You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Greetings, Welcome inside our
three of The Jason Smith Show with my bas friend
Mike Harmon. True, we can talk about how complicated other
banks make it to redeem credit card rewards, or we
could talk about how we discover you can redeem your
rewards for cash and any amount at any time. I
mean talk about amazing. Learn more at discovered dot com

(00:46):
slash Redeem Rewards. That's discovered dot com slash redeem rewards
terms they do apply. Well. We are here on what
could be Tony Gonsolin's first major League loss of the
season right now, the Dodgers trailing the Nationals four to one.

(01:08):
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Juan Soto has
a two run triple and he actually slid into third base,
pulled off his Washington, Jersey to reveal a Dodger jersey
with Justin Turner's number right now. Uh, And it was
very surprising. I could have said, Bellinger, but you're not
come on, you know it was too low hanging fruit.
What do you want? What do you but? I mean,

(01:29):
you gotta go after the injured guy. Well, you know
it's saying you know, he's he's not playing. So I said, here,
I could take his number because now I could play. Okay.
What do you think of the rumor that was out
there today that the at one point there was an
offer of rejected but it was Dustin May in a
bunch of top level prospects. Dustin May who literally just

(01:51):
came back from injury. Oh he's healthy, let's go get him.
N I don't doubt that he's got great hair. He was.
It was if you if you if you want to
trade make the air in the trade about hair, then yeah,
that's a big deal. Then it should be got the
other players going back in exchange for dust to May. No.
I I look at it like this, the Dodgers and
when it comes to Juan Soto, the Dodgers are gonna

(02:12):
be a team where they wanted to see what it
would take at first, Okay, and now they're gonna sit
back and we've heard the Padres, We've heard the Cardinals,
and this is what the Dodges have done in the
past when it comes to big trades. You don't always
hear their name until the very end. And how this
is gonna work because we said it last week, the
Dodgers are the one team that could get Juan Soto
right now. If they wanted to part with four really

(02:34):
good prospects, then hey, the Nashals do the trade right now.
But what's gonna happen to this? You're gonna hear other
teams and you may get to a point where one
team is in serious discussions with the Nationals, and that's
when the Dodgers come in and go, hey, what if
we did this? And they come over the top with
the winning offer, and that's what gets Juan Soto because
Dodgers prospects, we said, they're way more valuable than other

(02:56):
teams are. And yeah, right now it could be nice.
Hey the Cardinals have uh pleth would you say they
was a plethora? And they have a plethora of players
to give up. They got a good pharmacist and they
got good, young, controllable players. Okay, that's fine. But if
the Dodgers come up and say, hey, we got some
young players for you, whether it's Dustin May, Gavin Lux,
you know, throw some guys out there. Oh hey, that's
what we'll get it done. So the Dodgers are gonna

(03:18):
wind up swooping in at it'll be the big swoop
for Soto. Where you hear another team, another team, another team,
and then when you see a Bob Nightingale report or
Ken Rosenthal report, uh one generic warning from now going, Hey,
Cardinals in lead to acquire Juan Soto. Teams talking players,
deal could be finalized soon. Then later on in the

(03:39):
day you hear, oh, the Dodgers jumped in, and then
they and then they're doing the trade with the Dodgers
instead of the Nationals. My money is still on the Dodgers. Yeah.
Andrew Freeman came out with the quote that I think
is key to all of this because obviously he can't
address star players by name, but you know, asked dance around.

(04:00):
It's like, Oh, I think I know what you're getting here, right,
Like we've we've talked about for NBA stuff. Quote star
players don't become available off and when they are, we
owe it to our fans to see those things out.
Whenever star players become available, we will always have the
conversation and dig in and try to make something make sense.
In other words, operators are standing by if you need

(04:22):
to look for a list of our top prospects and
how they're doing right now, complete with a video resume
that's been updated through their latest at bat or inning pitched.
Please let us Knowine, Please hold baby come back. You
could uh so, yeah, I look in the end, we're

(04:43):
gonna see other guys get traded first, which are gonna
take some teams out, Like look, I expect the Mets
to wind up getting Josh Bell at some point because
they could get Albert Bell too well, he crawls through
the pipes, So get Bell, BIV Devot, Yeah, they could.
They get lots of guys, they could get just all
from Disney. It could get j Bell. Bell would be
a big win. She's also a wizard Morning Bell, morning sir.

(05:07):
And she likes to read. That's why that's why she
was always always favorite princess because she loved books. I
was like, oh, that's so great, that's so romantic and
so kid like. But you're gonna start she she's now
salty and she defies the authority and goes and kids
as somehow come. So some teams are gonna take themselves out. Right,

(05:29):
these seven teams that we heard, the Mets and the Yankees,
some of them are gonna take them out because they're
not gonna put all their eggs in Wan Soto's basket.
And in the end, they're trying to improve for this
year rather than let's blow it up for next year.
So teams like the Mets and the Yankees will make
other deals. Like I said, the Mets will get Josh Bell.
It's me, okay, that's gonna be their deal. Uh, they'll
get up, they'll get another bullpen piece that they're not

(05:51):
gonna go all crazy to go get Wan Soto because
they feel pretty good about this year. Looking in any
sports book you look at the Mets have the fourth
best odds to get to the World Series. Same thing
for the Yankees, like they don't want to blow up
this team that that is on an historic wind pace. Uh,
you know, they'll go out and improve. So you'll see
slowly these teams will will back off. But it will
be those rich farm system teams that don't have anything

(06:13):
to lose that can make a deal. Because the Cardinals
and the Padres, these two teams that we saw in
the lead, right, they're really good teams, right, they could
make noise in the playoffs. But there are also teams
that are looking up at other teams in front of them.
The Padres are looking up at the Dodgers. They're not
close to being as good as the Dodgers. The Cardinals
aren't as good as the Dodgers or the Brewers, or

(06:33):
the Mets or the Braves. So teams like that that
are contenders but can maybe have a little bit more
of a reason to say, yes, we can blow it
up for Juan Soto, because as good as we are,
we're not so good that we could screw the team
up a little bit. It's kind of like the whole
deal with with trying to acquire Kevin Durant. You can
go get Kevin Durant, but you don't want to blow

(06:55):
up your whole team for it because your team may
not be as good. So teams like the Cardinals in
the pod race, where that little level there are contenders,
but a level below the other ones. Those are the
ones who are gonna wind up really pushing the market
for soda to try to make this trade and try
to make it happen. Yeah, as they should, right, because
you're you're looking at a guy that obviously you've got
to try to work out that long term deal and

(07:17):
then it's got to exceed the twenty nine million per year,
and I know people still have the sticker shock of
the four forty do it over the course of the years.
Look at what everything is, uh in terms of a
cost index from this past year, and not to mention
the way major League Baseball salaries, salary caps and everything
else are going. When we talk about the properties gaining

(07:39):
a two to three x in terms of what their
next media deals are uh, grossly underpaid. But what you
are getting short term is a couple of years of
trying to make playoff runs as currently constructed. Obviously, you
give away prospects and maybe a couple of people that
are on your major league roster. But if you are

(08:02):
the the Hunter games behind, right, and you look at
the Padres ten games behind, the twelve games behind the
Dodgers coming into tonight, and yes, you may be a
wild card team but you realistically have to look at
it as like can we catch lightning in a bottle
to where we can get over or do we need

(08:22):
to try to press the issue because you know it's
the you've gone this far, let's see if you're willing
to go a little bit further. Right, You've already spent
a lot of money, probably more money than the Padres
have spent in your and my lifetime these last couple
of years, right, trying to compete and make this rivalry
more than just a fairy tale concocted by sportswriters in

(08:47):
each town, uh and something that has a pulse every
time they have a series. To do that, you need
to bring in another guy like Juan Soto. You need
to pair him with a guy like Fernando Tatis and
see what they could what damage they can do as
a tag team. As you could tell I'm I'm I'm
into Monday night wrestling at this as a as a

(09:07):
tag team for the next decade plus, right, And and
you you throw caution to the wind and say, well
it'll upset things now, maybe give us a little bit
of a uh an edge. We we lost, right because
they had it first half of last season and then
they kind of got put back in their place injuries
and and just well petering out. So now it's can

(09:30):
can you sustain it? And you've invested quite a bit,
so your pot committed or so it would appear. So
that would be one of the teams, the greatest baseball
team in the world. And I do that with the
air quotes, UH and with the best fans and smartest fans.
The Cardinals go through their organization plenty of opportunity UH
to maybe make some noise there because while their prospects

(09:54):
aren't valued like the Dodgers, right his look, recent history matters. UH.
And when we talk about we do it with the
organizational excellence. With the handful of teams in the NFL,
we do the same thing when it comes to drafting,
evaluating drafting and producing UH and growing players in your
farm system. Cardinals are one of those teams that are

(10:16):
in that shortlist as well. So it could make sense.
I'd love to see an American League team just suddenly
get crazy. I know some of my friends back in Chicago,
we're wishing, wanting and hoping and trying to speak it
into existence like the Jerry Ryan Storf is not bringing
on that contract even for two years. Even for what
he's making these next couple of years, He's already paid

(10:38):
out three guys that he's still uh doing, you know,
prayer vigils that they can stay healthy and finish the
second half. So that's not happening. Um well, But but
that's the other part of it, is you you bring
up a great point, is that the other part of
it is that you know, we talked to John Paul
Morossi about this last week and he gave the best
line about this is that any team that's gonna get

(11:00):
Juan Soto, you have to understand that turning down four
d forty one million dollars, even though it was twenty
nine million dollars a year and it was a bad
offer for the Nationals to make, he still turned down
a total of four and forty one million dollars. He's
going to hit free agency in three years, right, Like
I can't believe Boris is gonna be okay with this
with Hey, but the next three years we're gonna hit

(11:22):
free agency. And he's thinking over well over five hundred
million dollars for Juan Soto when it comes up so
any team that gets him now you have to think
about that as well, is that, okay, we get him
for three years, right, we get him for the Pennant
Race this year and then another two years. This is
if we don't want to deal him because he's gonna
walk away, but he's going to hit free agency. The
only way he doesn't hit free agencies if you make

(11:42):
Juan Soto such an over the top offer that he stays.
Like if if you trade for one Soto now and
the Dodgers said, okay, ten years and five hundred million
dollars taking or leave it, Scott Boris would probably take
that because he's gotten one Soto a fifty million dollar
a year contract right away. But short of that, he's
gonna hit free agency. So anybody that wants to trade

(12:03):
these four prospects that, hey, we're gonna set our team back.
We got to understand that this guy in a couple
of years and maybe in a year and a half
is gonna walk and the odds of us keeping him
are the Cardinals gonna be a team that pays him
five five hund million dollars? Are there Padres going to
be a team that pays him five million dollars because
they're already paying to tease Threw thirty million. Can they

(12:26):
really pay another guy five million dollars because that's gonna
be the number that wants Soda wants. So now suddenly
when it comes to padres And and Cardinals, this is
why their possibility shrinks because they're not gonna be a
team that's gonna want to give all that up, Knowing
full they have no chance to resign him. But the Dodgers,
the way they move money around signing guys, we can
say goodbye, Hey, Bellinger was the MVP couple of years ago.

(12:48):
He's gone, and he's gone, He's someplace else. We're gonna
cycle through guys. That's why I keep talking about looking
at the Dodgers being able to swoop in at the
end because they have the best possibility of they can
trade the guys now. The Nationals will love their prospects,
and they're a team that you can say, what are
the Dodgers odds of keeping him as a player better
than almost any other team he would go to. Because

(13:10):
that's also part of it is that you gotta think
in three years he's making that unbelievable free agency number
and I don't know how many teams can afford that money. Well,
that's the last piece of the equation, right, is that
they have money in the banana stand always, always can
go sell a painting or two uh and move money around.
There's billions uh to back it. So they're in a

(13:32):
very unique position. Do they exploit it a hundred percent
of the time. No, but it is there for that
player with a unique set of skills, like chopping a
triple down the first first spaceline. I meant there was
money in the walls of an adda stand, Michael, there
was five hundred thou dollars in there, and you burned
it down. Frostburg, Wait, Frostburg knows when Juan Soto is

(13:54):
gonna become a Dodger? What you got from I know
exactly want to believe he's gonna be a Dodger. Okay,
when all those may your insiders tweet out he's a
that's that's that's a fair point. Oh, shots fired by Frostburg.
Is that wrong? No? No, I'm not No, He's definitely
not wrong. Be sure to catch live editions of The

(14:58):
bottom of the seventh, Tony Gone excelind could be on
his way to his first official Major League Baseball non
All Star Game loss of the season, as the Nationals
lead the Dodgers four to one. As they bat in
the seventh, a Juan Soto groundball triple UH brings in
a couple of sure sure UH turns a to one

(15:22):
game into a four one Washington lead, and they have
the lead as the Dodgers bat here in the seventh
UH biggest story the day in the NFL. Not even close.
Kyler Murray has to have independent study. Now. Last week,
Kyler Murray agreed to a big contract extension with the
Arizona Cardinals that's gonna net him an average of forty
six million dollars a year and a guaranteed hundred and

(15:45):
sixty million dollars UH. Total value of this contract was
two thirty million and a week ago we talked about
this and I said, Look, I'm not the biggest Kyler
Murray fan, but you can't argue with the fact that
Cardinals have become a good team. Uh, They've gotten better
every year. Kyle the Murray is not the greatest quarterback,
but what are the odds you're gonna get better at
quarterback in the next five years? Pretty difficult. So signing

(16:07):
Kyler Murray, I got it. It made sense. But now
this story today, are you kidding me? The Cardinals, as
part of his contract, included an addendum that requires him
to study film for four hours a week during the
season to stay in compliance with his new contract. According
to the contract quote, Murray will need to study material

(16:30):
provided to him by the club in order to prepare
for the club's next upcoming game. Murray's gonna get credit
for completing his film study according to the contract. Now,
I don't know, it's just like compliance training when you
answer your quiz at the end and go, okay, here's
your quiz on the upcoming opponents the team. All right,
here's five questions about the mistakes that were made in

(16:51):
this sequence. The team you are playing is a the Bears,
be the Packers, see the Lions. And then if he
answer wrong, Nope, that's incorrect, go back can get the
answer to go back and get the answer. Who are
we playing this week? I don't know, this is so embarrassing.
I just that there's no way to cut this up
that well. I get this is a guy you decided

(17:12):
was your franchise quarterback, and not only that, you gave
him the money and said part of it is you
gotta complete independent hours of film study. I mean, first
of all, how are you going to uh supervise this?
I mean, what if it's independent? That means he's got
to do it at home by himself. He can have
one window open and watch game film while you can

(17:34):
have an under window open and be watching Better Call Saul.
He may have that television, but he certainly can't do
that on the same computer because you know what, the
walls have years. It doesn't you can keep it up.
As long as you keep it, they're gonna low jack
his device. Man. Wow, talking about a nineties reference, you said, LoJack.

(17:55):
I mean, just think about this. It's independence. Like this
is in college where I'd be like, you know, I
could get an extra credit for independent study. Right, you
had an independent study one day a week for three hours.
I get that credit gets me to fifteen. It's not
gonna be a full time student. This is where you're
at now. You're treating Kyler Murray like he's a college
kid and you gave him two d and thirty million
dollars a hundred and sixty million guaranteed. So just think

(18:17):
about that for a second. To right, if you think
this is gonna work well, and oh, by the way, spoiler,
it's not. It's gonna end very poorly. You have someone
with very bad work habits. That's lazy because every quarterback
knows you gotta watch film. You gotta watch film to
be able to succeed. You gotta know who's coming up.
You gotta know what you need to do when you
drop back in the pocket. And Kyler Murray very famously

(18:38):
told The New York Times last year he does not
study film because, quote, he's blessed with the cognitive skills
to go out there and just see it before it happens.
Just think about that for a second. I need to
study film because I'm good. It is basically what he's saying.
I don't need to study film white because I'm good. Uh,
you know, you know who else is good. I'm Kyler Murray.
I went when I go out there on the field,

(18:58):
I would go play a diapers and I make gold records. Uh,
you know who else is good? Everybody else in the NFL.
But I'm so good, I don't need to watch them. No,
it's just being lazy. It's just being lazy. I don't
want to watch film because I don't feel like I
have to because I'm going to rely on my physical
abilities on the football field. And you know what, there's

(19:19):
lots of guys with great physical abilities on the football field.
And if you don't bring something extra to the party,
guess what, You're not gonna be in the league. For
very long and as as as much as Murray has
been able to accomplish, He's someone that could do better.
He could be doing more, but he's just chosen not
to because I don't feel like it. All the all
time greats watch from they all want to be great.

(19:40):
I don't think Kyler Murray wants to be great. I
think Kyler Murray just wants to be a guy that
makes money. And I want to play football and I
want to have fun. That's kind of what he is. Hey,
I've I've found this profession that I can choose that
I can make money and have fun at it. And
the minute it doesn't get fun, well, then I unfollow
the Cardinals on social media and I do all kinds
of things that an immature young player does. That's kind

(20:00):
of what it is right now. And do you really think,
if you're the Cardinals, you want him to be able
to take that next step and be a leader. We're
gonna give you all this money, but we gotta put
a clause on the contract that you have to watch film.
Is he really gonna watch film? Now? You paid them.
All he didn do is do the bare minimum to
say yes, I pay I I paid attention. I watched
the film this week. I know what's going on. We're
playing the giants. I get I gotta watch out for

(20:22):
Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson. I understand. I got their
guy watch film myself and stuff on YouTube. Do you
really think that's the way to do it? When you
want somebody to do something, you don't reward them and
then say, okay, now we need you to do this.
Why would they do it? You've already paid them the money?
Independent film study? How are you going? Are you gonna
send somebody by his house every night to go look?
Are you gonna give him a test as? How's this
gonna work? How are you really gonna be beholden to this?

(20:44):
And I'm gonna work independently for four and four hours
that's apparently the magic number to get ready for your
football team on Sunday. You know what I would do instead?
I would have said, you know, instead of this thing,
Kyler Murray, you have to sit in front of your
team every Sunday after a game that we lose and
you tell them the prep work that you put into
this week. In the NFL, that's a that's a better
thing than four hours of film study. You stand in

(21:05):
front of the team that spend time in meetings, that
spends time prepping to win, that are putting their bodies
on the line more so than you every week, because
these are guys that are getting hit on every single play,
and you tell them that you don't need to watch film,
and you didn't watch any film this week. That would
have been a better way. That's a better way. Okay,
you don't have to do it, but if we loose,
you had to stand in front of the team and
tell them that. I think that's pretty quick thing for

(21:26):
him to go start watching game film. I don't see
how this works well. I don't see how this ends
well for the Cardinals or Kyler Murray. A terrible look
that this has to be included, and obviously it gets
leaked as soon as possible. Of like look, it confirms
a lot of the speculation on the bar of Kyler
Murray and also is quite damning to Cliff Kingsbury that

(21:48):
he hasn't been able to get this uh process fixed
in the past naturally, and that it had to be
part of the negotiation of a contract extension. Right terms
and conditions they do apply, and that's what we have here.
Here's a bunch of roster bonuses, here's a bunch of
workout bonuses, and here's your independent film study. Now, plenty

(22:11):
of measures you could put in place in terms of
the quizzing, the check ins, the poppins and whatever, because
like you're giving him a team issued iPad would be
my guests or Microsoft Surface or whatever, the healthy official
thing you have to hand out for the team and I.
There's a lot of bells and whistles that you can

(22:32):
do with that, right, like any other corporate property. And
in this case you're gonna say, all right, we're logging
what you're doing here. I mean, every time you log
onto the computer at work, don't you get that disclaimer
saying hey, keep it clean because big brothers watching same
thing here. It's like, we expect you to do these
four hours and like four hours is nothing. You should

(22:53):
be able to do that standing on your head. Uh,
And that's you and I do four hours every night,
five live and living color. Maybe, but it so it's that,
you know, part of it is the Simpson's meme all
the way going back to you only live twice with Scorpio, Uh,
and Homer supervising the building, and you've got the you know,

(23:15):
his computer text getting after it's like, are you guys working? Yes?
Mr Simpson, could you be working any harder? And then
they started clicking clacking on the keyboards at about a
fifteen times pace. So you know it's that for Kyler
Murray so great, But now you've opened up a lot
of questions about how your organization has actually handled things, uh.

(23:37):
And the indictment of Kingsbury and of course Steve kme
I've not been kind to him with how he's he's
operated here for quite some time. And and this is
just the latest example. Uh, you got it in writing
good for you. The fact that you had to uh
should have given you a little bit of a pause.
And it also really gets you kind of salty to

(24:00):
recognize how great an athlete and how Murray does process things.
The problem is, you know, folks adapt, folks change, uh,
and they adapt to how you're running your offense, which
means you need to get it back into the lab
to keep doing that work. So that's that's where we're
at now with this. So it's it really is one
of the stranger things that we've seen come out of

(24:23):
and we've seen a lot of contracts. Right, you have
a lot of random things. It's almost like concert writers
for bands. Right, I need just green M and m's
or whatever. And and this is four hours of independent study. Uh.
They also did give him a weekly uh stipend for uh.

(24:46):
He's got to put forth a diorama every fourth week.
He's got to have poster boards and markers, crans, etcetera.
So that that's a little bit of where that hundred
sixty million guaranteed goes, because he has to give the
oral presentation. Uh. You know. And and when it comes
down to the reputation of the team, now, the Cardinals

(25:08):
are back to being a laughing stock. I mean, look,
how I always say it's hard for a team to
change their image. It really is for the longest time,
because if if you have the image of being a
laughing stock for a long time, it's just it's really
hard to get out of. And the Cardinals were there,
with the Jets and the Lions and the Raiders, right,
the teams we made fun of the most because they
could never get it right. And we haven't had a

(25:30):
winning year since. Uh. And and the Cardinals, Hey, all right,
Phoenix is going through a bit of a renaissance right now.
We have the the Sons are playing really well, although
they're falling short, but still they've been a big team
in the playoffs. Now the Cardinals have played pretty well.
They become a playoff team. But Nope, now you're embarrassing

(25:51):
because you had to put a clause in your players
contract that says they need to study more. I mean
really that that's that's like it's so back to college
for me with like my mom saying, hey, if if
you fall below with two five, you're gonna lose some
of your scholarship money. You need to study more. Okay, mom, Yeah, thresholds.

(26:12):
I'll study more. I'll study more as I sit. Yeah,
shome on the phone with my mom. Man, stop, uh chug.
What are they saying? Oh, they're they're they're saying jug.
We have a jug of water here that and I'm thirsty.
I'm staying hydrated. So they're saying jug jug jug. That's
what it is. I that was detention in high school

(26:32):
was a jug justice under god? Wow? Oh my god. Wow,
that sounds Sarah had you go after school? Yeah, that
sounds that sounds like a Stephen Jugged Justice under God.
Stephen Seagal is Justice under God who plays God Gary Busey, WHOA,
I gotta go see this movie. This is gonna be awesome.

(26:53):
I'd actually pay to see that. So let's go right
there they both started it. Let's go. That's the one
where he breaks guy's neck in like seven pieces, right, Yeah, yeah,
you wouldn't have to pay those guys anymore. You want
to be in a movie. Yes, you can hang out
on the same day. Yeah, listen, We're not gonna pay you,
but Craft Services will be there all day and you
can eat whatever you want. We'll pay you twenty bucks

(27:14):
a day, or might actually be provided by craft. That
could be all the mac and cheese. Will there be
any Choco taco? Stop too soon for child? The choco
taco Choco tacos like, well, he would get a flesh
neck brace. It's gotta be chocolate. Would be a choco. No,

(27:36):
it's choco to rhyme with taco, That's what it is.
It's it's choco that ryme cocaco chock jewitch t J
clearly with the chucko taco. Frostberg not putting on the
ritz with this. I listened to that on the way

(27:56):
back from Delmar today. It was on Maddie's playlist. Put
it on super Dude, you don't know what is it that?
John Lennon's girlfriend's name, Choco Yoko Yo and Choco Taco. Okay,
there's a lot of ohs. There's a lot of those.

(28:18):

(29:03):
Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast
from Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith show with my
best friend Mike Harmon. Yeah, sometimes figuring out answers to
big sports questions and topics are difficult. Sometimes they're easy.
This is an easy one. Earlier today, Tyreek Kill once

(29:24):
again went on a podcast, went on and went on
television on ESPN to prop up to a Tunnel Vloa
as the greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL.
Uh So to uh who has been roundly criticized for
the past couple of years, has a staunch ally Entyree
Kill who really kind of went overboard and saying how

(29:46):
great a quarterback he's gonna be playing with in Miami.
You had an opportunity to pick between Tour or pick
between Zach Wilson, and you decided South Beach to stead
of New York. What was the determining factor on that?
I said once, and I said again, you know that
it was. And it's a dog. I really play with
the most ecorate quarterback in the NFL. Dog. I want
to pick up on that because you just call him

(30:06):
the most accurate quarterback in the NFL, and you made
a lot of headlines about Tah's accuracy Tyreek in comparison
to my home So what have you seen from him
so far this summer? I mean obviously you know too,
he's not your typical gun slinger. But you know, like
if you really like just pay attention to his game.
You know, everything get spot on, everything is pinpoint. You know,

(30:26):
ball is on time. You know, his fundamentals are on point.
You know he takes the time to make up in
other areas and be great in those other areas that
you know other quarterbacks may not be good at. You know.
So that's all I gotta say on that. You know, tour,
he's a heck of a competitor, hell of a hard worker,
you know. So, like I said, man, I'm excited to work,
go to work with him. Okay, Now, now here's the

(30:48):
reality of this. Two Up is on his last chance
to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. And Tyreek
can talk about two of like he's Trevor Lawrence and
oh boys. But Toa is on his lab chance to
be a starting quarterback in the NFL. This is it
five games, it doesn't work. Guess who's not playing quarterback?
To to it doesn't have a strong arm. Where do
you try to run across downfield on on a on

(31:10):
a play that breaks down, and too, I can't throw
the ball more than thirty yards. Tyree Hill is gonna go. Man.
I was used to getting this from Patrick Mahomes. Why
is Tyree Hill doing this? Going to the going to
the wall to defend to the second time he said,
how accurate he is, how great a quarterback he is. Um,
Tyreek Hill knows that he took a big chance in

(31:30):
leaving Patrick Mahomes for the Miami Dolphins and to and
it's a decision that is really something that's a gamble,
because why would you leave Mahomes for Towa. What he
is simply doing is he's justifying both to the media
and fans and to himself the reason why he left
Kansas City, which has been questioned constantly. So why why

(31:53):
did I leave? A Look, look how great they were
gonna pay me? I like it here, too, is so accurate.
None of these things. Now, maybe he's putting two on notice. Hey,
I've propping you up. You better be good this year,
But none of this is really true about two. He's
on his last chance. But Tyreek Kill knows, Boy, I'm
getting a lot of criticism, So here I am. I'm
justifying it to you. And to me, this is why

(32:14):
I took Miami's money and went there. Didn't want to
go to the Jets because you know, it's the Jets
and they're laughing stock. So Miami the lifestyle, South Beach. Yeah,
that's what I want, and I'm here and I'm justifying
it to everybody because you wouldn't have to do it
if he was really that good. You wouldn't have to
prop up your quarterback if he was really that good,
and it wasn't a question. So he's doing this just
to justify it. I did it. Get in there and sell, sell, sell,

(32:39):
get me the ball, Get me the ball a lot.
And then in the background you can almost hear the
song You've got a friend in me. Look from the
producers of Toy Story, you remember the song, Uh, I'm
propping up my guy to Hey. On August three, you
can stream the new thing about the Spaceman, So you know,
have fun with that. That's it's it all ties together, Jason.

(33:02):
So it's yeah, it's a lot of hype and it's
a lot of expectation. Mike McDaniel, good luck with that,
because if you don't get him the ball early, he's
gonna start pouting and it's gonna get ugly Twitter, And
how about a fresca Mike and Swollen down the Jason
Smith Show with my best friend. His name is Mike Harmon.
Coming up next, a different take on why you shouldn't

(33:26):
trade for Kevin Durant. What this is Fox am i
