. I want to pick uh
Casey and put some loop down pack the Chiefs as well. Okay,
for our third game, you guys, the forty Niners are
(32:40):
going to Vegas. The forty Niners are favorites in this game,
though on the road they are nine and a half
point favorites. Rob who you got? I'm gonna go same thing. Uh,
Jared Stidham and what's going on? And you know DeVante
is not happy Derek Carrs bench. There might be a
lot of players unhappy and maybe they want to show
Josh mc it was one of mistakes. This is so
(33:02):
I'm gonna I'm gonna go. I'm gonna give up the
nine a half point I'm gonna yeah. I think Brock
Purdy gets it done again with that. You know that
all the talent that he has there, especially in the backfield. McCaffrey,
Uh yeah, I'm easy win for the forty niners. Okay,
you guys, we got a battle for l A. The
Rams are are on the road in l A against
(33:24):
the Chargers. The Chargers are six and a half point favorite,
Alan who you got? This is a tough one because
the Chargers have been playing, but they've been squeaking out games.
But the Rams are starting to play pretty well. Baker's
not bad. They're start acres. Last week we went off like,
I don't know what that was. I mean, did Eric
Dickerson like consume his body or something? Last week? That
(33:47):
was just nuts. But you know what, I'm actually gonna
take the Rams on this one. I'm going to close
the gap. Let's buying the Chargers. I think they finally
because you're right, they've been squeaking. This is one of
those weeks they can win by a touchdown in six
and a half. I could deal with that with one touchdown.
All right, Okay, Alan, as you told Lamar, you're really
(34:08):
looking forward to this game Monday night, the Bills are
going to Cincinnati. The Bills are our favorites on the
road one point to one, Rob who you got, I'm
going with Joe Burrow and and the Bengals. I mean
they have Remember they lost their first two games and
(34:30):
and they were two and four to start the season,
and they've been rolling. I love the Bengals. I think
they get it done this part of this this part
of the season. I think you want to make a
statement because the playoffs are just around the corner. Yeah,
I'm gonna go with the Bengals too. I think they
want to send the message that that we're ready to
go back. And you remember they beat Kansas City three
times in one calendar year. They they beat the Big
(34:50):
Boy anymore. I'll tell you guys, five games. All right,
there we go. Allen Lee. Another stellar performance. And look
one of our our listeners, Miss B. Miss miss B.
She sent a great little email about you and Hi.
(35:13):
Good show. Allen Lee has a nice, smooth, deep voice.
Like it. He sounds like the Don Cornelius of sports radio.
I'm not making that Don Cornelius love piece. And so
that's right. We're talking about icons. But again, if you
(35:35):
just joined us, we were talking about Barbara Walters who
passed member dates Spoofer. She had some career she had
like a little bit of a speech. Uh impediment, Barbara,
You've made it. Made it whenever when they're I mean
imitating you. Hilda Radner did it, and a few other people.
(35:56):
But yeah, there it is so Allen, Happy Knew Year
to you and your family. Thank you man. It's been
a pleasure to be a part of the spot Fox
Sports family this this year and hopefully that can continue
in the next year. I appreciate all the wonderful people here. Alex,
love you man. Alex has got to be drinking spring water.
Ricky also met. Great job Ricky, Alex and Steve de Seger.
(36:18):
Happy New Year, my friends, and happy New Year to
all the odd couple listeners, we appreciate you. To Jason
Smith show is not that gets to America.
