Please give you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Greetings and welcome inside our three of The Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Harmon Hubo live from
the tiraq dot com studios. Here on a live drop
Friday night, Kelly Clarkson drop, But that's not a drop
on the show. That's just a drop. It's got to

(00:49):
be a drop that we play on the show next
suck that also is not a drop.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Hell, Alan, you know, I think Alix just recorded that. Yeah,
so it will be come a drop tell Alli. Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
So, we have some big stuff coming from the NBA
in a couple of seconds. But with the second and
third round of the draft in the books, I'm gonna
say something that really is shocking because I no, no, no, no,
I actually really like what the Raiders have done. Tonight

(01:27):
I think about it. I really have liked what the
Raiders have done tonight. In fact, this is gonna wind
up pushing into a trade that's gonna likely happen because
now we're getting into the next you know, the weekend
draft days, and there's been rumors for whether it's Austin
Eckler or Derrick Henry other guys that might wind up
getting drafted. But you look at what the Raiders have
done tonight, and they draft Michael Mayer, tight end out

(01:49):
of Notre Dame, who had a first round grade, one
of the top two tight ends on the board, and
they're able to get him much later than they thought.
Hey awesome. Then they come back in the third, third
round and they take Trey Tucker, who's a slot guy
out of Cincinnati, and he's a fast slot guy. He
had he had, you know, really good measurables. I can't

(02:10):
believe that Hunter Renfro is not gonna wind up getting
traded after this, and that you have gotten now two
players to replace the old guard with. Like they've tried
to make it work. But Renfro was a pro bowler
two years ago. He got hurt this year, did not
have a great season. They traded Darren Waller away to
the Giants. Okay, we need to replace these with newer,

(02:31):
younger guys that we think are more durable and can
help us stretch the field a little bit more. And
that's kind of what they've done. Mayer is younger. Darren
Wallers had a tough time staying on the field. He
had an incredible season. You know, when John Gruden was
coaching team, was Darren Waller is the best player I've
ever coached in the NFL. But wall had a lot
of troubles staying healthy. So now they're replacing with a

(02:51):
much younger player that they're not paying a lot of
money to. And here's Hunter renfro who well is you know,
as much as we like him, is he a guy
that's really gonna help us? He was hurt last year.
Now they get a younger replacement for him out of Cincinnati.
I got a feeling that he's going to be traded
at some point in the next couple of days. But really,
the Raiders remaking their talent room and going way younger.

(03:12):
I kind of like this. I don't say this a
lot about the Raiders. I like what the Raiders are doing.
I'm crazy, Mike Harmon. I mean maybe because it's the
Jets have Aaron Rodgers and I like a lot more
this week than I normally do. But I love what
the Raiders are doing. I can't believe I just said
that again.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
But you go back to their draft pick in the
first round. Tyree Wilson was a guy that on many
boards had shot up to where there was discussion he
might eclipse Will Anderson as the first defensive player selected. Instead,
we saw what Houston did, and we talked with Jason
Cole last hour, and you know theorized that you know

(03:46):
he had when you look at Demiko Ryans, he had
the no matter what Anderson and you know, was gonna
probably run wild like Hulcomania on the executives if that
pick didn't happen. Paired up with the quarterback Stroud. But
you had mayor some questions of why why he slid.

(04:07):
I don't know that there was, you know, just like
Will Levis, it's people just picking stuff out of the
air and trying to argue it. Certainly he was either
first or second at the tight end position. But Tucker
coming in, you already have Adams your draft Mayor, and
you brought in Jacoby Myers. Remember he gave you the ball,
you gave him the bag is going to be the

(04:27):
tagline for the rest of his life. So if Hunter
Renfro is healthy, he's a guy that should be able
to command some kind of interest in the trade world. Otherwise,
you run with four wide receivers. It's not a bad
way to go either.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
They suck.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
I mean, I mean Wilson, Mayor and Tucker they may
have had so far. We're only we're only two rounds
into the draft, right, but they may have had the
best draft of anybody. Stop it, this draft of anybody
so far, because I'm not a big fan of Oh hey,
the first day the Texans. Why because they got two players? Okay, well,

(05:04):
just because they got two players, Well, the Texas have
the best draft. Well, okay, we're not playing one on one.
But if a guy gets to play with two players
because they draft, no.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
No, no, do you know why they were given the the
best draft grades by a lot of folks because they
did something logical? Well, you went and got two great
players to anchor both sides of the ball in theory
for the next decade. So when you finally come from
several years of absolute chaos and ineptitude and with no

(05:32):
discernible hierarchy. Remember Trader Bill, and there's a vacuum. I'm
in charge now, Sweet you're gone. You mouthed off to me,
you brought me cold coffee. You're all out of here.
So we saw that go down. But you know, you
look at in its cliche to do it. But you

(05:53):
got the Eagles that you know, they did their thing
once again.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Eagle's gonna sure, right, I mean, just.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Keep building up both lines.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Uh, you get Tyler Steen out of Alabama, you go
back the Illinois secondary. As much as Illinois football has
been kind of a laughing stock to a degree for
a long time. You saw a top five pick and
then you see Sydney Brown come off the board here,
so the rich get richer. Oh yeah, and that Nolan
Smith guy out of George is pretty good too. That

(06:26):
they went and snaked at the back end of the
first round. So there's there's a lot to like there.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
No, it's shocking because you don't expect it from the Raiders, right,
but the Texans yeah wait, oh yeah, it's gonna go bad.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
Oh wow.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
No, But the thing is is that when you want
to talk about having a great draft, right, it's easy
to say, well, the the Panthers had a great draft.
The Texans had a graft. Okay, well the Panthers were
picking first, and I could have picked Bryce Young. I mean, really,
when when a three thousand miles away who talks on
the radio for a living could make your first pick

(07:04):
for you? I mean, how much work did you really do?
I mean, did you are you really that or that you.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Did your due diligence? You told all the guys that
you might draft him. I mean you saw him account
he was all over. It's like, hey man, we really
like what you did. You might be the guy you
might be. You're gonna look good in the Panthers uniform.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
I wish you.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Weren't such a liar. He owes all those people calls.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
But the thing is is that you need to be
able to have some sort of uh what would I say?
You have some sort of of of degree of difficulty
when you're making when you're making selections the way it's
like if I'm picking for if I'm picking second and
I'm taking whatever quarterback is not taking it one?

Speaker 5 (07:44):
All right?

Speaker 1 (07:45):
And is it really that, I really do that great
a job. But the Raiders being able to you know,
you talked about the you talked about the picks, and
they're all terrific picks.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
You know.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
I mean, Wilson is someone who You're right, they talked
about him being being up as high he went up
to number seven. They were happy to get him there.
He's going to be a huge, high impact guy day one.
You're replacing guys in the passing and to get young.
They had defensive tackle as well. I really I think
the I mean, I'm crazy. I think the Raiders have
had the best draft of anybody.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Yes you are.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
I can't. I never want to give them credit for anything.
Remember the Raiders on my never again list. But this
is different. But this is different. This is not what
they're gonna do on the field. This is about what
they're doing the day of the draft, and the Raiders
are the best draft.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Well, because that's the other thing to pull away from this,
right as we extol the virtues of these different quarterbacks
and try to go through all, well, he did this,
they did.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
That in college. We've got so many narratives, so many
historical lessons to be learned from guys that dominated in
college football and then went to the pros and it
didn't work.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Some of the most decorated guys of all time to
where when it started flying in the NFL, it was
too fast. They were big enough in crept In never
got a shot because they got drafted to the wrong slot. Right,
it's the wrong place, and then it sets you down
the spiral. Now you get multiple bites at the apple.

(09:10):
What's upon a time you went from all right, you're starter,
now you're backup. You wash out in that team. You
don't get to bounce around the league, right, this is
an a All right, we're gonna we're doing speed dating
and you're gonna get half the teams in the league
on your resume before it's done. But now you can
hang around and we've seen a lot of guys do that.
But you know, going through and we'll get all the

(09:32):
draft grades or whatever just on paper. Yeah, looks like
this team did well. That team did well. The Raiders
did well well. There's still the Raiders, right, and and
history has shown us to why you and your peacocking
over the Jets.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
I see.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
But here's the thing, and here I'll tell you the truth.
I am not a big fan of what the Jets
have done. Well.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
I mean, Bill Belichick screwed him in the first round. Yeah,
I mean, and right, I mean that was pretty obvious.
He went out of his way. Yeah, you want to
get the lineman. Okay, great, I mean they got a
lineman in the second round. But here they are it's
like another edge rusher. Really, they got five guys. They
got like five edge run do you read it? I mean,
I get the Robert Saliz like, we address ten defensive linemen.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Okay, I understand that, but you have some positions of
n Eed on that and you really think that's what's
gonna We'll take another edge rusher. I mean it's a
you know, look, they went for best available, and I
get it. You always want to take the most talented
guy out there. But you go crazy, you know, trying
to get as many edge rushers as you have and
they have like five guys. What are you gonna do? Really,

(10:35):
I mean there's only a couple guys, and two guys
can get on the field at once. That's it. That's
all you can do.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
You know.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
It's like it's like the nixt like two years ago,
when they had eleven power forwards, you're not gonna win. Yeah, okay,
you got a lot of good power forward, but how
many guys can be on the quarter one?

Speaker 3 (10:49):
But I mean how many times we talked about the Jets.
For a long time, it was all interior defensive linemen
one after the next. Now it's the obsession with the edge,
which which isn't a bad way to go. I mean
that's where football is is won these days, and certainly
where guys are gonna get paid. And then beauty's in
the eye of the beholder, just like I don't know

(11:10):
what you see in that person, or what you like
about that job, or why you put extra sauce on everything.
I mean, whatever the case may be, it's too drenched.
It Like.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
The same penalty for holding is.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
That you had a player that was in Will McDonald
fourth Iowa State go clones, all of those those fun things.
But he was a guy that you know in many
mocks if you're if you're doing your you're reading and
looking around at where it fits. Late first or early
second was where he was targeted. But Jet's fall in

(11:44):
love with him, and here we.

Speaker 1 (11:46):

the Jack Nicholson game. Jack Nicholson, who was seen in

(13:43):
public for the first time in two years a couple
of weeks ago in a second time out.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is Anthony Hopkins. It's the
Anthony Hopkins game.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
It's Anthony Hopkins game.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Up.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Yeah, I forgive it all, Alex. I sure who thought
Anthony Hopkins or thought Jack Nicholson. Yeah, Silence of the
Lambs was not It was Anthony Hopkins. Yes, it would
have been a much different movie. I think with you
think so, Yeah, well Jack would have been wearing sunglasses
while he was behind.

Speaker 6 (14:13):
Bars and yeah, you know, I don't know a much
different feel to it. Yeah, he would he have commanded
more than twelve minutes of era of screen time to
oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Jack Nicholson doesn't do a movie where he's only on
screen for twelve minutes.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
If that was Anthony Hopkinson in Courtside, he would have
had been muzzled.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Yeah, would sure they roll him out? Yeah? I don't think.
I don't think. I don't think Jack would say, wait,
how many minutes am my on scrawl? Do something else instead?
Not yet. But Jack is seen in public for the
first time a couple of weeks ago when paparazzi got
video footage of him walking out on his balcony just

(14:52):
like for a breath of fresh air. Walking out his
balcony looked like he just woke up from a nap.
He's in you know, pants and a T shirt and
his hair is kind of all over the place. And
it was why is the first time anybody's really seen
Jack in a couple of years. It's crazy this is
Jack Nicholson because he hasn't been seen since he was
at a Laker game in twenty twenty one. That was
the last time, and so in advance was eighty six

(15:15):
birthday because he just turned eighty six. Boy Jack Nicholson,
we see him, he's he okay, is Jack alright? What's
going on? Our reports of his health? What you know,
things can go crazy, And I'm sure part of it
for Jack Nicholson was, while I want to make sure
people know that you know, I'm okay. You know I'm
not suddenly passing. I'm a mom alright. Jack Nicholson shows
up at the Laker game tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies,

(15:38):
and he sits courtside and he walks in and he
sits down, and he's wearing his purple pants and people
are taking pictures with him, and John Morant's dad is
walking over to take pictures with Jack. Hey, my son's
playing the Lakers in a big winner, go home game,
but hey, Jack's file man. I want to say hi.
Everybody's taking pictures of him with him. He waves to
the camera. He says, hey, guys, how you doing. I mean, really,

(15:59):
this was a it was a mind blowing moment that suddenly,
here is, you know, a big story in pop culture
and that we've been paying attention to the last couple
of weeks. Because if you if you're hanging out with
your friends at any time. I'm sure that's come up
and conversation. Dude, you see Jack Nicholson. Oh yeah, they
got a picture. Yeah how did he look?

Speaker 5 (16:16):
Man?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
I don't know. Jack Lee looked heavy, he looked this,
I don't know. And then here he is at the
game tonight and the Lakers are just absolutely demolishing the
Grizzlies bad seventy seven forty nine. Midway through the third quarter.
It is a twenty eight point lead for the.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
Lakers, actually thirty one. But who's counting?

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Well, couple, But what are you always telling me? Frostburg,
No play by play, no play by.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Play, play by play. Sure it was up by thirty one?

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Is play by play?

Speaker 3 (16:43):
He just giving you an update as the ball sailed
through the d.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
D Angela Russell just in a three. Yeah, it's a
thirty one point lead. Okay, So there we are.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
That's where I have a couple of things here.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
First off, and there been more cutaways and images of
Jack Nicholson in the telecast tonight than there of cutaways
to Will Levis yesterday at the NFL Draft.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Didn't we count twenty nine?

Speaker 3 (17:06):
They said it was thirty seven. I saw him thirty seven.
Shut up, but someone was just trying to be funny.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Maybe it was thirty seven, maybe maybe thirty seven counting
the pre draft, but I heard twenty They cut to
him twenty nine times during the draft.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Okay, either way, twenty nine is.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Either way you're talking about. Yeah, that's like once after
every pick. Hey, Will Levis is there, Hey, Bill Levis
is there. Don't forget Will Levis still waiting. Will Levis
on old Hey, look, Will Levis is there. Laker's up
thirty one now, guys, So I have two more questions.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
I need to get you guys a pick.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Okay, well, there's no show the Grizzlies tonight or Will
Levis not going tonight.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
Two of the draft.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
The Grizzlies, you.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Know, the Grizzlies.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
At least Will Levis had his girl there the Grizzlies.
Grizz got nobody.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Now, there were a lot of girls there for Will.
I mean, that was that great.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
That's what I'm talking about. He was doing just for
I'm in the green room.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
That was that looked like me at the club on
a Sunday night when I was twenty two, Like, hey, hey,
kids are.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Only there were girls around, right, Hey, al right.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
There's always lots of girls around. I was listen, Hey,
oh that's so boy. Ladies love me, girls adore me.
I mean even the ones who never saw me. Like
the way that I rhyme at a show. Why they do? Man,
I don't know, cous uh No. I the girls like
when I hit I hit my sweet spot. I would
say when I was like twenty sweet spot team, when

(18:29):
I was twenty, I was twenty one, I hit my
sweet spot. I'm like, yeah, okay, now I got it.
I kind of got it. Now twenty one through twenty three,
twenty four, that's what. Okay, Now I got it. Now
I got it. No, I was not kid, was there? Man?
I'd have been great in a draft room.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Third and final question, Okay.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Will any of the Grizzlies talk to the media or
will they just walk straight to the bus?

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Oh no, no, no, there's a plane waiting right outside
of the crypto, and they're gonna just walk right out
and onto the plane and leave like that's what it's
gonna be. They they're gonna get on take.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Off and leave that they were never here.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Oh my good, But I mean di'angelo Russell. Here are
your moments. You had Shrewder who didn't really do a
lot offensively, but played great defense for a long stretch
as the lead swelled in the in the second half.
I mean, Rob Lowe is standing there in great I'm sorry,
it's Rob Plinka in great anticipation.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
Of what's going on here.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
As we get to the five thirty mark of the
third quarter, just an absolute tail whipping Mike going on here.
They're well, I was gonna point to you and ask
your opinion on this.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
You don't even need the point to me. I told
you this months and months ago.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
He did not. You did not.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
I did not.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
This is a pretty recent phenomenon of the Lakers are back.
This is this is an absolute liars ago. When they
were never anywhere to be back earlier on in the season.
You can't say they were bet. They were never back.
They weren't back until all year. They weren't back until
Lebron got hurt and he realized, oh wait, this team
is better without me. I better get back here and
be a little bit more unselfish. Oh look at the Lakers.

(20:06):
Look how good they are now now they're back. You
think you're funny I'm being truthful. I'm being truthful.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
The show is tonight, and.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Say, in this moment, no, I think you're probably this
moment tonight.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Grizzlies winning the series, So wear it. Your best player
tonight has been Jack Nicholson. Let's be honest. Get the heat.
He gets the game ball tonight, Jack Nick Heat. If
Jack Nicholson doesn't come to this game, you're the heat.
You're getting dropped by twenty if Jack Nicholson is not
at this game.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Yeah, there's a much bigger point to make here on
these two games.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Here.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Well, in this moment right now, all of us together
in community with our legion of listeners worldwide, and we
thank you for being part of our extended family. The
Lakers have never been more back than they are right now.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Yeah, this is about as back as you could be.
And this this is.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
Prettand I will applaud them given that they looked like
they were tripping over their own damn tongues in the
fourth quarter of Game five of this series, that they
rallied and they came in and absolutely just from pillar
to post beat the hell out of this team and
didn't leave it any doubt. Lebron doing behind the back

(21:22):
passes and all this nonsense. As we get down deep,
it's globe trotter time. But they didn't play with their
food or their meat as it were taking well if
you don't. They took care of the business. Whereas earlier
tonight we watched the Warriors offer up a billion questions

(21:45):
as to what the hell's wrong with this team? Where's
that killer instinct that's made them such a long standing
stalwart and tough out here in our NBA playoffs?

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Where was the heart? Where was the desire?

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Where was the excellence of execution on their home court
where they dominated all year? They give you nothing, half
ass effort.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
Oh, I can't wait for Jason to pick the Warriors
or Kings over the Lakers next round too.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Listen, We're no, why don't you guys don't know this?
If the Lakers win this game, we're going right to
the Knicks Lakers Finals. What what part of that? Don't
you understand? The Heat are going to beat the next
everybody else gets sent home. It's it's we go right
to Nick Lakers. That's what I guess.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
I'm cool with that.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah. Jimmy Butler coffee guard outside the garden is going
to be epic.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
It's gonna be an easier championship winning the bubble.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
And at twenty bucks, it's actually cheaper than a lot
of the other ones that are around there.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Hey, Jimmy, that was some kind of series. I thank you,
but that's all we need from you because we have
Knicks Lakers now wait what Yeah, we'll see you next year.
Great series. I love you, Love what you did. Also
is that we're going right to next Lakers. But the
thing that surprised me the most about the Lakers tonight,
what continues to surprise me here is they're up, you know,
with the eighty six fifty seven lead over over the Grizzlies.

(22:57):
Let's the score, the eighty six, eighty eight fifty seven.
Now with Ad going in for a layup and he's
going to the free throw.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
Liney is that?

Speaker 1 (23:05):
My big thing was, Remember I said earlier this week,
why are a d and Lebron even getting on the
plane for Game five? Right? Stay back, get you keep
your energy up and be ready for Game six. Right,
you have a quick turnaround because it's a late game
on Monday night and an early game on Wednesday. Yeah,
you're up three to one, go sacrifice this next game,
and a D and Lebron can get three and a

(23:27):
half days rest and be ready for Game six. And
if something happens and you lose Game six, they're even
fresher for Game seven. But I watch tonight and I'm like, God,
this is gonna be a tough part. No, the Lakers.
This is like, we can win an NBA championship tonight.
There that they have, like you you watch, you watch
the body language of Lebron and Ad. They are still

(23:50):
rolling strong with a forty point lead right now, or
a thirty point lead right now and three and a
half to go in the third quarter. Like there's been
no lulls. There has been no Hey, here's where Memphis
gets back in the game. Here's where you know they
they kind of take it easy for a little bit.
They settle for for lazy shots. A D and Lebron
have been so incredibly active up and down the floor,

(24:13):
and Lebron is is leading and pointing and much more
of a conductor than he is someone out to score
forty tonight that actually, that absolutely stuns me that they
have this much energy and this much No, let's keep going,
let's keep going.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
No, No, no, it does.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
It shouldn't surprise you. When you're beating the hell out
of a team. It's easy, but you're not going to show.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Any sign of squad.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
How many times have we seen the Lakers with huge
leads as you are, they're up by twenty five. Oh
now it's a five point game with five minutes left.
Regular season, the Lakers happened all the time. I didn't
think they'd have it, after the after the short turnaround
course today and back to Friday. Lebron the mostactly, Yes,
that's right. That's what surprised me the most, because you

(25:00):
didn't want them to be back.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
I've tried to tell him he doesn't making stuff up.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
When did we get to the point where I'm just
gonna you guys are just gonna make stuff up. Now
they're gonna make it up.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
Wait, like I haven't been telling you they're back, you're gonna.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
Make it up. No, you've not said that once all
of a sudden, Oh I hate Lebron. Oh you take
the leg you hands saying I've never said any of
this stuff. I've never said any of this. You guys
want to.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Make amalgam of a lot of what you just said,
don't sell you guys.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
I'm gonna start making stuff up about you guys, and
what you not? Guys aren't gonna like it. I'm gonna
make all kinds of stuff up. No, I'm gonna make
stuff up about you.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
The Lakers are back. You think I care what you
have to say, then.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
We see.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
I paying for that. You just live. That's actually almost
sounded like the drop itself. You watch you, guys, you guys,
watch you guys. You just dropped his pants too, just
making stuff up.

Speaker 2 (25:53):

best friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Jason's a Mets fan. He doesn't know anything about hits.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
We're fine. Hey, I'm ready for the Knicks Lakers NBA Finals.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
I'm ready.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
I'm starting to come around on the Lakers, aren't you not.
This is about the business of basketball. He's looking out
for here, I.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Mean, dad has up.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
It is a live drop Friday and on Fridays. This
is kind of hell.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
If he dies, he dies.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
This is is poop fest.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
The Mets are.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Tell Allen, uh, neither that.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Has become your goat to because whenever there's a buzzes.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Break in the action. Yeah, tell Allan, it is my
is my favorite one. Tell Grayson that did not.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
Jason, don't give time left in the game. The game's over,
nine and a half to go. The game's over.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Lakers lead the Grizzlies one oh three sixty nine. And uh.
The two things coming off of this game to get
into here for a second is that we told you okay,
well that that is true. Uh, we told you about
all the different things the Lakers have done right since

(27:26):
the trade deadline. Everything they've done new and being able
to figure things out offensively to where Lebron can can
be a small forward. He can he can be the
point guard. D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reeves work well together
in the backcourt. Ad buys in Ruey Hachimura when games.
When darvinham likes him, he gets to get out there

(27:47):
and have big games. But they figured it out. But
tonight you watch the Grizzlies. The flip side of this
is they are shooting thirty percent from the floor. John
Moran every time he gets into the lane either loses
the ball backs off of Anthony Davis. And that's the thing.
The Lakers have figured out defensively, exactly how to be

(28:10):
an elite team. And that doesn't get talked about enough. Yes,
what you do offensively, Look, because it's the NBA, we understand,
it's what it is. But when you can figure things
out defensively and suddenly stifle a younger team that should
be running up and down the floor on you, yeah,
more attention needs to be spent on Hey, look at
how look look at how the Lakers are be able
to transform themselves on d It's not sexy. It's not

(28:33):
as sexy as saying, hey, look at Lebron changing his game,
or here's Anthony Davis buying in or look at that.
It's not sexy, but it's an absolute big time reason.
Why are the Lakers here? Why are they up by thirty?
Why are they knocking out the Grizzlies and six? Because
because defensively they have become an elite team, the Lakers

(28:54):
and the Knicks, whatever you want to say, Brunton is great.
What he's been able to do over the course of
this year phenomenal. We watch guys like a manuill quickly
come off the bench and score. Julius Randall when he's healthy,
an All Star player, but being able to figure out
defensively and play in Timbadeau's style. There they were able
to really shut down everything the Cavaliers had going on

(29:14):
outside of Garland's big game. He gave them nothing. They mitchels, right,
So it's about being that. Would you shut up Frostzburg
for five bleeping seconds?

Speaker 3 (29:24):
I didn't know if he was whizippering that to me
just or if that was on air, So I didn't win.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Jason heard the five seconds five? Jason heard that five seconds?
Way do we play the NFL Draft open coming up
in a few minutes. Youll see what Frostburg quick trigger
finger on the microphone style? Is that the next? Oh
my goodness, Oh my goodness, you heard again? Just oh wow?
This is just I you know, I need to time out.

Speaker 5 (29:50):
I need to time out, all right, So I'll speak now.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
I'll tell you look at the defensive uh stalwarts uh
that we saw tonight. You mentioned Shrewder earlier twenty three minutes.
He's got two points, but he was like a plus
fourteen the last I looked, right, you go down, Hatchamura
hasn't had to score a bunch defensively.

Speaker 5 (30:11):
The rotations of Titan.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
You've gotten some great work out of Reeze only eleven
to night but and terrible from three point range. But
you've had so much efficiency from Davis and James and
then D'Angelo Russell with the game of his life to say, hey,
I want to stay here, and he was pointing at
Kyrie Irving, who was courtside.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
You had taken my job.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
Get out of here, stop hugging Lebron and beat it.
So you got all that working for you as well.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Twitter at how about a fresco Mike get swollen down
the Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon.
Oh you guys, do you guys know anything else? You
guys want to keep going? I thought you guys want
to just keep going?

Speaker 5 (30:50):
Well, you said doing it at a time out, just
keep going.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
So I did some analysis that did not include shifting
to the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
I did the recent you guys, just keep going. You
got he's got go ahead, go ahead to tukh guys,
do your think Do you think we're all good?

Speaker 4 (31:04):
Here's why Lebron is not a top ten NBA player.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
It's not a drop. That is so not you said
it take.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
I gave you a take that was a good that
was a good hot take tonight because they beat the
hell out of the Grizzlies. You know what, it was
a good effort. I like the killer instinct to close
out the series. But what the hell? Yeah, he he's
not top ten.
